"Broken", Not Stupid - 14: What Do You Do?

Author's Note: How about something more gentle before we get into 13 starting to explain things? I feel a bit bad about part 13 x'D have some cute, fluffy things uwu

I settle on to the couch just fine and Selene joins me, as Simon said she would. It doesn't take him long to return from the room - blanket in his arms, as promised.

"Lay down." His voice is gentle still but I can tell he's no less tense. I do as he says without argument and Selene jumps up to the back of the couch, curling up directly above my head.

"Are you ok?" I ask as he places the blanket over me.

"I'll be fine. Didn't cut deep."

My hand pops out from under the blanket, fingers wrapping around his wrist carefully.

"I know you know that's not what I meant, Simon."

He freezes at my touch, eyes locked on mine, but doesn't say anyhting. Not right away at least. His fingers twitch slightly before gently sliding over the inside of my wrist.

"Just... angry for you. And the other omegas that Salvation has or has had in their hands. No more talk of it tonight, though," he says firmly, eyebrows raising to emphasize his point. "I'll bring you a plate when dinner's ready. Call for me if you need help with the tv, but otherwise stay put and hang out with Selene."

My grip on his wrist loosens and he pulls away, making his way back to the kitchen.

The tv and remote are fairly simple to work so I check various streaming servies before settling on soem random cartoon. Something about princes and dragons? I'm not sure. Half of my attention was on listening to Simon work in the kitchen.

I find it silly. I've known the guy for a couple of days, probably not even a full twenty-four hours at this point, but I feel more comfortable around him than anyone I've been around in a long time. Or maybe my self-preservation skills aren't as nice as I thought they were. I'm also just used to surviving Salvation's-

No more talk of it tonight. Simon's words ring through my skull and I frown.

Guess that means no thinking about it any more tonight either. Oh, well- oh, elves. Cool!

My attention is drawn to the tv, the story and characters pulling me in easily. Magic and magical beings have always fascinated me. Kind of like the little friend I saw in the sunr-

No. No, that was a rat. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Here," Simon says softly as he puts a bowl down on the coffee table. "Not my best dish, but it is comforting to me."

"What is it?" I ask, sitting up so I can eat.

Inside the bowl seems to be a stew, at least from the looks of it.

"Just what I used to throw together when I'd have a bad day and just needed something easy to cook and eat. Something warm but still good for me. Try it," he nods to the bowl in my hands.

Don't have to tell me twice; it smells wonderful. One bite has my taste buds exploding and my eyes wide.

"This isn't your best dish? Somehow I don't believe that," I argue through a mouthful of the stew.

He chuckles and shakes his head.

"One of the simplest and quickest things I could make. I take it you like it then?"

I groan as I take another bite and his chuckle grows to a quiet, shoulder shaking laugh.

"I'm almost scared to know what else you're able to cook," I admit as a joke through another bite. "When did you learn to cook?"

"Had an involuntary leave a few years back," he shrugs and settles back into the couch. "Needed something to do with my hands so I decided to learn to cook and bake."

"You bake too? Jeez, are you sure you need an omega?" I scoff, smiling.

His head turns so he can look directly at me. He almost looks irritated.

"There's more to life as an omega than 'household duties'. We'll save that discussion for tomorrow, though. Would you like me to teach you? Then, if you'd like, you can practice while I'm out for work and surprise me with any new-found skills when I get back."

"You're offering to teach me to cook and bake? Do you even have time? From the way you and Johnny have been talking, you'll be gone the majority of the time."

The omega in my head is unsettled by the idea of him not being around often, but the rest of me doesn't mind. I'm not big on human company constantly anyway.

"Price, my captain, knew I'd be searching for an omega so I'm on leave right now. Plus we're in-between missions right now anyway." Simon pauses for a moment, expression neutral. "You haven't asked what I do for work."

The unspoken question of 'Are you going to ask?' lingers in the air. I take a couple more bites of my food, finishing what's in the bowl and placing it on the coffee table.

"I'm curious," I nod. "But is it really my business?"

"It is as much as it can be. I can't go into full detail, but I can give you the general information."

I shift on the couch, turning so my legs are tucked under me and I'm facing him. The blanket also gets moved so it's over my shoulders and head as I pull it closed in front of me. This seems to amuse Simon considering the small crinkle near his eyes.

"I'm a lieutenant, SAS. My team consists of four individuals, including myself, but we occasionally recruit people from other branches of the military. Sometimes even people from other countries' militaries - like Jeanz, she's part of Ireland's military."

"Who else is on your team? Johnny?" I prob for more answers, curiosity taking over.

"Johnny is one of the two sargeants in my team, yes. The other is Kyle and Price is our captain. The three of them are the people who know me best in this world," he adds the last sentence with almost a sad tone to his voice.

"Are Kyle and Price who I'll meet tomorrow?"

