The covers of "Muppet Sherlock Holmes," a 2010 four part comic book mini series written by Patrick Storck and illustrated by Amy Mebberson. With Gonzo as Holmes and Fozzie as Watson, they spoof on "The Adventure of the Speckled Band," "A Scandal in Bohemia," "The Red Headed League," and "Musgrove Ritual."

"All" the Kindergarten 2 kids as ponies :D!
*All except the experimented kids lol sorry Madison fans…
Tiny bit of unnecessary exposition of my mlp au rules;
-The earliest a pony can get their cutie mark is around age 5, AKA kindergarten years, but it’s not abnormal to be a blank flank until age 18/puberty stops. The “prime” time for a pony to get their cutie marks is when puberty starts around age 10-15, cause this is when people start finding out who they are and all that stuff.
-In my au, ponies are the only sentient species. There is pony racism, though just like irl, it’s based off of the coat color and hair texture instead of species like in mlp. Though unlike in the show, people are much more accepting and have moved past those discriminatory views.
-Ponies start learning to use their magic/how to fly around age 5, and are usually mastered it around age 8.
Um I think that’s it for worldbuilding OK PONY TIME!
Lily is an earth pony! She got her cutie mark when she found Billy and ‘bloomed’ again after she ‘wilted’. It basically represents her resilience and determination after going through such a bad time in her life. “Waterlily” came from her actual name, and I thought it fit her nicely :-)
Billy is also an earth pony; he got his cutie mark in the second game when he successfully rescued the trapped kids with Lily. It represents his inquisitive personality and also matches his sister’s! :3 he’s slightly duller because of spending so much time in the lab. I came up with his name by just finding another kind of Lily that matches with Waterlily ^_^
Kid is an earth pony— he got his cutie mark on Monday after completing his first mission. The apple represents how he compartmentalizes his time in his head; how he has a certain amount of apples to complete a task. The compass shows how he’s able to help people with what they need. I made his name by just translating Kid into pony language :P
Nugget!! He’s a pegasus who’s alright at best when it comes to flying. He got his cutie mark before Monday, when he made his first Nugget Cave. It basically represents his love for digging and nuggets. He flies people up and down his Nugget Cave when they want to see, but since he’s still not the best at flying, he needs the nuggets to cushion their landing. I wanted to keep “Nugget” in his name, and Gold Nugget was right there, so that’s how he got his name lol!
Felix Huxley :0 he’s a unicorn with pretty good magic, he can lift most small objects and can pull around Ted if he feels like it. He got his cutie mark after Cain’s Not Able, it represents his loyalty to AppleSoft and his dedication to his reputation/image. His name slightly matches wirh Ted, though it’s supposed to be more “serious” and “business-y”.
Ted Huxley ^_^ also a unicorn, his magic strength is comparable to Felix’s. He got his cutie mark after the alt ending of Cain’s Not Able— because of the loops, both of them just woke up “randomly” on Tuesday with their marks. It shows his dedication to the company, but through his personal values instead of image. I came up with his name by trying to think of one that could be “nicknamed” two times, like how Theodore can become Ted and Teddy. So, only Felix calls him Stormy, while everyone else calls him Storm. Also, the suffix ‘Bright’ seemed nicer than ‘Flare’, even though they’re comparable in definition. So I thought it fit!
Monty is a unicorn, his magic is really only good for moving around small objects and not much more. It’s really helpful for making gadgets, which is also how he got his cutie mark! It represents his ability to make gizmos as well as being a darn good business man. He got it after he sold a bunch of stuff his first week of kindergarten. I thought the phrase “circular logic” fit Monty and that’s really it on his name lol
Ozzy! I’ve drawn him before but I changed his cutie mark slightly :P he’s a pegasus, pretty alright at flying but he doesn’t really care to get better at the moment. He flaps his wings when he gets overwhelmed :’) He got his cutie mark in science class after looking at a plant under the microscope. I came up with his name because he comes across as kinda soft and timid, like the word ‘weeping’, but can pack a mean punch, like the stinging nettle plant.
Buggs is an earth pony that got cutie mark by just… overall being a delinquent. But! He can be smart, which is where the magnifying glass comes in; it represents his ability to make and go through with plans if he wants to. His name doesn’t represent much, I just thought it fit really well :3
Jerome was a TOUGH one to work with cause there is NOT a much to work with with him :( but!! I tried!! So firstly he tried SO hard to make his cutie mark a yo-yo. But he ended up getting it on Tuesday, representing his resilience for getting thru his emotional turbulence. He’s a unicorn with moderately strong magic. I came up with his name just by looking up pony name ideas because again I had no idea how to do him and I thought it fit!
Carla my beloved ❤️ she’s a pegasus and by far the best at flying out of everyone, despite having kinda small wings. She got her cutie mark by sneaking into Dr. Danner’s room for the first time and changing the lesson plan— it represents her being sneaky and skillfully getting into places she shouldn’t. “Stormchaser” came from how Carla loves doing things she knows is dangerous/will get her in trouble for the thrill of it, just like storm chasing. Since Ted already goes by Storm, she goes by Chase.
Cindy’s a pegasus, but she’s the least skilled at flying despite having the biggest wings. She got her cutie mark by bullying Lily in front of the whole class 😭 it represents her being feisty and explosive while having such a sweet appearance. Her name is ironic, considering she’s the least gentle kid at school, probably.
Penny’s our last one so far! She’s a unicorn with the strongest magic, as it was mechanically enhanced. Her cutie mark is a walkie-talkie going off with a heart in the display, showing her tattletale-y nature despite having good intentions. She got it the first time she “sent someone to the principal’s office”. She is honest at heart, which is where her name came from.
Skill of magic from strongest to weakest:
-Penny
-Felix
-Ted
-Jerome
-Monty
Skill of flight from strongest to weakest:
-Carla
-Nugget
-Ozzy
-Cindy
THAT’S ALL for this batch!! I’m working on the adults AS WE SPEAK and will actually include the hall monitors this time lol. Anywyas PLS LIKE PLS REBLOG TYYY

