Kanaloa: Elucea, you need this. Please go -
Elucea: Kan I -
Kanaloa: *placing a finger against her lips* Shh let me finish please. You need to go. Enjoy yourself, have some fun, just don't worry about anything just for a night.
Elucea: But Kan . . . You won't be able to handle the four of them on your own. I just, I can't!
Kanaloa: You do it, why can't I? Only difference between the two of us is I'm willing to accept help. I already hired a nanny for the night and asked Tera to come by. You need this. Abs needs this. Please. Go get ready and go enjoy yourself. I won't accept no on this so save any other rebuttals and get your ass to your closet and get dressed to go out.
Elucea: Fine. Guess I'm out numbered.
Kanaloa: Yep. Give me my goodbye kiss now so I can get the school in their highchairs and can start the feedings.

Damn I can't believe Sam Deats read my journal and made Castlevania Nocturne specifically for me with everything I could have wanted from a Rondo/Symphony story but like
Oh my GOD??????????
Olrox getting main billing after being my favorite one-off villain with one (1) boss fight with no build-up and never reappearing, they were really like "yeah let's make him the hottest motherfucker in the world and make him even cooler while we're at it"
Richter and Maria's character designs are 😘👌 perfection! I loved how Maria had her classic hairdo with her nightgown too and watching Richter put the bandana on for the first time with goddamn "Divine Bloodlines" playing like????
And Richter doing the Grand Cross??? And his flame whip????? The 1000 blades technique against the marquis?????? Maria using so many of her animal friends and caring so much about each of them sweet child oh my goodness
Not to mention the way I screamed louder for Juste than Alucard bc let's be real baby vampire boy was always going to come back but I had NO faith that they would even look at my boy JB and especially Maxim?? Even in passing I'm so touched holy shit. And I see that red coat on the foot of his bed, I know my angry grandpa's coming back 👀👀
But speaking of Alucard I adore this redesign, the little cravat telling me they're at least trying to give him his Symphony look instead of the t-shirt in the last show is a nice touch but that porcelain doll look is killer and I'm all here for it 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Also everything about Annette oh my lord?? Giving her anything besides just being a damsel in distress like before but everything about her backstory had me on the edge of my seat and I LOVED watching her trap the plantation owner in a cage before the end
Loved getting to see Countess Bathory since we're never getting a Bloodlines anime, the succubus who took me way too long to realize she wasn't just a unique vampire like I had every clue thrown in my face from the fit to the nails and she even admitted to haunting men's dreams and I didn't figure it out til the second she grew wings 😭 glad Alucard still got to finish her off but I'm sad we probably won't get that scene with Lisa again (which probably wouldn't happen since Drac isn't back anyway so there wouldn't be much point)
Can I just talk about Olrox some more bc like??? This guy had NOTHING before the show, he was a fuckin Nosferatu reference and now they gave him all this history, they kept all of his abilities and the dragon transformation?? Plus the beautiful purple and gold suit and those piercing green eyes I love one (1) man and its this fucker I need WAY more of him next time around 👀👀👀👀👀
And yes absolutely I'm excited for next time, we're picking up right where Rondo starts, Father Abbott as a stand-in for Shaft and Tera immediately being turned, the city about to burn like? Are we gonna see Death again?? Do we get to watch Richter fight the Behemoth next season? Is Abbott going to totally lose his mind and bring back Dracula to stop Bathory? Since Alucard is here from the start and not after a time skip do we get to see the Inverted Castle? We already got so much that I would have called a million to one chance but anything's possible now we are SO back baybeeeee
#i like this series a lot and i'm really excited for more of the show 🥺#Castlevania#castlevania nocturne#castlevania netflix#Castlevania nocturne spoilers#richter belmont#maria renard#alucard#juste belmont#olrox

I'm a little bit worried about my pidove, Tera.
She's not the sharpest tool in the shed but I love her very much.
I noticed she's been acting like she wants to build her own little nest so I've been leaving her various items I read were good and safe for her to make her own nest with but she's not very good at it...
She thinks a couple of twigs on a shelf is good enough when I have a literal faux tree that I got just for her to nest in, the branches are the perfect shape and thickness for her nest and it even has a hollowed portion in the center for if she decides she wants to nest in there but no! Next to my books is the best place apparently.
She recently had a check up too so I know she's not sick or anything. I just don't know what to make of her behavior...
well, there's a couple of reasons for this! first, tera isn't using the tree nest because pidove are not tree nesters. they are natural rock nesters, and their feet are not designed to curve around tree branches. instead, they nest on flat surfaces- such as a shelf! they often don't build particularly big nests, because they just need enough nesting material to keep the eggs from rolling off and to provide some cushioning.
next, tera is a female! male pidove do most of the nest material collection, which they then give to the female to build the nest as she pleases. tera won't build much of a nest without a male to bring her supplies.
finally, keep in mind that by keeping a lone pidove, you have essentially become her mate in her eyes. she's not going to want to nest away from you in an area you don't go to. the fact that she's nesting at all actually indicates that she's experiencing hormonal changes pertaining to egglaying. she may well lay an unfertilized egg or two soon. keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get eggbound, and be prepared for her to try and sit on them constantly since she doesn't have a male taking his turn. it would be worth a center check if she doesn't lay in the next week or so to see if she's got eggs forming!

How did you get hyperfixated on your four favorite Pokémon each? What's the story on how you like them so much?
