Imagine Caleb as a dad....
Tumblr media
AN: hiii gang sorry for being so inactive, but I have baby fever and a caleb hyperfixation so here!!! I mayyy make this a series hehehe
the eldest (10 y.o) : Caelus → the little pilot
♡ Carbon copy of his daddy. Charming, easygoing, extroverted, golden retriever type little boy.
♡ Sporty as hell..fastest runner in his class, takes karate and rough houses with Caleb and his school friends
♡ SUPER protective of his baby brother and sister. Will punch the lights outta anyone who says anything remotely bad about them.
♡ Possessive of his parents as well. If they don't give him some kind of attention, he will get POUTYYY
♡ Mama's boy, but loves Caleb SOOOO MUCH. Will pester his mom with “is daddy home yet” questions when Caleb is on missions
♡ Writes letters to Caleb before he gets dispatched, since he saw Caleb writing his final letters and didn't understand the actual weight those letters have. (Caleb keeps them in his uniform pocket. Cries anytime he reads them.)
♡ Has mostly female friends. Constantly has to deal with his friends crushing on his dad big time
♡ Not the smartest kid, but he's got the heart. Little boy won't understand everything you tell him, but the moment someone is sad, he will do everything to make them laugh.
♡ Neither parent can stay mad at him for that exact reason
♡ nicknames: Cay, Cay Cay, lili, buddy, champ, sweetheart, cutie pie
♡ Grows up to be a mechanic engineer
Tumblr media
the middle ( 6 y.o ) Castor → little star
♡ Shy baby boy :(
♡ His big bro and daddy's opposite, yet just as kind and big hearted
♡ Daddy's boyy for sureeee
♡ Watches his brother and Dad rough house while he giggles from his playmat
♡ Loves+ looks up to his big bro so much :(
♡ When his baby sister was born, he was super excited to hold her, and even started walking around with her when she learned how to walk. Super protective over her as well
♡ Can read Caleb like a book. If his dad comes home drained from a mission, he will crawl into his lap and cup his face before smiling at him and softly telling him about his day in his cute little kid voice
♡ Oddly reminds Caleb of Zayne when they were kids, always reading, and smiling from afar, yet still a loner.
♡ Sleepy baby; his favorite nap spot is daddy's chest <3
♡ nicknames: Cas, Cee Cee, angel, kiddo, squirt, baby
♡ Grows up to be an astrophysicist
Tumblr media
the youngest (1 y.o) Fiji → little apple :3
♡ The most spoiled little princess ever
♡ Is protected by not one but THREE versions of Caleb… I feel bad for whoever messes with her
♡ Is a mommy’s girl most of the time, but she will only fall asleep in daddy's arms (god so help when Caleb is dispatched.)
♡ Will imitate Caleb with MC and vice versa.
♡ while her brothers are on two opposing ends, Fiji is the middle ground
♡ Sadly not the most independent little one… dosnet know the difference between being put down for five minutes and being dropped at an orphanage. If she can't see her brothers or parents in her sight poor thing will cry.
♡ Loves watching the clouds outside. Will happily stare at that for hours over playing with any kind of toy.
♡ Nicknames : Fifi, Jiji, baby, sweetie, sugar, honey, little one, sweet thing, Munchkin
♡ Grows up to own a bakery
Tumblr media
All of them are lovingly referred to as the fleet :)
Caleb is pestering Mc for a fourth one....
The cutest lil family :3

OK Brennan, if you aren't gonna let me have Aelwyn posted up in the manor at all times, having her use her dramatic villain skills to protect Adaine before going off to teach middle schoolers is the next best thing I could have hoped for. What a mental image--Ms. "I Came Here To Fuck" teaching cantrips to eleven-year-olds. Wild.

hi i love your writing, i have a request could you imagine where ruby talks about being in love with a friend from school, and charles and ruby's uncles are protective and jealous and y/n laugh at the whole situation
the L word | charles leclerc
Tumblr media
“Maman, when did you know you were in love?”
Y/n thought it was such a serious question for an eight year old to ask, but she answered the question anyway.
“Well the first time—”
“You can be in love more than once?”
Y/n chuckled and nodded. “Yes, Ruby, you can. Some people fall in love once, and other don’t.”
“Why?” The girl asked.
“It’s just how life is.”
That stuck with Ruby for a while. Her mother explained the concept of love to her. For being an eight year old, Ruby understood it quite well until she asked if being in love automatically means that you had to marry that person.
“Um . . Not necessarily. Not everyone that’s in love married each other.” Y/n explained.
“Why? They love each other. You and papa love each other and you’re married.” She stated.
“Well not everyone wants to get married. And it doesn’t really work like that. For example, I love you and Mathéo—”
“Don’t forget about Floppy.” Ruby interrupted.
“And Floppy, yes,” Y/n chuckled as the mentioned of the stuffed bunny. “I love my friends and family too. Do you get it?”
Ruby slowly nodded. “I think so. But maman, can I tell you something?”
“Of course, what is it?”
“I think I’m in love.”
Tumblr media
Y/n kept Ruby’s secret until Charles made it back to Monaco for the Grand Prix. Ruby had told her mother about her crush on a classmate from her piano class. Y/n thought it was adorable that her daughter had a crush unlike Charles who thought it was the end of the world.
“She’s too young! She’s my baby!” Charles spoke with Y/n as he got ready for the day. The Monaco Grand Prix was in a few days and he was already stressing about the race, now he had more to stress about.
“She’s eight, Charles. It’s just a little crush. You never had crushes as a kid?” Y/n asked, as she started to make the bed.
“I didn’t care about girls back then, I was too focused on racing.” He admitted. Y/n the stopped what she was doing and stared at him until he said the truth. “Okay, I had one crush, but she didn’t like me back! She liked some boy who stole my favorite pen from school.”
“Poor you.” Y/n chuckled then walked to the bathroom to start doing her hair, Charles walked in with her.
“But now I have the best wife who gave me the best children ever and hopefully she’ll give me more . .” Charles kissed his wife’s cheek repeatedly.
“Keep dreaming, Perceval. Maybe in the future. If we have more, imagine how you’re going to be when they start dating.”
“Oh god.”
After getting ready, the couple and the kids made it to the paddock. Usually, Ruby was energetic and loud, but her behavior that day changed. She was quiet and stayed with her mother holding her hand. When they walked into the Ferrari garage, Carlos was shocked to see a calm Ruby.
“Is she sick?” Carlos asked the parents.
“No, she’s fine she’s just nervous.” Y/n replied.
“Nervous for Charles or Ferrari?”
Charles rolled his eyes. “Actually, she’s nervous for herself. The boy she has a crush on is coming to watch the race, which I’m not happy about so can we please talk about something else?”
“She has a crush? No, she’s too young!” Carlos whisper yelled.
“That’s what I said! Thank you!” Charles brought his teammate in for a hug.
“Unbelievable, come on kids. Let’s go find Aunt Kika.”
Tumblr media
By the time it was time to do interviews, the whole grid seemed to know about Ruby’s crush and each of them reacted similar to Charles and Carlos. Since Ruby’s first paddock appearance, the grid loved her. She had them wrapped around her finger and they didn’t mind one bit.
“What’s his name? How old is he? Do I know his parents? Where does he live?”
“Calm down, Pierre, they’re eight.”
“I need to know who my niece likes! What if he’s not good enough for her? Ruby deserves the world.” Pierre told Y/n as the family and a couple of drivers sat in the Ferrari hospitality.
“They’re eight. Why are all of you on Charles’ side? They’re kids, they’re not going to get married tomorrow.” Kika added.
“I’m not on papa’s side. I’m here for ice cream!” Mathéo said as he continued eating the frozen treat.
“Thank you, Théo. Keep eating, baby.” Y/n kissed her son’s cheek.
“There’s a percentage of people that end up marrying the person they met in their childhood. Ruby could fall into that category.” Charles stated.
“You sound ridiculous right now. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. It’s cute, my childhood crush moved away to Canada or something.” Y/n said casually.
“Is it Lance?” Lando questioned.
“Mate, she said he moved to Canada, I’m pretty sure Lance was born there.” Carlos told Lando.
“Anyways . . . I suggest we keep Ruby in the Ferrari garage at all times then when the race finishes, we take her straight home and we all live happily ever after.” Charles proposed.
“Yeah, that seems dumb. But good luck finding her, she’s been with the boy from her piano class this whole time we’ve been talking. I think Fred is giving them a tour of the garage last I heard.”

Loid POV on Red Circus Terrorist Arc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know that the manga doesn't really dwell on this very long, especially because we're mostly experiencing this event through Anya's POV, but... can you imagine what Loid must've felt? For the great spy Twilight to come "racing back here" from a business trip that was probably significantly far away?
Imagine Loid in his Dr. Forger front, socializing with his fellow doctors on a business trip, when he suddenly gets some spy intel that an Eden College school bus has been hijacked by terrorists.
His heart drops without his permission. He knows that Anya was going on a field trip today. She'd been excited all through breakfast, talking about museums and heroes and spies and wars --- he hopes selfishly that it wasn't Anya's bus (for Operation Strix, of course).
More intel gets to him. It is Anya's bus. Moreover, the attackers are the Red Circus, a violent terrorist organization with a rampant hatred of the upper class, its leader driven by vengeance for his own daughter. He stops breathing--- rambles out some excuse to his coworkers to get away--- somehow still has the sense to hotwire a car instead of driving his own--- gets to the scene, forgets to put on a different face in his panic, just steals some officer's uniform as he rushes to the scene---
How could he have let his guard down? How could he have lulled himself into such a false sense of security? The country isn't at war, yes, but it isn't stable, either. Sending Anya to Eden was never going to be safe. He should've sent her back, just like he almost did when she first got kidnapped. He's not good enough to protect even one little girl-- he's a useless excuse for a spy.
He's utterly useless in the end, even as he does get to the scene. It sorts itself out (somehow???) and Yor is there to comfort Anya, always the loving mother (thank god for Yor, he thinks, and he should be alarmed at how much he relies on her when he doesn't know what to do)
he hears later that his stupid-ass kid was actually the one to de-escalate the situation by getting a FUCKING (fake) BOMB STRAPPED TO HER NECK. He's shaking in his boots--- he's never met or seen anyone with as little self-preservation and bravery as this kid that's now under his care. Is she stupid? Is she deeply traumatized from her time at the orphanage? This creature is incomprehensible to him, but she scares the shit out of him constantly.
How do you take care of a kid like that? A kid that's gone through so much in her short life, who would rather be in life-or-death situations than be apart from him, a random suspicious man she's only met a few months ago?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Twilight has no fucking clue.
He can only self-flagellate for so long. It's a waste of time. He may not know everything about Anya, but he has learned some things.
He hopes that he can find a bakery that sells peanut cakes.

