"in the movies, the golden trio's power was like 99% hermione, 1% harry, and 0% ron, but in the books, they were all equal," THIS. because they are equal and special IN THERE OWN WAY and it hurts me that the movies don't seem to portray this well. harry was the chosen one, he was skilled with magic, and a good leader, but also kind of awkward and he had a troubled life. ron was kind and empathetic. he was funny and ambitious, and while he wasn't always the best at magic (especially not in his 2nd year), he was still brilliant. he felt overshadowed by everyone in his life, being the youngest son in a family of nine with five older brothers. ron was, in a way, power and success-hungry. but he was outgoing, empathetic and alarmingly normal. he was poor, and he knew what it meant to struggle and it shows through how he acts and treats other people. at heart, ron is a teenage boy, and he fucks up sometimes. hermione was a genius, girl in the purest sense, she was often considered the brains of the group in the movies, but her brains were mostly exclusively academic and readable–she could lack common sense at times (ie. in the first book, she tried to start a fire instead of using magic to free ron from the devils snare). she is kind and witty. she is skilled at magic and willing to help others. they're all special in their own ways and it's what makes them so amazing.
