It's a compilation and also there's some Stone for practice bc I have no idea how to draw him pipipi Eggman is easier bc it's just his Sonic Boom design (I love it)

-Robotnik and Stone are married, very much married. Cartoon villains in love, I love that for them.

-["MARTHA I'M COMING HOME SWEETIE-"] Mixing up the movie things and the whatever's going on in the Sonic Boom, so Robotnik was gone for eight months and when he's back she's already born.

>Also the drawing is a reference to Icarly's "Whatcha got there?" "A smoothie" but she was clearly asking about the ostrich Spencer brought with him.

>Alternatively, Eggman's there and they go through the journey together yippiee. Choosing names, making evil parenting plans and whatever, being their idiot selves.

(After celebrating because they're good news actually) "I want a boy or a girl-" (Eggman) "Yeah me too." (Stone) "-and we should name them a single, worth of remembering name! Like... Eggette for a girl and Eggson for a boy." "I'm not letting you name them any of that, doctor..." "Okay, then how about Beyonce for a girl and-"

-In the one where he comes back and the baby's already there, Eggman does a terrible job as a father the few first months, but then he gets the hang of it and it's not so bad.

>"Surprisingly, I'm a good father" he thinks one day and it's because he's still very much an orphan here with no frame of comparation or example aside from researching the matter.

-In the one where they wait for her together, he does all the research necessary in all those months, absolutely refusing in doing an average job in that matter, he's the great Ivo Robotnik c'mon. He excels at anything and he'll be a great father (jk he's terrified of fucking up).

-The Stobotnik family is an evil but loving family, like the bears in Puss in Boots whwh criminal family✨

-For the funny of it, Sonic and Eggman got a sort of relationship like in Sonic Boom, so sometime maybe our favorite boy, Tails and Knuckles had to look after their child.

-Also since Knuckles broke Stone's and Robotnik's hands with their handshake, let's have him handle the baby with the most careful grip ever, just to demonstrate that he didn't have to grab their hands that hard aksdjask

-She's a big fan of Sonic and friends (Sonic the Hedgehog, not Sonic Wachowski, the second guy hadn't done even half the things she admires him for, but no one has the heart to tell her when she's a kid). Has a bunch of merch and all the comics of Sonic the Hedgehog.

>When she's a teenager she proudly uses her Sonic backpack in the same way Deadpool uses his Hello Kitty backpack.

-BTW Sonic, Knuckles and Tails are all brothers and Maddie and Tom's kids bc that's the best idea ever made.

-ALSO I'm definitely gonna draw that scene where Knuckles was about to put the baby in the blender and Sonic shouts THE CHILI DOG NOT THE BABY. Some day, you'll see pipipi.

-SAGE was created for various reasons, to be her sister (since she wouldn't stop asking for one but neither Stone nor Robotnik were willing in raising another human kid, thanks very much), to protect her, and also to answer the tedious "why?" questions that neither father had the patience for (A+ parenting right there). Maybe she was used for the original purpose too idk (I don't know that sonic game where she debuts).

>The child's delighted about having a sister, then she grows up and SAGE doesn't, so she has a little sister.

>METAL SONIC TOO MAYBE? Perfect lil american family, the two happily married parents and their three kids (one human girl, an IA and a robot clone of their alien enemy).

-On her early months she was called Pebble, because she really was a mini Stone, Robotnik went along with it (bc he also looked at her and only saw his husband whw) until she was a little older and they started calling her by her name.

>Alternatively, since Eggman was gone, Stone waited for him to return in hopes of choosing together a name for their child, and Pebble worked as a placeholder since she was just a bebi.

>Alternatively alternatively, Eggman came up with the nickname. ROCK-ONNAISSANCE 🗣️ also yeah I know he was going crazy from the mushroom stuff, but he's not above making silly puns, he's a dad now and also he's naturally silly.

-She's a spoiled kid and also a little menace, unintentionally evil, she can't help it.

>Good-hearted too sometimes, she loves Sage and does her best to protect her back (it's not necessary but it's appreciated anyways).

-Robotnik calls himself 'daddy' way too much in the live-action movies to ignore it, so he's daddy and Stone's dad (dada when she was younger).

>"These are my daddies!" (points to what's clearly two villains -but also good fathers-)

-She has Robotnik's eyes but as big as Stone's. They're the lethal-est sad puppy eyes ever (they work wonders on both parents and other people) (both men got beautiful dark brown eyes with visible eyelashes fight me).

>Also, you know that picture of Lee Majdoub with the beautiful everything? I think he was wearing eyeliner so my Stone wears eyeliner too in contrast to Eggman's dark circles under his eyes JDJS😭

-She's the five-year-old that made Sonic fear them because 'they can be so cruel when they sense weakness' (she was brutally honest as any young kid is).

-Stone and Robotnik got Gomez and Morticia Addams kinda parenting. They see their child beating up someone and they're like:

"What did we do wrong?" (Stone while shaking his head in disappointment) "I know... she lacks resourcefulness." (Eggman) "Exactly, there's her baseball bat right there, why doesn't she use it?"

-Remember that Shadow said in a game that he wouldn't mind taking a candy from a baby? (fandub I think but still) This comes in handy when neither Tails, Sonic or Knuckles want to upset the kid (so Shadow does it instead).

-She plays sports too because she got too much energy. In each of them she loses her patience. She grabs the football and hauls it at the nearest team member, she throws her baseball bat to the ground and starts beating up whoever threw the ball that she missed, she stomps in frustration if she loses, she's great at dodgeball (sends her classmates to the infirmary).