Sundyne fullbody
2nd to last, the big nasty bug lizards!! (Aka sundyne, if you dont want to get kicked across the room)
Here's the evil exposition dump:
Sundyne are under the Cerest label umbrella with Dorest and Rox, but are genetically distinct enough that they aren’t really the same thing.
It’s a commonly held theory among other species that they’re some kind of artificially created Cerest offshoot that went wrong and overtook their creators, but that’s crazy talk and bringing that up around a trad Sundyne is a great way to get snapped at.
They share some things with their Drecu cousins and I would suggest reading their stuff to get the general vibe, but the gist is that Sundyne also have serviceable but poor temperature regulation, their eyes aren’t spherical and are housed in bony cones in their heads, they can see colors that we can’t, they lay eggs and have a similar life stage development cycle, they have extremely sensitive antennas, and they have a mix of endo and exoskeleton/shell.
Their differences are a lot more distinct (obviously) Sundyne are obligate carnivores, for one, and have a lot harder time processing plant matter than Drecu. Their lower mandibles and beak are very sharp and are used to both tear into and hold prey.
When their mouth is closed, these two are pressed together tightly by internal muscles. Along with their little bit of lip and their other mouthparts that fold closely along their face, it gives the impression of their jaw being more like ours (especially when I stylize it and remove all detail >: ) ).
Those internal grabbies are about as strong as a human thumb, and are used to make speaking noises by vibrating them together along with the apparatus in their throat. Those also help to hold/maneuver food without opening the mouth too much (which they see as a threat)
Another difference in their mouth is their tongue, which is housed in a hole along their lower jaw, and its length retracts down their throat.
They use it to strip meat from bone and lick yummy goop out of shell and bone holes.
Their huge eyes function much better at night, and they usually keep them lidded to avoid sensory overload or looking like theyre upset (again, their eyes aren't full spheres in there, and instead are more like weird cylinders that taper as they go back in the skull.)
Like Dorest, all 6 of their fingers on their main hands are separated, though now they are all much larger and longer (at least on this top pair of arms).
Only the claws on their larger top arms are retractable, operating by sliding in and out of a pocket of endoskeleton in their end knuckle.
The smaller bottom arms have a thumb claw like Rox, and none of the shorter and duller on the other fingers are retractable.
Also like Rox, they have a special claw on their foot for kicking stuff, though theirs is much more pronounced and mobile (their other toes are relatively short and also have retractable claws.)
Male Sundyne also have a third pair of 'limbs' that are actually gonopods that fold on their back that they use to carry eggs, another indicator that their genus as a whole may have once had 8 limbs that have since fused or retracted.
Speaking of male, sundyne are not hermaphroditic, with *adults* being distinctly male or female. It's impossible to tell until the first molt after pupation, though.
Sundyne dimorphism is based on this sex difference and it decides their service role in their familial/ societal clans (rather than with Drecu, whose role in the colony decides their sexual role)
Their family units tend to be single dominant reproductive male and female pair, their children, and nonreproductive members.
Traditionally, that dominant pair is decided by whichever is the strongest female and whichever male catches her attention, but modernly and in higher classes there is a lot more linking of clans and inter/extra political and legislative to consider.
The dominant male and female are monogamously bonded, but often switch their single partners a lot for politics etc (though long-held bonds are seen as better) nonreproductive members can have multiple partners and do, but the privilege of eggs is only for that special pair bond.
The closest thing from earth i can say is they're structured a bit like a lion pride or meerkats, though females are the ones who defend the territory while males hunt and rear children once the eggs have been laid/hatched (which is where Rox and Dorest got their child raising roles from)
In any clan, females outnumber males because at a certain age most males are meant to leave and go join another clan. Because of this, the nonreproductive females often assist with resource gathering/some ither male roles (though they're given their own pronoun for this since males are their own special thing)
Males are smaller in height and sleeker, and have more markings on their face/ body (while they look very flashy to us, it helps break up their shape to their colorblind prey).
They also retain one more set of limbs than females: gonopods like Drecu on their back that also help hold their females eggs in place (once the female is ready to lay them, they give them to the male with an ovipositor) .
Females are much larger and more muscular, with fewer markings but often more impressuve crowns of horns. They also don’t have the same external genitalia structure.
The horn things on a female will drop and regrow more based on hormone signals from their social status and/or their environment. On a male, they will not (but they do keep growing constantly)
I keep saying "things" on their head because they're structured sort of like horns but not quite.
Theyre more or less hollow/spongy bone on the inside with a thin sheath covering , more or less permanent, and sort of vascularized and growing for the whole year. BUT they can branch, don’t have a single living core, and they can drop and regrow if damaged enough by the root (kind of just a spongy thing growing out of a bone shoot idk).
Horn damage on a male is seen as extremely unattractive and disgraceful (the long continually grown unbranched ones are the beauty standard since it exemplifies how precious they are)
Females use them a lot more for combat, territoriality, and social status (whereas males use them for defense and social status) so they get cracked more often. If this happens, theyll regrow with some deformation around the sheath. If they get access to a better food source, they’ll also drop and then regrow better and stronger (but smooth and with no tines). For the few reproductive females, they will shed and regrow bigger/stronger horn things with more branches yearly the longer they’re the dominant female as a status symbol. Any horn branches are looked at very favorably on females, but the crooked/unnatural spurs and bumps caused by damage is looked at as a low status symbol since the only reason they’d still have it is if they aren’t dominant enough to get the signals to drop and regrow them the right way.
As for their life cycle, its a lot like Drecu. Egg, little gloopy grub thing, bigger goopy grub thing, prepupa, chrysalis, juvenile adult stage.
However, during pupation adults can’t ‘choose’ the final form of their offspring like Dorest and Rox can. Males are considerably more favored because they leave their home clan to build ties and status in other clans, ultimately expanding the influence of the family and more freely rising in the ranks (they leave, marry in with a female of equal or greater status, and can move up by taking out other males there. a female doesn’t typically leave their birth clan, and could never become the dominant female of their own clan because incest and patricide taboo, and the only way they’d be able to in another clan is if they enter as a nonreproductive and maybe get lucky enough that the dominant female falls out of favor so you can yake her place)
If they had the chance most clans would cull many of the females in their clutches, but since they can’t tell the difference until the age where their kids are legally considered people, it’s harder to do that.
Succession rites for females follow a matriline from the dominant female, but they have their own internal pecking order established through literal and social pecking. If you’re a better fighter or just smarter/more useful, you’ll have a higher status. But if you were born in that clan, you'll never be the dominant female unless the male gets taken out of the equation too, making an opening for a new leader.
Males get their initial status from their pair with a female upon entry to a new clan, but they can actually move up to the dominant position by killing or otherwise removing the previous male. After this, they can choose a new female.
Their biological roles of hunter/nurturer for male and protector/fighter for female translates to their modern sociopolitical roles pretty literally. Males hold power as lawmakers, media makers, educators, and leaders due to their more 'intellectual' domestic role and ability to bridge clans in alliances.
. Though they are physically superior, females become the males protection once they are paired. They hold power within a clan and often in the military or as lower government officials, but outside of the clan their reach is pretty much carrying out and enforcing the orders of their male.
Their dynamic is like a sword and its wielder, or a speaker and their voice, though it is also referenced in their own culture as a male/female pair being “the sun and its moon.” They also take great pride in this binary, seeing it as something that sets them apart/ male and female completing each other to form the perfect whole.
Straying from this is a one way ticket to being either kicked out of the clan, jailed, or killed depending on where you are and who you’re dealing with.
They will enforce it onto any other species they meet (which is part of why Dorest and Rox are rigidly separated by a gender role along with their biological role in the colony, even though they are both sexes)
Sundyne clans are at the tippy top of Cerest society’s order (wirh Seru being the tippy top of the Sundyne exclusive caste, represented by a circle). They oversee their Drecu colonies and use their resources and manpower to expand their territory. This hierarchy is deeply entrenched, with any Drecu within a trad Sundyne structure believing that the Seru are immaculate and powerful beings.
Another conspiracy theory is that back in the early days of Sundyne development they probably preyed on Drecu and infiltrated their colonies through pheromone manipulation, overtaking that territory for their clan. The pheromone thing allows them to influence the general emotions of Cerest around them and give loose instructions, and to stop the instinctive swarm swarm swarm kill kill kill responses Drecu get when they see them (To Drecu, Sundyne look like creepy elongated nightmare versions of themselves, and though this response has largely been bred out most Dorest and Rox still feel an uncanny effect from looking at them. ) again, that's crazy talk though and never happened.
One more to go, and its the funny parasite worm ones

