"Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood..."

Pained laboured breaths left what was once a hopeful man's lips. Well, hopeful was far from what he had become over the years, crippled by the trials and tribulations of what life had put onto him— yet he persevered despite the doubts that ate him whole. Curly persevered despite it all...

But does he still want that?

Laying in the Medical Room's bed without any control of his own body— burnt body— without feeling any sort of pain that he wished he would just die was difficult. Even breathing was difficult but he was forced to do so. Forced to endure. But Curly wanted to die. More than he had wished in the past... but he can't. Forced to lay in bed, feeling helpless as he watched his crew... his friends... descend into madness.

If he could cry, Curly would. The pain of his entire body doesn't hurt as much as the pain and guilt in his chest. Well, Curly thinks so. He doesn't know if the pain in his chest is the guilt of eating him or just the normal pain of being burnt alive to the point his skin is gone. But Curly still felt sick and hopeless. So despaired by it all. Because despite being forced to lay in bed and watch helplessly as everyone descended into madness, Curly knew it was his fault. And it eats him up.

Anya had already said her good bye after she locked herself in the Medical Room with him. Saying how despite everything he had done (or lack there of), she forgave him. Curly tried to talk, to reach out but all it came was garbled mess of croaks and pained wheezes as his throat hurts from the pain. Curly had to watch helplessly as she finally decided to escape the nightmare that came to the Tuplar crew of the Pony Express... to them.

The pain in his chest worsened as Curly could hear a pained screaming echoing throughout the room and it took a second for him to realize who the screamer was. But once Curly realized, his heart dropped as he wanted to cry more. Daisuke showed up in his peripheral vision, looking worse for wear since he had last seen the younger man. Curly wants to cry harder seeing Daisuke all bloodied and hurt, with so many cuts and gashes as Curly realized that in order for Daisuke to come inside the Medical Room despite Anya locking it, it was through the vents that were connected to the Utility Room. The same vents Curly knew was dangerous... fuck.

Curly had believed in the past he was a good captain. The crew in Tuplar sang his praises after all to the point Jimmy always mentions how annoying it was. Curly would have brushed it off like all the times but he knew deep inside he did feel a sense of fulfillment to be called that. A good captain. Because it made him feel like he was actually doing something worthwhile with his life.

But he doesn't believe that anymore.

How can he? Failing Anya despite the trust she placed on him to confess what his friend— what Jimmy had done to her? Where did she have to take things in her own hands? Failing Daisuke from Jimmy's manipulation that the poor young man is now crying from the pain of his injuries as well as he was screaming at Anya to wake up? Failing Swansea where he had to watch the older man lose himself to the little bits of alcohol in the Dragon's Breath mouthwash they were delivering? And worst yet... failing you as he watches the happy man descend into despair along with the crew.

Curly felt useless as he laid there motionless and despaired in bed. He can hear Swansea cursing out as he and Jimmy dragging out Daisuke who was moaning and groaning in pain. He didn't hear Anya anymore... will never hear her voice ever again.

It all was a blur. Time passed by so quickly... not that Curly knows how long it had been. The pain made it hard to focus on his surroundings but he saw someone standing in front of the medical bed. Curly let out a pained croak when he saw it was you. The one who used to be a picture image of a calm and collected crew member of his who had bright eyes that looked at him with love and respect looked frantic yet oh so tired as your dull eyes are red and puffy from crying, tear stains on your sunken cheeks. Lips quivering as you looked down at Curly. There was panic and mania in your eyes. Curly dreaded it.

"Let's rest now," You said, your tone shaky and raspy. You bite your bottom lip to stop your lips from quivering until you tasted blood that grounded you a little bit. "We can rest now, right?" You asked as tears brimmed your vision on what you were about to do. You looked at Curly and gave a smile. A smile that Curly knew was far from genuine. It didn't reach your eyes. Not the same sweet smile you would send him when you two would wake up early in the morning, in bed together. Far from the one Curly is used too. It looks despaired, haunting...

Curly tried to talk, to reach out. But just like Anya, he failed. Like he always does.

"!!!"

Curly wanted to cry when he felt your hands wrapped around his throat. He wheezes in pain as his body thrashes automatically when you squeezed. It hurts! It hurts— but let him die! There were salty tears falling down his bandaged cheek, stinging him as he could see you finally breakdown. Losing it all.

