I'm considering starting a blog about body modding because I've been banned off the body mod subreddit for this comment in regards to someone's mods
But since I didn't specifically say something about their mods I'm commenting on their appearance apparently 🙃.
NEways if people would be interested or even know of other body modding forums online please lmk. Body modding is a special interest of mine and the only reason I was using reddit.
#id love to participate in BME but uts shut down until further notice#and i cant find any other body mod forums#and im highkey quite upest because i really like the sub and people are quite nice on it#but you know what they say about reddit admins

(Hc's) Gamer Boyfriend! Gojo Satoru
Masterlist
Tags : Teen Gojo, Gamer Gojo, Classmate Gojo, Soft Gojo, Secret Crush, Best Friends to Lovers, Idiots in Love, Reader is Genderless.
The first time you met Gojo Satoru, you thought he was a typical basketball captain with a sunny aura emanating from him. He rarely talks to any other classmate; come on, he's so popular.
At that time, it was a nice summer in Tokyo. You and Shoko were cleaning the class, and he suddenly approached you, patted your shoulder, squeezed them a bit, and asked, "What is your Game ID?"
"Excuse me? I don't play such games, Gojo-kun."
"I'll teach you."
Such a weird boy, to be honest.
He brings two PSPs to school so you can play with him during lunch break.
"You know it's illegal to bring a console to school, Gojo-kun."
"Well, I have permission from Yaga-sensei. He gifted me that PSP as my birthday present. Hey, watch out; you'll lose."
He memorized all the gaming YouTubers' names along with their most-watched videos.
He wears a headband while playing games.
He is the leader of a gaming community's gang. It wasn't a bad gang; it was just a group of gamers who loved to share their interests.
He can spend 13 hours playing games on weekends, and he'll come out of his room only when his dad yells at him or when you visit his home.
Sleeping in class has become a habit for him. When he does that, he'll snuggle on your lap to hide his face from Yaga-sensei.
But Yaga-sensei always caught him.
His favorite song is Resident Evil—The Save Room, and he'll play that song while cleaning the classroom.
He always messages you when he's ready to play games. It almost makes you dizzy because he always spams you when you don't reply to him.
Despite how bad you are at the game, he'll teach you patience, talking in soft tones while guiding you step by step.
He rarely opens the mic, but when he does, he'll mock the other players and say how bad they are at the game. He's so aggressive, but you find it cute because he always tries his best not to include you.
"You're my best friend. I would never hurt you. Our team is just stupid; let's play another game, shall we?"
He loves Manga Cafes so much. He always invited you to join him and read all his recommendations.
"This manga is so good, but the MC is so lame and stupid."
Gladly to holding your hands in Akiba and making sure you don't fall or bump into someone else. His palm is so warm and big.
His mom loves you, and whenever he invites you to his mom, Mrs. Gojo will give you a nice and delicious cake along with expensive tea.
"Where's Satoru?" — Geto Suguru.
"He's in the manga cafes, I guess." — Ieiri Shoko.
Absent from school has been your weekly activity with him. But he doesn't want Yaga-sensei to catch you two. So you'll spend your time at his home, eating cake or ice cream, playing games, and taking a nap.
Of course, he didn't do anything else besides playing games or napping. He's a gentleman, after all. A good boy.
You can find him on Reddit.
He uses a combination of your name and his as a password for his computer, he even changes his Game ID to that.
He never cheats at games.
He is an admin of a Discord server and is talking about an underrated game.
"Hey, I know you and Satoru are close like a flower and water. But make sure to not miss my class, okay?" —Yaga-sensei
He hates Gacha games so much. He thought it wasn't a game at all. "My gacha luck is so bad this month. Oh, damn."
He has two different Twitter accounts. One with a cute avatar and only follows you. The other one he uses to share his gaming progress.
Gojo may be in love with you. Because every time you interact with someone else on the Discord server, he'll kick them; remember, he's an admin.
He loves to lean his head against your chest while playing games, and when he falls asleep, you let him be. He’s so dramatic but cute at the same time.
"Hey, I know it sounds crazy and lame, but hear me out. I don't know what will happen to us when we graduate. But I want to be your gaming buddy until we are old. Even if I have dementia, I will find another way to remember you."
"I want to spend my life with you, not only to play games but also to do everything with you. Because I love you."

