Acolyte Spoilers #1
Okay so -- of the many, many, MANY things about SW canon that are both hilarious and horrifying in light of episode 1 of the Acolyte, this is the one that's sticking out to me now: So, apparently, in canon, Anakin and his "unorthodox" training that everybody in the Temple yelled at him for has officially now saved Ahsoka's life approximately 1033 times over instead of just 1032. Why? Because Osha out here, Jedi dropout, working for the Trade Federation on a case-by-case basis (who are talking over comms about how disposable she is!) because, and I quote/near-quote: the Jedi skills aren't transferable. And apparently, they don't really teach you anything else, not officially. If you don't have a master who cares about that kind of thing, maybe you don't get any kind of training that way at all. AND, evidently, if you leave or get kicked out, they don't give you any kind of job training, stipend, or post-Order care, as we saw with both Ahsoka and Osha. So that particular fun little fanon sop to the Jedi just died a lonely death LOL. So Anakin, by teaching Ahsoka an actual, marketable trade (mechanics) (why is that the only trade in Star Wars?? Guys, learn some basket-weaving) absolutely saved her life. (Again.) So, to recap: You're taken to the main government-sponsored (literally, from what I can see) cult, the Jedi Order, often as a baby so you have no say in it. There are laser swords, telekinetic space monks who have lived in power for centuries, a planet-city full of corruption, and absolutely no child endangerment or child labor laws. Your "brethren" can and literally do invade people's minds and control them without asking if it's convenient. You are ostracized for forming any kind of attachment; apparently, if you blink in vague confusion while a fascist green lady asks you if you're down with murdering your young former padawan for political convenience, you're too attached. (AND that is a whole hilarious post on its own). Key salient details will be left out of your file to aid in a coverup about your origins. The minimal amount of critical thinking will be done at all times, if you're lucky. And then, of course, if you dare to leave or get kicked out of this utterly Benevolent Cult in which you had no choice in spending your entire life, you...will have no resources, no job training, and be left to sink or swim. And then at any point the Jedi will have free rein to pop back into the life you've shakily managed to construct for yourself, arrest you immediately on the testimony of one (1) (non-human guy who might not be able to tell the difference between one human and the next!), and then get you crashlanded onto an icy death planet and hunt you down, laser swords out and ready to slice and dice you to death. Yep. Sounds about right. (Wait till you get to the human clones manufactured to die, Osha! That'll be fun.) Sooo -- any sane person's reaction to the Jedi Cult here should be:

Force, I am SO frustrated with the Filonification of popular Star Wars. People keep on trying to make arguments about Star Wars, yet they refuse to actually watch Star Wars and make sensible criticisms about it because theyāre literally just parroting whatever weird non-canonical shit Felony spit out in an article last week.
I was looking at this article:
And I was legitimately trying to look at the criticisms and see if I can agree with any of them, but they donāt make any sense and I can just feel Filoni oozing off them.
So imma rant, got it?
Mistake Number 1 that led to the fall of the order: They were too much into politics.
More specifically, the article claims that āthey very much had a hand in the flipping the Senateā with reference to the Vote of No Confidence for Valorum in tpm, but itās been a minute and a half since I saw the prequels, so I read the Wookie summary, and I mightāve missed something but I donāt think thereās any mention of them, like, voting or doing anything significant in the Senate in ep1? I feel like it wouldāve been mentioned if it was even vaguely implied that the Jedi mind tricked the senate or lobbied for the vote to go one way or another, but it isnāt mentioned anywhere and it donāt square with what I remember, so Iām guessing they just made this up and convinced themselves it was canon? Tell me if you can figure out what theyāre talking about or if there is a canon basis I missed.
Other than that, I do not remember a single scene where we saw the Jedi do anything more political than take orders from politicians or exist in the senate building in the prequels.
Mistake Number 2 that led to the fall of the order: Suppressing Baby Murdererās emotions.
ā¦A Take, certainly. So this oneās talking about Anakinās grief over his motherās death, which I agree would be a fucked-up thing to suppress. Thatād suck. If it actually happened becauseā¦ the Jedi do not know that Anakinās mom is dead. They do not know that Anakin and PadmĆ© went to Tatooine, since they were ordered to stay on Naboo. They are utterly unaware of everything that happens on Tatooine aside from Yoda feeling the Tusken Massacre in the Force. Yeah, Anakin told Obi-Wan that heād had dreams about his mom dying, and he didnāt do anything about it, but that wasnāt Obi Wan suppressing Anakinās emotionsāthat was just him saying that it sucked that he had a bad dream, since I donāt think Anakin said it couldāve been a vision or anything, so this one doesnāt land at all. Where did they get this idea???
Mistake Number 3 that led to the fall of the order: āAllowingā Maul to take over Mandalore (somehow?)
I can feel my brain cells dying. Maul joined up with a terrorist group and some crime gangs to forcefully take over a neutral system. None of that was āallowedā by the Jedi. They also say that the Jedi āsentā Obi Wan to get rid of Maul when I remember Yoda telling Obi Wan some shit like āSend anyone to Mandalore the Jedi cannotā and then Obi Wan went to Mandalore anyway and it didnāt do shit. Anyway I feel like the author of this article might own a ridiculously annoying cowboy hat. Just a hunch.
Mistake Number 4 that led to the fall of the order: Baselessly Exiling Ahsoka (Baselessly?? There very much was base)
So. Wrong Jedi Arc my beloathed. Here we are again. The article claims that the Jedi āexiled Ahsoka Tano on mere suspicion alone and didn't even confirm whether she was involved in the bombing of the Jedi Temple or notā. Which. Hmm. So, there was a big investigation into the bombing that pretty definitely said that Ahsoka was almost certainly the bomber. It wasnāt āmere suspicionā, it was all the fucking evidence very clearly pointing to her. She ran away, she worked with a damn separatist assassin, she was found in a warehouse filled with the bombs. The audience know she was framed, but the characters donāt because the whole point of framing someone is to convince the other people they did it. If the Jedi had exiled her for this, they wouldāve been being very reasonable and justified. Will also point out that the Jedi were forced by the Senate to exile her and did not want to. They apologized and let her back in as soon as they possibly could.
Also thereās this weird (actually!) baseless claim that Ahsoka was one of the most powerful Jedi in the Clone Wars. Which has no proof because itās untrueāsheās a padawan with max 2 years of training. Thereās no way sheās more powerful than a fully trained knight, of which there were still quite a few. But of course she is, because sheās Felonyās beloved OC who can do no wrong.
Mistake Number 5 that led to the fall of the order: Not giving Baby Murderer power
I am convinced that no one involved in writing or editing this article has actually watched RotS, and has only ever listened to Felony talk about RotS. They claim that āthey invited Anakin over to the Council as a pseudo-member and his only task was to spy on the Chancellor. Not only was this political meddling once again, but it was also an insult to Anakinā oh no, they insulted Anakin, clearly this means heās justified in murdering them! Also, the Jedi Council apparently wanted to appoint Anakin, they werenāt literally forced into it by Palpatine. You know, that scene where Palpatine is like āyeah, Iāve forced the council to put you on the council even though they donāt want you there. Youāre my spy on the council nowā that didnāt happen actually. The Jedi were completely evil in not allowing the unstable baby murderer a full seat on their governing body when they were forced to put him there through nepotism. Them asking the only guy whoās close enough with the chancellor to investigate him because heās overstayed his term and is overreaching with his powers is also completely evil and awful and unjustified. Uh huh.
Mistake Number 6 that led to the fall of the order: Mace Windu Wants To Kill Palpatine Right Away (direct quote from the article)
Yeah, you read that right. I canāt make this shit up, but filoni sure as fuck can. So, Mace Windu learns that the shady Chancellor thatās been overreaching with his authority and has overstated his term is also an evil Sith that has manipulated both sides of the war to gain power, causing the deaths of millions, including a shit ton of Maceās people and friends, because said chancellor drafted them to fight in the war that he created. This would make Mace pretty damn justified in killing Palpy imo, but Mace specifically goes to arrest him for his crimes. Palpatine then kills three other Jedi Masters in cold blood and attempts to kill Mace, and when Mace beats him he still tries to arrest himāyāknow that whole āYou are under arrest, my lordā bit?āuntil the guy tries to fucking electrocute him with his fucking hands and it becomes clear that there is no way to take him in peacefully. Only after palpatine murders 3 people in front of him, attempts to murder Mace in combat, and makes it clear that he cannot be taken in alive does Mace attempt to kill him. No matter how you slice it, thatās not him wanting to kill the bitch right away.
