I'm rewatching Granada Holmes and I know everyone talks about this so I'd like to add my voice to the crowd: Jeremy Brett is magnificent.

Tempted to just leave it there but seriously, I'm in awe of his performance and I must find out if he won any awards for it because, as someone training to be an actor, I'm absolutely mesmerised by his facial expressions, his line delivery, his body language... it's so exact and everything is so meaningful and tells us so much that it comes to a point where it seems to come to him too naturally.

I'll admit, I don't find some of the other actors very believable, but it's fine because it's still entertaining.

But Brett just...shines. He does these quick flash grins, those hand flourishes, he enunciates specific words and rolls his 'r's, he never drops the act and it's unbearably impressive because, despite the theatricality, it still feels real.

As well as being an incredible person, I think he's an incredibly inspirational actor, and I'll be shouting about this to my grave. I'm obsessed.

herlock sholmes being a genius and creating the first hologram in 1899 is fun and all but you know what. i think that man never employed 100% of his genius brain more than when mikotoba brought iris to 221B and she was subsequently left in his care (and he was freaking the hell out over it). i'm sure mikotoba was like "we need to find a wet nurse sholmes we can't feed a baby" when he first brought her there and sholmes was immediately like No I Got This and then entered the fourth dimension creating god's most perfect baby formula on the floor. he starts panicking over iris potentially getting sick and starts churning out the world's first proper vaccines on his desk (don't question why they glow with various neon colors. They Work). et cetera. he basically (frantically) becomes the leading expert on all things baby. but the thing is the second iris gets old enough for the information to become irrelevant he promptly dumps all of it from his memory because he finally gets that extra space back to use for information more likely to help him in the detective field

Starring: Ruki Mukami (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), Kou Mukami (CV: Ryōhei Kimura), Yuma Mukami (CV: Tatsuhisa Suzuki), Azusa Mukami (CV: Daisuke Kishio)

Plot: It's Halloween, and Kou wants to have a party! Since costumes are a must for a proper Halloween celebration, he has brought a few home from work, insisting that his brothers wear them for the occasion. While Azusa is happy to go along with Kou's idea, Ruki, and especially Yuma, are less enthusiastic but relent in the face of their brother's stubbornness—something the latter quickly comes to regret.

My Thoughts: As someone who loves both Halloween and the dynamic between the Mukamis, I (unlike Yuma and Yui) enjoyed this one a lot! The CD does a great job showcasing the chaotic and unhinged energy of the younger brothers, while Ruki briefly displays a surprisingly brutal side to his usual snarky remarks. I'll admit that it did make me laugh, which I feel slightly bad for. Poor Yuma, man.

I'm sure that some of you have seen the official art of the brothers in Halloween costumes, but I for one never knew that it was connected to a Drama CD! Much less this particular one, since the costumes the boys are wearing on the disc initially led me to believe that the story would be Alice in Wonderland-related. Like an AU, or a play, or a fever dream of Yui's. But no. The costumes on the art of the disc have no relevance at all to what happens in the story. Ruki is really cute with the rabbit ears and tail though, so I'm not complaining lol.

On a final note, I decided to add the aforementioned Halloween art below the cut, since I figured it'd be a nice inclusion to the post ^^

celia hates basically all of chris's friends by virtue of them Being Chris's Friends (it personally offends her that there are people who love him better than she ever could in his life), but she has a special distaste for sandra, who she not only dislikes for being a dirty whore promiscuous, but she's also openly accused her of trying to steal chris from her, an accusation that held no weight when it was first leveled at her cuz sandra hadn't thought she cared about chris like that but it slowly became a self fulfilling prophecy as she spent more time with him and his parents and decided "yeah, actually, i am going to steal your son from you and your creep husband you piece of shit, fuck you celia fuck you fuck youfuck you"
