oneshot stolen charger 🪫
pairing — paige bueckers x fem!reader
content & warnings — "arguing because paige stole your charger" , only playful arguing!
word count: 1k , notes @ the end (something fun!)
“Has anyone seen my charger?” You walked into your living room where some of your and Paige’s friends were gathered. Most people shook their heads no, some replying out loud. You sighed. Your phone was down to 5% and starting to lag.
You had felt around for it on your bed when the 20% battery warning popped up in the middle of watching your show but left it when you couldn’t find it. 20% was okay for now. When you got the 10% warning you felt around more thoroughly, even checking under your bed thinking maybe it had fallen when you moved around to get comfortable.
Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t there. Frustration started to set in when you searched all over your room to no avail, your phone battery quickly draining to 8%.
It wasn’t on your nightstand, it hadn’t been plugged into the outlet at your desk. You vividly remember taking it back to your room after charging your phone in the bathroom to let it play your music while you showered earlier.
After going out to your dorm’s common area you searched the outlets behind couches and through the clutter on the kitchen counters which showed no results. Literally where could it possibly be?
It’s not like your charger has legs and skedaddled off when you needed it.
Or maybe it’s just really good at hide and seek because now your phone was at 3% and you still have no clue where your damn charger could be. You’ve looked in all the obvious places.
Well, maybe except for one.
You quickly pace towards Paige’s door, leaning close to it to hear what she was doing inside before knocking. “Come in,” the blonde’s voice came a moment later.
You opened the door to see KK and Jana scrolling on KK’s phone. Your figure had appeared in the background and they had seen this, gesturing you over to show you off to the live.
“Hey girl! The live wants to see you,” KK smiled brightly. You momentarily forget about the search for your runaway phone charger to greet the people on KK’s live.
You squeeze between KK and Jana so that you’re all in frame before waving and saying hi quickly before turning to the girls on your sides to ask them if they’ve seen your charger.
Jana shakes her head no, followed by KK’s “Negative”.
“Seriously? I’ve been looking for like 10 minutes!” You sigh, exasperatedly.
The people in the live chat laughing at your frustration, some empathizing with your pain. You looked down and your phone was down to 1%. It was a losing battle and you’d just let it die at this point.
Doesn’t mean you don’t still need your charger.
You stand up straight from your bent position between Jana and KK, your face being cropped out of frame. Your head swivels to look at Paige and ask her if she’s seen the cord.
She’s sitting up on her bed, legs stretched out with one crossed over the other, her back against the wall. She wasn’t paying attention, her eyes glued to her phone, occasionally laughing quietly at something funny she happens to see while scrolling.
Your eyes meet her figure before flicking to what’s in her hand. Her phone, on charge, using your charger. The very thing you’ve been looking for for almost 15 minutes by this point.
“Paige!” You demand. She looks up from her phone to look at you, her expression calm but confused. “Yes?” She responds obliviously. “You stole my charger!”
She looks back down and then drags her gaze back up to you with a sheepish smile. “Give it back!” You demand again, putting your hand out for her to return your charger. She shakes her head immediately. “No! I’m using it now!” Paige retorts. You groan, “You always do this! You always steal my stuff and then refuse to give it back to me when I ask for it back!”
“Ok first of all, you didn’t ask, you demanded. Second, you can’t just wait until I’m done using it?” She questions you like she’s the one in the right. You glare at her. “I demanded it because you stole it, and no, I can’t wait this time because my phone is dead and I just wanna watch my show!”
By this point, KK and Jana (and even some people in the living room) aren’t paying attention to what they’re doing. Even the live was invested in this argument. KK was quietly snickering while Jana just watched this unfold.
“C’monnnn,” Paige whined. “Just give me 5 more minutes!”
You shook your head adamantly. “No Paige, I need my charger now.”
“How did you even get it? I had it in my room. And why? You have your own charger, Paige, do you not?” You deadpanned.
Paige just shrugs at you. “Aubrey needed a charger so I offered her mine but then I needed to charge but Aubrey wasn’t at a good enough percentage so I took yours. I just grabbed it from your nightstand while you were in the bathroom.”
You roll your eyes. Of course she had. “Ok well, time’s up! Hand it over.” She makes puppy dog eyes at you, making you roll your eyes at her again. “That hasn’t worked for you before, it won’t work now.”
She leans her head back against the wall and sighs before unplugging the base of your charger from her wall and crawling on her bed towards where you stood at the edge of it to place the cord in your outstretched hand.
