Oh!! I have a request! How about some magic shit happens and the boys are turned into kids! And reader has to take care of them! It can be one at the time or all of them at once, whatever you prefer. And maybe they remember what happened when they're back to normal? I love your writing, take your time to write and stay hydrated!!
Oh sure! How cute!!
Masterlist
Part one will include Wild, Sky and Legend
Content under the cut!
Wild
The giggles were contagious. You found yourself on the verge of laughing hysterically next to the small child.
Somehow Wild got hit from a wizzrobe to be no older than five years old and yet he's as if he hasn't changed. Stranger yet, you've gathered that he either must have been displaced in time or he was the only one to time travel. His scars are gone as well so it's not as if he was shrunk.
"Ooh! An apple!" He sprints towards the tree, running up the truck and latching onto the first branch he can reach. He then swings his body up and over it before he shimmies over to pluck the apple for the branch above.
"He's just as bad." Four laughs to himself.
"And yet he claims that he was the perfect soldier." Twilight frowns, standing under the branch to catch the kid in case he fell.
"I'm ok!" He calls down to the rancher. "You don't have to catch me! Papa lets me do this all the time."
You snort with your hands on your hips. "He must have had a lot of training."
"Or pressure." Warrior mutters.
That dampens your mood a bit. He makes a point.
You were having soo much fun just messing with the kid that you didn't stop to think about what his attitude actually meant. Was his carefree spirit beaten out of him? You hope not literally.
You hear him hit the ground and he runs straight to you, b-lining around Twilight to avoid him. You laugh at the Rancher. You didn't think he would take it to heart but he looks as if the kid just offended his entire legacy.
"Here!" Wild cheers, holding out a bright red apple in your direction. "You didn't eat breakfast. So you should eat too."
You flush and take the apple. "Thank you."
"You didn't eat?" Sky raises an eyebrow.
The little boy nods. "I saw them. They pretended they weren't hungry so they didn't have to eat the food."
You flinch. It was Hyrule's turn to cook. You had hoped to have gone unnoticed. Tou stand mistaken.
"Well... thank you, Link." You bite your lip, holding the apple up higher. "I was feeling a bit peckish."
He giggles and takes a bite out the apple he got for himself. "Aryll likes apples too. So I get to climb our tree to get them for her."
The group all relatively freeze. Wind especially.
"Aryll?" You try to keep the conversation going so that he doesn't catch on. "Do you take care of her?"
He nods, his face full of pride. "She's my baby sister! I have to take care of her, just like Papa says!"
"I bet you do a good job at that." You swallow your spit.
Does this mean he's unlocked memories too? You don't really want to think about it. Looking at the poor boy is starting to make you feel emotional. He doesn't deserve what he gets.
You take a bite of the apple.
It's bitter.
Sky
You stared and stared and stared.
Boyish laughs fill the camp as the others are also just at an lost to do. The only ones with any chance of corralling this kid are Wind and Twilight.
The group was down a member but also added the new challenge of dealing with said down member.
"Hello." The little boy stops running right in front of you, holding out a single pale purple flower. "This is for you."
You blink and take it gently. He can't be much older than six or seven years old. Much younger than any other in the group. Younger than the average age they all took up the mantle of hero. Young enough to have to idea who he is or what he will become.
"Thank you, Link." You say just as softly, placing the flower behind your ear. A few others squirm at the mention of their name. But you have no other choice to use it. The young boy wouldn't respond to Sky and he would have no inclination to abide by the unspoken rules they've set up.
He smiles back and hugs his arm close to his body. He's a shy boy but kind and just as gentle as he grows to be. He's innocent and curious but doesn't ask questions. He's incredibly trusting.
Your jaw flexes at the thought, but you won't let it change your facial expression. Sky seems to be waiting for something. You tilt your head down, meeting his eyes. "What is it, Link?"
He bites his lip. "....Would you....like to play with me? ...Please?"
You would never tell Sky that he has the most adorable puppy eyes in the history of existence. You never stood a chance. "Sure thing, Buddy. What do you want to play?"
He beams. "Hide and seek!"
"Maybe not." Twilight winces. You wince as well, especially when you see how Sky suddenly seems chest fallen. You're in the middle of no where and he has no way of coming back to you if he gets lost. Twilight explains it as such. "There's just not a lot places to hide, buck-o. So if you get lost, we'd have no idea how to find you again."
Sky pouts and looks upset enough to cry.
"We can draw." You blurt, wanting to save the moment.
"Really?" Sky perks up and looks around. "...But there's no paper."
You turn around and pick up a stick, snapping it in half and giving him the bigger half. "We'll draw in the dirt!"
Sky looks at the stick and pokes the ground with it. "...I used to do this with Zelda when we were bored. I don't think they have sticks at the Academy though."
"Yeah?" You plop yourself onto the ground, patting the spot next to you. "Tell me about it."
He smiles and sits down next to you, poking and dragging he stick through the dirt. "My loftwing is big and pretty but I'm too little to ride him yet. That's what Gaepora says."
You shoo away prying eyes and nosy ears.
Wind grabs his own sticks and you. "What's a lofting?"
Sky freezes. He's looks so lost. "You don't know what a loftwing is? Don't you have them on your island?"
Wind shakes his head.
Sky frowns and looks around. "I thought Skyloft was the biggest island and everyone knows what loftwings are."
He stands, looking towards the horizon. "But this is also a pretty big island."
You flinch. You didn't even consider that he wouldn't remember that he's on the surface.
Who's going to tell him?
Legend
"Where's my uncle?" The little boy asks. Once the smoke had cleared and the monsters were defeated, you had to take a look at the damage. This little boy stood where Legend once did. It seems that his clothes were changed with him, at least. Otherwise you don't know what you all would have been able to keep him from swimming in fabric.
You bite your lip and share looks with the rest of the group. The little boy looked scared and lost. He kept wringing his little hat between his hand as he looked for someone to answer him.
You gulped and got on your knees to meet his eyes. "What does he look like? Maybe we can try and find him together?"
You know where his uncle is. It was something had told you under the comfort of night, something he didn't really tell any of the others. But you can't look into his little teary eyes and tell him the truth and you certainly can't do it in front of everyone else.
"He's tall and strong." The boy looks more comforted now he gathered that you were going to help him. "He lost his hair but it grows on his chin instead."
"Bald with a beard. Can you tell me his name?" You smile and say your name. "What's your name?"
"I call him Uncle." He tilts his head. That's a no. "He calls me Link."
"Well Link, it's very nice to meet you." You're giving yourself extra brownie points for holding yourself together. "How old are you, Link?"
He frowns and lifts up once of his hand, sticking up four little fingers.
"Oh wow! You're already four years old." You try to keep things light. "Your uncle must trust you a lot since you're so big."
He smiles and giggles, covering his mouth with a small fist. "I get to help Uncle take care of the house. Sometimes he lets me help with dinner."
You smile back, trying to not let the image pull at your heart strings. Less you start crying on the spot. "I guess he'll need his little helper then. Come on, we'll all help you look for your uncle, ok?"
"Ok."
You stand up and stick your hand out. "Don't get lost now. Come on. We'll start looking."
Little Legend takes your hand and you look to others, finally, for assistance. You receive none. Only a few poorly hidden thumbs up from the others members.
"Traveler." You whine. "Tell me we can fix this."
He stares before nodding slightly. "Let me think of something."
You can only nod. This might take a while to fix.
Legend tugs on your hand, bringing your attention back to him. "Is uncle really faraway?"
"Uhh..." Your brain stalls before you figure the answer can't be so bad. "More like, we're really far away...From everyone. But we'll get back to find some people and then maybe we can find your uncle."
"You hear that Traveler?" Four says. "You have until we reach the next town."
You ignore the groaning. Legend looks so happy. "Good! He'll be worried about me!"
You tear up. "Let's fix this then, buddy."

Untilted Katamari Reflections
Preamble:
Content considerations for the following include:
Parental abuse
Bigotry
Worldly anxiety
You're welcome back another day if that's too much right now.
I.
It’s fall of 2015.
You and your virgin college friends drink shitty cocktails called the “Slutty Will Rodgers.” They’re just Pepsi rawdogged with indeterminate amounts of grenadine and Captain Morgan. When you bought the mixers a Wal-Mart stocker yodeled “OOOOoOoooOH, maKIN sOMe DRINKS?!?!” and you knew it was time to leave.
We Love Katamari is on the Telly. It’s a sweet, trippy game you first bought to cope with high school. On Dark Fridays at 1am, when your inbox was barren and your balls were full, you’d drive to the empty gym downtown and sprint six miles. Then you’d come home and replay the firefly level until you fell asleep with your pug.
Your college friends are bad at the game, so they pass the controller. You’re playing the underwater stage. A spaceman falls in the pond of people gunk and stacked crabs. It’s going really well if you’re honest. You point to the screen and say “this’ll be Florida if Trump wins.” See Fig. 1.
Figure 1: Rick Desantis has big plans for Disney.
Your friends don’t reply because they soon won’t be virgins and their tongues battle each other’s. It’s a different game they play, one with fuzzier rules, but greater industry respect. You wish the campus gym was open 24/7.
. . .
Your skills as the prince are not inherent. You first meet him in 2005, when your dyspraxic hands can barely tie a shoe. Your parents catch you lose shit for the Toonami review of Me and My Katamari. They buy it for Christmas, hoping to steady your nerves while your father’s in therapy.
Dr. Flam is a Neo-Freudian hitched to your mom’s guy, Dr. Flim. She’s deep in your dad’s dream journal and makes him watch movies like Cool Hand Luke to really reign in his ego. He gets the DVDs from the Netflix site, then through the mail. As a family you watch your dad’s therapy films and reruns of Inyuasha.
In the waiting room you barely navigate the sticky ball through Namco Bandai’s Satoshi Kon parade. See Fig. 2. You’ve only seen adults express anger verbally, so when you mess up you grunt a lot and let out those Leopold Butters Stotch swears like “crap,” “shoot,” and “gosh darn.” You’re not particularly self-aware, so you probably just say “god fucking damn it” a few times and don’t remember. Years later you realize there was probably a secretary behind the glass watching you do all this.
Figure 2: Bwahbwahwabhbawahbwaaaaah.
Sometimes there’s a girl in the room with you, just around your age. She’s stuck while Dr. Flim teaches her mom about what dream snakes mean for her fear of male puberty. That's what he did for your mom, anyway.
You think the waiting-room stranger is cute, but you won’t admit you like girls yet, especially not to yourself. To cope with the cognitive dissonance, you do your weird shit louder while refusing to make eye contact with her. If you get real stressed you crank up the main menu track and yell “ahhhhh that’s so relaxing” while the “nah nah nah nahs” play through your headphones.
At one point the girl stands against a wall and stares at you with her arms crossed. You bet she thinks you’re cool, but she’s probably just annoyed and hopes you’ll notice, or maybe just ask if she’s OK. It’s probably good you don’t talk with her. You might ask something stupid, like if she's seen the roach corpse in the stairwell. It’s been there for a year straight, isn’t that crazy?
For better and worse, you power through your little game alone. Every time you lose the King of All Cosmos beats, shoots, and belittles you. See Fig. 3. It reminds you of when your own dad shattered your Harry Potter wand over the kitchen counter because you dropped a mini pizza.
Figure 3: The King of All Cosmos offers little constructive advice, all things considered.
You fail quite frequently. Eventually you drop the game because it’s getting stressful and you have the power to relieve yourself of the situation—not the Freudian lobby, just your fake dad.
II.
It’s 2012. PlayStation Network uploads The Prince’s primeval outing: Katamari Damacy. Within, Padre Cosmotic flaps his gums over too much hooch then slams his dump truck ass through the better part of our solar system. He dislodges every recognized constellation and even the moon itself.
Cosmos sends Prince to Earth—the last brick left in the shitstorm—to make slop of our planet and bodies. With the slop space itself will be made anew. The Good Son does as he's told, and every living entity experiences euphoric ego death within the bulbous heaven of the Katamari.
As a Real Gamer Teen you lose a lot less in this one. You really go in and fix Fake Dad’s mistakes, no problem at all. This is why a year ago you hailed “gaming journalism” as your calling. You write clean and play tight; should keep the lights on. It’s the most concrete idea you’ve had since 7th grade when you outlined a YA novel called Tooth Pocket. Even you didn’t think Scholastic would buy that one, though. It was just too hot for the book fair.
One day you’re cranking through FFVI and your real dad swings by, mad you're young. He grills your ass and says “I bet you can’t even tell me the biggest thing happening right now.” It’s some real “What’s a gallon of milk cost?” shit, he could mean anything.
Surprisingly, you can’t think of a good answer. You and your friends are actually pretty informed because John Stewart is still at the desk and y’all chime in every day. See Fig. 4. You also spend hours each week tearing through MSN slideshows in your Graphic Design class because the Photoshop takes five minutes. You’ve seen a staggering amount of the Syrian civil war.
Figure 4: Sometimes in Snapchat you draw glasses on your cat to make him look like Mitch McConnel. You wouldn't do that without this guy.
Still, you’re a little stumped. It’s the middle of a phenomenon native to moralist presidencies known as "a slow news week.” You actually ran out of war shit the other day and clicked through some slides about Pakistani wrestlers. The seniors who offered you Jack Daniels in the Whataburger lot saw it and laughed. They thought you were peeping dong in class. You really weren’t, but they didn’t believe you. They graduate certain you were bricked up in the Dell Lab over big guys in spandex.
“I don’t know,” you tell your dad.
He throws his hands behind his head, hard, like an orangutan chucking logs at a poacher.
“It’s the fucking carbon tax,” he yells. This comes as a surprise, you think, because that shit is last month’s news. It really didn’t go anywhere.
“Do you not pay attention because you don’t give a shit, or are you just a nihilist and think you can’t do anything?” You can tell in his eyes he thinks there’s a real answer. “Seriously, which is it?
You don’t remember what you said. You probably just stammered until he walked off.
A month later he picks you up from marching band. Your phone is dead, so he had to wait twenty minutes longer than anticipated while you found his car. He punches the rearview mirror until the windshield cracks then screams of how your birth kept him from New England.
III.
It’s 2016. A rockin’ MILF in the Psych department gets you really into Hamilton. See Fig. 5. Every day you wake up on the grind and blast “You Aaron Burr, sir?” through your shitty 7-11 cans. While cramming foreign language Quizlets and McGraw Hill Online you do this thing called “Hafilton.” It’s where rock up to “Nonstop” and quit listening just before Hamilton decides what he will stop is being a good husband.
Figure 5: Like Kojima, you know "MILF" is a mindset, not a factual inquiry.
It’s 2018. Your grades are notably better and you’ve snuck into the honors program. Like Hamilton himself, you really flourished at 19 and thought about running for office. You immediately abandoned this idea after remembering your allergy to recordings of your image or voice.
You cohabit with the Psych MILF, and she offers some advice: she’s really had her boots on the ground with this whole “clinical psych thing” and honestly, respectfully, she loves you, but dear God it might not be your scene. It’s taken a real toll on her and the friends, and she can’t imagine you going through that shit.
At 1am in your living room you boot up DOOM (2016) and listen through some Hamilton. Angelica is thirsty on main when you remember that you, yourself, could be a lawyer. You don’t have to run for Congress to fight the establishment. There’s just the common law, and it’s right there. You can just get your grubby little hands in that shit and work your magic.
. . .
It’s the last semester of undergrad. Your Western Thought professor says Hamilton wasn’t really a huge deal and really James Madison shat out the big parts of our faction-proof empire. Yes, there was, in fact, a civil war, but the caplock rifle worked it out. After the Federalist papers he has you read the Bill of Rights but no Supreme Court cases. There’s a lot of talk on negative liberties.
Just before finals, the learned doctor says your generation only has two things to worry about: the climate and the poverty. Yeah they’re big, he says, but they’re just two things. You’re crafty kids, smart as the framers, even.
. . .
The state decides law school is your jam and lets you come inside.
There’s the negative liberties but you actually read Supreme Court opinions when the big boys aren’t shaking fists for Valley Forge. They have you listen to Hamilton for context. You feel dirty. An LRW professor puts on the “I’m Just a Bill” video and your sectionmate with Ivy degrees gets really, really mad.
. . .
The Federalist Society has a comfy presence at your law school. Along with Big Oil they sling out free pizza to every Little Scalia with a rumbly tum tum.
On your way to class you hear what the pizza boys feel. They hate Europeans, those social democrats with the rotten armories and clumpy cash. The Euros, they think, give too much wiggle room for the mentally ill, and by that they mean they mean gay people and probably just women overall.
There are more than two things to fix, you think.
. . .
The pandemic hits. You and some pals start a Google Doc to stay afloat. It barely works. In the Zoom review for the property final your professor catches multiple people crying. "You don't have to be here," he tells them, “there are other jobs.”
. . .
A year passes. You’re in a niche public interest class you do all right with. The professor looks you and thirty-five others dead in the eye and says how sorry he is that law school is traumatic. You shed a single tear in your little window. You're pretty in the shit and haven’t worn pants to class in months.
Then public interest prof takes a big, big drag from his long, fat spliff. He spins his desk chair and baseball cap at the same time, never letting go of the joint.
“Hey,” he says. “It’s not your fault, really, but the world is fucked. It’s time to fix what your parents did.”
The next week he gives a practice exam where the best solution is to sell an old lady’s house to Nestlé.
IV.
It’s 2022. After throwing your whole gooch at it, you fail the bar exam.
You fall back hard into exercise. When you’re not slamming Barbri you’re at the gym binging curls and cranking the Chainsaw Man soundtrack. One night on the way to squats you finally hear “Black Parade.” Just like you, Mr. Gerry Wayland is stuck between global disrepair and the desire to write Funny Little Books.
You just started an FLB yourself, actually. It’s spin on a Story Break episode you love. In your version there’s a fucked up civil war horse that moves like a spider and is covered in bugs. Rich people kill the planet then the horse gets lost in space. It’s compelling, you promise. There’s body horror and pirates dressed like Gorton’s Fisherman. See Fig. 6 It’s about the horrors of the contemporary world state. It’ll be fun.
Figure 6: An untapped horror icon. Imagine blood contrasting that yellow.
Big problem, though: you remember rich people love hiking. There’s no grass on Mars, not that good shit anyway. Would they really fuck all of it?
You edit. In the last few years, the real breathless ones, the oligarchs cash their tab. A cartel, they think, could really muscle those stragglers, the tragically common. There’s one city left with both breathable air and refugees. They level it. The few survivors are spread amongst the stars, so their loves and languages may die.
. . .
It’s the middle of Bar Prep Round 2. You and the patient MILF see Hadestown in the Big City.
There’s a juke joint on stage flanked by devil trombones. A sad little guy slinks in from the janitor’s closet. His name is Orpheus and, just like you, he’s a sad, short writer who likes a lady so much it comes out weird. He has a vision, he says, for a little ditty. It’s compelling, he promises, and shit’s gonna change. His love is functional and realized, worth the investment of a hardened woman displaced by capital’s torture. She believes him.
You cry because you know where this goes.
It’s just a single tear.
Don’t worry.
Nobody sees.
. . .
There’s this game you like, by some corporate anarchists who hate themselves. They’re Scandinavian, from the spot in Tallin where you stopped for a cruise. Every gift shop there had swastikas and gas masks leftover from the bloody years.
In the game is a liberal yacht MILF. She thinks you’re stupid but someone’s helping with your gun, so you’ve got that on her. And yet, she pins you, re your whole writing thing. See Fig. 7.
Figure 7: She sucked, but it still hurt when she left.
Your favorite Supreme Court podcast says the ocean’s last hope is other countries. But those countries’ people cry to the Disco game, and their ministers also bought The End of History. You meet them on the subreddit. You're all geeked out, waiting for the tide.
. . .
It’s the era of desert cradles. God thinks you’re disgusting, so he sends his better kids with a memo: the flood was too much work on his end, it’s time for something different.
“Just keep walking,” he says.
Your skin bares his figure. So do the corpses. You little birds among billions, gassed out and screaming, move to clean.
V.
It’s 2023.
We Love Katamari is up on the PlayStation store. You sit with the cats and mow down some crabs. You don’t need it so much these days, but it’s nice.
There’s a Bar card in your wallet, just below your gym tag. There are two interviews in your Google Calendar. Good stuff might happen, hopefully soon. You crawl into bed and wrap an arm around your wife’s rib cage.
Everything matters and nothing is safe.
You are loved enough to sleep.

