Stars in His Eyes
pairing: Anton x fem!reader
warning: smut! cunnilingus, cum eating, backshots, unprotected sex, pulling out, also reader has tattoos :3
wc: 1.4k hehehe
a/n: anton to me is dr bruce to gayle waters-waters uhm anyways I'm insane and I whipped this bad boy up in a day 💪🏼
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
"You have tattoos?"
Anton's voice was a little loud, surprise volumizing his discovery. His eyes fixed on the small star along y/n's elbow. Situated right above the joint, a fine line tattoo that could easily be overlooked.
Laughing, "I do," she smiled at him, amused at his shock, "I have a couple, actually."
"A couple?" His eyes shoot to her face, feeling his cheeks flush at her amused smile.
"I'll show you them sometime."
Y/n returned to her phone, scrolling through something or reading another thing. Anton tried to distract himself, he really did. He tried looking at instagram, twitter, even videos on tiktok didn't help him. But he stayed sat, glancing every now and then at the star, thinking a hundred questions about it. Did it hurt? She mentions a couple, how many make a couple? What was her first tattoo?
"When did you get it done?"
Y/n looked over at Anton, seeing him fidget lightly.
Amusing him, "Maybe a year ago?"
His eyes shot all over the place, nervousness making him fidget and move even when he wanted to stay composed.
Maneuvering closer to him, "Do you wanna see them?"
Her arm caged him in, her hip touching his left thigh as her arm held her torso up hovering over his lap. His hand unconsciously moved onto her hip, guiding her into his lap.
"A little." He whispers. His eyes were staring onto her collarbones, nervous of what confidence he'd see if he looked into her eyes.
Leaning down, y/n kisses the corner of his mouth. Hearing him whimper, she felt his hand move to hold her head to properly kiss him.
Sitting better in his lap, y/n got a better feel at Anton's growing boner. Deepening their kiss to grind onto him, his hand traveling throughout her body to anchor himself onto her, feeling himself sink into the couch.
"You-" He's gasping for breath trying to find his words. "You said you had a couple."
Leaning in to kiss and bite onto his plump lips, "I do."
"Where?"
"Here."
She stretched the the neckline of her top down to show a small tattoo right along her sternum, a little bit above her breasts. Seeing the sight Anton's breath hitched.
"You can touch, if you want."
His hands carefully moved upwards, tracing the line work, feeling the bone beneath. His hands rested along the bottom hem of y/n's shirt, looking up at her for permission.
"You can take this off, as long as I can take your shirt off."
Her voice grew more husky, his cheeks warmed more hearing the arousal in her words.
Anton's hands moved under the thin material, feeling the soft skin of her ribcage before pulling off her shirt. Seeing her exposed skin, he immediately leaned in to kiss her stomach, her breasts, her tattoo.
"Not so fast." She teased, pulling his shirt off of him.
She leaned in and deeply kissed him, his tongue licking her bottom lip before he cradled her, one hand stretching across her back and the other hooking into her knee, moving y/n onto her back. He left wet kisses down her neck and onto her shoulders, hands moving her bra straps to the side to kiss as much skin as he could.
She lifted her back up enough to slide her hand behind her and unfasten her bra. Anton threw her bra onto the floor as he began kissing and licking her breasts. Large hands cupping and massaging them as he alternated between her left and right breast.
He continued his way down, kissing and lighting touching her stomach and waist until Anton got to the hem of her shorts.
Before Anton could finish his "Can I?" y/n was already begging "Yes, please."
He slowly dragged her shorts off, sliding them all of the way down her legs before crawling back up to her soaked panties. He gave a light kiss to both hips bones before hooking his fingers into the sides of her underwear and sliding them down.
Anton grabbed y/n's calf to throw over his shoulder, situating himself right into her heat, leaning down to drop a light kiss onto her clit before giving a light lick upwards. His tongue was flooded with the taste of her, sweet and salty. Her gasps and whimpers gave him the confidence to continue. Holding onto her hips and thighs as he lapped at her, flattening his tongue to collect as much of her honey as he could. Lightly sucking onto her clit before sucking up the dripping wetness in her hole.
"You're so sweet." Anton looked up at her, fingers rubbing her clit as she's fallen back, hips jerking upwards as she gasps for air.
"Anton, please."
"Please, what? Lick you? Fuck you?"
"I really need to cum." She whined.
"Of course, baby."
He moved his arm to insert two fingers into her core as he continued licking and sucking onto her clit. The louder she moaned he faster his movements became.
"Yes, yes, fuck- Fuck you're so good! Yes!"
He continued his movements, slowing down as y/n came. Removing his fingers, he licked up her cum, continuously dripping out of her.
"Anton, mmm."
She tapped at his arm, "Please, can we fuck."
"Can you go again?"
"Please."
"Okay, baby." He sat up before shedding his pants and boxers.
Panting and calming down from her high, y/n still wanted to tease and egg on Anton.
"You wanna see the tattoo on my back?"
As if his dick couldn't get harder.
"Yes."
Moving to turn away from him, Anton could see the small tattoos along her back. A word here, a small image there.
"Can I fuck you like this?" He asked, hands tracing along her skin noticing how she arches a little more the longer he touches.
"Please."
Leaning over y/n folds downwards and gasps when Anton grabs onto her hips pulling her up to a doggy position. With her back arched and ass in the air, Anton positions himself, teasing the head of his cock up and down her slit. Her whimpers tell him to stop teasing and he slowly inserts himself.
He slides in as slowly as possible, seeing how wide he's stretching her out. A low moan escapes him as y/n's walls clamp around him. They both sigh-moan as Anton is fulled inside y/n.
He holds still, hands gripping her hips tightly as she's pulsing around him.
"You can move."
With that, he slowly slides out, about halfway before pushing in again, a touch faster. As he continues, he grows more confident in sliding almost out, leaving his tip in before grabbing y/n's hips to push back in.
He leans down and cages her in with his wide frame. Hips melodically thrusting as he hands move from her hips to the sides of her head. Y/n tilted her head, still moaning, to look back at him. Face flushed, saliva pooling and dripping down her lips.
Anton shifts a little, trying to go a little slower with stronger thrusts, moving he finds her other arm.
"Fuck."
Anton grabs her elbows, lifting her up as he continued pumping in and out of her. Her gasp fills the air.
"You have them on both arms?"
All y/n can reply with are moans and gasps.
feeling her tighten even more around his dick, Anton thrusts faster, hips unconsciously going sloppier and harder.
"Shit."
He holds her up with his left arm, having a tight grip onto her arm, as his right snakes across her front, rubbing circles into her clit. His climax is coming but he's racing to finish y/n off well before he can cum. Feeling her walls clench and spasm, y/n cums with a loud moan, he continues rubbing her clit as he pulls out.
He grabs onto his dick and finishes himself off, cumming onto the couch and y/n's thigh. He holds onto her as they drop onto the couch, catching their breaths and cooling off. Anton rubs and traces shapes across y/n's hip and thigh.
"I didn't you liked tattoos that much." Y/n teased, leaning over at him with a wide grin.
"Don't do this." Anton sighed, unable to hide a smile as he scoffed at her.
"I should get more, maybe even a matching out with you." She giggled.

work rant feel free to ignore i just need to get this out of my brain before i esplode:
My job not having any social media presence actually drives me insane...I'm going to try to rant without giving away where I work but my god. I work for an extremely well known (at least in the USA) organization and there's a lot of misinformation flying around out there and we do have a website, but just a website. That no one goes to or looks at unless they call and we direct them to exactly what they're looking for because they ask if we have it written down anywhere.
And I think it's incredibly...obtuse...to not have any presence at all. I'm not saying we need to have an extremely loud and huge presence. But even just like an official reddit or an official tiktok (we do have a twitter kind of but it is never used and I honest to god don't think anyone has access to it anymore) and even if those pages just have the most basic information on it, I think that would help. Just like "here's a link to our website. Here's our phone number. Here's which department handles what if you want to be asked for that specific department." I spend so much of my day on the phone with people that have questions that are so easily answered by just going on our website but no one does. Also don't even get me started on what they did to the website it looks like it got hacked now but it didn't.
This is a strange work rant for a Sunday night but I find myself annoyed. My coworkers and I send each other reddit posts of people misunderstanding things. I mean, they are willfully misunderstanding things they were previously informed of. In writing. But if we really want to make it better and more accessible for people, I think having the information presented in multiple ways would be best. Especially when we're dealing with children. These kids are on reddit and on tiktok and on twitter and they have questions and they are more likely going to go searching in those places to find information. And there are people that claim themselves as experts on all of those platforms but none of them work for or have previously worked for my organization. So they don't know. So these kids are getting incorrect information and then I get angry parents and children on the phone because they listened to the wrong person or organization and I'm standing by our policy and our rules and they don't like that.
Also sometimes they aren't angry on the phone because they were misinformed about something saying that they can't do this this or that and it turns out they can. And if they hadn't called they would have entirely missed the opportunity because they're going to the wrong sources because we, as an organization, refuse to be the source on a different platform other than our own.
And I get it. They don't want to hire someone to be the social media person because we are small and don't have the budget for that. But it's 2024. There are many people. Many staff. That have a lot of downtime (not my department unless it's the summer) and this could be the perfect task to give them. Even if it's just coming up with ideas to present. Not even necessarily filming anything. And videos don't need to show anyone's face or voice. We could literally do the most basic shit and it would be beneficial. It would count down on the number of calls we get and my coworkers and I would have time to do our jobs instead of spending half our time on the phone (do not ask how behind we are because it is sad).
There's something else I want to say about a different organization that I think this would help with but I cannot say without giving away where I work and also I can't bitch about our partner without causing problems. But if you live in the USA, you know about our partner, and I guarantee you hate them. But not as much as me. Never as much as me.
#rae irl#rae at work#don't ask where i work#if you figure out where i work no you didn't#but if you figure out where i work and you are specifically a certain age and have questions you can dm me#and i will be happy to answer as best i can but also i doubt that's the case for any of my followers#i think my corner of tumblr is too old for that#this was brought on by me looking up where i work on tiktok and seeing one tiktok in particular#that was so incredibly wrong that my eye started twitching#luckily it only had 1 like and 0 comments but how badly i wanted to say something#like “this is factually inaccurate just look at the website”#skjkgjdhlkfjhglkjdfh i'm fine i'm fine not bitter at all#this is also coming off the heels of multiple of my coworkers getting yelled at on the phones last week#not me because i think people just hear how tired i sound and don't try it#but two of my young coworkers got yelled at because parents didn't like the answers they were told#which isn't really related but i think just having something anything outside of our organizational websites might be beneficial#and yes i did ask once and they said we're gonna step away from that landmine and i haven't brought it up since#i just think it's dumb#also apparently we didn't get internet until like the 2010s so we are so far behind the curve i don't even know