"Yes. If you and I want to do something about Salvation, I'll need to involve them. Are you ok with sharing your experieinces with more than just me?"

"It might take me a moment to get settled with them around, but I'll do my best," I offer with a shrug. "Fourteen years is also a lot of 'experience' to cover so this may take more than just tomorrow."

"It'll take time," he agrees with a slight nod. "I don't want you to think or worry about tomorrow, okay? They're good men and they'll be here to help. If at any point you're uncomfortable or need a break, you can tell me. Until then..."

He trails off as he adjusts and motions for me to come closer.

"Grab the remote and come here. Had a relization while cooking and woud like to fix my mistake."

I do as he says, but I give him a confused look as I scoot closer.

"Mistake? Simon, you've not done anything-"

"That's the problem. Lay down with your head on my lap. You may be an independent woman, but I'm sure the omega side of you is feeling rather nelgected. If it makes you too uncomfortable, you can move, but please try."

A soft blush warms my cheeks at his words, but I lay down just like he told me to. It feels... awkward, but still comfortable. I curl further into the blanket - his blanket - and glue my eyes to the tv.

Cinnamon and cedar fills my senses and I relax further, letting myself roll slightly towards him to truly rest against him. It doesn't take long for Selene to curl up near my chest. It takes even less time for my eyes to slip closed and for me to drift into a truly relaxing sleep.

Roll a DICE to the RESCUE!

My (first) double-page contribution to @turbofox-zines 's TF Fanzine/Art Anthology: the RBA Zine, in all its glory!

Well, here is upscaled thrice so, I suggest everyone check the full monster of a piece by [Downloading it here] the whole booklet because there's so much precious art and writing (we even got a special guest story!) that deserves the support.

This illustration is extra special to me because it marks my first time working on a double page instead of my usual one-page piece. It's the first time I let my Graphic Designer knowledge take credit for the lettering, text, and graphic components to make this a full-functional board game (it works beautifully printed in an A3!).

The admins even let me contribute with the little character graphics to decorate the zine pages, something I was delighted about ♥

Now, as always I'll share my art process under the cut because a lot was going out during the journey to make this piece look as professional as you see it now. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did, thank you to all for the support ✨

I confess: I never EVER before illustrated a whole map in this art style x'D So I was glad this show already had shots from different perspectives of its setting. Still, not every place was visually consistent so this map is more of an approximation than a loyal representation of the canon.

I think the hardest part is to make something that looks good both with an without the board game path.

... I confess too that even if I'm obsessed to make things follow a certain logic, I struggled a ton with the perspective 💥

“You know, I think if we had a competition for the most gnarly injury you’d win it every time,” Leo commented while he focused on properly cleaning the four definitely infected slashes across Donnie’s back. It had been tense at first, considering it had been way longer than Leo would have liked before the wounds were properly addressed. The others had tried to take care of them without him since he'd been with Splinter at Big Mama's place, but they just didn’t have his eye for the important things. And Shredder really did some damage this time. At least Donnie's battle shell had managed to take the brunt of the blow. “Raph would win on the sheer number of injuries, of course. He goes through band aids like personal sized pizza. But you definitely, somehow, always end up with the most complicated ones.”

Leo was making jokes. And while it was exasperating to listen to, it was also reassuring for Donnie to hear. It meant that while he still felt awful and kept a fistful of Splinter’s robe, Leo was confident he would be just fine. “...I think this is a competition I’d rather lose,” Donnie responded, voice muffled by the pillow his face was mostly smothered in. Leo was being as gentle as possible, but the sterile saline still caused his tissue to sting, earning hisses and flinches from him.

Leo could only chuckle in response, tenderly pressing Donnie’s shell so he could see inside the gash better. “Don’t worry pops. He’ll be just fine. I can already see improvement because of the antibiotics,” he assured when he noticed Splinter giving him a mildly frustrated look. “This isn’t even as bad as the one he got when he was a tot - oh, another piece of metal. Hang on.” His assurance broke off as he was able to confirm that there was a foreign material that needed to be removed from the wound, setting one of the many bottles of saline down in exchange for needle pointed tweezers. Donnie already knew the drill by now, and responded by sucking in a stiff breath and tightening his grip on his dad, Splinter returning the motion by holding him a little more firmly. He wasn’t looking forward to the stitches, but he was looking for the long nap he was going to take once Leo was finally done.

And at least Leo’s hands had gotten a lot more steady over the years.

Here, have a little side turtle thing unrelated to any of my existing projects |D Or well, mostly unrelated. I started drawing this like 2 weeks ago and then forgot why I wanted to draw it other than Mikey mentioning it in CDK. And sometimes I like to draw angst, but then I ran out of the super angst desire for this one and ended up making it a little lighter in the text?