Pale Pastels: A Crypt to Creep In
Astarion x Original Fem!Tav
->Hijinks ensue, mentions of traps, violence against skeletons, Fleur stabs herself, she's doing her best guys, Astarion's only been here a few minutes and he's fed up, oh hey there's plot guys! (At least in spirit), we're starting the slow burn here, kinda.
Border by: @adornedwithlight
AN: Calliope herself spoke through me, this had around 200 words when I started and this baby is at around 1,600. Hope y'all enjoy, starting to set up pieces of Fleur's stat block and a bit of her and Astarion's dynamic. Oh and I've never really wrote combat before, hope it wasn't too much of a pain to read. Bon appetite.
This temple was a great idea, decent loot, especially looting the bandits camp after Fleur sprinted up to them, frantically going on and on about mindflayers eating people. They didn’t stick around long after that, and it took the trio left hiding in the bushes a lot to not burst out into laughter at her performance of a woman who witnessed untold horrors.
Overall a rather good experience.
The group had found a book that had some kind of magical seal on it. Gale was fascinated with it, trying to break the spell desperately. Astarion only rolled his eyes.
We could be here a while, he thought. He slipped out of the room, hoping to find some kind of loot, or at least something to pick at while he was bored.
What he did find was a room full of tombs, with more traps than he’d seen in a long time.
Must be something very worthwhile here, better get to work. The elf pulled out his tools and carefully stepped over to the closest sarcophagus and began picking at the lock. Just as he opened it he turned his head to check over the room…
Just in time to see Fleur about to step on a pressure plate.
“DON’T.”
She froze, looking at him with wide eyes, foot suspended in the air.
“Can’t you see there’s traps everywhere?” He hissed.
To her credit, she did look like she was carefully observing when she double checked the room, but when she turned back to him, her face held a sheepish smile.
“No,” she said apologetically.
Astarion sighed. “Why are you even in here?”
“Same as you I recon. Watching Gale try to open a book that doesn’t want to be opened is extremely boring. Figured you’d at least be entertaining to stand next to.”
Astarion really didn’t want the company. But he knew he needed to start playing his cards carefully, lest he wanted to end up in dire straits. For now, playing nice with the candied bard would probably be a benefit.
“Fine, but take a step back and let me guide you over. There’s not many floor traps, but I can bet that they’re all synced up to one another.”
She dutifully obeyed, and he made his way over carefully.
“Ok, now watch my feet.” He over dramatized his steps, going slowly, and one by one, but in the interest of not learning what these traps do, he’d greatly look as foolish as he’d need to. Fleur diligently followed his movements, eyes analyzing every slight angle, until he was certain she was far enough from the main plates to do much harm.
“Now, sit tight and don’t do something stupid, darling,” he drawled in his usual flirty tone.
Fleur just gave a bright smile, “I’ll do my best.”
Astarion turned back to the sarcophagus, poking his head in, finally. A few pieces of gold. Not bad. He moved on to the next one. He heard the light footsteps as he knelt for the next one.
They made their way through the room, coffin by coffin, even found a chest with some basic loot, Astarion dutifully working on the locks, Fleur quietly observing. Honestly, Astarion found it rather nice.
Until Gale and Shadowheart walked in.
“We figured the book out!” Gale exclaimed. Astarion thought he looked like a dog trying to impress it’s master, poor bastard.
“Don’t walk in!” Fleur called out. “This place is trapped up.”
Shadowheart just cocked her head. “Yes, it’s very obvious there are traps here. Thanks for the warning.”
Fleur only looked a little bashful when she replied, “We’re almost done here. Go on and we’ll catch up!”
The two moved on and Astarion quickly picked the last lock. He fished out the last of the loot (a few pieces of gold and a healing potion), and stood.
“Now to get you and I out of this room safely, my dear,” he crooned.
“Do you mind if I do something first? Promise won’t be too bad,” she asked.
“Of course, as long as you don’t stab me,” he gave a careless laugh. She didn’t seem like the type to do something, right?
She stepped up and straightened his collar, fidgeting with it for a second, before giving a nod.
“That should work for now. At least you can pretend like it’s a weirdly placed mole.”
If Astarion’s heart could stop, it would have then.
She knew she knew she knew she-
“We do need to find a higher collar if we don’t want someone stabbing before asking,” she looked up to him with a beaming smile. “Now let’s get going. Don’t want them thinking we’re going to elope. You might have to show the way out though. I still don’t see those traps.”
She didn’t care. Or she was behaving like she didn’t care. Astarion couldn’t follow.
And it quickly left his line of concerns when he noticed Fleur almost step on a trap, again.
“WAIT-”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They met back up and found a more open room, that they began to move through, spreading out slightly. Astarion did his best to follow Fleur’s every move, but not to keep her from setting off traps and getting them all blown to Avernus. But to follow her eyes.
Eyes that couldn’t see a pressure plate that was quite obvious but could catch bite marks on his neck. Eyes that shone a rather beautiful shade of blue. Actually, now that he looked at it, something was off about her eyes. What could be-
“Hey, what do you think this button does?” Fleur asked, turning to Astarion.
“Opening the door next to it, I assume,” he responded.
“Then why the button,” she mused. “Why not just have the door, like everywhere else.” She paused for a moment, then turned back to the other two, “Move closer for a bit. I’m going to push this and I’d rather have heads where I can see them.”
Astarion snickered, “Sounds like you’re talking to children.”
Fleur sent him a weak smile, “I’m more used to that than talking to adults. Brace yourselves.”
She pushed the button, and as he predicted, the door opened.
What he didn’t predict was the skeletons strewn about the room to get up.
“Oh shit,” Fleur whispered.
The battle, if you could even call it that, began. Astarion moved forward, deciding that the bow was the best course of action for now. The skeletons were far, and he highly doubt he’d get too close without something horrible happening. He shot one on the ledge above them dead on, staggering it slightly.
A slew of spells slung their way, a firebolt hitting Shadowheart and a ray of frost, which he managed to only be nicked by. Before much else could progress, Fleur channeled a bit of magic, and without warning…
“Even alive, you must have smelled like something rotten.”
The skeleton above them fell into pieces, a bit of excitement fueling him. They definitely could stomp these things.
Another skeleton ran forwards, getting a good hit on Shadowheart. She hit him back, adding an extra shove with the shield as Gale cast firebolt, sending flames to one of the skeletons further back in the room. The skeleton furthest back began casting before everything went quiet.
Silence, how marvelous. And I’m surrounded by casters.
He ran around the group and the skeleton challenging Shadowheart, aiming at the one holding up the spell, and launched an arrow. The fucker didn’t fall, and the spell stayed strong.
Another lobby of spells came their way from the other two skeletons, hitting Gale and Fleur this time. With the silence up, he wasn’t expecting much. Fleur ran up next to the skeleton in front of them, and raised up a dagger.
And brought it down with the worst form he’d ever seen, not just missing the skeleton by a wide berth, but cutting herself in the process.
Astarion wasn’t even sure he had seen it quite right, until the blood trickled down her arm. If it wasn’t for the silence spell, he’d be yelling so loud, he could probably do damage. How do you fuck up that poorly?
He didn’t miss Shadowheart’s eye roll and she swung again with the mace, this time seeming to do slightly more than the last.
Someone had to, he bitterly thought, as sprinted to move out of the radius of the spell, before casting his own back to the skeleton that was holding up the silence spell. This time the creature fell, and with it the spell. He wasted no time turning around, pulling out his rapier and finishing off the brute.
“Since he’s now dead, let’s try sticking to things that are useful?” he sneered.
If looks could kill, Astarion would be dead again from the glare Fleur sent him, but she said nothing, instead braced herself for the ice spell sent her way. Another spell was slung to him, but he managed to easily dodge it.
Shadowheart sent some kind of holy spell to one of the skeletons, downing it instantly. Gale casted another small flash of fire to the other one, which Astarion finished off with an arrow.
They waited a beat, seeing if anything else would rise from the coffins around them, but once it proved still, they all began put their things away.
Astarion turned over to Fleur. “What’s the point in having a dagger if you don’t know how to use it?”
“Listen, Mr. Snark, not everyone is built for combat,” she huffed. “If anything, I’m just glad it wasn’t worse.”
Astarion had never really noticed the pouch at her hip, and when she opened it, he noticed it was a set of daggers, most of them designed for throwing. They were well polished, and carefully shined. But that wasn’t nearly the detail that caught his eye the most.
What caught his eye was one of the larger daggers was missing.
Obey me - Christmas dates
**did anyone else feel a little cheated we didn’t get real individual date options for the boys in the new event? no. just me? ok.**
Lucifer
“Come along [Y/N]. We don’t want to miss the other exhibits.”
“Coming!” You call after Lucifer before you jog up next to him.
The eldest brother had claimed victory once again, and won the bet to spend the day with you. You couldn’t say you were really surprised, or disappointed, when Lucifer won. But he took his victory graciously, even if his brothers were still sore about it.
“Lord Diavolo sure works fast, doesn’t he? Putting together this White Christmas outdoor light display in the park.” You comment. “He only knew about the ‘White Christmas’ idea a few days ago.”
“Indeed.” Lucifer agreed. Though I suspect a big portion of the work was accomplished by Barbatos.” You both chuckle at that.
The light display in questions was a winding maze of lights, decorations, and displays in one of Devildoms most popular botanical gardens. The beautiful white lights and sparkling icicles was a stark contrast from the dark and dangerously elegant greenery. It was truly magnificent.
“Still, it really all is amazing. Thank you for bringing me here. It’s something I’ll never forget.”
“I’m glad you like it.” Lucifer replied with a soft smile, before he took your hand in his. The warmth seeping from your gloves into your skin. “And I’m glad I got to share it with you. Any moment being with you is something I’ll never forget.” He leaned in to give you a kiss. Brisky, as you were in public. “Your cheeks feel a little cold. Let’s complete the tour and then head home. I’ll have some warm mulled demonus waiting for us when we get there.”
“Hooray!”
Mammon
You’re practically panting to keep up with Mammon as he all but sprinted off to the next venue.
For once, he’d won one of the bets he’d pressured the others into and seemed to be making the most of it with the time he had remaining.
Since the morning the two of you had been go, go, go. From getting iced hot chocolates at a trendy new coffee spot in downtown. To window shopping (and actual shopping) in the fashion district. To now, after a quick wardrobe change into your newest & latest holiday fashion fare, running off to a Christmas pop-up club in the city.
“Mammon, slow down!” You finally cry out. “There’s no need to rush. The place will be there when we get there.”
“No it won’t!” Mammon insisted. Turning around and coming back to you a few paces behind. “It’s a limited time deal that ends at midnight. After that, the pop-up literally disappears and won’t be back ‘til next year.”
“And there’s no chance we can table this until then?” You sarcastically ask.
“No!” The demon barked. “Because it’s different every year, and I only got ya for today!”
“You have me every day Mammon.”
“It’s not the same.” Mammon replied with a sigh. Relaxing out of his panic for a moment and rubbing the back of his head. “I know yer around every day, but it’s not the same. We have classes, and the others are around. It’s never just the two of us. We spend a lot of time together but it’s not….”
“Quality time?”
“Don’t get all sappy on me.”
You giggle at Mammon’s grumbled, then step forward to lean up and give him a peck on the lips. “If you really feel that way, then why don’t you just say something? We can spend quality time together if you ask. You don’t have to come up with these hair brained gambling schemes to try and win me over.” Plus, that he was terrible at. “And you don’t have to try and cram everything all in one day. I’ll be here.”
The demon scratched at his white hair again and scrunched his lips. “Ok…” He agreed. “Can we still go to the party? I really do want to see it and…I kinda wanna see it….with you.”
You grin and give Mammon another peck before you fall in line beside him. “Just so long as we don’t have to run there.”
Levi
The snow was still falling outside at a leisurely pace as you walked down the hall at a similar pace toward Levi’s room. Surprising everyone with his masterful snow work, he’d won the bet to spend the day with you on a date. You were curious to see what he had come up with.
“Levi?” You ask as you knock on the door with your secret knock and let yourself in. Only you were allowed to enter Levi’s room alone with your secret knock.
“[Y/N]!” Levi exclaimed when he saw you, and bolted up from his spot on the floor.
“Hey Levi!” You giggle at his excitement, finding it infectious. “Wow. You must be really excited for your date.”
“I am!” He must be really excited because he didn’t stammer or fluster at all at the word ‘date’. “I can’t wait to show you what I have planned.”
“I can’t wait either. Where are we going?”
“Oh. Nowhere.” You cock your head to the side at his response. Then Levi darted off towards his desk before he came back with a set of goggles. “Put these on!”
“Your VR goggles?” You ask cryptically as Levi when to tap on his keyboard. “You mean we’re not going out?”
“Nope.” He confirmed with an oblivious smile at your response. “There’s a new real world winter wonderland map that just dropped in Fallen Qin. That new MMO game I’ve been playing. I wanted to check it out with you, so I’ve been waiting for like 3 days to key in.”
“So like the car game we did a while ago?” You remember a similar experience, just with a beach. “You do realize there’s a real winter wonderland outside, right?”
“Don’t the outside have new ice resistant Christmas theme armor, and a quest to steal Krampus-mon’s scowling whip?” Levi asked. And after a long pause he added, “didn’t think so,” before turning on his headset.
You sigh and turn on your headset as well. It was his date. And as long as you didn’t get stuck in the game (like so many times before) grinding with Levi was usually fun.
Since it was a seasonal quest map, it only took you a few hours to finish together. Your characters forged across the frozen plains. Battled new winter monsters. And even stopped into a tavern for hot coco before defeating Krampus-mon and getting the scowling whip into your collection.
“That was so much fun!” Levi cheered as you took off your headsets.
“Yeah, it was fun.” You agree. “I wasn’t really sure I’d like a VR date but….it was nice. Different.”
“I’m sorry if it wasn’t what you were expecting.” Levi said. Confidence fading now that he was back in the real world, and picking the straps on his VR set. “I’m not that good at the real world. So I figured if I planned a normie date I’d do a bad job at it. But a VR date, that I can do. I read all the chats to try and find the best spots before we played. To make sure we got to all the fun stuff fast.”
“You read the spoilers for me?” Levi nodded. An unprecedented act of otaku skullduggery on his behalf.
Quickly, you scoot over and give Levi a kiss before he could react. “Thank you Levi. I’m sure that was hard for you. And for waiting to play. I appreciate you doing all this for me and working so hard to make sure I had a good time.”
“Y-Y-Y…You’re welcome!” The demon stammered back. Beet red at your simple kiss.
“Do you want to play again? I’m sure the forums didn’t find everything in the game. How could they if you haven’t played yet.”
Levi grinned at your compliment and snapped his headset back out. You smirk and turn your headset back on as well to play some more.
Satan
“I’m actually surprised.” You mention to Satan as you stood in line, up at the ticket counter, waiting to get entry into the film festival. “I thought this would be more Levi’s thing.”
“There’s no animated films here.”
Satan had won the snow building contest, and the bet to win a date with you for the holiday. His pur-fectly sculpted cat display was so meticulously crafted that it looked like real cats frolicking in the snow. “Still, movies are really more his thing. I know you’re more into books.”
“Don’t pigeonhole me into one genre of entertainment.” Satan replied with a frown.
Now waiting in line for popcorn he continued. “Books will always be superior, in my opinion, but film has it’s place too. Besides, the cinematic techniques used the La Petite Noel for the sidewalk scenes it truly a masterpiece.” You chuckle a little at his enthusiasm.
As one could guess, the film festival was dedicated to all things Christmas in the art nouveau film arena. Typically international films, Satan seemed positively giddy to sit in a theatre for several hours watching grainy shots on a makeshift screen in this run down ‘classic’ of a theatre.
“I just hope they have subtitles.” You comment as you pop a few kernels into your mouth.
“They should.” Satan replied as you moved behind the double doors to find seats. “And if not, I’ll translate for you.”
“You’re going to translate every movie for me?” You ask as you take a seat in your chosen spot.
“Of course, it shouldn’t be that difficult.” He sat down beside you. The seats in desperate need of some oil or grease. “I speak several languages. So translating a simple film shouldn’t be too challenging.”
“Smarty pants.” You quip, before getting a mischievous grin on your face and darting over to give him a quick kiss. “I just hope there are subtitles. I can’t think of some other things I’d like to do with your mouth in this dark theater while the movie plays.”
“[Y/N]--!” Satan’s remark was cut off by some other patrons shushing him violently as the lights dropped and the movie began to play. “You don’t play fair.” He whispered.
“What would be the fun in that?”
Asmo
The decorations in the fashion district were always the nicest.
Maybe it was the reputation for being the most…well…fashionable, but it seemed that every shop really put in effort and their best foot forward to make their displays stand out.
“Ooooo! Look at this one [Y/N]~ !” Asmo cooed as you walked hand-in-hand down the busiest street.
Asmo had won the snow sculpture contest. Who knew you could make a real dress out of snow? But, if anyone would be able to do it it would certainly be Asmo. Winning the date with you he choose to spend the afternoon going window shopping to find the best display in all the shopping quarter.
“It’s nice. But I still think the clock tower one is better.” You comment. Thinking back on the huge wooden clock tower, with little elves dancing, working, and moving about as they counted down Christmas. “I’m more of a traditionalist myself. These trendy displays are lost on me.”
“Hmmm…I can see that.” The demon agreed as he sipped his skinny salted caramel mocha. “Not that it would be lost on you! Never! I mean, that there is something to be said for being more traditional. Especially this time of year.”
You giggle a little. “I never thought you would be one for convention Asmo.”
He giggled back. “Not always. But there is something to be said about it from time to time.”
You continue your walk and come up to a jewelry store that made both your jaws drop. “Wow…not that’s impressive.”
Inside the window as a winter wonderland of dazzling jewels. Diamond snowflakes. Ruby boys. An emerald tree that had to be as tall as Luke in the corner. Even an onyx terrier playing on the carpet with a sapphire blue ball.
“Somebody must have big connects with the orc mines to pull this off.”
“There are orcs here?” You ask curiously, and Asmo just giggled at you.
“Oh [Y/N], you’re so cute. Of course there are orcs here silly. You’ve met yetis, and mermaids, and all kinds of demons, but you’re still surprised by things.” You supposed that was true.
“Hey! I know.” Asmo exclaimed. Quickly changing the subject. “Let’s go in and look around. We could get you a ring and tell the others that we got married. They’ll be so floored and jealous!”
“I…don’t think that’s the best idea.” You tell him.
“Awww….no fun….” He pouted in his typical Asmo way, but you could sense that he was genuinely a little disappointed in you rejecting his idea.
“But if you want to go inside, we can. A ring seems a little much, but we could maybe get matching bracelets to wear.”
That seemed to pick Asmo right up, and he leaned in to give you a quick kiss before pulling you into the store.
Beel
“Are you doing ok? Do you want me to hold your pack for you? I could carry you if you want?”
“No Beel, I’m ok.” You insist as the two of you continued your hike.
Though the snow was still coming down around the Devildom, the snow sculpture contest was over. Beel had won with his massive snowball. Collecting the snow in the garden by pushing a small ball around until had gathered nearly all the snow available. A feat of strength the judging parties had to take recognition of.
After breakfast Beel told you that you’d be leaving for your date, and that you’d be going on a hike into the mountains. You were actually excited to get back into the outdoors for a bit. Your brief trip up the mountain to where the yetis were had rekindled your wilderness spirit. So after packing up you both hit the trail on an adventure.
“Where are we going anyway?” You ask as you follow beside Beel on the journey. “I know you said there was something you wanted to show me at the end, but that’s not really an answer.”
“It’s an answer.” Beel insisted. “It’s something I found on one of my runs. I started taking this trail a few months ago, since I was getting bored around school. It’s just up ahead.”
You don’t ask anymore questions. Since the destination was so close. The two of you walk silently for a few more paces before the trees break into clearing with a small frozen pond in the center. “Wow!”
“Yeah. It’s pretty cool.” Beel agreed with a smile as he looked at the beautiful scene with you.
“Thanks for taking me up here Beel. This is really magical.”
“We didn’t come all the way up here just to look at it.” He pulled his bag to the front and pulled out two pairs of ice skates.
“We’re going ice skating! Wait. Is it safe?”
“It should be.” He said. Gesturing you over to a rock near the pond’s edge and helping you lace up your skates. “I jumped on it a few times and it didn’t break. If it can hold me, I’m sure it can hold the two of us.”
“What if you had fallen in?”
“I would have swam out.” His confident tone indicated that he really thought he was strong enough to fight the ice and swim out, so you just chuckle and finish with your skates.
