hello. you can crack open any of these "disposables" like an oyster and refill them. you don't need to throw a lithium battery away just because the e-juice ran out. buy some e-juice. it's cheap. or make your own. you can drip it into the top of the sponge in there or take the sponge out and soak it or use a syringe to saturate the sponge from top to bottom directly. be careful not to rip the delicate little wires off the circuitboard or the battery, but even if you did, you could re-solder it. "disposable" vapes are one of the biggest consumer scams going rn and it makes me really mad

the lithium and cobalt in these batteries are being destructively mined from multiple places in the world including Congo. you can save an enormous amount of money, time, and avoid contributing to mineral exploitation all at once with this one weird trick

edit: please don't refill nicotine vapes with weed oil or weed vapes with nicotine liquid. different kinds of vapes and also there will be an oil/water problem. refill nicotine vapes with nicotine liquid and weed vapes with weed oil. don't cross-contaminate. I don't think anything catastrophic will happen, I just think it will break the vape and waste your time

"Teen drug use continued to fall in 2024, extending a dramatic decline spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic that experts expected would reverse now that the acute phase of the global crisis is well over.

But, according to data released Tuesday [December 17, 2024], the number of eighth, 10th, and 12th graders who collectively abstained from the use of alcohol, marijuana, or nicotine hit a new high this year. Use of illicit drugs also fell on the whole and use of non-heroin narcotics (Vicodin, OxyContin, Percocet) hit an all-time low.

"Many experts in the field had anticipated that drug use would resurge as the pandemic receded and social distancing restrictions were lifted," Richard Miech, team lead of the Monitoring the Future survey at the University of Michigan, said in a statement. "As it turns out, the declines have not only lasted but have dropped further."

The Monitoring the Future study—which has been running for 50 years and is funded by the National Institutes of Health—surveys a nationally representative group of teens each year on their involvement with the ever-evolving drug landscape. This year, the survey collected data from over 24,000 students at more than 270 public and private schools.

The initial drop in drug use between 2020 and 2021 was among the largest ever recorded. And researchers like Miech expected the rates would bounce back, at least partially. But now, the data suggests the pandemic has started a wave of abstention that is still rippling through grade levels.

A new era

"Kids who were in eighth grade at the start of the pandemic will be graduating from high school this year, and this unique cohort has ushered in the lowest rates of substance use we’ve seen in decades," Miech noted.

For alcohol, use in the past 12 months among eighth graders was at 12.9 percent in 2024, similar to 2023 levels, which are all-time lows. For 10th graders, the rate dropped significantly from 30.6 percent in 2023 to 26.1 percent, and for 12th graders, from 45.7 percent to 41.7 percent—both record lows.

For nicotine vaping, rates fell for 10th graders (from 17.5 percent to 15.4 percent) and remained at low levels for eighth and 12th graders. For marijuana, use remained low for eighth and 10th graders and fell significantly for 12th graders (from 29 percent to 25.8 percent). All three grades are at lows not seen since 1990.

For abstainers from alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine in the prior 30 days, the rate among eighth graders hit 90 percent, up from 87 percent in 2017, when it was first measured. The rate was 80 percent among 10th graders, up from 69 percent in 2017, and 67 percent for 12th graders, up from 53 percent in 2017.

"This trend in the reduction of substance use among teenagers is unprecedented," Nora Volkow, director of NIH’s National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), said. "We must continue to investigate factors that have contributed to this lowered risk of substance use to tailor interventions to support the continuation of this trend.""

Honestly though, your question is a very good one that needs addressing! The thing is, I strongly believe that there should still be limits to the turtle's ninpo abilities, as powerful as they are. Leo for example, requires some sort of metal to siphon his portals into existence.

While Donnie could indeed create a vape he would not know how to create the nicotine compound you place within it. Thus rendering the tool useless. If he could then there would be nothing stopping him from simply creating food, water, coffee and all the essentials needed to live well in the apocalypse. His focus has always been on energy and metal/plastic compounds. Now theoretically if he had spent all those years of training to learn and understand certain complex organic compounds to their very atomic core then PERHAPS he could have learned how to make such things. But that would be a completely different universe in which his weapons and bombs were not needed.

...Also he didn't start smoking until after the fall of the Central Park Colony where he loses his Ninpo, but that's beside the point haha. Hope that clears some thing up!

fastest way to tell if someone genuinely cares about addicts and people with mental health issues in general? ask them how they feel about people who vape. vaping is and has been a hot button issue for like the last ten years or so and the way you hear people talk about people who vape, including teenagers, actual children, is insane. “at least i can go five minutes without needing a hit of flavored air” “kids who vape are cringe and just doing it to look cool” “when the addict loses their pen and tears their whole house apart looking for it” it’s like. you guys are just making fun of addiction. vapes are extremely addictive, way more so than cigarettes, and their flavors are deliberately targeted at children and young people. you achieve nothing by making fun of “kids who vape,” especially when you turn around five seconds later and claim to care about addicts. valing is an addiction like any other.