OC's name is Monkey D. Lumii, who is Luffy's younger twin sister, knowing many things about sailing and loves learning new things because she thought one of twin needs to be smart( but still kinda silly since Luffy and she is twin after all), her dream is let her twin brother be Pirate King and get One Piece at the story beginning, but after a whole complex story, she ends up leaving StrawHats and creating a new family crew with Marco the Phoenix after Luffy became Pirate King.

She loves her Dad and Baba and every siblings

(actually she love siblings too much which makes she hate everyone that hurt their own siblings)(cough cough Doflamingo cough cough Germa cough cough)

And about the some headcannons, here we just talk about these two:

2. Sengoku and Garp are married after they both retired.

But what upper there wasn't the reason why I am here to confess, the real reason is I saw your family tree picture and brain just like "Oh shoot my secret extend just make this family tree more complex and hilarious and chaotic.

Hey Syllll! Long time, no chat! I just wanted to get this off my chest before i go ham trying to figure out what i wanna commission from you soon.

I have been reading Undersource for years now, and i think we've both come a long way since then! God, that feels weird to say, i'm not even old enough to drink yet lmao. But! I am old enough to spend my money responsibly now, which is nuts given that my responsible spending is now aimed at getting art of my blorbos LOL.

You've grown as an artist so much since i first started reading- i think that was around... the pirate arc? Not sure! But i do remember the early days of me having discord, during the EKD server category era. But anyways, i know the way you drew our favorite skeletons was different back then, and it's all gotten so much smoother in that time. You're also (at least seemingly) taking way better care of yourself! You've set boundaries, you've set more time for yourself and not the blog, and you're still happily chugging along, after all these years. Not to mention you're working on this side story now, which i'm fairly certain you've been looking forward to for a while.

How's that sleeping though? Do you still have the sleep cycle of an austalian? Can't say i'm any better, im slowly becoming nocturnal again lol. Some things NEVER change.

Anyways. All this to say: im really proud to have been part of this little community for so long. To see the comic and its artist come so far. Even if im not a diehard fan anymore, im glad i can still take a little time every weekend to realize "OH, U/S shoulda updated!" and run over here. Hi Azzy! :D I'm glad you still like my work even after all this time! Thank you for sticking around! :D

I have been taking better care of myself these days! I'm (only sometimes begrudgingly XD) going on daily walks (Pikmin Bloom is really helping with that, I love Pikmin they're so cute), and made some new friends! When I first started this blog I was convinced I had to constantly/frequently produce content, and I time went on I slowly realized that wasn't really viable, so I slowly trimmed down the workloads for better manageability, I'd say it's helped a lot! Even if it may not look like it sometimes XD

There was a point before I adjusted my work schedule where I figured out that I may have been riding a creative burnout for a long while, as when I looked back it felt like my work had begun to visually stagnate. I think at the time I was cramming working on the comic update across only 3 or 4 days (Wednesday/Thursday to Saturday mornings, sometimes down to the wire), with several hours of just constant work (plus any distractions and 3 daily asks) because I was procrastinating so badly X'D I'm still recovering from the visual stagnation, but I'm definitely trying to experiment where I can! I may not be the best at it but I hope I'm improving at least ksjdghLSDGH My current schedule is MUCH more spaced out and much more manageable, spanning Sunday to Friday and broken down into stages for each day, and Saturdays are my designated day off~

As for the side story, it's one I've had around for quite a while and have been excited to finally show off! There were a few people who were interested in it when it was first teased, though I've no idea if they're still around, if they are I hope they're enjoying the story so far as well! 💜

Oddly enough my sleep schedule is no longer on Cthulhu Standard Time SKSDJGHDLG We had a TON of construction going on in the house the past few months and it was way too awkward to sleep with a bunch of strangers either being in or near my room, as well as making a LOT of noise sjkdhgLKSDJG There was a brief section of time where I'd actually go to bed at a "normal" time and get up at like, 9 or 10 am X'D Though it's slowly sneaking it's way into afternoons to 3 or 4 AM after I feed the kitties, kinda like my old college schedule XD

Okay, so I liveblogged my reactions to reading LOTR; now I'm watching the movies and figured I'd share my reactions.

(I had planned to wait a bit before watching the movies, but I keep seeing screenshots that make me think different elements are pulled out and emphasized, and I'm fascinated to see how they take the same base story and present it in this different medium. So here I am. XD)

The Fellowship of the Ring

Ooh, I like the narrator lady's voice.

Is that an orc? They're terrifying!

Also, Sauron looks less terrifying than my mental image while reading the books showed.

I fear I might get jumpscared by Gollum. The way he flicked his head around? And they got the glow of his eyes so well!

(Also, it's so fitting that LOTR starts with several minutes of backstory infodumping. I think Tolkien would've been disappointed by anything less. XD)

Ahhhhhhh the hobbits seem extra charming!

"If you're referring to the incident with the dragon, I was barely involved." OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH THAT'S A LOTR QUOTE!!

