Alright, I need to ramble. I'm putting it under a cut for potential DATV spoilers. There's also a peek at an OC I've mentioned once or twice before but never shown, if that interests you.

In light of how the Varric and Solavellan plotlines turn out in DATV (badly), I'm considering just scrapping Amaris, my original/canon Inquisitor. I know I've mentioned it once or twice before, but I did at one point make a second Inquisitor to romance Dorian (I also had Amaris romance Cullen and Iron Bull in different playthroughs, but neither interested me as much as Dorian or Solas.) I think maybe I'll go back and replay the series sometime next year, and I'll just make him my Inquisitor instead.

The biggest thing is he'll probably need a new name. Originally his name was Ilya, which is in the same family tree as Elias. Though, come to think of it, my only two male OCs having names from the same source is kinda funny, so I might just keep it.

Anyways, yes, this is really being influenced by the fact I made him in Veilguard's character creator earlier and I just kinda went "oh 🥺 i miss him"

Gil-Galad origin theories ranked from my favorite to least favorite

1. Son of Aegnor & Andreth - Not supported by canon at all but still the most fun & angsty idea. I also just love Aegnor & Andreth and think Gil-Galad being their son would at least bring them the comfort that them falling in love, despite how tragically their story ended, was worth it.

2. Son of Fingon + Telerin wife - I think we need to let Fingon be an a-hole more often. A Fingon who’s willing to kill his wife’s own people for Maedhros is so delicious. Gil-Galad could go live with Cirdan because it reminds him of his mother’s home.

Fingon + Sindarin wife is honestly less interesting to me (I’d put it on the same level as Son of Orodreth). Without the element of betrayal, it’s not as appealing.

3. Is actually Finduilas - I saw a blonde Tolkien woman dressing up as a man before & fighting and I loved it. Let it be done again.

4. Descendant of Feanor - Whether Gil-Galad is a son of Maglor, Caranthir, Curufin, or one of the canonically unmarried brothers, I’ll always eat it up. Celebrimbor carried Feanor’s creative legacy, but another descendant of Feanor becoming the great King that Feanor was unfortunately never able to be would be awesome.

5. Son of Dior & Nimloth (Is actually Elured or Elurin) - Love to see it! While I’m not a huge fan of Thingol & his family, a King with no Noldorin ancestry choosing to lead the Noldor onto a brighter path despite his own bad experiences with them is actually quite fun.

6. Son of Orodreth - It’s ok, it’s fine, it’s not the most interesting, but it’s not bad either. There’s a fair deal of angst I guess, which I like. It also just causes a lot of confusion though, and not in an interesting way. I also like Angrod so Gil-Galad being his grandson is a plus for me, but Finduilas pulling a Mulan is just so much more fun.

7. Son of Finrod & Amarie - NO THANK YOU!!! It’s boring, it’s uninspired, it holds less weight than being Orodreth’s son does. NEXT!

8. Son of Russingon (biological) - I personally don’t like the idea of making one half of a mlm ship ⚧️ just so they can have bio kids together, but no hate to the ppl who enjoy this version.

Adopted son of Russingon? I love it, but I actually rarely see this version. (I’d also put this one around the same level as Son of Orodreth but before Fingon + Sindarin wife)

9. Is actually any character that died (besides Finduilas) - It just doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t want an amnesiac Fingon or Feanor, sorry. It takes away from the emotional impact that those 2 deaths have on their loved ones, particularly the impact they had on Maedhros. Finduilas only works for me because 99% of her loved ones like Orodreth & Gwindor are dead.

i think mental illness is not talked about nearly enough in this niche subset of the undertale community.

and i mean about a few folks! specifically rurik, goth, palette, and lotus.

rurik first cos hes my babygirl 💙 rurik has been confirmed to have ptsd. thats a life altering disorder. one cannot just take some pills and be rid of it like you can with some ear infection.

ptsd is a serious disease, and i think instead of it being swept under the rug, it should become a forefront of his character. i want to see him recover. genuinely recover and not just some "he just got over it " bs ykno? i want to know how it makes him feel, i want to see the decisions he makes because of the disorder. how does this illness change him as a person. we do not see much of that regarding his character.

lotus next bc hes my second babygirl 😋. i cant speak on his "cannon" disorder partly because nekophy rarely talked about him as a character (often resulting in folks having to interpret him on their own, and often being... wrong. looking at all the fellpoth folks from the years of 2017 to 2019) and partly becaue she deleted her original account with 95% of her lotus asks. but what i can dig up is he was abused growing up by f!geno and f!reaper. i can dig up that canonically him and rurik had a rough relationship that often ended in physical violence from both parties.

how does this change him as a person? he is such a bland character if im honest. we were given a character ref and told to do what we gotta do. i want to see him fleshed out (although that will probably never happen!) i want to see what illnesses or disorders he has obtained throughout his life, wether it be from childhood or abusive relationships. how does this affect him as a person and how does this affect his relationships with people? that is a question i think we will never know unless you create your own headcannon for it.

goth next cos hes chillin... goth has always been seen as a shy, awkward, man-child who cant do much for himself. i think thats wrong and i dont mind saying that because i personally cannot stand his creator lolol. goth has so much... potential. he is the son of the god of death, he is no baby that needs his hand held throughout life.

now there is one thing i do like about his original character, and that is the effect he has on relationships. in both a poth and duelette universe, he is smitten and doesnt quite know what to do with himself around the people he has crushes on. i can work with that. i suspect he has some sort of personality disorder just from being in this part of the fandom for so long yknow? this is perhaps getting into headcannon territory which i will get into later (maybe)

palette my beloved, he was the first sans i ever laid my little 9 year old eyes on.... he is much more fleshed out as a character than goth or lotus for SURE. however i suspect that there is one thing that is merely. glossed over. and another folk has talked about it.

he's so autistic dude. not a doubt in my mind. i dont even need to put this in the headcannon section because its so hinted at (even if thats not what the creator was aiming towards)

his emotions, him being so "oblivious", just the way he carries himself... autism dude. and i crave it !! i want it !! i want to see this fully implemented into his character and his personality and his relationships. i want to see how this affects him and the others around him. how does due respond to it? what about goth? hell, even rurik? i crave this. i want more

Project Zero: The Guide

Alright, so this is how the universe works-

Something highly important to the lore is hero districts. Now I'm sure you're sitting here wondering, what the hell are these? Well, my good reader, I am glad you've asked! Or were thinking about it lol-

When it comes to hero districts, these are locations around the world which are home to some of the local superheroes - hence the name, hero district. It's quite straightforward once you think about it, but there's a little more to it than that. The districts have a foundation behind them; either historical evidence that predates a current hero (think Norrisville for instance) or were 'created' overtime by the sudden appearance of a hero (this means Danny Phantom-).

Typically, a hero district will keep to themselves; interactions with another district are rare and few between, mostly for the sake of following old customs. No one knows why they exist, but it was considered an act of ill will to interfere with another district's problems- especially when some of them involved literal magic and didn't want other people finding out about it. Though in context of the lore, well, this is going to change. A lot sooner than one might think-

Now obviously, things might be limited via a roleplay blog and especially on tumblr but the difference is: we're trying to have fun here! Trust me, there will be more that will happen behind the scenes.