-Throws tantrums and stuff and overall's an annoying kid if she's upset. Eggman's like UGH WHY'S SHE LIKE THIS?? and Stone's like Because of you, doctor (terrible temperament runs in the family and also Robotnik just spoiled her too much).

-I'm kinda dressing her up in the clothes that existed in my mind that supposedly Eggman wore (the weird dress-like jacket with the big zipper in the middle). Under her jacket there's a dress in the same pattern as the original Eggman's clothes, also she wears a baby onesie like that too.

-When she's older she's definitely proud of her fathers, but she doesn't appreciate the rumors that she's prone to go power-crazy like Robotnik did. Especially because it may be true, but what do they know.

-For the irony, she can't stand drinking coffee, but loves the smell of it because it reminds her of home (omg).

-THEY HAVE A PET CAT like I read in some fics and her name is Robot and she's a lil shit and also grumpy like Robotnik.

>Maybe she brings her alive mice to experiment on all sort of stuff (like Pávlov and his dogs and the guy Skinner with his mice and cats (??))

-She gets to hang out with Sonic and friends under the condition of annoying him as much as possible. So, she complies. (She loves Sonic the Hedgehog, but she loves making her fathers happy more).

-Very smart kid but not to the level of Tails or Robotnik at that age, she's just got very good memory and learning skills and knows a lot of stuff ever since she was a little kid. More like a Matilda-kinda intelligence.

-She's a scientist when she grows up too but the kind that makes evil potions and serums and stuff aksjdk probably (chemistry things? biochem idk). She can make silly little robots for the fun of it but it's not her passion, unlike Robotnik and Stone's. PROBABLY. I'm still deciding.

-BTW LOOK (it says 'carefully crafted ploy to distract space porcupines')

in 3, this is after they get the job at the lab and Wingdings realizes its a great place for supporting his unhealthy habits of seclusion and emotional repression. Seriously though, while I'm of the personal opinion that her bracelets are weights like they are in the GBA games, I ALSO am a diehard fan of chaos-user!Amy.  In fact, ice been saying for years now that she IS a chaos user—she just gives her more supernatural combative abilities cutesy or simplified names as opposed to Shadow's more technical naming conventions. 

Storming Heart is a derivative form of Chaos Spear, which in the games looks slower and more concussive like a bomb might be.  Rose Typhoon is just a Chaos Blast supplemented by the shockwaves she generates using her hammer. 

I wouldn't be surprised if the more technical terms for her Invisibility and Precognitive abilities—referring to her tarot readings, accurate intuition, etc.—were something along the lines of "Chaos Shroud" and "Chaos Divination" respectively.  Then there's her pocket dimension where she keeps things like her hammer and cards, so that could just be accessing her own personal "Chaos Space".  Hells, she even has a uniquely strong capacity to sense the energy of other people and things, which is what makes her such a great tracker in canon, and if the energy she's sensing is actually just the chaos energy all living things naturally possess in varying strengths and signatures, then maybe she also employs a sort of "Chaos Dowsing" technique. 

Idk if you can tell, but I'm a big Amy fan lol.  I usually just love all-arounder characters like her—seeing how she's faster than Tails and Knuckles but not Sonic, stronger than Sonic and Tails but not Knuckles, and smarter than Sonic and Knuckles but not Tails.  Also, a sweet, peppy magical girl who's greatest traits are her passion and kindness?  Sign me tf up. 

Would be funny for her to ask Shadow to teach her Chaos abilities now that she knows to take off the inhibitors and for him to be all ???? "What are you talking about? You use them all the time??" lol. My shadamy shipper heart would also just love to see them grow closer over this, but that's neither here nor there

i love amyyyy i love her so much. her abilities are so wild and all over the place and the moment you think deeper abt them youre like,,,, how tf does she do what she does actually why tf does she have a pocket dimension. and you're so right abt the naming thing!!

to me it just makes sense her being a chaos energy user. all the other hedgehogs can do it, she's got abilities that are very similar to theirs, it makes sense that she channels chaos energy too. if sega weren't cowards, she'd have a super form by now 😔

Harry laughed and brought the microphone up to his lips. "Sorry, sorry! I'm very much taken, lads. My girlfriend wouldn't be too pleased if I went accepting offers from admirers!"

Y/N felt a rush of giddy affection watching from the wings. Even after all these years of dating, of building a life together, hearing Harry refer to her as his girlfriend still made her heart flutter.

After the show, Harry swept her up into a tight embrace, breathing her in. "You know I'm crazy about you, right love?" he murmured against her hair.

"I know," Y/N replied, feeling warm and content in the circle of his arms. "I'm pretty crazy about you too, just in case that wasn't clear."

He pulled back with a teasing grin. "Oh, I don't know. You'll have to remind me more often. I'm getting forgetful in my old age."

She swatted him playfully. "You're ridiculous. Now c'mon, I want to get takeaway from that Thai place you like before heading home."

As they walked out to the car hand-in-hand, Harry's bodyguard Mick greeted them with a nod. "Nice show tonight, H. You too, Y/N."

"Thanks Mick," Harry said easily. He always insisted that Y/N be treated as an equal part of the team by his staff and security. From the moment they got together, he made it clear she wasn't just another fling or hanger-on.

In the calm of their flat later, settled on the couch with cartons of fragrant Thai curry, Y/N felt a swell of love for this man. This generous, humble, wildly talented man who could have anyone he wanted but chose her. Chose to keep choosing her, day after day.

Harry must have sensed her watching him, because he looked up and caught her eye with a quizzical smile. "What're you thinking about over there?"

She shook her head a little. "Just…feeling really lucky, I guess. That of all the girls who fancy you, you picked me."