For Cinderace, Arboliva, Blaziken and Leavanny, it's basically the same story:
I see them in either promo art or later in their premiere games themselves (I usually go into these games blind so I can be surprised)
Sometimes it's not until after watching them in the anime when I'll develop a hyperfixation for them. This was the case for Arboliva. I didn't really think much of his species aside from how useful he is in Tera Raids with is Seed Sower ability and that I loved when one showed up. Then I saw that specific Arboliva in the anime; the explanation for him is later in this post
I obtain these Pokémon if I'm able to. For example, in "Violet", I had to wait until Cinderace and Blaziken became available in Tera Raids. I also recently bought the SV DLC and was very excited upon seeing Sewaddle, which meant that I could then get Leavanny, who is unavailable in the main game
I name them (often after other favorite characters) and give them their own personalities based on their Natures. Though I forgot what my Arboliva's was and made him entirely different than what his in-game Nature is, lol
I sometimes make up little stories about them and my Pokésona and draw them, which makes me feel a better connection with them
I suppose the reason why I get hyperfixated on specific characters depends on how they are shown interacting with other characters and what their personalities are like and/or how well their design appeals to me.
Cinderace, Arboliva, Leavanny and Blaziken have all shown some level of protectiveness towards their trainers and/or friends, which is a trait I really love, especially when its paternal protectiveness or the "Papa Wolf" trait, as I've called it many times. Leavanny is especially known for being so nurturing and parental and won't hesitate to cut up any threat to his loved ones!
The majority of my Pokémon are male (and I often refer to these 4 as such), with a few exceptions like a couple female-only species such as Hatterene and Tsareena, so I tend to put that trait on a lot of them.
Of course other Pokémon have also shown this kind of behavior, as most are naturally protective towards ones they love and care about.
There's just something extra about these four that I just gravitated towards. I can't really pinpoint it.
Also, the specific Arboliva in the above GIF is a gentle giant, which is another favorite trait of mine! He's far larger (for whatever reason, probably because he's over a century old) than what his species typically are! He's why I adore the species so much now, even after seeing them in the game many times.

A couple months ago now I was fortunate enough to buy a used switch lite from my friend, and even luckier to obtain a copy of Pokemon Scarlet at the local pawn shop at a very reduced price (plus a couple other things but that's not the point rn). So, we go right from the earliest generation of pokemon to the newest back to back, with possibly just as many bugs and glitches, to my gen 9 team!
Team stats and general gameplay info under the cut:
"Nila", Meowscarada, ♀, U-Turn - Play Rough - Flower Trick - Night Slash
"Quaord", Clodsire, ♂, Poison Jab - Earthquake - Liquidation - Megahorn
"Guache", Grafaiai, ♂, Slash - Knock Off - Poison Jab - U-Turn
"Stella", Luxray☆, ♀, Volt Switch - Spark - Crunch - Ice Fang
"Étoile", Pyroar☆, ♀, Flamethrower - Hyper Voice - Swift - Crunch
"Pharle", Farigiraf, ♂, Crunch - Shadow Ball - Twin Beam - Tera Blast
General Playthrough Notes:
Okay look I need to level with you all right off the bat, I don't like the vast majority of the pokemon introduced in gen 9. They feel like such first drafts to me. I normally go into these games with a team plan but this time I literally had two slots missing going in, I just could not think of what to put in there. And I already planned on using two poison-types and two normal-types! Normally I avoid doubling up on types as much as possible! After a bit I used the codes to get a bug-tera mew and a cetitan and was just thinking "I guess they'll be mainstays??"... then I immediately ran into a shiny shinx. Then a shiny litleo. They happened to slot right into the team and I've never been fortunate enough to use shinies in a playthrough (except my soulsilver randomized apocalocke but shhhhh we aren't there yet), so I put them on. But if they hadn't shown up and essentially saved my ass I would have been hard pressed to fill up a team of six (look I literally just used a mew I'm not in a hurry to use it again, at least it's been a couple years since I used luxray in a playthrough).
Anyways, despite all that, I had fun! I knew going in it wouldn't be too difficult and would have its lion's share of glitches, so I was just along for the ride. I like the friend group you form in this game! I like vibing with koraidon as an honorary team member! It's just a pleasant time.
Back to shinies for a moment, overworld shinies without any sound effects to indicate them is evil. I spent so much time staring at groups of pokemon trying to tell if one of them was off-palette. Thankfully, I never ran into any shinies other than the ones I caught.
The raids are neat, though since I don't have Nintendo Online and no frequent enough local players it isn't super interesting with just the npcs. Caught a few neat fellas though, including a steel-tera breloom and a fighting-tera azumarill.
Speaking of, when I first started playing those mewtwo raids were going on and I wanted to participate in them so bad. I barely missed my window, though from what I've heard I wouldn't have stood much of a chance anyway, haha.
I wish there was more post-game other than the raids. I've redone the tournament like half a dozen times now; I wish there was a battle frontier or something. To be fair, I haven't caught all those ruin legends yet; though the one I have caught I managed to get in the first ball, lol.
Do I have the dlc yet? No! I can't just throw around that kind of money willy-nilly. Maybe someday though.
Picnics are really cute though I wish I could pet my pokemon instead of just wash them. Also why can't I sit down on the chairs that are set up around the picnic table??? Still don't really get the sandwich hype, I might mess around with it a bit though, I want to give it a fair shot.
"Hey Nel, why haven't you talked about the Elite Four? You usually start these notes with them?" The E4 is very unremarkable, sorry. I won't bore you by being the billionth person to rag on how Geeta is objectively the worst champion. Also when I rematched all the gym leaders I didn't have to terastilize or heal my pokemon. They were a bit more impressive the first time around tbh. The gym puzzles were neat though!! Except for Tulip's. Fuck her.
