#Mouthwashing #blood #body horror #Emphasizing here that this is in reference to a media and character and not a cry for help on my end.#Mouthwashing is one of those games that tickles my brain and checks all the boxes for my niche interests -#-but it wasn't something that got the silly comic part in my cortex firing up. My analysis brain is eating well though!#What said...It is impossible for me to see this scene and not say out loud: “Me in the middle of my work day".#While there is a lot more going on with curly I personally resonated a lot with his struggles with burnout.#Burnout feels like mouthwash to me. That you keep rinsing out your mouth trying to get rid of the rotting smell #but it's just surface level solutions. The real cure requires something far more significant to actually make a difference.#The job 'is hard' and 'everyone struggles'. It's part of the process right? You're tired? Anxious? Depressed? Us too! Chin up!#Actually I resonated with a lot of things within Curly (this is a curly positive space - he's not perfect. He's just human).#One thing being his desire to see the good in people and believe in their potential.#Because here's the thing. Some people truly do just need someone in their corner who stands by them so they can grow and improve.#And some people will take advantage of your kindness. You focus so much on their humanity while you stop being a person to them.#The horrifically toxic relationship persists because Curly tries to see the bigger picture and believes in the good within.#Anyone who has lived through constantly trying to reframe the hurt as something else knows-#-just how many excuses your brain will make to avoid cognitive dissonance. It's human psychology.#Jimmy sucks so bad. But we the audience have the privilege of not having years of baggage associating him in our minds as 'friend'.

I don't remember last I mentioned it but apart from crude nicknames to people (except Chris), he also just puts them in his phone really weird (except Chris, who is literally in his phone as Chris). And I bring this up because in Right's phone, Karen is saved as "Lawful Obligation".

My post about Anya is making like a little ruckus on Twitter and I think it’s crazy how many people like have a problem with it.

Like you don’t have to agree with how I characterize Anya and her actions but it’s more like, why are you focused on only one aspect of her character? Why are you removing nuance from the situation? I don’t see it as giving Curly the benefit of the doubt when it comes to doing better for Anya, but as exploring his character and hers relationship with a the very little authentic facts we get about them. In truth, there’s a lot more I wish Curly did, even if it wasn’t pragmatic but I realize the issue there.

The first psychological horror game in a while that’s real intricate in its storytelling and makes you need to really need to address the morality of intentions and its already getting torn asunder smh 😔

#I don’t know if it’s the case of people who hate curly and think he should’ve just killed Jimmy won’t accept anything else #but I really am trying to get the idea that they were stuck for over a year in space together on a ship barely kept together with wildly #different and conflicting personalities who also got more hostile because they know they are going home to unemployment #it sounds heartless to say and he should have prioritized her more but in his head that’s not the only thing he has to manage and he has to #fit the necessary actions to take in his head with all that including his perception of them as a friend vs as a boss #idk I just don’t believe Curly was comforting Jimmy with the intent of helping him get rid of Anya. he wanted to help both of them he went #about it horribly like the game is literally about realizing how misguided you can be and that responsibility #and how to be responsible look different even if there are better options like it’s just weird just block my ass dawg #also I think the argument of how could the situation be worse if he stopped Jimmy is stupid cause it’s under the guise that Curly would #assume someone he trusted would just try and commit murder suicide or he’d get degloved and all his crew directly #or indirectly killed by that friend like sorry if that’s a reach statement like adding #your supplementary thoughts is how analysis is born but adding facts about events we don’t know happened and treating them like character #truths is lame is a cop out from actually engaging with parts of the story that adds grey areas to characters you wants to see in black #this is just a stupid like thing to me but it makes me sad cause I don’t even hate seeing depictions of Curly as more aware and #accommodating to Jimmy purposely but I need you to understand he thought he was doing the right thing for both his friends and his closest #friend but the key point is he thought he was doing right for both of them like what game were we both watching???#mouthwashing #like just block me pls like Anya would not share ur mindset or hold ur hand like do more than just pity her if you like her so much

