Out here just giving myself a headache by looping the same song in two different languages for several hours.

now that i've hit the place where i just go "i don't wanna look at this rn" when trying to edit GOM i am going to try to continue writing gom again for the latest chapter LMAO

oh, btw not all of my fixes to these chapters are live yet i am planning on replacing the texts later and i'm just correcting them on the main document i have atm. i still need to go back and read the first chapters anyway (cuz i read from like ch 6 or something not from 1 like the adhd lad i am) so i have a lot of stuff left to correct still.

the main problem i keep getting is actually formatting! i had stuff formatted with italics a while back and something kept happening to my original file and so a lot of the inquiry stuff kept reverting to normal text- making it look like someone who wasn't wwx was talking or the lan zhan stuff that was italicized wasn't for inquiry which is ugh, i just don't get why it was happening.

i recently fixed this by pasting the entire fic into a new doc and fixing those errors but there are still some in the ao3 chapters which i forgot to fix (until today, bc i read on ao3 instead of my document so i could see which errors had to be fixed or were already fixed).

i have so much of the final empathy sessions stuck in my head, it is a good idea to write GOM's update to get to it quicker before it eats me alivE cuz i am just so ready, it's basically the first climax of GOM. [first climax you say? the whole purpose of a story is to build up to one climax... well i don't know, it's got more impact than the climax of the ghost section of the fic for me but it's nowhere near the end of the fic, so i honestly consider it a big part of the fic and i dunno how else to call it...]

Gonna talk about my favorite song (Android Girl) as my favorite ship ever (Matsunashi) dont mind me (I need it, my life has been HELL this past week)

Im going to do my fave Eng cover lyrics first, then im gonna pull the two choruses and the second verse from the official eng translation. Also im gonna look at this song from the perspective of my boy Yasuke.

I feel like this is a FANTASTIC beginning, not only for the actual song, but to establish Matsushima. They were each others WORLD, they wanted to live their entire life with the other. But its also that give and take. They sacrifice so much of themselves for the other and they still feel unbalanced, especially with how Yasuke constantly feels used but acknowledges that Junko was always there when nobody else was. This also gives Yasuke the need to keep Ryoko at arms length, unsuccessfully.

[hurting me, hurting you, over and over

we said we would stop, but it was all talk, a lie to one another

we hide the truth with wordplay and rhyme

a secret language you won't get just by looking into our eyes]

This truly represents both Yasuke's constant cruel words, and sometimes actions, but also Junko's need to inflict despair onto the ones she loves. But at the same time, its their game. Its their way of communicating with one another. Yasuke says that it took up until the tragedy to realize how obsessed with despair Junko actually was, and to me that reads as though he viewed her inflicting despair onto him like how he inflicts cruel words onto her. He never truly means those things, and he thought Junko didn’t either. Its their secret game, their language.

Not much here, but I definitely see this as Yasuke realizing that their love is no way healthy, and he wants her to recognize that. Even though they will never do anything to fix it.

Yasuke losing his mind by the end of Dr0, all thanks to Junko (AKA Android Girl). By the end, he literally feels like he never knew her and that she was just using him for her own benefit. Even when all HIS feelings were genuine. He spent most of his life truly believing that Junko loved him, and that belief is totally shattered by the time he dies.

we restart, we fall apart together, what we have will drag on in this way forever!]

I see the first lyric both as how long has Yasuke loved her, but also how long has he hated her. I can see him asking himself when resentment began to grow and how did he manage to love a person like Junko. The kiss line also will forever remind me of the kiss scene between them, and how she uses poison in her lipstick to paralyze him. The last line, i personally prefer the translated ver, but the way Yasuke keeps trying to save both Junko AND their relationship. They are stuck in the loop of give and take. And Yasuke just wants the old her back. He wants to restart with Ryoko.

Yasuke being the little shit he is and refusing genuine affection. He keeps pushing people away, but he knows Junko can see past this, so he has no incentive to stop. Having your own mother forget and start to hate you has GOT to affect your self esteem in some way, and his constant isolation is a clear sign of that.

I see this as him regretting both the things he did to protect Junko, but also him betraying her by keeping her as Ryoko. He’s extremely pessimistic and constantly worries about everything, he cant just forget about everything and start living a normal life with her. Also the fact they it isn’t over, he still has things to cover up for Junko, loose ends to tie. The last line, Junko literally promised that they would be together forever, but i find it so fascinating that he only refers to Ryoko as either his patient or his acquaintance. Despite Ryoko calling him her friend.

Yasuke wondering if he should allow himself to get close to Ryoko, to indulge in the old Junko he had practically lost to time. And him wondering if he will feel the same with Ryoko as he did with Junko. He’s constantly struggling to keep her away but to also protect her, he doesn’t know what HE wants from this.

That second lyric fits soooo well. He will always be Junko's, even after shes gone, but him wondering if she even loved him to begin with, or was she just pretending. At the end, he truly believes that he had been lied to his entire life, and she never gave a damn about him.

