Hey so from what I've heard about the plot of the game the crew believes that Curly was the one who crashed the ship after Jimmy told them, including Anya. But shouldn't she of all people know Jimmy isn't to be trusted?
I think it’s tensions and a sort of shock for why they blame Curly.
She knows Curly is reserved and holding back his feelings on life and his occupation. He zones out, clearly has self image issues and is dissatisfied with life if anything they heard at the party is to go by. He was in a clearly bad state of mind the entire expedition on top of being in a worse one when he ran to the cockpit to talk to Jimmy, someone she likely picked up on having a furthering negative effect on his mental state. Not to mention it was after telling him she told Jimmy alone the crash happened.
Anya likely didn’t just believe Jimmy but it was the only thing they had to go on. She likely was partially blaming herself in that moment for adding what she could only believe the final straw that broke the camels back with the added stress of her assault. It’s not uncommon that victims blame themselves for perceived adjacent events and questioning it would tie back into thinking of the cause which is thinking more of her assault from Jimmy. I feel like over time she stops as it’s not hard to realize nothing Jimmy does to anyone is indicative of their own character nor should the crash be considered her fault in anyway.
I honestly think her asking about it was the doubt she had it was actually Curly and why she likely forgave him for it with the whole “I’ll worst moments…” sentiment. Even if it was him she knew he didn’t do it out of something deeply selfish but a perceived last resort unlike Jimmy who only did it to escape accountability. I know it’s a very kind thought towards a man who didn’t do enough to help you and you can only believe tried to kill you all, but it’s combined with a sort of peace and comfort they clearly had beforehand with each other that is hard to shake.
My own personal take is that she ended it and tried to seal Curly off with her because she finally realized none of what Jimmy told them added up and it was likely him. Maybe she saw him snooping around for the gun or maybe it all just clicked in those last moments just like it did for Curly. She was already worried he’d try something and crashing the ship really isn’t out of that realm.
Knowing he’s just as violent and dangerous as ever and even willing to frame his friend that was doing so much for him, her actions were out of sympathy, acceptance and reclamation for both of them. Curly doesn’t deserve this even if he understands her fully now but she can’t open the case and he couldn’t possibly get enough pills down in time, perhaps it was the idea he’d know in his last few days or even hours Jimmy can’t hurt them anymore. She understands it’s really the only quick way out and she’s doing it so Jimmy gets no satisfaction and loses the control he had over them permanently. Like really he’s only keeping Curly alive to menace him and not harming Anya due to both a combo of power high/Swansea and Daisuke would likely flip on him if he tried shit whether they knew of the past assault or not.
These tangents aside, we don’t actually know how much the others truly believed Jimmy and how much was just going along with his bullshit. It’s all form his perspective so how much they actually where listening is from his understanding only so hey, maybe when Swansea and Anya where talking, it was about this too. I mean, Swansea basically calls Jimmy delusional when Daisuke dies so maybe he figured it out too and is kicking himself for not actually doing more about it.
#it’s also crazy that jimmy blamed Curly for the crash because it’s scary#that’s like a purposeful lie that covers himself but makes it so the others would have no sympathy for Curly or be there by his side#it was intentional to make them lose respect for him but also raises his vulnerability to Jimmy as no one would care to defend him or watch#him other than Anya who is a medical provider and also victim of his effectively giving him#sole control over Curly and his powers as captain which is like a deep desire of his in a way#like he could’ve lied and said they tried to steer the ship out the way but auto pilot malfunctioned and curly got hurt saving him and them#which covers his sorry ass and Curly’s and would make them look like hero’s but it makes curly#the bigger hero in the end cause he risked his life and is now in this horrid state and he doesn’t want curly to have any praise any more#he wants curly to have his condemnation while he gets Curly’s cake and praise#but back to it I think Anya always knew deep down but was to nervous in and in a bad position to do much other than speculate#but yeah the whole crash and lie is a very scary thing because it is a very purposeful isolation of Curly in a state where only having#two people watching him is suboptimal#mouthwashing#anon#mouthwashing game#ask#anya mouthwashing#nurse anya

Hiiii! I just saw you’re taking requests could you do some bolin and/or mako relationships hcs with a badass/cool/badgirl kind of s/o please? Thx so much in any case!
I gotchuuu 😉
Bolin and Mako x reader (separate) with a badass s/o
A/n: keep the requests coming people
When Mako first met you he knew you were trouble. From the way you were talking to how you acted,he knew.
You're the kind of person that says ACAB,very loudly, near a police station just to piss him off,and don't deny it.
Becoming friends was unusual to him, only for him to realize you're a really good friend but have odd ways of showing it.
One time this dude went off on Bolin, yelling something about his cabbages, until you appeared in front of him.
He swears he never saw someone go quiet that fast before. That's the first time he felt something for you(or so he thinks).
Mako would be reluctant in confessing to you. He would be worried you don't like him back or laugh about it in his face.
But it was nothing like that, because he didn't confess. You did. During a fight with the equalizers.
It was sorta funny really, for a few minutes mako thought he got knocked out and he was dreaming.
"Hey mako?" A punch in one's face, "What is it (Name)?" He dodges an attack.
"I like you!" You wink at him, after knocking an enemy out.
Oh and the expression on his face 😭
Yeah after you got rid of Amon's followers,Mako looked at you like you asked him to marry you.
It wasn't a shock when you got together, everyone shiped you.
The two of you are an amazing duo,bad ass boyfriend and even more bad ass girlfriend.
When he joined the police department, you joined him.
Now Mako knows your beautiful, and strong, but he still hates the way his colleagues undress you with their eyes.
God forbid anyone to try to ask you out without knowing you and Mako date.
It would sometimes create arguments between you two, Mako would say some harsh things, things he didn't mean. Of course the next day you'd make up.
But if it was for a girl to flirt with Mako, you wouldn't get all defensive because you trust him.
Now, leaving that aside.
One thing Mako noticed is that you can take good care of yourself,so you never were in need of help in combat.
But if it ever happens ,his whole world would crash, like if you're a bender, imagine Amon taking away your abilities.
Even without your bending you would be confident and strong, which makes Mako admire you more than before.
On top of it,you're great together and most of the people would say so.
Now Bolin here? Oh Bolin, when he first saw you his pupils turned to hearts, and I'm not joking.
Like, you would be over there with your cool car or cool motorcycle, and Bolin would gawk at you from across the street. He almost fainted when you crossed the street to start a conversation with him.
Of course Bolin would be a flustered mess every time you flirted with him.
Frankly all you wanted was a soft boy to match with your tough personality. The people who don't know you would think you'd prefer a boy with the same personality as you,but no, Bolin is the perfect boy.
Some people think you're intimidating, but not Bolin.
He knows you're badass, but he could never see you as scary.
He likes when you stand up for yourself, and for him.
One time Bolin happened to trip over this guy's cabbage stand, and he just flipped! Started yelling at the poor boy and all.
Until you came, you gave that man the coldest glare which made him shut up so quick. He couldn't lie to himself that he found it really attractive, especially in you.
I like to think that he confessed his love to you while you were saving him from Amon with the Krew. Imagine him just jumping on you , bawling his eyes out and telling you he's in love with you after he almost lost his bending.
Of course you accepted and returned his feelings, wich got the two of you in a long term relationship that is still strong.
.
.
This one was cute 😽

enhypen as emails i can't send
txt version ☆ folklore version ☆ masterlist
y'all i'm having so much fun doing these w my cat in my lap and the rain pouring outside 🤧 so good. anyways i'm literally seeing sabrina in 2 weeks! i'm so excited <3 maybe i'll post the txt version after the concert 😊
heeseung as tornado warnings
"i guess maybe that's why i'm lying to my therapist, i keep saying things like 'i never saw him & we never kissed'"
clinging to a relationship or situationship with heeseung despite the red flags is something i feel in my bones. i'd do that.
&& that's essentially what the song is about...lying to your therapist because you know hee is a walking red flag & isn't good for you, yet you're doing it anyways (come on y'all,, self-respect!!)
but admittedly, i even do that for people who aren't heeseung, so for him, i could overlook quite a bit.
my point is...heeseung would make moving on hard by existing
also...don't lie to your therapist. it's a waste of money.
sunghoon as how many things
"i wonder how many things you wanna do, you think i'm in-between"
i can see sunghoon getting over you faster than you do him. or at least him being able to hide it better.
&& yeah he might care about you...but he is not thinking about you nearly as much as you are him (even when you're trying your absolute hardest to limit it)
the feeling is even worse if you're still technically dating which would literally be the worst because it's a slowburn break-up who wants that?!
&& it sucks, the feeling sucks & my point is that sunghoon would probably make you feel it 🙂💔
this song makes me SICK sometimes because it's painfully relatable & this connection makes it kinda better?? or worse?? proably worse. 🤧
jungwon as nonsense
"lookin' at you got me thinkin' nonsense, cartwheels in my stomach when you walk in"
before you jump me...yes, i considered jake. i thought he fit bad for business better though 👊 so jungwon got nonsense 🫶🏽
&& i will stand by my decision!! because i just know he's the type of guy who (while very approachable) would be so hard to talk to if you had a crush on him
it's such a cute song & i can vividly picture tripping over my words in front of him & having zero personality because i can't think straight
if any of y'all get a shot with him...good luck soldier 🫡
ni-ki as fast times
"these are fast times & fast nights, yeah, no time for rewrites, we couldn't help it"
this song is about a youthful & impulsive relationship,, so ni-ki was the obvious fit
i can imagine ni-ki & his partner making really bad decisions while dating, at least at the very beginning
like he'd probably convince you to climb on a private rooftop or crash an engagement party with him
&& the relationship might just go way faster than intended
sometimes they're really shitty decisions, but sometimes they're not which is what matters!! sort of??
jake as bad for business
"he's good for my heart, but he's bad for business, tears me apart when he grants my wishes"
if people hated you for dating jake...you probably wouldn't care lmfaooo you're the one cuddling with him 🫶🏽
now, if you were both idols (let's put on our imagination caps 🧢) & it was affecting your job like in the song -- that sucks, & he'd try his best to make sure it doesn't hurt you, but...there's not much to be done sometimes
you're strong though you got through it :)
"never been so glad to be so tired" yeah. that checks out.
it's just such a cute song & it almost always reminds me of him now hehe
jay as opposite
"i know now, that even if i try to change, that somehow, you'd end up with her anyway"
this song makes me sick because it's so relatable (part 2)
the whole idea that ur partner isn't actually attracted to you while you're dating is so scary
clearly, there's no proof of that being the case in this song...but it's the conclusion she jumped to when they dated someone who looked nothing like her right after
i think jay might do that. probably unintentionally, but still.
if the relationship went sour, he might want change & go for someone different, whether in personality or in looks
&& it would feel so shitty, but you'd make it out & do the same thing eventually :D
sunoo as feather
"i feel so much lighter like a feather with you out my life"
to whoever is reading this...sorry. you're the problem he's the one who feels lighter after dropping YOU 🙄🤷♀️
okay but for real...sunoo would take a hot minute to calibrate & get over you but after that period he is DONE
he's gonna be civil with you but he's cackling with his buddies afterwards. he's FINE.
i hope you are too ;)

do it | boo seungkwan
title: do it
pairing: boo seungkwan x fem reader
rating: explicit (18+)
word count: 4.5k
genres: friends to lovers, fluff, smut
summary: when you and your crush best friend watch a scary movie together and can't sleep, you have to let him stay over... right?
warnings: smut (kissing, dirty talk, oral, fingering, unprotected sex), pet names (baby, sweetie), same bed trope, seungkwan is a tiny bit mean, but he also loves kissing!
a/n: this is my first svt fic and i look forward to writing more ;w; thanks for reading!
“Whose idea was this again?”
You jumped at the voice coming from the other side of the couch. Seungkwan had somehow ended up sitting right next to you (hogging the blanket, mind you) so you could hear the slight tremble in his unusually quiet voice.
Your friend group was very aware of this as they had to deal with the aftermath of hearing half-assed movie reviews from the both of you. This week, Vernon had taken it upon himself to recommend watching Midsommar. “It’s not that scary,” he had said with a slight grin.
You and Seungkwan’s weekly movie nights were usually a great time. Both of you would take turns picking a film to watch. It was possible that you were both using these nights as an opportunity to get tipsy and inhale snacks.
Yeah, either that was a lie or you and Seungkwan were the biggest crybabies on Earth.
“Vernon’s idea,” you whispered back. You could hear the annoyed grumbling of your friend next to you and that made you giggle.
“Are you laughing at me now?!” Seungkwan gasped and flicked your knee from under the blanket you were sharing. “Like you weren’t almost crying earlier when the movie had barely started.” He went back to pouting and staring at the screen.
You smiled in amusement again and glanced at his side profile. Now, it was just common sense that Seungkwan was attractive. It was most obvious to you on nights like this when you were stuck next to him, his face lit up by the television screen. He had gone blonde recently as well so he looked even more ethereal than usual. You were quick to push back those thoughts and refocus on the movie.
---
It was about an hour later and Seungkwan was now clinging to your side in fear. He was so jittery and nervous throughout the whole movie that you almost felt bad - almost. It was hard to focus at the moment with him grabbing your arm and trying to hide behind you.
“Look, it’s over! No more torture!” You poked him in the cheek and he finally moved back a little when he realized how close he was to you.
“That was ridiculous. I don’t know how people willingly watch scary things…” Seungkwan said with a slight frown and you could tell that he was relieved it was over.
“I mean, it’s kind of funny that Vernon was able to prank us so easily,” you said with a shrug and were quickly met with a glare from your friend.
“We have different definitions of funny.” You laughed out loud at that and Seungkwan smiled along with you.
“By the way, you have to let me sleep here. I can’t leave in this condition,” he said while avoiding eye contact. He looked extremely bashful for someone who almost always ends up crashing at your place when you two hang out. It seemed as if he read your mind because he quickly straightened up.
“Since when do you ask? I usually just end up finding you here passed out on the couch,” you replied, hoping this situation wouldn’t escalate for the sake of your own heart.
“Geez, so much for trying to be nice,” Seungkwan playfully rolled his eyes. “I mean that you have to let me sleep in your bed. Otherwise I’m gonna have nightmares…” he pouted toward you.
You let a beat of silence pass as you felt a million thoughts run through your brain.
Why is he being shy? He’s just being annoying.
Wait, but when was the last time we slept in the same bed? Maybe a year ago when you got too drunk together at one of Mingyu’s parties?
Luckily you were able to get yourself together when you realized: I’m the one with the unrequited crush here. Not him.
“Ugh, fine. But you’re sleeping on the side against the wall.”
---
“I think I still have a pair of your shorts, you can look through my closet and change into those!” you yelled from your bathroom as you were washing your face. This was, of course, after Seungkwan had invaded your bathroom and insisted on doing his skincare routine first. You really didn’t like how domestic it felt. Once you finished up you made your way to your bed and got under the covers, ready to get this night over with.
“These were my favorite shorts, how did I not know you stole them from me?” Seungkwan exclaimed as he walked out of your closet in his shirt and (comfy) navy blue sweat shorts.
“Not my fault you left them here. And they’re comfortable as hell,” you say as you roll over to let him get on the bed. You feel him lift up the sheet and get under it, the mattress dipping slightly.
“Oh, you sleep without pants on?” Seungkwan said quietly, obviously flustered but trying to sound normal. You snorted out a laugh and rolled over to face him.
“Duh. Did you forget it’s the middle of the summer?” It was pitch black in your room but you can feel him roll over and look at you.
“Most of us don’t sweat as much as you do,” he replies and you punch him in the arm.
“Shut up and go to sleep already, you baby,” you roll back over with a sigh, hoping to finally rest after having such a long day. Being in bed with Seungkwan was the last thing you needed right now. Luckily your exhaustion was overtaking how nervous you were.
After a minute or two of silence Seungkwan spoke up in an uncharacteristically soft voice.
“Um, hey, are you awake?”
You grumbled out an mhm and waited for him to reply.
“Can we cuddle? I feel like I won’t be able to fall asleep…” When you didn’t immediately answer, he followed up with “I’m still a bit freaked out. I know you cuddle with stuffed animals, just saying.” Of course he had to add that.
“Whatever. You be the big spoon.”
You tried to calm your heartbeat down as you felt Seungkwan carefully move next to you. For some reason his gentle movement beside you made your insides flush with warmth. It was as if he was scared to accidentally graze you the wrong way even though you’d been best friends for years. The silence in the room was so heavy as Seungkwan wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling himself into your space. He went to rest his head on your shoulder and you thought you were about to spontaneously combust.
“You’re so warm,” Seungkwan whispered right next to your ear. Yeah, you were definitely going to die before this night was over.
“Sorry, I can turn the fan on if you want,” you whispered back and hoped he wouldn’t notice how shaky your voice was. He just exhaled a laugh (that you could feel right on your cheek).
“Mm, no. You’re warm and soft. It feels comfortable. You smell so good too,” Seungkwan replied as he squeezed you a bit tighter and cuddled closer to you. At this point, you figured he knew exactly what he was doing. You’d never experienced this much tension in your life, especially with your friend. You finally gave into your urges and moved your hand down to rest it on top of Seungkwan’s. In turn, he pushed his face even farther into your neck - so much that you could feel his warm breath on your skin and it was driving you crazy.
“Kwannie…” you accidentally said out loud and it was too late when you realized. This obviously had an effect on Seungkwan because you could hear and feel him take a deep breath. Nothing happened for a few seconds after and you slightly hoped that he would ignore it. The other part of you was becoming more desperate as time passed. Suddenly, you felt Seungkwan’s hand slowly move towards the edge of your shirt and pause.
“Is this okay?” he whispered directly into your ear in a voice you weren’t used to. You were used to outgoing and friendly Seungkwan with his sweet voice. This Seungkwan had a breathy and deep tone that caused a shiver to run through your body.
“Please,” you said louder than you meant to and you almost cringed at how embarrassed you were. How were you already begging when he just barely moved his hand down your body? And what exactly were you asking for?
Apparently Seungkwan didn’t feel the same way because his movements only seemed to grow more confident. He smoothly ran his hand under your shirt and across the warm skin of your stomach. You bit back a gasp and covered his hand with your own. Softly, Seungkwan rolled your body over so that you were laying on your back. He positioned himself above you and he was so close that you could slightly see him in the darkness. The tenderness of each action was making your heart ache even as you found yourself lying beneath him. Suddenly, his hand reached over to turn on your bedside lamp.
Once you were both slightly illuminated Seungkwan looked down at you and smiled.
“You look so beautiful, I wanna see you,” he said with a huge grin and it made you cover your face in embarrassment.
“You’re insane,” you said with a laugh and he grabbed your hands to move them away.
“Don’t laugh at me, I’m serious!” he added with a pout. After the laughter dispersed, you finally took some initiative and pulled Seungkwan down into a peck on the lips. He hesitated for a moment out of shock but quickly grabbed your face and kissed you deeply. You felt like your heart was going to beat out of your chest. Seungkwan was a very careful and passionate kisser, unlike what you expected. You opened your mouth a bit wider to deepen the kiss and let him slip his tongue in, letting out a tiny moan at the feeling. You were getting more and more turned on by the second. After a few minutes of making out, Seungkwan’s hands began roaming your body before he paused.
“Um, I’m not sure how to word this but… how far do you wanna go? I mean, it’s just that we’re friends and I like you and I don’t want to pressure you into-”
You took both of his hands into yours to make him stop rambling.
“Seungkwan, I want you. I’ve wanted this for so long,” you said, hoping that you could get your message across to him. He grinned and nodded, slightly embarrassed that you had to stop him from his nervous ranting. Seungkwan’s obvious jumpiness made your own heart calm down a bit, and he leaned down and pulled you into an even deeper kiss as he interlocked your fingers together. You squeezed his hands and let yourself melt easily beneath his touch. His tongue began to explore your mouth again, which caused you to arch up against Seungkwan’s body. Now it was his turn to let out a moan and grind his hips down against yours.
“You’re driving me crazy,” he said with a heavy gasp as he pulled back from the kiss to breathe. You looked back up at him in a daze, and your body felt like it was on fire. You could feel how hard Seungkwan was from where he was positioned above you. Suddenly feeling a bit bolder, you wrapped your legs around his waist so you could feel him completely. This caused Seungkwan to groan and move his lips down to your neck. He began to push your oversized shirt up and you immediately took the hint to lift your arms so he could yank the shirt off of you and throw it off the bed. Seungkwan looked over your exposed body with a pleased look on his face, bending down to kiss your cheek and whisper in your ear.
“You’re so gorgeous, and all for me,” he said, his words laced with a tiny bit of possessiveness that you loved.
You swallowed heavily and replied quietly, “Now I want to see you.”
Seungkwan laughed and pulled his own shirt and shorts off, leaving him in his black underwear. You couldn’t help but stare at his body, totally sure that your expression looked like you wanted to eat him whole.
“Nothing you haven’t seen before,” he added with a wink that made you snort. You never understood how Seungkwan was so funny but still so sexy when he wanted to be. Your own friend was an enigma to you sometimes. He crawled back to his position over you and you ran your hands down his (very solid) chest.
“I know, but you’re still hot. And it seems like you’ve been working out,” you emphasized your words with a squeeze at his biceps. He exhaled another laugh and firmly slid his hands up and over your breasts, drawing a gasp out of you.
“Don’t tease me,” he mumbled before capturing your mouth in a deep kiss as he began to massage your tits and run his thumbs over your hard nipples. You moaned loudly into his mouth and quickly resumed your earlier position with your legs around his waist, grinding up into his erection. Seungkwan kissed his way down your neck and to your breasts, taking one of your nipples into his mouth and sucking harshly on it while squeezing the other. You moaned his name out and twisted both of your hands into his soft blonde hair. He pulled back a bit and looked at you with dark eyes.
“Your body is so sensitive, huh? Just like I imagined,” Your groan caught in your throat and your brain scrambled at his words. He went back to sucking on your breasts, leaving hickeys on your chest and taking his time kissing all over you. The feeling made you squirm even more. Seungkwan then moved down your stomach and made himself comfortable between your open legs. You lifted your head up a bit to look down at him and as you both made eye contact, he moved his thumb across your underwear in a rubbing motion. You moaned loudly in surprise.
“Do you realize how wet you are? Your cute little panties are all soaked…” Seungkwan said in a teasing voice and you threw your head back down to the pillow with a whine as he placed his tongue over the lacy material. He proceeded to then sloppily lick and suck over your panties, creating a wet mess that you could feel.
“Kwannie, I want more…” you whined against the pillow and tried to buck your hips up. This obviously didn’t fly with Seungkwan, as he quickly gripped your hips and held them down against the mattress.
“Baby, you need to be patient,” he said, his voice raspy. “Yeah?”
You could feel your pussy twitch at both the pet name and the tone of his voice. The perverted side of your brain had always secretly loved seeing Seungkwan be bossy or mean. You were quickly brought back to reality when you felt a light slap on your inner thigh.
“Y-yes, I’ll be patient, ‘m sorry,” you replied in the loudest voice you could muster.
Seungkwan quirked his eyebrow up at your reaction. He looped his fingers in the waistband of your underwear and pulled it down your legs, your body shivering as he exposed your cunt.
“So you like being told what to do?” he said, looking down at you again. He was quick to hold your thighs apart so that you couldn’t squeeze them together for relief. You were silent, your reply caught in your throat.
“Mmm, I should’ve known though. All those stories you’ve told me about your shitty hookups,” Seungkwan said with a chuckle. “I would always go home and think about how much better I could treat you than them,” he continued as he ran his index finger through your wetness. “How much better I could make you feel.” His finger slowly ran up and down your center, lightly ghosting over your clit. His confession made your heart clench in your chest. Had Seungkwan always felt like this?
“You’re already so much better…” you replied, moving your head to the side to finally make eye contact with the blonde above you. Seungkwan smiled warmly and moved down to peck you on the lips, adding another finger to rub your clit more strongly.
“What do you want me to do, baby? You gotta tell me so I can make you feel good,” he whispered in your ear, kissing and nibbling on it. You moved both of your hands to run across the broad area of his back.
“I, um-” you hesitated. “I want you to eat me out, please.” You could hear Seungkwan’s breath hitch in his throat. He quickly kissed you on the cheek in reply and settled between your legs again. Somehow, he still looked angelic like this. His honey blonde hair was fluffy and his bangs were in his face - his cheeks lightly dusted with pink as well. The only new thing was how dark and sharp his eyes looked as he left open mouthed kisses all over your thighs.
“Just don’t move your hips, okay? Let me take care of you,” he added. You nodded dumbly in response, unable to take your eyes off him. Seungkwan started by rubbing circles on your clit with his thumb, his other hand curled around your thigh to keep you in place. He gently licked up your folds, causing you to throw your head back with a gasp. You truly were sensitive, especially after not hooking up with someone for so long. Your hands quickly found themselves grasping for Seungkwan’s hair. He continued, his tongue getting sloppier and more eager.
“Taste so fucking good, still so wet for me,” he mumbled and the vulgarity of his words made you somehow blush even more. By now both of his hands were firmly holding your legs open for him to have full access to your pussy. You felt his fingers dig even harder into your skin as he licked, kissed and sucked all over your core. Seungkwan groaned as he moved to put his mouth around your clit and suckle on it.
“Oh fuck, Seungkwan,” you whined and gripped his hair even harder. He then inserted two of his fingers into you, making you gasp and clench around him. You were almost embarrassed at how close to the edge you already were. His fingers moved in and out of your wet cunt at a quick pace as Seungkwan continued to lick around your sensitive clit. Once you felt him starting to curl his fingers inside of you, you knew you were almost finished.
“I’m so close, please, Seungkwannie,” you weren’t sure what you were begging for exactly but he seemed to get the hint.
“Oh, my sweet baby,” Seungkwan said from between your wet thighs with a teasing lilt to his voice, his warm breath on your pussy. “You gonna cum already?”
“Mhm, please make me cum,” you gasped, forcing yourself to keep your hips down like he said - otherwise you would’ve been grinding on Seungkwan’s tongue. He gave you a smirk and harshly moved his fingers in and out of you, sucking on your clit even harder. You could feel your walls fluttering around him, the tension in your body about to break. After a few more curls of Seungkwan’s fingers inside you, you came so hard that you saw stars when you squeezed your eyes shut. All you could hear were your own whines of Seungkwan’s name along with his slurping sounds as he helped you ride out your orgasm. After a minute or so he slowly pulled his digits out of you, leaving your chest heaving in search of air.
Your eyes opened to see his gorgeous face right above yours. You also felt Seungkwan’s fingers pressed lightly against your lips. Wordlessly, you opened your mouth to take his fingers in and taste yourself, moaning softly as you licked him. Seungkwan watched your actions with lidded eyes, pulling his fingers out after a few seconds. He took your face in his hands, kissing you more aggressively than ever, slipping his tongue in and exploring your mouth. You felt his hardness against your leg - he still hadn’t taken his underwear off? As if he read your mind, he pulled back from the kiss, still cradling your head in his hands.
“Do you want more?” he asked, and you would think he was being shy if you hadn’t already experienced his dirty mouth. I guess it’s my time to tease, you thought to yourself.
“Yes, Seungkwan, I need you inside me so badly… don’t you want to be inside me, baby?” you replied with a pout, punctuating your words with a rut against his erection. You could almost feel the shiver that ran down his spine and he moaned in response to your words.
“You’re evil,” he said with a seriousness that made you giggle and pull his body down against your own.
“Please fuck me now, you know I’m on the pill,” you whispered in his ear. Seungkwan inhaled deeply, pulling back to discard his underwear. You could tell he was a little nervous about being fully naked in front of you, even with his goofy attitude from earlier. However, you quickly realized he had nothing to be shy about - of course a gorgeous man had a pretty cock to match. As he sat on his knees between your open legs, stroking himself, you could see how much precum he was leaking and it made your mouth water.
“My eyes are up here, jeez,” Seungkwan laughed and it snapped your attention back to him. He positioned himself between your legs, rubbing the tip of his dick against your clit to get a reaction out of you - his cockiness obviously hadn’t subsided. The way he stared you down as you whined and tried to squeeze your legs together made your insides burn with arousal.
“Do you want my cock, baby?” he teased as he continued to rub the outside of your pussy.
“Yes, I need you,” you whined and hoped that was enough. Seungkwan took the hint and entered you with one swift movement. Your gasp quickly turned into a moan, feeling your walls adjust and clench around him. He stilled for a moment, letting out a grunt of his own as he waited for your approval to keep moving. You moved your hips up against him, already wanting more.
“M-more, more,” you moaned out as you tried to grind against Seungkwan for any stimulation you could get. He immediately grabbed your hips with both hands and gave you a hard thrust.
“Is my girl already that needy?” he said with a smirk, looking down at you. You could feel your face burning as you nodded quickly. Any brattiness or stubbornness you had easily melted when Seungkwan talked to you like that. He bent down to capture your mouth as he started moving in and out of you at a moderate pace. Pulling back from the kiss, he moaned loudly as he rested his head on your shoulder.
“Fuck, you feel so good for me,” Seungkwan whispered roughly, causing you to clench even harder around his cock. He heard your quiet whimpers and pulled back to look at you. With a devious grin he took both of your hands in his and held them down, changing his angle to fuck you harder and deeper.
“Ah, S-Seungkwan-” you were cut off by your own moan when he sped up. You were so overwhelmed by pleasure that you could feel your eyes starting to tear up.
“My baby likes to be held down and fucked like this, hmm?” Seungkwan grunted out, leaning down to rest his forehead against yours. He reached one hand down between your bodies to slowly rub circles on your clit and slowed down his thrusts. He was quite literally making you cry from pleasure but still looking at you with love and warmth.
“You’re amazing,” you gasped out after catching your breath. You thought you must look like a mess laying there with wet eyes, chest heaving up and down - but you didn’t really care. You were with Seungkwan. He paused for a quick second, looking into your eyes with an expression you couldn’t quite place. For a moment you were scared that you said too much. This feeling was quickly thwarted when Seungkwan pecked you on the lips and sighed.
“You know I’m yours, right?” he said with a smile, bringing his hand to your face to wipe your teary eyes. “I have been since we met.” This was the Seungkwan you knew so well. You mirrored his smile and nodded. He leaned down to peck you on the lips, pulling back to hook your legs over his shoulders.
“Now I’m gonna fuck you the way you deserve,” he said as he pushed deeper into you. “Gonna make you cum all over my cock.” This made you whimper loudly, pussy clenching around him for dear life. Seungkwan immediately started moving at an intense pace that had you grasping at his back to hold on. You tried to move your head to the side but felt his two hands grab your head.
“Look at me, sweetie,” he said with a grunt. You could tell he was close to the edge, and you were too.
“I’m so close, please touch me Seungkwan,” you whined out and felt his cock twitch inside you. His hand instantly moved back to stroke your clit, determined to make you finish for the second time. You wrapped your arms around Seungkwan’s neck and pulled him down into a deep kiss, swallowing each other's moans. After a few more quick movements of his hand, you came with a loud gasp against Seungkwan’s lips. You could feel his length throb even harder against your walls as he continued to fuck you through your orgasm.
“Inside, c-cum inside me, Kwannie,” you began practically begging, trying to make yourself as coherent as possible. It was difficult when your vision was blurry with tears and your whole body was shaking. Seungkwan nodded against your neck, groaning out curses and praises as he finished inside of you. You let out a soft whine at the flood of warmth in your core. After a few minutes of heavy breathing and recuperating with Seungkwan laying on top of you, he rolled over to lay by your side.
“We should do that more often,” he said before pecking you on the cheek. You rolled your eyes and lightly smacked him on the arm as he giggled. Even though your teary eyes had mostly dried, Seungkwan wiped under your eyes and peppered your face with kisses.
“My cute little crybaby.”
“Hey, you were the one nearly pissing yourself over a scary movie earlier,” you retorted, trying to hold back your smile as he was kissing you.
“Not true!” he chuckled. “Mm, come on, let’s take a shower and then sleep.” It was surprising how quickly your heart swelled at the thought. You knew that you were done for - you were going to be clinging to Seungkwan until the end of time.
He found your hands and gently intertwined his fingers with yours, smiling down at you with warm eyes.
And you knew that he felt the same.

