The Wayhaven Chronicles— Update 14/June/2024

Exciting week!

Chapter Two edits are done on my side, so I sent that off to the editor yesterday and am on to starting on Chapter Three!

Chapter Two will be added to the demo quite quickly after it's all completely done and polished, but after that I’m going to wait until I have Chapter Three and Four totally completed before updating the demo with those. But there is A LOT going on in Chapter Two that will get the excitement going, as well as setting up the story so much!

There was parts of it while I was reading through that I was literally on the edge of my seat even though I’m the one who wrote it, lol! :D

Chapter Three is going to be pretty intense to write as well. There’s a lot going on in this chapter too, though in a different way. We get the first villain POV, introduction of some new characters (depending on whether I decide to do it as a random selection of what Unit you get, or if I make it a choice, otherwise it’ll be a reunion with a previous unit!), though I do also need to decide where it’s actually going to end and Chapter Four begins, hehe!

So yeah, I think it will be an even busier week next week, but it’s back to writing which is always my favourite!

hi!! i'm the same anon from the languages ask. (thank you for answering btw!! it was very interesting!) i've been having thoughts about pokemon languages for a WHILE, and i'd like to know what do you think was the expansion of "japanese" (let's say hisuian) from hisui to the other regions. if the pearl/diamond clan speaks "japanese", then the galaxy corps learned it from them, yeah? or were they settlers from before that were ALREADY speaking "japanese" (therefore there is no conflict with kanto, johto and hoenn speaking "japanese" too, even if it might have evolved slightly differently)? i have this headcanon that celestica people (who were there even before than the clans) spoke our equivalent "russian" instead, what do you think of that?

Hm! I would imagine they were all speaking Japanese, if we were to believe that they all came from “Japanese” regions originally (which I find very likely - there are a couple who have descendants further out in the world like Unova or Kalos, but for the times, I think it makes more sense for them to be from Kanto, Johto, or Hoenn).

I would actually guess that the Celestica people would have spoken “Ainu”, as I think the Celestica people are supposed to represent the indigenous people living in Hokkaido, the Ainu (the story of Legends Arceus being based on the colonization of Hokkaido in the mid-1800’s).

Another thought is that they could be speaking the Pokemon equivalent of an ancient Hellenistic language like Latin, as all the ruins & the Temple of Sinnoh are more styled like ancient Grecian / Roman architecture:

If so, my memories of Art History make me wonder if it’s a reference to the Silk Road at all? Though honestly, I think it’s to communicate that the Pokemon world is a lot more multicultural & diverse than ours is / was (like people who live in “Japanese” regions don’t seem to necessarily be genetically Japanese you know? Ikrit’s an example of that, being white rather than asian) &/or it just “looks ancient” lol.

As for Russian - the Ainu people lived (live?) in Russia as well as northern Japan, so maybe? I could see it being a substitute for Ainu, seeing as it’s an almost dead language, & could make sense in universe? Depends on the direction one wants to go in I guess! If it were me, while I COULD try to excavate my old memories of high-school Latin lol, I’d want to try including Ainu in some way, even if it’s a couple words or a phrase. ;u;

PS: Oh! I forgot - while all the “Japanese” regions probably speak “Japanese”, different parts of Japan have their own dialects, much like how different parts of the US have their own words, phrases, & accents.

This showed up in Legends Arceus when Kamado had a moment of losing his cool - in the US English, he seemed to have an almost Southern / country accent, but in Japanese, he talks in a Kansai accent (aka Johto accent). It’s also worth noting that the fire caused by Ho-Oh in Ecruteak City happened about 150 years ago, & as of PLA (set about 150 years ago), Jubilife Village is only 2 years old…

I was trying real hard to keep faithful to the feelings from the canon Sabo and Luffy reunion while also not having Ace being DEAD as the driving force of the thanks (the ASL brothers thanking each other is something that can be so personal—) and I'm, if nothing else, content with where it ended up. Fuckin' love those two.

Nothing shows how much you love a character like giving them fucktons of piercings and just generally disregarding their canon design. He is my special little guy and I will make him strange and weird like he deserves and if that included stealing his fucking eye and making it more awesome and also poking a myriad of holes in his face, who's to stop me?

All Too Well

Pairings: Chuck Grant x reader Summary: So this a little fic inspired by a moodboard that the very lovely @sweetxvanixlla requested and is also inspired by my recent trip to Henri Chapelle American Cemetery in Belguim. I highly recommend if anyone gets the chance to visit an American Cemetery then to do so. It’s a very emotional and moving place to visit. Warnings: death, mentions of war, PTSD, grief, post war reunion.

“Come on, Y/n. You’ve got to get up,” Chuck called, sticking his head around the bathroom door, toothbrush hanging from his lips as he looked upon the form of his sleeping girlfriend. “Y/n, come on. We’re going to be late otherwise.”

Y/n groaned and reluctantly crawled from beneath the covers, moaning incoherently at Chuck as she wandered into the bathroom, dragging the covers behind her like a child. Chuck just grinned, smacking her backside as she walked past. She shrieked and turned round to face him, scrunching her face up in annoyance. Chuck just grinned back at her, rinsing his mouth from the fluoride taste and placing his toothbrush back in the bathroom cabinet in its pot.