You both make it onto the ice with limited issue. Beel went out first and told you, “take my hand.” When you did, he pulled you onto the ice and close to his chest. “If you want to hold on to me to stay balanced, I don’t mind.”
You smile up at Beel, then lean up (as carefully as possible) to give him a kiss for being so sweet in bringing you here and planning all this. “I’ll try not pull you down if I fall.”
“Don’t worry,” he said as you both start to skate, “I’ll catch you before you fall.”
Belphie
No one was more surprised than Belphie himself that he won the snow sculpture contest, but he did. You told him after that you weren’t surprised, given that he was so artistic, to which he replied, “well I can usually get things done if I apply myself.” Then immediately went to take a nap from all the hard work.
He texted you the next day to come to his attic room for your date, and you immediately obeyed. Climbing the stairs, you found the room redecorated in Christmas themed blankets and shawls over the astrology ones usually there. “Oh wow, it looks like Santa’s workshop in here.”
“Santa isn’t real.” Belphie stated. Ironic, since he was wearing a Santa hat. “Come here. I want you to sit next to me.”
You come over and snuggle in next to Belphie. “So this is what we’re doing today?”
“No. I mean, not all of it. Look.” He pressed a button and the shutters to all the windows opened. To the point that it looked like the two of you were floating above the mansion and grounds below. “We can watch the snow fall up here and it’s almost like where in a cloud. Much better than being down there in the actual snow. I’m still cold from yesterday.” Belphie shuttered at the thought.
You chuckle at him, and lean over to give him a kiss. “I agree. This is much better.”
The demon smiled and cuddled in to rest his head on your shoulder. The two of you watching the snowflakes dance and cover the world in white from your ivory tower above.
"Purples and blues, here, have another bruise!" A common rhyme Kaiba had heard every day in the orphanage, quickly followed by a swift fist to the face. He knew he was different. He was smart, and ambitious, and a heck of a lot better than any of the others here. That's why they targeted him. That, and his skinny build. His metabolism was too fast to let him put on any weight, especially at the young age he was.
But whatever. He could deal with it. At the end of the day, everyone was brought in for a warm, homemade meal - something he knew was a privilege in this cruel world of orphans - and a bed with never too many and never too few blankets. There was also his little brother, who got along well with the younger children. Kaiba was so proud of that tiny floof of hair. He was going to make many friends in life. He would be kind. He would be good. He would find a family soon. The only reason he hadn't was because of his annoying insistence that Kaiba stay with him. It was endearing but...Mokuba needed a place where he could get proper love. Not the love of an older brother who probably wouldn't even be able to protect him if he tried.
The Next Day
The sun was bright, birds were chirping, and everyone was going on a field trip. Well, a hike. Walk? Whatever they might consider it to be, the children were being guided on a mysterious journey - the orphanage owners' words, not his - through the surrounding forest. Kaiba couldn't say he was excited, but Moki was, and that was enough for him to gather a small smile and some sort of shred of interest.
"You ready big brother?" Moki called him over, bouncing excitedly from foot to foot. "I hope we find unicorns!"
Kaiba chuckled. "I hope so too, Moki." He ruffled the floofy hair - soft and adorable as always.
"Oh! They're going! Come on, come on!" Despite the fact that the group was moving slowly, his little brother still tugged insistently until they were well in the middle of the group. Sudden gazes landed on his shoulders, so Kaiba ushered his brother onward toward the front. No need for him to become clued in to the hatred of the others. "I'll get some dragon scales just for you!"
"Ok, you do that." He grinned, but it dropped as soon as Moki was out of eyesight. The adults were all up the front, leading, so he was stuck with no potential protection. Not that he wanted it anyway. He would never let it be said that Seto Kaiba was a snitch.
"Well, lookie here." One of the largest kids bumped his shoulder roughly. "If it isn't sir royal buttface himself. Have anything new to tell me about the world? Have you discovered that dragons exist yet?" He burst out laughing.
"Yes, in fact." Kaiba's voice was enough to stop that ridiculous noise, leaving the boy with a stupid look on his face. "I've discovered that your breath smells like something a dragon would puke up after seeing your face."
"What did you just say to me?" He stepped in front of Kaiba, stopping him. A few of his cronies crowded in a circle around the two of them, snickering.
"You heard me, pukeface."
"You little...!" His words were accentuated with a punch, then another, and another. Soon, Kaiba was cowering on the ground, a pathetic dog humiliated by a master without love or mercy. "Hah, loser. I bet you die out here like that, huh?" They all laughed once again, then started sprinting to catch up with the group.
For a long while, Kaiba laid there, silent and panting. He probably had a broken rib at best, multiple broken ribs and a concussion at worst. The way his head spun when he opened his eyes led him to believe the latter. Then, suddenly, a soothing touch.
"Are you ok?" Kaiba whipped his head around - a painful choice - to see warm brown eyes and freckled cheeks staring at him in concern. A young boy, about his age. And...a gap where his two front teeth should've been. "Hey. Can you please answer? Father wants me back before the sun falls, and it's already starting to set."
"Yes." He closed his eyes. "I'm fine." The words made pain reverberate through his body.
"No, you're not. I can tell a lie when I hear one. Alright, up you go." And then he was hoisted up into chunky arms, his gangly limbs splayed in awkward ways.
"Hey! Put me down!" He was furious, but also...was this boy kinda cute? No, no. It was the concussion. Right? The concussion? But he looked like...an angel.
"No can do. You're coming with me."
Many Years Later
"And dat, kids, is how I met ya father!" Jou grinned and patted Kaiba's back roughly, causing the man to choke on his food.
"Can you not tell this story while we're eating?" He grumbled. It was the millionth recount, the least Jou could do was tell it to the kids for a bedtime story. It wasn't even a great story! Well...it was practically a fairy tale. So he supposed it was.
"I can tell it whenever I want!" He ruffled Kaiba's hair, looking back to their children. Two of them, two beautiful children they'd had together. A boy and a girl. Jou's crazy hair and freckles, Kaiba's gangly limbs and sharp nose. Adorable.
"Then I suppose you won't mind me telling them the story of how you confessed?"
Jou's face went pale. "Dat's embarrassin'! They don't wanna hear dat!"
"We do, we do!" Little Annabelle giggled and looked to Kaiba expectantly.
"Well, your father was still very young, and very daft..."
F ear - What are their biggest fear in a relationship
Although you and Kohane had been in a relationship for a few months. She had always feared you were losing interest in her. However, she would always keep it to herself not wanting to bother you about her thoughts.
"Kohane! Let's go get apple pies together since we finished practice!"
"O-oh sure An!"
While An was ordering the apple pies for Kohane due to the line being long. Kohane waited for her outside, only to spot you with some other girl hanging out with you. She could see you smiling and laughing.
You never smiled and laugh with her as much as this other person you were with.
"..I hope [name] isn't losing interest in me.." She whispered.
"What what that Kohane?" An replied as she was standing beside Kohane with the apple pies.
"Ah! A-An-chan.. It's nothing really!"
·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩✩•˚·*•̩✩•˚·*•͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩
J oke - How would they feel when you played with their heart?
The moment Kohane found out that your love for her was nothing more than a mere bet absolutely crushed her. Was she not enough to turn that bet into real love? Was she that naive to not be suspicious when you suddenly confessed to her? After all she is only just.. an average girl.
"Could you believe how naive Kohane was? How could someone like you ever like her right?!"
"..Yeah yeah, just give me the 500 yen you owe me for this."
"...[name]?"
You turn around to see a familiar blonde hair girl standing from a distance, whose brown eyes were on the verge of tears. Before you can call her, she ran away.
"Wait Kohan-"
Before you can chase after her, your friend grabbed your arm.
"Don't worry about it too much, it's her fault for being naive and you totally ace'd teaching her a lesson!"
L amentable - Do they regret on not confessing when they saw you end up dating someone else?
Before Kohane got to where she was now. She used to be a really shy, which caused her to keep postponing her confession to you. However, when she got the confidence she needed, it was already too late.
"U-Uhm! Hey [name]..?"
"Oh, Kohane? What's the matter?"
"I just wanted to tell you that-"
"Hey babe? I need you for a moment to help me carry these bags to my classroom. They're snacks for everyone to enjoy!"
"Ah! Sorry Kohane! You could tell me about it later!"
As she watched you sprint off to help your significant other. The pain in her heart wouldn't stop throbbing. That could've been her if she had confessed first. As tears slowly fell down her eyes, feeling lots of regrets of not confessing first..
·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩✩•˚·*•̩✩•˚·*•͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩
P atronize - How do they react after seeing someone patronizing you?
Kohane was walking towards her park to do her usual practice with her team. However she caught you talking with someone else, that someone who kept bullying you.
"I broke your pen again, i'm really sorry"
"N-no.. It's fine.. I can always get a new one."
"Thank you so much for understanding!"
That was the 15th pen that they had broke in a week. Kohane couldn't take it anymore that they were clearly bullying you and that you were just holding in the pain from this. It was clear to her that you were uncomfortable. With this, she mustered her courage to confront them.
"Hey, leave [name] alone..! What did they do that you had to purposely break all of their belongings?!"
·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩✩•˚·*•̩✩•˚·*•͙✩•̩̩͙˚·̩̩̥*•̩̩
Q uarrel - How they feel after a stupid argument with you?
Kohane confronted you about how you never really showed your 'other' side to her. Lately she has seen you with your other 'friend' where you would flirt with them, to the point of doing it in front of Kohane sometimes.
"Hey [name]..? We need to talk.."
"What's up Kohane?"
"It's about your other friends.."
today the void speaks of,
Isabela Headcannons
after the movie i don't think she would hate the color pink, it's liberating to her, a small reminder to herself that she doesn't have to be perfect anymore
she insults you to show her love but after rebuilding casita she would be more open to showing her love through different ways, like gift giving
she would 100% give you a small cactus with a flower of your favorite color
she would also 100% give it to you by leaving the potted cactus on your doorstep while she sprints away
despite the big confident ego she puts up, under all that she's a big softie that just wants to be truly loved and seen for herself
show her a bit of that and you'll make her so happy
she love calling you "mi flor"
if anyone is bothering you she won't hesitate to stand behind you and give them the nastiest look
maybe throw a cactus or two-
when you come over to casita you can bet that Camillo will tease her as soon as you arrive, especially if you guys stay there
you have to stop her from throwing a cactus at him-
Amor, please it's ok-
Yeahhhh Isa listen to your flor- OH SHI-
ISA!
i have no idea where that cactus came from mi flor.
the void has spoken.
so i was planning on making a post a lot sooner but i got covid for the third time and my phone broke- anyways thank you to my friend who unknowingly helped me, have a decent day.
Ok, time to return to what I assume most people came here to see, headcanons :DD. This time it's for Horrordust, because after many Error ships, this one is my next most-liked. Lessgo.
they were the first couple in Nightmare's castle, or, alternatively, the first two who would eventually become a poly with everyone else,
they were unofficial best friends before becoming a couple. Opening up to each other, giving gifts, being physically affectionate more and more as time went on. Why unofficial? Because they never really called each other a friend because of insecurity and trust issues,
you bet Horror carries Dust everywhere, whether that be on his shoulders, on his back, or the former's favourite, luggage style. Dust's not impressed,
Horror big tol boi! Dust the opposite!
they both aren't big talkers, especially Dust, and so their favourite pass-time activity is simply being in the same room, be it watching a movie, cuddling, or doing two completely separate things without actually talking,
if they're not sleeping in the same bed during some nights, Dust sleeps with a scarf Horror gave him as a gift, under his pillow,
Dust's not really interested in cooking himself, but tell him that Horror made something and he will sprint to see it and taste it no matter what,
their favored type of affection is forehead kisses,
yes, Horror is a heater of the group, yes, Dust takes advantage of that,
out of the two Horror is the one who purrs and Dust adores it,
Horror's melt spot is around and inside his head wound, but of course one has to be very careful while touching the area, not to mention he has to 100% trust them with that. It took a while, but Dust managed to gain that trust and now can touch the spot without a warning. Everyone's impressed,
if they had ecto-bodies or whatever you want to call them, Dust would adore Horror's tummy. Silently most of the time, but still love it. It's big, it's warm, comfortable and adorable. While cuddling he would hide under Horror's shirt a lot to feel it directly.
Horrordust my beloved <333
GOING TO AN ESCAPE ROOM WITH ENHYPEN !
PAIRING: boyfriend!enha x gn!reader. GENRE: established relationship, fluff, crack. WARNINGS: profanity (not that much tho), mentions of death (?). WORD COUNT: 100 - 200 each member.
HEESEUNG:
the two of you were so pumped playing an escape room together for the first time that the other people in line had to calm you guys down (which was trully embarrassing to say the least 🤐🤐)
he was looking at the ranking board filled with pictures of players that had succeeded in the shortest amount of time and he just wanted nothing more than to see both your faces on there
but anyways, we all know how competitive heeseung gets 🕴️
oh boy let me tell you, this guy WAS SPEEDRUNNING IT but not the kind you were thinking
the second the timer had started he was literally SPRINTING AROUND THE ROOM LOOKING FOR CLUES YET COMPLETELY MISSING THEM 🏃♂️💨💨💨
while he was busy running around, you were picking up the little details in the room and in no time managed to open a few locks
"y/n look i found– oh 😐😑😐"
HE WAS SULKING PLSSS 😭😭😭
when you noticed him standing from afar staring at you with his arms crossed, you called him to solve this one puzzle you already did
*gasps* "oh no! babe i don't understand how to do this, please help me 😔😔🤥🙏🙏"
he had to bite his lower lip to stop himself from letting out that cocky grin but it got out eventually
"oh it's so easy sweetheart, just put this here and then voila! 😉"
when the two of you escaped you suprisingly got to take a polaroid with him home after ranking 2nd in the records
heeseung was the one who held onto it tho, placing it underneath his clear phonecase for safekeeping <3
JAY:
GOD THIS DUDE
THE ESCAPE ROOM WASN'T EVEN THAT SCARY AND YET EVERYTIME YOU GUYS OPEN A LOCK OR A DOOR HIS FIGHT OR FLIGHT INSTINCTS COME UP 😭😭👊👊
"y/n stay behind me >:(("
"um, babe, you do realize that's just a door right?"
"WE'LL BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY?? THE STAFF COULD'VE PROGRAMMED IT TO GROW LEGS?? 😵🧐🧐"
you knew you shouldn't have played horror games with him a few nights ago cause he looked like he was about to lose his mind 😔
you had to shove his ass aside and move on to the next mission cause the both of you knew that he was stalling 🏌️♀️
jay was being extra clingy the whole time you were playing, he'd either link arms with you or hold hands (he's literally so adorable) 💞💞
BUT THEN YOU THOUGHT OF DOING A PRANK ON HIM
while you were roaming around the room trying to solve a puzzle, you saw this horse mask on a nearby table
and so you made sure jay was distracted and put on the mask
you could've NOT worn the dusty old thing but where was the fun in that?
"jay can you come here for a sec?"
you hid behind the wall beside the door frame waiting for him to come into your sight and attacked him
now, how about we guess what happens next?
a. he faints
b. he runs away
or c. he slaps you in the face and forces you to buy him food for the rest of the night
if you guessed c then YAY! YOU'RE CORRECT 🥳🎉🎉🎊
THIS HOE SLAPS YOU AS HE SHOULD
"$##/@+(+'£%(:?!!)&£**/*%@"
when he finally takes off the mask like those scenes in scooby doo he's never felt so betrayed in his life
"i- I TRUSTED YOU 😭😭😭 YOU BETTER BUY ME FOOD LATER, I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, THE BETRAYAL???? LITERALLY UNPROVOKED?????"
he wouldn't stop side eyeing you until you guys finally pulled up on the mcdonalds drive thru
"hi, can i get two um– bts meals please? 😒😒 and two oreo mc flurries 🙄🙄 and also large fries 😐😐"
sane (1/3)
would be trailing behind you like a little puppy (i love him so much 😭😭😭)
he either has his arm linked with yours or held hands every five minutes
JAKE:
really focused on the puzzles he's doing but the second he hears you call out his name for help he's there beside you with the sweetest smile
but anyways, mans was POPPING OFF the entire time you were playing
he was solving problem after problem in no time (he wanted to impress you is why he activated his inner flash ⚡⚡) but he did let you play tho, the last thing he wanted to do was make you pissed at him for hogging all the games
def buried jake with compliments and forehead kisses right after ❤️__❤️
and so the two of you got out in like an hour and a few which you were very proud of
"you were so cool today babe, good job !!"
"aww thank you angel 😊😊"
sane (2/3)
SUNGHOON:
would be linking pinkies with you the whole time, only letting go whenever the both of you had to solve something that needed two or more people
there was this one game tho where he had to arm wrestle this literal hand lever to open the door to the last room (yea...don’t ask why, the staffs were pretty weird 😬😬)
it made him enjoy the experience a bit more as it was only the two of you playing instead of getting accompanied by strangers
HGAWAHSGDHSGHDA PLSS THIS GUY
“oh this’ll be easy, y/n step aside, i’ll handle this 😏😏😏”
idk if you were supposed to think about how handsome he looked with his serious expression on and his veiny hands coming into frame or be worried for him because the lever was REAL HARD to pull that his veins looked like they were going to pop any second soon, you stepped in and helped him tho cause you were a good s/o <3
from a spectators point of view, the two of you looked like y’all were about shit your pants but the two of you eventually succeeded on beating it, immediately dragging him to the next room which had a sofa in it, laying down to catch your breaths
cliché moment ahead ⚠️⚠️
the two of you shared a few laughs before standing up on the empty space, held hands and started to jump in circles to celebrate your success 💃💃
yupp, y’all were never going back to that hellhole again
very stubborn at first, he wanted nothing to do with the game but then you held him at gunpoint by saying:
SUNOO:
"please just this once or else i'll revoke your mint choco ice cream rights 🔫🔫🔫"
"BUT IT'S SCARY IN THERE BABE :((("
"it won't be that scary sunshine, besides, i'll be ready to 🤜💥 yk?? trust me babe i would never let anyone hurt you <33"
kinda pissed since you blackmailed him into the place and also bc he wanted to play bumper cars and dance mania but he yea he caved in pretty quick 😋😋
(y/n let him play his games in peace tf >:(((( )
once you guys got in tho he realized how normal it was and that it was not terrifying at all
THE EPITOME OF CLINGY OMFG
he wouldn't stop back hugging you and you couldn't bring yourself to push him away to play the games so you just let him walk behind you with his arms on your shoulders 😩😩
(y'all were walking kinda funny but don't tell sunoo that 🤫🤫🤫)
yea the two of you ended up escaping with a whopping 2 hours and a few minutes
but it was the effort that counts so A+++++ for the both if you 😜👍👍👍
sane (3/3)
JUNGWON:
was the one who suggested going, he even searched on naver about really good escape room places to visit and was overall really looking forward it
he liked going to places and having fun with you so it wasn't a shock how his eyes were literally crescents and his dimples were so evident
yea he literally rushed the both of you to the place that you were the first in line 😵
while waiting for the staff to finish setting up he was playing with your connected hands like 🖐️✊🖐️✊ (so precious 💞💞)
"y/n why are you taking so long 😭😭 what if they close and we end up not solving a single lock, hurry up por favorrr 😩🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏"
when they finally lead you to the room he was kind of surprised that they had separated the two of you into different spaces (like the one with txt where they had the answers to the other member's puzzles yk???)
he was locked inside a telephone stand while you were handcuffed in the main room
dw the two of you reunited after a few minutes cause jungwon was rushing his lock to get to you 🤭
you both were progressing at an average pace and it made you guys a lot more closer (not that you guys weren't before but you get what i mean)
after you guys escaped the two of you went to eat curry and talked about the whole experience 😋✌️✌️✌️
this boy literally dragged you in the escape room with him
NIKI:
HE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE YOU TIME TO REFUSE HE JUST 😐👉🚪
"ok masterchefs, in order to test your abilities we must go through series of puzzles and make it out alive, understood?"
he tried ignoring how confused you were and went on to try and get you guys to escape
HE'S LAUGHING AT YOU FOR WHATEVER REASON AND OBV YOU LAUGH ASWELL CAUSE WHO WOULDN'T??? his laugh is so contagious pls 🤖🤖 he was so close to d wording cause he couldn't breathe from laughing too much
yea.. you guys spent so much time laughing at each other for being so dumb at this that you ended up playing 'till closing time
spoiler alert: he fails on doing anything cause the second you made eye contact with him this child collapses 😍🤩
GIRL SO EMBARRASSING 🤡🤡
THE STAFF KICKED THE BOTH OF YOU OUT AND NOW YOU GUYS WERE BANNED FROM THE PLACE ☠️☠️
"haunted house next weekend???"