Anyone else kind of hope in the next Trolls movie they might properly adress the trolls becoming Grey thing?
because in the first movie they make a point that Among all of the trolls in the village Branch is the only Grey one due to the trauma of feeling like it was his fault his granny died and he felt it was the music's fault because he lured the Bergans over because he wasn't paying attention. He avoided hug time and seemed to put up a front to push the others away...but by the end of the movie he was okay with hug time and was able to bring back everyone else's colors and got his colors which were much brighter back.
and we saw all the trolls go grey and demoralized when poppy got sarcastic and felt hopeless....but Branch was living in a relatively peaceful settlement for ages and wasn't doomed to be eaten and was atcvely doing his best to prepare and fight against those type of scenerios...so its not just the hopeless factor right?
but what I don't get is Branch goes from super grey to super bright blue...but then in the following movies he was bright but then got darker?
like on one hand in the second movie he felt a bit off to me because he was supposedly more positive due to not being grey anymore so felt like he had more difficulty calling poppy out..but what I don't get is he is clearly much darker in this third movie then he was before? what happened to his colors? why did no one bring it up?
like does it come and go? can he shift his colors now depending on how he feels? but we also saw how there WAS a bias about him being kind of weird and grey so why does him being greyier not get adressed by anyone if those bright colors f his were so hard won in the first movie?
also what about his brothers? I know its been a while since they've been around branch so they don't know the specifics about him being grey before(which feels odd they never brought up) but do they not think his colors aren't as bright as they used to be?
also his brothers' colors (aside from bruce/spruce and maybe clay's hair) seemed to be not as bright...like their bods seem to bathc but werent they all bright colored before on the body? did they just naturally fade?
did his brothers turn Grey at all?
cuz honestly it seem difficult to get a troll sad enough for them to be grey..let alone stay Grey...and considering all of troll villaige went through the trauma of having been systematically eaten for a LONG LONG time and the only Gray one was Branch...like maybe its because he was a impressionable child it stuck harder? but I have questions...
like they make a clear point that princess/queen Viva has strong similarities/paranoia to Branch but she also clearly hasn't lost her colors...is it because she was forcing herself to stay positive and be strong for the other trolls she was protecting? but what about Clay? he has bright hair but has his odd sad hut he was choosing as his room and is the one who seemed to be doing the fire exits and the like..and Viva seems way more traumatized....but they at least seemed to semi listen to him...
so is it a socialization things? like everyone in viva's kingdom still seemed on edge so Clay got to actually feel more listened to and included unlike how all of the trolls kind of brushd off all of branch's warnings due to his 'the red coats are coming' vibe and his dismissal of their choice to cope with trying to forget and move on?
Bruce/Spruce has the love of his life and his family with the muppets so still seemed pretty bright....but i'm definitly stll curious.
especially about John Dory...because he was the eldest child and he left but when he came back he literally thought EVERYONE had died...and he had no way to know if his other brothers were alive either. He seems to be pretty upbeat honestly with some similar vibes to Poppy...but he definitely seems duller...but we know branch turning grey definitely was connected to seeing the grandma die/be taken...but also since most of the trolls had to deal with the bergens they all must have lost someone at sometime to the Bergens but they weren't Grey....but if Branch turned Grey over the grandma...its hard to imagine John Dory NOT turning Grey afetr thinking every troll he knew was dead including grandma and bitty B and most probably his other brothers...
but did he get his colors back recently after hearing about branch and teh pop trolls after they were discovered in the second movie after complete isolation? or was it earlier due to taking care of his catterpillar bus?
like...I'm kindof curious about how they can adress the grey aspect.
though I am applauding the implication of them showing the hug time aspect isn't just for socialization and care...it seems to be a biological need as basically having all his energy sucked out/talent...floyd came back to life after they were all around him giving him a hug...it wasn't even a 'spray my talent on him to see of it would bring him back' thing...it was literally hugs that saved flyod which gets so interesting thinking about all the other hug times as well as the affects on branch who avoided hug times as much as possible when he turned grey...also...how come we don't really see the other genre's of trolls with the hug time braclets...
also was it just me or were the trolls using their hair less in the third movie?

Yo! Just noticed it’s the anniversary of when I finished my second fanfic Dreamcatcher, which is the work I actually started to lean into writing fanfiction (since my first work I really just wrote for myself before being encouraged to share it).
So, in honor of that, here is some of the original second nightmare which was actually written from Dream’s pov before I ended up changing it to Punz’s.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Referenced Torture, Blood, Death, Injuries, Profanity.
Dream is wet and panting, in a puddle of watery red flowing into an equally crimson pond to his side, where the non diluted liquid gets thicker.
There’s white fur stuck in it as the body of a dog, slashed to bits lies there next to him. Both sitting in the despairing silence of the box.
Tears form in the corners of his eyes and his vision gets blurry, but he doesn’t let them fall. He just exhales.
Why does everything die around him? Why does everything he dare to care a smidge about get taken from him?
As if to follow his thoughts, the white turns to black. The fluffy bloodied dog shifts into a cat that’s long since stopped breathing. Dream turns his head, and faintly smirks at the sight of the additional body sprawled out on the floor next to him.
He mutters to the corpse under his breath, rolling his eyes, “To be fair, you were being a bitch. Like don’t blame me, you know you d—deserved it… I mean I lasted like—how long before beating your head in? That’s pretty impressive—pretty fucking impressive, you know.”
Tommy’s body doesn’t respond, just stays there, unmoving and uncharacteristically quiet. His face swollen and bruised, not unlike the innocent cat he beat to death.
Then his body evaporates and Dream finds himself in a new room, accented with black walls and bedrock. It’s detail is perfectly ominous like he wanted.
He’s kneeling, unguarded by armor with an audience of people surrounding him. His heart beats rapidly threatening to burst out of his chest at the danger. But he ignores it.
Indignant, Tommy rips off the mask that always covers his face. Exposing his pale skin to the cool air and the venomously judging faces.
Despite the frustration at his denial of privacy, he doesn’t so much as dignify it with a flinch. It was expected. He was ready. He’s not about to show weakness in front of a crowd.
They are silent as the axe lands, and lands again before lady death finally embraces him.
They are silent as the sword finds its place in his chest and he falls to the ground, bleeding out into the cold stone beneath him.
It’s ok. He knew this would happen. It was expected, it was planned. He didn’t know they’d kill him twice, but it’s fine.
On one life, he makes his way back down with sharp pain running through his veins. Somehow it seems duller than the pain in the prison cell, though it can’t have been less excruciating.
Tommy once again stands above him savagely firing arrows away. As they pierce his flesh and bone, he searches the cold faces around him and listens intently, hoping to hear one sound of objection to his approaching final death.
Surely, someone will say something, right? Surely, someone will oppose his final death, right? Surely, they woundn’t let Tommy kill him off in cold blood. Would they?
But there’s nothing from them. Absolutely nothing. Standing there, dripping in blood, he feels his heart entirely disintegrate into nothing. Leaving only a hollow emptiness in its wake.
Then suddenly he’s freezing from more than just death and despondency. He’s surrounded by ice. Their pillars, tall and sharp, casting the land in a pointed terrain. Despite the bone chilling air and his frozen insides, he stands, planted to the ground, looking at a sign pinned to the glacier. The wood marking the death of his parrot that travelled so far only to die there.
A deep sigh is released from his lungs and the scene smears into broad strokes of colors. Until a well known bleak room encases him in lava and obsidian again.
Sitting there with nothing but the annoying sounds of the prison to keep him company, he wonders if he’s always destined to lose everything. Was it always going to end up like this? Was he always going to end up alone?
#I swear I do plan on expanding this work into a series… I can’t believe it’s been a year and I still haven’t posted any of related fics… oo#blame bad and techno for claiming me attention lol… anyways I do have lots written so it’s coming… :)#leftovers#c!dream#thank y’all so much for your support. kind words. and for encouraging me to write more and making me feel safe to do so and share it. <3#writing has been really good for my mental health this past year and not only being allowed to do so#but having people enjoy it has been really really healing for me so thank you so much <3 <3#thanks for being the first fandom that emboldened me to write fanfic <3#dreamcatcher#dsmp#dreblr#dsmp dream#for real though… I could have written such good arrow and supernatural and maybe even Loki fanfic if I’d know fandoms could be so supportiv#(and that fanfic isn’t just about ships… XD)#dream smp#dsmp fanfic

i posted this yesterday but it flopped so i’m posting it again!!! 🤭🤭
In velvet goldmine, we see 2HB being used (technically??) in three different scenes. The first time is when we see brian preform (chronologically), second was in the bar restaurant thingy curt and arthur were in, and the third time was at the end of the movie when jack fairy preforms
The first time this song plays, it sets up the major use of it further in the movie. We see it when brian is very new to making music and performing, this idea of the early days. Before he was taken over and changed by playing as maxwell demon. This was before maxwell demon was even a thought. He was just brian.
A big point made in this movie is the change between decades. The 80s is depicted as this grayer and duller era while the 70s an era of expression and creativity. At the end of brian’s interview, mandy says, “for the first time in brian’s life, he was simply telling it like it was. did he realize what he’d actually done? how could he have? i mean today, there’d be fighting in the streets. but in 1972… it was more like dancing.” 2HB is used as this small bit of the past, of what was before.
The second time we hear the song was with arthur and curt. The entire scene plays as this sense of regret and what went wrong. They then have their whole conversation, and we have the very iconic quote, “we set out to change the world, ended up just changing ourselves… what’s wrong with that?… nothing, if you don’t look at the world.” We then get a longshot of all the other tables and people. With the grays and the dull colors you get more imagery of just how much is different. In the end the world did change, just never how they expected it to. Curt mourns the past while brian appeals to the present, ever craving for fame.
As curt gives arthur the pin from brian, someone plays 2HB on the jukebox and, after this entire conversation about how things have changed, its almost this blast from the past—how things started out, how they used to be beautiful.
The last time we hear this song is in the ending sequence of this movie. We see jack fairy singing it and as we do, there is this backdrop that projects the faces of the big glam rock stars in this time period. The scene then fades into the same sequence we saw from the beginning of the movie, and as the shot pans into a radio that no one is taking the time to pay attention to, we see just how much things are different. It will never be like it one was, but we’ll have this one thing. Their music will forever be an echo of the past, no matter how much the world changes they will have always happened.
#velvet goldmine#curt wild#brian slade#i’m nothing if not a lover of 2HB#thom yorke ate that up tbh#slaps roof the amount of analysis i can fit in here#I FEEL LIKE THIS IS ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT IT MAKES SENSE IN MY HEAD