________
It was a close to an hour later and you were halfway through a bottle of bourbon, laying on the back porch of your mom’s house, staring at the rafters and debating finishing off the whole thing.
“Y/N?” you heard. Your skin crawled as you sat up, spotting your father at the other end of the wrap around. “Are you drunk?”
“This would be an appropriate time to tell you that yes, I am and I also have this,” you said, reaching behind your and picking up a hunting rifle. “I might be plastered but I think that’ll only improve my aim. I’ll be nice and shoot for your balls first.”
“You got so much wrong about me kid.”
You fired a shot near his feet and he held up his hands.
“Why don’t you go jump off a bridge or some shit,” you said.
“Y/N.”
You pulled the trigger as he took a step forward and he jumped when it hit the window nearby. You pulled again but it just clicked as he walked closer.
“Your new momma never taught you that kind of rifle only has two shots, did she,” he said. You tried to stand but got way too dizzy and fell down.
“Well I can still tear you apart with my teeth,” you said.
“You’re drunk and judging by your face, very upset. What happened to that boy you were with? I didn’t see him when I looked around.”
“Touch me and that boy will rip your head off.”
“This doesn’t have to be a bad thing,” he said, stepping far too close for your liking. You swung the rifle at him but he caught it and kicked the bottle away before you could get at it. “All grown up. Probably enjoy it now.”
You crawled back as far as you could, eyes darting behind him when you saw movement. You barely caught the brown hair and green eyes before your father was face first on the porch. You tried to stand but he yanked on your ankle and pulled you down hard. It took a long time to peel open your eyes again, your father now at Jensen’s feet. Jensen pushed down on his back while he talked on the phone to someone and it didn’t take long to hear sirens in the distance.
“For the record,” said Jensen as he walked over to you and crouched down, his belt around your father’s wrists, “I didn’t believe you for a second. Oh and you’re a dumbass but you’re my dumbass. Forever. Got it?”
“I couldn’t…” you trailed off. He nodded and took off his flannel, wrapping it over your shoulders. “I knew he would do something and I couldn’t have him near the kids or know they exist. I couldn’t-”
“I know, honey,” he said. “But don’t you dare ever do anything like that again.”
You put your head down sniffled, dizzy still as he rubbed your back before going back to watching your dad.
It took an hour or so before you could go home and you were sober enough to stand on your own.
“Can I ask why you made the executive decision that you did?” asked Jensen, holding your arm loosely as you got into his car to head back.
“Because I’m stupid,” you said dryly from the passenger seat as he turned on his SUV.
“I mean more so why didn’t you come to me if you were scared? Why make up a lie?”
“You did let me go. You must have believed me at least for a few seconds,” you said.
“No, I actually didn’t.”
“You let me go.”
He was quiet until you got close to the brewery, Jensen pulling off onto the plot of land he owned next to it. You leaned your head against the cold window and he turned off the engine.
“This whole, tired, don’t talk to me attitude right now? Been there. Lived it. I know it’s bullshit.”
“You let me leave so you did believe me so-” you said, Jensen pressing a finger to your lips.
“I am certain of very few things and you are one of them. I let you go so I could figure out what scared you so badly you’d lie, to me. There’s only one thing I can think of so before you even had a foot out of that house, I was calling people and I got put on with Detective Finn who worked your case as a kid and I find out that dick for brains sack of shit just moved practically down the street from us. It does not take a genius to put the pieces together.”
“Fine! I did it in some stupid attempt to protect you,” you said. You glared at him and he shook his head. “What?”
“I’m not gonna get mad at you.” You put your head back on the window and stared out to the dark trees, sniffling some. “Why do you want me to be angry with you?”
“Uh because I didn’t forget to turn on the washing machine or leave on a light. I lied. I lied so big that-”
“You lied to protect your family from a monster. Do I wish you had told me? Yes. But I fuck up so much and you’ve never once been angry with me for making a mistake and I’ll never be angry with you for making one either. I know you want me to be angry with you, feel like you should be punished for what you imagine is hurting me. But you didn’t hurt me, Y/N. You didn’t and I know you get that because so many times you’ve been on the other side of this and I know you’ve never once thought, oh yeah Jensen’s a piece of shit, let him really have it. No. Just no. So I’m not getting mad at you and I don’t know what to fucking say to make you feel better like you always do me and I’m so sorry he got so close to hurting you again. But I’m really good at fighting monsters in this family. So please next time, I don’t care if you’re scared of the bug on the wall or you think someone’s outside the house or what it is. If you’re scared, tell me and I’ll do my best to make it go away, I promise.”
“What do you do when you want to hate yourself for being an idiot?” you asked quietly. You heard him shift in his seat and you shut your eyes, the sound of a door opening and then another. Strong arms wrapped around you and you buried your face in his chest.
“I try to treat myself as kindly as she does. She would never hate me and she hates when I’m in pain. I see it all over her face. So I try to cut myself some slack and ask myself if she would hate me and when I realize no, I’m forced to forgive myself and it normally takes a few hours but it works pretty good. A lot of hugs and cuddling don’t hurt either.”
“Thank you for stopping him.”
“Don’t.”
“Thank you. I owe you so, so much.”
“You don’t owe me a damn thing. We got each other’s backs and that’s all there is to it. I’m just sad I missed you trying to shoot his dick off.”
“How did you know where to find me?”
“Find my iPhone. Also I figured that was a good place to check,” he said. “I would have been here sooner if Jared didn’t drive like a tortoise over to the house to watch the kids.”
“I’m sorry I scared you...and you had to do that tonight.”
“Oh punching your father was a personal highlight for me. Trust me,” he said. He stroked your cheek and you turned into the touch, eyes squeezing shut. “You’re safe.”
“He’s going to get out on bail and-”
“And we have a very good lawyer. Oh, and I know the mayor so fuck his ass, he’s not getting bail.”
You buried your face once again and he put a finger under your chin, lifting it up.
“You’re still scared.”
“He’s gonna get arrested for what, trespassing? Attempted assault? I was drunk and shot at him. He can spin it. He can spin it and be out on the street like that.”
“I’m going to ask the lawyer to do something else, something that maybe can take care of that problem.”
“What?”
“Once a piece of shit, always a piece of shit. He’s been gone for fifteen years. I have this bad feeling you weren’t the only one. Or even before that.”
“Or maybe he just hates me.”
“You don’t have to be scared. I’m gonna take care of it.”
“Jensen, I know you don’t have to worry about the money but it might still not be enough.”
“It’s enough,” he said. “Or else next time I’ll be the one with the rifle.”
“You would kill him?”
“Honestly? Yeah if it came to it. I wish people like him died in car crashes, not innocent ones. We have every right to protect ourselves and our family and I’m not letting him touch the kids or you ever.”
“I should probably say that’s bad but I don’t disagree.”
“Money works a lot. A real lot. Maybe he did something super bad and he can rot in prison forever.”
“Maybe,” you said, spotting a cruiser pull up nearby.
“Stay here, sweetie,” he said. He walked over while the officer got out. He spoke to Jensen for a moment, Jensen’s face a bit blank when he turned around.
“What’s wrong?”
“Your dad had a heart attack in the backseat,” said Jensen quietly. You cocked your head and he shook his. “Your father. In the police cruiser that was taking him for booking. He was just pronounced.”
“He died?”
“He was really overweight and didn’t look to be in the best health. He probably got his heart rate up too high and...the officer said he’d escort us home, stay outside the house for the night, calm our nerves.”
“He’s really dead?” you asked. You looked over at the officer and he came over, giving you a quick smile. “He really died?”
“Yes mam.”
“What...happens now?” you asked.
“We’ll file the report but you don’t necessarily need to press charges anymore. You’re next of kin as far as we’re aware so the body…” he trailed off when he looked at you. “We can talk about this with your lawyer.”
“Thanks,” said Jensen. “We’ll be on the road in a minute.”
The officer climbed back in his cruiser, Jensen leaning against the doorframe. He tucked your hair behind your ear, letting out a deep breath.
“Y/N,” he said. He stroked your cheek, your head turning up. “What is it, honey?”
“I don’t feel bad at all. I’m actually happy. That kinda is freaking me out a little. You shouldn’t be happy someone died.”
“Most people you’re right, you shouldn’t. But there are exceptions. He tormented you. He harassed you. He came after our family. I’m gonna sleep just fine tonight knowing he’s never coming back in our lives.”
“Were you scared of him?” He ducked his head down and you took hold of his hand. “Jensen.”
“Put it this way, I’d protect my family by any means necessary. What scares me was what if I was five minutes later tonight. Ten minutes. My job is to protect you and especially from monsters like that.”
“I’m a big girl Jensen. You don’t have to protect me from anything.”
“Yes I do, just like if it were me in your shoes I know you’d have done the same exact thing. We protect each other. It’s not because I’m the guy or I’m stronger. You’re my family and that’s what we do.”
“Thank you for protecting me and forgiving me for being stupid earlier,” you said. He smiled and nodded.
“You’re my dumbass and I’m yours,” he said. “Want to go home now?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I really do.”
“He’s really gonna spend the night?” you asked half an hour later in bed, Jensen shutting the door after himself. “He knows there’s a cop outside, right?”
“What can I say, Jared...he thinks of you like a little sister,” he said. “I can’t blame him for being protective.”
“I’ll be right back,” you said. You climbed out of bed and went downstairs, the light dim aside from where Jared was reading on the couch, a blanket over his legs. He looked over the top of the book and set it down, sitting up.
“Everything alright?” he asked. You smiled and took a seat on the edge of the couch, pulling him into a hug.
“Thanks for staying,” you said, a pair of large arms wrapped around your back.
“Of course.”
“You do know there’s nobody to bother us now, right?”
“I know. Some peace of mind never hurt anybody though,” he said. “Go on back to your fiance. You guys had a rough night.”
“Yeah,” you said, closing your eyes. “Thanks.”
He kissed your temple and you returned to your room, Jensen pulling you under the covers. You let out a deep breath, turning into his side.
“Here,” he said. He started to take off his bracelet but you shook your head.
“It’s yours, Jensen. I feel safe, I promise.”
“You’re tense still, honey.”
“Still working on that not being so angry at myself thing,” you said. He smiled and kissed you quickly, laying an arm over your waist. “I know what you said but I still want you to be pissed at me for lying.”
“You didn’t hurt me.”
“But-”
“You didn’t hurt me, Y/N and you know what? Sometimes, you’re gonna hurt me and I’m gonna hurt you. We’ll have bad days and get annoyed with one another. I’ll leave dishes in the sink and make a mess of the closet. You’ll chew with your mouth open and never fill up your car with gas until it’s too low. We’re not perfect. But even if we do hurt each other, we forgive each other because that’s what you do. We’re not always gonna like each other and what we do but we’ll always love each other. I don’t want to be mad at you. I want you to feel safe and know that I understand why you did what you did. I do. Please try to let it go, for me.”
“I am trying,” you said quietly. You shut your eyes and turned away, his arm over you pulling you back against his chest. “You’re normal. I can’t just stop hating myself like that.”
“You think I’m normal?” he chuckled. “Me?”
“Did you ever have to punch Dee’s psycho father? Did you ever have to talk about protecting her? Did she ever put your family in danger? Did she ever-”
“Y/N.”
“Go away,” you said, pushing his arm off of you. You moved over farther on your side of the bed, tucking your covers under your chin. The bed shifted and you tried to move again but his arm pulled you straight back to his chest, fingers dipping under your ribcage and holding you in place.
“I might not have had to have done those things for her but I would have. For the record, you didn’t put anyone in danger. That fucking asshole did. It is not your fault he was an evil and vile person. All you did was try to protect us because you were scared and I know, I know you didn’t tell me because you’re so scared of that man and I don’t blame you. He made my skin crawl and I interacted with him for all of five minutes. Get it out of your system however you need to but you are stuck with me forever. There is nothing you could do to make me want you gone so get used to it.”
“You shouldn’t have to deal with this,” you breathed out. You pulled your sheets over your head, taking deep heaving breaths. “You have so much to worry about already. You shouldn’t have to…”
“Did you think I couldn’t handle the news?” he asked. “That your father was so close by?”
“I thought you’d hate me,” you whispered. He tugged down your sheets and you squeezed your eyes shut as he turned you around.
“Look at me.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Now you’re angry.”
“Look at me.” You forced them open, meeting a soft face and sad eyes. “Why would I ever hate you?”
“My shit’s supposed to stay in the past. You don’t…” you said, Jensen furrowing his brow. “See, you’re mad.”
“What’s that supposed to mean? Your shit stays in the past.”
“It means you’ve had the world’s worst fucking year and you’re in such a good place now and you need to focus on you and not have my shit come in and fuck that up.”
“Do you think I can’t take care of you?” he asked.
“No of course not.”
“It sounds like you’re saying that you think you can’t have problems cause I can’t handle it.”
“Well at least I got what I wanted with you pissed,” you said, glaring up at him, tears welling in your eyes. You tried to push away but he held his arm around you. “Jensen, let me up.” You pushed again and he glared right back. “Stop it. Let me out of bed.” He only glared and you tore your eyes away from his face.
“Do you think I’m weak?”
“No,” you said, keeping your head low.
“Then why-”
“Because you need a fucking break. I dealt with this shit years and years ago. I understand needing a fucking break and people need to take care of you, help you. You’re a different man than the one I met way back in January. You’re so happy and healthy and you have a different outlook on life again and that’s incredible. I’m so proud of you for that. But you’re just, just out of the woods and I’m not gonna be the one that sends you back in because of my fucking problems.”
“They’re our fucking problems,” he said. “Our problems. There’s no your problems or my problems anymore. It’s us together. Why do you think I’d hate you?”
“Jensen,” you said, pushing on his chest. “Stop.”
“Why?”
“I said stop!”
“Tell me.”
“Because I’m scared,” you said. He let his hold go lax and you sat up, getting out of bed. You walked over to the balcony door and rested your forehead against the cool glass. The bed creaked and you felt his presence behind you.
“You’re scared of me.” You scrunched up your face and nodded. “Why?”
“Because if you realized how fucked up I am, you wouldn’t come near me with a ten foot pole. I’m not supposed to cause you problems. I’m supposed to fix them, be there for you.”
“But I can’t be there for you. You assume I’m just a dick where it’s only me and my shit that we can work on right?” he said.
“I didn’t say that.”
“Relationships go both ways, Y/N. I don’t expect you to take care of me for the rest of my life. You are allowed to need help too.”
“You don’t understand.”
“No, you don’t understand,” he said, grabbing your arm and spinning you around. He was frowning, his voice an octave higher if you didn’t know any better. “Do you honestly think I would have been angry at you if you told me about your father being in town? Do you?”
“I put the kids-”
“For the last time, you didn’t put anyone in danger,” he growled. “What is going on with you?”
“How many times do I have to say it, I’m not supposed to cause any problems!” you said.
“Yes you are! You, me, the kids. We’re all gonna have fucking problems sooner or later. Why do you think I’d hate you for telling me you had a problem, sweetheart?”
You fidgeted with the bottom of your shirt, looking past him.
“Something with your dad, isn’t it. Something got triggered in you after that phone call with the detective, didn’t it.”
“Call Ray. Tell him to come over,” you said quietly. He nodded and grabbed his phone, sending off a quick message before he was guiding you to sit on the bed.
“Honey,” he said when you pulled away from him. “Okay, no touching. Can I get you anything while we wait for Ray?”
“Probably should tell that cop that we’re expecting someone,” you said, rubbing your hands against your thighs. “Fuck, tell Ray it’s the help thing. He’ll understand.”
“Okay,” he said with a nod. You rubbed your legs harder and he stared at you. “Y/N.”
“I’m trying not to have a panic attack,” you grit out. “I haven’t had one since I was eight.”
Your head was turned and you felt his hands on your cheeks, Jensen forcing a smile. You stared for a long beat before you took a breath, his head nodding.
“That feels better,” you said, your hands not rubbing so hard. You heard feet and the door open, glancing behind Jensen to catch Jared in the doorway. You could feel your heart rate pick up, Jared nodding.
“I get panic attacks too,” he said. You nodded and Jensen glanced over his shoulder. “I heard arguing.”
“Can you tell that cop outside Ray is coming by and to let him in?” said Jensen.
“Sure. Who’s Ray?” asked Jared.
“Her mom’s old boyfriend and foster dad. He was her therapist when she was little. Something’s not right,” said Jensen.
“I’ll send him up as soon as he gets here.”
You felt calmer by the time Ray was walking in fifteen minutes later in sweats and not much more.
“Hey kiddo,” said Ray, giving you a quick hug before he squatted down in front of you. “Doing okay?”
You shook your head and shut your eyes, Jensen holding an arm around you. He explained what happened, Ray staying quiet. You eventually opened your eyes to stare at the floor, Ray standing and pulling over the bench from the end of the bed to sit on.
“Y/N do you want Jensen to stay?” he asked. You nodded and he hummed. “Y/N.”
“Yes,” you said dryly. “Can I have some water?”
Jensen got up and retrieved a glass from the bathroom, the pair of them watching you chug half of it down before you sat it on the nightstand.
“Y/N, does Jensen know what triggered you?” he asked.
“Not specifically. Asking for help he figured out but not the reason,” you said, looking away.
“Well on the bright side, you didn’t have a panic attack, you worked through it, you trusted Jensen to help you through it even if he didn’t know why and some of your coping skills helped you out quite a bit. But this is something Jensen needs to know. You’ll need help in a relationship and I know this is the big one but he needs to know so this never happens again,” said Ray.
“What if he thinks I overreacted?” you said.
“I won’t, trust me,” said Jensen. “Secret’s safe with me.”
“Go on, Y/N,” said Ray. You took a deep breath and Jensen held your hand, stroking his thumb over the back.
“So you kinda figured out that me having a problem was the trigger and that I didn’t ask for your help earlier and kinda assumed a bad reaction if I did.”
“Yup and that’s all okay,” he said softly.
“It wasn’t because of you that I assumed you’d have a bad reaction. It was something that happened to me that sort of...default my head to react and anticipate things in a certain way in that particular situation.”
“So if you have a problem and ask for help, you assume the person you’re asking for help from will not take it in a good way?” he asked.
“Yeah, basically. If it’s a really big problem and if I anticipate that the problem would upset the person I’m asking then my head assumes this bad thing will happen. In that case, it assumes the much better option is to not reveal the problem at all and handle it myself because then the bad thing won’t happen,” you said.
“The bad thing. It’s bad isn’t it,” he said. “Really bad.”
“Y/N, remember you can share without the graphics involved,” said Ray. You nodded and leaned your head back.
“When I was six I broke something of my dad’s. A mug. His favorite mug. I picked up the pieces but I knew it was his favorite so I didn’t throw it out. I asked him for help putting it back together,” you said. “The amount of rage he had over a broken mug...I never experienced such a horrible day in all eight years as that one.”
He didn’t say anything and you tucked your feet up, holding one up to him and showing the bottom. He stared at it and cocked his head, narrowing his eyes. It took him a moment but you saw when he noticed the small little scars. His eyes flickered back to yours and you nodded.
“He hurt me badly,” you said. “All day long.” He stared at you and you told him exactly the way the scars came to be, Jensen shuddering and closing his eyes. “It wasn’t a good day.”
“Fuck,” he said, standing up and rubbing his arm. “You were six?”
He shook his head and went to the balcony door, taking a deep breath.
“Jensen. You alright?” asked Ray.
“No,” he said, turning around, looking to you. “That many times?”
“One for every broken piece,” you said. He ran his hands over his face and shut his eyes. “The worst thing was just that it went on all day. It was long enough for me to interpret it as conditioning for a result of an event rather than just a bad memory from everything me and Ray worked out back in the day. It hasn’t been a trigger for me ever really but we knew it could be someday for a big life problem potentially. I’m guessing with it involving my dad, it kinda sent me into overdrive earlier.”
“Jensen,” said Ray, shooting you a quick glance. “Y/N’s okay. I’m actually quite impressed with her behavior. There was no hesitancy or waiver in her voice. I don’t feel as though this will likely be an issue ever again now that it’s out in the open and her father is gone.”
“You’re the closest thing to a father she’s ever had,” said Jensen, rubbing the back of his neck. “You know every horrible thing that’s happened to her and, and you just...all you did was throw him out of the country for fifteen years?”
“First off, the law was different back then and it was a lifetime ban. Second of all, buddy, violence isn’t always the answer to violence,” said Ray, getting to his feet.
“You should have adopted her.”
“She didn’t want me to.”
“You were the damn adult. She was the kid. Act like one,” said Jensen. “I mean fuck, you adopted two other kids only a few years later.”
“If I had adopted her you wouldn’t even know she fucking exists,” shot back Ray. “Her father still would have come back and this would have happened regardless.”
“You should have done what you needed to the second he popped up again when she was a teenager.”
“I did not strike you as a violent man but I do not like it.”
“She was almost assaulted by that man again tonight,” growled Jensen. “He tortured her and tormented her and he got barely any time at all for that. I would have-”
“Why’d you call the police then?” he asked. Jensen swallowed and Ray shrugged. “Why back at the farmhouse did you call the police? You could have killed him, called it self-defense and been done with it. Why?”
Jensen looked down and Ray sighed.
“The price for being a good person is making hard decisions, Jensen. Would I have loved to have rid the world of that son of a bitch the second I learned all about him? Oh you don’t know the half of it. I’m a trauma therapist, Jensen. Mostly for kids and teenagers. Do you know how much fucked up shit I’ve heard in my life? The world has so much ugliness in it. But it’s got good too and that’s why you called the police like you were supposed to and that’s why she loves you. She needs a good man, not a violent one. I’m not saying don’t think about protecting your family. But don’t act on it unless you don’t have a fucking choice, kid. Understand me?”
Jensen nodded and Ray cleared his throat.
“Say it.”
“Yes, sir,” said Jensen quietly.
“Ray, don’t get mad at him. He’s not used to this stuff,” you said. You stood and pulled Jensen back to the bed, Ray crossing his arms and nodding. “If I ever feel this happening again, what should I do?”
“You could work on reconditioning instead,” said Ray. “Work on saying I have a problem to Jensen and ask for help, even if there isn’t a problem. If Jensen responds positively or even neutrally and you two work at it maybe an hour or so a day for the next week or two, I don’t think you’ll ever have to be afraid of that trigger coming back. All of your triggers Y/N have involved your father. I know similarities can set you off but they’re small, manageable. You never have to worry about anyone hurting you ever again.”
“I know. I should have trusted my partner to have my back,” you said.
“I don’t blame you. I didn’t before and I definitely don’t now,” said Jensen. Ray smiled and pulled the bench back over to the bed.
“Get some rest you two,” he said.
“Ray?” you said after he gave you a hug. “Why didn’t you adopt me?”
“Honestly?” he asked. You nodded, Jensen preening his ears. “You reminded me so much of your mother and I was devastated when we lost her. I should have been the adult and done what was right but after seeing her in pain for years...I didn’t have it in me to take on a grieving teenager that would have been just as angry back at me. She already was so angry then, I would have put fuel on the flames. I didn’t have it in me to be strong anymore and that’s my mistake for not trying.”
“You can adopt adults,” said Jensen. You both looked at him and he smiled. “Adults can be adopted.”
“Not sure if…” trailed off Ray as you smiled at him. “Y/N, we’ve only just started talking again.”
“Maybe if that keeps going well...maybe things could...work out…” you said. “If you wanted.”
“Yeah, maybe we can do that,” he said with a smile. “It’s getting late. Put her to bed. Don’t be surprised if there’s a nightmare or two tonight.”
“Okay. Thank you,” said Jensen as Ray started to leave.
“Take care of her kid,” he said. Jensen nodded and you lay back in bed, the house growing quiet.
“I’m so sorry,” said Jensen, his head lowering after a few moments. “I should have realized…”
“You did realize,” you said, sitting up. “Even when my head couldn’t come out and say I trust you and I know I’m acting a certain way because of what my dad put me through, you stayed calm and figured it out. You got nothing to be sorry for.”
“I’m sorry he hurt you. I got to pretend to be a cowboy and my dad read me stories when I was six. The worst thing I ever got was a few smacks but I know he regrets doing that,” he said. “Even then it was because I was acting out not…I just don’t understand why he would ever hurt you.”
“I stopped trying to understand him a long time ago,” you said, the door opening. You both turned, Arrow walking in with a pair of wet eyes. “You have a nightmare, sweetie?”
“I went…to the bathroom…” she said when you noticed her holding her wrist. Jensen hopped up and walked over, picking her up gently and setting her beside you. “I fell down off the step stool. It was wet.”
“Tell me what hurts,” he said.
“My hand,” she said.
“Let daddy see,” you said. She moved her hand back and you both saw her wrist was swollen and bruised. Jensen swore under his breath and guided her hand back on it. “Okay, you hold it if it feels better that way, honey. Daddy, I think Arrow should go to urgent care.”
“Arrow, why don’t you go get your dolly and we’ll bring her with us. We might have to wait a minute,” he said. “Be careful okay? I’ll come get you in just a minute.”
“Mommy?” she asked, staring up at you.
“Mommy’s really tired-” said Jensen when you stood up.
“Uncle Jared is staying over though, daddy. Go get your dolly and mommy and daddy will get dressed,” you said. She sniffled but climbed down okay, Jensen sighing when she left the room. “She wants me there and I want to be there. I’m going.”
“Alright but you’re going to try and get some sleep in the waiting room at least, please.”
“No promises.”