So now that I've explained hero districts, let's explain what the hell is Project Zero. Honestly, the name hit me out of nowhere buuuttt, the truth is- calling it a project isn't accidental either. The whole thing comes from this... organization which has become interested in creating an elite team of heroes to handle threats that occur nationwide and not just within a specific district.

This is going to have flaws- it wouldn't be a multi-fandom superhero verse without this factor. Due to the pattern that most, if not all, the heroes are literal teenagers... expect conflict. I'm still trying to decide who the main villain will be, or if this is going to come with episodic features and slowly build into something else and trust me, it will get interesting no matter what path we decide to take.

You will see canon villains, but I don't think this needs to be said.

Now that we've got some key information out of the way, let's get to the fun part!

What’s your hot take on something KH related?

My hottest kingdom hearts take is probably that kh3 is better than kh2 in nearly every way. Both of them are incredible games and in my top 3 (with the original too), but to me I think kh3 is much better.

To me the only things that kh2 even has a chance at beating kh3 at are the combat (which is fucking excellent) and the story (but it has some caveats I’ll get to)

First, the combat: it’s flawless, I won’t even lie. My only complaints are that in critical the early game is wayyyy more difficult than the rest of the game. Yes I know that I’m complaining about the hardest difficulty being too difficult, but what I mean is that before you get enough options and get going Sora’s kind of a sitting duck to every enemy except literal shadows. Every single thing one shots or two shots him, and enemies are difficult because you don’t have to proper abilities to crowd control or do single target damage yet. But once you get going then the combat is excellent. The other problem is that it doesn’t explain summons, and to a lesser extent limits, very well. I think almost every casual player has this same problem, being they hardly use limits and summons and mainly only use drive forms, which are much more intuitive. Once you know how to use them they’re insane, but still.

Kh3, however, ALSO has excellent combat. It basically does all that kh2 does well, with drive forms being replaced by formchanges (which while maybe not as fun are definitely more balanced, they’re still really fun though), summons being replaced by links (which I personally prefer, apart from like Ralph they seem more intuitive), and the long combos are back. The only problem I have is that kh3 doesn’t have as many reaction commands. They’re still there, but they’re fewer and far between compared to kh2 where most enemies and practically every single boss had a reaction command, with most of them being unique.

So if kh3 does better the one thing that kh2 unquestionably does perfectly (which is my opinion, apparently Sora feels too “floaty” in kh3 and honestly I don’t even know what that means he feels great to control to me, my favourite combos in kh2 were the ones were sora takes an enemy to the skies, I enjoyed grinding mushroom no.8), how does the other boon of kh2, the story, fare?

Well let me just say that the beginning, middle, and end are ALL incredible. The Roxas prologue might be the best opening to any game ever, the battle of a thousand heartless will never stop being awesome, and the ending is just *chef’s kiss*. But a story has more to it, you can’t have a banger opening then go missing for ten to twenty hours then come back then go missing again for another ten hours. You have to be there throughout. I’m obviously referring to the Disney worlds. They’re honestly chain of memories in terms of story, they’re just lucky that they have incredible combat to back it up. Kh2 started the trend of “just do the movie with sora Donald and goofy in the background” and it’s particularly heinous. Either the original or revisit is just the movie’s plot, and the one I enjoyed more is ALWAYS the one which tells a new story. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but 99% of the time a unique scenario is better.

To use kh3 as an example, we have two worlds whose stories are just “movie but with sdg”, and that’s arendelle and kingdom of corona. In arendelle yeah it’s awful but in kingdom of corona the tangled story is actually really fun I think it’s the 1% that get it right imo. And the toy box and monstropolis scenarios are so cool that it’s actually possible to say that they are canon TO THE MOVIES because they work so well. Also, ALL worlds tie into the game’s plot and they ALL tell you how they relate to the themes of the game. And if you think that Arendelle is just frozen but with sdg if you agree with game theory (which I do) there’s evidence that the story was going to be an original one, about Elsa being tempted by the organisation into being a villain, but sdg convince her not to and that her powers don’t make her evil. But Frozen 2 was coming out soon and disney probably just made them do the first movie almost as a promotion. Anyway, kh3 also puts a little bit of story inbetween each Disney world, so even if you didn’t enjoy the Disney world’s story, you get some story as a reward every time you finish one! A lot of people have problems with the story but personally I don’t see it, I think a lot of that either stems from not being familiar with every game so they have no idea what’s happening, or just not being keen on the cheesy dialogue (newsflash it’s always been this cheesy). Personally I love Kh3’s story and feel it’s a great wrap up on the dark seeker saga, and a great Segway into the lost masters arc.

Now, the biggest thing that kh2 does poorly is world design. It’s been said a million times but kh2 is essentially a bunch of flat corridors between fights. Which is all well and good since the game’s combat is so damn good, but compared to kh1 and kh3 it’s honestly quite sad. Kh1 does it the best, it almost feels like a 3D metroidvania, and you can interact with everything, and kh3 is similarly packed with interactions, but on a massive scale. Kh2 is small scale and you can hardly do anything. Chests are just placed around with little thought to hide them in interesting or hard to reach places, and the only reason to EVER use your movement options outside of combat and getting places faster is to collect puzzle pieces, which umm suck sorry not sorry.

Anyway now time for small things - the gummi ship in kh3 is the only time I don’t want to die while playing the gummi ship, the magic feels SO GOOD in kh3 whereas unless you’re in a drive form it just feels clunky and stiff in kh2, the chemistry between Sora Donald and Goofy feels so much better in kh3 than in kh2, switching between three keyblades is the best thing ever honestly it’s so cool and works really well with formchanges, the three arrows building up to give you formchanges or magical finishers or whatever is way better than the drive gauge, shotlocks are really cool and really fun to use (my only problem is that focus is really hard to build up), flowmotion is so fun to traverse with and can be used to extend combos, the game is just more charming, aaand that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

Honestly I literally just finished kh2 and haven’t played kh3 in a year or two, but still. I really really like kh2 but I just think that kh3 does everything it does badly well and everything it does well at least good or sometimes even better. My personal ranking of the games is 312, but idk it’s so close between all of them. I probably had more fun with kh2, but 1 and 3 was more fun at all times, y’know?

Longtime 911 fandom lurker here. I love your takes and agree with, like, 99% of them but especially the ones regarding the issues since You Know Who took over as showrunner. Sorry for the loooong message incoming but my head has been spinning over something and am curious what you think!

I'll admit that I lost most of my hope that we'd ever see canon Buddie because of things that You Know Who said in interviews, as well as how Buck and Eddie were so distant in 6A. Well, recent episodes, a few BTS snippets and some interviews have me somewhat hopeful again. And let me tell you, Andrew Meyers, who I always perceived as an original Buddie supporter, writing the finale?? For the first time all season, I now think that *something* could happen.