Could I please get a HC for Felix from Last legacy for an MC who when they first woke up there had unnaturally colored hair (blue if I'm being self-indulgent or basic F/C if non descriptive.)
How Felix would react to MC's hair color fading and maybe him helping them dye it again.
Of course! Sorry it's a little short, but I hope you enjoy this - it feels so very good to write again, and I hadn't realized how much I missed Felix!
Fandom: Last Legacy
Character(s): Felix
Warnings: None
For starters, I'm going to take a slightly unique angle on this and assume that hair color changing is not that unusual in Astraea. Sure, one could argue that Rime's strawberry pink hair is as natural as his antlers, but what about Anisa? Her mother's hair appears to be solid, yet she's got those lovely streaks in her hair. So it's possible, however... I'm going to say that it isn't dye, but magic.
Imagine salons employing mages who can color your hair instantly, along with other feats, such as causing it to grow out instantly when you've tired of a short haircut. Or salons with a host of magical potions in stock that can be applied to your hair similarly to our dye and instantly causes the color to change! I imagine this is a bit more expensive than just getting a haircut, though, which might be a good way to explain the lack of such vibrant colors in Astraea - most people cannot afford it, or maybe can't access any salons with such options. Or mayhaps it's simply more common than we were led to believe!
For funsies, I'm going to say that Felix's hair is naturally a much duller shade of brown, but during his early teenage years he experimented with spells and potions to color it a bright purple to scandalize Escell, but it didn't quite work, so now it's just... got this purpleish hue to it.
It might So when you turn up with colored hair, it's the least of anyone's concerns. Forget your hair, they want to know where you came from, how you ended up here, and how to get you home!
But the thing about magically colored hair is that it doesn't quite suffer the same phases as our dye. It's either fully permanent, if one could pay enough or find a talented enough mage, or it simply fades away like magic and leaves your natural color behind. But this... this is different. The color fades, and your roots begin to show through as your hair grows out, and no one's ever seen anything quite like it before.
Once Felix finally notices, oblivious little dork that he is, his first instinct is that something is wrong - he skips straight over the possibility that you might be sick, as Sage would surely suggest, and instantly fears corruption. If magic is the thing that colors hair, then surely it must be the cause of strangely un-coloring hair as well. Think of it as an allergic reaction, of sorts; right as you start learning how to perform magic and becoming more and more proficient with it, your vibrant hair seems to wither and become dull.
It's Felix, so... he probably doesn't bring it up immediately. Instead, this loveable idiot decides to fix the problem himself, and tries dissuading you from using magic. The sudden 180 from encouraging you to study the heaviest tomes and practice until you're utterly exhausted to trying to talk you out of doing those exact things is... concerning, to say the least, and you're not that easily convinced.
One way or another, it comes out, whether it's you confronting him, Felix spilling his concerns on his own, or some knightly intervention from Anisa. You explain that your hair is dyed, and Felix freezes, assuming you meant, you know... died. Hopefully you'll explain the difference to him before he launches into a tangent of apologies.
Once he understands, however, he's on a quest to renew your hair for you. He either attempts it himself - which, as mentioned, might not have the best outcome - or he takes you to the best salon in Porrima to have your hair professionally done by a proper mage who can ensure the color will never fade again, unless of course you want a different color.

Hey! Its my birthday today!
To specify, Its not my birthday, but my in-character birthday! Its been about 5 years since I first made our wonderful little bomb here! Which makes it the perfect time to look back at his past designs and talk about how he, and by extension myself, grew over time! Although, Since I myself am bombfolk, Itll be a bit difficult to differentiate between the two. So for that, Hi! This design here will be used from here on to represent my out of character self!
With that, Lets get right to it shall we? A quick pulling back of the curtain to talk about some of the past! Its worth mentioning, With each design, There will be a little sticky note that shows the original drawing of that design, So you can watch how Ive progressed in art-style as well! As a heads up, I'll be rattling off a LOT, you can also just look for yourself and not bother with reading it all, I'll just be pointing out the differences and some small tidbits.
First and foremost! The very first design! As you can tell, It used much duller colors as compared to now, but the shirt design is the same! Alongside that, The bomb part itself is ALSO very different, With a smaller base and MUCH smaller fuse. I went for a more thin design that had five segments back then but as we go along you can see how it changes! Alongside that you can see with the bomb itself, There was no alternate color, It was just straight void-black, same as the borders. As of when I originally made these I actually just straight up used the circle tool for the head, hence why its all one color! We also have the eyes which are considerably smaller and in this iteration eyebrows just sort of appeared when needed!
Next up, A design I am still baffled to this day about, My second iteration, We'll start with the most in your face part, The sun and moon gimmick. So I made this design with the whole idea of my goal of brightening peoples days taken REALLY literally. I was and still am a massive fan of duality in my designs and theming so I was originally gonna make a second character to represent the moon, but I have no idea where that went. In terms of design, We have the collar that was meant to look like the sun and replacing the circuit design with one a sun and moon on the cuffs of the shirt and a wavelength on there as well because white space is not something my brain was a fan of at the time. Also the base of the bomb was smaller than that of the first design, However the it makes the fuse look bigger so a step in the right direction. For the coloring, It was much more vibrant, I actually have kept some colors in my current design as you can see with my shirt's base color. Eyes were still quite small and a smidge duller than the shirt itself, For the bomb part itself, I used a gradient which led to this shade of grey. The fuse however, was shortened to 3 segments but also just the colors were inverted, Likely because the first segment in the fuse was originally brown and I just removed that segment at the time
Next up, The third iteration of the design! The base of the bomb got a bit larger this time, and its quite blatant that this design feels way TALLER than the others. Thats mainly because I ended up focusing on making the character feel more slim. Unfortunately the experiment made him look uncannily tall. Other than that, The sun and moon gimmick was dialed back a bit, Although the MOON IS PURPLE FOR SOME REASON It also swapped places with the sun. This iteration did make quite a few lasting changes though! First being that it coined the face changing color with emotion gimmick, As well as finally figuring out what color the bomb part is, Sticking to a nice navy (Which is specifically called "Valhalla" by the way!). The fuse follows suit, Inverting its colors to look much nicer in my opinion! The shirt was turned into a minty color, As well as the pants with a VERY vibrant ocean-y blue! I still cease to understand why I decided to put a logo on the shirt, Like you weren't able to tell who it is by just looking at the bomb.
Regardless, We bring ourselves to the current form of the design! The base of the bomb is now much larger, even moreso than that of the original iteration, And we've gone back to the original hoodie design, integrating it with the color gimmick from the previous iteration! Alongside that, The fuse is quite noticably bigger compared to all the others and hangs back a bit more, Usually behind my head. I've also decidedly made the eyes and face much bigger, usually taking up a good amount of space, It gives a much more cartoony feel that I like going for! The design also takes more chibi elements, Mainly stubby arms and legs alongside a pretty large head! Finally, I've finally decided to give the shoes a bit more of an interesting design, inspired by the boots of the Mario bros.
Well, thats all for going through the past designs of myself, I always find it fun looking back and appreciating where I came from and how much I've grown, Especially since I can remember a good deal of life events that occurred during the time of each iteration, Its a sweet way of remembering all the great things and fun times that have happened over the years. If you ever feel like it, Take a look at some of your past designs or drawings! You won't regret it, Promise

