BUT the snippet of Ciri in The Witcher 4 at the game awards looked awesome and got me thinking about giving it another chance bc I don’t wanna play tw4 while being totally confused about everything that preceded it so I ended up redownloading it. and my expectations were low bc it didn’t click w me back in 2022 but man….i get it now. i understand. i think getting to novigrad and doing every side quest the city threw at me was a big part of what amped up the game experience for me like oh MAN can u sink HOURS into it and never get bored

The intense and overwhelming urge to show off my ocverse has taken over

“Tamari’s Curse” everyone!! :

WARNING: This story involves a lot of death

Complete with oc art and a short video (im going insane)

Tamari’s Curse (ocverse that originated from undertale but is now placed in a ocverse with 5 kingdoms)

Ok so important context for this whole thing:

In medieval or olden Desoro (Kingdom of Night) lived a man named Amin Nimola (Which means The Cursed Enemy) who was pissed his kingdom got such a shitty superpower compared to others, and the god that gave it to them didn’t even share with everyone

But he knew the gods had blessed items that held their own power so he stole the goddess of life, Lyra’s, whistle.

Lyra was PISSED about this tho and cursed him and his bloodline to have animalistic features and let every kingdom know to not treat these people with respect snd that they were “traitors of the gods”

Okay so decades later these people have gone through generations and are more modern day rather than medieval times

Angels / Demons + How they are made

Demons: There is a forest in the kingdom Kokoya (kingdom of the moon) that is cursed with evil magics. When a human would enter it there would be a chance that the magic would change a human into a demonic being

Angels: After demons were created and began to wreak havoc on humans; the goddess Lyra took the clouds from the sky and shaped them into angels. They were then assigned to humans that would be endangered by demons or the evil magic to protect and fight for them

And our story begins with a new born baby girl with strong Desoro origins. She was a cursed baby and had cat ears, a nose, tail, and claws.

Her mother and father were haunted by a demon named Damion who had convinced them to leave their baby deep in the woods to die

Thankfully enough though a couple with an infant daughter with the same age was walking home on a old path and they saw this baby. They took her in and named her Tamari DeQuanna.

They soon grew their family more and had another daughter and a son

Tamari also had a close childhood friend at this time.

The first death :

Tamari and Jack had been tasked to go into the town to get the groceries. Tamari looked away from and lost Jack, finding him an hour later shot and dead in an alleyway

Most of the family forgave Tamari for this besides for Jana.

Jana had learned from an early age from her classmates to hate Tamari for her curse as well as teach their younger brother Jack to do the same. This split the 4 siblings in half due to Lillyana sticking up for Tamari

After Jack’s death several events occurred:

- Tamari met the demon who haunted her parents their whole lives and he was angry at her for not dying like she was supposed to so he cursed her again so that anyone she truly loved would die in her place

- Tamari met an Angel who was meant to stop her from invoking her curse through her own hands. Though, this angel constantly guilt tripped and blamed Tamari for her actions and intrusive thoughts

- Tamari met a new friend who was named T (yes just the letter). T became very close and they considered themselves sisters due to her fiance being cursed and related to Tamari

- Tamari grew up a bit and moved away from her childhood home, living now deeper in the woods

The second death :

Jana was found dead after having gone missing for several weeks (which proves that Tamari loved her even with all that childhood bullying)

Anyways more about the main characters now that Tamari is aged around 20-23

__Tamari DeQuanna__

(She/Her) Bisexual

A woman in her early 20s who had been cursed by ancestry and then by a demon. Due to the angel who tries to correct her, she moved farther away in the woods so she would never meet anyone new. Though, she still kept in contact with her friends and sister Lillyana

__Amy Cloud__

(She/They) Lesbian

Tamari’s childhood friend and secret admirer. She is crushing on the cursed woman but will never say it, due to her friend only having dated men in the past. She is a very strong woman both through will and strength.

__T Amavara__

(She/Her) Straight

T Amavara has family who worked in assassination but swore to never follow her family’s path. She instead carries a blessed book that allows communication with the dead. She uses this to go ghost hunting with her friend Ein and help spirits move on. She has a husband and a daughter.

__Storm Amavara__

(He/Him) Straight

Storm has always been a cowardly man who struggled with mental health. He will forever support his family and friends and is eternally grateful they see past his wolf features. He has a sister fun fact.

__V Amavara__

(She/Her) 4 years old so nah

T and Storm’s young daughter. Her favorite activities are baking and gardening with her auntie Tamari, coloring, and playing with “other puppies”. She is a cursed child and inherited her father’s wolf features.

__Lillyanna DeQuanna__

(They/She) Aro Ace

Lillyana takes pride in teaching about how “The Cursed Ones” are not “Traitors of Gods” and are innocent for their ancestors actions. She has become popular online for this and refuses to let anyone stay uninformed for long, what they do with their knowledge will be their own doing.

__Damion__

(Any) Straight

The demon of the hour everyone! He is a shapeshifter who can take on any form, though she prefers human for fulfilling “promises” and their original form for comfort. He is a very bad person and will rub salt in Tamari’s wounds by shaping himself into her dead loved ones. Fell in love with an angel. He also used to be human but that’s like a whole other story

__Angela__

(It/She) Aro Ace

She would never love him back. She was tasked by the gods to watch over Tamari due to Damion haunting her. She fights him off with her glowing spear and makes sure he never possesses her to do anything herself, though her methods are awful. She used to be assigned to another kid who was haunted by demons but the demons killed her. She is terrified the same will happen with Tamari.

Okay back to the story story

The third Death :

T had asked Tamari if V could stay for the day while she went to her work to help spirits move on. Storm was spending the day with his friends so Tamari agreed and took V to her cottage in the woods.