"BET"
NOTE – god they were WAY funnier in my head but yeah.... i love them so much AND OMFG HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN HEESEUNG’S SELCAS LAST NIGHT???!?@??#?@?!?@ HE’S NOT REAL WTF ⁉️❓❓⁉️
also, idk why BUT EVERY TIME I SAVE A DRAFT the paragraphs get scrambled?? £!?) 6=6) 🤣😂💔💔🤣🤣😂💔 it's so annoying but anyways, ilysm pls stay safe and have a great day <33
“This is Triton’s schedule!?” You can’t help but shout out as you are handed the schedule from the butler. Astronomy, Literature, Human History, Mythology, Business, Sword Fighting, Seahorse Riding, The list seemed to go on and on. How could the boy think or even breathe with all of this on his mind?
“Thank you. That’s all for now.” You tell the butler with a sigh as you put the sheet down on the desk, right next to the other stacks of paperwork you had yet to deal with.
It’s been 3 weeks, 3 long and grueling weeks, since your meeting with Scylla. During that time, you have been busy. Not only from etiquette classes and paperwork but also with managing your survival plan.
Yes, a survival plan. You, at first, didn’t want a survival plan—it just didn’t seem that useful—But, after meeting Scylla and learning more, you decided one was absolutely crucial. After all, even in your protected manor, Amphitrite was still a huge threat. Not only just to you either.
With the butler now long gone, you reach down to the last draw of your desk and pull out a couple of sheets of paper. Pieces of paper that laid a simple rough draft of the plan.
So far, you had a Plan A and a Plan B.
Plan A seemed simple. It was to get Amphitrite kicked out of the palace but that was far from as simple it seemed. You thought Poseidon would be rushing to divorce the woman, He hated her after all, But he wasn’t. Working at snail pace was more like it.
“…It seems he needs some sort of push to get her out…” You mumble to yourself as you update a couple of things on the paper. It seemed you would have to come back to this plan later. “…Perhaps I should learn more about Poseidon….”
You quickly shake that idea out of your head. Not a chance. You felt bad for the guy but you weren’t about to become all buddy buddy with him just yet.
“Now as for Plan B…”
Plan B was a lot harder. Plan B was to get Poseidon and Triton to actually have a decent father-son relationship. You, at first, tried having Triton’s schedule free for the past three weeks in hopes Poseidon would stop by. Perhaps to check up on the child now that Amphitrite is gone. But, that was again a wrong guess on your part.
“What to do… I have to at least put one of these plans in soon. It’s not like I can continue ignoring the elephant in the room.” You groan to yourself as you lean back in the chair. On top of your survival plans not working, you had recently discovered that Hermes—who was stopping by a lot—was secretly relaying information to Zeus and the other gods. It seemed they were checking in to see how your progress with seducing Poseidon was going. “I have to kick out Amphitrite sooooon if I want to save myself from facing Zeus’ wrath or, much worse, getting married to Poseidon.”
As you whine to yourself at your bad luck, you miss the door opening as someone sneakily slips in.
“What to do… what to do…” You whine to yourself as you massage your temples, “I have to figure this out soon or—“
Instantaneously, you are cut off as something comes jumping up onto your stomach. Almost knocking you off your chair.
“Huh?” You choke out as you see the familiar head of gold leaning against your chest. His body is smooshed against you as he sits on your lap. Seeming to try to get as close as possible to you, “T-Triton?”
At your call, Triton’s head lifts up to look at you.
“Hello mom!” He says with a smile. A smile that seemed to instantly brighten up the room and your mood. Your depressing thoughts now long forgotten.
However, like everything in the world, things can’t last forever.
“Whatcha looking at mom?” Triton asks as he leans towards the desk to take a look, bringing you back to reality. Casually, well to the best of your ability, you grab a couple of papers and cover them just enough so that Triton couldn’t read them.
“Oh, just paperwork, Triton.”
Surprisingly, Triton seems to perk up at that, “Like what? I bet I can help. Is it finances? Party planning? Invitations? Wages? Fa—“
Quickly, you cut the boy off. “It’s fine, Triton. I don’t need help. Why don’t you go play instead? It looks like a nice day out.”
You are surprised at how Triton lets out a loud huff. Seeming displeased with your suggestion. Unsure of what to do, you sit there frozen. Was it something you said?
“It’s…” Triton mumbles under his breath, the rest of the sentence he mumbles you can’t hear, and you are forced to ask him to repeat. He seems to pause for a moment, seeming hesitant to repeat before finally doing so, “It’s not the same without you….”
“Oh, Triton…” You cood out as you rub the boy’s head, trying to console the boy. A pit of guilt settled in your stomach as you remember that you haven’t spent a lot of time with the boy recently. Especially with being busy and all. “Well…”
You pause as you take a look at the giant stack of paperwork. Could you even leave in the first place with all these things that still need to be done?
If only there was a way to spend time with Triton and get some of the work done at the same time…
As you scan the desk and room for ideas, it suddenly hits you.
“Well. How about you and I pick out your lesson plans?” You suggest to the boy as you reach across the desk and pick up the schedule. The giant scroll-like paper slightly unravels as you loosely hold it in a singular hand.
“Lesson plans?” Triton asks confused as he tilts his head slightly to the side. “Wouldn’t it just be the same as it was before?”
“Not a chance!” You accidentally shout out before catching yourself. Shit, you didn’t mean to raise your voice like that. “This is too much for a boy your age, even if you are god. We need to pick out a balanced schedule that gives you lessons to learn AND enough time to play or relax.”
“So I get to choose…?”
“Pretty much. I mean you would still need to take some classes that you wouldn’t like as some are needed to help you learn as a god. But, if there’s any unneeded classes we will just scrap it.”
.
..
…
“Aren't they all needed…?”
At Triton’s confusion, you can’t help but let out a sigh. Looks like there’s still a lot of work to go with helping this boy act and be happy like a kid his age.
“Not exactly. Here.” You grab onto Triton and lift the boy with you as you stand. “It's better to show you what I mean. Let’s go to each of the classes and pick them off one by one.”
“Ok!” Triton exclaims. His eyes wide and sparkly as he holds onto you, just happy to spend some time with you. Precious boy…
As you walk towards the door to leave, you can’t help but note that Triton felt lighter than usual. Had he possibly lost weight since he arrived? You did notice Triton had smaller portions of food compared to you at meal times. That wasn’t good for a growing boy…
“Seems like I’ll have to pay the chef and cooking staff a visit later…”
—.—.—.—.—
What a nice day, you can’t help but note as you stare up into the sea. Sea turtles and rays swimming high above as they make their way to their destinations.
You were currently standing in the empty grass field between the three manors. The same place you met Poseidon on the night you snuck out to find Triton.
Quickly, as the memory comes to mind, you shake it out of your head. That wasn’t important to you right now and that was because of one simple fact.
Today was Triton’s first day back at lessons. It had taken a lot of work and negotiation but you got the boy a healthy and balanced schedule. You honestly gave yourself a pat on the back once you were finished.
Though, on top of the schedule, you also pulled off another impossible stunt for yourself.
“Mom!”
You spin around as Triton comes sprinting over, books in his hands from his History lesson that just completed. You should tell the boy to slow down but you can’t find it in you to do so. Instead, kneeling down and opening your arms for the boy to jump into.
“Oof—“ You squeak out as you catch Triton, accidentally falling over on your back as you do so. You let out a loud laugh, too happy to even care that you embarrassingly fell over in front of some of the servants that travelled from manor to manor.
Triton didn’t seem to care either as his books were astrew all over the sea grass.
“I was so excited for our first lesson today, mom! It was so hard sitting still in the other classes.” Triton shouts out excitedly as he finally lifts himself off of you, allowing you to sit up.
That’s right. The impossible feat you did. You got your own taught class to be placed into Triton’s Schedule.
You called it “Humanity 101” but, in reality…
“Could we try playing kickball today? I saw a lot of human kids playing it down the street when I stayed at your place.” Triton asks excitedly as he looks through the bag of goodies you brought out.
…It was honestly just an excuse for you and Triton to spend time together with your ever so busy schedule.
“Of course we can play!”
Kickball… Soccer.. Board games… The days seem to fly by as you and Triton do your “classes” and before you know it a week has already gone by. Life is brighter during these days to the point that even the ever so plentiful paperwork doesn’t bother you. But, as you’ve learned in your time staying here many, many times, nothing is forever.
“S-Shit…” You mumble out anxiously under your breath as you attempt to distract yourself with the kickball in your hands. You were in the field yet again waiting for Triton to get out of class. The boy had mentioned yesterday as you walked him to sword practice that he wanted to play a simple game of catch for class the next day. But…
What in the world was this guy doing here?
Hesitantly, you shift your gaze over to Poseidon who stood a couple of feet away on the sidewalk. At first when you saw the male, you thought nothing of it. After all, he seemed to be passing through the area with a group of his attendees.
So, why did he stop? You can’t help but think as you quickly shift your gaze away from the male and back down towards the ground. You just didn’t understand why he dismissed his attendees and chose to stand there and watch you.
Well, he technically wasn’t watching you—His gaze was up to the sky—But, there was no doubt in your mind the guy stayed back for you. Could he perhaps be stalkin—
“Mom!”
Just in time.
You let out a sigh of relief as Triton came running over, just getting out of class. He seems to pick up on Poseidon’s presence, staring at his father for a little bit as he walks over, but chooses not to pay it too much attention. Instead, continuing to run up to you.
“Hello Triton—“ You freeze for a second as a shiver goes up your spine. What the hell? What was this nasty feeling… It felt like you had just been thrown in some sort of ice bath.
As you spin around to see what was causing you to feel this way, you almost instantly figure out why. Poseidon was now staring down at his phone, seeming to have gotten a text message or something, and you could tell he wasn’t in the brightest mood from it either. You could practically feel the blood lust from where you were standing.
“You better not take it out on me…” You grumble underneath your breath, instantly regretting it as Poseidon’s gaze shifts up to glare at you. He couldn’t have heard you… right?
However, you weren’t take any chances this time and turned your attention to Triton. Trying to make it seem that Poseidon accidentally heard something.
“Now. Why don’t we get started? I’ll stand about a few feet away and you—“ Your voice trails off at the end as you stare down at your hands. Your empty hands. Where did the kickball go? You just had it— “Ack!”
You couldn’t believe your eyes as you looked, a gasp, at the kickball that was held… in Poseidon’s hands. How did that fucker…
Actually, never mind, you should have realized before that Poseidon was clearly fast as he was not only a god but also, right in front of you, leaped a large distance to stop that jellyfish that tried to kill you.
“Mom, Are we going to play?” Triton blinks innocently up at you, pure puppy eyes that awaited the game of catch that he wanted to play. Shit, you can’t just allow Poseidon to keep the ball now.
“I-I’ll be right back.” You anxiously tell the Triton as you leave his side. Making your way over to Poseidon. You honestly felt like you were the sacrificial lamb approaching the big bad bully of the playground. Except this time, Poseidon wasn’t just a bully picking on you but an all powerful god that could literally snap you in half with his pinky if he so pleased.
“H-He—“ You don’t even get past the greeting to Poseidon before he grabs the back of your head. Holding you still with one hand and the Kickball in the other, Poseidon started to practically curse you out with god knows what. Honestly, it was just a spew of curses along with your name and other things.
However, across the field, what seemed terrifying to you was way different to someone else.
As Triton observes the scene in front of him, he gets even more confused. In Triton’s point of view, he didn’t pick up on your nervous clammy hands or anxious shifting as being something from Poseidon’s glare. He honestly didn’t even pick up on the fact his father was glaring, he just thought that it was his usual stare.
To him, it looked like you two were chatting as his father held the back of your head. Seeming to tease you as he held the stolen kickball away in his other. But… his father doesn’t tease. He doesn’t even joke around. So, what was going on?
Staring… Clammy Hands… Nervousness… Physical Touch…
Triton lets out a small gasp as a thought hits him. It can’t be true, Triton couldn’t believe it.
His mom and father…
were in love.
He didn’t want to believe it but the evidence was all there. If watching any of those cheesy romance movies taught him anything, it was to identify the signs of falling in love.
At any minute, they look like they could possibly ki…
Triton’s face blushes up at the thought. He just couldn’t believe it. Does this mean mom is now his real real mom?
Triton perks up at the thought. That would be awesome.
“I’ll help you, mom…” Triton mumbles underneath his breath as he looks determined up at you two. He will help you two just like how Uncle Zeus was helping you. Like….What do humans call it…? A wingman. Yeah, he would be your wingman.
“Father! Mom!” At Triton’s shout, it was then that Poseidon finally stopped his heavy train of insults. Oh, Thank goodness for Triton…
“I realized I have to go see one of my teachers for something. Why don’t you guys go play instead?”
You feel yourself choke at Triton’s words. What was he saying?! However, before you can even ask the boy, He was long gone. Leaving you and Poseidon alone, with a grip still on the back of your head.
This was a nightmare for you. Poseidon still looks like he wants to kill you at any moment.
“What a pain.” Poseidon grumbles out under his breath, sending shivers up your spine. You know what… Screw Plan A and B. You now have Plan C, worrying about Poseidon’s constant mood changes so he doesn’t kill you in a fit of rage.
“Hey… why don’t we talk thiS— Eep!” You are cut off as Poseidon picks you up. Instead of his usual hold, he throws you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. You just wished Poseidon knew you could keep up with him perfectly fine so he didn’t have to keep picking you up like this. “Where…Where are we going?”
Silence.
Well, at least he wasn’t angry at you anymore, you think with a sigh as you relax into Poseidon’s hold. Accepting your fate as there was no way to possibly escape from him.
Gods… any of them except Poseidon. Please… help…
—.—.—.—.—
“Oooo…” Triton lets out as he peeps from around the corner. His gaze trained to his father back as he left carrying you.
“I didn’t know father could be so romantic.”
“…Hmm? Triton?”
Triton feels himself jump slightly at the voice behind him. Spinning around, he expected to be caught by some sort of maid or teacher but instead, it was someone else.
“Uncle Zeus? Hermes? And…” Triton’s gaze trails over the third person, “Aunty Aphrodite?”
“Hello dear Triton. It’s been a while~” Aphrodite coos out at the boy in front of her. Slightly leaning down to fondle his cheeks. “Goodness me…Look at how much you’ve grown.”
“T-Thank you.” Triton chokes out with a blush, “I-Uh. W-What are you all doing here?”
Zeus can’t help but chuckle out at the nervous attitude of his nephew. Still ever so shy in front of women it seemed. “I apologize for the surprise visit but we are here to see (y/n).”
“See mom…?” Triton questions out as he looks back and forth between the three. He could understand why Zeus or perhaps Hermes was here to see you but, why Aphrodite?
“Ohh~, I’ve brought a couple of gifts for your mother.” Aphrodite explains with a coy smile as she shows Triton a lidded box.
“Really? What sort of—“ Hermes instantly grabs onto Triton as he attempts to check under the lid of the box. “Huh? Hermes?”
“It’s…It’s specifically for Lady (Y/n), Master Triton.” Hermes answers vaguely as Aphrodite and Zeus laugh at the funny moment that just occurred. That was a close one.
“Specifically for mom?”
Calming herself down, Aphrodite explains more clearly, “It’s women's clothes for your mother. Ones that…Oh Goodness, your father can only see.”
“Ohhhh… Ok.” Triton answers, even if he still doesn’t understand. “Well, Mom just left with dad.”
At this Zeus chokes and Aphrodite almost drops the box, Seemingly shocked at what Triton just said. Even Hermes was startled but he still, somehow, keeps a cool head and quickly hides his reaction.
“What do you mean by that Master Triton?” Hermes asks for an alaberation as the other two nod. Thinking they were simply misunderstanding something like Poseidon giving paperwork to you compared to you two actually hanging out.
“Well, Dad stole the ball from mom to tease her.” Hermes and the others feel themselves freeze at Triton’s words. Poseidon…Teasing a human? “So, mom walked over and they started talking… No, flirting with each other.”
“Flirting?” Zeus asks, surprised as he strokes his beard. He would usually take others' words with a grain of salt as they could perhaps be lying but, this was Triton. The boy has probably never even lied in his entire life.
“Yeah, so I decided to leave to give them some space and after I’m gone, I was actually hiding around the corner here, Father picks mom and throws her over his shoulder. They walked that way so… I think they are heading to father’s manor.”
“Oh, Isn’t Amphitrite out today…?” Zeus chuckles out, a nasty thought filtering into his brain. Could they possibly be going to do…
“A-Aunty Aphrodite?” Triton chokes out cautiously, catching Zeus’ attention.
“Oh ho ho. Be careful, Aphrodite. You are scaring the boy.” Zeus says, not exactly meaning his words as he reprimands the woman. Knowing that from how she was crushing the box in her hands and how hard she was biting her lip that she was too lost in her nasty thoughts to even listen.
“H-How Scandalous!” Aphrodite squeals out as she clutches the box to her chest, seeming to grow faint from all her excitement, “Zeus, I need your opinion on this. Could they possibly be—“
Triton’s hearing is instantly blocked off by Hermes as Aphrodite and Zeus continue to talk. The younger boy looks up at his cousin in confusion but doesn’t say anything. The only thought running in his mind being.
Why was Hermes' face turning so red?
Author Note: very Quick author note before I forget. Hahah this was kind of a messy funny chapter so I hope people still enjoyed this one. I wanted a fun moment of misunderstanding to help join into the next chapter thursday. Where Chapter 11 will pick up back with Poseidon and Reader. Also R.I.P Triton. Feel bad for putting my baby through meeting Aphrodite.
Note from the creator of this stupid idea:
I loved her first.
“Who do you think it was? Any ideas?”
“I…” you shrug. “No?”
Gina arches a brow, staring you down from across your kitchen table. “So, that was a lie.”
You can’t stop the laugh that bubbles up from your chest, Gina also chuckling. It’s a relief, the fact that she doesn’t hesitate to call you out. You’re grateful that you finagled her number from Jin, shooting him a text that looked a lot like this:
Me: Burn this after reading
Me: We can’t have any evidence !!
Kim Seokjinnie: ok, hi. I’m not burning my phone weirdo. I’ll just keep it away from Jungkook. What’s up??
Me: Hi. You know what I meant.
Me: Can you give me Gina’s number?
Kim Seokjinnie: Sure, I’ll send you the contact in a second. You two gonna hang out or something?
Me: Hopefully…do you think it’s weird if I just ask her out of the blue? Will she not wanna come?
Kim Seokjinnie: Nah, she’s pretty chill. I bet she’ll come
Kim Seokjinnie: *Kim Seokjinnie shared a contact with you*
Kim Seokjinnie: do you need anything before I burn my phone?
Me: no, thank you!! I owe you one. I’m short on friends rn, hopefully she’ll come over
Kim Seokjinnie: I’m sorry miss you. We’ll all get to hang out once this is all over, I promise.
“Yah! I really don’t know. I mean they’ve all be so…”
“So what?”
You sigh, sounding like some kid in a dreamy teen movie. “Perfect?”
“There’s no such thing,” Gina huffs, leaning back in her chair. It’s a bit rickety, you’d found it at a yard sale with Namjoon and Jimin. You had just moved into your apartment, and realized that you were a little low on furniture. Together, you’d managed to find three mismatching chairs that made you grin each time you saw them.
It was a little odd at the time, you didn’t want to buy three chairs. Two seemed like plenty. They convinced you though, and looking back you understand why they were so adamant.
Wasn’t it rule #3? “Limit one-on-one interaction”? Three chairs made it so that there was always space for at least two of them.
Suddenly you look at the most average things in your house with different eyes.
Groaning, you rub your hands over your face. You’ve probably smudged your makeup, but you don’t care. It’s Friday night, you can do whatever you want.
“Unfortunately, I really think that there might be.” You let out a dry chuckle. “Seven dates with the world’s most perfect men. I knew I was screwed from the beginning, but this, I mean, I didn’t expect it to go this far.”
“On the bright side, you only have one more to go.” Gina gets up, stretching before moving to put her plate in the sink. She’d picked up some takeout on her way to your house, proving to you that you two are going to be friends for a long, long time.