Oh yeah, terastilizing is a thing. Mega evolution is still better.
I wanna hang out with my friiiieeeennnds more, both my irl friends and Nemona, Penny, and Arven. It would be so fun to do raids with them or something like that.
Cold take but the uniforms suck I wanna customize my outfit like Nemona, Penny, Arven and Team Star do
(Normally this is where I'd show a screenshot of me finishing the game, but I'm one of the few weirdos who can't use captchas and haven't found another way to transfer files from my switch to other devices. Have a picture of my cat instead; his name is Prince.)

Assorted Thoughts
A collection of small thoughts that I have but don't feel like making a separate blog post for.
Saw the new title: The Three Explorers. I'm hyper than I've ever been. This is what I've been waiting for. But it got me to wondering, are the original Explorers just the trio from the intro?
Kleavor is kinda small for a member of the Six Heroes isn't he?
I've always seen Amethio and Sidian as a duo like a prince and a knight (metaphorically of course). And usually I see it as Amethio as the prince-like one seeking his own path beyond the "crown" and Sidain as the knight with nobody to protect. But what if I'm wrong and its more like Amethio as the knight wanting to do more than serve and Sidian as the prince trying to earn his title. They both seem equally accurate and likely. I swear that one shot from episode 57 awoke something in my brain.
Chalce eludes me as I don't know much about her and she won't tell me anything. From what I do know, she thinks blood ties are messy and some secrets should remain hidden, which I've said before makes it sound like she has a secret child or something. Doesn't help that everyone, even Spinel, refers to her as Miss. Maybe she's older than I first thought...
Coral also eludes me sometimes. Sure, I know her character pretty darn well, she gives us plenty to work with. But I've never been able to grasp a solid backstory for her beyond overbearing family with one too many rules. Maybe that's all there is too it but it feels like there should be more. Also, all of the other admins have more than one partner so I wonder if she has more in the back or she's sticking with just Glalie.
Will the main trio every acquire more Pokémon? The show seems pretty comfortable with them each having two (Liko has three I guess if you count Terapagos). I mean I guess I'm okay with that but a part of me is oh so curious about what else they could have. Also, will they ever Tera their other Pokémon? They need some love too!
Could have sworn by now they would have done something with Lucca. I had this gut feeling when she first showed up that she was going to be important but maybe I'm wrong. She just seemed so vague / cryptic when she spoke...

Tbh I feel like everything could have been fine if there was a little bit more care into it I'm not French and I don't much about the revolution so i can't say anything about the it but I'm black so I can empathize with Annette a little more I think the Idea behind her is interesting.
Oh boyyyyyyyy okay I finished watching the show so now I can rant.
We pretty much agree. The idea behind Annette is not the problem I have with her (well, except for the fact that they felt the need to give her powers when it would've been much more meaningful and impactful to me if she hadn't had any). The problem is the show uses her to emphasize how much SLAVERY IS BAD AND EVIL (as if we don't already know that) but to the point of straight-up insulting everyone else.
First off, there's this dialogue from Annette, talking to Richter and Maria: "You're not cowards. You're just children with no experience of the world. No experience of the hard choices adults have to make." Basically, Annette is saying she knows more than them because SHE SUFFERED MORE. Maria and Richter don't know pain! They were never slaves! And everyone knows only black people and slaves knows what the world is REALLY LIKE and what TRUE PAIN IS. It infuriated me so much, and it was only the beginning.
When Richter ran away from Olrox (because that's the vampire who killed his mother in front of him and traumatised him as a CHILD, Tera told her that, his panic attack was understandable), Annette had a whole monologue about how being a slave is terrifying, about how they know the cost of freedom, about how she wouldn't run away (even though she literally ran away from her ex-owner). Later on, she will say about Richter that he was "useless as fuck". I get it, she's mad, but the fact she had to make it about her and her problems like Richter did not have as much as her is still a bitch move.
In another scene, she uses magic to talk to her teacher, and at first, it was fine. When Annette complained that Richter ran away, the woman gave her a piece of her own medicine by telling her "Everyone starts by running away, Annette.", hintingat her running away from her slave owner, and Annette goes "It's completely different, how can you even compare that!" even though SHE is the one who compared her story to Richter's to begin with to invalidate his feelings and make him look like a jerk. But then, the teacher says:
"Even these french with their high ideas, what do they know about we've suffered? And what do they care? They're building new world, but it won't be freedom, or equality or brotherhood for US"
I will talk about this more in details in another post, because the problem I have with it don't concern Annette directly. I just wanna say that there is big problems with this and that Annette did not contradict her, she did not try to say she was wrong, she took it as the truth. And that bothers me. In a earlier scene, in episode 3, the teacher also shat on the french revolution and "the whites" because it would not help THEM, so I should've expected it, really. Also Annette, just like everyone else at that moment, applauded this woman.
In the end it's a matter of the show drilling into our heads that Annette is so oppressed and SLAVERY BAD left and right that made me dislike her (that and the bitchy attitude she sometimes has for no reason). The writers does not know how to handle such a heavy topic and it shows (especially a heavy topic from another country :)). You know you fucked up when you can't talk about X people suffering without shitting on the suffering of others.
I don't know about her religion so I can't tell wich problems there is, if any, but I wouldn't be surprised if the writers messed that up too.
