i just finished reading Ending The Pursuit: Asexuality, Aromanticism and Agender Identity by Michael Paramo and am incredibly thankful for it. it's a great exploration of how colonialism and imperialism and Romanticism (capital R) have shaped our modern (western) understanding of gender and sexuality and romance and attraction and it taught me so much about how we got here and how we might be able to disentangle from it.

i'm gonna take some time to reflect on the book and might expand more on my thoughts later but for now i can only highly highly recommend it

ok I haven't seen anyone else talk about this but does that one scene in Heroes Rising make anyone else insane? Mahoro yelling "somebody please, you have to protect Deku!" and Katsuki showing up right then, that very second, and when Deku sees it's him and says "Kacchan" his expression is so relieved even through his pain and you can't tell me there isn't affection in his eyes and even though it would've been very in character and he'd just done it to their other classmates Katsuki doesn't even give him shit about needing to be saved and idk that scene is just. chef's kiss.

Man don't I love having a personality disorder that makes me overthink every single social interaction I make. I am hyper paranoid constantly about people's perception of me and I have RSD so bad that I get anxious over rejections that don't exist. A good amount of us in the English department are falling sick, including myself. Today in my post lunch lesson, both Rosa and I sniffed at the same time which made me laugh. The way our sickness is syncing up 😂 And then now I just coughed at the same time as Cat did. If we all took the day off there would be like three people teaching English this week. Which would be jokes to watch and see how the school dealt with that. Last term there was a moment when we were all dropping like flies. Leigh and I were basically single handedly running the whole department. We struggled but we managed and I’ll hold that as a high achievement.
