Thankfully, we made it to Lisbon only a day late. Our flight took off from London without any further meddling from Gerrit.
We arrived at our Airbnb around noon, and Garrett was starving so we walked down to the Time Out Market for some food (similar to Armature Works in Tampa or Ponce City Market in Atlanta). It was nearly impossible to find a place to sit and the food was underwhelming. I think we fell for a tourist trap. We did have a really good pavlova for dessert.
We then spent about 40 minutes trying to buy a bus pass so we could go visit the Jeronimos Monastery. Up to this point in the trip, the people we had interacted with had not been very friendly or helpful. (With the exception of our Airbnb host, who was wonderful.)
We finally make it to the monastery, only to find that there is a super long line and the ticket office was closed. It felt like another bust. We walked down to the river and then stopped at a little cart that was selling oysters and grabbed a half dozen for pretty cheap.
Feeling like the day was being wasted, I wanted to stop at a modern art museum that was nearby. We both were getting pretty sleepy from the jet lag, but we powered through the museum. It probably wasn’t worth it because the museum turned out to be pretty mediocre. Overall, the day was an unfortunate pursuit of sightseeing. Even the best laid plans, as they say. We went back to the Airbnb and napped for three hours before waking up for a late dinner.
Dinner was at a tiny hole in the wall restaurant that our host recommended to us called Restaurante Cabacas. We cooked our steaks on a hot stone and enjoyed the cured meats, cheese, olives, and bread they included as an appetizer. Garrett cooked his meat perfectly, while I overcooked a few pieces of mine. Our server was a really sweet guy, and he restored our faith in the hospitality of the people in Lisbon.
(I’m probably scolding Gare for something here. Who knows?)
Don’t worry, although our first day was mostly fine, our second day in Lisbon was awesome! I can’t wait to share more about it.

SIXTH SENSE LOVE
I was talking about my first published story the other day, right? Now, let me tell you about Sixth Sense Love.
Sixth Sense Love is a horror/mystery/fantasy story with a dash of romance. It was about an orphan named Siska who can see ghosts (or you can say spirits too). She lived in an orphanage for about sixteen years, until a single mother finally adopted her. When she was adapting with her new family--which consists of Ulfa (mom), Aiden (little brother)--she met a spirit of a teenage boy. He was following Aiden before he realized that Siska can see him. He introduced himself as Daniel, and started to befriend her, telling her things about medium, the other world, kinds of spirits, etc..
At first, Siska was not interested with Daniel and all of his stories about things only certain people can experience. However, she cannot help but to be dragged into a bizarre adventure of spirit hunting. From that event, her feelings and bonds towards Daniel started to grow. She, although unspoken, agreed to follow Daniel's instructions and become a medium. She started to realize that all of these spirits are actually asking for her help.
I forgot to tell you that beside Daniel, Siska was accompany with another guy (a living one!) named Samuel. He was a dentist at the local hospital, and met Siska for the first time when he was going home from his work and accidentally almost hit Siska with his car. The second time he met her was at a bookstore where he was almost accused as a molester by Siska's adopted mom.
Anyway, the story became a lot more interesting when Siska learned that Samuel was actually Daniel's older brother. She also learned that Daniel was NOT a spirit who were assigned to guide Siska in her journey of becoming a medium. Instead, he was actually a ghost, a wandering spirit who can't cross the border between the dead and the living because he killed himself and still had unsolved problems with his family.
Oh, also, there's this evil entity who were after Siska's soul, and Siska almost died, and Samuel almost died, and Daniel almost become the evil entity, but... Well, you get the point, right?
It was a very amateur and childish horror story, even though I already did my best to perfect it. Now, if I had the chance, I would love to really polish and perfect it..., turn it into a not-so-cringey story so a lot more people can enjoy it.
Still, it has a special place in my heart.
I hope one day you read Sixth Sense Love too! Because Siska, Daniel, and Samuel would love to be friends with you! <3

#Repost @yuni_warjui (@get_repost) ・・・ 𝙸𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚝𝚊𝚜 𝙱𝚞𝚔u 📗 La Venganza 🖋️ Reffi Dinar 📖 21 Bab (Lengkap) ⭐ 4.5/5 (Aplikasi) 🎶 Thriller/Misteri QoTD : Hai, apakah kalian penyuka novel bergenre thriller? #oneweekonebook #cabaca #lavenganza #ReffiDhinar https://www.instagram.com/p/CLikcl0g-LT/?igshid=cnz36jxraiy3

Review Unpredictable Wedding by Ria Indria
Keyna Patricia :
“Bagaimana mungkin gue menikah secepat ini, tanpa persiapan sama sekali? Ini gila!”
Revan Aditya :
“Gue menikah? Kapan gue ngerencanain ini semua? Ahhh… gue sama sekali nggak inget! And, who is she?”
Menikah.