Good for you and everyone else who likes her, for any reason. You do you. I personnally can't stand her. She's not all bad (she was fine during the first episodes), but the show ruined her for me, I'm afraid. :/ I just can't look at her without thinking that the writers used her as a tool to defend that black people suffered more than anyone else (and it infuriates me even more when I remember that she used to be a white woman who's only crime was that she couldn't fight. i really wish everyone would stop turn the "weak" women into girlbosses who fights and make them actually strong in ways other than physical. and the fact they made her black just so they could tackle racism and slavery leaves a sour taste in my mouth). And shit a bit on the french revolution while they were at it. So yeah, just like you said. Could have been fine with a little bit more care put into it.
#castlevania nocturne#anti netflixvania#sorry to the fans#i really wanted to like her#i did like her at first#they just had to overdo it.#i don't really feel the chemistry between Annette and Richter either

[Another video, clearly taken by someone else than Ferro. Lizard is facing the Koraidon, Ferro in Miraidon Forme next to her. They nod at each other, before glowing. Electricity races over the ground as they both adopt battle formes, and roar at the opposing Koraidon. Sunlight follows the racing electricity, makes both of the Koraidon perk up.
"Ferro!" Giacomo shouts, making the purple dragon type turn. "Use that real powerful electric move you got! Lizard's got to have something like that too, right?" The two nod, before looking at the larger Dragon. Energy coils around both as they rear up and crash into the bigger mon. Cheering rings out, loud and raucous. Something else coils and curls, an energy that seems invigorating. More attacks follow, including a far too vicious one from the Koraidon that leaves both Lizard and Ferro gasping for air.
"Hey! Giacomo!" Nemona calls out. "Throw that orb over to Ferro! I can use mine too! They're both glowing!" She grins as she gestures to Ferro's Tera Orb. "Let's terastalize these two! Ferro's hearing aids can't get any worse, and they need all the boost they can get."
"Gotcha, Prez." The former student council president nods. "Everyone, cheer for them! Let's show that lunkhead what-for!" He and Nemona rear up, then throw the spheres. Glowing crystals envelop the combatants, brilliant Dragon and Steel jewels on their heads. Loud cheers follow.
"SHOW 'EM YOU WON'T BE PUSHED AROUND! USE THE TERASTALIZATION AND GET SOME SUPER-EFFECTIVE HITS IN!" Penny yells, surprisingly loud. Answering and responding cheers follow as Ferro and Lizard rear up again. Energy crackles around them as they charge their respective attacks. A Tera Blast from Lizard, and a Dragon Breath from Ferro. The Koraidon flinches back, then slumps. Up above, the Tera crystals on the AI shatter.
"YOU DID IT!" Raucous cheers sound out. Ten pairs of eyes eventually look up at the AI, who is laughing brokely in relief.
"How very astounding," it cries. "To think that you would manage to defy even the original professor's final protections! And so extraordinarily too..."
"Are you back to normal?" Arven asks, eyes fixed on the twitching form.
"Yes... A completely unforseen outcome, even for an AI possessing the most sophisticated technology ever conceived. Even on the brink of despair, you children did not give in and instead proved your worthiness: Showing the wisdom to think for yourselves, the courage to hold faith in your friends, and the fortitude to do what had to be done."
The camera twitches, and shows Ortega, revealing his phone as the one that filmed. "This... might get too personal. Ferro will write later. See you, rotomblr. He grins for a moment, before the recording ends.]

Mari's Surprisingly Early Tera Raid Guide #uhhhlemmecheck6 - Hisuian Typhlosion
Heeeeeey people sorry for the radio silence I've been busy trying to solo the Mewtwo raid (failed)(fuck Nintendo) and then I skipped the Hisuian Decidueye post too because I downloaded the data like in the last 5 minutes, I figured it would be too late to make a guide. Maybe if they run it again.
Anyway! Post-Mewtwo raids all seem too easy. Vaporeon time! (But let me tell you I was considering many many more options that I think would be viable, will reblog if I find the spoons to try something else)
[Beware: I edited the post after some more tries, I found a simpler and faster strategy] Usual reminder that the pokémon I used for this guide is available to borrow for free to anyone who asks (Pokémon Home needed - both on Switch and mobile)
Vaporeon lv.100 Tera type: Water Ability: Hydration (hidden) Item: Shell Bell Nature: Modest (/Quiet/Mild in a pinch) IVs: max in HP, sp.atk., sp.def. EVs: 252 sp.atk., 252 sp.def., 4 HP
Moveset: -Surf (TM) -Rain Dance (TM) -Calm Mind (TM) -Wish (egg move) (I ended up only using two healing cheers instead, but might as well have a full moveset)
Usage:
So, the nice thing about H. Typhlosion is that he doesn't mess with stats. He still wipes stat modifications on both sides, but only once, and can't boost his own stats nor drop yours. The Sunny Day + Will-O-Wisp + Flamethrower + Infernal Parade (x2 damage when you have a status condition) looks scary, but it's all special damage that can be heavily mitigated with some simple boosts on your part. Noice
Oh, I should mention that serebii.net has started listing all the scripted actions of event raid mons, so give it a look! Extremely useful!
Anyway, back to our raid. What we have to look out for is Sunny Day - luckily for us it's a scripted move, it will happen at 95% of the time bar (so ~turn 2) and once more at 40% of the time bar. We want to keep the rain on as long as possible, because it activates Vaporeon's ability (Typhlosion's AI seems to prioritize keeping you burnt, and rain + Hydration neutralizes it) AND completely flips the power balance in our favor, BUT since the first Sunny Day will not be in the first turn, it's actually better to open with a Calm Mind and wait for the sun to go up before our first Rain Dance. Just so we don't waste two turns in a row playing with the weather, you know.
