So... I promised myself I was going to cut back on the politics posts, because I need to protect my mental peace. But this one...

ICE has reportedly been picking up members of the Navajo Nation, as well as members of other Native nations, in urban areas of Arizona and telling them that they do not accept either state IDs or Certificates of Indian Blood (CIBs) as proof of U.S. citizenship. ICE is detaining them as having no identifiable U.S. citizenship.

So, you know.... the actual, true native citizens of the soil we call the United States. Yeah.

Also, here are your rights…

1. If stopped by ICE on the street/in public

- keep calm.

- ask if you are free to go, if the answer is yes, walk away

- if the answer is no, do not walk away

- do not answer any questions

- ask for a lawyer

- do not talk about your immigration status or how/when you came to the united states

- if an officer searches you, say ‘I do not consent to a search’

2. If an ICE agent comes to your home

- do not open the door.

- ask the officer to slip a valid search warrant under your door. A valid search warrant will be a) signed by a judge or magistrate— not an immigration official, b) show the address to be searched, and c) state in detail when the agent will search.

Hey TME's stop playing fucking semantics when trying to denounce TME/TMA. Transfeminists obviously use Affected as an adjective when discussing the term TMA while detractors exclusively use it as a verb.

Just because you HAVE BEEN affected doesn't mean you are TMA. TMA people are not people who have transmisogyny affect them. They are people for whom transmisogyny affects every single part of our day to day lives.

Transmisogyny affects when I go out, where I go out, how often I CAN go out, what I have to wear, how I have to carry my voice, how I have to regulate my emotions, who I talk to, how I talk to them, and literally every aspect of my social life has to be viewed through the lense of transmisogyny for my personal safety.

Individual Experience is not the same as a constant lived reality.