His eyes softened and he set his food down, reaching over to take her hand. "Y/N, you've got it backwards, love. I'm the lucky one. You're the most amazing person I know."

A lump rose in her throat at his earnest tone. "You can't just…say stuff like that and expect me to keep it together," she protested shakily.

Harry's thumb stroked over her knuckles. "It's true though. You make me want to be better, do more with the chances I've been given. I'm in awe of you every day."

Unable to find the words, Y/N leaned in and kissed him deeply, trying to convey the depths of her feelings. Harry kissed her back with equal fervor, until a wet noodle hit the side of his face with a comical splat sound.

They broke apart, stunned for a beat, until Y/N started giggling helplessly. Soon they were both consumed by laughter, food containers forgotten as they held each other. These were the moments Y/N cherished most - the simple intimacy, the shared joy of being thoroughly themselves with each other.

She couldn't imagine her life without Harry's bright spirit, without his love and support buoying her up. They had been through so much together already - the difficult early days of dating an international superstar, the intense scrutiny and pressure from all sides, the constant travelling and time apart.

Through it all, they had remained committed to choosing each other, fighting for their relationship no matter what curveballs life threw their way.

As their laughter faded off into contented silence, Harry pulled Y/N closer until she was tucked against his side. She let out a happy sigh, feeling utterly at peace.

"You know," Harry murmured after a while. "All those fans shouting for me, acting like I'm some big prize to be won…they don't realize I'm the one who hit the jackpot, getting to be with my best friend."

Not trusting her voice, Y/N simply squeezed him tighter. She knew there would always be people trying to get between them, throwing doubts and obstacles in their path. But she also knew with so much certainty - as long as they had this, had each other, nothing else mattered.

Over the next few months, tour life resumed in earnest. Frantic dashes through airports, screaming crowds, hotel room nights blurring together, every waking moment scheduled to the max. Y/N was grateful she could be by Harry's side through the whirlwind, her familiar presence keeping him grounded and sane.

One night after a show in Los Angeles, they were lounging on the hotel room sofa, Harry's head pillowed in Y/N's lap as she carded her fingers gently through his freshly-shampooed hair that always smelt so fucking good.

"You were amazing tonight, babe," Y/N murmured. "That whole stadium was eating out of the palm of your hand."

Harry hummed contentedly at her praise, his eyes slipping closed. "Felt good up there. Like all the pieces just clicked into place once I saw your face in the crowd."

Y/N's heart squeezed at his words. "You mean that?"

"Of course." He blinked up at her solemnly. "Having you there, it's…it's like coming home, no matter where we are in the world."

Tears pricked at the corners of Y/N's eyes as she leaned down to kiss him tenderly. She loved this man so deeply it terrified her sometimes.

As the kiss deepened, Harry's hands came up to cradle her face, holding her to him almost desperately. Soon they were a tangle of roaming hands and shared breaths, shedding layers of clothing with increasing urgency until they lay skin-to-skin, hot and bothered.

Harry trailed hot, openmouthed kisses down the column of Y/N's throat as she arched beneath him with a breathy moan. "Need you," he rasped against the hollow of her neck. "Need to be with you, feel you…"

"Yes, yes Harry please," she panted, raking her nails down his back.

He shuddered at her touch and surged up to capture her lips again in a searing kiss. Then, with practiced tenderness, he sank into her welcoming heat and they both let out ragged gasps at the intensity of that joined feeling.

Moving together in a rhythm, Harry and Y/N lost themselves in each other, with moans and whimpers exchanged between the two as they chased their highs. This was their oasis, their refuge from the craziness of the world outside - just the two of them, tangled up in each other utterly.

Aftershocks still trembling through them both, Harry gathered Y/N close and pressed his lips to her damp hairline.

"I love you," he murmured thickly. "I love you so bloody much, Y/N."

She tilted her head back to gaze at him with sparkling eyes. "I know. And I love you, Harry. Always."

Smiling softly, he brushed the pad of his thumb over her swollen bottom lip. "Forever my girl?"

"Forever," she promised.

It's late, I'm bored, I wanna ramble about a thing.

So, a while back, I did that thing again where I had an art commission made (shoutout @thenovika); it never got shared on here, but it was shared on other places. And I feel like talking about it a little bit, just for kicks. And also to share the deep lore that's been burning in my head concerning it, some of which might not 100% track, but fuck it, it's my imagination, and I decide the path it takes.

To start, said commission is this:

Firstly, yes, this is using "Quantum Leap Jesus Painting" as a reference.

Believe it or not, this is the last time this becomes relevant in this rant; things are gonna deviate quick here.

Secondly, this post is mainly a (very long delayed) response to some people's interpretation of what is going on in the image; namely, that Julie-Su is dead.

This was never my intention... however, admittedly, my intention is somewhat worse. Essentially, the intrusive thoughts were angry.

Let me explain: For those unaware, in the Archie comics, prior to the Big Legal Kerfluffle that resulted in the SGW reboot, Rouge was, to be blunt, a self-serving bastard, and basically didn't give a shit that Knuckles had a girlfriend.

Later on in the comic, Knuckles was going through The Shit due to briefly being evil (long fucking story) and trying to "free" people from technology and shit, and decided after everything was said and done that he needed to self-isolate.

Fast forward two issues, and Knuckles decides to return to public life... mainly thanks to Rouge wanting to further an agenda (that I don't really think gets revealed, given how the comics soon quickly fall down a cliff in terms of #shenangans and #lawsuits).

And here is where the thoughts started getting loud; Rouge could've tried to have it both ways: Get Knuckles back in to the fight, and also keep him to herself.