Ahhhhhh the Nazgûl are so creepy! I mean, I knew they were creepy in the books too, but they feel extra creepy now that I see them on screen.

Ahh! Got jumpscared by Gandalf. (I'm easily startled.)

Oooh! I was hoping they'd do this—mix in the scenes with Gandalf's meeting with Saruman instead of him just recapping it much later. I felt as I read the books that it would have been better pacing (or at least, I should say, better pacing to my modern sensibilities as a reader—I shouldn't assume that the original audience back then consumed media exactly the same way as people do now).

I need to rewatch part of this scene again because all I can do is chuckle at Merry-Go-Gandalf.

Annnnnnd just got startled by Merry and Pippin. X'D

My goodness they got to Bree quickly! *flashes back to weeks of reading* I feel that a lot of characterization got skipped over, but also, the movies may find other ways to thread that in—plus it may take a slightly different spin on the characters.

(Am slightly disappointed that Merry and Pippin did not get nearly eaten by a tree. Pity, that.)

But also, that lower, hobbit-sized window in the door? PRECIOUS!

SECOND BREAKFAST SCENE YESSSSSSSS

Hmm. The orcs are smaller than I'd imagined. (Still quite scary tho) Though I guess to a hobbit they would seem quite a bit larger.

I had wondered if Aragorn was going to look too kingly to pull of the Strider side of him, but he does it quite well!

The working conditions in Isengard are not OSHA compliant.

Oh, that's a— that's a big scary orc!

Arwen! I was not expecting that. Like, at all. (Movie Arwen is so epic. I love her.)

Ahhhhh! One does not simply walk into Mordor!

The Council of Elrond is much more chaotic than in the books. XD

AHHHH Bilbo gave me a half jumpscare there.

Their journey seems so much less cold and miserable in the movies compared to the books. XD

OSHA violations. OSHA violations everywhere. (I know they don't have OSHA there but I'd like to think they had a Middle Earth equivalent with the exact same requirements anyway because it adds a significant layer of mirth to the situation, so we are moving forward under the assumption that they do.) Look at this. Look at it.

I know Saruman is tall, but that guardrail can't be the required 42 inches. And I highly doubt that he filed the necessary paperwork for an exemption.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH How did I miss the significance of the password being "Friend" in Elvish? Because it's a dwarven mine but the elves were friends—the way the movie hovered on Gimli for a second there made it hit me like a ton of bricks because I started wondering, "I wonder what this means for him?" I love how different storytelling forms can draw things out!

(Adding in a parenthetical while circling back after the first movie ended—I do wish they'd put a little more focus on Legolas and Gimli's relationship changing. But even so.)

CAVE TROLL JUMPSCARE! (Yes, yes, I know, I totally expected that... but it scared me nonetheless. I fear I would not do well watching a horror movie.)

The dwarves also have no regard for Middle Earth OSHA. No handrail at all on that bridge??

Also, THIS was much closer to my mental picture of the scene (prior to reading LOTR) than the book had. Perhaps I've seen enough screenshots over the years that it worked its way in. XD

I wasn't sure at first what I thought of Aragorn knowing that Frodo was going off alone and sending him off. But after thinking it over, I think that him letting the great source of power go away fits within the thematic context of the movie very well. That, and the fact that the movie has fewer layers of complexity surrounding their route make it just make sense that they handled it this way.

And also, it's twice now that I've cried during the death of Boromir.

I really like the way The Fellowship of the Ring ended here—I mean, yes, it's the same as the book. But the pacing and cinematography was great!

Also, beautiful credits music.

Overall, I really enjoyed this adaptation. It does remove some complexity, but it also adds some other details and complexities that the books just gloss over entirely. If I were looking for a 1:1 copy, I would probably find myself disappointed by the movies. But as it is, I'm happy as long as a movie holds true to the spirit of the source material. I think that the movies nicely take and build upon the themes of the books in a way that makes sense for the storytelling medium. And that's a good adaptation.

(Watched some scenes from the extended edition the next day. The extra scenes definitely hit on some of the character moments more! I like the tiny bits it shows between Legolas and Gimli.)

(I think that watching it already knowing what happens next is making it much less scary and suspenseful. XD)

Now, see this? Complete lack of adequate fall arrest systems (as evidenced by the blurry man mid-fall).

With the elephant being just a little bit agitated, people are falling left and right, even without being shot first. Simply poor form in terms of personnel management—believe it or not, if your people are dying without the enemy even needing to be involved, it reduces your numbers. *mind blown*

I know some people dislike any deviation from the books, but I'm quite intrigued by Aragorn going cliff jumping. I honestly don't have any guesses about how or when he'll return, but I'm riveted.

One thing this is doing really well is showing the ugliness of war—especially as children are being outfitted with armor.

Was not expecting elves, not gonna lie.