Chuck Grant didn’t know how he had gotten so lucky with Y/n, she was funny, smart, beautiful and she’d put up with his teasing ever since Toccoa. She followed him out of the C47 on D-Day, fought beside him in Carentan and shared his foxhole in the Bois Jacques. Even when he was injured she stayed by his side, holding his hand as he slipped in and out of consciousness.

Half an hour later, the car horn outside drew Chuck from his thoughts. It was Floyd Talbert, his battered green Chevrolet pulled up onto the pavement outside. He was giving them a lift to Easy Company’s first yearly reunion. The men had all kept in contact after going their separate ways back in the States and between them, George and Bill had organised for them to all get together. Most of them were bringing their wives and girlfriends along and Chuck was pleased to have Y/n by his side.

“Y/n, come on, Tab’s here,” Chuck called, starting in amazement as his girlfriend appeared at the bottom of the stairs, a baby blue dress flowing around her frame and her hair was curled and pinned neatly to the back of her head. She looked as beautiful in that dress as the day she had in Aldbourne. Chuck kept the picture of her from their first date in his jacket pocket and it went everywhere he did. “I’m coming.”

They hurried down the path, Chuck shutting the white gate at the end of the pathway. “Hey Chuck,” Tab greeted him as he hopped into the front seat beside his friend.

“How have you been?”

“We’ve been good. Can’t complain. How about you?”

Floyd looked at him confused but did ask any more questions. “Yeah, I’m okay. Doing the best I can but I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon.”

They mainly travelled in silence after that, with the occasional conversation and Chuck reached across to hold Y/n hand, squeezing it gently.

Floyd pulled into a parking space and watched in amusement as George Luz came barrelling across the car park towards them. “TAB! CHUCK! YOU MADE IT!” He shouted, throwing himself into both the men’s arms. Floyd and George were laughing and chatting as Chuck helped Y/n down from the truck, taking her hand with a smile. “Well let’s face the music. George is as wild as ever.”

Y/n sniggered, “did you honestly expect him to change.”

“No, not really.”

“Hey Chuck, come see the others,” George grabbed his arm, pulling him towards the building where the other members of Easy Company were already waiting.

The reunion was going well, Chuck was so glad Y/n had talked him into going. He’d been reluctant at first, still haunted by the nightmares of the friends he had lost, he didn’t know if he could face seeing the men he went through hell and back with.

“So how’s things going with Vera?” Chuck asked, leaning against the bar beside Eugene Roe, nursing his beer that he came accustomed to enjoying while staying in Aldbourne.

“Real good, there ain’t a day goes by where I’m not smiling anymore. It helps to have someone to get you through each day,” Eugene suddenly looked up a little shocked. “Oh Grant, I'm so sorry. I didn’t mean to… well you know… I just… I’m sorry.”

“What are you sorry for Gene? Y/n and I are very happy. We moved into our new house a few months ago, and it's all going well.”

Eugene rested his hand on Chuck’s arm, “Grant, it’s okay to not be alright. None of us are ever going to be alright again, it haunts us all but I know things will get better. I have to believe that.”

“Gene, I’m fine. I couldn’t be better. Y/n and I are very happy.”

Eugene bit his lip as if trying to find the right words to say. He looked over Chuck’s shoulder where George and Floyd had both appeared and had heard the conversation.

“Chuck, I know you miss Y/n…” Floyd began and Chuck turned around to face him.

“What do you mean? Y/n is right there,” he pointed through the crowd to an empty corner of the room and waved. “See she’s waving at us.”

“Chuck…” Floyd approached carefully, resting his hand on his friend's shoulder. “Y/n isn’t there Buddy. Y/n isn’t here. She died, Chuck.”

Chuck snorted, “No she didn’t. If she’d died, who have I been living with?”

Chuck had to admit that the house was often quiet but Y/n had never been very loud spoken, and only one side of the bed had ever looked as if it was slept in, and there was only one toothbrush in the cabinet…

“No, but she’s right there…” Chuck trailed off as he pointed to the empty corner, Y/n was no longer there waving back at him.

“But… but where is she?” He cried, feeling hot tears fall down his red cheeks as the realisation hit, turning to his friends and demanding answers. Where was his girl? What happened?

“She got hit, Chuck. The same night Bill and Joe got hit. She was trying to help them, remember?”

Chuck couldn’t remember. No, he couldn’t remember any of it. Y/n had been with him though. When they left Foy and moved on to Noville she had been there. When they found the concentration camp she was the first one to help them. When they were in Austria she had been there watching the baseball game.

“But where is she, Tab? Where is she?” Chuck slid to the floor, sobbing and clutching hold of Floyd who sat beside him, hugging his friend firmly. He knew none of the men there would judge him, they only watched in sympathy as Chuck fell apart. They had all been in his position at least once since the war ended a little over a year ago. “She’s in Belgium, Chuck. She is a cemetery in Belgium.”

“I need to see her. Please can we find her?” Chuck buried his head into Floyd’s neck.

“Sure thing, Buddy. We’ll find her.”

3 months later

Chuck didn’t quite know what he expected when Floyd first told him that Y/n was buried in Henri Chapelle American Cemetery in Belgium. For some reason that seemed to make it real. George, Eugene and Floyd had gone with him, feeling as though he’d need some kind of support when it all fell down.