After all, Knuckles did have a good reason to stay away from Julie-Su after The Shit happened...

Yeah, he almost did that; stands to reason he could be convinced to keep his distance... or, rather, be convinced Julie-Su wanted to keep her distance.

Here is where the real shit kicks into gear with how this plays out in my brain: In order to play both sides (and, this is important, there is a very small window of opportunity Rouge would have her to prevent Knuckles from properly reuniting with her), Rouge confronts Julie-Su privately shortly after The Shit and, upon pushing just the right buttons (basically insinuating to her that it was her fault Knuckles went through The Shit at all), Rouge manipulates her into having that long-awaited rematch between the two of them in a private location... where she basically wipes the floor with her (she can kick Knuckles' ass just fine, this wouldn't be nothing in comparison; plus, cybernetics can be shorted out, just a tip), and knocks her out (see the first image).

Now.

You may have noticed my decision to use the phrase "play both sides".

Well, that's because that was what I was thinking of.

As much as she wanted Knuckles for herself, Rouge wouldn't kill Julie-Su directly.

She'd kill the idea of her.

She'd take her home. To a familiar face.

Who is on the record not above screwing with Julie-Su's brain to get what she wants.

(Plus, it's implied that chip never came out...)

And now also has a new partner in crime to help make the transition process smoother.

And Rouge 100% would A) know how to contact Lien-Da, B) talk her into taking part in this plan, and C) turn a blind eye to it all after the fact.

So, yes, in a very warped sense, everyone wins.

Knuckles gets to start moving on from The Shit, no longer burdened with one of the biggest reminders of how deep that went.

Rouge gets her prize.

Lien-Da gets to clear the slate and start fresh with a new ally, and a new member of the Dark Egg Legion.

And as far as everyone is concerned, Julie-Su has left for greener pastures, for her own good.

Rouge wouldn't kill Julie-Su. Not directly. Too many lost resources that way.

...but maybe it'd be merciful the other way around...

The Yellowjackets had been spreading their theories about Spider-Man since he was first spotted in New York, just across the river.

It was surprisingly Misty who came up with the theory that he was actually from Jersey City, after how many times he’d been spotted on the ferry that takes you across the Hudson from Midtown. Nat had disagreed, stating that he was probably in Jersey City so often because of the amount of freaks patrolling the streets.

Most of your teammates think it’s stupid—with Jackie saying it’s just some asshole trying to get on Subway Creatures, and Tai saying the guy in the suit just wants to piss off J. Jonah Jameson. Laura Lee thinks he’s devilish. Nat indulges in the fantasies after having witnessed one of Spider-Man’s fights firsthand (and also because she likes to piss off Jackie.)

The girls are all over at your apartment tonight for the regularly scheduled movie night. Everyone takes turns— last time it was Tai, and now it was you.

You’re in the bathroom washing your hands when there’s a THUD! from the fire escape outside the bathroom window.

You frown, wondering if you should check. Is it your neighbors, smoking a blunt? Or is there maybe a cat that needs help?

You yank up the blinds to check, deciding it’s better to know than risk it distracting you the rest of the night.

It’s not your neighbors, and it’s definitely not a stray cat.

It’s Spider-Man.

You can’t do much but freeze and mumble, “You’re shitting me.”

He stares back at you with comically wide, unblinking eyes. He points at the windowsill and mimes pushing it up before silently pleading with his hands.

You sigh. Of course this would happen. All you can do as you unlock the window is pray that it’s actually Spider-Man, and not some douche in a costume looking to take advantage of an unsuspecting girl.

You push the window up and he tumbles to the ground of the bathroom, somehow remaining inhumanly quiet.

In the process, though, he aggressively knocks a (glass) bottle of perfume off of the counter.

“Shit!” you hiss.

“Are you okay?” someone calls. Maybe Nat? It definitely could’ve been Van.

“Yeah!” you call before turning back to the masked vigilante. “You have 30 seconds to explain yourself.”

Spider-Man holds up a finger, chest heaving, before reaching up under his mask and yanking it off.

It’s not a man at all. It’s Lottie, your best friend who was conveniently missing from tonight’s get-together.

Your jaw drops. “What the f—?”

You don’t get the chance to finish your exclamation as she bolts up to clamp a hand over your mouth. “Shh!”

You frown back at her, trying to convey your emotion with your eyes.

“I’ll explain, I promise,” she assures you. “But I’m hurt. I just got my ass kicked. I need you to help me, but you can’t tell the others.”

You don’t respond. Her hand is still over your mouth.

“Promise me!” she hisses, begging.

You nod frantically, and she slowly removes her hand. “I can’t believe you’re a girl. I was betting major money with Nat that Spider-Man was Jeff Sadecki.”

She narrows her eyes at you. “Jesus Christ. Are you going to help me or not?”

“I can’t do that if you don’t tell me where you’re hurt!”

She swallows, unable to meet your eyes. “Under my suit.”

You sigh at her. “Can you stand?”

“I think so.” She manages to stumble to her feet, and you help her unzip the suit, both of you flushed bright red.

“Don’t tell me you’re embarrassed, Lot,” you tease as she collapses onto the closed toilet. “We’ve changed in front of each other a billion times.”

“These aren’t ideal circumstances,” she groans.

Her wound isn’t too bad, but it probably hurts like a bitch. Sliced across her leg, the cut slowly oozes blood. Her knuckles are scraped up, too. There’s already green-yellow bruises forming around both wounds.

“It’s not awful,” you assure her. “They just need to be cleaned and get bandaged.”