i know that everyone is blaming gen z and alpha and calling them stupid for this, but it actually isn’t their fault:
1) google has gotten demonstrably worse, ON PURPOSE in the last few years. not just because of AI, but how it changes your searches to make more money and is almost all sponsored or SEO-gamed results, plus google and facebook’s now over a decade long dismantling of journalism of all kinds, has led to this. so people of all ages are finding it less useful and finding it hard to parse accurate answers.
2) it’s a bit of a misnomer to say they aren’t using google at all - gen z, gen alpha, and other generations are using YOUTUBE, owned by Google parent company Alphabet, more than ever before, because despite its many issues and decline, it remains accessible in most countries, unblocked on most networks, and easy to use. TikTok may still be on the rise, but YouTube remains a homepage for a lot of people in the way Google used to be.
3) They’re using Tiktok (and IG despite it not really working well) more like a search engine because the app is molding itself and PROMPTING them to. every video has the search bar at the top with a suggested search term that the app generated through scanning keywords said in the video, caption, and comments. every comment section on popular video has a feature where if a phrase or word is said a lot, it turns it into a suggested search a user can click on and go directly to from the comments. Creators are learning search-engine optimization strategy because the app is prioritizing videos for monetization that are longer and follow common SEO practices (this is to compete with YouTube - TikTok wants more long videos and streaming to make it more like YouTube, and YouTube bolstered YouTube shorts to make it more like TikTok).
4) Creators of all kinds - for fun, for education, for anything, who may have written on a blog in the past are turning to making SEO-friendly video on any of these platforms, also, because Google (and the social platforms that used to bring click traffic like Twitter and Facebook) are so broken that they can’t reach people easily (nor sustainably) that way. That goes for everyone from journalists to food bloggers. So which platform are you gonna use? Google, where your results are AI generated or sponsored garbage you can barely trust or that it’s hard to parse, or TikTok, where sure there’s some sponsored stuff but it clearly says when it is (bc legally, influencers HAVE to), and there’s a person’s face giving you advice?
It’s a similar principle to why Reddit has always been a better place for answers when searching than whatever you find on Google - you have real people (or at least the semblance of real people) giving you personal advice, that is informally peer reviewed through comments, thread replies, etc.
5) As we know, Gen Z and younger are not being taught computing skills. I’m a millennial. I was TAUGHT how to use a search engine. I was TAUGHT how to use a database. Many younger people, now even adults, were not only not taught because older generations assumed they’d just pick it up, but the platforms and devices they grew up using actively DISCOURAGE developing the skills to figure it out.
By the sheer fact that I am a millennial who grew up with a new device and platform almost every year, my brain is wired to figure out change with technology. But a lot of younger people grew up with the same platforms, now firmly entrenched, that do not want the user to leave to use google or click a link to someone’s website, because that’s less ad revenue, so they’ve created user interfaces and experiences that discourage leaving the platform, and discourage creators from leading people off of it for additional info.
Schools in a lot of countries, especially the US where they are underfunded, are leaning on tablets instead of full computers, where your only access to the internet is limited to curated app experiences, and discouraged from exploration on the wider internet because it is “bad and unsafe. If you’re actively prevented from Googling, or never taught, or have apps that provide the info instead, why would you ever do it? How would you learn?
This is not to say that TikTok is good or perfect or the things found there are always accurate or people aren’t responsible for their own ongoing education sometimes. But we shouldn’t be surprised at any of this. It wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if all of this wasn’t to sell us more shit, either. But it’s always to sell us more shit - whether on Google or Tiktok.
Also this is ironic given the original post is a screenshot of a tweet from Pop Base, an engagement farm account that basically steals headlines from real outlets and takes all the engagement, not linking to any original reporting or even the source sometimes. It’s literally a part of what created this problem.
[ID: A tweet by Popbase that reads, "Nearly half of Gen Z is using TikTok and Instagram as a search engine instead of Google, new data shows.". Below the tweet is a pic of a poorly drawn Goomba from Super Mario Bros with text below him that reads "are you out of your fucking mind".]

Exploring the options
1. Instagram
2. TikTok
3. Pinterest
4. YouTube
5. Twitter
6. ArtStation
The top listed sites for artists to showcase and promote their work.
Instagram - Instagram has so many features that appeal to artists when trying to promote their work. The intense visual aspect makes it the go-to for uploading and sharing art, be it images, reels, stories, or videos. These all help to encourage follower interactions which in turn boost the profile. Allowing people to see the full process of creating also helps to build an element of trust between the artist and the audience, again, boosting interactions when you have a strong follower base. Adding hashtags to posts also helps to spread work to groups who may not have otherwise found your work.
Some of the downsides of Instagram are the constant changes being made to the algorithm which can be harmful to an account as followers may not see recent posts and thus engagement drops. The number of art accounts the site hosts does mean that there is constant competition. Instagram's policy on nudity and what is classed as adult content is also a huge drawback, one that my own art account has had to deal with due to the nature of my work.
TikTok - This new platform has also become a front-runner when it comes to artists of all kinds displaying their work, with constant visual input and everything being contained in such a short time frame people can easily access work and accounts can grow rapidly in a very short time frame. The audiences being reached through the 'for you' page alone are so large and so varied that your work will almost always reach its intended audience.
The drawbacks to this app are similar to those of Instagram, especially when it comes to what is classed as adult content, which can detrimentally impact creators and result in bans being placed on specific videos to accounts being deleted entirely. Videos may also have a shorter lifespan as the app moves at such a fast pace, a keen eye for editing is key to draw attention from the first seconds.
Pinterest - An app that has always relied on visuals, pins, and boards can help to grow familiarity with your audience. A much more refined search engine can also be beneficial as the people who use it tend to have a clearer idea of what they are searching for in the first place which means that your audience will better be able to find your account and follow what you produce.
One of the cons is that building this platform can be slower than on other social media platforms. Constant pinning and board building can help aid this but growing an audience may take time and a watchful eye from the artist.
YouTube - Another platform that has been advantageous for artists to show their creative process and make small tutorials has the potential to be monetised which is greatly beneficial for artists. However that requires agreeing to advertising on the videos. YouTube is owned by Google which means that search results for related videos will be higher in the results.
Growing a YouTube channel is infamous for being difficult, and slow and takes a lot of time to curate even after the work has been created, editing and constant innovation are required to keep the audience invested in your work.
X ( formerly Twitter) - Similar to Instagram, X utilises hashtags to categorise the content on the site, this can allow you to reach potential audiences and communities that your work would thrive in. It already has a large portion of artists displaying work, this can be a massive help with networking and growing your reputation within the art community. X also has built-in statistics for understanding audience engament.
Cons- as this is predominantly a text-based platform, visuals tend to be rarer but more noticeable in a feed. With millions of people using the platform, it can be fast-paced which can make it difficult to maintain a posting schedule.
ArtStation - this is a new platform to me, however, some of the listed benefits highlighted show that it is targeted towards professionals and enthusiasts in the digital art, gaming, and entertainment industries. the site also posts everything to a high quality which shows work in the best light. ArtStation also posts job opportunities which is perfect for artists who are looking for a more stable income while continuing to create.
cons - As this is a relatively new platform with a niche audience it may be harder to build a following. This alongside its incredibly competitive nature may be better for someone who already has a strong follower base and is looking to expand into other areas.

Sb on twitter asked if we'd be affected in case all social media closed and my first thought was how do I chat with friends but then I thought well, I have their mail, so that'd be ok, but what if I want to make more friends?
You expect me to go outside and find them at this age? Best case scenario of finding friends at your late 20s and onwards is if you work at the same environment or join some club, community with like minded people...which for me, where I live, is 0. It's a miracle I made friends with 2 Greek girls after so long and being understood at this level (we did join a similar interest community with 10 other people which vanished within 2 years so). In my previous Greek friendships I didn't feel that understood. I was still treated as sb different, even if I was admired for it at 1 or 2 of them. Sometimes I felt understood but it wasn't long before I again felt I was weird compared to them and was better off staying at home. Going out with friends without anxiety was never a thing for me and I thought it was cause I was a perfectionist and insecure, but it turns out it was because I was too scared what to say to remain likable. So yeah if social media disappeared I wouldn't be able to make new friends. Cause my best chance of being understood is from more open minded communities than my hometown's and that is, Greek-wise, north Greece, and, world-wise, several foreign countries. I'd rather die that be limited that much to Crete again.
And then of course we have interests. In the past, music artists posted all their news on their websites so yeah, if they did that again I wouldn't need social media, but youtube is considered social media I guess? So where am I supposed to see new releases of my fav artists and off stage videos? We barely sell American music cds at this point, where would I find my Japanese cds? Where would I check the mvs to see if I want to buy said cd? You want me to go to each site one by one and watch them there? As for photoshoots, I thought blogs could become a thing again but finding them? That would have been hard. Anyway yeah, without social media many things would be depressing again and my life is already depressive enough. Even tiktok is helping. With so many people making funny shorts, sometimes it's easier finding a little sth to laugh there than wait when the next comedy will be on tv.
So yeah long story short, my life without social media would have been miserable. Back when I wasn't allowed to have internet I still bought many cds, magazines to get posters, played with toys and watched MTV. Now I can't have cds that easily, magazines no longer put posters of my fav artists in, I am no longer amused by toys but i can play videogames and be creative and yeah...no channel plays the music I like anymore.

Are Smartphones Productivity Tools or Distraction Disasters?
We’ve all felt the momentary panic when we reach for our pocket to pull out our smartphone, only to realize that it’s not there. This panic is indicative of a deeper issue with how our society has become reliant on technology, so much so that we have miniature computers in our pockets at all times. Are you using your smartphone as a distraction tool or as a productivity tool? That’s what we’re trying to answer with today’s blog.
Smartphones as Distraction Tools
Smartphones are known to kill productivity when they aren’t used intentionally. The average person checks their phone every 12 minutes, leading many mental health professionals to cite it as a major cause of several mental health problems. Just think—in the workplace, that’s nearly over an hour and a half of time spent on the smartphone… multiplied by every employee, including yourself.
Some of the major culprits include social media websites like Facebook and Twitter, as well as video sites like TikTok and YouTube. They all have notifications that specifically get users to open them, and once the distraction sets in, you can bet it’s hard to get back to work.
Smartphones as Productivity Tools
Smartphones have also allowed business professionals to be remarkably productive, in a bizarre twist. Businesses can contact their employees whenever they need to (although whether this is a good thing is a whole other matter), and your customers have never had greater access to your business. Many companies might try to limit smartphone use in the workplace, only to later unban them after they see just how productive their employees can be with them.
Keep Your Smartphone Use Productive
Yes, the smartphone can be both a distraction and a productivity tool, so you should be sure to treat it like both of these things. Here are three ways you can allow your team to get the most out of their devices while minimizing distractions.
Disable push notifications: Push notifications can disrupt your productivity, so we recommend turning them off for every app you download. If you do this, you might find yourself experiencing fewer distractions during the day.
Turn on airplane mode: In airplane mode, you’ll receive fewer notifications while also preventing yourself from using the various data-driven applications on your device. You can always toggle it on and off as needed depending on the situation.
Hide or remove social media apps: If you’re someone who spends a lot of time scrolling on Instagram or sending Facebook messages to your group chats, then perhaps it’s time to either remove your social media apps or move them somewhere on your device where they are not as easily accessible. This should help you avoid scratching the itch to check them so often.
Technology and time management go hand in hand, so if your business is struggling to make better use of its tools, Infradapt can help. To learn more, call us at 484-546-2000.

