Again, if you've never seen this before this is me watching a sneaky link to the new ep of MPW, but my friend speaks Japanese and I don"t so there's no subtitles so I must go off of poorly remember Japanese based on badly subbed 90's anime.

-I swear this is the most we've ever heard Mizuki talk at once and also the strength of tone!!! Oh it's making my heart beat fast.

-This camera choice of only seeing Mizuki's back is very affecting and also really making this difficult.

You're getting an update sooner than I thought because I skipped nearly allll my Sunday shows to take advantage of me and the watchbuddies all being on the weekend! (Oh My God Love in Translation finale brb - update will wait) (Finale was good am back, I feel so warm and cozy, what was I talking about again? Oh yeah how amazing Not Me is)

Episode 6 was a lot and episode 7 was AMAZING

There was NO Todd in either ep so I have no additional thoughts on him.

The plan in ep 6 was bonkers but it was crazy for White to switch it out right at the end!! Strangulation was a bit much though...

I did adore the crosswalk metaphor in 6 1/4 though, walking into traphic because you're in the right doesn't mean you won't be killed, and if you are killed will your death have made a difference? mmmmm I really want other people I know to watch this show...

interestingly one of the only things I had already seen was that moment under the pride flag

not with sound or words, just the hand grab and the jumping and, with no context, I had assumed it would be much later in the series, a moment where the characters accept their relationship to each other...but nope, Instead it was a moment of shared celebration before that shift in the relationship, I might love that even more!!

Episode 7 felt like it shifted tone a little though to what I'm not quite sure yet.

We did get apparent resolution/explanation for the Eugene/Gram stuff

Seriously, she was dumped and then drawn in and then dumped again, very rough for Eugene.

I'm still not sure whether Graham was in love with Black or her though...

No more evolution on the theory of who hurt black and why specifically, except it's either the obvious answer (Tawi) or Tod...

Also, gosh! First was distracting this ep! Like how am I supposed to read the subtitles when I can't look away from his eyes??

@plantsarepeopletoo made a comment when we were watching about White being thought and Black being action and the halves of the whole they make up. All these people influenced by Black's action now being exposed to White's thought...

Also commentary on the police!! The actions we don't see and the difference between individuals and an organisation. SO MUCH IS BEING SAID IN THIS SHOW. Working both inside and outside organisations is required to make change. Also the way officers are granted automatic respect/lack of suspicion.

Plus the confirmation from multiple characters this ep around knowing that their actions might lead to death or jail and choosing it anyway... Youth is such a passionate time.

I think that's all for now, I am curious how the rising up of more people might challenge the more extreme actions of the gang, since White was working hard this ep to make them understand that alienating the people would only hurt their cause...

Hi MT, I just need to say something that's bothering me for weeks.

Yes, Melissa is back, obviously. Yes, we'll probably all watch The Book Of Carol. Does that mean we aren't allowed to state our opinion anymore?

Lately, I see people hyping S2 including rumors, sightings and pics. Which is amazing of course but personally, I still have and probably will always have a bad taste in my mouth.

It's the Daryl show. It's been for 1 1/2 years. Since they announced Melissa is out and no matter how many times NR says, :she's always been involved", she wasn't.

The whole show revolves around him. Him leaving his home, getting lost, finding allies and a way back home. Even with a heavy Carol oriented second season, it's still the Daryl show. What about the subtitle for S3 or maybe S4? The main title will always be the same, Daryl Dixon.

I don't want to shit in anyone's oatmeal. It's great that people are happy and hyped for S2. I can't wait to see our beautiful Carol and Melissa again. BUT I was hyped for a Caryl SO. Look at all we get at the moment. Still no Melissa. Yes, she's been always invisible until a certain point but it's not her equal SO, it's still Daryls and will always be. In articles, interviews, they'll always refer to its name, Daryl Dixon.

If anyone is thinking it isn't intentional, I'm sorry to burst your bubble. It is, very obvious so. The SO can have 5 subtitles, it's still the Daryl Dixon show.