The car park was empty but they could already see a few rows of neatly placed white crosses beginning to appear. Chuck was reluctant to get out of the car at first, he wondered that maybe this was all a bad dream and that soon Y/n would be kissing him and telling him it was time to get up.

“Do you want me to come with you?” Floyd asks when Chuck finally found the courage to get out of the car.

“Maybe if you could come part of the way with me?”

The three men nodded, following Chuck up the long, concrete paved pathway and up the steps, following the steps down the other side. All four of them gulped as they looked upon the rows of parallel, ivory crosses, each row was diagonally and vertically lined up to perfection. Some of the crosses had flowers placed at the base and some weren’t crosses at all but the Star of David instead stood proudly above its soldiers.

“Didn’t realise how many there were going to be,” George choked, trying to hold back the tears for Chuck. Eugene squeezed his hand gently and nodded, tears trickling down his own cheeks. Many of the US soldiers had been repatriated back to the States after their deaths so they could be returned home but many remained in the fields of the country they died. Y/n didn’t have a family to repatriate her and so she lay beside her other fallen comrades.

The men followed the path down the steps, looking upon each row. The names of men they had never had the privilege to meet were etched into their minds, each life that was taken far too soon. When they reached the right section for Y/n's surname they all considered turning back, avoiding it would be far easier than facing the truth. They had all seen her die, had all seen her lifeless frame fall but none of them had ever wanted to relive that experience again.

Floyd watched as Chuck walked down the rows, wondering if he should follow his friend but accepting that this was something Chuck needed to do alone.

Chuck felt great relief with each name he read not finding Y/n amongst them, but his relief was short-lived and sure enough halfway along the second row her name appeared - Y/n Y/l/n, SGT 506 PRCHT INF 101 ABN DIV, OREGON Jan 9 1945. As each letter sank in Chuck felt his throat tighten and his heart still in his chest. He felt as though he couldn’t breathe, a sob wracking his frame as he fell before the cross, gripping hold of the white stone as if he could pull her back into his world.

“Please, Y/n. Please,” Chuck wailed, his short fingernails digging into the grass at the base of the cross, grounding himself as though his grief may pull him from Earth. Chuck had been told that sadness comes with anger but he felt no anger now, only unimaginable pain.

Ever since the reunion his grief had come in waves, small waves at first, sometimes without warning like when he’d open the bathroom cabinet and there was only one toothbrush when there should have been two. This wave of grief was different, it was violent and Chuck felt as though he’d never be whole again. Y/n had always told him that only brave people cry because they are brave enough to show they are vulnerable but Chuck didn’t feel brave, he felt broken, more broken than he had ever felt throughout the whole war.

“Why did you do this, Y/n? Why did you leave me?”

“I never left you, Chuck, I’ll always be here just waiting for you. What we had was a masterpiece but this war tore it all up.” Y/n placed her arms around Chuck, holding him close to her.

“I’d like to be my old self again but I can’t find him, Y/n.” Chuck sobbed, grabbing hold of her arms and pulling her even closer.

“I’ll wait for you Chuck, I promise.”

Chuck closed his eyes, savouring their last embrace. “I loved you so.”

“Back before you lost the one real thing you’ve ever known.”

“It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well,” Chuck whispered as Y/n faded from his embrace and he was left once again floating alone in his ocean of grief.

hi brownie! i just broke my heart over your treaper fics and those boys are in desperate need for a happy ending so i have some time travel fix it ideas-

reaper wakes up on the train with a clear mind and memories of being sang to sleep (to death) by a boy who he had only met in a cage of the capitol's making. it was a hazy blur, something that might have been a dream or nightmare, until he sees the boy again.

treech, reaper knows, and when their eyes meet upon seeing each other in that cramped truck transporting them to the zoo enclosure, he thinks that treech knows him, too.

treech had waken alongside lamina, who he'd missed, who he'd mourned, and thinks he's hallucinating. it wasn't reaper, but he grabbed it with desperate hands, no longer stained with blood as they had been moments before. it takes him a bit longer to work out that he's back to relive the horrors again, but the relief he'd felt seeing reaper, realizing he wouldn't be alone in this repetition, in what could be a second chance, is overwhelming.

so, after a bit of time to comfort each other, they get to talking aobut what to do. treech isn't leaving lamina behind, and reaper doesn't want to abandon dill either, so they're trying to work out something to get the four of them out- except it's not a very big enclosure so someone overhearing their escape plan quickly spirals into all of the tributes plotting to get the heck out. treech and reaper know what's to come, it's just a matter of working out a plan to escape & what point in time would give them the best chance of success.

maybe it's intervening early to keep brandy alive (and verbally tearing arachne a new one while they're at it). maybe it's getting closer to their mentors to get some actual support for their situation. maybe it's during the arena bombing and using that chance to book it out of there. maybe it's just collectively deciding that they're not going to kill each other in the arena bc if the capitol wants to prove they're monsters, then they're going to raise the mirror back at them. if it's that last one, then maybe they all just get a chance to be kids having a found family arc :)

Honestly yeah this would be an amazing explanation for how any given fix-it starts. Two dumbasses in love don't wanna lose each other or their friends again and it spirals. Aside from the obvious coming to terms with all this, the happiness at seeing their lost ones alive again and the brief panic at having to relive this all over again, I bring you a new fix-it AU:

Star Crossed Lovers save the world, but several decades earlier and a whole lot more gay

Treech and Reaper have their reunion and decide it's obvious what they're here to do: Save all the tributes (and unbeknownst to them the whole of Panem). They bring their partners into this and a few other tributes overhear and join. While they briefly discuss escaping, it quickly becomes clear there are simply too many things that could go wrong and too many factors out of their control for it to be viable. Such a large group of kids simply doesn't have the luck for any plan to succeed, and while they'd usually try it anyway... They have a better idea. After all, they have a massive trump card in the knowledge of what this all is about. These games are supposed to be entertaining, and they're a way for the Capitol to convince itself that its better than the districts. Well what better way to shake that up than to play out a love story and make people sympathise with them?

