It's going veeeery slowly, but I'm making my way through Beast Wars II. When reading the animated TF series list a long time ago, I originally thought it would be a sequel to Beast Wars. Quite the misleading name. I can't decide if Artemis and Moon are more fun or annoying to me X ]

Inferno/Megatron (bw)
Nightscream/Cheetor (bm)
Jetstorm/Nightscream (bm)
Hound/Prowl (g1)
Wheeljack/Hotshot (ut)
Sideways/Thrust (ut)
Blurr/Hot Rod (g1)
Scavenger/Starscream (ut)
Soundwave/Sideways (ut)
Starscream/Red Alert (g1)
Magmatron/Guiledart (bw neo)
Guliedart/Archadis (bw neo)
Sling/Saberback (bw neo)
Scylla/Big Horn (bw II)
(Psst- Thuundercracker/Snowcat should be labeled energon, or UT if it makes that easier for you with the Unicron trilogy pairings ;), my apologies if I put too much)
I'll take all except the first, I don't think Inferno/Megatron is that rare when it comes to ships for BW pretty much everyone into BW on here ships it either seriously or as a joke from what I've seen
Also thanks! I haven't seen any of the unicron trilogy so I don't know which characters are from which show in it so it helps greatly if people put the actual show name otherwise I'm just labeling them all as Armada 😅

The Decade Cast are assigned some Autobots and Decepticons that they have to share amongst all four of them. Get ready for a long list Kari-chan because there are so many of these guys.
Their assigned Autobots are the Aerialbots, comprised of the Silverbolt the acrophobic Concorde leader, Air Raid the impulsive and fearless F-15 Eagle, Fireflight the absent-minded F-4 Phantom, Skydive the gifted strategist F-16A Fighting Falcon, Slingshot the insecure loud-mouthed Sea Harrier, Alpha Bravo the insecure slowpoke helicopter, Powerglide the show off A-10 Warthog, Universe Airazor the small but fierce F-22 Raptor, Barrel Roll the mellowed Cybertronian jet, Ro-Tor the AH-64 Apache helicopter, and Storm Fire the Space Shuttle, who five to six of them can combine to form stagnant Superion, the Air Team, comprised of Storm Jet the rowdy Cybertronian SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, Sky Shadow the A-10 Thunderbolt II, Terradive the A-10 Thunderbolt II, Treadshot the ambitious F-22 Raptor, and Windrazor the veteran F-22 Raptor, who combine into Superion Maximus, the naive and cocky Cybertronian jet twin brothers of Skyfire and Skystorm, who combine into the powerful Safeguard, and Breakaway the skilled F-35 Lighting II.
Their assigned Decepticons are the Seekers, comprised of Starscream the formerly treacherous now humble and deadly Air Commander, Skywarp the chaotic but dumb and cowardly jet, Thundercracker the egotistical jet who can write movies, Dirge the mournful and greedy conehead jet, Ramjet the dumb and lying conehead jet, Thrust the loud-mouthed and envious conehead jet, Bitstream the genius jet, Hotlink the gadget geek jet, Nacelle the eager jet, Sunstorm the sycophant and narcissistic jet, Acid Storm the quiet green jet, Ion Storm the blue jet, Nova Storm the yellow jet, Cloudcover the radioactive conehead jet, Sandstorm the desert warfare jet, Blazewake the young and brash jet, Red Wing the brave but cautious jet, Slipstream the strategic female jet, Cybertron Thundercracker the jokester and goofball jet, Armada Thrust the master manipulator and tactician jet, Dreadwing the cool-minded jet, Skyquake the short-tempered jet, Blitzwing the loudmouthed triple-changer tank and jet jerk, the Combatrons, comprised of BW Starscream the narcissist and snobby fighter jet, BB the dumb brute stealth bomber, BW Dirge the comedian and gourmet chef fighter jet, and BW Thrust the comedian figther jet, Darkwing the gloomy Tornado GR1 fighter jet, Dreadwind the depressed F-16 Fighting Falcon jet, G2 Dreadwing the dumb pacifist stealth bomber, G2 Smokescreen the manipulative fighter jet, and Megaplex, the F-22 Raptor fighter jet clone of Megatron who is good instead of evil.
