Silly Ctimene Headcanon :3

As some of y'all know, my Odysseus has long, curly af auburn hair. It's something he gets from Anticlea (who got it from her dad who got it from Hermes). It's a cute lil thing with Laertes having his beloved 3 tall, red-brown puff balls lol.

But unlike Odysseus and Anticlea who love their luscious locks, Ctimeine HATES it.

It's too hot. It's thick and heavy. It gets messy and frizzy with humidity. It hurts to get combed. Who on earth would purposely keep what feels like a woolen blanket on their head during the warm season?!

Odysseus hears her rants about how much she hates it. Both are tenderheaded but she is more upset about getting it styled than he is. When Odysseus is around 12-14 and she was around 10-12, hearing some more of her rants, he was basically like "…Well…what if your hair got cut by 'accident'? 👀 "

And then he basically has it set up where "oh no, My sister is stuck and all snarled with her hair in this bush! How will I get her out????"

And it's just basically him pulling a "chop chop" for her. Very uneven and in one swoop. like from "Tangled" >:3

And ofc, Anticlea and Euryclea are sad. Probably even crying a lil.

"This was on purpose, I KNOW it was, Odysseus. I know haircutting wasn't really a thing unless grieving BUT they were kiddos and stupid 👀 This may just be a one time thing but I also really love short hair Ctimene. :)

I love how in TCP, both Jude and Cardan don't really change their personalities like main love interests do in other YA books. Like in other YA books, the love interest changes for the other love interest because they 'love them so much'. But in TCP, both Jude and Cardan relatively stay the same throughout the whole series (and in Oak's series as well). And yeh, I know y'all gonna say:"But they did changeee" --- no they didn't. They were just both so comfortable enough with each other that they both brought out parts of each other that make them Jude and Cardan (does that make sense lol). like Jude always keeps a well-guarded composure, but she becomes comfortable enough with Cardan that she shows her vulnerable side to him. (and its the same with Cardan but in a diff aspect ya know).

Hey there pile 1! I see that for you 2024 was not the start of chaos and challenge but a mere continuation. I feel a good deal of exhaustion with this pile. But I wanna tell you that since you picked pile 1 before 1/1, there's a message that you are still going on the right path even if you sometimes doubt your intentions. Like strong currents and waves of the ocean, our paths can become torrential and unpredictable, with many ups and downs. I feel you've faced through many obstacles in the course of your life so it's tempting to believe that not much will change in 2025. How's it going, pile 2? I chose flames for your pile because even though it's the middle of winter, I felt the invigorating energy of my local spring weather cycle in this pile. Everything from the rain to the warmth to the growth to the heat, in the right order! I sense this pile is very enthusiastic at the idea of having an exciting 2025. I don't wanna say that this could be "your year" so to not jinx it, but I'm inspired by the vibrancy in these cards. You feel more than ready to shed the old unwanted parts of the past and welcome the new you. I'm getting that a sense of imposter syndrome is dwindling away as you become more in tune with your emotions, and this is a growth that has taken place over time. As you give yourself more self love and praise for who you are, the more you're able to integrate the humble parts of you that accept learning and growth along with the parts of you that embrace your innate talents and traits.

Coriolanus looks at you, “The ending was beautiful. What did she say?”

You replied to him, trying your best to translate the song, “My heart told me that, my heart told me that oh my friend he has opened, told me a hidden secret, that whose heart is full of love. God only loves that person.”

You tried to make him understand the song better. How it's about love, and the guy is so in love that he's mesmerized by every one of her actions, and his heart is filled with passion and love. Coriolanus nods, trying his best to understand.

“And you want you and I to dance to this in the Holud ceremony?” He asked, his doe eyes wide.

You hold his hand, your eyes turning puppy-like to convince him. “Please Coryo! All of my cousins have two left feet! And my parents already like you so they won't bombard me with questions! Please!”

“Dove, I have never danced,” he begins to state, “Especially for such an important event!”

“Come on, Coryo!” You whine, “Don't make me ask Sejanus!”

Coriolanus knew it was a tactic, it was blatantly obvious that he always tried to one-up Sejanus when it came to everything. He didn't count on the fact that you would use it to your advantage. You pull this card every time and… he gives in every single time.

He gritted his jaw and muttered, “Fine. Don't go to Plinth.”

And you smile at him, so pretty and bright, like the moon, like the sun. There's no comparison, you were both to him. His night and day. His beginning and end. His future and his past.

“Thank you, Coryo!”

Then the practice began. You rent out a dancing studio for a few days before the Holud ceremony. Your other cousins practice their choreographies. You had decided that you'd dance a duo with Coriolanus only. He liked the idea that it was the two of you in the performance. It made it feel intimate.

He tried to follow the simple steps, dancing to the beat of the six-minute-long song. But it was often that he was too fast, his step too quick, losing the coordination both of you had. The dancing style wasn't familiar to him, more similar to your culture than his. So, you couldn't even be annoyed at him, despite the obvious pout your lips formed every time he messed up again.

In the end, he wondered if Sejanus Plinth would have been a better choice. Surely, something as unnecessary as dancing is done in the districts often. The thought that Sejanus might have been a good fit for this and not him, made Coryo work twice as hard however he failed.