So the two lay the ground works for their "growing romance" so it doesn't feel out of the blue while Lucy Gray steals hearts in the zoo. When Brandy is about to attack Arachne, Treech calls out to her and gives her half of the loaf of bread he just got from juggling, ignoring the Capitol visitors' eyes on him as he gives Arachne a look somewhere between disappointed and disturbed. Then he looks at the rest of his food and sighs slightly before giving it to the tributes that need it the most. That evening they bring the other tributes into it and explain the big events that will definitely happen despite their interference with the timeline. The interviews, the bombing, and the Plinth Prize motivation for the mentors. Oh also Sejanus being trustworthy. They decide to try and show their mentors that the districts are people too in hopes of planting a seed of doubt large enough to get them out of the games in the long run because they're smart enough to realize they don't have actual power here. Just the ability to try and influence those who do. Now, Treech was very uncharitable to Vipsania in the last timeline for very valid reason, but he's had a while to come to terms with it and those minutes (maybe even hours, he's not sure. It's a blur) after Reaper's death gave him some perspective in hindsight. She wasn't great, but a part of her did care. Besides, reliving that week before the games reminded him that it isn't her fault. She was indoctrinated and raised to believe what she did, so while he can hate her for how she treated him he can't exactly fault her. Besides, she did send that drone that saved him from rabbid Reaper's attack in the last few minutes of the actual games. This time, he'll just be a little nicer from the start and see if anything changes or not. Reaper also gives Clemensia a chance, though he still doesn't say much to her and dislikes her. All the other tributes do their best to not be too harsh, but they haven't been through this already so it's a lot more difficult for them.

This set of dominoes wildly impacts the rest of the timeline. For one, Treech giving his food to Brandy made him even more popular than he was originally in the rankings, and it happened far earlier than before too. This means there's a lot more attention on him than last time, which is great because that means his little romance arc with Reaper will be far more known-about. Vipsania is satisfied with this until the first interview between tributes and mentors. She's pleased he knows how to use an ax but when she tells him not to help the "competition" anymore since he's already got the attention he gets upset with her because they deserve kindness and he won't add to their misery. This throws Vipsania for a loop because it destroys everything she's ever thought about the districts. He refuses to answer the questionaire at first but then they properly get talking and oh no he's wormed his way into her heart while being clearly upset with her. Now what? How can she fix this? Clemensia has a similar experience, receiving very little from Reaper at first but inevitably reaching the conclusion that he's a kid who doesn't wanna hurt people and he's right to distrust her. They talk to the other mentors and this means all mentors start paying attention to their tributes, realizing they're just kids and starting to care for them. Naturally this ends up causing a conflict because they all wanna save their tribute but that means the others have to die and they can see that that would emotionally destroy their friends.

They talk to non-mentor students about it too and from there it just starts to spread. Vipsania and Clemensia are particularly worried about the Treaper arc happening, but the two lovebirds continue because they know through the grapevine (people talking outside the enclosure) that they're front page news. They succesfully help avoid casualties during the bombing, saving their mentors from death in the process and causing the two mentors to care even more deeply about them. So much so that they and the other mentors who were saved by their tributes (like Apollo and Diana) talk about it to the news. More front page news!! Gaul is ripping her hair out.

During the interviews, the two steal hearts with their cute love story and then break hearts when Treech starts crying at the mention of the games. just before the end of the interview, Lucky asks Treech how he plans on killing Reaper, since he'll have to if he wants to win, and Treech has been perfectly composed, cheerful and friendly and charming throughout the entire interview but... He still remembers waving away the warning signs just to spend more time with the boy he wasn't allowed to love. He remembers falling down the beams and running through the tunnels, hiding in the booth and tumbling down from the stands. Worse, he remembers Reaper's confused cries, the blade, the blood soaking through his pants and that all-consuming cold spreading through his body. And he knows he has to answer, he knows he has to keep up his charming stage persona and make people love him but for just a moment he can feel the rapidly cooling blood on his hands again, drenching them. No matter how hard he tries, Treech can't stop the tears from falling as he chokes on his words, trying in vain to form sentences before giving up and sobbing brokenly into his hands. Reaper tries to charge onto the stage to comfort him but the peacekeepers stop him. Once Treech is led off-stage and close enough Reaper wraps his boyfriend into a hug and comforts him as best he can. When it's his turn and Lucky asks the same question he asked Treech, Reaper doesn't cry. No, he remains completely calm as he bluntly states he won't.

"Oh? But a confrontation is very possible. What do you plan to do if it's just the two of you left standing?"

"Easy." Reaper said. "I'll kill myself."