Once it's raining we're basically safe - the only move that's still worrisome is Focus Blast, and only because it can lower your sp.def. but it won't happen too often. THUS don't bother getting your special stats up to the max, I find that the single one from the opening is enough. Get your 4 Surfs in (for the tera orb, counting one more because Typhlosion steals your charge once). Less special attack on the Vaporeon is actually helpful here: you deal enough damage to recover reliably with Shell Bell, and not enough to trigger the shield until ~3 Surfs are done. You can reapply Rain Dance if the rain stops much sooner than the 40% time threshold, but it's not heavily needed, depends on how lucky you've been until now. Just keep an eye open for the scripted player-side stat reset (drop everything and do 1-3 more Calm Mind, heal when you need to either with Wish-Heal Up or from using Surf if you're already terastallized) and the second Sunny Day (drop everything and reapply rain). When you are ready and terastallized and with more than half HP, start spamming Surf and don't look back.
TL;DR: Calm Mind x1, Rain Dance right after his Sunny Day, Surf (x4 or more) and heal (Wish or Heal Up cheer as needed), terastallize when possible, Rain Dance after 2nd Sunny Day, Calm Mind x3 (+ healing as needed) after Vaporeon's stats are reset, Surf until KO.
OTHER OPTIONS:
Wish is a fancy move but not so easy to use, and you can use the healing cheer just as effectively (in this battle). Instead of Wish, one could use Fake Tears (TM) to harshly drop Typhlosion's sp.def. but, since it doesn't work when he's shielded, it must be done after Typhlosion's negative stat wipe (85% time) and before the shield goes up (either 70% time or 60% time remaining, whichever comes first). That is the time you'd use Surf to charge the tera orb in the strategy above, so this means that you're delaying the terastallization (and counting exclusively on cheers to heal) in exchange for more attack power. It's very likely that you will deal so much damage, after 3 Fake Tears, that you won't even need to terastallize, but you have to pay more attention to your health.
Pros: -no DLC no transfer no trading required -great special bulk -also enough special attack to never need a full boost to any stat Cons: -the fact that it requires both the HA and a tera type that's not one of the native types of the first evo stage (Eevee) means that (unless you got very lucky with tera dens) you either have to use an Ability Patch or 50 water tera shards (I'd choose the shards, annoying to farm but less rare)
Afterword (feel free to skip): this one was really easy. I think there's a lot of space for playing around with other pokémon. I went with Vaporeon because it was one of the more common ones and I gave priority to those that can be found in the base game, but it's not the only one, and I think I can give some suggestions :) The biggest threat is - unusually - Will-O-Wisp, because it makes the ghost type STAB move twice as strong and you can't even bring a normal type for this fight (unless you like being Focus Blasted in the face). And yeah of course you don't want anything weak to fire in general... Water types look good. As long as you have rain and the means to boost both your special defense (or drop enemy's special attack) and boost your attack/special attack (or drop enemy's defense/special defense), you're basically done. Physical attackers also need some burn protection, be it from Water Veil or Hydration; special attackers appreciate it but if they have enough special bulk and can withstand the stronger Infernal Parade they can even do without. I wouldn't try Misty Terrain on them though, you already have another field thing that lasts 5 turns to keep track of (rain). (Best bets imo: Whiscash, but maaaaybe if you're lucky you can get away with Dondozo, Tatsugiri, Basculegion(F), Clawitzer, Lumineon, Milotic...? Gastrodon? probably the legendaries too) Fire types look good on paper but you need to terastallize them to another type if you want to break the shield. I suggest tera ground, and Flash Fire as the ability. But whatever you use here probably has no good ground-type move and needs Tera Blast which is... mid. (If I had to take a guess, I'd say the ones with a chance would be Rapidash-Ninetails-Flareon-Arcanine(Kanto), and maaaaaybe Armarouge-Ceruledge-Typhlosion(Johto)) Guts may be an option? But idk, all mons with that ability look like poor counters... Dachsbun's Well-Baked Body also looks fun (throwback to that time I used it against Johtonian Typhlosion! It would be so funny if it worked LOL but it would need yet another tera type change, fairy on fire is eh) Misty Terrain... I was this close to transfer a Galarian Weezing with its HA but then I gave up because, as I said, priority to easily obtainable pokemon. Not everyone has swsh. Other Misty Terrain users don't look too promising because they're almost all fairy types and again, probably gotta change tera type unless you can power through the shield without super effective moves, ahah Magic Bounce has a similar problem. All available pokemon with it are psychic types and thus weak to ghost. I guess maybe Hatterene if you give her looooots and lots of special defense? Walking Wake looks interesting, but I can't see anything in its arsenal to raise its special attack or lower the enemy's special defense... might still make it, who knows
#pkmn#pokemon#pokemon sv#tera raids#guides#gen 9#sv#typhlosion#hisuian typhlosion#typhlosion hisui#with the reviewed strategy I won more or less with the same remaining time but only bc of a lot of bad luck#focus blast kept critting and I had to heal too often TvT which was still just twice#I forgot to teach him wish so I went into battle and won with 3 moves

I had this idea for the Sonic/ Pokemon crossover that the Chaos Emeralds will try to sync with the Mega Stone, Z-Crystals, and Dynamax Band and maybe the Tera Orb to give it energy to evolve the strange crystals futher.
