🖤🐉Sting drags the both of you into the woods to look for a tree. It's cold and snowy and miserable. He refuses to stop until you find the biggest tree in the forest.

🖤🦊It's a fake tree. Tsubaki doesn't particularly want to go get a real tree every year. Besides, they make such a mess!

🖤🦊He takes no time at all to get the tree up. He's not as weak as he looks! Besides, he's done this before.

💜🪑He has Lily get the tree and set it up. It's a large, real tree.

💜🪑He's not too enthusiastic about decorating. He's mostly just annoyed that he's too short to reach 75% of the branches.

Hello! May I request something? Like maybe...Kyojuro survives the Mugen Train and returns home, and for the reader she's his pregnant wife? But during the end of the mission their child is born so when he gets home he meets them (boy or girl don't matter really) and just some family fluff with Senjuro and Shinjuro in the mix I guess.

author’s note: ok this is 1/6 kny reqs i received after the foreign d/s part 3, i hope everyone can wait since i did state that i’m quite slow in tending to reqs! anyways, i hope you guys enjoy this and have a nice day <3

the words kept repeating inside your head ever since your husband left three days ago for a mission. kyojuro was reluctant to go in all honesty, but all other hashiras were occupied, and the other hunters failed to subdue the entity who's responsible for the disappearance of over forty people.

kyojuro's eyes faltered for a moment when he knew that he had no choice but to go on this mission, and to leave you with his father and brother.

you were due soon, you both know that. your tummy was large and no kimono could cover up your protruding belly. and kyojuro wanted to be there for the moment your baby comes, but his duty was something that can't be postponed.

so all kyojuro could do was hold you until the very moment he left, waving off to you with his bright smile, and even brighter eyes. you smiled in return and waved back, a hand resting on your belly.

when he was a distance away, he turned back and called in a booming voice;

"wait for me to come home!"

the moon was high up in the sky when you suddenly started sweating bullets and your fingers started to tremble when you picked up the chopsticks to pick up the food. shinjuro's sharp eyes picked up on this movement and his eyes flickered to senjuro, who was eating happily.

he cleared his throat and spoke in an unsure voice, "a-are you feeling alright, y/n?" which made you look up from your plate and offer him a light smile, responding with a quick nod of your head.

senjuro then dropped his bowl and looked you up and down, his eyes studying each of your movement and looking for signs of your water breaking soon, just like he had secretly read in the books he bought in the marketplace halfway during your pregnancy.

his eyes flickered to the bullets cascading down the sides of your face, your fingers trembling as it tried to hold the chopsticks, your labored breathing which you tried to conceal from their eyes.

senjuro knew that you still felt uneasy and uncertain around their father, so he came up with the best solution there is.

"y/n-san, you should probably rest in your room for the night after dinner" the young rengoku said, which made you hum in acceptance and continued eating.

senjuro assisted you in resting in your room, and he closed the door gently behind him once you were settled. you no longer tried to conceal your breathing and instead, covered your mouth with a cloth to muffle your whimpers.

baby, baby please don't come yet. let's wait for your papa.

it was a silent plea. you heard footsteps calmly approach your room so you composed yourself and closed your eyes. you heard knocking on the door and acknowledged them first before letting them in.

shinjuro entered swiftly, and closed the door lighty behind him. your eyes fluttered open as you stared at your father-in-law. he gave you a long gaze before sitting down beside you.

"why not let the baby come now?" he spoke in a soft voice, which rattled you. you did not expect him to pick up on the signs, and you definitely did not expect him to speak in such a gentle tone.

it was silence for a few moments before you decided that you cannot find your way out of this. "k-kyojuro, he needs to come home safe and sound first" you reasoned which made the man hum.

"i will not question your reasoning, but do know that not only are you hurting yourself, but the child and kyojuro as well" he replied which made you ponder over your thoughts. in the end, you let all senses go and unclenched your leg muscles.

as soon as shinjuro saw the large wet spot forming on the bed, he did not hesitate to call for senjuro, who came in quickly with the midwife.

as you screamed and thrashed for hours, from midnight to the wee hours of the morning, going through excruciating pain in your lower body, you knew that kyojuro was also fighting for his life and everyone's safety no matter where he was.

he was fighting hard, so he can come home to you and your family.

and the sun was nearing the horizon when you let out one last deafening scream, welcoming your child to the world.

and the sun was seated on his throne in the sky when kyojuro cheered and hugged the young demon slayers in victory.

after all, no force on earth can take down the sun.

kyojuro dashed down the street stealthily with his crow following behind. the kakushis was only able to tend to his wound momentarily before his crow cut into the scene and delivered the news to him.

he was fidgety as the kakushis tended to his now, not-functioning left eye as he cannot wait to come home to you and your family. but he refused to come home all bloodied and bruised.

after ten minutes, when he was neat and decent, he excused himself to kamado, agatsuma, and hashibira, sharing with them the joyous news. the two boys wers delighted and extended their praise, while the boar head asked if a "baby" could be eaten.

within thirty minutes of receiving the news, he was finally at the gate of the rengoku residence. he opened it and saw his father at the garden, cleaning the leaves on the ground.

shinjuro straightened as he saw his son, whose eye was covered in a white patch. his eyes watered but he steeled himself and went back to cleaning.

