I just wanted to pop in and give the side characters a small appreciation comment.

The Tina/Verda choice of who finds out about the supernatural is always such a hard one for me. On one hand I feel like it’s better for Verda in the long run considering everything that comes from it for him.

Yet I love Tina and her reaction to it so much especially if the detective is a friendly sort - “While (MC)’s taking care of everyone else… who is taking care of them?” I was crying for about a week after this. Tina is my ride or die.

Oh, I'm having such fun beginning to bring in the branch stories for these two routes, hehe!

Tina and Verda certainly have some...interesting times ahead, depending on who you chose and how their story is developing!

Hello, I have been really into wayhave for about 7 years. In that time, I've played all of the routes at least once and created detailed characters for all of the LIs. I love your books. I started playing at 18, and I'm now 25, so it has been quite a journey for me.

Recently, when I was playing with my main one, who is based on me, I started thinking. She is one where internally, she has accepted the fact that what's happened to her, both genetically and through Murphy's experiments, is going to end up killing her. And that that will end up happening sooner rather than later. She feels like it's something that everyone is aware of. I was just thinking she is so the type to just drop it casually, especially when she's about to do something reckless, like, "Well, I'll be dead soon enough. I might as well do this thing."

How would the LIs act to a detective saying that?

I actually can't answer this as, though it's more based on the MC's powers in Book Four, there is an opportunity for this type of conversation.

So you'll be able to experience that for yourself in Book Four! :D

Obviously there's different ways of answering and reacting to this type of situation, but that type of response is definitely in there for those MCs that are more resigned to it!

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 11/April/2025

I went back and added a bunch into the previous chapter this week to set some stuff up that I hadn’t thought about. I do love me some foreshadowing! But that means I’ll have to go through and do a proper test and edit once more of that one.

Though I didn’t fancy editing this week yet again, so I got really stuck in with the writing!

And the topic of this week’s writing was: How would Li-Sar act if they were pretending to be the love interest…? Hmmm…

As you can probably imagine, it was great fun to write these scenes, hehe! ;D

The MC’s choice reactions were also interesting to come up with!

The second Spring Scenario Special also went up on Patreon this week. That was Felix/Farah and ‘Forget-me-not: true/memories’. F and the MC are falling into such a comfortable place with each other at this point if they’ve been in a relationship for a while, it’s always a joy to write them!

Next week, I’ll be splitting my time between the edits/testing and hammering on with the writing.

There’s a big three branch scene coming up that also has variations to those branches, so that’ll be the biggie to tackle! But you get some…very interesting peeks into how certain character branches are going to play out depending on your choices so far in these scenes.

I...haven't actually seen it, because I'm a scaredy cat and never watch horror movies, lol! So I can't really comment.

I read Dracula and couldn't sleep with the light off for a week, lol!

But I imagine N would enjoy it! Possibly M too, if they could make the effort to sit down and watch a movie :D

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 04/April/2024

Quick one this week as there’s still a few more tasks I want to check off before next week!

Most of the editing is completed! Woohoo! It’s just editing on the current chapter holding me up a little as not only is there a TON of variation in it along with the branched scenes, but I decided to add in a massive choice set because, you know, I can’t help myself, hehe! :D

The choice set I had before was good, but I don’t want good I want more, lol! So, I’m expanding it for all the love interests. Now it definitely feels way more impactful!

Plus, it means I got to add in another small romantic moment before a bigger romantic moment, which is on-theme for this book which is seriously all about any opportunity for the romance!

I also had great fun starting the Spring Scenario Specials for Patreon! Loving the flower language theme :D

Started with Mason/Morgan this week and the pink camellia meaning ‘Longing for you’!

Will let you know the others as I write them!

Next week, I should be able to move onto the next chapter. I’ll be re-printing out the plan to go over ready in prep after my last set of notes for it!

I love that N just spotted how M could feel about the MC waaaay before M did and was like, 'Oh...this is good!', hehe!

And then of course N started becoming friends with the MC and now is desperate to both see them happy...if only the MC and M would actually see what's on front of them, lol!

Will it be possible to have a not so 'rivalous'/antagonistic relationship with Alima from unit viktor on M's route? For example, to talk things out on unit viktor's training path? Will we encounter her if unit alpha/unit delta is training the detective?

I'm not sure if you played the demo, but yes, you can have the start of a good relationship with Alima even on M's route.

You can choose Unit Victor's training scene, but only if you ended on a good/neutral relationship with them in Book Three.

I'm actually not a fan of the jealous ex-lover thing, but Alima's personality really just means that would be exactly how she'd act. But she's also aware of it and wants to get over it, lol!

The Wayhaven Chronicles— Update 28/March/2024

The internet has returned! I can finally start replying properly to messages and comments! :D

Luckily, I don’t need the internet to write, which really was a blessing as I was working on a scene I’ve been chomping at the bit to write…

Li-Sar’s first proper romantic scene!

There’s been a lot of build up so far, mostly as opportunity for the player to experience what Li-Sar is like, as well as if they really want to keep going, hehe. There will still be points to pull out after this, but this is the first time the MC will experience the side of Li-Sar no one has ever seen!