Okay but like you guys know how Toji killed Riko Amanai because she was the star plasma vessel and he hates the Jujutsu world?
Imagine that after killing Riko and just narrowly escaping Gojo and Getou, promising to kill every Star plasma vessel just to spite them, he has a daughter- you, and its revealed that you're the next star plasma vessel, a perfect match for Tengen to merge with and prevent forced evolution, and now Gojo and Getou are sent put to capture you and bring you to Tengen.
And they go, not because they want to bring you to Tengen, but because they want to protect you from Toji, only to find out that you're his daughter that has him wrapped around her tiny finger and oh oh THE HYPOCRISY???? So as long as you're his daughter, TOJI WONT KILL THE STAR PLASMA VESSEL?????
Ans Toji's all like- "ohh you guys don't need to worry about Y/n, I'll take care if her and protect her from anyone and everyone. Yall better leave rn unless you want to have a horrible death." Meanwhile, toddler reader is just in her own little world as she's spinning around in circles because it's fun when the world is spinning and makes her stumble.
Anyways, Gojo and Getou don't believe him, and even if they did, they won't just let him go that easily because fuck that guy, he killed a teen and now has the gall to stand there like he didn't kill an innocent kid.
And Gojo is all like "fuck that, we gonna kill your kid too bitch." He's not, but he's gonna make sure Toji feels scared and doomed before dying.
Immediately, Toji has whipped out all of his weapons, pushing you behind him, and just then, out of thin air, the entire Zenin clan appears to Toji's aid because yes, they hate Toji too, but they adore you and they eint letting white haired bitcha and his emo Buddha bf take you.
As the battle begins, there's someone from the clan who's keeping you safe, moving you away from the battle ground so that you don't end up getting hit, and obviously, they put some headphones and sensory videos on their phone to keep you distracted from the fight. Meanwhile, there is absolute chaos on the field, Getou and Gojo being merciless as they kill one clan member after another.
Eventually, one of the attacks ends up blowing away your "bodyguard" and you're just there alone, unattended and unsupervised, so naturally, you look to the ground and see Gojo wielding Hollow Purple, and you don't know what that is except for a purple orb and since your dear uncle Naoya had been forcing you to take tutoring from the best teachers in tge world, you had learned color theory and immeadiately, without knowing the consequences of your actions, you throw out a yellow orb directly at the purple orb because you were taught in art class that "yellow cancels out purple", but now everyone is looking at you like "did a kid just- neutralise the most powerful Jujutsu technique???? Without so much as breaking a sweat?" And you're just giggling nd jumping up and down, calling out to Naoya "see uncle Naoya??? Those classes were not a waste of money!"
And that's when everyone noticed-
You're alone.
Naobito is immediately yelling at Toji to "collect your chaotic child before she reveals more of her powers and becomes everyone's target!" And Gojo is like "??? Um wtf?? Did a child just beat me???", while getou is springing into action to get his hands on you before Toji can.
Toji beats him to it, grabbing you with one hand while the other pulled out his sword. Getou summoned his own curses to help him attack Toji and simultaneously save you. As the two began fighting, Gojo sent another attack to Toji, who in an attempt to save you, shielded you with his body while taking the impact of hit.
As Toji was down, you were taken away from him by Getou, and while you didn't understand just what happened to your dad, you were becoming distressed as he didn't respond to you. And with your distress came a change in your cursed energy, which Getou recognised and he knew sooner or later, you will have an outburst of energy and hurt everyone in the process, because you're just a kid who doesn't how powerful she is.
So, yanking on Gojo's shoulders and telling him to leave the other members of the clan because they need to leave right now, the three of you teleported out of there.
Anyways, Gojo and Getou decide to take you in because there's no way they're giving you to Tengen, and taking you back to the Zenin clan was also out of the question, AND not to mention, they want to discover more about your cursed energy and help you control it. I mean, Getou wants to help you learn your powers and also give you a normal childhood, Gojo is slighted that he got beat by a child who didn't know what she was doing and he's low key concerned if you're gonna be a threat in the future. So... why not just take you in, and act like your parents because you're a gullible child who'll believe anything, and really has the attention span of a goldfish.
And at first, things were great because Gojo was like a chaotic parent who adored bullying you, while Getou was the calm and collected parent who helped you calm down as you swore you were gonna Hollow Purple Gojo if he kicks the back of your knees one more time. But everything changed when Getou parted ways with Gojo because he wanted to "kill humanity because they're all selfish and cruel🥰" and Gojo was like "babe, no, it's my job to be the sadistic one as a joke and you're the one who's supposed to laugh and say no, humans need us to protect them🥺" but Getou is like no, fuck that. And then Getou is like, well you can give Y/n to me because I love children and I love taking care of her, and Gojo is like "no." While holding a very struggling child that wants to scratch his face off, and Gojo only said no initially just so that there's something for Getou to come back. He knows how attached and fond Getou has grown over you. But Getou just sighs and goes "aight. Shared custody it is then. See you in 8 months, Y/n! Give your papa a kiss🥰" and you do.
And yeah, everyday since Getou departure, you can see the changes in Gojo's behaviour. It's not bad exactly, he's depressed for sure, and he's doubting his principles every step of the way, BUT he's kinder to you and to humans in general now. Meanwhile, whenever you do meet papa Getou, with Gojo's supervision cause my man doesn't trust Getou to not take you away and turn u into a killing machine, you can see the changes in Getou's personality too. He may still have that same kind, noble, shaman facade going on, but you see the way he looks down on the weak and on the non sorcerers. You see how he uses people as means to achieve his ultimate goal. Sure, you can also see that he still adores you, but you... dont know if you still love him with his view of the world.
Then one day, it happens. Gojo has finally killed Getou, not because of any ill intent, but because he simply threatened his students and the innocent people of Japan. And even though you knew this day wold eventually come, you still didn't forgive Gojo for a long time. You cried and fought against him, until Gojo had to eventually knock you out just so that your breakdown wouldn't unleash cursed energy and endanger everyone.
After Getou's death, Gojo's behaviour towards you and in general did a whole 180. He became the kinder, softer, gentle parent towards you. The empathetic teacher who pushed you but also consoled you when you failed, instead of the previous Gojo who would ridicule you for failing to master a technique.
Getou's death had definitely changed Gojo in other ways too. He had become more protective of you, always keeping you around because he couldn't bare the thought of losing someone else (Riko, Getou, etc). He keeps a close on you, watchubvvyour development and progress like a hawk because he knows you will soon be wanting to help him on missions, or worse, go solo. He doesn't want that, he can't have that. So the more you push Gojo to let you be independent, the more he tells you to sit down and practice more because you're just not ready yet.
Then one day, you reach your braking point and just- leave when Gojo is busy with his students. And this turned out to be a big mistake because the moment you had left Jujutsu High, it seemed like you were surrounded by thousands of enemies. Everyone wants to either kill you or capture you, and you don't even know why (because Gojo never revealed to you about your family or you being the star plasma vessel). Fortunately, you had trained enough to fight these assassins, and by the time you were done, you were tired and wanted to return back to Jujutsu High, but before you could, someone knocked you out.
When you woke up, you were lying in bed in a traditional Japanese home. Soon, a man with blonde hair came in, introducing himself as your uncle Naoya. He revealed who you were, how he was your family, how he saved you from Gojo, the man who stole you and killed his family members.
Of course, you call bs because why wouldn't you?? Naoya gives major prick vibes without trying so yeah, you didn't trust him at all. Then he pulled out pictures of you, of Toji and everyone else, and you vaguely remembered them, but not enough to believe him because Naoya could just be manipulating you to be compliant for human trafficking.
And then he takes you to another room, on the way you see a lot of other people who are looking at you fondly and have tears in their eyes, they seem like they want to say something or touch you, but Naoya glares at them to move away. Eventually, you reach a door and on opening it, you see a man sitting on a wheelchair, looking away from you.
"Who's that?" You asked as Naoya gently pushed you in. He walked towards the man, turning his wheelchair around and your breath hitched-
"Y/n, meet Toji, your-"
"Dad?" You whispered, recognising him as memories flashed through your mind. How- how could you have forgotten him all these years?
Tears began flowing down your face as you saw his miserable state- his face emotionless, the man was missing an arm, and he looked pale and weak.
"Gojo did this to him." Naoya began. "While your father was fighting, Gojo tried to purple Hollow you. But Toji took the hit instead, protecting you. He almost died that day, but with a little cursed energy, we were able to save him." He sighed, patting Toji's shoulder. "Unfortunately, he is paralysed. The cursed technique we tried to save him, has sent him into a vegetative state. He can't move, can't speak, doesn't even react."
More tears fell as you began questioning if Gojo really did this. Then again, if he was so innocent, why did he never tell you who your father really was.
"Why- why did you bring me here?" You asked.
Naoya scoffed. "Why wouldn't I? I had to save you from that monster. Look at what he did to your father! How could have I just leave you with him? You belong here, with your family, with your clan!"
"I cant- I can't stay here." You said, tearfully.
"Why not?"
"Because Gojo will find me. And when he does, he will hurt you all. I- I can't have that-" but Naoya pulled you into a hug as you began sobbing into his chest, heart heavy with guilt at the sight of your father.
"Shh, its okay. This is not your fault. You didn't do this, Gojo did. Which is precisely why you must stay here, with me and with your father. Besides, you don't need to worry about Gojo. I'm not a weak sorcerer, yknow? And not alone either. Plus, I remember you neutralising Gojo's attack pretty easily as a child. I'm sure you're better at it now. Obviously, not better than your uncle, I mean who are we kidding? No ones better than me-"
Yeah, you're remembering Naoya alright now.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Gojo is losing his mind and is on a murder spree through Japan to find you. He doesn't even know who fucking took you, and Naoya may not be as strong as Gojo, he is pretty good at hiding, like a rat.
Besides, Gojo isn't the only who's looking for you.