I had a whole breakdown in 2019 when I kept trying to explain to people that social media is a terrible lie and got the response "Yeah, and?". I felt like a lot of people didn't remember anymore that websites used to be about sharing with each other so I went on a whole Twitter rant explaining how solitary these places have become down to their UI design.
The most important things we've lost on websites is curration, remixability and the upstream.
One of the bigger issues with reposters on other sites is they often do it from lack of curation otherwise. That's not to say there wouldn't be any but I have seen plenty of "X Fandom Daily" accounts (mostlh on instagram) reposting (especially art they shouldn't) that do so because there is no way to curate their fandom account otherwise. It's not to say there never wasn't reposters but even back in the day, I'd say that it specifically was more common to see when the content wasn't easily accessible off platform, ie Pixiv fanart or niconico videos that had a language barrier on their native site being reposted in photobuckets or on youtube. Reposters are definitely still going to be an issue due things like financial incentive now introduced in online content but there is definitely still a consumer population that would benefit from more curation features returning to social media sites.
Remixability is the ability to add on or change the contexts of posts. Older people might remember back when YouTube allowed you to reply to videos with your own videos that would be linked in a section of the comments. Sadly something removed due to exploitation, I think there still was more value in it because you could follow a chain of a concept both forwards and backwards in the process. We see this being a wildly successful aspect of TikTok now with the ability to Duet, Stitch, and video comment on the website. I don't think it's much surprise a lot of the most memorable moments from TikTok tend to be things like "It's me or the PS5", "That's enough slices", "Its under the sauce", or say any of the controversy videos like couch guy as the content is specifically created by multiple unconnected parties adding to the creation. A lot of other social media has downplayed interaction on their platforms and we have been worse for it. Rarely is good media made in isolation. As an artist, your work is often improved or changed through the process by communicating with others if not just outright a collaborative project. TikTok thrives because of that community collaboration and remixing of content, it adds complexity to the work in the same way you have to add salt to a cookie recipe to make it taste better. When platforms don't support that they are dulling their content.
And now most importantly, the upstream. I put to the idea that your post is a salmon swimming towards the top of the feed. In a pre algorithm world, your post got one chance to start at the top of the stream before is was pushed down the way. However, every user who saw it had a chance of reblogging it so that it was pushed back up to the top. With the vastness of social media, sometimes it's not just about getting into someone's feed but also getting seen on a feed you're already in. How many things might have you missed just because you didn't scroll down far enough to see it? Reposting by a mutual who maybe had a smaller list of people they follow or who saw it at a time you weren't on would increase the frequency and therefore likelihood you could have seen that post and by extension your mutuals/followers having the same experience by your repost. An last minute addendum to that is the uniqueness of Tumblr's is in blog tagging. It's give us an easy chance to curate a tagged section on our blog for our mutuals/friends/loved ones where we can share things specifically to them or say maybe a follower like the content you post and wants to find more of it on your blog so they can search through your tags to find it. While it's not exclusive to Tumblr, it's one of the few popular places that include it. Especially in the age of the algorithm, the ability to be seen is one of the greatest struggles of creation as you don’t even get a guaranteed chance at the top at post. A lot of site’s just lacking feed control for the user has absolutely harmed user interaction and community. A new user essentially is constantly pressured by social media to become an influencer just to gain a better chance at interacting with others due to the algorithm controlled feed.
This is all to say that this is why people who’ve stayed on here like it and have been extremely opposed to change. Tumblr is not by any means perfect but it still holds true to the social aspect of social media. Every artist I talk to who still posts on tumblr agrees they feel the happiest posting here and I wouldn’t be surprised if that isn’t the same for a lot of other creators or even general users because it’s one of the few places that doesn’t demand you give it the same levels of attention as a job would to have fulfilling experiences on it. Sometimes I post nothing for months and then everything at once and I rest easy knowing I won’t be punished for not consistently pushing out daily content. Right now I have months to years old art regularly being shared thanks to community spaces, fandom blogs, and so forth sharing my work with each other.
Alright, I think I like tumblr now.
A pun post crossed my dash, and I reblogged it with an equally bad pun in return. A couple of my followers find it funny, it's a good day for everyone.
That was on July 7th.
Virality on Reddit was entirely algorithmic. You could garner a couple crossposts, but the success of a post was entirely dependent on whether or not it hit r/all--the main page of Reddit. If your post does that, it's immediately exposed to 10x the number of people and immediately gets upvoted.
On my pun post, I get a couple reblogs. And those reblogs get a couple reblogs--nobody really adds any content to the post, it just gets a couple reblogs here and there.
There's a specific chain of reblogs that I'd like to focus on. The most popular post on this chain has about 25 reblogs on it. Half the posts have three reblogs or fewer. Five posts in this chain have just one reblog total.
But the reblog chain keeps going. And going. It breaches containment many times over. And finally, after a chain THIRTY SIX posts long, at 9:30 AM, July 22nd this morning, it hits a popular account.
99% percent of the people who have seen the post--virtually unchanged from how it left my dash--have seen it because it was curated by 36 different people. That's insane to me.
None of those 36 people know that they're part of this chain. They saw a post, reblogged it, and moved on. If any one of these people had not reblogged, the post would have a fraction of the impact it has.
And yet, after two weeks, the post has effectively hit the main page of tumblr. It was picked up, only because people liked it enough to show it to their followers. There were no algorithms necessary.
You really, truly, cannot get this on any other website.
#I have a lot of feelings about tumblr#keep tumblr alive#but also gatekeep it#some things need gatekeeping tbr#trust me I have experience#sorry for long post lol#long post

@butterfly-mochi Rewrote this freaking thing thrice because it keeps getting deleted wth tumblr agjvahkfajkvk- I enjoyed writing it a lot tho and since I’m too weak to the characters I ended up writing for all of them (except for Sucrose, im sorry bb huhu, I ran out of brain power). This is my first time writing for so many of them in one go so please excuse me for any mistakes or blandness ywy thank you for letting me write for my baby Ganyu too hhhhh
Universe Reversal 2
Genshin Impact Character Reader and Modern Players with Zhongli, Childe & Ganyu (how they simp for you) (event masterlist / Part 1 / Part 3)
Zhongli the F2P
The most relatable out of the bunch because this man is still broke and can only rely on the primogems he can farm. And he had a LOT. The one thing he doesn’t have a lot on, however, is his luck.
So how did he manage to pull you?: Well after exhausting all his primogem on your banner with nothing but weapons and other characters, he has lost his resolve. But by some weird luck, there was a character bug that was fixed and in his email was the almighty consolation primogem. Enough for ONE pull. And by the Gods he FINALLY got you.
He’d nonchalantly post his screenshot of pulling you using a single acquaint fate in his friend group without any words and everyone else just loses their shit. “You got them in one pull?!” “Yeah” A riot.
This was partnered with the fact that not only is Zhongli an F2P player, but also barely has any five star characters.
He looks calm and apathetic over the news, but behind the screen he’s exhausted and relieved, silently livid.
He has no primogems left to squeeze for a constellation so you’re instead pampered with the best weapon suitable for you (because that’s all he keeps getting).
Zhongles spends most of his time farming for materials to quickly level you up, unlocking all your stories and voiceline, but he fucked up on your build (his artifacts are messy).
He follows communities, forums and videos regarding your character to know all the things he needs to perfect your build. You can barely make a dent against normal mobs, so he knew he was doing something VERY wrong.
Is the type of person to keep refreshing the page for new content, very updated.
Ask him a question about your character and he’s gonna bring you the word vomit that is his research. He’s not gonna stop- probably accidentally developed a copypasta for you.
Also follows your VA in both Tiktok and Twitter to indulge in every bit of content. He also has that screenshot of his pull saved and locked.
On his birthday, a friend of his gifted him a chibi plushie of you and he has treasured it ever since, treating and handling it like its a figurine.
“It is merely pure luck and grace from the gacha gods that I got this character, and I will make sure that they know I am very grateful for this fortune.”
Favorite Voiceline: Birthday Message
Childe The Whaler
This lucky wealthy bastard with no remorse for his money whales for EVERY character. He’s making a collection, which is to get all the characters, especially the five stars. So when your banner finally popped up, he’s gonna square up and trigger a whole ass meteor shower.
How he pulled you: Money. His luck with this games are actually not the best so he always compensates with money, he got you halfway through the first failed pity, almost giving him a heart attack that he might actually break the bank just to get you.
And then he pulls more to raise your constellation lol.
The first thing he does is look over your character info and read through it all; constellation infos, your base stats, artifact compatibility.
At the end when he’s maximized everything, he would then focus on playing around with your character *coughs climbing noises coughs*
He thought you’d just be another part of his collection but playing with your character was very enjoyable and in-line with his playstyle- oops 100 screenshots with the Kamera-
Any and all merchandise that he fancies would be his, and he’s definitely flexing it to the other sweetie nerds who call themselves simps. He’s fighting for the simping title, and he’s currently neck and neck with this fanartist in Pixiv.
Speaking of that fanartist, he definitely commissioned an expensive and detailed portrait of you, full rights and everything. No one else was allowed to use it but him.
Was also the first one with the audacity to call out your VA to create an account on Tiktok to create more content with your voice. He was successful.
His obssession also comes in the form of self-indulgent contents, and had been keeping track of the ship wars happening. During conventions, he cosplays as the character shipped with you the most (or the character he thinks should end up with you).
Silently scrutinizing those who cosplay you, only ever taking pictures with/of the best looking one, sorry haha
Definitely flaunts that you are his waifu/husbando and will fight for best girl/best boy during debates or polls. Has mobilized the community to vote for you once. He’s very persuasive.
“Hm? Why I’m just the best collector in the game, and I am more than happy to let everyone know that I am their number one fan haha, everyone who claims otherwise is definitely wrong!”
Favorite Voiceline: More About (Y/N) I-IV, (Y/N)’s Hobbies...
Ganyu the Employed
Ganyu, our dearest overworker, is one of the players in the older stage who actually has a job but still plays Genshin for their past times. The gorgeous sceneries and the music is her main focus in playing the game, not much of a try-hard but still decent in the combat mechanics.
How she pulled you: You came home within 50 pulls! And you appeared again after another 10 pull! Ganyu was so SHOOKT and so distressed because oh goodness, what does she do? She doesn’t know anything much about you!
Will rewatch your three trailers to try and understand your skills better, ended up saving the soundtracks from them because that was such a nice trailer music! Tnbee gains a new follower!
Ganyu will take a while before she can properly play or build you up because she’s so busy with work, she only ever plays when she feels fully done with her work.
During her break she plays with your character while multi-tasking on eating, earphones plugged in and sight on the phone as she farms materials and artifacts for you.
The moment she gets more help from her player friends tho, holy shit, you just ended up being so OP. She had so many good artifacts and weapons for you because she didn’t know what they were for before.
She loves how you’re so easy to use and can easily solo the enemies and even the boss fights. A huge breather, because now Ganyu can cheese the battles that takes a while, to give her more time to focus on the storyline and lores.
Since Ganyu plays for the story and aesthetic, she’ll find you almost always in her team. Still very proud of her pull, she makes the best screenshots of your fights or in the best angle through exploration.
Treasures you so much she starts talking to her phone- “Ah, no, please don’t fall.” “There’s violetgrass up there, let’s try and get it”
Blushes everytime you produce a sound when climbing, doesn’t change you anyways tho
Hums to your trailer music while working, and if permitted, would have the song on repeat while she buries herself in work. She finds it really refreshing and the time she spends in work miraculously flies by fast when she gets lost in the sound.
At one point, when she was given a day-off or if the convention was on her free time, she attends to look for cosplayers of you and take a picture. No one rejects her because she’s so adorable and cute when asking shyly.
Had brought a decent amount of merchandise, preferably the functional/practical ones like a phone cover, mug or keychain. Also has an earphones clamp with your little chibi self as the holder.
When asked, she would shyly announce that she likes your character the most.
“Their character theme and music really soothes me during work, it feels nice to have them, and I have not once regretted ever pulling for them. They are the best.”