"your family's inside, you worried your wife all night long, go ease her senses" kyojuro was taken aback when he heard his father speak in soft voice, and he replied with an enthusiastic smile and nod, dashing inside the villa.

he saw senjuro preparing a meal, probably for you and your post-childbirth recovery. the young boy dropped the ladle he was holding when he saw his brother, running towards the flame hashira.

he hugged his brother but did not dare to make any noise, "sister-in-law wqmas restless since she gave birth! she hasn't fallen asleep ever since last night waiting for you. go talk to her, brother" senjuro pushed kyojuro towards your room.

he knocked on the door but received no response, so he gently opened it, to which he saw you asleep and embracing your baby flush to your chest, who was also at peace.

his heart warmed at the sight, tears threatening to spill from his eye. kyojuro approached the bed and looked at his child, your child.

the baby's eyes fluttered open and landed on her father's shining ones. perhaps it was the bloodstained patch, or perhaps from joy that her father was finally here, the baby cried and thrashed, waking you up immediately.

but before you could cradle your child, kyojuro already scooped her in his arms and lulled her back to calmness.

"kyo... you're back. you're okay, you're home" you exclaimed and broke into tears, pulling him into a hug, which he reciprocated. he helped you onto your feet and supported your weight with his body.

he pressed a kiss to your temple and admired your daughter who was silent and was looking at the two of you wide her wide, bright eyes.

"she got your pretty eyes, what a wonder" you murmured which made kyojuro smile in delight.

"and she got your hair and nose, the prettiest" he replied which made you giggle.

"she looks so much like..." you trailed off, not having the heart to continue.

"mother. she looks like mother" kyojuro finished the sentence for you and you hugged him back.

"what should we name her?" he asked in return and kept his eyes on the angel in his arms, her tiny hands grabbing at the strands of his hair.

"what do you think about... ruka?" you responded which he slightly widened his eyes at. then, he smiled and hummed, kissing the head of ruka.

"a beautiful name for a beautiful girl" ruka then shifted in his arms, making him grin in joy.

it was fifteen minutes later when he settled your child in the hammock, your little princess finally asleep.

you and kyojuro sat on the bed as he narrated to you the details of his mission, and you listened as you tend to his wounds which the kakushi missed because of his eagerness to come home.

"i'd like to apologize for losing an eye, i did not fores-" you silenced him with a squeeze to his hand.

"there's nothing to be sorry for, kyo. it's heroic, losing an eye for the safety of over two hundred people in that train" you said and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

"i'm the one who should be sorry. i tried to delay my childbirth because i wanted you to come home first" you said and hid your face in his neck in shame. he held you in his arms, and ran his hands up and down your back.

"it's just that, it was a bad omen. giving birth while your husband was away on a mission. because... because an ending signals a new beginning and, and i..." you did not continue and let your tears fall, dampening his skin.

kyojuro knew what you wanted to say, and he only held you tighter. to affirm that he was there. to reassure you that he was safe. to let you know that everyone is alright.

"i'm okay now, darling. no need to cry, no need to fret" he soothed you with his voice and pulled you in for a quick kiss, wiping your tears away with his hand.

"thank you for waiting for me" he said and held you close as you both drifted to sleep.

🤎🔹As usual, he's down for anything! It really doesn't take much to convince him to do something with you.

🤎🔹He'll manage to hunt down some premade houses and a variety of candies. He might have to fight some horsemen for it, but it's not like that's hard for the fifth Progenitor!

🤎🔹Ky enjoys the decorating process, and he's decently good at it. He's not Urd-level, but then again, very few are! Unfortunately, he gets bored fast and decides to annoy you instead. There is a very good chance you'll end up in an all-out food war!

🤎🔹Both houses look somewhat decent, if you don't count the mess caused when Ky challenged you to a frosting and sprinkles war!

💖😈Oh he is all in. The minute you bring up gingerbread houses, his eyes light up!

💖😈The two premade houses you got aren't nearly enough to satisfy him. He ends up getting at least ten more, as well as several more pounds of candy! You'll have a whole city!

💖😈He has a lot of fun decorating your gingerbread city! He's like a little child, honestly. If there's one thing that brings out Mepphy's inner child, it's gingerbread houses!

💖😈Everything is covered in pink sprinkles and icing. Everything. Including him and you.

🖤‼️What? What is this nonsense? He really doesn't understand or see the point in this. He should be off killing people and proving his strength to Dazai! It'll take a bit of pleading to get him to give in.

🖤‼️You manage to convince Chuuya to go out and get the things you need. Two houses and a bunch of candies and sprinkles.

🖤‼️Aku has a sloppy and half-hearted method of decorating. You might be able to get him to actually try if you involve a certain suicidal maniac! ("You know, I bet Dazai would LOVE to see our gingerbread houses-")

🖤‼️Your house looks fantastic. If you used Aku's need to impress Dazai, his looks decent as well.

🌳☢️So… you've been dragged along to the annual Team Melancholy gingerbread house competition. Sakuya just wanted you there to keep him sane (and out of fistfights with Belkia).

🌳☢️Reiterating what I've already said: everyone gets their own house and candy supplies. You have one hour to build and decorate your house. Then, everyone votes on who's is the best.

🌳☢️Wanting to impress you, Sakuya actually tries to make his house look good. And he immediately gets made fun of by Belkia, which starts a fist fight.

Mahiru Shirota

🤎🙂He thinks it's a wonderful idea! He enjoys creative tasks, and doing one for fun (as opposed to because nobody else volunteered) is appealing to him.

🤎🙂Uh-uh. No premade houses. Making the gingerbread yourself is more authentic! No worries, he knows what he's doing. You could probably get away with sitting back and letting him handle the baking.

🤎🙂Mahiru is borderline obsessive with his decorating. If you're going to do something, you should do it right! Just let him do his thing.