It doesn't matter if Melissa was pushed out or if she left on her own will (it's still making me mad but it's a different topic), as soon as she was on board they should've gone with Raise The Dead or another title.

They didn't, they won't, they will always disrespect Carol and Melissa, no matter if she chose to come back. It continues to be the Daryl Dixon Spin Off.

Everyone hyping Melissa’s return and hoping for good Caryl stories is right to do so. Some may not think so, but I’m still holding out hope (I wouldn’t have any at all if Melissa’s EP title didn’t carry any weight). That being said, everyone who’s pointing out the issues with the title, other story elements, or the things being said in interviews are right to do so too. I wish it boiled down to one’s own outlook, positivity or negativity, but it doesn’t (I hate that dichotomy). It’s not on any of the fans. Yes, there are those who cross boundaries, who harass and threaten, and that’s not okay. Criticism in general though? Not only is it okay, it’s the only chance there is to change things. You seem to think Melissa/Carol will never be treated equally. Personally, I think it is possible 🤷🏻‍♀️ AMC needs to understand what the target audience wants, they need to know their revenue depends on how well they deliver what the target audience wants, and they need to hire a showrunner with the authority and the insight into the target audience to actually deliver what they want. How can we help ensure that? Talking about it. You don’t like that Carol’s name is only a subtitle? Say so. Don’t like the shipbaiting? Caryl’s ambiguity? Retcons? The gaslighting in the media? Say so. Or, if you just want to focus on what you’re looking forward to, do that. That’s my long-winded way of saying, yes, you’re allowed to have an opinion and you’re allowed to voice it respectfully provided you also respect the opinions of others who disagree ❤️

I watched NLMG and all parts had subs for me. The Warp Effect, on the other hand... I've been trying to watch that show on Youtube since it came out with no luck. The subtitles are such a mess. I'd been waiting for subs since yesterday, checking every once in a while if they were there, but nope. Then I checked earlier today and they were finally up for me, but I didn't have time to watch the ep then (I wasn't home), so I planned on doing it later, but when I got home and wanted to watch it, the subs were gone again. So I'm just over here dying BECAUSE I STILL CAN'T WATCH EP 4 BUT I WANT TO SO BADLY BECAUSE ALL THE GIFS I'M SEEING ARE GREAT. 😫 (anyways, idk wtf is going on with gmmtv ans their subs)

GOD what are they doing 😩 I didn't know it was that messy lmao.

why would they put them up and then take them down? the only explanation I can think of is that they add temporary ones to the episodes when they first come out so ppl can watch it right away and then take them down to edit/finalize them to put them up again on the next day. But then again you said the warp effect still doesn't have them so???? that's so strange.

EPISODE 3: THE BEST ONE SO FAR, I GUESS

Okay, this episode seems a lot better so far. I'm noticing a lot of dialogue I recognize word-for-word, so maybe both adaptations follow the manga pretty closely.

He straight up says he's an atheist! (He might've said this in 03, too, but subtitles on the high seas aren't always super accurate.)

"THAT'S NOT GOOD!" What a hilarious response. I'm not laughing, it's just funny to think of.

This version seems like it's framing Rose as ignorant. In 03, Ed and Rose both had a valid point (and Rose managed to make hers without being a jerk). Maybe I'm imagining things.

That is clearly not an ordinary ring. It glows.

WAIT I WAS JOKING. He's straight up saying "Now shoot the Fullmetal Alchemist." Is there anything else he could have meant??

Aww, Al's trying to stop her from shooting because the bullets will ricochet. In ep. 5 of 03, he's not as urgent with telling the train hijackers not to shoot him, and more exasperated than anything when the shots ricochet off to hit them all. Interesting difference.

Why are we doing a gag now. I thought this scene was supposed to be intense or something. Man.

They can't just play the dramatic music once we realize Al is hollow. We did that reveal in the first episode!

Why couldn't this have just been the first episode? This isn't perfect. I don't even think it's good. But it's much better at getting me somewhat invested in this story than whatever was going on in the first episode.

Rose looked like Kairi in that frame, haha.