Some Thoughts on the Reddit Blackout
Like many new arrivals on Tumblr these days, I used to be a Redditor until recent developments encouraged me to take my business elsewhere, and I have been following the development of the story as thoroughly as I can without actually giving Reddit any more traffic. With the most recent development of the Reddit admin corps taking on a suite of strategies lifted straight from the depression-era railroad baron playbook, I figured the time has come to talk a little about the wider implications of this whole story.
The Tech sector is, to the best of my understanding, in a vulnerable place right now. After the Web 2.0 gold rush and years of consolidation and growth from the biggest actors, your Alphabets, Twitters, Metas, and so on, many of the larger sites and services are reaching the largest size they can expect to grow to. How, for instance, could Facebook or Twitter grow much more now that everyone and their mother is on Facebook and Twitter? Prior to the Musk buyout, Twitter seemingly settled on upping engagement, making sure people were on Twitter longer and invested more energy and emotion in the platform, usually by making damn sure the discourse zapping through that hellhole was as polarizing and hostile as possible. Meta, meanwhile, has been making bank on user data as advertisers, AI folks, and any number of other actors salivate over getting their hands on the self-updating contact and interest registry that is Facebook.
With the rise of what we apparently have decided to call AI, data is now more valuable than ever. I consider this to be yet another Tech Hype Bubble on the level of NFTs or Metaverses, but, like with the two above, I can imagine it's hard to explain that when you are a Tech CEO and your shareholders ask you "Hey, how do you plan on earning us money off of this AI/NFT/Metaverse thing?" This is not to say CEO Steve Huffman isn't handling this whole thing with the grace of a three-legged hippo, but merely to suggest that his less-than-laudable decisions and actions in this mess don't arise from his character alone but also is a result of wider systemic issues.
One of these issues is the complicated role user data plays in modern websites and -services. Since its inception as a publicly accessible space, the question of how to monetize the Internet has been a tricky one for site and service owners. Selling ad space on your website or service has long been the go-to, but this in itself presents its own issues, having to curate content that is considered ad-friendly, malicious or careless actors making using said service or website less attractive for customers, and finally how to convince your advertisers that they get what they pay for in the first place, ie. "how do I know people even look at our ads?" All of this is before you even stop to consider how ads massively favor large, established actors.
It's no small wonder, then, that several startups in the era of internet mass adoption chose to forgo ads, or at least massively deprioritize them and/or relaunch them as "promoted posts," in an attempt to escape the stigma around ads. Meta/Facebook is probably the biggest fish in this particular pond, but we also see other services such as Twitter and Reddit follow the same pattern.
What makes this work is that the data these platforms collect from their users isn't all that valuable on a person-to-person basis, knowing that so-and-so is 32 years old, lives in a traditionally conservative part of the city, goes to Starbucks a lot, and listens to Radiohead isn't particularly useful information for anyone but a dedicated but lazy stalker; When viewed as an aggregate, however, large collections of data on a large population becomes quite valuable. This is especially true if you're working with, say, targeted ads or political campaigns. Look no further than the Cambridge Analytica data scandal for an example.
Now, all this is to illustrate the strange position the user occupies in Web 2.0. We tend to think of ourselves as the customer of Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, and so on, but it isn't the case. After all, we don't pay for these services, and if we do it's to buy freedom from ads or other minor service modifications. It is more correct to say that we make up the product itself. This is true in two respects, first, an active social community is vital for social media to not be entirely pointless, and second, we generate the data that the platform holder seeks to monetize. This hybrid product/participant role doesn't map cleanly to traditional understandings of "worker," but I argue it is a closer fit than "customer."
All of this is to say that it is immensely gratifying to see the Reddit Blackout taking the shape of a strike rather than the more typical boycott model we've seen in the internet-based protests of yesteryear. Much of this, I think, we can thank the participating Reddit moderators. While the regular platform user can be *argued* to be a worker, the moderator inarguably is one, and the fact that they aren't paid for their efforts is more a credit to the prosocial nature of humans than to the corporate acumen of the platform holders. Either way, moderating a subreddit is work, if the subreddit is large, it's quite a lot of work, and moderators keeping malicious actors, scammers, and hatemongers out of everyone's hair is a must for any decently sized social space to not be an objectively terrible experience. So, if you were to, for example, withhold your labor (moderating for free) which you as a worker can do, it would be plain irresponsible to leave the place open for said bad apples to ruin everyone's bunches, thus the shutdowns.
I don't think it's a controversial take to claim that the Reddit admins also view this more as a strike than a boycott, given their use of scabs, intimidation, and other strikebreaking tactics in an attempt to break the thing up. This is nothing new, and the fact that Reddit admins are willing to stoop to these scumbag tactics tells us that their bluster about the shutdown not affecting their bottom line is nothing more than shareholder-placating hot air.
As this entire screed has perhaps demonstrated, I believe the Reddit Blackout is important. My stay at Tumblr so far has been excellent and will probably continue past this strike no matter what outcome it has, but for others in my situation, or perhaps entirely alien to the Reddit biome, I ask you to consider: If we do not stop this level of consumer and user-unfriendly bullshit Reddit have been pulling on the API change, where will it pop up next? Who's to say the next bright idea in corpo-hell isn't "Hey boss, how about we charge these nerd losers a dollar per reblog? And maybe a fiver for a Golden Reblog (TM)?"
This is perhaps getting into grandstanding, but I believe we are way past due for a renegotiation of what it means to be a platform holder and -user on this hot mess of an internet. If we as users do not take an active, strong stance on the matter, the Steve Huffmans, Elon Musks, and Mark Zuckerbergs of the world will decide without us. One does not have to be a fortune teller to see that the digital world this would create would not have our best interests in mind any more than the current one does.
So, in closing, I wish to extend my wholehearted support to the participating Moderators of Reddit and everyone who has decided to take their business elsewhere for the duration of the shutdown. Even without getting into the nitty-gritty of the API situation, this is a fight worth having, and may we through it make a world that's just a little bit less shitty.
Become Ungovernable
Become Unprofitable
Stay that way.

what do you think the chances are about the admins listening about how unfulfilling it is to watch our streamers watch lore instead of actually participating (+ the burnout thing) ? i feel like theyve been receptive to some things, but they could easily write it off as "a vocal minority" despite it very well being the shovel for them to dig the servers grave with
I think that the admins are actually pretty responsive to viewer feedback from what I've seen. If enough people say something, then there's a pretty good chance of something happening.
Like, the other day there were (extremely valid) complaints about Quackity not having French subtitles on his stream, and today Elena uses French text-to-voice for the books she was reading.
I think that Elena in general was actually an attempt to work with some of the complaints, and I'll give the admins kudos for that. It's really hard to balance the story you want to tell and the audience's complaints- take it from me, I'm a GM on occasion, it's HARD. I think that Elena is meant to be a more relatable figure than Cucurucho, and I think that she's in place as the pov now because of complaints about Cucurucho's pov.
I think that any feedback needs to be polite and concise. Say exactly what you want to say in the comments of the stream's vod or on Twitter/Reddit/Facebook/Wherever, but be polite about it. The admins are legitimately doing their best and I have a feeling that this is their first time running anything like this, so you gotta cut them a bit of slack.
They obviously won't change the story, but maybe if they understand what everybody's criticism is actually about, the way the story is approached can be adjusted at least until the ccs are all back from break? Idk, I'm actually pretty optimistic despite all my posts. If enough people voice their criticisms in a nice way, maybe something can happen. They've changed some story beats because of audience reactions by now I think (egg rescue, Elena, Minimes, Cucuruchito, etc), so who knows?

I’ve been thinking about how both the DSMP and the QSMP have affected my life.
I found the DSMP in 2021, so while I wasn’t an early early watcher, it was a big part of my life through Covid, moving, school and a bunch of other stuff. I found these creators who were just online having fun, and I lived through them.
Phil was the first person I started watching, and then it spiralled off to Techno, Tommy, then Tubbo, then Ranboo, then a bunch of others. I caught up on the lore, I watched streams, videos, joined Reddit communities, and it was a big part of my life. It definitely impacted my journey on the internet and in the real world. I would say I partly grew up on the internet.
I stopped watching for a bit. Life got in the way. I was still an avid YouTube watcher, but missed a lot of streams because of my timezone. I caught a few now and again. From what I could tell, DSMP was coming to a close. ‘That’s fine!’ I thought. ´They’ll be back soon. It’s not like everything else will stop as well.´ I had found Hermitcraft and Empires and a bunch of other stuff to watch, so I had mainly moved onto YouTube.
Then Techno died. And I launched right back into his community. I read every MrTechnodad Reddit post, watched every video of streamers talking about it, watched the whole of Phil’s silent memorial making stream. Watched his videos over and over again. It still hurts.
They announced the ending. I was fine with it. I mainly watched Phil and he said he wasn’t going to be in it so I wasn’t really bothered. I was prepared to watch Phil play hardcore and do the Sorry Boys with everyone and other stuff for at least a little bit.
Then, they announced QSMP. I honestly wasn’t really interested at first. I tried to watch some and couldn’t see the point. I thought, Quackity should add some more well know streamers if he wants people to watch, but that’s not the point of QSMP. I understand now.
QSMP is entirely different from anything we’ve had before. It has inspired the English creators to learn a language, or continue learning if they already were. It’s inspired me to learn a language, and a few seconds of watching it will give me new motivation to do so!
QSMP introduced me to Cellbit, Baghera, all the amazing, funny, great to watch and listen to creators I never would have known existed if not for QSMP.
And of course the eggs. I love all of them. I know the tricks and I know that they’re just admins but the admins are people! And I choose to believe their real personalities are shining through the eggs.
I love that Phil does his Cucurucho/Chayanne fourth wall breaking and that Tallulah has come out of her shell (get it) enough to join in on that. I love Leo’s sass and how Fit cares for Ramon. I love Dapper and BBH’s joking infighting and how people ask Dapper a lot of things because he knows stuff. I love Richas’s dad collecting and what an amazing painter he is. I love Pommes sweetness and how she and Tallulah hit it off. I miss Bobby’s tendencies to get himself into trouble. I miss how in sync Juana and Slime were. I joined after Trump and Tilin died, but I miss them too.
Thank you, everyone on the DSMP (which should really be BBHSMP because apparently he was paying for it the whole time), for being such a big part of my life. I’ll never really be able to thank most of you enough.
Thank you, everyone on QSMP for joining, because I have a feeling this will continue to be amazing, and Quackity, himself, for organising all of this and finding amazing admins and being so open with sharing your culture and language and experience.
I love all of you. (Except y’know… the ones that turned out to be terrible)

