sometimes, when you have nothing to do, he invites you to the students council room and makes you sit beside him, he likes the silence thereʼs in the room while you draw whatever is on your mind while he finishes his work.

his grades are excellent so of course he shines in art class, he gives really good advices on how you can get better with your art, drawing / painting with him is really fun and relaxing.

if you gift him a drawing of him or you two together heʼll make sure to put it in a frame, beside the pictures with his siblings so he can see it everyday; heʼll praise you a lot and maybe gift you a drawing as well, as a thank you.

heʼs literally your number one supporter, always been since the start, he definitely takes pictures to every single drawing u make, even if itʼs just one doodle on the end of your note book or on your arm.

talking about doodling on someoneʼs skin, he will scream like a fan girl if you ask to draw on his arm, it could be anything really: smiling faces, lil shining stars, flowers.. he will cherish them till they completely faid away when heʼs washing himself up he will be sad about it too.

i wouldnʼt try to ask him for suggestions on how to make your art better though, he will always compliment whatever you draw, even if itʼs just a literal stick men, he cannot manage to criticize you and your art.

believe me when i say he will go feral if you draw him or both of you together. Imagine handing him a small drawing of you two holding hands w little hearts as decorations, and each second his face gets more and more red.. heʼll probably stick it to his ceiling, right in front of his bed so that it will be the first thing he sees in the morning and last thing he sees before closing his eyes to sleep.

i think she'd be really amused about the fact that you both like art and spend most of your days drawing, you both support and help eachother when the other needs help or suggestions.

since you two share the same passion, expect to do some works together with shijima, maybe like you both seat in front of eachother and draw the other or draw shared parts of a singular painting, you know things like that if you understood.. where you both have fun.

more than one time, she definitely chose you as her subject for various drawings / paintings for her school's art competitions, and every time she would win, sheʼd give you her art piece for you to keep it.

if you ask her for suggestions on how to get better at drawing, you better be ready cause she will say everything that is on her mind, she doesnʼt say it in a mean way of course but you asked her for art criticism and thatʼs exactly what sheʼll give you

im sorry but ill just never buy into this narrative. you dont have to agree with me when i say i forgive him or talk about the sympathetic traits i find in him but on this case i just cannot be swayed and im not taking talk backs. it doesnt make sense for his character nor for the story and theres a very easy very interesting interpretation of that frame anyway (he sees the funeral from the outside through his phone because his crime was entirely online and, unlike the other characters, there isnt a set location for anything pre/during/post murder. cause it was in his phone)

and on a personal opinion. taking this so literally and SWEARING up and down he physically showed up to the girl's house kind of defeats the whole point of his themes. every character has set themes and a societal problematic they represent (haruka- child neglect, the result of abandoning and outcasting someone from society all their life. shidou- dubious medical decisions, the ethics of very specific situations in the medical field. mikoto- overworking and masking, the consequences of a society that forces its people to conform to a norm, etc) and futa's is the mob mentality and shield enforced by social media that can easily corrupt anyone at all no matter how pure or noble their initial intentions/morals are. its about the twitter users that will kickstart harrassment campaigns before fact checking or over the most innocuous things (see: kpoptwt currently making up the most gross allegations en masse about the group lesserafim because of a made up rivalry with their label mate newjeans). if futa breached that line between online and real life by physically showing up to his victim's house (be it before or after the fact) the initial themes fall apart. cause then he's dangerous in. real. life.

at that point, what story do we want to tell? why is it that we need futa to be this horrible when his actions online are enough for people to be unable to forgive him? lets sit back for a second and question ourselves on the reason we have to turn him into a creep and believe he became a threat in real life to justify disproving his actions. why we cant simply judge him from his online behavior, that caused much harm than he couldve done in a face-to-face argument. cause that is the excuse people online will use. theyre not hurting anyone in real life, so why should their posts online define their character?