STAYING ALIVE MASTERPOST, FROM A BROKE TEEN WITH ADHD
here you go. some down to earth tips on how to not die metally nor physically.
tired of those "drink three liters of water everyday uwu" and "wake up at 5 am" and "buy a bath bomb and a fec mask and some other things you don't have the money for" shit? i'm here for ya.
1. NOT DYING
eat at least three meals a day, one of which m u s t be warm and above 300 kcal (it can be istant ramen with an egg added if you have to)
you technically should shower everyday, but we know how it is. A change of clothes is sometimes enough.
DRY SHAMPOO AND BABY WIPES!!!
keep bottles with water everywhere. On your desk, near that spot on the floor you always end up sitting on, near your bed, basically whenever you know you spend a lot of time. No need to get up and go to the kitchen will help. Obviously change the water in the bottles as often as you can.
Get some form of physical activity. It doesn't have to be much, you can for example replace scrolling on tiktok by walking around your room and scrolling on tiktok! Brilliant, isn't it? Obviously, running or doing those 10 minutes workouts from youtube is better, but you are still getting like an hour of walking.
Buy blankets. Steal blankets. Summon blankets from other dimensions. Just make sure you have a lot of warm, soft blankets in your house. You will thank me when you won't have the anergy to wash your sheets (just take them off and throw some blankets on your bed), or when the power goes out.
If you have pets, ALWAYS keep spare food that'll last for a week for them.
things to always have in the kitchen: milk, eggs, flour, rice, pasta, yeast, cheese, oil, a leafy vegetable, onions, tomatoes, apples, patatoes, some flavourful sauce, sugar, salt, spices and an emergency chocolate bar. You can make a lot of food with those. Just make sure you won't eat the chocolate too fast.
Have a lot of spare batteries. A lot.
Get urself a flashlight, a lighter, and a pocket knife.
Remember the apples? eat one a day. if you don't like apples or you can't eat them for any other reason, you can take a kiwi, banana, orange, basically something that will give you vitamins and non processed sugar.
do the dishes before your sink starts developing it's own ecosystem
drugs from that one guy around the corner = very bad time
2. NOT DYING INSIDE
Open the damn window.
Don't watch so many commentary videos. You are probably not even checking the sources, so you can easily make unjust judgement, and like. did you even hear of half of those people before?
make a discord server just for yourself. get into the habit of writing little things that happened to you there. rant about the fanfics you read. or the movies. vent there if you don't have anyone you can vent to. write your ideas there, write e v e r y t h i n g. make a section for passwords, for quick ideas, for your to do lists. you won't lose it as you do with sticky notes or notebooks. there is no risk anyone will see it. oh, and when you'll have a strong impulse to tell emily that you hate her? write that message in your private server and list all ur arguments. look at tat the next day and decide if you really mean that.
life sucks. come to peace with it.
cuddle ur pets if you have them
1 hour a day without a lot of sensory input. if you have to, reduce to half an hour.
if you find yourself scrolling endlessly through social media, make sure it's pintrest (just don't compare urself to the people here; if you have issues with that, tumblr may be better)
delete. twitter. from. your. phone.
influencers are lying to you; maybe not even intentionally. remember when you were watching that cute-aesthetic-productive morning routine, and you were wondering why your life isn't that pretty? why your room is a mess? why you cannot for the life of god be aesthetic 24/7? its the filter. don't worry about it, their lifes arent that nice either.
realize there's actually nothing stopping you from screaming as loud as you can right now. like there is no physical barrier. think about it. realize there's no actual physical barierr to many other things.
your body is your body. you can decide how it looks like; just remember it's in your greatest interest to keep it healthy.
3. BEING A LITTLE BETTER THAN JUST ALIVE
If you wear make up, take it off before you go to sleep.
moisturize your body; everything is better when your skin doesn't feel dry
have a one brand of cosmetics that you love and buy things mainly from it. they often have sets of products that complete each other. i like ziaja. it's a polish brand, it's surprisingly cheap and has nice quality
cleanser, moisturizer, face mist
of you can, change your sheets once every two weeks
do the dishes before your sink starts developing it's own ecosystem
do a deep house clean once a month (don't beat yourself up when you don't tho)
keep your workspace organized (it doesn't have to look organized to other people, remember)
sunscreen
cook your own food
keep a calendar
no money for scented candles? got ya. make a simmer pot: throw some apple peel, a couple of cinnamon sticks and whatever spices that smell good you have into a pot, add some water and simmer. boom. your house smells good, and you haven't spend 20 dollars.
If you really like candles, buy scented wax melts. it's cheaper.
Buy urself scented mists. they're pretty cheap and will make you feel A LOT better.
keep your clothes clean. if you aren't sure if that shirt thats on your chair is dirty or not, throw it in the washing mashine anyway. better be sure.
if you can, make your bed right when you get up
wear clothes that make you feel good. put some effort into your outfits. really.
4. OTHER PEOPLE
be nice to essential workers.
if you have money, give tips.
remember, you do not owe anyone love; it is not something you can force. even if they saved your life. even when they helped you in your darkest time. if you don't love them, you don't.
you don't have to be in a romantic relationship to be happy.
if you want to, date! date everyone! date girls, date boys, date nonbinary people! date people completly different than you, date people from different countries, date them!!! just make sure they're kind and won't kill you. even if you don't end up in a relationship, you can learn a lot.
don't be afraid to piss off people that deserve it
smile to strangers :)
5. NOT FAILING SCHOOL
heard of dark academia? check it out
romanticize the heck out of studying
do not let your studying be just reading the same partagraph over and over again. it won't work. believe me.
seterra for geography, quizlet for everything else
try to make yourself intrestet in whatever you are studying (watch veritasium, listen to podcasts about weird history facts)
notes are for you and you only; don't worry about them looking pretty. doodle on margins, make weird metaphors, squeeze in as much info as you can.
when you're studying, listen to music without words/in a language you don't understand.
chew gum while you study
get the forest app, get attached to the trees, focus.
don't feel guilty for taking breaks
grades aren't everything, but they are important.
eat something in school
don't just use the cheapest pens. invest a couple dollars in something that will make writing enjoyable and smooth
those study with me videos? they're great
if you like to argue with the teachers, take care of your grades becouse. they may not like you afterwards.
be nice to your classmates and help them with homework. if you don't do your homework they'll help you
executive dysfunction won't let you study? been there. sometimes it's better to wake up ealier tommorow and do that homework then.
don't feel guilty for failing a test
go to the goddamn class
don't pull all nighters oh my god don't especially on weekdays
6. OTHER LIFEHACKS
don't get involved in the crime, and if you do always have a believable explanation why you were doing it
have different alarm sounds for every day of the week
set a daily limit of money that you spend
great hobbies that don't require a lot of money; urban exploration, writing, hiking and learning other languages
thrift stores
don't eat grapefruits while on meds
nail polish removers dissolve most strong glues.
if you have a cut on your skin, desinfect it. do it. please just do it.
always have pads with you. even if you don't get periods, at least one of your friends probably does
sign up in your local library. its free

