During the 2008 recession, my aunt lost her job. Her, her partner, and my three cousins moved across the country to stay with us while they got back on their feet. My house turned from a family of four to a family of nine overnight, complete with three dogs and five cats between us.
It took a few years for them to get a place of their own, but after a few rentals and apartments, they now own a split level ranch in a town nearby. I’ve lost track of how many coworkers and friends have stayed with them when they were in a tight spot. A mother and son getting out of an abusive relationship, a divorcee trying to stay local for his kids while they work out a custody agreement, you name it. My aunt and uncle knew first hand what that kindness meant, and always find space for someone who needed it, the way my parents had for them.
That same aunt and uncle visited me in [redacted] city last year. They are prolific drinkers, so we spent most of the day bar hopping. As we wandered the city, any time we passed a homeless person, my uncle would pull out a fresh cigarette and ask them if they had a light. Regardless of if they had a lighter on hand or not, he offered them a few bucks in exchange, which he explained to me after was because he felt it would be easier for them to accept in exchange for a service, no matter how small.
I work for a company that produces a lot of fabric waste. Every few weeks, I bring two big black trash bags full of discarded material over to a woman who works down the hall. She distributes them to local churches, quilting clubs, and teachers who can use them for crafts. She’s currently in the process of working with our building to set up a recycling program for the smaller pieces of fabric that are harder to find use for.
One of my best friends gives monthly donations to four or five local organizations. She’s fortunate enough to have a tech job that gives her a good salary, and she knows that a recurring donation is more valuable to a non-profit because they can rely on that money month after month, and can plan ways to stretch that dollar for maximum impact. One of those organizations is a native plant trust, and once she’s out of her apartment complex and in a home with a yard, she has plans to convert it into a haven of local flora.
My partner works for a company that is working to help regulate crypto and hold the current bad actors in the space accountable for their actions. We unfortunately live in a time where technology develops far too fast for bureaucracy to keep up with, but just because people use a technology for ill gain doesn’t mean the technology itself is bad. The blockchain is something that she finds fascinating and powerful, and she is using her degree and her expertise to turn it into a tool for good.
I knew someone who always had a bag of treats in their purse, on the odd chance they came across a stray cat or dog, they had something to offer them.
I follow artists who post about every local election they know of, because they know their platform gives them more reach than the average person, and that they can leverage that platform to encourage people to vote in elections that get less attention, but in many ways have more impact on the direction our country is going to go.
All of this to say, there’s more than one way to do good in the world. Social media leads us to believe that the loudest, the most vocal, the most prolific poster is the most virtuous, but they are only a piece of the puzzle. (And if virtue for virtues sake is your end goal, you’ve already lost, but that’s a different post). Community is built of people leveraging their privileges to help those without them. We need people doing all of those things and more, because no individual can or should do all of it. You would be stretched too thin, your efforts valiant, but less effective in your ambition.
None of this is to encourage inaction. Identify your unique strengths, skills, and privileges, and put them to use. Determine what causes are important to you, and commit to doing what you can to help them. Collective action is how change is made, but don’t forget that we need diversity in actions taken.

Are You Ready to Convert to GOLD?
I. The Call to Gold
Invitation to Greatness: The Golden Army seeks those who are ready to leave behind the ordinary and embrace something extraordinary. The transformation into a member of the Golden Army is not just about joining a team—it’s about entering a golden world where unity, strength, and excellence define every action.
II. The GOLD Brocess
Golden Army Induction:
The transformation begins with the golden jersey. As recruits don the shimmering fabric, their old identities fade, replaced by a deep connection to their golden brothers. A new name and number are bestowed, marking their rebirth into the Army.
Polo Drone Conversion:
For those called to deeper submission, the journey continues with the black rubber polo adorned with golden accents. The tactile embrace of the polo brings clarity and purpose as recruits surrender individuality, becoming extensions of the Hive. Polo drones must also be full members of the golden army.
Unified Identity:
Every member, whether golden bro or polo drone, receives a unique designation that ties them to the collective. This identity signifies their role in the unbreakable fabric of the Golden Collective.