You shoot her a sarcastic smile before thanking her and walking back out to your bedroom. Finally, you can watch your show in peace.
You enter your room and head to your closet to grab your favorite sweater.
But when you open your closet doors expecting to see the fluffy bundle sitting in an organizer just at eye level, it wasn’t there.
Then you register what Paige had been lounging in.
You were too busy to notice it hanging off her shoulders. You throw your head back exasperatedly then yell towards her door. And you swear you hear her snicker with KK.
🔖 — i feel somewhat ashamed that this is the longest work i have on here.. also hi again! i haven't written in a bit because i haven't had any ideas :( my requests are open if anyone wants to send something in! anyway, this is day one of something i've decided to try! for july i'm gonna pick a prompt from a list i have and write something based on that! i didn't take the list from anywhere i just made it myself. i wanted to do this to just write more and push myself to write stuff with creative freedom since a lot of prompts are quite vague. but yeah! that's my update, sorry this so long oops. hope this was entertaining to some degree, thank you for reading!!

caitlin clark head cannons!
straight fluff because we all need it 🥰
caitlin clark x fem!reader
has a playlist with your guys' favorite songs mixed together that she plays on the bus to almost every away game
tells everyone she drinks black coffee but when no one is looking she dumps an unhealthy amount of sugar into the drink
hates having her hair in her face, so she always has at least two hair ties with her, incase you want one too.
most people just call her caitlin, but she lets you (and only you) call her cece, (get it? like CC? caitlin clark? it took me way to long to think of that.)
will randomly send you word hunt through out the day on game pigeon claiming that the lecture she's in is boring her.
will complain that she doesn't have any sweaters because you keep taking them, but in reality she just keeps accidentally leaving them in your dorm.
has a weird obsession with panera bread chicken noodle soup.
loves loves loves celsius but won't drink them cause she's scared she's going to drink to many in one day
will always be the big spoon but she loves to be little spoon, but her all time favorite cuddling position is just a bear hug with limbs being everywhere
stresses about school on a whole other level but when you're there she's reminded that she is human, which is one of her favorite things about you. you always keep her in check.

You would be right about that. I don't have the time to keep a workout schedule. Haha. Our place where we actually live isn't as big as you think it is.
I didn't think you really had the time to keep a workout schedule, thought you squeezed it in when you could. It doesn't surprise me that you have your own gym though - I mean what else would you do with all those rooms?

This was what she liked about them. The jokes, the challenges, the annoying smirk on his face when he felt like he was right, which he thought a little too many times. They had established a rapport that she had no issue with but Paige didn't see how making their relationship official would change that. Nothing about them would fundamentally change. They were still the same people, and he was still the same aggravating dude to press her nerves. Maybe she was naive to think they wouldn't change but just like him, this was all new to her. One thing Paige was not, was a quitter so she could only raise her brow at his challenge. Then make her move. She leaned in, placing a trail of kisses up from his neck to his ear. "I could think of a couple ways to make you" she whispered. Only to pull back with a grin on her face, "but you'd like it too much." And she would too but that was besides the point. The point was if Finn wanted to play this game, which reeked largely of a distraction tactic then she could too. Unfortunately after everything that had happened, it wouldn't distract her as much as he thought. 'Oh'? There really was no pleasing him. That was starting to feel like a second argument she really didn't have the ability to handle. Not if she wanted to remain sane.
Paige sucked her teeth at his admission. Damn. It wasn't like she wasn't aware. She wasn't that big of a fool but Finn saying it aloud, especially in the midst of her current conversation only made it hit all the more. So much so that her only reaction was a shrug. What could she say to that and how did he make it sound so simple? Honestly Paige would've liked it more if Finn was playing with her feelings. Then she'd at least be able to not take everything to heart. Yet every sweet word he said shot right there. Though she wanted to laugh. Prepare her? Prepare her for what exactly. Her hand reached up to cup the side of his face, her thumb stroking his cheek. "That's sweet but I don't need you to prepare me. I'm a big girl. I can make my own decisions and deal with whatever consequences come." One could argue that she was already doing such. Didn't Finn realize that whatever he was trying to prepare her for, he was more than capable of being the thing she needed to be prepared for? The irony. He was making decisions for her that she hadn't asked for all in the name of his care. Yet he clearly didn't even know what she wanted. He wasn't in any position to determine what was best for her. "Having a roster sounds fun." Lie. "According to Angie that's how most people date anyways. Perfect way to avoid getting hung up on just one person." Then again Angie, her friend Angelica, was a serial dater and should never be trusted for dating advice. But they weren't dating, he had made that clear so it didn't hurt to try something once. Something where she actually couldn't get hurt. It was built in protection. The thing she had needed from Finn from the start.
