Mumbo Jumbo himself, people have been so excited to see him! Yes, yes, you're correct, he's been mention a few times! And actually, upon close reading, the type of hybrid he is...is revealed in the story! Like a scavenger hunt for the words! 😆 But I'll save you from having to comb through it.

He's a bat hybrid! 🦇 This is mentioned in "Butterfly Fall" when Joel is reminiscing, where he's the fifth member of their little middle school friend group who can fly, he'd usually carry Impulse, who isn't a big fan of flying, because Mumbo is the most careful flier of their group!

Being a bat hybrid, he's got wings of course, and his eyes shift colors between gold and red depending on the light...there's also other stuff he can do! A few glamor skills that are specific to his subspecies, but we'll learn more about those when we actually meet him! I promise we will! I have plans for it, I swear! It's just taken me a minute to get there!

For your cozy chatty but non-writing mood: what do you love the most about teaching the age group that you do and what age group could you never teach? Why not?

Good questionnnnnn. What I love most about the age I teach is how much they are under-appreciated by society, which surely sounds awful, but I like lifting them up and empowering them. Their voices deserve to be heard, adults should be listening to these little baby teenagers. They’re thoughtful and intelligent and emotional. They deserve to feel empowered. I like helping them in that way and I like being someone or having that space they don’t get at home, one where they feel comfortable and safe. I like that they’re at this age where they’re about to go to high school and get their permits, this weird limbo age where people aren’t taking them seriously but they are forced into being more mature? I like to be a source of clarity for them.

I could never teach below 8th grade. Ever. They are hellions I never wish to interact with. 😂 I need you to at least have a basic understanding of how to act in a classroom. I ask students to bring their best and mature self forward and it’s…it’s just so hard for the younger ones. And that’s me! I don’t have that much patience I guess.

Thing is...last night I took him out for his birthday at throuple. Some of our friends were there including Roman and I snuck off to get drunk and flirt with Roman AT Q’S BDAY PARTY. And I feel soooo terrible about it

Has it really only been a couple weeks? It feels like it has been longer than that. I can’t explain it Aaron, but something feels right about him. Like, there is something there that I didn’t even feel with the twins father. I know it’s fast, but I just have these feelings that I know I won’t be able to shake anytime soon. Also, he’s too sweet to be a murderer so I’ve ruled that option out. Plus, the world already thinks we’re together, someone shared a photo online of us kissing at the holiday party and paps caught lemon coming into my pent that night

I’m struggling to come up with good ideas for him. I’ve written something for him, and he was telling me about this flower from his native island,  I was thinking about doing research and trying to get him some of those flowers. Is that weird? It’s probably weird.

okay well you can't really fairly compare him to the twins' father. he sucks. for like 2345 different reasons. so that not really a great comparison. the pap photos don't surprise me though. have u talked to him about that? like...ngl getting papped for being alison haynes' life takes a lot of getting used to. even for me, and i already had some exposure with rich kids. what did you write for him???? i wanna hear. i think the song and the flower would suffice as a christmas gift, especially considering he might make something for you too ya know?? the flower thing isnt weird, it's really really thoughtful.

but I didn’t think he was a tool when I dated him. I thought he was the person I’d spend my entire life with. We all know the truth behind him now. But there is just something I feel for Lemon that I need to explore. We talked a little bit about it at the holiday party after he kissed me, but I did text him today about all of it. Because we’re trending on Twitter. I told him I’d make a public statement and shut it down if that is what he wants. But I’m waiting to hear back from him. I really hope it doesn’t scare him off, but I do know we need to talk about it because it is a lot. I haven’t recorded it yet, but I’ll play it for you next time I see you. You think so? I just don’t want to seem weird.

happy sts Quill! how would your characters fare in a superhero/villain setting? also, are there any superheroes/villains that remind you of your ocs?

Ooohhhhhh I like this questionnnnnn~

Going off of the current magic and abilities they have, Dione and Celestine are the only magic-users of my main cast and I think they would fare pretty well! They’d both be anti-heroes or straight up villains instead of heroes, though...

