Jus finished binging Crank It! I love Jayvik sm and I love how you draw them ,, I have three questions! One: Are characters like Heimerdinger humanized in this au or are they still their canon species :0 Two: Are we gonna see other Arcane characters like Jinx, Ekko, Vander, Silco, etc in Crank It? Three: (less Crank It related but still super important) how the HELL do you scrape together good refs for Jayce, Viktor, and others? 1) haha Heimerdinger is pretty hand wavy to me. When he does appear (usually in doodles), he’s just a tuft of hair at the bottom of the frame. He’s Viktor’s boss but he’s Jayce’s boss’ boss so he doesn’t make a ton of appearances so I will not worry about an answer lol

2) maybe!! Honestly, I picture like there’s this whole other story where Cait and Vi live their lives full of people while Jayce and Viktor are huddled in the dark playing video games and coding. I imagine if they do meet, it’s because they went on a double date with Cait and Vi and Vi mentioned it to Jinx so Jinx decides to crash and bring Ekko and since both daughters are going to be there, they should also go to the Last Drop too and at least get the hook up and see Vander and Silco. Viktor and Jayce are immediately overstimulated and overwhelmed with the amount of people.

3) I wish I had a better answer but I’m just forever lurking in the fan spaces and saving interesting screenshots I see posted OR just screaming into my friend group chat to see if anyone has a shot or has something from behind the scenes. I think Arcane in Detail on Twitter has a lot of good references available as well!! Sorry, wish I could be more help here!!! Anyone who can help, feel free to comment!!

Anyhow, it really is just such a dogshit decision to have Arcane be canon, all the way down. It's more work for Riot that they clearly don't have the resources to commit to, it doesn't contribute to a healthy lore-state, it pisses off existing fans, and Arcane fans won't even care because they already have Arcane itself! Like why would an Arcane fan give a shit about navigating to the league game lore to read Viktor's new bio, which is just a shitty summary of what happens in Arcane, when they can just, y'know, watch Arcane? And yeah it throws some major wrenches in the works, not just wrt Ambessa and Heimer like you mentioned, but also, Viktor as Herald of the Arcane is only actually Herald of the Arcane for like, an afternoon. Lol. Plus Cait isn't sheriff, etc. So I supposed they're going with this 0 timeline game-state where any character may be pulled from any point in their timeline which! Is fine, I Guess. But they really did Not have to do all that. and stupid to change it to given that (afaik) the current lore was mostly timeline-stable save for like. viego. who is Alive but in cryo or whatever

Probably the thing I think is the most bullshit is the way they claim this lore merger + the VGU's to bring featured champions to arcane canon was The Plan All Along -- which, no the fuck it wasn't? I forget where but some rioter said some shit about how Cait's ASU when Arcane s1 dropped was meant to do this and -- no it wasn't? no the fuck it wasn't? she wasn't even purple. she's not even a sheriff. Her ASU is clearly meant to honour her in-game state and you can't cite her as a reason for why Viktor gets the great Honour of being deleted.

what is your opinion on the scene where cait beats vi? cos i agree with most of your points about caitvi but at the same time i do think s2 was kinda rushed and some of caitvi issues were swept under the rug. would like to hear your opinion

i agree with you, s2 felt like 3 seasons crammed into 1. so some parts couldve been fleshed out better or lingered on for longer for a bigger emtional punch.

but i dont think caitlyn needed to get on her knees and explain how wrong she was to vi. that is fanfiction level writing (and not the good kind). hell, ive seen so many fics where caitlyn breaks into a monolog about how sorry she is she hurt vi and all her misdeeds and it feels so dumb. ooc for starters, and also just badly written. people dont talk like this. caitlyn doesnt talk like this. thank god they didnt do it in canon, some writing decisions were already bad enough.

for the most part, aside from the break neck pacing, i love the writing and decisions made with caitvi. they needed maybe 2 more scenes in act 3, just to breathe next to each other and make the developments between them seem more natural. also i deeply wished we got to see them fight together in ep 9, im seriously so bummed out about getting 0 caitvi fighting alongside each other other than episode 1!!! like what.

anyway, you wont find me complaining about "things they didnt address" in regards to caitlyn and vi. ive seen enough to understand caitlyn is remorseful and vi loves her too much to pretend to care (cause lets be real, vi doesnt give a shit about these things as people online seem to think). she wanted her caitlyn back, the girl she fell for in season 1, and that woman came back to her, making grand gestures and expecting nothing in return like she always has. there is a lot to expend upon with them but it can nicely fit in the realm of fanfiction, i dont need to necessarily see all of it in canon.