☆༉ — KATSUKI BAKUGOU. pre-k teacher!au.
Tumblr media
about. some random headcanons of bakugou being a pre school teacher bc i think that he’s great with kids and would try so hard not to fall in love with his student’s mom.
warnings. minors, blank and ageless blogs do not interact. sfw, bakugou is soft for kids, reader is a single mother, fem!reader, pre school teacher!bakugou.
Tumblr media
personally, i think bakugou would make a great pre-school teacher.
imagine a quirkless universe where bakugou decides to work with kids because he knows that in a world where everyone turns against one another — kids are the only ones who have never done wrong. as a pre school teacher, he tries to be the person he wished he had protecting him.
the class pre-k teacher!bakugou gets assigned are known to be ‘his kids’. they have their own system, in which bakugou claps once and they all scramble to sit on the carpet for story time or know to stack their handwriting books up neatly at the end of their tables. the kids like that their teacher is strong and able to pick three of them up at once, they order that he plays heroes with them or sometimes dresses up like a princess from the story book before nap time.
pre-k teacher!bakugou's class is the most well behaved, the little ones always snuggle up to him quietly when it’s time to sleep and listen well before they’re let out into the playground for time out doors. it’s almost like he gentle parents them too — your kid in katsuki’s class is particularly sensitive at times, but the blonde always gives her a little time to cry out her feelings in the reflection corner because kids will always figure their shit out even if they can’t articulate it properly.
“what’s wrong, sweetheart? can ya try ‘n tell me what’s up?”
pre-k teacher!bakugou who gets along well with the parents but doesn’t dare to cross the boundaries of professionalism… except for when it comes to you. the flustered young mum who’s trying to get her life together with an extremely shy and stubborn daughter that takes bakugou months to crack. he bribes her with special books at reading time, the first pick of pillows and blankies for naps and even helps her tie her shoes when he’s not supposed to.
but only because of the way your eyes light up at your daughter’s progress a few months later and the way you cling to pre-k teacher!bakugou's arm (whilst trying not to cry) when he tells you that your daughter is finally setting in with friends.
he absolutely cannot have a crush on you, however.
pre-k teacher!bakugou makes homemade snacks for his class that meets every dietary and allegory requirement of every kid he has — more often than not it’s fruit and veg, he tells his kids that they get superpowers from eating healthy. but sometimes he indulges them with gluten free brownies or muffins, sending extra home for the parents too.
pre-k teacher!bakugou puts his funny reading glasses on whenever a student of his makes him a piece of art. they always giggle. no matter what’s been made, the creations from his kids always go up on the ‘bk class wall of fame’ — he feels sentimental over each blob drawn onto colour paper with sprinkles of glue, pasta, buttons and glitter. they mean so much to him, he can’t help but adore the gifts he’s given.
pre-k teacher!bakugou who tries not to cry when his class move up a grade. he promised himself not to be like this, but the kids are squeezing and hugging him, showering him in end of year gifts as a thank you for being the best teacher ever. bakugou isn’t very good at hiding how much he’ll miss his kids — especially your little girl who he’s so used to having by his side until you pick her up everyday.
but when pre-k teacher!bakugou starts clearing out his classroom for a year, he finds a card from his favourite student (your daughter) and inside is your number scrawled quickly in the top right corner.
‘been waiting for this all year. call me, now that you’re not her teacher - xxx’

Slipping Through My Fingers | Azriel
Tumblr media
Azriel x Green Witch | Summary: it's your baby girl's first day of school and Azriel isn't ready to let her go.
warnings: fluff/angst; some suggestiveness at the end (bonus scene)
a/n: This is part of my ABBA x ACOTAR series (masterlist) where I dedicate a song to a character (: but also my Dandelion series. I really adore this song and this was the only series I could apply it to. This can pretty much be read as a stand alone imagine. All you have to know is that reader is a witch and is an established relationship with Az.
Tumblr media
In the quiet hush of morning, Azriel and Melaina find themselves at the breakfast table with sleep in their eyes. The floor is cloaked in their shadows, joining one another at their feet in a vast sea of darkness.
Yet, the dance of their shadows harbor distinct meanings.
Though he tries to hide it, your keen eyes pick up on the subtle poignant unease in Azriel's demeanor. An undercurrent of melancholy taints the air, prompting you to send a reassuring tug through your bond. Azriel returns the gesture, his hand finding yours across the table. Meanwhile, Melaina quietly finishes her breakfast. Her shadows, a whirlwind of nerves and excitement, betray her impassive appearance. Today is her first day of school, the precipice of a new chapter in her life, and Azriel can't help but grapple with the realization that his little girl is growing up far too quickly.
“All done, my pretty?” You ask softly, gaze alight with admiration as her small wings flutter behind her.
She’s the mirror image of her father with her captivating hazel eyes–a perfect blend of greens and browns that remind you of the nature you’re so fond of. Two braids cascade down her shoulders and delicate bangs accentuate her sun-kissed complexion. When she was born, you had joked that you had given birth to Azriel’s carbon copy and little did you know that even her personality would match his.
Melaina nods and you rise, taking her plate to the kitchen sink. The corner of your lips lift up into a smile when you hear Azriel ask, “Are you sure you want to go to school? You can always start next year.”
“Mel is more than ready for school,” you lightly chide Azriel, who chooses to ignore your words of consolation.
His gaze is fixed on Melaina, a plethora of scenarios plaguing his mind. He wishes he could see what’s really on her mind–to be able to foresee any worries she may have and ease her through them. The same way he’s eased her through every milestone of her life thus far. He was there when she took her first steps, when she first got hurt from tripping over a rug that he immediately disposed of after, when she said her first word–which much to your dismay was your cat’s name, Binx.
But now, she was ready for school. Her first time being away from home without you or him or his brothers by her side. Her first time being on her own. What if the kids in her class don’t take well to her? To her shadows? He remembers the apprehensive looks he’d receive in Windhaven when growing up and the thought of anyone doing the same to her pains him. What if they are mean to her? What if they hurt her?
The obsidian tendrils at Azriel's side stir with an eerie melody, commanding Melaina's shadows to rise. They snap to attention like disciplined soldiers heeding orders. An unspoken promise unfolds—her shadows would help guide her and protect her from any lingering stare or slightest suspicion of malintent. They return to her side as she rises to her feet, tickling her sides and causing her to giggle.
Azriel smiles and shares her laughter, capturing every minute of it, the feeling in it.
**
There’s that odd melancholy feeling again as he stands in front of the school with Melaina on one side and you on the other. He can’t help the frown that settles over his face when she wiggles her tiny hand out of his grasp to run to her cousins. You’re following after her, tugging Azriel along with you to join his brothers and their mates at the front of the school.
“Good morning, Azriel jr,” Cassian greets her with a smile, playfully tugging at one of her braids. “Are you ready for your first day?”
Melaina lets out a huff. “Of course I am, Uncle Cas.”
Cassian then looks toward Azriel, who continues to brood, and chuckles. “It doesn’t look like your daddy is.”
Azriel glares at Cassian. You leave his side to hug Feyre and the frown leaves his face at the delighted squeal that comes from you, his shadows singing in response. He turns his head to see you and Feyre exchange smiles while you gush in excitement over her growing belly. Though Feyre looks at Azriel with a knowing smile, her words are directed to you.
“Rhys was the same way with Nyx,” she muses and out of the corner of his eye, Azriel catches his brother rolling his eyes. But he doesn’t deny it.
“So was Nesta,” Cassian adds, propping an elbow on Nesta’s shoulders. She shoves him off with a shrug before chiding after their twin boys, Cardan and Calian. The aftermath of the aphrodisiac you made–or rather, remade–for her after Azriel accidentally drank the first batch.
“I’m surprised you’re faring well with this,” Feyre says with a raised brow at you.
“Well, someone has to be the strong one,” you tease, side glancing at Azriel and squeezing his hand.
Azriel lets out a small huff, similar to the one Melaina let out earlier. He knew you were also stressed and a little sad but you were surprisingly able to hide it better than him. But unbeknownst to him, just in case the obsidian necklace she wore was not enough, you had casted a protection spell over Melaina before she went to bed…and packed her bags with a variety of charged crystals.
The gathering of students at the school's entrance slowly disperses, and Azriel tenses beside you, acknowledging the imminent moment of having to say goodbye. Nyx, ever courteous, takes it upon himself to accompany Melaina to class. Azriel suspects Feyre's influence in Nyx's gesture, as if she intuited the added difficulty for him and you. He watches as Melaina walks back to you and you lean down, gently smoothing her bangs before placing a kiss on her forehead.
“Today will be a wonderful day for you,” you affirm for her with a radiant smile, making Azriel's heart melt at the sight of the two girls he loves the most.  He wishes that he could freeze the picture and save it from the funny tricks of time.
Your hand delicately reaches for the obsidian crystal suspended from her neck, lifting it tenderly to your lips. There’s a flash of green light that engulfs the crystal and as you release the necklace, Azriel notices the new sparkle to it. “Love you, my pretty.”
Though Melaina doesn’t verbalize it back, her eyes radiate a golden glow and the soft caress of her shadows against your face feels like a tender whisper that articulates, "I love you too.” You pull her in close, hugging her smaller frame and lean down to whisper. But Azriel’s attentive senses still catch it.
“Now hug and give your daddy a kiss so he doesn’t cry.”
Azriel resists the urge to roll his eyes. Feeling a tug on his sweater, he leans down to meet his daughter at eye level. Opening his arms expectantly, a surge of warmth envelops him as she eagerly rushes into his embrace. A tender kiss graces his cheek, accompanied by the familiar caress of her shadows against his other cheek similar to the way they had done with you. He pulls away to look at her, holding her gently by the shoulders. He knows her shadows will do well to protect her and if those aren’t enough, her older cousins are just a couple of classrooms down the hall. But he needs to hear her say it.
“What will you do if someone is mean to you?”
Melaina’s eyes light up and she steps out from his hold. True to the goddess you named her after, she's a tiny vision of nightmares and madness, as she assumes a defensive position, her shadows dancing around her.
“Kick them in the face!” She exclaims as she raises her leg up with a glare directed toward her nonexistent enemy.  “I'll make my enemies bleed.”
Cardan and Calian follow after her while Nyx wisely keeps a safe distance, amused by the spectacle of his younger cousins engaging in an imaginary brawl. Cassian watches them fondly, striking punches of his own into the air but you’re shaking your head with furrowed brows. Azriel catches the pointed look you send his way and a subtle blush overtakes his cheeks as you’ve discovered his secret. He continues to read Melaina, those books you told him not to.
“No, Mel, that’s not–”
“That’s my girl,” Azriel grins as he rises to his feet, feeling slightly better. He rustles her bangs fondly.
The sound of the school bell echoes through the park as a final warning that class should be beginning shortly. Azriel reluctantly shrugs Melaina’s backpack off his shoulder, the small bag looking ridiculous on someone of his stature. He adjusts it on her with careful consideration for her delicate wings and feels an ache in his chest as the backpack nearly engulfs her smaller frame.
As the faint rustling, reminiscent of rocks shifting, comes from the bag, it is Azriel’s turn to send you a subtle yet pointed look in your direction. A suppressed smile tugs at his lips when you quickly avert your gaze and he realizes he wasn’t the only one keeping a secret.
“Off you go, my little shadow. See you later.”
Once the backpack is secured to her, she takes Nyx’s waiting hand and runs off to the entrance with him. Azriel almost frowns but then, at the top of the stairs, she turns around, waving goodbye with a small absent-minded smile.
He watches her go into the school with a surge of that well-known sadness. Tears prick his eyes and though he knows he’s being dramatic, he can’t help the feeling that he’s losing her forever. His sweet little girl who keeps on growing. She’s slipping through his fingers all the time.
**
Bonus scene
Before his family could indulge in making fun of him, Azriel grasps your hand, drawing you close as he summons his shadows. The inky tendrils swirl around you both, transporting you back to the familiar sanctuary of your home.
"If this is your reaction on her first day of school, I can only imagine what you’ll be like when she has her first crush," you say, a teasing sparkle in your eyes.
Azriel's grip on you tightens. He doesn’t want to grapple further into the inevitability of his daughter's growing independence because to him, Melaina will always be his baby girl. A subtle strain echoes in his voice as he pleads, "Don't."
Easing out of his embrace, you giggle at his dramatics, strolling toward the kitchen with a lightness in your step, intent on brewing some tea. "It's just a couple of hours, Az," you reassure him.
"A couple of hours?" Azriel echoes, a pensive note in his voice as he joins you in the kitchen.
Having taken the entire week off, he had intended to be present for every moment—dropping Melaina off and picking her up during her first week at school. He didn’t plan for much other than that and he was used to spending his days off with his little family but now Melaina was off at school, leaving the two of you alone.
The kettle placed on the stove begins to whistle, harmonizing with the new thought that brews in his mind. You’re raising your steaming cup of tea to your lips, peering over at Azriel as he walks up to you. “What? You want some?” You ask, raising your cup to him.
Azriel shakes his head with a smile. Carefully taking the cup from you, he places it onto the counter behind you. He gently but firmly holds your chin, coaxing you to meet his gaze. The faint blush on his cheeks returns, a soft hue that complements the golden brilliance in his eyes as he looks down at you with adoration because you’ve given him everything he’s ever dreamed of and more.
Still, there's an insatiable desire within him for even more moments, more shared dreams, and more of you.
“Let’s have another?”
“A baby?”
Azriel nods, attentively studying your features for any nuanced emotion. He feels relief when you smile and you voice your answer without having to say anything, flooding him with love through the bond you share. The two of you had discussed having children years ago, almost two years before having Melaina. After she was born, you mirrored each other’s desires for having more but had agreed on waiting but not too long as you wanted your children to grow up together.
“We do have a couple of hours to ourselves,” you remind him again, embracing him with arms entwined around his neck, fingers brushing through the back of his hair.
He hooks his arms under your knees, lifting you up with ease and you’re wrapping your legs around his waist. He grins when your legs tighten around him and kisses you.
“Let’s not waste another second.”