Also the article tries to say that Anakin wanted to bring Palpatine in because he recognized that he should stand trial, which is technically what he says, but he also screams āI need him!ā in that same scene so I think we know why he really doesnāt want Palpy to die.
Mistake Number 7 that led to the fall of the order: They didnāt train Luke and Leia
Now this might seem baffling because the article is supposedly talking about things that caused the fall of the order and Luke and Leia werenāt even born until after the fall of the order, but I can assure you that the article does not explain this in any way.
Still, letās pretend this makes sense with the subject of the article and press on. The article asks what was stopping Obi Wan from training Luke as a Jedi on Tatooine. I feel like the answer might have something to do with the fact that the twins were so powerful that the Jedi were afraid that the emperor could sense them if they were next to each other. Formal training would make them stronger and more likely to be sensed, so they didnāt do it until they had to. This probably would be the most reasonable thing in here if the article wasnāt about what caused the fall of the order.
Mistake Number 8 that led to the fall of the order: Not telling Luke about Vader
Yet another Thing That Lead to the Fall of the Jedi Order that somehow happened after the fall of the order, but if I focus on that I might start screaming, so we move on.
This article leads you to believe that all the problems in ESB couldāve been solved if only Obi Wan had told Luke about Vader. Hmm. Yoda says in RoJ that Luke wasnāt ready for the information when he was told at the end of ESB, which seems very true based on the fact that Luke was unable to accept the information when told, was described by George Lucas as suicidal afterwards, and is suddenly unable to consider killing Mr. Evil Baby Murderer Space Fascist afterwards because of their family connection, and you want Obi-Wan to tell him earlier?
You know that OT Luke would, upon hearing that information before Cloud City, have immediately jumped in his X-Wing and raced to confront Vader. If he found Vader in that state, Luke wouldāve been even more unbalanced and unfocused, which wouldāve lead to him losing the duel worse and being either killed or captured by Vader, since Leia wouldnāt have been close enough to save him.
Mistake Number 9 that led to the fall of the order: Not believing people who had been dead for 1,000 years were back without proof
I want you to imagine a hypothetical with me: a guy that is somehow vaguely influential in politics walks up to the UN and tells them that Leif Eriksson and the Vikings are back and coming to kill everybody. This man has no proof beyond what he and a couple of people with him say , and there has been no indication of this at all before he shows up. I know in that scenario Iād want the UN to throw him out until he had proof.
Thatās the modern day equivalent of Qui Gon telling the Jedi the Sith are back. Heās making a huge claim with no evidence. You canāt expect the Jedi to immediately believe him no questions asked. The instant thereās actual proof of this, we see the two most influential and powerful Jedi, Mace and Yoda, talking about how they need to look out for other Sith. They are taking the threat seriously, they just arenāt omniscient like the audience.
Mistake Number 10 that led to the fall of the order: When they were enemies of the state who would be killed if they didnāt hide, they hid
Truly, a horrible mistake. Now theyāre mad at Obi Wan and Yoda for going into hiding, unlike other survivors of Order 66. Other survivors such as Kanan, Ahsoka, Cal, and Quinlan, perhaps. All of these characters went into hiding. Cal and Kanan were forced out of hiding, and Ahsoka helped with the early rebellion while remaining in hiding, but pretty much every order 66 survivor tried to go into hiding.
Now, if youāll excuse me, Iām going to go cry.

Do you believe Bosselot is requited and why?
Depends of how I feel at any given moment to be honest lol Sometimes I wish I was the kind of person who could just say "yes absolutely!" (or "no, and I don't give a shit") and call it a day but I'm not lol My thoughts and feelings about it are kinda complicated. Kojima can be as subtle as a brick to the face. But he's also amazingly good at implying things, leaving things vague and up to interpretations, adding hidden layers. I think bosselot resides enough in that grey zone that even when I try to go strictly by canon, to be perfectly objective, something makes me go "but". Maybe that's proof I'm not THAT objective though, I don't know lol Giving myself a pat on the back for at least trying lol
To the question "did Snake love Ocelot back", the most direct answer I can come up with is "I don't know". Snake doesn't talk much about his feelings, the direct interactions with Ocelot in canons are rare so you can't really judge by his actions or their interactions, and with how intense Snake's fixation on the Boss and War are, it's hard to say how much he feels about anything else (even Kaz, and bbkaz is as explicitly gay as you can get). It's just a vibe, but I'm not sure Snake really knows how he feels and why most of the time anyway, I think his emotional intelligence might not be super high? Because of that, I'm don't know if he's even aware how down bad Ocelot is for him. Sticking to a view closer to canon, I don't think Ocelot would actually tell him, and Snake can be quite dense, he'd need it to be spelled out very clearly lol
What I do know for sure at least is that Snake trusts Ocelot, which is not nothing considering how many times Snake has been stabbed in the back by people he trusted. He directly tells Ocelot he's counting on him, and Zero says about Ocelot watching over Snake while he's a coma that "it's how he'd want it". From a meta level, there's also what Kojima said about them: "Snake and Ocelot, from the first moment they set eyes upon each other, they both fell into liking with each other. It is a pure love". You can interpret that as simply kinship or as literally love at first sight, to me it's both. That's important to me because there's always some people trying to pretend that Snake doesn't care at all about Ocelot, which simply isn't true. It's very clear to me that their relationship is special, that they have a unique bond. But the long-distance nature of their relationship gets in the way a lot of its development.
Now, outside of canon, it's very possible that they've had more direct contacts than what we've been shown. In one of the MGSV tape Snake says "you never liked the French". It sounds insignificant, but that tells me that Ocelot bitched about that at some point. It's just a hint that they probably know each other better and more intimately than the games let on. And if the cigar lighting scene at the end of MGSV was an intentional reference to symbolism of 50s cinema with the same underlying meaning*, then Snake is outright asking for a kiss in that scene lol
TL;DR: I can't say for sure if Snake has romantic feelings for Ocelot in canon, but I think it's definitely plausible that he does. I don't think absence of evidence in this case is necessary evidence of absence.
*Films of the '50s used loaded terms to signify things that couldn't be discussed. "'Can I light your cigarette for you?' was code for kissing,ā says Allison McCracken PhD, a professor of American Studies with a focus on the history of sex and sexuality over the phone. When the cigarettes came out, everyone in the audience would have known what the characters were alluding to.
#a&j talks#a&j answers#thank you for the ask hope that answered the question? XD#my uncertainties about the canonicity doesn't interfere with my love of the ship anyway i ship it as if it was 100% mutual#i'll leave the one-sided HC to the masochists in the fandom i just want my evil grandpas to be in lurve

//rtdldx, Magolor epilouge main spoiler
Ok how do you think about the ending of Magolor epilouge ?
I'm pretty satisfied but I've seen some people who don't like it, because it's even more vague if the main mode Magolor really come back to Dreamland.
But regarding of the Ultimate Sword move in Star Allies, I think they are all the same Magolor. Maybe Lor found him in that *Spoiler* dimension and they come back together (20th anniversary).
I believe that Magolor still misses Kirby and the rtdl team, even those characters in *Spoiler* world parallel those in the og universe, they are still not the same. Hal, please don't prove us that Magolor abandons every relationship he had had in the og universe. (Start to feel scared.) Ok... let me drink some water... and calm down. I don't think Magolor would do that, although I only have some little evidence.
But hey! Your headcanon get somehow justified! *Spoiler* Magolor is the og Magolor!