The rest of the lyrics repeat the two choruses, but there is a lil something.

Yasuke hating Junko so much in the end, that he kills her for his own sake. Even though he still loves and cares for her, he cant keep going on, so he tries to end it. He doesn’t want to let get, but he has to.

God this song KILLS me. Now time for the translations.

Ryoko was truly "his", but there where times he couldn’t tell what was Junko and what was Ryoko. He didnt know who she was at the beginning of chp 3, still cautious that it was Junko. He wanted no part of her to remain in Ryoko.

I prefer this last lyric over the other, mainly because its exactly what he’s doing. He’s rebooting her, over and over. But it wont change anything, no matter how hard he tries. I feel like it encapsulates his motivation sooo well.

Nothing much, but I love how this one feels more stuck in the past. Yasuke just wants THAT Junko back, they one who made everything ok. He wants to go back to the days where he could believe that.

Nothing much again, but the line change is VERY different. I do sees this as Yasuke thinking back to all the times she needed him and wondering if it was because he was the only one there and thats the only reason she did. Do like the change, but this also keeps the robotic theme with Android girl, that works well with Junko

My emotions: the song as a whole embodies the lyrics, it has this very floaty kind of sound that isn't quite text painting but it's the best way I can describe it

Listening to IOMT after the first 2 tracks is the way to go; the chorus backtrack is pretty laid back even with the strings and percussions so it might otherwise be jarring when the chorus starts (sorry if I get terms wrong, I don't know music production)

According to personal taste, this song is easily #2 in the ranks

"I'll walk into these flames if it's with you": obsessive love? I liked "Desire" from TREASURE: EP 2 so this is right up my alley

Both songs have very similar imagery in their lyrics as well 

The doubling/unison during the chorus- especially for "I got no way"- makes me so happy!! The fullness pushes the themes of yearning/a crazy kind of love

Interestingly for “I got no way”, the song builds right before with the rap section, and right after they hit us with “I got no way”, the beat drops and the chorus comes through

Selfish Waltz

Honestly, I was itching for someone to do a pair dance to this ever since I saw “GH pt. 2 Preview” and now I'm even more convinced 

Searching up the meaning of waltz (“to roll or revolve”), the song is about a love that feels like a war because the relationship seems to never go anywhere since they keep circling back to arguing even when they say they love each other

Smart Bricker is so important to me! Especially because my thing with the Applebees siblings is they all have at least some level of ADHD in different ways. His thoughts truly run a mile a minute there is always at least 5 things ticking around in his head. Helio gave him ADHD because he knew if he didn't Bricker would lock in so hard he'd ascend to godhood /lh. He also made Bricker grow up in a racist church because he knew if he ever linked up with Adaine and Riz nothing would ever have stakes ever because they'd have it solved like that. Give king like one Fantasy Adderall and he's so focused you're not hearing from him for days.

And like, his siblings know he's fiercely smart as well like he's on Kristen's list of the smartest people she knows. Like she fully believes (though she'd never say this to him because that's embarrassing) no matter what he wants to do with life he can do it because he has the brains for it.

The converse is that if he has no interest in something he does not even pretend to GAF. Like everyone thinks he's bad at like, math because he doesn't try at it but its like he helps C with his homework a lot and he's fine. He just doesn't like math so he sees no reason to bother. Like yknow that kid in the back of the classroom who says ''Miss when are we ever gonna need this in life??'' That's him but 1. He keeps that to himself and 2. He thinks that about math in general. He completely genuinely sees no practical application for math in life.

Arguably him being smart is what enables him to be such a smartass. He's truly that one Mulaney bit that's like ''13 year olds are the meanest people in the world because 13 year olds will make fun of you but in an accurate way, they will get to the thing you don't like about you without even looking at you for long.''

And also as a fun tidbit. I agree he's definitely gay and you'll hate me for this one but his awakening was definitely Ricky Martin. I know he watched the Livin La Vida Loca music video on loop, because he ''liked the song''. Pre-Aguefort Kristen who didn't yet know what a gay person was thought it was just because he appreciated Ricky as an artist. It was not. She figured it out a few months after starting Aguefort but decided to let him realise it first and come to her.

the ricky martin thing is killig me so so much. literally he is obsessed with him but does not get it until he Gets It and. slightly life shattering what do you mean he just likes ricky martin the average amount (no one has had to guts to tell him the average amount is so low)

he has so little interest in the things he has qualified as unimportant. literally what do you mean he is going to use the quadratic formula? magic exists that is dumb and he doesn't care (does he know the whole formula and how to do it but just refuses to cuz it's boring? absolutly). he's one of those kids that is really good at getting the class off topic but the teachers are too charmed by him to stop it which is also. so annoying to his siblings cuz by god do adults like bricker and he doesn't get in trouble for anything cuz of it.

also dude. ur so absolutely right if him and adaine and riz all got together they would truly be such an unstoppable force it's just the issue that he's still dealing with how to be normal around other races cuz he has been so programmed with fucked up info and adiane and riz both have such a low tolerence of tweens. aelwyn can take the scathing jabs cuz she can she come right back at him but riz and adaine are morally conflicted over being mean to a 13 year old which. skill issue on thier part.