I've seen many caution that we shouldn't expect to see anything happen with Buddie anytime soon, mainly because there has been no real build-up to "explain" the changing feelings but also because other characters have potentially big stories brewing. And I get that, I do. But then I think about how Bobby and Athena quite literally came out of nowhere and zoomed to marriage rather quickly (and this is not dissing them, I l-o-v-e them, but it's how it happened). Similarly, Maddie and Chim's relationship went through the ringer, but we've missed so much of it (for example, break-up off-screen and then they were back together very quickly without us seeing any counseling etc.) Then, of course, Hen and Karen went SIX seasons without proper backstory.

What I'm trying to say is that 9-1-1 has never really been consistent as far as showing deep, sold relationship development. This isn't to say that they can't write good relationships; they definitely can! And in the case of Buddie, you can view things through the years as metaphors and foreshadowing and hints and so forth. But, I think that certain people expect the show to spoonfeed the audience about Buddie, or do some in depth sexuality exploration storyline, and I'm kind of doubtful. To counter the, "Well, they HAVE to explain to the GA how these STRAIGHT men are no longer STRAIGHT!" I could see them waving it away with a, "The actors have such great chemistry, and just like in real life, sometimes you fall in love with a person you don't expect to." And while I adore many things about the show, when they have to juggle schedules, we know that some (*cough*Buck*cough*) end up getting more airtime then others. I do kind of worry that many fans will be disappointed and complain about getting canon Buddie if it unfolds quickly, even though that's really par for the course.

Of course, I could be totally wrong in thinking that anything is going to happen, hahaha, but what are YOUR thoughts? Is it possible that they kind of roll out Buddie in a...not casual but not super obvious big way that many seem to expect? Knowing that the actors' contracts expire after next season and that the show won't go on forever, I could honestly kind of see them just going with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for coming here and sending this long ask and sharing your thoughts! I think Madney is one of the best buildups they've done on the show and I didn't think it moved TOO fast because right when they started is when Doug came back in the later part of s2 and they took a step back at that point. Of course I've had issues with their story since JLH left on maternity leave and they decided to cut Chim out of the show rather than show things from his POV and being loved and supported by the firefam and he and Buck working things out because they were brothers before Maddie ever came around. Plus, after Boston it has felt like 90% of their stuff happens off screen and I hate that! I want to see the deep and hard conversations! But KR struggles (by her own admission) with arc planning, and coming up with plots, and episode pacing and it REALLY shows in the difference with how Madney used to be to how they are handled now. Yes they have less time with JLH but that just means every second you have her should COUNT and yet instead of having her there for important things like being the one on the call when Chim gets abducted to hit those emotional beats she's just...not.

As for Budde, honestly, I could live with a 3rd party confession this season though I'm a little leery of that for several reasons.

The season break gives them time to backtrack when all the homophobes inevitably come crawling out of the woodwork

I am holding out hope that over the season break the show will choose to bring someone new on or Tim will come back because I don't trust KR to tell their story (or anyone's stories honestly) and i want to see things happen on screen. I have my issues with Tim too, but he always had a really good ebb and flow to the episodes and arcs and things didn't drag out but also weren't started and wrapped up in a single episode never to come up or affect anything ever again. (Honestly I think that issue on LS is more about the show having to cater to RL and working everything around what they have to do for Owen)

A lot of the fun of seeing these relationships on TV is the build up! The pining! And I think Buck and Eddie and their love story deserve that, plus it could easily involve lots of fun stuff from the firefam! We could get one of them letting it slip in front of Chim and him struggling with the secret, and the other telling Hen and them ending up as the spiderman pointing meme when they figure out what the other knows. We could get confirmation of the betting pool the 118 has on Buddie, we could get Ravi being SOOO confused because he thought they had been together before and were separated. Like, there is so much FUN they could have with it along with all the Buddie scenes themselves and I think they deserve the time to explore all that.

As for a sexuality awakening/crises storyline I don't think we will really get one, even though it would be nice to see and easily something that they could work in since we know Eddie is in therapy. I personally could live with it just coming up in a conversation between Eddie and Buck or even someone in the firefam. I would LOVE a scene with Eddie and Hen about it actually but I would also accept Bobby in a father/son talk or even Ramon if they want to show him putting in the work to support his son when it's not as easy as offering parenting advice about Chris. If they wanted to do it more lighthearted I could also see it being a scene with Chim and that kicking off the "Chim has a secret to keep and it's killing him but he's gonna do his best to keep it" thing. If we were actually SUPER lucky we could get the 3rd party confession being with Maddie and Eddie, but the time to do that would have been 6x11 but the show couldn't be bothered because they were too busy wedging the Buckley parents into everything and cutting Eddie out of the episode as much as possible 🙃

I think every relationship OG has had has been a little differently told because each of the couples and stories are different and I like that! Bobby and Athena are adults who know what they want and go after it because they both know time can run out when you least expect it. Bobby especially saying she made him feel like he was finally on solid ground was not just adorable but a great peek into how solid their relationship was from the jump. Maddie was skittish and needed time to be by herself and figure herself out but she also needed to see what it was like to have a best friend and fall in love with them because Doug was NEVER her friend. And honestly after seeing Chim and Tatiana, he needed to spend time just being friends with her too and I love how their story unfolded. Hen and Karen start out already married with a kid so we got to see them navigating current struggles together which has been great, but I love that we got a flashback and got to see the start of their relationship even though it wasn't necessarily NEEDED, it was WANTED and one episode was able to show us so much. So I think Buddie also deserve to have something that fits their relationship and as much as I would LOVE a big dramatic scene, I think after some pining and build up with the firefam getting to have some fun shenanigans, that they will fall into this like they do everything together-easy as breathing.

I’ve been pondering why writing has gotten so difficult for me over the past few months, and I think I can break it down into several factors at this point

the first (and potentially biggest reason) is definitely burnout. or I guess betrayal. idk what term to use. but TBB season 2 literally stomped out the drive and passion I previously had while writing MLWTBB. not only did I become consumed with new ideas from all the new content, but Plan 99 straight up crushed me to the point where it’s been hard to return to the series in general. I used to rewatch an episode of the show at least once or twice a week. I rewatched the first season at least 7-8 times. the show was my entire life, literally. and now… I can honestly say, I haven’t rewatched most of season 2. outside of the first five episodes, “Retrieval”, and “Pabu”, I haven’t rewatched any other episodes. I’ve rewatched certain scenes for gif purposes, but that’s it. quite sad, really. I’m disappointed in myself 😞

another reason is loss of a proofreader for my stories. not gonna get into it, but there's currently only (1) person in the entire world who I trust to proofread my work, and they basically wanted a break from the position. and that hurt me more than I thought it would. I had someone regularly reading my stories and giving me feedback, which I needed. not because I had a ton of errors (although sometimes that's true LOL), but because I had a regular reader. someone who was frequently commenting and discussing my stories with me. and I sorely need that. as far as I know, I don't have any regular readers. I've discussed elements of my stories with other friends but... it's not the same. it's like infodumping about a TV show to someone who's never seen it. sure, I'm getting the info out, but when the other person has seen the content too, it's a much more satisfying feeling. I very much desire both validation and interaction in regard to my stories. I've gotten a few nice comments on some of my work before, but... nothing regular. I don't have any "fans" or anything like that. and... it genuinely sucks 💔

which leads me into my next point. which is something I used to tell myself, and I need to start telling myself again. at the end of the day, nobody will ever be as big of a fan of my stories as myself. I originally wrote MLWTBB for me and me exclusively. I literally only started sharing it publicly because Skylar asked LOL. it's easily become one of the highest achievements of my life, and it's nowhere near finished yet. I realized I started becoming more self-conscious about how I write since posting the series publicly, and I can see it in how I currently write compared to back then. that needs to stop. I'm never gonna get anything finished with that mentality. so I seriously need to adjust my mentality about it. I need to go back to August 2021 when I first started writing it and tell myself "idc if anyone else in the world sees this, I'm writing this story for me". so while I strongly desire (and in some cases, need) the engagement and validation from others... nobody else's opinion matters more than my own. and I too often forget that...