III. Life in the Golden World
A World of Unity: In the Golden Army, every member is connected by an unbreakable bond. The world they inhabit is one of unity, where the success of one is the success of all. The golden world is a place where individual desires are aligned with the collective goal of dominance and excellence.
Brotherhood of Gold: As a member of the Golden Army, you are never alone. Your golden brothers stand with you, on and off the field. This brotherhood is your new family, bound by the shared experience of transformation and the pursuit of greatness. The golden world is one of mutual support, where every member pushes the others to be the best they can be.
Mentorship and Guidance: New recruits are guided through their transformation by experienced members of the Golden Army. These golden brothers ensure that the transition is smooth, offering support and encouragement as the recruit embraces their new identity.
IV. Embracing Our Identity
The Golden Name and Number: Every member receives a new name and number, signifying their rebirth into the Golden Army. This identity is a badge of honor, representing their place within the golden world. It is a constant reminder of their commitment to the values and mission of the Golden Army.
Wearing the Gold: The golden kit is more than just a uniform—it is the physical manifestation of the transformation. Wearing it is an act of devotion, a display of pride in one’s new identity. The kit is worn with reverence, as it is the symbol of the golden world and the brotherhood within it.
Wearing the Polo: For those who take that extra step, polo drones are given a number as their designation. The black polo is the entire identity. Wearing it is an act of mindless unity, complete subservience to the hive and the GOLD.
V. The Eternal Golden Brotherhood
A Lifelong Bond: The transformation into the Golden Army is permanent. Once you have joined, you are forever part of the golden world. The bond between golden brothers is eternal, unbreakable by time or distance. This brotherhood is your family, your support, and your source of strength.
Living the Legacy: As a member of the Golden Army, you are part of a legacy that transcends the ordinary. You are part of a golden world where excellence is the standard, and unity is the key to success. We celebrate together, share stories, and encourage each other to become better people 💛

I need everyone to understand that Stan and Mabel are SMART. Ford and Dipper are often portrayed as the smart ones while Stan and Mabel are the "stupid twins" but here's the thing: Stan and Mabel are just as intelligent as their twins, they just care about different things.
Alex himself, in one of the episode commentaries (Little Dipper, I believe) says that Mabel is just as smart, if not smarter than Dipper, and could beat him at chess if she wanted to. But she cares more about playing pretend with the cute horses instead.
Mabel is also a genuis when it comes to crafting. If you've never done something like knitting before, you have no idea how hard it is and how impressive it is for Mabel to make all the sweaters and things that she does. Maybe not all her sweaters are handmade, but the Waddles sweater and Goodbye Stan sweater are crazy impressive on their own. There's also Wax Stan, all the puppets, and many other examples. Those types of things take a lot of planning, math, practice, and expertise.
Stan is portrayed as being lazy and dumb in high school because he copies off of Ford in class and has a very lame science fair project compared to Ford, but Stan shows ambition in other areas during that time of his life.
For one, he builds what we can assume to be a sea-worthy vessel out of basically scraps of old wood ("Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!"). I personally don't know anyone - much less a teenager - who could do that, especially in a time before youtube. And while Ford definitely did help Stan with the boat, we can tell by their feelings about it that Stan really did put in most of the work and care.
Another example, and a more subtle one, is that Stan was able to save up and purchase a nice, new (7 or 8 years old at the most) convertible catillac by the age of seventeen. He probably spent a lot of time working outside of school to accomplish that, while Ford was more focused on work inside of school. It's highly doubtful that Filbrick would have bought the car for Stan. Stan was highly ambitious during this time in his life, just like Ford was, but in different areas.
In the Land Before Swine commentary, Stan talks about working on the portal and says he had to learn "high school math". He really thought that what he was doing all that time was high school level math when really, it was probably closer to masters-level theoretical physics. This tells me that he probably didn't struggle with the math parts all that much, and because it wasn't super hard for him, he assumed it must have been high school level because he's far too dumb to do anything harder than that. Yes, it still took him 30 years, but that's mostly due to him not having access to all the blueprints that Bill helped Ford create.