When I said I was a sucker for songs with stories and symbolism and themes behind them I wasn't kidding especially when they discuss more morbid and unnerving topics to be honest anything produced by biz is bound to be something I enjoy their whole "love it" track has been my absolute favorite of all time I love the way their are actual stories behind their songs like a whole narrative and characters you can dissect especially with the songs their releasing the lyrics exploring more dark and twisted relationships unhealthy on both sides (so far we have yet to see what they publish next and it may be something different that sticks out from the theme cause so far all the songs released in the "love it" track talk about a relationship where both parties involved are unhealthy and toxic and unhinged in some way shape or form) exploring a completely complicated web of love and toxicity all while being absolute bangers back to back overall I absolutely suggest biz as an artist if you enjoy songs talking about fucked up relationships and dynamics like their is so much nuance and analysis you can do on each song and the characters presented in each song that it keeps me coming back to them (this has honestly just divulged into me shamelessly trying to get other people to listen to this artist but let me tell you something they are super underrated in my opinion and more people need to talk about them)

I love this song so much I was introduced to Frank Sinatra by my Father and have ever since become a huge fan of him it just gives such wonderful vibes Frank Sinatra is in my all time favorite artists

5sos5, my tragic love baby, we start it out so strong with complete mess, first self-produced song and first song we heard that was written by the four of them and only the four of them, all of them singing, a recognizable guitar riff, that classic 5sos song structure with a 4 chord melody where the song builds up until it drops at the bridge and comes back to finish it off strong with the last chorus, also "I ask no questions as your colors take their hold as my darkness turns to gold inside"?????? Then we move on to easy for you to say, they wrote all that we just let them get away with it, I'm scared to find a piece of peace of mind has haunted me since I heard it for the first time in a shaky Instagram live from the Dublin show, obsessed with the lyrics of this song, I think lyrically it really shows how good they are as songwriters, but this song is also my controversial opinion of the album because there's something in the production of it that deeply bothers me (sorry Michael, I love you) so it's the song I listen to the least, I'm still listening the live cut from the tour diary. Then we go to Bad Omens, I will never accept the fact that that song is not everywhere. I think it's flawless, the way the intro matches the outro so you can get caught in the same loop of going around again that the lyrics are talking about, and that's something that's a trend with them, they exaggerate the lyrics with the production and I think bad omens is the best example of it, I'm particularly obsessed with the way the chorus makes you expect a high note after the somebody, so when we get to the outro we expect the last somebody to be followed by a high else, but they actually drop the note, because nothing is ending in a high note here, not the relationship, not the song. Flawless vocals, flawless melody, flawless production, not a single wrong decision was made with this song. Then we have me myself and I, I think is so much fun, I think they made the perfect pop song, you have simple lyrics that are just repeating, and the way the song is structured it kinda feels like it's just one chorus that keeps going and going and since the song actually ends not only in the middle of the sentence but also in the middle of the progression in the guitar, you kinda feel this need to loop it, I know most people didn't get it when Ashton said that this song was very sgfg, but this song is so sgfg if sgfg was more pop than it is, the way its 4 chords in a guitar that just loops, the way it builds around that riff, the way the drums only come in in the second verse, the way it goes, goes, then just drops before coming back, the outro with the repetition, it's all very vapor of them in my opinion lol. Then we have take my hand, the way Luke wrote it alone and they managed to make it sound like a 5sos song is actually such a good example of how well they work with each other as musicians, because, yes, you can feel Luke's influence deeply in the song, but you can hear them all in it. Also, Luke Hemmings the songwriter you are, I can't quote anything because I would just write the whole song. One of their strongest bridges, amazing song all around.