Despite not being near a microphone, Treech screams out loud enough for everyone to be able to hear his heartwrenching "No!" from where he's seated with Lamina. Lucky decides to push Reaper and tells him he's being irrational, but the boy is unimpressed and coldly states he'd rather let the Capitol torture him to death than be the reason Treech's family gets him back in a coffin. Lucky tells the audience they'll have to wait and see how true that statement is and they move on to the next interview. When the games come, the tributes are all scared but determined. They've already decided they'll refuse to attack one another, but it's still a very scary situation for all of them. For the first time, they'll be plunged into entirely unknown territory. Until that point they had a general idea of what would happen, but they're gonna interfere with the games so much by not fighting that there's no way to know what will happen. Treech and Reaper make sure to warn everyone that if a big black box comes down from the sky they have to get off the ground or into the tunnels because there will be snakes in it and they won't be friendly. Reaper and Treech continue their little romance to the point of actually staying together by the time day five rolls around. The day they originally spent together, all alone in an empty arena until that fateful last fight. Reaper has to hold his boyfriend through his memories and fears of what's to come.

Meanwhile, all the other tributes also interact with each other hesitantly, trading food and water and stories or even just a small acknowledgement before moving on. At the end of day 5, just as the sun starts to set, the tank drops. Thanks to Treech and Reaper's warning the snakes can't reach any of the tributes, but they do have an effect. Not inside the arena, but outside. The utter lack of deaths has caused the Capitol to implode with debate over the games, and Gaul dropping the tank to "remind these rebel scum of their place" seals the deal. For 10 years they've allowed themselves to believe these kids were killing each other, but Gaul proved that the only thing killing the kids in there is the Capitol. The backlash towards the government becomes so massive and the pressure from the mentors and their allies so great that the Capitol is forced to end the games and get the kids out. When this is broadcast over the speakers in the arena during golden hour, the camera focuses on Reaper and Treech on top of the beams as they stare at each other lovingly before finally kissing.

Into, Across and Beyond! Scripting: Grand Reunion

In Cosmic Discoveries, after SS!Amy got OMT!Tails cured of the Chimera Virus, they were walking through one of the tranquil areas with OMT!Cream following.

OMT!Tails: This place really is something. With LM off my back for now, I have plenty more time to take it all in again.

SS!Amy: Well, our efforts definitely helped in stopping one of those so-called "canon events" from happening. You've already been through a lot as is, and we couldn't risk you getting worse from it.

OMT!Tails: So, how have you found it here so far, Cream?

OMT!Cream: It's been amazing! I never knew how many other iterations of me and our friends were in the multiverse. I already made friends with multiple mes!

OMT!Tails: You'd be more and more surprised every day, of course!

SS!Amy: What's the bond between you and your Cream like, Tails?

OMT!Tails: Well, compared to the intended norm, me and Cream are actually siblings. I took her in after her mom lost her life to OMT, and we had been living with my Knuckles and Amy.

SS!Amy: I'm really happy to see that you guys have a universe that strays away from all the norms, Tails.

OMT!Tails: Hehe! Thanks, Amy!

They continued along the area to where Skye and Melody were.

Melody: Sure kept us waiting, alternate dad.

OMT!Tails: Heh, sorry, Melody.

Skye: The others are just up ahead from here! We'll follow behind.

They headed forward.

OMT!Mina: Tails!

OMT!Tails: Yeah. I met them on my way back.

Antho: So I heard you met my Tails earlier. What got you two on the move?

Melody: Well, we got forced out of our universe and can't get back in. We were stranded until this Tails found us.

Skye: Yeah, that's right...

Blitz!Tails: As it happens, me and mini-me were the first to come across the little guy on our travels, and he stuck with me whilst Mr. Red-Eyes was chasing Tails around different universes.

Melody: And he found me and rescued me from that Eggman lair full of robot doppelgangers!

OMT!Tails: Believe it or not, I ended up coming across the PRIME universe along the way!

The group were surprised and amazed.

Antho: You met the ORIGINAL Sonic?! Ex-Prince Brian: That's awesome!

CR!Sonic: Guess that's one more thing you can tick off your bucket list, kid!

OMT!Tails: Hehe, thanks!

BK!Amy took the opportunity to try and hustle OMT!Tails and OMT!Mina close to each other for a kiss.

BK!Amy: This could be a big opportunity, guys~!

OMT!Mina (embarrassed): Aww, come on, Amy! We don't need this right now!

OMT!Tails: Well, I mean, we could do the moment elsewhere later, if you want.

OMT!Mina: I'll, er, think about it.

BK!Amy: Heh, sorry.

In a hidden corner, Pana watched this interaction from a distance, quietly sniggering with a smile from the fact that his allies were still getting on great.

SS!Amy: So, while we're taking a breather, you mind us having a chat, Tails?

OMT!Tails: Not at all.

The two headed off while OMT!Cream stuck with the Blur Gang and their allies. They came to a stop at another point of the sector as Nine watched with a soft smile.

SS!Amy: So, were you able to make up your mind about the whole Quill Society thing? There's still no pressure, of course. It's up to you.

OMT!Tails: Yeah. Well, I had been thinking about it a lot. I mean, it's a really amazing community space, though there is still my world to help protect and my friends to be around, so I can't imagine it being full-time.

SS!Amy: Heh, it doesn't have to be full-time, Tails. I mean, you saw everyone here from the Blur Gang yesterday, and it was in the aftermath of a school day, too!