"We can go together! Everyone is gone so let's go together like you said!" You said as a deranged laugh left your lips. "Aren't we in this together, captain? We can rest!" You put more pressure down Curly's throat.

"Please, just stop suffering already!" You wailed as your entire body was shaking. You desperately tried to tune out Curly's pained noises and thrashing as you sobbed. You didn't want to do this— but you had too. No one else was going to put Curly out of his misery. No one is giving your poor captain mercy.

Anya already died, her rotting corpse was beside you, slumped over the floor. Daisuke had his head split open by an axe by Swansea. You were there to witness Swansea put down the young man. You already knew Swansea was dead somewhere around the ship. Especially when you had heard two loud gun shots rang out eerily inside the Tulpar— Jimmy was fucking insane! You knew that oh too well as you watched that monster descend to madness.

You knew you only had so little time to do what you needed to do. To finally put Curly out of his misery because you knew Jimmy wouldn't. You can accept whatever responsibility is left when Curly is gone. Whether Jimmy kills you with a gun or you having time to get the axe and kill Jimmy yourself... it'll be fine as long as you take Curly out of his misery first. Because Curly deserves it.

"Please wait for me," You cried as you looked at Curly through your tears. "I'll be close behind, okay?" You say as you smiled. The blood from your bruised bottom lip stuck to your teeth as you smiled. You look deranged but Curly could only admire you. He wanted this. He wanted to die— to have the suffering end already. Curly just wished it didn't have to be you to put him down knowing how much you loved him.

"I love you," Curly heard you sobbed as black spots formed in his vision. Curly already had trouble breathing after the crash but he can barely gasp for air, not with your hands on his throat, trying so hard to kill him. Slowly, Curly's body stopped thrashing, too weak as the black spots continued on to fill his vision. He can barely see your broken face now.

He was going to die. Curly was going to die... and that's fine.

Curly just hoped you won't suffer painfully before you both are reunited once again in the after life. Hah, when did he even believe in an after life? Curly lost hope of a god existing so many years ago. But if there was a god, Curly hoped they would be kind enough to let him see you again after this. To see the others too. But mostly... Curly just wants to see you—

Curly would have thought it would be peaceful like when the air was deprived from his lungs as you strangled him. When Curly knew he was dying as his vision darkened. You— where were you? "It's okay, I saved you," Curly heard Jimmy say. Curly wanted to bitterly laugh at his words. Jimmy didn't save him. Far from it. Jimmy depraved him from his peace! What more can Jimmy take away from him?!? Where were you?!?

Curly could only let the man whom he used to call a friend carry him without much of a fight as he was tired and still processing what everything just happened, wondering where you should have been. Did you chicken out on killing him? Was your love for him too much to kill him? Then where were you then?

Rosemary pouted, harumphing before its eyes lit up with excitement.

Sage looked back at Rosemary unamused. "We have chores to do. Theres no time for these silly games."

"Awww! Come ooon! It wont take long, it swears!" The doll gave the other two its best puppy dog eyes.

Sage sighs "fine, but you better make it quick"

Thyme just shrugs, largely uninyerested, but it wants a break from scrubbing so its going along with it. "Whatever."

Rosemary bounces excitedly "Yay! Just let me grab a candle real quick!" It scurries off to the study and returns with a lit candle, holding its hand near the flame to prevent it going out. "To the bathroom!" The doll said happily.

The other two look at each other and roll their eyes, following the overly excited doll into the bathroom. Rosemary sets the candle on the counter and explains.

"Okay! So we have to turn out the lights and look into the mirror and repeat 'petal doll' three times. Got it." The other dolls sigh and nod. "Awawa! Thyme, get the light."

Thyme just nods, turning out the light then joining the other two in front of the mirror.

"Ready?" Asks Rosemary.

"Just get on with it.

Sage and Thyme looked on stunned, but Rosemary had a look of smug victory.