Then we get to carousel, I don't know if anyone else remembers this but Ashton said that you just need 2 chords to make a great song, and this song technically has 4, but in the verses, they're actually going back and forth with 2, and I think that's such a good way to give you that feeling of spinning that comes with a carousel when paired with the drums, also I feel like this song is the first of many in the album where Luke flexing his vocal range lol, dude starts on his lower register, pulls some high notes and the whole time you're just like *Ashton's voice* you got an epic voice bro. Also, the symbolism of the lyrics drives me a bit crazy. And the way the song drops but never picks back up because you're on a one-way ride and there's no going back, INSANE. Also, Youtube countdown outro my beloved <3. Then we get to the most controversial song on the album. Personally, I think older is a good song, I would've put it as a deluxe track and put moodswings here instead but mostly because moodswings fits the tragic love narrative of the rest of the standard album in a way older doesn't. Love the piano, love the way Luke's voice goes with Sierra's, beautiful song but it feels out of place when you look at the rest of the album. My dear devoted delicate <3. Then Haze. Let's ignore the emotional whiplash of going from a piano ballad to it. I'm actually obsessed when 5sos goes 80s pop, it's a song that makes you want to move. It gives you that very pop feeling while being completely built around a guitar riff, so it's a very pop vibe but it exists around their strength, also Ashton is singing so it is a win in my books lol "when I lived between the bars" <33333333 . And the fact that all of them have production credits on it makes me all !!!!! Then you don't go to parties. I'm in a ydgtp mood so this may be very biased toward it. I love that the verses are built around the bass but the chorus is built around a guitar riff. I'm obsessed with everything about it, the little synth noises thrown all around, Calum playing with his lower register, the drums, Ashton's verse, everything really. Lost my limit cause I'm dumb and I'm passionate. I'm particularly obsessed with how many ways you can interpret the lyrics. Maybe he's looking for someone, maybe the someone he's looking is his old self, maybe he just wants out from his own head. Amazing, incredible, did something to my brain when I first heard it. Then blender, my beloved. LOVE when they make a song around the bass riff. Obsessed with the use of a blender as a metaphor for the cycle they're trapped in, because a blender spins things around while chopping them up, so no cycle is without consequence. Another song Luke is just flexing how good of a vocalist he is. Everything about it feels dramatic, the chorus sang in one breath, the imagery the lyrics are painting, the way the song starts and ends with Luke singing so no intro or outro to get you out of the cycle. Mandatory moment of appreciation for time stamp 1:37 <3.

Then we have caramel. I will never get over this song. It fundamentally changed me as a person. From the sigh in the beginning to the riff at the end. Ashton lower harmonies in the first verse, Luke's voice sounding almost dreamy while the lyrics are talking about getting back to something and how it gets sharper as the song goes and the lyrics start to give you the idea that maybe there's no saving this one. I know it well, caramel, I feel the comedown. I don't know about yall but every time I hear the second verse of this song I want to drop to my knees and scream (and I have on occasion lol). I don't think they made a single wrong choice with this song, from lyrics to production. Love like a landslide, I kiss you goodnight and the implications of the goodnight in a song about fighting for something that you know is doomed because they could've very easily made that love like a landslide I kiss you goodnight, love like a landslide I kiss you goodbye and imply that they are leaving this thing they know they can't save, but no, the love is going down and they are going down with it. Then they just spin you around with best friends. Love that this is a 2 chords lets have FUN song. I love my best friends, they love me, I will hold on to this feeling as long as I can. Michael verse <3333333333. Absolutely obsessed with how they just wrote a song about friendship. Love how this is a song that I can see every era of them playing and just goofing around on stage. Then we have Bleach. Way to put you back in the emotional blender. Again, Luke flexing his range. Lower Calum, Michael verse. You know how I said they sometimes exaggerate the lyrics with the melody? This song has water sounds (I can't determine if Michael actually added waterlike sounds or if he added a waterlike effect to the slides sounds you can get when you switch chords in a guitar) and with a good enough headphone, there's actually a whole layer of harmonies in it that sound like they are playing somewhere with a lower refraction rate than air, like water. It's so hard to watch everything I want, everything I was spinning down the drain. Multitasking 🥺. I do wanna know if this song was the soundtrack to more people impulse changing their hair color because the amount of times I bleached my hair while this song was playing since it came out is a bit alarming. Perfect soundtrack for those of us who dye hair as a bad coping mechanism lol. Then we have red line. I'm definitely biased about this one. This is one of my favorite songs ever. Definitely my favorite on the album. The way they play with the imagery of waiting in a train in it fascinates me, from the oohs that sound like the notes of a train whistle, the synth that sounds like the sound you get when there are station announcements, the echos that sound like the ambient sound you would hear waiting for a train, to the literal train doors closing as the song ends. The lyrics that leaves you wondering if they are waiting for the train to come or for someone to join them on the train they are. The implication of not being welcome anymore. I want back in, but I can't. I would love an acoustic version of it and I think more people would like it if it had a more stripped production, but seriously this song is everything to me. And what a way to end the album when you consider the bird sounds in the beginning of complete mess, to finish it with a door closing. Michael Clifford the producer you are.