so how do I fix all this? well, the last point is pretty self-explanatory. the solution for that is simply to just write. doesn't matter if the quality is "good enough", I just need to get these dadgum stories out of my head and into concrete words. I think that'll help with the first point as well. writing out more of my interpretations of the characters I hold so dear should help deter from any negative thoughts about the current state of the canon (and hold me off until season 3 comes LOL). as for the middle point, I don't think there's much I can do about that, at least when it comes to MLWTBB. however, I've been planning on opening writing requests for literally weeks now, and I think now might be the time to actually do it. that way, I can at least get that feeling of validation for my writing that I so desperately desire.

one other point I think I need to address is entirely on my part, and it's in relation to the engagement factor. I fully acknowledge that more often than not, engagement on fiction is a two-way street. several of my friends and followers are writers themselves, and I see all the content they put out. but to be perfectly honest, I'm more of a writer than a reader. I'm extremely picky about all the content I consume, which means I don't often have the capacity to engage with fanfiction, no matter who's written it. heck, Ham's had a story I've been meaning to read for months now, and I just haven't ever been able to bring myself to doing it. it's nothing personal!! whoever the author is has literally nothing to do with whether or not I engage with something!! I just honestly, really and truly, am not much of a reader. I enjoy rereading my own stuff... and that's about it. although, I've been gifted stories before, and OMG I treasure those so much. but I think that's because those stories were written for me, as a gift, and all gifts are precious to me. so I guess I need to accept the fact that I probably won't get much engagement on my work simply because I don't engage with others. and that's ok. I'm not hurting anyone by doing this (although if this is a problem for you, please let me know, I don't wanna unintentionally insult or hurt anyone 🥺). and maybe someday, I'll actually get the bug up my butt to finally read the things I promised to read haha

so! all this to say, an attempt will be made to relight the writing spark within me so I can continue my beloved MLWTBB and potentially write some fun stuff for the people who request something from me. I've actually already written a thing for a friend as a test for my upcoming requests, and I can't wait to share that one 😁

70 - are you very critical of your own writing? how much do you find yourself editing (either during the writing or after the fact)?

i’m critical for sure (though honestly more so with regard to my original writing than anything i’ve posted on ao3). and i’m definitely an edit as i write sort of person rather than a multiple drafts person, especially for fic. i edit quite a lot, but i hate rewriting wholesale unless i decide to change a plot element or something major like that. i tend to edit a lot as i go, and i’m picky about little things.

90 - do you notice your own voice in your writing style?

absolutely. i glanced through my canon divergent wip to find an example and ended up with this:

He had not literally been formed from cobblestones and canal water and fabric scraps from merchers’ hats lost on the wind, but he did consider the city his only parent worth a damn.

it’s much more eloquent than most of the things i say off the cuff, but “he hadn’t literally [x], but [y]” is definitely an estelle esque sentence structure. i think generally it shows up in sentence structure the most—as you can see, i tend to talk in long sentences, and my writing also has that tendency, especially in narration/description (as opposed to dialogue). in dialogue i actually feel like i’ve improved significantly in terms of distinctive character voices. i used to unintentionally write most of my characters with a voice similar to mine, unless i had a specific reason i wanted to pay attention to their voice and make it distinctive (which mostly happened with villains). the thing that helped me break out of that the most was actually online roleplay.

99 - was being a writer a dream of yours since you were little? or did it spring up when you were older? or is it just a hobby?

it’s definitely been a thing with me since i was little. i’m a storyteller at heart, and i always have been, and from a pretty early age one of the ways i channeled that was creative writing. right now it’s just a hobby, both in terms of original work and fanfiction, but in terms of my original work i really don’t know what the future holds. i think i would like to get published one day, but unless i write some kind of harry potter level megahit or life takes an unexpected turn i don’t anticipate becoming a full time or “career” author for a number of reasons. i once heard the advice not to become an artist unless you couldn’t possibly be happy doing anything else (i’ve heard the same advice applied to academia), and i’ve always considered that very solid advice. but as i said, i do think i want to give publishing a try someday, and i think that makes it a little more than just a hobby, if not exactly a job. ultimately, i’m in it for fun and creativity and the power of language and the characters and worlds in my head.

as someone who has played multiple other games in this sort of genre, prsk definitely is that game which has the most cnesorship by a mile. Like that parechu example from bandori honestly isn't that bad? I think the JP part for the second sentence is better, but EN made the I love you part honestly even more shippy than it was in the original text. And although I haven't played bandori for a long time now, I really don't recall them trying to work around every single usage of the word love or whatever like proseka does.

D4DJ doesn't really do it either, I can maybe think of a couple instances, but the fandom is very small so fan TLs and JP content is pretty hard to come by. Also it's literally like one or two poorly translated lines, you can very much still tell where there's romantic feelings written in because it's left in like 99% of the time. Maybe it's not the fairest comparison considering how explicitly queer D4DJ is, but still, proseka does have quite a bit of shiptease and sometimes outright subtext, and only occassionally does it actually make it to the EN server.

I have no clue why it's just proseka (i don't know enough about enstars to comment, i know there's issues with Arashi, but idk if there's any subtext between the boys that has been edited). Maybe they think it's too controversial or something? But come on, shipping is a big thing in idol game fan communities - worldwide - and especially the slash and femslash pairings are very popular and a big selling point. D4DJ literally got more popular after they added Hayate and Kokoa (who are canonically dating). Especially in online spaces (where y'know, the game gets free promotion via word of mouth) idol games are incredibly popular amongst queer people, a lot of people get into project sekai for things like that, and are incredibly unsubtle about it in twitter interactions, so it's... definitely a strange decision being made by staff.

