I really like that Love is Better the Second Time Around uses the same clothing because the same outfits keep popping up in the same combos like how we got these outfits together again.

When we got them in the first episode during their first argument about Takashi coming across as being disingenuous about his feelings since he is so casual about them.

But, of course, I also like the colors.

Because even though it's not the pink room of love,

Hiro is wearing the same outfit and the color red is prominent as he declines Takashi's offer to move in together which is similar to his girlfriend's rejection of his proposal.

So it's just interesting that even though they keep attempting to balance out their colors,

They are stuck between the light and the dark.

Or more like their past and their future.

Give me balance!

“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone. 

“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion. 

Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files. 

“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued. 

“Is he coming to the Manor or…” 

Damian scoffed again, a tiny bit of a flush against his face. “No, Grandmother will most likely be staying with Akhi-”

Decided to challenge myself art-wise a little bit and make an illustration for each of the Davechella playlists while listening to them for the first time! These are mostly based on their individual vibe and I try to finish the drawing by the time the playlist ends, so if they look kinda choppy that’s the reason why. So far it's been a ton of fun and I love discovering new songs and rediscovering the characters through them!! Love is Better the Second Time Around's third episode kept the colors!

Hiro is still the light to Takashi's dark.

And Hiro is very aware of his lightness and where it comes from.

He knows that as much as he is attracted to Takisha, he is still very hurt from what happened in their past, and he no longer has that youthful naïveté to help him push through.

Even though his lightness gives him a youthful glow like another young man, Hiro IS older and more guarded.

And it starts to show when he gets stuck with Takashi at the hot springs.

His lightness becomes a little less light.

And he becomes darker because he is trying to keep his guard up.

And keep his feelings hidden.

But the pesky light of knowledge starts to show up again.

Even when he tries to run away from it.

Hiro wants Takashi.

But the very next day, Hiro's guard is all the way up. This isn't a normal color exchange to signify love, but a color exchange to show positions - Hiro reinforces that he wants to keep everything hidden as he establishes a boundary, while Takashi is fully back in his youthful happiness nibbling on his pink macaroon. Hiro is burdened. Takashi is hopeful.

But after Hiro's quick rejection, next week they'll be back to their normal dynamic.

Hopefully, they find a balance . . . between their youth and adulthood, the knowledge they have and the things they'd rather keep hidden, and the light and the dark.

Give me balance!

to me, the most fascinating (and utterly unintentional) feature of TAZ Balance's narrative structure is the way that on the first listen, Tres Horny Boys are the audience surrogates because they, much like us, have no idea what the fuck is going on, but on all subsequent relistens, then Lucretia, and sometimes Barry, and arguably especially Lup in the umbrella become the new audience stand-ins, because just like us, they are, in fact, painfully aware of what the fuck is going on :)

Pictured: Loop being extremely normal as they lay in their shallow (homemade) grave as they meditate on existence and also if they have annoyed the Researcher enough THIS time for her to murder them and bury them alive.

(Spoilers - they did not annoy her even CLOSE to that much.)

And there is the required reverse image of Odile arriving - she's had a LONG day (i.e. previous loop), and due to this it will take ten minutes before she even acknowledges the shallow grave Loop is laying in, as she was distracted complaining about what Siffrin just did to annoy her.

I'd say there's context for all of that, because like...there IS context? Here's the link to the series of fics that HAS that context even! But also...even with context...can't say that it's going to make any of this less weird.

Mostly Odile is looping because due to Loop's wish the universe got rewritten to make Siffrin's repression and emotional issues (the ones bad enough to get him stuck in a time loop in the game) 'someone else's' problem...or at least that's Loop's best theory atm!

Regardless, context or not, I'm quite happy with how the pics came out, and figured I might as well post them here too.