Hey! I just followed you! I’m Christian too. I saw your post about BroZone abandoning Branch. I agree with you. What they did were stupidity and selfish.
I know Floyd said goodbye, but IF he was a good and loved Branch very much then why did he left him? (I know it wasn’t make sense but Trolls if he didn’t 😅)
That’s just wrong of him, making promise is serious. Solo career takes a lot of time, also Rosiepuff was old. Honestly I don’t know if that’s wrong or right but I feel like he’s very wrong, the solo career is just something to enjoy and human/ Troll is living! Wasn’t he like 10-12?
You only live ONCE!
My 2ed favorite is John Dory. taking care of siblings is lot of responsibility and he through everyone died meaning his family died as well. He mentioned he tried came back but no one was there. I don’t know about Floyd, Clay and Bruce. They’re okay I guess. (They’re awesome in fanfics I don’t know why ;’D)
True I don’t like how they treat Branch in movie, it’s just weird and embarrassing. Like come on! Branch is not a baby! I’m more shocked they didn’t notice Branch’s hair and skin were not same as his original colors, it’s duller!
I know John left first but he did come back, but well yeah we know.
I don’t know about Bruce. By looking at him, he has family, right? I feel like he replaced Branch. Branch is HIS family! I’m bet Bruce’s kids would have asked about their uncles, his brothers! Honestly I feel like he doesn’t care about Branch but I’m not quite sure.
Clay is fine, he wanted to be serious but it seems like he isn’t mature enough and he just did dance which is kind of funny in movie at golf course, right?
It’s fine if he doesn’t want to be fun boy, that doesn’t mean he should be serious ALL the time, honestly I’m not sure about him. Staying mad at John for 20 years? That’s too much. I’m surprised he or Bruce didn’t end up hurting themselves- (it did happen to me, I was upset with someone, no i didn’t hurt myself but I felt hurt, after awhile I got over it, moved on and feel better, so should they)
I don’t know about Floyd, all we know he only got captured and was trapped for two months. We don’t know what he did before that.
The worst is they all left Branch to the hands of Bergens in the middle of BergenTown which was worse! (I heard about Bergens finding Trolls after BroZone Breakup, but I find it hard to believe and I don’t understand so I don’t believe and timeline is confused)
I’m not sure why Rosiepuff didn’t do her job to step up to the boys. I understand she was too old, or stop them from leaving unless she thought they needed some time to themselves and will come back, it might have happened before, like teenagers normally does. I’m guessing she didn’t hear what Floyd was saying to Baby Branch.
I’m not sure If she did help JD, we don’t know how her relationship with her older grandsons were.
Her death was even more sad.. ;(
Branch is my favorite ever more! :’D
My apologies about any mistakes or grammar.
Anyway I have a question, we know BroZone’s parents was never seen at all, they most likely died.
But
What do you think their reaction to their four older sons, what they did to their youngest son? I know they would be so disappointed and angry, knowing that they do not raise their sons this way.
I get it, teenagers can be stupid but abandoning families is wrong and awful, really sad even when Branch didn’t do anything.
How would they think about their sons left after one performance that went wrong and one fright that made them left and never came back?
How Branch went through so much?
HELLOOOO FELLOW CHRISTIAN 💕💕
Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, i knew this response would take a bit and I didn't have a ton of time earlier today😁💅
Okay, so to answer your question, it's hard to know exactly his parents would feel other than being disappointed and angry. We don't really know their personalities as well, so it's super hard to tell. I know for sure that they would never have let them just walk out the door like that unless they were lousy parents, and would probably give them all a good talking to.
I will say, being a girl with six brothers, I know what brothers go through, so I'm assuming that they have had multiple fights like this before, and that this one was only a bigger deal because they had promised the Perfect Family Harmony, something that had never been done before, and they blew it in front of the whole village.
DOES NOT MAKE THIS RIGHT BUT JUST SAYING THAT IT'S VERY EASY TO LOSE UR TEMPER WITH IT BROS HAHA-
But yeah, they would be so sad about Branch going through all of that. He definitely didn't deserve it. He was only a baby after all!
I never understood why Grandma Rosiepuff just sat there talking about dummy during the fight, that doesn't show the sweet loving grandma we know she was from Branch's descriptions of her. Ok Dreamworld was trying to be silly, but (And this is very hard for me to say bc I LOVE Dreamworks so much and their jokes are amazing in kids movies!!) I think the joke was too forced at the wrong time and place.
So I'm trying to give her a benefit of a doubt about why she didn't stop them, maybe thinking "oh, they 're doing their silly little fights again, they'll all be back." But they didn't come back:(((
I don't believe that Bruce REPLACED Branch or any of his brothers-- falling in love and having kids isn't replacing them at all. Branch could have done the same thing with Poppy, honestly. Bruce did seem to not really be too eager about going back, which did confuse me, and can be fustrating, but it makes sense. John Dory had always bossed him around and yelled at them, and he had found love and a great new life where he was, so he didn't really need to return to the life he didn't really enjoy. (Tho it is still messed up)
IDK WHAT HAPPENED WITH FLOYD LIKE WHY DID YOU NOT TO BACK TO BRANCH?!!! I don't have an explanation for Floyd at all. Maybe he did come back but found the troll tree abandoned and whatever, so maybe he guessed they were dead too? idk, I love Floyd but I just can't believe he didn't return for Branch or take Branch with him, though I guess it would have been messed up to leave their grandma all alone.
For the timeline confusion you have-- totally get it, the timeline is all over the place. But here is the basic explanation for things:
The BroZone Breakup HAD to be before the Bergen Attack bc Clay ran off with Viva, remember, before arriving at Putt Putt Whats-it-called lol (which is why Clay didn't look for Branch again also-- Viva wouldn't have let him)
Also, Branch is at least two years older (bc he was def a bit older when his grandma died) than Poppy, and Poppy was only like one year when the Bergen attacked, so the breakup also had to happen before the Bergen Attack bc Branch was only like one (at least) during it and Poppy definitely wasn't born yet. (If Poppy had been born, it might have taken her quicker to connect the dots between Bitty B and Branch).
You know the timeline after that, Trolls, Trolls Holiday, Trolls World Tour, 1/2 month later THIH, and TBT 1/2 a month after that. Kinda complicated at first, but if you really think about it, then it becomes a bit easier.
also, Clay is in a phase where he is trying to figure himself out. He wants to be serious (mainly to defy JD and show him that he has grown up) but at the same time, he does seem to be a silly boy at heart.
BRANCH IS MY FAVORITE TOOOO SAMIESSSS
sorry, I ranted. Hope this helps! Love ya!❤❤❤