I already have an idea for the Z-Crystals, when the Chaos Emeralds power up the Z-Crystals and Trainer has a strong friendship with each of the Sonic Characters, each one will get a special Z-Move that only a character like Sonic or Amy can use.
I imagine when the Sonic gang finds this out theu all will be super pumped to find what there signature Z-Move is
Also Shadow being grumpy because he really wants a Z-Move of his own, but won't stop being edgey and be friends with Trainer
Trainer just unconsciously getting blessed by the Emeralds. A task made slightly easier as their heart forms powerful bonds with the Sonic cast. Chaos is enriched by the heart after all.
Shadow just in the corner because he refuses to be friendly with a child. And Trainer is being chill about the whole thing. If Shadow wants to be friends then its his choice in the end.
Trainer is fine with civility and helping out if needed. Although my brain makes me think it's personal trauma that holds Shadow back. Trainer reminds him so much of Maria in how similar they act especially their friendship with Mewtwo.
He has a constant nagging fear that if he befriends them then the past would repeat itself. Shadow rather keep a healthy distance.

Weird AU idea
Currently I have been watching a lot of Rick & Morty, and with my obsession with Pokemon SV and the AUs that I have seen here…. I came up with this.
Cass10p31a.01
A Penny from an universe where Team Star became so powerful to the point of becoming a citadel all over Paldea. There are no traces of Arven, Florian, Juliana, Nemona, the Elite 4 (She get rid of them), not even the other Team Star bosses. As you see in the image, the “Andromeda City” works with terastal energy, which is extracted from the Great Crater of Paldea and Terapagos. Unfortunately, the terastal energy of both will run out at some point, so Penny had no choice than travel to other universes to get new terastal energy, that being Terapagos, the usual in Galar ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Personality and Behavior
This Penny is more “sociable”, at least can talk to people without any problem. She has a calm and direct attitude when talking to others, she usually only talks to others to ask for favors, although when you bother her she becomes colder and more serious, and if she doesn't get what she wants from you, she will just leave (She won't give up so easily, she doesn’t stop until she get what she wants). She is more expressive when online or under her alias of Cassiopeia, or in this case, Cass10p31a.01.
If you are not a threat, she will not do anything to you, it is not convenient for her, she would only look for you if you are useful for her objectives, but if you are a threat, she will avoid you or try to get rid of you from the shadows. That if she is not in her universe, otherwise, if you are a threat she will just use the Terablaster.
Gadgets
Cass10p31a.01 has an artifact that looks like a watch, which is what helps her travel to other universes, it also can teleport (but only within a 2 meter range), create a force field and change her appearance to someone else (Usually other Pennys). The watch works the same as a Tera Orb, it needs to be recharged after use, each of its functions has a different number of uses before needing to recharge (1 universe travel and change appearance, 3 teleport and 5 minutes of force field).
She has a chip on her neck that helps her imitate other people's voices. She also has another chip in her glasses that connects to her watch to be able to locate the place where she wants to teleport, it also helps locate people with trackers (Yes, she also has trackers) and obtain data of technology, objects, pokemon and people. Needless to say, she retains her programming and hacking abilities, even better than the original Penny, she has more years of experience.
This is not a gadget, but it is something that she uses a lot in the city, the Terablaster. The Terablaster is a massive weapon that Cass10p31a.01 uses on criminals and people she considers threats. This weapon fires a powerful beam similar to the move that inspires the name of the weapon, this beam turns everything it touches into Tera Shards, needless to say, you don't survive that.....
Fun Facts
-She still has her Eevee backpack, it's a little old and torn, seeing it makes her nostalgic.
-She has the 8 eeveelutions but, except Sylveon, she never uses them to battle, they are just her pets.
-The affection she has for her Sylveon is comparable to that of a trainer with his starter, that's why it’s the only Veevee she uses in battles.
-She took Geeta's place, so in addition to being the ruler of Paldea, she is the president of the new Pokemon League, the Andromeda League.
-Eri is the only Team Star boss who shows a trace in this universe, being a member of the Andromeda League. She is the only person who has a friendship with Cass10p31a.01.
-She is online under the pseudonym VeeVeeFan.01 to go unnoticed.
-She is envious of some Pennys because they have a normal and happy life with friends, while she is alone in the Andromeda City. And those that don't? She gives them a little help from the shadows ;)
-She would like to start from scratch, completely move away from Andromeda City and Team Star, start a new life in another region or universe, but she knows it's too late for that… or not?
(And we finished, I'm surprised how long this took me to do, I guess it was because of school and personal stuff :/ Anyway, if this is successful, maybe I'll make a story or those Q&A accounts I see on Tumblr with her, idk it also depends if I'm inspired to do that (Spoiler: I am :3)).
Anyway, I hope you liked this and…
✨Hasta la vistar!✨

I won't say it doesn't make sense that people are frustrated with Focus Blast, and I wouldn't mind it being slightly more accurate or a couple more Pokemon getting Aura Sphere. That being said, I think it being as is also makes sense from a lore perspective.
Fighting as a type has always been associated with physical attacks, even after the physical/special split. This is likely because unlike Fire, which has gotten a couple more physical options, or Ghost, which is now more of a special type than physical type, there's not really a lot about the Fighting type that translates to special attacks. It makes sense that Focus Blast is thus the only specially oriented fighting type move that most Pokemon get: it's not really something that is typically possible to do to begin with, so there's a good chance that many Pokemon who are not even a Fighting type can figure out how to use its energy in a special attacking way reliably.