Even weirder that An/Kohane content is rarely being altered (and maybe it's because some of their interactions can't be altered for various reasons, but also they're like, the only characters in the game to regularly get daisuki translated as i love you from what i remember). As a counter point to the an/kohane thing, me and some friends discussed that maybe they give them a pass because An is very affectionate and because of that then maybe it could be read in a platonic way when she says "i love you", but as a counter-counter point her relationship with kohane is outright described as them "seeing each other" in her Peak Excitement card story. It's... odd.

what's most surprising is that ensekai is definitely the highest budget out of the main idol games on the market rn. as far as i know, the en server is primarily operated by SoA, and I assume they're doing the translations because i don't think clpl has a branch for that and uh, why would they remove stuff they wrote in the first place? I dunno what sega's deal is either, considering some of their other franchises have queer characters. Obviously this game has a specific branch working on it, but you get my point - what the fuck sega?

i mean the en server is probably the most poorly managed of the bunch, which really. says something. censors aside, the translations can generally be pretty crappy. constant typos that never get fixed, even to the point of literally giving false information about a character and then contradicting that in the same sentence because they fucked half of it up. not to mention "that's showbiz baby" which you might remember if you've been here since launch, and also the fact the writers often struggle with rui's more poetic ways of speaking (good example here if you ignore the actual fact and just focus on the official vs fan TL). there was also the struggle with translating aibou in the earlier days too, which... might've been because they wanted to avoid the possible romantic connotations of the english word "partner". ensekai is just really poor for something presumably really high budget and something this popular.

i kinda steered away from my original point a bit there but ensekai just disappoints me a lot. there's always been censorship or otherwise "toning down" of queer subtext.

take this example from the mmj main story. admittedly "having feelings for someone" kinda makes this more shippy, but you'll never fucking guess what she says in the original text (suki. she says suki. "feelings" is a roundabout way of them saying "love"). like sure i could excuse the examples from the main story at the time because the translation was still Fine i guess, but it's at a point now where it's very obviously intentional. as you said, it's malicious, and it's erasure. sure the writing is ambiguous in the original version at times, but the fact that EN isn't even trying with the ambiguity and is just straight up getting rid of even vague things is, and i'm gonna fucking say it plainly, homophobia.

How are we feeling about ensekai’s emu3 translation!!! (I’m mad)

(if you remember the 3 whole posts i made when asahi got de-gayed on EN you'll know i am mad too and that this is probably going to get long)

i don't like to be too cynical but it was so obvious that they were going to change that line, i had a feeling since the event first released on JP and after the incident with Asahi where I went through and tracked down multiple other examples of EN removing queer subtext it became clear to me that in no way shape or form was "emu-chan really loves nene-chan" making it to EN without getting changed. what i didn't expect was them changing Nene's line after Luka's comment, which actually makes this whole situation far worse than many of their other instances of toning down queer subtext.

for anyone who isn't aware of what happened, in chapter 5 of the current Emu event, there's a scene where Nene, Rui and the Virtual Singers are talking about what would cheer Emu up. The vsingers all talk about how much Emu loves spending time with Nene, leading to the following exchange

If you look for them, any fan TL of this scene will be something similar to this:

Luka: ...Fufu. Emu-chan really loves Nene-chan, doesn't she? Nene: Th-that's nothing special...

EN's official translation is this:

So what's the issue? I'll start with Luka's part. In the original text, she uses the word daisuki, which can mean to "like a lot" or "love". It's a word you will see frequently in the idol/idol-adjacent genre of games, due to its ambiguity in that it can be read as either platonic or romantic when used towards a person, and often will be used in ambiguous situations so that it's harder to confirm the writers' intentions either way. so here, fans of the emu/nene ship could view the fact that emu loves spending her time with nene as more on the romantic side, but people who don't like the ship could view it as platonic and move on.

while they didn't translate daisuki directly, Luka's line still works, and still contains the ambiguity that works as ship tease in the original text. it's a perfectly fine localisation that still conveys the original intent. despite that, there is something to be said about EN's consistent refusal to translate daisuki as love in most instances when it's not used on An/Kohane (but then again, EN has literally teased An/Kohane on their twitter account so is it all that surprising?).

Here's some examples:

Aibou no koto ga daisuki de / he loves his partner -> he cares about his partner very much (The Power of Unity chapter 7 when Kaito is comparing Arata to Akito and Toya)

HARUKA-CHAN, DAISUKI DAYOOOO!!! / HARUKA-CHAN, I LOOOOOVEEE YOU!!! -> You're the best!!! (Dear Me, As I Was Back Then chapter 4 when minori is at an ASRUN concert. this one isn't actually that great of a localisation)

Honachan no koto daisuki dakara. Kore de iinda yo. / I love Honachan, so this is fine. -> I want what's best for her. And this is it. (Leo/need main story chapter 14 after Saki tells Honami she won't bother her anymore)

Minna daisuki de - taisetsuna tomodachi na no / I love them all - they're my dearest friends -> They're all amazing, and very dear to me. (Leo/need main story chapter 17. this isn't good either)

What's particularly amusing about that last one is that there's a second official translation for it that I assume was done by JP staff (since EN never promoted doing the Journey to Bloom subs like they did back when they provided subs for Petit SEKAI) that actually keeps the word daisuki as love.

It's a better localisation than the official EN team one.

Questionable localisation choices aside, Luka's line is fine and is actually in line with the original. The issue with this localisation very much lies with Nene's part, because that is an entirely new line.

In the original text, Nene's "that's just normal" or "that's nothing special" or however you choose to TL it, is meant to be her questioning Luka's statement, since all the things that the other vsingers said that Emu liked were pretty normal things like going shopping and playing video games with nene. To Nene, these things are normal activities for them to do together, so she gets embarrassed by the fact that Luka concludes from that information that Emu loves Nene. When I dissect it like that I think you can really tell what the writers were going for here lol.

"That's just us being friends" does still convey the idea that Nene thinks these activities aren't anything out of the ordinary and she isn't sure why the vsingers are picking these out as some of Emu's favorite things to do, but it's very different from the original line. "But those are just normal things we do together" is something I just came up with on the spot, but it's a lot closer to the original text and still conveys the same meaning. The fact they changed the line to "that's just us being friends" is, honestly, not even subtle that they're covering up queer subtext. The original scene was very clearly written in as ship tease, and EN mentioning "friends" for no reason, especially since the word nor anything close to it was not used in the original, is instantly a red flag because it's like the go-to for queerbaiting and censorship. This was intentional. There was no need for them to specify that the relationship is platonic, Luka's part is ambiguous for a reason so that fans can view it how they like.

Just to top all this off, here's Rin's original line just before that Luka+Nene interaction:

Oh, and! And! She said that playing games with Nene-chan is also super fun!

And here's Rin's line from the official EN translation:

That's not the same thing, but even more weirdly, the incorrect part (super fun->really loves) is a correct translation for the part changed in Luka's line. So, they can do it, they are willing to say "really loves", just not in the right places. Maybe because Rin's part is less personal than Luka's part? It's strange actually, this isn't the first time they've done this either. Off the top of my head I can think of an example from Shiho's Varied Kindness 2* story where they translated the word "suki" as really loves, despite that being much stronger than the original word used (and the fact that daisuki is used a lot in the Leo/need stories and it's incredibly rare if not entirely unknown for them to translate it correctly).

