2023 Cancer Full Moon
Wednesday, December 27, 00:33 UT, 4°58’ Cancer Chart erected for Washington, DC (Tuesday, December 26, 19:33 EST)
Tumblr media
The key phrases for the Full lunar phase are “culminate, fulfill, illumine, manifest;” and “pour all your energy into your intention.”
The double sextile aspect pattern of the Capricorn Solstice chart has morphed a little bit. Mercury Rx has returned to Sagittarius, and the Capricorn Sun is now conjunct the little Centaur Pholus (major life-changing impacts); the Moon has moved on to Cancer, where (of course) she rules. She’s now opposed to the Sun (and Pholus), sextile Jupiter, and trine Saturn. (This is called a “cradle” pattern.)
What I think will be going on with this, is a little Full Moon illumination into that Cap Solstice double sextile. Whatever we did (or didn’t do) with that, we can expect some further insights into why we may have chosen to act as we did, and what we can do to achieve what we want.
There is an icky Mutable sign problem, in the form of a wide-ish grand cross between Vesta Rx/Gemini, Juno/Virgo, Mercury Rx and Mars in Sagittarius, and Neptune/Pisces. A blustering, blowhard kind of energy, and some fanaticism to be sure. Think of some politician going on and on about “morality” - or some minister going on and on about “politics.” Ugh. Be careful you yourself aren’t preaching like this.
There is another cradle pattern, a series of sextiles from Waldemath/Virgo to Venus/Scorpio to Pluto/Capricorn to Neptune/Pisces. (Waldemath is better known as “Black Moon Lilith.”) It’s a lot of very cathartic energy - perhaps after a little Christmas overindulgence, we need to go on a blander diet?

Full Moon in Gemini Astrology Horoscope November 27, 2023
Tumblr media
It's officially a Full Moon in Gemini November 27, 2023 4:16 am ET.
Headlines that grab attention change peoples views. Information can get people fired up about the future. What people think could seem revolutionary. Details that aren't usually clear because of being overshadowed by a larger view could pique a greater interest and curiosity. Motivation to act and speak is emphasized in relationships.
Mercury in Sagittarius challenges Neptune Retrograde in Pisces just hours after the Full Moon in Gemini, so confusion is in the air and gets mixed up with our feelings. It's not the best time to make decisions.
If you come to realizations with this Full Moon, you may forget them, especially if you aren't clear thinking for one reason or another. Writing down or recording different perspectives that are not usually on your mind will help you expand on them later instead of forgetting about them completely. Watch for synchronicities and meaningful coincidences to multiply...

Numerology: December 2023
Quick numerology of the month ahead.
December is a "1" Universal Month [12 (December) + 7 (2023) = 19 = 1+9 = 10 = 1+ 0 =1] in a "7" Universal Year. Technically we could call December a 12/1, but the 12 is implied.
Our new moon at 20° Sagittarius is a 9/1. "9" [Sun in Sagittarius (9) + Moon in Sagittarius (9) = 18 = 1+8 =9] and "1" [9 (Sag moon) + 1 (December 20230 = 10 = 1]. Our full moon at 04° Cancer is a 5/6. "5" [10 (Sun in Capricorn) + 4 (Moon in Cancer) = 14 = 1+4 = 5] and "6" [5 (Cancer full moon) + 1 (December 2023) =6]

𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝟒º𝟓𝟏’ (𝟐𝟕 𝐍𝐨𝐯 - 𝟏𝟐 𝐃𝐞𝐜)
Gemini full moon at degree of “desire to reach beyond established forms” inflicted by Mars Saturn square is like driving a race car with breaks on. It’s frustrating & we resent the caution as we itch to move fast.
It doesn’t help that ruler of this full moon - Mercury is in a turkey stupor with a confused mind, low immunity & possibly a flu or stewing in self inflicted mental inferiority torture chamber. Neptune while helping us blur the boundaries so we can color outside the lines - is also making us procrastinate in vulnerability.
Gemini full moon aren’t known for explosions of emotional anger or repressed feelings - May be verbal diarrhoea to be entertaining but not compulsively contrarian. We seem to be compulsively contrarians right now & it’s not funny or entertaining or well contained!
Reminds me of slime - not the dirty kind, the play kind. It has no purpose but to probably let one know some things can exist outside a defined container. Looks yucky to observer but entertaining to owner
We explode into formlessness…
Playful slime as it tries to reflect a child’s brain evolution is surely reprimanded shortly by Saturn as it despises the glitter on the wooden floors which would probably never get out & makes once formally set house look like a semi playground of a creator with no clue of end result
“Rules control the Fun!” Saturn is the apex of this T-Squared full moon.
A t-squared full moon comes with conflicting choices - normally we duck to make the choice but Saturn leaves no room to duck out.
To avoid making this choice we could color our hair & join the revolution blowing up whole world into a goo of our colorful slime or repress telling anyone what we intend to do & withdraw totally where no one can question our playful slime.
Saturn would like us to get hold of this bipolar full moon & make it hunker down to have some good old slime making rules. No hardwood no upholstery for example (true story!) Yet some formally allocated time to color outside the lines & a tangible outcome ?
We would retrace these steps again as these are not final decisions as Mercury will walk these degrees again as it goes retrograde on 13 Dec. Rethinking, deciding again, making rules, resenting the boundaries, being compulsively contrarian again as Neptune makes the year end fog thicker as it dawns on us by going direct on 6th & strongly debilitating our ability to act & think decisively. Health and immunity also become a key topic.
Expect less of you, expect less of the moment, expect less of playtime as slime is not the outcome its the process.
It’s there to stimulate the senses we would normally suppress or ignore. It’s calming, it’s grounding, its formlessness surprisingly brings us back in current moment instead of future anxiety. It’s teaching us how some unlikely ingredients can come together to make a new thing that didn’t exist before.
Gemini slime is never made alone.
Social elements as much as conflicting, as messy, as seemingly a time waste or frivolous can come together & stimulate a part of us that we ignore or suppress making us alive to current moment. Just because you cannot name your madness, doesnt mean you have to live it alone. The thing you might judge in you - might be inspiring to another as you try to color outside the boundaries of sanity. And to those it doesn’t they would help create the friction which would help yield usefulness out of this process of self discovery…
Either ways there is no need to hide your colorfully frustrating formlessness as everyone is dying to experience something original. The something original you are probably calling your madness…
Much ❤️