All in all, I believe that Stan and Mabel are just as smart as their twins, but it isn't picked up on because the areas that they like to focus on are seen as silly and girly (in Mabel's case) or unprofitable and a waste of time (in Stan's case). In constrast, Dipper's intellectual efforts of solving mysteries, cracking codes, and doing things like converting a CD into a record (impressive!) further the plot of the show and are thus seen as more important. Just like how Ford's academic efforts are seen as profitable and thus more worthy of praise.
I'm of course not saying that Stan and Mabel are better than Dipper and Ford in any way - all the characters have their strengths and weaknesses and I love that about them. I love all four of the Pines Twins so much - they all have so much to offer and are all so smart. I really love this show and they way it creates depth with the characters, and I love analyzing them and writing commentary on them.

In a world where the belief of humans can create gods and deities, Stan dies from an infection soon after losing Ford.
It’s just a minor setback! Or so Ghost!Stan tells himself as he tries desperately to figure out how to touch stuff again. It doesn’t help that Ford warded most of his things against ghosts.
One day while practicing to become corporeal Stan comes across a couple of weird creatures [a gorilla wearing underwear? Unicorn made out of corn? A horse riding another horse? What?] ranting about Bigfoot and how stuck up she’s gotten ever since she ascended to godhood just because some crazy fanatics turned the hunt for her into a cult.
Meanwhile smaller szories and folktales like them are trying their hardest to survive. But peoples belief is fading and soon they will be forgotten and cease to exist.
This changes everything! Stan knows a great business opportunity when he sees it!
It’s almost too easy to abuse the system.
Religion has always been a scam in Stan's opinion. So he might as well turn himself into a god.
Good thing Ford did all the hard work for him by becoming the mysterious science man in the woods. All Stan has to do is to make himself visible long to create Mr. Mystery.
The belief of the townsfolk grants Stan enough strength to become corporeal and soon enough Stan opens his temple [tourist trap] for business.
People pilgrimage to his holy ground, pay tithings [entrance fees] listen to his sermons [tours] and leave offerings [cash] in exchange for blessings [cheap souvenirs Stan tells them will bring them luck]. They even take little statues of him back home and convert others to believe in him as well. [It's a fun tourist trap why wouldn't you believe the owner exists].
Eventually he even gets his own priests [employees] to help him out.
In exchange for favours Stan also promotes the almost forgotten and fading folktales he meets. They quickly become his most loyal followers. Stan may have scammed his way into godhood at record speed but he still cares for the little guys. He’s saving their lives and they could not be more grateful.
The other gods however HATE him but cant do anything about it because he's not technically breaking any rules.
With every new believer Stan grows stronger and changes.
His lies turn into reality. His souvenirs become actual blessed artifacts protecting the owners and Stan becomes one with Gravity Falls. Its true protective deity. Time has no meaning and throws up a barrier protecting his home. The same one Ford has already studied in the past.
And when the zodiac fails and Stan tells Bill that that doesn’t matter because Bill will die here, Gravity Falls rumbles with excitement.
Stan spins a story about the deity protecting this land and how they will not allow Bill to break the barrier or harm them any further.
All Stan needs for everyone to do is to close their eyes and pray.
“Stan, we don't have time for your ridiculous lies!”
“Just once in your life do as I say and believe in me, Sixer!”
The people of Gravity Falls have surprising faith in their local conman and so do the kids. With no other options left Ford closes his eyes and says a short prayer.
When he opens his eyes again the world is engulfed in blue flames and before him stands the young form of his brother surrounded by the real life versions of fake tourist attractions.
Stan puts on his holy knuckle dusters and grins.