You dig out isopropyl alcohol and a rag before a apologizing for the pain you’re about to cause her.

She whimpers as you clean the gash on her leg and wrap gauze around it, and you have to pray that she doesn’t see the way your face burns.

Someone rattles the door handle. “Are you still in there?”

Laura Lee. With a start, you realize you didn’t lock the door.

You and Lottie lock wide eyes with each other before you’re yanking her up and shoving her into the shower. She shoots a web to seal the curtain to the wall, tucking herself behind it.

The door swings open, and Laura Lee peers around from behind it. “Hey, we were thinking about ordering pizza—is that your blood?”

You look down at your hands, but it’s not yours. It’s Lottie’s, from where you had wiped it from her leg. You need to think of a lie, and quick.

“Oh,” you shrug in a hopefully nonchalant manner. “My nose started bleeding, and I put my hand over it while I got the rag.”

Laura Lee, of course, steps in to investigate. “Did it stop? We should say a prayer.”

You gently swat her prodding hands away. “Yeah, I’m fine. It stopped. I just didn’t get the chance to wash my hands.”

“Really,” Laura Lee insists. “We should say a prayer. This could be a sign of something.”

“Yeah,” you mumble, “of a ruptured blood vessel.”

You indulge in Laura Lee’s plead anyway, and pray that Lottie can resist her urges to laugh during Laura Lee’s prayer like she always does.

Lottie knows she doesn’t have much time.

She carefully slides the suit back on before slipping out of the very window she’d come through. From there, she makes a Pink Panther-esque getaway a few feet away from that window to the one that leads to your bedroom.

She carefully slides the bedroom window shut before flinging open a dresser drawer in hopes for some clean clothes. She digs out a Kean University pullover and plaid pajama pants. It’ll have to do.

She stashes the suit in the spot that she’d swiped the clothes from, and just as she shuts the drawer, she freezes. Someone’s coming.

There’s nowhere to hide. Your bed sits atop a wooden bed frame, meaning she won’t—can’t—fit underneath. Your closet isn’t big enough either. That only leaves…

When Nat swings the door open, she completely expects to find someone in a striped shirt with a sack of money over their shoulder. Something is being very noisy in your room, and she’s intrigued to know what could possibly be causing such a ruckus.

Instead, she finds… nothing.

She checks under your bed, even though nobody besides a small child could fit between the planks of your bed frame. She checks your closet. Hell, she checks the fire escape.

Nothing.

“Hm,” she decides, but there’s something… not right. There’s an itch under her skin that won’t go away.

When Nat leaves, Lottie can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.

She carefully lets herself down from the ceiling with a breath of, “Holy shit,” and a hand pressed to her chest.

There’s still work left to be done, though.

Quietly this time, she swings back out onto the fire escape.

There’s a knock on your front door, and you frown. Everybody’s here, and Misty didn’t say that they had already ordered the pizza, just that they were thinking about it.

You quickly rinse your hands of Lottie’s red blood before following Misty to the door.

Low and behold, the new guest is Lottie fucking Matthews.

You feign surprise at the sight of her. “Hey, I thought you weren’t coming!”

She walks over to you, arms open wide, limping ever so slightly as she engulfs you in a hug. “It’s a long story.”

Through a faux grin, you growl, “Tomorrow, we’re going to get coffee, and you’re going to explain everything.”

“Deal.”

Hmm, so Hector is the White Tiger. I was wondering if that would come up again, or if it was a reference to some comic book thing I don't know about (I guess it still could be). Yeeeeaaaah, Fisk ain't changed at all. That threat to keep the commissioner on board was very low. It makes me sick thinking of someone like him as the mayor of anywhere.

I love that we're getting so much of Matt's lawyer side. I get that that's the point, he's given up the Daredevil suit for now, but yeah. I love watching him arguing legal points ^^'

The final part of this story has only Kitching on the writing credits. It hasn’t taken long for Robotnik to appear to rub the loss of another ally in Sonic’s face

But Sonic knows that Knuckles is his best shot for having someone in his corner to fight back against Robotnik who knows a lot more than most about the Chaos Emeralds, so he once again manages to appeal to Robotnik’s ego to give himself a fighting chance

Knuckles is back in the room! Despite their usual bickering, he instantly seems to grasp the gravity of the situation and follow Sonic when Robotnik gives them a head start

Get Grey Emerald’d, loser!

I can’t remember if they’ve brought this up before or not, but in StC, the Grey Emerald has particular importance over the others as being the Control Emerald. It’s also why, even now with Sonic Frontiers directly referring to it as the White Emerald, I struggle to think of it as anything other than the Grey Emerald - that’s part of me ye olde Sonic heritage from StC, after all

Time to undo all the damage that Robotnik’s done and return the world back to normal

Once again, Robotnik vanishes from the comic. But just like before, we’ll definitely be seeing him back again further down the line But for now, they’ve done a Sonic 06 before Sonic 06 did. No one remembers what’s happened. Well, it’s not exactly like Sonic 06, since Sonic & Knuckles still remember. Sonic’s a bit glum that no one will know about one of his greatest victories. But Knuckles knows, and doesn’t that just make it a special thing between them~? (It's nice of Knuckles to come all the way down to Emerald Hill with Sonic as well, just sayin')

And so, that’s the end of this arc! I like it a lot! It was unfortunately a slow and boring start with the Drakon Empire stuff (I do wonder if that’s why I don’t hear this arc talked about that often?), but the payoff with god-power Robotnik was definitely worth it. We got lots of fun visuals, a brand new angsty AU world for a moment and also a last hurrah for some villains who’d otherwise never appear again. My only wish is that it could’ve been faster getting to the good stuff, but otherwise this is a great arc that I remember fondly

So I've been thinking about Forces and Frontiers and their new "General Knuckles" characterization. Under the cut cause it got longer than I thought it would lol.