It's not subtle that they're trying to remove implications of the characters possibly being queer, they did it in curtain call and they did it in walk on and on, and multiple times before then too. And considering some of the content in this year's events and the amount of times they say daisuki alone, it's gonna keep happening. honestly i hate the fact that i keep trying to justify the translations in these posts. these translations are intentional. what happened in the curtain call translation back in october says enough. when a character who uses explicitly romantic language towards another guy passes as a straight character in the translation you know they're doing it on purpose.

oh and once again, it's only the EN server that has this issue. The scene in question was translated almost word-for-word on the TW and KR servers.

read fan translations. they're better than what EN gives us and people put a lot of effort into them.

the additions to the red room get more nonsensical as you go down the list when you think about it bc 

first we have the bl/ack widows,   the original   &   only was natalia   &   later yelena joined her rank.

then they added various miscellaneous bl/ack wi/dows that they very often don’t even bother to name much less give any kind of backstory or information on beyond   “ orphan, “   for some reason.   i can think of one that had a name but i can’t actually remember her name rip.

after them,   there’s the red widows,   of which there are i believe only two,   ava   &   a currently unnamed woman who’s part of the winter guard.   ava isn’t actually a confirmed member of the red room   &   it’s implied that her name came from the combination of her admiration of natalia’s strength   &   wanting to be more   “ reliable “   than her,   but the unnamed woman apparently was affiliated with the red room in some way.

we also have the wolf spiders which is the male equivalent of the bl/ack wi/dows that never gained traction bc nico,   the original trainee,   was too uncontrollable   &   they shut it down before producing any wolf spiders.

then we also have recluse who is more or less detached from the red room bc she wasn’t technically trained in or by it,   but who is still affiliated with it bc her mother was a trainer or something in it???

Saw this post in the Inuyasha tag, unfortunately. And I just have to ask why ship sessrin? It’s such a boring bland couple. There’s no spice, unless you’re into children. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like some dark messed up ships, but for the life of me I don’t see anything compelling or suggestive about sessrin in the manga nor anime.

Seriously, the only reason I can see it being somewhat popular is that people self insert into Rin to fuck Sesshomaru or they like lolicon. That’s it, nothing really deep about it. 🙃

Otherwise, as a character she’s a total wet blanket with personality of generic nice kid. To make things worse, has such a dull design. Definitely, see why people love her, because if I were to pick a character somewhat close to Sesshomaru but doesn’t have any recognizable characteristics it would be hopefully “adult Rin”. Sadly, Rin’s nothing but a plot device both in the original story and in that awful sequel show.

Besides, that kinda homophobic that people don’t ship Kohaku with Sesshomaru, considering he has just as much relevance and impact with Sesshomaru as Rin does. Guess people don’t self insert into Kohaku or like shotacon. 💁🏻‍♀️

The closest romantic relationship Sesshomaru has in the original series is Kagura, who he wanted to save or honestly his freaking dad. Considering how obsessed he is with him. Lol 🤣 Otherwise, Sesshomaru is very much just an asexual individual who’s only real concerns are power and eventually learning to care about others platonically.

Which is pretty much why yashahime as a show, sucks. Boring characters, terrible plot, and horrendous animation. Sessrin is so shallow as a ship that it needs to steal from Inukag. From their friends/family, tree of ages, and rehash plot points/ character development from the original. Hell in their own series they have no engaging scenes as a couple. Other than Rin saying “Sesshomaru sama” for the millionth time. 🤮 As well as, their Mary Sue twins that look like discount Kagura/Byakuya. Are so utterly lame and boring, just like their supposed mother Rin. However, I will admit it’s funny that they die a lot on the show. 😂

Sorry got off topic, but anyways Sessrin will never be interesting nor canon. As Rumiko said herself, Inuyasha was done on chapter 588 and that Sesshomaru is Rin’s hogosha. Also, voice actor of Sesshomaru, Ken Narita has said that he can’t imagine Sesshomaru in a relationship and that this show feels like an experiment. You can look up the interview. Lastly, even the author of yashahime manga Shiina has said this terrible sequel is a what is in the inuyasha verse, not canon.

But, if you really believe people were blind and should not be disgusted by sessrin. You can rewatch episode 99 where Koga ponders about Rin and Sesshomaru to quote “I wonder why he’d let a little kid tag around him like that. Now if it was a pretty girl like Kagome, I’d understand bringing her along, but a young kid like that…” And he’s silenced mid sentence by his companions, as he pretty much suggests that Sesshomaru is only taking care of Rin, because he wants to bang her. Which is fucked up since she’s a kid.

Again, which shows that sessrin is only a ship for self inserters or pedos. That’s it nothing more or nothing less just bland nastiness. 🥱

tbh, the whole 'what does Team Cap think about this mess?' thing in TWiFFON is...something I had originally been torn about, and everything that's been happening ever since means I keep finding myself going "do I have the energy to tackle this? lol no".

For some context, because you probably know my stance on this sort of thing but I prefer redundancy just to make sure we're on the same page: once upon a time, I honestly, genuinely did like the Avengers. All of them, and yes, that included Wanda [...for less than an hour, but still].

Back when I still had faith in the writers, I was constantly going "...okay, so when are these guys going to stop acting so OOC? Where tf are they planning on taking these character arcs?" and just being disappointed at each turn— but I stuck around because I liked the potential. Steve "what do you mean punching fascists isn't cool anymore?" Rogers, Natasha "my past is a tire fire and I'll just leave it at that" Romanov, Clint "where's Loki? Let me at him!" Barton and the rest of the group had their good points, and I gave myself a headache trying to figure out wtf was their thought process when the time came for them to do their thing in TWiFFON.

It wasn't fun, I only did it because it was absolutely necessary... and I still ended up receiving complaints.

Look: for me, character bashing is exhausting. I have enough going down in my life that I don't have any interest in writing it, and over the past few years I've seen more than one of the fandoms I follow/lurk in become salt mines that have me going "...okay, if you hate it so much, why are you even here?"

When I write, I try my best to emphasize the 'actions have consequences' thing I learned long before I hit puberty; but that doesn't mean I'm up for anything beyond that. Again, I used to like these characters, so seeing the levels of suffering canon— and some writers— put them through just has me stepping back for a moment.

But TWiFFON attracted a lot of people who were pretty far out there in terms of what they wanted, some of whom got very very pissy when it wasn't the story I wanted to write, which is...probably like 99% of the reason I'm still burned out on that AU. Apart from the recent personal life bs that means I am Not Up To Dealing With any hypothetical rando that shows up in my inbox, because normally I could not care less about what people think but my energy levels are. Um. Not great atm. Not sure I wouldn't bite anyone's head off if they wanted to start something right now, tbh, or just ragequit writing for a while because I have way better things to do with my time than deal with random internet assholes.

...apologies for the tangent, but now you know why that situation is one I'm normally kinda reluctant on tackling.

As for what I'd originally headcanoned:

Back before things hit the fan, I'd originally planned to have some little interlude snippets of what Team Cap's been dealing with. Mostly, it would've forced them to acknowledge that for all none of them liked or trusted Tony, he was basically just the personification of what the rest of the world thought of them.