Then we have the bonus tracks. They put you in the emotional blender going back and forth with sad songs, lets dance songs. I want whatever Michael put in moodswings so I can inject it pure into my bloodstream. The most Luke flexing his range Luke could get lol (they're not playing this song because they can't change the key or else the rest of the song would be too low but the chorus is too high for Luke to sing every night and I will die on this hill lol). The epitome of I have an anxious attachment style but I am in a long-distance relationship. I love a good reminder of how well all of their voices go with each other. Obsessed with the way they exaggerated the breaths in the bridge, the random piano sounds. Also, do something for me, put moodswings, queue bleach, change the crossfade to 12 seconds, then sit back and enjoy. Then we have a nice little 180 twist because going from moodswings to flatline gets me like that gif with the girls dancing while crying lol. I don't care what Ashton said, I still hear Calum lol. But their harmony game is insane and I think that that chorus has a shitton of layers and that's what keeps us all guessing about who's singing. Anyway, this song makes me want to sit them all down and discuss their range because that shit is HIGH. Again, love me some pop vibes. Sometimes you just wanna dance to a song about falling so hard you feel like your heart is gonna stop. Then we have emotions. Criminally underrated song. Obsessed with the way Michael is singing about anxiety on top of a guitar riff that counts in a self-soothing pattern, I think that's legit genius of him. The way he's harmonizing with himself too, like, he said MY SONG and meant it. I'm doing my best and I guess that's the best I can do. I think this song follows the malum pattern while writing songs together because they have a tendency of repeating sounds more frequently than you would expect, kinda as if they made a list of words that rhyme and tried to put them as often as possible. I'm also obsessed with how low the song is because I think we as a society talk about hitting high notes all the time, but a lower song can be real impressive if you give it a chance. Bloodhound. Forever mad I didn't get visuals of Michael's "he sunk his teeth into the bone" but I can see Ashton arguing against this song because the crowd would clap wrong during the bridge and he wouldn't be able to move past it oksaaoska. Fun song, gotta be honest tho, the lyrics confused the shit out of me for a while there. I do love the beat in this, the combination of the bass and the drums and that thing in the back that sounds like Ashton is banging his drumsticks together. Then we have tears. Anything that has Ashton singing is a win in my books. Obsessed with the imagery in it. There's a hole in the sun caving in and I feel it. Burn the words to start over. Diamonds turn to puddles. Tears hitting the ground, Fears pulling me down. Cashton do know how to make a song. I think if you're going back and forth with a duo in the band, Calum and Ashton create a real nice effect. The rhythm section really popped off with that one. Love how you get double the Ashton influence with how heavily it goes around the drums.

The new vocal coach was an amazing choice, Michael is an amazing producer, lyrically they excelled themselves, really shows off all of their strengths 1000000000/10 best 5sos album and we all know it.

OM! Brothers and What Genre of Music I Think They Listen To

a/n: This idea has been on my head for the past week! Feel free to share what songs/genre/artist they listen to :))

Lucifer:

Classical music

Rock music

Since most of the time when he is listening to music classical music would be for when he really needs to focus. He doesn't listens to songs with singing in them since it distracts him from what he is doing. He sticks to the plain instrumentals.

He listens to rock music when he needs to stay awake or just needs a brain break with a good stretch. Late into the night you can hear a faint rumble coming from his room.

Mammon:

R&B

He listens to about anything that comes on the radio. Since most of the songs, on some radio stations, is pop he is more drawn towards that. He may even be caught singing these songs.

When he changes the radio station its always to a rap or R&B station. He loves the vibes and lyrics that go into it. He may or may not have tried to right a few rap songs himself.

His music taste mainly comes from the media he consumes. Since he always has his headphones on he is always listening to music, which he has on full blast so you can sometimes hear what he's listening to.

What ever anime he is obsessed at the time most of his songs he listens to will be from that. He listens to direct songs from the anime to fan made songs about it.

Music the theme of the book he's reading.

Just like Lucifer he listens to classical music while he reads or works. Once he put on classical music it is easy for him to get lost in what he is doing. As the music plays in his room he finishes book after book.

To get into the world of the book he is reading he tends to listen to songs that resemble it. It could be anywhere from pop romance songs to folk songs. He has a broad taste in music.

K-Pop

This mans job is to stay on the trends. He listens to any song thats trending on Devilgram. When a new son starts trending he immediately adds it to his playlist and has it on loop just so he can learn the lyrics.

He doesn't want to admit it but he does listen to K-pop, mainly because Leviathan would freak out. He mainly listens to girls groups and knows all the words to each song! He sometimes hums the tune while he's doing things around the house.

Rock

When he first started working out he needed a new work out playlist. Since most of the ones already made had hip hop and rock music in it it became what he listened to. He likes the way it gives him a boost while working out.

He has started listening to more hip hop outside of working out... it helps him not to think of food as much.

To his surprise one day he woke up to heavy drumming and clanging happening. He wouldn't stop listening and so became his love for alternative music. He loves how when he falls asleep he doesn't know what he could wake up to.

Along with alternative music he enjoys heavy metal the same way. Just the rush of not knowing what you'd wake up to makes him keep going back to that genre.