pd: you can bring up the fact that his professor situation was in real life. and youre correct. but that part of the story can easily be placed as the only needed merge of realities for his case: he didnt actually confront the professor, the university isnt as private of a place as a family house so he still has some anonimity (he made the post, but who took the picture? u could not tell if he did it himself or got it from other sources, we just know bc we saw it). not to mention it still correlates: hes brave through the screen, but a complete coward in the flesh. he took a picture of the scene whilst hiding and did nothing to stop it. as much as denouncing the professor is a good thing (and the only good thing he does in the mv), he was still a coward. as ive already explained, mixing the online actions with forced real life ones in the actual murder case he has misses this point

I feel like there’s a lot of sacrificing for a joke in hsr, which is definitely annoying especially when it just…doesn’t make sense, tonally and just logically. so!! i finished watching runs of phantom liberty... and vin's getting a new canon. this dlc and its new ending are canon for him.

i just think the storyline does a great job at showing what vin really wants, and what it takes for him to realize that.

when this happens is after? you talk to the vdb. so vin's already been up shit's creek by this point. there's the shit with ev. the shit with takemura. the shit with the cados. he's been tugged around.

and then? then his relic gets hacked! and he's told to get his ass to the most dangerous part of nc? alone? yeah. yeah. he's not happy. johnny isn't either, but at this point vin's at a low and honestly could see him following songbird hoping to die.

and then he gets everything thrown on him.

- hey i need your help saving the president.

- hey im the president i need your help getting out of here, the attack came from the inside and i dont trust anybody.

- hey youre now a federal intelligence agent and tour making contact with a sleeper agent bc my runner that contacted you went missing thx.

he's already there, fuck it. maybe some gonk-brain will kill him. but. but!

there is a part of him still kinda hopeful. maybe one more step and he gets the help he needs. one more contact. one more task. and it just. keeps. going.

he's pulled into the monotonous bullshit he tried so hard to escape from. being pulled around on all these fronts again, especially as it comes out songbird is the traitor; this has been in the works for what? months now? because she knows about militech's own version of soulkiller and she, being led on by meyers, was used as a bow and made a portal for the blackwall to conduct govt espionage.

but it just. keeps. getting. worse!

songbird leaves him for dead. reed is stonewalling him. alex is fucking dead. johnny's quieter than usual. he's all alone in fucking dogtown and the only person he feels REMOTE TRUST for is feeding him nothing. and it sucks! but he's still trying to believe that he'll get that out.

and there's so many good convos with the characters in this dlc about morality, mortality, and consequence.

and it ultimately ends with vin trusting reed and them breaking songbird outta maxtac custody, bc surprise the blackwall connection makes you go cyberpsycho. and she makes it to the derelict militech lab that u go into alone alone, bc johnny gets sliced and ur comms are fucked. and there's this whole sequence of almost dying, being hunted alien isolation style by a blackwall ai controlled spider mech, and then you find songbird and she BEGS YOU to kill her. BEGS. and vin just... cant.

it's ironic coming from him considering so many of his dumb decisions are an expression of his suicidality, but he helps. he continues to help!

and even after, he's treated like shit. reed keeps stonewalling him. president myers is a cunt who cordially reminds him of the oath he took and the nice, tight leash she has around his neck.

and then? when he's finally "rescued"? ||he doesnt even say goodbye to anyone. and that hurts the most. arasaka ending sucked, sure, but this? no rooftop talk with misty. no goodbye to vik. just a text explaining he'll be outta town for a bit. and then it ends up being TWO YEARS. HE'S IN A COMA FOR TWO YEARS. ALONE. IN LANGLEY.

and when he wakes up, reed continues. to. stonewall. him. keeps it vague. apologizes, sure, but even now he cannot bring himself to actually care. which is understandable when you look at his character but. vin is livid.

there was no closure. no guarantee he'd even wake up. he could have up and died and nobody would ever fucking know!

and then he gets back to nc and... oh.

oh things changed. things really changed:

- vik became a corpo doc, working for some zetatech corp. he says he didn't have a choice.

