DRAMA - Do you see it too? In the corner. Tell me, old chap, is it hideous or not? It rides quite the line between the two.

You look in the corner of the chest. There, amongst the old disguises and chipped masks is something that looks like a garment that has been rolled up around itself and placed so far back so that it would be a disguise left for the last man to pick.

1. Pick it up.

2. Keep looking.

You pick it up and pull it out of the chest. As you do, it unravels. Soft brownish fabric spills to the floor. This garment has certainly seen better, warmer days, but there is a beauty in its resilience. The beading in its bodice needs repair, but it still glimmers in the lamplight.

1. It’s a dress.

RESPLENDENT DRESS - So I am.

1. Wait- was that one of my own thoughts or not?

RESPLENDENT DRESS - Does it matter? I was only stating the obvious. We’re kindred spirits, you and I.

1. You’re a dress. How can we be kindred spirits?

2. [Volition: Challenging 12] Put the Resplendent Dress back in the chest.

You hold the dress up by its shoulders and line the seams up with your torso. Though it was not tailored to your body, there is a kinship between the two of you.

RESPLENDENT DRESS - That’s the beauty of it, ma femme. Neither of us were made for what we are. That’s almost like being made for each other, isn’t it?