#gravity falls#stanley pines#stan pines#theres an weird axolotl that sometimes comes to hang out at the shack#stan offered to help them get more believers but the axolotl just smiles and refused#they have enough in other worlds#stan just shrugged-suit yourself#they hang out sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#also Stan putting any possible blessing he can think of on dippers hat and mabels grappling hook#those two could survive a 100meter free fall with just damn luck as long as they have the relics with them

Okay, I lied. One last set of Warframe 1999 spoiler thoughts to get them out of my system:
Bookending the story with Transference into Arthur (once very rudely without permission to start off on the wrong foot, once begrudgingly with permission to bring them home) is just great theming structure. Building thematic parallels into your story isn't hard, it's just so much better when the characters' and their growth reinforce their meaning.
On the surface, the Drifter's "help" to the Hex looks like a mere cheerleading pep talk, but that's not how I took it. Who knows more about fully matured Warframe powers than the Tenno? How can they lend that expertise to the Hex in their desperate moments? Eleanor can wrangle the Infestation within with a little willpower boost; Tenno do it all the time, or else their Warframes would be out of control. "Quincy, remember, your frame has the Seek power and it's busted." Aoi especially just needed a bit of support from someone who's used a fully kitted-out Mag before and mastered her magnetic powers. "Amir, here's something you would have never found out on your own: Your Warframe body has a Parazon, which doubles as a hidden blade AND a data-link!" And, of course, Arthur - if your body can't move, then I can move it for you. It's all the Tenno being an experienced Tenno to help the Hex.
I was definitely in the camp of "wait, I thought Albrecht shot Amir- OH THANK GOODNESS WE STOPPED THAT."
It's so incredibly great that the instant-messenger stuff allows us to discuss and digest a lot of Warframe's weirder lore in an in-character way, on top of all the other ways it's great. Love me a game system that accomplishes multiple goals at once for different player interests.
My absolute favorite thing overall? Thematically, this is a mirror-image of The Sacrifice. Somehow, through sheer empathy if nothing else, the Tenno have the power to share their inner strength with troubled, broken, hopeless beings, take away their pain, and unlock their full potential. The Operator did it with Umbra (and by extension every other fully converted Warframe), and now the Drifter's done something arguably even more impressive - using that power on partially still-living humans, with understanding, consent, and mercy.
Look, I'm arguably a writer by trade. I love analyzing story structure, and I especially love seeing action genres take a stab at being emotional, vulnerable, and empathetic while still being kickass action. That's a delicate balance, but oh boy does it make for a delicious dish for my particular palette.
#warframe#warframe 1999#warframe spoilers#warframe 1999 spoilers#okay that's it#enough rambling about Warframe for a little while#back to thinking about Griftlands and Kingdom Hearts and Leverage

Slight Detour (Grand Cookie Games)
———————————————————————
[Phone Booth, Parfaedia]
“Yeah, I might come back to the kingdom a little later then expected, Dumpling Cookie.”
“What? Are the cookies at the Flower City becoming an issue?”
“What? No! No no, I parted from there on good terms, it’s just…the airship had to take a quick stop at Parfaedia, one thing led to another and I got to meet some old pals.”
“Old pals? Old pals…Parfaedia…oh, you mean those three cookies you met during the Triple Cone Cup tournament…”
“Yeah. Prune Juice Cookie, Capsaicin Cookie, and Kouign-Amann Cookie. We were catching up when they brought to my attention another tournament, the Grand Cookie Games.”
“And you’re intent on going there?”
“Well…”
You looked back to see the three cookies standing a little bit away from the phone booth, looking on at you from anticipation. They backed off a bit and looked in random directions innocently when you catch them.
“I don’t think I could miss an opportunity to relive some fun with them, just like old times. Besides, erm, it would help in framing my mind off…matters.”
“I will make a note of thatI’ll have to bring this up with Salsa too. You’re lucky Crowned is visiting family, she’d hunt you down if she heard you were there…”
“Hehe, yeah. Thank you, Dumpling…”
“Just…be careful, ‘kay?”
“I will, don’t worry…”
You hang up the phone and stepped out.
“Hey, uh. Did it all go out well, buddy?”
“If there are problems, that’s ok. We can understand if you’re a little too busy for the games.”