I have a new brainworm about steve harrington that I need (NEED!!) to share
imagine this for me: it's 1983. nothing eventful happens, at least in the supernatural sense. steve and nancy still date, he still drops his terrible friends when he realizes they're not gonna support him if it doesn't fit their agenda, he still accidentally becomes close to a bunch of seventh graders when nance asks him if he can babysit--
(not that he'd ever say no to her, but it's not what he envisioned the summer of '84 to be like, okay?)
--and overall, things are relatively normal for him. his parents continue to be absent, but they still get excited for him when they learn he has a girlfriend or won a new award at the end of the school year for something sporty or what have you. they're not bad people, they just don't know how to be good parents. and they're always, always away.
but the thing about 1983, is that his final interaction with tommy before he "broke up" their friendship by dating someone kind and sweet and "perfect" like nancy, was him getting absolutely wailed on. enough that he went to the hospital with a severe concussion and some damage to his optic nerve. the doctors told him he already has something going on with his vision to begin with, probably a genetic disease passed down from one of his folks, that increase his chances of going blind earlier in life. meaning, if push came to shove, his vision could go entirely if he got into any more scruples with ex-friends or people who just generally disliked him.
and then lucas sinclair asks him for dating advice, because he likes max mayfield, the new girl in his class, and ultimately it lands steve being the chauffeur for their first date just days after halloween in 1984. by now, he and nancy have broken up — they weren't emotionally available in the ways they needed to be with one another, and steve knows his dream of the future is different from her own. this time, there's no speech about bullshit or faking it. they simply both know that their expiration is upon them and call it quits.
(it still hurts, but he told lucas to shoot his shot, because if there's anything he's learned by dating nancy wheeler, it's that projecting his heartbreak and hurt onto others is a gateway to toxicity in the water; and by god he is not sabotaging this kids emotional maturity, okay? okay)
so he takes the kids to bennys burgers, because lucas insists it's "cool enough" for this girl, and he doesn't want to overdo it by going somewhere too fancy. but when steve returns to pick them up, there's a hiccup in the plan.
billy, maxs step-brother and steve's most recent bother at school, is there, gearing up to try and scare lucas off, or do something worse. steve, anointed babysitter and generally protective friend, steps in without hesitation. the fight that results makes the local news. steve lands in the hospital again.
his vision doesn't go completely, but it goes enough. enough that he can't drive, enough that he'll have to find large print books or simply relearn to read altogether in braille. enough that he's advised to get a cane or a guide dog. enough that, when all is said and done, his old life has been completely upended.
jonathan--
(the same jonathan who has now swept nancy off her feet the way steve used to)
--surprisingly, is the one who ends up getting close to steve after this. he tells steve about what it was like when will was found after being missing for a week, about how he knows it isn't the same, but that he relates to the feeling of oh god, everythings different and nothing I used to have is coming back. he doesn't divulge on the details, but steve knows he's serious about understanding the feeling.
even more surprising is nancy, who commands him every day that god dammit steve, your life is not coming back unless you take it back yourself and then reassures him in the same breath that he's not weak for needing help doing so.
and then the kids join in too. and steve harrington isnt a king anymore of anything, but he's the king of his own life, he's the king of himself. he starts going back to school even when he feels embarrassed to be there, like he's an imposter or ill equipped. he starts going to public places just to meet poorly concealed whispers with something friendly and witty in return. he starts taking his power back in a way that never needs to hurt anyone, that never needs to hurt himself.
he also discovers he loves bright colors — neons and pinks and reds especially. he takes a trip with nancy and barb one day to indy on some sort of girls trip (they've long since made up since the first house party, and barb latches onto steve as a best friend shockingly fast in the wake of his and tommy's split), and it's there that he meets someone punk for the first time. he develops a fixation on the colored hair, the leather and spikes and denim with safety pins in it. he badgers the girls about teaching him how to wear eyeliner.
it's his gateway into punk style, which is then a further path into the subculture itself, into colored laces and battle vests and the politics and social aspects. steve takes to it like a fish to water.
the name steve harrington used to mean something entirely different. even though he calls his parents every day since the incident, even though they've been back to see him multiple times, even though they've tried to be present in their strange, semi-absent way, they still haven't seen him since his transformation from local jock to local punk.
needless to say, he spends a lot more time educating them about his "waywardness" and a lot less time actually excitedly telling them about the next color of his hair. but the harringtons aren't unaware — they can see how while this may be a creative way for steve to begin expressing and discovering himself, it's also an armor. no one really wants to fuck with someone who will trip you with his cane if you're being an asshole, someone who wears a lot of spikes and other sharp objects on their body for fun.
so they let it be. and they stay a little longer, this time.
this shift doesn't go unnoticed by the local gossips, but it also doesn't go unnoticed by the "freaks and geeks" at school. he develops, quite by accident, a reputation that rivals that of the king of freaks at hawkins. eddie munson wears the title proudly, clings to it with every antic and every quip that feeds into the rumors about him. but he respects what it took for steve to get here.
so he invites him along to a hellfire session. which turns into two. which turns into steve becoming a party member, which turns into him excitedly telling the kids he babysits that he gets it now, that yes, they can absolutely host their games at his house as long as they have rides back home.
but as he and eddie get closer as friends, eddie notices that as well as steve has done accepting himself as he is, he still misses the things he used to do without thinking much about needing sight to do it. contact sports and movies and other very visually inclined things. and listen, eddie's happy that steve has renounced the toxic social scene of jockdom, he really is, but he also recognizes a guy who misses pieces of his old life.
(he finds himself missing his old life, the life before wayne, all the time, just for the parts that didn't hurt him)
so eddie, much to steves surprise, suggests he try joining the swim team for the final quarter of his senior year. and hey, fuck it, what can it hurt? he's already a nerd now as well as a punk as well as disabled — he can go for one more oddball, not-quite-jock occupation. the coach has several stipulations, all of which steve takes in stride.
he's granted a tryout. he doesn't make it on.
eddie, in his wildest nightmares, doesn't touch sports. he's already athletic in other regards, naturally good at sprinting and lifting heavy things from taking equipment to and from band practice. he doesn't think he actually needs sports, but he's willing to go with steve to lake jordan to keep practicing. he's seen how stubborn harrington is, and he's not about to stop it.
eventually, they do these laps across the lake and back (it's a pretty small lake) just to get high once they're done. and fuck, if steve can swim the length of the lake, he can get a job at the new starcourt mall. and he does. he's there at scoops ahoy the bare minimum of hours they're required to give him to technically say he's employed, but at least he has work. his friends visit him there after their own jobs are done for the day, and eddie consistently shows up just to bug him.
robin, his coworker, is impressed and startled by this version of steve. she'd say she doesn't trust it, but there's nothing to trust really, about the shock of bright green hair or the way his eyes aren't actually that focused looking, or about the way he casually tells stories about getting high and swimming the length of lake jordan. not to mention, the chemistry he can't physically or metaphorically see between him and eddie is laughable to her, and entirely too obvious.
she ends up with one bad trip from the wrong dealer, and steve stays with her through the comedown, and she realizes she would probably die for him, because he sits there and listens to her buzzed ramble about tammy thompson and his bagel crumbs and other dumb shit from when he was still in high school. he's the first person she's ever come out to, and she's the first person he's ever thought could be a soulmate, the kind he'd never give his body but would marry in a heartbeat if she asked him.
he tells her about billy. she tells him about her mother. they tell each other a lot of secrets, more than he's ever told jonathan and nancy, or barb, or even eddie.
and then their workplace gets set on fire from a gas leak after hours. they pack up and go to family video, because they're a package deal. it's barb being on the crew that convinces keith to let steve take the job, and he has a new shtick joking about being a blind guy who likes movies.
then eddie probably takes him to one or two or maybe five. then they maybe make out after one of their swims. then steve starts going to eddies shows at the hideout, starts going with him damn near everywhere, and this was the kind of companionship he needed from the get go but didn't have. the kind where they support each other's interests without changing themselves for it, the kind where there is love born from fierce and unwavering friendship, the kind where loyalty is unquestionable but agreeing all the time is optional. and god.
steve harrington has been blind for a year. and he wears metal in his face and color in his hair. and he and his friends gather for movies just for the enjoyment of it. and he swims the lakes of hawkins with his boyfriend. and he plays dungeons and dragons with the kids who haven't let go of him just yet. and his parents aren't who he needs them to be yet, but they're trying. everyones trying. and eveyrone is enough.
and he's enough, at the end of the day.