Just so you know, here is a short list of things I have seen Trump voters on Reddit pulling out as "proof" men are victimized and "had to" vote for the rapist. Thse include:
DEI, job fairs for women and other means to balance the fact that there is blatant hiring bias priritizing white men to get job offers. In other words, these men feel victimized by no longer receiving preferential treatment.
Existence of female support groups, tutoring for owmen and women support centers. They literally saw people getting organized and isntead of doing it for themselves, decided it is easier to bitch and blame the organized groups for their opression.
Women not wanting to have children. I live in a country where most children are raised by mother and grandma after father dipped, so not a single one of these fuckers will get any sympathy from me here.
Many men believe they hsould have a say in whenever or not woman is allowed to abort their baby. I will be blunt: the moment you want a say in deciding what another person does with their own body, you want to OWN THAT PERSON AS A SLAVE!
Men are shunned as not carrying about women when they don't beleive rape acussations. That is because they blatantly do not care about women and will side with rapists.
Women are afraid of men because many men are rapists. Which is justifiable, if I was at rick of being raped by men I would be stabbing every guy who comes within reach (but I'm male, past my fresh years and butt-ugly, so I'm not)
Also, one of the reasons I have seen was men being blamed for Trump's reelection. Which is their own fault but also circular logic - "we voted for trump because we were hated for voting for trump and now everyone hates us for voting for trump" sounds like a problem that has a simple solution - don't vote for trump.
I'm gonna be honest. I'm a white man in my thirties, struggling to stay alive. When I see men making these things their problems, I'm not fileld with empathy or compassion. I'm filled with disgust at the blatant entitlement and, quite frankly, naked admission they don't see women as human beings. I won't be "reaching out" empathically to them when their "victimization" is a list of things that oppression" is jsut equality. These men are privledged, they are entitled and at best they blame women and minorities because it's easier than look up for REAL sources of their problems. To admit any of this is a geniue problem is to admit, as one of comments I have seen put it, "that up is down, black is white, grass is red and sky is jelly".

Where did you hear about Rachel and her yesmen spying on the community?
Well for starters, there are the lads over in Broseidon's Palace of Fishposting who confirmed it as people who were there that RS joined the group and attempted to micromanage the admins, telling them what they were and weren't allowed to post and essentially trying to wrangle control away from these fan groups.
People on reddit clarifying it (including a Broseidon's Palace member who was there):
Rachel also stated in an old interview, "I don't know, I feel some people are like you need to not make them so saturated and I'm like no! More saturated, no one can stop me. So that's them." Which gives off very "take that, hater!" energy. And it feels like it's just been getting worse in recent weeks as new critic communities and accounts have been opening up (particularly /r/UnpopularLoreOlympus). Many things that are discussed in the crit communities end up being addressed randomly in the comic and often very preachy-like (Persephone talking about the "hegemony" of virginity, Eros and Daphne suddenly acting considerate towards Persephone's feelings after literally prying into the sex life of an SA victim the week before, Hades saying shit like "the pace of our intimacy should be up to us" after people criticizing how Rachel was making a huge fanfare out of Persephone finally getting laid, etc.) or otherwise seem like Rachel is 'doubling down' on things she knows are being said about LO.
Again, these all come across as paranoid assumptions, I'm sure, but considering her pre-existing history of lurking in and being booted from fan communities, it's hard not to feel like Rachel isn't doing this still to this day and responding to the criticism as if these groups are in any way attempting to speak directly at her (which they aren't, they're discussion groups made for the readers).
There are a lot of other examples too but I feel like I wouldn't be able to go over all of them without looking even more paranoid than I likely already do LMAO
The most recent example was the other day, both the UnpopularLO subreddit and Discord made staff posts reminding people of the rules - that discussing Rachel's personal life isn't allowed as it's not the purpose of these groups (after people had been discussing what Rachel's relationship with her mother is like due to how she writes Demeter, also the fact that Hermes is apparently based on her partner but Rachel's own self-insert continues to pursue the rich CEO billionaire anyways and now Hermes is nowhere to be seen, etc.) - and that very same day she came out with this:
Aaaaand this is half of why I'm pulling away from LO. Not just because of its very problematic creator (with or without the stalking) but because it's also turning me into a crazy person LMAOO
(I promise, it's just the ADHD/autism hyperfixation in me, it's not keeping me awake at night or anything, but I still also need to like, step away from this bullshit because I shouldn't even have to be this paranoid over Rachel peeking on us, because best case she isn't and we're just being chronically online, and worst case she is and she continues to ruin her own day and her comic with all of her constant backpedaling and retconning and doubling down lmao)
#something something pepe sylvia#anti lore olympus#i'm gonna lose followers over this aren't i#oh well idgaf#this shit's been driving us insane for weeks now no joke#our biggest worry is the community feeling unsafe or snooped on#we literally tell people not to go into the main areas to stir up trouble because it's bad form#but rachel and her yes men don't bother to pay the same respect in reverse#ask me anything#ama

Hey everyone! Admin here, I just wanna take a minute to thank you all.
Thank you all for making me feel welcome here. I love sharing my arts, and I love sharing my personal thoughts on movies and other things. I’m glad you all enjoy what I do. I wanna also say thank you to the people that have become my friends. Everyone here is awesome, but my friends especially are amazing. When I first got on Reddit and Instagram, I didn’t feel welcome at all. I seriously got banned from breaking bads subreddit because I didn’t watch the entire show, and my favorite character was Gus Fring. I got banned from my favorite subreddit, Hannibal TV, and got told “Bad Troll”. People over in that subject were being negative about the people who wanted the show to return. Someone was being absolutely terrible, and I told them “Shut up bro. Stop being so critical, people can do what they want. If they want to make a petition, let them. The show might come back, you never know.” And I got banned.
On Instagram, I posted a lot of my art, and only a few people cared. People here actually care more than anything. It makes me feel welcome to be here. I feel like I’m a part of a family. And I just wanna say thank you all. You are good people. Thank you for making me feel welcome and wanted.