One of my favorite songs of all time is I Bet on Losing Dogs by Mitski, which I requested a long time ago for Paper Men’s playlist because it reminds me so much of Evelyn and Henry (thank you for adding btw!). But I’ve been listening to it again and Paper Men has been on my mind constantly and I just wanted to share why it reminded me of them. The song, in my interpretation, is a metaphor for placing hopes and expectations in relationships that are doomed to fail or with people too damaged to love one back the way they want/need. The way I’ve come to see it, Evelyn (like Mitski) seems to know that it will inevitably end badly, but consciously pursues it anyways. She wants them to let her keep believing they’re going to work out or they’ll love her back one day. It’s sad and beautiful and relatable. I feel like this could also apply to Evelyn and Victor (who I hope are endgame despite my Patrick obsession). Again, this is simply my interpretation and I’ve been reading Paper Men while this song plays on a loop lol. Thank you for creating such a beautiful story, I’m excited for chapter 31!

Omg I've been listening to that song while writing this chapter, particularly the Evelyn-Henry scenes (I'm reworking a few of Henry's scenes to better set up what I have planned for Mr. Hockstetter).

I absolutely love this song and I completely agree with your interpretation and how it applies to Evelyn and Henry's relationship. She's so emotionally invested in him and his struggle. She's willing to stand by his side through everything, even the ugliest things. She lets him dump all of his emotional baggage on her. She lets him use her as his punching bag whenever he's angry (and, of course, I mean this figuratively, not literally; Henry wasn't physically abusing her). She puts herself through so much for him because she loves him and wants better for him and hopes with all her heart that one day things will get better. And I think this is the first time she's seeing how hopeless this all is and how much she's hurting herself by staying in this relationship.

Even with everything that's happened, she still doesn't want to let him go. In fact, she's probably searching for any reason not to.

It's a lot different than her relationship with Victor (even though I agree the song could apply to him as well). She had an easier time separating from him romantically because Vic never let her get that close to him. He would be kind to her occasionally, but he was always very good at keeping his distance. Because of that, Evelyn's feelings never evolved past the puppy love/childhood crush stage. She still cares about him as a friend, but... Vic made her wait too long.

Year in Review, 2022

I actually made a couple of these, because it was hard deciding what really encompassed my year. The version above is the one with my Aesthetic version, which has the pieces I think were the prettiest or most aesthetically pleasing ones I did for that month.

January

I spent most of January coming off the end of IR and DMP, and as such I had a lot of. Juniper, Dorkus, and Angie on the brain. I actually made a few of these little comics. >:0 Dorkus is one of my favourite expressions I’ve done in a long time, and it lives in my army of Discord emotes haha.

This kind of WAS my meme for the month, my favourite thing overall.

February

This piece is actually part of a set that I did on stream! It’s part of a set. Keep this artstyle in mind, it will come back later!

Was still drawing Triad Shenanigans this month. I just wanted to share Discount Chocolate Dorkus.

Despite what it may seem like, I actually spent this month planning Tiny Gents! I made headshots for every important NPC for the first oneshot I ran ever in my life. Very shaky knees, but everything went well!!

I have no idea what came over me for this one I just went as feral as Barbeau haha. This HAD to be when we were talking about doing a certain DnD game, but the DM and players have been so busy all year we never played. Maybe 2023 is the year Barbeau comes into fruition??

Not the full comic and no Dorkus because I’ve already shared plenty of Dorkus and Juniper needs to be in here SOMEWHERE, but apparently I was still going strong with these in March?? Wild!

We ran the second(?) Tiny Gents session this month. I am including Tiny Gents because it was such a big part of the year in total haha. April

I actually don’t like this piece very much, if I’m honest, but I made it and that should be worth something!! I had the song Eyes Don’t Lie going on loop for this, and I put it on my Rememdium playlist, which is probably my most played playlist of the year (If not, it’s TG). This song is going to come up again, but it definitely put me in A Rememdium brainspace.

I actually spent the month drawing more Tiny Gents stuff. Pictured above is one of the “Feral Group” PCs (featuring Charming reading a book). I did some more character design stuff this month, mostly sketching traditionally.

So Anthony, my boy, came into existence a little before this month, but I didn’t draw him much or think about him much until AFTER I drew his token. Now I’m obsessed with the goober. I plan on redrawing this, I’m not as happy with it now.

I did a lot of doodles? This month? It was a little slow. I created Hisscisca (the half orc) and Jamie (the pink goth). I actually did frames for an animatic done by @anatthema-art

Got back into Triad shenanigans and made Dorkus a gf. I also did a set of outfits for Juniper! I’ll try to post these separately, this post is getting long.

I drew this one in a haste and for love of the game to do MOTI’s Songtober! It was a really fun piece to do, and I’m surprised I have not done more fanart for this game ohoho. Omori made a big impact on my art.

I also tried really hard to do a TG comic this month, and I did 3 pages. Hooray! I can’t find it in my files, but it sure is a thing I did.

I also did like...3 birthday pieces because I have so many OCs with October birthdays.

I actually also spent this month working on an even bigger project...