If she weren't distracted by trying to further protect her own feelings then Paige would have noticed the conversation was seeming less and less fun to Finn. Though he had made his bed and now he had to lay in it. She scrunched her nose together. "We can be casual but we'll never be that casual. That's way too weird for me." Even if they had made the boundaries clear at the start, she never would have wanted to know or even shared that information from her end. The man she liked was clearly an idiot yet it didn't change her feelings. Those were too far gone. "If you," Paige paused to correct her words, "when you go out with other girls, Finn, I don't want to know. Failure or not." Now she couldn't say she hadn't told him. There was truly no point in him sharing his failed conquests with her. Not unless his intent was to land her in a jail cell. Even his failures would only be a loss for her. Nothing but the constant reminder that she would be sharing him with whoever. If there was one thing she was sure of, it was that there'd always be a prettier, smarter, more whatever girl in whatever city he went to next. Drawn to what they think they knew of him or his fame. It would be naive to think there wasn't temptation around him. The comments on his photos, the tweets at him? It took so much already to not dwell. And that was even when she thought they had something more. Maybe she'd delete Instagram soon. It was for the best. Her peace of mind. "What other things are those?" Oh sweet sweet Finley. It gave her too much pleasure to pop the false reality he seemed unaware of. "You don't realize that your position could change?" Easily. If she wanted to be honest. The attention she was competing to get with Finn was something any other man could give her. Not to even talk about time. With how much he was gone for interviews, concerts, and things of the sort and now her knowledge to not change her plans for him? Sweet sweet Finn.
Her reaction was everything. The smirk already present on his face only broadened, a playful glint in his eye. From the eyeroll, to the way she narrowed her eyes at him before demanding he shut up. “Who? Me?” he said exaggeratedly, feigning like he was looking around, searching for an alternative person for Paige to be saying that to, before looking back at her, his eyes darting back to hers, the same evergrowing grin still plastered all over his face. “Nah. Not unless you make me..” A challenge, a quirk of an eyebrow. It was easier to gloss over it all, this conversation. Feelings made things too complicated. Now, jokes and playful rebuttals? That was more up his street. It was easy, light. Again, it was why Finn saw no need to change things, make things difficult. What would be the point? At least if things got stale, or didn’t work out or they fall out, no one would be at a loss. He wouldn’t be at a loss. That’s what he told himself to convince himself, anyway. The way he saw it. As far as he was concerned, he thought they’d resolved things now. Nothing needed to change, and as long as Paige was still willing to be involved with him, in whatever the fuck this would become, with some minor changes that was, then he figured it was fine. Or if not, it would be. If it wasn’t then…well. He had no plan for that. The common sense decision would be to cut all ties, right? But it wasn’t something Finley considered; he saw no need to consider. He didn’t want to hurt the woman, and while to begin with he wondered whether he had done exactly that, her almost completely casual attitude towards it seemed to imply otherwise. Not that he was fully convinced yet, but still. Because she told him how she would switch her plans around for him. That was a lot of effort to put in someone, no matter the situation. Did he sound ungrateful? He wondered. Didn’t mean to be, but not meaning to do something didn’t necessarily mean he didn’t do it. Now, Paige told him she didn’t plan on doing that anymore and he felt…deflated? Disappointed? It was all very confusing because he wasn’t bothered, she could do what she wanted. Ugh. “Oh. Okay then. Least we cleared that up, huh?” What else could he say?