WHY IS HE SERIOUS THE SECOND TIME NOW!?! The English announcer will never cease to be the funniest part of this show.

Why did we need the chibi form there?

Aww, his little laugh! Got a bit of a smile out of me. Okay, the shots of people listening in shock are pretty funny. Some good exhalations here.

I think he uses that line in ep. 12 of 06 about being on "completely different levels".

Again, this could be an emotional moment for Ed, but he has to do a funny gag face.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: I guess this episode was the best one I've seen so far. I thought some things were funny. Maybe I liked the first one more, though it's more about which one I have a slight dislike for less.

WE MEET TUCKER NEXT EPISODE!?!?! NEXT EPISODE..? Whatever. I'll talk more about that when I watch it. Let's enjoy for now how okay I guess this episode was. I think I still prefer the first one, even if this would've been a better first episode, just because I don't have anything in 03 to compare BroHo ep. 1 to. And Al looked SO COOL.

Okay. I'm going to watch Brotherhood. I'm going to be so brave about watching this new show. I'll try it out and form my own opinions.

I can't begin to explain the way "Why don't you stay" pulls on my heartstrings. For me, it's up there in my top 5 of most beautiful songs ever (with Harry Styles' Sign of the Times & Pink Floyd's Wish you were here, for example). It breaks my heart to hear how Jeff's still a little hoarse after his covid infection 😭 there were definitely some flat notes there that wouldn't have been there otherwise

I know it's controversial but I love that little grain of KimChay closure they've given us. I liked how they ended in the series: Kim realising that he has a lot of groveling to do and Chay taking agency - but not ending together, giving Chay space and time. He's 19 - I like to imagine he takes a few years to grow up and learn to be himself before they collide again, and take it from there.

THERE IT IS. I was waiting (after having watched the clips on youtube for daaaaays). This is devastatingly beautiful for me (again, for reason I can't explain myself). It's not even the fact that it's in English - by now I've become so used to the Thai version that the sounds are wrong. But omg the scenery and setting. The piano, the build-up, the choir and Jeff just releasing it. I honestly don't know why this man isn't world wide famous yet (yes I will die on this hill). It will take a long time before I'm over this.

My Personal Weatherman Ep 7- No Subs watch

Again a reminder, this is me reacting to the new episode of MPW that I get from an internet friend-y, but unfortunately (for me) they speak Japanese, but I do not, and the link they send has no subtitles, so I have no idea what anyone is saying. In fairness...I have been watching Japanese series for about 2 decades, so I can pick up on a couple words/phrases, but mostly my goal is to observe body language to kind of guess what the story is. It's a fun, silly little game. There may be moderate spoilers about sequences, though I try to keep things vague, and of course no dialogue spoilers. Let's go!

-Oooh! An on location segment for the weather. How exciting! (ALso I swear it looks like the location is just outside of Man-san's apartment building, and that's why they had the camera framed so close in.) And Yoh still watching Mizuki so closely.

-Oh, we have ARCs...is this actually a few weeks later, or is the BL manga publishing industry able to do a two day turn around?

-Man-san sounds very encouraging, at least.

-That is a clearly depressed and defeated Segasaki. Poor guy. Has still no one explained that Man-san's husband isn't after Yoh?? Really?

-Why is Yoh always so goddamn suspicious??? My god dude.

-I will say also, I don't love Mizuki's tone here, but I think that's me relating a bit too much to Yoh (since we're both on the same side of a D/s dynamic). I know I would be really upset to hear that distance in in Mizuki's voice if I were Yoh.

-Now we're getting the flashbacks from Mizuki's POV....interesting. I can't wait to know what he was thinking when he saw Yoh. His face is so precious.

-But now we have THE CURRY!!! The curry that made Segasaki finish falling in love with Yoh. I don't feel like curry is supposed to be that crunchy...but I could be wrong.

-His face, I'm dying.. And the little bonk on the head. Oh, if I wasn't already head over heels for these two dinguses, this would have been the last straw for me as well.

-Mizuki's love for petting Yoh is so fucking CUTE!!!!

