Someone very clearly and carefully picking their words to communicate to you (general) that the reason that transphobes mistreat/harm/murder trans women is because transphobes consider trans women to be men

IS NOT an admission that the person who is very clearly and carefully picking their words to communicate the position of transphobes to you agrees with the position that transphobes have re: trans women not being women.

The point is that how transphobes perceive trans women does not actually determine a trans woman's actual gender. It doesn't matter if transphobes think that trans women are devient men, because that has no bearing on any trans woman's internal sense of self.

But, it is important to acknowledge that this is the position that transphobes have, because pretending that their motives are something that makes you personally feel less dysphoric (transphobes hate trans women specifically because trans women are women and being a woman means living a life of suffering, so this is affirming in a way) instead of their very clearly and loudly proclaimed motives (trans women are deviant men forcing their way into women's spaces for sexual reasons, while using "woke" rhetoric as a cover for their true and nefarious intentions) actively makes trans women who buy into your wishful thinking motivations theory less safe overall.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but cis women do not generally spend their every waking hour lamenting how their lives are endless suffering because they are women--most cis women do not generally consider being a cis woman to be particularly hard overall as a baseline. They straight up don't think about this shit and if you asked the average cis woman how things are going, she'd probably have some minor complaints about the economy or whatever, but she would not break down and wail about how much suffering she's currently experiencing.

In fact, if you think about it for more than a fucking second, you will find that the only cis women you will generally hear screaming about how life, both as a woman and for women on the whole, is a pit of despair and suffering? Tend to be TERFS and/or cis radfems who hate men in general, and consider trans women to be men.

I promise you do not have to take TERFS at their word that being a woman means to suffer. That you suffering as a result of poor treatment at the hands of TERFS should not be affirming, because those TERFs DO NOT see you as women and are outwardly saying that your existence is contributing to the suffering of cis women, because, again, they do not see trans women as women.

Acknowledging that this is what transphobes think about trans women does not imply agreement with their position, and I am very sorry if that makes you feel dysphoric, but it is, in fact, the truth. Not that you ARE a deviant man, but that this is what transphobes specifically and explicitly believe about you, no matter how much you want to believe that they are mistreating you because you're a woman, and this is affirming because to be a woman is to suffer.

I promise you that you do not have to settle for a life of suffering to appease people who literally do not see you the way you seem to think they must. You don't owe anyone your own suffering! You don't have to give that to them! You can find positive means of affirmation that do not mean that you need to suffer!

Suffering is not proof that you are a woman, it is proof that people want you to suffer and are doing their best to make that happen to you. You do not have to hand that to them on a silver platter. Suffering for the sake of people who want to do you harm is not a cross you have to bear, you can literally just tell anyone who thinks that you can only be a True Woman if you hit some sort of suffering threshold to go fuck themselves.

Acknowledging what transphobes actually think does not mean conceding to their positions, it does not mean that you agree with them, and it will not bar you from being a woman.

If you can acknowledge the truth of how transphobes see you, then you can take steps to better protect yourself and you will spend less of your time trying to get them to see you as "one of the good ones" because look at how much suffering you are experiencing!

No matter how much you suffer, it will not ever get a transphobe to concede that you are a woman, because they do not believe that you are one and never will.

So don't fucking suffer for them! Go find validation from places and people who want you to thrive! Because in the end it doesn't fucking matter if transphobes see you as a man, because their opinions should not matter to you personally.

I have literally never listened to someone rant about how much suffering I'd have to do for them to accept me and thought to myself "gosh, I better get suffering then!" because that's a shitty person being excruciatingly clear about exactly how shitty they are. Why would you wanna be besties with them? Why would you want them to accept you when their opinions about your own humanity and identity are so obviously and patently shit?

They are going to be mad at you whether you are suffering or not, so actively choose not to suffer! It will make them so fucking mad to see you happy and making connections with people who want good things to happen to and for you, so you should pick that option every fucking time, even if it's just out of spite!

Acknowledging that people who want the worst for you have shitty opinions about you isn't agreeing with them, it's just putting some nice big red flags around anyone who insists that if you just suffer enough and throw enough of of the trans people around you under the bus, one day they will be generous enough to invite you into the Secret True Women Only club.