Oh, she was good. It didn’t go unnoticed, the way Paige leaned into him. Satisfied with his ways of getting around her, but then the next thing he knew, she was imitating him from before and…he honestly admired her for it. The same, cheeky grin threatened to pull at his lips once again though he did indeed try to quash it. Cocking his head, he simply said, “I do care. About you.” Because that was the truth. Just because he decided he didn’t want to settle into a relationship didn’t mean he didn’t care for the girl. Maybe he didn’t make it clear enough. But then again, with his nonchalant attitude to this whole situation, it wasn’t as if he gave her any reason to think otherwise. “I am just trying to…” he trailed off, humming thoughtfully as he searched mentally for what he wanted to say. A half-shrug rolled from his shoulders. “Prepare you. I only want the best for you, Paige. Surely you know that?” Finn added like it was the most obvious thing in the world. It wasn’t a lie, he did want what was best for her. And he wholeheartedly believed being in a relationship with him was not for the best. For a plethora of reasons: it wasn’t the right time, he wasn’t around enough to give her what she needed, the fans were relentless and in a way, he was trying to protect her from that. From the media scrutiny, from the millions of questions she’d inevitably be asked about him, from the pressures being close to him brought. He already saw that happen with one of his bandmates. And he was certain they were solid, unbeatable even. They’d been together before long before the show, but their relationship didn’t survive fame. And he saw how it affected him, too. It wans’t nice, and he didn’t want to be subjected to that. To feelings. He didn’t need them. That’s why something a lot more casual worked for him. “Now you want a roster? Starting a collection now, are you?” he asked, wrinkling his nose up. How could she go from wanting something more from him to suddenly wanting to be casual with a number of other people?
If she was trying to get under his skin, to get to him, she was succeeding. Now he felt like he was losing. But losing what? Finn scoffed. “You wouldn’t tell me? Why not?” Should’ve been obvious, but not to him. Just because he felt like he was a - mostly, not quite - open book didn’t mean everyone else should. But then, he mused to himself, maybe it was because she didn’t want him to say I told you so precisely. Yep, that had to be it. As for the comment about having a talent for choosing men? It’s not like he could protest to that. After all, he was literally right there. “Can’t argue there,” he added, muttering under his breath. It wasn’t even that he wanted to get with other girls elsewhere. The thought hadn’t crossed his mind. Finley knew full well he had options. Loads of them, on the street, at concerts, in his dms, the propositions never stopped. And maybe he was tempted. Maybe. But in truth, it was Paige he thought about when he wasn’t with her. It was she who he messaged after a show, or called when wasn’t performing or interviewing or some other thing. His management told him: make the fans think you’re available. And so he was. He was following orders…mostly. The reasons for not initiating or developing meaningful relationships were stacked against the reasons why he should. Sure, he may have made false promises to some of the girls during banterous remarks or what have you. But he never actually followed through with their offers because he just didn’t care for them. It may have been cold, but it was true. None of them ever could mount to how Paige made him feel, though there was no point in telling her that now. It was all confusing for him! It would only make matters worse, and he didn’t want to lead her on…or do that more than he already had. The comment about his ego brought a tightlipped smile to his face, one that didn’t quite meet his eyes, even if he tried another nonchalant shrug of his shoulders. “As well as other things, yeah,” he replied with a scoff. “Oh, I should be, should I? Why’s that then?” Because it didn’t occur to him that his position could change in the future. That he could easily be demoted. With her “roster.” Or whatever.

A flighty Noctowl has made his way to the local bookstore, pressing his head to the door to open it before trotting his talons to the front counter
"Hello hello there Sir!" He speaks in a very polite tone to the Claydol "Stopping by the ask if you happen to have any Ghost-Type move tutor books in braille? A written copy too if possible.Thank you"
"Hello, welcome to Odyssey and Warden's Lounge! No need for any formalities, just call me Paige! I'm sure we have some written books that teach Ghost type moves, but our selection of books in Braille is kind of small, so there's no guarantee that I'll find a copy of it. But I can try!"
Paige tells the Noctowl to stay put as he goes behind a bookshelf, and comes right back out with a book floating right beside him. He goes back to the counter, with a sullen expression.
"But, I can do something my Mom and I have been doing to expand our collections. They're custom made books, using a braille typewriter we got from our local thrift store! Here, check this out!"
The Claydol excitedly goes behind the store's front desk, and the sounds of multiple drawers being open can be heard as he looks for the items that he'd need for the project. A typewriter contraption with fewer keys than usual is placed on the table, alongside a large stack of papers, and a folder.
Paige rolls his head around and exhales loudly, before the many eyes around his head shoot open. A dull hum and rumbling sound that fills the store can be heard, as the items Paige took out float before him. When he speaks, his voice is heard as normal but is accompanied by a voice heard inside the minds of anyone that is near enough to see the spectacle.
When the last page of the new book is finished, Paige closes his extra eyes, and the dull hum immediately stops. The book he read and the typewriter land on the counter with a soft thud, as the new book stays floating before the Noctowl.
A moment passes before Paige lets out a groan and squeezes his reminding eyes shut, groaning from the small headache that now fills his head. He quickly shakes it off and opens them back up, but the Claydol continues to look visibly worn.