Nggak sabar menunggu bab selanjutnya!!!
Hwaiting, kak Ria!!! 😍😘🙏💪

The Place You Are Not Belong. • Geser buat baca blurb Di awal bab udah di suguhin pelajaran kimia, otakku langsung bingung karena obrolan koloid, pendispersi dan terdispersi, tapi lumayan buat ilmu baru. Haha. . Rate buat eBook ini "Love it! ❤" . #ikarireads #cabacaapp #bookreview #youngadultnovel #reviewbuku #fujasagita #theplaceyouarenotbelong #cabaca #bookstagram #bookstagramtour https://www.instagram.com/p/CGd92lMg14L/?igshid=bmn7365nlzrx

RECONVERSION
February 3, 1946
By ERSKINE JOHNSON, NEA Staff Correspondent
HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 3 (NEA) ~ Lucille Ball is reconverting and we do not mean her hair is changing color again. It is natural blonde and not the shocking pink which M-G-M insisted upon for Technicolor and which caused prop boys and junior scenarists to wear blinkers last season.
Reconversion is necessary even in Hollywood, Lucille said, when a gal's husband gets out of uniform. Lucille's just did. He's the Cuban conga cut-up, Dezi* Arnaz, now beating maracas, cabacas, bongos and people's ears to pieces every night as the leader of his own band at Ciro's.
Things have changed at the Ball-Dezi manse since Dezi came home from three years in the army. Among other things, Lucille moaned: "He gets out of the army and what happens? I have to get dressed up, put on orchids and pay a cover charge to talk to him." But when she is working it is another story.
Lucille gets up at 5:30, gets home at 7 at night. Dezi sleeps all day, goes to work at 7:30 p.m. and gets home at 3:30 a.m.
"We meet at the door," Lucille said.
There are other things, too.
Lucille sleeps with all the windows open. Dezi sleeps with them down. They are now down. Dezi likes hot Cuban dishes and cooks them himself. Lucille doesn't like them. They are now eating hot Cuban dishes. Dezi likes to go fishing. Lucille gets seasick. "But," said Lucille, "here we go fishing."
As for her movie career, Lucille said that had been reconverted, too. Or will be when M-G-M gets around to releasing a new comedy, "Easy to Wed”. Lucille has the role she has been waiting 10 years for - a wacky, fast-talking, hip-swinging actress.
She's now working in a new 20th Century-Fox flicker, "Dark Corner."
We were amazed to discover that both Lucille and Dezi are a couple of very sentimental people. They go every year on their wedding anniversary to the same booth in a Hollywood restaurant where they met.
Learned the Hard Way
They say in Hollywood that Lucille is the gal who knows all the answers. She ought to. She learned them the hard way, working as a New York model before Hollywood discovered her. A photographer sent her to Hattie Carnegie. Lucille was wearing something pink and all wrong. Hattie took one look and said, "Good grief." But she hired her. Lucille's first job was to model a mink coat.
"I slinked that mink all over the place," Lucille recalled, and Hattie thought I was wonderful. "But she fired me five times while I worked for her - but always called the next day to bawl me out for not coming to work." Finally Lucille had to tell her she had a film offer from Sam Goldwyn. He had seen her photograph in a cigarette poster.
"Hattie was wonderful about it," Lucille said. "She fired me again, saying, 'You're fired, Lucille, and this time I mean it. I won't be calling you in the morning.'”
_____________
*The article consistently misspells Desi’s name as ‘Dezi’.
Lucy and Desi weren’t far from wrong. Although they were consistently trying to get pregnant, they had no luck until late 1950 - five years after this column was printed!