Yo can I get uhhhhhhhhhh a Star Wars mlm pairing?
I’m a Taurus and I’m a demiromantic bisexual man. And I’m an INTP.
I’m 5’5 but always wear boots to make me taller. I have short fluffy black hair that always falls in my face. I’ve never gotten a straight answer for what my eye color is but a lot of people have said they look yellow and I take that as a compliment (and not a sign of liver failure). I have random freckles, moles, and lots of scars on my hands specifically because i tend to be a little reckless with using my bare hands. I also have an RBF. My voice is on the deeper side and usually stays monotone. When I’m real passionate my southern accent does come out though.
I usually have a punk style but it can tend to fade into flannel and old jeans when I’m feeling lazier. I listen to music religiously and all the time, I listen to basically any music. I don’t have a favorite color but I primarily wear black or duller colors.
I have anxiety but that just makes me quiet and look mean. I am always down to fight someone but I will try to be reasonable first. I’m pretty sarcastic and my humor can be either harsh or really stupid. I think Deadpool is hilarious if that tells you anything abt my humor. I love horror and costume making. I also love technology, art, nature, and space. I draw a lot and play electric guitar. I also love filmmaking/editing and writing. I’ve been told I don’t show enough emotion or I have a lack of empathy but I think it’s just my RBF and that I process things slowly. Most of my friends refer to me as the “fucked up cool uncle” bcc I’m really chill.
Sorry if this is rlly long! I threw in whatever you might need! Ty too man ur work is great
AN: No worries! In fact, this was more than plenty! Hope you enjoy the Rex matchup.
Mildly intimidating, quiet, but with a messed up sense of humor? You're absolutely one of the 501st's favorites to work with once you get to know each other.
When you met Rex, the relationship would have been strictly professional- at least in the field, considering that both of you had a rather professional disposition, and were fairly task-oriented.
Your yellowed eyes would have rung alarm bells, at first. Especially if you were a force user; just about every Sith apprentice or lord they went against while serving in the 501st was yellow-eyed, but that wariness would have been quickly dissuaded with some basic explanations and practical experience with him side-by-side on the battlefield.
Despite any initial wariness or concern, your presence wouldn't have halted their banter with each other in the slightest; Rex and his boys have had a long-lasting relationship full of chaos, a true brotherhood. Anyone who thinks that they'd stop messing with each other whenever they could get a jab in just because someone who comes off stiff is in the vicinity is deluded.
He and the boys in white may have toned it down at the start, sure, keeping it to when you weren't around, but they wouldn't have cut it off entirely. Something would slip around you now and again, usually when things were a tad more lax, and the boys weren't actively engaged in combat.
This became progressively more true the longer you got to know they boys, and the more they got a feel for your personality.
Then one day, someone cracked a joke while you were around Rex to test the waters, and you jumped in without hesitation. That's what sold it for them.
The second they knew you would play along, it was full-send. They messed with you just as much as you did them, and it was great.
Rex and the rest of the 501st would gradually begin to clue you in on their banter, seeing if you'd bite, and getting a kick out of it when you were the first to initiate.
Given your 'fucked up cool uncle' demeanor, odds are you'd have ended up reeling in the boys a bit at times without being asked, while still being cool about it, and Rex would have appreciated the help. Especially since he's a captain for a large part of the war. Being able to be more casual with his brothers and not have to be on their tails was nice.
The man needed the help. Believe me.
Regarding your appearance, Rex would have been largely curious about your scarred hands, ever since he first met you- much like the rest of the 501st- but he would have staved off asking about them until you got closer.
When he does finally cave to the curiosity, he would have been extremely respectful about how he asked. He and his brothers got scars all the time, some small some large, and not all of them had pleasant memories after all.
The face he made when he found out that it was just because you were positively reckless when doing menial tasks and such with your hands was palpable, and priceless.
He never looked at you handling a blaster the same. Any time you mishandle one on or off the field you're in for a concerned, yet playful lecture. That lecture would get progressively more brash depending on how stupid what you were doing was- and force forbid you injured yourself.
Have no doubts that Rex will be the one to bandage your hands if/when Jessie isn't around, even if being the medic isn't his thing.
That said, speaking of being on the field? Nothing was going to stop Rex and you from having an ongoing contest every time you were deployed together.
Clanker counts are an absolute must, and you best bet he's stolen a kill from you and flashed you a positively vile smirk before resuming his work.
Heaven forbid you steal one of his kills. The first time you did, his expression of mock offense was picture-worthy.
It gets so competitive that you both start making bets, like 'loser has to buy the other a drink back at 79's' or 'loser has to clean the barracks'. Silly stuff like that.
Eventually, some of the boys get on it too, betting credits and spare rations amongst themselves on who they think is going to get the highest kill count of the both of you.
Some of the boys make it a mission to compete with you all, beyond the betting, in an attempt to win this cheeky little game of yours. One can imagine exactly how that goes.
Capture the blasters. Enough said.
In terms of other things that one can catch the Captain red-handed in? There's a few.
Rex finds a great deal of amusement in making you get worked up/excited over little things, with the sole intent of having your southern twang come out because he finds it cute.
Furthermore, he finds your style rather intriguing and thinks that the general punk aesthetic suits you, even if it's not something he'd usually go for, given that he's so used to the uniform regulations he and the clones generally have to conform to.
He finds extra amusement in the boots you wear and doesn't miss the opportunity to make a playful jab at how they made you look taller. And how short you are without them.
Has tried to convince you to wear more blue in your punk attire strictly because it'd match his and the boy's paint of the 501st, when you're out and about.
Rex secretly enjoys looming about whenever you're engaging in any of your creative hobbies, just to see what you're doing. Mostly so he can give you shit for it, affectionately.
Sometimes he'll tease or make quips about it. If it's anything involving knives, needles, etc- you know he's about because he doesn't want you to add to your scar collection.
Double-checks that you understood the information he gives you properly, because knowing damn well that you process things slowly sometimes. Sometimes triple if safety is concerned.
He's your menace.
At least you know the menace is mutual.
AN: I'll be honest, I forgot how long this was sitting here waiting for editing while I had all my drafts up, but I'm glad I got to finish it- even if it was on the shorter side. Sorry for the delay.
As always, May your day be as pleasant as the ocean's abyss is deep. For those of you who are new around here? I take requests. You can find my general rules here. For Matchups specifically? You can find those rules here.

Protag Teruya AU - Hibiki Otonokoji Design
Ah, yes. The girl that should’ve been a survivor. Poor Hibiki had it rough in SDRA2, and it didn’t help that LINUJ was more interested in her sister’s edginess rather than the tragedy of losing her life and agency thanks to what Kanade has done to her.
Well, at least she gets a better ending in the Protag Teruya AU and I wanted to represent her character development by giving her a new design! As mentioned in the pixel sprite post of Akane, Teruya, and Hibiki, having similar looks to Kanade due to being her twin and using their similar likeness as their brand for Melody Rhythm has become a negative thing for Hibiki. It keeps reminding her of her sister and she just doesn’t like how she looks anymore. She wanted distance from Kanade, and while she is thankfully dead by this point in the story, Hibiki didn’t want any reminders of her. Which is hard when you’re a serial killer’s near identical twin sister.
But she’s not alone! Teruya and Akane have been helping her recover with Mikado coming in every now and then to make sure she hasn’t relapsed back into her puppet state for any reason. And one of the things they suggested to do was to go shopping for new clothes, which is how Hibiki ended up with her new outfit here. She’s become much more comfortable with herself now that she’s putting distance between her and Kanade. Even if there are some things she can’t change about her appearance. (Mikado suggested to dye her hair with Emma’s help but because Hibiki wasn’t sure if she really wants to do that, the idea has been shelved.)
Her new outfit was based off of her old design LINUJ made but I made sure to change certain things so it’d feel more original, like how her coat only reached above her waist and has a hood, her stockings having ribbons to match the one on her head and bow tie, her shoes are more like boots instead of Mary Janes, her shirt is tucked in and her hair is completely down like when she first saw Setsuka’s body in canon (her dead eyes, man, they will always get to me). I had a bit of difficulty deciding her color palette, and her outfit’s colors weren’t as bright as the first iteration. The colors were much duller and leaned more heavily on the purple of her outfit. And, frankly, it had way too many colors, especially after I changed it to a more gray blue. Thankfully, a mutual of mine suggested a color palette I could use based on the colors I shared and I ended up with this one that looked much better and more cohesive in my opinion. It just feels more balanced, you know? Oh, and the rainbow bracelet was a gift from Teruya and she’s worn it ever since. ^^
Hibiki only gets to wear this outfit up to Chapter 5 due to Mikado having to force shut down the Neo World Program from the outside, resetting her avatar and combining her real life state with her current one, but at least it’ll last for three whole chapters.
The Protag Teruya AU was inspired by @/anotherprofessional’s post! Beware of Void spoilers though!