Also, this lack of a handrail?

(To be fair, they might actually have a pass as it's clearly meant for military use, and the military does not answer to OSHA. Saruman and the Dwarves, however, do not have a pass. Isengard might have raised up an army, but it was not a legal military entity.)

YESSSSSSS I was worried for a few minutes there that the movie would gloss over Sam's moment of glory. I worried in vain!

(Watched through the entire rest of the battle with no recorded reactions because I was too busy being riveted and sometimes crying, so now I'm at the part with the orcs fighting in the tower and I SWEAR next time I watch this, I'm going to do a preventable-fall-death count.

Poor Sam. His whole role in the movie is running up stairs for Frodo.

What do you look for in a rp partner?

Chemistry, above all. Writing chemistry is an absolute must, and someone who is willing to actually give me something to respond with. OOC interaction is important as well, but I understand that we're all busy, we're adults, and I absolutely don't expect everyone to chat ooc with each other (especially because I'm a massive culprit here as I'm antisocial af). It's a MAJOR added bonus if we have OOC chemistry as well as writing chemistry, but we don't HAVE to have OOC chemistry to have good writing chemistry either. I have written with people before and we hardly spoke OOC and we just chatted OOC in the tags and shit to get a feel, etc, and there's nothing wrong with that, but it absolutely does help to have OOC interaction and feel like there is a common interest amongst Rp partners. But yes, writing chemistry is an absolute must for me.

Favourite trope?

Oh man, so many... I'm a slut for so many tropes, lol. But my favourite is probably slow burn shipping, getting to know each other and pining and falling in love. I also love frenemies, enemies to lovers, grumpy and happy getting tossed together, and chaotic gremlins causing mischief. I'm also a big sucker for ANGST. Honestly, just give me something to work with and I'm happy, lol. I want to explore all the things with the muses and cause my muses to have reactions.

Who is an author that inspires you?

I think every media that I take in inspires me one way or another. A lot of my inspiration is simply from every day things, common things that humans do, whether that is good or bad. I get inspiration from my favourite movies, music is a LOT of my inspiration, you guys are also a lot of my muse and inspiration. I take it from where I can get it, and that's everywhere. :)

What is the muse that you write for the longest?

Rp wise, it would be my Inquisitor, Kaaras Adaar (from Dragon Age). I think I wrote him for a good... 7-8 years? I mean, I still WILL write him and his blog is still up, I've just not been very DA inspired as of late, tho I do imagine with the new game coming out, I'll likely get back to his blog eventually <3

As for non RP writing, Megatron has been my longest muse, from Transformers. I have a whole long fic series about him, his past, his post war life, lol. It's a wild ride X'D

Do you tell your friends / family that you write?

Yes and no? lol. I'm shy and awkward. There are some people that know I write, there are people who knew I USED to write (don't know I still do), and there are people that don't know I write at all. Most of my family and RL friends don't know I actively write, let alone write fanfiction and RP lol.

Do you ever get jealous when rping? How do you handle this?

I have in the past, yes, and I think that we all have days when we feel a little jealous or down. I've suffered through some very bad depression in my past, and that was a very unhappy time for me, with skewed visions that the depression no doubt made me think. Thankfully, I have been doing a lot better in the last few years. I still have my moments where I do feel like maybe I'm not as good as my RP partners or entertaining, lord knows I'm no way near as chatty as some of you guys lol, and that's okay. I've come to terms with it over the years. That's just the person I am, and there's nothing wrong with that. I know it's just the negative vibes talking and being stupid. When this happens, it's best to just step away from the PC and go enjoy something else. Come back when you feel better and it's all good. Remember, RP is a hobby, and you should enjoy it, it shouldn't make you feel bad. Thankfully, I'm pretty good at recognising when this happens if it does, and I'm able to handle it maturely.

Do you ship someone’s muses on your dash?

Most of the ships I wholeheartedly support, lol. In particular, I love Alaara x Gale (but also Alaara simply oogling her entire camp) @chaoticbard . Seeing Alaara on my dash just brings me joy, she's just such an amusing character. Cassian and Ras are also another couple that I love seeing on my dash, big beefy boys @ode-of-odr , @crimesought (also Sornin and Cassian ofc <33 ), Literally Minthara and anyone because @spiderwarden just writes her SOOOO WELL!!! Also ofc I'm entirely bias when it comes to Haarlep x Raphael. (:

Do you have developed dynamics with the OC of another mun that has influenced your OC or Canon muse?

Oh absolutely! Check out Alaara and Haarlep, and how they have both moved forward (especially Haarlep lol). I absolutely adore their dynamic, and then because of that interaction, I have been able to harass Astarion @apalestar (and in turn, Astarion makes Haarlep's ears bleed), and it's just so damn funny and fun. I have chaotic gremlin energy with @silvertiefling and Haarlep, which I love so damn much as well, as Haarlep still tries to fuck her constantly lol (ofc he does tho...). But I think each and every one of you that I write with gives Haarlep a unique dynamic. I think that that's what I love about writing him so much, tho, is that he's willing to be decent enough to interact with good aligned muses, and chaotic and evil enough to play with evil muses. He's REALLY flexible, and I love that.