Interesting. So Sam was at the Talk Art party, a celebration for the podcast his friend Russell Tovey does. Caitriona's dear friend Aisling Bea is also friends with Russell and Robert and was there and celebrating too. When i finished the fic, the first thing to leave my mouth was "Holy crap" and then i happened to read the title again AND GIRL YOU NAMED THAT PERFECTLY

I came here bc wanted to compliment you on your ability to make the reader's looks ambiguous. When I read the slapping warning I was bracing myself to read the something along the lines of "your skin reddened" or something but that never came. As someone with a darker complexion I appreciated that. (I ended up seeing that you put Black fem on your pinned post so that makes sense). But i also wanted to say that I liked how the height was up for interpretation too. It was mention that the reader tilted Maddie's head and I loved how it didn't say up or down, just tilted. (Idk if that was intentional but I enjoyed it regardless). And body type wasn't mentioned either, so it's easy for someone to see themself no matter if they're bigger or smaller 🤗 (i have 0 curves so I was thankful)

Aside from the reader, I really enjoyed how you wrote Maddie. I thought most people would write her as like a "soft cinnamon, doe-eyed girl" when she's looked SO COLD during cait's execution, plus she's a soldier FROM NOXUS. You gave her an amazing personality in just a oneshot. I loved your portrayal of her, and hope to see more fics from you <3

wish i had just as nice answer to it (i've been writing this one for what... years?). but to be honest if i was a good writer myself i'd already have finished all my 37 books in progress. thoi feel like i'm pretty great in drabbles and generating ideas

so um yeah i don't have like "ideal picture" per se but i do have some let's say adjustments

1) first of all we need to get rid of all these пердежей в лужу (farting in a puddle for all my non-russian-speaking comrades). if a character makes a point (with some pretentious attitude nontheless) then either the point should stand or the change in the character's views or position should be actually shown. "you have to understand on your own that even if vi didn't want to become enforcer at first after the attack at memorial she changed her mind". no-no-no. look, if the book says "he said, 'let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.' and it was so" i mean i CAN understand what happened, and even how, and all those things, but i sure as hell won't feel any emotions. it's "okay he did it, cool". but what about actually showing some struggle? more details? no? what's the point of a story if the story has to be created by the listener? mel saying hard "no" to hextech weapons and acting all cool and mighty in the process just for the same exact episode ending with a swat team armed with hextech weapons and 0 commentary of mel's previous hard "no". characters' words don't mean shit cause if they need to do 180 on their believes for the sake of story they won't even bother to acknowledge they said something in the past

how to change? let someone meaningful to vi be hurt in the attack or let jinx be a part of it. i mean some lady does a personal vendetta cause her son was killed by piltie counselor? why does vi jump to hunting jinx as enforcer? also thinking about it it's kinda funny how this lady's personal vendetta makes cait call undercitizens animals just for her to go on the similar vendetta right after

2) cut out pointless stuff. or make them have a point. like the whole sequence of vi trying to go through the crowd cause she thought the neck tattoo on the enforcer looked suspicious. either cut it out or make her reach someone, or divert the attack, or do something other then go through crown and do fuck all. or like that also long ass scene when jinx gets touched by her followers. it's touching i guess but they're all dead one minute after and jinx never think of them ever again anyway. make her their actual cult leader or get rid of their meeting idk. isha's suicide sequence should also be gone. no alternative, just gone, idc. while we are at it might cut out isha altogether

3) which would actually be a shame cause i love children and found families and fucked up families and taking care of our smaller brothers, so like when i saw isha falling on jinx my first thought was "god i hope jinx will adopt him". so the third thing i would do is actually fixing this whole mess with isha. make her an actual character instead of empty plot device. it's cool i guess that we have a cool scene of her falling like an angel from the sky but also would be nice to at least know why a baby was chased by three muscle heads. give her background and personality instead of "look it's a parallel to jinx and silco! we even turned this child into little powder for you, dyed her hair and made jinx say it outloud to make it more convincing"