She’s Creepy (Dream)
MASTERLIST
pairing : dream / clay x reader.
summary : apparently being a huge fan of a big youtuber is considered being a creep, according to minecraft gamer, dream. and ever since he called you mean things, your world turned upside down. (ANGST) (TRIGGER WARNING)
a/n : i’m aware i’ve been writing all angsts, i just enjoy a little heartbreak. this is a two part story!
you haven’t been on social media as a public figure for long, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t been on social media before this.
you knew people, you had people you look up to, as of many other social media influencers or content creators.
you grew pretty quick on youtube and instagram. your content mostly included room makeovers whenever you felt bored of your own home or your storytimes. you blew up from talking about your stalker.
since then, your subscibers stayed with you and supported you, saying that you have a charm, and that you exert good energy and vibes. and those type of comments have always made your day.
you always shared with your supporters about your life, not too personal but enough for them to feel included. of course, you’re not telling them your phone number or address, but you tried to share as many details you can legally in your story times.
that also meant that you would tell your supporters small details about you, such as what book you were currently reading or who you’ve been watching on youtube.
even before you stated posting on your channel, you’ve been watching a minecraft youtuber, dream and his friends.
some of your fans would tag them in some of your instagram posts, or tweets that brought no harm so you never really acknowledged it since it wasn’t hurting anyone.
you weren’t “fangirling” you’d say. it was more of you supported them and found them funny and entertaining.
coincidentally, you landed yourself on the dream team tiktok, which means that dream and his friends were all over you for you page.
and to show that you were active and not dead to your followers on instagram, you’d post a funny tiktok, usually included the dream team. you thought it was harmless. to you, it was just a way to show support.
but only a couple days later, hashtags about you and the dream team, more specifically, just dream, were trending.
when you saw this, opening your twitter app, you immediately went to find out what this was about. your heart jumped when you thought maybe dream acknowledged you.
in fact, it was worse.
what was trending was a short video clip during one of the dream teams chill streams on the dream smp.
the conversation between george, sapnap and dream went like this.
“you guys heard about that girl who kept reposting tiktoks about us on her instagram story?” george asked the other two boys.
“heard she watched us before she even started her channel” sapnap.
“i don’t know about you guys, but i think she’s being a little creepy.” dream said.
your heart sunk to your stomach. did your actions portray you to be a creep to other people?
“dream, you can’t just say that, especially on stream.” sapnap scolded him, george also mumbling something.
“why can’t i? i feel creeped out by her, a public figure posting me all over her socials.” dream replied, tone serious.
you clicked off the video, before it replayed again. you couldn’t get yourself to rewatch that, to hear those words again.
almost crying, you told yourself to suck it up, that this wasn’t worth you crying.
although they were who you looked up as minecraft gamers, this wasn’t worth your breakdowns.
that was until, you opened your direct messages.
you shouldn’t have. you knew the dream team stans would easily hunt you down, to ask you to back off from creeping their idol off.
but no, you still opened your dms. you expected a normal dm, ones that say they support you or some of your friends sending you memes through instagram.
what you didn’t expect was to see a flood of threats.
some said “kill yourself, you don’t deserve a spot on earth after what you did.” and “back off and leave my mans.”
it got worse from there. you thought maybe it’s just the dms, but you didn’t expect it to blow up more, with people tagging you with photos on instagram and twitter. people “cancelling” you.
you didn’t understand how this blew up like this. you were even more baffled to see some of your supporters sending you threats, too.
was this what you deserved?
you weren’t one to make rash decisions, nor were you a suicidal person.
you felt stupid. just because you supported big youtubers, you get this type of treatment?
the threats, the dm, never stopped. for three whole months, you had to deal with the never ending mean comments on your social media. you thought it would die down.
it came to the point of seeing your address and your phone number all over the internet. you never thought it would lead to this.
you didn’t know what to do anymore.
not long after, people started showing up to your apartment.
sure, your apartment didn’t have the best of security, which you blamed no one but yourself for being a public figure and living somewhere with little to no security.
they started with knocking on your door during ungodly hours. next was mailing weird stuff or sending stuff to your house. lastly, which tipped you off was that they would vandalize your apartment.
they would egg your front door, pee, or spray paint your walls of the outside.
you couldn’t handle it anymore.
soon enough, you knew you had to stand up for yourself. you had to call the police.
and that was exactly what you did. you called the authorities, which made the brave teenagers leave you alone.
while they were egging your house and making your life miserable, you knew this was the only time for you to make a rash decision. to leave the country, to somewhere no one else would fine you at. somewhere unpredictable, that no one would expect you to go.
it took a lot for you to book a plane ticket, box up your belongings and move to a completely different country, away from your hometown, florida.
you loved it in florida. though it was humid all the time, you enjoyed it. now that you had to leave, you only had a little while to cherish it before you leave it all behind.
and your family, your friends. the ones you’ve grown up with, ones you’ve grown to love and cherish. you had to leave that too. and without telling them too much information.
that hurt the most, needing to leave your loved ones behind, to start a new life, to start afresh.
-
DREAM’S POV
i didn’t know what was happening. one thing added onto another and soon it was out of control.
i didn’t say anything at the start, not thinking it would go this far. i didn’t know to what extent my fans would go.
sure, i saw all the things happening, but i didn’t do anything to stop it.
i saw her address and phone number all over social media, and did nothing about it.
george and sapnap said something, and pushed me to do something about it, but i didn’t. i was stubborn.
speaking of, it’s been months since i heard anything about her from her herself, everything i see is from my fans or hers, wondering where she is.
should i be worried?
-
YOUR POV
you left florida. the only people you told were your parents and your childhood friend, not trusting anyone else.
what you told them was vague, that you needed to leave, away from the US. specifically, you moved to Australia.
you made a decision to not live near the city, but the outskirts.
you were lucky that you weren’t a spender and you made more than enough money to make the decision to leave so suddenly.
lucky for you, you went to college and had a degree in law, so you didn’t need to worry about not having a job.
you never thought you’d make use of your degree this early in your life, thinking that youtube and being a content creator would last a little while longer.
you had to change you hairstyles, your fashion in general since you had to be in a more professional setting. although it was hard transitioning from a casual wear and having crazy coloured hair to wearing pant suits or formal dresses and going back your natural colour.
three years. it took you three full years for you to even think of visiting your parents in florida again. also, given the fact that you had a stable job and you couldn’t up and leave.
but recently, you were offered to work at another law firm in florida. you were happy to tell that to your family back home but at the same time, you were hesitant to go back to your nightmares.
but you braved yourself, since you missed your family dearly.
now, you were sitting on your desk in your cozy home, finalizing up the last of your move, like getting a house back in florida, this time with a better security just in case.
boxes of your clothes and belongings went first, to reach your new house there before you did so it was easier for you, not having to worry about your stuff.
you asked none of your family’s help, not wanting to burden them. instead you told them to just meet you at a restaurant you booked for you and your family and friends for dinner about three weeks after you landed.
although they protested, saying it was too long until they can see you again, you told them to not worry and that you were going to use those three weeks to start working at the new law firm.
you decided to take a straight flight from australia to florida, not wasting any time. although it was almost a twenty-two hour long flight, you sat throug and got to your hometown safely.
you didn’t know what was going on with the three boys you used to adore, since you didn’t have social media anymore.
but you didn’t mind it, it was peaceful.
two weeks since you’ve stepped foot in florida again. it felt amazing to breathe your hometown air again. it was refreshing.
you have fully settled in your new house, and workplace. you were glad to have met your co-workers. they were all super welcoming and made sure you weren’t left behind in anything.
so far, your transition from australia to florida has been smooth, and you weren’t worried about anything.
you got a car since you’ve arrived, so that you could travel easily from one place to another.
not to brag, but. you were making enough money to live a lavish lifestyle. a big house and a pretty expensive car, and that didn’t even make a dent in your bank account.
you were proud to see that you achieved all this yourself, and only within a couple of years.
you were just excited to meet your family in real life instead of facetime.
finally, the day of the dinner with your family came. unfortunately, you had to take a case in the afternoon, so you had to come to dinner in your work pant suit, with a turtleneck and a little late.
they understood it and told you not to worry about it, and that they would just seat themselves by your name instead of waiting for you. you promised you’d pay their dinners and apologized once again.
the sound of your heels comforted you as you walked from the valet to the restaurant. you were a little nervous to meet them again face to face after three years. but you couldn’t wait to catch up with them and tell them all about your work life that you could never tell them during the facetime calls.
you smiled to yourself, thinking nothing could go wrong. and nothing could really go wrong anyways, it was just a dinner after all.
but you hadn’t expected the three boys you used to idolize to be eating dinner at the same restaurant you and your family would be at, specifically, opposite your table.
you walked in the restaurant, telling the front of the house that you had a table reserved under your name and that you were pretty sure the rest of your family was already there.
she politely told you to walk alongside her, leading you to your family.
you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings. you were solely focused on seeing your family that you didn’t know that there were extra pair of eyes staring at you.
you smiled as your family saw you. your mum crying while standing up to hug you tightly, as she once did three years ago.
you could hear your friends shout your name loudly, as if to tell the whole world that you were finally here.
“don’t cry, i’m staying, no more going back to australia, i swear.” you told your mum, trying to reassure her that you were fine and that you were not going to leave her again, since she hadn’t stopped crying.
you moved to hug your dad, who had been patiently waiting for his turn after his wife. “you look great, kiddo.” you thanked him as he complimented your professional look.
you sat down, somewhere in the middle, between your family, opposite of your parents so that everyone could clearly see and talk to you easily.
with how noisy you family were, you were sure the entire restaurant knew your name and where you had just moved from.
they asked you about australia, what was it like to work there, away from your family. you caught up with every single one of them.
“don’t you live in that really expensive neighbourhood right now?” one of your childhood friends asked.
you winked at her, discreetly trying to answer her question. the whole table shouted and congratulated you for making it this far, in only a matter of short years.
you covered your face, shy, not wanting this part of your life to be told to everyone in the restaurant.
-
GEORGE’S POV
there she was. the person whose life we practically ruined. luckily, we didn’t ruin it all for her. i guess she made use of her brains and is working a normal job.
“dude.” i tried to attract the other two boys’ attention.
“i know.” both of them answered me.
“she’s rich rich, huh?” sapnap almost chuckled but was totally serious saying that.
“yup.” dream.
ah yes, clay. the man dream himself. sapnap and i tried to persuade him into making it right for her, for you.
sure, he had said those mean words, but he can take it back. three years ago, at least.
she disappeared three years ago. vanished. no one knew where you went. some say you moved out of the country, which deemed to be true. couple of years later people started to find out what you worked as, but i tried my best to help get rid of the information
but they just couldn’t pinpoint where. you basically uped and left everything.
and there was time to apologize, but it had been to late.
i thought she died, quite frankly. i didn’t want to be the cause of someone dying. well at least, not me, but my friend.
now us three were seated in a pretty formal and expensive restaurant to eat dinner. and we did not expect to see her here.
she came in a little late, wearing a very professional wear. seemed like you went to work before this.
i knew you were a lawyer, we three knew that since our fans found it out.
she looked completely different. hair not her usual crazy colours. just seeing her in heels baffled me. she was wearing something formal and that wasn’t what you usually wore, years ago.
-
DREAMS’S POV
she’s beautiful.
not that she wasn’t before.
but this version of her was different. her in her pant suit, in heels. a turtleneck under her blazer.
she looked elegant. classy. rich.
i mean, she is rich.
her family screamed when she told them where she lived. and man, that neighbourhood only had rich people. it had one of the best, if not the best security you could ask for.
it wasn’t easy to buy a house there. even if you had the money, you’d need a certain bank card to be allowed to even be shortlisted.
and if i saw it correctly, she drives a bentley that was just parked by a valet kid.
damn. she is one successful woman.
i know, how could i think this much of her, how dare i when i didn’t even apologized. i didn’t even try.
in fact. i did. even before she went MIA, fully on social media, i sent her direct messages everywhere. she never replied to any of them.
and i knew no one that had her phone number. and soon enough, no one had heard from her in three years.
and now she’s back. more beautiful than ever.
i needed to speak to her i couldn’t live with the guilt that stayed for these past three years.
my fans, my so called supporters made her life a living hell and i almost did nothing to stop it.
i’m sure she hates me. but i have to try somehow, right?
question is, she didn’t have a social media anymore, and i can’t just speak to her now that she was sitting opposite my table.
i kept on pondering as i heard a little bit of her conversation, about her life.
i guess she moved to australia, and worked in a lawfirm in the outskirts. so unpredictable of her. no one would’ve guessed that in a million years.
i watched as i see her smile as she listened to what her parents were saying.
i cherished the smile since i didn’t know when was the next time i’d see her.
she asked the waiter for the bill, covering the whole cost of her and her huge family’s meal.
damn, this girl is too rich for her own good.
she puts down the bill on the table, also leaving a generous tip for the waiter that served them. she stood up to walk after her family, needing to pass my table.
since she had been oblivious to her surroundings, i didn’t expect her to spot us, to notice us.
but i was wrong.