I saw that some people didn't like it! To be honest, I was surprised to learn that! Not that there's anything wrong with people feeling that way. It's going to touch everyone differently, but I felt satisfied through pretty much the whole experience!
I DID drop my controller and scream and point at the TV when I saw Kirby Clash Magolor, but since I was always a fan of "Magolor ended up in Kirby Clash after his loss in RtDL" one of my rare HC getting justified made me excited!
And yes, I think it's pretty seriously likely that Magolor managed to find his way back to Dream Land/Pop Star. This game doesn't exactly de-canonize Kirby's Dream Collection, and Magolor and the Lor had to have reunited at some point...
Plus, it always seemed to me as if buying out Shopkeeper Magolor's shop, allowing him to re-decorate his store to be gold, blue, and gear themed, and having him switch into his original clothes, was emblematic of a "My time here is over!" moment for him.
That's always when I pictured him finally being "free" to return to Dream Land. (And now that we know there's some kind of power - Master Crown Power, to be precise - attached to the Gem Apples, it makes sense that he'd need to collect them in order to gather enough power to return to the Lor/Dream Land. In fact...)
...It's kind of fun to speculate!
Maybe Magolor was unable to/unwilling to collect the gem apples himself? (I mean, why run a store right next to a literal "gold mine?" Just get the money yourself!) Or maybe he's still a little traumatized from the whole Master Crown thing and didn't want to touch the tree... (You can see him visibly shaking/crying after the Epilogue boss fight, poor guy) Or maybe he COULDN'T harvest from the tree directly? Maybe he feared corrupting it/being corrupted by the power of the Master Tree Crown again!
The end result is, Magolor needed even more power to return/cross dimensions, but he also needed someone else to provide it for him. Someone pure of heart and unable to be corrupted. (As even Landia struggled with the crown.) Thus, Team Kirby enters the picture.
...Also, he also always wanted to run his own shop, so I guess that's convenient!
But I think your theory that the Lor comes and finds himĀ Ā (aka, the Dream Collection theory) is a great one too! It didn't make sense for the Lor to rescue Magolor immediately after him going overlord, but after Magolor's worked hard for days/months/years/??? to change and become better? And has been living side by side with the Master Tree Crown for all that time without being tempted by it? (As the new pause screens suggest the Lor didn't "talk" to him before because it suspected he was being influenced by the crown)
And yes, I absolutely agree with you that Magolor cares about his bonds with the RtDL group and wants to see them all again!
-
Circling back around, I saw someone mention that it seemed cruel for Magolor to abandon (or potentially betray) the people he met in Dream Kingdom to return to Pop Star, but there is such a thing as making friends in a new place while still having another, separate place that's more "home" to you.
It's pretty clear that Bandanna Waddle Dee makes a fine guardian for the tree, and Team Kirby will keep Dream Kingdom safe. Even though Magolor probably WAS on good terms with the people of Dream Kingdom, I think that for him, it would still be kind of mentally exhausting/emotionally painful to deal with people who only LOOKED like those he wanted to see again day after, day after day.
:cough cough: and there's no Marx anywhere in Dream Kingdom, which would also be sad for him </Marxolor feels> :cough cough:
Magolor really does need to go home. Even if Team Kirby sees him as a friend, the person he REALLy wanted to be friends with... was OUR Kirby.
...I'll talk more about that later of course!

hmm in the premise that SE is definitely set out to be killing a non existent ship in the trilogy (preferably in part 2 already), I just don't understand how anyone can think the story would go astray from it's array of chekhov's guns. Tbh, when I first watched AC, as a kid, in my mind I just assumed tifa was his gf and z and a were like his comrades who died. The part where he called him "mother" did help tons for me to think of it this way. It was only after 15 years? That I discovered there was even a debate? So I spoiled myself and by the principles of storytelling, FF7 seems to have the trope of quite literally any amnesia tropy kdrama plot I've ever seen that also exist in jp media. Aka, anything that happened during his amnesia phase does not count after finding out who he is, because he was most party manipulated to not remember things by the narrative and its character. Mind you, this is just me spoiling myself for a small context of a game i haven't played yet and only have superficial understanding of the characters. Also, the part in lifestream really sells it lol, he gets himself back? Because he was false before? It's so weird why this is even confusing.
So, I had a conversation with my bro about this and he's a debater, I told everything about the "LTD" and it's a long talk but he says, it's a non-debate. Since cloti is sourced explicitly in the game and sources, answering cloud's feelings as the main question.. the ltd asks "what does he feel for a?" But the thing is, it can also be asked "what does he feel for z?" Easily can be romantic IF we base thier "logic" of ca on zack + cloud. Canon wise both are stated as friends to him. But romantic? For both, it LITERALLY doesn't exist. It's not as to make it vague per say, but that the writers, story, and characters have no idea that it's even needed to be answered. Aka it is by default platonic. Not vague, it's platonic as stated by canon sources as it's the only one that exists. The LTD is a cult like idea that continued to persist in the fandom of FF7. But never in the mind of it's creator. This is their mistake. They find this as an activity of the fandom, but reality is, it undermines their work greatly. Destroying all the characters, and story they've made and for what? Cheap pity fan service? That's lazy. This isn't a charm of the game, but a mistake of its delivery. I mean as evident as how many pitied tifa in AC. Essentially it's like 1+1=2 (canon) but someone says it's 3. In short it's BS, but a lot are biting on "maybe it is 3" and ignoring all the proof for the sake of negating. Hence a non-debate because canon has already won and will always win.
Now, I saw a zerith point out how they're so happy they're even getting anything. Tbh I found this strange, a good story would utilize the successful built up if zack and they are thank god. But why do I see this as a random person? And they don't? I feel there's trauma in this fandom, and I hate that for all of you and a story that has intense potential. Which leads me to a "funny" thought. It seems for so long, cas have been going on about their way to misinform everyone, thus encouraging incels, dudebros, bandwagoners alike. This does not seem to sit well with devs, I sure hope so. I feel like the fact that they've been this toxic, is the reason why SE is extra mean to them and is even planning to finally give them an answer to the "what does c feel for a?" After all these time? A question that was never important to begin with because it's already platonic by default but copers want more. It is because of this desire, most likely "he doesn't feel romantically inclinde, even if you as a player did, he does not, never will, never did" would be the answer. SE could have let them have their merry way, but they've been pos. So they made the compilation, imperfect, but there's Zack, now Zerith is coming around and with closure, Cloti is being emphasized. They added stuff for cloti and more important, reduced what was "theirs". Had cloud's mocap actor emphasize cloti and downplay ca. We even had a trailer quite literally exposing to the whole world how disgusting the idea of ca is, and if you liked it? Lol get help , your morals are astray. There's so much much more, and for some reason if this is successful, if SE actually gives a shit for art and not cheap money? Then lmao, cas made all of this happen just because they can't stop fcking things up. The existence of a problem, that needs to be fixed. Because of that, ZA will be pushed on their faces, and they will definitely not like CT more with all the sexual built up in part 1. I'm obviously joking to " thank them", of course, the devs who lost their patience are to be thanked as they've been inspired to take responsibility for their shortcomings as well. But yeah, if everyone understood OG on the get go? And AC didn't get much shit? Nobody pitied tifa? doubt we would be even getting this much content for cloti, maybe cloud, and quite especially tifa.
It's a strange journey, but I hope I'm right about them having integrity. I sure hope so. I hope they don't leave room for pity, I hope they are ruthless with it. I don't think I ship anyone but I am a sucker for a masterpiece, and I very much want this to be one.
None of the devs have ever thought about that ship, and even when asked point blank Nojima was all "idk" and had to come up with something on the spot but even that was negative because he stated Aerith cares more about the planet than she would Cloud
Which is obvious from how she has zero respect for him

I am a bit lost for words. I didn't know you'd be upset or that you've been asked the questions I asked countless times already. All the interviews I mentioned are interviews that have been known by most people in the aot fandom...
Kamiya san never said Levi and Erwin were not even friends...