Turning this into my fixed post because I NEED people to watch Batman Unburied! It's a Batman podcast with a great cast and an amazing narrative.
The mystery is well done and genuinally thrilling, the audience keeps on edge the whole time while we discover the things with the characthers and it all starts making sense.
The characthers are genuinally perfect. We have two leads, Bruce and Barbara and they are great. Winston Duke is giving his all and his perfomance is masterfull, his tone change is actually intimidating and he just gives soo much life to the characther. Duke performance makes the great writing for Bruce even better, Unburied has one of my favorite Batmans, you understand him and you want to be on his side and he cares soo much. He is a great complex characther and also a great hero and his moments of humanity are great. It doesn't work with Batman is the real man bs but with the real Bruce is a mix of both and he is amazing. Without entering in spoilers the way he is shown to genuinally care about everyone and how he process and deal with his trauma. Chef kiss.
And Barbara, oh Barbara, Gina Rodrigues mastered her exaspareted voice for this one and she did great (all the cast is perfect I can't say it enough). They basically done a mix of older Barbara (in age and in older comics) and Oracle and it makes her such a compelling characther. She is smart and determinated and a bit naive but also she will break the law to do the right thing, she will fasify signatures and hack databases and lie about working removing airplace crash debris. She does not know what rapport means and she is very autistic coding in my books. She is having an ACAB arc and it's an actual well done ACAB arc from the perspective of a cop. Also her dinamic with Riddler is masterfull.
Oh Riddler! Babygirl is a secondary characther working not as an antagonist but as a very annoying consultant to Barbara Gordon. He is a complete dick but he is shown to have genuine moments of compassion and doubts. He is not a good person but he is a great characther, the fact we have no idea what crimes he did beforehand does help. The tension with Barbara since he stabbed her dad (oh yeah a important thing about Riddler is that he stabbed Comissioner Gordon and it caused Gordon to retire) is also great. And he is just amazing. Hasan Minhaj is cleary having a blast and he does a great job of conveing emotion, specially with Riddler as this version of him, like most versions, is a showman and so it's interesting to see his vocal changes on the few moments he drops his act. Another thing is that Hasan actualy presents his riddles in a rhytimic maner, a thing I think most Riddlers unfortunally lack, he does sound like a riddle master doing that and overall it just sounds good.
Alfred is Alfred and that is the best compliment I can give him. He feels like Alfred.
The villain of the story, a new cannibal serial killer called the Harverster, is genuinally scary (and that is the point I saw Unburied has some disturbing moments and it's not for everyone and if you didn't whatch because it's themes are trigerring I respect that it is important to knkw when something isn't for you). He is creepy and the way he speaks feels a lot like a genuine real life serial killer (in contrast to the flashy villans like Riddler, King Tut or MadHatter).
And also I loved the plot twists and the ending was great.
I loved what they did to [redacted], it's honestly my favorite backstory for [redacted], it fits them soo well, it's basicaly my ultimate [redacted] backstory. Not only that but everything about them is great, the voice acting, the motivation, the end. Perfection.