First off I'm not a fan of it and it really doesn't make sense for his character to me. He's someone who grew up in isolation, is easily trusting while also being a hot head that hits first asks questions later, none of that screams General of a resistance.

My working theory as to why they did this was they wanted a quick way to get away from himbo Knuckles that Boom had introduced. Cause his character was always presented as smart before with his knowledge of history and archeology just that he lacks the common sense that comes with being around other people and he was ignorant in that way.

In my opinion he should have been presented as the front lines man who's the first and last on the battle field. That way he was still very much in the inner circle of the resistance in Forces but his character isn't just sitting back in war meetings planning but in the middle of every fight. Since previous characterizations of him have never been a "think things through first" kinda guy it just doesn't make sense to me to suddenly make him the "plans guy".

My next thought was to give the General title to Amy. Cause it does kinda make sense. She's usually the character that hangs back since she's not one of the main 3 with that characterization being a left over from her early days of "damseled girl character." But she's also way more charismatic than Knuckles, has been shown to make plans, be detail oriented, and care deeply about other people.

But at the same time she's also characterized as a bit of a hot head and doesn't like to sit back while her friends are potentially in danger. With more recent versions have her liking to be beside them in a fight and is also shown to be one of the more heavy hitters with her hammer now-a-days. Plus her having to send people into a fight and them potentially being hurt (or killed) on her orders, while a good set up for angst and some character development, just didn't sit right with me.

Then it hit me.

There is a character that walks into a room and with few to no words commands respect and other's, even villains, to listen to them at the drop of a hat....it's Vanilla. Sega missed out on bringing her in from the sidelines and doing interesting things with her character in Forces in my opinion. She's been shown multiple times to be able to waltz into a room and immediately take complete control. She's is quickly able to command people and direct them to the best and most efficient course of action in a few of her scenes in the IDW comics.

Heck a lot of main characters have been shown to be a scared of her being angry, one of them being Rouge who's a spy and has literally been a double agent.

Imagine it though in Forces maybe we don't know she's in charge to begin with and it's kept a mystery for most of the game of who's the one leading the charge against Eggman. The main cast just keeps referring to the General in their conversations about their plans but not saying their name. Then after they do the big Sonic rescue and it's time for a big war meeting, boom ! in comes Vanilla who ain't messing around. I can imagine a line from Sonic of "Vanilla!!!?? You're the general!!!" in the scene where she's walks in.

This also leaves room for a few jokes of her flipping from serious leader to "mom of a 6 year old" attitude. Like big serious meeting and she's talking and directing what people will do in a big assault on an Eggman base and then suddenly she just like "oh! and I also brought cookies and juice boxes for all of you while we talk" and then immediately switching back to talking about planting a bomb or something.

And like even with Tails going off on his own and disappearing from them could have been an interesting topic of conflict with all of them. Like Vanilla having to give the order to Amy and Knuckles to not go looking for him cause they don't have the man power all the while Cream could be upset with her for not letting them look for her friend. Or something along these lines.

Idk I just really feel like Sega is sleeping on Vanilla and could do so much more with her. Just with her being a mom and the only consistent cannon friendly adult in the sea of over powered kids with her own kid jumping into the fray cause she's also an overpowered child just has a lot of potential there to me.

Annon-Guy: How were the costumes for Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Vector, Knuckles, Silver, Blaze and Mephiles?

Jester Sonic is Serving Absolute Pomni TADC vibes and I dig it a lot, honestly.

Tails is always cute, but Knight Tails honestly serves his character so much. I know he gets pigeonholed as a coward or a geek a lot now, but Tails' inception was all about that "little brother trying to be the hero he sees in his big brother" energy and his main arc for a while was discovering that he could be the hero on his own, and a knight in shining armor costume sells that so well.

Fortune-teller/Tarot Amy is a nice callback to the retro Amy, and I do enjoy the bohemian style. But I do have to wonder if that's considered a caricature or not or if calling it bohemian at all is outdated or even racist at this point. Regardless, I have always enjoyed that style of flowing layers and bangles.

Drummer Cream seems a little out of left field to me, as does that green glove, but the glam rock aesthetic looks super cute on her and Cheese is absolutely adorable.

Shadow's look reads more to me as Kingdom Hearts or Hot Topic Scene rather than idol, but regardless, he absolutely pulls it off and I think it's one of the best aesthetics on display here.

The Valkyrie look on Rouge is stunning, and while that surcoat/long loincloth piece does have some erotic connotations with the whole fur bikini barbarian attire in a lot of fantasy armor, Rouge's silhouette is no longer a skin-tight latex bust suit, and I like that a lot.

Silver in the Cyber suit is a little on the nose, but styling it like his knight armor does give it pizazz.

Pyromancer Blaze is also a bit on the nose, but the classic purple on purple for her still looks great, and the way they styled that hood to maintain her silhouette is nice.

Treasure Hunter Knuckles is a classic. I'm still not sure why the cowboy hat got associated with the treasure-hunter look because if it's styled after Indiana Jones... Indie wears a Fedora, which is similar but not the same. Regardless, I to think it works just as well but I will forever wonder if that was a deliberate choice or if they got their hats confused when designing the look.

DJ Vector is, again, a little uncreative, but it IS a classic reference and I love that cheeky borderline SUPREME design with the Chaotix hoodie. I'm just never going to get over how the Sonic Characters wear headphones. It's hard enough for human beings to wear headphones but Vector has no external ears, so how do they not keep falling off?

