I'm fond of the idea that Seekers are a distinct yet naturally occuring type of Transformer. I was VERY iffy on that headcanon at first because a lot of people presenting it went about the concept in ways that made me unsure and kind of worried (LOTS of woobification and borderline racist approaches there) but the idea of toys that were formed from the same mold becoming characters who identify with one another is such a warm thought to me. I also really like the older term 'Skyraiders' a lot and I kinda hope the name makes a return. Also also I wish people were more unique with Seeker concepts instead of copy-and-pasting "they're BIRD robots" because oml- THERE'RE MULTIPLE KINDS OF BIRDS <- Bird owner that used to work at a bird store who based her fan continuity Seeker headcanons off of ducks, mineral formations, and insects

Beast Wars II. Your honor, I love the goofy animal show where there's TWO 'Megatrons' and Starscream is actually so normal it's funny. Also Tasmania Kid and the Insectrons are all my sons. I'm so sad that all these characters have only reappeared as background filler for the 30+ years since their release. Ironically, Scylla (ugly anime girl who is a simp trope 😔) is one of the few members of the cast who has become reoccuring and literally she is so pretty and she deserves that win. If Rise of the Beasts gets a proper sequel that brings in more beast Transformers, PLEASE I would love to see some BWII bots come back.

As little as it was, I wish more people were aware of IDW1's approach to crying. IDW1 does it's best to cement the idea that the Transformers are alien robots (which I love!) but they still humanized Windblade's grief by showing her crying over Chela's death. The writer went on to explain that Transformers don't 'cry', but Windblade was so overwhelmed with emotion that the 'film' on her eyes 'melted' and honestly that's so cool??? Waiter! More roboticization of human traits please! /ref

omg i remember being super torn on if i wanted to see stampy or not. like on one hand hes my favorite beastie so of course i wanna see more of my little guy, but on the other hand the odds of him Dying Horribly were just too high.

but honestly i think a lot of the characters i wanted to see had at least some slight appearance? idk! neo is my favorite bw show and most of its characters showed up at some point. tho i think heinrads was more just a little shoutout than anything else. i know i rly liked seeing powerhug and break (i loved breaks #hashtagspeak). and silverbolt was neat, since he was a different character than fuzor silverbolt or g1 silverbolts beast mode

At OTFCC 2004 a woman named Michelle Carolus voiced a female version of Optimus Prime in a live scrip reading drama that was a crossover of G1, BW, and RID01 written by Simon Furman.

That version of Optimus Prime was likely the inspiration to make a full fledge Prime known as Splendid Yellow Convoy for the Precursor World continuity. Splendid Yellow Convoy is the leader of the Yellow Order, made up of female transformers. She shows up in the Generations Selects Special comics. Here is the link the scrip drama on YouTube!

Lord Imperious Delirious first appearance was in 1998 in The Transformers in 3-D and would later reappear in Beast Wars: Uprising. He was originally created to be a living time capsule memory bank for an entire species, but all of the collective thoughts and knowledge gave him a life and will of his own. He is now the leader of a group called The Destructons, whose main goal is to... well, destroy! If you'd like to read his comics almost all Transformers comics can be found on readcomiconline!

In the Japanese comic strips in the Legends Universe, Starscream from Beast Wars II is the owner of a "little brother cafe"- a play on "little sister cafe"- a type of maid cafe where the staff refers to patrons as big brother/big sister.

Despite being an all male cafe, BWII Starscream hired an amnesiac Windblade from a different universe because he felt bad for her, something Armada Starscream found out when he offered to work in her place after she fell ill. The workers are also referred to with Japanese slang term for gay men. The workers included Archadis, Gas Skunk, Nightscream, and Airazor (who was changed to be male in Japan), who were all gay coded in their shows in Japan. I haven't been able to find the translations of the comics yet but there are full synopsis on the wiki here!

Meet Artemis and Moon! Robots designed by Gaia's inhabitants to keep the planet safe long after they're gone!