“I’m terrified because of that. What happens after tomorrow’s date? I know it’s up to me, but I feel like I’m waiting for someone to come tell me the next step.”
Gina hums in agreement, shooting you an apologetic look. “Maybe I shouldn’t have pointed out how flirty they were at the haunted house. You never would have gotten into this mess.”
“No,” you wave her off. “It’s not your fault. Jungkook let it slip anyway, after the door closed on us in the basement. Ugh, I still get freaked out thinking about that. Has that happened since?”
Gina pauses over the sink, back turned to you as she runs her plate under the hot water. After a moment she shuts it off, turning around to wipe her hands off on a dish towel before leaning up against the counter.
“Erm…”
Your stomach drops. “What.”
“It’s just…” she crosses her arms and uncrosses them, unsure of what to do with her hands. “The door is connected to a little button on every employee’s key fob. You know, just for some extra scare factor.”
You meet her sheepish gaze with a blank stare. “So you’re telling me…”
“It’s just a part of the tour,” Gina shrugs. “Wait, what happened? He told you about the pact when the door closed? That’s…that’s honestly not the most romantic setting-”
“No no, we had a little moment after the door closed, and we almost kissed. But he stopped himself and said the I didn’t have to worry about him making a move. When we got out, I asked him why, and that’s when he mentioned the pact.”
“Huh.”
“Yeah.”
“So tomorrow is the last date, correct?”
“Yup.”
“Look,” Gina notices your worried expression. “Do yourself a favor. Let go. Don’t waste tomorrow thinking about what’s gonna happen next. Focus on the moment, ok? Then how about we get together next week sometime to talk everything over? If you feel like that might help, that is.”
You definitely made the right choice in inviting Gina over. You can already feel your stress levels going down.
“Ok.”
You’re up early the next morning, earlier than you’d like. You’re not sure how long you’ve been sitting on your sofa, basking in the golden morning sun and watching the little dust motes float in the air, but it’s certainly been a while.
For once, it’s quiet in your mind. You’re not sure why now, why today. There’s no doubt you’ll be your typical bumbling mess once Yoongi picks you up, but for now all is peaceful.
It’s the last date. Somehow, despite how much you’ve enjoyed these little escapades, you feel relief at the thought. Knowing that you’ve made it nearly to the end without doing anything remarkably stupid (you’re still mortified that you and Jimin got kicked out of that basilica but oh well), and now you’re so close.
For now, you slide your worries under the rug, to be left there for the weekend. You curl your legs under you and lean your head back against the cushions to drink in the sunlight. It warms your skin, leaving you feeling even better than before.
Yoongi is supposed to be here around four. Jungkook had sent you a quick text earlier in the week checking that you didn’t have any plans for Saturday afternoon and night. You didn’t bother to tell him that you always had all day open for them.
While the exchange had been short, you couldn’t help but wonder if he was blushing just as much as you when his contact popped up on your screen. In an instant you were plunged into the memory of clinging to him just outside your front door, Jungkook’s shaky breaths the only thing keeping you planted in reality.
Either way, it was safe to say that you were a blushing mess despite the simplicity of the text. He kept it strictly professional, not once alluding to the events of last Saturday. But you could still hear those words he uttered when he asked if you ever thought about what might have happened if he’d kissed you in the haunted house when he had the chance.
“I do. Every day.”
Of course you thought about it. You let out an amused huff on the couch, laughing to yourself. Who wouldn’t? But the only thing was the fact that you were thinking about a lot of things. Not just Jungkook.
Or his lips, for that matter.
The couch rustles as you get up, deciding to change out of your red sweatshirt for a green one. You’d been instructed to dress warm, which made you wonder what was planned for today. Outside everything looks warm and pleasant, certainly no need for anything too heavy.
By the time afternoon rolls around, you’re tempted to call up Gina for a late lunch or something. To say you’re antsy is an understatement; you’re positively losing it. The clock on the wall has decided to try its hand at stopping time altogether, and you think it’s doing a pretty good job of it. Every time you glace over, seemingly no time has passed.
This time, you really start to wonder if no time has passed. You swear it’s been stuck at 3 o’clock for a while-
The sound of someone knocking on your door has you nearly tipping over from where you perch trying to grab the clock.
For some stupid reason, you’re frozen to your spot at the far end of your living room. Holding the clock in your hands, you jump a little as a second tentative knock sounds.
To your utter mortification, your mouth opens and you yell out, “Come in!”
You’re still frozen in place when the door opens and Yoongi pokes his head in. His eyes immediately land on you, a sheepish smile that he has a hard time containing immediately breaking out.
“You’re not planning on throwing that at me, right?” He asks, making you glare down at the clock you cling to.
“Oh.” Your knuckles have turned white, and somehow your heart has decided to try its hand at sprinting a marathon. “No. I- it’s broken. I think.”
Yoongi shuffles inside, closing the door gently behind him before wandering over to you. His pale complexion makes the pink on his cheeks easy to spot. Somehow the fact that he’s blushing makes you blush.
“Do you have batteries around here?” He asks quietly, hiding his amusement.
“Maybe in the kitchen?” You brush past him, handing off the clock. “Would you mind getting the old batteries out?”
He mumbles out a sure, plopping down on your sofa while he gets to work on the clock. He’s wearing a similar outfit to you, which makes you smile. It’s not very often these days that he sports a bandana and you wonder if he somehow knew that you love the way he looks in it. His hair looks particularly fluffy as it kisses his forehead, the dark bandana giving him an air of coolness you know you could never pull off.
Rummaging around your kitchen drawers, you pause when you realize what you’re doing. Are you stalling? What’s the rush to fix a clock when you have Min Yoongi in the other room waiting to take you out?
Closing the drawer, you take a deep breath and shake your head.
“Sorry Yoongi,” you call out, trudging back into the living room. “I’m an idiot.”
He looks at you over his shoulder, a smirk tugging at his lips. “What’s your reasoning?”
“Ouch.”
Yoongi chuckles, setting the clock down on the coffee table before getting to his feet. “Wow, is it just me or…”
You wince. “This got off to a bad start, huh.”
“Yeah.”
Looking at each other from across the room, you realize just how much you’ve missed him. His witty sarcastic remarks, his honesty.
Him.
“Can we start over? Go knock on the door again.”
Yoongi’s already on his way, huffing out a laugh as he steps outside. “Alright, see you in a second.” The door clicks shut behind him, and you’re suddenly left with the silence of your house.
As Yoongi timidly knocks on the door, the same sense of calm you experienced this morning settles over you.
The seventh date. No more guessing who’s on the other side of the door, no more anxious glances in the mirror to check that everything looks flawless. It’s just you, Yoongi, and the door between you.
There’s already a smile on your face as you open that door, finding Yoongi standing with his hands in his pocket. He returns your grin, feeling like a fellow conspirator in a heist that has yet to be planned.
“I’m here,” he announces, then adds with a chuckle, “finally.”
“Took you long enough,” you tease, reaching out to grab his jacket and pull him inside. He feigns a horrified expression at your flirty nature, but you just roll your eyes. You’re not sure who wraps their arms around the other first, but the next thing you know, you’re wrapped up in a tight embrace.
I missed you, is what you want to say, but the words get caught in your throat. The lump that’s formed there only grows thicker with emotion as Yoongi’s gravelly voice rumbles against your hair.
“How’re you holding up?”
Your arms fall around his waist, ever aware of his shoulder. Even though he says he’s completely healed now, you aren’t taking any chances. It’s quiet for a long moment as you struggle to find an answer.
“I…fine. I’m fine.” You pull away and arch an eyebrow at him, pleased to see that is cheeks are still rosy despite the serious look in his eye. “How are you holding up?”
He lets out a breathy laugh, dropping your gaze. “Fine.” Then, when he catches your disbelieving stare, he states as innocently as possible, “What? Aren’t we lying to each other tonight?”
“You suck.”
“See!” He exclaims as you step out of his grasp to grab your things. “You always do that when you’ve been caught in a lie!”
“Ugh, yah! I wasn’t lying,” you turn around to face him, walking backward toward your room. “I’m fine, really.”
He shrugs. “And so am I.”
You stifle your laughter as you enter your room, grabbing your things and wondering if you should grab a coat. “Do I really need a coat?” You call down the hall.
“Yes!”
Pursing your lips, you snatch the puffy monstrosity from your closet before turning to head out. Double checking that you have everything you need; your eyes can’t help but glance at the item sitting atop your dresser.
You stick your tongue out at it. A few seconds later it’s tucked safely away in your top drawer and you’re heading out into the hallway. Your stomach does an uneasy flip as you recall the words that are practically burned in the backs of your eyelids now.
I loved her first.
Yoongi gets up from off the couch, waiting for you beside the door. His dark eyes survey you as you walk toward him. “Good to go?” He asks quietly. Clutching your coat a little tighter to your chest, you nod.
The two of you head out, locking up your apartment and settling in the car that Yoongi drove over. Before long, you’re out on the highway, speeding toward your destination.
Which, you’ve just realized, is still a mystery to you.
“Sooo…” You begin, smiling lazily at Yoongi. You take a moment to admire his hands that are wrapped around the steering wheel. “Where are we going?”
A smile tugs at his lips, but he manages to contain it as he adopts a serious expression. He glances over at you. “We’re going to see the sea.”
“We’re…” you stutter, furrowing your brows. “We’re going to see the sea?”
A breathy chuckle escapes him. “Yeah. But it’s a long drive, so are you down to listen to a murder-mystery with me?”
“YES.”
You’re still pretty sure that it was the nosy maid that did it by the time you arrive at your destination. Two hours, one murder-mystery short audiobook, and several snacks later, the sun is well on its way to the horizon when Yoongi pulls off to a sandy parking lot filled to the brim with cars.
There’s tons of people mulling about, several of them appear to be young families who smile fondly as their children laugh and play in the sand. There’s a couple of food-trucks that have popped up on the beach, which sport long lines. Yoongi observes them woefully, seeming to come to some sort of understanding with himself before moving to get out of the car.
“Woah, what’s with all the people? Is this beach always this busy?”
It’s a beach you’ve never been to before, the pristine sand glowing as the sun makes its way across the sky.
“Today’s a special occasion,” Yoongi explains, popping the trunk and rummaging around. “We should probably pick out a spot now before all the good ones are taken.”
You come around to the back of the car to meet him, taking the blanket he extends out to you. Leaving your big coat in the backseat, you hope he doesn’t scold you and tell you to put it on. Right now it’s windy, but fairly warm. No need to look like a living marshmallow just yet.
Before you can inquire after what the special occasion is, Yoongi passes you a couple of water bottles and begins rattling off instructions.
“How about I jump in line to buy us some dinner,” the way he says it so casually has your heart skipping a beat for some reason, “and you head down the beach to scout out a decent spot?”
“But what kind of spot do you mean? Is there a show or something?”
Yoongi pauses, closing the trunk and running a hand through his hair. “Yeah, something like that. A show. Just find a spot that you like, I’ll come find you with our food, ok?”
“Ay ay, captain.” You trudge away, hoisting the blanket up higher in your arms as you begin to look for an empty space. The immediate surrounding beach area appears to be pretty packed, which has you marching farther and farther away from the parking lot.
You grin as a couple of children race past you, giggling as they fly their kites. It’s looks like it’s a little boy and with his younger sister, trying their best to keep their kites afloat in wind. Waving at them, your smile only grows as the boy sheepishly turns away and the girl cheerfully waves back.
It feels like you walk for years before finding a clearing. You were definitely looking for a semi-secluded spot, not too keen on spending your long-awaited date with Yoongi surrounded by strangers. It doesn’t even occur to you to ask someone what the big deal is about today before you’re laying the blanket out. Not wanting to leave anything unattended just for it to blow away, you decide to just be patient until Yoongi finds you.
The sand is warm beneath the blanket as you plop down, resting with your face turned toward the sun as you let out a content sigh. Despite the chill of the wind, the sun warms you right up.
“Why are you alone?”
Peeking one eye open at the little voice, you’re delighted to see the same little girl from earlier standing a little ways away. She watches you with a meek expression, her kite forgotten at her feet.
“Oh, I’m not alone,” you explain. “I’m just waiting for my friend to come find me. He went to go get food.”
“Oh.” The young girl shuffles her feet. “My mommy says that I need to get all my wiggles out before the show.”
You chuckle. “Really? What show are we watching tonight? Is it Disney?” That would certainly make sense for all of the young families here tonight. Did Yoongi bring you to a beach-front outdoor movie?
“No, silly!” The girl giggles at your questions. “The sky’s coming to say hello!”
“What?”
“That’s what my mommy said. She said, ‘Young-mi get your wiggles out, the sky is coming to say hello soon!’”
You blink, a little amused by Young-mi’s earnest response. “I see…I didn’t know that the sky was coming to say hello tonight.”
“Then why are you here?”
“Oh,” you crane your neck toward the parking lot, but it’s too far away to see Yoongi. “My friend brought me, as a surprise.”
“Wow,” Young-mi utters in a reverent tone. “Can I meet your friend?”
“I don’t see why not.”
With a gleeful shout, Young-mi takes off running, her kite skipping along the ground behind her. She runs toward her family, her mother grinning at the sight before reaching out to pull her into her arms. You watch on with a forgotten smile, wondering for a split second what that would be like.
If you squint, that could be Yoongi sitting beside Young-mi’s mother, throwing his head back with laughter at something his daughter says to him. Their son crouches in the sand nearby, digging around as though searching for gold.
Laying down with a soft sigh, you close your eyes and let the little daydream take over. Here, at the beach. Telling your children that this is where you had your first date; laughing as they make disgusted faces when Yoongi plants a loud kiss on your cheek-
“Did the nosy maid get to you?”
Yoongi stands above you with arms laden with food. He blocks out the sun, the rays coming around to make him appear like an angel. Judging from the delicious smells radiating from the food he carries, you think he actually might be.
“Ah, so you agree that you think it was her that murdered Duke Rittington?” Your voice sounds a little croaky, a testament to the fact that you were just dozing a moment ago. Leaning up to ease some of the food from his arms, Yoongi snorts.
“No. It was obviously the son. Why can’t you see it?”
Rolling your eyes, you pat a spot next to you on the blankets. Yoongi takes the seat without hesitation. “Because, the son seems like too easy of a suspect. Whereas the maid-”
The screams of Young-mi as she rushes toward you cut you off. “You have a boyfriend?!”
“Oh, no.”
Yoongi leans over, still busy arranging the bags of food – is that a cheeseburger you see? – around the blanket. “Who’s that?” He mumbles.
“I, uh, made a friend while you were grabbing food,” you explain with a small smile.
Now Young-mi reaches your blanket, dropping to her knees as she gazes up at Yoongi with wide, innocent eyes. “Hi, my name is Young-mi and I’m four years old. I’m the second tallest in my class.” Young-mi prattles off information, her large eyes never once leaving Yoongi’s face. “Are you her boyfriend? I hope you’re her boyfriend.”
Yoongi lets out a startled laugh. “You do? Why’s that?”
“You’re so pretty.”
Now both of you burst out laughing, Young-mi looking utterly confused at your outburst. Yoongi covers his face with his hands, shaking his head.
“What? What’s so funny?” Young-mi questions.
You grin at her. “You think he’s pretty?” The little girl nods enthusiastically. “I do too.”
Yoongi peers over at you at this comment, an unasked question in his eyes. The pink in his cheeks has intensified, as has your own blush.
“Aren’t I supposed to be the one complementing you?” He asks under his breath. You shrug.
“You brought food, so now we’re even.”
Young-mi lingers a little while longer, asking a few questions and drawing in the sand. Munching down on your cheeseburger, you eye Young-mi’s kite.
“Do you mind if I try to fly your kite for a second?” The question is out of your mouth before you can fully process it, but Young-mi looks up at you excitedly.
“Yes!!” She squeals, immediately dragging the little handle over to you. “You have to run really fast, that’s what my mommy told me. Then it’ll fly!”
Glancing back at Yoongi as you clamber to your feet, you don’t miss the fond smile he wears as he watches the interaction take place. You wave at him, heading off down the beach with Young-mi. Once you’ve walked far enough, you wink down at her.
“Ok, you run on ahead and I’ll catch up in a few seconds.”
The girl wastes no time running off, her laughter making you feel lighter than you have in weeks. Once she’s far enough off, you take off after her. She heads straight toward her family, who smile at you as you attempt to get the kite off the ground.
Sand flies up behind you as you race, and you catch a glimpse of Yoongi with his phone out, recording you with a wide smile on his face. The sun has hit the horizon now, a dizzying array of colors sending your mind into a joyful frenzy. Up ahead, Young-mi has successfully made it to her family and is waiting for you to catch up. She jumps up and down as the kite soars above you, the little pinwheels attached to it spinning around in the wind.
A bit more energy overtakes you, and you sprint the last few yards toward Young-mi, unable to stop the laugh that jumps out of you. You feel so free, here on the beach. It’s almost like you’re up there flying with the kite-
“Wait!”
Someone shouts it, you’re not exactly sure who, but by the time the plea registers in your ears, it’s too late. Foot catching in the hole that Young-mi’s brother had been digging earlier, you feel a twist of pain before tumbling to the ground.
You cry out, barely managing to catch yourself before faceplanting it. The handle from Young-mi’s kite digs painfully into your hand, but that’s the least of your problems at the moment.
Young-mi’s family rushes over to you, but before they reach you Yoongi is dropping to your side.
“Oh,” you pant, “hi Yoongs.”
“Are you alright?” He’s also panting, and you wonder if he had begun running after you before you even fell, foreseeing your path. “Your foot…”
“I am so sorry!” Young-mi’s mother stoops down on your other side, her husband right behind her. “We completely forgot that Doyun even dug that hole! Can you move? Are you in pain?”
From where you’re laying belly-down on the sand, you can’t help but feel the burn of embarrassment in your cheeks. “I…move? Yeah, I can – ah never mind.” You wince as you attempt to get to your feet only for the dull ache in your right foot to flare up to a fiery red pain. Yoongi immediately reaches out for you, unsure of what to do. His hands ghost over your leg, but retract when you hiss in pain.
“Here, my husband-” Young-mi’s mother points over her shoulder to the man in question. “He’s a nurse. Honey, could you…?”
“Do you mind if I take a look at your ankle?” The man asks in a gentle voice. “Just to make sure nothing’s broken.”
With a nod, you allow both him and Yoongi to help you swivel around to sit the correct way, the blush you already have deepening even more when Yoongi takes up a spot at your back. He gently pushes your shoulders back until you’re leaning into his chest, his arms coming to wrap around you in a protective manner.
When you wince as the man delicately presses down on your already swollen ankle, Yoongi begins talking.
“So, is it just me, or has this entire night been a disaster?”
You let out a choked laugh. “No, Yoongs. Well, maybe it has, but it’s all my fault. I can’t believe I fell, how embarrassing…”
“Oh, are you two out on a date? Er, sorry for prying…”
Both you and Yoongi awkwardly chuckle. “No, no…um, yeah. We are.”
“It’s our first date, actually,” Yoongi adds as an afterthought.
“How exciting! Honey, it’s their first date, did you hear that?”
The man currently inspecting your ankle spares the two of you a kindly glance. “Good for you two. You make a good looking couple.”
“But I swear I’ve seen you before,” the mother comments, squinting at Yoongi. “Where do I know you from…”
You can feel Yoongi tense up behind you, but he doesn’t say anything yet. Instead he takes to finding your hands (which you’ve slipped into your sweatshirt pocket to avoid accidentally punching the man poking and prodding at your foot), eventually curling his hands around yours and steadily unclenching your fists.
“Oh! I know it! Do you do commercials?”
Yoongi lets out an audible sigh of relief, which makes you smile for half a second before a particularly hard prod at your ankle sends you into a tailspin.
“Yeah, I’ve done a few commercials.”
“I knew it. How’s it looking, honey?”
Her husband sits back on his heels, giving you a nod. “Nothing appears to be broken, you just twisted it pretty good. Babe, grab that icepack out of the cooler. You should keep ice on it for a while to counter the swelling.”
A second later you’re handing a little bag of ice. “I don’t wanna take your ice,” you comment lamely. Yoongi chuckles in your ear, pulling back from you and standing.
“It’s just a disposable pack we used for the cooler,” the mother explains, waving off your concern. “No need to worry. We’ve got plenty more. Now, go enjoy your date!”
“Yeah, try your best to have fun. And keep ice on that, on and off for the next couple of days. It shouldn’t give you too much trouble after that.” With a wink toward Yoongi, your temporary nurse gives him a little nudge. “You seem like a good man. I think you’re in good hands here, miss.”