I made this comment to reddit, for someone who asked what aussie schools (specifically queensland schools) were like, because they were planning on writing a kid going to school there. And i put a lot of effort into it so I'm just gonna post it here.
If youre reading this and want to use it as reference- go ahead! Please!
(copy-paste ahead!)
I went to primary school in queensland for a bit over a year. So I don't have the most experience, but this could help.
(Disclaimer. My experiences were about 18 years ago. So they may be outdated. Use google for more research, as well.)
Depending on year level (year 3, 5, 7, and 9. Year 7 and 9 are in high school now.) There are these tests called Naplan tests. Theyre a bit stressful, and any kid in those years would need to deal with them.
Schools in queensland aren't built much like american schools. American schools tend to be one main building. Aussie schools (and especially queensland schools) are a smattering of smaller buildings, or blocks, connected by pathways. (Mostly undercover in queensland- for the rainy season.) These blocks are typically split by year level in primary school. Sometimes multiple blocks for a year level if the school is big. There will also be an admin block, that your characters might go to if theyre being picked up, or are feeling sick. Blocks tend to have alphabet bames eg a block, b block. Classes will be, say, I-1, I-2, so on. One block will generally hold the art classrooms. Another for music classrooms, another block for the library.
Also- schoolastic book club! I KNOW thats still happening- my little sis brought a pamphlet home for it from preschool. Books can be ordered via the pampthlets, where theyre delivered to the classroom, and sent home with the students. If your characters a bookworm, theyre gonna have feelings about this.
Speaking of- book fairs! Once a year, generally at the library, there'll be a book fair. I think they have these in america too- kids can buy pencils, books, funny erasers, etc. The parents send them in with money on the day.
There's usually a tuck shop, insread of a full cafeteria like in american schools. Most kids will bring a packed lunch. Most schools do not do free lunch- you pay using coins or notes when buying at the tuck shop. Lunch is different at each school- at my old school, senior students (year4+) had to sit in the Undercover Area (where school assemblies were held.) To eat lunch. There were no tables- we sat crosslegged. After the bell rang again, we could leave to the playground. (There wasn't much playground, because we were in the senior section.)
Speaking of the senior section. Aussie schools dont usually do middle school, unless theyre a private school, or a special school. It goes prep- year 6 for primary (these days. Before 2014-ish it went prep- year 7 for primary.) However, young kids and older kids still get a bit segregated. The younger kids had one half of the school, and the older kids had the other. We all ate lunch at the same time, so I don't think they had access to tuck shop at those grade levels. (It mightve been like at previous- Victorian- primary schools. Where an order could be put in before lunch, then the food was delivered to the classroom. Maybe. Or tuck shop was just a big kid privaliege?)
Primary schools tend to have weekly assemblies. At these assemblies they *may* play the national anthum. They also may not, or save that for special assemblies. At my old school, for assembly, we were told to carry our chairs to rhe undercover area for regular assemblies (senior school only.), or to the undercover basketball courts for special assemblies (whole school. Little kids to the front. Had more room than the undercover area.)
Lockdown drills aren't as scary as they may be in america. You just hide in the classroom and the teacher locks the door, shuts the blinds. If there's a staff office/computer room, you may get shapherded in there. (Those rooms aren't big!) Only legit lockdown I experienced was when a kid I knew rode his scooter around the classrooms threatening to throw a brick through the windows. It was a flop- bwcause we were doing pe with a sub and she didn't take us inside lol.
Fire drills are a bit scary. Mightve just been me? Some schools release smoke to make it seem more real. Meeting place is usually the footy field.
Sports- schools in australia tend to have houses. Think Harry potter, except... just sports lol. You get assigned based on last name, alphabetically. (So any of the characters siblings will be in the same house.) You get a colour, a mascot (sometimes racist. One of the houses in my highschool was the indians, with a native american caricature. Which... made no fucking sense even back then.) And a song. Important days are swimming carnival, sports carnival (cant remember exact name? Its the day with the shot put, high jump, long jump etc.) and cross country. Some kids skip those days completely lmao. I skipped swimming carnival most years.
Other important things are year camps. Every year has a camp- and they'll be seperate by year. Year fours arent getting the same camp as year threes. These camps tend to be multiple days through the week, often to a place where you stay in cabins and learn some survival skills/ how to climb up ropes etc. (think stereotypical american summer camps) anyone who misses the camp goes to classes like usual, except they'll get lumped into one combined class with whoever else didn't go, and whatever teacher didn't go. These camps cost money, but theyre fun.
The last year (year 7 in this case) get a special uniform shirt with their year level, date of the year (example- 2024), and a list of their cohort on the back of their shirt. Its pretty cool.
Also, uniforms. All schools have a uniform. There are shops (like lowes- different from american lowes) that sell local uniforms. Most schools will have a shirt, shorts/skirt/skort, pants (if it gets cold in winter) and a hat. Sneakers may be allowed, or they may say leather shoes.
Sports played at primary schools can include things like basketball, netball, cricket, t-ball (sometimes) rugby, afl (if south enough?) Kids *may* get lumped into playing at least one of these during pe, depending on the school. (That might actually be more of a victorian thing though.)
Also seasons are different, due to southern hemisphere. But its not even that simple- if you're story is set above the tropic of capricorn, they're in the tropics. At that point, their seasons are wet, and dry season. Wet season is hot and humid, runs from about november to march. Dry is cold(er) and runs the rest of the year. (Roughly.) Irregardless, there's no snow at christmas unless hell freezes over. There's pretty much no snow in queensland *period*- the alps are in victoria, if you want a snow-holiday.
The school holiday periods are different to what you're expecting, too. Check when schools where your story's set go on breaks. Breaks tend to be two weeks at a time- (one is at easter. Can't remember the others.) Except for christmas holiday, which is six weeks.
Theres no summer camps here. Sadge. There *are* vacation care options for young kids so parents can work- usually at their school, or another school. They wont get taught, but they'll do small activities. One time i won a competition where i needed to eat a doughnut off a string without using my hands.
If the primary school is in a town with a significant army population, there'll be a counselor for the army brats. They might get special activities during lunch, deoending on the school. My school had a scrapbooking class every week during one lunch. I forgot to grab my scrapbook when i left :(
Thata about all i remember. Make sure to do further research- especially for slang, and terminology. That'll be the first sign to an aussie reader that the author doesn't know about school here. Theres definitely things i missed.

