I hate drawing

I hate drawing so much. So, so much.

Yet every night, I try. I cry. I try. I cry.

"it's shitty" "look at this artist" "you'll never reach this level" "you're an imposter" "can't even draw hands, what an artist"

Those thoughts run on my mind.

But...I can't stop, every night I'm again holding a pencil in front of a blank paper, tears in my eyes.

Maybe I like drawing as much as I hate it...

Or maybe I just need to learn loving it.

Loving me.

SO MANY PEOPLE GUESSED CORRECTLY!#It wasn't that hard #We know Papyrus knows the river person #are they friends? idk BUT I PERSONALLY THINK THEY ARE #I just LOVEEE looking at the dialogue and making connections #I referenced one of the lines from the river person here...sometimes they'll ask you if you know any game you can play with a dog...#They said they were “asking for a friend...”#And I couldn't help but think about Papyrus' problem with the annoying dog LMAO #+ Papyrus seems very excited to know if the river person is there when you call him nearby that area #Okay so... now ...some comic thing that I made up but also didn't...#“FLOWEY DOESN'T KNOW WHO THE RIVER PERSON IS?”#okay so...#I feel like #It's not very common for them to be there...#When talking with Undyne around that area it's kind of *unclear* if she knows about the river person being there....#She tells you about the river connecting different areas and that you should “jump in”#She then clarifies that's the only thing they got for public transport #AND LIKE? Okay, can I gush about how much I enjoyed drawing this one scene? idk why, but it itches a spot in my brain. Something about Sam being way too tall for the shot and having the entire middle ground be essentially half a city. Sense of scale is always fun to play around with.

This comic has been a very fun way to implement my different interests.

This part is very inspired by my silly Godzilla obsession. LITERALLY. This one scene was heavily inspired by the Godzilla comic I'm reading :)

Also YES. Godzilla showed up in the OG Marvel Comic series and it's as cheesy and beautiful as you can imagine.

i will never have this attitude to anything else in any part of life but i did not down monster and coffee and sit in my university library all night and experience rollercoaster level anxiety on the countdown to last submissions just so people can write their essays with chatgpt

#ramble #i know i keep saying it but god forbid you fucking try. god forbid you make an effort with anything in your life #what happened to the frantic typing and no spellchecking because you've got 40 minutes left and the bibliography isn't done #what happened to scribbling the conclusion as the teacher was literally walking around the room collecting papers #i hated every minute of it but submitting my dissertation was the greatest day of my life at the time. bc i worked so fucking hard #i hate 'suffer like i suffered' in EVERYTHING else except for this. sometimes shit is hard work. if you want a skill you fucking work #i am going to assume if you use generative ai that you don't care. and i don't fucking trust you #and i don't care about anything that you couldn't be bothered to make yourself #fun fact: if i hadn't started tattooing i would've done a masters and been a lecturer!#and i'm glad i didn't because honestly idk if i'm above screaming at teenagers for things like this #i feel the same way about ai 'art' because like. you didn't earn it. you didn't try #writing is hard and drawing is hard but you learn so much!!! and i hate that people can't see that the point is the process of it all #the love is in the labour