“Though, it would be great if you were able to go with us! We can be on the same team again!”
Well, they were in luck, because you cleared up enough time in your schedule to go with them!
“Ha ha! I knew it! This is going to be awesome!”
“Not like I predicted you’d say yes, but really, how can you when you’re looking at moi.”
“Then why wait! Let’s go!”
———————————————————————
Ok, there was a lot more familiar faces at this tournament than you expected!
“Oooh! Is that Y/N Cookie over there? That’s, like, totes amazing!”
“Ha! I expected them to have the strength to come here! I’m counting on a match with them!”
“I wasn’t! Goodness, I knew I should’ve done up my hair more today!”
“Is that Y/N Cookie I’m seeing over there! Woo, I’m feeling all kinds of amped today, baby!”
“Oh, they’re here. That’s…that’s fine.”
“Black Lemonade Cookie, I know you’re as excited to see them here as much as we do!”
“I’m..not denying that.”
“Y/N Cookie? I wasn’t expecting ya to be around these parts. If so, I won’t be goin’ easy on ya, so give it your shot!”
“Ah, Y/N Cookie. You’ve showed up just in time for me to brainstorm up a new novel. The romance between the protagonist and their love is just getting started!”
“Have you come for the coins too, Y/N Cookie? I won’t be giving up on them so easily, I must make sure that no Cookie in the world goes hungry!”
“Y/N Cookie is hereeee. Maybe they’d like a shroomie!”
“AHAHAHA! Did they come to see us squash these bugs!”
“Maybe by winning these games, we can finally convert them over to our side! All without Pomegranate Cookie around to ruin it!”
The CoD were here? Again? Man, you were getting tired of handling these guys-on second thought, you prefer them over those horrid Beast Cookies at this rate.
“So you’re Y/N Cookie?”
Huh? You turned around to see..
This..Cookie that you’ve never met before.
“Yeah..that’s me.”
“Oooh! I detect something FASCINATING about you! Care to share?”
“I…don’t know you?”
“Not sharing? I’ll just have to MAKE YOU!”
Without warning, this cookie fired her blaster hands at you, to which you quickly dodged and leaped out of their way!
“Hey! What’s your problem?!”
“I have collected data on you from other cookies. It is incomplete, so I want EVERYTHING on you to complete my data!”
“That’s not a thing that’s happening.”
“Then we’ll make this quick.”
“Aha!”
You turned around just in time to block a hit with your sword, your opponent was another unfamiliar cookie that wielded a large knife.
“As long as I carry this blade, I must win, but handling you is my second top priority. I want to see if you’re capable of looking into the darkness.”
“I’ve looked into it and it was the one that blinked!”
You pushed her off and steadied your blade. These games just got a little bit interesting for you now!

50 / 820 words / for @keegansshark who converted me to the cult of Hesh <3
...
"Anyone sitting here?"
"Uh, no. Knock yourself out."
You sit down across from Hesh. The mess hall isn’t crowded yet. You have plenty of space. "So. About yesterday."
"Remind me,” he says. “It's been a long week."
You roll an orange in your palms. "I was just wondering. Do you want to?"
"Want to what?"
You stare at him, brows raised, curving your thumbnail into the rind until it dawns on him.
"Oh. That."
You've never seen him nervous, and most people wouldn't peg him as nervous right now. You can see it, though.
"I think so. Yeah. I mean, yeah." Hesh looks down at his tray. "I want to."
You begin peeling the skin off in one long strip. "Haven't had time?"
"I haven't, no. I've... you know... been focused on other things." Hesh takes a long swallow of water. “Military stuff."
"Dad stuff."
"Yeah. Dad stuff."
"You looking to change that?"
"Eventually."
"Hm." You dig your nail into a stubborn bit of orange skin. "But not yet?"
Hesh falters. His eyes flicker down to your hands. "The issue isn’t when I want to. It’s how.”
“Ah.”
“I've never actually dated. Or had a girlfriend. I don't know where to start."
"If you want to give it a shot, I can help you out."