Lynn’s FAQ’s
Bookbinding/Translations/Podfics:
I’m fine with all non-profit endeavors.
And there is a podfic of From Wiltshire, With Love up on spotify by the amazingly talented AutumnFoxWrites! Somehow she manages to do different voices/accents for all the characters and keep it up throughout the story.
https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/autumn-fox2
Where is the title of From Wiltshire, With Love from?
It’s a play on words from the James Bond spy movie, From Russia, With Love. Malfoy Manor is located in Wiltshire.
Do you have any recs?
Absolutely! My tumblr is chock full of recommendations and mini-reviews of underrated writers and their stories. Feel free to peruse. The Dramione subreddit also has the What Are You Reading? thread, Self-rec Sunday, the WIP Wednesday thread and the Underrated Fanfic Friday thread which are goldmines.
Where do I post?
Archive of Our Own and Fanfiction.net, although lately I haven’t posted on ff.net. I posted FWWL on Wattpad, I don’t know if I’ll post anything else there.
What are you working on now?
I may or may not post that third epilogue to Blackmailed. I’d like to continue Draco’s Body, for another chapter. Long fic: I’m also working on Butterfly, my evil author’s day submission. And hopefully some more fanart for friends.
Are you writing any original fiction?
No. I love my day job and fanfiction is purely an escapist outlet for my creativity where I am beholden to no one but myself. Writing original fiction would defeat the purpose.
Hey! You make art!
Yes, sometimes! I post here on tumblr, and I post my art on AO3 and instagram. If anyone would like to use my art for their fic or binding they are welcome to. I only ask that you credit me.
Your parents really read your smut?
Yes. Yes they did. It was a very wholesome experience and I live blogged it! My kids also know that I write fanfiction, everyone is very supportive. It feels good not to hide my hobby! (that being said, no one at my work knows, that’s a bridge too far)
Why don’t I see you on the Room of Requirement discord?
Because some of the authors, artists, admins and podficcers there cyberbullied me. When I spoke up about my experience on reddit, I didn’t want to name specific people and I still don’t. But I do think there’s value in warning folks off in a general sense. It’s truly appalling when adult women use their internet clout and lack of consequences to recreate the worst of middle school behavior. Like most moderated spaces, RoR has an anti-bullying policy, but the popular members behave as they choose. None of them have apologized to me or anyone else for their behavior. If you’re wondering why there isn’t much overlap between DHS and RoR, this is why. Their behavior has caused many artists, writers and readers to delete their accounts or leave the fandom.
On to the happy stuff:
A Guide to My Fics
Innovation, E, 18K, angry smut and snark. A short story written for @bek48 on her birthday. Full of snark, banter, sexual tension and hate sex. Skewers more than a few fandom tropes.
Summary: Draco and Hermione make each other miserable. But they come to an arrangement eventually.
Escape From Malfoy Manor, E, 70-100K, Choose Your Own Adventure, war AU. An art/fic collaboration with @goodnight-fraublucher, @mysteriouscatstellation, @photonzeroinfinity, @efinna, @misdemeanor1331 and @bek48
Summary: Hermione wakes up in a prison cell with no memory of how she got there. Will she make it out alive? A fic/art collab with some friends designed to make you laugh, shriek in terror, bite your nails, cringe, and ponder your life choices. With over 35 delightfully gruesome ways for our favorite protagonists to die, this is a great Halloween read.
From Wiltshire, With Love, E, 350K, spy/handler war AU
Summary: Hermione convinces Draco to spy for the Order and she becomes his handler. But what are his true motivations? Hard to say when he's still figuring that out himself.
WINNER: 2022 Top Dramione Fics on Reddit 4th Place Wartime 2nd Place BAMF!Hermione
Shivering With Antici - SAY IT! - pation, E, 20K, smut and snark, an AU in the FWWL universe
Summary: Spying for the Order is taking its toll on Draco. To cheer him up, Hermione brings him to a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show to participate in the virgin induction ceremony.
Draco is not amused.
Blackmailed, E, 48K, smut and snark, 7th year, a surprising plot and gut punch at the end
Summary: Draco finds out something pertaining to the war that Hermione would do anything to prevent from getting out. How far is she willing to go to protect her secret?
WINNER: 2022 Top Dramione Fics on Reddit 2nd Place Dom!Draco (but he's totally a switch here, as is Hermione)
Draco’s Body, E, 11K, demon!Draco, war AU, co-created with art from the amazing @doodleladi
Summary: The war rages on and changed Draco into something evil.
They All Taste the Same, E, 77K vampire war AU, this one has two endings, based on Hermione’s decision to become a vampire or not. One is MCD, one is HEA. Written in 2010, finished during the pandemic.
Summary: Draco has always wanted Hermione, but a recent change has him wanting her even more.
A Dish Best Served Cold, E, 56K, 8th year, smutty, trope-busting whodunnit, my first ever fanfiction, written in 2010.
Summary: Somebody is out to get Hermione. Draco gets caught in the middle, and doesn't mind at all!
The Gods Must Be Crazy, drabble collection for the Last Drabble Writer Standing Competition, Greek God prompts, each drabble has a different theme, plot, topic, genre. I highly recommend this competition. It’s good for meeting new friends, and improving your writing!

15 Questions
Thanks for the tag @sitp-recs & @billsfangearring!! 😄 These are always fun!
Tagging: whoever wants to be tagged, I'm too shy to tag rn 🙈
Are you named after anyone? My middle name is Denise after my great-grandfather Dennis! I'm the oldest of 7 and all of us are named after someone, though with all but one it's a middle name. (Just some extra fun facts!)
When was the last time you cried? Oh lordy. Sometime during the week I think I vaguely remember working myself up in my head and getting teary over it 😬 Though full on sniffling and sobbing and tears falling was Sunday because my partner played the song "Traveling Soldier" (he really likes songs that make me cry which is rude.)
Do you have kids? absolutely not nor do I want them. I'm the oldest of 7 remember? I did my time.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? bahahahahaha.
What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their energy/vibe. Which sounds weird so my next thought was "voice" 🤔 Which also seems weird so...um. Probably mouth because I can't hear very well so I use lip reading to help. Which also sounds weird so...Eyes? Perfectly not weird answer. Except apparently most people I know don't pay attention to people's eyes which ??? So potentially still a weird answer but maybe the least weird of them 😂
What’s your eye colour? Brown!
Scary movies or happy ending? HAPPY ENDING.
Any special talents? I want to say "no" but my therapist would not be best pleased with that. Um...I pick up new skills pretty quickly. I'm pretty good at self-learning and figuring things out. I can bake very well! I've been told I'm a decent writer 😄
Where were you born? born and raised in the friggin' BIBLE BELT. In the good ole U.S. of A. Born in Mississippi which is only just marginally worse than where I am now. 😂 (Never thought I'd say anything nice about Louisiana, but here we are.) (Just kidding we have crawfish and king cake.) (Also New Orleans alone makes up for everything else imo.)
What are your hobbies? reading, writing, commenting on fic!, listening to music, dancing, organizing (yes it's a hobby please leave me alone), baking, collecting (100% a hobby), refreshing Reddit for new AITA posts 🤣, Tumblr nonsense, pestering my friends on Discord, Wikipedia rabbit holes, pacing (please don't ask), gazing admiringly at my partner (listen...don't judge me) uh...that's it? Oh wait! Also makeup. ALSOOOO...trying to make new friends :) (When I'm not feeling too shy/anxious, that is!)
Do you have any pets? no :(
What sports do you play/have you played? what is this "sport" of which you speak?
How tall are you? 5'6"? ish?
Favourite subject at school? art! Which is funny because I have 0 art talent now but it's still fun and I loved my teacher! English was a close second though.
Dream job? idk I work administration now and I actually really like it?? My specific current job is not the best, but in general I like it. I like data entry, organization, paperwork, etc. But also working at a bookstore would be neat! So maybe doing admin work related to books would be the ultimate dream! But really nothing super fancy or prestigious or anything. I'd never want to monetize anything I'm actually passionate about, so as long as I can make money keeping to myself and staying busy I'm fine!

