I’m eternally obsessed with how Pillars games allow you to decide background lore about your character through remembering past lives. Honestly fucking incredible and Avowed does it so beautifully. You want doomed romance? You got it. You want siblings who can’t see eye to eye? Go for it? You want the slow sad outgrowing of a mentee with their beloved mentor? Or any combination of the above? Sure!
