I hate drawing

I hate drawing so much. So, so much.

Yet every night, I try. I cry. I try. I cry.

"it's shitty" "look at this artist" "you'll never reach this level" "you're an imposter" "can't even draw hands, what an artist"

Those thoughts run on my mind.

But...I can't stop, every night I'm again holding a pencil in front of a blank paper, tears in my eyes.

Maybe I like drawing as much as I hate it...

Or maybe I just need to learn loving it.

Loving me.

sorry these kinds of comments have been really pissing me off recently lol

#it's been kinda hard for me to pinpoint WHY exactly these sort of comments feel insulting #but i think it's mostly because it implies my original work is purposefully and inherently derivative of things i have no connection to #while i think being derivative in art is. kinda unavoidable in a sense (and something i'm aware i do consciously and unconsciously)#it feels like a slap in the face when people imply that my work cannot hold its own merit and need to be compared to #something in the popular conscious #and like sometimes people don't know it's original art which is fine #but it also doesn't hurt to ask if it's original instead of just. immediately assuming or comparing it to something else #i know this will only get more difficult as i continue to drift away from fanart and fan works #but i really want to be able to be proud of my original work and i want to share more! because it's a part of me!!#but its really hard when it feels like i'm always going to be compared to things people care about more!!!! #art #twisted wonderland #twisted wonderland spoilers #twisted wonderland episode 7 spoilers #twisted wonderland book 7 spoilers #they are truly the most inspiring love story of our generation #though i guess he's not dr. zigvolt since zigvolt is the clan name...#unless he took her name which i absolutely could see. why would you ever not want to be called zigvolt.#this does tie nicely in with my headcanon that sebek's siblings got more of the fae features than he did #and he has a Complex about it #i get the impression that sebek's siblings are much closer in age to each other and also have more of their dad's chill #so sebek is sort of the baby of the family and he's got a Complex about that too #i think a lot about the zigvolt family for characters who have never actually appeared #on the subject of actual canon though #i do actually really appreciate that both sebek and silver each had a little moment of reassuring each other #that this is 400 years ago and also incredibly unfortunate circumstances #and present-day reality lilia and baul love them very much #(i do think sebek is secretly baul's favorite grandkid)#it was just nice to see! especially from sebek! he is sometimes a very thoughtful boy and it's always nice to see that side of him #sebek trying SO hard to get baul to like him though 😭#and lilia being like 'aw i think you're getting kind of fond of him :)'#i love. Is becoming a fairy a bad thing? If Timmy is so much happier... why IS it bad?

It's a bit like suddenly thrusting the fate of the world onto some prophesied chosen child's hands. Children shouldn't have the mental fortitude to handle any of that.

Timmy's very glad and happy he became a fairy. He just thinks no other kid should have to make such a choice. You can't get mad when the former prophesied chosen child prevents you from prophesying future children the same fate.