Hi, I know the SP7 subreddit is private but does it still exist, do people still post on there? I'm quite new to reddit and checked out the SP7sub from time to time but hadn't joined and suddenly it was private. If i knew the subreddit was still active I'd request to join the community but I'm unsure if it still is, and i'm too scared to send a message to them :( I know you've followed Steve for some time and you were my best bet :) Thank you!!
hey! so as far as i know, the sp7 subreddit has been completely nuked. i’m not sure about anyone else but for me, the reddit client i use says i’m still in it, but every link to it is a dead end. nothing comes up when i google it, either.
i may be remembering this incorrectly but i believe the sole remaining mod of the subreddit stepped down a little over a year ago. in the last few months before it was deleted (or made private, again i’m not entirely sure), many of the posts were from fans asking for details about the boys’ private lives. each member of sp7 also had admin privileges, so my theory is one of them got sick of it and shut the whole thing down.
it’s a shame because there were a lot of posts i liked rereading every now and then! lots of funny engagement from the sp7 gang, my favorite being from this post:
but i totally understand (what was most likely) their decision, too. they’re all busy and i don’t think the subreddit was active enough to warrant finding a new mod.
that being said, there’s still a fairly active community on twitter! and i, for one, am always down to chat about steve/sp7 <3
#quick disclaimer: i won’t answer questions about anyone from sp7’s personal lives#at least not publicly lmao#but please don’t hesitate to ask me anything else you wanna know!#my twitter is also @somesummerday if anyone wants to see the occasional joke at steve’s expense#thanks for asking!#anon#ask#steven suptic#sugar pine 7#sp7

I thought I'd chuck on a few of my own suggestions or recommendations up here, though these are mostly based in the experience of being an admin of a site and having my members tell me how they found us, rather than being a writer that's gone out to find them on my own. (I've been a one-site writer for a while now, since that's all I have the time and energy for nowadays.)
Hopefully this is helpful - not only to newbies entering the RP sphere for the first time, but also for returning writers who've been out of the game for a little while and might need pointers as to where to start their search in a different era of RP, or even other admins who may not have realized that there are other avenues beyond the "normalized" ones for where writers can find you!
Suggestions/recommendations are under the cut, since this ended up being much longer than I originally planned on.
First, advertising and affiliate sections:
I cannot stress to you how important these are. A lot of admins - myself included - may not like going through the rigmarole of advertising or linking back, or might feel like it's a tedious and obsolete method of networking, but I promise you people actually do look through these. I've had a lot of members that found and joined my site because they happened across another one that was in the same genre but wasn't really their cup of tea, and found us in their "First Links" or "Link Back" sub-forums. Even I will go through these: I'll be doing the ads and link backs that I need to, and when I'm finished, I'll impulsively go click through everyone in their affiliate's section just to take a jog around the RP sphere and see how everyone is doing. (Almost the virtual equivalent of taking my dog for a walk through the neighborhood and waving to everyone as I pass by; I might not stop for coffee, but I'm still happy to see if you're doing well, or sorry to see that some of my long-time neighbors might have moved out.) From what I've seen, it's grown a bit more popular to exclude having an advertising section on your forum, or to limit who can advertise with you - probably due to the growing popularity of private or semi-private sites - and I totally get why, re: the aforementioned tediousness of having to advertise, and that they can be a bit time-consuming to keep up with, etc. However, while I fully empathize with this from the perspective of someone who's worst enemy is the monotony of having to do advertising, it's worth it to have those forums and to get that foot traffic, if you have a public or public-facing site. If I were a person looking for somewhere to write, the first thing I would do is go to my old haunts and click through all of those advertisements and affiliates to see if there's something that strikes my fancy.
Reddit and subreddits are HUGE for us:
I'm also going to say "wait wait wait, don't click away-!" here because OP was spitting some facts when they included Reddit on their list. (Listen, I get it. Reddit hasn't always been great, and I'm sure a lot of us avoided it years and years ago, because the only times you hear about it on other platforms is when people are acting like damn fools, but OP right: it's better now, and it's much easier to curate a feed specifically to your interests, and there's some gold in them there hills waiting to be dug up!) That being said, I'm not personally big on Reddit myself, and my site doesn't typically advertise on Reddit to begin with. However, I have a surprisingly large amount of members who have used Reddit as a vehicle to eventually end up on my site. Some of them had been out of the game for a while (like 10+ years in some people's cases) and didn't know where to start when they wanted to come back. Those people went to r-slash-[fandom name] for whatever genre they were looking for (r/PJO or r/HarryPotter, for some examples off the top of my head) and looked around at the posts there. Even if they didn't find any advertisements or recommendations for sites, they were pointed to places and subreddits where they could. Some times they found us directly, and sometimes they were pointed to other sites that they found us through. At any rate, they found a link to us - either through being linked directly by recommendations, or by being recommended another site that we'd advertised with and/or were affiliated with, and in turn ended up on our site. And even if you can't find an actual site or forum using Reddit that suits what you're looking for, it's also a good place to start finding other people that can help you in your search. Word of mouth helps sites get around too, and if you're a new writer on your own searching for an RP site for the first time, it makes it that much harder. Reddit is a platform where you can find other people with the same interests as you, who may also be interested in writing, and they can help you out too! (Also, it's worth noting that one of the subreddits dedicated to roleplay/rp stories has a Google doc curated from suggestions that lists "RP hubs, forums, and subreddits." Many other subreddit communities, even if not directly related to helping organize communities or advertise, might have something similar!)
Facebook writing groups, of all places.
This one was really surprising for me to hear, personally, as I didn't think there was a space for this on Facebook. I'm very happy to be proved wrong! Facebook has a space for creating and hosting groups; some of you might be familiar with the more memey or shitposty aspect of these groups, but they exist for just about anything. (Hell, my mom, who doesn't actually have her own Facebook account, has one just for gardening.) Naturally, there are ones for writing too! Altogether, I've had upwards of 10+ people over the course of my site's 3 - going on 4 - year run tell me that they found my site or were able to get back into RP through resources that they found on Facebook. That might not sound like a lot of people in the scheme of things, but when you also take into consideration that my site is apart of a more niche genre, and therefore as a result is always on the smaller end of RP sites, that's actually a very significant portion of my member base!
OP's list is a very good one, and already includes most of the ones that I might make. (Or at least, a lot of the popular ones that I'm sure us established or long-time RPers might already know about.)
Here are also some suggestions, ideas, etc. off the top of my head that I didn't see included:
Amino: Amino is a platform that specifically gears itself towards helping users join communities and to curate a "feed" for your interests - and yes, that includes RP! My old roommate used to use this quite often, and it very much has an almost Chatango/Omegle vibe where you can also conduct RP over chat without leaving the site itself or needing a third-party method, like Discord.
RP Repository: Not a site that I've personally used, but I've heard of in passing for a long time, still seems to be active, and seems like a good place to find 1x1 partners for specific plots or settings?
Top RP Sites/Topsites: Topsites are almost like a "voting" directory, where forums and RPs can advertise on the topsites. In turn, they're given a button to place on their site that members can click through to "vote" for them - the more votes a site has, the more "endorsed" it's considered to be. There are sections for sponsored forums, forums that have won awards, and newly registered forums, as well as options to sort by ranks, views, different category types, etc.
Mudlet/MUDs: Again, not something I've ever used (I've always been a strictly forum-based RP writer, on Jcink for over 10 years, and ProBoards before that) but Mudlet/MUD games came highly recommended to me by one of my members. Mudlet is a platform for gaming in a "multi-user dungeon" (hence: MUD) that is a multiplayer, real-time, virtual world that is usually entirely text-based. If forums or Tumblr aren't your schtick, maybe look into these?
Lastly: Google. (Or any other site, really.) Do not underestimate the power of a good, old-fashioned "[fandom + genre + platform of choice] + rp" in your favorite search engine and see what it comes up with. Even just doing this now while I write this reply, I can see a lot of results for either booming, active sites at the top of the list, or they provide me with links to directories where those types of sites are being advertised.
Good luck everyone, and I hope you find sites, forums, partners, and/or plots that you enjoy!
Roleplay Is Not Dead Nor Doth It Sleep
There's a post going around about how text-based, freeform roleplay is dead, and I was typing up a huge response to this, with an accompanying guide on how to find roleplayer in 2024, when I realized it might have a bigger reach if I made it its own post. So here's that guide.
I hesitate to say that there isn't a problem with the new format of social media making roleplay more difficult to find, but in the desire to make that point, the OP of the original post has left people with the idea that there's no way for them to get into freeform text roleplay in 2024. Which just isn't true! Here, look at all the ways.
Forums
The link to RPG-Directory to find roleplaying forums is a good start. Once you've found a forum RPG, even if you don't join, there's usually an 'advertising' section on that forum where other forum RPGs post their ads - this may help you to find forums that don't advertise on RPG-D.
Another really good forum to find roleplay on is Barbermonger. Barbermonger is focused on connecting people for one-on-one roleplays.
This last one's going to be weird, but it turns out that there are still people seeking roleplay on the Gaia Online forums after all these years. I think this is delightfully retro and then crowd there seems a little older than average. No pre-existing knowledge of Gaia required.
Tumblr
You can also find forum roleplay groups (as well as tumblr and Discord groups) right here on Tumblr. Usually, the thing to do is to use the search function - search for "[genre] rp" or "[fandom] rp" and sort by "latest." (If you sort by Top, you are likely to find dead RPs.) For example, here's fantasy rp, historical rp, and marvel rp. You can also try jcink rp, as most roleplay forums are hosted on Jcink these days, or discord rp, depending on your favored platform.
There are also tumblr blogs specifically dedicated to advertising roleplays. I'm not super familiar with these nowadays, but just in the process of searching those tags above, I found these:
Jcink Tinder
RPG Adverts
RPings
There are more, I just don't know them off the top of my head.
Reddit
Listen, don't run away, I swear it's good now - I swear Reddit is good now -
Reddit is a good place to find Discord roleplays. It's a little heavier on smut-only roleplays than other platforms mentioned here, but it's not impossible to find sexless, plot-based roleplay here either. Most ads are for one on one RP, but you can find groups mixed in here too. The big subreddits for text-based freeform RP seem to be:
r/DiscordRP
r/RoleplayPartnerSearch
r/roleplaying
r/Roleplay
Some of these have weird rules about what you can put in your ad, and I don't remember which ones, so read carefully and don't get discouraged if your ad is initially removed.
Discord
In 2024, Discord is by far the biggest and most popular platform for roleplay, and it has its own native roleplay advertising hubs. Here are a bunch:
roleplay partner hub
Rockin Roleplay
The Roleplay Garden
roleplay help
the roleplay connection
RP Central
Roleplay Central
Roleplay Hub
Barbermonger also has a Discord server
Roleplay Meets: Reborn
RP Hub
The Scribes Guild
DM Rp Village
cherry blossom! roleplay hub
DM-RP
Roleplay Round Table (21+)
The Historical Syndicate (specifically for historical roleplay)
The Roleplayer's Directory
If you can't find the Discord roleplay you want on here, you can also try Discord hub websites, like Disboard. These work similar to tumblr tags - search for [genre] rp or [fandom] rp.
Other
The original post specifically mentions that 'all the old "omegle but for role play" type websites died out ages ago'. This is mostly true, but not quite! There's still Rolechat. It's a little janky, but what it needs more than anything is a bigger user base. Their Discord server is also a good place to find one on one discord roleplay. It is, of course, free, but if you want to support its development, they have a patreon.
Please reblog this post, and add your own tips on how to find roleplay!