Lucario can use Aura Sphere because reading and using aura is its entire thing, so that makes sense. Gengar or Reuniclus may be full of power, possibly even Fighting type power, but they lack the synergy with aura that Lucario has, so they cannot use Aura Sphere, and imo that is how it should be. Focus Blast is their attempt at using special attacking Fighting energy: quite strong, as it's not like they don't have the power inside them, but due to their inability to control it properly it's just not accurate.
I can see Infernape being able to use Aura Sphere. As a fighting type already, it's likely naturally capable of using fighting techniques that do not involve physical attacks, especially given its equal attacking stats. Infernape being able to concentrate its fighting spirit into an orb of damage? Well, it's concentrating its fighting spirit for its punches and kicks anyway, so why not? A similar argument can be made for Keldeo, given that it's literally already a special attacker.
Tapu Lele could probably also learn Aura Sphere, as even though it is not a Fighting type, the guardian quartet does have a lot to do with spirits and aura anyway, so I can see it.
Beyond that, a lot of the Pokemon that don't know Aura Sphere don't know it for good reason, and thus should not learn it, even if that makes it hard for them to use fighting coverage.
I think of it similarly to the fact that a lot of electric types haven't been able to use Ice coverage since losing Hidden Power. You could (and I would) argue Jolteon should get Ice coverage by virtue of being an Eeveelution, a family of Pokemon known for being able to become many types; thus Jolteon could make itself icy for a split second and let out an Ice Beam. Most other Electric types, however, had no business having Ice coverage to begin with, and I'm glad they don't have it anymore, Tera Blast aside. So give Jolteon some Ice moves and call it a day.
As annoying as it is that Focus Blast misses so often, and that it's many Pokemon's only option for special Fighting coverage...well, that's the game. And while Game Freak has re-balanced the game in many ways since the series first existed, I think them leaving Focus Blast alone is intentional.
I am open to being proven wrong in the future, of course.

INTRO POST
☆
Hi! I'm Aster, pronouns are He/Him, I'm 19, and I'm a pokémon trainer!
I was the Galarian Champion for a few years, but I didn't.. really enjoy it so I resigned. I still go and participate in the occasional tournament but I'm busy with school. Speaking of school! I currently attend the Uva Academy in their Dragon-Type course (Also I'm dual-enrolled in BBA). I intend on rehabilitating dragon-types as a job once I'm done :)
I'm also a champion-ranked trainer in Paldea, and I currently work with environment and ecosystem research with the Great Crater! It's a lotta fun!
☆
My Team!!
Seraph
Cinderace (F)
Lvl.100
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Water
My starter! She's been with me through it all. I don't know what I'd do without her honestly, she's the best partner pokémon you could ask for. She doesn't do battles much anymore due to an injury, but she's currently undergoing rehab at a facility in Mesagoza.
■
Jumpscare
Glimmora (F) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Grass
My team's Ace. Jumpscare was my first marked shiny and that's where she got her name! I have to keep her out of the spice cabinet because if I don't then she'll eat the entire box of salt and then the entire academy will have toxic spikes on the floor from her zoomies.
■
Atomic Betty
Tinkaton (F)
Lvl.100
Ability: Own Tempo
Tera Type: Steel
Queen of chaos. Betty was adopted from a pokémon shelter from where she was surrendered to because she was a "breedject" or something. She's a force of nature, as literally NOTHING will get in her way if she wants something. This has resulted in a lot of property damage though...
She's also banned in Galar (for obvious reasons) and I really hate leaving her behind in Paldea.
■
Caelus
Minior ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Shields Down
Tera Type: Stellar
My shiny Minior! I caught him while I was at the Blueberry Academy for a semester. It just, randomly showed up. Like, completely randomly. It's quiet, and just likes to stare out the window a lot. Often I let Caelus just go where it pleases at night, and it always comes back by dawn.
■
Megatron
Archaludon (M) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Stamina
Tera Type: Ghost
My shiny Archaludon! I caught him when he was just a Duraludon, and he evolved while I was exploring Paldea. While he can't gigantimax anymore, I still love him just the same, and now we have more strategies to use in battle!
■
Ayinn
Milotic (M) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Marvel Scale
Tera Type: Ground
Ayinn is another member of my original champion team in Galar. Also in my opinion the most beautiful Milotic ever. Ayinn was my mother's before she passed him to me after I beat Kabu's gym.
He's also a shiny!! His scales are some of the prettiest milotic scales I've seen, so Ayinn takes a lot of pride in them, and I try to help keep those scales healthy
■
This guy isn't on my team, but I think Hano should be mentioned here since they're very important to me :)
Hano
Miraidon (Lvl.100)
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Ice
Hano!! I met them near the Poco Path lighthouse. We're really close and Hano actually acts as my service 'mon. I lost my leg in an accident and Hano now helps me get around if I'm not wearing my prosthetic that day (or if it hurts too much to walk, ykno?).
They don't like battling, and I won't ever force them to. Not after everything they were subjected to, Hano deserves better than that.
■
Also since I did reveal it, yes I do take care of (an? Idk) Eternatus. I won't give much on it though until it lets me.
EVO
Eternatus (Lvl.???)
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: ???
You can ask me questions and I can give vague answers. Maybe letting people ask 'em things might help the big guy open up a little and see that humans outside of me aren't scary :")
■
And of course, the one and only Emperor, the Alpha Garchomp I inherited from my great-grandfather:
Emperor
Garchomp (M)
Lvl.95
Ability: Sand Veil
Tera Type: Steel
The big man himself, the one and only!!