All three dolls looked at each other, blinking in confusion.

headcanon bc yes (HELP I WROTE A WHOLE ASS ESSAY)

ok so i was scrolling through the sb discord server and wound up in the astro announcements channel. and i found this post from like idk how long ago i forgot BUT. apparently solarballs was inaccurate about planet twitter so im just gonna dump some hcs

so to clarify about all this stuff heres some terminology: planet 9: a hypothetical ninth planet which could explain some gravitational anomalies in the orbits of some stuff. planet x: umbrella term, represents any unknown planet beyond neptune and not just planet 9, anything!! meaning pluto was once planet x until it was found yada yda ya fifth giant: potential former planet that orbited around saturn and uranus, and got too close to saturn (ooh very romantic) causing both saturn and jupiter's gravity to eject it

all of these terms overlap each other as - planet x could be planet 9 or fifth giant (if it followed the story proposed in original solarballs) - planet 9 would be a planet x or maybe the ejected fifth giant - fifth giant would be a planet x or it could be the proposed planet 9

also theres nibiru but its a fictional cataclysmic event that should have happened in 2012, but it didnt so no nibiru. cool name tho and headcanon!! earth is slightly kinda scared of planet 9 bc he keeps mixing him up with nibiru hahhahhhha

so all of this just links up. heres a diagram i made on canva if u dont understand:

so if solarballs didnt get planet twitter wrong all of these would be separate characters except for planet x bc its an umbrella term and would manifest as a concept rather than an actual thing

also we dont really know how the hypothetical planet 9 could have formed. it may have formed near uranus and neptune and just slowly drifted out, but something i noticed was according to wikipedia (amazing source!!) was that "it may be the core of a giant planet that was ejected from its original orbit by Jupiter during the genesis of the Solar System." which is very oh! as this means that

a) fifth giant was big big since planet 9 was hypothesised to be somewhere between earth and neptune (size arc mention) and if that was just the core... and b) planet 9 is, or is descended, or is a fraction of the soul of fifth giant!

to solve this i think he should just be really mysterious and stuff like no one knows... because we dont know either... :D

anyways im just gonna write how i think this should have panned out if solarballs researched properly. as the biggest gyat of the solar system and ringmaster 4000 lite kicked fifth giant out (grand tack!!) obviously theyd both be paranoid of him coming back and kicking their asses. since fifth giant got too close to saturn and not jupi hed probably be more paranoid but mr smartass is indeed a smartass so he just took all the blame for his lover awwwwww (jupiturn on top old men yaoi)

anyways planet 9 if it was infact the core of fifth giant or just was socially isolated for a long time theyd probably hold kind of a grudge to the solar system bc theyre there but no one cared and, again, ejected fifth giant! so yeah, he goes to solar system bc makemake was a nerd and now hmm, its unclear if this new arrival is some random ahh or fifth giant descendant!!

so here i think jupi would just spill out of fear bc hes honest and feels like the type to SPILL and he just doesnt know who and then his wife saturn is like noooooo and imo planet 9 would just be confused asf bc again, core of fifth giant, probably forgot a lot bc thats what isolation does to you just look at neppy my bb1!!!! and yeah hes gone and planet 9 who doesnt know wtf is going on just takes the spot of jupi

And it inspired me to talk about MY ocs :D

I mention in passing that I am in fact writing a novel, but I try to avoid saying too much to prevent spoilers buuuuut I think I can keep it vague enough while still rambling <3

The novel (technically a novella) is called 'The Shadow Walker' and here's a draft of a blurb:

With no friends, an absent mom, an abusive dad, and a shadow that inexplicably went missing; Nicholas Walker is convinced his life couldn’t possibly get any worse. But everything changes when he meets something (or someone) who may or may not want him dead.

ANYWAY THIS IS MY BOY NICHOLAS

He's 12 years old and a selective mute and my scrungliest little blorbo who experiences the horrors™. He doesn't have any friends, is neglected by his parents, and all in all has a bad time before the book starts :(

The only source of healthy food in the house (he borrows money from his dad and goes to the store alone) but is severely malnourished from eating nothing more than reheated takeout his dad left in the fridge. Nick doesn't talk verbally unless it's to his dad (out of necessity) and otherwise converses in ASL (which I'm learning for this book <3). Loves pretty buildings and stargazing, has a dream of visiting things like Notre Dame and the colloseum some day and is fascinated by architecture. I just realised that this kid would adore Minecraft but anyway after things get better for him he's given Lego models of like the eiffel tower and he loves them :)

