Read Right to Left (Manga Format)

I have returned to watching demon slayer after a year and it came up while I was having a serious late night talk with my big sister. I was talking about the relationship between Michikatsu/Kokushibo and Yoriichi and it turns out we both see each other in Yoriichi's shoes and ourselves in Michikatsu's place. Definitely surprising, but really relieving to know that we both worry too much and we are not so far apart in skill as we believe.

This is technically the first piece of fanart I've ever made for the characters in Demon Slayer, I have made OCs before but I never drew an actual character from the story. For context this is mostly just a fun "what if" scenario with them meeting in the afterlife. I like to think Yoriichi's love would reawaken Michikatsu's humanity.

Only once he plummeted from Heaven, agonizingly devoured by his own fire, did he realize how deeply, irrevocably wrong he had been. He never believed God could hate, and now he was the subject of his unmitigated wrath with the angels he had dragged down with him. Here, in a last plea for mercy, he reaches out not to God in his perfect hatred, but to his fellow angels, that they might deliver him from such evil. Soon after, however, he would be cast down to Hell with all his followers, with only Michael coming to bind him.

So from left to right

Dream is a golden colored koi carp fish, I picked it because they are very pretty and they represent a lot of positive things like luck and fortune, some people even wish on them to make their dreams come true :> I also thought of the legend where a golden koi fish climbs a large waterfall to turn into a dragon, so they have some mythical legends as well. In terms of the actual fish, Koi are very sociable and sturdy, they also live for quite awhile.

Nightmare is a coelacanth, he should probably be an octopus considering he has tentacles, but I really wanted to make him a coelacanth because I think they are neat. Coelacanth's are very old with the latest fossils being over 400 million years old, they were thought to be extinct until one was found in 1938, grandpa nightmare. They are also nocturnal, sleeping in caves during the day, they live deep in the ocean as well. 

Fresh is actually a two in one, he is a rainbow parrotfish with a tongue-eating louse in his mouth. Out of alI the bright fish I did a parrotfish because I really like their gradients, and I think the magenta fins fit his jacket. He's a parasite inside of a Sans body, so I picked a fish parasite to go along with the fish half of his body. I chose the tongue-eating louse, a type of parasite that replaces a fish's tongue. It first severs the blood vessels to the tongue and once it falls off takes its place. feeding on nutrients and acting as a new tongue for the rest of the fish's life, very cool and terrifying.

i will never get over how FusionFall put those two together to be in a tutorial introduction, because they were both 'cool kids' of that era, but objectively Ben10 is a dorky overly dramatic cool kinda vibe while Numbuh 5 is just the coolest kid on the block but is chill about it vibe. they would indeed make a fun battle team-up

also why tf Ben just fistfights his way out of his battles when his watch aint working, use a bazooka or smth dude smh

I hadn't noticed that Inumaki has fangs until very recently. I'm definitely not the most observant person tbh. In JJK vol. 0 his fangs were OBVIOUSLY there like how the fuck did I miss that

I haven't read vol. 0, I've only watched the movie, but I have seen pictures, so I still should have noticed it. For some reason they just didn't add them?? I guess they thought he looks better without them, but still they took something that adds up to his uniqueness away from him #FuckYouMAPPA. Although in the movie he looks way more handsome, I gotta give them that

Now let's talk about the main series and manga. In the manga, Gege just?? Has them removed them in some panels and visible but way more subtle in others?? Maybe he too thought this way he's better

In the anime, as we know, they're non-existent (🙄), expect in a few scenes where they are noticeable but very subtle again.

Considering that in the JJK fanboook it's said that Maki's hair-length changes depending on how Gege feels like drawing her at the moment, and he's said that something changes about other characters depending on how he feels too (I don't remember what exactly or who he said that for, forgive me guys), it is not surprising. Anyhow, it's disappointing :( his fangs are so cool like oh my god, now that I'm finally aware of their existence I'm so obsessed. We won't see much of him in S3 so there's no hope of that changing. And he doesn't have them in any fanart either, which means is that there are artists that prefer him without his fangs too but I think it's way more likely that they haven't noticed them either. We can't change the world but we can change ourselves! Let's make it our duty to spread awareness!! 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
