okay first of all i left this in my askbox for far too long given how much this appeals to me how did you know that build a bear is my weakness hgilaskdgji /j

second of all YES that's so cute......in my head actor tends to be really shy when he's regressed in public (at least when he's aware he's little, i think he regresses unknowingly sometimes and he tends to be less self unconscious in those cases dhglksdj) so i'm imagining him cuddling in to y/n's side as they enter the store, hiding his face in their side and getting all flustered when the employee says hi to him waaaa 😭

he's so thorough when he looks through each of the stuffed animals, considering each of them very seriously (he's choosing a new friend both for him and his other stuffies, after all!!) and once he finds one he connects with he lets y/n lead him to the stuffing machine, letting them talk to the employee and whispering his answers into their ear about what he wants.......it's so sweet he's not usually this shy at home or when he's out when he's big and it just MELTS them (also thinking about y/n putting a personalized audio message in.......hhh)

if y/n is REALLY planning on spoiling him they let him dress his friend up too and he takes that just as seriously (his new friend has to look just as good as he does ofc), and he's so proud of his work.......he keeps smiling at his stuffy as they're checking out and mumbling to y/n about their backstory because of course he's already writing one in his head, he's a storyteller at heart! and y/n keeps smiling back at him as they pay, shooting the fondest looks at their baby because he's so excited and happy about their new friend and they did that for him! they gave him something that's making him smile so big and so sweetly and they also can't stop smiling like an idiot because god he's so cute he's so happy this is all they wanted out of this trip :')))

and yessss......build a bears are often in malls so i can see them stopping by a starbucks or a little coffee shop they have in there, or maybe they decide to go somewhere a little more fancy and indie (i certainly love me a an indie coffee shop lol). normally, mark is a certified caffeine fiend but i think when he's little he jumps for sweetness first over that and honestly, he gets a little hyperactive on caffeine when he's small anyway so y/n probably steers him away from it as best they can XD but i'm also sure y/n gets a sweet coffee drink of their own though and lets him have a sip because he's spooooiiileeed let him have the best of both worlds hgldksajgklasdf

in my old apartment, i had both my little wiry terrier mutt dog (he lives with my mom and dad currently) and my cat. one time i had a mouse running around in my back room - while i was trying to figure out what the hell to do about it i saw my cat just like. watch it scurry right in front of her with only a mildly intrigued look on her face. but a moment after, the second it got close to my terrier he lunged forward and broke its neck so fast and so clean it seemed to surprise him as much as it surprised me. there was literally no blood, just a flash of teeth and it was over. all that to say that i think terriers are tenacious little shits with a prey drive that’s so much larger than their size would imply

i REALLY wish more people who kept barn cats for pest control would instead keep or invite over working terriers to their farms. i love cats but they aren't as reliable, don't fair great against rats, and take a lot of native bycatch when allowed to roam freely.

It's sad because it feels like terrier breeds have just fallen out of favour in general. i'm a zillenial cusper and i remember the tail end of wishbone's popularity and the noughties hot pink purse dog era which included some terriers, it's a shame the latter niche has been replaced by french bulldog ownership..

Does anyone else ever notice how Gale is sometimes depicted in Hunger Games stories as an abusive jerk to Katniss or a controlling manipulative bastard(get real people, like she would let him) OR a jealous prick who sets out intentionally to sabotage her relationship with Peeta? Just to name a few.

Why? To justify Everlark. (Luckily lots of Everlark stories don’t actually do this but I still see it and it’s irritating hence this rant)

Gale is actually written OOC a lot just so people can claim that Katniss belongs with Peeta who is apparently so perfect. And I hate it. That’s right up there with (likely) these same people who completely ignore the fact that Peeta manipulated Katniss into a relationship with him prior to the 74th Games during the interviews. (As I said in an earlier post too, the fact that Peeta kept pressuring her after the rebellion to have kids until she gave in just… that bothers me. But I digress.)

Yes, his feelings were probably genuine and yes, Haymitch also played a role in this but it was honestly a d*ck move for him to pull especially since neither of them told her this is what was gonna happen. So she faked it through the 74th Games. And Snow made her continue after while forcing Gale into the role of her cousin instead, something that neither Gale or Katniss liked, as it made them uncomfortable.

I feel that she was with Peeta at the end because she needed hope and he was almost like another Prim for her. Someone she needed to protect. But what happens once she feels like she can stand on her own again? And don’t even get me started on how wildly Gale’s characterization veers into left field upon arrival at District 13. That whole bit made little to no sense to me. Then there’s the end where Collins writes him off by “he goes to District 2 and no one sees him again”. Really.

Everyone in Twelve also probably believed that Everthorne was endgame as the two were seen constantly together and obviously cared about the other and their families very much. Until the reaping happened. As I said before, Katniss’s true love is her sister Prim but Peeta ultimately was Snow’s choice for her. Katniss’s choice was Gale and she even said so in Catching Fire. “Gale is mine and I am his. Anything else is unthinkable”.

So I hate that Suzanne Collins ultimately didn’t have the guts to follow through with that.