All of these Autobot and Decepticons jets reside nearby within the giant Decepticon city Metrotitan. Optimus has assigned Starscream to lead this group and he also serves as a leader for the Decade cast because of the chaos duo being well look at them.
Tumblr media
What are the Riders reaction to the Decade Cast's assigned Cybertronians being most of the flying ones and Starscream being assigned as the leader for both this group of Cybertronians, but also as the leader for the Decade cast due to the chaos duo being chaotic.
Tumblr media
I think they would question anyone assigning Tsukasa and Daiki robots they could possibly order around to do their chaotic bidding... but I guess they'll all count on Natsumi, Onodera and hopefully Starscream to keep them in line

I feel like TF fandom is particularly bad in that area on tumblr. The finale of CV comes out and all people post about is their fkin ships. And don't get me started on how it's almost impossible to get fic noticed if you aren't writing idk explicit megop shit or something. It's so frustrating.
While shipping as a whole isn't really bad thing (I mean I love Starop for crying out loud) I have noticed of some of the more unpopular TF shows don't have popular pairings in them? Megatron and Optimus don't have a history together in Armada so most people don't bother with that version. BW II Starscream is canonically gay but because his significant other isn't Jetfire or Megatron people don't really bother with him. You can also make the argument that people don't find his BW II design appealing enough whereas tfp Starscream is sexualized to hell and back. And if you're just starting out as a TF artist new to the fandom you better have some very good art skills and draw some very popular characters or ships if you want to get noticed. Because good luck trying to gain followers for being a dedicated Victory Star Saber fan or only making content for RID 2001.

So about them TF animes
Had been thinking about TF villains and the sweet “pure evil” trope that I oh so love and what it means to humanize a villain.
Had a talk some time ago where my discussion partners basically said that pure evil versions of Megatron aren’t good and that a story about war should have more grey morality.
You know my opinion on the matter- I fucking love Megatron as a pure evil villain, I don’t care about his motives, I just wanna see him be evil and have fun :D
One thing I said is that the anime shows tend to not give the villains any real reason to be evil while the cartoons after G1 did, which led to the conclusion that the animes aren’t as good as the cartoons in regards to villain writing.
Lemme make a counter argument to this:
NO. The TF anime villains are not worse than the cartoon villains. The anime villains tend to far more humanized than the cartoon villains!
Do the villains from japanese G1, Beast Wars II, RiD01 and the Unicron Trilogy have grey morality about them and any reasonable motive behind being evil? No.
Do Beast Wars, Beast Machines, TFA, TFP, Cyberverse and WFC (IDW too) villains have any reasonable motive for being evil? Yes.
- Beast Wars Megs says he’s fighting against Maximal oppression, - Beast Machines Megs says he fights for harmony, - TFA Megs says he fights to return home, - TFP Megs started as a revolutionary, same as Cyberverse (and IDW), - RiD15 Steeljaw says he wants to create a decepticon homeworld, - WFC is the same as TFP and is special to me because he is seen to be far more conflicted about his methods than any of the above.
“Good” motive, ey?
But lemme tell you one thing- Beast Era Megatron is an evil bitch. Nothing about what he says is true. TFA Megs isn’t a good person either.  TFP Megs even less. (and no we don’t care about his last minute redemption in the movie) Cyberverse never demonstrated any true motivation to fight for something good either. (WFC is another box and I don’t wanna go too deep into IDW because I haven’t read most of it, but I know that in Phase 1 he gives no shits and is just evil for evil sake) The idea of them having “good motives” means nothing, because their characters are still vile and evil.