- misty is just gone. you run into her after getting jumped by street mercs, and she's on her way to poland.

- arasaka? fucking gone. takemura and hanako went into everything alone and *hanako just up and fucking died.* no explanation. dunno if yori killed her or what. but takemura is in hiding now bc they believe he killed hanako *and* saburo. then yori stepped down as ceo all together.

- didnt see the others' calls so idk what happens with panam, judy, and river, but it can't be much better for them.

and i just...

the whole idea of vin being forced into the background being both a relief and a terror to him is so... it's so good. the idea that he lost everything again, but he now has control over that.

it fucks him up, that's for sure. the dialog you have with reed? with vik? with misty? some real shit. he's on the verge of that suicidality again, but he lived. he can live. he has control over that now.

and it's for the first time in a long time, considering the fact he worked with arasaka counter-intel. he awaited death for so long, knowing it could come at any second, that there's a... bitterness. in losing that feeling. a confusion in the fact he can just. exist without consequence.

this is really the meat of it tho. the last bit. the fact that vin is both the exact same man he was and someone entirely new.

the fact that he changed and didn't. that he's messy and there is no truly happy ending for him, that he's just... human.

that in the end, he still fucked over johnny (except at least in the arasaka ending, he was kinda understanding to a point. here? he's just angry. dejected. vin's last words to him were that he couldn't forgive him for the shit he's done to his body) and still LOST the game of life.

he still lost. but he lost in the best way possible.

the legend of v is out there, but he doesn't have to be that. live up to it. he can just be... him. and i think that's all he really wants, in the end. to learn who he is and to be him. a chance to just exist without consequence. to not have to make choices on who gets harmed and why. to make choices of dire urgency. to just... breathe.

it just took so much for him to realize that, and it's going to weigh on him for god knows how long (if not his whole life, whatever remains of it).

HIIIIII i'm so sorry for answering this late, I haven't been on tumblr bcs these last two weeks of the semester are kicking my ass and my anxiety has been skyrocketing :( though, I'm getting through it

and YES, I really believe in fate, too! Whether it be god, the universe, or something else, fate is one of the things I full heartedly believe in. I'm not exactly religious, but I am a bit spiritual, and I also do tarot readings. Tarot has a lot of mixed reactions and beliefs as a divination source, but I think that rather than there being a spirit talking to me through the cards, it's fate. I do a lot of readings for my mom, and even though I forget what the cards say after doing the readings, she remembers and it's insane how the cards are always right T.T the cards fall out of the deck due to fate. Sometimes, it has be wondering if the future is already set in stone.

I've also finished watching Attack on Titan, and the future being set in stone is kinda the premise of the show if you haven't watched it. The ending also made me super depressed, and I know that I should stop watching depressing anime, but it's so good and I think a toxic trait of mine is that I like the feeling it gives me. Like, I like being sad. Idk lol.

Also, with writing, I think I found out the reason why I stopped. For one, I've kind of lost interest in TXT and kpop as a whole. I still listen to the music often, but I don't keep up with the news as much as I used to. Another thing is that watching certain things like AOT, I always wonder if I'll ever be able to create something as powerful and heart wrenching as something like that. Something to move people and have them thinking about it for years after. And due to my insecurities, I don't believe I can do that. So, every time I write, I feel like I've lost my touch, or that what I'm writing isn't meaningful enough. Tbh, I don't think it's that serious, because at the end of the day, I should enjoy what I write, even if it's not some huge hit that inspires people. I just have to fully convince myself of that.

can't blame him for that reaction, the rengoku's are known for being flame users, and it was never known that someone only relied on their strength

often invites you for duels, offers to be your training buddy as he is amazed at your strength alone

doesn't play favorites but is secretly pleased whenever you're assigned to accompany him on missions

drags you to endless food trips with him too, insists that it adds up to your strength

you stood in front of the flame hashira who you were supposed to assist for today's mission in a southern mountain village. he looked at you with his wide eyes and a large grin on his face. you raised a brow, confused at his silence.