Day 3- Red paladin
Keith is the red paladin. The end.
Woah wait I had an idea.
Texas= Keith’s dad.
Can we just ignore the ‘paladin’ part of the prompt? Because that did not happen.
————————————-
“You’re a firecracker, kid.”
Keith has heard that so many times.
When he was younger, his father used to say it fondly. Anytime he would act out or lose control of his temper, his dad would just ruffle his hair and grin proudly.
Somewhere along the way, Texas had realized that Keith’s flaming personality was not just a child’s phase, and nicknamed his son ‘Red.’
When Keith was forced to go to his father’s stuffy funeral, he had proudly worn his favorite crimson boots and hair tie. He had gotten quite a few stares, and he heard people whispering to each other that he was a disrespectful kid, wearing such bright colors during his own father’s funeral, but it had made him feel the slightest bit better about the whole ordeal to be wearing his special colors. Who cared what those adults thought, anyway?
And when the sky had opened up to pour down on the reception, Keith had stayed put and watched the droplets fall through the veil of his soggy bangs. The grownups ran around and squawked shrilly about their clothing getting wet, and Keith finally had a reason to smile.
Serves them right.
At age 12, Keith learned that red is also the color of pain. The color of blood.
He learns that violence does in fact have consequences. That because he hit this person, they are now bleeding.
It was not his first foster home, and was most definitely not his last. And like every other ‘family’ he had entered, this one sent him right back to the agency he came from. They hadn’t even tried to hide their dislike for him. They said they would not house him because he was a curse.
Keith will see plenty more blood in the years to come.
When he is 13, Keith finds a home he is accepted in.
They are 2 women with sharp, witty personalities that compliment his own. One is tall with dark red hair crawling down her back, Thick black glasses, and cinnamon freckles. The other is shorter with large, dark features and eyes that sparkle like crushed shards of glass. They both have brilliant smiles and tell Keith that he looks good in red as soon as they meet him.
The first thing they do is take Keith to get furniture for his new room. They tell him to pick out anything he wants, because they want him to be comfy in his own spot.
They spend the next months hiking and running along every beach within 50 miles. They try all kinds of foods and they teach Keith about the wonders of the world.
It doesn’t last, though.
The woman with glass shard eyes starts looking duller. Her hair withers and her spine hunches over. She speaks softer now, and the red haired woman dotes over her worriedly at all times.
The day she starts coughing up sparkling red blood, Keith knows this was never going to work out.
There’s some long terms thrown at him when Red Hair tries to explain why they’re getting rid of him. All he understands is the word cancer.
Keith is now 19. He has gained and lost a brother, only to find him once again. He has run away from a school, trying to escape reality. He has explored the desert, and learned about the existence of aliens. He has stood in a giant robotic lion.
Lots of fun stuff.
And now, his old color has come back to haunt him.
These people casually call him Red all the time. He flies in a red lion and wears a red jacket. His weapon is red. It makes sense, but it still hurts.
He learns that red can be the flush in a person’s cheeks while being teased, or after a rigorous training session.
And it stains his own face more often now that he has these new friends, new family.
It has become part of his identity.
The color has come to swallow him whole, and he can’t say that he really minds it.
———————————-
I’m losing motivation… but WILL do (almost) every one of these.

First World Minstrel (Bard Archetype)
(art by A-Faun on DeviantArt)
One good thing about doing these archetypes and options alphabetically is that a lot of similarly-themed archetypes tend to end up in clusters. The bad part is that you quickly grow tired of the same theme both as a reader and a writer.
Thankfully, between fey and First World-themed archetypes, we had a little break in the middle, and now we’re to the last one for a while, but it’s a good one!
While we’ve previously covered bards that either are fey or learned their secrets, today we’re looking at an archetype for someone who has more been affected by the fey realms, rather than being a student of them.
Not to say that you can’t characterize a character with this archetype as someone who learned fey tricks, but I like the aesthetic the subject tries to paint.
Whether they were an ordinary person or already a bard, some people fall into the classic trap of being kidnapped or tricked into servitude by the fey. Some may have been treated as honored guests. Others as hapless victims that may not even have realized what happened to them Either way, they were brought to the First World and spent time there, and whether by escape or by the good graces of their host, they returned, though not the same as they left.
Those that develop bardic talents can channel that change into their performances, bringing a bit of the First World with them long after they have left. Exactly what they do with that power in the Material World, which simultaneously seems duller than they remember and treats them as strange, is up to them.
One of the ways that the magic of these bards is altered is their tendency to summon monsters of nature rather than otherworldly origins, coloring the sort of aid they can call upon, including fey creatures.
They also have a greater understanding of the natural world and seem to empathetically be able to commune with wildlife.
Rather than bolstering the courage of their allies, the most notable change these minstrels exhibit is their ability to infuse one or more allies with a bit of the fey, granting them temporary abilities, such as supernatural resilience, short-range teleportation, invisibility, magical resistance, and so on. The more skilled they are, the more abilities they can grant, either to a single ally or spreading them about.
With another performance, they infuse a foe with bad luck similar to the aura of a pugwampi gremlin.
They are also well-versed in the tricks of nature and the fey, becoming naturally resistant to them. In fact, they might have just enough fey in them that it confuses spells and effects meant for mortals.
If you’re looking for a bard that gets a handful of the defensive powers of a druid, you certain came to the right place. The ability to grant stronger abilities to allies, but only in limited amounts is a bit more specialized than a buff to attack and damage, but can be quite useful regardless. Also debuffing a single foe with unluck, while allowing for a save, can be a fun way to turn a strong monster on it’s head. You lose a little skill utility and defenses against musical and sonic effects, but otherwise you can build these bards much as you normally would, though if you decide to take any summoning spells at higher levels, consider the plant summons feat, which massively increases your array of potential natures allies.
Despite gaining power from the First World, exactly how they feel about that and their power varies a lot by exactly what their experience with it was. Those brought there at a young age might remember it fondly or consider it their true home, though others may have longed for their families. Others might recall their time there as nightmares and terrifying experiences.
It’s no surprise that the jungle planet has a strong connection to the first world, and in turn, that sometimes lashunta go missing in the fey realms, only to return different, like Akyasha, who ever since then has taken to running a fishing boat, as far out from the rainforests as possible. Still, those who sail with her notes she often stays up late and sings strange songs in the middle of the night.
A mental proxy war exists in the coastal city of Mivan, where alghollthu masterminds seek to control the citizens, only to be thwarted by the fey Eldest known as the Conch Singer, who over the decades kidnapped many mortals and trained them in the ways to manipulate the mind with fairy magic, seeding them throughout the city and making things difficult for the underwater tyrants. Soon, they will send a plizeazoth, a brutish put powerful psychic monstrosity, to turn the tide.
All can agree that there is something strange about Lila’s music, but it is nevertheless beautiful, always turning heads whatever tavern she plays at. However, those who know her better than the average patron may notice she never performs on the new moon, and instead wanders into the wilderness outside of town.

*spreads my papers across the desk, starts up power point presentation* Here is my discussion on how cinematically amazing and beautiful HBO’s the Last of Us is:
Okay so first of all: color. Even from the very first episode, color is such integral part of the storytelling. There are so many warm tones used, and they’re mainly used in places where a lot of emotion is present. Sarah’s final bow, Joel and Tess’s first few interactions together on screen, almost the entirety of Bill and Ted’s relationship, Joel’s moments with Ellie alone- a lot of those portray deep emotions.
However, others have more cool tones; namely the very end with Joel and Marlene, but also the aftermath of Ellie and David’s dance (as I like to call it, because it was just so masterfully crafted). There’s such an emotional detachment with these scenes. Joel was completely blinded and tunnelvisioned, a man on a mission, in that last episode. And Ellie was the exact same way when the situation arose with David. Fight to survive, fight to protect, that was the only thing that mattered.
Also, the human experience that is portrayed in this show is fucking wonderful. They’re in the middle of an infectious apocalypse, the world is in ruins and everything is to shambles, and yet you still have the most wonderful, human experiences available. The lunch between Tess, Joel, Bill and Ted, or Ellie and Riley’s date, or even just Joel teaching Ellie how to shoot a firearm. All of those are, for the most part, the most normal things a human can experience in any given scenario, and having that stark contrast is genius to the setting of it all.
Of course, the queer representation too (how could I not touch on this). I have rarely seen a show go so far and tackle queer relationships so well, and I mean- doing it twice in one season? In a day and age where queer relationships on screen are still one of the most controversial things ever? Bill and Ted’s episode was so fucking masterfully crafted and the original game didn’t even lean hard in that direction! It was so fucking beautiful and, in hindsight, the apocalypse started in 2003 so queer relationships/marriage were still taboo and even ILLEGAL in the United States but that love still prevailed! And Ellie and Riley finding that true love they shared for one another, fuck- it was so pure.
There are so many other points to touch on, but this show is a piece of art worth staring endlessly at. It’s so wonderful and HBO really did well by this one.
- silly goofy anon
OHH MY GOSH !!!! SPINNING U AROUND SILLY GOOFY ANON THIS IS AMAZONG <3333
the color thing is so so fucking cool!!! during ellie and riley kinda date in the mall there were SO MANY COLORS !!! on the carousal and the arcade they were always brightly lit! and then when they went to that costume shop, the color wasnt as bright since that was the place where they were both bit </3
and and episode 8!!! in episode 8 there werent bright colors. everything was duller and boring because the focus was on surviving. and then when david is looking for ellie in the burning building, the bright orange color from the flames is growing and growing. and when ellie fucking stabs david, shes SO mad and has so much grief and fear in her and shes so emotional and that entire scene when it focuses on her is just COVERED in the orange light. then when she leaves the building its back to being duller as she's so out of it at that moment.
same with episode 9 when joel is running through the hospital to find ellie. everything is much darker and out of focus because the only thing on joel's mind is saving ellie and keeping her alive.
AND THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE ur so fucking right about that. theres so much. humanity represented. ellie with her pun book, joel and ellie with a giraffe, sam and ellie with the comic books, joel and tess's relationship, bill and frank's relationship?? theres so much love and humanity in the "end of the world" its so beautiful to see.
also i noticed in the game, the zombies are a lot more present than in the show, like the infected are everywhere in the game, while once we escape the urban areas, there are little to no infected present. when we enter the rural areas the conflicts are much more human vs human and i love that a lot because it rlly showcases a lot about humanity.
and queer rep <3 its so refreshing to see good queer rep that isnt just for a diversity check mark. when the apocalypse hit, being gay was still a horribly controversial thing and gay marriage was illegal. so having these queer relationships present?? its amazing. ellie and riley loved each other and even in the face of certain death they loved each other. god theyre story is so tragic i could talk about them forever. they were going to be free together and in love and they were in love. they had so much hope for themselves, for the future. and it all was pulled from them in an instant. and you can just feel the grief and terror from them because they were soo young and they were going to die and they had just discovered this love they had for eachother. :(
and bill and frank. ouhh they're story is so important. they're older gays and they love each other and support each other through the fights and disagreements and fear <3 it was so so <33 so good.
the show was so fucking cool !!! i thought it was so cool how they included the original joel and ellie from the game into the tv show man. this show is just so so amazing. i love how it highlights that there arent rlly any definable "good" people. like joel isnt a "good" person he's selfish and he kills and tortures people but you see the side of him that is loving and caring and that would defend the people he loves with his life. like man i see so many ppl arguing about whether joel's decision to save ellie was wrong or right and thats not the point??? the point is that hes selfish and he wouldnt be able to keep living without ellie and he was not about to lose another daughter. the point wasnt 'is it ethical to sacrifice a 14 year old for the rest of humanity' (although it is an interesting thing to think about) the point was 'joel is selfish and he will not lose another daughter' LIKE???
idk. im so fucking insane about this show <333 thank you for letting me scream i LOVE ur points <3