They are lying to you! They just want you to suffer! And pretending that their motives are instead something that feels affirming is only going to guarantee that you suffer, so you need to actively choose not to suffer going forwards! And part of choosing not to suffer? Is making an active choice to not stubbornly insist that anyone who is willing to acknowledge the shitty things that shitty people think about you and people like you is proof that they agree with those shitty people and their positions. Okay first off please don't take this the wrong way I promise I'm not trying to say trans women all have male privilege or something. I think it is perhaps important to consider that while trans women do make up the majority of trans homicide victims, generally (cis) men make up the majority of homicide victims. In 2020 in the US, men made up 82% of victims.

I think trans women being killed more than trans men isn't necessarily because of transmisogyny being so strong or w/e, but a combination of people being more okay with killing people *they view as* men, and because transfems are much more likely to be sex workers than transmascs (though that may be caused by transmisogyny). Gay men are also killed at much higher rates than lesbians, and usually most homophobic rhetoric and laws and tropes are targeting gay men specifically, but I haven't seen this used to say lesbians have it significantly better, or have structural power over gay men, the way I have seen the same used to say that about trans men

Obviously, trans women are not men and trans men are not women, but to transphobes enacting violence, they are. Imo, it's important to keep in mind that transphobes do not actually view trans people as the gender that they are, and this means that the mistreatment of us will mirror the mistreatment of the gender we are transitioning away from, not towards.

I'm not saying that trans men have it worse, or that trans women all secretly have male privilege or something, just that less overt obvious violence towards trans men does not mean we have it significantly better, just as lesbians facing less overt obvious violence does not mean they have it much better than gay men. If you argue that gay cis men have it worse than lesbian cis women because of this, fair enough, that's consistent, but you can't define male privilege as "the privilege men of any group will always have over women of the same group all else being equal" if you do. (Or you could argue cis gay men are also affected by transmisogyny, I guess?)

NSFW alphabet: Vash the stampede

A bit more in-depth exploration of my take on Vash. I’m not TOO happy with it, but it’ll at least flesh him out for the time being, and I can always return to this if I want to clarify some shit later. Hope you enjoy regardless!

A= Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)

Vash is a very good partner for aftercare. He’s always sure to dote and love on his partner after sex, and it doesn’t even have to be rough sex, he’s just always sure to check on his lovers.

B= Body part (favorite on themselves and their partners)

Vash doesn’t really like his own body. He views himself as either a monster or a failure depending on the day, so he hates himself too much for a favorite anatomical part.

Weirdly enough, Vash strikes me as someone who likes his partners eyes more than anything. They’re just so expressive and bright! Full of life!

Vash is a veryromantic man. He’d take his time, he’d lavish you in attention, and he’d be an utter gooball if you let him during sex. Or in general, honestly

Vash barely, if ever, masturbates, honestly. He’s pretty low on the sexual need scale, so the urge doesn’t hit too often.

As I’ve stated on the headcanons, Vash is pretty okay with being called a slut, but when you dip into using ‘pathetic’, ‘worthless’, and other harsh, non-sexual insults to describe him, he’s not much of a fan. Tis the horrible self image.

While Vash is a very accomodating for his lovers with a lot of fantasies, one thing he won’t play into is anything like step-brother, daddy, mommy, anything family-related.

God help you if you’re at all aware of Knives in any recognizable way, because Vash sure as fuck won’t feed into that lmao.

Vash doesn’t mind either way on whether he gets or gives oral. It feels good to get, and it makes him feel good to give, so either way works for him.

If he had to pick a preference though, he’d definitely go with giving rather than getting.

Vash’s pace very much depends on his lover’s preference. When left up to him, he’s pretty medium though.

Honestly, Vash kind of prefers quickies. They give him an excuse to not strip entirely and it gives him a thrill to be so desired that you don’t care about getting caught.

Vash is a bit middle-of-the-road on risks, admittedly. He’s not that easy to kill or really hurt, so he’s fine with being the guinnea pig if you want to try cutting him or menacing him with a gun.

He’s a little less eager to be risky when you ask him to choke you until passing out or something.

When it comes down to the risk of being caught, he’s actually shockingly into it, so long as it’s a risk exclusive to when he’s mostly dressed.

S= Stamina (How many rounds can they go?)

Thanks to being a plant and not at all human, Vash has a wonderful stamina! He can run through the desert for an entire day, and he can go multiple, multiple rounds in bed.

T= Toys (Do they have them? Do they use toys on themselves or partners?)