It wasn't for him. But you were determined so you decided that the first five minutes would be your solo and then when the part of the female comes on, he will sweep in like a prince. Take you in his arms, and waltz-like you both were royalty in love. That would work.

And it did work. You did your solo choreography perfectly and the same with Coriolanus now finally getting the hang of it all.

The day of the Holud came. You are on stage, in your white lehenga. You were a swan, dancing so beautifully that he nearly missed his cue to jump in. Muscle memory drags him on stage, his arm around your waist. The puzzle fits in place as the song continues and everyone watches.

He knew the song had come near the end. Coriolanus forgot that you two weren't alone in this magical moment. That most of the elitists that were invited tonight had eyes on you both. It doesn't deter Snow from his next actions.

He leans in. You don't pull back. He catches your lips with him with the softest kiss. He enjoys the collective gasp of everyone in the crowd. He claimed you as his in front of the Capitol.

The next wedding that will be held will be yours and his.

He doesn't mind that one bit ♡

Tu hi mera sab kuch hai

Ishan was scrolling through Instagram Reels while Shubman was out for an event. Every ShubSara reel in Ishan's feed kept gnawing him. Increasing his insecurity bit by bit. Ishan despite being the epitome of human sunshine had always been more of a moon known to only those who are the dearest to him. It's not that he doesn't trust Shubman but rather his insecurities about himself.

'Shubman is a young, beautiful man who should rather build a strong future associating with the infamous Sara Tendulkar than hide behind closed doors with him' thought Ishan. Uncertainties and insecurities invaded Ishan's trail of thought until they were interrupted by a knock.

Shubman: Ishan?

Ishan (in a sleepy voice): Hmm?

Shubman: You're still awake? Put that phone down right now.

Ishan: Tera wait kar raha tha.

Shubman: Chal ab aagaya hoon na main...chal so jaa ab.

Ishan: I can't sleep without you.

Shubman: Haan haan...ruk main fresh hoke aata hoon.

Ishan while waiting for Shubman again drowns in his own thoughts.

Shubman (waving his hand in front of Ishan): ISHAN? ISH?

Ishan(startled): Haan?haan?

Shubman: Kya soch raha hai baby..idhar aa

Shubman and Ishan settle in bed with Shubman's arm wrapped around Ishan. The room is drowned in a comforting silence.

Shubman: Tune dinner kiya?

Ishan: hmm

Shubman: Event toh bohot tiring tha...aur upar se media itni irritating hoti hai na kabhi kabhi...mera bas chalta toh main jaata hi nahi. Yaar kaash tu bhi chalta. Next time chalega?

Ishan: .....

Shubman: Ishan? So gaya kya?

Ishan: haan..nahi toh

Shubman: abhi abhi maine kya bola kuch suna tune?

Ishan: huh...Event irritating tha?

Shubman: tune nahi suna 😑

Ishan: sorry na baby

Shubman: tu thik haina? Jab se aaya hoon lost-lost sa hai? Kya hua?

Ishan: Kuch bhi toh nahi

Shubman: Ishh.. mujhse toh jhooth mat bol.

Ishan: tu mujhse pyaar kyun karta hai?

Shubman: Kya? yeh sab kyun puch raha hai?

Ishan: jawab de bas.

Shubman: Iss sawaal ka jawab dete toh subah hojaaegi.

Ishan: main mazaak nahi kar raha hoon Shubi..tere paas har reason hai sa..kisi aur se pyaar karne ki phir bhi tu mujhse pyaar karta hai. Kyun?

Shubman: Kyunki tu paagal hai. Kya bole jaa raha hai. Main tujhse kisi reason se pyaar nahi karta. Main tujhse pyaar karta hoon kyunki mujhe wahi aata hai. Main tujhse pyaar karta hoon kyunki koi aur Ishan nahi hai mere paas. *kisses Ishan's forehead* Main tujhse pyaar karta hoon kyunki mujhe koi aur dikhaayi hi nahi deta.

Ishan: Hum kabhi duniya ko nahi bata paayenge apne pyaar ke baare mein..

Shubman: Main tujhse bohot pyaar karta hoon

Ishan: Pata hai *kisses Shubman*

Shubman: *smiles softly* tujhe pata hai aur tu hi meri duniya hai.

Ishan: Cheesy *slaps him lightly*

Shubman: par tu yeh sab soch kyun raha tha..tu phir se phone pe yeh sab bakwas dekh rha tha..I swear main yeh phone..

Ishan: Shaant..shaant Mr.gill...meri galti hai I know..ab sojaate hai chal

Shubman: *looks at Ishan*

Ishan: kya?

Shubman: *continues looking at Ishan*

Ishan: Ghoor kyun raha hai ab?

Shubman: tu kuch bhul raha hai *forms pout*

Ishan: *kisses Shubman fondly* I love you

Shubman: I love us

Ishan: I love us more..

Shubman: We'll see about that

The rest of the night goes on peacefully as our couple cuddle with eachother draped in eachother's love. Kyunki puri duniya ka pyaar kam pad jaata hai...pyaar toh ek hi se chahiye hota saat janmo ke liye <3