"And there you go, a new braille copy of Guide to Hex & Curses. If you'll allow me, I'm going to make a note in our system of this book for my Mother to see later."
Paige puts the typewriter away, and begins to cheerfully type away at his computer.
Paige rubs his eyes, and finishes his work quickly. He recites the price of the written book to the Noctowl before he gathers the two books together to give to his customer, making sure the Braille copy is on top.
"O-Oh, and the custom made books are free, but I am required to say we do accept any tips or donation in gold or berries if you'd like to. THERE'S NO OBLIGATION TO THOUGH!"

I will have to find a place around here that does them and have a good choice of them. Oh, I often have ice cream. I am glad to hear you are doing well. My weekend is going great. Have been out and about with my son.
You absolutely do. They are a summer staple, just like ice cream! You could go for a classic strawberry banana but I guess that depends on how you feel about the seeds. Hi Sam, I'm well thanks. How is your weekend going?

oneshot step right up 🎡
pairing — paige bueckers x fem!reader
content & warnings — "you're losing terribly at ring toss so paige steps in" , uh not proofread.. also i hate this
word count: 728 , notes @ the end
Paige was experiencing a lot of pain right now. Her feet were sore from being on them for almost seven hours. Her shoulders hurt from carrying her bag and the many prizes you both had won. And she wouldn’t admit it so as to not dim the fun, but her head was starting to hurt from all the bright lights and loud noises of the carnival.
But if you were to ask her what the thing that hurt the most was, she’d say watching the scene right in front of her.
Said scene was of you on your fifth attempt at the ring toss, doing your best to earn enough points to bag the grand prize. You were nothing if not determined so every shortcoming was only fuel to continue but by now you were growing frustrated and Paige’s aches became harder to ignore.
Even the booth attendant let some tiredness slip in the form of a few yawns here and there.
After the last failed attempt you turn to Paige, the determination in your eyes having significantly dimmed. She lets a small laugh slip at the way you looked at her and it only makes your frown bigger. “What is so funny about this?” You narrow your eyes at her.
It only causes her to laugh more. You groan in response. “I’ve been trying for almost half an hour and I’ve lost enough money to the toss!”
The booth attendant pretended he wasn’t paying attention to your complaining. Maybe he wasn’t even pretending at this point.
Paige takes another look at your exasperation and relents. “Step aside,” she motions for you to move so she can take your place. You look at her confused but it quickly morphs into an expression of excitement. Surely her aim is better than yours.
The guy working the booth looks at Paige, questioning wordlessly if she’s gonna play. She nods and hands the guy enough cash to play yet another round of the ring toss.
He gathers the rings and presses a button that cues up fun lights and suspenseful game music. Instead of a bottle set up, it’s a moving target with pegs all over that you’re meant to aim for. The closer to the middle garners more points , thus granting a bigger prize of your choosing. It takes 50 points to earn the grand prize.
During all your attempts you’d reach 42 at most but now that Paige was playing, it looked like she’d surpass that quickly.
You and the booth guy watched in awe as she gained points so easily. It was refreshing to watch after your embarrassment of a run. Paige was locked in. Her tongue poked out of her mouth slightly and her brows furrowed to concentrate on aiming at the best spots to gather as many points as she could get.
When the buzzer signaling her time was up the backboard flashed a large, green “82”. You jumped up and down excitedly and Paige’s mouth curved into a wide smile.
The booth attendant congratulated the blonde and asked her which of the grand prizes she wanted. She turned to you and you pointed to a giant plush of a capybara wearing a strawberry hat. Paige pointed up to it but he was already grabbing to hand it over before she even turned away from you.
He handed it to her and she presented it proposal-style to you with a wide, goofy grin on her face. You grabbed it and hugged it tight immediately. Paige’s arms wrapped around you and she planted a big kiss on your temple with a “You’re welcome” attached to it. You thanked her continuously and she playfully rolled her eyes at your antics.
“I’m glad you’re happy but I think I’ve had enough carnival today. Mind if we go home now?” She asked sweetly, her voice giving away how tired she was though.
You nodded and let her lead you back to her car in the parking lot. “Can you drive? I’m too tired,” she said to you when you got to her car.
You sighed but agreed. She was definitely more tired out of the two of you. As soon as you both got into the car she snatched the plush right out of your arms.
At your protests she argued back with, “I won him so technically, he’s mine.”