Vash loves to use toys on his partner. Especially if it saves him having to expose his scars and whatever he deems ‘ugly’ about himself.

if you let him, he'd use an array of toys on you, in some pretty creative ways.

U= Unfair (Do they like to tease?)

While Vash is a very playful man, and he’ll edge you if asked, he tends to not tease too much.

That being said, he’s still a bit of a tease. Whether it’s with simple flirting, or quick touches or the like.

V= Volume (How loud are they? What noises do they make? Etc)

Vash can get a bit noisy if he gets too into it, but for the most part he strikes me as p good at keeping his voice down lol.

W= Wild card (Just a random headcanon about the character)

I aint got nothing sexual, so I’ll just say. I headcanon he and Knives each have odd proficiencies, and Vash’s is his skill for accuracy with projectiles.

Like, even before he honed it to the level its at now, he’s always been weirdly good at hitting targets with thrown shit.

X= X-Ray (What’s going on underneath those clothes?)

He is at least a healthy 6-6.5 inches down there

Y= Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)

Sad to say to all the vash girlies, but I don’t imagine he has a high sex drive.

I lean towards he’s likely demisexual, so I don’t entirely see him being a hoe regardless. In situations where he is one, I imagine he can go years upon years between hook ups.

He’s like a crocodile in that way lmao.

Z= Zzz (How quickly do they fall asleep after?)

Vash technically doesn’t even really need to sleep regardless of activity beforehand, so I imagine it’s a bit hit or miss with him.

Some nights he takes a few hours to sleep, others he’s out like a light, basically on command.

Hear me out because I have a vision:

Barbara- centric hacker movie. (Barbara-centric, not Birds of Prey for this one.) Like not a dc adaptation, a hacker movie that's an AU. Fair warning: I understand nothing about how hacking works.

Barbara is a thirty-five years old bisexual overqualified librarian. Every time someone asks her why she works in a library and if she's never bored she replies she likes the quiet and the books, but we see, on her work computer, that she's always reading like one science article one philosophy book and news article etc at the same time to stay stimulated; she also has several degrees and on screen we see notes of her working on p=np because it'd be funny. On a date, we see her hint that she likes that the library is calm because she gets excitement from her nightlife.

The nightlife in question: Her hacker name is of course Oracle. At first, she learnt how to code because she was bored, and then she got invested in the secrets she could unravel, but her real entry into cyber activity happened after she hunted down the identity of the man responsible for the stray bullet that paralyzed her during a shootout and framed him for tax evasion. This isn't like, the heart of the story or anything, just a little flashback to explain her motivation and how hacking helped her regain her self-confidence and grow around it. That part was cut in the final version of the movie because it was very very long but Barbara's actress and those who have seen the director's cut agree it's an important context for her characterization.

The movie is about her uncovering a fucked up ploy by the government to cover up an industrial catastrophe that's already killed hundreds, and continuing to poison people because they're burying the proof so that the industry can carry on for profit. It becomes even more complicated when she finds out not only is this a corrupted government officials issue, but the cia is involved because of the potential interest of whatever chemical is being produced in this factory as a weapon, so it's one woman against the giants of this world.

Thankfully, Barbara isn't truly alone in everything. She has or builds close relationships through the movie, such as:

-Dinah: her old highschool friend with whom she had lost contact, but Dinah doesn't know that at first: she's down on her luck (lost all her money+ scum boyfriend after scum boyfriend, etc.) and Oracle calls her and offers a sketchy job. (She cuts into the funds of some billionaire to do this, highjacking the dumb algorithm he made for tax evasion.) She calls Barbara her conscience and Jiminy (her own conscience is perfectly efficient and still she says that). Barbara is always calling her on an old kind of phone because she doesn't like technology. Barbara calls her "My hands, my eyes, my heart". Around the last third to fourth of the movie, at the start of the build-up to climax, we have the famous "Barbara...call me Barbara moment", except after that the scene continues and they fuck, like you don't see everything but it's not fade to black either, Dinah's mouth on her neck, hands untying clothes, fingers trailing across the other's skin drenched in water from the pool, the classic cliche fingers intertwining, dramatic music, and then we can fade to black.