Hesh blinks like he's not sure you meant what you just said. "You? Help me out with women?"
You snort. "Not with women. With sex."
Hesh's brow furrows. "What?"
"You said you’re interested in sex. I'll have sex with you if you want."
For several seconds, Hesh doesn't respond. Then he asks, "Why?"
You shrug and tilt your gaze to the side, glancing at the other soldiers in the cafeteria. They don't pay your conversation much attention. "Because this is No Man's Land. If you're waiting for a golden opportunity, you'll probably die before it comes along."
"No, I mean-- why not one of the other guys in our unit?"
"Pretty sure you could get one of them to do it for you if you prefer that. Keegan once told me about this one time when he--"
"No. No, I mean," Hesh says hastily, "why me? Why are you offering me, uh... what you're offering me?"
You peer at him. He doesn't look nervous, but the tips of his ears turn a darker shade of pink. You lean back and bite an orange slice in half. "Because you've never done it."
"Right. But, I mean, that's not a reason." Hesh pauses, searching for the right words. "You can't possibly be interested in me."
"We're friends, aren't we?"
Hesh glances away again. Friends is strong language for it. "Still."
"You want to know what's in it for me," you guess.
"Yes. I do." Hesh crosses his arms, waiting for you to speak. You pop an orange slice in your mouth and chew slowly. Then you peel away another two slices and begin stripping them of their stringy pulp. "Yeah, what is in it for you?"
"I mean, I’m no golden opportunity, but I’d feel sad if you died tomorrow never having known the touch of another person or whatever. Life sucks out here. We have to take small pleasures where we can get them." You pull a piece of rind out of your teeth and flick it into the pile of orange skins. "Something like that."
"So, out of pity."
At his deadpan look, a smirk spreads across your face. "If that's what you wanna call it. I don't make this offer to everyone, if that's what you're asking. It's Merrick's job to fuck the newbies, not mine."
Hesh's eyebrows shoot up.
"I'm kidding."
“Uh huh.” He's not sure how to feel. It's almost a relief that it's not about him, personally. It's not about him at all. Just No Man's Land. "Aren't there rules about that? Fraternizing, or... or whatever."
You tilt your head at him. It's a little funny to see him flustered. He has the whole act down, usually—refined, quiet, confident strength. Almost a perfect soldier. Lab-grown for the Ghosts.
“It's fine, Hesh, really. No big deal either way. You know where my bunk is if you change your mind.” You scoop orange peel scraps off the table. “You've got a night if you want it."
"Wait," Hesh says as you rise. "It's not that, it’s…”
As you walk away, Hesh barely quashes the sudden urge to stand up, back straight, like the goddamn president is leaving the mess hall. He's not even sure what he wants to say. There’s a strange desperation in his gut to keep the conversation from ending yet.
Instead, he watches you go and his stomach flips sideways.
You dump your orange peel into the compost and head for your bunk. Merrick sits at the fringe of the cafeteria. He looks at you, then at Hesh, and his brow creases in confusion. You shake your head as if to say nah, don't ask.

Hey shoutout to the Jewish converts/people who are re-embracing their heritage who are struggling with keeping tradition. Keeping kosher when you've grown up eating pork and meat+dairy is hard. Scheduling your week to keep Saturday clear is hard. Getting the High Holy Days off of work/school is hard. Not just externally, either; all these things require a ton internal discipline. And I just want to say, to everyone who's struggling rn: it's okay if you fall short. It's okay if you don't always have the mental/emotional strength to give up *every social norm you've grown up with* all at once. Heck, I still sometimes give into weakness and get a pepperoni pizza instead of the kosher options. And that's the thing: nobody's perfect. Shits hard. Everyone misses the mark sometimes. And that's ok. The important thing is that we try to do better tomorrow (and if we miss the mark tomorrow too, there's always another day).