Young-mi bids you a mournful goodbye as you limp away with Yoongi, quickly coming to find that sand isn’t the kindest to people hopping around on one leg. You’ve made it all of four hops while clinging to Yoongi before he stops.
“Hop on my back,” he commands, stepping directly in front of you.
You blanch. “But Yoongi…your shoulder.”
“It’s fine. Just hop on. You don’t need to limp all the way back to where we’re sitting.” When you hesitate another moment, he looks back at you over his shoulder, his dark eyes sparking in the sunset. “Jagiya.”
Well, the man puts up a convincing argument.
Yoongi crouches down so you don’t have to jump, and with a bit of careful maneuvering you manage to hop onto his back. His hands grip your thighs, hoisting you up a bit higher which makes you gasp a little. Your arms instinctively wrap around his neck, careful to avoid putting too much pressure on shoulder.
Setting off toward your abandoned blanket and food, you can’t help but feel a rise of disappointment in your chest.
“Yoongi?” You mumble, almost sounding like an embarrassed child.
“Hmm?”
Hiding your face in the back of his neck, you groan. “I’m sorry.”
Yoongi’s steps falter before he continues on, confusion evident in his tone. “Sorry? For what?”
The calm that you felt earlier has completely shattered at this point, and you grit your teeth against the pain in your ankle and the onslaught of emotions that surface. What happened to picture perfect? Why couldn’t you focus?
Other than sitting in the car together, you feel as though you’ve hardly touched base with Yoongi. You haven’t seen the man in nearly two months, and yet here you are distracted as ever. Distracted with your dumb broke clock, distracted with the audiobook, distracted with a kite.
Yoongi stops in his tracks as he feels hot tears against his neck. “Jagiya?”
“I- I’m so sorry, Yoongi,” you blubber. “I’m an idiot! I c-can’t focus on anything tonight and…and now I’ve made everything fall apart by going and getting h-hurt…Yoongi, it hurts so bad. A-and now I’m complaining, which is making everything worse!”
You’re surprised when Yoongi doesn’t say a single thing, instead picking up where he left off as he trudges on toward the blanket. In response to his silence, you continue in your repentant monologue.
“And you waited in line to get us fooood,” you bite down on your lip as you fight the urge to wail. “It’s probably c-cold now, and you waited for s-so long to get it…I feel like such a bad person…if you don’t wanna continue the date, I u-understand. I promise I won’t tell anyone if you want! J-just, I’m so sorry, Yoongi. I’ve completely ruined this, and you drove t-two hours to get me here….” You’ve reached the blanket now, Yoongi gently sets you down, and you hobble on one foot as you half-expect him to grab his keys and set off toward the car. “I just can’t think straight because I read that stupid pact and-”
“Woah, back up.”
Swiveling around to face you, Yoongi has a frown etched into his face. It makes you want to turn and run, to crawl into a cave to die from embarrassment, but it’s the fact that you can barely manage to stand on one foot at the moment – let alone run – that has you standing still.
“You read the pact?” You blink, hopping a little. When Yoongi sees your struggle he reaches out to you, steadying you. “Here, let’s sit.”
“W-we’re staying?”
Yoongi gazes down at you, the look in his eyes turning unspeakable soft. “Yes, jagiya. Unless you aren’t feeling up to it anymore?” He looks as though the thought of leaving now pains him, but he waits patiently for your answer.
“I wanna stay.”
“Good. Now, what’s this about you reading the pact?”
Having successfully turned into a sniffling mess, you wipe away your tears with an angry swipe. It’s time to come clean.
“I found a copy in Jin’s room-”
“What were you doing in Jin’s room?!” Yoongi whispers frantically, growing more concerned by the second. You wave him off.
“-and I took it! I knew I shouldn’t, but I just wanted to know, you know? So I stole it but that was stupid because then I saw that thing on the back…the little note.” Your words trail off, unable to even say the word lovewhen Yoongi’s looking at you like he’s unsure of whether he wants to laugh or cry.
“The little…note?”
“Yeah, you know…” You shake your head, moving on. “And since I saw that, I’ve been a mess. Like, an actual mess. I finally called Gina help just to get some help, I needed someone to talk to because you know, I can’t talk to you guys right now which is stupid. But I’m still so lost and I screwed everything up and my ankle hurts Min Yoongi!”
You’ve stunned yourself into silence with your outburst, Yoongi across from you looks a bit lost himself as he sits back on his heels. It’s clear the moment he comes to a realization.
“The note.”
It’s all you can do to breathe normally and not burst out into tears again. Yoongi’s expression turns mournful when he sees you.
“Oh, jagiya…” leaning forward, Yoongi somehow manages to pull you into his lap. Wrapping his arms around you and tucking your head close to his chest, Yoongi pulls you in as close as he can. He sways gently back and forth, a hand coming up to cup your cheek to make you look at him.
You do so begrudgingly, feeling like nothing more than a large child. However, the moment you meet his eyes, it hits you like a lightning strike.
“Do you remember,” he begins quietly, “that time when your final paper accidentally got deleted? All you had left to do on it was add the reference page. You were distraught, remember?”
Of course you do. It’s the stuff of nightmares. Countless hours spent laboring over a final essay for a class you loathed, only to make a stupid mistake and delete it all. All of it, all nineteen pages were gone in a blink. Your hard work along with it.
“I remember you called me, a sobbing mess. Obviously I thought you’d hurt yourself, the way you were crying about killed me.” He tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear, leaving you completely enraptured in his spell as he continues speaking. “I fought with Namjoon because I needed to go see you, but we had a schedule. It was an interview, I don’t even remember for what or with whom, but I was so angry. I seriously thought I was gonna punch him. Then I remembered he goes to the gym a lot more than me, so I didn’t.”
He manages to make you crack a small grin at that. The sight spurs him on. “But I’ll never forget the sight I saw when I finally made it out to your house later that night. It was like what, two in the morning? No one knew I was even going over, which obviously I did on purpose. I didn’t want to get into another argument. When I walked in your apartment, you were sat at the kitchen table. Remember?”
The memory is vague, tinged with exhaustion and disappointment, but it’s there. You’d set up camp at your kitchen table all day, missing all other appointments just to try to rewrite your paper. You were half delirious at that point, staring at the screen seemed equal to burning at the stake.
“I’ve never seen you look more exhausted in my entire life,” Yoongi chuckles. “I remember I was ready to write the paper for you, I was so sad for you. But when I made it over there, I was floored to see that you’d already written it. Not only that, but you’d written twenty-seven pages. Twenty-seven! Who does that?!” He shakes his head at you, looking absolutely shocked.
“When I asked you why you would do that, you just shrugged and said, ‘why not reach for the stars?’ Then you submitted it, stood up, walked over to me and gave me a hug before going straight to bed. I was so shocked that I just stood there for ages, trying to fathom what had just happened.”
Yoongi sighs, glancing up at the night sky. You admire his jawline from this angle, nuzzling in a little closer to him for warmth. He notices that you didn’t bring your coat out with you, giving you a playful glare before gently rubbing his hands up and down your arms.
“Why did you tell me that?”
You can feel his shrug. “You are more capable, more special than you will ever know. I’ve always kept that in my heart, over the years. Why not reach for the stars? Jagiya…”
Yoongi shuffles a little bit before cupping your chin and pointing toward the horizon where the sun has slipped down. The night sky is becoming more visible by the second, a few stray stars winking down at you.
“Look.” He points at a certain spot in the sky just in time for you to see a streak of breathtaking light.
A falling star.
In the span of a few minutes, you’re completely speechless as the sky continues to darken and your eyes are glued heavenward. Gradually, more and more falling stars dart across the sky, taking your breath away. As they continue, you recall Young-mi’s words. The sky is coming to say hello.
Yoongi reaches for your hand, easily enveloping it while tracing the outline of your knuckles.
“You,” Yoongi breathes out, sending tingles down your spine. “Are the stars I’ve been reaching for ever since that night.”
Heart thundering against your ribs, you turn to look at him only to find his eyes also trained on the heavens. He speaks the words softly, almost to himself, but you still catch them.
“You’re a star, all the way up there…and I’m all the way down here. Maybe all I’m meant to do is admire you from afar. But for tonight, just for a moment, I’ll hold you.” His eyes slide down to meet yours, glinting with pure starlight. Cold and beautiful. Hurtling toward you, burning up in your atmosphere and leaving you wondering what would happen if you let him in.
If it would lead to utter destruction or the most beautiful thing you’ve ever witnessed.
All words have escaped you at this moment in time, but you don’t feel the need to scramble for some sort of a response. Instead you settle for snuggling in a bit closer, allowing Yoongi to hold you a bit tighter.
Tonight, he’ll hold you close to his chest while what will later be recorded as the most prominent meteor shower in recent history rains down above you. The dark night sky is set aflame with streaks of silver as falling stars graze the earth, sharing a sweet goodnight kiss as they hurtle through space. You marvel at the seemingly never-ending parade the night sky puts on, relishing the way Yoongi keeps your warm as he also marvels at the wonder above you.
There’s no words that are exchanged for the entirety of the meteor shower, the only form of communication found in the patterns Yoongi traces out against the back of your hand and the way he gazes down at you from time to time. As though making sure you’re really there.
It’s a long while before the meteor shower begins to fade, and it’s only when you hear Yoongi softly calling your name that you realized you’ve dozed off.
“It’s over, jagiya,” he coos, brushing hair away from your eyes. “Let’s get you to the car, then you can sleep the rest of the way home.”
Somehow you two manage to make it to the car, you yourself being much more coherent by then due to the sharp pains in your ankle. You realize that you two are some of the few people left at the beach, making you wonder when everyone else left.
Your eyes are half-closed when Yoongi begins to drive away, your hand finding his atop the console.
“You know you don’t need to worry about us, right?” Yoongi mumbles out, glancing over at you with a worried expression. “We’ll support whatever you decide to do. Remember what I said before? You’re the most capable person I know. You don’t need us, not really. Just…be happy.”
You mumble out something incoherent, not completely realizing that he’s referring to the aftermath of the pact until you’re already asleep.
The next thing you know, you’re parked in front of your apartment and Yoongi is grinning down at you from the passenger side door.
“C’mon,” he urges, helping you out of the car. “Careful with the ankle.”
“Mmm.”
It takes a bit of careful maneuvering to get up the stairs to your apartment, but you manage to make it. Leaning up against the door, you fumble for your keys.
Once you’ve found them, you hand them straight over to Yoongi. You’re far too tired to attempt unlocking your door at the moment. He laughs at your behavior, shooting you a proud gummy smile when he unlocks the door. You don’t even have to ask before he’s assisting you inside, helping you hobble to your room before turning to leave.
“Thank you, Yoongi. For everything.”
Yoongi smiles down at his shoes. “We’ll swing by tomorrow to check up on you if that’s ok?”
We.
Your stomach flips to remember that you’re over now with these dates. Now what-
“Or just shoot me a text? I know that might be awkward if we all show up…”
“Thank you. I’ll text you?” You sigh, running your hands over your face. “Yoongi, I…” You trail off, staring up at him from your bed as your mind and heart races. There’s just no words.
With a soft smile, he leans down and pecks your nose. The innocent gesture has your ears turning red, which widens his grin.
“I know.” He whispers back.
And then he’s gone.
And you’re left here, suddenly colder than ever.
MASTERLIST // PART 1 // PART 3
“What do you mean he sent you a good morning text?” Jo asked, almost choking on her toast.
“He asked for my number last night,” Y/N explained, her hands shaking while she tried to unlock her phone, “and when I woke up, I had a text from him saying good morning and wishing me a good day.”
“Damn the boy is a keeper,” her friend whistled and winked at her after she read the message.
“He told me he wanted to FaceTime.”
She sat on the stool next to where her best friend was sitting and rested her chin on her hand. The butterflies in her stomach felt more like hundreds of bees buzzing fiercely in there.
“And you?” Jo questioned with an intrigued look on her face, “do you wanna do it?”
“I think so,” Y/N answered, biting the inside of her cheek, “he’s really cute, and I had fun texting last night.”
“Well that’s a new one,” the ginger girl joked. All their friends knew how much Y/N hated texting, leaving messages on read for days, or taking absolutely forever to respond. She always felt weird texting, not knowing very well how to keep the conversation going over text.
“Tell him you have thirty minutes, and then you have to go do something else,” Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion and Jo rolled her eyes, “that way if you don’t feel comfortable you have an easy exit.”
“And what if I’m enjoying it?” Jo looked at her as if she was trying to explain how the water cycle worked to a kid, “Jo I’m being serious!”
“In that case, my love, you hang up and call him again after you tell me everything.”
“Who said I was gonna tell you anything, uh?” Y/N smirked and blew her a kiss after her friend gave her an offended look.
“Whatever, Y/N,” Jo flipped her off, “just tell him your professor was sick or something like that.”
“You’re a lifesaver, did I tell you that?” Y/N kissed her friend’s cheek and then jumped off, “I’m gonna go take a shower, see you later.”
“See you later, babe,” Jo said, “don’t forget to eat!”
“I won’t!” Y/N yelled, on her way to the bathroom they shared.
Y/N: Good morning! Hope you have a great day too
She smiled satisfied at her reply and hit the send button.
Y/N couldn’t remember the last time she felt so giddy about a guy, it was exciting, to say the least. Charlie seemed like an easygoing person and really easy to talk to. Sure she was nervous talking to him, but who wouldn’t? The guy was super cute and so nice to her, she already knew she’d be crushing hard.
Thirty minutes later, she was on her way to class with time to go to her favorite coffee shop and have a quick breakfast.
Charlie: Didn’t think you’d answer me so early hahaha Y/N: I have a class in like 20 minutes, wouldn’t have woken up this early if i didn’t have class lol Charlie: So you’re not a morning person Y/N: Oh no, absolutely not!!
She smiled at the boy in the cashier and laughed softly when he asked her if she was ordering the same thing she always did.
“Oh, can you add a brownie please?” Y/N asked politely, while she looked for her card on her bag. After paying for her food, she went to one of the tables in the back.
Charlie: Noted! I swear i try to not wake up early but i can’t Y/N: I bet you’re the kind of friend that wakes everyone up with a lot of noise Charlie: How did ya know that hahahaha Y/N: I was just guessing, but you do seem like a loud person Charlie: I am, i won’t try to deny it Charlie: What about you?? Y/N: Mmm Y/N: It depends Y/N: But my laugh is extra loud, so I can’t say I’m a quiet girl
“Vanilla latte!” Y/N put away her phone and stood up to get her order.
“Thanks, Dylan,” she thanked the boy and grabbed a few napkins before making her way back to her table.
Charlie: I bet your laugh is really cute
Her cheeks were burning after that message, and it took her a couple of minutes to tame the butterflies in her stomach before she was able to type a response. Because as much as she wanted to laugh it off and change the topic, she knew he was flirting with her and if she didn’t flirt back, their conversation was basically dead.
Y/N: Guess you’ll have to find out yourself ;).
That was a nice reply, right? She screenshotted their chat and sent it to Jo. If anyone knew how to flirt while texting, it was her best friend.
Y/N: How does it look? Is it too much?? Too little?? Y/N: H E L P
Jo’s response was quick as always. One of the many reasons she loved her.
Jo: Girl it’s fine Jo: Stop worrying about it Jo: It’s mysterious and a good way to tell him you wanna FaceTime Y/N: Ok ok thank you love ya Jo: Love you more
Checking the hour on her phone, Y/N finished her bagel and gathered her stuff. She waved Dylan goodbye and left the coffee shop. She spent more time than she expected to in there and if she didn’t hurry she’d be late for class.
It was times like this one that made her regret not knowing how to drive because even if all her classmates liked the Lyft program they had for free, she still felt unsafe getting in the car without a friend.
Back in the day, when she was still dating Lance, he’d made sure to call her and talk to her during the whole ride to wherever Y/N needed to go just to make her feel safe. After all, he was never a bad boyfriend, their paths just went in different ways and they both wanted different things in life.
Charlie: Yeah i guess Charlie: What if i call you later when you’re done with your classes??Charlie: No pressure
She could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks for the second time in less than an hour and had to bite her lip to stop herself from smiling.
Y/N: Sure, i’ll let you know once i’m done Y/N: But i have to say bye for now Y/N: Gotta pay attention haha Charlie: Get that degree! Charlie: Talk to you later!
Focusing on whatever her professor was saying was a hard task, she just wanted to pull her phone out and text Charlie, see what he was up to and get home as soon as possible, so they could FaceTime.
Sitting on the edge of her seat, she couldn’t help but bounce her leg to relieve the eagerness rushing through her veins. She still had fifteen minutes left, and then she’d be sprinting out of the classroom and going back to her apartment.
“Dude, do you gotta use the bathroom or what?” Sadie, the girl she always sat with during class, whispered through gritted teeth.
“Sorry,” she apologized, crossing her legs to stop herself from bouncing her leg. Although the new position didn’t stop her from moving her foot.
“What’s up with you?” Sadie snorted once she realized Y/N couldn’t sit still.
“Nothing,” she replied quickly, scribbling on her notebook the pages she needed to read for the next class, “I just wanna go home.”
“But you have never been this eager to leave this class,” the girl commented without looking at her, too focused on taking notes, “you love this class.”
“I don’t know,” Y/N let out a sigh and checked the hour on her watch, “I just don’t feel like sitting here right now.”
Her classmate didn’t make another comment about her eagerness to leave the classroom, she just nodded her head as if she was telling her she understood.
“I think that’s all for today, guys,” the professor mentioned, leaning on the desk, “have a good day, and don’t forget to read the articles I mentioned.”
Y/N hurried to gather her things and waved Sadie goodbye before walking as fast as she could to the door. She needed to leave before the halls flooded with students. Y/N considered taking the stairs instead of the elevator but knowing how clumsy she could be, she opted for the latter. Falling down the stairs wasn’t on her plans.
Twenty minutes and a mile later, she dropped her keys on the bowl next to the door of her apartment and kicked off her shoes. She checked her out in the full-length mirror Jo had in their living room and shrugged. Charlie knew she was a college student, and it wouldn’t be weird to see her wearing a hoodie with her college’s logo, also, she was comfy and didn’t want to change into something else.
She fixed her hair and made sure she didn’t have smudged mascara under her eyes and then made herself comfortable on the couch.
Y/N: Just made it home
Y/N: That was one hell of a long class haha
She bit her nails, the nervousness kicking in while she waited for a response from Charlie. Maybe he was busy now that she wasn’t. God if their schedules didn’t let them at least FaceTime, she felt like she’d start crying and delete the app. It wasn’t like she was talking to other guys though.
Charlie: Finally!! Charlie: Wanna FaceTime?? Or are you tired?
“Fuck no,” she whispered to herself before she started writing her reply.
Y/N: Nah! Let's FaceTime
Her heart started pounding on her chest when the video call entered and the phone started vibrating in her hand.
“Shit, shit, shit,” she cursed before putting a smile on her face and answering the call. “Hey!”
Holy shit. His pictures didn’t make him justice.
“How you doin’?” Charlie said and her cheeks blushed.
“It’s that a Friends reference?” she asked trying to hide her smile.
“I swear I don’t mean it in that way,” he laughed, and the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled made her heart flutter. “But seriously, how was your day?”
“It was good even though I hate waking up early,” the way Charlie was looking at her with so much attention, even if it was through a screen it made her feel so confident, “I had breakfast at this little coffee shop near my apartment and then went to class.”
“But that sounds like a nice morning,” Charlie mentioned, his sweet smile never leaving his face.
“What were you up to anyway?”
“Not much actually,” he shrugged and the gesture made him look young, “I went for a run, then I had to film some tapes for a few auditions, and now I’m chilling.”
“You’re an actor,” Y/N pointed out, not even surprised about the new information he just revealed. It was Los Angeles after all.
“I am,” he smiled, and she swore she could see a pink tint on his cheeks, “I started back in Canada when I was about fourteen or fifteen.”
“Any chances I’ve watched it?” Charlie scrunched his nose and shook his head.
“Maybe, if you are into foreign films,” Y/N tilted her head confused at his answer, “It’s in French.”
“You learned how to speak in French for the movie?” Y/N furrowed her eyebrows together when Charlie started laughing.
“I grew up speaking French and English,” he explained with a soft smile, “I’m French Canadian.”
“That makes a lot more sense now,” she laughed off her embarrassment, “I’m gonna blame the fact that I woke up early today. I’m not this dumb, I swear.”