Prologue
Events like these weren’t exceedingly rare. They weren’t anything like Halley’s Comet, by any means, where it only happens once in your lifetime - if you’re lucky. But they weren’t exactly sunrises - something that you can count on occurring every day without fail.
The best celestial phenomenon I could compare it to are blue moons. Rare enough to still have an element of surprise when they came, but not so rare that I should never expect them.
These ‘blue moons’ are actually the events in which I meet an intellectual match.
It’s not too often that I find a mind quite like mine, so you’ll forgive me for the reaction it elicits to watch them transcend the physical level and connect with me on the psychological one. There’s only been a handful of people who’ve ever had the exact standard of aptitude to be permissible into this metaphysical world with me, but now - there’s a handful and one.
The newest addition to the list is her.
_ _ _
Getting a word in edgewise when it comes to a conversation with Penelope Garcia is nearly impossible. Getting a word in edgewise when it comes to a conversation with Penelope Garcia about Dr. Spencer Reid is impossible.
I couldn’t tell you when the first time she brought him up was, but I could probably tell you just how many times since then she’s mentioned him.
A trillion. At least.
For months on end, he was the only thing she would talk to me about. Morning, noon, and night. Every single day she’d gush about him with the same unrelenting zeal as she had the day before and the day before that. It was both scary and impressive how she never seemed to run out of good things to say about him.
“You would just die for his apartment. It’s got this super chic dark academia thingy going on. You’d be really into that,” she would say. Or something to that effect. I was never really listening.
Not that I wasn’t interested in learning about Dr. Reid - I was very interested in him.
As a superior.
I first learned of him when he taught my Psych 101 class. Freshman year me was simply enthralled with him as a speaker, probably due to the charm of his awkward humor. I found it eerily relatable and touching, in a way. That was probably my favorite class, minus the assholes who made it less than enjoyable at times. (That’s a story for later).
The next interaction I had with him happened not even a year later when he came back after temporarily teaching to sit in on a philosophy class. Even though he was only auditing the lecture, whereas I was enrolled in the course, he ended up sitting in the seat right beside me. Had he not been gifted with an eidetic memory - a fact I found out during one of my obsessive research sessions - I doubt he would’ve even remembered sitting next to me.
Our shared field of work helped to bring us back together repeatedly throughout college. I would run into him at seminars, workshops, once even at a library where we were both looking for the same book.
But for the most part, our relationship was parasocial. It largely consisted of me learning from him at a distance. I would use his brilliant research to support my own assignments, read the books he recommended, audit the classes he would teach.
Rather than accurately interpreting my very limited, very professional connection to Dr. Reid, Penelope was deliberately using it as ammunition for her arsenal of reasons why I should consider dating him.
“You guys are basically already friends, and nothing is cuter than the friends-to-lovers trope!” Now that she actually did say, and the only reason I remember it verbatim was it was so outrageous I couldn’t not remember it.
And probably because she just said it to me right now.
“We’re not friends! We’re ... acquaintances. Colleagues, if you will.” My attempts to gain distance from Penelope and this topic of conversation were crashing and burning. The more I tried to walk away from her, the faster she would chase me. It was inconceivable how she managed to do that and continue to pelt me with her perky persistence.
“Even better! You know I’m no stranger to workplace romances.”
That I did. One Derek Morgan or one Luke Alvez ring a bell?
“Dr. Reid and I don’t work together,” I reminded her, if only to burst her bubble of insanity.
“Exactly my point! If you two don’t work together, then there’s nothing keeping you apart.”
I was stopped dead in my tracks, almost causing Penelope to trip since she was right on my heels.
“Nothing? Really? Try 21 years.”
That surely kept us apart.
Our age gap was one of those glaring disparities Penelope couldn’t wave away with her magic wand. Frankly, it wasn’t an age gap so much as it was an age Grand Canyon. He was a whole person of legal drinking age older than me!
Hell - our age gap itself was older than me!
Maybe there weren’t any contracts or agreements or supervisors to keep us apart, but there was still one significant thing doing that.
Time. Arguably the most important thing you needed to get right for a relationship to work.
If there were any chance that he and I were good together, that was squandered by our divergence in age.
Right person, wrong time ... but wrong time by more than two decades.
I could see the smallest fragment of hope wither away in Garcia’s eyes, and it actually hurt to have known that I caused that. Her voice was more solemn when she said, “You don’t have to date him, I just want you to go on a date. Get to know each other better. Who knows? You might finally graduate from colleagues to BFF’s.”
Not that I was seriously considering the possibility of growing closer to Dr. Reid, but there was one question lingering in my mind.
“Does he even want to go on this date? Have you asked him how he feels about it?”
Part of why I was wondering was on the off chance that she’d tell me he had the same objections towards this that I did, which would be good news for me since it would mark my reluctance as a sound judgment. If there was anyone whose opinion was worth something, it was his, right? After all, he was the provable genius in the same compromising position as me.
“Trust me, he’s been dying to do this.” In spite of her preface to trust her, I didn’t. I couldn’t be sure if she was suggesting that he’d been dying to go on a date with me or if he’d been dying to go on a date in general.
No offense to him, but I guessed it was the latter, and if that was the case, he was only being a team player because she hadn’t told him it was me she was setting him up with. Already suspecting that I’d probe further to navigate through her vagueness, she cut in with one last Hail Mary. “One date! That’s all!”
Whether you believe me or not, 100% the only reason why I said what I said next was to put an end to this madness. “Fine. I’ll go.”
Maybe 99.99%.
_ _ _
I never knew how I could lose so much time. Sure, if anyone asked, I could probably account for everything I’d done in my day, second by second. But still, there was this cloudiness, a fog, inhabiting my brain, casting this haze on whatever else dwelled in my mind, too.
I couldn’t focus on anything for more than 4 seconds at a time, and while that wasn’t incredibly concerning for the average human, it was disconcerting for me.
What was going on?
What is going on?
“What’s going on?”
Suddenly, a hand began to wave in front of my face. “Yoo-hoo? Anybody in there?” JJ wondered aloud, causing me to realize it was her voice that asked the question from before.
“Yeah, sorry,” I shook my head to regain some clarity, but that did me no good. My foggy brain still remained. It goes without saying my words were worth nothing as well. JJ saw right through me in a way that never failed to scare me shitless. I could never conjure up a lie good enough to follow that look she’d give me. So I settled for the truth. The question that cast the haziness in my brain to begin with.
“What do you think about me dating again?”
If I thought that first look was bad, then the one she was giving me now was something of a nightmare. At least with the first, I knew what she was thinking. With this one, I hadn’t a clue.
To relieve us from some of the insufferable silence, I found myself speaking again in my defense. “Garcia mentioned something earlier about setting me up with someone and it got me thinking.”
Thinking about Max that is.
Being my most recent girlfriend, it made sense why she was freshest in my mind. That being said, we’ve been broken up for 14 months, which in any other context would seem like more than enough time to start dating again, but therein lies the catch.
We didn’t just break up. She said “no” when I asked her to marry me, which, if you ask me, is one hell of a way to break up.
So from that perspective, it obviously begs the question: is 14 months too fast to move on from something like that?
JJ sharply inhaled. “Well, are you ready to start dating again?”
I still didn’t have an answer for that myself. “I don’t know. There isn’t exactly a rulebook on how long you have to wait until it’s socially acceptable-”
“Lemme stop you right there, Spence,” She placed her hand on top of mine. “You can’t just do whatever statistics or studies or science say is right all the time. You not only need to be more in tune with your own needs but accepting of them, too. Screw what anyone else has to say about you dating again - including Socrates, including Einstein, including Aristotle ... including me. Do whatever you think is acceptable by your standards - not society’s. Do what you wanna do and I’ll support that.”
There was something special about having JJ’s approval. It was like getting permission to be excited, something I didn’t know I needed or wanted.
“I’m ready.”
Born ready, as Penelope herself would say.
_ _ _
I was starting to get suspicious that maybe I had an invisible string attached to me and on the other end of that string was Penelope. It was the only explanation as to how she managed to trail behind me at an isochronal pace. Perfectly equidistant, perfectly equal intervals of time. Must’ve been some form of magic that she was able to synchronize that connection for as long as she did as we pranced around the office, basically chasing me.
“Okay, I know the date isn’t until Saturday, but I really think we need to amp up your wardrobe choices ... like stat.”
Hearing that I was seeing my superior still didn’t settle well with me. I don’t think I could ever get used to the thought.
I should’ve been offended at her suggestion to change my clothing taste as it implied my stylistic choices weren’t up to par, but a part of me, a very small part of me, knew she was right. And just because I wasn’t keen on the idea of going on a date with Spencer didn’t mean I didn’t want to look nice for him for it.
“I’m assuming you’ve got some ideas in mind,” I said in a teasing voice, knowing that’s precisely why she brought it up.
“See! You are a genius! Exactly why you and Spencer are meant to be together!” Her exclamation was just as loud as it was outlandish.
“Alright, calm down sparky,” I shot a warning look. “It’s just one date - we’re not soulmates.”
Then, talking in the quietest voice I didn’t think Penelope was capable of speaking with, she said, “Not yet.”
I knew the minute I showed even the littlest bit of interest in Penelope’s fashion guidance, I’d end up draped in ruffles, sequins, glitter, tulle, rhinestones, or all of the above. Nothing again Penelope’s personal style - it’s just not mine.
I was scared to ask, but I had to know. “So what were you thinking?”
Before my very eyes, Penelope’s constantly-there smile transformed, something akin to the mischievous grin of the Cheshire Cat. “I was thinking …”
In a Mary Poppins-esque fashion, Penelope produced a dress that in no feasible reality should have been able to fit within that little Hello Kitty side bag.
I suppose it must’ve been absolutely backbreaking for Penelope to refrain from choosing a multicolor or at least pattern-riddled dress, so as compensation for the fact that it was only one singular color throughout, it had to be a bold one.
Red.
“Not too shabby, right?” Her eyebrows jumped on her forehead, knowing she’d made a good choice.
And a part of me actually died saying this, but it was pretty perfect.
_ _ _
My life didn’t flash before my eyes, per se, the moment I finally arrived at the delicatessen. It was more like a very specific, singular memory had flashed before my eyes.
That story for later? This is the one.
Psych 101 was my best class in Freshman year ... by a long shot. Come rain, wind, or snow, I was always excited to go. It was a standout course on its own, but not because it was terribly spectacular or the most fascinating subject in the world, but more so because of how it changed my own person. It challenged me, like all worthwhile things do.
There were more judgmental meatheads - boys, if you will - than not, who would jump down my throat for being a smart ass or a teacher’s pet if I so much as answered one of Dr. Reid’s questions. Par for the course, really.
As a result, I had a proclivity to avoid raising my hand. It wasn’t that I was hyper-fixated on managing my reputation, just that participating wasn’t worth the eventual harassment from my dimwitted classmates.
Nonetheless, one day, I felt compelled to answer Dr. Reid when he asked what our thoughts were about the sampled, pretense manifesto.
No one else was jumping at the chance to speak, perhaps they were just as cowardly as I was, and it was clear that he was going to stand there waiting until someone finally would. The silence was painfully awkward for everyone and so I felt obligated, as a student who was actually enrolled in the class for credit and not just to audit like 90% of the other girls here, to break it.
Slowly, ever so slowly, my hand hesitantly inched up into the air until it floated just high enough above the student in front of me’s head. As soon as I knew he saw it, I let it plunge straight back down.
“Yes, Ms. (y/l/n)?”
I could already feel the dirty looks and snide comments coming before I even said a word.
“I know we’re all collectively referring to this unsub as a man, and while that might just be a general assumption or Freudian slip perhaps ... I think the language is steeped in betrayal and contempt. And it would be ignorant not to notice how it reads more like the wrath of a woman scorned than your typical jilted male lover.”
“Lover?” Someone two rows back snickered quietly, clearly to mock my choice of words. I didn’t even have to look to know it was Brad who had said that. Nevertheless, Dr. Reid was impressed with my answer. His lips curved into the faintest smile as he nodded his head. If he had heard the commentary of one Brad Sterling, he made no visceral reaction to it.
With an extended hand, palm facing up, he gestured for me to, “Please. Stand up.”
I fumbled my way up and out of my seat to possibly delay the shit I’d get for this mere action.
“That, ladies and gentleman, is what it looks like to have courage,” He underlined his words with a grand flourish of his hand in my direction. “Putting yourself on the line even in the event you’ll be mocked and ridiculed or deemed wrong. That’s something you’ll need if you are seriously considering being part of the BAU, or the FBI at any capacity.”
My face was flushed from the acclaim he was showering me with. Suddenly, I was glad I volunteered.
Taking me completely by surprise, Dr. Reid wasn’t done yet.
“So, Mr. Sterling,” He began, directly calling out the boy in the back who without a doubt made the remark. I wouldn’t have had any reason to believe he heard it since his attention never diverted away from me long enough to catch the comment, much less the culprit. I wonder if he’d heard all the times Brad made jokes at my expense. Was he finally at his wits end with the sarcasm? “Make fun all you want, but might I suggest that if you like a girl, you do the opposite of that.”
His sickly sweet drawl was followed by a short wink at me as if to say ‘I have your back’, and I was lucky to have already been in the process of sitting back down because my knees would’ve given out underneath me from the sheer exhilaration of his praise.
The thought never once crossed my mind that Brad was so fixated on me because he had a crush, but it all made sense once it did. And if I didn’t know any better, Dr. Reid only humiliated him and brought it up because the realization dawned on him, too.
Was it possible that Dr. Reid was ... jealous?
In the spirit of complete transparency, that suspicion may have lit the tiniest wildfire imaginable in my chest. A wildfire that, even now, has yet to extinguish. Perhaps that little flame is the 0.01% of the reason I said yes. I could only imagine what kind of omnipotence it would soon gain if this date went well.
If he could light such an enduring kindle with simple praise, think about what would happen if he smiled at me. If he laughed at my jokes. If he held my hand.
If he kissed me.
Dr. Reid’s validation would be something I actively sought from all walks of life, I knew that much. What I didn’t know was how far that desire would take me.
I would have never guessed it would lead me here.
Standing in front of a fancy restaurant in a pretty red dress with the tenuous hope that the professor inside might just like it so much that he’ll end up liking the girl wearing it, too.
_ _ _
No matter how many times I adjusted the bouquet of poppies, they sat perpetually crooked on the table. Much like the dark gray tie around my neck that tightened around my throat with every passing second. I had to keep messing with it to loosen the noose-like grip it had on me. Who knew if it actually was becoming more restricting or it was the flourishing bundle of nerves in my stomach that made it harder to breathe.
I was never very good at lying in wait patiently. Especially if I was expecting something. Now that I was expecting someone? I could say with perfect clarity - I was not good at waiting.
I don’t wanna seem the way I do
Every time the door opened, my eyes flashed to it instantaneously. And every time it wasn’t her, a little part of me was disappointed. It was still too early to say for certain that she was standing me up, but my mind was doing what it did best. It wandered. There was nothing else to do after all.
Except maybe adjust those blood orange poppies one more time.
I’d picked them out specifically because Penelope slipped in a not-so-subtle comment about her dress being “a perfect match to the color of papaverales” - her words exactly. I thought if she went through that much trouble to find a color coordinated plant and say the scientific name for me to decode, it was worth picking up a bouquet of them on the way.
It was only the most ironic occurrence in the world that when I went to rearrange them one last time, I devoted my full attention to the action, missing the very moment I was on the lookout for the past hour and a half.
I didn’t even see her until the red poppies camouflaged into the identically colored setting of her dress.
Then there she was.
All the disappointment in the world was worth that first time I saw her with fresh eyes.
I was dumbstruck for a moment, long enough that it warranted an apology for not standing up sooner.
“(Y/n)! Hi!” I accidentally squealed. I couldn’t control myself, let alone control the pitch of my voice apparently.
I could see, in her, youthful naivete where, in others, I saw their age. She paradoxically had not aged a minute, and yet a new womanhood was piercing through her ultimately adolescent appearance.
“Hi, Dr. Reid,” She said through a laugh and a smile, shaking my hand politely and professionally. She was greeting me like I was still her professor and she’d just happen to run into me on an errand. Next, she’d be attempting small-talk for as long as it took for me to let her go.
Unfortunately for her, I had no plans for that.
But I’m confident when I’m with you
“Please, it’s just Spencer,” I reminded her, hoping to break down that governing image of me she surely maintained.
“Spencer,” She tried again; doing it more to be obedient to my instruction than to satisfy her own desire. It sounded so unnatural to her, just as it did to me. I found it adorable, actually. It seemed like she was breaking this unspoken, and very much illusionary rule to say my first name. “It’s nice to see you again,” She added after I pulled out her chair for her.
“Is it?” I asked when I rounded the table to get to my seat. “I get the feeling you’re a little disappointed.” The only reason I pointed it out was that it was true, not just that I’d observed the notion grow more poignant in her face for the past minute.
“Not at all,” She shook her head, which luckily for me, drew a line of congruence between her body language and verbal language. At least, she was being truthful. “It’s just that I’m sort of embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed?” I repeated in astonishment, unable to cultivate a list of reasons that would justify her feeling that way. I couldn’t think of a single thing I’d done to provoke that emotion, and it nearly broke me to consider her internal being substantiating it.
“Embarrassed isn’t the right word, but I can’t find a more accurate one for what I’m feeling,” She shied away from my eyes when she lowered her head as she spoke.
“You could try to explain it to me?” I offered gently. It took an overwhelming amount of self-restraint to not offer my hand with it. It would’ve been so easy to slide my hand across the threshold to enter her territory of the table, but who knows if doing so would just make her that much more uncomfortable.
“Well for one thing, I don't really go on dates,” From this alone, I could already relate to her enough to laugh at the fact. “Don’t laugh at me! You know how dangerous first dates can be,” She swatted her hand in my direction to chastise me.
“I do! I do! I think it’s really good that you’re protecting yourself to the point of avoiding dates,” I was teasing the implication that she wasn’t asked to go on very many, which was thankfully delivered well enough to make her laugh again.
“Hey! Many people have wanted to go on dates with me, thank you very much. You included.”
“Me included.” I nodded in approval. We sat in a short period of silence while we exchanged one soulful glance, borne from the insinuation of what I just said.
“And for another ... I respect you too much as a figure of authority to see you in that way.”
_ _ _
“In what way?”
Rather than tossing me a lifeline, he was feeding me to the sharks. Forcing me to dive into the deep end. He wanted to see me struggle to stay afloat in the sea of his sticky toffee eyes. He knew I'd get suspended in them when he gave me that look. How much I’d be willing to get lost in them just so I could wander in the depths of his honeyed orbs for a little bit longer.
That look ...
“You don’t find it weird?” This was the most honesty I could’ve demonstrated.
“Find what weird?” For someone with such a high IQ, you’d think he’d be quicker on his feet.
“This! You - me. On a date!” I gestured to the space between us. “You’re ... well frankly, Spencer, you’re old enough to be my father.”
“Does that make you uncomfortable?” He genuinely cared about the answer.
“Only in theory. Not in actual life,” was the most precise response I could give.
“So what is making you uncomfortable?” Again, I could tell my answer mattered to him.
“You were my professor once, and now I’m just supposed to go on a date with you and see you as my equal when I’ve spent the entire time I’ve known you, putting you on a pedestal? Do you know how much pressure that puts on me? To be perfect?”
“Who says you have to be perfect? Who says you’re aren’t already?”
That one caught me off guard. I had to gulp down the lump of shock.
“You think I’m perfect?”
“That, or you’re pretty close to it.”
Lately all I feel is bad and bruised
I could’ve smiled, I could’ve thanked him, I could’ve fallen at his feet and thrown my dignity down there along with it, but I just laughed. I laughed.
“That’s ridiculous! You barely know me.”
“You’re wrong,” He simply replied with a firm shake of his head and a cavalier sip at his drink. It showed just how confident he was in his answer. How cocky he was.
“How am I wrong?”
He cleared his throat as though he were preparing to deliver the world’s greatest speech. Then, he leaned forward, motioning with his fingers for me to do the same.
“If I’m remembering correctly, which you know I am, you were the student who had the gall to raise your hand and correct me on my gender identification of the unsub, right?”
The second the sentimental thought, ‘aww he remembered’, came into my head, it was soon followed by, of course, he did, idiot. Eidetic memory, remember?
Tired of tripping on my shoes
“What does that have to do with me being perfect? Or so you claim?”
He was piercing deep into my eyes now, his gaze overwhelming my senses and sending shockwaves akin to the feeling of butterflies everywhere … and I mean everywhere.
“Bravery is the audacity to be unhindered by failures, and to walk with freedom, strength, and hope, in the face of things unknown.”
I recognized the quote as one of Morgan Harper Nichols, but the words went right to my chest like they were his own.
That damn wildfire just got a whole lot bigger.
“I’ve always thought about how if I could be unfazed by failure or even just the prospect of it, if I could just be strong enough or have enough hope to face what I couldn’t predict, I’d be set. I’d be golden,” He paused. “I’d be perfect ... but you? You, little one, have already got that figured out. So whether that means you’re perfect on your own because of your bravery or you're a perfect match for someone fainthearted like me, is up for you to decide. Whichever interpretation of being perfect you choose would be correct, but you should know - I meant both either way.”
But when he loves me I feel like I’m floating
When he calls me pretty, I feel like somebody
Even when we fade eventually to nothing
You will always be my favorite form of loving
“Do you want to get out of here?” He asked when he finally refound his voice.
“Since the minute I walked in.” I replied after refinding mine.
_ _ _
“You always take girls to your apartment on the first date, Doctor?” Asking this in the name of taking a jab at him was the most clever way I could think to conceal my underlying motive of trying to gauge how giddy I could let myself feel about the fact that he’d taken me to his ‘super chic dark academia’ themed residence - Penelope’s words, remember?
“Well, in my abundant dating history,” He sarcastically began, “I can’t say I ever have, no. You’d be the first.”
That shot another quick bolt of lightning to the wildfire in my heart that I’m ashamed to admit made the heat reinvigorate. The flame must’ve been too much for my chest to contain so it had to relocate to my face, where my cheeks were left to burn under his gaze and thanks to his admission.
I was the first.
He must’ve seen the glint localizing on my countenance and decided to speak on it. “Why does that amuse you?”
“I don’t know,” I dumbly but truthfully replied. He didn’t need any more information to get his answer, though. Because even if I didn’t know what amused me about being his first, I never denied that it did, and that was more than enough confirmation for him.
“You promise to be here when I come back?” He wagged a cautionary finger at me like it might persuade me to stay and hold me accountable if I didn’t.
Spencer needed to go into his room to collect an item that ‘shall not be named’ but was apparently essential for our super secret plans tonight (secret to even me) and he was leaving me in the living room while he did so. I guess being the initial girl he took home on a first date was okay, but being the initial girl he took into his bedroom on a first date was crossing a line.
That was alright with me, though. I was in this for the long haul.
“I promise I pose no flight risk, Your Honor,” I taunted with a coy tone. “But I can’t promise I won’t snoop around some.” Hey, at least I was telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
“Snoop around all you want,” He laughed ruefully, demonstrating an openness I quite envied and admired. “You’ll probably learn a lot about me that way. And you won’t even have to talk to me to do that!” I knew he was only saying that out of self-deprecating tendencies he harbored, but I couldn’t help feeling that a small part of him actually believed that I wasn’t interested in talking to him.
“Spencer, you know I do like talking to you right?” I caught him just before he ran into his room. Already halfway in the door, I could still catch the megawatt smile on his face.
“So stay then,” His smile grew impossibly bigger. “We can talk all you want when I get back.”
The door closed, and then suddenly reopened to let just his face through, a face that said, ‘Don’t go anywhere.’
After a few minutes of loudly sorting through his room, I heard the sanctimonious cry of victory. “Found it!”
I could hear the little pad of his feet and he happily trotted out of the room. “Ta-da! My stargazing kit.” He said it as though he were introducing the basket he was holding to me, and me to it. Like it was a real person he wanted me to know. I almost felt obliged to say, ‘Hi stargazing kit! It’s so nice to meet you. I’m (y/n)!’
“Let’s go,” He smiled, reaching for my hand.
I unabashedly took it, because although it meant that I was truly leaving his apartment, I had a very strong feeling that I would be back here again one day.
_ _ _
We were lying there on this big quilted comforter that was stashed away in that stargazing kit of his, staring up at the sky, drunk on the sound of our occasional fits of laughter.
“It’s Earth Day, you know that?” I wondered aloud in a state of complete euphoria.
“I actually did,” He said through a sheepish laugh, almost as if he was admitting the knowledge of it against his own will to protect my fragility.
From out of nowhere, there was a small tug on the skirt of my dress. I looked down to find Spencer’s hand there, playing with the fabric until it lay perfectly on my leg.
I coughed to possibly relieve the tension brewing in my loins. “So then you know the Lyrid meteor shower is tonight,” I moved the tiniest bit closer to lean into his touch.
“At exactly 4:33 a.m,” He moved too.
“Is that why you brought me here? To watch the shooting stars? To make a wish?” I thought for a second that I would appear exceedingly childish - more so than I already did being 21 years his junior. But he didn’t judge me at all for the kid-like notion of making a wish on a shooting star or the implication that I still believed in those things.
In fact, I piqued his curiosity, telling by the way he moved only his head to the side to watch my reaction. “Say I did. What would you wish for?”
In the throws of dreamy elation, I softly murmured the only honest answer. “To be older. But not the unfulfilling 9 to 5, loveless marriage, ‘I do my taxes for fun’ older. I want to be old in the ways that the stars and the sky are old. I want to be infinite.”
“...To be infinite.” He whispered my wish back, sounding sort of in awe of me.
Just then, the overhead horizon grew larger. With no buildings or people to block the view, it was just us, the stars, and the sky. I could actually feel that I was lying on a planet. It was so wide. So infinite.
“Can I hold your hand?” I asked softly, in a manner so vulnerable it scared me.
Without any words or hesitation, he put my hand in his.
“The universe seems so big right now. I just needed something to hold onto.” I explained quietly, practically with the hopes that he wouldn’t hear me. But he heard.
“I’m here.”
We didn’t know what was ahead of us then. We were just two people, looking up at the sky on a cold February night. We weren’t divided by power, or age, or space. We were ourselves and no one else.
My eyes fluttered shut again and a smile stretched across my face. “Stargazing was a good idea.”
The world and the sky and the stars and I - we were all infinite. I couldn’t have felt bigger in my own body. In the best way possible, I was taking up so much space. I was occupying the earth. I was made up of matter. I mattered.
Just as I began to open my eyes, I caught a glimpse of a fading shooting star. Though I had wished to be older, I still felt like a child. Then it hit me. I didn’t feel older because I wasn’t older.
I was infinite.
Yes, I was a child, but not in the pinch your cheeks, bottles and pacifiers, babyish way. I was a child in the ‘you have a life full of possibilities ahead of you’ way.
You are young. He tells me with his eyes. And that is a good thing. Be forever young.