 So Monkey’s Paw is not mentioned ANYWHERE in this summary, and that’s because I forgot I had to do a ton of art for it despite it consuming my being for several months. It is a surprise I got anything else done, really. I don’t even remember when I drew these-- technically they should be earlier. I’m glad the song and video are out haha. Also yes I put an Omori reference in the video.

November

This piece kind of changed how I approach my pieces in general? There was a lot of reference gathering and editing that went into it, even though it didn’t take long to actually draw. I just wanted to try something cool, and it seems to have succeeded.  Really this month I did a bunch of cool art with Anthony, I’m also quite fond of the sword piece.

December

I actually don’t know if the person I did this for has a Tumblr, but it was a Secret Santa gift! I did other smaller pieces this month, a lot of them, actually, but I mostly just chilled out. December was very reflective for me personally, and I became so grateful for things that happened this year. This summary is very visual heavy and I apologize for that, but there’s so much art to share this time around and I wanted to do that! Conclusion

I spent this year working mostly on my own projects, which was very surreal. I’m very grateful for being able to do that, and would like to continue working on projects throughout 2023 as well!

Current obsession: CHAPPELL ROAN!!! Seriously, I love her so so much right now. I don't think I've been so excited for a pop artist since like, high school when Lady Gaga first came out and was everywhere. But I love Chappell's sound and her aesthetic so much, and I love how fun and openly queer her music is.

Also Lisa Frankenstein, hahahha. It's really funny how big of an overlap there is with fans of Chappell and Lisa Frankenstein, it cracks me up.

This isn't much of an obsession, but I'm trying to get back into reading and writing more. Last year in October, I sat down and wrote an outline for an idea I've had for forever, but once that was done, I pulled another idea out that's been on my mind, and I've been trying to develop it.

My biggest hurdle when it comes to writing is I often get stuck when it comes to plot. I'll have a basic idea, but then I struggle to actually think of a plot structure or where to take the idea. It was easy for the first idea that I outlined bc at it's core, it's just a slasher horror story with supernatural elements. It's a pretty basic formula to follow and there's room to add your own flair.

ALSO, I'm stuck when it comes to storytelling mediums. Do I write it as a movie, TV show, book, or comic? The problem is I want to do everything lmao. I'm ✨indecisive✨ iwsudjhfjsdjc *sobs*

Last thing you googled: "Kitty Pryde" bc I'm very out of the loop with X-Men shenanigans (I need to watch X-Men '97 lol) and I wanted to know when they started referring to her as "Kate" in the comics. I'm sure it's been a thing for a while, but I haven't really paid any attention to the comics in forever bc I got out of collecting as a hobby.

Monday 3/18/24

Hi, Hello, Howdy? How is everyone doing today? Here is my version of events:

Spent the last day with my partner today before I officially go home. It was quite devasting knowing it was the last time, especially because I cannot seem to keep cool. Meaning, I am at a constant state of unrest and dysregulation that my thought patterns occur in negative obsessive loops but I have no self control to get myself out of it then bringing everyone down with me. Nothing anyone does or says satiates this demon in my noggin. They're (my partner) being understanding of it all. They know I'm trying to get help and fix the uncontrollable, but it doesn't excuse the way I hurt them during figuring my shit out.

I still have yet to book a flight or schedule UPS to pick up my boxes for delivery. My mom expects me to call UPS and organize the details, which is a fair responsibility, but I feel like I can't do it. Just like I couldn't do my homework, or go out in public, or sometimes even to the bathroom when needed. It is a paralyzing feeling knowing and screaming at my brain to work but my body couldn't be farther from the same page.

If we are celebrating small wins - and we are - I guess I should give myself the benefit of the doubt and let everyone know I picked up my medicine and went to get snacks, and ATE them. Woot Woot, they have nothing on me. So tonight is my first night on lithium 450mg and mirtazapine 15mg. If anyone has any knowledge on these medications let me know.

Hi this is just a vent now : I turned 20 and started seeing all the patterns my body and mind does. I never knew searching for words to define my consistently invalidated feelings and reactions would lead me to questioning if I could be a system, or have traits related to PDA, or if every bit of movement in my brain is actually an obsession, forced, or I'm faking. I think for the most part, terms are coming. and I am coming to terms with them, but fuck I'm exhausted and so alone.

On the 5th of December, in the year 2019, we got a remake of quite a rather underappreciated series' first two outings: Oneechanbara! AKA, the zombie bikini game.

Is there a story of two separated sisters fighting to restore their family while combatting the forces that fractured their home as a clone woman uses obsession to distract herself from her existential crisis? Also yes.

I know that sounds spoilery, but the originals came out in the early 2000s so I don't feel that bad.

Why I am saying all this in the intro? Let's slice our way to the good part!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Up first are all the reasons this tropetastic fanservice fest is something I'm too proud to call a guilty pleasure!