When it was time for Tamari to return V they walked inside the home

V then ran into her mothers room and found her body, shot with an arrow. Her mother’s past finally caught up to her.

Storm was devastated through this loss and was unable to care for V anymore, not even himself. So he sent V to live with her aunt full time

And since Tamari’s family and friend haunts her, she’ll randomly ask about Jack lore and Tamari would be like. “I never told you that. Or anyone. Wtf”

Anyways

The fourth (and final) death :

Amy was done with her internal monologue. She was tired of crushing on Tamari without saying a word. It was getting in the way of her life and interests and all. So she prayed to her gods and made her way to Tamari’s cottage

But the gods were not in her favor that day. She tripped and hit her head on a walk, dying soon after

She never got to confess to her childhood friend.

The end of the curse

About a month or so after Amy’s death Angela had enough of this curse and enough of having people suffer by Damion’s hand.

She took her angelic spear and fought a long and tiring battle with Damion, killing him in the end. Without Damion the curse could no longer continue and Tamari was free to live peacefully now..

The last shape Damion ever held was how he looked before the forest forever changed him.

My brain just beamed me thoughts of my childhood anime and the realization that the moment I noticed how much I like Inuyasha's dynamic with Sango a lot more, they would've turned out to be my very first rarepair but alas... It instead became the catalyst of me finally losing my hyperfixation of 10 years on it.

welp here we go-

I kinda hyperfixated on the coffee shop au for a bit and put my silly little mad scientist goober there so I'm gonna ramble about her now

So in the au Syi actually gets caught in the act (said act being murder) and is labeled as a Rouge AI that must be terminated and if she wants to keep her steel head (and organic heart) she has to go into hiding sewing herself a felt "human suit" and (failing at) blending in with the small town of subcon

Basically she's just ZIM an obvious non-human doing an awful job at blending in as a human

But since she's a robot that was built with the purpose of working in scientific field she has the ability to scan any living organism for information on their vitals, DNA, species, etc and after wandering into a small local coffee shop she finds a "specimen" she's never seen before

They look perfectly human but their biology is all over the place

And in that moment the mad scientist goals and personality that were completely covered up by the need to stay human shatter and after wandering the woods at night, encountering The Subcon Snatcher, and seeing that the data matches up she stops pretending to be a normal human all together

At this point shes a cartoon villian she can be a threat but it doesn't take more than five minutes to send her flying back to the abandoned warehouse she calls her "lab" and she won't try again for like 2 weeks even a month sometimes

And the themes of isolation, loneliness and the search for connection. And cool mechas. :) There was many iconic screenshots I would have wanted to draw too but I really want to get this out and move on with my hyperfixations. Hopefully : D

Well, I would say Wukong, but here comes the question: a Stone Monkey, born from a stone, would be able to reproduce themself? Last song: At the moment, I have "Losing Your Memory" by Alan Star stuck in my head, which I suppose makes it my current song, not my last song. Hm. I get songs stuck in my head very easily, but the last one I had there for a significant amount of time was a mashup of different language versions of "Les Rois du Monde" for about a week. "Lehetsz Király", the Magyar version, is probably my favorite of them. It's worth a listen.

Currently watching: Normally, the answer would be "random mostly terrible old movies/shows" or "nothing much", but I currently have a hyperfixation on the musical Roméo et Juliette and have been watching it in multiple languages. (Thus, the song).

Three ships: This is hard. Maybe as a result of being on the ace and aro spectrums, I'm more likely to care about which characters are interacting than whether it's romantic or platonic. Here goes:

Kedivere/Bedikay. It can be romantic, platonic, or queerplatonic, but whichever way, I'm here for it. I probably spend too much time thinking about how in Cullwch and Olwen, when Cai gets mad at Arthur and marches out, Bedwyr stays behind, keeps acting like nothing's happened, and isn't the one to avenge Cai's death. The feeling of betrayal on both sides has a lot of unexplored potential. And the version where Bedivere dies and Kay fights to bring his body back safely while mortally wounded himself... And the version where Bedivere survives Camlann and Kay isn't said to fight in it, so they might be left together after their world has fallen apart...

Platonically or queerplatonically, Galahad and the Grail Heroine. I really like the tragic Grail Quest friendships, but I like theirs most, maybe because there's something weird and otherworldly about them both. I like it when characters are strange and endearing and doomed by the narrative.

Ever since reading John Matthews' retelling, which I read before the original, I've had a soft spot for Caradoc and Guinier. The Story of Caradoc is very disturbing, and I have some major qualms with Caradoc over a detail Matthews cut out, but all the same, there's a reason these two have the best track record with magical fidelity tests. Each of them would go to the ends of the earth for the other, and together, they're stronger than any curse.

Favorite Color: Blue, particularly royal blue and some teals.

Currently consuming: Black licorice with chocolate.

First ship: This is a hard one, since through elementary and most of middle school, I tended to go along with whatever I thought the author's intentions were and was more likely to unship something. The first non-endgame ship I got invested in was Sonya/Nikolai in War and Peace. I didn't like Nikolai, but Sonya did, and she was my favorite character, so I wanted her to be happy. The first non-canon couple I thought was meant to be together was also in War and Peace: Marya Bolkonskaya and Julie Karagina. My eighth grade self did not think their letters could be interpreted platonically. I still don't.

Last movie: If the musical doesn't count, the last movie I watched was Quest for Camelot, which was awful. Though not Robot Monster-level bad, Robot Monster has an elegance to its simplicity which Quest for Camelot lacks.

Currently working on: Various fics, most of them Arthuriana or CotRK-related (I am woefully behind on the Badfic Bingo), and (theoretically) an epic-style poem, though I haven't gotten much of it written for quite a while now.