With a groan, Rinne drove the van down the sandy road, trying his best not to hit the small child that decided to walk in the middle of the road last second. It was going to be one of these days, wasn’t it?
First, Niki begs him to lunch, it’s the middle of summer and 400 degrees outside, and now she’s proceeded to drag him to the beach so she can ‘eat ice cream on the sand’ or whatever. And here Rinne thought he was the annoying one. She should get her license, it’s bad enough she didn’t graduate high school.
Well, at least she made sure he was well fed and…Well, well-fed.
In the other way.
She was always really forward about that. Or maybe it was him and his sluttiness spilled off onto her.
Yeah, it was probably his fault. He should stop getting stoned with strangers in the living room.
Although Rinne wasn’t like that. Like, aggressive like that.
Neither were any of the men he slept with.
It was scary, almost.
No, it was just scary. She was scary when she got horny.
She always got him so embarrassed, why did she have to take her sweet time with him? Well, it’s not like she could just fuck-and-dump, but still. He always busted it too quickly, far too fast for his liking. Maybe he should go back to just being gay.
Niki thought Rinne looked super sexy today. She supposed he always did, almost to an annoying degree. To the point where men would hit on him in the street and he’d take them home and Niki would be witness to some random dude fucking him on the couch. It was almost never girls for some reason.
Was he gay?
No, she and him fucked all the time, Niki was a girl, that wouldn’t make sense. Rinne was definitely bi, like 100% bisexual.
Ah, he was 100% a bottom, that was all.
Can’t get off without his ass—The absolute whore.
He liked getting called a whore, too, maybe he was also 100% masochist, too. That would make a lot of sense, actually, now that she thought about it some. The way he groaned when she slapped his ass, when she bit his nipple, when she chomped on his neck, nibbled on the tip of his dick—yeah she liked biting him a bit too much.
Well, it was a hot day and it was time for ice cream and sausages on the beach. A nice tan would be cool, too, she was getting a little too pale for her tastes.
He didn’t really ever hit on her, he just kinda let her fuck him. He never got that embarrassed when he was with his male partners. It was like Niki was different to him, somehow. Like he wanted to get teased. Like he was annoyed by it, but secretly, he begged for it.
He always ended up begging for it.
Parking in a non-parking spot, Rinne popped out of the van and opened the side door in the back, grabbing a yellow floatie, a big towel to lie down on, and some sunscreen for good measure.
“Rinne-kun! Did you get the picnic box?” she shouted, running to the back.
“No, because you’d fucking grab it out of my hands, anyways, dick,” he said, sniping back.
Niki held her hand up to punch him in the gut, when she realized.
“Yeah, I would do that,” she said, chuckling out a snort.
Niki climbed around the back of the van, not really caring that her ass was in view for everyone who walked by. Rinne, feeling slightly embarrassed for her, walked in front of the door to block the view.
“What?” she asked.
“I well your, uh,” he said, stumbling. “Your fat ass was falling out of the fucking car!”
She poked a finger out, booping him right in the nose.
“Lmao someone’s embarrassed,” she said, chuckling.
“Oh god, stop using texting lingo in public again,” Rinne said, walking off to the shore, giving up.
“Wait, wait, I know a good spot!” she said, shouting at him.
Niki’s ‘good spot’ was actually a very nice, secluded section of the beach. It took them about ten minutes to find, and they had to climb over a dozen or so rocks, but it ended up giving them some nice shade, and Rinne was never opposed to a good workout.
Rinne spread his arms out to the nice summer wind and took in the world around him, finally allowing the toxic fumes of arrogance and annoyance to leave his body, and breathe in the fresh air of confidence and being a massive dick again.
Niki poked him in the ass.
“Bitch!?” he shouted.
“Are you going to set up the towel or what?” she asked. “I have lunch to eat.”
That’s right, she had carried four lunchboxes over the rocks.
Four. Plus a full tub of Ben and Jerry’s.
“Do I get any this time?” Rinne asked, leaning in. He was a bit hungry, now that he mentioned it.
Niki put a finger to her mouth, the fabric handles of the bags falling down to her elbows.
“Hm,” she said, earnestly considering it. “Maybe if you suck me off.”
“Jesus fuck Niki. You’re horny too?” he said.
She pointed at him, accusatory.
“And you’re not? Who the fuck isn’t horny!?” she shouted.
Rinne sighed and rolled the towel out. He sat down, crossing his legs. He should have invited HiMERU or Eichi or Ibara, or really anyone he could irritate into fucking him. This was wrong, Rinne was supposed to be the tyrannical crazy one, why was Niki walking all over him? It was unacceptable, absolutely unacceptable.
The crashing waves really were relaxing. It was a good thing he had come in his bathing suit.
“Fine,” he said, crawling down on his hands and knees. Niki didn’t seem to hear him, taking a big scoop of sweet chocolate ice cream and dumping the thing directly into her mouth.
His nose pushed into the bottoms of her swimsuit, far too skimpy for any good-natured girl to wear. Tufts of her hair pushed against him, and Rinne wondered why she didn’t shave down there. Whatever, it was just a little hairy and it was about to get a lot wetter.
Niki recoiled in the softness of the towel when she felt shivers ride down her thighs. Rinne flicked his tongue across her clit, stirring up a small sound of approval. He had always been so good at this. Niki wondered if he was just as good at sucking cock. The whole thing felt so relaxing under the heat of the summer sun, she was melting, just absolutely melting.
“Fuck, Niki!” Rinne shouted, jumping up and wiping the glob of ice cream off his back. “Why’d you spill the shit on me?”
“Dunno,” she said, the spoon sticking out of her mouth. She grabbed his head by the puff of his hair and shoved him back into her crotch. “I didn’t tell you to stop. Don’t you want some ice cream?”
“Hanernangh,” was Rinne’s response, his nose suffocating in vaginal secretions.
Leaning back, she squashed Rinne’s head in her thighs, small tufts of red poking out from the little sandwich. Ooh, a sandwich, she should have taken one out of the picnic box, that would have tasted really good right about now.
The wet rubbing felt so good, so good to just squash him right there, struggle around for air, struggle around, knowing that he’d get something out of this, knowing that he’d get rewarded for all his hard work. It god Niki madly turned on knowing that Rinne was getting off to this. Knowing that he liked to get scrunched, to get manhandled.
Niki sat up.
“Hey, Rinne-kun, flip over,” she said.
“Hah? Do I get some now?” he said, snarling. “I wanna get some before you spill it all over me.”
“Turn the fuck over, idiot,” Niki snapped back.
“Fine,” Rinne sputtered out, flipping over to his back.
Niki immediately decided to sit down.
“Hanaefng!?” Rinne shouted, obviously surprised.
“Keep going and you’ll get some ice cream, sheesh,” she said.
Niki began to pat down Rinne’s body, feeling a bit of sand, and a really nice tan beginning to form. And wow, really nice abs, really nice, firm, strong abs. But that wasn’t what she was looking for.
“Aha!” she said, pulling the bottle out of his pocket and slightly raising her ass off his face. “So you did bring lube you fucking whore.”
Rinne took a huge gasp of air, finally able to breathe.
“Jesus fuck, and just what are you going to do with that? It’s not like I can suck you off and fuck you at the same time,” he said, crassly.
Niki, annoyed, sat back down.
“Who said you were going to be the one doing the fucking?” she said, irritated.
Rinne struggled a bit before shuffling his ass out for better access. She had fingered him before, maybe she should invest in a strap-on. Then he wouldn’t have any need to do all of those one-night stands. She could just fuck him on her cock.
“Ooh, someone’s hungry for fingers,” she said, mocking. “Wanna come here for a smoochy-smoochy? I think you deserve it, Rinne-kun!”
Rinne, not being able to speak due to still having pussy in his face, responded with a large groan.
“Or do you prefer these lips?” she asked, rubbing all of her secretions in his face. She wondered how it tasted. Salty, for sure.
Niki leaned forward, taking one last scoop of partially melted ice cream before setting it to the side on the towel. Wow, the heat felt great. The sun, the way the waves lined up, it all just filled her with elation.
So when she leaned her face down to his groin, it made her all the happier to see that Rinne was hard. He liked getting humiliated like this, didn’t he? Wow, what a masochist. When Niki tugged at the hem of his swim trunks, Rinne lifted his hips, allowing her to get them off quicker. Someone was excited. Well, a large glob of lube, a finger made its way to the entrance of his hole. She felt Rinne hesitate on her clit as she pushed in, a loud groan echoing through the rock cliffs.
He was so soft inside. He always was. It was like his ass was made for pleasure, made for this lovely squeeze, caressing her fingers in an absolutely perfect massage. He was always so loose, too, she supposed that’s what being a cock-whore did to someone.
Hm, well, speaking of cock, his dick was right there. He was pretty hard. Would be a shame if someone were to maybe…suck it?
In a moment, her lips were around the tip.
“Haarhrhah! Nik—Niki!” she heard, Rinne tilting his head off her ass.
Retaliating, she sat back down, crushing his head hard into the towel.
God, it was too much at once. With the two fingers pounding his ass, the suffocating aroma on his face, and now the condensing suction on his tip. He was going to cum, he was going to cum—
Niki gripped the bottom of his shaft hard, not letting a drop out.
“You’re supposed to get me off, first, asshole,” she said, her glare enough to kill a man.
Fuck, fuck, thoughts poured through Rinne’s mind as he licked her clit as fast as he could, desperately trying to get her off, trying to get himself off, he was too hard, too overwhelmed.
Rinne felt Niki convulse above him, her hole tightening up, clenching around pure nothing as she came on his face. Noises spewed out of her mouth as she couldn’t control herself, everything coming all at once.
And that’s when Niki finally let go of his dick.
Like the grossest milkshake in the world, Niki kept sucking.
Popping her head off in a moment, she gave off a sigh of relief, as if she had a nice big sip of coffee, drinking all the semen up like a fat noodle.
Niki unplugged her fingers from his ass and Rinne shoved her off, letting her laugh as she rolled off the towel and into the sand.
“That was fun,” she said, still unable to hold her laugh.
“Bitch! You got sand up my ass!” Rinne shouted, making a motion in the air to slap her, obviously missing.
“Your fault for being such an anal fiend,” she said, the heat of the sand proving to be very relaxing. Ooh, she was right next to the lunch box. Time for a sandwich.
“Can I get my ice cream now?” Rinne asked, like a petulant child.
“Yeah, go ahead,” she said, diving right into the lunch box.
Rinne picked up the abandoned tub of Ben & Jerry’s only to realize.
“It’s fucking melted!” Rinne shouted.
“Well, suck faster next time,” Niki said, taking a big bite of her sandwich.
“Well, maybe if someone ate better, her fucking cunt wouldn’t taste like that fucking sourdough starter you keep around the apartment,” Rinne said, snapping.
“Hey, you love my pussy, don’t joke with me,” she said, right back.
Rinne grimaced, embarrassed, knowing she was right.
Pouting, Rinne forced the spoon into the chocolate wonder, scooping it up and landing it right in his mouth. It wasn’t all melted.
Yup, ice cream was good. Ice cream was always good.

Raul Mendes was a pain in the ass. Y/N loves him way too much for her own good, but he was a pain in the nonetheless.
He was the only person she knew who could be in a possible life-or-death situation and still make fun of her through their communicators. And sure, that made the whole thing lighter and less scary, and sure, he was the best agent she’s ever met, but damn did he get on her nerves. And Raul always knew how to get her frustrated or squirming, he enjoyed it more than he was willing to admit. Sure, they’ve been friends for a long time and she should be used to him, but it never got easier. The fact he had a killer smile, the looks of a legit greek god and had this whole tough guy exterior, but secretly had a soft spot for her did not make her case any less complicated.
Y/N and Raul knew each other ever since they’re basically born. Their parents met when they worked together at a company of secret agents, it was only a small corporation back then, and they were known as the best agents at the time. After they retired from field missions and eventually desk jobs, they became only advisers and emergency contacts. But despite that, they kept their friendship going though all the years and that’s how Y/N was introduced to the triplets. They’re always together, doing everything with each other and protecting themselves. And of course she loved Peter and Shawn with her whole heart, they’re like family to her, but Raul was different. Y/N wished it wasn’t, but there are certain things in life you can’t exactly control. Like falling in love with your best friend.
And it’s not like she stood a chance, to be honest. Regardless of his looks, he treated her like she hung the moon and stars on the sky. Sure, he was a tough guy, who rode motorcycles and wore leather jackets, and wouldn’t admit alive that he cried while watching Lion King. But he took care of her when she was upset or having a bad period, he would take her driving around town at midnight on random occasions just because he knew it would make her feel better, and would always be so mindful of everything involving her. And yeah, he teased her endlessly, but it was part of it and in reality, Y/N didn’t mind it that much.
So when they started growing older and decided to follow their parents career, it only made sense they trained their asses off and got the job together. The company their parents worked for grew a lot, a team that was originally formed by 15 agents turned into a massive business, with over 100 employees, doing various functions. Shawn was picked for a more diplomatic field, always in meetings with important people and traveling around the world. Peter became a tech engineer, developing the coolest gadgets and weapons imaginable, something out of Totally Spies! Raul was clearly a field agent, an expert on body combat and weapons, best out of the four when it came to their physical test. And Y/N was the one who guided the operations, the hacker and responsible for strategies, also for the tech part and best sniper out of the three of them.
That made her and Raul an unbeatable team and the best duo ever. Their chemistry on the field was recognized by their bosses on the first week, basically glueing them together for every future mission and it worked. For the company. But it only dug her little crush deeper on Y/N’s heart. And obviously no one knew it. She was a spy for fucks sake, she knew how to lie and she wasn’t going to be the one to tell him. Raul didn’t date, working on this field made everyone’s love life a bit harder than it was already, and he never seemed interested enough in anyone with the same career to have a long lasting relationship with. That didn’t mean there where a lot of people interested, which made Y/N’s heart twist in her chest.
“Sweetheart, you still with me?” Raul’s voice came through her earpiece bringing her back to reality.
“Of course I am, you idiot, I take this job really seriously” Y/N replied rolling her eyes as if she didn’t just daydreamed a bit.
“Oh sorry, doll, didn’t mean to insult you hard working” he chuckled “but could you please check in the corridor number 6, half the team is heading down there right now”
“Sure” she quickly typed on her computer changing cameras really quickly, perks of being Peter’s best friend is that she could usually take extra stuff and the newest gadgets on the market “It’s clear and, by the way, you look pathetic with this glasses”
Raul laughed clearly amused, throwing his middle finger up in the air in the direction of the security camera he found “Oh really? Tell that to Peter, he’s the one who created them”
“Technically their still a prototype, so make sure to let him know”
Raul scoffed playfully as he climbed another set of stairs, the man and woman with him following without questioning, used to his ways of leading “Of course, I’m sure he’ll like to hear your fashion critiques to his million dollar glasses”
“I’ll write it down, now careful, you’re approaching the level where they’re at”
“Sure, mom, I’m always careful” he said in a hushed tone signaling to his teammates to keep quiet and try to find the possible security team they left to watch the hostage.
“Shut up” Y/N said trying to hold back the smile from stretching her lips, already letting the airway team know to be ready to pick them up as they approached their target.
They’re currently in the middle of a mission where they needed to recover another agent who got caught up in an ambush two weeks ago, and now they’re being kept as a hostage. Raul’s leading a team to retrieve the agent as quickly and as silently as they could, two with him and three other on the opposite side to meet halfway. All that while Y/N’s on the under construction building across the street seated among her gear, gun in hand following their every step and guiding them through the camera system and the big windows that other building had. It’s not the worst mission they’ve ever been, no apparent violence or blood bath, just a simple rescue mission, but they still felt a little jittery and always worried about each other’s lives. And through the years, they noticed that their copying mechanism to make this less stressful (at least a tiny bit) was through light banter and jokes. That somehow brought a bit of normality to their very non ordinary job.
Y/N did her best to keep them hidden while they crashed into the building as quietly as possible, trying go unnoticeable since they didn’t have enough munition or people on the tactic team. It would also prevent them from moving the target around or opening fire. And despite the fact Raul kept on trying to joke around and that she’s been doing this for at least four years, the fact that they’re working with a less experienced and fresh out of the academy crew made her a little jittery. Not that she didn’t trust Raul to command everything and boss everyone around if things got messy, she just didn’t want him to get in the middle of a crossfire again.
He had the terrible habit of playing the hero in the most inconvenient times, like when they were little and a guy twice his size, with three friends mocked her pigtails. He didn’t stand a chance, but he went after them anyway. They ended up having to run as fast as they could so they wouldn’t end up with a black eye or something. And that was nothing compared to the stupid shit he could do on field. And Y/N couldn’t be more pissed whenever he came home with more bruises then he should just to play Superman or something. Sure, that was admirable and the fact that he put everyone on his team on his top priority was definitely something fantastic for a captain, but not for Y/N’s heart.
And for that reason, she was always extra careful, but when he had a newbie joining him on the field, Y/N tripled the attention to avoid putting the kid in danger, and, consequently her best friend.
Raul was quick to take down two man on their level without raising much alarm, grabbing their munition, dragging the unconscious bodies away from where they’d be easily seen and moving forward to another set of stairs. He was a very skillful agent, with great physical development and worked great under pressure, with quick thinking and a natural leader. So it didn’t shock her when he was able to do that as if it was the most natural thing in the planet. While Raul was more of a passionate person, Y/N was more rational, was analyzing every possibility and coming up with creative solution, she was also really cold on work (she just had one exception) and was a quick thinker, great person to rely on. It’s almost as if the complimented each other and that’s why it worked. That’s why when she tells him to shoot, he does without thinking, or to jump, he wouldn’t blink before doing it head first.
And that’s why they’re able to reach the hostage without much trouble.
“Told you to chill out, I knew we could make it” he murmured through their coms and she giggled, shaking her head incredulously.
“You should watch the entrances while your teammates take care of the hostage”
“That’s why I have you, sweetheart” he said with his infamous smirk stretching his annoyingly pink lips.
Y/N shook her head when she felt her face warming up a bit, stupid boy “Well, actually I’m pretty busy calling for our ride, so watch your own back this time, you’re a big boy, I’m sure you can do it”
Raul scoffed but did as she say either way “fine, are we clear?”
“On your floor yes, climb three more levels and meet me on this side of the street, don’t stall champ, they’re going to notice there’s something wrong with the cameras and their man who aren’t responding, so be quick”
Raul chuckled as he helped balance the hostage on Roman’s arms and signaling them to climb the stairs again “Yes, ma’am, anything to keep you from frowning and scolding my ass”
Y/N rolled her eyes smiling, sighing in relief that half of their mission was done and it went as smoothly as it could have been “Great, now get your ass out of there now, Raul”
The tactic team started moving to the floor they’d have access to jump, and everything was going too smoothly to be true, not even a minor inconvenience. And that was not normal, at all. That’s when Y/N started getting worried.
Everything was great until Seth, from loosing a lot of blood and being severely dehydrated, started loosing his conscious, making Roman’s job a lot more complicated and making everyone move slower. And while that was happening, Y/N saw when one of the guys saw his partners laying limply on the corner of a hallway and finally the pieces clicked. Luckily she was able to caught it quickly enough to be able to mess up their coms, so instead of a dozen men, they’d have to deal with two. She was also quick to let Raul know, so he jumped into action, telling everyone to rush and grabbing Seth’s right side, basically carrying him alongside Roman up the stairwell.
But as they’re almost reaching the door, Raul heard footsteps rather close, rushing Roman up the rest of the way, warning he’d be right behind him, that he was only to be a bit far back so he could hold whoever was coming.
He ran downstairs, quickly blocking the door to the staircase with a fire extinguisher, running all the way upstairs to reach his teammates and jump to go home. But as he had just reached the door, his colleagues waiting for him with their gear (and also his) ready to cross to the other building, he felt the barrel of a gun touching the back of his head. Raul raised his hands in surrender, his teammates staring at him with horror in their eyes as they aimed their guns to whoever was behind him, but he knew they couldn’t do much before he got shot. He also knew they’re too young, apart from Roman and Cara, who were both holding Seth up, they weren’t experienced enough to do something like that. But before the person could pull the trigger, they grunted in pain and Raul felt the barrel slipping away.
He turned around to watch the guy on his back in the floor, clutching to his left ribs, a little pool of blood already forming underneath him and gun long forgotten. Raul looked around to see if it was anyone from this guy’s side or anyone on the stairs, only to be met with silence and a single security camera with the green dot on, meaning Y/N was still in their system. He shook his head in disbelief, dragging the whining man outside of the room, quacking his gun down the stairs and managing to lock the door so they could escape safely.
“Still with me, baby?” Y/N’s voice teased mimicking the way he said it earlier.
Raul shook his head with a smirk on his lips, before moving to where his teammates stood still a bit shocked with all that happened in front of them “Wouldn’t dream of leaving you, sweetheart”
“Alright boys, the helicopters are coming for us, meet you all on the roof in three” Y/N said through the coms for the whole team, quickly shifting to a line only the captain, Raul, could hear “and if you dare be late just to make a big entrance or another dramatic scheme you can think about, I swear to God I’ll leave you behind”
“You wouldn’t dare”
“Try me” Y/N sing sang picking up her stuff and quickly shoving them down in her backpack, gathering the rest in her hands before turning around to climb to the rooftop.
As she climbed the last set of stairs, Y/N saw their helicopters approaching as the seven agents she was waiting for used a special gun to shoot a line to her building, before locking them in place before zip-lining their way to meet her. She helped Seth, the agent that was kept hostage climb up the little wall since he was in a pretty bad shape, throwing his arm across her shoulders and basically dragging him to where they thrown the stair to climb up to the helicopter with the medical team waiting for him. Cara and Roman climbed first since they’re going to report what they saw and assist Seth as best as they could. Roman grabbed him and the rope stair, shouting to pull them up so he could be taken care of.
Raul was the last one to arrive, as always staying behind to insure everyone got there safely and no one would try to kill them or anything. He graciously climbed the all as if it was nothing, pulling the gun from the string and cutting it so no one could follow them up there that quickly. Raul told everyone to climb onto the helicopter and they’re quick to follow his order, only one person stubbornly waiting for him, as always. He held back the relieved smile from stretching across his features, noticing how warm and relaxed he felt only by seeing Y/N standing besides the hope ladder. She looked worried, a frown on her beautiful face and Raul wanted to smooth his fingers over it as if it would ease all of her troubles away.
She nodded as soon as he was close enough, Raul being quick to pick up the heavy backpack she was carrying and leaving the rest to her “Are you okay?”
“What? Of course, Why do you ask?” he knew why she was asking, hell, his heartbeat was still a bit too fast to be normal, and yeah, partially was because he was standing in front of Y/N, but on the other hand he almost got killed. She only arched her brow at him and he sighed in defeat “Of course I am, doll, you know me, I’m always okay”
“That’s what’s scares me the most” she said with a sad chuckle and started climbing the rope ladder to the helicopter and Raul was quick to follow behind.
“Dude, that was insane, I can’t believe you didn’t miss or accidentally shot Raul from across the street!” the youngest guy from the mission shouted as soon as they reached them on the vehicle, Raul closing the door behind them.
Y/N only giggled in response “yeah, a bit crazy, isn’t it?”
“That’s because she’s the best, Tommy, but she won’t believe it” Raul said as he sat on one of the vacant seats, waiting for her to join him.
“Oh shut it” she said unable to stop the smile from forming.
They kept on talking about the mission for a while, Tommy and the other two kids who recently joined still high from the adrenaline, but Y/N couldn’t be more worn out and Raul was quick to catch it. He leaned closer to her and she automatically laid her head on his shoulder, a movement that was almost mechanic to both of them. He gently grabbed her hand that was placed on her knee and interlaced their fingers together, letting her play with his hand to pass the time.
Y/N sighed and mumbled after a while, when most of the kids were too distracted to pay attention “Are you really okay? Don’t say that you’re always fine, I mean it”
Raul had mastered the art of the poker face. He could easily be having the worst time of his life, but he would never let it showcase always with a quick sarcastic remark and an easy smirk on his lips, ready to flirt with anyone to distract them from the real problem. Raul was not the best when dealing with feelings and emotions, always thought it was easier to push them away, but Y/N saw right through him. She always did, ever since they were little. After that, he never tried to hide it again from her, always being as honest as he could with her about how he was, and obviously it didn’t always work, but she understood and respected it. It’s not like he needed to say anything for her to know.
But at the same time, she didn’t know that he would always be fine, as long as she was safe and right next to him, the rest didn’t matter.
“I promise you I’m fine, you saved my beautiful ass and we’re going home, I’d say we’re fantastic” he said after a while, pressing a long kiss to the back of their laced hands.
That seemed to be enough to convince Y/N, since she huffed through her nose and let out a tiny giggle, before leaning closer to him and Raul took it as a sign to drape his arm over her shoulder pulling her closer to his chest “your beautiful ass is really annoying, you know that, right?”
“Oh, I do, but you love it anyway” he said with a giggle, pressing a kiss to the crown of her head, as she just showed him her middle finger, making him laugh even more.
Yeah, he was definitely fine. For now.