Anyway, thanks for answering... I think because you've answered these questions before you kind of brushed of all my questions to tell me it wasn't canon. Please, I wasn't trying to push you to think they are canon. I simply wanted to be able to take off my own shipper goggles but your answers have still left me confuse because the wasn't any concrete answers that didn't seem like an annoyed rant.
There is so much hostility toward the Eruri fandom by Levi stans even tho there are people who literally ship Levi with Eren. It's baffling.
There's plenty there that's concrete. You brushing my answers off as "not concrete" pretty much proves my point. Nothing you noted to me or claimed has any, evidentiary backing. It's all pure speculation and assumption and applied meaning with nothing to actually back it up, which is what I told you, which is why I don't take any of it seriously. You read meaning into scenes which is colored by your bias of wanting to see it as romantic, and when I tell you so, you tell me I've offered you nothing concrete. I gave you explanations which make infinitely more sense, when taken in the context of the actual events unfolding in the story, than to simply say it's "meant to be seen as romantic". An example, you trying to imply that Levi holding the serum to his chest is somehow indicative of his feelings for Erwin, when all it is, as I explained, is Levi hesitating because he's just discovered Erwin is alive. You want it to mean that Levi's heart is hurting, or whatever, but it literally doesn't mean anything other than what I've laid out. How is that "not concrete"? I am annoyed, because I get asks like this constantly and I've repeatedly stated that I don't want to talk about this anymore, but no one ever listens. You must know my stated stance on Eruri, so you must know what my answers will be, and yet you continue to needle me about it, like you can't just simply accept my answers.
I didn't brush your questions off. I literally went through every one and gave you my legitimate thoughts on each. You presented nothing to me which proves, or even suggest that Levi is in love with Erwin, because there simply isn't anything to support the notion. What's so confusing about that? What's so hard to accept about that?
I'm not hostile toward Eruri shippers, I'm just sick of these inane, persistent and obsessive questions I get, over and over, most of which in fact are aimed at me with the intent to argue. I said I'm sorry for being harsh, but you have to understand this from my perspective.
It's beyond tiring at this point. I gave you thorough answers to your questions, you then accuse me of brushing you off and not giving you anything concrete, because they weren't the answers you wanted, and then you act confused as to why I'm being so blunt. This kind of act gets to me, this constant hiding behind a facade of innocent intent or ignorance, as if you don't know what my opinion already is. You do, I'm sure, but you keep pushing. I've talked about this particular topic more times than I can count. You provide no evidence for the things you claim Isayama has said, saying it's because you don't know how to link to the source. There's endless supplies of false rumors and mistranslations floating around out there, and none of it matters, as I've repeatedly stated, because, again, the only thing that matters is what's in the manga/anime. That' IT. Even if Isayama said whatever it is you claim he said, it doesn't matter, because those are just off-handed, spur of the moment, vague answers given without much thought in live settings, or they're interview answers given in the midst of his writing the story, which necessarily means he can't give complete, fleshed out answers to anything, either because he didn't have a fully formed picture in his head at the time of where things were going, or he couldn't reveal what he knew because it would spoil the story.
If you want to believe Levi was in love with Erwin, go right ahead. But don't pretend like there's actual, concrete evidence or proof of it in the story, because there isn't.
I've written three replies to you now, and you haven't shown an ability to accept my answers on either one. You want to believe Levi and Erwin are romantically involved, and nothing to the contrary is going to matter to you, including the lack of proof in canon. I think this conversation is done now.

WOW š im starting to wish YOU wrote the āas old as timeā book since thats the only āofficialā world building disney gave us and it was ā¦ bad š
ok ok so everything made sense but i still got some questions .. im so sorry š
so before i ask about time, how old do you think adam was before the curse? i see in the remake the change from āif he could learn to love before his 21st bdayā to āif he could learn to love before the LAST PETAL FELLā so now im like how much time was that really ?? i mean obviously ur right on the whole time freezing if they felt like removing a key plot point of it all happening before adams 21st and the whole eternal winter fiasco, so whatever adams age was before the curse was the same after?? So im asking a follow up bc im still a bit confused if youāre saying the gap between the WHOLE curse is january to june? am i getting this right lmk š i seriously think someday you should write a timeline on ur beauty and the beast world bc i am loving this theory sm?? literally everywhere else is yapping about it being 10 years (some are saying the curse was 21 years!!) and the enchantress being belles mom for some reason??? literally so silly š£ļø anyway idk man ur ideas r just refreshing for this fandom ngl š anyway thxs for answering my questions dude <33
AAHH iām smiling SO WIDE!!! i love this so much !!! yeah yeah yeah
okay SO! yes, because batb 2017 changed the parameters of the curse, itās up to us to decide his age! i actually decided a while ago that i would make him 21. this was mainly to honor batb 1991, but i also like that he was young. and you didnāt ask this, but i headcanon belle is 20. theyāre a couple of younginās!! belle turned 20 in may, the movie takes place in june, and adam will turn 22 in august. SO yes he was 21 when he was cursed, and just 21 the whole time. thatās just my timeline for ya. i think belle is surprised to learn how close in age they are, when adam inevitably reveals his age to her when theyāre courting. i think adam has Always been old for his age. (caused by childhood trauma and also just his personality) and iām sure being cursed sort of āagedā him a bit too. something i love about them is that while belle is mature for her age as well, she is also able to bring out the child in him. he laughs with her, they play with and tease each other. theyāre best friends, always. so he IS young, but heās never really matched his actual age. lifeās been difficult for him, despite the royal status :(
as for the timeframe of the curse, yeah that works!! iām not too fussy about how many months exactly it has been, but i think six months is a solid number, and a storm in january makes just as much sense as anything. some day, when iām feeling extra insane, i want to develop my own formula for how time compares in and out of the curse. like one real day equals one curse week, or something like that. iāll do that some day lol. but for now iām just vague about it. they were under the curse for MONTHS (six works nicely) and it FELT like a couple/few YEARS. belle was at the castle for five days (according to gaston), so how long did it FEEL like she was there? i think her and adam spent weeks, maybe months, falling in love. once she spent the night there, i think she fell into their frozen timeline as well. (maurice doesnāt experience it because he doesnāt sleep there!) which is kind of cool!! i love writing extra scenes that happen during the curse, because in my view, a lot more time passes in that period. which is evident (to me) in the nature of their rapport and dynamic. they donāt seem like two people who have only known each other for 5 days, do they? :ā)
as to your lamentations, i can only sympathize. while i do love and respect batb 1991, it really has some frustrating plotholes for people who like digging into lore & canon. and i hate to start up comparisons, but iāll just say iām quite thankful for everything batb 2017 does to button up those issues. the ten years thing is rough, because that IS was 91 lumiere says! iād have a hard time refuting that, myself. as you may have noticed, iām quite the canon girlie lmao. i think lumiere was just being dramatic and hyperbolic, which lends to 17 lumiere singing ātoo longā instead of āten yearsā ā which i am so thankful for. the 21 years isā¦ ludicrous? i have no idea how people could get there. maybe they think adam was cursed from birth ??? ugh. donāt get me started on people who forget that he was born a human being, AND DESERVES TO BE A HUMAN BEING AFTER THE CURSE IS LIFTED. iāll blow a fuse. anyway!!