Gonna stop before I spend the entire post talking about my boy and move onto

You know that thing that's like, "Not a bad person, just a bad parent"? Yeah. That's her. She ran away from her abusive boyfriend and left Nick behind out of fear, since she didn't know if she could survive by herself, much less with a child in tow. She ends up leaving with her best friend and they travel around the world a lot for their job. They're a musician who plays back up for bands in different places and Rachel ends up learning to play some stuff too after watching them for so long. The two end up dating at some point and they've been together ever since. Rachel still sends Nicholas a postcard every time she travels to a new place, but she doesn't have the courage to actually see him in person yet. Also fun fact. She's descended from a woman who was killed for being a 'witch' during the salem trials. This is relevant to the story :3

Lexi is a single mom who grew up kinda spoiled and is still figuring out how to raise a kid. Her parents are kinda helpful about it but also she doesn't want to raise Chelsea how she was raised so hgjhrj. Chelsea was orignally planned to be autistic since this entire book is a transparent cover for neurodivergent rep but the version of her in my head is so very ADHD instead. They only show up near the end of the book so I'm still experimenting with them a bit but Lexi is a huge book worm and Chelsea loves unicorns, like, I mean in the 'mythology is cool way' not the 'stereotypical girl behaviour' way. She does love pink things and sparkles though

haii, im one of the anons that's always asking u to talk about your ocs. ive noticed you posting more recently with ocs tagged something like "uni 1" and i was wondering if you could talk a little about that universe and what it's all about (and maybe some of the characters from it if you want!!) also tysm for always indulging me, all your replies are a treat to read and the stuff you write is really cool! ok bye!

there's no way to be succinct about this therefore i'll ramble THANKS FOR ASKING!!!!!!

theres four main dimensions: heaven, hell, earth, and the spirit world. the spirit world is connected to the earth, and it is able to exude an influence on areas where the barrier between the two is weak enough. in these weak areas, where influence is particularly strong, you can see anomalies such as humans born with supernatural talents: for instance, luca, along with his mother's half of the family, are able to see and talk to ghosts. there's also taylor, whose family secret is being (cool) werewolves, and henrietta being a vampire (she was turned by some entity from the spirit world). given the rarity of these occurrences, however, there isn't any widespread, consensus belief in the supernatural (definitely a lot of speculation tho, a little more than irl)

heaven is home to angels. while there is some inspiration taken from traditional stories, these are not christian angels. they are an ancient, dragonic species said to have been created by an unnamed cosmic entity. as legends go, they were once pure dragons without free will, designed as playthings by their creator before eventually being shaped into the image and character of man; humanity, having evolved organically in a universe hostile to life, was said to have moved the entity and inspired it to change its own creation. no present-day angels live from this era of their supposed history, but the idolization and fixation on humanity remains a tenant of their society.

while long-lived, war and disease is able to kill angels. death is hard, but not impossible. the biggest war that occurred, one that killed a lot of angels, was the angelic-demonic war, otherwise known as the war of heaven and hell.

heaven is isolated from the rest of the dimensions, exclusionary as a matter of policy. interloping with the spirit world, human world, and, eventually, once it was created, demon world, is frowned upon. tensions began to grow in heaven as more and more angels began to interact with spirits, trading their own powers with those from spirits, altering their appearances and abilities. while initially punished and isolated within heaven as a deterrent, eventually numbers of these "deviants" grew so great that a war erupted. it concluded with the creation of hell, and the mass exodus of demons.

demons may be defined by their origins but they have no consistent set of abilities--some are long-lived, some are short-lived, some are succubi, others are descended from kelpies, and so on. it is so hard to consistently label them that they are often mistaken for spirits; most are very far removed from their angelic roots, with few having been alive during the war, but there exist some. one of my demons, yilmaz, was alive for it, and if i were to use him as an example: he made a deal with a grim reaper, barn, to acquire the abilities of a reaper himself (he had his reasons), and you can see this in his bird-like appearance and scythe tail.

hell has a large human energy economy, with it as a primary import--that is, many feed off humans for their main source energy, although not exclusively. some feed off of spirits, others on other demons, and some eat synthesized alternatives and food. it just varies on the type of demon. angels don't rely on humans in the same way, but have come to view themselves as the maintainers of their world's barriers--that is, they ensure that demons, spirits, and even angels aren't haphazardly revealing themselves or harming humans. while their society remains exclusionary, they have undertaken diplomatic relationships with specific sectors and "industries" of the spirit world, such as death; for instance, while most human spirits will cross over themselves with time, or immediately, some linger and cause problems. spirit guides, such as zacharias, help cross over wayward spirits. he is on earth a lot, but is most often incorporeal like the spirits he deals with (but he sometimes takes up a tangible human form). this means he is constantly making run-ins with grim reapers, who he cooperates and works with. however, "intermingling" is still frowned upon. as a side note, zacharias himself is somewhat of an outcast and doesn't agree w basically most of angel laws so yeah.