"shouldn't we be moving now? the sun is about to set, rengoku-san" you asked and fixed the sleeves of your uniform. he only replied with a smile and his eyes seemed to sparkle even brighter.

"where is your sword? we cannot depart unequipped and unprepared, fetch your sword" he responded and sent a grin to your way. you chuckled and rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly.

"hm, about that, i actually wield no sword. i only rely on my body and strength to fend off demons" you reply which surprised him, eyebrows raising and mouth forming an 'o'. he only smiled at you and began to head south.

when in battle, kyojuro never takes his eyes off of you, not wanting to miss the way you delivered blows to the enemy. his eyes followed each movement, each kick and punch, each stretch and fold of your limbs.

it took no more than seven blows before the demon you were facing was mushed to nothing on the ground. on cue, he tossed his sword to you as you sliced the demon's head off.

while you were both being treated by the kakushis for the light scratches and bruises, his eyes studied your structure, every curve and crevice of your body and stature. the flex of your muscles, the bulge of your biceps, the pulsing on your neck, and he marveled at how much strength you possessed.

he was inclined to believe that you were someone gifted and thay your abilities were bestowed by the heavens.

after that encounter, you'd find him in front of you often, asking for a duel or to train together.

he'd laugh as you scramble to talk when he asks you to teach him some of your moves, not knowing how to react when the flame hashira was the one to ask you for your guidance in battle.

"so, why did you choose to rely solely on your strength? why not use the sword? it has a lot of advantages and benefits in combat" he said as he sat across you, eating cheerfully at the udon prepared by the store.

is quite calm when he comes across you and your skills, deeming it as normal in the demon slayer corps

yeah, you're super strong and agile, as you should

oh, you don't use the sword? °o°

after knowing the entire story, giyuu is interested in you and your growth, similar to how he views tanjiro

bold and always asks for your presence in his missions, no matter where or when it is

you bring out his protective side that he didn't know he had before coming across you

at first, the water hashira doesn't look up to you that much, seeing you as another person who wanted to eradicate the demons, though he can't help but raise a brow when he sees that there were no sword attached to your hips.

"good evening, what brings you to our textile shop?" ypu asked and slightly bowed down. his brows knit together and a crease appeared on his forehead. what? what textile shop?

"oh? i'm here to see oyakata-sama" he responded and tilted his head, studying your physique. he knew that oyakata-sama did not request for any security around the mansion so he was suspicious of your presence.

your eyes flew to the sword on his hips and in the blink of an eye, you reached out your fist, attempting to make it collide with his jaw. giyuu's reflexes enabled him to dodge this as his hands found the handle of his sword.

you leaned back and hummed, opening the gates for him. "go straight ahead and you'll see someone inside who wil bring you to the master" you said and bowed slightly. he gave one last long look at you before entering the gate, intrigued by you and your abilities.

you were not surprised when two weeks later, you received a message via your crow, being tasked to assist the water hashira in a mission at mount natagumo. it was rushed, but it helped because you were patrolling in a town nearby.

giyuu's eyes widened ever so slightly when he saw you appear beside him in the blink of an eye. his mind began to wander, imagining the strength you hold in that body of yours.

he felt a little annoyed when you, unnecessarily, beat the large spider demon to a pulp. come on now, he could've ended it with one, clean cut. but he was glad to have witnessed it.

he stood next to tanjiro when you quirked an eyebrow at him, "my fists can't finish this filth all alone" you retorted, making him move.

at the hashira meeting, you stood a few feet away from them, out of hearing range but he sees the way your eyes were trained on master and the children. you were still on guard even if all nine hashiras were there to defend if a dire situation occurs.

after that meeting, you noticed that the water hashira often hung around you. you did not mind, you were well aware that tomioka was not famous with everyone, and that he often kept away from crowds.