Nobody respects them, anymore, or trusts them; Clint'd be in very hot water and sleeping on the couch for a while, and Hank Pym would never let Scott hear the end of his involvement in this whole thing because Hank hates the Stark name and the English language cannot concisely articulate just how pissed off he was that he had to publicly thank Tony.

Team Cap overall would also start to fall apart at the seams as more and more stuff came out and ey, turns out the leader they'd trusted and broken international laws for had lied to them.

By omission, sure, but honestly— do you think that'd go down well? The "oh yeah, I've known my brainwashed friend killed his parents since DC but I am not going to tell him unless I'm forced to" thing?

I don't know about you, but I for one highly doubt Sam Wilson would be okay with that. Or Clint, for that matter, and the list goes on because the more time passes, the more stuff keeps coming out of the woodwork and for the first time in years, they're forced to deal with it.

One of the things I planned to include in the sidefic can basically be summed up as "the curious case of Bucky Barnes": that is to say, what'd happen after he's taken into custody, and poke lightly at the clusterfuck we're unpacking here. Tony, feeling bad for losing control in the bunker, would basically go "shit I fucked up but I also never want to see him again but he's an even bigger mess than I am, that's a whole lot to unpack so you know what? I'm just throwing out the suitcase entirely here, have all the resources for support and help and if I ever see you again, it'll be too soon".

...to sum up, it's messy af. SI Legal would feature heavily because his particular case means he needs a team of lawyers, what with the 'former POW who's trying to recover from All The Trauma' thing, and the 'so I literally was just trying to buy some damn groceries when you guys dragged me into this', and Tony basically went "hey, so if anyone wants to help him, uh, I kinda have some interest in this one. Fair warning, dude probably killed Kennedy while mind-controlled, with our luck".

And along the way, there'd also be some of that one subplot I'd cut due to pacing issues: specifically, the one dealing with prosthetics.

Remember how Miriam Sharpe said her son would never walk again? Yeah, we'd be revisiting that: her family'd get a letter or something inviting them for clinical trials, and meet Rhodey in passing as he's using his own leg braces to get around because he's still healing. Bucky would get a few design offers for a free replacement for his arm, and it'd probably end up being a collab with Wakanda because T'Challa feels bad for his role in that mess as well.

So Team Cap would be seeing this, seeing how everyone's acting and reacting, and the way one of their own is getting all the help and support Stark Industries has to offer and realizing that yeah, they messed up. Big time.

...depending on my salt levels and how close we're sticking to canon, I was thinking this'd go one of two ways.

Either they'd double down and just go "ugh, Tony is a supervillain and we can't do anything about it!" while TWiFFON marches on and then later go "...you mean he did it by accident?!", or...

Well, canon's proven character development and continuity isn't really in their writers' vocabulary. So my original idea of 'they're forced to deal with the reality of the situation, acknowledge they messed up and slowly move on with their lives' would've been very unrealistic.

Again, most of this is intentionally vague, I had not been keen to tackle that mess in TWiFFON in the first place and the way things exploded on me means I really, really don't have the energy to do so now. Not when there's far better things I could do with my time, like mess around with AUs where people actually get along, or knit, or— well, the list goes on.

I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT MAXIMA

– Overall opinion of them: i like maxima a whole lot. originally it was purely a superficial thing because of rammy of fighters, but then i actually went to find out more about him and honestly? i love this guy. one of my favourite kof characters for sure.

– Gender/sexuality headcanons: MAXIMA IS A TRANS MAN I HAVE EVIDENCE FOR THIS AND I AM WILLING TO DIE IN THE TRANSMASCIMA WARS. and he’s bi :>

– Favorite moment in canon: i have a few choices here. either the ending of 99 when he reveals he's been a double agent against nests the whole time and then takes like 80 bullets without even flinching, any time he just straight up admits to doing illegal shit, or “...” [twenty-nine]

– Favorite moment in a fanwork: i can't really choose but honestly i've seen some surprisingly nice stuff for him. i like the team k’ family stuff i’ve seen a lot, i think their life outside of tournaments is one of those things fanworks are really great for elaborating on

– Favorite line, in canon or otherwise: oh god i can't choose he's so funny. I'm going to post a few.

– Characters I love seeing them interact with: absolutely always k'. their relationship is very sweet. it really matters to me that k' has someone in his corner because a lot of the time i feel he gets a lot of shit left on his shoulders despite being a teenager. i think it's really nice that when they were making k' in the snk writer's room they also purpose-built a dad for him.

i also think it's really funny that he doesn't seem to get along with clark at all. they're really similar when you think about it, and i think both of them absolutely resent that.

– Last thing before sleeping headcanons: i think he reads before bed. he just feels like the type. right before bed though i think he checks in on k' and kula to make sure they're doing ok. kind of defeats the point of the relaxing before bed thing but functionally maxima sleeping is him plugging himself into a wall and turning himself off like a laptop soooo it dodsn't matter ╮( ˘ ､ ˘ )╭

– Sleeping habits headcanons: puts himself into sleep mode so he just sort of lies unmoving for a few hours in the position he went to bed in and then wakes up at an exact time. this also has the fun side effect that he doesn't outwardly react to any nightmares he may or may not have. (he has them) (he worries about ‘burdening’ his kids with them though so he keeps quiet and is glad he doesn’t show when they happen) (he really should talk to someone about it but he won’t)

– First thing after waking up headcanons: the sideburns come before anything else. he spends like an hour in the bathroom taking care of them. fortunately he gets up way earlier than the other 2 so they just. don't know he does this and don't have any reason get mad at how long he takes

– Favorite locations headcanon: i think it's implied in canon that he loves going on holiday? somewhere with a beach and a pool and really huge ice cream sundaes. cheerfully emptying out some billionaire's bank account one cruise at a time. thaaat’s maxima baby ( *︾▽︾)

I am not over it. I am SO not over IT. I read the SNK manga YEARS ago when it was only chapter 100 and one day I had the dumb idea to continue that shit. I am not PLEASED and Hanji's death UTTERLY WRECKED ME, someone who wasn't even a Hanji Stan!! reading the manga made me fall in love with her quiet determination, leadership skills, and sense of duty when before I was more of an Armin type of girl? She just. won me over. and her death was NOT OKAY. I CRIED while saying no no nO NOOO OH MY GOD -

and it TORE ME APART and she was the only person in my mind ever since and I couldn't read the manga in the same nonchalant way ever again. i'm sorry i promise im getting somewhere! it legit ruined my moods and made me so sad all the time IT WAS THAT BAD and i started hating eren with absolute passion. Idek where to start? How her death was pointless & nobody gave a fuck?? and Levi thought of FRICKING ERWIN instead of Hans & I wasnt even a Levihan shipper it doesnt make SENSE! He just LOST HANS