Soldier (Part 1)
Part 2
Fem Reader x Raphael
Warnings: Violence, Kidnapping, Suggested Assault
Tumblr media
He's been fighting this fight since he was a kid, watching from the shadows, keeping the people of his city safe. Ensuring they can go about their nights unmolested, living boring middle-class civilian lives he could only dream of.
For a long time the bitterness of it consumed him. His teenage years were spent learning to navigate his rage. By his early twenties he'd reached a sort of acceptance. He wasn't happy, or even content, really, but he'd fallen into a comfortable routine and he wasn't quite ready to check out early just yet.
Wake up, check news, coffee w/ dad, check police reports, work out, team meeting, gear up, head out.
The city was his mission, his purpose.
Then he met you, and his mission changed.
Instead of checking the news before rolling out of bed, he started checking for texts from you. Instead of using his lifting time to work through problems and strategies, he uses it to think up excuses to visit. Instead of grabbing a quick cup of coffee at Casey and April's halfway through the night and getting back out on patrol, he sticks around, sometimes for hours, just to talk to you.
And he's grown used to it. To you. To the softness. And while he still goes out on patrol every night, he's started feeling less and less like his only purpose in life is protecting the city.
For the first time in his life, he feels like a person. A real person. And he loves it.
.
Two quick raps againt the metal door as Raphael strides casually into the lab, "Hey, you heard from (Y/N)?"
Donatello doesn't look up from the very tiny reclaimed motherboard he's working on. "Nope. Shit." He jerks his hand back as he singes himself on the soldering iron, cursing his oversized fingers. "Truth be told, I could use her help, too." He looks up at him, "Why?"
"I don't know. Just a feeling."
.
The first thing you notice is the fuzzy feeling in the back of your throat. Then the headache hits full force. Drugged. Your eyes blink open and you squint though the pain into a dimly lit warehouse. As you look around you, you're alone.
The boys have been trying to find the central location of a weapons trafficking ring, and while out today, you'd stumbled upon a lead. Was it really stupid of you to follow it with no communication and no back up? Yes. Are you are preemptively annoyed at Leo for the lecture you are rightfully going to receive later? Also, yes.
Ahead of you is a concrete wall about ten feet wide in blooming shades of sweat-stain yellow, the back of some kind of office, you imagine. Around it and you is an open warehouse filled with crates and equipment, and as the ringing in your ears subsides, you hear some kind of operation buzzing around on the other side of the wall.
You close your eyes as the world spins, and reach for your head with your hand. All you're offered in return is a sharp pain in your wrists. Zip ties. Okay, this is getting worse.
You know this. They coached you on this. It was one of the first things they did. Basic kidnapping protocol. They had a lot of enemies, and the second you laid eyes on them, you became a target.
"Assess the situation."
Once the dizziness passes, you open your eyes and try your legs. Ziptied to the chair legs. Your hands are tied to each other behind your back. Your bag is on the desk ten feet away with your phone peeking out of it. You can hear talking not too far away, but whoever they are is out of sight. In front of you is the wall, behind you is a large roll-up bay door.
"Find where they fucked up."
The chair legs are straight, and no one is watching. You tip the chair back, sliding the zip ties off the ends and looking around before standing as silently as you can. You step through the loop of your arms bringing them in front of you, breaking the hardware store brand zip ties the way they taught you.
"Stay low. Get creative."
You make it to the desk. A middle-aged white male with a patchy goatee stands on the other side of some crates. You manage to grab the strap of your bag and wait until he turns away to pull it toward you. You're careful not to change the location of the bag on the table, just turn it enough to knock your phone off the desk into your hand.
"Find a way to get to us. Even if it's just a phone call."
.
Raph's phone rings in his hand. He holds up and points to it before answering.
"Hey."
"Help me," you whisper into the phone as quietly as you can.
Your whisper is a siren, pulling all focus to the phone in his hand. He makes eye contact with Donatello, who stands as his brother tenses.
"Where are you?" He puts the phone on speaker and sets on the table in front of him. He leans in, straining to hear you.
"I don't know.... I'm in a warehouse, but that could be literally anywhere."
"Describe it." Donnie interjects, striding over to the table, you hesitate. "The smallest detail will help. Don't just use your eyes."
You take one last glance around and close your eyes. You breathe deep. Salt. Iron. The silence of a wide open outside, not the cramped streets of the city.
"The Yard. I'm in a warehouse at the Navy Yard." You look around, the new information providing context, "It looks old. Rusted through in some places. I'm-"
You scream as your violently pulled out from under the desk by your upper arm.
"(Y/N)!!!" Raphael roars, bracing against the table.
As you're being dragged to your feet, you kick your phone under one of the taller stacks of crates. The boys listen as you're tossed, unceremoniously, back into the metal discount party supply chair, and backhanded across the face for emphasis.
The force of the blow nearly knocks you out of the chair, but as you right yourself, you're laughing.
"What the fuck is so funny?" Shitty goatee demands, his fetid breath washing over you. Why can't bad guys brush their teeth? It's basic hygiene.
You grin up at him through bloody teeth, that even now are probably cleaner than his, "There's been a trace running on that call from the moment they picked up."
"Shit." He says, annoyed. He sends a couple lackeys over to move the crates.
"Won't do any good," you call over, "they probably already have your location by now."
"Why? Who did you call?" The man demands.
You blink up at him. He doesn't know? So you were kidnapped by just a normal... everyday asshole...?
Oh, this poor, dumb bastard.
"Just a couple friends of mine," you say casually as your grin widens, "They're gonna tear you apart."
The man straightens and looks down at you with a disgusting smile. "Listen, bitch. With the amount of firepower in this building, I can't wait to see 'em try."
You look over at the guys trying to move the crates and get to the phone. The man takes that opportunity to grab you roughly by the hair and throw you down against the concrete.
"In the meantime..."
Seventeen seconds. That's how long it takes to find a location. That's how long he listens them hurt you.
.
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Head down 'til the work is done
Waiting on that morning sun
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Head in the dust, feet in the fire
Labour on that midnight wire
Listening for that angel choir
You got nowhere to run
You wanna take a drink of that promise land
You gotta wipe the dirt off of your hands
Careful son, you got dreamer's plans
But it gets hard to stand
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Head down 'til the work is done
Waiting on that morning sun
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Quiet now, you're gonna wake the beast
Hide your soul out of his reach
Shiver to that broken beat
Dark into the heat
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Head down 'til the work is done
Waiting on that morning sun
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Soldier keep on marchin' on
Soldier, Fleurie and Tommee Profitt

Hi Max (is that your name? Idk what to call you 😅), did you ever think about Severus’s daily routine—being a miserable, depressing teacher, surrounded by loud kids every day? How did he cope? Did he have any hobbies to pass the time? What did he even do all day when he wasn’t grading essays, teaching, or brewing potions? Or was that all he did? Probably read books… or perhaps he socialized with the portraits and ghosts.. I always imagined the idea of him doing nothing but the same routine every day to be really sad and depressing. But I suppose he was so numb to that lifestyle that he just got used to it.
But like.. what made him happy? I can’t imagine living a life doing a job I hate, with no friends to share my small joys with. Was he just a shell of a man? Maybe he really was depressed. How did he not kill himself? Did he only keep going out of sheer spite and his promise to protect Harry and fight against Voldemort?
Or maybe he did have some kind of social life..in pubs, in the Muggle world… idk, I have a hard time understanding how he stayed alive for so many years. I would’ve ended it, tbh. My life is my family and my hobbies, but mostly my family. I can’t imagine what life does to a person who doesn’t even have one person they can laugh with. How did that affect him?
Maybe he was at least friendly with Minerva and Poppy? And Dumbledore, sometimes and perhaps he corresponded with Lucius. But who else? 😅 He didn’t seem super close with any of them in the books, so I guess we can only argue they were on friendly terms at best. I'd love to know your thoughts. 😊
Heyyy! Actually, my name isn't Max, but you can call me that since it's the nickname I have here, so it's all good hahaha.
Well, let's see, this is something I've thought a lot about lately in terms of character development, and I think I would divide it into two parts: Severus before Harry entered Hogwarts, before Voldemort returned, and everything that followed, and Severus after he’s already caught up in a spiral of anxiety and work overload, plus being a double agent.
I think during his first years at Hogwarts, he was probably in a crazy depression, and not only because of feeling guilty for Lily’s death, but also because he was just a 21-year-old kid when he started teaching, because he was teaching at the same place where he’d been bullied, because half the people he usually interacted with were dead and the other half were in Azkaban, and because I think it must’ve been pretty hard for him to adapt to a life he really didn’t want and one he had to get used to. So, in his early twenties, I picture him as kind of a zombie, after that terrible shock, the end of the war, all the emotional damage, just a few years where he was simply going through the motions, getting used to teaching, everything was new, so that’s what his daily life was based on. I've always imagined him having a pretty good relationship with the Malfoys, I think especially when he was younger, he’d visit them now and then, maybe on weekends... But he’d spend the holidays at Spinner’s End, and in the summer, he’d lock himself in his childhood home and not leave, because being stuck there was always a kind of self-imposed punishment: Hogwarts was a prison, his childhood home another, and if he hadn’t earned his way out of one, he didn’t deserve to leave the other.
I think his reputation as a nasty teacher was forged over the years, as he gained more confidence in front of the classes, he became stricter, more demanding, and didn’t tolerate nonsense. This was probably around 25 or so. I see that phase as one of accepting grief and loss, gaining more self-assurance at work, also starting to gain more trust from Dumbledore, and beginning a rivalry with Minerva, whom I always see him resenting a bit for letting certain things happen, but at the same time, respecting her as a colleague. I picture him very focused on his work, even obsessively so, to avoid thinking about other things. He would assign as much homework as possible so he could keep his mind busy correcting it, or simply practicing potions when his sessions were over. I imagine him sleeping terribly, deciding to do extra rounds at night not because he was interested in catching students in the act, but because he couldn’t sleep well, also because it gave him an excuse to leave the castle and smoke a cigarette since everything was just so damn anxiety-inducing. I never saw him as someone extremely sociable with other teachers because most of them were already teaching when he was a student at Hogwarts and didn’t lift a finger to make his life any less miserable, but I do see him being quite polite with most of them, though never opening up personally or anything like that, always with a shield up. I think he preferred staying reading, working, or studying potions rather than going to social gatherings with them or anything like that. I don’t see him being comfortable hanging out with them or having a drink. But I do picture him being comfortable going to Muggle pubs when he spent his summers at Spinner’s End. Shitty pubs with shitty people who were already drunk from early morning, where no one knew him, and he didn’t have to explain anything to anyone, in a world where there hadn’t been a war, no one had died, and he hadn’t been part of any shady organization. I imagine him going to those kinds of grim places when he wasn’t at Hogwarts and his house felt too suffocating, having a couple of beers. I picture him having occasional, short-lived encounters with Muggles, nothing serious, just a one-night thing to let off steam because he was in his twenties and felt alone, surrounded only by kids and old people, and that was just a damn depression. I imagine him visiting the Malfoys from time to time, as Draco was getting older, and I imagine Narcissa insisting that he needed to find a good pureblood girl, as she had always done since he was barely a teenager. I picture Lucius telling him that he didn’t understand what the hell he was doing under Dumbledore’s leadership in the first years, but seeing it as a good opportunity as Draco was approaching 11. I don’t imagine him having much of a social life. I think he talked a lot with Dumbledore, had many conversations with him, and saw him as the father figure he never had. I also think he had a genuine friendship with the Malfoys, and that created a very strong conflict and cognitive dissonance for him, but he couldn’t avoid it because they had always treated him well. But I think, within what was possible, he had free time, could do his own things, have his moments, his casual encounters, read his books, peaceful stuff.
And then came Harry.
Honestly, I think life after Harry at Hogwarts became pure anxiety for Severus. Because it wasn’t just managing Potions classes for seven damn years, being Head of House, doing night patrols, but also having to follow the kid around every corner to make sure he didn’t end up headless. Because Harry wasn’t just a responsibility, and he wasn’t an easy kid, but a kid who loved getting into trouble, so Severus had to babysit him both inside and outside of his work hours. And the fact that Harry came to Hogwarts only indicated that Voldemort’s return was getting closer, and when he returned, Severus completely lost his life. I mean, once he became a double agent, his life revolved around pretending on both sides, having cover stories on both sides, risking his neck, being constantly between Voldemort and Dumbledore, having to follow the plan, protect Harry, teach, work for the Order, put up with the Death Eaters, Lucius in Azkaban, Draco being doomed to kill Dumbledore, and a lot of other things. So, I basically picture him abandoning any hobbies he had, losing around 15 kilos, and just going on because, in the end, he was a kid from the streets who’d been raised to survive, and he had survival mode on 24/7, with anxiety through the roof, and that was basically it.
And then, after Dumbledore’s death, I picture him super depressed, super alone, with everything collapsing around him because the people he fought for hated him, and the people who didn’t hate him were the ones he had to betray, and I can’t imagine what that must have been like emotionally, but it probably involved a lot of wine and going back to smoking after having quit for years, because who the hell doesn’t start smoking again in a situation like that? And more anxiety, more depression, and the desire to do absolutely nothing but having to keep going, no matter what.