■
Jellybean 💙
The surskit I got from an egg someone pelipper mailed to me (I am not happy with that person, but I love jellybean with my whole heart).
Please do not send other people pokémon eggs unless the recipient is prepared and willing to take the egg. Even then, don't breed pokémon unnecessarily.
Surskit (F) ✨️
Lvl. 01
Ability: Rain Dish
Tera Type: Water
-
Also note that I have a lot of other pokémon I care for! I'll mention them here and there on my blog, but if you want me to I'll happily elaborate on who the rest of my pokémon are!!

oh god oh fuck they're doing a 7-star Mewtwo raid. This is gonna be the HARDEST raid yet because not only is Mewtwo an incredibly powerful special attacker, its physical attack is high enough that it could one-hit KO most pokemon with a supereffective attack, and that's the LEAST scary part about this fight!
No, the worst part is that its moves will be completely unpredictable. it will be entirely impossible to form a strategy until we've seen the beast in action.
As a special attacker, it has the signature move Psystrike, which combined with the Psychic tera-typing, will be absolutely devastating to any pokemon that isn't a Dark-type. It also has access to a powerful special attack to match almost any type. Even if we know its base type, we also know it can easily cover its weaknesses, and cover them well.
And that's if it's a pure special attacker. If it also knows any physical attacks, this raid may actually be impossible because of how thin it requires us to spread our defenses to accommodate. It gets all three elemental punches, poison jab, stone edge, foul play, and earthquake.
Not to mention, berries will be useless. So far every 7-star raid has had its hidden abilities, and frankly, Mewtwo with Unnerve is the best-case scenario. If it has Pressure, all the PP Max in the world won't get you all the way to the end of the raid.
Oh but I'm not done. We can't even predict Mewtwo's bonus actions. If it's a pure special attacker, there's every chance that it can use both Amnesia and Nasty Plot, giving itself a free +2 to special attack and special defense whenever it wants, doubling the damage it deals and halving the damage it receives. But if its also a physical attacker, we have to worry about a potential Calm Mind/Bulk Up combo, giving it a +1 bonus to all stats except Speed, which is already exceptionally high.
But even THAT might be bearable, if only we weren't expected to use Mew, a pokemon known for having the lowest passable value in every stat. Luckily, it has access to literally every TM in the game, including Steel Beam, for some reason.
Boys, this one's gonna be rough.

Pokemon Violet & Scarlet 7-Star Mewtwo Raid Guide
I now have Mewtwo in Pokemon Violet & Scarlet, so here is a guide for what I learned when doing the raids. The rest goes under the cut to save space.
You need four players using Mew. Mew gets a boost when it first comes onto the field, and I haven't found anything else that has staying power. The 7-Star Mewtwo raids really seem to be set up on the assumption that you'll be using Mew. So use Mew.
EV Mew for defense and special defense first of all, with a bit in HP and Attack. Speed's pretty much a drop stat. It's not that you can't outspeed Mewtwo with enough EVs; it's that this is a raid, not a match where you can one-shot the opposing pokemon. There really just isn't enough value in being faster to justify taking EVs away from anything else.
Have a nature that boost Attack or Defense. Note that while Mewtwo is a special attacker, it has a move that does damage on the physical side, and that's the one that it'll use the most. That move is Psystrike, and Mewtwo is getting a boost to it from being the Psychic tera type.
Mewtwo knows Calm Mind, Psystrike, Ice Beam, and Aura Sphere. Also, because Mewtwo is a Cheating Bastard, it also knows Rest and has a chesto berry. We'll get to that.
I think it's because the shields are up - oh, right, Mewtwo puts the shields up at the start of the battle, right after giving itself a starting Calm Mind boost - you can't use status moves against Mewtwo directly.
Okay, so what moves should the Mews have?
Well, between them, the Mews should have:
light screen
bug buzz or x-scissor (if tera type is bug) or shadow claw (if tera type is ghost)
leech life (regardless of tera type)
life dew
electric terrain or misty terrain
mudslap
A boosting move like bulk up or swords dance
Light screen, life dew, and electric/misty terrain only need to be had by one mew, although it doesn't need to be the same mew. You can get away with just having one mew know mudslap. Attacking mews should have a boosting move and attacking moves of the ghost or bug type. And PP max them! Mewtwo is so flipping bulky that it'll take a LOT of attacks to take it down.
When the raid starts, the team should set up light screen, and the player responsible for mudslap should hit Mewtwo about three times. Mewtwo will clear the accuracy drops eventually, at which point it should be hit another three times. Yes, aura sphere will always hit - unless you're tera type ghost! - but that is seriously Mewtwo's least powerful move. And bug type pokemon resist fighting type attacks. (Aura sphere is why dark teras aren't advised.)
Once you can Terastallize - and you're relatively healthy - do so, boost up, and focus on breaking Mewtwo's shields. Now, right before the shields go down, the player responsible for electric/misty terrain needs to set it up, pay very close attention to turns, and keep it up for the rest of the game! As long as electric/misty terrain is up, Mewtwo can't heal up with rest.
Then it's just a matter of taking out the rest of Mewtwo's health.
I used a scope lense for my item, but I could see stuff like bright powder having value. Just don't use berries! Mewtwo's ability is Unnerve, so you won't be able to use the berry.
Updated: I thought reflect was needed to halve the damage of psystrike, but light screen still does that, even though psystrike deals physical damage. Also, misty terrain is interchangeable with electric terrain for the purpose of these raids, and while bug buzz is slightly more powerful than x-scissor, the latter will work if you can't manage the former.