What’s one random headcanon about your muse that people mightn’t know?

Ummmm, I think I pretty much splurge them all out whenever they come to me, LOL. Haarlep is an open book X'D You know my secret one which I will keep between us and Haarlep's potential blood :'D

Hey! That ask you answered about protective Yo Han reminded me of this gem from the script book. I don't know if you're interested in anything script-related, but in case you are, here it is. A slightly different way the scene in E3 was supposed to go, when Yo Han came to the factory and attacked the man who put a bomb in the painting. (Also, 'forced' means 'Yo Han', all translators use this word instead of his name for some reason).

Personally, I loved the "do you know who you hurt?", the madness "increasingly" filling Yo Han's eyes, and him glaring at K when he asked if this was about Ga On. I'm amazed that he got so protective of him so quickly, it's just E3. To think of what he'd do post-canon... thank God (and you, of course!) for your amazing story. I can't tell you how much I'm waiting for everything you're going to bring down on us.

I haven't gone out of my way to look for the script, no, but I do read the little snippets I might run into on Tumblr and such. So I'm not NOT interested? But also too lazy to go look for it xD

And, tbh, I don't want to accidentally mistake something that was written in the script — but then taken out — as something that actually happened in canon. I have a really good memory but I don't always remember WHERE I read/saw/heard a specific fact so there's a chance I might mistake it as a part of canon even if it's not x'D

But, all that said, I am FASCINATED by this new information, not going to lie. I think that the increasing madness was still captured pretty well in the final version, but the "Do you know who you hurt?" Oh yes, I'm into that. Because while it COULD still just mean that Yo Han is referring to himself, I like that it leaves room for speculation. Very nice.

Though, at the same time, I feel like I have to be a responsible person and point out that, most likely, the reason why Yo Han reacts so violently as early as episode 3 is probably because of Isaac, not Ga On. Like, at that point, I think Yo Han is still struggling a bit with separating the two. Not that he ever mistakes them for each other, obviously, but it's probably a little disorienting until he gets to know Ga On better and can see all the differences more clearly. So it wouldn't surprise me if some of that protectiveness is because Ga On looks like Isaac, at least this early. It brings back very bad memories, and all.

But post-canon? That protectiveness would be for Ga On only. And, as always, Yo Han would hold nothing back.

And we will be exploring that a bit in Who Holds the Devil, yes. Not quite on the level of "I'm going to bring the entire country to its knees," but hopefully still enough to satisfy everyone's need for protective Yo Han ;)

Graves was his special request when I told him I was doing these lol You say you're straight, bb, but the way you talk about some actors and fictional men makes me question that (affectionate). Today is the day! Shadow Company's mandatory participation Christmas Charity Event. Each year, Commander Graves handpicks a Santa and multiple elves to pass out gifts to the less fortunate children of San Antonio, Texas. It's always hosted at Rolling Oaks Mall, too.

"Commander Graves, sir...?" a hesitant voice calls from behind him.

"Yes?" Phil draws out the word with a charming smile. "How can I help you?" he asks as he turns.

Which Shadow is this? Toni? Tammi? Eh, oh well. She's shaking like a leaf-

"Um... Donny can't... be Santa... sir."

Oh. Oh.

Rage boils in Graves's blood and he takes a few long and deep breaths. He rolls his shoulders and runs his hand down his face.

"I'm going to do something. No one, not a single Shadow, will speak about this. Ever. If I catch even a whisper of it, I'll do you all worse than I did Vasqueros."

The Shadow nods quickly, clearly terrified.

"Now, quietly, go get me the Santa suit," Graves instructs.

Without another word, the Shadow is darting off to retrieve the Santa suit. Once they're out of sight and Graves is alone again, a smirk grows on his face.

"About time I got to wear the suit," he chuckles quietly.

Besides Donny being so hungover he can't open his eyes without rushing to the nearest toilet or garbage can, the charity event is going well! Lots of presents "delivered" to children and-

"Santa, baby, slip a sable under the tree... for me."

Phil immediately whips around to look for the source of that gorgeous voice. It doesn't take him long to find her. He knew there would be people performing on the small stage nearby all day. What he didn't expect was to hear and see the most beautiful woman he'd ever laid eyes on.

Her voice is smooth and a bit sultry, eyes a clear blue like ice, hair down and the deepest true-black Phil has ever seen as a hair color. Don't even get him started on her dress, my God-

She must have felt his eyes on her because suddenly, as she sang the line about "all the fellas she hasn't kissed", her eyes were locked on his. He's more than willing to check off her Christmas list. He would most difinitely trim her Christmas tree, too, just-

"Santa?" on of the Shadows elves whispers to him. "Santa, there's more kids waiting."