You definitely don’t care about this but I just want to say like thanks for putting out that post about caitvi and how people see that as domestic violence. A lot of people that don’t agree with that say that because they’re survivors of domestic violence, they know what it looks like and it’s not that. Like cool, but they never take into consideration that maybe someone else who’s experienced that sees that scene and identifies with the situation enough that they consider it as such. It just sucks seeing that take. Then they start blabbing about ‘complex female characters’ and etc

haha, thanks for the message, anon! of course i care about the topic! specifically the entire discourse reminded me of an article on how gendered stereotypes affect the perception of violence (specifically in regards to intimate partner violence) that i had to read for my criminal law class. like i said in the tags of that post, i don't really want to make definite claims on the subject because it's so complicated and i'm not even sure where my own mind is at (for exaplem, not to get even more people mad at me lmao, one could discuss vi's treatment of powder as children using similar lenses - and please note the use of similar here!! i know its fundamentally different because vi was also a lonely and scared little kid!). anyway, it just stood out to me while browsing through the tags that i could barely see mention of it despite Cait hitting Vi explicitly (with the barrel of a gun too and right after saying some of the most outwardly xenophobic lines we've ever heard her say in the series... ouch? seeing Vi whimpering on the floor, like she's back to being a kid hit by another random enforcer again just hurts)

anyway back to actually answering your ask, of course experience is so important, i feel like everytime someone speaks with that sort of baggage it comes from such a personal and delicate space that i can not help but silently nod and respect their perspectives. this is a fictional show and as great of a tool it is to discuss real life issues, i do not want to harm anyone in doing so. with that in mind, it is exactly because experiences are so vast and different that i don't believe being personally victimized by something (be it ipv, an illness etc) necessarily makes one qualified to speak on the behalf of the entire population that has been through it. that worsens when the discussion is, at heart, the classification of something so sensitive, as you said, maybe someone else who’s experienced that identifies with the situation enough that they consider it as such.

i do think there needs to be some level of objetive measuring, but i have exactly 0 authority on the subject to even think of proposing it (specially on tumblr of all places ha). sorry this was so long winded, btw, specially because my initial post was so simple, i don't usually walk in this neighbourhood i dont want to antagonize anyone lol.

6. If you could have one creature as a companion, what would it be? 

Ohhhhh, this is so difficult 😩 the obvious answer is deathclaw, I think, and that would be a spectacular companion, don't get me wrong, but... I also really like the pseudo-dog types. I'd love to have a mutant hound, or in NV's case, a night stalker would be very cool... but also brahmin and bighorners would be interesting too 🤔 ahh, I'm too indecisive for this, they're all too good!

Really, they just need to expand to more than humanoids and Dogmeat/Rex... and robots... Ok, so they have a decent variety, but I want more aminals, dangit.

23. Which SPECIAL stat do you tend to make the highest? 

It's generally either charisma (usually in FO4's case) or intelligence, but I'd like to do a lucky character sometime in the future, since that seems very fun to explore.

30. 3 things you’d like to see in the next fallout game?

This is a great question, and already partially answered above! But I'm gonna go over it again.

First, I'd like to see a bigger commitment to character development with the companions/npcs. As much as we all complain about the writing in FO4 (and for good reason), Bethany Esda really has shown growth in the way the companions have become more individualized characters with interesting backstories from FO3-FO4. But obviously there was still a lack of development and closure for a lot of these characters, a lot of tragic backstories they have in common *cough cough dead wife *cough and an overall lack of depth and care for the female characters (Clover, Cait, Curie, Cass, Cross why do all of their names start with C? and somewhat for Piper and Veronica as well.) And I do tend to play Fallout not for the combat/gameplay as much, but more for the story and character connections and the interesting environment; so I'd call for more companion quests and unique characters that really ground you in the world and help you to form emotional connections with them, and, in turn, become more invested in the game, story, and world as a whole.

Second, this is really just a critique for FO4, but please bring back the proper elements of roleplaying! Don't give our characters a whole ass backstory that's difficult to stray from or build off of if you want to stay true to cannon with your OCs. Also, for the love of god, bring back the dialogue options that aren't just one word gists of the whole actual line. I can't tell y'all the amount of times I went back in a save for saying something wrong 😩 Like.... I wanted to be sarcastic in a funny way, not be an asshole to Nick, geeze.