It was actually a lot tougher than I thought to write considering I’d been thinking it over in my head for so long.

I ended up starting and scrapping it about five times as it wasn’t quite the right vibe.

It is tough writing a villain romance, lol! :D

But it’s done, and I am SO happy with it! It’s been talk of a connection so far, but this moment really started to show it.

Now that’s checked off the list, it’ll be onto editing!

And there is a lot of editing to be had, hehe! I need to add in the editor’s edits to the previous chapter and also send her the next one, then I need to start my edits on the current one.

That also gives me time to print out the plan for the next chapter and go over with notes in preparation! <3

Hard one for the ROs haha but what would UB do if they were called away for a very important work™ thing but they had also promised to be present for an extremely important event of the MC's life? (say graduation or meeting the grandparents)

LOL! All I can see is A getting a major headache (impressive for a vampire with healing :D) over being torn between duty and the MC.

Obviously they would choose the MC, but they would be worried about their impeccable work record for skipping the work thing, hehe!

The rest aren't too worried about skipping work for the MC. N has been with the Agency long enough they've earned the leeway.

M really couldn't care less about what the Agency think of their work ethic.

And F puts the MC above anything else, so work wouldn't even figure for them in this situation, hehe! :D

I played the Book 4 demo today and it made me want to reread all the books (again).

I've tried most romance routes (Felix is too much of a best friend type, but one day I'll try F's route) and I started as a Nate romancer but Adam in Book 4..... it's like drops of rain on a dry desert. I'm eating up the bread crumbs.

(I will never do a love triangle run because Adam alone makes my heart ache and I can't do that with both of them)

All that to say I really love the world of Wayhaven and its characters, and I patiently eagerly wait for the next books in the series ❤️

I always love looking through the old books for variables I need, little moments I want to recall, etc, and seeing how far the story and characters have come!

I almost can't believe this story is coming to life after all the years I planned it!

You don't how happy it makes me to know others are enjoying coming along on the journey! It's one of the best things to read about what people say about their MCs and how they've changed or differed from the start of the series!

Or how people's romantic paths have changed from one character to another, hehe! :D

First of all, I'm a huge fan of your work. Your writing is just *superb*. (Btw, I don't even know of this is the right place to make an ask, I'm still new to actually interacting with these things lmao.)

Since I started reading it, I've been fascinated with your idea of various supernaturals, especially their abilities and their behavior. Now, the supernaturals I know of are vampires, demons, werewolves, fairies, annunaki, maa-alused, I believe imps have been mentioned, gargoyles and gorgons, and that's all I can remember.

Now, my actual question is what other supernatural races are there? Specifically, really rare ones. I was also hoping you could tell me if specter-like supernaturals exist (like ones that aren't ghosts but have ghost-like abilities). If so, what are they called and what can they do?

(Btw sorry if this is too long an ask, I tend to get off track a lot 😁)

Oh my word! You don't want to get me started on this topic as I have A LOT of lore that I can't get into the books that I adore and could chat about for hours, hehe! :D

Ghosts and spirits definitely exist, but the two are very different. One is a remnant of memory created by magic on one's passing, the other is an actual type of supernatural.

Li-Sar being a Y'uli'sed is one of the Echo World original supernaturals that I've been so excited to bring in.

I have always loved the old myths and legends of creatures, and it's been exciting bringing them in and adding a twist to the old tales for Wayhaven. But I'm finally getting to bring in some of the supernaturals I've been working on for, well, decades, even if in small cameos, hehe!

So yeah, it would be difficult to answer your questions as there are soooo many! :D

Congrats on all the writing progress! Will the new chapter be released in the public demo anytime soon? Don’t want to rush you or anything, but I am SO EXCITED to read more! (Especially when the ROs finally realize that Li-Sar is romantically interested in MC… I will be living for that drama.)

I think the new book is going to be my favorite so far. Which is saying something - because all of the books have been incredible! Keep up the amazing work, and know that your readers appreciate you and all the love you pour into this story! ❤️

Things really feel like they're pushing forward in a major way finally! This book has been a lot more involved with branches and, of course the new romance, etc. But I'm finally getting a handle on it to push on!

The new demo will be a while away yet. I'm trying to be better at spacing it out, so it's not such a long gap between demo and release. But I will definitely let you all know when it's coming up!

I'm SO enjoying this book! I knew Book Five would always be a fave of mine, but I am surprised at how Book Four has seriously captured me! It's turning into something I am incredibly proud of and unbelievably excited to share with everyone already! :D

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being absolutely terrifying and 1 being tame, how high would you rate N’s Tier X ability?

Okay, so N's Tier X ability is terrifyingly off the scale, but not in the way you may think.

It's something you'll learn about in Book Four.

And yes, the MC definitely will get a front row seat to that fun at some point in a future book... ;D

There will be another update to the demo, yes. I'm back and forth whether it will be Chapter 5 and 6, or just Chapter 5, as there's some quite spoilery stuff in Chapter 6...