reaction: when you bite them out of the blue; ateez
req: can I request for a ateez reaction where you randomly bite them and then giggle if they get surprised? :D thank you!
a/n: thank you for requesting! hope you enjoy it even though they are more like word vomits rather than reactions. also i tried working the giggling part into some but some don't have it, hope you're fine with that!
taglist: @closer-stars @jeongyunhoed @fairyofdusk
genre - fluff, suggestive | pairing - ateez x reader | warnings - food mention (yunho), bathing together (mingi), mention of a possible zombie apocalypse (jongho)
⭒❃.✮:▹ seonghwa
you were on the subway with seonghwa after a long day doing whatever couples do and you were just, plain exhausted. seated right next to your lover, and with his broad shoulders poking into your 'territory', you had two choices in your mind.
do you want to lay your head on his shoulder, or do you want to chomp on it? unfortunately for seonghwa, you find resting your head on shoulders rather uncomfortable. so, without a care in the world for the other commuters around, you leaned down and caught the edge of your lover's shoulder with your mouth, causing him to jump a little in his seat, his attention now drawn away from his phone.
"what are you doing?" seonghwa didn't mean it in a hostile way, he was just surprised, and very rightfully so.
"im tired," you answered with a slight giggle. this made the boy furrow his eyebrows in confusion, which only caused you to giggle even harder, turning some heads in your direction.
"are you trying to eat my shoulder to gain some energy then?" seonghwa laughed, finding your actions rather adorable.
you shook your head. "no, im asking for some attention so i don't fall asleep right now." seonghwa rolled his eyes playfully at your reply, knowing just exactly what you meant, and went in for a peck on your lips. he would stay there for a little longer but it would be rather rude for the people witnessing it.
"now, that should keep you awake."
⭒❃.✮:▹ hongjoong
hongjoong's always busy. if he's not in the practice room dancing to the same few tunes up to ten hours at a time nearing comeback week, then he would be in his studio pressing on the many buttons that even after months you still can not tell apart its functions. if even that was not it, he was in his dorms, cooped up in his room, either playing around with some old clothes at the corner of his closet or reading a new book he had picked up at the bookstore down the street of where he gets 45% of his fashion accessories from.
"so when do you have time for me?" you asked with a pout, rather upset that even after inviting you to hang out in his studio he was still caught up with work.
"just five more minutes, i promise," hongjoong said, cupping your face with both of his hands, the cold metal rings adorning his slender fingers almost causing you to shake him off.
"you said that five minutes ago." you shot a glare at him before turning your head slightly to the side, and without warning, bit gently on the fleshy part of his right palm.
his eyes opened wide at you, that was the last thing he would ever expect anyone to do. "babe, what..." he tried to pull his hand out but you refused to let go, not until you heard what you wanted to hear.
"okay, okay, im sorry. ill stop work now," hongjoong finally relented. your bite wasn't painful but he would rather you not. he sighed as he saved his work and got off his chair, extending out his hand to help you off the couch.
"next time i want something, im using that back on you."
⭒❃.✮:▹ yunho
you and yunho have a movie night together once every two weeks, regardless of what the both of you actually get down to that night, the movie night will always happen. usually, yunho would grab a few snacks and drinks from the convenience store just right below the company but he had completely forgotten that it was movie night until he was already on the way back to his dorms. so not only was he late to arrive at your place, he also came empty handed.
"im hungry," you whined, your stomach growling. you couldn't focus on the movie like that, but you didn't have any food at home and the nearest convenience store wasn't really at a convenient distance.
"im sorry about that, let's get food delivered." yunho was quick, his food delivery app already opened, the wide array of choices displayed on the screen.
"i might just pass out from hunger by the time the food arrives," you sighed, laying your head on his abdomen. it was currently the peak hour for food delivery.
yunho was just about to pat your head lovingly when you went ahead and bit down on his lean abs, surprising yunho so much so that he pushed on your forehead so that you were now staring at him in his eyes. "do that again and you might pass out from something else."
⭒❃.✮:▹ yeosang
yeosang was scrolling through twitter while you were on tiktok, watching videos after videos of horror tiktoks. you can't say that you aren't deathly afraid of them, but you're always too intrigued to not watch them. yeosang, on the other hand, would just prefer seeing what his fans were up to. but being as sweet as he is, he offers you a hand to hold as emotional support. said hand went from simply being held, to getting squeezed, then pulled, dug in with your fingers, all as they slowly travelled up to your chin. he doesn't mind, after all, he likes it when you fiddle around with his hands.
but what he didn't expect at all, was for you to bite on his fingers. it was definitely a mistake on your part, you had meant to bite on your own fingers but forgot that you were holding his hand. yeosang yelped out in pain, quickly pulling his hand away from you, who was looking at him quite guiltily.
"oh my god, im so sor-"
"oh my god." yeosang stared down at his phone screen, eyes even wider than when you had bit him as his pupils dart around, unsure of what to do now.
"what's wrong?"
"i liked a fan's tweet by accident...." this was exactly why you had told yeosang to stop using the official ateez account.
"quick, unlike it!" you told him as you burst into laughter at his carelessness.
"hey! it's your fault, you don't get to laugh!"
⭒❃.✮:▹ san
with his hair being too long to be let down comfortably, san has started to tie it up into a little ponytail whenever he can. you find it adorable, there really was a reason why people call it the 'apple hair'. everytime you walk past him when his hair is up, you can't help but to smack the ponytail. you have done it so many times that san has absolutely no reaction to it anymore, just letting you do as you please.
however, while walking pass him today, you felt this urge to bite, not the hair, but his head. don't ask questions, it happens. you hesitated for a moment, wondering if you should just do the usual and then leave. but once you saw how his little ponytail shook, you couldn't stop yourself. you leaned down and bit on him softly.
now, that, that gave san the shock of his life. he whipped his head around and gave you a questioning look. it didn't hurt, but..."why did you do that?" it made you giggle.
"nothing, i just wanted to." you shrugged your shoulders before patting him gently at the spot you had bit him. right as you were about to leave, he gripped onto your wrist and pulled you back.
"you bend down," he ordered, his other arm holding onto the chair as he twists his body towards the back.
"w-what?" but you bend down anyways, only to feel a bite on your head as well.
"i wanted to as well," san said as he broke into a smile, the corners of his eyes lifting up to resemble a cat eye eyeliner. "nyam."
⭒❃.✮:▹ mingi
"hey, would you scrub my back for me?" mingi asked rather shyly, handing you the body scrub without turning back too much.
"yea of course." the two of you were too close to even be shy over something like that, but leave it up to your soft-hearted giant to feel so.
once you were done helping him, you passed the body scrub back to mingi so that he could place it on the shower rack, pressing your chest onto his back. "you smell so good," you told him, burrowing your nose into his neck as your arms wrapped around his waist.
"good news is, you smell the same," mingi chuckled, his hand going up to caress your face as he tilts his head to rest it on yours.
"i wanna see you."
"nope."
well, if he doesn't want to turn around, you will make him. with that, you gave him a quick bite on his shoulder, one that wasn't too hard but enough to leave a slight impression on his skin. it made him yelp out in pain, and more importantly, whip his head around to see what you were up to. then, you swooped in and landed a wet kiss on his plump lips. you merely saw the opportunity and took it, he can't blame you for that.
"i-" he was at a loss for words and that made you giggle, the giggles becoming louder the more he struggled to form sentences.
"oh no, you're going to get it from me, babe."
⭒❃.✮:▹ wooyoung
you have been eyeing him since this morning, and if you think he hasn't noticed, then you're the stupid one here. wooyoung also knows exactly why you were staring at him like a predator to its prey. he was wearing a tank top, his biceps on full display. it has become a more common sight in their recent stages but he never wears them around you, whatever his reason was.
"you want to touch it, don't you?" he said in a teasing tone as he flexed his arm muscles right in front of your eyes. it took every ounce of energy in you to not nod, not wanting to give in to him that easily. he would never stop teasing you. "you're acting indifferent but you looked so, should i say, hungry, the whole day."
"i have better things to do than to stare at you." you turned away from him and his muscular arms. it was the best thing to do right now, for both his and your sake.
"better things as in, imagining how it would feel, i bet."
"jung wooyoung,"
"hm?"
"bring your arm closer."
"see, i knew it." no he didn't, because he almost sent a punch to your face when you chomped down on his biceps. and he probably would have if you weren't looking at him with such innocent eyes.
"that's what you wanted to do?" wooyoung asked in disbelief. he had totally underestimated you and your, 'thirst'.
"okay, pay back time. give me your arm."
⭒❃.✮:▹ jongho
"are you busy right now?" you asked as you entered his room, not knocking since the door was already wide open.
"not really, just doing some online shopping," he replied, his eyes still not leaving his screen. he has been stuck in his seat for a few hours already. you shook your head, not knowing how he could even shop for so long. "do you want to get something too?"
"no. and that's lame-" you dragged his chair away from his desk-"come do something fun with me." jongho narrowed his eyes at you, your definition of fun was not the same as his. you tend to have some bizarre ideas on how to entertain yourself. but he couldn't refuse you, besides he probably should get out of his seat by now.
"what do you need me for?"
"just stand back facing me," you directed before you went on to explain. "so i was watching some zombie apocalyptic movies, right?" jongho already had a bad feeling about this but he won't even try to question it. "we have similar pain tolerance, correct?" he nodded. "okay good, i just want to know how painful my death would be in a zombie apocalypse."
jongho really wanted to put you on pause and question just what was going through your head at the moment but you were too fast, already biting down on his shoulders, more specifically his trapezius muscles. it hurts, and it hurts bad. you did not show mercy at all, it was as if you had turned into a blood hungry zombie yourself.
"what the f-" he held himself back from spitting vulgarities out at you. because he has a much better plan on how to get back at you.
"i want to try something out as well...." oh no, you better run for your life.