So like everyone knows he loves cats right???
All of UA knows too
“Hola cat boy! Can you do me a favor???”
You walk up to him in a cat costume
Not one of the skimpy ones
Sadly
Like a full on cat in the hat onesie type deal
“I didn’t know cat in the hat went to UA?”
“I heard ya like cats, and I need you, so I am a cat
I am now irresistible you have to do as I say”
“You would have had better luck if you wore a skimpy cat costume but I’ll hear you out. What do ya want?”
“Okay right so this dickwad decided “yo let’s take panty shots of random girls”
and I’m one of them
and like he took the picture with one of my comfty panties
so the picture isn’t even cute
and I want it back but he won’t give it to me
so like can you do your whole Jedi mind trick and get me the photo back???”
“Lmao,,, what???”
“Wat???”
“So you get sexually harassed and you’re more upset by the fact that you weren’t wearing cute panties???”
“When you put it like that it sounds bad”
“That’s because it is bad”
“Oh yeah now that you put it like that it is bad. Can you fuck up his shit too???”
Mans beats the fucker up black and blue, shreds all the photos, destroys the camera, memory stick thingy, deletes all gmail account data then the account, destroys laptop, computer, hard drives, phones, 3DS, etc. etc. thoroughly
“Wow when you smashed his 3DS in his balls that was very hot”
Make out session over a half dead body: check 💯✅
“And that was how I prevented a man from having kids”🥰
“God you’re so hot, I could fu-“
“Y/n. We are literally in public with all of our friends. Stop being horny”
“I can’t help it you’re so hot yummy yummy man🤩”

❝ i doubt i’ll sleep much tonight. that’s okay. i just feel like looking at the stars for a while. ❞
❝ it's probably for the best. i am simultaneously exhausted from the drive and absolutely wired from the coffee. ❞
❝ i wonder if there will still be ghosts out there when that happens? when the earth is gone? ❞
❝ glad to hear you’re enjoying yourself, then. ❞
❝ knowing doesn’t make things any easier, but it does make them a little less frightening. ❞

❝ the fire that i said went out? yeah, it just started burning again. ❞
❝ so i asked him to lie. ❞
❝ it'd really be just a few of us. maybe me and [name] and one or two other tagalongs… ❞
❝ apparently, the press had a lot of questions too. ❞
❝ i’ve driven more than 8 hours and drunk enough bad coffee to give an elephant heart palpitations. i’m sure as hell going to get my money’s worth. ❞
❝ oh sorry, am i bothering you now? what happened to ‘ call anytime you want, [name] ’ or, ‘ you’re always welcome here, [name] ’ ? ❞
❝ i’ve forgotten to charge my phone. again. ❞
❝ i… think i’m going to turn around now. ❞
❝ well sorry if i wanted to have a nice talk with my sister for a change. ❞
❝ will it just be left there forever? our legacy? look upon our works, ye mighty, and despair? ❞
❝ no matter how far away from home you are, no matter how different the constellations might look from where you’re standing, you can always look up on a clear, dark night and feel like you’re about to fall right into it—the terrifying, endless expanse of nothingness. ❞

❝ why do you always think there’s something wrong? ❞
❝ ours is not to question why, ours is but to digitize and stay the hell out of trouble. ❞
❝ so let’s try walking backwards. just keep an eye on it. ❞
❝ i got lucky. or maybe i was just fast enough to escape. ❞
❝ maybe there are secret passages behind the walls and corridors. ❞
❝ no matter how far i walked, i couldn’t find the way i came in. ❞

❝ i mean, obviously, i do care, that’s the whole reason i made this trip. to get away from the noise and focus. ❞
❝ i might have… forgotten to tell anyone where i was going. ❞
❝ before i get started, there’s just one thing i need to say. i have absolutely no patience for the unexplained, or the things people call ‘ unexplainable ’, ‘ supernatural ’, or ‘ paranormal ’. ❞

❝ it hated me: hated what i do, and more than that, hated who i am. ❞
❝ lots of tall tales. and more than a few ghost stories. ❞
❝ oh good, you’re still here! ❞
❝ reviewers absolutely grilled it: said it was a nonsensical rip off of the dark tower, whatever that means. ❞
❝ i jumped out the window. cut my hands on the glass, but thankfully not bad enough to need stitches ❞
❝ i told her, tonight. ❞
❝ for a minute, i wondered if that would really be so bad. it was a fitting way to go, given my… well, everything. ❞
❝ i suppose that’s a universal constant—maybe the only one. ❞
❝ i never let myself get this turned around. especially not at night. ❞
❝ i don’t know if it’s actually haunted. but if not, then it was sure as hell convincing. ❞
❝ i’m not one of those people who thinks she’s the spawn of satan or something ridiculous like that. ❞
❝ unless i’m prepared to accept that she was murdered by something that crawled out of a funhouse mirror, this isn’t much help with the case, either. ❞
❝ i have to try and work some actual cases the rest of the time. you know, cases that might have some answers i can find. ❞
❝ it's cold, damp, and dark as night. i'm in my element, at least. ❞
❝ your place is waiting for you. ❞
❝ yeah, i’m all good. great… hanging in there, you know? one day at a time. ❞
❝ oh, i see you. you think i’m still scared of [thing], huh? think you can freak me out? ❞
❝ trust me, i’ve had a hell of a day, and you do not want to mess with a pissed off… ❞
❝ and tell my sister i'm sorry. ❞
❝ oh god, it's cold. ❞
❝ the night sky really is beautiful out here. ❞
❝ tell him he shouldn’t have been such a good liar. ❞
❝ i’ve been listening to this for the last two weeks now. ❞
❝ it’s not even that i’m having bad ideas. i’m not having any at all. ❞
❝ can’t get away from the work, no matter what i do. ❞
❝ i made sure i switched off my phone before i came up here, just in case. ❞

S5 Ep 15 Pt 1: The Gang Gets Lost in India
Ah, back to Yugioh classic. Sort of. We’re going into the second filler arc before Bakura, which I have been told is kind of nonsense. And youknow what, from the first scene--this is the first scene by the way--yeah I can see the nonsense.
We got Yami cosplaying as the Chrysler building, we got Yugi saying WTFWTF, we got...this thing?
This thing tells us “Join my game, Yugi!” and then the demon just kinda bounces.
K, bye, I guess.
(read more under the cut)
Waking up from this nightmare, Yugi reveals that he has outgrown his good pajamas. Or maybe he just overused them like I did to my favorite pajamas during quarantine (which, not gonna lie, I hand sewed my favorite pajama pants back together 2 or 3 times like they were the Velveteen Rabbit. Quarantine pajamas and me were like best buds for a year there.)
RIP Yugi’s good pajamas.
It’s fine. I’m fine.
I can get used to Yugi in his normal ass old man pajamas without any cute stars on them. I can accept this. He’s getting older. So much older that for a second I thought he was learning Hebrew, by the looks of his books on his counter. I thought...wow, is Yugi actually attempting to learn a language spoken around the time of ancient Egyptians???
But uh...I went a searching and unfortunately that’s not Hebrew, and if that is a language, I don’t know what it is. Pretty sure it’s just random marks because this show has to be translated in so many languages. Man. For a second there that looked like really sneaky world building, but nah, Yugi is still kind of a dumbass who has yet to attend a solid year of school.
Also, I got to take in this mustard yellow as if I’ve seen it for the first time.
It has strong building blocks energy. It’s...so much yellow and it’s extremely the vibe of that one set of animal crossing decorations that I have because it’s a very common recipe, but, can’t figure out for the life of me how to fit into any room.
What am I supposed to do with these, Nintendo? Other than recreate Yugi’s Muto’s haunted game store/house?
Like I live in the Bay area and we have wild painted houses so you can see them through the fog (back when we...still had fog, RIP California) --but this is a little much. This is such strong Protagonist energy but as a house.
Also, I’ve don’t think I’ve brought this up before, but like...Yugi is loaded, right? Like he’s way too good and humble to ever say he’s loaded, and they sort of make it seem like he’s not (when compared to Seto Kaiba) but damn, this location of his real estate sure is something. That and Grandpa’s tiny shop seems to run on a constant deficit and his family just doesn’t care.
We flash back a bit to Gramps sneaking out, and Yugi is like “oh great, my only Father figure I ever talk about is getting a backpack together and just...leaving without any notice, huh? Without telling me you were going to go? Didn’t think that would maybe be a little off putting?“ and Gramps is like “Yes?”
Like Gramps nearly died going to an amusement park a few episodes back so I can see why Yugi is a little bit concerned.
Down the street at a little town lottery, Joey is getting further into gambling (I don’t know what those little street lotteries are called, it’s in a lot of anime--but kinda looks like mom lotteries for moms.)
I’m not sure why India is on Joey Wheeler’s bucket list, seems a little random, but he went to Pegasus’ country, after all and that’s barely even a country.
Joey going nuts on a lottery machine instead of going to school was pretty peak filler, so I’m not really minding this stuff so far.
And then, just to spook me, check this out:
I can’t believe they even let them back into a classroom. In my nerd school, if you missed one too many days, you were sent to the bad schools to be someone else’s problem. But in Yugi’s case...that either IS his school or...Yugi is failing International School, which is just a thing he’s allowed to do, because, as I said before, this kid has got to be loaded. Even Seto Kaiba was like “I’m not spending money on this school anymore. That outfit is like 50 bucks a jacket.”
Youknow, I have seen all the other characters knock on Tea’s choice of cute ass monsters for the last 5 seasons, and she has never once changed them out. She is holding onto this scary seraphim thing with the many wings like every child with their first Pidgey. She does not care.
Also how is this thing cute?
like the front of this orb has a face with hearts on it but like...it is kind of remarkable what Yugioh decides is cute. Magma golem: not cute. this thing? This thing that looks like it’s a chibi version of the last chapters of the bible and will sound the trumpets of the second coming? So cuuuuute.
Tristan used to be the Janitor/hall monitor/square archetype. Like hell he can walk around with that 00′s R+B soundtrack.
Joey appears in order to get us the hell out of school, and the art team retires this school background for the rest of what I assume is this entire series.
Goodbye school. Maybe you’ll come back with Bakura. Which would be weird, since rumor is that arc takes place in ancient Egypt.
On their walk home, Tea lets out in an inner monologue that no one could hear that after 5 straight seasons of his BS, she’s sick and tired of Pharaoh being the center of attention all the time and she needs a freakin break.
TBH, as she was thinking in her head like “Pharoah is just so freakin much” Yugi switched over to Pharaoh and was like “WHATS UP TEA, THINKING ABOUT ME??” and I thought for a split second maybe he read her mind with his Pharaoh powers.
And like...maybe he did? Seems like a thing he can just do but chooses not to tell anyone about. I mean would you tell anyone? I wouldn’t.
So, unlike Miho in Season Zero, who at least had the decency to try to take her Mother to Australia, Joey Wheeler has wisely decided that the 3 other ticket holders will not be the 3 other members of his immediate family. That would have been the most awkward trip between Serenity, his mother he hasn’t really spoken to in 7 years, and his absent father who was written out of the series for being a raging alcoholic. They would have not even made it to the plane.
Instead he’s gonna take the ghost in Yugi’s head and call that an adult (two tickets in one, really). It’s honestly not that bad of a plan, since his only other father figure, Grandpa, is MIA, and his only other, other father figure, Roland, charges like 300 dollars an hour and wants stock options and health insurance.
And honestly they should have taken Roland because he’s one of their best plane guys.
So they take the smallest little Amelia Earheart plane in the world, going from Japan to (checks map) India...which 2 times the distance this plane can go and it crashes...which is exactly what would happen if you took a teeny tiny plane over the Himalayan mountains without refueling that thing.
We call this a magical incident later in the episode, but this is just basic math.
So, fun fact, (and probably why I discuss planes so often on this blog) two of my Grandfathers were pilots (well, three, since my grandmother remarried another pilot), which sounds like a crazy coincidence until you recall that their generation was in WW2 and we just shoved children in planes for 20 years and called that normal.
Anyway, to save on travel costs, my engineer Grandfather built his own plane out of junkyard parts, which, as you can imagine, is a living nightmare, and it was held together by like duct tape and gasoline (which at one time used to be cheap). Tempted God every day that Howls Moving Castle touched the sky.
And while I only know it from photos since I wasn’t exactly born yet, it looked exactly like this plane. So looking at this, all I can think is...yeah...that’s what you get for flying to India in a tin can car. To this day I cannot trust any plane of this size.
So, they climb out of their wreckage virtually unscathed and into familiar Californian territory.
At least Joey thought about bringing a tent.
It’s interesting how our cast has become so accustomed to this that they’re not even all that shell shocked. It’s just another day in the life.
So next time we shall find out what India has in store for us. Or if we’re even in India...because again...feels a lot like this BG team doesn’t do any research into their landscapes and every place feels a whole lot of the same. But...at least they didn’t put any Arizonan mesas in India.

Splendor and True
You know what it do 😩👌
“So,” Offender began. “Splendor, huh?”
True sighed. It had been a decent night, and now he wanted to grill her for the juicy stuff. It was supposed to just be movies, snacks and a sleep over at his. She didn’t know what she was expecting, honestly. The man was worse than middle school gossip, he wanted to know everything and he always had a way of finding out. It didn’t help that he could read her mind on occasion either.
“Okay, I get it. You don’t want to talk about it, but I think if anyone could help you, it would be me. Us being the same species and you not knowing much about our courting or the like.” He nudged her side gently, trying to coax her into admitting it.
She rolled her eyes, smiling up at him gently in amusement. Nudging him right back. “Don’t lie to me like that, you’re just nosey.”
He rolled his eyes, in his own way. So much like the way she did, but he didn’t have the organs to show for it. Always something interesting to notice with these men. “Okay, yeah. I want the hot, juicy details about my newest little pals not so little crush. Can you blame me? It’s not too often I get to be involved in a situation like this.”
Wearily watching him smile down at her, she felt rather targeted. “I... well. Fine. I do like him.”
He hardly got any time to have a victory moment at hearing he was right as she began spiraling on. “I like him very much but I can’t tell him because oh my god what if he doesn’t like me and he just tolerates my existence in his home until he can help me figure some stuff out and then he’ll send me on my way to do who knows what because he probably just plans to ship me off to my ancestor when we find him and its not that I’m not open to getting to know them when I find them, but I sure would like to stay with him and-“
She silenced when he placed his large hand on top of her head. “Hey. It’s not like that. I wouldn’t tell you to go after him unless I thought he liked you too. I mean, I like to play but that would be kind of cruel.”
She sighed, nodding as she plopped down onto the couch they were sitting on. She had to hand it to them, wherever these guys got their furniture from, it was always comfortable despite it being larger than what she was used to. Her human proportions making her feel like a child when sitting in any of their homes unless she traveled into proxy dwellings, more human sized accommodations always in those portions. “Yeah, okay... I just. Well, it’s like you said. I don’t understand the courting stuff. I’m afraid he doesn’t like me like that, I mean honestly, why would he want me? I may not be entirely human, but thats what I was raised as. I’m weird and I don’t conform to your norms and ideals. He has standing and a reputation, I offer him nothing that would better that.”
“That’s not what he cares about.” True looked over at him, watching as he shook his head and waved off her apparently ridiculous worries.
“Oh yeah?” She huffed, slightly miffed that he continued to brush off her worries without actually explaining why. “What gives you that idea?”
He appeared to think for a bit, over exaggerating by crossing his arms and humming in thought. She knew he was about to do something she would regret allowing, but he moved on before she could stop it. “Oh, you know, probably has something to do with the fact that he’s said things about you to me already.”
Her head shot up, looking at him incredulously. “He talks about me? Well, I mean I guess he would. I am living in his home.”
Tutting at her, he waggled his finger and smirked in her direction. “No, no. You don’t understand. He talks about you a lot. Oh, how did he word that one thing he said the other day? I think it went something like... ‘Oh! True is just so wonderful! Amazing! I don’t know how I got so lucky, finding her first.’”
She stared at him, frozen in astonishment at what he was doing. His voice had pitched upward, the gravel gone from his deep voice as he mocked the way Splendor’s tenor would sound. “Are you being serious right now?”
“Why ever would I kid about this!?” His hand flew to his chest, acting offended that she would accuse him of such behavior. “I am simply telling you of the time he said things such as ‘I just think she’s very cute, with her glasses and such pretty hair.’”
His voice pitched upward again, mocking Splendor again as his hands interlaced and he held them up to his face like the love sick saps in old cartoons, making her jump to Splendors defense. “Shut up, he doesn’t sound like that!”
He laughed, dismissing her rebuttal gently with a wave of his hand. “Oh yeah? Then what does he sound like, huh?”
“His voice is nice! It’s light and it almost always sounds so happy. Sometimes it makes me smile to hear it, even if it’s not me he’s talking to. And he calls me little nicknames sometimes, which is the only reason I gave him a nickname too, not that he knows that. He’s soft and careful and kind. He’s very patient with me, and it’s not just me either, he’s patient with his proxies too. And when he laughs, oh it’s wonderful, I work so hard to hear him laugh, to get him laughing because of me. And… well, his eyes are pretty. I know, they don’t have any color, but the way his eyes are is kind of like... if I look in them just right, then its like stars in a sky of darkness. I’ve only seen his hands maybe once or twice, and I think he probably hides them because of how scary he thinks they are, but I think they’re wonderful. Holdable. Kissable. They’re very pretty, and I can only assume the color tapers off, which must be wonderful to look at. I hope to one day get a chance to look at it myself. And I really like-“Her eyes widened as she slapped her hand over her mouth, whipping her gaze toward Offender who was looking down at her with a cocky grin.
“Got ya to talk, did I?” He chuckled at her. Patting her head as she processed her little splurge of simpery for Splendor. “You might as well keep going, little buddy. Better yet, write him a letter.”
She exhales heavily, crossing her arms and turning her head away from him. “Not that its any of your damn business, but I actually have. He will never, ever see them though. End of discussion. And now that I’ve divulged my feelings for Splendor at your demand, can we please watch the movie?”
The silence that followed was telling. He wasn’t done. No where close to it, in fact. She fought herself to keep her eyes locked to the screen, watching as a guy on screen jumped off of a cliff and into an ocean. She wasn’t sure where the movie was shot, but the waters were very pretty as they crashed against the rock face. Of course, the scene didn’t last very long, leaving her confused about the fate of the man. Though it seemed she wouldn’t find out what happened at all. No sooner than she had let her guard down had Fen appeared in front of the tv with some papers in his hands, making her jump at his sudden appearance, as she thought he hadn’t moved from his spot on the couch.
“Must you always pop in and out like that? By the way, you make a horrible window. We’re supposed to be watching a movie, remember?” She rolled her eyes before eyeing him closely. Taking a look at the papers in his hands, her eyes popped open wide in recognition. “No.”
His smile was answer enough, but he gave one anyway. “Oh, yes. They were quite easy to find actually.”
Shooting up off the couch, she tried to snatch the papers out of his hands before he could hold them any higher, but it was a losing battle as always with most enderbeings. Hopelessly tall while she was hopelessly short.
“Come on, please? You don’t need to read those, I promise they’re no good. Just the rambling of me at three am every day.” She poked and prodded at him desperately as she begged him to give her the papers back. She didn’t know how he had found them so easily, or even how he teleported to her room without alerting anyone to his presence, but she knew those were the letters to Splendor.
He remained silent as he seemed to skim over three of the letters. He took his sweet time, nudging her away with his leg if she managed to distract him too much, but he never looked away from the papers. She was thankful he wasn’t doing a live reading of it while mocking her voice, but this was still embarrassing regardless.
Finishing up the last letter, he merely folded it back into thirds and slotted it back into its envelope and handing her the whole stack with a large grin on his face. “Now that is what I’m talking about. You should just hand those to him, and while I admit staying still would be the most courageous and correct thing to do, you could always just toss them at him and run. Gets the confession out of the way.”
Indignant and fuming, she hugged the letters to her chest and glared up at Fen. “But I don’t know how he’ll take it. I mean… are the letters really okay? Could I really just give him these and expect it to be okay? What if-“
She gets cut off as he groans, dragging a hand down his face in obvious exasperation. “Honestly, you two are just insufferable. I can’t stand this for much longer. Look okay, if you don’t confess then I’ll act as your little birdy and let a certain someone know that a special someone loves them very much.”
The idea was terrifying, and as serious as he looked, she wanted to think he was joking. “He has no reason to like me. He’s so much older than me, not to mention more capable of things as well. I’m…. very human. I’m weak compared to all of you, and I mean… reading intent means nothing if I cant do anything about what they intend to do. I can’t just walk up to him and think a confession will go over well. I have no reason to think he could like me.”
She jolts when he flicks her forehead. Its nowhere near as hard as it could have been, but she yelps and covers the spot with her hand. She startles when he kneels down to her height suddenly and grabs her shoulder. “I don’t know how many times I’m gonna have to fucking say this True, but he doesn’t care about that shit. Never has. All of this,” he shakes the letters in his free hand. “You don’t need to say any of this. I know you think words are scary, so let me help you, okay?”
She took a moment to glance at the letters that would never be delivered. The pretty paper she had written them on bright and colorful and unavoidable. She should have just written them on white paper, then he likely wouldn’t have found them as quickly, if at all. “As long as you’re telling the truth, then I guess I’ll listen.”
He muttered what sounded like praises to the ceiling above him as he stood and led her back to the couch. “Good, now all you have to do is a few simple things, and I promise you’ll make him the happiest man alive.”
————————————
It was now a week later, and she found herself sitting on Splendor’s couch as he started up a movie. Movie nights happened once or twice a month, Splendor’s candy business getting rather time consuming lately, with paperwork and other things she really didn’t understand.
She hadn’t been taught much about his business, but she knew he was very successful and she really liked his products. He had gifted her test products before and had let her sample things before they went out. After having dragged her birthday out of her, he had even gifted her a basket of stuff that she had yet to get through even though it had been quite a while since her birthday.
“You haven’t seen this one before I think. It’s a bit old, in terms of what I’m sure you’re used to watching, but it’s in color.” He laughed as he sat next to her. Getting comfortable in the blankets that were piled around the two of them.
“I’m sure it’ll be fine.” She watched him nuzzle into the blankets before he handed her the bucket of popcorn to hold. She stuttered over herself as she remembered what she needed to do now that they were here. “Besides… I’m with you, right? Can’t be too bad if you picked it out.”
He took her statement at face value it seemed, and softly hummed before patting her head and hitting play on the remote. For a moment she thought maybe Fen really was wrong and Splendor didn’t like her that way. But just as she was about to zone out while staring at the screen to remove herself into her thoughts, she felt something wrap around her under the blankets.
She stayed still as it did, knowing it was one of his tendrils. She took a minute to enjoy it, waiting for the movie to become a little interesting before leaning against his side. She fought to stay casual when she felt eyes on her, not wanting to appear tense. Next would come the hardest part, but she supposed it was only difficult because she understood the meaning behind such a gesture now.
We she felt him relax again, and she was sure he was watching the movie instead of her, she moved one of her hands through the blankets in search of his tendril. Finding it had somehow wrapped around her under all the blankets and had managed to stay outside of her shirt. Regardless of his mastery with the appendage, she set her mind back on track as she lightly grazed her fingertips over it while in search of the tip.
She found the bell with little trouble and grabbed just under it before bringing it up through the blankets and toward her face. She didn’t dare look up at him, she already knew he was watching her. Fighting through the blush rising on her face and the butterflies tearing through her body that made her jittery and nervous, she brought the bell up for a little smooch.
The near moment her lips disconnected from the bell, she felt herself get pushed gently against the back of the couch and he suddenly had a soft grip on her chin, tilting her head back to make her look up at him. His cheeks were more flushed than normal, his eyes locked on hers as he stared her down while seemingly taking a moment to think on what to say. “Do you mean it?”
Did she mean it? She doesn’t understand how she couldn’t. It would be hard for that to be a mistake, and honestly if it hadn’t of been for Fen’s help then she wouldn’t have even known to do it. “Yes.”
She yelped suddenly when she found herself pulled onto his lap. Blankets tangled around her body acting as annoyances when she discovered she was practically bound by them. Regardless, she couldn’t get away if she wanted to. The tendril wrapped around her ensured that.
“If you’re sure you know what it means.” His face hovered closer to hers, his eyes searching her face for any doubts.
“Yes. I… liked you for a while now. I accept.” Her hands found a comfortable resting spot as her arms rested over his shoulders, only bringing them closer.
Silence ruled for a moment before she felt a hand tangle in her hair. The distance closed rather quickly, despite the softness on the kiss. It was a gentle, loving and warm kiss. Conveying finally being able to do what he had been longing to do for a while.
She was struck stupid when they finally parted, gently panting to catch her breath as her glassy eyes met his again. Letting out a muffled noise of surprise, she barely had time to catch her breath at all before he went in for another kiss. This one a little more desperate than the last. His tongue teasing along her lips until she allowed him to deepen it in her shock.
Shaking and desperate for oxygen, her brain went fuzzy and she moaned at the current assault her emotions had on her body. Light, fuzzy and warm. The feel of his lips on hers and his tongue exploring her mouth was something she hadn’t dared to think about before, but it was mind consuming.
She struggled not to embarrass herself when they separated by leaning back in for more. Finding him a little starstruck while looking down at her. Softly panting while she was near gasping for air. “Well then… uh… this makes us significant others. Yes. Right.”
He chuckled at her, moving his hand to instead begin combing through her hair, watching fondly as it made her melt against him and attempt to lean into his touch. “It makes us mates, schatz. Of course, were not mated, but that can come later. Much later, if you’d prefer. However it works out.”
She hummed, relaxing against his chest as he played with her hair. The movie still playing the background of little interest to either of them anymore. His next words made her eyes open as she tensed though. “Now, who told you about the tendril thing?”