the enchantress being belleās mother theory is i BELIEVE from a book thatās like batb but with a twist? i think thereās a whole series of books that are disney movies with wild twists. and for the batb one, itās that her mother was the enchantress. iām not ever going to read that, because itās ridiculous, and canon is my beloved best friend that doesnāt need changing. but yeah i think thatās where that comes from. whateva. i have lots of lovely lore about belleās beloved mama alreadyš
thank you again for your kindness and appreciation of my thoughts!!!! i canāt express enough how much it means to me. thank you a million timesš
#as always please continue to ask questions if youāre confused. it is literally okay and i could talk about this forever šššš#you donāt know how happy youāre making me truly like šš answering batb2017 asks?????? iām on cloud 9 dude <3 thank YOU šššš#batb meta#batb headcanons#batb 2017#anonymous#answered

(nothing serious under the cut, just petty frustration)
every time i pull open a fic that takes place post-brucequest and im having a grand old time and then the fic has tim and dick be on bad terms or has tim mention something about "dick threatening to send him to arkham" and i have to just. scream into a fucking pillow. bc a) DICK LITERALLY NEVER DID THAT HE JUST SUGGESTED THAT TIM GET THERAPY BECAUSE TIM LOST SO MANY PEOPLE IN SO SHORT A PERIOD OF TIME. LIKE YEAH HE DIDNT BELIEVE THAT BRUCE WAS ALIVE BUT ALSO TIM DIDNT PROVIDE ANY EVIDENCE HE KEPT IT ALL TO HIMSELF UNTIL HE HAD DEFINITIVE PROOF BECAUSE. AND HE EVEN ADMITTED THIS TO HIMSELF. TIM ONLY "KNEW" BRUCE WAS LOST IN TIME AT FIRST BECAUSE HE HAD TO BELIEVE IT WAS TRUE FOR HIS OWN SAKE. and b) tell me you fundamentally do not understand their relationship without telling me you fundamentally do not understand their relationship.
canonically. during brucequest (the first half of red robin) tim ignored, deleted, and avoided everyone who tried to contact him before he was Officially Back In Gotham after the fight with ra's. to the point where lucius fox had to physically send his daughter to try and bring tim back. EXCEPT.
when dick called. he picked up. (and then he had to come back to gotham briefly to help deal with the blackest night zombie problem before going back to what he was doing)
but like. he was on rough terms with dick. he was ACTIVELY LEADING the LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS. and yet tim is still immediately ride and die for dick. tim canonically has contingencies for literally everyone he interacts with EXCEPT FOR DICK. HE SAYS HE NEVER WILL HAVE ONE FOR DICK. HE LOVES AND TRUSTS HIS BROTHER IMPLICITLY!!
like. yeah tim probably wont be as open with dick about his mental health. and all that. but like. while he was hurt by dicks actions, i dont think he was ever actually angry at dick. not really
tim telling him "youre my brother, youll always be there to catch me" is as much an i forgive you as it is a you can never know how ready i was to die there
just the same as dick asking him "how did you know id be there" is as much a im sorry i wasnt there for you these past few months as it was a please tell me you knew id show up, somehow
sometimes! common fanon is a lie!! and also directly contradicts canon!! and frankly sometimes!!! common fanon!! is WORSE!! anyway at this point i think anyone who writes anything even relating vaguely to the events of red robin (2009) needs to read red robin (2009). its only like 26 issues and you can find the whole run on readcomicsonline i promise you its not that big of a hardship. if you want content warnings hmu im planning on making a spreadsheet for it anyway
#rrm.txt#just complaining about fanon trends in batman fic dont worry about it#fuck whatever bruce has going on i need to examine tim and dicks pre-n52 relationship under a fucking microscope#also if you want receipts for anything i stated as happening. also hmu i will grab screenshots i am so autistic abt this comic run

Yeah, the word choice is really what I don't get about this debate. I don't even disagree with some of the points made about what Will needs to overcome or how he fucked up in S3-4. But calling it selfishness is just vague gestures not it ? For me at least ? Selfish as a word is very precisely "caring only about yourself and not about others" (according to Cambridge dictionary), and that's not really where Will's issues reside in any of those moments he's said to be "selfish" in.
If you take the painting scene for instance:
Will is projecting his own feelings for Mike onto El. This is unfair because it complicates their relationship needlessly, and neither of them need that right now. It's not a selfish thing to do when the only person he cares about in this scene is Mike, aka not Will himself. You could argue it's unfair to El, which is true, but I wouldn't call it selfishness either since he's, again, doing it for Mike's sake, not his own. Doing something that hurts you for someone else's sake is by definition not selfish, and I would say it still doesn't qualify even if it hurts others (that one is more debatable I'll admit). It is selfless; even if, in this precise case, it's also close to self-sabotage that won't benefit anyone long term.
You can't use a scene that is essentially Will ripping his own heart out to make Mike happy and secure in himself as a way to demonstrate selfishness. It doesn't work when it simply doesn't align with why Will is actually doing it. Will's lack of self esteem is what drives him: Mike would obviously like the painting better if it came from cool and wonderful superhero girlfriend El, rather than from plain old gay Will Byers deluding himself into the idea that Mike could ever like him like that (not true from Mike's reactions in the scene, but that's what's going on in his head imo).
There is an aspect of self-preservation and hiding in that scene that could be qualified as selfishness, but I personally don't like the idea that staying in the closet is selfish on Will's part, especially considering Mike's track record (the rain fight) and the overall climate Will grew up in. If anything, he probably thinks he's doing everyone a favour by hiding that part of himself.
Ironically, in Will's own eyes, the painting lie is the moment where Will stops being selfish, where he lets go after holding on too tight for too long, where he rips off the bandaid for good. It's the moment where he gives up his own happiness, because he deep down believes he doesn't deserve it and won't ever get it : that is what Will's low point in the story is, not a vague and badly setup selfishness he apparently needs to overcome.
It's not entirely character regression or a result of UD trauma either: it's the exact same behaviour Joyce described in S2: giving away your toy because the person is sad, aka giving away what you want because you believe others need it more. Is this behaviour still hurting people ? Yes ! Is it selfish ? No, not to me at least. A better word should be found because this one doesn't describe the actual situation well.
A similar thing can be said about using Will's trauma response as evidence for selfishness. Will isn't thinking about himself over others here (aka what being selfish is). He's quite literally not thinking or choosing anything because it's trauma, which he doesn't control.
That doesn't mean it's not going to be a point of growth next season ! Will will learn to overcome his trauma response in S5, it's pretty much guaranteed given the setup. But describing that trauma response as selfish is not entirely fair to me either, since it completely lacks the actual motivator of selfishness: choosing yourself over others.
An actual selfish move on Will's part would be not helping El even after he's not frozen anymore, or protecting himself from association with her: he never actually does that in canon, because it's never been about protecting himself. It's about an involuntary fear response still ending up hurting others (how fitting then that this fear response is deeply associated with the dangerous supernatural threats coming to hurt everyone around him, aka the Mind Flayer/Vecna).
Honestly, the best way to describe the whole situation to me is this : if your analysis starts sounding like something Vecna would tell Will to make him feel bad, you're probably coming at it unfairly. Some of the conclusions made in those posts are apt, but the wording isn't most of the times.
will byers is only selfish insofar as how will constantly putting himself down and undervaluing his own worth ends up hurting the people that love him.
he also prioritizes hiding and blending in as opposed to action, which led to him freezing in response to el's bullies. but am i going to call him selfish for something he's done like once so far? no.
everyone is selfish to some extent, and some degree of selfishness is necessary. I think will could bear to be more selfish in multiple scenarios. I just think choosing the word 'selfish' among many other choices to talk about a character that constantly sacrifices his own well being for others will come off as disingenuous.

Your bias for Adler is showing and a lot of the things you source as āevidenceā for the safe house crew forming attachment to Bell is your view through rose-tinted glasses. Anyone who was in the loop about MKUltra saw Bell as a tool or a science experiment, a brainwashed red to used against their own collective. You can say everyoneās perception is valid, but it doesnāt mean that it doesnāt contradict canon behavior.
Cool :)
#i was going to write a politely worded message explaining my pov#but im tired and ultimately i'd just be running in circles here#long story short: this game is about perception and how you see these characters is entirely your perception#canonical evidence is vague and can point to literally just about anything#and the devs did that on purpose#that post was somebody asking my opinion and i gave my own based upon what i saw during the campaign#to be clear im not hating on anon#nor do i think anon was hating on me#the opinion i expressed wasn't really even sucking adler's dick idk what i said about him wasn't that optimistic#it seems rather true to his character imo#im sorry if this sounds super incoherent and didn't address all your points anon#im tired and words seem to fail me rn lmao

Whatās the implication of the Marx soul mask does that mean. Marx soul canonically existed?? Did magolor meet marx soul??????? Iām going insane (this is like the fourth thing rtdl dx made canon what the hell)
So, when I first booted up RtDL DX and got the "Merry Magoland" intro, I remember being a little confused.