Electric Love - Lee Felix
Word count: 1.5k
Genre: fluff
A/N: This is the sixth installment in the Electric Love Series. You can check out the others here.
There were a few cons that came with being neighbors with your best friend. Sometimes him and his friends were too loud and sometimes they would even barge into your house to steal your food. You swore you were going to murder Felix that one time they barged in and you were doing a face mask that made you look like an alien. Felix’s friends were hot, and a bunch of hot guys do not need to be seeing you like that.
However, there were definitely more pros of having your best friend live next door to you. Number one being that he had hot friends. You can’t help but stare at them from your bedroom window whenever they’re swimming in Felix’s pool. Another beneficial thing is that you literally can hang out whenever you want to. You guys basically have movie nights every other night. His sisters are basically your sisters, they even tell you sometimes that they prefer you over him.
While you mindlessly scroll through your twitter feed, you get a text from Felix that says, “You up for a swim?” You respond with, “Be there in 10.” Peeking out your bedroom window, you check to see if any of Felix’s other friends were there. You were especially keeping an eye out for Seungmin and Jisung. Seungmin because you thought he was kind of cute and Jisung because you were looking to get payback for that prank he played on you the last time you saw him. However, as you looked, you saw no silhouettes or figures. So, you figured that either it would only be you and Felix hanging out today or they were all inside his house.
After you finished getting ready, you made your way to Felix’s house and when you rung his doorbell, his mother had answered the door.
“Oh, hello dear. Felix is out in the backyard. You can go right on ahead. Oh, and let me know if you want me to make you guys something.”
“Alright, thanks Mrs. Lee.”
Making your way into the house and to the backyard, you spot Felix through the glass door. His back is faced towards you, so as quietly as you can, you slide the door and sneak up behind him.
“Boo.”
Frightened, Felix jumps and clutches his chest, “Y/N, don’t scare me like that, I could’ve dropped my croissant.”
You were about to tell him to stop making vine references, when you realized that he was actually holding a croissant. Shrugging, you rip off a piece of his croissant and pop it into your mouth.
“Great, first you scare me and then you take my food, what next? Are you going to take my friends too?”
“Felix, no offence, but I don’t want your friends. Speaking of your friends, they coming over?”
“No, why? So you can make googly eyes at Seungmin?”
Offended, you say, “I do not make googly eyes at him.” Felix gives you a look, “He’s cute, I can’t help it. I can’t help that all your friends are cute.”
“If all my friends are cute, does that make me cute?” Felix asks, raising his eyebrows at you.
Gently patting him on the cheek, “The cutest.”
You make your way to the pool, and slowly get into it. The water cools down your burning skin as it envelops you and you relax into it. Floating in the water, eyes closed, you find peace, but that peace is interrupted once you hear a loud “CANNONBALL!” Water all around you splashes everywhere, and you are forced to open your eyes.
Similar to the way Dave from Alvin and the Chipmunks screams Alvin’s name you yell, “Felix!”
He gives you a cheeky grin, “Oops.” He goes underwater and begins swimming away from you. You swim after him and reach out for his ankles when you get close enough. You pull at his leg, and when you hear his scream underwater, you come up and begin laughing. Felix joins you in your laughing fit once he comes up for air.
“C’mon Felix, two for two.”
“You’re such a meanie, Y/N.” He splashes water towards you. Suddenly he says, “Wait, I just thought of something.” He gets out of the pool and heads towards the table where all your stuff was. You see that he grabs his phone and a water bottle. Approaching the pool, smiling he says, “Let’s film Tiktoks.”
Felix was always on Tiktok, he even knew all the dances, you, however, knew nothing about it. You didn’t even have the app downloaded. The only Tiktoks you saw were the ones Felix showed you or the ones you saw reposted on another platform. Him and his friends were always filming Tiktoks, but he’s never asked you to film one with him, that is until today.
With a serious look on your face, you tell him, “I’m not doing the renegade, Felix.”
“Y/N,” he whines.
“Anything, but the renegade.”
“Fine.” He sets the water bottle by the edge of the pool and slips back into the pool, phone in hand. “You remember that song ‘Shake It’ by Metro Station? There’s an easy dance for it that we can do.”
The phrase ‘easy dance’ differs between you and Felix. Felix happens to be an amazing dancer that can easily learn dances, you on the other hand, were not that good of a dancer. You would have to watch the dance a hundred times for you to remember it. Luckily for you, Felix is a good teacher.
It takes you approximately 20 minutes to learn the dance and 15 more minutes for the two of you to record it. When the two of you watch the final video, you laugh at how stiff you look compared to Felix. He tells you that your stiff dancing is cute, and you thank him by splashing him with water.
“Let’s film one more Tiktok.”
“Fine. This better be the last one.”
“It’ll be the best one yet.”
“What’re we doing for this one?”
“All you have to do is be your pretty self.” You’ll never get used to Felix’s random compliments. He even does it in front of the guys and as the peanut gallery, they always go “ooh” and “awe,” at this point you’ve learned to ignore them.
Listening to Felix’s words, you lift your feet off from the bottom of the pool, and let yourself float, watching as Felix presses the record button. A song that you don’t recognize plays from the speaker, and Felix lightly paddles towards you. You look between him and the camera, curious as to what was supposed to happen.
Felix comes up to you and gently wraps an arm around your waist and begins to spin you around in the water. He does this all the time to you, so instead of screaming, you laugh to show that you’re having fun. Felix is laughing along with you and just when you’re about to ask him what you guys were supposed to be doing, when he suddenly holds you by your face. Before you could say anything else, he presses his lips against yours. You automatically wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him back.
You’ve always known that you had feelings for Felix, but you were afraid to do or say anything to him in fear that you would ruin your friendship. You would rather have him in your life as your friend than not have him in your life at all. Now that you’re in this position, however, you were ready to risk it all, obviously Felix was.
By now, the video and audio have stopped, but you’re still in each other’s arms, lips still moving against one another. Eventually you run out of air and pull apart from him, giggling. You examine his face and watch as a water droplet from his hair drops down to his eyelashes. You think to yourself, “Gosh, he’s so gorgeous.’ Another thought comes to your mind, and you can’t help, but let it escape your mouth.
“Is this how most Tiktoks end? If so, I think we should film more Tiktoks together.” The pair of you laugh at your remark.
“No, but if you want it to, ours can.”
“I think I’d like that.”
“Do you guys need anything-oh, uh, never mind, I see that you two are a bit busy.” Felix’s mother quickly leaves the two of you before you guys can even separate from each other.
“Well, dinner is definitely going to be awkward tonight.”
“I just know that my house is about to get a call from your mom.”
“If it makes you feel any better, I think this video is going to blow up.” You give him a blank look before you put your hands on his shoulders and push him into the water.
You hate to admit it, but Felix was right. He posted the Tiktok and it got a lot of views. It got so many views that you even downloaded the app to read the comments. The boys wouldn’t shut up about it for days, but it doesn’t matter to you, because of Tiktok you now have a boyfriend and you have a new favorite song.
A/N: Wouldn’t filming tiktoks with Felix be so fun? Feel free to let me know what you guys thought of this, and if you were in the areas affected by hurricane Laura, I hope that you are safe! ❤️

Hi, I literally have not watched Creepshow Art's videos in several years and I have NO IDEA what anything anyone is saying means. Could you explain it to me, please?
Oh boy, you better strap in.
So, popular art and commentary Youtuber Creepshow Art (also known as Shannon) was hit with some drama a few days ago when it was revealed that she had been posting on the lolcow forums for the past few years. For those who don't know, lolcow is basically 4chan but for drama? Just a general cesspool. Because Shannon cannot shut the fuck up about herself, and there are rules on the site against self-promo and also doxxing, when Shannon chose to dox HER OWN SISTER'S TWITTER the admins de-anoned her and made public all of her posts over the years. It is known that people on these sites can easily pull your IP, so the fact that she was so reckless here....I have no words. But basically, she had been shit talking her close friends in the Youtube art community, as well as used slurs against LGBTQ people, made racist comments and fat shaming comments, and talked for and against herself, both of which could be considered fishing for attention for her channel. Now, this is a big fucking problem on it's own since she's the type to go hard for social justice issues, and has completely dragged others for doing less than she's done here.
And here's where she made the biggest mistake of her career. She didn't admit to it. She instead claimed her "stalker" Amy, a woman who has been harassing her for the past decade, spoofed her IP and has been posting on lolcow pretending to be her. Anonymously. On the off chance this would all one day be discovered. Over the course of 3 years. As she also created sock puppet accounts to have arguments with herself using different IPs. All very elaborate. And once again, this in itself is bad. But it's not this, but what this move led to that revealed more about Creepshow than anyone could have predicted.
Another Youtuber named Emily Artful dropped a 2 hour bomb of a video consisting of evidence she has compiled over the last 8 years, evidence that includes IP addresses. Shannon was dating, and is now married to, Emily's abusive ex. And they have been stalking and harassing her for 8 years. Like, they have nudes of her dating back to when she was a minor, they have called her place of work to get her fired, Shannon may have even became a YouTuber just to fuck with her, type stalking and harassing. The things Shannon and her husband have done to Emily over the course of YEARS is just insane. It goes beyond petty Youtube drama and has revealed that Creepshow Art is a fucking monster. And that's really scary considering how popular she was and how many people had contact with her. Though there were hints over the years (like how she drove someone by the name of Hopeless Peaches to attempt unalive). It's just...a lot.
Oh, and about Amy? Creepshow has made videos about her before. And now that Emily has come forward, it has not escaped people how eerily similar Shannon's stalker story is to what she was actually doing to Emily this whole time. It would appear that she was flipping the roles and putting this story out there to 1. garner sympathy because she likes attention and 2. create an environment where if Emily EVER came forward, she would be immediately called a liar because it would appear that she was copying Shannon's situation.
I never ended up watching a lot of Creepshow myself. She'd be in my recommendeds sometimes, so I have a passive idea of her. But something that really hit me was I knew from what I did watch that Shannon was previously homeless. She spoke of this a few times, and about how hard it was, and how this channel saved her. That was a lie. Her and her bf chose to be homeless for the sake of saving money on rent and for the sake of ~art~. She chose to be homeless and purposefully omitted that information from her audience to garner sympathy. Meanwhile, sending Emily's nudes to her place of work legitimately caused her to be homeless. It's just one of many pieces of a fucked up puzzle, but because it was one of the things I remembered about her, it really shocked me. I can't even imagine what the people who were actually friends with her or looked up to her are going through right now.
She has not made any videos or posts since then but has been deleting her social media and some of her videos like crazy. If there was any doubt that the accusations against her are true....innocent people don't hide and delete, do they? I'm curious what her next move will be when she comes back, because she surely will. Her whole life was online. But there's no coming back from this. She's an actual danger and it just goes to show you need to be careful with who you trust online. Being a big name Youtuber doesn't mean you're a good person behind the scenes.
There's a lot to this story I can't possibly address in one post so check out Emily Artful's video if you want. She's been putting up with a lot for almost a decade so maybe show her channel some love too.