Class b opinion on quirkless classmate? Like are some treating them like glass, some who think they shouldn’t be a hero, others who admire them or respect them, etc
Not proofread we die like men
Awase - he gives off the same energy as the kid that grew up really racist that mostly grown out of it but hasn't really nailed what is and isnt okay to say ya know? Hes cool with them but every now and then he will say something absolutely crazy about them being quirkless. White grandpa saying the nword randomly vibes but in a good way ykyk?
Sen - im sorry sen fans but hes a bit of an asshole. He would probably try to pick a fight by saying to their face how weak they are. Not necessarily because he has some vendetta against quirkless people but because he was just always told by everyone he looked up to that they were weaker. It would take some serious work to change his mind
Kamakiri - he will probably think theyre weak until they do something to prove themselves in some way like beat him or someone stronger in a fight or something like that. After they do that though he isn't letting anyone talk shit about them
Kuroiro - he writes some dramatic ass poetry about them being quirkless so he can try to 'better understand what theyre going through' he gives the poem to them so they can check its accuracy lmao
Kendo - at first she will feel a bit of a need to protect them but it dosent take long for her to realize that they are at UA for a reason and they dont need to be treated like some defenseless citizen
Kodai - shes a pretty neutral person about everything but even she was a bit surprised when she found out her classmate was quirkless. She didnt want to protect them since they were here for a reason but she cant help herself from feeling like theyre weaker.
Komori - at first shes a bit surprised that someone quirkless managed to get into the hero course but other than that she doesn't care. She treats them the same way she treats everyone else
Shiozaki - she definitely feels a need to protect them (at least for a little while) and it takes her quite a while to realize that they are just as capable as a hero as herself and the rest of her classmates despite not having a quirk
Shishida - hes probably a bit sad for them. Like he feels bad that they dont have a quirk like its a bad thing or something simply because he cant imagine life without having one ykyk? He thinks hes being nice when trying to help them or by trying to sympathize with them saying to stay strong or whatever when hes not helping in the slightest
Shoda - he treats them like someone that needs protection for a long while and it probably takes them beating his ass in training for him to change his mind.
Pony - she doesn't really care tbh. As long as theyre nice she likes them and treats them how she treats everyone else. They probably end up being good friends ngl
Tsubaraba - he tries to show off his quirk in a 'i can protect you' kind of way but it just comes off a bit ass-hole like. He dosent mean any harm but hes a bit stupid when it comes to certain things. He does definitely think his quirkless classmate is weaker but hes probably proven wrong quite quickly lmao.
Tetsutetsu - he dosent care that theyre quirkless. I mean this is a hero school that only the best can get into so if anything hes impressed asf and thinks its super manly
Tokage - shes a little skeptical at first but over time she gets more used to them and becomes pretty good friends with them. It does take a little bit though only because or internal prejudice against quirkless people because of how she was raised (we love fantasy racism here)
Manga - he honestly didnt know they were quirkless for a while. He just thought they didnt like to show off their quirk or it was something people couldn't really see. After he found out he made a mini comic about a quirkless hero because he found the idea of a quirkless hero cool :)
Honenuki - he is so nice i swear. He not only treats them the same way he treats everyone else but he makes sure he knows their abilities so he can accurately determine if they can do something on their own or if they need help. Ykyk
Bondo - he was definitely worried for them for a while (probably still is) but he dosent vocalize it or even act on it at all. He knows they are very capable and he feels a little guilty for thinking this way but at the end of the day they are still quirkless and theres a lot they couldn't do that quirk users probably could.
Monoma - he uses his quirkless classmate as leverage against class A. He will walk up and say shit like 'your class is so weak that my quirkless class mate could beat the shit out of anyone in your class.' And they will just be behind him, trying to get him to stfu
Reiko - she is the queen of not giving a fuck. As long as they can prove themselves then she dosent care about them being quirkless. Shes probably one of the only ones that treats them as she would anyone else straight out of the gate
Rin - hes probably a bit skeptical at first honestly but he quickly realizes that they are just as capable as anyone else despite being quirkless. Hes tries not to treat them differently since theyre quirkless but he finds it hard to not ask about it since hes curious about how they live as one of the only people without a quirk

7 Sins Legacy - generation 4 (pride)
Supriya: Do you remember that expensive bottle of wine that we have in our wine cabinet? It was all the way in the back. Rohan: Yes?
Tumblr media
Supriya: I want to take it to that charity event I'm hosting in a few days, but it isn't there anymore. Rohan: Oh? I didn't take it. Maybe Yasmine took it for one of her dinners with her co-workers?
Tumblr media
Supriya: No- She would ask me. She always asks me. Rohan: Maybe you placed it somewhere else? Somewhere you forgot about?
Tumblr media
Supriya: I haven't touched it Rohan! It's gone! And it's not the only bottle that is missing! All from the back of the cabinet so we wouldn't notice- Gulshan has a problem. He drinks, smokes, skips classes, and who knows what else he does we haven't found out about?
Tumblr media
Rohan: Did you ask him? Supriya: There's no point! He won't tell me the truth! He never does- Always lying about everything!
Tumblr media
Rohan: Don't you think that... How do I say this... That maybe you're putting too much pressure on him? Supriya: Too much pressure?! Do I tell him that what he's doing is okay? Imagine if it reaches the media: San Myshuno's politicians have alcoholic teenage son- Do you have any idea how bad that looks?
Tumblr media
Rohan: Well... It's not really something to worry about right now. We'll deal with that if and when it happens- Supriya: You know what?! I don't think I'm putting enough pressure on him! He clearly needs it! I already called a contractor today to get a safe installed in our basement. So we can put our alcohol in there. I was thinking about it for a while, now seems the right time-
Tumblr media
Rohan: Supriya, listen, I get that you're mad about it- I am too. What I'm trying to say is... I think you're trying to mold him too much into someone he doesn't want to be. Supriya: You have to be kidding me.
Tumblr media
Rohan: I'm... Not. He can't see his friends or go anywhere without you keeping track of where he is and what he does. He avoids you whenever he can. Supriya: What do I do then, Rohan?! Let him do whatever he wants? He'll ruin his life. He just needs more help pushing him in the right direction-
Tumblr media
Rohan: No- listen. I know you love him and want to protect him, but if you try to control him like this, I think all you'll end up doing is push him away... With the drinking and everything else as a result. Supriya: I gave him everything and he has such a bright future... And all he wants to do is sweat above a stove in the kitchen of some decrepit restaurant.
Tumblr media
Rohan: Hey, that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Remember how hard you fought for what you wanted when you started your career? What you believed in? Even if you didn't think you would ever get the opportunity to lead our party? Don't you think Gulshan deserves an opportunity like that?
Tumblr media
Supriya: I just... want what is best for him. Rohan: I know, that's why we have to give him a chance to follow his own dreams... Not yours.

