Types of people that tell you not to vote:
Upper-middle class white/cishet/abled """communists""" who have nothing at stake should fascists take power.
Accelerationists who want social collapse because they glorify violence.
Far right douches pretending to be leftists and/or minorities on their alt accounts.
Russian trolls
Puritans-in-denial who are too obsessed with doing nothing wrong to consider doing something good.
Terminally online troglodytes who have spent so much time in an echo chamber that they forgot how politics work.
Hardcore conspiracy theorists
Genuine idiots.
In conclusion, fucking vote, if not for yourself, then for those who cannot vote for themselves.

Yeah I’m taking a social media break.
With the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, as well as just personal crap I’ve been dealing with, I think it’s just best for my mental health to take a break. I already have a headache. I feel sick and anxious. I don’t know how long it will be before I’m back, but I will be back.
All I have to say is please vote in November if you’re American and of age, and if you’re not please urge any of age American friends you have to vote.

I think the real question that needs to be asked is: Who has the bigger boobs: Mark Hoffman or Thomas Hewitt 👀 tbh all Leatherface iterations are built like brick walls, but there's something him specifically

With Kamala/Walz going up DAILY, I've seen more people talking about voting third party/Jill Stein (EW) and I believe the above screencaps from @three--rings can explain WHY Third Party votes NEVER work NOR is this the election to screw around in.
Everyone....like she says above.....PLEASE LEARN FROM HISTORY!!!
(Because if Trump gets in, he's NEVER LEAVING).

IF YOU LIVE IN THE US, PLEASE READ THIS
Posting this from the bird app since I hope it can help people.
People have been contacting the White House directly to demand a recount, especially since there has been evidence that not every ballot has been counted and will be thrown away if it hasn't been cured.
The link to contact the White House is here!
The following screenshot comes from here!

If you need help writing something, check under the cut! I've provided a prewritten response from one of the replies!
"I am a concerned citizen, and I need you to hear me. I urge you to recount the ballots from this election and investigate election interference. Bomb threats have been called into multiple polling locations, causing some to close early. Domestic terrorists have burned ballot boxes. An unprecedented number of ballots have been rejected and require curing. There have been reports of polling officers allowing voter intimidation in and outside of polling places across the country and an estimated 20 million mail in ballots are unaccounted for. In addition, many people have reported that ballots were not counted for suspicious reasons such as signature invalidation which is information that vote counters do not have access to. These events have occurred in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Georgia, for instance."
Feel free to add and change what you want, this is just a base for you to work off of.

The mere fact gerrymandering is a thing should prove to you that, yes, your vote does count. And because it counts, those people do EVERYTHING in their power to try to make your vote count “less.” Just look at the map for the districts in Texas alone, see all those wonky boarders in the electoral districts? That’s because they try to either: put all the “blue” votes inside one district surrounded by all red OR they split the blue vote (and that’s only what I know from government class in high school, there could be other ways these boarders are manipulated to try to “minimize” blue voters or any vote that goes against them).
They do this and they discourage you to vote because they KNOW that if EVERY SINGLE eligible person were to vote, EVERY SINGLE state would be BLUE. And no, that’s not me exaggerating, I’m taking a political class right now is to Uni requirements and in my textbook, it literally says that.
So please, please please please
VOTE
It’s not only your rights you’re potentially throwing away, it’s EVERYONES.
hey my besties who live in red states: id like you to go out and vote anyway.
yeah, the electoral college means your vote doesn't count unless you win your state. it's a terrible undemocratic bullshit system. it's not going to change before this election,* so there isn't much point in complaining about it right now.
if you hold the belief that there's no point in voting because your voice will just be downed out by a chorus of bigotry- chances are other people in your state feel the same way. and because those people are not voting, it's impossible to know how many of you there are. the reason it's important to vote EVEN WHEN YOU KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE is to make this number public.
when the minority in a state still goes out to vote:
- other members of the minority party know they aren't alone in their state. this encourages MORE people to vote in the next election
- the majority candidates are forced to divert some of their campaign resources away from swing states to secure a state they were already going to win
- the minority candidates are encouraged to spend some time campaigning in your state instead of abandoning it as a lost cause
- assuming you also vote in local elections, the minority is more likely to win representatives in the house
- who knows there might be so many of you that you fucking flip it by mistake
there has been a 700% increase in new daily voter registrations in the few days since Biden dropped out of the race.
thousands of people are deciding, right now, that voting is worth it. some of them live in your state. there is going to be a spike in blue votes across the country. this election is going to have the youngest voter turnout in history. this is the best possible time to join them. join us.
what have you got to lose? one afternoon?