unlike others, tomioka does not press on why you do not wield the sword. he admires your strength alone and often spectates while you train with dummies and rice sacks. when he's in the mood, he joins you and leaves his sword, keen on having a sole strength fight. (it's a tie)

giyuu is someone who appreciates strength, and he appreciates you. you helped him realize that he's so much more than what he thinks he is. so what if he thinksnhe doesn't deserve his title? if he's strong, shouldn't he use it?

his eyes always studied your physique and stature, wondering how strength you behold within you.

his eyes always studied the tiniest of your movement and reactions, be it as much a twitch of your eye or a flex of a muscle.

his eyes always sparkled whenever you unleash a new move at demons when you two were together on a mission.

and his eyes didn't miss the way yours turned lifeless as you used your body as a shield for the hashiras. protecting him, kanroji, sanemi, and muichiro.

muzan's weapons pierced the thick layers of muscles you had. his eyes also saw it, the way your face contorted to pain, before turning still, pale and lifeless.

❄︎ gyomei himejima

it was reassuring for him to know you, to know that someone like him exists

sure, all the other pillars were also remarkably strong, but for you to engage in battle with your fists alone was something he was intrigued by

though he was intrigued, gyomei isn't someone who is easy to impress

often asks you to train with him, and delights in the idea of knowing you better

halting his movement, the stone hashira's senses heightened, on the look out after sensing a presence approach him. it was not strong nor threatening, but still powerful and oppressive nonetheless.

he moved quickly and stealthily towards the source of the presence, and to his surprise, the said presence remain steady and unmoving, rooted in a place as if waiting for him.

in the blink of an eye, he was face-to-face with you, having finally tracked down the source of the energy. you widen your eyes when you saw a blind man appear in front of you, unsure of how to lead him away from the area since a demon was probably nearby. 

“oh? excuse me, are you lost? do you need help going down this hill? it’s late now, sir, let me accompany you” you said, not bothering to question the immense strength and incredible battle spirit you sense from him. with his size and stature, you surmised that he must be a martial arts teacher of some sort.

himejima was taken aback by your statement, not expecting you to treat him that way. he knew that you had questions, but were probably going to save them until your mission was over. 

at that moment, tears began to flow from his eyes the same moment the moonlight hit his stature, illuminating his clothes and haori. you yelped in surprised and bowed down almost immediately.

stupid!

“oh! himejima-san, excuse my rudeness, i was not expecting to see you here, i thought..." you trailed off and glanced at your crow, who was sitting atop a branch of the tree.

gyomei stood straight and brushed off your concern, "do not worry about it, it's just a little miscommunication" he responded and you nodded.

barely a second later, a heavy presence surrounded the forest like a veil, it was suffocating and malicious, forcing you two to look at each other knowingly before setting off in opposite directions.

as always, he finished his job quick and clean, and he ran towards you direction, sensing from earlier that you were underequipped. he smelled the blood of the demon but none that came from you. he intervened and swung his flail, its nichirin material effectively ending the demon's life.

after that chance encounter, you found yourself requesting to train under the stone hashira's supervision. not as a tsuguko though, just the casual training and endurance training. it was then that gyomei confirmed that you, in fact, aren't a sword user.

gyomei would help you out at first, but he would soon realize that you did not need any of it. you were more than capable of carrying half a ton of wooden logs and perform squats under the waterfalls. you can move around an enormous builder without a sweat.

and though he cannot see it, gyomei felt that you were still a child at heart, still grasping your abilities and testing your powers. he believed that you were not yet suited to be a demon hunter. you should've been out there, playing with other children.

you should be out there, enjoying life to the fullest while people like him fight to protect your happiness.

you should be out there, playing under the sun like the kids he once took care of.

as kibutsuji muzan burned to ashes, the sun rose and painted the horizon with a crimson red, like the blood spilling past your lips.