What about the anime villains? They don’t have any good motive or backstory. They do evil for evil sake. Only BWII Galvatron can be said to have a good motive, but that is basically “peace through tyranny” and it doesn’t get explored as he basically spouts his reasoning at the very end.  But besides Headmasters’ Megazarak, Victory’s Deszaras and RiD01/Cybertron Megatron, who are truly some evil bitches, most anime Decepticon leaders are more humanized than those of the cartoons, despite not having a good motive. Headmasters’ Galvatron is a far more nicer version of him than in G1. He is shown to be friendly and hugging his men on multiple occasions.  Masterforce’s Overlord is a caring leader for his men! He went against the true evil leader when that one tortured two Decepticons and joined the Autobots in the end! Also Overlord is a robot formed by Giga and his wife Mega, who act as parents to the Decepticons under their wing.  BWII Galvatron is a truly chill and nice boss with a soft spot for his younger brother, with whom he has some nice and heartwarming development in the end. Armada Megatron is shown to care for his men on multiple occasions and agrees to join forces with the Autobots against Unicron because of Starscream. He even had a sweet moment with the human characters.  Energon Megatron/Galvatron has some moments of genuine worry and care for his men too, especially Starscream, who is his favourite.  And these villains DONT have a good motive for fighting a war! They are evil for evil sake, written as evil villains to oppose heroic heroes, and they still got more nuance then the villains who DO got good motives! When do TFA or TFP Megs ever show genuine care for their men??? TFP Megs didn’t even show care about Soundwave being captured! And TFA is only nice when it benefits him and it is quite clearly only used for manipulation.  Beast Era Megs couldn’t care less about the safety of his men. And Cyberverse didn’t even want to help against the Quintessons and everything he did afterwards was to save his own ass.
So what’s the good motive for then??? It doesn’t make them more nuanced and it doesn’t make them less evil!
In general, the anime Decepticons are far more humanized then the cartoon ones. You see them caring for another or having friendly interactions far more often than in the cartoons.  Headmasters’ got Sixshot as a genuine nice guy when he’s not ordered to do evil and leaving the Decepticons, Masterforce has the Decepticon humans be genuine friends with nice banter and the Godmaster brothers caring for each other as well + Sixknight switching sides,  Victory has the Dinoforce who all care for one another and even the Breastforce are shown moments of liking each other + Greatshot switching sides, BWII’s has Starscream and BB love each other as well as Thrust and Dirge + the Seacons being a really loving family, RiD01 has Sky-Byte as a villain who does good shit the whole time with the Predacons liking him, Armada has Demolishor being a caring teammate and Starscream as a tortured soul who is secretely very kind and switching sides, Energon has Demolishor and Cyclonus shown to be very good friends more than in Armada, Mirage being a lovesick fool, Starscream being saved by Scorponok and Sixshot loving his brother and wanting to avenge him, Cybertron has the four remaining Decepticons become buddies and end the show deciding to do evil together, after helping the Autobots save Planet Animatros. And not to forget that Soundwave and Sideways were genuine friends.
I am not saying that none of the cartoons have humanized Decepticons (roll call: BW Dinobot, Blackarachnia, Rampage + that scene where Inferno plays cards with Wasp and Quickstrike, BW Jetstorm and Thrust, TFP Breakdown, Knock Out and Dreadwing, Most Cons in Cyberverse + Globber switching sides) But you see, in those cartoons people argue that the villains have a good motive! And you got less examples of those Decepticons switching sides, being genuine friends or shown to care for their teammates.
While the Decepticons in the animes DONT have any good motives! They don’t fight for anything good and they didn’t start wanting to fight for anything good, and yet they are still shown to get along better as a team than the Decepticons in the cartoons, who are SAID to have once fought for something good!
So what does it matter how they started as a movement? How does the “had a good motive once” feature into their dynamics and actions?
Tl;DR The animes not giving the Cons a real motive to be evil is NOT a problem my peeps, as seen by the cartoons not writing their Decepticons any less evil then the animes do.