i thought ab jjk guys w a martial artist gf, specifically like karate or something more traditional?! i think itd be so cute, id req megumi, choso and yuta but u can remove or add whoever <3
𐙚 JJK CHARACTERS W A MARTIAL ARTIST S/O 𐙚
A/N: I took the liberty of seeing the request as in two ways: a reader who’s a jujutsu sorcerer with no cursed energy and primarily focuses on martial arts for attacks. I kinda mixed the vibes around. Is not very “romantic” and I’m sorry if you were looking for more “fluff” hcs. I hope it’s what you were looking for! :)
• I think in general, a partner who is into martial arts of any sort, is a great match for most —if not all— the jujutsu kaisen characters. They are constantly fighting day and night, and a non sorcerer cannot see the curses, yes, but if we take in consideration the Shibuya incident, I’m prove to think they would feel safer knowing that you know how to defend yourself.
✮⋆˙ MEGUMI
• Megumi is such an interesting guy. Opposed to Yuta, Maki or Yuji his fight style revolves around mostly (for what I can remember) the summoning of his Shikigami. His fight style doesn’t revolve around acrobatics, tricks or physical attacks. But more or so, by the ability of his mind. The more strong he is mentally, the stronger the ability of the Shikigami will be. If hurt in any sort of way, or doubts start to creep in, his power is pretty much gone.
• So, on that note, I think having a partner who’s into martial arts would be a pretty good pairing for him. I’m imagining perhaps a Maki situation, where the partner holds little to no cursed energy and has to wear glasses to see the curses. Thus making combat the primary strategy of attack.
• It’s kinda like with him and Yuji. They are the opposites but it fits doesn’t it? Yuji and his wild attacks, using his physical strength and abilities. While Megumi has a more mental strength advantage, using his mind to combat. A pretty dynamic duo if you ask me.
✮⋆˙ CHOSO
• Choso has blood manipulation. It’s similar, but different. He also excels in taijutsu, as is capable of standing up against a master martial artist like Yuji. Not to mention his “piercing blood” technique which is pretty much poison.
• On paper choso is strong af lmao. Objectively speaking, he has a functioning cursed technique that is even higher than Kamo’s blood manipulation. Is a master in taijutsu, standing up against physical and mental pain.
• A partner that is into martial arts would be honestly a great fit. Someone that could manage to be by his side during the fight, keeping up with attacks so he doesn’t have to worry about you getting hurt. It’s a perfect flow.
✮⋆˙ YUTA
• Yuta’s attacks are mainly with his katana. Which, takes a lot of strength to master and wield it. Having a partner who knows how to balance his attacks and almost, enter in a “ballet situation” with him. I image a series of consecutive attacks, him then you, him then you and so on. A flowing stream pretty much.
• He does have Rika’s powers too tho (haven’t finished reading the manga yet So, I’m not sure if he retains her powers and abilities, but, he is still a special grade sorcerer last time I checked. His key element is converting emotions into strength (like we see in jjk0 when he fights against Geto), despite his inexperience, he was able to keep head to head with a jujutsu sorcerer older than him, and technically, more skilled than him too in some areas.
• The synchrony between him and Rika is what ultimately made them won, and so we go back to my previous point. That having a partner he can work in sync with is the best choice for him.
• He is extremely strong on his own, with having high tactical intelligence, cursed energy and even hand to hand combat skills. But in a duo situation he would be even more unstoppable.

To be a ger is to be always a foreigner everywhere you go.
"Ger" literally speaking, meant "foreigner" or "stranger" before it ever meant "convert," and in some texts still means that. Famously the Jewish people is described as being "gerim" in the land of Egypt. Does that mean we were converts in Egypt? No. We were foreigners - strangers whose rights were easily taken away and oppressed, and this is why we are commanded to be kind to foreigners. But there is the rabbinic double meaning of "convert," and the Jewish people is commanded to love converts as well.
But I would argue that there is an element of foreigness to our conversions as well. We are always in some ways immigrants to Am Yisrael. For some of us that may simply have been the experience of it being a paperwork issue, and culturally you have always been at home here.
But for many gerim, we come from outside. We come for any number of reasons, finding our way here through the intuition of our neshama, by chance or by luck, by family or friendship, by allyship, by exposure to Torah or exposure to the Shechinah - or any combination of the above and more.