OMT!Tails: Heh, you're right. A part-time rotation would be great for me, of course, so long as it's alright with Knuckles, Amy and my main teacher, of course.

SS!Amy: I'm sure they'd be really supportive of you taking that first step forward to stringing out further yourself.

OMT!Tails: Well, I mean, I could never have gotten this far without the support of people like you, and I couldn't be more grateful. If I do get a part-time rotation and it's on Friday to Sunday, I'm definitely gonna aim to work alongside guys like you and Pana more!

SS!Amy: Hehe, sweet!

OMT!Tails: Hey... I just wanted to say... thanks for sticking by my side through all of this, Amy. I know it's been really tough having to move out of the universe you once knew, but your caring nature has never once been broken.

SS!Amy: You're welcome. Anything to help out a buddy!

They smiled to one another.

Nine: How's the conversation coming along?

SS!Amy squeaked in surprise, blushing bright-red in embarrassment.

OMT!Tails: Oh! Hey, Nine! I didn't realise you followed us.

Nine: Heh, yeah. I've got you to thank as well, Tails. You coming into my life changed it for the better in SO many ways. For the first time, I could make amends with those I had hurt, and that whole multiverse conundrum meant I could finally co-exist with you guys. I mean, seeing this whole Quill Society made me see that, no matter what dimension, anyone can string out from being a wingman and be their own boss.

OMT!Tails: I'm glad to have helped, Nine. You've been an amazing friend throughout our journeys together.

Nine: And you've been just as amazing, if not more so!

The three shared a laugh between each other.

Nine: Well, EV said he prepared your dorm room. Why don't we go and take a look?

OMT!Cream: Oh! Wait up!

OMT!Cream arrived, with a familiar Chao with her.

OMT!Tails: Heh! You got your own Chao companion!

OMT!Cream: Yeah! After seeing all my other counterparts, I decided to name him Cheese in their honour!

OMT!Cheese: Chao chao~!

OMT!Tails: Aww! He looks so cute!

Nine: Heh! Well, let's go, you guys!

They headed off. Over with Blitz!Milla and Skye, meanwhile, they were tending to some flowers in the Chao Garden together.

Skye: So, what's gonna happen if our dimension's... you know?

Blitz!Milla: Well, I really don't want to leave either you or Melody orphaned, Skye, so if you'd like, you two can stay at our dimension under our care!

Skye: You'd... actually take us in? Like second parents?

i think it's never as bad with the two of you and touring as it would be if you had any other job - as jamie's assistant/second-in-command, you're always with the boys for at least part of the tour, if not the full thing (like you might do the entirety of the shorter legs). and i won't go too much into the ins and outs of you being on tour with matty, because i feel like that's a separate blurb in itself lol. but it's good, and you both definitely miss each other when you're apart. it's a lot of voice note monologuing in lieu of extensive phone calls in wildly different time zones (i feel like you're very much both on the vibe of "babe you have work tomorrow you need to sleep" lol), although you do have at least one little phone call a day; a lot of you sending matty pics and vids of you and the dogs and the flowers he gets delivered to you and cool things you see throughout the day, and him sending selfies and pics of places he visits with captions like "you'd love this. i'll bring you here for a weekend when i'm off"; a lot of "work is good, but i miss you. i love you. i'll see you in two weeks". if timezones allow, you try to do a facetime food date once or twice a week - matty calls you with his dinner while you're having your morning coffee, or vice versa, just to keep a sense of "togetherness" while you're apart and operating on different timescales. it's hard, but it works, and the reunions are always extra sweet.

in addition to the facetime food dates... phone sex moments when you're both in bed, even if one is morning and the other is night. never too long, and never as good as when you're together, but it does the job; you know each other's bodies so well that dirty talk hits, and you can talk each other into rapid orgasms, which is kinda amazing. while i don't think there's a lot of sending nudes - there's some, but i fully think you'd have a polaroid nude photoshoot before matty leaves and he takes the resulting pics with him (he leaves you some of him though), so he tends to opt for them for like ease/safety reasons - the phone sex is still dirty; the d word is sometimes used, and matty's definitely bought you toys specifically to use while he's away and he coaches you using them over the phone (but his favourite phrase is "i know you wish it was me. nothing and nobody can make you feel as good as i do, right, princess? wish i was fucking you and not my hand, god, i can't wait to come home and make you feel good myself"). yeah... the phone sex is good <3

Yeah. I'm back with another tier list. The old one is kinda out dated in my views on the show, plus I didn't have episode 8 in it....or maybe even 7? IDK. I'm not going back to check.

There will be explanations as to why I like these episodes (Or don't like them)/ You don't have to read them. They aren't that important lol.

Alright Let's get to it.

#8: Episode 5-Home

Yeah. I definitely ranked this episode WAY higher when I made the first tier lists. It's not really a bad episode in anyway, but it's definitely a confusing one. Also it's just the least entertaining to me. I often find myself skipping it because it's honestly not that replayable to me. It's not bad, just, eh?