The animes tend to write them as more “human” than the cartoons do.  PS: I didn’t mention Beast Wars Neo because I haven’t finished that one yet. Also I never ever believed that the Beast Wars cons ever fought for anything good apart maybe Dinobot, but Megatron says he fights against slavery, so :/ Also I do NOT hate the cartoons ffs, I just couldn’t let of the notion that the anime decepticons are somehow less than the cartoons ones just because they don’t have “good motives”. If anything the cartoons are more offensive for giving their clearly evil characters “good motives”. Like you either make a true grey moral stories or you just don’t give your damn pure evil villains “good” fucking motives. Which is why I just ignore the fact they supposedly have “good” motives, like who the fuck even cares when the villains themselves don’t represent that???

Megatrons rated by the level of dumbass
[updated to include Siege]
Smartest to dumbest, say GO! (Note: Does not include IDW and Unicron Trilogy)
Transformers Animated
The least dumb Megatron of them all, a friggin mastermind who doesn’t need brute force to get what he wants, he only needs his smart mouth! ~
Just knows what to say at all times to manipulate the people around him, what an icon :D
And unlike most versions of the character, he doesn’t suffer from “Gay for Optimus” syndrome :3
Prime Wars Trilogy
To prove my point that he is smart, here is a video proof.
Apart from that he’s a pretty tactical guy with lots of experience! And he also has a smart mouth, but he likes to use it to insult and annoy :D
Only reason I deemed him dumber than TFA Megs is that he doesn’t have a scheme in this show as he is not the villain. Also he does have Gay for Optimus-Syndrome.
Siege
Boy does not have Gay-for-Optimus syndrome, thats nice. For the most part of the season he doesn’t actually do anything dumb, it’s just every decision he makes ends badly for him.
Inprisoning Magnus? Magnus spies on him and tells Oppy his plans
Setting up a fool-proof trap for the autobots? His decepticons fail really damn hard.
Killing Magnus? Releases the Alpha Trion protocols, making sure the autobots can get the AllSpark.
Nothing happens in his favour, re-watching the show and only watching his scenes makes me sad x’D
It remains to be seen how his decision to release that virus will effect Cybertron...
Beast Machines
One damn angsty emo, he has no time to fuck around and do stupid shit, which makes him appear less dumb. Still a little dumb though, for using the sparks of former good guys for his goons and be surprised when they turn against him. Also he has fashion no sense
Beast Wars
Now we get to the dumber ones! And while BW Megatron is a damn genius criminal mastermind, one cannot forget the level of dumbass he had in season 1! I credit those moments of him just having not much experience as a leader in this kind of war, but still - the dumbass is still there, sadly u_u
G1
This Megatron is equal part genius and equal part dumbass. Do most of his plans fail? Yes. Are they fucking insane and creative? Also yes.
No true dumbass could come up with his variety of evil schemes, we all gotta appreciate that -v-
Transformers Prime
He has the biggest and strongest Gay for Optimus-Syndrome, and it makes him dumb all the time! His saving grace is the his huge level of intimidation, power and chemistry skills, or else you’d actually notice the fact that he sends his only medic to do fighting all the time and even threatened to keep him locked in a wall. Or making Airachnid his second-in-command. Or never bothering to look for Starscream, when he explicitely was under the impression that he was kidnapped by the autobots.
And the dumbest thing - not killing Optimus Prime when the dude lost his memory! Come on Megatron, get your feels under control!
Robots in Disguise 2001
If he were nice he’d a himbo, but as he is he’s just a jock who has no idea what he’s doing. He’s on earth because he heard there would be some awesome source of power, but has no clue what exactly it is.
He tries really hard to be intimidating in front of the humans and gets flustered when he fails, awww.