Since they love humor over there at Tea with Evan and Me. Let’s see what their hot topics have been since the man that the blog has been deciated has been on hiatus.
I’m going to keep it light but I see they are now taking about Marlon. You guys are welcome by the way. If it wasn’t for that topic you all would of still been on how toxic the Reddit community and Twitter are over Evan and Natalie’s relationship. Now before they put words in my mouth (TWEAM Anons). I’ve haven’t said one bad thing about Evan’s girlfriend present and past. I loved Haley Lu and still do. But I dislike when someone called the tarot readers and people who like tarot “mentally unwell freaks” wow for you to feel that way about a community is very sad.
Let’s thank the Anon or Anons who like to bring their Admin into this situation now. I also believe that spewing hate on a women is wrong. But also didn’t someone compare Fran’s lifestyle to Natalie’s mentioning that Fran makes low level quality videos she calls art. Welp so did a lot of YouTuber’s and some actually are making good money now.
Also that Natalie got the “upgraded girlfriend package covid-era fran was denied”. Sorry Fran, you probably should of traveled to the White House and demanded that they open back up restaurants and airlines while you were dating Evan.
Let’s not forget, when they said Fran has a low level data entry type job that requires her to work remotely even on vacation. Dangg, let me pour a drink out to the people that have a “low level data entry job” because apprently according to them Fran or even you readers could never ever in your life afford a prada outfit lol!
Just a little fyi to the “low level” job people. If you too would like to wear a Prada outfit, Visit renttherunway.com. Where you too can look good. Also guess what if you don’t want it to be sitting in your closet all day collect dust. You can just return the outfit. Just looking out for yall low level data entry people😘. Lol it’s crazy because it reminds me of when a president was calling certain jobs “black people jobs.” Sorry I’m done now.
Hi Anon 👋
Thank you for talking about Marlon! Because Marlon is king 🙏
I have noticed that for someone that says they don't tolerate hate on their blog, that they still let it fly. The hate they don't want seems to be directed at specific people, but the rest can all go fly a kite apparently. According to them we let the crazies through like Rosa and let her "spew hate". Well, no. Sometimes she falls through the cracks. But I delete stuff that even has a tinge of hate towards Natalie or whomever. I've gotten asks about the admin over there that is calling her some pretty bad names. Delete!. Like don't preach and then not practice. Know what I mean?
And about the "low level data entry" job. Well, she has one! So, leave her alone. She has the right to bitch on her Tumblr or wherever about having to work on vacation. Just like Admin has the right to bitch about us. It doesn't mean she needs to be raked over the coals. And it's also not her fault she had to stay inside and sleep with Evan instead of going to dinner. Oh darn, poor Fran 😂
And lastly, TWEAM is a community just like we are. So, she claims to have balls of steel when it comes to people sending her hateful things about her, but you can't tell me it doesn't affect her in some way. So, why let everyone rip us to shreds? She actually said she has her spies. Well, that's obvious cause at least one person is acting like her right hand man and going to report to her while she sits on her throne of entitlement. Sorry, had to say it. Tarot is a community like no other. We all stick up for and protect each other (that'll be their next topic, but it's true). And it's just because she doesn't believe in it and doesn't want to understand it that we are all coocoo for cocoa puffs, even the people following us. Well, we welcome everyone here. She can keep typing out not so nice answers to asks and calling people out on her blog. But I'm gonna continue to value people's opinions while politely deleting the toxic stuff.