#7: Episode 1-Pilot

The pilot is alright but definitely not the best episode out there. The animation is the worst here. It makes sense since this was the FIRST episode and it really isn't too bad for what it is, but it has definitely aged poorly compared to the rest of the series. I don't really get the the teenage hormone jokes. I get that it's not really that deep but they make no sense since their robots. Honestly the only joke I liked was the one with Uzi's presentation. That was good. However this episode does give you feral N, Thad screentime, and Uzi's railgun, so It gets points for that. Overall, it's pretty entertaining but not MD's best.

#6: Episode 8-Absolute End

I really wanted to like this one. I really really REALLY wanted to. TO be fear, It's not a bad episode in itself. I love the animation and I loved all of the scenes with Cyn in them. It's amazing how they were able to make her cute while also making her an actual threat to be feared. The music is top-notched and it's a very entertaining episode. Unfortunately, this is no normal episode. It's the finale, and that's where I have to take off points. There are so many missed opportunities here or ideas in the episode that I think could have been played around with more. This episode also had really bad pacing issues. You could say that about any MD's episode but it is BAD here. Overall, an alright episode, but a bad finale.

#5: Episode 3-The Promning

Alright. Now we're at the point of episodes I REALLY liked. Promning is just a cute episode overall, with N and Uzi having a awkward reunion before running to save V's ass in the last second. I like the fight scene between Uzi and Doll and I like the small little dancy dance that N and Uzi did. This is the also thye episode I think shit really starts to hits the fan with Uzi's powers and therefore makes it more exciting.

#4: Episode 2- Heartbreak

This episode isn't really that popular and it's such a shame because it is SO good! I honestly think this episode was peak purely for the N, Uzi, and Thad trio dynamic. Seriously they work real well together and I'm sad that they never really grouped up like this afterwards. It's honestly super amusing to see N or Uzi interacting with other people that aren't each other. This episode is also the most horrifying to me honestly. The idea of never being sure weather or not anything you see is real is kinda scary and the lord knows I'd be more then paranoid after the shot Uzi went through in that episode

#3: Episode 6: Dead End

Still a solid episode in my book. I...don't really have anything to yap about. I'm not sure why it's so high on the list. I really liked Tessa in this episode. So much so that I cry every time I remember it's not actually Tessa. I like the small Nuzi moment and V's sacrifice, while a bit sudden, did an alright job finishing her arc, leaving episode 8 to clean things up a bit. Overall, an entertaining episode.

#2: Episode 7: Final destination

YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE FINAL DESTINATION. YOU DON'T KNOW! Episode 7 is THE goat. We get to see Nori and Yeva before they got messed up by Disassembly drones and they are the cutest best friends ever. Their so cute that it's almost sad how much their daughters hate each other. Then we have N's reaction to V's death which chef kiss. I love N and Nori's dynamic, I like the fight with Solver Uzi, I like when N killed Tessa (Badass moment), I like Uzi's sacrifice, I loved Thad and Lizzy's involvement. This episode has a special place in my heart. Some say this is where the series fell off but I say that's a load of BS! Episode 7 is an easy 4.5 stars.

#1: Episode 4: Cabin fever

Cabin Fever is just a very heartwarming silly episode. First of all, I love N and V in camp councilor uniforms. They are unironically the best outfits in the series. It's nice to see the DD's interact with the background character and I really love solver Uzi. She's so feral and cute. I wanna pinch he little cheeks. However, My main reason for loving this episode is the ski diving therapy Uzi and N had. It just really feeds my Nuzi heart and honestly, this episode was really the one that convinced me that they were meant to be. They just know how to talk to each other and confide with each other. It shows that their bond is so strong. How they'll do anything for each other. I'm almost sort of envious. I need an N in my life :<. Anyways I do deem this to be my favorite episode. That and also Vizzy sitting together on a bus. Their also real cute and I wish they interacted more, especially since they are canonically friends.

Sex scene questions are NEVER too broad. The depiction of sex in media is one of my favorite things to talk about, for srs or for "YOU GOTTA SEE/READ THIS" purposes.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

He’s a great singer. But because of his anxiety, he’d never admit to it and hates singing in public (this is the exact opposite of Kate who I headcanon as a bad singer who doesn’t care who hears her).

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Watching Constance fall under Curtain’s happiness reminds Sticky of how he acted under the Whisperer’s influence and makes him feel even more guilty for having given into it (when Constance couldn’t control what happened to her). Even long after it’s over, Sticky has a hard time forgiving himself for falling under Curtain’s influence, even though it’s easy for him to forgive others for the same thing.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

He had an emotional reunion and reconciliation with his aunt that was just as emotional as his reunion with his parents in the books. The other three kids in the show all get their moments with their families and Sticky gets an off screen conversation? Unacceptable. I know it’s just because the show can only have so many additional adult actors in the main cast, but it’s so beautiful in the books, my boy was short changed! But not anymore. He had an emotional and fulfilling conversation with his aunt and uncle. It’s in SOS, and it’s canon to me, because Sticky deserved better than “oh yeah I talked to my aunt”.

And now the loser himself: Marlon. I mean what to even say. Jeffers is a loser too, but at least he’s funny. Let’s see what we got.