Smartest thing he did is stealing the Protoforms of the decepticons, that was a nice move :D ~ But apart from that he just vibes around hoping the plot gets moving soon
Beast Wars II
Megastorm can’t do math, and he can’t keep his act together. So dumb that Galvatron feels ashamed of him :(
But he gets a little bonus point for the times he managed to knock Galvatron out, and another bonus point for doing it in my favourite way - the good old Tekken-style throwing your family member into a volcano trick :D
Cyberverse
Did this guy EVER come up with his own plan? For anything? NO! No scheming, no insane plans, no tactics, NOTHING!
Nothing he ever did was his own idea. Not the plans to destroy earth, not the trick with faking the space-bridge’s destruction, wasn’t even his idea to use the transwarp teleporter to travel to other dimensions!
Use your processor, you dumb slut!
He’s also the perfect example of why Gay for Optimus-Syndrome is so horrible to have, as the other Megatron proves to be quiet effective without it.

Pros and Cons of all the TF shows I watched [updated: Unicron Trilogy and BW Neo]
Update info: Whyever the hell I wrote this and why people care about my opinion is beyond my current understanding, but @chaoticgirl23 asked for the Unicron Trilogy I hadn't watched back then, so- Also decided to write down if I actually like the show or not xD
(also I removed wfc, because I cant really judge after all with the show not being finished) My personal opinions + stuff that can be dubbed controversial and problematic, so beware for racism and sexism! But also beware of my idiotic attempts at humour
G1 (loved the show with all my heart)
Pros:
- The original show
- big cast of loveable characters
- Really awesome human side characters
- Very clever and witty dialogue
- fucking batshit insane
- Rodimus Prime is babe
Cons:
- apart from Arcee, female autobots being treated like a subspecies and only appearing in like one episode (3 if you are generous)
- Motherfucking country called “Carbombya”
- Some human characters are actually shit (those boys from B.O.T)
- Rodimus fucks as a human and not as a robot
- Everything animated by AKOM
- Galvatron’s portrayal as a person with brain-damage reads as ableistic (Personally I still love his G1 version more than the others I’ve seen)
- The “You’re only truly disabled if you lose your courage” line from Chip, it was explained to me that it’s ableistic as well
Headmasters (loved the show)
Pros:
- exciting plot
- characters die, fuck yeah
- Planets get destroyed, fuck yeah
- <3 ~ Power of Friendship ~ <3
- Sixshot is babe
Cons:
- Everything about Cyclonus and Wheelie
- Rodimus fucks off after episode 10 and never comes back
- Arcee going from warrior to secretary
- If you come from IDW I have to break it to you that Chromedome is straight
SuperGod  Masterforce (loved the show with all my heart)
Pros:
- A darker and more serious storyline if you’re into that
- Lots of character arcs and well-written characters in general
- Decepticons having a more family like dynamic
- Decepticons with a level of depth to them
- Redemption much
- Ginrai is babe
Cons:
- This show’s focus is on the humans so if you don’t like human TF characters, this aint for you
- The character Cab has a level of racist stereotyping - he comes from a fictional country in Oceania called Karin and the depiction of that country is everyone living in wood homes and having no electricity. (The show plays in the future so that makes it worse) Cab himself gets introduced as a Tarzan kinda dude who can talk with animals.
While I found Cab himself not bad as a character, the problem with how his background is written sure is stupid and insulting. There isn’t a lot of focus on his country in the show however, but it’s still there
- There is a scene in which the boys Shuta and Cab spy on girls during swim class (they get called out and apologize for it though and the “fanservice” scene itself is really damn modest and tame)
Victory (loved the show)
Pros:
- Similiar fun tone as G1
- lovable cast of idiots
- Exciting episode plots
- Leozack is babe
Cons:
- The only two prominent female characters are love interests and nothing else (which is drop in quality when compared to Masterforce, which had Minerva as a fleshed out autobot with agency and Mega as an interesting female villain)
- Leozack never punches Deszaras in the face
- Fucking retcons the destruction of Mars in Headmasters
Beast Wars (loved with all my heart)
Pros:
- Really compelling story and characters!!!