however, yeah, i do kinda feel you :/ like the way yams keeps glossing over hange's death is actually a bit weird? like i know they're at war and i know that they have no time for grieving etc but the kids were literally bawling their eyes when hange died but no mention of her sacrifice at all after that? like in 136, gabi said that they should stop the rumbling to repay azumabito's kindness and that's ummmmmmm.... a little bit weird. sure, gabi is a little girl with no connection to hange but reiner, jean and connie were there, when gabi said that and they saw hange’s sacrifice, so why not say something like “yeah, we can’t let commander hange’s sacrifice go to waste?” like come on. what did azumabito do? let falco transform on the board of her ship, so now she travels on a boat? i don't think that can compare to hange's acts though. she literally brought these mfs who were ready to jump at each other's throat together and then she sacrificed her own life to give them yet another chance at success. a sacrifice that was proved to be utterly meaningless in the very next chapter? why did falco learn about his ability to fly only after hange died? why didn't he discover it upon first transformation? :/

oh, and speaking of hange's character arc? like i get it, she was depressed, she struggled with her role as a commander (even though she did everything she could and she did a damn good job at it). and i guess that this plotline was kinda resolved when she heard that erwin approved of her actions? and that's cool, if what we've seen was actually an afterlife and not hange's hallucination. because if it was indeed a product of her mind then that's, um, kinda depressing bro. hange was so desperate for someone's approval that she dreamed about it while literally dying. i just don't understand why yams didn't include a scene where kids tell her how much they respect her and what an honor it was to serve under her command or SOMETHING. but as it is, hange died, thinking she was weak and useless and, um, yeah, certainly not the end you want for your favorite character :)

so yeah, hange's death was kinda meaningless and pointless - it didn't serve the plot whatsoever + it could have been very easily avoided

Tag Game

I saw this on @gold-pavilion‘s blog and since he didn’t know who to tag but we’re mutuals and I love tags, I decided to do it. ^-^ Making a separate post because the original chain was very long lol.

1. Why did you choose your URL?

Well, you see, the first account I ever truly made for myself online — specifically on Zelda Universe — had the username Linkle; there’s a bit of, I think, an interesting story behind that particular decision, as well, that’s more than just “it’s a random character from The Legend of Zelda”, which involves a group vote and decision made by some of the first online friends I ever had (I had borrowed a relative’s account somewhere else at the time and started interacting with people there), but I won’t go into the details for now unless somebody asks for it, because I don’t want to bore people. lol

Anyway, after making my first account on Zelda Universe to post a fairly long theory article I’d written and share my other thoughts related to the fandom, I actually became pretty decently well-known around the site for my work as a “Hyrule Historian & Theorist”. I even made the title of ZUer of the Month (essentially Member of the Month) only a few short months after joining the site, which, needless to say, I was overjoyed about.

After that, the name and title just...kind of ended up being something I stuck with — my own personal, recognizable brand, if you will — and as a result, on about 99% of the online accounts I own, my username is some kind of variation on Linkle or a reference to my being a Hyrule Historian, or both.

To be totally honest with you, this is, I think, my favorite variation on that.

2. Any side blogs? If you have them, name them and why you have them.

Oh gosh, haha... That’s a pretty long list; I actually have 12 side-blogs right now, buuut...I’ll only list 11 of them here, because one of them is currently a private one that I’m preparing for a special event in the future.

Let’s see...this is my main blog, and then there’s my four side blogs for sorting content by fandom (which I really need to start using more): @linklesbungoustrayblog, @linkles-pokeblog, @linkles-blog-attorney, and @linklesthebloggingofzelda.  My side blog for my artwork only is @linkles-art-blog, though again, I need to keep up with that more. haha I also have a blog called @linkles-historian-blog which is something I wanted to use for only blogging about and reblogging canon facts about the fandom and things that fit my personal headcanons, but I haven’t really used it much yet.

Then there are my Ask/RP blogs, @awkward-arthur-rimbaud, @awkward-paul-verlaine, and @ask-bungou-stray-dogs — the last of which I use the least and don’t really get any interaction on, but the former two of which are quite beloved to me, especially the first. I also have two other ask/RP blogs, but those also don’t really get recognized: @awkward-natural and a sort of specific offshoot of my awkward Arthur account, @pok-randou.

3. How long have you been on Tumblr?

Uhh...due to the fact that I didn’t actually post anything for many, many months after I joined, I honestly can’t recall, but I believe I joined in like...February 2018 and was completely dormant outside of organizing my page until around May or so. So, I’ve been here almost 3 and a half years now!

4. Do you have a queue tag?

No; I don’t really see the point in one, honestly. Why does it matter what’s been posted through my queue and what’s been posted live? To me, it just doesn’t — not enough to warrant an entire tag for it.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

In some ways, that’s a bit of a loaded question that I’m not sure I can openly answer without having to worry about certain people from a different site breathing disapprovingly down my neck...hahaha....

Another reason, though, is just that I wanted to branch out more in general, and especially get to mingle with the Bungou Stray Dogs fandom, since the main site I was using before this really didn’t have any BSD fans to speak of, minus like...three people in a user base of literal hundreds of thousands.

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

Remember how I mentioned earlier in this that I have a certain, specific, recognizable personal brand that I wanted to stick to when making my Tumblr? Basically, I did it because of that; my pfp is one I was most known for using back on Zelda Universe, so I decided to use it here. That kind of sucks sometimes, because I’d like to switch things up to fit my current aesthetic, but...alas, I must stick to my familiar brand. :/ Same goes for the general color aesthetics on my header and main page.

7. Why did you choose your header?

Because it matches my url and I wanted to be easily recognizable.

8. Which post of yours has the most notes?

Sadly not the one I’d like to have the highest number (most of the notes on it are actually thanks to my own reblogging while trying to get it noticed ;-;); technically, the honor of the most notes goes to this set of posts, with a grand 159 notes under its belt.

My second most popular is this artwork with 120 notes, and the third most popular is this article with 93 notes, both of which I’m very proud of for achieving those numbers when on average I’m extremely lucky if get over 20.

Most of my posts only get 4-5 notes on average.

9. How many mutuals do you have?

I have exactly ten mutuals at the moment, and I know and treasure every one of them personally. 💖

10. How many followers do you have?

I have 93 followers, and most of them I owe to my dear big bro, @gold-pavilion, and the lovely Dino from @awkwardbsd.

11. How many people do you follow?

I follow 96 blogs at the moment — just 3 more than are following me.

12. Have you ever made a shitpost?

I guess that depends on what you consider a shitpost. By most people’s definitions, probably, yes.

A lot more often than I actually spend posting. 😂

Bro, I barely have any interactions with anyone who isn’t a close friend anyway, so no. Thankfully not. I’m not really looking to engage people in arguments here; I just want to do my own thing and see other people enjoying my posts.

15. How do you feel about 'you need to compare this’ posts?

I have no idea what those are, so I can’t really say. I kind of wish this question was more specific, because now I’m curious. haha

16. Do you like tag games?

I LOVE tag games, I just rarely get tagged in them. ;w; Even revisiting ones I’ve already done after awhile can be fun, because it gives me the chance to see how much my answers have changed over time.

1,000% yes, just like with tag games.

Do you mean a crush as in starstruck or a crush as in the traditional meaning? Because yes.