Phil clears his throat and turns back to the children with a Santa laugh.

"Well, I'm sorry, kiddos! Santa got a bit distracted," he says in his Santa voice.

"Is the Christmas Angel actually Mrs. Claus?" one of the younger children demands.

"Santa, baby, forgot to mention one little thing - a ring," the Christmas Angel - genuinely, according to the banners around her - continues singing.

Hell, she just may be Phil's new Mrs. Claus. And Phil gets what Phil wants.

"Can you keep a secret, kiddo?" Phil asks as he leans down to the child. The child, of course, nods enthusiastically. "She's the furture Mrs. Claus," he explains to the child.

The child beams up at Phil, excited to be in on the secret, before rushing off to their parents.

Not long after, Phil takes a break from being Santa. What's the first thing he does? Darts off to the nearest jewelry store in the mall. He finds a bracelet with cut gems that look similar to her eye color - Aquamarine, aoccriding to the store clerk - and immediately pays for it. He'll worry about the price much later. After the bracelet is gift-wrapped, he makes his way back towards the stage. There's only instrumental music playing over the speakers now so she must be on a break.

Perfect timing.

She's perched on the edge of the stage, legs crossed and hanging over the ledge, with her back to him as he approaches. Her head tips back as she sips from a bottle of water. Phil rounds the stage quickly and steps up next to her.

"Merry Christmas, Christmas Angel," he says to her with a smirk under the beard and gently hands her the wrapped jewelry box.

Her eyes land on the box then flash to his eyes. She looks ready to tell him off so he removes the beard - it's a downtime in the mall so there's no children running around that he'll ruin the magic for.

"Well, Kris Kringle," she smirks at him, "to what do I owe the honor of a hand-delivered gift?" Her hand delicately reaches out so her fingers slide over the box. She doesn't bother to make sure her fingers don't touch his.

"I've just come to ask Mrs. Claus why she's not at the North Pole." Phil's eyes rake over her dress, and he doesn't bother hiding that he is.

"Last I checked, Kringle," she counters with a seductive look in her eyes, "I'm your wife, not your property."

Fuuuuucking hell- think of something, Phil, or you're gonna to makes things awkward. Donny. That dumbass nearly fucked up the entire charity event and-

Had he been here, Phil wouldn't have met his new, future wife. Had Donny been in Phil's place...

Well, now he's just irritated.

"True," he chuckles. "But we could head back to the North Pole together pretty soon."

She scans his face for a moment then hums.

"Hand me your phone, Santa," she almost purrs.

He does as she asks, though, handing over his phone. As if at the speed of light, she enters her information into the phone and saves it under "Holly, the Christmas Angel". Then she hands his phone back.

"Merry Christmas, Santa," Holly winks at him then slides back so she can stand back up on the stage. Phil is left with a wink and a smirk before they're both pulled back to their stations.

2003 Raph: Summed up Raph is home, safety, and warmth wrapped in an awkward bubble that doesn’t word well but will absolutely fight for those who deserve it.

Rise Raph: An adorable puppy that I look up to when it comes to dealing with people and selflessness for the sake of others, and I would adopt him in a heartbeat and smother him with plushies because he's such a good boy.

2003 Raph:

I first watched TMNT 2003 when I was a youngish teenager I think, and I will fully admit I was a little afraid of Raph at that time 8’D I have a really bad tolerance towards anger, I get freaked out easily and afraid I’ll get hurt or yelled at even if I didn’t do anything wrong. So having Raph portrayed heavily as “the angry one” made it hard for me to get attached to him. BUT, after growing up and watching 2003 just before starting CDK I have gotten soooo attached to Raph. This guy is not “angry” all the time, he’s open, honest, and passionate. This guy is the reason the others get out of the house. He’s the reason the others live and get into the fun times. And while Mikey certainly helps with being the life of the party, Raph is also the shield of everyone who deserves it. This guy is the most dad/big bro out of the four, and while Don could probably take care of a kid the best based on technicalities, Raph is the one that would keep them safe. Raph is home. Raph is the safety net that keeps the family warm. Because while Don is the heart of the group and we know they fall apart without him, Don wouldn’t have a voice without Raph because Don is too soft to fight back when Raph will. Donnie is still my all time favorite of the TMNT 2003 boys, but just barely. If Don is 100/100 on the favorite meter, then Raph is 99/100. He kicked Leo out of the second favorite spot for me on my recent watch.