- Well written dialogue
- Wonderful character animation
- Dinobot is HONOUR and babe. Also I’m crying
- Megatron and his bullshit
Cons:
- Megatron and his bullshit
- That stupid love triangle subplot in season 3
- Some major plotline not being fully developed (the Vok plotline)
Beast Wars II (liked the show)
Pros:
- The Predacons in general
- Lio Convoy (the Optimus of the show) having a son
- Galvatron is babe and so is Starscream
Cons:
- Maximals are lame apart from Lio Convoy and the arc with his son Lio Junior
- A lot of uninteresting characters an episodes
- The Jointrons as racist mexican stereotypes
- Only female robot is part of a love triangle (even more annoying than the love triangle in Beast Wars)
Beast Wars Neo (liked the show)
Pros:
- Big Convoy being a lone wolf turned teacher was a really sweet story to follow <3 How he and his team learnt to trust each other over the course of the show was really nice!
- Unicron in this show was a delight
- D-Navi was always fun
- Magmatron was a rather nice Decepticon leader
- Heinrad is babe
Cons:
- No girls (Boo!)
Beast Machines (very conflicted, tend to dislike)
Pros:
- Plays entirely on Cybertron
- Explores themes of technology and organic life forms and really tries to be something different and deep
- The last episode is really nice
- Jetstorm is babe
Cons:
- No fun allowed - the maximals are really frustrating because we only ever see them being angry and fighting and a lot of them only show us their worst sides
- The maximal character models are HIDEOUS
- You may not actually like the philosophical aspect of the show, especially when you think too long about it and realise it’s kinda shit
Robots in Disguise 2001/ Car Robots (liked the show)
Pros:
- New continuity! New story, new take!
- Funny and lighthearted
- Cute characters
- Sky-Byte/Gel-Shark is babe
- Ultra Magnus/God Magnus is a fucking jerk and I love it
Cons:
- Sideburn/Speedbreaker’s gag about loving red sport cars and chasing after them - it’s played as a joke all the time but I can see that stuff making people uncomfortable when they see the female driver trying to get away from him and his catcalling (Apart from that I do like him a lot though)
Armada/Micron Densetsu (disliked the show)
Pros:
- Lots of feels between Megatron and Optimus
- Starscream's arc
- The ending arc
- Jetfire was babe
Cons:
- The pacing was unbearable
- Half the time the characters didn't act like people and I was confused about almost every conflict, action and point they made. It's not a great story when I watch episode and need an hour to figure what the hell the story even was
- The parts I liked in concept are not helped by how unnatural and weird the characters acted at times. I liked the ending, but how they got there was so weird that I just can't enjoy it
Energon/Superlink (loved the show)
Pros:
- Megatron/Galvatron - Everything about him
- The japanese voice acting was fantastic!
- Really nice death scenes (I love death scenes btw)
- Mirage/Shockfleet being in love with Megatron
- Bringing back old names apart from Megatron and Optimus
- Rodimus being an equal to Optimus was a nice touch
- The few scenes it was 2D animated
- Jetfire/Skyfire is babe
Cons:
- Animation
- The "for the toys" thing kinda ruined some characters, where instead of getting the toys as completely new characters, they killed old ones and brought them back with a new model. It did suck story-telling wise (and me, loving death scenes, get annoyed when a death scene gets ruined by bringing the character back). So you got all these character arcs that feel like the just stopped
Cybertron/Galaxy Force (loved the show with all my heart)
Pros:
- Love the setting and world with all the different colonies and how they were explored ~
- Optimus Prime, this one is my favourite version of him!
- Vector Prime, they should bring him back
- All the different leaders
- The friendship between the characters- this show has my favourite set of Autobots from all TF media
- This also has my favourite Mega&Star dynamic
- Starscream himself is so well done here!
- Jetfire/Dreadlock was babe
Cons:
- Megatron was lacklustre. When it came to him and his dynamics with other characters (apart from Starscream), he was hardly written as a person with feelings. He never reacts to anything happening within the ranks of Decepticons and it is really disappointing, because there was a lot of potential! (with Flame Convoy and Chromia specifically)
Animated (loved the show)
Pros:
- Character writing, plot and themes!
