In 1890, painter Vincent Van Gough was troubled by an invisible monster that he alone could see. He found help with the sudden appearance of a time traveling alien known as the Doctor (Doctor 11) and his companion Amy. ("Vincent and the Doctor", Doctor Who, vlm 3, TV) Later that year, Vincent was inspired to paint a picture of the TARDIS, the Doctor’s time/space machine, exploding. ("The Pandorica Opens", Doctor Who, TV)

The Bear (Season 3)
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
The Bear (Season 3, 2024, USA)
Creator: Christopher Storer
Directors: Christopher Storer, Duccio Fabbri, Ayo Edebiri & Joanna Calo
Mini-review:
I'm honestly surprised by the amount of hate this season has been getting from fans. Was it as good as the previous two? Maybe not, but it's still miles ahead of almost everything else on TV these days. I guess the problem is the first two had specific endpoints in mind (saving The Beef and building The Bear, respectively) and this one doesn't, which is what makes it feel rather adrift. Still, I don't think that's a bad thing, per se. This shift means plot takes a step back to focus almost completely on the inner workings of the restaurant and the characters, which in turn helps us learn so much about all of them. Seriously, how can you say it's a bad season when we get episodes like the one about Tina or the one about Natalie and her mother? And sure, the plot might not advance too much, but we get a true acting masterclass in every episode. So yeah, this season of The Bear might be slower and more contemplative, but in my opinion it's almost as momentous as the first two.

'As fans continue to dissect the latest episode of Doctor Who, Wild Blue Yonder, Russell T Davies has revealed some expository dialogue which was cut from the original script.
The dialogue in question would have taken place when The Doctor and Donna were looking out into empty space at the edge of the universe.
Davies explained the reason for the cut on Instagram, saying: "Okay, so I know the Doctor has been to the edge of the universe before, and further. The First Doctor went to Quinnis 'in the fourth universe'. The Fourth Doctor went to the Planet of Evil! And the 13th was on board Tecteun's ship in-between universes.
"So, this is the scene with the Doctor & Donna looking out at the nothingness, Draft 3, 17.04.22, where I acknowledged that. And then I cut it, because [snoring emoji]. But still, the Doctor was thinking it! True fact!"
The dialogue in question, which was posted on Instagram by Davies, saw the Doctor say: "We're so far out. Past the Condensate Reefs. Over the Realm of the Boltzmann Brains. Beyond matter. And light. And Life."
Donna would then ask whether the Doctor had been out that far before, to which he would say: "Oh I've straddled multiverses. But only inside magnificent Timeships. To stand here like this... Physically. Unprotected. Right on the edge. No, never. No one ever has. Until us. And this ship."
In the comments to Davies's post, former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat joked that he had "notes", before going on to jokingly request that all previous stories referenced are shown in flashbacks and that the story features more characters and a different setting.
Wild Blue Yonder mostly took place at the edge of the universe on a single spaceship, but also featured a surprise opening with Isaac Newton, played by Nathaniel Curtis, and a touching scene at the end including Bernard Cribbins's last performance.'

Curtis Moffat :: Woman looking over shoulder in front seat of a car. c.1925-30 (made). Victoria & Albert Museum. London.
"Beyond his London portrait studio, which attracted high society sitters, Moffat experimented with a handheld camera to make modern and often playful images that reflected the youthful energy of the 1920s. Here, a woman – possibly one of the ‘golden’ Guinness sisters – glances back at the camera, ready to ride off at speed in an open-topped car."

Doctor Who :)
Favorite episode and why
vincent and the doctor <3 it's just such a warm aesthetic and it has a lot of what i love about doctor who. curtis' writing is just so great and i think the whole last act is just wonderful. it's also got some gorgeous visuals.
Funniest/crackiest/it’s-terrible-but-I-still-love-it episode/scene
oh man. i really love love and monsters and i don't care how dumb the alien is it's truly such a comfort episode for me
It’s-terrible-and-I-hate it episode/scene
oof there are a lot of moffat era i don't like. i hated day of the doctor i HAATE let's kill hitler, i hate girl in the fireplace and. i love u chibs but i didn't love the flux storyline
Best episode/scene for my favorite character
oh man. rose tyler has so many great moments but i love her monologue in the s1 finale where she says "it was a better life and i don't mean aliens and spaceships and stuff that don't matter. the doctor showed me a better way of living your life. you don't just give u;. that you don't just let things happen. you make a stand you say no!! you have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away and i can't --" all of that was from memory btw that's how much i luv her. and that's the ep she becomes the bad wolf so it's great for that reason too!
Best episode/scene for my favorite ship
ohhhh man. im pretty obsessed with nine's regeneration scene for him and rose, and i really love tenrose's last scene in end of time it's so gorgeous. and as sad as it is, doomsday is really a great episode for doctorrose.
Best episode/scene for a particular supporting character
so martha doesn't really count since she's for real a main character but.... human nature/family of blood is a GREAT storyline for her
Best episode/scene for a character I don’t usually like
oof i really dislike river song but her introduction episode is awesome. and part of why i dislike her bc how do u. see that much potential and do That
Most visually beautiful or interesting episode/scene
oh god doctor who has SO MANY that's really hard. u know what, returning to the van gogh episode i quite love when the night sky turns into starry night
Most emotionally affecting episode/scene
well i mean... doomsday obviously... but i think i cried the most during i don't want to go and wilfred its my honor. that was BRUTAL
Most powerful use of music in an episode/scene
murray gold is so wonderful he's just brilliant and i could never pick between his themes, but i kind of ADORE a dazzling end like instant chills when that bass line shows up whew
Episode/scene that changed my perspective on the show
dalek is kinda when it all changes bc it just gets so real u know!!!
Episode/scene where the acting stands out
oh wow i love the whole cast, there's really no main cast actors that i don't think absolutely knocked it out of the park. i guess i would like to mention jenna louise coleman's performance during face the raven, but tbh clara is a character i don't really love writing-wise but jlc is such a talented actress that she breathed a lot of life into what i thought was a somewhat poorly written character
Overall best-written episode
BEST written? that is so hard to do on a show like doctor who. i mean blink is blink and it's brilliant and i could never dispute that. but i might have to go with human nature and family of blood its so brilliant and subversive and well acted and structured
send me a show!