8 Ways to Properly Promote Your Business on Social Media
Social media is now playing much larger roles in our lives than it did decades ago, and one of those essential roles is social media promotion. In truth, any marketer or business owner that has not already jumped on the social media bandwagon is way behind the times. Social media promotion has revolutionized the traditional approaches to marketing businesses so that almost everything is now digitized and operations can even be conducted from devices like phones and laptops.
A key element of promotion that social media has majorly streamlined is communication. Businesses no longer have to send out one-way messages to clients and wait for ages to get back replies or no replies at all.Through social media platforms and messaging, there is a newfound speed and simplicity to business correspondences, and reaching out to potential and intending clients to promote products and services has never been much easier.
Now that millions of businesses are conducting their operations and pushing their brands on social media sites, only the businesses that are doing social media promotion the right way can succeed standing on the benefits that the phenomenon presents. Therefore, if you are looking to create more visibility for your brand and propagate a growth in revenue through increased customer patronage for your business using social media, you must take an appropriate approach to achieve this. In light of this, here are 8 ways to properly promote your business on social media. And don’t let the idea intimidate you because it’s all a lot easier than you think!
1. Start with a Goal.
A journey without a destination is no journey at all, but an aimless roaming around and a pure waste of time. In this same vein, plunging into social media marketing without starting out with set goals is a foolproof recipe for disaster.
Goals are very important because they help you know, business-wise, where you stand currently, where you want to get to, and how you are going to get there. Thus, having clear and distinct goals makes it easier for you to shape your social media content to achieve these goals.
Are you looking to boost your business’ patronage? Rack up the number of viewers or increase the reach of your content? Increase the revenue coming into your business by making direct sales on the social platforms? Develop strong customer relationships?Or create awareness to the public on important subject matters in the environment?
These are some excellent goals to base the construction of your business profile(s) when promoting on social media. For business objectives, you can create attractive posts about the products you sell, post captivating video content to share sufficient info about a service, give your followers content that showcasesthe nature of your brand, publicize business events like promotional sales, and so on. For awareness purposes, you can provide content that educates, informs, and entertains (all at once if possible!), and engage in intellectual discussions with people so that everyone can learn from one another.
2. Decide Which Platforms You Want to Focus On.
There are several social media platformsand forums on which you can opt to promote your business on. In fact, their number is ever-increasing!This is because, currently, there is a general awareness of the importance of social media promotion and communication in the business world, and the discovery of a secondary demand for niche-based platforms and forums so that distinct communities of people having similar interests can connect and interact with one another in spaces designed especially for them.
When deciding which platforms you want to focus on in terms of marketing your brand or business, you should take your customers and the nature of your business into account. Where can your target audiences be found majorly? Such platforms are where your major business profiles should be set up so you can easily connect with potential clients and them with you. Conducting research using social media demographics can help you figure out what social media sites these should be.
In addition, which sites will suit your products and the kind of content you wish to post best? For instance, if you own a hair care line of products and want to broadcast tutorial videos for your buyers on the best ways to use the products, then YouTube is an obvious choice.
The most popular social media platforms for brand development and marketing today are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and most recently, Tiktok. Thus, you can choose the best ones for you based on the nature of your business and the kind of content you’re set on publishing.
3. Get to Know Your Audience.
Another reason why using social media promotion is so effective is that businesses can micro-target their audiences. To do this, you have to get to know your audience first.
Start by noting the patterns among your current customers. You can do this easily by making use of social media analytics tools to track, collect, and analyze relevant trend data on customer behavior towards your social media accounts. With this sort of valuable information, you can then tailor your content to keep your customers loyal and engaged and maximize the appeal of your business to anyone who comes across your profile.
For example, if you find out through analytics that your customers or target audience are majorly active between 7:00pm and 8:00pm, then that is the exact period within which you should have your new posts put up. Some social media sites like Facebook and Instagram have inbuilt analytics tools, but you can also find many other social media analytics apps and online tools that canprovide you with this kind of data.
Additionally, as a business looking to encourage more patronage from your audience, it will also work in your favor if you are able to influence the patterns and decisions of your potential customers. Present yourself to them as an authority in whatever industry you operate under by displaying elevated levels of knowledge and expertise through your content, and you will find that people will increasingly begin to pay rapt attention to anything you have to say to them. From this, you can also successfully build a devoted community around your brand that will only continue to grow over time.
4. Stalk Your Competitor or the Brands You Like.
Yes, you read that right. You must research every move that your competition is making on their social media to know what they are doing right and how to do it better, as well as what they are doing wrong and how to avoid doing the same. While you’re certainly not looking to copy anyone, observing what your competition is doing is a quick and efficient way to learn what willwork for a business like yours and what won’t.
This doesn’t only apply to your competitors but also to the brands that you like and look up to. Take examining their social media promotion techniques as a form of inspiration to help you generate unique and failsafe ideas for your own profiles.
5. Create a Social Media Calendar.
A mistake that many businesses on social media often make is either leaving it till the last minute to figure out what they are going to post or making unscheduled and unplanned posts. This, more often than not, leads to them putting out low-quality content. Absence of pre-planning can result in more mistakes like repeated posts or forgetting to remain active on one of your accounts.
A simple remedy is to create a social media calendar. This type of content calendar helps you avoid making mistakes and properly preparethe right things to post.It also serves as good assistant forbuilding solid strategies that will enable you meet your goals.
To make a social media calendar, you can make use of a regular notebook or planner, or even a standard calendar to pre-organize your content. What you can plan out includes yourwrite-ups or multimedia content, captions, hashtags, links, and the likes.
Remember that while having a pre-planned posting schedule will prove the most beneficial for your business on social media, spontaneity still has its perks. Real-time interaction with your customers breathes life into your business so that people know that they are dealing with much more than just a page on the internet.
6. Create Engaging Social Content.
Whatever your social media goals may be, getting people to engage with your content will always help you achieve them. Using the customer trend data that you gather from analytics tools, you can achieve high levels of engagement by molding content that people want to see.
Also, don’t forget to switch up the format of your content. There’s so many formats to choose from: informative messages or articles, inspirational quotes, eye-catching images, interesting video content, funny GIFs, and so much more. Social media platforms today also offer novel formats that you can take full advantage ofin putting out highly engaging social content, like Facebook Stories, Instagram Live videos, Twitter Polls, YouTube Shorts, and so on. Regardless of what you opt for, planning with a content calendar will help you keep all your content at its best.

7. Audit What’s Working.
It is very important that you monitor the performance of your content and posts, and then make use of regular analyses to refine your social media publications so as to get better reception from your audience.Luckily, there are many online analytics tools available to help you gauge the success of your social media marketing efforts.
With every promotional effort you make, you must always work to give maximum value. Always ask yourself, “How can I add more value?” This is one of the biggest secrets to building stellar customer relationships and attaining high customer retention.
Your focus, however, should not only remain on your repeat customers but should be equally divided between that and obtaining new clients.
8. Audit What Doesn't Work.
In the same way that you retain and improve on what’s working, you must also watch out for what promotional content and strategies may not be doing so well in meeting the goals and expectations that you have set. It’s okay to go back to the drawing board and start afresh, reevaluating the things you were doing before and how you can change them so that your promotions can do better.
Be careful not to over-promote. Besides trying to make sales, your content should also be more entertaining for your audience so they are not put off by you selling yourself too hard.
And hopefully, you always get positive feedback from your audience. However, if you happen to receive any negative response, you should quickly and carefully address the situation. A little public apology or a kindly offered solution can oftentimes turn an upset customer into an applauding patron.

as someone who was using a dial up connection at ten years old in the early 00′s, i am finding i recognize the internet a little less every day.
now this is not something i am saying as an old person who isn’t up to date on the new stuff. i have been an active user of pretty much every form of social media going back to xanga, and as a person who did not have a lot of friends locally for a long time the internet was my primary form of socializing with others who shared my mindset.
this is coming from someone who finds it hard to see how the internet is influencing our well-being and how we experience society around us. it’s such a multi-tiered effect, and it influences everyone on every political and social spectrum. it pervades our existence now in a way it didn’t maybe eight years ago. as a child i always believed in the internet as our way to access information and education, to see the world outside our borders, gain broader understandings and even find interests we never would have otherwise knew existed.
i still feel that way, but i also feel that it has taken a backseat to something so new i don’t exactly know the right terms for it at this time.
while i always knew the age old “if you saw it on the internet, it’s definitely real /s” adage, it’s getting out of hand. while i always checked up on sources to see if something was a hoax or not, i found there was some solace in knowing some reputable sources existed. now i find it’s very hard to fact-check most sources i once found reputable. i also feel as if the new influx of internet users don’t even know or think they need to do that. the things i see people believing entirely are something out of a science fiction novel, now. it is so upsetting to use any social media and see those things constantly trending and re-appearing on dashboards and timelines. false narratives are normal. it’s so hard to be faced with that every day.
not only that, but i am bone-tired that every website, social media or not, has become a place where people are just duking it out constantly. while it is important to have an open dialogue about important points, it is also sometimes matters of trivial opinions like which show is better, or which definition of something is more valid. the social media i grew up with was more blogging until myspace and facebook, but even the early days it was more of a social place. we shared interests, we founded circles of friends. we came together. now i feel it is so hard to find a place to call your own tribes. we as a people across all traits are constantly redefining enemies and no longer seeking friends. when i log into things i am just... depressed. i miss being parts of groups where we used to uplift each other. i just don’t see as much of that anymore as we used to have. in passing i’ve seen polls where people say they are too afraid of confrontation to make friends, and the internet accounts they have leave them feeling more lonely than ever. they are afraid to admit things like what show they like or that they actually like that band that everyone hates. not even high ranking political topics but... entertainment.
i don’t even recognize a lot of news sites anymore. some of the headlines are just shocking... how can someone call themselves a news agency and publish some of the stuff they do? shouldn’t there be standards that say you can’t just make up something wild to stir people up and broadcast it to the world? a lot of this gets tangled up in the internet now when it goes viral, and a part of me wishes these crazy lies would just not get shared so the story dies. it’s the kind of stuff that doesn’t dignify a read or a share.
not to mention what the internet does to our self-esteem. i used to be happy when i was online. i used to see what my friends were up to and be happy for them. i used to share stuff. my timelines and dashboards were always an interesting read. now it’s hard to go on and feel better. websites like instagram push you to perform constantly like a trained monkey and penalize you for using other apps or taking a break. creativity doesn’t abide that way, and it’s no surprise we have such bad burnout under the stress. i won’t even talk about facebook, they killed the reach for creatives and small businesses years ago. plus, instagram is just this slideshow of people showing you how much better their live is than yours (spoiler alert: it rarely is unless you follow a rich influencer who was likely wealthy and privileged before they signed up for an account). twitter is impossible, it’s just become an angry swarm of different kinds of hornets.
like many people, i took a break from my creative work on instagram during the pandemic. it was hard to look at people going out in spite of lockdown, and it was hard to push myself to create when i was just living in a place of pandemic fear and uncertainty. when i did post again ready to continue my commission work, they punished me. my reach dropped from 500+ per post to 12 per post. my content did not change. immediately, this made me feel like no one cared about my work anymore, and that i was forgotten (especially as many of my friends continued to be productive and post nearly daily during the pandemic and kept their engagement levels). i really thought no one cared about my stuff anymore. that is the lie instagram wants to tell you to force you to keep going. they use secret programming they won’t disclose to destroy your self worth and force you to use the features they want (such as the act of using their video editing app gets you higher reach than if you uploaded a tiktok video). why are we even using things like this anymore when we know how they make us feel?
it’s not that the internet is all bad. we have done so many great things with it. it has changed our lives for the better in more ways i could list and it has made a lot of advantages easily accessible for people who did not have those advantages before. it’s just... i miss the days before any of this was normal. we used to install anti-malware and now we give all our life’s information to facebook and we don’t bat an eye. we used to be private and anonymous and now we’re telling everyone everything at great personal risk. we have lawmakers engaging in immature twitter fights, for crying out loud.
i have no idea how to combat any of this. it’s a problem so great it is international. how can anyone reclaim the internet and suck out all that poison that invades our lives?