Linebacker Omega doesn't quite make thematic sense, but it makes aesthetic sense. The pauldrons being the big padded shoulders really sell the silhouette and the green is quite a nice alternative to his usual red.

I'm not sure Mephiles screams Oni in the classical sense and reads more like a lich king to me, but it's a fitting style, regardless.

As for the comic dub, while the story was simple and a little childish, it does the plot well, and the voice acting is top tier, along with the use of the Pumpkin Hill Instrumental as a backing track.

Also, this is a very random to bring this up now, I know, but I wonder if anyone has ever made dubs of StC with British accents. I mean, I literally live in the UK and I'm struggling to hear anything other than these character's American voice actors when I read dialouge

When Omni was first introduced he was treated like a god but now a holding cell twarts him lmao

StC hasn't really been subtle at all so far so I'm expecting this guy to turn out to be evil BUT I would love it if this guy was a bit like Mihawk from One Piece where he's just a dramatic goth who's really committed to the aesthetic

Jerkyl and Hyde thing going on, nice, cool to see even the side characters are going along with the horror theme

This panel is pretty funny in it's own right in terms of timing with the previous panel but uhh… choosing to make the laser beams or whatever piss yellow also makes it hilarious in an unintended way

I don't really like the way these comic depict Sonic's quills from the back but I do gotta acknowledge and applaud the effort that went into shading them here.

OHH I really really like how Sonic is drawn in this panel. The perfect mix of cute and badass

I think the joke here might be that Frink is a made-up word because I CANNOT find any definition for it other than a few Urban Dictionary entries that I don't think quite fit

Anyway back to Knuckles. Between now and writing last issue's liveblog it occurred to me that this whole story is reference to The Wicker Man (1973), right down to the inn having the same name. Very interesting choice of reference though, I imagine that film is a bit before the time of the kids who would be reading these comics.

I should probably also mention that while I've read a plot summary, I actually haven't watched Wicker Man myself. I don't really like horror movies but maybe I might give that one a shot sometime.

The Archie comics may have microwaved Knuckles in his egg but it looks like StC is gonna roast him in one!! 👈👈😎

Also I do love how in the following panel the villagers response to this is "lmao do you really think Robotnik gives a shit?"

There were two stories with Tails and Shortfuse. I have no comments for either one.

i do think ken penders gets a lot of hate. definitely isnt a great writer and has written a lot of weird things into archie. and his character writing frankly is not that good. but i still think he gets more hate than he deserves, since every sonic fan on the planet feels an obligation to shit on him. i dont know im not a big fan of some of his work but it feels a little spiteful at times! obviously ken has introduced many characters to the comic, the vast majority of which i really like. obviously bollers and flynn down the line use penders characters really well, but even in his own stories penders fleshes them out and makes them interesting. he does seem to be a genuinely good writer, but only when he cares about what hes writing and not constantly derailing to talk about some original lore or history. reading the knuckles series (and subsequent sonic backups) makes it clear he really does like writing knuckles, and a pretty good one too. its just that he also used it as a vehicle to push every concept hes ever had, even if it doesnt logically or thematically make sense or if its just in poor taste. penders's biggest writing flaw is trying to make everything really mature and emotional on a grand scale, but he doesn't seem to have the writing experience to do that. he basically wants to be the jack kirby of sonic comics (and i think has referred to himself as something similar) but he really isnt nearly as talented as kirby was. his best moments were undoubtedly on the knuckles book though. he did write knuckles and the chaotix well, but other stories on sonic just seemed like he didn't quite care. the backups he did during world tour are notable, but arent particularly good. i never really liked them. helped flesh out the world while sonic was gone which i appreciate, but they're pretty boring and the royal secret service plot is just leading up to a climax in knuckles anyways. keep bollers on sonic and penders on knuckles and things will sail smoothly, but after knuckles got cancelled i think thats when the two writers started butting heads more

i like to ramble about nerdy stuff a lot, so i figure, why not share some of them here?

these are sort of like analysis of things but its not really well written its mostly just me talking for a while

heres the first one

this is about tails doll

first off i wanna talk about what makes the tails doll creepy

the way i see it, there are a couple main elements that have led to the legacy of the tails doll

first, the uncanny appearance, second, the strange behaviour, and third, the lack of acknowledgement

its no secret that tails doll looks weird, and this is the thing ive talked about most in the past. metal sonic and knuckles both have a lot of design elements from their organic counterparts that make them look fairly similar. even small details like knuxs shoes are reflected in the metal version. it all comes together to make these two look just like robot versions of the original characters but tails doll isnt really like that. compared to the other copies in sonic r, it resembles miles a lot less. the general ideas are there - two tails, the general colour scheme, things like that. but thats where it ends, beyond the broad strokes, it doesnt look anything like miles. its nose is too big, its ears are rounded and all white, its shoes are all wrong, being red with a white stripe like sonics instead of half red half white like miles, it doesnt have the whiskers that miles has, its hair is an entirely different style, and the most glaring difference is the eyes, which dont resemble miles in any way at all. not to mention the red thing on its head, which is its most striking difference besides maybe the eyes

as for behaviour, its also got a lot going for it. instead of running or driving or what have you, it just floats around, but unlike how, say, metal sonic flies, the tails doll is seemingly just levitating. but in terms of other behaviour, it doesnt have any. the tails doll is the least expressive character in sonic r. it doesnt blink, it doesnt move any more than just swaying around, i dont even think it has an animation for its float jump. the only time it really does anything different is when it wins a race, and it does its little victory pose. note that this also makes no sense. all the other things that the tails doll does would suggest that its body is just completely limp, which would make sense given how its a stuffed toy, yet here it is moving its body, which goes against how youd think it works.