Another place? Another time?
I started a new game in Japanese and while the text is BASICALLY the same (no mistranslations or anything) the implication here was much more like "at some point in theĀ futureĀ Magolor built a theme park for his friends."
Which basically sets Merry Magoland as post-Star Allies/post-Forgotten Land. I mean, we'll need to wait for the inevitable Nintendo Dream interview to see if I'm right, but...
When I first joined the fandom, I didn't realize this was as hot a take as it turns out to be but, <HOT TAKE WARNING> I've never subscribed to the "all post-game modes aren't canon" thing. I play along with it because a lot of the fandom does, and "maybe Galactca Knight will finally be canon" is a funny joke, but I think people have taken the commentary from Planet Robobot too far, using as evidence that nothing post game is "canon." I don't buy it. I think you're just hurting your own Kirby experience by taking that too seriously. Maybe it doesn't happen in a linear fashion, maybe it's an AU or an alternate story, but are these games showing us things that happened, in one form or another? Yes, I say! (And I'll have more to say about that when I talk about...other things...)
--
(Merry Magoland mask spoilers below. Nothing but vague spoilers regarding the game itself. ....I think...)
But if you really want your brain broken in regards to Merry Magoland masks and questionable canonicity, there's also a mask of Dark Matter Blade's HWC-manufactured CLONE in Magoland, and that boss ONLY showed up in PR's "non-canon" mode. So, yeah!
Long story short, Marx Soul has always been canon to me. I'd say, either Magolor heard some of these stories from the characters, or (more likely?) he happened to witness some of these events himself during his (implied) many extra-dimensional travels.
Maybe every time you see the Lor passing by in the background as an easter egg, OUR Magolor is in fact on that ship, watching!
The thing you said at the end! I think that's probably one of the biggest points in favor of the Marx Soul encounter BEING canon in some reality or another space and time we don't see.
But yes, basically that! Without Marx (Soul) absorbing Nova's parts to survive/be energized enough to move again, we really don't know how else he would have survived or how he gotten back.
And now that the epilogue's existence means we know people can (canonically ^^; ) "...go Soul" and survive, we have all the context necessary to suggest that Marx was seriously roughed up after the explosion, survived via Nova, went Soul, fought Kirby, and then, upon being cleaved in two, either had his own journey through another dimension/purgatory or he was found by Magolor immediately afterwards and returned to Pop Star after getting better!
Or he just...responded back on Pop Star after being cleaved in two! Because I still believe that most life in the Kirby verse doesn't "die" the way we humans think of death. I think "going Soul" is in fact dangerous, and maybe Nova being some kind of perpetual motion machine fused with Marx IS why he's still around, but mainly, I hold that there are very extenuating circumstances as to why the seemingly "perma-MiA" characters like Blade (spawn of a hive mind who had yet to develop full individuality/was reabsorbed back into the hivemind) Zero (died twice, may still be out there somewhere), Sectonia (still "alive" because fused with the dreamstalk), and Haltmann (literally had his soul data erased) have yet to revive.
Oh! And speaking of the being cleaved in two thing and Marx Soul, fufufu, I just want to shout and point randomly at my Marx is a Nightmare Wizard!possessed Noddy essay because I learned only recently that, unrelated to RtDL, Masked Dedede's "mask" absolutely has its origins in DARK MIND'S power?!
And if that's "word of god" canon, then there's no way you're going to convince me that Marx Soul's necklace didn't come from Nightmare Wizard in SOME form. (Sad that wasn't part of the mask render, btw. Since the sprite makes it so vague...)
#Kirby#Marx#Marx Soul#Marx Kirby#RtDL DX#Merry Magoland#...mask spoilers#Most of the rest of this is just classic Dess Marx-speculation

@ everyone pissed about the Teen Wolf movie ending...
this is the most controversial thing iāve voiced my opinion on, so...before i say what iām about to, i want to make it clear that i love derek hale with my entire heart and iāve put in countless hours writing fics to give him a life of happiness and healing and love. that being addressed, iām not upset by the ending of the Teen Wolf movie. yes, iām okay with derekās passing. hereās why:
1 |Ā i love that he was made out to be a wonderful dad. his primary focus was always about eli. the strides he clearly took to become the dad eli deserved are evident in the proper house they lived in, the lacrosse games he attended, the way he tried to suppress his own shift just because he thought he traumatized eli as a kid, etc. eli was not afraid of pissing him off by stealing the jeep and being a brat, so we know derek was likely not a hard-ass with him. this is major character growth from the last time we saw him, and i think that can be attributed to becoming a father. i canāt express how much i love dad!derek.
2 |Ā i understand the frustration behind his death involving fire, but honestly, i think it was a way he could potentially be written back into a future installment. it wasnāt normal fireļæ½ļæ½ļæ½it was jordanās hellfire. i can very easily see how jeff (or fic writers) could come up with a storyline where derek is brought back from hell/afterlife, if necessary. what we know is that his eyes turned red (true alpha?) and then he disappeared into the hellfireāthere was no body, no bones, no anything left behind to prove that he was dead. jeff couldāve easily left his burnt body there to get the point across, if he wanted. i really think it was a way to write a vague enough ending to derek that they could do something with it, if hoechlin agreed to come back for another movie.
3 |Ā hoechlin is not trying to be a part of this series anymore. the fact that jeff got him back for this movie was impressive, considering he doesnāt seem to have as much reliance on Teen Wolf as some of the other actors do. it was clear throughout the movie that jeff is trying to set eli up to be the newĀ āTeen Wolfā, and i have to say, iām so glad that jeff understood that a hale needed to be the focus and protector of beacon hills. itās hale territory, not scottās.
i would rather derek (potentially) die protecting his territory and son, than have jeff fuck his characterization again by making him absent from future installments while his son is risking his life as a main character, fighting off the bullshit of beacon hills. derek would never leave eli to fight those battles without him, unless he was dead. so if hoechlin isnāt coming back for future movies, and eli is meant to be the new Teen Wolf, i want derek to be dead. iād be absolutely livid if jeff made another movie focused on eli, and derek wasnāt there beside him. that would be the biggest fuck-you to derekās character growth jeff couldāve done.
4Ā |Ā canon literally isnāt real to us, you guys. a huge portion of our fandom hasnāt even seen the show. weāre so good at picking and choosing what we keep or ignore, because weāre fortunate enough to have a massive collection of fanfictions and art which rewrite everything thousands of different ways. instead of getting so worked up about canon shit, we can literally just go find fics of the versions we like better lol. we have such an amazing fandom that canon holds so little weight compared to the content we create. just take the things you liked from the movie and ignore the rest.
#teen wolf movie#teen wolf movie spoilers#teen wolf#sterek#unpopular take#you dont have to agree with me#just think about it maybe#im just seeing post after post about people being pissed and i needed to voice my thoughts

Wanda was canonically born in 1989. Agent Woo states this in Wandavision, itās on the mcu Wiki, and the official mcu timeline book states that AoU occurred in 2015. So in AoU, she was 26, and assuming that she and Pietro had been with Hydra for maybe 5 years before that (and it definitely wasnāt even that long, but Iām being generous), she wouldāve been about 21 when she first volunteered. Following the official timeline, she wouldāve been 27 in Civil War, 29 in Infinity War, and still 29 in Endgame due to snap logic.
So, based on the fact that brains arenāt fully done developing until the mid 20s, Wandaās brain wouldāve been developed by the time she first appeared in the mcu, because she was 26 then. And even though Iāll concede that 21 year olds are still very immature and should definitely still be considered kids, thereās only so much wiggle room that ātheir brain isnāt fully developedā argument can give you. Thatās a valid response to a 21 year old laying out of work to party or driving drunk. It would not be a valid response to a 21 year old, say, murdering someone. Wanda signed up to work for terrorists, caused massive amounts of destruction and collateral death, and went on a mission to kill a group of people for revenge. At that point, using the argument that sheās just immature isnāt gonna cut it.