#please ignore the rest of the tags i will just be making things up #okay they start out in carolina but at least half the episode takes place in dc. do not ask me how travel logistics would work #tory spends the entire episode off with tempe doing bone stuff. booth feels upstaged by a 16-year-old girl #so he goes and hangs out with ben who does NOT trust him right off the bat #ben ends up having to run him over to liri at some point because there's crime afoot and tom is busy. they spend most of the ride in silenc #ofc they end up bonding Eventually because they are both obsessed with crazy emotionally stunted redheads named t brennan #tory is more effective than any of the squinterns and manages to piss hodgins off so bad just by existing #coop hangs out in the lab as saroyan tries to kick him out thirty times. he just keeps showing up and she can't prove who's letting him in #(it's tempe.) angela loves tory but tory does not love angela back. saroyan tolerates her. sweets likes her but knows she's hiding somethin #comes to the conclusion that she can read her friends minds and slowly drives himself crazy because obviously that can't be true #tory brings hi along whenever she needs someone with people skills and he is MORE than happy to participate in a hodgins experiment #hi gets to be king of the lab for about ten minutes. shelton hits it off with angela immediately and they solve half the case together #booth fucking HATES hi because he's evasive and really good at the manipulation thing. booth can't win verbal sparring and he gets Big Mad #at one point the four of them are in an interrogation room together (MISTAKE) because tory had them meddling a little too close to the sun #and booth is trying so hard to question them which didn't work even when they COULDN'T read each other's minds #tory figures out who did it and hi steals her thunder a la shrek wasnt vandalized he gave birth #temperance tells tory 'i know you've got a secret sweets told me and even though i don't trust psychology i find he's insightful' etc etc #tory's like well i might be but i can't tell you it's not just my secret and you wouldn't believe me anyway #because let's be real tempe WOULDNT believe her #meanwhile saroyan convinced by sweets paranoia managed to get a sample of tory's blood and test it and is like HEY WHAT THE FUCK #gets hodgins and they just stare at the results together and delve into conspiracy theories. he's like i KNEW there were werewolves #they debate telling tempe but know it wouldnt end well for the kids and decide to get rid of the evidence. but hodgins is SO smug #also angela spends the whole episode trying to convince everyone hi and shelton are dating and no one believes her #they finally see them kiss or something and they're all somehow floored and angela's just like yeah? duh?#if anyone read this i'm sorry and why

didn't want to put this rant in the tags of that last post but honestly i feel like a lot of people hate toshiro disproportionately compared to what he actually did in-story. and if we're being real it's most likely because of racism

#xyx.txt #because so much of his misunderstanding of laios comes from a cultural angle #and because his mannerisms are strongly coded as japanese especially relative to the other characters in the story #i think a lot of people's implicit biases have them reading this as an inherent and unchangeable aspect of his being #rather than being just one aspect of him that originates from a particular context and is fully changeable #like any other trait on anyone else.#part of this is just because of the fact that the story is told from laios and his party's perspective #but i think a lot of people's perspectives on him are probably informed by racism #not all east asians are quiet and polite. i know this myself as a kind of loud and awkward and easily excited east asian person myself #but generally cultural mannerisms from east asia tend to be more subdued overall than western ones #so it's. not uncommon. for western people to read east asians as being rude or cold or aloof just for behaving like this #the 'oriental inscrutability' moment...#like he doesn't need to 'get rid of the stick up his ass'. he just needs to not put such heavy expectations on other people #but yeah i think a lot of people are way more unsympathetic to him than they would have been if he were not so distinctly asian-coded #which is ironic! a lot of people being really mad at him for ableism specifically in the social expectations he holds of others #while applying the same kind of judgment to him but through the perspective of race instead of neurodivergence. suspicious.#blah blah blah it's because he's 'neurotypical' or whatever #predicting how some of you people would behave toward neurodivergent asian people and the outlook isn't good #also if we're on the subject of microaggressions.#laios repeatedly and insistently calling him 'shuro' to the point that everyone else calls him that too #that's not 'funny autism bad with names' moment that's a racist microaggression #someone misnaming me because of my distinctly ethnic/foreign-sounding name doesn't automatically become funny and relatable #just because you're neurodivergent lol #can we maybe have more empathy toward characters and people of color in fandom #instead of always using them as punching bag side character trope #thanks.