- Lighthearted tone but enough scenes that dig a little deeper
- Really nice and smooth animation
- Optimus is baby
Cons:
- The chins
- No 4th season
Prime (loved the show)
Pros:
- Best friggin fight scenes and animation in general
- Really exciting plot
- Ratchet is babe
Cons:
- Predacon Rising exists
- Characters dying for budget reasons (Just don’t hire celebrities when you cannot pay them for more?)
Robots in Disguise 2015 (it's okay)
Pros:
- ...the Stunticons are babe
Cons:
- characters never developing and learning the same shit over and over again
- almost no interesting villains
- even the interesting ones being shoved aside a lot
- no real built-up for the climax
- lots of filler and not enough time spent on the actual plot of a corrupt Cybertron goverment
Prime Wars Trilogy (loved the show with all my heart)
Pros:
- Megatron, everything about him, he’s babe
- I really like the soundtrack
Cons:
- Bad storytelling, both narrative and visual
- Horrible or mediocre voice acting
- Static and bad facial expressions
- Static and bad character animation
- Feels like no one involved in the production had any idea how to tell a story
Cyberverse (meh)
Pros:
- Really cute as fuck
- Big cast
- Astrotrain is babe
Cons:
- No time for character arcs, they just jump from set up to conclusion with nothing in-between
- Unfocused plot that jumps from one idea to another
- Megatron broke my heart and I hate him

megatron! :>
Thank you! <3
Something I could have done for Magnus as well, saying which versions of the character I am familiar with:
G1, Beast Wars, Beast Wars II*, Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise 2001, TFA, TFP, Prime Wars Trilogy, Cyberverse *The character in Beast Wars II is called Megastorm actually, I simply choose to see him as another version of Megatron
favorite thing about them
Generally I love me a Megatron if he’s competent, powerful and has lots of agency ~  Just the general “I will let nothing stop me” attitude is something to admire <3 As Prime Wars proved it, he doesn’t need to be evil to work like this :D ~
least favorite thing about them
Any version of him that aint competent or has no agency. I don’t like him in Cyberverse because he’s a friggin dumbass who cannot come up with his own plans and in RiD01 he was boring due to rarely doing anything himself and just letting the henchmen do everything. Beast Machines Megs isn’t as bad, but it’s hard to engage with him if he’s only stuck in his room in season 1 or a giant floating head for most of season 2 (love him in the last episode though, that last episode is a TREAT! ~) Generally though?  The fact that #Megatron Origins gives us this awesome design with his actual head design (sensory panel) sticking out around his face, but they never use it anywhere else! Anywhere else it’s  just his “brow” on his forehead that we see from the sensory panels, but it looks so much better like this!  And YES, that is exactly why I draw him with that, no matter what design I actually use! :D And at least TFA has something similiar ~
Tumblr media
favorite line
G1: “Such heroic nonsense” iconic ~ (from the movie) Beast Wars: "I can suffer your treachery, lieutenant, but not your incompetence! Treachery requires no mistakes." words of wisdom Beast Machines: "See how quickly your friends turn on you? They promised you great power, but only I delivered it. They abandoned you, Rattrap. They did worse than hate you. They pitied you." David Kaye’s delivery was pretty good! Also he’s right TFA: “If I cannot save my clones, I’ll at least have the satisfacting of destroying you, Optimus Prime!” awww, he remembered Oppy’s name! <3<3<3 TFP: “My greatest mistake? I’ve made a few. But there is one I do not intent to make again.” Megan be ready to swoop Starscream’s ass RiD01: “What are you doing, Black Convoy? You just humiliated me in front of the humans!” Megs cares about his evil image XD Gosh, that was a funny scene xD Prime Wars: "What was that you always used to say, Prime? Oh, that's right. Transform and roll out!" Come on, this is GOLD! <3