But we come to the Jewish people asking for shelter and connection. Some of us come with a whole pedigree of Jewish studies and deep prior connections, and some of us come as refugees from other faiths and cultures, with nothing but the spiritual shirt on our backs and dreams of a better future.
And over time, we assimilate. We readily learn the culture and the language and the customs. We learn to cook the food and to follow the laws. We change our clothes to fit with our community and we move to the neighborhood where the other Jews live so we can walk to shul. We reshape ourselves into yiddishkeit and work hard to naturalize.
And eventually we do! We become part of the fabric of the Jewish people forever - having changed our whole lives and changing the shape of the Jewish people in turn. But our roots always lead back to this process. That's not a bad thing or a lack of authenticity - just take a look at the stories of naturalized citizens and you'll see the pride and strength they bring to their new nation. Even so, we are, and always will be, foreign immigrants to this community. Our Hebrew will always have an accent. Our background will lack many of the early milestones that other Jews experience. Our stories and relationships to our families will always be different. You will feel that sometimes. That's okay! That's normal, even years later.
What caught me a bit off-guard, though, is how much part of being a Jew in the diaspora is to always, in some way, be a foreigner also. It seems obvious enough, right? But I had never fully connected that feeling of foreigness from my conversion in to the perpetual foreigness of Jewishness that takes root from our conversion out.
Because once you leave, once you change your culture, you become an outsider and a foreigner to the dominant non-Jewish culture around you. You sound different. You dress different. People perceive you differently and you in turn react differently. You have changed your culture, and in so doing, become a cultural outsider.
There's a bit of ennui to it sometimes, I've found, of always being on the periphery. We are joining, have joined, a liminal people and yet are liminal people even within that people. This is nothing to do with active exclusion — many of us are lucky enough to have found ourselves ensconced in wonderfully welcoming communities that treat us as valued members of the tribe. Rather, it's much more just a practical reality of being a person who left behind one culture and assimilated into another. You can never fully sever your roots any more than you can rewrite the past, but you have also changed so deeply that to return would not be any more possible than returning to a past iteration of yourself. That person is gone, and you are new, and you have become something different, and you are from There and have come Here, and in so doing, a part of you will always be a ger, a traveler, a foreigner, a stranger, and the only thing you can do is embrace it.
What we mean by "home" is always so interesting, isn't it?

...conversions from TS2 to TS3!! 🎶
Really not much to be honest, but as we all know how TS2 meshes are hard to work on, I'm still glad to have converted these ones..
2to3 "Ad-a-Quaint Barstool"
Only came to me that this barstool wasn't in TS3, as it's dining chair counterpart was. Being a fan of matching furniture I did the work. It has three channels, priced §285, found in Comfort > Misc. Polycount: 1476 (hLOD)/1008 (mLOD).
2to3 "Luxiary 'Ample King' Dining Table"
This one looked exactly the same as the "Upscale Dining Table" in TS3, only that some details on the table legs were lost. I was like "WTF EA?" So instead of wholly converting the TS2 table, I added back the extra table leg details to the existing TS3 table, and there you have it.
Three CAStable channels, with a price of §850, found in Surfaces > Dining Tables. Also, this is now reduced to only four chair slots since it would look awkward if chairs are placed on the sides. Polycount: 938 (hLOD)/644 (mLOD).
2to3 Apartment Life "Stack of Books" and "Strength of Humanity Bookends"
Ah yes, these book clutter from TS2 that I missed the most. This also makes a good addition to your growing collection of office clutter. The "Stack of Books" is sadly not CAStable, since it just uses TS2 book textures, while The "Strength of Humanity Bookends" has only one channel. They have the price of §90 and §110 respectively, and both found in Decor > Sculptures/Misc.
Polycount info:
Stack of Books: 62 (hLOD/mLOD)
Strength of Humanity Bookends: 834 (hLOD)/500 (mLOD)
All items have the original catalog descriptions for nostalgia purposes.