Aya and Saki's relationship. It develops faster than it realistically should but I can't bring myself to care that much. They care about each other, they fight with each other and resolve to overcome tradition together. After clearing up the misunderstandings (and having one of the sweetest hugs I've seen in gaming so far), you can really see how much Saki looks up to Aya and just wants to spend time with her. And Aya is quick to praise Saki and make her feel good about herself, knowing that she needs it. Though they're not above messing with each other; Saki teasing Aya leads to some of the funniest parts of the game and could probably seem relatable to someone with a younger sibling. Watching them talk about their lives away from each other, bond throughout their adventure and walk off at the end, after everything they go through is the real highlight of the game.

Aya is just a fun protagonist: She's strong, confident, witty and a total goofball when she needs to be. A bit standard when it comes to character development, but still fun to follow.

Simple gameplay! Just switch your weapons when they get too bloody and go! Switch characters if you need to! You don't get it, sometimes my brain needs a break from strategizing!

Music keeps me up and going while I'm killing zombies! Unbreakable Trust is a song I could keep on loop for hours and Ai ha kimi no mono is exactly the kind of song you need to keep yourself energized when facing down the kind of final boss this game gives you!

The designs are great! The features are beautiful and the outfits are perfectly updated!

Punching people as Saki is just fun.

The ending is perfectly fitting and gives a bittersweet end to the story. It was sad but also hopeful.

Okay, now to move onto some things I feel would make a great addition to the game!

ADD:

The game's too short, needs more levels to flesh things out. Development happened too fast and a lot of things went unexplored. Hmm...Seems to be a reoccurring thing in hack n' slashes.

SHOW AYA AND SAKI'S MOTHER! With how they talk about her, you would think we'd get something.

More scenes with Eva to help give the players an idea of what she's actually planning on doing would be nice (I know there's DLC, but this kind of stuff you put in the game)!

Oboro levels, maybe?

And now, let's wrap this all up with what really needs to be rebooted!

CHANGE:

Let Aya use some critical thinking and notice all the red flags about Lei! Seriously, it was so obvious!

Trying to work with countering was a nightmare. Just let me slash things.

Make Berserk and Xtatic forms player-decided? It is way harder than it seems to keep an Xtatic sister alive! Plus, you see they can control it in the cutscenes! Come on!

And that's about it! OneeChanbara ORIGIN is a fun game that I highly recommend!

Fall break Blues: Navigating Emotions and Finding Myself

It’s the second day of break , and I should be reveling in the freedom that comes with it. Instead, I find myself grappling with feelings that seem to overshadow the sunny prospects of my break. With a month left before I head back to university, I feel an unsettling mix of depression, confusion, and self-disgust creeping in. It’s as if I’m trapped in a loop, obsessively scrolling through my phone and wrestling with thoughts I wish I could shake.

I had grand plans for this time off—studying for the upcoming semester, volunteering, managing my own business ventures, and just generally growing as a person. Yet, here I am, two days in and drowning in memories of him. I’ll admit it: I’ve been smoking more than I intended to, seeking a distraction from the endless thoughts about him. It’s frustrating to realize that although I wanted to quit, I find solace in habits that don’t really serve me.

My mind is a whirlwind of emotions as I think about our relationship—or what’s left of it. It feels so formal, so distant now that university has wrapped up and classes have ended. I want him to text me, to reach out and bridge the gap that the break has created between us. There’s something drawn to his eyes, his smile, his voice, and yes, even his height. It’s wild how every little thing reminds me of him—songs I listen to, poetry I write, moments I’ve cherished. Everything seems to reflect the beauty he brings to my life.

But then there’s this gnawing realization that these feelings are one-sided. I know I should be focusing on myself, on my growth, on all the exciting opportunities before me as a young adult. I need to shift my focus inward instead of waiting for something external to change. The awareness is painfully clear: I’m the one who must change the narrative of this relationship in my mind, and yet, I can’t help but fantasize about him taking the initiative, about some sign that I’m not just chasing shadows.

The truth is, I’m scared of being stagnant during this break. I don’t want to let these days slip by while I dwell on what could have been. I crave connection and intimacy, yet I’m left feeling hollow when I realize that they only exist in my mind. I yearn for him to pull me out of this spiral, to text me just as I’m waiting for life to happen, but I can’t keep placing the power to change my situation in someone else’s hands.

So here I am, on day two of my autumn break. Maybe it’s time to tackle this head-on. I’m making a commitment to myself, to invest the next month in focusing on my passions and exploring new avenues. Yes, I’ll feel the weight of these emotions, but I won’t let them dictate my reality. It’s time to channel the energy of these thoughts into something productive. Whether it’s writing poetry, studying, or simply enjoying the summer in its vibrancy, I refuse to be defined by a single person or fleeting moment.

Perhaps thoughts of him will linger, but I know I have the power to channel that longing into self-discovery. I’m committed to being more than someone’s fleeting thought. As I look ahead to a month full of potential, I’ll make it a journey of growth, healing, and self-love. And if our paths cross again, I’ll be ready—whole and thriving, regardless of whether he texts me first.