And last is that one I said earlier, where it'd be interesting to have different creature companions, but also, just more variety in general with the companions. Give us more female characters, more companions from different factions (Legion, Great Khans, Fiends, The Kings, Enclave, etc.), and more characters that are canonically trans, or have a specific sexuality/romantic preference instead of blanketing everyone as bi to be available to any kind of OC (which is awesome for some, but also, I'd like to see further commitment to diversity), which also means I'd like to see different races and ethnicities depicted as well.

ANYWAY, that was pretty long-winded, and just sort of word-vomited out, but hopefully it all makes sense.

There's definitely quite a few things I would want to see changed for future games, but also, I don't want to completely drag the ones I've played, since, clearly, they've had an enormous impact on my life. But I'm a true believer that most of us who enjoy these games, yet still want to see them change, want that because of how much we care about these games and we only want to see them improve more and more.

You are very right, it is wonderful to be more involved in the community and help spread the fun and the joy of Celtic music and other aspects of the culture. And to think it all started 17 years ago when a friend told me about something called renaissance festivals.

Celtic Pittsburgh is growing. My wife and son have joined in, as well as a friend. We had tables at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, and the Ligonier Highland Games.Thanks to those events we have many more subscribers on our Facebook page, and I have learned about other events and other musicians and bands I had not heard of before.

I have attached a few photos. The Irish festival was held on the site of an old steel mill in Rankin, Pa, just outside of Pittsburgh. In one photo, Sue Borowski's group, RichPatrick, can be seen performing at the Ligonier Highland Games.

On Labor Day weekend, Sue and I were interviewed on the radio! It was an "I can't believe I am doing this" moment. If you care to have a listen, here is the link.

17, 18, and 20 for Darcy and the Familiar?

17. what are they like when they’re tired?

darcy instinctively fights off drowsiness. he consumes a lot of caffeine: monster, venom, rockstar, starbucks doubleshot. if it's high in caffeine and comes in a can, he's consumed it in unhealthy quantities before. before you get too concerned for his health, let me assure you that he does gradually start drinking a lot more just-plain-water as time goes on and the familiar enters the picture. but twice-daily black coffee is a baseline necessity. he gets a guaranteed six hours of sleep each night until the weekends when he crashes and sleeps 16 hours.

the familiar is out like sleepy ponyo when they're tired and sleep like they're dead to the world. this is mostly because they enter r.e.m. sleep in a way that's similar to chris' dream-journeying? that's how they make additional income to help themself, their family back home in the city, and darcy. little courier jobs, asset acquisitions, etc... but no, yeah, they are totally limp and fully asleep for 3 hours at a time. they sleep less than darcy does because they don't need to. but thankfully they have (safe) ways of staying busy and occupied and happy so darcy doesn't worry about them wandering off.

18. what are they like in arguments?

darcy has his moments. though he's pretty unhinged in general most of the time, when you put him in a high-stress situation, he can be surprisingly sharp-witted. that all fades the second he doesn't truly feel threatened anymore, though. he does the opposite of front-loading. he tries not to be on the offense, he's learned from experience that being the first person to strike during a debate or argument often reveals his hand to the person he's arguing against. so he simmers and he waits for the other person to say something stupid or 'drop' things that he can build into a makeshift insult or rebuttal or whatever else. he's good at this but only insofar as it makes sense to him. he's not formally trained in rhetoric, he just uses the streamlined common-sense guide to winning arguments. and, you know, if worse comes to worse, he can just start Getting Fucking Angry. he's much more likely to lose his cool if someone threatens the familiar (or simply poses a significant threat to them by virtue of being in, like, close proximity to them).

the familiar doesn't get into too many arguments, really, unless it's to express their frustrations to the sort of... 'social worker'? temp.. manager? it's hard to describe who she is but i'd broadly say she's similar to the representative of the curator. she serves a big entity that acts as a kind of interdimensional job recruiter? and when the time comes for darcy to have a performance review, the familiar has to talk to her again. and sometimes they're a little frustrated by the fact that they feel like they don't know what to do, they feel discouraged by 'just staying afloat' in this, dare i say it, sorcerer economy. which isn't to say that they don't experience anger or that they don't sometimes have a stern word for the bodega-owning sorcerers they and darcy encounter (or any other sorcerers who are rude or give them both a hard time or are just plain weird and/or mean)... it's just different...! they're not good at it, if that simplifies anything jjfklds

20. out of 10, how happy are they? how happy do they think they are?