Not going to lie, I’m surprised the fandom isn’t eating up the new tone shift and characters’ struggles in ep5. Maybe I’m not looking in the right spaces but fandoms usually love that stuff.

I KNOW I mean the amount of angst art that was made prior to the episode really made me think people were gonna take everything from the new ep and run with it. Though that's not to say people didn't. I've seen plenty of people discuss what happened in the episode (especially regarding John and his daughter/his family in general,, people were going insane over that and I get it like we're getting deeper into what happened to him and his family which I'm also super interested in. Plus seeing his photos in Ignacio's house really got people discussing his connections/past with the cult and how there's such a specific focus on John).

Oof, I can see that, especially considering that one comment Zeno had made about Hunter not being used to how comfortable hugs are and just conking out whenever someone hugs him.

Even if he was sleeping better in the Human Realm, on behalf of not having the duties of a soldier anymore and feeling somewhat safe for the first time in his life, it didn't seem to be enough to catch up on all the rest he needs from pretty much years of sleep deprivation. It's likely he wasn't resting too well even if he had the time, because even if he was avoiding thinking about all of his trauma, the secrets Luz and him were hiding weren't exactly making for the most calm of experiences, and it's probable too that he had nightmares about everything despite refusing to address the issues while awake.

I don't think avoiding everything is going to be an option anymore after everything. He might want to try, but after Flapjack's death and now that they're back on the Demon Realm and he's living with Darius and Eberwolf, he doesn't have an excuse like "oh, I have to focus on trying to build a portal" or "I don't have time to think about what happened to me because I need to plan for where I'm gonna live and what I'm gonna do". For the first time in his life, he's going to have an stable living situation and while there will be a kinda awkward period of adjustment while Darius, Eber and him get used to their new dynamic, he's still the safest he's ever been in all senses, which means all of that trauma is finally going to catch up on him.

As a result, I think the nightmares are going to get a lot worse at the beginning, and without a goal to gather energy to fulfill, he truly is going to have no choice but to feel and process whatever he's feeling and that alone is going to be exhausting.

So, Darius or Eber hug him? He closes his eyes and he's half asleep like five seconds into the hug. He's sitting at the table waiting for breakfast and his head almost slams on the table because he started snoozing accidentally. He sits down on the couch and he tries to keep his eyes open but they're already half-closed by the time one of the other two join him. They're out in town and Darius feels him leaning against him and suddenly more and more of his weight is resting on him. It's a bit concerning but they figure that he has a LOT of sleep to catch up on and if he merely needs to rest, then there's no harm done, though they probably try to double check with a healer just in case.

If he's by Darius or Eber's side while sitting down, they just hug him closer and adjust him enough so his neck won't be sore when he wakes up, but they let him sleep. If they're out, Darius has no problem giving him a piggyback ride or carrying him until they get home and he can lay him down on a bed. Unless Hunter has a previous commitment he really has to attend or he has to eat or anything like that, they try to let him sleep, and only make sure he's comfortable and warm.

Hunter finds it a bit embarrassing and probably has that learned guilt of "I'm being far too lazy and they're going to get fed up with me eventually" because of all those years with Belos, but overtime he relaxes a bit because neither of them seems to really mind. In fact, suddenly there are more pillos and blankets on the couch, on the back of chairs at the dining table and anywhere that Hunter could feasibly fall asleep on.

It feels a bit baffling since once again the house is looking a bit messier because of his presence but Darius, who's the only one who could be vaguely irritated by it, was even the one to suggest it, and as odd as it is, Hunter does like the feeling of being cared for like this.

I know it's been said before, but I think my biggest gripe with Izzy's death is that it felt like it was written and finished before S1 was even done, and then S2 was written like "ok Izzy dies this season so we have to make sure the audience feels sad about it." So they developed Izzy but never went back to the original script for the death scene and instead just went with the original draft despite literally all of S2 (and some of S1) contradicting what was supposed to be the emotional core of it

the Asphodel stuff?? regret? where is that coming from? you fully just made that shit up? out of his ass fr. the fields of Asphodel are specifically an area of neutrality, where the pretty much all mortals go when they die. it's for anyone who lived a normal life, who isn't a hero or a literal monster. it's specifically a neutral zone for people to exist once they die, it has nothing to do with ~your regrets in life~. it's like, a peaceful field of flowers where all your life's troubles are left behind on the surface.

the closest things to that is the fields of mourning/sorrow, but that's specifically for unrequited romantic love and also not called the fields of Asphodel (and also I'd bet money that rr doesn't know what that is) (and also only in Virgil's The Aeneid and not the Odyssey with the rest of what we know of the underworld)

Hello! I'm here with ~another~ text post!

I unfortunately had assumed "ah yes, The Anxiety" has been my problem recently but in fact, no. It was The Depression! (or a combo, super likely!) Due to this, I will be taking a brief mental break from posting art here. The break may be three days, might be a week. Truly a mystery even to me.

I will be drawing daily so when I return I should have multiple pictures to show off which I will separate in posts by fandom. Drawing really helps calm me down unless I get to the point where it feels like a performance obligation which it currently feels like.

I appreciate your patience and I hope to be okay enough to be back soon.