-Dick: a 25 years old bartender with an inability to keep the same job for more than a couple of months who is haunted by the death of his parents in a circus accident when he was a kid. They start to date because she's investigating his parents' involvement in her case (they were killed to stifle down whistleblowing), I don't want them to kiss in the movie just they're clearly starting dating and then he wakes up alone in her bed and thanks to some adequate plot excuse Dick finds the file about his parents and falls to his knees. I want a scene where he's kneeling at her feet, devastated (idk if crying or not, director's choice) and she's trailing her fingers in his hair and asks him if he wants to help her get him his revenge and he looks at her with so much grief and devotion and says he'll do anything. After that moment they don't really break-up (esp since they weren't officially together) but their relationship has shifted, there's a form of affection/care/devotion but it's less romantic than the cute dating from the beginning (but no less weirder or intense). The music for them is not when she brings him back to her apartment but when he's kneeling at her lap because that's where the climax is.

> I'm not sure who more to include but I'm considering versions of Cassandra Cain, Helena Bertellini or Selina Kyle. Keep in mind that these are civilians in a hacker movie, more than having meta abilities or insane hero skills they need to be smart, brave, motivated af with a bone to pick, trusting in Oracle and generally normal people (though a reasonable measure of Selina's b&e skills certainly wouldn't hurt.)

> They find help in allies amidst doctors/scientists trying to study the apparent epidemic (but the research is being pushed down), maybe Talia al Ghul and Barry Allen?

> In any case I want Barbara to be badass and flawed in a way that's like kinda a bit morally grey, but it's not in a "everyone's a bit of a villain here"; there's a scene in the movie where Oracle is blackmailing a corrupt guy into double-crossing the cia for her and he's like 'you think you're so much better than me" and Oracle is like "oh, it's terribly easy to be better than you, I don't even have to be good."

Anyway the scandal is released and there are protests and justice stuff and they win. I'm not sure how the story ends for Barbara, maybe the last shot is her at the library working on her equations as if nothing had happened but with a tiny floating little smile, maybe she disappears mysteriously from everyone's life leaving a shadow and they're all wondering what she's up to now and why she left (leaving ground for a potential sequel that might never live up to the original) Dick is reflecting about how she changed his life forever and the last shot is Dinah thinking about the way she's missing the part of her soul that was whispering in her ears, etc.

The movie gets released in the theatres etc for a little less than one week before it's cancelled and forbidden forever because of some concerning similarities between the plot and some existent factories that somehow made it to the big screen without anyone noticing, however the movie is already circulating, it's all over the internet, grainy footage from the theatre, leaked bits from the director's cut (not the final cut remember), alleged snippets from the original script appearing on forums, etc. It's too late.

Idk, just- Barbara centric hacker movie. "Any similarities to real life circumstances is purely accidental" type of stuff.

Don't want to get your hopes up and all but I am 12k in for chapter 8 of Honey and Lemon and I don't hate what I have written so far. It is still a long ride until I finish and edit but I just wanted to let you know.

guys i freaking did it fraeking did self therapy so i could edit this ritsu into the image, ensemble stars CAN be good for your mental health see! This was just so freaking ritsu-core I had to sit down and hardcore speedrun through trying to process some trauma so id stop getting flashbacks during this, its uh, not 100% BUT my flashbacks decreased in severity and frequency enough i could finish the piece without making myself miserable explanation for what i did below

Id do a below the cut thing but i cant figure out how that works so sorry for the long post but i figured i should share it since it provided me relief so freaking fast-? (again im not cured but ...it helped.)

(I sat down, processed my trauma by going over what i learned from my traumatic experience and not shying away from the things i wanted to avoid because well they were making me have flashbacks, carefully going over what i learned from it in detail that allowed me to regain some control over how the situation affected me and how i handle situations going forward and how it changed my view of the world, and then i went over in detail how i would handle it if a similar situation came up and what little i can actually do to prevent it, while also assuring myself that its okay that theres a certain degree of uncertainty but that its a very rare and unlikely thing for that to ever happen let alone multiple times in my life and ill probably never encounter it again, and since i took my brains concerns seriously, it seemed to be more willing to actually let me believe that this time. I feel ...so much better and like a weights been lifted. I cant believe i just freaking did all this becasue i needed to make a meme so bad but honestly im so proud of myself, worth it. definitely reccomend it, I really wish someone had told me sooner that telling yourself what you learned from a situation and making it part of an uplifting narrative and that kind of thing is in fact, what it means to process trauma and that theres actually a definition for that and its not just wait around and hope your brain unfricks itself. i have a lot of work left to do on myself but i feel so much better... thanks to original poster for making a meme so good i had to make my own ver-)