big, tough question! darcy is at a constant, passable 6 or 7 most of the time before meeting the familiar. and that bumps up to a happier 7-8 after meeting them. he wasn't at his lowest but he certainly wasn't doing amazing. he'd just broken up with the person he thought he was going to propose to and transplanted himself to nyc. it's hard to be at anything above a 4 for him in the first few months there. but shit gets marginally easier (or, at least, more exciting? hopeful? it's difficult for me to think of good words for how he feels about that change of pace but it's something that makes him feel less helpless, that's for sure...)

as for the familiar, their happiness has been subjective their whole life. the city was not all bad, despite how scary it often was, because they had their parents and understood how things worked there. they saw themself being able to survive there but also understood that they had an option available to them that would make their parents more safe and happy. and the prospect of adventuring in another world sounded like a great escape, no matter how new and terrifying it was at the same time. living in nyc, the familiar has so many new experiences that i would say, for simplicity's sake, increased their capacity for happiness and joy. so they went from a constant 5-6 to a stable 9 in the first year of knowing darcy. it's been good for them both!

The clip in question was intended to highlight Cait kissing her PA then “boyfriend”, A.G. McGill, as she stood up from her group’s table to go accept her 2016 BAFTA for Best Actress in a TV Series. Except...she didn’t kiss her PA “boyfriend.” Instead, she kissed...<<<drumroll please>>>

...Sam Heughan.

Just as Cait is standing up, and leaning in to the man on her left (Sam, not Tony), the lights flash erratically. Result? A perfect spotlight for what seems to be a lip-to-lip, congratulatory smooch. 💋

Looking for more? After Cait leans down for her facial tête-à-tête with Sam, she walks around behind him, as he stands. When he stands, those pesky, bright, erratic lights catch the side of his head, complete with auburn-colored hair and extra length curled around his left ear.

Another interesting detail we found in the whole video (OL Russia - posted just above), Cait’s name was called, she stood up, leaned over, gave Sam a kiss, walked behind Sam towards the stage, and right past Tony (on Sam’s left) without a thought. (To see it, you have to watch very carefully on the wide shot for the stand/lean/kiss/walk around, then the the close-up cuts in of Cait beginning to walk up to the stage. That’s when she walks past Tony and Duncan.)

And, before you come at us with a hypothetical, “She would never do that in public!”...1) Videos don’t lie, 2) Until the light flashed on them the the exact 👏 perfect 👏 moment 👏 it was über dark in that room, and 3) We’re pretty sure they gave zero fucks on a night like that, in fact...

...this looks like the face of a man who is done. Done with the games, the drama, and the hiding. Too bad we are still here five years later. 😑

Now, next order of business... As seen in this official table pic 👇, Sam is sitting at the back of the table, but...wait...Cait was just sitting there...🤔🤨 Seems there was a quick game of musical chairs that went on during Cait’s [cait]walk to the stage.

Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been gone for so long but this college quarter is taking up a lot of my free time. Thank you for requesting something Anon! I went ahead and did a mix of both romanced and platonic reactions. I hope you like it!

Ada:

Doesn’t really react. She notices that sole is talking a lot more than usual, but she doesn’t want to point it out in case they’re insecure.

Cait (romanced + platonic):

Stares at sole wide eyed. She’s honestly just really surprised. If she’s romanced, she’ll comment on your voice being a turn on or something like that. What? She can’t be super mushy….

Curie (romanced + platonic):

Rants with sole. If sole is passionate enough about something to speak up, then she wants to show an equal amount of passion for it. If it’s important to sole, it’s important to her.

Deacon:

“Woah, wait. Lemme get my recorder…”

He’s joking (mostly). He’s honestly just glad that sole feels comfortable enough with him to talk. That’s a win in his book.

Dogmeat:

John Hancock (romanced + platonic):

“Either the jet is acting up or you just spoke…”

He’s really just giving you an out. He’s met people like that before and knows that sole may feel embarrassed afterwards. If you want, blame it on the drugs and he’ll go with that.

Can’t stop staring. He doesn’t know what to say or how to react. If romanced, he’ll probably comment on how good it is to hear them talking.

Makes a point on not commenting on how out of character it is for sole to talk so much. He doesn’t want to scare them off.

Super straightforward praise. He really wants them to talk more but doesn’t want to be pushy. He just lets them know that he really appreciates it when they talk.

Is indifferent. He honestly doesn’t care too much. If romanced, he will definitely comment on your voice and how much he likes it.