Astrology of December 2023
Important Dates
December 1: Mercury enters Capricorn December 4: Venus enters Scorpio December 6: Neptune Direct December 12: New Moon in Sagittarius December 13: Mercury Retrograde December 21: Winter Solstice December 22: Sagittarius Season December 23: Mercury Retrogrades back into Sagittarius December 27: Full Moon in Cancer December 29: Venus enters Sagittarius
Tumblr media
On December 1, Mercury moves into the orderly and logical sign of Capricorn. Our thinking and conversations might focus more on the practical side. Our reactions are cool and reasonable, as we will be more level-headed. We are highly focused on what could benefit us for the long-term and it’s a great time to plan. We can be guarded and cautious with our words, as well as what we allow ourselves to think about. Don’t let thinking become too rigid! It’s great to get our lives in order, but changes are always around. Mercury Retrograde will shake us up and remind us of that, and we are already in the pre-Retrograde shadow.
Venus enters Scorpio on December 4, and relationship energies will feel deep and intense. Our relationships are extremely important to us right now, and we want closeness to be passionate and unforgettable. This is an emotional position for Venus, which makes us sensitive, but we have a fear of showing vulnerability. We must learn to balance out exploring and showing our emotions, and know that they do not make us weak. We must know that crisis and drama are not the source of vitality in life, even if Scorpio makes it feel like it is.
December 6, Neptune is going Direct after its long Retrograde cycle. Have you been romanticizing suffering? Playing the victim? With Neptune moving Direct, this need to wallow in misery will fade. With Neptune direct, illusion is more easily distinguished from reality and our mind becomes clearer. Our spiritual body may feel a sense of relief from this. Higher guidance can be sought, as we have gained some spiritual maturity during this time too.
There is a New Moon on December 12. When in Sagittarius, the New Moon offers us new viewpoints and brings optimism. Visions for the future become more inspiring, we can increase our understanding and awareness, and feel courageous. It’s easy to get lost in the mundane, but Sagittarius is giving us a refresh. Be cautious of overdoing our expectations. Make sure to think about the consequences before making any rash decisions, because Mercury will be Retrograding the following day.
December 13 we might feel discombobulated, considering Mercury will be going Retrograde. Mercury is starting off in Capricorn, which means our order and logic might get scrambled. That cool and reasonable side of us might go off the deep end if we get irritated enough. Capricorn is known for its stability, and if we stay grounded and ahead of this chaos, we can find a semblance of order. Capricorn gets a bad rap for ruthless practicality, but when Mercury rolls back into this sign, it gives a chance to break out of any delusions, limiting patterns and old belief systems. The best way to deal with Mercury’s Retrograde challenges is to take things slow, remain flexible, and be mindful of our actions and thoughts.
Winter Solstice is on December 21, the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The Winter Solstice happens when the Earth's axis is tilted furthest away from the sun. The Northern Hemisphere receives less sunlight, and the days are shorter. After the Winter Solstice, the days begin to get longer again. It’s a time to mark the return of the sun, and hope that comes after darkness. We will begin to feel a shift in the air and celebrate with friends and family. Reflect on the darkness of winter and the hope of the coming spring.
On December 22, Capricorn Season begins. We could feel a sense of determination and desire to set practical goals, which is great to put toward our future for the upcoming year. We will look at the structure and tangible things in our life. Career and money will feel important. Overall, the realism may leave us feeling a little exhausted, especially for those of us that are water signs or mystical people. It’s good to keep our feet grounded in reality and reel in our fantasies, but overdoing it can lead us to being pessimistic. Find ways to use this energy to plan reasonable, realistic steps on our larger than life, fun and truly hope-filled goals.
Mercury Retrograde back into Sagittarius on December 23, bringing yet another shift in the air. We’ve entered Capricorn Season, which has brought us down to reality from our adventurous trek through Sagittarius Season. Mercury is moving backward though, making us dip our toes back into a more care-free communication and logic. We have to be careful with Mercury in Retrograde and think before we speak. Honesty is all good and well, but using it as an excuse to hurt people’s feelings isn’t great. The holidays are closely following this transit, so remember to have fun, be flexible and open-minded about the people you care for.
On December 26, we have a Full Moon in Cancer. This Full Moon is all about balancing out commitment to our families and our careers, our private and public life. The emotional roots of our intentions rise to the surface. It’s a time to clear up past patterns that have held us back from fulfillment, especially those that are home or family-centered or revolve around a work-home balance and attitude toward responsibility. We might take a trip down memory lane in family roots, which can be positive or negative depending, and we will have revelations. We must be patient and easy with ourselves, as emotions are strong during this sort of transit.
Venus enters Sagittarius on December 29. That deep, intense energy that we had on our relationships and romance might shift over to something more care-free. Sagittarius is more about universal love and expanding our outlook to learn from others. We may feel more spontaneous about indulging in pleasure, and we may need it as the stressful holiday season comes to a close. Spend time on the things that we love, and open up to finding new things to enjoy and love.
As we move through the last month of the year, we will want to become serious about our communications and thinking, but less than half-way through the month, Mercury will be going Retrograde which will make sort of a joke out the things Capricorn wants us to have seriousness and structure about. It will prove annoying, but remind us to remain flexible and not to take ourselves too seriously. Our relationships and pleasures will feel deeply intense for most of the month. Capricorn Season will help prepare us for the coming year with serious plans and goals to move us up in our careers and ambitions. The days will slowly begin to lengthen, reminding us to have hope during our challenges and we will know that bright days are coming. Make the best of this time by staying flexible, reviewing our year and learning from what has happened, and making room for our goals for 2024.

2023 Cancer Full Moon
Friday, January 6, 2023, 23:08 UT Chart erected for Washington, DC
Tumblr media
This Full Moon features what is sometimes called a cradle aspect pattern: there is a series of sextiles (very tight ones in this case!), beginning with the Sun and Mercury Rx in Capricorn - which are sextile Vesta and (alas) Nessus in Pisces - which are sextile Uranus Rx in Taurus - which is sextile the Moon and Pallas Athene Rx in Cancer.
The aspects involved in a cradle pattern are:
An opposition, for awareness (Sun and Merc Rx opposite Moon and Pallas Athene Rx);
Trines, for flow (Sun and Merc Rx trine Uranus Rx, Moon and Pallas Athene trine Vesta and Nessus, a total of six);
Sextiles, for opportunities (a total of eight, here).
I read almost all the time (it’s my birthright as a Gemini), and about almost every possible topic - and something I’ve read repeatedly is that from now on, in all our plans and ways of thought we must factor in the imminent climate catastrophe. I can see a lot of that in this chart! And maybe the Full Moon energy is going to illumine how this plays out for us. Maybe we’ll be enlightened as to how we, as individuals, can act to mitigate the impending disasters. Pay particular attention to the house holding 16°22’ Cancer for clues.
(The Moon and Pallas Athene are straddling my natal 9th House cusp. Hmmm.)
What do you think?