Screen Rant is not a reliable source in general. They arenāt affiliated with Marvel in any way and they constantly get things wrong. The above paragraphs are literally just them assuming she was about 16 based on one vague line from Clint and then basing the entire rest of their age timeline off of that. And the article you linked is outdated (from 2020), from before we had any canon evidence about her age- itās just the Screen Rant writers speculating about it. Their speculations ended up being incorrect. Wanda was factually never a teen during her onscreen time in the mcu.
All of that being said, I do agree with you that her being imperfect is what makes her an interesting character. Sheās had very unheroic tendencies since she entered the mcu, and that actually separates her from the rest of the avengers. It makes her complex. It gives her depth of character. And I like that in a superhero (hell, I should know. Iām a loki fan! lol). But when fans make excuses for her and argue that she just wasnāt in her right mind etc, that diminishes that depth.
And finally, as to the line in the show: itās hypocritical as hell. Not even getting into how problematic it is to have the token black woman say that to the white woman whoās been beating the shit out of her for like 7 straight episodes. Wanda saying āit wouldnāt change how they see meā forlornly, as if it should change how these people sheās held captive and tortured see her. It doesnāt matter what she sacrificed to save the world- these people didnāt ask her to do that and they donāt owe her for doing it. Wanda chose to, selflessly. Thatās what made it heroic. And doing something good for someone in the past doesnāt mean they shouldnāt be angry when you do something bad to them in the present. The whole implication that these victims of Wandaās should be grateful to her for her past actions instead of being angry that she traumatised them in returnā¦. yeah thatās hilarious. And the fact that wasnāt doing it on purpose at first (because she realised halfway through and still chose to keep going so she could hold onto her fantasy) means nothing in this context. If I had an emotional breakdown where I disconnected from reality and held some folks hostage in my basement and tortured them for a few weeks, it wouldnāt matter that I was having a mental health crisis. They would hate me for what I did, and theyād have every right to.
Anyway, this isnāt meant to be an attack or anything. I know Iāve defended some of my favs more than I should have in the past. And really, itās fiction. Itās based on the viewerās perception. So itās impossible to have a wrong opinion on it- if you think her being somewhat young justifies her actions a bit, thatās perfectly valid! And you know what, she has been through severe trauma her entire life so itās understandable if fans see that as a reason to forgive her too. And Iām not even being sarcastic, Wandaās a super fascinating and empathetic character. Just because the fandom/narrative ruins her a bit for me doesnāt mean it should for other people. Iām glad you responded to my post, though. I love ranting lol.
Friendly reminder that Wanda was a whole ass adult in Civil War (27), also an adult in Age of Ultron (26) & most likely even an adult when she signed up to work with Hydra (23-24 maybe).
Like not even college age, but full-on adult. Pushing 30.
The whole āsheās just a kidā argument is bullshit.

The second AU inspired by this dream is less simple:
It's time for a Jessica Jones AU of Miraculous Ladybug. (This means things are... dark.)
@firebirdeternal and I initially joked around with this
Firebirdeternal: JJ flavored older Marinette who is, in fact, a huge hot mess, being time-travelled to Spunky Teen Superhero canon-adjacent Paris Something something wearing the miraculous for so long gave her Passive Superpowers so she literally just jumps through Gabe's Fancy Villain Skylight and punches him in the dick
phoenixyfriend: Chugs a beer (ugh, so American, what did you DO in New York?), crushes the can, skips the Akuma issue to punch Gabe in the facehole
but eventually knuckled down and drew up an actual AU structure.
Let's go! This will meander. Bear with me.
So we have Hot Mess Marinette, whose traumas are very different from those of Jessica Jones, but resulted in a similar air of 'just give me a drink and something to punch so I can stop feeling like trash for a bit.' I like Birdie's comment about the passive superpowers, so we're keeping that.
A JJ AU needs a competent mean lesbian to be a sharky lawyer, and I've decided that's Lila. She's giving PI Marinette jobs for court stuff (find evidence of an affair, serve a subpoena, etc), as her Jeri Hogarth.
Lila would make a good politician. She's got great hair and loves lying.
We're setting this in Chicago. Both of them moved out of Paris for different but similar reasons, boiling down to 'holy shit, trauma' and 'I don't want anyone who knew me as a teenager to know me now.'
Birdie:
They both sass each other constantly, and everybody who sees them interact for five minutes would swear that they hate each other, but low-key they're extremely close and can always count on the other to come pick them up when they're wasted (And make fun of their outfit) while dragging them home Lila + Marinette friendship based on the fact that Marinette is the only person Lila doesn't feel any compulsion to be liked by so she can actually express herself honestly with her and vice-versa
Marinette is such a mess these days that she's almost ashamed of being seen by her old friends BUT she's never cared what Lila thinks, and Lila pays her to serve subpoenas, so.
Yes, that's it exactly! "You don't expect me to be anything other than a Fucking Mess so I don't have to feel guilty about being a fucking mess"
I'm imagining that like, years post canon, everybody from the old Miraculous Crew has done remarkably well for themselves (on paper) and Marinette feels like a fucking wreck because Never-fully-processed PTSD from being a Child Superhero and her only social connections are either people who Didn't Know Her or people she can be comfortable being a mess around (Lila)
(Lila is having an affair with her secretary. Just. That part of the Jeri thing is very important to me.)
(Lila and Marinette messed around a bit, before Marinette dropped out of college for the aforementioned trauma-and-burnout reasons, when she was still trying to keep it together and thought Maybe It's Just A Sexuality Crisis I Can Kiss My Way Out Of.)
also, idea for general/vague plot points: Marinette "I can't bother my friends they're all well adjusted and successful within their field and I'm a wreck"
Alya "I can't shake the horrible feeling that all my success as a blogger/reporter is based on the fact that as a teenager I hit the Popularity Lottery by randomly being best friends with a superhero and everything I've built from that point on feels like a huge lie that I don't deserve"
Nino "I'm a touring musician with success and notoriety but I've lost touch with all my friends from highschool which makes me feel like a sellout bastard and I'd trade it all away to have them back except I'm terrified they wouldn't have me so I can't let go of material gains"
Adrien "I have exactly three neurons remaining that aren't drowning in stress and guilt about the fact that my Fashion Empire was built by my supervillain father and I never had the chance to figure out who Ladybug was before it all came tumbling down and I have no way to contact her or any of my other friends because I've convinced myself they'd all resent me for my father's actions anyways"
Chloe "Is actually remarkably well adjusted because she went to therapy and ditched her abusive family and is living her best life in her own lane and is probably the one Marinette runs into first"
Kagami is Marinette's Matt. The blindness was hereditary and hit in their twenties. Mostly I want Lawyer Kagami, and in regards to her and Lila being in the same field, I think they're unrelated lawyers who do different work? Lila does mostly civil suits.
I am also just like, deeply into "Lila is a lawyer because it lets her weaponize her Worst Traits to do Good in the world" and also "Lila does not by any measure actually stop being a huge bitch or actively problematic in her personal life" she's just like, actively trying to shovel garbage out of the world in order to personally make up for the share she put into it. Does a lot of divorce cases for abused spouses pro-bono, still definitely cheats on her fiance with her secretary.
"I am committed to making the world a better, safer place" "Do you want to examine any of your personal actions in the face of that statement?" "No"
A mess, but a shiny one. Chloe got therapy, Lila got a law degree.
Chloe got therapy and a motorcycle and a punk undercut and the only member of her family she regularly talks to is her half-sister. (And her dad on his birthday. He was incompetent but not Evil.) (Also shoutout to the Crimson Vision version of Chloe for being my ideal Headcanon for Adult Chloe)
I LOVE CV CHLOE SO MUCH
I feel like Kagami visits Lila for Law Reasons and runs into Marinette in the lobby, and it's deeply awkward for everyone (except Lila, who thrives on drama), because this is the first time anyone's seen Marinette in years.
Alya, after the gossip reaches her with Marinette's new contact info: SERIOUSLY? ILLINOIS? YOU LEFT PARIS FOR ILLINOIS?