The mystique of Brigading on reddit.
Brigading
Sending or inviting Redditors to go to another sub for the purposes of making mischief, manipulating voting scores, or causing a ruckus is considered to be “Brigading”. This is a serious offence on Reddit and comes in various forms, all of which are damaging to the community in general and therefore taken very seriously by both mods and admin. Reddit as a whole has just eight rules, and “no Brigading” is dealt with in rule 2 and to a lesser extent in rule 1.
A very simple form of Brigading would be entering a “pro” sub with the sole intention of being “anti”. So, somebody in the sub r/ifindsomefoodstuffsdisgusting might say something to the effect of “I’m not a fan of mayonnaise at all”. This post is read by a member of r/webelievemayoisthegreatestfoodstuffever and in a huff, posts a link to it, sending outraged mayo lovers over to contest a perfectly reasonable comment about mayo hating in a sub designed for such an opinion. If you really have such strong feelings about mayo that you need to let out (I know I do), there will definitely be more suitable places for them on Reddit than trying to incite any subreddit drama between communities.
What is “Brigading”, really?
A term that originated on Reddit, Brigading is when a group of users, generally outsiders to the targeted subreddit, "invade" a specific subreddit and flood it with downvotes in order to damage karma dynamics on the targeted sub; spam the sub with posts and comments to further their own agenda; or perform other coordinated abusive behaviour such as insulting or harassing the subreddit’s users in order to troll, manipulate, or interfere with the targeted community.
While the term often refers to an attack that is intentionally orchestrated by the "brigade" whose members consist of separate people, it's also sometimes used to refer to Sock Puppet tactics, in which people create extra user accounts for the purpose of acquiring more voting power (this in particular is very very much against Reddit rules), or simply an unplanned circlejerk of downvotes against a particular user or community.
Individual users can also be targeted by a downvote brigade in certain situations; i.e. if a person is following you around Reddit with the express intention of downvoting, negatively commenting or generally harassing you in subs they wouldn’t normally participate in. However, individual brigades like this are hard to prove and best ignored, as every user can only vote once on each post or comment and vote fuzzing can make these scores fluctuate in real-time in any event.
What does Reddit do about it?
It’s long been said that admins (Reddit employees) keep server logs that show what subreddits people are coming from when they brigade, so if you suspect a community of Brigading, report it with a message here: https://reddit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
It’s also helpful if you include links to any posts, comments, or messages that led you to believe the community is coordinating a brigade. The admins will be able to see them even if it's a private subreddit. You should also note that because they’re too easy to manipulate, Reddit don’t accept screenshots. Here’s another relevant help centre page: https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058311612-How-do-I-report-a-community-, and our general guide to reporting is here: https://www.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/sections/360008810132-Reporting.
Can it be prevented?
Mods can shut down any brigading posts on their subreddit, but cannot stop their members from creating other accounts to spam. Some subreddits accept crossposts from other subreddits in order to discuss them in a different environment, but usually impose a "do not comment in linked threads" rule. On “Old Reddit” some subs would use certain url prefixes to enforce this rule. The most well known one is https://np.reddit.com, which a lot of subreddits used for a "no participation" mode, and you can read more about it here.
Mods have guidelines on dealing with Brigading, and mod teams are increasingly looking at other ways of preemptively stopping brigades from happening in the first place as the problem grows larger.
For just one example, animal subreddits can attract those with polarised views of some specific cat and dog types, including munchkin and pitbull, and sometimes posting an innocent picture of an animal can prompt unexpected and potentially unpleasant responses. To stop this happening in the first place, some mods have decided to preemptively ban members of other subs as a “just in case” measure.
In another recent example, mods took more drastic action, temporarily closing their sub after an interview didn’t go as planned.
Because there is a Subreddit for everything:
r/OutOfTheLoop is an incredibly useful subreddit to help you keep up to date with what's going on with Reddit and other stuff, while r/SubredditDrama is the place where people can come and talk about Reddit fights and other dramatic happenings from other subreddits. And r/TwentyCharacterLimit is often the reply to when someone posts an obviously fake sub name that's too long to be a subreddit.

i'm trying to get into rp and see youre sort of the go to on here. any servers you would suggest i start watching?
Well first off, thanks for the compliments.
Secondly, I'm gonna say what I like and dislike about the servers I watch, and you can decide on what you want to watch. :3
More after jump in case this becomes a novel
NOPIXEL
People treat Nopixel as the end all, be all of rp on fivem, and it really isn't.
If you purely want to watch for content, then this is the server for you.
The server is very crim centered because the majority of PD left to go to Purple/ONX and don't want to deal with CG.
It's the most talked about server on social media sites like twitter and reddit.
The talk is not usually good though.
There is a bias toward users who are straight and the server owner has some sort of weird hate boner for lgbtq people.
Fr it's weird
There's a twitter thread that is going around rn about how Koil hates the gays and it's oofers
4.0 is a mad shitshow with the way things are going right now.
The dev team, especially tobii and nikez, are incredible
ONX
The majority of the RP centered people who used to play on NoPixel are over here
There has been a recent boom of people who were playing on NP coming over because they're sick of CG and Koil
Server started out really slow
Most of the Devs didn't talk to each other until like April or something like that
Was supposed to be a DW/WG/Penta/Kyle thing and half the group jumped ship already
DW has some mystery illness that is super bad to the point he hasn't been a part of the server yet either
WG is working his ass off to keep the server afloat
The city is 15 million bucks in debt lmao
PD doesn't know what they want to be
PD is johnsouls because majority of them were forged in the fire of the 7:00 CG shootout during 3.0
My personal favorite
Penta stopped playing because devs "ruined" his rp with valets and the giga cops.
Stuff is coming out, but slowly
NEW DAY
Another personal favorite
entire server is ran through donations from the users
very few users stream
users that do stream stream early in the day US time normally
long term story rp
stories can last months on there
black lotus' war with one of the cartel gangs lasted almost a month
wars between gangs can be iffy because certain groups over there like to break the server rules and watch streams (cough homesikh's stream) to see where people are
users are also admins and makers of assets like clothes
larry motherfucking tate
their wiki is on the website and only pages for characters are made at the streamer's request