Gaia, throughout the show, is heavily implied to be Earth, so humans were the ones to originally build Artemis (the girl) and Moon (the rabbit) and stick them in the moon (the moon) as a failsafe to ensure that the planet would be protected even after humans were no longer on it. It's unclear if the humans in Beast Wars II went extinct or if they simply found other planets to inhabit after the climate became too dangerous for human life on Earth, but we do see remnants of cities from time to time in the show. Artemis and Moon care deeply for planet Gaia and it's creatures and do whatever they can to protect it, even if it means putting their own lives at risk. Artemis is also shown to care for beings that do not originate from Gaia, developing a crush on both Starscream and Scuba, and stating that she cares for both Galvatron and Lio Convoy and doesn't want to see either get killed. According to Vector Prime, The 13 visited Earth a long time ago and ended up in ancient Greece. To better blend in with their surroundings, they took on holoforms to interact with humans as they sat atop a mountain as not to frighten them. The humans still mistook them as Gods, probably because Liege Maximo, the drama queen he is, couldn't resist taking the form of a beautiful woman that emerging from the sea on a giant shell, causing the legend of Aphrodite to be born.

Megatronus, being so full of anger, birthed the legend of Ares, the God of War.

Solus Prime was known as Hephaestus, for all her hard work.

Alpha Trion with his infinite wisdom became Athena.

Prima became Zeus (and as a Greek mythology nerd I have to question what the absolute fuck he got up to) and Nexus Maximus was Hera.

Onyx took form to hunt and was known as Artemis and Autonomous became Apollo.

Alchemist Prime became Dionysus for his delightful concoctions.

Adaptus became known as Poseidon after his lure to Earth's chaotic sea and Mortilus became Hades for his mystery and solitude.

Epistemus became known as Demeter after helping humanity with agriculture.

And Vector himself was Hermes!

Persephone is mentioned too, but she was not one of the Primes, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't even Cybertronian! Apparently, she was the cause of a few arguments between Epistemus and Mortilus.

So... Any thoughts on BWII?

I love it so far! I'm halfway through the show rn!

I love almost all the characters and I like the whole setting of "Gaia". It's obvious it's Earth and that it got so fucked up towards human life that they had to scatter across the galaxy (that is what I'm choosing to believe anyway bc if I think of the alternative I get too sad).

Also I love how humans just... made a robot girl and robot bunny and stuck them in the moon to look after planet for them bc even if they can't live there anymore it's like... this is still home and we need a housesitter while we're away.

Also this Starscream is 100% gay he and BB are definitely boyfriends and Thrust and Dirge are definitely boyfriends too.

AND GODDDS MEGASTORM I LOVE HIM. He's such a little shit. I know there's a Starscream in the show but Megastorm is definitely the Starscream character and it's so funny bc as soon as Galvatron stands up he's kissing his big brother's ass again like he didn't just try to dunk him in a volcano. Cain instinct is strong in this one.

There's of course some... not that great stuff in it since it was from the 90s, like the way the Jointron brothers are portrayed, the whole queer mantis bit (felt homophobic), and then Apache's name is questionable (though as far as I know he hasn't been made an offensive caricature of Native Americans but I could be wrong on that)

Any characters we did not see in Beast Wars Uprising that you would have liked to see? I would have liked to see Stampy and BWII Starscream personally.

Some bots that come to mind are Dinobot who's honor bond nature would've made it hard for him to work with the resistance. Was pretty disappointed that Primal was basically offed by Blackarachnia and Nightscream since I feel if if he was still alive, they could've used his Beast Machines characterization where he almost became Lio Convoy but Cheetor was able to pull him back. Honestly much of the original BW cast being alive during the current events of Uprising would've been interesting but ya know, they're kinda dead. Maybe Nightscream as well with seeing the revolution through a young bot's eyes along with a reincarnation of his original show experience with the second Vehicon Apocalypse