Marinette and Lila both wanted a fresh start and NYC wasn't an option because Chloe.
Kagami and Chloe bullied their way into staying friends with Adrien and Nino still makes the effort so Adrien does in fact have a girl gang. (Per Birdie, it lessens the "Everyone's a hot mess bitch let's get you some fruite" vibes, but it's also still good.)
Lila seems like the kind of overachiever that would have a license to practice law in both the US and France. She makes her big fancy return to Paris for something insane like "Ivan was framed for triple homicide" and she's decided to take the case Pro Bono (and dragged Marinette along with her).
Marinette just bulldozes her way through the investigation and it scares the shit out of everyone. She has a "Talks about their city like they kind of want to have sex with it" monologue in Paris.
Lila gets Complaints about Marinette and just laughs it off. This has been happening for years, people. She's not concerned. This is the new normal, friends!
Alya: Girl I haven't heard from you in three years and NOW you come back with Lila of all people, smelling like a distillery and punching information out of people?
everyone expects her to be the Clever Inspiring Leader and instead she's just. The Tank. Plows through obstacles and drags people out of bars into the alley to have a Talk with them.
segue but Chloe is the Kristen Stewart of this reality in the "Is incredibly, visibly gay, just short of Actively Having Sex with her Girlfriend in Public, and all the tabloids call them Pals and speculate on whether she and Adrien are in a relationship" sense Chloe: Okay so maybe I was carrying a bit of a torch for Little Miss Perfect in high school so what" Lila: Bitch you were carrying a roadside emergency flare and repressing so hard you tried to drown it in a lake"
Marinette, pretending to not be in the hotel room when Alya comes by: Lila you have to cover for me make up an excuse you're good at that Lila: Hey Alya, yeah no Marinette's not here right now, do you want me to tell her you dropped by? Alya: uh... yeah that would be good. Sure. Lila: [turns her head] Alya dropped by. Anyways I'm gonna go get some coffee you two sort your shit out before I get back [opens the door wide open as she leaves]
Bitch Love her
helpful bitch! Ain't nobody got time for this shit, get the messy crying stuff over with she already knows you're going to be fine afterwards!
"You shacked up with LILA?" "Hell no, she's already got a fiancee AND a mistress, I'm not getting involved with that." "Oh. So you didn't sleep with Lila then." "... I didn't say THAT."
Alya, certified Flannel Wearer, looking at Lila walk down the hallway in heels and a nice suit ".... okay yeah fuck I can't throw stones here"
what if all the Miraculous Kids kept some measure of power after Whatever Happened Happened? So there's an element of like "How are you so sure that Ivan didn't murder those people?" "Because he didn't level a city block in the process, Lila. We'd know if something made him lose his temper." to that angle of the plot.
hmmmmm no Kwamis, because however the final nonsense with Gabemoth went down they all had to go dormant for a while to recover? (no Trauma related to it other than "Wait what do you mean my emotional support Cute Magical Mentor isn't going to be around to give me advice any more" but isn't that enough when you're also a Teen Superhero who never got therapy?) And that's part of why Marinette is spiraling so hard?
Marinette "Why didn't I keep the good luck powers my life is a mess" Tikki, in the Great Beyond "Because I am trying to use coincidence magic to make you confront your trauma in a healthy way and reconnect with your friends but you keep turning LEFT and getting DRUNK you IDIOT MORTAL CHILD WHOM I LOVE" [banging her head into the fabric of reality]

FACT CHECK: Did JKR sue people for writing Wolfstar fanfiction? [FALSE] [with sources]
So, if you're at all active in the HP fandom, and ESPECIALLY if you're on TikTok, you've likely come across a post or video claiming the following:
JKR LITERALLY SUED PEOPLE OVER WOLFSTAR FANFICTION! AND THAT'S ALSO WHY SHE MADE REMADORA CANON -- TO SPITE THE SHIPPERS!
I'm not sure who first started this claim or how its various permutations grew, but it spread at the speed of light across social media. This widely-circulated meme summarizes it:
For the LONGEST time, I didn't know what to make of it. The claims were vague enough that they seemed like they could be true -- after all, JKR is a megacunt and a renowned TERF. You don't need to fact-check either of those things.
But then -- for the first time ever -- I came across a video on TikTok claiming that what was being said was NOT true, and that it was being used SPECIFICALLY to stir up drama. Which was... crazy, to say least.
And that led me, well, to do my own research & fact-check. I've taken the original video's structure and added some exposition as well.
So here's the truth:
That 2003 case the above meme refers to? Not even REMOTELY what the situation was about. Hell, not even CLOSE.
In 2003, JKR sent a cease-and-desist letter to an explicit adult HP fan fiction website, called "Restricted Section". Here's the letter:
As the above letter states, the site was sent a notice because of overarching concerns that minors would accidentally stumble onto the sexually explicit content the site hosted after searching up 'Harry Potter'.
The hand-wringing over minor safety probably seems dated now, but it was, in fact, standard practice in the early 2000s - sexually explicit fan content was being removed across the internet for those exact concerns. In fact, just the year before, in 2002, fanfiction.net was purged of NC-17 content (which would happen one more time, in 2012).
I feel ridiculous stating it, but just to be clear -- in the above letter and all my subsequent research, there's NO evidence she went after Wolfstar -- or any ship, for that matter -- directly.
In fact, the letter goes an extra mile to declare that "our clients (JKR) make no complaint about innocent fan fiction written by genuine Harry Potter fans", but that, "there is plainly a very real risk that impressionable children... will be directed... to your sexually explicit website".
But that leads in nicely to the next point -- the website DIDN'T shut down, as per the letter's request. Instead, they added password protection to ensure only members older than 17 were accessing it.
OK, but why did JKR and Warner Bros go after this site in the first place? Most believe it was because of a widely-publicized article in THE SCOTSMAN that talked about the website. But, once again, this article doesn't go after Wolfstar in particular -- it only goes after Harry x Draco and Harry x Snape. The inclusion of latter was arguably what generated the biggest controversy -- the pairing of Harry, a fictional minor, with an adult character, in slash stories largely written by adult heterosexual women, was not one that could be cast in a good light to the general public. It's hardly a surprise JKR's lawyers sought to do something before the controversy got out of hand and worried parents started to make calls.
What I said before still goes, though. The legal core of the issue was ALWAYS to do NOT with the ships, but the EXPLICIT NATURE of the work -- and the (very real) concerns that the series' then-mostly-under-18 readership could find said works with very little as far as guardrails were concerned. (I know, because I was one of those kids)
TLDR; JKR did NOT sue people over Wolfstar fanfiction, she sent a cease-and-desist notice to a website that was not taking adequate precautions to prevent minors from accessing the explicit adult content on the site.
To be clear -- this is not meant to be a statement on what to ENJOY in your fandom ships. You can ship Wolfstar, Remadora, both, neither -- it really doesn't matter. I think the fandom is critical enough of the author to have reclaimed her work on our own terms, and people should be allowed to just, idk enjoy things.
But propagating straight-up falsehoods is dangerous, especially when it comes at the expense of 1) a safe fandom environment (see: the current fandom ship wars between Remadora and Wolfstar, which are difficult to watch) and 2) serves as a distraction from the ACTUAL garbage JKR engages in (of which there is plenty -- no need to make it up lol).
Also, truth be told -- inter-fandom ship wars don't generally add anything productive to the necessary conversations that need to be had about her works. The thought that dashing fan ships was a key motivator in her writing rather than, I don't know, plot concerns, is ludicrous on face, and gives fans a level of control over the original writer that just... doesn't exist IRL? And certainly didn't back then?
And again -- the books would have been VERY different series, plot-wise, if Sirius Black HAD lived. Him being in a relationship with Remus, confirmed or implied, has no relation to that decision.
If we have talk Harry Potter, I'd rather talk about just about anything else -- the racism, the misogyny, the lack of any sort of organic queer rep and JKR's inability to just own up to the problems in her works. But the minutiae of ship wars -- and the inevitable stream of disinformation that comes with it, sans any kind of concrete evidence -- is one I'd prefer to pass on.
