Todays photos! Made it to the Abandoned District today and finally unlocked the glide outfit. I struggled a lot with some of the platforming challenges (Path to the Dream Warehouse entrance my dearly detested) but I really loved the scene within the Dream Warehouse where you get on the big flying crane and it starts playing the prettiest insert song I've heard in a while.

Also if I had a nickel for every time something happened to the parental figure of one of the female npc's nikki becomes besties with I would have exactly two nickels so far, which is not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

I'm jamaican so logically, you should've said smoke weed instead of crack. It's stereotypical but it'd fit better.

Given the country's history the main crop when it was a colony was sugarcane, so it'd be sugarcane picking and not cotton picking! Research is always good to do beforehand sending things like this to get it accurate!

Apart from those 2 points the rest is sort of uninspired and uncreative. It lacks a certain originality y'know? It doesn't tell me much of your writing style and it feels like your more copying other racist remarks instead of truly putting yourself into it and making it yours and unique!

All in all i'd give this a 4/10, hate to give you such a harsh grade but it had to be done. I don't give out pity marks.

another kinktober announcement

Alright, I'll just throw it out there. Sadly, there will be no kinktober from me.

I have been trying so hard to write, but recently I've been really down and life has been not so friendly to say the least. I have been staring at the planning of things to write but I've just been so demotivated looking at that empty google doc makes me feel ill. I'm not going to stop writing, I'm not leaving or taking a break from Tumblr(I think), the time cramp I'm on, as I did start late, is just really stressful. (And in case it's not obvious enough I don't do well under stress.)

I have tried to come up with alternatives like as headcannons in such scenarios but every time I even try to get started on anything it's just a lot of anxiety growing onto me about posting anything because I feel like it won't be good enough. I'd hate for this all to sound like self-pity but I don't know other words to explain it in. I feel shitty as fuck for saying I'd give yall a kinktober, so to anyone disappointed, I'm very sorry

I mean, you should see me crying even as I'm writing this I just don't know whats going on lol.

Currently reading: Stars, Hide Your Fires by Jessica Mary Best (aka the fabulous creator and writer of the podcast The Strange Case of Starship Iris). I'm adoring it! Queer lesbian sci-fi murder mystery heist, hell yeah. Also the PRETTIEST cover art.

Last song: "Far East Suite" from the first album of the original soundtrack for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, because the show has a gorgeous soundtrack and several songs are on my instrumental wind-down playlist.

Last series: The X-Files. No I haven't finished it, probably won't because holy shit it's so long. I enjoyed the first season and am feeling meh midway through the second one; it's a bit dark for my tastes, but I love Scully and Mulder's dynamic. I've put it down for the moment because of a lack of time and some of the episodes were getting to me (which is just a generalized problem for me, not the fault of the show).

(...I just realized I actually last rewatched an FMAB episode for brain cooldown. whatever, X-Files is the new one)

Last movie: oh boy. Rocky Horror Picture Show, because it's the Halloween season and thus a queer club tradition; I've seen most of it before but this was my first full watch. Friends described it as a fever dream, which is frankly a wild understatement. Wouldn't dream of watching it on my own, definitely fun to watch it in a room full of other queer people who are whispering jokes, especially when some of them haven't seen it.

Currently working on: uhhh soooo many things. Minecraft house? (I play single player peaceful/easy to unwind.) I just finished oxidizing a bunch of copper for my ceiling (I am a perpetual hobbit hole/hobbit-hole-adjacent person bc fuck exteriors) and it looks lovely. Oh, actually, bubble elevator to get up the massive cliff side I'm stuck next to. Tis the season for experimenting whether or not I can get a mule up and down it.

current obsession: ofc f1 but felipe drugovich brainrot has consumed me alive. i saw he was testing for formula e and decided i immediately needed to start watching formula e because in case he gets a seat there next year i need to know whats up. that is truly unprecedented levels of obsessed. anyway i hope having a race weekend will sort me the fuck out i’m desperate to like him a normal amount at this point

I’ll take this reply as my opportunity to kinda kill two birds with one stone and address 2 things: Why I havent been doing much with my Spinel and why King Candy/Turbo hasn’t been an active muse/ever used on this blog despite how much I love him.

1st. I’m waiting for movie hype to die down before I focus on my spinel again. Things got.... WAY out of control and overwhelming when it came to Spinel RPers. I’m not about that “Spinel mafia” life. I love duplicates! But currently it’s an excessive amount and I’m not having a good time with it at all. It’s all dash commentary and crack. I’m overwhelmed completely and lost in the mob so I’m just gonna... Not do TOO much with her until everything calms down to a manageable level again. Then I’ll pick her back up. 

2nd: .... So uh.... This is hard for me to say because I do have SOME friends in the fandom and I do still love the first WiR movie....... But I kinda have been distancing myself from WiR in RP. Because my fandom/RPC experience has been...... Largely negative. From duplicates who didn’t like that I was rping the same muse as them, being harassed by people I’d never even heard of or spoken to... Being generally isolated from the rest of the community over the years for not fitting the community mold. I’ve found that this has happened to others not just myself and ... I decided that it wasn’t worth feeling like garbage about myself. And having to fear that I’ll receive hate from people who don’t even know me. It was... Probably one of the worst experiences of my RP career. Any time I ever think about RPing one of my WiR muses I get that insane anxiety all over again and I shouldn’t have to feel that about wanting to play characters I love.... So... I won’t. Even if I really want to.

random headcanon

he was raised in a conservative catholic household. this may raise some eyebrows, but i see it in his GIGANTIC guilt/martyr complex. i have never seen a character more willing to die for others at the slightest provocation. also, the way all the alien's that read his subconscious say that he "tortures himself every day" over what he perceives to be personal failures screams catholic guilt to me. that, and his biggest fear is himself. not to mention, that boy does not know how to function when he's being hugged. casual intimacy does not seem to be in his lexicon, outside of actual sex.

also, he had feelings for holland, but was content to go the rest of his life never saying anything or doing anything about it. something to acknowledge about himself once, then bury and try to never think about again. but then holland died. so it didn't matter anymore, anyways. (in vegas, john had feelings for the nurse he disobeyed orders to try and save and PARALLELING THAT WITH IN CANON EVENTS RE: HOLLAND'S BOTCHED RESCUE ARE JUST TOO GOOD TO RESIST)