Headcanon A:  realistic

He’s the only neurotypical character in the entire TMBS universe. I don’t need to explain this. Look at everyone else, even the other villains, and then look at this man. Tell me you don’t see it. To be clear: I don’t mean this as an insult, I have neurotypical friends and family. But look at the way he talks to Jackson and Jillson. He’s that kind of neurotypical. He has “I wish I peaked in High School vibes”.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

Working for Curtain is the only job he’s never been fired from. He was frozen, but never officially fired. But at all his other jobs, Marlon was so difficult to work with, that he was eventually fired from all of them. This headcanon is unrealistic, because I don’t think anyone would actually hire him or want him to do anything.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

This is a rather dark and heart-crushing head canon but… the Happiness doesn’t kill him. He survives like the others thanks the to the “real happiness thing”. He gets the opportunity to condescend someone and that wakes him up. It’s a kids show, they wouldn’t murder anyone on screen, and I don’t want to deal with the complications of writing his death and having Curtain go to trial for it, so he survives and disappears into the void.

“So, uh… welcome to your new home!” Joseph sweeps his arm grandly, gesturing to the decently sized apartment.

It isn’t anything fancy by most standards, but it has running water and he doesn’t have to constantly refill a generator, so he thinks it’s pretty damned nice.

“Welcome home!” He tries again, grimacing at his own face in the mirror. “You, uh… you live here now! Oh, fuckin’ hell.”

He’s buzzing with feelings. Nerves, anticipation, excitement… what will his sibling think of their new home? He made sure their room was all set up how he knew they’d like it! But… would they still like it? He’d been gone for years now… how much had they changed since he last saw them?

The buzzer interrupts his spiral, and he quickly fumbles with the button to unlock the door. It’s them. They’re here. And he looks… probably like an idiot. He tried to dress up nice, but he’s not used to it still. Anything more formal than jeans and a t-shirt is a bit much for him.

He opens the door, peeking into the hallway. They’re not there yet. It’s a three flight walk up the stairs, of course they’re not. He closes the door again and paces up and down the little entryway of the apartment before opening the door again.

This time, they’re there. At the far end of the hallway. Awkwardly jogging towards the door now that it’s open.

They look… different. Taller. No longer the child he’d left behind, but an awkward teenager just starting to come into their own.

Before he can even begin the process of overthinking his greeting, they drop their things by the door and launch themself at him. He catches them in a tight hug, their feet dangling in the air as he crushes them.

“ok…ay…. d o…..wn…..” They wheeze out, patting his back.

When they’ve caught their breath and dragged their bags through the door, they grin at him. “Long time no see, huh? This place is sick!”

There’s no formality, no awkwardness, just his sibling throwing themself onto the couch with their shoes still on. They fit right in, like they’ve lived here their whole life.

“Shoes off the couch,” he scolds, dragging their bags towards their room. “Got it for forty bucks at the flea market, I don’t want it getting gross.”

He can hear their affectionate sigh and the familiar sound of them shuffling their shoes off from where they’re sitting. They fall to the floor with two solid thunks. “It’s nice to have a dad again.”

They’re teasing him. It’s… so familiar. So comforting. Joseph can’t even remember why he’d been worried. He heaves their bags onto their bed and then joins them in the living room, pushing their feet off the couch so he can sit too. Their feet promptly fall into his lap instead.

“So, tell me about this gig. You’re a clown now?”

Joseph rolls his eyes. “I’m not a clown, I’m on a children’s show. But yeah, it’s pretty cool. I get free lunch on set and everything…”

They talk long into the night, catching up on the years they’ve missed. It feels so… right. To have them back by his side. To be able to watch over them and care for them. He’s certain, he’s the luckiest big brother in the world.

Hello, I am mostly a bystander here, but I just want to tell a (positive!) story because I read the “I kind of want this thing to have lore post” and it felt familiar.

Once upon a time, all the way back in 2021, I was in a Discord server for a fairly obscure D&D podcast that has since been ended prematurely. The server was pretty active and included a channel for talking about OCs, and back then, the channel actually had super good vibes! Everyone was invested in each other’s OCs and posting prompts and having a great time. One member who posted the majority of the prompts ended up hosting a little rewards ceremony with a ton of different categories for different OCs and that was a super fun little event! It was treated like an in character thing, with all the OCs actually attending the ceremony and some people roleplaying a bit. This led to “but what if all these OCs did actually meet? What if they fought each other? (They *were* almost entirely D&D characters, after all!)

Thus, the Battle ROCyale was created. I wasn’t super involved/invested at the beginning, so I don’t know the exact sequence of events, but somewhere in there, that original member said “but what if it had lore” just like you do now, and… oh, how it got lore. The participants were all stolen from their respective worlds by a deity named Caelum in a desperate attempt to save the demiplane of Medra and, by extension, all known worlds from the Darkness, a mysterious world eating force? We were placed into groups of four and faced off in a bracket format to determine which group of heroes would save the multiverse. What followed were the most insane 3 months or so of near-constant roleplay, full of interpersonal drama, gay kissing, found family, yelling at god, and chickens. The Darkness ended up being the rancid villain OC we all loved to hate (fuck Ilven) who belonged to the other organizer.

Most of us started another server after the event to roleplay with each other and also just like hang out because we were way closer with each other than with everyone else in that original server. A year after the first one, we had a week long reunion event in which we returned to Medra on our own terms and then literally went to hell to save it. There was a gay wedding at the end. This does not breach the surface of what all happened or how absolutely insane and amazing it was.

Someone who I was mostly just acquaintances with before is now going to be in my wedding party. Because they added lore.

So, uh, yeah. You can add lore, but watch out! It may escalate quickly.