Egbert the Wingman on his latest attempt at atonement. You pick the couple he decides to "help". Bonus points for Seal Giamen cameo
Thank you so much for the prompt!!! I hope that you enjoy it!!
This is unbeta'd because I feel like dying like a man today. Also, I don't own any of it.
The day started out just as any other. Egbert woke to the waves rocking the boat, the smell of gunpowder, and a large seal angrily bomfing at him because it was breakfast time. “Alright, alright,” he said, pushing the seal away from him and rolling out of the bed. “Good morning to you too.”
Seal Gaiman just stared at him with a stern expression on his face before bomfing again and making his way to the door.
“Alright, let’s see what we can ‘borrow’ from Corazón this time,” Egbert said, making his way out of the door.
“Egbert, are you talking to that dumb seal again?” Corazón said, making his way out from below deck, “I thought we’d talked about this.”
“You let Merilwen talk to animals all the time!”
Corazón rolled his eyes. “Merilwen uses magic to talk to animals. If you were doing that, it wouldn’t be weird,” he made his way to the ladder that led above deck, “I just refreshed the larder with pickles. Make sure to keep the seal out of them.”
“Sure thing,” Egbert said with an agreeable smile. He waited until Corazón had made his way up to the top of the deck before turning to look back at the now disappeared Seal Gaiman. “Come on, mate, where are you at?”
A series of seal noises and a clutter led to the seal curled up in said barrel of pickles.
“Come on, Corazón told us to stay out of there!” When the seal steadfastly refused to move, Egbert shook his head. “Well, I’m not helping you out this time!”
Making his way upstairs, Egbert passed Prudence’s door (there was no mysterious humming and chanting coming from within this morning) and nearly ran into Dob, who was standing with Meril-cat on his shoulders.
“Oh, there you are, Egbert,” Dob said happily. “I’m supposed to tell you that we are going to spend the day in town and then we will be leaving this evening. Corazón says ‘don’t be late, but also, I don’t want to see you lot for the rest of the day. Captain’s orders!’” He smiled brightly.
“Sounds good, what do you want to do then?”
Dob shifted uncomfortably. “I’m sorry Egbert, but I promised Merilwen I’d spend the day with her. We’re going to see how many taverns will adopt her as a bar cat!” Said cat was still resting imperiously on his shoulder.
“Ah, okay. Well, I guess that I can use this time to check in with La Vache Mauve.”
“Sounds good to me, buddy,” Dob said, before leaving the ship with the cat on his shoulder.
Left alone on the main deck, Egbert shifted uncomfortably. It had been a while since he had the silence he needed to talk to the cow. On the other hand, silence was still silence. And if there was one thing Egbert knew, it was that all silence existed to be wonderfully broken.
As he was thinking this, the sun appeared to glow a little bit purple. Looking at it longer, Egbert watched as it slowly turned, revealing the purple cow that he followed.
“La Vache Mauve!” He exclaimed happily.
“Yes, child,” the cow replied. “Now, I see that you have been making steps toward atonement.”
“I try,” he responded dutifully, “It’s slow going, though. It’s not easy, you know!”
“The path to make up for our past mistakes is never easy, young one,” the image in the sky shifted to look stern, “But if we are not able to walk it when the road is tough, we are not really walking it at all.”
Egbert took a slow breath, pondering that. “I think I understand,” he said. “I will continue to walk the path, even when it is tough.”
Countenance shifting into a please expression, La Vache Mauve went on, “As it is, it is time for you to take the next step in your journey. Two of your companions are struggling to be true to themselves and each other. You must help them take the next step they need toward truth.”
Egbert nodded. That sounded doable. “Which of my two companions are you talking about?” He asked.
“That is something you already know, you must think about it and go from there,” with a moo, the sun had turned again, and Egbert was left on the boat alone.
That didn’t last long as he grabbed his trusty mace and bombs and leapt over the side of the boat. La Vache Mauve may not have said who he was supposed to help, but if there were a liar in the group that he traveled with, it was definitely Corazón De Ballena, and Egbert had a feeling that where he found Corazón, he would find the other member being untruthful to themselves.
Sure enough, as he turned around the corner, he had to stop suddenly so as to not draw the attention of the pirate. Corazón was at one of the stalls of artisanal meats, but instead of looking at the wares, he was standing behind one of the barrels and staring across the market. Confused, Egbert followed his gaze . . . oh.
Standing at a shop and looking at various baubles was none other than Prudence. She didn’t seem to notice either of them, and as Egbert watched, she selected a bauble and brought it to the counter, leaning in to touch the shop keeper’s arm and laughing at what he said. After some words were exchanged, she paid for the bauble with some coin and turned around, letting a smirk show off her face. She then walked out of the market area confidently, seemingly still not noticing the two people watching her.
Egbert turned to look back at Corazón, who was still looking at the stall Prudence had been sitting at with a pinched expression and his arms crossed tightly across his chest. Suddenly, he strode off, following her path into the next area and leaving Egbert alone.
Crossing his arms across his chest, Egbert thought. Dob had mentioned thinking that Corazón may have stronger feelings for Prudence than he was letting on. The two were close, and if there was one thing Prudence did lie about, it was her emotions. Standing, straighter, Egbert resolutely followed them.
Operation: Gain Atonement By Hooking Up Your Teammates was on.
***************
As Egbert strode into the next area, he was immediately grateful that it was busy. It allowed him to blend into the crowd better. Unfortunately, it also allowed Corazón to blend into the crowd better, which meant that he was still able to tail Prudence as she went on her shopping spree, this time entering an antique shop. This had to stop.
Filled with a spurt of inspiration, Egbert wandered into a more secluded area and started casting “Find Steed.” 10 minutes later, he had a dog and a Prudence was coming back out of the antique shop.
“Hey there, boy,” he said, leaning down to pet the dog. “I need you to cause a commotion and bring Prudence and Corazón together, okay?”
With a quick bark, the dog went off to do as he commanded, running into the middle of the crowd and howling before growling and leaping up on the counter by where Corazón was hiding, grabbing a piece of meat off of it and jumping down. Shaking his head, the Dogbert threw the meat in Corazón’s direction, causing him to dodge out of the way . . . and into one of the barrels that sat outside of the stall, just as Prudence walked into a nearby tavern.
Dogbert sat back and looked at Corazón, who was now sprawled against one of the barrels, before coming back and sitting down at Egbert’s feet.
“Yeah, that’s fair,” Egbert said, reaching down to pet his head. “Good boy.”
A few minutes later, Corazón had recovered from his spill and made his way into the tavern. Egbert followed him inside, deciding that he could always pretend to be a dragonborn gargoyle if it looked like he was about to be spotted.
It turns out that this was unnecessary, as Corazón had taken a seat at the bar and was drawing all the attention to himself. Well, “taking a seat” wasn’t the best description of what was going on-- more like he had sprawled himself against the bar and was loudly describing his recent “heroic adventures.” Somehow, the slight scratches he bore from crashing into the barrel had turned into scars he had received tumbling through cliffs while being chased by a villainous beast, which he had of course managed to trick and then slay without any further harm to himself.
The worst part was that it appeared that the people in this tavern were utter fools. A group of men (more like boys, really, they clearly had never left the town) were listening, egging him on. And there were women (again, more like girls) who were seated next to him, saying things like “that must have been so scary” and “wow, you are so brave!”
As Egbert himself sat down at one of the seats near the main aisle, he spotted Prudence, who was seated in a shadowed corner and seemed to be drinking her ale very fast. She was clenching the tankard she was holding so tight her knuckles were red, and her whole body had gone stiff, much like a very unhappy cat. She also kept shooting furtive looks in Corazón’s direction before looking back at the table in front of her.
All of a sudden, there was a commotion from the bar as Corazón stood up, loudly announcing, “And now I will show you how I, Corazón De Ballena, master swordsman, took down the fierce monsters!” He shuffled his feet into a fencing pose and held out his hands as if he was holding a rapier, quickly moving through the motions of the supposed fight. Nearby, the girls around him gasped and giggled in glee.
As Corazón got closer and closer to him (and Prudence), Egbert saw his chance and subtly stuck out his foot. The pirate, so focused on his performance, didn’t notice, and sure enough, he tripped, flailing wildly before stumbling over and tripping on another chair leg. Through an impressive series of events that only could have happened because a cow was watching over them, Corazón stumbled and tripped through the tavern, before finally landing square in Prudence’s lap.
Immediately, both of them froze, locking wide eyes. Indeed, they were not the only ones frozen, as the whole tavern went silent.
Then Prudence roughly shoved Corazón off of her, causing him to roll on the floor and land on his back. “I hope you fight monsters better than you fight the empty air,” she taunted before making her way out of the room.
Propping himself up on his arms, Corazón watched her leave before suddenly jumping up, standing like a peacock. “Alright, which one of you pushed me?” He demanded, “That is unacceptable, and I will have my vengeance!!”
Egbert was already gone.
***********
As he left the tavern, Egbert looked around wildly before realizing that Prudence had successfully escaped into the crowd. Even though it should be easy to find a ruby red tiefling among all of the people, she was nowhere to be seen.
As he was thinking this, Corazón walked out of the tavern and looked around before deflating. Noticing Egbert, he walked up to him. “Where’s Prudence?” He demanded.
“Why should I know?” Egbert asked.
“You were OUT HERE, Egbert! It doesn’t seem hard to keep track of her when you can see where she’s gone!”
Egbert shrugged. “Sorry, I was too busy trying to pick out a new barrel of pickles.”
“I can’t believe you let the seal into my pickles and you lost Prudence! I’m going to get drunk, and I don’t want to see any of you until later on!” He stormed back into the tavern.
Egbert sighed and fought the urge to bury his head in his face. There went his chance at atonement.
As he was thinking that, the sun seemed to shift and La Vache Mauve appeared in it yet again. “Well done, my child.”
“What are you talking about?” Egbert kicked a rock. “I failed. They didn’t reveal any truths to each other.”
“Remember that in life, every step made on the journey is a valuable one,” came the reply. “This is a lesson that is relevant to their story as well as to yours. Atonement, like truth, will only come once you’ve waited.” Before Egbert could say anything in reply, the cow had disappeared again.
“Well, that’s deeply unhelpful,” Egbert said to himself before setting out to find some pickles.
*****************
Later that evening, all was quiet on The Joyful Damnation. Dob and Merilwen had come back to the ship laughing gleefully about having turned her into the best tavern cat ever. Egbert had removed Seal Gaiman from the pickle bucket and had retired to bed, trying to find peace from the day. Prudence had returned to the ship before the others and had retired to her quarters for some rest. And Corazón made his way back last, stumbling aboard the ship and making his way to the captain’s quarters.
As he walked inside, he started unbuttoning his top, preparing to sleep, before sensing something off about the room. Looking side to side, he didn’t see anything-- until he looked up and saw the familiar glowing eyes of the party’s tiefling.
If asked, Corazón would tell you that he always responded to things in the most epic and dignified manner ever. In actuality, he jumped back in shock and let out a series of impressive swear words. Taking a few breaths and clutching his chest in shock, he finally managed to get a few words. “What are you doing in here?” He demanded. “I thought we agreed Captain’s Quarters were off limits!! And that you shouldn’t Spider Climb on my ship!!”
“You said that; I pretended to listen,” Prudence shrugged, dropping down from ceiling onto the floor. “And I’m here because as stupid as you and your stories are, those scratches are fresh and you’ll probably let them get infected and then I’ll have to hear you complain about it. So I’m going to clean them out for you.”
Corazón blustered. “I don’t need your help, Prudence! As the captain and leader of this ship, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself! In fact, I should be helping you!”
“Uh huh,” Prudence said, grabbing his shoulders and pushing him onto the bed before grabbing one of his arms and examining it. “You have splinters in here, by the way.” Her touch was gentle as she set about removing them and cleaning the scratches.
Corazón froze for a few minutes, staring out of the wall but watching her out of the corner of his eye. When she didn’t make any motion to look anywhere other than his arm, he relaxed, but he continued to pointedly not watch her. “It’s not that bad,” he muttered.
“It never is with you,” Prudence responded matter-of-factly, dropping the arm she was looking at and picking up the other one. “It doesn’t look like these will need bandaging, but it also means they won’t scar, so you won’t get to impress girls with them much longer.”
“So you admit they’re impressive?” He puffed out his chest.
“They could be considered impressive if I didn’t see you roll straight into a barrel of salt trying to avoid a puppy,” she corrected him, raising an eyebrow and meeting his eyes.
“It was bigger than a puppy. It was a real beast, Prudence, I was just protecting the townspeople,” Corazón flushed.
“Ah yes, I got to see your prowess up close and personal in the tavern,” she remarked wryly, smirking as his face went redder. “Somebody sure was clumsy today, weren’t they?”
“Clumsy? I am never clumsy, I am the epitome of grace and dexterity at all times . . . OW!”
Holding up the splinter she had taken out mid rant, Prudence raised her eyebrow. “Truly, you’re the most impressive man I know,” she said before chuckling and dropping his hand. “Well, I think you can handle yourself from here.” As she left, she stopped to look at him. “Sleep well, Corazón,” and she slipped out of the room.
Watching her leave, Corazón shook his head and ran his fingers over his arm gently before laying down and falling into a peaceful slumber.
Watching overhead, La Vache Mauve smiled.

Y/N played with the cup of tea that sat steaming before her, running the tips of her fingers around the golden rim. The soft chamomile scent rose up to her nose in charmed yellow tendrils, something that would’ve been calming had she not been sat in front of Professor Trelawny, answering uncomfortable questions and averting her gaze from her loony eyes.
“Dearie, I know that you may not want to share, but it’s incredibly important for the healing process. Even more important than the potions and the tea leaf readings.”
“Er...when I first fell asleep, all my dreams were just of past memories. Aft--”
“Excuse me.” Trelawny held up her hand as she scratched a heading on her parchment. “If you want to get better, you must add more details. What memories? Of what?”
Y/N swallowed, casting her eyes to the ceiling. “Erm...I saw Malfoy. Draco Malfoy.” Her breath hitched as the professor furrowed her eyebrows. Suddenly the teacup felt scalding in her hand. “I saw our rounds together. When we ran into the mirror, that is.”
“What mirror?”
“The Mirror of Erised.”
Trelawny raised her eyebrow--a quick motion but not entirely unassuming. “Interesting. Very, very curious indeed. Go on.”
“I saw us...together. I didn’t think that it was a special mirror until afterwards because it looked the same. We were...uhm...together.”
It took a few seconds of staring at Trelawny’s googly eyes before she realized she’d just repeated herself.
“And after that….” Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to draw out the rest of her memories. “I don’t remember everything else. I’m sorry. It was just everything that I remember about Malfoy in particular...like, the first time I saw him, what it was like to talk to him for the first time, running away from him in the Slytherin dungeons that one night I had to stay overnight for potions...that’s it.”
Her professor nodded gravely, shifting in the only chairs that the hospital wing provided to visitors--hard, cold mahogany wood. “Well done. And after? Once Miss Severyjn woke you up?”
Her throat felt dry. Of course I’d have to recount what happened. Of course I have to tell them about how I had a dream about making out with him in my dorm. Of course. Just my luck.
“I’m sorry,” said Y/N. “It’s just...weird. It felt too private.”
Trelawny seemed slightly empathetic at this; her eyes seemed even kinder (albeit still dreamy) than usual. “I’ve heard it all, love. No need to be ashamed.”
“Okay.” She took a steadying breath. “I...well...it’s fuzzy. I can’t remember exactly why we ended up ditching our rounds and why we decided to go to my dorm instead.”
It was difficult to continue when she saw her companion’s eyebrows shoot up a few inches, but she steeled herself.
“It took me a long time to unlock my dorm door--I think I was nervous, or something, because my hands were shaking too hard to hold my wand steady. He moved my hand aside and said something--I can’t quite remember what--and he just unlocked it himself. I think I dragged him in by his tie, and he told me that I was trembling, and then before I knew it he was cupping my face. I remember being surprised by how warm his hands were. I thought they’d be colder.”
“Go on, doll. I only need a little bit more.”
“It’s awfully embarrassing, you know,” said Y/N. “I hardly know him.”
“Don’t you worry. Your dream was created by whatever traces of magic the Mirror of Erised left on you. This has nothing to do with how you view Malfoy.”
She dared to smile at this point, mostly as a way to pretend like she wasn’t mortified recounting her tale. “He kissed me. I don’t know if you need any more details, but that’s the grand picture of it all. He kissed me, and I didn’t stop him, and now I feel like a proper creeper, having fantasies about a boy who wants nothing to do with me.”
The wrinkles on Trelawny’s forehead deepened. “Don’t fret. The Mirror of Erised is a very powerful thing. You couldn’t have influenced that dream to work any different than it had. On that note…” She brushed herself off and rolled up the parchment. “You’ve given me enough to work with. The reason why I ask is because sometimes certain dreams can be prophetic--sometimes regarding important wizarding events that the headmaster ought to be aware of--or potentially deadly. Both instances require a bit more...of an intensive treatment regiment, if you will. I’m happy to report to you that your bout of Dream Sickness shouldn’t develop into anything more sinister. I’ll recommend that you stay here for a bit longer, just to ensure that you don’t slip into it again, but you should be able to have visitors and wean yourself off of Dreamless Sleep. Rest up, darling. You have a lot of sleeping to do.”
Y/N smiled weakly as she allowed Trelawny to pluck the teacup from her hands and swirl the leaves about.
“Nothing but good news in your future, just as I suspected. Good night!”
oOo
Life in the infirmary led Y/N to walk a wobbly line of consciousness. Once Madame Pomfrey lowered the doses of her potion, dreams began to once again tickle at her sleeping mind. Sometimes people she knew would appear next to her bedside, and she was never able to tell if it was real. During one of these instances, Rena appeared to hold her hand and recount the hottest gossip that she missed.
“...And after that, Parvati told Lavender Brown that she was nothing but a ditz whose only acts of Gryffindor bravery had to do with the fact that she left her room every morning wearing THAT disaster of a cloak…but I’m boring you, I can tell.”
Y/N, or perhaps Dream Y/N, whichever one she was, sent her a soft smile. “S’okay. Tell me more.”
“Oh, I totally forgot!” Rena squeezed her hand. “I talked to Flitwick about the whole incident. He sends his condolences. He also says that you’re excused from rounds until we reassign partners. No more late nights with Malfoy!”
She rolled her eyes, shuffling further under the blankets. This was just a dream, just a dream.
“Sucks to be him. He’s gonna have to walk all those big, scary halls alone at night.”
Rena cracked a grin, but something flashed across her eyes that Y/N couldn’t quite decipher. “Yeah. He already had his knickers in a twist over having to do it the first night. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he missed you.”
“He missed having someone to harass, you mean,” corrected Y/N.
“Yeah, I suppose so. He’s not all bad all the time though, you know. I mean, granted, he is a rich little prat, but he has some good in him.”
“Got a crush, hm?”
Rena’s eyes shifted again. She was nervous thought Y/N. But why? She quickly decided to ask Madame Pomfrey for a higher dose of Dreamless Sleep the next time she saw her as a lucid member of society. This stuff is getting out of hand.
Before Dream Rena left, she dropped off a bouquet of flowers--white roses, her favorite. Y/N tried to thank her, but she felt herself being tugged softly to a different dream, away, away, away from her dear friend.
It took a rough shake of the shoulder from Madame Pomfrey before she was awake again.
“Drink,” she said, forcing a goblet of something foul into her hands. “You’ve been delirious. You need to wake up.”
The taste that hit her tongue was bitter and laced with the nostalgia of O.W.Ls season last year--Wide-Eye Potion. Her consciousness came crashing down on her like a cool tide and she became aware of how much sweat was dripping down her back.
Gross.
“Feel better?”
Y/N nodded, but as she turned to set her now-empty goblet on the table next to her, her stomach lurched.
A vase of white roses stood, unimposing in nature but anxiety inducing when she considered the implications they carried. Rena’s visit hadn’t been a dream--and her last excuse to see Draco, the boy who had made her life hell for the last few weeks, was gone.
So why did it feel like she’d just been punched in the stomach?
oOo
Exactly a week and one day after she had been admitted to the hospital, Madame Pomfrey allowed her a special privilege--the chance to take a walk around the castle grounds. After breathing the same stale hospital wing air, Y/N was eager to fill her lungs with something colder and fresh.
“Stick close to the gravel path,” said Madame Pomfrey, the wrinkles in her forehead deepening with each word she spoke. “Do not, and I mean, do not, get near a single magical artifact or so help me Merlin. If you feel the slightest bit feverish, you will come right back here and you will not--under any circumstances--lie down and shut your eyes. Am I understood?”
“Yes, Madame Pomfrey.” The words fell out of Y/N’s mouth without her really taking any notice; instead, she watched the way the trees moved outside, swaying softly with the wind. “I promise I’ll be careful.”
The nurse nodded--a brisk, tense motion. “Good. Be back here in 30 minutes. Any later and I will employ the entire staff of this castle to come track you down so I can personally drag you back here.”
Y/N had forgotten how air could be crisp--crisp she thought giddily--as she waltzed her way down the steps and into the courtyard. Her loafers made a satisfying tap on the stone that she almost missed when the pathway turned to gravel, the rocks crunching under toe instead. But regardless, she was stoked. In that moment, she had never felt more alive, not even after she’d gotten near straight Os last year...but seconds later, she was hit with something other than euphoria: namely, a silk clad black shoulder.
“Ow.” Y/N went face first into the ground, her cheek bouncing off the hard floor.
“Ah, fuck! Fuck! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” A posh voice, no doubt the owner of the silky shoulder, sounded from above her. “Oh, oh my god, Y/N? Is that you?”
She rolled over on her back and looked right up into the concerned eyes of Draco Malfoy.
“Er...Hi,” she said. “Lovely day, isn’t it?”
His eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at her. “Are you alright? Why are you out of the hospital wing?”
“Madame Pomfrey let me go for a walk. She said that it’s good for me. Also she told me not to...fuck, I’m not supposed to lie down!”
The flash of terror in her eyes seemed to say enough, and before she knew it, he was hauling her up off the ground.
“Why are they letting you walk out all alone?” asked Draco, his tone demanding but not entirely uncaring.
“I think they presumed that everyone on the path would have the common decency to avoid a poor sick girl coming out for her first walk in a week, but clearly they thought too soon.”
Draco still hadn’t completely let go of her shoulders, where his hands were clasped firmly around the sides in a gesture meant to steady. He snorted at that moment, a bit of his old self shining back through as he narrowed his eyes down good-naturedly at her. “It’s hardly like the entire school has been issued a warning that you’ve been released.”
“Oh, quit stroking my ego like that.” Y/N tilted her eyebrow to examine him. For the most part, her old rounds partner looked no different--same strikingly light eyes, same aristocratic features, same expensive and fashionable apparel--but the bags under his eyes were new. “Have you been sleeping? Like, at all?”
“Me?”
“Yeah, you. Who else?”
His hands moved away from their supporting position to scratch the back of his neck. “Oh, er, not much. I keep worrying about getting what you came down with. Rena told me about the Dream Sickness and how it was because of the mirror, and it’s just hard for me to sleep.”
“Oh. I’m sorry about that.”
“Yeah.” He shifted his weight back and forth, his hands shoved deep into his pockets.
“What exactly did Rena tell you?” Y/N’s words snapped Draco back to attention. “And if you say everything I will lie down on the ground, go back into my dream coma, and tell everyone it’s your fault.”
“Well, then.” A smirk danced across his lips. “Nothing. Rena told me nothing.”
Y/N stared at him for a few seconds before lowering herself to the ground, never breaking eye contact.
“What--what are you doing?”
His face went out of her eye line as she lay flat on the ground, stretching her limbs out to vaguely resemble a starfish and exhaling a heavy sigh. “I’m going to sleep right here. When Madame Pomfrey finds me, barely toeing the line between life and death, I’ll have rehearsed a speech in my mind about how Draco Malfoy knocked a poor sick girl over in the gravel pathway and then harassed her to the point of exhaustion.”
When Y/N opened her eyes, she could see Draco come into vision. His green and silver striped tie swung in the air above her as he leaned over her, a slight grimace on his face.
“I don’t think you were sorted into the right house.”
“Keep your comments to yourself,” she said, shutting her eyes again and taking in a deep breath. “Some of us are trying to sleep.”
“I thought you were--Y/N, wait!” A hand reached out to gently shake her shoulder. “Wait! I thought you were kidding!”
“I never kid. I’m very serious. Leave me be, now. I have a speech to write.”
She heard a loud and rather over dramatic sigh above her before a hand started tugging at her arm, lifting it up over her head and pulling.
“Draco! Stop!”
“Calling me Draco, now, huh? Awfully intimate when you’re about to frame me for attempted murder,” he said, his tone surprisingly consistent and clear for someone hauling a whole adult woman off the ground. “Can you at least try to help me? A little bit?”
“Fuck off,” was the only thing coming out of Y/N’s mouth as he pulled her to her feet for the second time in less than 10 minutes. Once they were both standing, just barely a meter apart, Y/N found herself at a complete loss for words. Draco was looking down at her with an emotion displayed across his features that she could not quite place, and it made her stomach twist.
“You have gravel stuck in your hands.”
His voice took her by surprise. It had softened considerably, almost to a whisper. There was none of the usual snottiness or nasal judgement present--just a breathy declaration that made her knees weak from the sudden shift in energy.
His hand moved towards hers, and he met her eyes with a gaze that asked “is this okay?” Y/N couldn’t help but just stare, wide-eyed and unable to blink, as he gently took her hand and began pulling out the rocks.
“I have to tell you something,” said Draco, still quiet and unimposing in tone. “I...I know that this might come as a surprise, and I know that you...er...probably don’t care to hear this, but, erm…”
Y/N just stared.
“I’ve been feeling this way for a while, and I just didn’t really figure it out until you, uh, you got sick, and I know I’ve been a proper prat to you and that you have no need to reciprocate anything, truly, but, ehm…”
His adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he squeezed his eyes shut, like he was in pain or something.
“Spit it out, Draco, I don’t have all day,” added Y/N lightly.
“Miss Y/L/N!”
A voice boomed across the courtyard, making Y/N nearly jump out of her skin. A quick turn revealed that it was Madame Pomfrey. And a furious Madame Pomfrey at that.
“You foolish, foolish girl,” said Pomfrey, seizing her by the arm and dragging her away. “Speaking to the same boy in your dreams? Why don’t you just go and lick the Mirror of Erised and fall asleep right after? You give me migraines.”
“I’m so sorry Madame Pomfrey! I didn’t mean to!” Apologies rolled out of Y/N’s mouth at a rapid-fire pace, not stopping until she’d been escorted back to her bed.
“I am so disappointed in you,” the older lady snapped as she stormed over to the neighboring bed, angrily wringing out a washcloth. “No visitors. Not until you have a perfect bill of health.”
Hospital air had never felt so stale.