anyways, the spirit world is pretty much a sandbox of any folklore or legend you can think of. its a big place with different districts, not limited to any one cultural inspiration. because there's no limits i've ended up with a pretty bloated cast but i love them all :). some of my spirit characters have human alternate designs that they use when on earth because they're not allowed to appear otherwise. some characters, like mitsuki and yue, lived on earth in their true forms before rules were so strict and their presence wasn't a risk to their safety but those days r long gone. they all kinda coalesce in one location in the human world, in a specific college town, so most of my human or human-passing characters are either students or faculty or have some other reason to be there.

when the universe was originally conceived, a lot of attention was focused on this college setting and interactions between evanora, my one normal human character, and everyone else, but the project has evolved beyond the scope of her and i wouldnt even describe her as the main character anymore, the universe has become more like a larger collection of separate, sometimes interwoven stories i zoom in and out on. i don't have any particular, big ambitions for the universe but it is funny to think that i've been working on this since like...2018-ish and i'm happy to share with everyone!!!

Here we go!! (Btw: ~ = Around/Aprox.)

490~ A.D : The Pizzamancer is born out of pretty much thin air and magic, He travels The World, marveled by it, eventually he creates The Tower, he traps it in a time bubble and locks himself in it to starts working on Making his own world.

500~ : The first pocket dimension is made: The Secret dimension, He now needs someone to take care of this dimension, A human he had met a while back, offers himself, The magic turns him into The Secret King, eventually they both created the first Life Form; a Cheese Ameba.

650~ : To The Tower's inhabitants, Millenia went by, they grew, multiplied, diversified, and the First Sapient beings start to appear.

700~ : The gates open and Pizzamancer, along with The TowerFolk, leave The Tower and they meet The Humans for the first time.

720~ : Out of jelousy and greed, wanting his powers, Multiple Kings declare War on The Pizzamancer... and so the War begins.

725~ : Multiple humans die, some end up revived by The Pizzamancer becoming "The Heroes of The Great War" one of those heroes was Vicento Spaghetti, the first member of the Spaguettis.

850~ : The War is Over...

|

855~ : Impaztia is created, using his powers, Pizzamancer separates it from the main land, Moving to the Northest Coast of what will one day be U.S.A.

940~ : With his body falling apart, He creates His Magnum Opus: The PillarFolk (Guardians of The Tower) and The Pizzakin (Descendants of the Pizzamancer) as he begins to pass away, they all create The Pocket Watch to hold his Powers, eventually he peacefully passes away.

20's : Chester "PizzaMan", a Human, enters The Tower and somehow becomes a Pizzakin, He kills the legitimate ruler, Steals the Pocket Watch and forcefully takes over The Tower.

50's~ : PizzaBoy's Pizz-Pizza is Founded.

60's : Totino Pizzaboy and Caesar Pizzaboy are created, made to be the perfect 3 year old boys to be the company's face.

64 : Totino and Caesar run away and Totino gets adopted by Peppino (He is 21 at this point).

65 : Pizzaboy's Pizz-Pizza goes Bankruptcy.

80 : Pizzaman hires the Bosses and Fakey is created.

84 : The events of "Pizza Tower" occur, Totino is brainwashed to fight Peppino and Pino wins, The Tower crumbles, The Towerfolk move to the Main Town and Pizzaman disappears with The Pocket Watch.

86~ : The Main cast get married to their life partners, The kiddos are eventually born and Totino goes to college to study Marketing.

87 : Totino and Caesar reunite after many years.

88~ : The Towerfolk has finally fully settled into Impaztia, so has The Tower's Magic.

93 : Pizzaman comes back and starts the events of "Spaghetti Family" (AKA: Pizza Tower 2) culminating on The Second Crumbling, Gerome and John recovering The Pocket Watch and PizzaMan's Death.