Rise Raph:My first exposure to Rise Raph was my sister sending me the scene of Raphie crying over not being able to figure out how to help his family after they’d just lost Karai, and I have to admit the only thing I thought was “oh that’s nice, Raph actually cries in this one”. And then I actually watched the show (because sis insisted I watch the movie and I knew I needed context to fully enjoy it) and omg the Rise bros (and April) have the unique case of all being just about equal in my favorites tier. But specifically about Rise Raph this boy is a puppy and also I would adopt him and his family in a heartbeat because he’s also the sweetest lil guy and so good at watching out for others without being smothering. And just like 2003 Raph, Rise Raph is the protector of the family. Not because he happens to be the biggest and therefore the tank class, but because he wants to. I think he finds comfort in others being safe - feeling safe- and having fun. He thrives off taking care of others even though he’s not perfect at it. But him not being perfect, not making the most amazing meals, not being prim and proper, maybe getting a little dirty and bending a few rules, is what makes him charming. He’s not “attempt at being the perfect parent” 2003 Leo, he’s big brother Raphie that will cuddle with you in a mound of soft teddy bears, or throw you across the room in a roughhouse depending on what you need. Sure Leo really knows how to annoy the crap out of him, but I don’t think it’s because Raph thinks Leo is irresponsible or a bad kid. It’s much more infuriating to know that someone can be amazing, but seeing them chose not to, and you don’t know how to help them see they can be so much more than they are. And it’s easy to see that regardless of any of his siblings being annoying there’s nothing they can do that will make him hesitate even slightly in helping them when they need it. I don’t think Raph became a parent to the others like some of the fandom does. I think he’s just an adorable, soft, warm teddy bear big brother that did really well in his part of the whole family keeping each other afloat.

If I had 03 Raph as my uncle and Rise Raph as my brother I would be a lot more outspoken and rather reckless because I would have the upmost confidence that they would have my back and would keep me safe.

Their first impression of your muse:

Aesop is probably on the more surprisingly approachable side of the spectrum when it comes to Lisa. Being he's more of a people pleaser, she would likely connect with that much better even if their first interaction was painfully brief--girliepop is shy :( Emma I think would have a good first experience with him too. It's... really difficult to have a bad one with her. Now whether he will appreciate her company is a whole different ballgame because she comes off STRONG. Then again, maybe that's the kind of vibes Aesop needs idk... guess we'll see~ And then Annecy. As I said with Aesop, I don't think Aesop is gonna have a bad time with him. I do think that he's more unsure of himself and more... mm it seems wishy-washy? Likely going to be irritating at first because Annecy knows what he wants and he's very straight and to the point.

Current impression:   

Lisa I think would at the very least consider him an acquaintance. I don't know if she'll be around enough to grow and maintain a proper friendship, but her outlook on him is positive rn. Emma will definitely try to keep that friendship going. He probably won't be able to differentiate between the two alters until they tell him, so it'll basically be like he's friends with Lisa anyway. Bro will probably think she's having insane mood swings. Annecy will likely end up with a neutral opinion of Aesop. I don't think they'll be besties but there are many things I think they could connect on if Lawyer Jr. over here doesn't ragequit on him.

Are they attracted to your muse?:  

Lisa? Maybe... he's a nice guy but it wouldn't go anywhere on either of their ends I'm sure. Emma? Noooo... he's too baby for her taste </3 Annecy? Not into guys sadly.

Something they find frightening about your muse:

I feel like he looks like he's constantly on edge and I feel like that would freak Lisa out. In addition to... the general Aesop stuff. Emma I don't think would find anything specifically frightening about him, and I think it'll be the same with Annecy. We'll have to see if that's true or not.

Something they find adorable about your muse:  

I had to think about this for a long time, but maybe something that Lisa finds adorable about him is how hard he tries? Like he very much goes out of his way to try and connect and that's very sweet to her. Emma similarly loves how much of a sweetheart he is, even if he does sometimes come off the wrong way. And Annecy I think would admire his professionalism and how well-spoken he is compared to some of the other survivors.

Would my muse sacrifice themselves for yours?:  

Lisa and Emma would I think, but Lisa may take some more time to warm up to him to that point. If he emoted at her in a match she'd go friendly I bet. Annecy wouldn't :( In fact in matches he'd probably consider Aesop an easy win.

Would my muse go on a date with yours?  platonic/romantic:  

Lisa? Absolutely for platonic! Maybe romantic, but again, she'd have to somehow grow a set of balls first. Emma would love a platonic date <3 And Annecy would like a platonic date, Aesop has some interesting ideas and I feel like they'd converse well.

Lisa: "Trying" Emma: Probably still "baby" let's be real... but no, maybe... "Gentleman" Annecy: "Neurotic"

Would my muse slap yours if they could?: 

None of them would! I do think Annecy would be tempted at times based on the interaction Aesop is having with Embrace X'D

Would my muse hug/kiss yours?:

Lisa would be open to it! (/ouo)/ Emma would and probably will at some point (she's v touchy). Annecy will give him a handshake. Aesop should be grateful that he'd do that much.