-Yoh's smile as he draws Segasaki- so PRECIOUS!!!! (Sorry I keep yellling.)

-Poor Mizuki's face. 🥺🥺🥺 He really thought for a minute that Yoh left again.

This was an excellent episode. I mean the whole series has been, but this just....so good. I can't wait to understand more than 27% of it.

Finale next week (Booo!!!😠) but I will be happy to be able to watch the complete story over and over into forever. That'll be nice. Honestly this is the first BL I've every considered getting a physical copy of it's so good.

I would like to add my two cents regarding bighit editing changing the narrative completely, especially with their official content.

One of the example I would mention is jikook vs taekook leaving home after RUN BTS shoot. I think everyone remember how company focused on jikook leaving together when tae was left to complete his part of game (thigh slapping day lol)

While when they knew taekook would leave together or people might suspect this they changed the narration completely. Remember in Hyundai Run episode Jungkook was continuously asking did tae left and they used subtitles betrayed by v or something. I was wondering why Jungkook would ask continuously about Taehyung only as if he is aware of Tae's plan to be in the building. He said so in episode. And then you see all of them leaving Hyundai building once their task is done, recorded by cameraman. So I thought maybe Taehyung really left. Then Hyundai company posted how V purchased one of their cars implying he was in the building. Made me wonder if they just shot that leaving scene but Tae might have come out of car and waited but that was too over the top even for my romantic ass. Something was just not connecting. The way they played so uncompetitively like they planned to be the last ones as if they had plans together afterwards, Jungkook's insistence on Taehyung's whereabouts sealed the deal.

So I went back and watched the episode again and I realised I was such a fool. The scene they showed of members leaving was from ep 124 and not from Hyundai building. That means they shot members leaving from ep 124 and added in Hyundai episode which doesn't make any sense. I can't find any logic other than to mould narrative to adhere to ships approved by them. You can check only Namjoon has changed his clothes rest all are wearing ep 124 clothes.

This is how they maintain that taekook may have sort out their differences but their relation is only for fun and non reliable in nature.

Same anon who talked about Hyundai episode.

The only logic which makes sense is They shot 124 episode in the morning changed clothes for Hyundai one as they were sponsored (maybe?) And they switched back to ep 124 clothes because Jin said he wanted to do treasure hunt and someone said they would do that next. Then again everything is still confusing because Hyundai confirmed Tae purchased the car after shooting.

If the clothes were sponsored things make sense otherwise no. What's your opinion?

Yeah this moment is so so weird!!  I feel like it’s weird even if the clothes were sponsored, because I believe episode 124 was filmed in a completely different location than the Hyundai episode.  Wasn’t episode 124 specifically filmed at a historic site?  Maybe I’m getting my episodes mixed up because it’s been a while since I’ve watched that one in particular, but I’m pretty sure it was.  Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

And if the clothes were sponsored, would they have changed out of them at the Hyundai location before going home?  That seems unlikely.  It would make more sense for them to return to HYBE or wherever, and then change back into their own clothes, and then go home from there.  But if that’s what happened, would it make sense to film them getting into cars, back in their own clothes, to head home from HYBE, well after the episode had ended?  Even if they did do that, why frame it as though they were leaving the filming location in that case?  In fact, why film that at all??

This whole event is truly so bizarre to me.  Even if we assume for the moment that they did all of this just to cover up the fact that Taehyung and Jungkook might have left the Hyundai location together, it still seems like a weird thing to do.  I’ve wondered before if it might have been a mistake somehow, or if they just happened to film the guys leaving in episode 124 and then realized that it would make more sense to have shots of them leaving for the day after the Hyundai thing, so they spliced that in?  Or maybe they did record both episodes in one day, but even if they did, the Hyundai thing must have been the end of their day, because why else would it be a reward to get to go home???

The more I think about it, the weirder it is.  I’m not sure how likely I think it is that they did this whole switch just to cover up something about Taekook, but it does seem to show that they’re willing and able to manipulate footage to give the viewer specific ideas, whether or not those ideas are accurate to what really happened.