TMA Entities as Normal Horoscopes
(To clarify, the Entities from The Magnus Archives, as represented by horoscopes from @normal-horoscopes. Entities presented in alphabetical order, horoscopes in the order that I found them.)
BEHOLDING

Gemini: Unleash your curiosity upon an unforgiving world and dissect everything you are afraid of with an olive fork until you understand it so well it can’t scare you anymore.
Pisces: You are the last one still awake. What are you still doing up? This late at night, with only one pair of eyes. You might see something you weren’t supposed to.
Gemini: You’ll have to throw out or donate most of your novelty t-shirts when you awake to find several bonus eyes hovering around you in elliptical orbits.
Sagittarius: Careful not to blunt those sharp eyes on an unforgiving task. Passion for learning is all well and good, but you’re venturing into uncharted territory that may contain things that want your eyes.
Gemini: Most of us have spare eyes. You have far too many.
Taurus: I can’t shake the feeling I’m being watched. Wait, watched isn’t the right word. Watched and something else.
Cancer: Quit your peeping. Something is looking back at you.
BURIED
Virgo: The weight of the world will crush you into a diamond.
Virgo: Your horoscope today is just dust. That’s it. Buncha dust.

Cancer: You’ve come across something you should not have interrupted. Run. Run now. Go, or the very earth will swallow you whole.
Scorpio: Your natural drive and ambition will lead you to some interesting places! Who knew a person could even fit in that small a hole?
CORRUPTION
Aries: Live in the level of filth that is comfortable to you. Just make sure you are practicing self-love.
Pisces: You will see a cool picture of a plague doctor this week. Hell yeah.

Ophiuchus: When she awoke to see the infection had taken her shoulder she did the only sensible thing. She cut off her own head. She holds it by the hair in her left hand.
Ophiuchus: Worms in your brain. Worms in your brain. There are very helpful worms in your brain.
Gemini: The discomfort you can’t seem to shake is likely due to the large nest of bees that have made its home inside your ribs.
Ophiuchus: The value of today’s fortune depends heavily on your opinion of rot.
Virgo: The position of Mars says the virus is spreading and soon you will be reborn ascendant to join in the virulent bacchanalia.

Leo: The Diminutive Beings of Shadow and Dread are raccoons. They are raccoons. Close your trash cans.
Aries: You visibly absorb light from the area around you, consider medication.
Leo: Something moves soundlessly through your neighborhood, avoiding the streetlights. Check on your pets.
Pisces: The night is a blanket over all of us. There is fear and comfort in the privacy of the dark.
DESOLATION
Scorpio: As much as the stars and I admire your zeal, human hair candles will not catch on.
Taurus: Ensure your friends sit next to you by burning all other chairs and eating the ashes to hide your trickery.
Virgo: Fire is a powerful cleansing force, but that doesn’t make arson legal. The one thing fire cannot purify is the law.
Gemini: It absolutely could hurt to try. Pain is just pain.
Aries: Today your horoscope involves fire and children. The stars wouldn’t clarify anything past that.
Ophiuchus: A chapel made from old shipping containers. The priest is setting herself on fire for the third time in the sermon.
Cancer: It will not actually solve anything, but you can put your problems into perspective by setting everything on fire.
Capricorn: You’ll look back on all of it and wish it to be burned. Start the fire as soon as possible.
Libra: Watch the fire dance between your fingers. You only have so long.
END
Aries: Look buddy, only one of us can leave this pumpkin festival alive, and I’m already dead.
Gemini: What’s the rush? Nothing has happened but you can feel your heartbeat in your ears, you can feel your eyes dilate. Literally nothing has changed but your body seems convinced that you are going to die any second.
Scorpio: No sense in arguing over the supposed opinions of a dead man. Dig him up and ask him why don’t you? It’s a once in a lifetime chance.
Sagittarius: Today you will be legally dead for about 140 seconds but you’ll come back with a complementary mint.
Leo: After selling your soul to the devil, the sheer negative value of your soul will crash the soul market, causing the dead to walk again.
Ophiuchus: The only permanent state of being is death and even that’s debatable.
Pisces: A good strategy here is to simply refuse to die.
Aquarius: Fuck it. Carry a scythe around. Who even gives a shit.
Capricorn: Statistically, there is a chance that something you do today, however small, will lead to the death of an innocent.
Ophiuchus: Death is only the beginning. The beginning of not being alive anymore.
Aries: Your obsession with death will be satisfied. Eventually.
FLESH
Ophiuchus: Have yourself a feast and invent a new catholic saint to justify it.
Taurus: The stars say to get of your high horse and quit genetically engineering horses to have such legs. Horses are poorly designed as they are. It’s irresponsible.
Aries: Your newfound ability to scale a brick wall in seconds flat is kinda scary. Your bones make weird noises and everything. Try not to do it around kids.
Virgo: Do you know what flavor you are Virgo? Well get ready to find out!
Capricorn: You know Capricorn, you’re really one or two big steps away from being a sausage.
Leo: There will be a distinct element of aggression to your emotions today, specifically towards chefs that are a member of the ancient secret society of cannibals who just murdered your science teacher.
Taurus: Money troubles Taurus? Try growing new bones and selling them to bone farmers for extra cash. If you get good enough at it, you can use wholesalers.
Sagittarius: Fear not, there is pulled pork aplenty for those with the courage to seek it.
Virgo: There is a mad little part of our heads that looks at a meat cleaver and says “just chop your hand off”. Don’t listen to that bit. It's a prick and it owes me $120.
Pisces: Your body is not a temple, it is a river. A river made of meat and blood and stuff.
HUNT
Aquarius: Speak softly, carry a big stick, hide a gun inside the stick just in case the bastard is outside of stick range.
Pisces: If you are being chased by something unearthly, go for the selfie. Life is short, especially when you are being chased by something unearthly.
Aries: Nothing evil stalks the forest. The wild is bigger than you could ever imagine. You are nothing to it. No skinwalker or boogeyman or revenant could ever aspire to the persistence and hunger of the wild untamed.
Leo: Allow fear to inform you. To accept fear as sovereign is sin against the self. Fear is very correct about the large hungry mammal chasing you. Run.
Aquarius: Those assassins from the meat of the month club have finally found your new address and are planting the explosives as you read this.
Scorpio: Dreams of chasing smaller weaker things through the woods. Waking aching to remember. You will remember soon.
Sagittarius: The hunt is on! No starbucks will escape your horn-blessed gaze.
Scorpio: You will get into a fight. Go on a quest for revenge. And know the true visceral feeling of the hunt.
Virgo: The blissful are being sold a lie. The only true bliss is the glory of the hunt and a slaked bloodlust.
Pisces: Nothing gets the panties wet like the sound of hundreds of spectral mounts crashing through moonlit woods while the call of the hunt echoes among the trees, striking fear into the hearts of your ghastly quarry.
LONELY
Ophiuchus: You can’t stop feeling just one thing. Stuffing down one emotion means stuffing down them all.
Aquarius: You may be stunned to find that the introduction of a new person into your life will make you less lonely.
Taurus: Spend some time outdoors today. Reflect on the state of the world. See yourself reflected in the world and try to fight the other person who is interrupting your reflection time.
Aquarius: Do you remember the seaside? That strip of sand that made you feel at home? Do you remember how quiet it was?
Virgo: Remember Virgo, you can click the control stick to go into stealth mode. Use this to avoid your problems easier.
Aries: You are beyond the pale, transparent really.
Taurus: It's not fog. It's a curse. A curse that looks like fog. Stay away.
Cancer: The stars and I regret to tell you that you will, actually, have to talk to people at some point.
SLAUGHTER
Capricorn: Some things cannot be prepared for. Who even uses flintlock pistols anymore? Especially in the parking lot of a grocery store?
Pisces: There is a number of knives that it is appropriate to own. It is quite high. Let’s say you need to curate your collection.
Pisces: Romantic bloodsport for two.
Leo: Nobody really cares that you’re not one for fighting. Preparation is its own reward.
Leo: Having trouble with your customers at work? Strike the head for critical damage!
Aries: When things seem confusing, just start swinging at whoever you see. At the very least, you’ll get some breathing room.
Capricorn: It may be that you fight for good, and your opponent fights for a love of bloodshed, all that matters is that you are fighting.
Virgo: Ruthless efficiency produces results but blind rage is more fun.
SPIRAL
Libra: Drawings of wildflowers that don’t exist. Diagrams and advice in a language that nobody speaks. Strewn about your room in impossible places.
Capricorn: Reject the concept of direction. There is no up, there is no down. Orientation is for losers.
Sagittarius: You are correct Sagittarius! That small wooden carving of a fox wasn’t there last night! Yes, it is cursed! Right on the money there.
Capricorn: There is no old woman following you around throwing small potted plants at you.
Scorpio: Relieve stress by planning a trip that isn’t a trip to a place that isn’t a place. Relieve stress by conceiving of time collapsed into a single semipermeable plane of events that anchors all the things that could be.
Leo: When the world stops making sense, play with the perspective. Go Escher on your problem’s ass.
Taurus: Two strangers meet in a Mediterranean country that does not exist. They discuss silver and poison and the nature of madness.
STRANGER
Aquarius: You are never done growing. It takes real effort, and for you, it will take many hours of prowling around the backs of hardware stores for stray screws to eat.
Libra: There is something in the wires practicing its voices by leaving spam calls in your inbox.
Sagittarius: Whoops! Something stole your friend’s face again! Get that ritual dagger and get to work.
Capricorn: Well lookee what we go here, a full shipment of mannequins that look exactly like you except with minor errors in body part proportions. Whoda thunk?
Sagittarius: Enough improvements and you’ll barely recognize yourself. Harvest the parts and avoid the authorities.
Cancer: If you’re gonna copy other people, don’t half-ass it. Ritual cannibalism is the only way to go.
Ophiuchus: The creepy carnival set up outside of town that only certain people can see is not to be trusted, not matter how cool the rollercoaster looks.
Cancer: She’s a fake bitch. Literally, she has a heart of clockwork and armored skin made of porcelain. Even unholy things like her shouldn’t gossip though.
Taurus: Beware the almost. The almost real, the almost breathing, the almost human.
Virgo: Keep a close eye on the puppets. One of them has no strings.
VAST
Aries: The stars say you may find yourself falling from a great height. Remember to tuck and roll.
Virgo: Do not look down. There is nothing beneath you. Carry on with your day as if the world is sensible and solid beneath you, and it will follow suit.
Aries: The storm sirens wail, the sound of colossal footsteps thunder closer. A low mournful sound that seems to crack the sky.
Pisces: Today you might fall into a bottomless pit. This is not a metaphor.
Aries: Ever feel under the weather? You are lightning.
Aquarius: You can also see the stars if you’re not in a gutter.
Leo: A man on the roof of his home during a tornado warning, laughing.
Aries: The world seems to be getting smaller and smaller. One day you will be confronted with the magnitude of it all. The vast unexplored deep. The wild unknown, and all those that would build a home in its bosom.
Aries: The space between two mountains in the distance. The sky looks different. You can hear the beating of colossal wings.
Aquarius: Your desire for human contact can be satisfied by being struck by lightning for some reason.
WEB
Capricorn: Today you will finally locate and kill the college student with a writing credit on your life.
Capricorn: The stars say to make friends with the harvestmen in your bathroom. They are helping clean up all the lil bug corpses and would appreciate some recognition.
Aquarius: It’s time to make a nest. Don’t ask questions. No thought, only nest.
Gemini: You’ve got a productive day in store Gemini. Will it be on something you actually want to do? Let’s say there is some minor will enslavement involved.
Aquarius: You’ve done an excellent job so far of making friends with the spider people that live in the abandoned subway tunnels. Keep it up!
Gemini: People are depending on you to uphold your promises. The last thing you want to be known as is a trickster. Or is it? That’s exactly the sort of thing a trickster would do!
Leo: You are a puppet, you know exactly who is pulling the strings.
Libra: A tiny spider who has made a friend.
Ophiuchus: The spider lady would like her copy of Where the Sidewalk Ends back.
Aries: See how the cobwebs catch the light? Be sure to thank the spiders.
And some others that didn't necessarily fit with a particular Entity, but gave off such strong TMA vibes that I had to include them anyways:
Gemini: This week you will be faced with your greatest challenge yet, a twink with massive burn scars.
Libra: Preserve yourself for all eternity by outsourcing your aging to other people.
Pisces: One man’s panic inducing siren-song is what another man uses to fall asleep.
Virgo: Confused? Do not worry. Everything not saved will be lost.
Taurus: This week should be one of experimentation! Push the boundaries of what it means to be mortal!
Capricorn: Answer the Door.
Scorpio: Tomorrow will be the last time you dream of the crown of teeth.
Cancer: The thing that watches over the prison transport ships. It used to be two things but now they share a spine.
Aries: Trust your instincts Aries, your dead wife does have a new form made of dried paint and she is slowly hunting you.
Taurus: They died when the radio tower was bombed. Sometimes you can hear them sending messages before the sun rises, whispering over the unused channels.
Virgo: Your capacity for learning will come in handy today when you smash your head through an old Apple II and download the entire internet into your brain, along with several shards of glass.
Libra: Look, nobody said it would be easy, but at least now you’re suffering for something you love.
Pisces: There is a hole in the world where you cannot see, and through this hole there seeps the things that can never be.
Scorpio: Sometimes being too oblivious to even notice a problem can be an asset. Can’t sweat the small stuff if you don’t even notice it.
Libra: Financial problems? Try encasing your credit cards in a block of ice. Encase all money in a block of ice. Keep all wealth frozen in a block of ice.
Ophiuchus: Maybe your prayers would be answered if your god wasn’t such a pussy.
Gemini: Limited options make choices easier! There are only so many places you can get a human heart!
Taurus: Remember, now matter how many false eyes something might have, at least one of them has to be real. It boils down to a question of bullets over time.
Libra: When others can’t decide, you will be there to make the tough choices with your brave disregard for things like “Rational Thought” and “Basic Self-preservation”.
Virgo: Ribs are important. Make sure you have a good grasp on the importance of ribs.
Pisces: Your constant near death experiences may be putting you under some stress. Time for some light reading, or maybe some breathing exercises. Honestly the stars say you’re handling constantly being faced with your own mortality pretty well.
Aries: After hearing that cursed song today, you’ll only destroy 80% of the objects around you. Recovery is a slow process.
Cancer: There is an aggression to you today. There is an aggression to you all the time. There is an aggression to all things, it is simply your turn on the wheel.
Leo: The hunger you feel is not for food.
Capricorn: Woo her. She is terrifying isn’t she?
Gemini: You are hunting the guy down seven years later and bashing his knees in with a pipe.
Capricorn: What happens when you open a door marked “exit” and all you find is another hallway?
Ophiuchus: Nothing makes a friendship like shared intense suffering.
Taurus: Analog recording devices are surprisingly sensitive. Listen to your old tapes again and hear the tiny voices that whisper along with the song.
Taurus: Clawing your way back out has dulled your talons and blunted your fangs, you are a soft and gentle creature for it. You can buy a knife at most stores.
Sagittarius: When you needed patience, you thought of those who loved you. When you needed fury, you thought of those who hurt you. When you needed strength, you thought of yourself. When you needed just one more chance to get it right, you thought of that cat.
Libra: Keep a journal and write down everything you see, it may save the life of whoever finds it.
Libra: Did you feel it? Just now, the world ended. There's no going back. Saddle up and find a mask.
Leo: The night is long, the tea is hot, the eyes are plenty.
Ophiuchus: Your eyes can’t lie to you if you don't have any eyes.
Aries: Now is the time to try new things! Experience new forms of pain! Suffer in new and interesting ways!
Cancer: Someone is missing from that big social meeting you’ve got planned! Luckily they were just preoccupied with being suspended in limbo between life and death.
Libra: If someone says they have power over you, don't believe them until you see for yourself. Test those limits.
Aquarius: The danger you pose to others is dwarfed by your ability and desire to help. Nothing is without its dangers. You know this more than anyone.
Taurus: Turn some of your energy towards improving the space around you, especially if the space around you is bad and the energy is heat. Burn your house down.
Virgo: The stars say an authority member might be causing you some minor trouble. The important thing to remember during professional squabbles is to use your psychic powers to rip them apart with the strength of your will alone.
Taurus: It's a tough thing, allowing yourself to be known. The stars say the time may be coming up, are you ready? Too bad fucko, it's happening anyway.
Ophiuchus: Hiding under the covers actually works with some things. It is technically a threshold and so some things do actually have to be invited.
Cancer: Watch for a box that carries no address. Do not open it. It will be gone tomorrow.
Ophiuchus: Your choices are yours alone. This is important to remember, especially when not making choices.
Scorpio: Goddamit Goddamit shut the fuck up and tell a story.
Sagittarius: That could be you in a few years. Keep your feet about you.
Gemini: There is a deep and old power in that of the image. As long as cameras existed they have been a tool to tell what is really there.