“Don’t worry,” he said and the smile faded just enough for her to notice his intense stare, “I thought it was cute.”
She bit her lip at his words and tried to look away from the screen, but Charlie’s eye contact felt as if he was looking right into her soul and she couldn’t break that connection even if she wanted to. And she definitely didn’t want to do that.
Assuage: Chapter 5
Yoongi x Reader
Genre: ABO (Alpha/Beta/Omega) dynamics, angst, fluff, smut, enemies to lovers
Warnings: A snake attack (nothing too, too descriptive though), an injured child
Author’s Note: This part is relatively shorter than the last few BUT it’s all for reasons and chapter 6 will be extra long to make up for it! Hope you guys enjoy it!
Once Yoongi allowed himself to become comfortable within the pack, it scared him just how easy it was for him to assimilate and truly feel comfortable there.
Working at the hardware shop with Kibum was going great, and Yoongi had even managed to design and create his own furniture to fill his cabin up with. Yoongi had also started to slowly open up to the other members of the pack, spending more time with both Hobi and Jungkook especially since they were fellow Alphas. Taehyung was undeniably his closest friend though, and if Yoongi was being honest, he came to be extremely grateful for how the Beta had taken him under his wing and convinced him to stay.
As for you, Yoongi honestly didn’t see you around much. Per Taehyung’s explanation, you were often busy as Pack Physician and never really had much free time. Although Yoongi didn’t miss arguing with you, he had to admit that he had gotten used to you always being around so the absence of your presence was noted. He didn’t admit that to Taehyung though, especially after Taehyung had teased him and asked “Why do you care where my sister is, hyung?”
One particular day, Yoongi was hanging out in his cabin, attempting to figure out what was the best way to arrange the living room area when there was a knock on his door. Walking over to it and pulling it open, he was surprised to see Hobi and Jungkook standing on the steps.
“Hey hyung,” Hobi smiled.
“Hi hyung,” Jungkook echoed.
“Hey, what are you two doing here?” Yoongi wondered as he leaned against the door.
“We came to ask you if you wanted to come hunting with us,” Jungkook said excitedly.
“If you aren’t busy,” Hobi added.
“I’m free,” Yoongi nodded. “I don’t have a shift at the hardware shop today.”
“Well, let’s go,” Jungkook smiled. After quickly changing into some looser clothes, Yoongi locked up his cabin before following behind Hobi and Jungkook as they led the way into the forest that surrounded the pack’s territory.
However, as soon as they made it deep enough into the forest where they couldn’t see the cluster of cabins and buildings anymore, all three of them froze in their places.
“You smell that?” Jungkook murmured.
“It’s snakes,” Hobi answered.
“Yeah, but there’s something else there,” Jungkook shook his head. The three of them continued to stand there, sniffing the air and all of a sudden, the realization hit Yoongi.
“It’s fear,” he whispered. “Someone’s in trouble.”
“What? Who?” Jungkook tried to say but Yoongi had already ran off, sprinting towards the scent. The closer that he got to the scent, the sound of screaming got louder and louder and his eyes widened when he realized what was happening.
There was a little boy in a small clearing, terror clear on his face as he laid on the ground. When Yoongi looked down, his breath caught in his throat when he saw a snake wrapped around the boy’s legs.
“Hey hey,” Yoongi spoke up and the boy’s head whipped around to look at him.
“Please, please help me!” The boy pleaded and Yoongi nodded his head.
“I am, but I need you to try and calm down,” Yoongi instructed him softly, slowly moving closer to them. “I know you’re scared, but it’s very important that you listen to me.”
“O-ok,” the boy nodded, willing his body to stay still even though Yoongi could see his limbs still shaking.
“Holy shit,” Yoongi heard Hobi gasp but he kept moving, creeping in front of the boy so that the snake couldn’t see him. Waiting a few moments in order to make sure that the snake didn’t hear him, he leapt forward, grabbing ahold of the snake’s mouth and pulling it off of the boy’s legs. Yoongi then made quick work of killing the snake, letting it fall from his hands and onto the ground once he was done.
“Are you ok, little one?” Jungkook asked the boy as he helped him up but the little boy didn’t answer him, instead choosing to run right over to Yoongi and clutch onto his pants leg as he sobbed harshly.
“Hey, it’s ok,” Yoongi whispered softly as he bent down and picked the boy up, settling him on his hip. “You’re alright now.”
“I-I d-d-didn’t mean to,” the boy sobbed and Yoongi just shushed him as he lightly bounced him in his arms.
“I’m sure you didn’t, and it wasn’t your fault,” Yoongi assured him. “Can you tell me your name, little pup?”
“Ch-Chan,” the boy replied.
“Ok Chan, I’m Yoongi,” Yoongi introduced himself. “I’m gonna take you to the infirmary cabin so that we can get you checked out, ok?”
“Ok,” Chan nodded.
“We’ll go find his parents and let them know,” Hobi offered and Yoongi smiled gratefully before walking off towards the infirmary.
......................
“Yoongi?” You called as you walked into the examination where Yoongi and Chan had been waiting. “The receptionist told me that you brought a pup in.”
“Yeah. Jungkook, Hobi, and I were out about to hunt and we found this little one with a snake wrapped around his legs,” Yoongi explained, making your eyes widened.
“Are you serious?” You gasped, quickly walking over to the pup and bending down, immediately looking over his legs and checking for injuries.
“I think I managed to get to him before any real damage could be done, but I thought I’d bring him here so that you could check for sure,” Yoongi said and you nodded your head.
“Good call,” you murmured. “Well, it doesn’t look like the snake was able to bite him so there shouldn’t be any venom in him. It must’ve been super scary though, huh?”
“Really scary,” Chan agreed softly, making you coo at him.
“It’s ok Chan, you’re safe now,” you reminded him, taking ahold of one of his hands and lightly rubbing the inside of his wrist where his scent gland was. Your scent of white peaches and oranges began to fill the air, and Yoongi couldn’t help but to notice how...relaxing it was. It was almost like being in a warm room, while also being soothing at the same time.
“Mr. Yoongi was like a superhero,” Chan told you as you continued to scent him.
“Yeah?” You smiled softly as you looked up at Chan. “I guess it was a good thing that Yoongi was there then, huh?”
Just then, the door to the examination room burst open and a man and a woman rushed inside.
“Oh my gosh, Chan,” a woman sighed heavily, sprinting over and scooping Chan up into her arms.
“Is he ok, Y/N-ah?” The man asked as he turned to face you.
“From the looks of it, yes,” you answered. “I think he’s just more shaken up than anything else.”
“Channie, didn’t we tell you about going out into the forest by yourself?” The woman lightly scolded him and Yoongi could tell by her scent that she was an Alpha.
“I just wanted to pick some flowers to give to Teacher Jimin,” Chan pouted.
“We know buddy, but you have to tell someone where you’re going,” the man added, his calming scent letting Yoongi know that he was an Omega. “What if Yoongi-ssi, Jungkook-ssi, and Hoseok-ssi hadn’t found you? We wouldn’t have known what happened to you.”
“I’m sorry,” Chan apologized and the woman just sighed before hugging him tighter to her chest.
“Thank you so much for saving our son Yoongi-ssi,” the man said as he turned to look at Yoongi. “I don’t even wanna think about what might’ve happened if you hadn’t found him.”
“It’s really no problem,” Yoongi shrugged.
“I’m Kyung and this is my mate and Chan’s mother, Soo Jung,” Kyung told him.
“Nice to meet you,” Yoongi nodded.
“Well, even though I’m sure he’s fine, I still want to do some tests on him just to make sure,” you interjected, and both Kyung and Soo Jung nodded in agreement.
“I’ll leave you guys to it,” Yoongi said before looking down at Chan. “You’ll be a little bit more careful from now on, right pup?”
“Right! Chan chirped, making Yoongi smile.
“Good. I’ll see you guys around.”
“Thank you again Yoongi-ssi,” Soo Jung spoke up.
“No need,” Yoongi waved his hand dismissively before turning around and opening the door, stepping out and shutting the door behind him. Just as he made it down the hall and was about to step out of the front door, he heard you calling his name.
“Yoongi!” You called out, rushing down the hall towards him.
“Yeah?” He wondered as he turned to look at you.
“I just wanted to tell you that it was really cool of you to help Chan,” you told him.
“It wasn’t an issue Y/N,” he chuckled.
“But still, you’re new to the pack and you’re not necessarily bound by the obligation of having to take care of packmates like we are,” you said.
“Well, I kind of am, since I decided to stay,” Yoongi pointed out. “Besides, he’s just a pup who didn’t know any better.”
“Well let me tell you, this isn’t the first time that Chan has ended up in the infirmary because he’s just too curious for his own good,” you giggled.
“That probably explains why you were so good at dealing with him, huh?” Yoongi guessed and you shrugged your shoulders.
“It’s a part of my job,” you replied. “Especially living in an area surrounded by woods, you tend to treat a lot of pups for small injuries. I have to say though, the snake thing was a first.”
“I bet,” Yoongi chuckled. An awkward silence fell over the two of you again, the both of you just looking at each other for a few seconds.
“Well, I better get back to Chan,” you said. “Poor Soo Jung is probably going crazy out of her mind by now.”
“Yeah, sure. See you around,” Yoongi said.
“See you,” you nodded before turning around and walking back down the hall. Yoongi then pushed open the door to the infirmary and stepped outside, the lingering scent of white peaches and oranges wrapping around him like a warm hug.
Wrong Place, Right Time
TMNT x (Gender Neutral) Reader (Non-romantic) Synopsis: Reader goes into an abandoned building to find their dog, and ends up finding a lot more than their dog. Rating: Teen Genre: Action/Thriller Pairings: None Content Warnings: The dog is in danger for some of it (but isn’t actually hurt) Other Tags: Funny, Combat, Short Story, Fanfiction, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Shredder
When you left your apartment that night, you had no way of knowing how unprepared you were for the events that would unfold. Armed with a flashlight and a roll of doggy bags you and your dog Cody had slipped out into the fresh, cool night air. You also brought a can of bear mace in case you ran into any creeps. Bear mace wouldn't have necessarily been your first choice, but it was leftover from the time you went camping and you wanted to put it to good use.
The dog was just happily sniffing around and relieving himself when he suddenly stiffened up. Following his gaze, your eyes landed on a cat. The cat was happily strutting across the street, unperturbed by the dog even as he began barking hatefully and straining against the leash. You held your grip and started pulling him back the way you had come. But he turned around, dug his heels in and managed to pull out of the collar.
The cat suddenly noticed it was in danger and darted around, looking for a place to hide. Cody followed the cat in circles around a parked car, then he chased it around the corner.
You ran after him, "Cody! Get back here!"
You were half angry, and half worried that he would run out into the street in front of a car. Instead, when you rounded the corner, he was wriggling his way into a boarded up building. His tail disappeared through the space in the boards just as you leapt forward to grab him.
"Cody! NO! Get back here, now!" You said, using your best angry parent voice.
But Cody was on a mission to find that cat. You knew that he would be single-minded until he found what he was looking for. It might have been admirable if you were coon hunting together out in the countryside, or something. Instead, it was annoying because you were on an evening walk in the middle of Manhattan.
You groaned in exasperation and looked up at the building. It was an old apartment building or something, a rough brick structure that was 5 stories high. The windows were mostly boarded up, and the ones that weren't were missing their glass. There were no lights on inside. It didn't look like anyone had been here for a long time. At least, nobody you wanted to run into...
And nobody you wanted your dog to run into either! Your protective instinct kicked in. You called through the hole to him for another 30 seconds. When he didn't reappear, you started looking around for a way in.
In the alley where you were standing, there were lots of bits of metal and you took a second to poke through them and find a good one. First you found a weird, 3-pronged dagger of some kind, which you tucked into your belt. Maybe you could use it for protection in case somebody dangerous was squatting in there. (Although, if you were being honest, you mostly kept it because you thought it looked cool.) Then you found a metal rod that seemed sturdy enough to work as a crowbar. In no time, you were squeezing through a gap you had made in the boards covering the doorway.
After clicking on your flashlight, you noticed that you were standing in an old lobby. There was a torn up spot on the floor where the front desk had obviously once been affixed. The wallpaper was peeling. The hardwood floors, which had probably been gorgeous when they were kept up, were covered in a thick layer of dust. Cobwebs were hanging in the corners and doorways, with their own gathering of dust.
You followed the sounds of Cody's feet skittering against the floors.
"Cody!" You whispered harshly, creeping towards him. If there were any questionable people around, you didn't want them hearing you guys. Luckily Cody wasn't raising hell yet, which told you that he must have lost track of the cat.
You spotted him at the end of a hallway.
"Cody, c'mere," You called, sweetly.
He looked you dead in the face and then turned and walked through a doorway into pitch black nothingness.
What. A. Brat.
Gazing down the stairway, you wanted to cry so bad. That damn dog had just run down into what must be the basement. You stood at the top, feeling sorry for yourself, trying to see down the steps. After a minute you realized that it wasn't actually pitch black. There was some kind of light that was dimly illuminating the bottom of the steps.
Gathering every last ounce of courage, you made your way down the steps. Every step creaked horribly, and with each one, you felt certain that your foot was about to sink through rotten wood. A dank smell invaded your nostrils more as you descended. How long did you have to breath black mold in before it would make you sick, anyway?
Once you reached the bottom of the stairs, you found that you were standing in a hallway. The floor here was even more dirty than the ground floor above. There was garbage piled all over the place. If anyone had ever squatted in this building, you were willing to bet that they'd done it here in this basement level.
A voice sounded from down the hallway. Your head snapped towards it in alarm, but after a few seconds it was clear it wasn't directed at you. It had come from a doorway at the very end of the hall which was slightly ajar, pale blue light spilling from it. You fought the urge to sprint back up the stairs and instead crept down the hall towards the voice. You tucked the metal rod into your belt and pulled out the strange dagger, ready to strike if someone suddenly rushed out at you. The voice was speaking again.
"...think you can defy me, turtles, but once again I've proven you wrong."
"You're not gonna get away with this, Shredder!" A second voice, female this time. She sounded scared. What were you walking into? You felt strangely numb as you continued to move forward, your heart pounding.
"I already have. Look at them! Once I have what I need, I'll dispose of you all," It was a deep, rich voice with a cold fury beneath.
"And then what? You took the mutagen out of our blood when we fought you years ago. So what could you possibly want with our blood this time?" Another male voice countered, sounding calm, but angry.
"Th-that's right! Our blood is free of mutagen, you can't use it to mutate anybody!" Another, nervous-sounding male voice agreed.
You reached the doorway and peered around the doorframe very slowly...
Within the room was some kind of makeshift laboratory. One bulb hung from the ceiling, casting the whole scene in harsh bright light. Several figures were visible in the large room. The first one that caught your attention was the huge figure in the center of the room. It looked like a man wearing a thick, heavy suit of strange armor. The armor had lots of sharp angles and spikes on it. You couldn't see anything else about him because he was silhouetted against the harshly-lit room. He was facing two figures who were lying on the floor.
One of the people on the floor was the woman. She had dark hair and eyes and was wearing a yellow jacket. Her hands were bound and she was glaring hatefully at the armored man. Next to her was another man. He wasn't talking, and he was lying very still... Was he ok? Or was he...?
You didn't finish that thought because you caught sight of four... somethings against the far wall.
They were... turtles, you guessed. But they weren't like any turtles you had ever seen. They were tall and buff with humanoid faces and bodies. Each was wearing a different colored mask, as well as various gear. They were strung up against the wall by lots and lots of chains. There was some kind of machinery connected to them, but it was hard to make out what it all was from this far away.
The spikey man- what had she called him? Shredder? He was speaking again, "I don't need to mutate anybody. All I need is your DNA, and I will have an unstoppable army."
"He's cracked, you guys," A new voice. It was gruff, and it came from the largest turtle, who was wearing a red mask.
"Oh no... I-I think I know what he's talking about!" The nervous voice was coming from the tallest one, in the purple mask, "He wants to clone us!"
"Is that true?!" The orange one finally spoke up, "Man, you can't make another Michelangelo! I'm the one and only!
"Stockman, how much longer before they're drained?" Shredder interrupted.
You nearly jumped out of your skin as an answer sounded out from very close to you.
"Another 2 hours, Mr. Shredder!"
"Why must it take so long?" Shredder asked, threateningly.
"W-well... We only had so much equipment..." Stockman defended, "I mean, there are ways of removing it faster, if you catch my drift. But if you want a clean, untainted sample, this is the best way to go!"
"Hmm... Very well." Shredder agreed after a moment.
You were now pressed against the wall just outside of the door, clutching your chest. That Stockman guy had been no more than 4 feet from you just inside the door! He was against the wall that you couldn't see, though, so you hadn't noticed him.
Stockman was talking again, more to himself, "Aw man... That cat got in again..."
A soft growling sounded from within the room. Oh god. Cody.
"What the..." Stockman started and then yelped, "HEY!"
His chair clattered to the ground as Cody's chorus of barks started up. You rushed back to the door and were frozen to the spot as you watched the scene unfold. It was utter chaos as Cody tore around the room after the cat, which was leaping around on the equipment and furniture. Cody managed to knock over 2 chairs, jump up on a table, and upset several important-looking instruments before he was caught around the neck by the monstrous man's hand. Cody's high-pitched cries snapped you out of it.
"STOP!" You hurled yourself forward. Everything in the room seemed to stop in time. All eyes settled on you and every face held surprise. Shredder's helmeted head turned towards you, observing as you sprinted toward him. You had the dagger drawn back with the intent to jam it into the metal of his stupid, shiney armor.
You didn't even feel it when he swatted you away like a fly. All you noticed was that suddenly you were flying backwards. You quickly sprung back to your feet. Your skin felt electric as adrenaline coursed through your body. There was a throbbing feeling in your face where he had struck you. The strange dagger had skittered out of your hands.
Cody was no longer in his grip, that was the good news. The bad news was that now you were getting an up close and personal look at this Shredder guy. You could see every facet of the armor from here. The most striking part was the helmet, which resembled a leering skull.
You wondered what his face looked like behind the helmet. Did he look as surprised as everyone else? His voice didn't betray any surprise, only amusement.
“Well, well, well, look what we have here... A new hero, come to save the world. Such a pity you’ll have to die."
You tried to keep your voice steady as you explained, “Look man, I don’t know what you’re talking about- I’m just here for my dog!”
"Really, turtles, is this weakling the only ally you have left?"
None of them answered. They were still staring at you and glancing at one another, like they were trying to figure out if they knew you from somewhere. This was getting awkward.
"No, really, I don't know them," You insisted.
"Is that so? Well, then, how do you explain that." He lifted one of his huge metallic arms. It took you a second to realize he was pointing at your shirt. You looked down and gasped.
Save The Turtles was emblazoned across your chest in bright green letters, complete with a cute little cartoon rendering of a turtle.
God damn it. Of course you had chosen to wear the shirt you got from that time you volunteered at the turtle sanctuary.
"Uh- that's-!"
Before you could explain it to him, Shredder cut you off, "ENOUGH! Stockman, restrain this fool."
"ME? I'm not here to be your muscle!" Stockman sounded indignant.
Shredder was just throwing out another line about how weak you looked, and that restraining you would hardly require "muscle," when you darted around him and over to the far corner where Cody was cowering. You had to climb around some equipment that seemed to be collecting blood from the turtles. You were uncomfortable being so close to them, as you had yet to discern whether they were friendly or not.
"Hey, that's my staff!"
You looked up at the turtle with the purple mask. He was peering down at you through glasses that made his eyes look 3 times bigger than they actually were.
You glared at him, "No, that's my dog!"
"No, I mean that thing on your belt!"
Was he talking about the metal rod?
"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! DUCK, KID!" The one in the red mask was shouting.
You dropped instantly to the ground. A huge BANG! sounded from above and drywall rained down on you. There was a big piece of metal embedded in the wall where your head had just been. Cody scampered away, whimpering in fear.
"He's coming up behind you!"
You whirled around to find Shredder was advancing towards you. You glanced around for an escape, but you were boxed in by equipment.
Suddenly Shredder stopped dead in his tracks and whirled around. Stuck in his back was the dagger you had dropped. The girl in the yellow jacket was standing there, having plunged it into the battery pack on the back of his suit.
You stepped carefully out of the way of the equipment and cast around desperately for a way to help her.
"Quick! Use the staff!" The purple one called.
When you looked clueless, he clarified, "The thing on your belt!"