ok so back when i was FIRST reading wof, i remember peeking into some online spaces surrounding the series and finding a whole lot of people making up their own dragon tribes. i’ve been reading the series again and have gotten much further this time, and am now going to describe to you my very self-indulgent fantribes. do they make sense? not necessarily. i’m having fun making them up though. (also i have not finished the whole series yet so if something i’ve written contradicts canon… just ignore that)
basically the first main bit of information is that these tribes are decended from an early ancestor of the seawings. at some point when those guys started breathing water, a good chunk of them split off from pyrrhia, managed to miss pantala completely, and ended up settling around an archipelago and spreading out into distinct new tribes. some in the water, some not. i will be listing them from highest to lowest geographically. or something like that idk.
StrikeWings
actually very similar to skywings in terms of appearance, though mostly in shades of dark blue and purple, with brighter blue, purple, or green vein-like patterns on the scales
they also host a whole lot of spikes and spines
if you’ve ever seen the show dragons: race to the edge, imagine a skrill. yeah that’s what these guys do. they fly around in thunderstorms and electrically charge their spines. or maybe they produce electricity like an electric eel. idk i haven’t decided yet but. they have lightning abilities is what i’m saying
StrikeWings live and build their towns and cities on the rocky beaches and cliffs of the islands of the archipelago (i am yet to name the archipelago), and cannot breathe water but do spend a lot of time fishing.
they’re tough, a little self-absorbed as a whole, and love sticking their noses in other dragons business.
CoralWings
very brightly colored. whatever color you can imagine on a coral reef, a CoralWing probably has at least a few of them on her scales
they have several curving, rounded horns, like stalks of coral
all around they kinda just look like they stuck coral all over themselves. which they sometimes actually do, but they do also just look like that.
CoralWings have no natural abilities or defenses outside of their water breathing (and their amphibiousness), due to their lack of predators
why no predators? because they live in the reefs and shallows surrounding the islands. nothing scary ever goes that close to the islands outside of sharks and the occasional orca, but what are they gonna do against a DRAGON?
easily the most sociable tribe, being close allies with both the StrikeWings and KelpWings. they also live somewhat in between the two other tribes.
they’re also closely related to the KelpWings
and they have a pretty cozy symbiotic relationship with the StrikeWings. the CoralWings offer pretty shiny things, and are often implored to do a lot of aesthetic-based work. and the StrikeWings protect them.
KelpWings
they look a lot like CoralWings, but with duller colors, coming in muted shades of green, brown, and yellow, with the occasional brighter yellow spots. they also have a lot of stringy, extended soft bits all over their bodies that trail behind them as they swim and look like kelp
bioluminescent, slippery, and can only survive outside of water for a very short period of time
the largest tribe in the archipelago, inhabiting the huge kelp forests surrounding the islands and coral reefs. they also have the most political troubles, with a specific leader for each forest. they also spend a good amount of time in open, empty waters
they have a very broad diet, eating all sorts of things. urchins, mussels, crabs, fish, an otter or shark here and there, you name it. they’re not picky eaters.
but they’re very protective of their kelp forests and always do their best to keep them in tiptop shape
TrenchWings
these ones are my favorite
huge, bulky dragons with thick, armorlike scales. they come in mostly dull dark blueish greys and browns, with the odd exception of a muted pink or orange
based off of dunkleosteus. like HEAVILY based off of them.
bioluminescent, and are incredibly sensitive to movement in surrounding waters. they also have an efficient sense of smell and have such think scales almost nothing can hurt them. oh and they cannot breathe above water and they cannot fly
TrenchWings live in underwater trenches, canyons, and caves. being so very deep below the surface, they have minimal contact with the upper tribes. there are occasional interactions, but little to no trading or friendly conversation
BrineWings
look very similar to KelpWings, but with touches of deep-sea-fish creepiness. and are almost always just shades of grey
same abilities as the TrenchWings, just without the heavy natural armor
small and skinny
they live in the same caves as the TrenchWings, but far deeper than those dragons would ever dare to go, building their settlements in huge caverns rich with life and bioluminescence
they love books and scrolls and writing. they have seemingly endless libraries, and are very scholarly. they’re big fans of information and documenting said information
but unfortunately for them, they have no contact with any tribe outside of the TrenchWings. but even to them, the BrineWings are more of a legend, or a story to scare young dragonets to keep them from venturing deeper into the caves
Leviathans (i’ll come up with a better name at some point. maybe. potentially.)
colossally sized dragons, no tribe knows much about them, cause most who come in contact with them don’t live to tell the tale
these guys are why the TrenchWings are so heavily armored. they’re the TrenchWing’s natural predator
considered monstrous and unintelligent, driven only by hunger and a thirst for destruction
i made them though, and i know better than that. they’re not as intelligent as the other tribes, they’re like the chimpanzee to the other dragon’s human. actually pretty chill, they’re just big and scary.

The Vaping Culture of New Zealand: Project Start - Log 2
For my podcast, I had been experimenting with various types of Title Cards for it.
The initial idea was to use the greens and blues mentioned in the previous log, as well as a simple transparent smoke effect to relate to the idea of smoking/vaping. While this was decent as a basic idea, I do admit that it's currently a little dull.
I went in a vastly different direction for the second attempt, but this one was even duller, not really having much of an identity aside from being a stock image of smoke.
Going back to that first template, I experimented a little with the shapes and added a bit of sheen the colors in order to avoid flat visuals.
Test 3 ended up inspiring a few pallet swaps, with Test 5 in particular being quite appealing to me, on top of conveying the three major ideas wanted with this title card (Calm, Metallic and Smokey)
Test 6 proved even more appealing as the different angling of the shapes can allow for the eyes to be focused on the centre of the title where the text will appear, while still keeping that appealing color pallet.
Test 6 prompted another round of pallet swaps. This wasn't massively successful, with Test 8's color choices being strangely sickening to me for a reason I cannot explain, but I did end up liking Test 9 more than I was expecting.
Currently, my favourites for the Podcast Title Card are Tests 5, 6 and 9.