My theories on the album covers
okay, I'm having many thougts based on the posts on tiredandlonelymuse and I'm trying to articulate everything so hear me out:
the standart cover is the only one that the face isn't interchangeable, and it's also the only one that we see only the face, covered in makeup in a way that evokes tenderness, innocence, melancholy, doll vibes. it could also be like when a child tries to do their makeup to try to emulate being older, playing pretend, but you can still see that's only a child, an innocent being. (i wanted to articulate more on this but i'm having trouble expressing myself in english)
now to the expression on her face. it feels like they're daydreaming, or dissassociating. the gaze looking far away, as if she's not mentally here anymore. see, this is their "tender core", who as a child "became such a skilled dis-associator that I split in two".
“Leave your body, and go somewhere else.”
so this cover we see Ashley, putting makeup on to play pretend as if she's someone else, dissassociating from their reality.
also i want to include this excerpt because i feel like it relates somehow: "My therapist once told me, “You are the guiltiest feeling person I’ve ever met” and just to prove her right, I took it to heart. An astrologer said, “You have so much water in your chart. What is it like to feel the emotions of every single person alive, everyday?” and I wept because I sensed he was displeased. A teacher told my parents “She’s very sensitive. Far more than the other kids in her class.” I took my SATs at 9 years old, but they encouraged my mother to hold me back because of how my eyes glistened when I heard the word no."
Tumblr media
ok, so now onto the variants.
for the empty faces, we have "I will always reassemble to fit perfectly for you" "Someone new peeking through the room. I fear the name you whispered is mine, I’ll know it soon. I’m headless, I’m just limbs. I think they’re coming in. I already died, so this is extra time."
and if the empty space is a mirror, "Her voice and visage a reflection of your deepest dreams and darkest fears." "Standing now, in the mirror that i built myself"
Tumblr media
on the covers with the faces on, i read some posts on @inthenameofloveforthesakeofpower that made me think
the only variant that's looking away and is expressing some emotion is the 70's one. the others are looking directly to the camera, displaying no emotions.
but at the same time, they all relate to this part "In a confusing chain of events, my maladaptive daydream became my full time reality. My armor can walk and talk and they look just like me."
and these variants showcase the "ability of a woman who can become anyone, anything your heart desires. Friend, lover, foe. She transforms before your very eyes."
we establish that the variants are the Halsey persona, the armor, that protects the core of Ashley while also being able to transform in every form imaginable.
OK NOW TO THE FUN PART: why is blonde halsey the only one looking away?
her face on this particular cover looks A LOT like the close up on the standart one. it's not the same photo, but both of them have this look of melancholy and dissassociation. andd i just noticed that the eye makeup is the same on both covers!! the eyelashes and the black liner are exactly the same.
blonde halsey is related to the song The End, the most personal song released, talking about their health struggles. This comes from ashley, the person who is sick. but she's releasing the song under the cover of halsey, as if she's the child that's putting make up on to appeal to the world. that's why we can see her with the same expression, looking away in fear when becoming this other persona. she's too scared to tell these big news by herself.
then we get to the other covers, where her maladaptive daydream became their full time reality. that's why they all are looking directly to the camera, because they created their conciousness, they're the reality now, they are in the present.
i'm seeing as if the covers are progressing, as in each one that passes she's getting more and more into the halsey persona
pink halsey, the last on the scale, represents the songs Lucky and Lonely is the Muse, both of wich feels like it's Halsey talking from their experience. She's a popstar, she's so lucky, but why is she still so sad? She's a muse, built from special pieces that can always reassemble to fit perfectly for you.
also back to blonde halsey x the others, i have this other theory where there's this part "I already died, so now I see it open eyed. I already died, so I am justified." she could be the only one with conciousness, seeing it open eyed
Tumblr media
ok that's it for now!!! i'm sleepy but my head was bubbling with these thoughts so i needed to write them down! i'm sorry for any errors or if i couldn't express myself correctly, i'm writing on my second language so some thoughts are difficult to translate. i'm probably super wrong about all of this, but i had fun writing!!

Okay sat, I might’ve forgotten to my anon mark at the end of my last message aand I’ve reread part 4 like 5 times, but still,
what the fuck, literally was thinking abt it in all my classes. And I will be yapping, as I guessed.
First of all, fuck Kafka really wish I was tbh she is so annoying, like just assuming r isn’t that upset, like they’re just having a little argument when r is grappling w the fact that they fell for a criminal, and literally killed their coworkers and a ton of other people, she is pissing me off. Also the stuff abt Kafka and her nihilism…giving me some thoughts. Btw have himeko and Kafka encountered each other in this, or has Himeko just heard abt her? And shes so nice, calling r everyday and being so understanding…
I can’t imagine what Kafka did when she found out she got blocked. Her going to text u and then realizing she’s blocked…kafka pausing when she sees that r blocked her. Kafka waiting to get unblocked as she orders gifts for u, who keeps checking her phone for messages from u as she sends more gifts, reminiscing abt when your first met in the store, silver wolf and blade noticing how Kafka seems to be waiting for smth, Kafka who decides to text you on an encrypted number to see how you’re doing, Kafka who sees that she isn’t forgiven and orders so many fucking flowers bc she didn’t know ur favorite. Ugh I can imagine her bringing all of them into r’s house, god she’s pathetic, I need to kiss her so bad so she shuts the fuck up.
anyway I may or may not have started writing a Kafka fic 👀 tbh I don’t rlly read romance novels so idk how the typical academic rivals thing usually works, trope wise. For some reason I keep fixating on her fucking nails. Like to me, she has them manicured all fancy, but Im fairly certain shorter not manicured nails are better for fingering. On her violin ofc, obviously. I played cello middle and high school, and I kept them long, bc I liked scratching people don’t ask I was a strange kid, but I feel like she’d keep them short bc she’s rlly serious abt it. Also Kafka is so dislikable, her ego is so big, and she’s always calm, like if she didn’t look like she was trying and still top of the class it’d piss me off too 😭
Also in the wardence event rn, I haven’t played it bc I’ve been sleeping or smth like that, but silver wolf shows up 😭 like ik it makes the most sense, since she has holograms but Kafka showed up as a hologram once ok 😭 but what silver said is like “i heard u we’re joining the wardence, and two whose names I won’t mention insisted I go check on you. Why couldn’t they do it themselves.” Ugh Kafka is so obvious it’s actually gonna kill me. And yes wtf couldn’t Kafka have showed up, she’s worth like 11 billion, so ik she can’t show up all the but cmon.
-🌠
hehfjfjgjfjfj posting a new chapter and having ppl go “man fuck kafka” is funny as hell because honestly, yeah, fuck her😭 i think it was important for me to portray how her personality can be irritating in certain contexts and how being with her really wouldn’t be bliss all the time cause she doesn’t deal with emotions much, and that includes others’. she’s not totally detached from them which is why she does try but it’s very clumsy. it’ll be elaborated on in the next part but in her mind she really has picked the best outcome here and even if she was acting in her own interest, she was protecting R, she’s just an information hoarder. being on the opposite side means you dont know wtf is going on in her head and cant explain her behavior as anything else but “she doesn’t give a shit about me”. it’s an interesting situation to write that’s for sure but im glad that her efforts, though genuine, make yall feel irritated bc thats the point hehe
what i wrote about kafka’s nihilism was not entirely true, and i did it on purpose because R doesn’t know her. i do think that nihilism/finality creates a certain distance between her and accountability. when you tell yourself that this outcome was always a possibility, that it could have happened anyway, the choice you make is no longer fully yours which means that the consequences aren’t fully on your shoulders as well. i think that makes it easier for the stellaron hunters to do what they do, that and the goal they’re working towards that is supposedly the best outcome for humanity. but kafka is anything but passive. she is not “subjected” to things, she has an active role in her future and the ones of the millions of people that it touches within the constraints of destiny. i think with nihilism it’s easy to fall into a state of learned helplessness, where you suffer through the things happening to you because “nothing matters” and “it was going to happen anyway”, but kafka is not like that at all. “if destiny doesn’t propel me forward, i’ll be the one to push destiny”— this is what she does, so describing her as a drop in the ocean isnt entirely accurate because she’s making waves. R will learn that
himeko and kafka have crossed paths canonically before the trailblazer so it’s the same in this. i like that himeko has an opinion of kafka that has been cemented through their brief meetings over the time. in that one “keeping up with star rail” where kafka’s kit is presented, hime has a lot of shit to say about her 😭 all bad. she’s also aware that kafka plays mind games in it so really for her to hear “kafka manipulated me” was like “fork found in kitchen” there’s no surprise there. one of my favorite qualities in hime is her understanding and ability to understand multiple perspectives at once, it develops her already deep empathy and its just very admirable. shes a very soft character, i love her
AND YESSSSS SHE DEFINITELY REACTED LIKE THAT TO BEING BLOCKED HDJFJFKKG she stared at her phone like “oh. they’re really mad” and decided to give them a few days to cool off which is why she sent the first gift and after that she’d be wondering whether to text you or not for like a week; would open her phone, type in your number, pause for ten seconds then go “they’re probably still upset” and send another gift. silver wolf would be like “damn youre on your phone as often as i am. whats wrong with you” and firefly’s eventually the one telling her to go there herself to apologize and not wtv tf shes doing which is why kafka finally texts 😭 shes funny asf. the sheer ridiculousness of ordering hundreds of flowers and taking over half an hour to place them inside your apartment (that she technically broke into) to surprise you is so patheticcccc i would have swooned a bit im sorry. like omg youre pathetic get out of my house but also kiss me before you go… “forget it i’ll just get all of them” can she die 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
aaaaa im glad you have time to write the academic rivals au!! typically people have the rivals work together in some sort of assigned group project to force them to interact together but you can go about it differently, like one of them’s practicing for a big piece and the other gets to the practice room too late but but the others are taken and they have to practice the same thing anyway so might as well. or the mc is struggling and kafka happens to pass by and give her some (snarky) pointers which turns into her showing her how its done and the mc actually learning from her (which would make me homicidal). they could also just happen to meet outside of the school context and start developing a new relationship that way. do what feels right!! and yeah, kafka’s nonchalance makes it seem like shes effortlessly good when in reality she takes that shit seriously and practices often😭 it’d still piss me off tho idc
silver wolf showed up in the other event and its just so ridiculous how they always have her everywhere man😭 like fine she’s always keeping up with new games coming out and shit but would it kill them to show kafka once im gonna tear my hair out, we even got to text firefly during the wardance like im gonna screammmm. but kafka and her sending SW to check ip on the tb is so stupid they care so bad😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 typical of kafka not to show or text herself i need to strangle her. the lufou hates her tho so it’s WHATEVER.