Oh, the rod! Great idea! You grabbed the rod, jumped on Shredder's back and started pummeling his helmeted head with the thing. This drew a chorus of complaints from the turtles.
"Aw MAN! C'mon, kid!"
"Duuuude, that's not funny! Kick his butt for real!"
Purple was fighting desperately to be heard over all the commotion. He sounded completely exasperated by this point, "No, I meant-! Press the button!"
What button? There were no buttons on the-! Oh, wait. There was a button on the rod. How had you missed that? You pressed your thumb down on small, red button. Instantly, both ends of the rod shot out, extending it by about 5 feet. In the process, it struck Shredder's helmet, launching it violently from the man's head. With a startled cry you toppled off of Shredder's back. The man rounded on you. You looked for the staff, but it had launched itself far out of reach.
"Now, I'm going to put an end to this little game," He said, and you could see the full extent of his fury on his face.
The four turtles were all shouting things and you couldn't make out any of it. All you could see was the hate in the man's eyes as he approached. His long black hair hung in his face untidily. He was panting and his lips were pulled back in an angry grimace. He looked like some kind of beast, like a lion, or like a...
"Bear!" You shouted suddenly. You tugged the bear mace out of the little pouch on your belt.
Shredder was towering over you now. He raised one of his bladed arms, poised to strike. Popping the top off, you raised the bear mace, pointed it at him, and pressed the switch.
Shredder was suddenly engulfed in a cloud of orange smoke. He roared and stumbled backwards. While he was distracted with that you scrambled to your feet. The woman was busy unlocking the chains that were trapping the turtles.
"Thanks, Angelcakes!" The one in orange said gratefully as he shrugged off all of the blood-collecting equipment.
He came over and stood next to you. You eyed him warily, but he was just looking at you with interest, "Hey, that was pretty rad how you stood up to Shredder like that! You pretty much ruled, even though you kinda-sorta... suck at fighting!"
Your pride had never been particularly tied to your fighting skills, so you just said, "Thanks. What's your name?"
"Michelangelo. But the ladies like to call me Mikey."
The two of you kept an eye on Shredder while the woman continued unlocking the turtles chains. You even sprayed a few more times in his direction when he got too close. Eventually he managed to rip the metal armor off of his hands so he could rub his burning eyes. Now he rounded on you again.
He looked truly out of his mind by this point, his blood red eyes were streaming and his face looked pinker than any face you had ever seen.
"Whoa... I think he's gonna-"
Before Mikey could finish, suddenly Shredder was charging at you. Mikey yanked you aside as someone barreled past you. The one with the red mask slammed into Shredder, colliding with him with the force of a refrigerator.
"Oh, shit! Is he ok??"
"You mean, Raphael? He's fine! He gets thrown into cars and stuff all the time," Mikey waved his hand dismissively.
Raphael rolled to his feet, pulling the dagger out of Shredder's back as he did so. He walked back to where you guys were standing, "Thanks for bringing one of my Sais, kid."
Things were kind of a blur from there. The turtles restrained the Shredder. The one with the blue mask was apparently the leader, and his name was Leonardo. He was on the phone with the chief of police. Wow... So your local police department was cool with these turtle ninjas? Who would have thought... Maybe your uncle's conspiracy theory about reptiles controlling the government wasn't totally crazy.
Donatello, the one with the purple mask, was attending to the man who had been lying on the ground when you came in. The man's name was Casey, and he wasn't dead as you had previously thought. He did have a pretty nasty concussion, though, and kept repeating the same phrases over and over (A common symptom with concussions, Donatello told you).
Don also took a look at your own injuries while he was at it. Your face was beginning to swell from where Shredder had struck you, and you would be sporting a nasty-looking bruise for a while. Other than that, you would be just fine.
After everything was said and done, and you had talked to the police, and Shredder had been loaded into an armored vehicle and hauled away, you and Cody were finally leaving to go home. You were back in the cool night air, walking your dog on his leash. You wondered if Cody would think twice about chasing a cat next time, or if the whole event had gone over his head? He definitely didn't look like he cared that he had just been in life-threatening danger.
Before you could ponder it much more, the brothers suddenly appeared around you.
"Heeeyyy, let us walk you home!" Leo offered aggressively.
"No, that's ok! You don't have to!" You really just wanted to be left alone now.
"We insist." The grin on Leo's face looked mostly threatening.
Leo threw his arm around your shoulder, as if to make sure you wouldn't run away, and started practically dragging you along.
They took you on the coolest shortcut you had ever been on. You scaled buildings and leapt across rooftops. It was just like in Assassin's Creed! Of course, they had to carry both you and Cody the whole way like a couple of carry-on bags.
When they set you down finally, you were in the alley next to your apartment building.
"Thanks guys," You said, "But how the hell did you find out where I lived?" You hadn't ever given them any directions.
"I have my ways..." Donatello said. He adjusted his glasses and they glinted dramatically like in an anime.
They were all kind of staring at you in a vaguely menacing way, "Uh... Are ya'll gonna... kill me because I know too much or something?"
"What the-! Of course not!" Donnie yelled.
"Hey, relax, buddy! We're not those kind of ninjas!" Mikey laughed, "That's not how we handle people who know too much!"
"Not any more, at least..." Raph said, narrowing his eyes at you, "The chief said it was too messy to keep covering it up."
You gulped nervously.
"Raph! Don't tell people things like that!" Leo shoved him and turned back to you, "Don't worry, he's joking. YOU'RE JOKING, RIGHT RAPH?"
"I'M JOKING. JESUS CHRIST!" Raph yelled back, "Just, don't go runnin' your mouth about us, aight?"
The leader in blue leaned in uncomfortably close to stare into your eyes, "If you say anything about us, we will come back to see you..."
"Aaaand PUNISH YOU," Mikey added, "In a gentle, non life-threatening way!"
You put up your arms defensively, "Trust me, I am not telling anyone that I fought some kind of terminator samurai to save my dog and some turtles."
You thought you saw a twitch at the corner of his mouth before he straightened up and lead his brothers away. They scaled the walls of the surrounding buildings with ease, and then they had vanished just like that.
============================
Will you ever see them again? Would you LIKE to see them again? I hope so because I have a lot of ideas for this series.
Thanks for reading, ya’ll. It’s the first story I have finished in ages and it feels good to be back.
I’m Sorry
Pair: Ron Weasley x Reader; he/him.
Summary: You hate Ron, Ron hates you. Pretty simple. It only becomes complicated when the bloke says something about your cologne in Potions class.
Warnings: Swearing, insults, fighting.
Notes: Requested! Probably my favorite so far? I don't own the gif, I just couldn't find it in the suggestions-
~DO NOT REPOST ANYWHERE~
-
The rule of thumb that everyone in Gryffindor gets along is far from true when it comes to you and Ronald Bilius Weasley. You guys clashed harder than the titanic and that iceberg. Honestly, no one remembered how it started, but they could remember the insults thrown back and forth. You didn’t exactly hide your hatred for the red-head and he was the same.
The two of you would fight deep into the night, effectively keeping up the whole tower with your insults and burns ringing in the empty common room. When fellow Gryffindors saw you two starting to get in a heated argument, most fled to avoid the damage. Sometimes it came to blows, leading to Fred and George or Hermione and Harry splitting you two apart, but it was mostly the older twins.
You two don’t even remember why you hate each other, at this point, you just do. At least, that’s what you told yourself every time you caught yourself staring at him from across the library or when you’d shove into him in the hallway. His smile was softer than freshly fallen snow and his eyes could rival the ocean with their beauty. You had absolutely no clue he was battling the same feelings.
Ron wished you would smile sweetly at him instead of sneering insults that made him want to hex you into next Tuesday. He wanted to hold your hand instead of get hit by it, but he figured this was best. He did start this. He was the one that turned cold toward you on the train one random year to avoid his feelings for you.
Today was one of the tenser days where you and Ron were inches from ending each other's blood lines. Everyone in the tower could already feel it and you weren’t even in the same room yet. You’d woken up a little bit later than usual all because of your Scream Off™ with the short Weasley the night before. You walked down the stairs of the boys dormitory, your hand running through your messy hair. Insults from the night before rang in your head like a bell.
“What did I do to deserve being trapped with the human embodiment of ginger ale?”
“Since when do you know things? I thought your brain was filled with cobwebs and moth balls?”
“We both know your face looks prettier after my fist has kissed it.”
It made your stomach twist with guilt, but the guilt melted into pure hatred when a cocky voice rang through the common room. You wanted to knock his lights out before your foot even hit the last step of the staircase.
“Finally awake, eh, (L/n)? Only took forever, lazy arse.” Ron was snickering on the main couch right in front of the fireplace. The atmosphere in the common room immediately shifted. You rolled your eyes as you walked up to the couch, standing right behind him.
“Shut it, Weasley.” You grabbed his hair, forcing his head back to look at your glare. “I hope you fall off a broom during Quidditch today.” Your voice was laced with a false sweetness. Your glare shifted to a dark smirk before jerking his head forward. After letting go of his hair, you walked past him, flipping him off. “Good morning Granger. Have a good game, Potter!” You smiled and waved goodbye after they said good morning and a quick thanks.
You got along perfectly with 2/3 of the Golden Trio. They were always polite to you, even if you would throw hands at their best friend. They didn’t play favorites though, which was nice. If one of you started the fight, they’d make it known when they broke it up.
“Oi! Don’t be a basta-!” Ron stood up quickly, going to run after you as you left, but was stopped by Harry’s hand pulling him back down onto the couch. “Ronald! Not today, please!” Hermione spoke up, rubbing her temples. “We already have to deal with Slughorn. I’d rather not also have to deal with your pathetic excuse for flirting.” She sighed out. Poor girl already had a headache and it wasn’t even 10 oclock.
Ron crossed his arms over his chest, his face heating up some. He cringed at the mere thought of finding you romantically attractive… Ok, he would admit you did have a nice ass, but not out loud.
“I’m not flirting. I hate his guts, Mione.”
“Yeah, sure.”
“I’m serious! How could anyone find that twat even remotely attractive or adorable? He’s the bloody worst!”
Harry and Hermione shared a look before turning back to Ron. Harry and Hermione both knew better than that, this was a classic Enimies-To-Lovers scenario, at least that’s what they hoped, if not.. This was going to be a long, long, long year.
“No one said anything about him being adorable OR attractive, Ron.”
“Sod off, Harry, I know it was implied. You both know what I mean anyway.” Ron stood up, heading for the portrait hole.
“Where are you going?” Hermione groaned out. Her headache just got worse. “To get payback for the hairs that git ripped out.”
-
Ron walked down the hallways of the castle. He was so determined to find you he skipped breakfast, leading the remaining additions of the Golden Trio to come hunt him down. With some help from the older Weasley Twins, they managed to catch up with him pretty easily. Getting him to go to class, however, was a lot harder. Ron looked between his friends, then his brothers standing behind them for reinforcement. The keeper wasn’t moving an inch, not without seeing you first.
“No.”
“Ronald-”
“No, don’t Ronald me!”
“Ron! Come on! We have to go to potions in less than 5 minutes!”
“No! I’m just going to end up sitting next to that git and his stupid attitude the entire class! It’s going to be worse torture than seeing Snape everyday.” Ron crossed his arms over his chest. “Besides, my fist has a date with his lips and I’m not going anywhere until that date happens!”
“He was at breakfast, you missed him. You can fight him after potions. Can we go to class now?” Harry tried to reason with the hot-headed idiot, but alas, nothing is ever that easy. He groaned when Ron shook his head no, causing the twins to step into the picture. If anyone could get him to go somewhere, it was them.
“Wow, Hermione, you're right.” Fred started, turning to his twin.
“He’s got it bad and he doesn’t even know it yet.” George finished, while Fred shook his head in dismay and muttered a quick ‘shame’.
“I do not, nor will I ever, like him. Ok? Get that into your thick skulls!”
“No one believes you, Ickle Ronniekins! In fact, most of Gryffindor Tower has a bet that you two will end up shagging in some broom closet in less than a week!” George stated while he rested his arm on his brother's shoulder.
“What?!” Ron’s face was turning pink again. “No! Ew!” Ron faked a few gags. “No! That would never happen!”
“Hey, if you don’t want him, can I have him? I’d love to see how he’d look on his kne-”
“OK! I’LL GO TO CLASS IF YOU SHUT UP-” Ron didn’t hesitate to cover his ears or turn briskly on his heels. The red-head hurried in the direction he came from, his two classmates following after him who both called out a thank you to the mischief masters. “Godric, why’d you ask them for help? Now I have that gross image in my head.”
“We both knew it’d be the only way to get you to Potions. Now hurry up! I’d rather not be late!” Hermione grabbed her friends wrists and dragged them down the intermixing hallways until they stood right outside the classroom, only then did she let go. Harry handed Ron his potions textbook while Hermione patted down her hair and walked in, trying to act like she didn’t just sprint across the school.
The two boys looked at each other, one rolling his eyes while the other snickered before walking in after her. The snickering red-head paused when he walked in, getting hit with a strong smell of mixed berries and fruit, almost like shampoo. He actually didn’t hate it, in fact, it made his heart beat a little faster. It was familiar. The idea had Ron lagging behind his friends.
Once he joined the crowd in the back of the classroom and stood beside his friend at the edge of the crowd, did he notice the scent almost shift. It was your cologne. It made him gag with how powerful it was. Godric, did you pour an entire bottle of cologne on you? It was literally making him feel sick. He was going to lose every marble he had if someone didn’t open a window for him.
When Slughorn began talking about today's lesson, it went in one of Ron’s ears only to travel out the other side. Your cologne was close to killing him and everyone was acting like it didn’t exist.
“Do you see (L/n)?” Ron whispered to Harry.
“He’s across the classroom, Ron, why?” Harry whispered back. The two continued to whisper over Slughorn. They’d end up asking Hermione for help anyway. “Worried about him?” Harry grinned until his friend jabbed him in the side with his elbow.
“No, just wondering so I can rag him on his shit cologne.” Ron made eye contact with you across the classroom. He stuck his tongue out when you discretely gave him the bird. “I’m so gonna beat his ass.”
“What? Ron, what cologne?”
“You can’t smell it?”
Harry was about to answer when he got interrupted by Slughorn abruptly asking everyone to take their seats and start the project. Neither of them noticed that pack of girls staring longingly at the bubbling cauldrons in front of them while they took their seats next to each other.
See, the thing that sucked the most about this is Slughorn was determined to make you and Ron basically best friends, so he stuck you at the Golden Trio’s table for the whole year, which led to more trouble than good. Luckily, he paired you up with Harry and Ron with Hermione so you didn’t ruin each other's faces or potions. However, today, the bickering began before you sat down.
“How’s your head feeling, Weasley?” You smirked, walking over with your brown side bag.
“How’s your shin feeling, (L/n)?” Before you could question what he meant, he kicked your leg before sitting down. You let out a grunt and sat down in your own seat before rubbing your now sore and most likely bruised leg.
“I can’t wait for this class to end so I can rip out more of your stupid ginger hair, Ginger Ale.” You pulled out your textbook and flipping to the page.
“Don’t bloody call me that, besides, why not just use that horrid cologne as pepper spray. With how much you wore today, it’s already doing the job for you.” Ron scowled at you from across the table, but his demeanor shifted ever so slightly when you dropped your quill and looked at him with wide eyes. He blinked a few times before looking around the room then behind him. “What?”
“Red, I.. You smell my cologne?” Your voice was filled to the brim with turmoil.
“So what if I do?” Ron’s face scrunched up with confusion.
“Have you heard of a potion called Amortentia?” You spoke up, covering your rapidly heating up face.
“A-amor- What?”
“Look, Red. Long story short, it’s a love potion. It’s strong enough to change love to obsession. It emits a smell that’s different for everyone and mimics the smell of your crush.” You looked at him between your fingers, seeing his confusion still so clear on his face.
“Ok.” Ron snorted. “What does that have to do with your shitty cheap cologne?”
“Weasley, mate, I know the cogs in your brain are super rusty, but just try to use ‘em ok?” You slammed your hands against the table as you spoke. “I’m not wearing my cologne today. I ran out last night. Slughorn had an open cauldron filled with Amortentia in class today.”
“S.. So what your saying is-” Ron’s brain was trying to process everything you’d said. He was still refusing to believe he loved, liked or tolerated you.
“You fancy me, you idiot.” You spoke up, louder than you intended.
Ron stared at you with wide eyes. His pale cheeks turned red, out of anger or embarrassment he wasn’t sure. He looked between Hermione and Harry before looking back at you.
“What? No I don’t. That’s ridiculous, borderline mental!”
“Then why did you smell my cologne?” You questioned, leaning over the table some. Ron went back to glaring at you, his arms crossing over the table.
“Probably because you're lying about having none.”
“Ok, say I was lying, Harry would smell it, yeah?”
“Yeah and I don’t smell anything besides the potions brewing.” Harry shrugged while Ron’s jaw dropped.
“Harry! Don’t encourage him!” Ron slammed his book shut, drawing more attention to the bickering table.
“I’m not encouraging anyone. Just being honest.”
“No, you know what? This is a load of bollocks! I do not like you, (L/n). In fact, I loathe you!” Ron stood up quickly, his stool tumbling to the ground with a bang. “I feel anything, literally anything except affection for you!”
You watched Ron storm out of the classroom and looked down at the table. You ignored the students and Slughorn staring at your table and, instead, focused on your bruised knuckles. Were you supposed to tell Ron you smelled his own stupid cologne, broom polish from Quidditch, chocolate frogs and hits of firework ash?
Before you knew it, you were running out of the classroom, ignoring the calls of your name. You spotted a glance of him rounding the corner and sprinted after it.
“Ron!” You called out, rounding the same corner. He turned around, his eyes narrowed. This was the first time he heard you say his first name and he wasn’t going to let his shock show through.
“What? Here to make fun of me? Well, go on. You’ll end up doing it anyway tonight. Don’t hold back now.” Ron’s hands balled up into fists.
“I’m not going to make fun of yo-”
“Yeah, and my hair isn’t red. Don’t bloody lie to me!”
“I’m being serio-”
“No, you aren’t!”
“Ok, you know what?” You stepped forward, grabbing a bunch of his shirt and slamming his back into a wall. He raised his fist to throw a punch, but your free hand caught his wrist. Before he could do anything else, your lips slammed against his.
He froze against the wall, his skull filling with emptiness at the feeling of your soft lips against his chapped ones. He couldn't stop the questions tumbling through his lips when you separated. He managed to stop when you pressed your forehead against his. The red-head didn’t have to strain his ears to hear your whisper in the empty hallway but shuddered when your hand threaded through his hair, gently massaging where you pulled earlier.
“I’m sorry..” You pulled back a tiny bit to look into his blue eyes, only now noticing the green flecks twinkling like stars in the night sky. “Does it still hurt?” Your voice was so soft it made his heart ache. He would’ve shaken his head, but didn’t want you to pull your hand away.
“No, it never really hurt.” Ron confessed, his shaky hands awkwardly landing on your waist.
“But you said-”
“I said a lot of things I didn’t mean..” Ron chewed on his bottom lip, his eyes dropping to your sneakers.
“Yeah, so did I.” You whispered awkwardly, just staring at the red-head against the wall. It was a good few minutes before you spoke up again. “Broom polish, earth and chocolate frogs..”
“What?”
“The um- the love potion.. That’s what I.. That’s what I got from it.”
“I’m co-”
“Ron, please. I smelled your cologne, the stupid sweets and your broom polish. Idiot.” You chuckled a little.
“Well excuse me, I haven't gotten my brain cogs oiled yet.” Ron smiled a little, desperate to hear more of your laugh. He mentally fist pumped the air when you did, in fact, laugh louder. “Seriously, though, I’m sorry.”
“So am I, Red.”
“Soooo..” Ron dragged out the o as he tapped his fingers along your waist. He gave you a lopsided grin as he continued. ”Should we go on a date or kiss more?”
“Why not both?” You leaned in again, stopping just before his lips.
“I like both.. We could go swimming in the Black Lake?” The pale boy grinned wider as his fingers tugged your shirt free from your trousers.
“Ron, it’s like 10 degrees outside- you just wanna see me shirtless!” You pecked his lips, chuckling when he faked a gasp, his hands now resting under your shirt..
“That is entirely not true, (L/n)! Where is your sense of adventure?”
“Not here, Weasley. I might’ve left it in the classroom, ya know, with my books since I had to chase your ass out here.”
“I’ll make it up to you.” It was Ron’s turn to kiss you.
“We have a lot to make to each other already. Let's just start at the basics.”