A new study led by researchers from the University of Nebraska has found that regular vapers between the ages of 13 and 17, who report using an e-cigarette at least eight times a day, have 30 percent more lead and twice as much uranium in their urine compared to their peers who only occasionally vape. Among teens who preferred sweet vape flavors, as opposed to menthol or mint ones, biomarkers of uranium were especially high. The research lacks a control group of teens who did not vape at all, but the pattern evident within a US sample of 200 e-cigarette users who avoided cigarettes is still concerning. For the sake of public health, the researchers argue for further investigation into the potential toxicity of e-cigarettes. The results of this small study do not prove that vaping causes toxic metal accumulation in the body, but previous analyses have consistently found signs of toxic metals in e-cigarette aerosol samples and in the bodily fluid of vapers. At times, the blood and urine samples of vapers rival even those of cigarette smokers.

When Nick, Matt and Chris moved to LA you found it hard. Justin obviously had his own life too, so it was strange not having any of your brothers around. Not having them around meant you struggled a lot, resulting in falling into the wrong group of friends and picking up bad habits.

The worst habit you picked up was vaping. Your parents didn't know that you kept it a secret. You would often sit by your window so your room didn't smell or hide behind school when you did it there.

That's where you were now. Standing behind the school building with your friends. You were vaping as you listened to your friend Jennie ramble on about your maths teacher.

"He's a fucking asshole, said I should start thinking of my future, like dude, I'm only sixteen!" She exclaimed as she puffed on her cigarette.

You laughed and kept taking hits of your vape. You then got a message from your mum saying there was a surprise at home for you.

"Well school is nearly over, I'm going to start heading home. See you later." You said to your friends.

They said their goodbyes as you slowly walked home. You took a few more puffs of your vape before hiding it in your pocket. When you walked into the house, you heard various voices.

"I'm home!" You called.

You then walked through to the kitchen and your eyes went wide as you saw Nick, Matt and Chris. They had called you over the weekend and when you asked when they would visit again, they answered with being unsure as they had loads of work, but now they were standing in the kitchen.

"Hey kid!" Matt exclaimed.

"Hey, your home!" You cheered, rushing to give them each a hug.

What you didn't think about at that moment was the smell of your vape. You only liked the sweet ones, but your brothers had good scenes and had been to a few classic LA parties, so they could smell a vape, alcohol and cigarettes from a mile away.

"New perfume, kid?" Chris asked you.

"Um yeah, trying something new." You lied, trying to drop the subject quickly.

Chris nodded and looked at Matt and Nick, who both looked suspicious too. They didn't say anything and thought to talk to you later.

You all chilled for a bit, you getting anxious as you felt the need for a vape break. Dinner soon rolled round, which distracted you for a bit, as you listened to your brothers tell you more stories from LA.

When you finished, you went off to your room. You sat at your window, vaping for a bit, when suddenly Nick, Matt and Chris burst in, catching you in the act.

"What the fuck kid!" Nick shouted.

"Shit." You mumbled, placing the vape down.

"So it's not a "new perfume", is it?" Chris called.

"I....No." You admitted, lowering your head in shame.

"Sit down. We clearly need to talk." Matt said, pointing to your bed.

You sighed and sat down on your bed, Nick sitting next to you as Matt sat on your desk chair and Chris stood up, pacing slightly.

"Let's start off simple, sweetheart. This has got to stop." Nick said, pointing to the vape.

"I know." You said.

"Why?" Chris asked.

"I...I just fell into bad habits. I started vaping mostly, if my friends had a party, I would drink. I know it's all wrong, but it was a way to cope." You confessed.

"Cope with what, petal?" Matt asked.

"Missing you." You answered, tears falling down your face.

The three shared a look, all feeling upset for you. They knew you missed them, as they missed you too, but didn't think anything like this would ever happen.

"Jennie started it, fuck I know I shouldn't have agreed to hang out with her, but I was desperate." You cried.

"Who's Jennie?" Chris asked.

"My friend. I met her last year, she has a few friends, some of which are out of school, she smokes and drinks. Fuck I'm such an idiot I should have never agreed to hang out with her. I'm such a dumbass." You answered, tugging at your hair in anger.

"Hey kiddo, calm down. Take a deep breath." Nick whispered, taking your hands gently, holding them in his own.

"What we're going to do is talk to mum and dad. Will they be angry? Maybe but if we explain everything, which we will be right by your side to do, it will be okay." He said.

"Will you promise to stop?" Matt asked.

"100%, I need a new way to cope." You answered quickly.

"We will help you, okay sweetheart." Nick said, making you nod.

"You could come back to LA with us for a while. You need a break." Chris suggested.

"For real?" You asked.

"We can talk to mum and dad, but I'm sure it will be okay." Nick responded.

You smiled softly and knew it would be hard, but your brothers were there to help you.