all of that on its own would make for a character thats a bit offputting but otherwise fine. but what i think ties it all together is that the tails doll has no acknowledgement at all. nothing in the game points out how creepy it is, the closest it ever got to something commenting on that is its picture for its sonic channel profile, which shows it standing with its head tilted in a dimly lit void with relatively harsh lighting, staring almost directly at the camera. certainly more offputting than the other pictures. but other than that, nothing makes reference to how weird the tails doll is, and i think thats what contributed most to its creepiness

the tails doll always feels like its hiding something, that theres something more to it that it never shows. and that feeling that theres something more is absolutely essential for something to be creepy. if you understand something completely, it cant really do more than startle you, but when you dont know anything about what its really capable of, suddenly it gets a lot creepier. basically, the tails doll never plays its full hand. rather, neither it nor the world its in act like theres anything wrong, leaving the only one to be unsettled to be the player, and thats actually why i dont like the tails dolls portrayal in the archie comics.

at first, it keeps the charm of the original, but then it starts doing things, and its leaning very hard into the "creepy" aspect. now, that wouldve been fine, if it didnt then go on to turn into a giant monster. suddenly, what i said about tails doll never playing its full hand no longer applies - now weve seen what its capable of, and thus it loses a lot of its creepy factor. originally, it felt like it could be doing more, but we never knew what that "more" was. now we see what that more is, and it feels like we know everything it can do. why would we be unsettled by the sense that it could be doing more now? as far as we know, theres nothing more it can do past turning into a giant monster. sure, we still dont know how or why, but theres now no reason to believe theres anything more to it, and that goes against the most important part of what made the tails doll creepy in the first place.

put simply, the tails doll was originally creepy because it stayed in the background, it never drew attention to itself. but having it show what its capable of, leaning in to the creepy aspect, ironically made it less creepy than it ever was in sonic r

Bimonthly Media Roundup

- Mario Party (Video Games) - Rented a cabin in Colorado with my friends, and while we of course did some nature seeing we also just chilled at the cabin quite a bit, playing games together. We played both the newest and oldest Mario Party, and man back to back like that the first game was so unforgiving, it's hilarious. If you lost a mini game they would actively take coins from you, the games were not very intuitive (or at least didn't port to the switch right), and the random events were so often completely detrimental to you. Luckily Mari Party has always been a luck based game so in a group setting having awful in game luck is mostly just funny rather than frustrating, a good time to clown on one another.

- The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All (Manga) - Cute quick read about a girl getting a crush on a cute alt music store clerk before realizing that she's a girl. After the funny setup the manga develops into more of a yuri-centric character drama, which is still nice even if the gender-related humor is mostly gone. The art is very pretty, the alt girl is effortlessly charismatic, and all the references to American music are pretty fun to catch. A good read.

- Pokémon Stadium (Video Games) - More vacation shenanigans, We started by playing all the Pokémon Stadium 2 minigames, in which 3 of the 4 of us were evenly matched and 1 of us did hilariously bad. When we moved on to the first Pokémon Stadium mini games however, said person proceeded to annihilate of all us by a comically large margin. Anyway the games were a fun nostalgia trip, faves would have to be the lickitung game and the counting game.

- Glass Onion (Movie) - Another vacation watch, from what I've seen the general consensus is that the first movie is technically better with a more subtle and well executed message and tighter writing while the 2nd is more fun with a brighter pallet, a campier protagonist, and more oddball memorable suspects. It's been a bit since I've seen the first one but that sounds about right to me.

- Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun (Manga) - Yup.

- Sonic 2 (Movie) - Watched this as an Airplane movie, which I think it functions perfectly fine as. Knuckles was cute, I like the overall look of the characters, humor was adequate, and I liked the good vibes. I wouldn't really recommend it to non Sonic fans, but for what it was it was fun.

- Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice (Video Game) - I really liked this game, with the final case and Dhurke in particular being really great additions. The game had it's issues, with the clown case being pretty unmemorable and Nahyuta being the worst prosecutor in the series, but for the most part this was a really solid entry and possibly one of my favorites. The character design and art direction was great, the forward momentum of the plot and new locations really worked for me, and as a whole I felt the writing was a lot tighter and less mean than a lot of the prior entries. I still have the DLC case and possibly Layton crossover games to complete but otherwise I'm finished with the AA series.

- One Piece (Anime) - My Sister and I got pretty far into East Blue so far, I imagine this will be a show we will be watching for a very long time. The central 5 characters all have a fun dynamic, and the animation isn't bad for the time it came out, but boy do they drag things out with flashbacks and filler, which is really not needed given the sheer amount of material they have to work with here.

- Genshin Impact (Video Game) - Been playing a lot of this, mostly through Liyue by now. I'm having a ton of fun with the story, characters, and non combat side quests, though the wishing and level systems kind of blow with how much unnecessary grinding you have to do. On the bright side I met my girl Yanfei, who's lawsuit quest was one of my faves in the game so far for how unique it was.

(Hopefully I spelt that right) but yeah! I’ve been watching marvel since I was a little kid lolol so I’m always down every year to see the new marvel movie!

But yeahhhhh I feel like I was somewhat prepared to see GOTG3 just cause I saw the Rocket floor clip on youtube but damn it still didn’t prepare me to see how horrific,y they were treated 😭 Floor’s design freaked me out the most but she was still so sweetie and it just ARGH ☹️☹️