Phoenix would obviously have an ability fire-related. Even if it’s just her extreme knowledge of explosives and fire at work, there. (I dunno how she got access to flamethrowers and whatnot, best just... not to ask. ^^’) And Colin might be a shapeshifter? That’s the main ability of the previous character of mine he’s based off of! Both would definitely be heroes, maybe anti-heroes depending on the circumstances.

As for existing superheroes/villains... I’m not the most well-versed (or... at all?) so I don’t have much to base my reply on, unfortunately. Also beware slight spoilers because. Yeah.

Storm (X-Men) is the clearest reminder for me of Celestine! And I didn’t even know about her when I originally thought up this character so... I was kinda a lil’ bit scared when I saw the similarities because copyright reasons? I dunno, mate. The thief background and the weather related powers both line up, though the personality is vastly different. XD

Beast Boy/Changeling (DC) reminds me of Colin both because of the abilities and the personality? Humour and cheerfulness that covers over a not-so-happy past.

Let’s just say Circe (DC) for Dione because of the whole... kinda evil sorceress who turns people into animals and is immortal thing. It’s also based on Greek mythology so! Yeah! I know very little about Circe but there’s apparently a lot of similarities there, I dunno.

I mean we could always say someone with fire powers reminds me of Phoenix? But I don’t really have anyone I can think of off the top of my head that reminds me of her, especially not personality wise. Hm!

well i don't have any writing friends outside of writeblr LOL, but they've made me cry a few times.

tbh, i always cry at my emotional scenes LMAO. it's kind of lame, but i have a huge attachment to my characters, just as i do with other fiction. i have a bunch of emotional scenes in Project: Easton that have made me cry while rereading :3

if it helps, my amazing friend who helps me with Project: Easton always tells me i'm a sadist. i'm not, but i'll take it as a compliment hehe

Idk if you’ve ever said this but why cant Cora divorce Marcus and just leave with her family

Ahhh this is such a good questionnnnnn, so here’s how it’s going in the Nicholson household: 

Cora never really realized how violent Marcus can get when angry. And a small part of her always hoped that he would see reason about this, especially since it’s his daughter. I think she always believed that behind all his righteous facade that he really loved his family more than the church...which we can now see is totally not true.

At this point, Cora is seriously considering divorce. But she’s not being hasty about it, she’s looking at it from every direction and taking into consideration how it will affect her and Atticus. She wants what’s best for all of her kids, and it won’t be easy for Atticus to have divorced parents. However, she is definitely leaning towards a divorce. 

She’s also finding connections, you know people who can help her and Atticus once she lets the cat out of the bag. Because we know that Marcus is definitely not gonna help with it at all, so she needs some friends and she’s found a few but she wants to be super prepared before jumping into this.

By sending Rory to Raina Cora knows that eventually she can get back into touch with her daughter and maybe return to each other once everything is done and settled...so that’s kind of where poor Cora is. And since there was no time for a divorce before Rory was kicked out, Cora just made the best decision at the time, but she definitely wants to be back with Rory as soon as possible that’s definitely pushing her decisions towards a divorce so she can leave Marcus and be happy with both of her babies.

I really hope that answered your question, nonny! Also don’t forget that while I do have quite a bit of creative liberty with Rory’s story at this point, there are still checkpoints that I have to meet because Rory is @all-harlows-eve ‘s and the story line in her legacy is something that I have to match. Ex. Rory being kicked out and leaving, allowing her to find a public college where she could meet Lucas and eventually Winter and help her with her own inner demons.

thanks! hm I believe in resolutions as far as setting intentions for yourself, not necessarily a checklist. this year, i just want to focus on the next step. next step in my career, next step toward my desired living situation, next step to achieve my creative goals. i definitely want/need to create more i feel. and i also want to be more involved with activism and my community. jesus there’s too much to do. it overwhelms me.