I don’t specialize in one fandom, but I do read a lot! Here are my top MHA fics of this year. I did finally read a bunch of fandom classics this time, and so if you’re wondering if any of them are still worth your while these are the ones that caught my eye!
For Their Sakes is probably my favorite though if you just want to skip to that one. So many good contenders, but that fic changed the way I look at Hawks completely. From an “eh” character to, Love Of My Life
Aim For the Heart — 5K | Gen: In which One For All died at his brother's hands, but inexplicably, is reborn as Aizawa Shouta
All That Matters in the End — 269K | Gen: Midoriya Izuku and Aizawa Shouta are brothers. It changes... everything
Anyone — 244K | Gen: Imagine a world where your quirk determines your path and your worth. A world that has no place for a quirkless boy. Despite that, Izuku is determined to become a hero. Until he realizes no one will let him. So he accidentally creates a helpful (criminal) organization. And he (not so) accidentally steals One for All.
Beware Stained Glass Shards — 3K | EraserMic: The world is shattering around him, his life burning out from under his feet - but at this point, with the nerve of Oboro's death still raw between his ribs, with Shouta's absence an event horizon in his chest since the day he walked out, all Hizashi can do is feed the flames
Cardiac Arrest — 190K | Gen: All of the dead at Kamino Ward had been accounted for, sans one. One body had been pulled from the rubble, lifeless and limp, and taken away
Cheat Code: Support Strategist — 197K | Hatsume/Midoriya: After All Might gives Izuku a much needed reality check, he has to find a new dream. When he learns that the support course at UA offers an emphasis in Intelligence and Analytics, it sounds like the perfect new passion for him to throw himself into
Deku? I Think He’s Some Pro… — 191K | Gen: Izuku Midoriya goes home and decides that, even if he can't be hero himself, he can still help them with his analysis. Cue Izuku catching the attention of multiple heroes who are a little more open-minded and willing to see the potential in a quirkless kid
For Their Sakes — 312K | Gen: Ten years in the future, Hero Society has fallen and Villains have taken over the world. The seven survivors of Class 1-A (and Shinso) scramble to save what little they have left but after one last, fatal attack, they know they’ve lost. Their enemy is too powerful. There is no one left to save. Their only chance for victory is in the past, so to the past they travel. Unfortunately, there are some unforeseen side-effects…
It’s a Dangerous World Out There For a Kid Like You — 59K | Gen: Izuku had read a statistic in a magazine once. As few as 1 in 10 Quirkless children survived their first year out in the streets. Izuku was 15 years old
Little Liar — 149K | Gen: Deku was raised as a villain until, one fateful day, he manages to escape. All Might is there, ready to adopt and protect him, but there's a lot of ground work to make up
Lost and Found — 23K | Gen: When Izuku is eight, he makes his first real friend, the new transfer student Shinsou Hitoshi. As school and home life goes from bad to worse, Izuku and Hitoshi have only each other to rely on. That is, until they meet a tired man in an alleyway
Mild Mannered School Teacher/Adrenaline Junkie Vigilante — 136K | Fuyumi/Rumi: Fuyumi Todoroki was stressed. She was always the peacekeeper, the ice-quirk user who calms the hot-headed members of her family. What was she supposed to do when she was frustrated, and couldn't calm herself down? Go onto the streets and become a vigilante, of course
Negation — 19K | Gen: Passive Quirks are a bitch. Izuku is reasonably done with the situation
Paper Agency — 47K | Shinsou/Midoriya: Brand new U.A. graduate, Shinsou Hitoshi, has a lot on his plate between finding a job, looking for a place to live, figuring out what his relationship with his mentors is going to look like now that they're not teacher and student anymore, and why his civilian boyfriend, Izuku, is acting so damn weird
Something Still Remains — 3K | Gen: Aizawa Shouta is two years out of UA, and three years grieving the death of one of his best friends, when a stranger knocks on his door in the middle of the night
Summoning Problems — 4K | Gen: Izuku develops an inconvenient quirk. Hisashi Midoriya is not prepared
Throw Me a Goddamn Rope - Just Enough to Hang Myself With — 111K | Gen: All he did was walk Izuku Midoriya home. It wasn’t meant to turn into whatever mess this is
Tickets to the Todoroki Trauma Drama are Buy 1 Get 1 Free — 24K | Gen: When Fuyumi gets hit by a quirk that body-swaps twins, she wakes up somewhere else—despite the fact that her twin died a decade ago. That’s confusing enough on its own, but why is she surrounded by villains?
Viridian: The Green Guide — 272K | Kaminari/Midoriya: After his dream is finally crushed, Izuku isn’t quite sure there’s anything left for him to live for, but...he can’t exactly kill himself either, not without hurting the people he cares the most about. So, when he realizes that the quirkless can’t technically be vigilantes, it seems like the best of both worlds

Hey I am actually curious about a post regarding Inko. I said in my tags she’s always seemed more a plot device to me other then a few times I kinda went: why? About her actions.
I am curious on your take if you would like to post about it. I’ve written her as bad, good, neglectful, dead and so on. I like hearing other opinions on characters. It helps me take a closer look into them and figure out if I’m biased, to judgey, not seeing it from another angle and so on.
Heya!
Your ask really surprised me, because so far, I found people to be at the one or other end of the extremes (good mom inko or inko bashing) - but hey, if you're willing to listen, I'm happy to talk!
Rest below the cut in case this'll be a veeery long post
Before I dive deeper into Inko's personality, I want to point out that Horikoshi designed her as a background character, which means that her actions must not drastically alter the course of the story. Moreover, she was likely designed around a stereotype or a handful of traits.
My guess is that stereotype is your average good mom.
In Izuku’s childhood, she lets Izuku watch All Might's debut over and over again, even though she finds it scary, simply because Izuku likes it so much.
I actually revisited that scene to make sure I remembered her dialoge right, and noticed something else: When four-year-old Izuku says he wants to be a hero, she looks worried. Of couse she does; she finds that video scary because hero work is crazy dangerous. All Might is smiling but there's blood running down his temple. Not to mention that there's a good chance Izuku won't have a strong quirk - she says neither hers or Hisashi's are "special".
She apologizes to Izuku after learning that he's quirkless because she's very empathetic (that video that brought him joy before now has him crying), and, more importantly, because she's powerless.
She is raising Izuku alone, Hisashi probably works abroad to secure their standard of living - and they live in a small apartment, not a three-storied designer house like the Bakugo's.
Their background is not poor, maybe, but modest, and Inko simply has neither the money, power, influence or even the emotional strength to make his dream of becoming a hero come true.
Buy support gear? Not in the budget.
Get an agency to take him on? No connections.
Sign him up for a martial arts class? Maybe, but then, other heroes can fight AND have quirks. They'd always be better than him.
Afaics all of that doesn't describe a "bad" mom, just an ordinary person with ordinary limitations.
On a side note - kids' dreams can change a lot. If Inko had been less empathetic she could've just said "we'll find another / similar goal for you". (which is basically what AM does later, but I won't focus on Toshi's rooftop speech here - that's a topic in and of itself.)
Fast forward 10 years. For later reference, keep in mind that Inko knows her son carries a dream in his heart she can't fulfil but wants to.
Now, the bullying at school is something Inko is very likely in the dark about. Izuku probably doesn't talk about it at home, and even if she noticed, that doesn't mean she was successfully able to stop it. Imagine Inko finding out and confronting the bullies (or their parents) - there's a chance they'll just be back the next day saying "little baby went crying to his mom". It can backfire.
She could have pulled him from that school (which is a pretty extreme measure, and there's a risk the bullying continues elsewhere) However, I think what happened in canon was that Izuku simply kept it a secret and Inko remained oblivious to it, because Horikoshi had no interest in telling a story about a mom struggling to protect her son from getting bullied.
Occam's razor: The right answer is usually the simplest one.
The same goes with Izuku keeping quiet about All Might mentoring him. You think she would have let him train with some stranger at a waste-filled beach? Hell no.
But if Izuku had told her / she would've figured it out by herself, Horikoshi would have needed to establish some sort of relationship between Inko and All Might, AND she would've had to know at least a part of the secret that made Izuku the "chosen one" of the story. Effectively, that would have put her much closer to the core of the plot.
That's not what you want with a background character. The story was meant to be about Izuku, not about Izuku's mother.
Still, what Inko did do during the 10 months of Izuku's training was to support his decision to apply at UA by letting him work out in preparation for the entrance exam and cooking the meals he asked for. She also sewed his costume!
I imagine she was just happy to see him so enthusiatic and determined. (Maybe worried UA would crush his dreams ... now that I think of it)
This trend of Inko staying oblivious to the main plot continues throughout the entrance exam, and I think it becomes especially obvious at the sports festival. Question: Why did Horikoshi chose to have her faint during the broadcast?
My answer: So she doesn't pull the plug on Izuku's UA adventure. She's happy he got a quirk, and okay, he isn't used to it yet, but I really don't think she enjoys watching him break his bones over and over. And at the sports festival, if she hadn't fainted, she would have seen Izuku vs Shinso and Izuku willfully destroying his hands going up against Shoto. He would not have been able to claim it happened on accident or that it wasn't as bad or something.
Who knows what she'd done if she'd seen it? Try to pull him from the school? Get him quirk councelling? Therapy? Forbid him from using the quirk until it's safe to use? (He would've used it anyway)
Whatever she would've done, it would've had a big impact on the story. So Horikoshi kept it from happening, and I don’t blame him, he's had about 30 more important characters and plot lines to juggle.
I get that "neglectful Inko" may be a result of that obliviousness being interpreted differently.
What else have we got?
Inko picked Izuku up after the Stain incident at Hosu. I'll have to look up the scene, but I remember her being besides herself with worry (again). Yes, Izuku comforts her throughout the series, and that's because he's emotionally more stable than her (not by a whole lot though).
Inko got her big scene during the parent-teacher meeting with All Might after Kamino. There's been some build-up to this: Izuku repeatedly getting injured, UA failing to prevent villain attacks. She doesn't want Izuku to get hurt over and over, but she can't take away his dream, either. She's not strong enough to tell Izuku to his face she thought of puling him from UA.
Then, All Might is sitting in front of her, and she is faced with a choice: Either to continue to sit idly by, worrying and despairing, or to use the only means she has to put pressure on All Might and the school. It took a lot out of her to make that stand. She's a housewife - a nobody, All Might's a celebrity. No wonder she's shocked when he kneels before her.
It seems like a very meaningful scene, but it doesn't interrupt the plot at all: Izuku remains at UA, Inko becomes just another voice telling Toshinori to live. But: She tried to stand up for Izuku, or rather, his well-being.
And even if she'd gone against her son's dream - it's still a parent's job to keep their children safe. Technically, she should have acted much sooner, but I imagine then we'd have Inko bashing everywhere.
You can blame Inko for being weak, for not being strict enough and for being too emotional. All of which are completely ordinary flaws. And if she were strong and strict and rational - she'd be the complete opposite of Izuku and probably not very likable.
PS: I got not much of a comment on Inko's appearances in season 6 and after - I'm not a fan of the whole "students becoming child soldiers" thing and the later arcs in general. All I can say is, that, when Horikoshi allows her to make an appearance, she's genuinely worried for her son for three seconds before Izuku's off to chase the plot again. Not even All Might could stop him at that point anymore - Horikoshi let class 1-A do that.
