oOoOO this a good question I'll answer with songs that are perpetually stuck in my head ones that I could back to because their just that good to me

First up I got is

This song is so catchy for some reason I always find myself going back to it also helps me realize I'm not the only one sometimes with unrealistic expectations in men 😭

Second one I got is

This song is so good honestly like the vocals and lyrics just hit manage to scratch a part of my brain I didn't know I had I also love the alternate version they posted for the anniversary

I put these two in the same category cause their technically the same song just sung by different people/characters but both versions are absolute fire 🔥

The Third one I got is

I just recently found this one but ever since I did I've been having it on loop for who knows how long I'm just a sucker honestly for songs with symbolism and themes in them especially if they talk about more dark and taboo topics like this one

The Fourth One I got is

When I said I was a sucker for songs with stories and symbolism and themes behind them I wasn't kidding especially when they discuss more morbid and unnerving topics to be honest anything produced by biz is bound to be something I enjoy their whole "love it" track has been my absolute favorite of all time I love the way their are actual stories behind their songs like a whole narrative and characters you can dissect especially with the songs their releasing the lyrics exploring more dark and twisted relationships unhealthy on both sides (so far we have yet to see what they publish next and it may be something different that sticks out from the theme cause so far all the songs released in the "love it" track talk about a relationship where both parties involved are unhealthy and toxic and unhinged in some way shape or form) exploring a completely complicated web of love and toxicity all while being absolute bangers back to back overall I absolutely suggest biz as an artist if you enjoy songs talking about fucked up relationships and dynamics like their is so much nuance and analysis you can do on each song and the characters presented in each song that it keeps me coming back to them (this has honestly just divulged into me shamelessly trying to get other people to listen to this artist but let me tell you something they are super underrated in my opinion and more people need to talk about them)

I love this song so much I was introduced to Frank Sinatra by my Father and have ever since become a huge fan of him it just gives such wonderful vibes Frank Sinatra is in my all time favorite artists

Hii! Here's a sneak peek of a story I'm writing about Hermes and Maia. Would love thoughts and ideas pitches on where it could go!

"Maia was awoken by the full weight of a young boy landing directly on her gut. This meant it was a special occasion of some kind, or at least something he deemed one. For once she was glad that he wasn't eating much.

Her eyes opened to meet the wild hazel lights that were the primary source of both annoyance and bliss in her life. The pleiad's grumpy expression turned tiredly loving as the boy clawed his way into her heart once more.

"Hermes..."she groaned gently. "Again?"

The boy giggled and rolled off of her onto the hay mattress she lied on.

As Maia came back to life, she noticed that he had put her sandals on and braided her hair while she slept.

"Wasting no time, hm? What's the occasion?"

"Apollo is coming to town!" exclaimed the boy, rising to his feet. He had fully dressed himself, properly too. He was telling the truth.

"Hermes..." Maia said this with a hint of fear in her voice.

"What's wrong? If I can prove him and I share a father, he'll take us to Olympus!"

Maia rose to her feet and dressed herself. She looked around at their cave. It was certainly more of a home than it was when she had birthed the boy who now looked up at her, but it was still a cave.

She looked at the crate in which they kept their food. Empty once more. She looked at Hermes' thin body then her own. Living on the Mountain would solve quite literally all their problems. And yet her fear at the concept was still utterly crippling.

"Wouldn't you miss your friends here, dear?" she finally asked, her voice shaky.

Hermes shrugged. "Meh, those ash nymph girls get boring after awhile. And the satyrs creep me out."

Maia was silent in response as she prepared herself for work. Posing as a mortal woman, she had gotten herself a job as a nursemaid in town. Hardly the ideal role for a daughter of Atlas, but it was the one available.

The boy's mother finally spoke up. "I'm going to work. I'll be back with lunch at noon. You may stay here or play with the forest nymphs. That's it."

This was a command.

The boy scowled. "But we could live on Olympus!"

Maia kneeled down in front of her son and grabbed his shoulders, her face almost panicked.

"Hermes, please!" She almost sobbed.

"Bad things happen to the mothers of Zeus's sons. No one can know...""

Last book I read: A friend’s second version of their manuscript 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Book I recommend: I recently had a great time reading the English translation of Ana Paula Maia’s “Of Cattle and Men,” I’m recommending with these keywords: dry, unsettling, atmospheric, cw animal violence, almost no female characters.

Book I couldn't put down: I recently listened to an audiobook version of Balzac’s “Cousin Bette” and I kept finding chores to do or places to drive just so I could listen to it more

Book I've read twice (or more): Books I’ve reread the most in my life are either Stendhal’s “The Red and the Black” or Marc Bloch’s “The Historian’s Craft”… In recent years I have also been rereading “The Bloody Chamber” 

A book on my TBR: Going off recommendations from friends: Dorothy Sayers’s “Whose Body?” (Kate), Yoko Ogawa’s ”Museum of Silence” (Dante), Mary Renault’s “Mask of Apollo” (you!) 

A book I've put down: “The King Must Die” — it’s personal, I have low tolerance for Golden Bough type stuff and I failed to read the summary for this one (as I often do, on purpse).

A book on my wishlist: A self-published translation of some of Carmina Burana available on Amazon! I’m trying not to buy anything before we move, but as soon as we do & can spare some money…

A favorite book from childhood: 

Anyone who reads this book will instantly see why child-me would be into it. I’m also super partial to the old edition with the human-like monster. I think there’s something more horrifying about that guy eating people than an inhuman-looking entity doing the same.

A book you would give a friend: I think more people in the world should read “Why Art?” and I think it makes a beautiful present… “You & a Bike & a Road” by the same author is also a book that I think would make a lovely present for most of my friends

A book of poetry or lyrics you own: “Morte e Vida Severina”, not my top favorite João Cabral de Melo Neto book, but the first book of adult poetry I ever read and so very dear to me (and it was set to music, so it counts as lyrics!)

A non-fiction book you own: I finally own my own copy of Todorov’s “The Conquest of the Americas”...  

Currently reading: I was in a brutal reading slump so I currently have like 7 ‘currently reading’s…let’s go with Bernhard Schlink’s “The Reader” 

Planning on reading next: Promised my wife I’d reread "Return of the Thief" so I can finish this fic I’m writing mostly as a present for her, so probably that!" so I can finish this fic I’m writing mostly as a present for her, so probably that!

PART TWO OF MY BINAH X AYIN POST

The song is Love Eat -Dear Maia-

I've shared this Binah x ayin au with my friend, and AHHHH, just talking about it, had gotten me more in love with this au. Where Ayin and Garion are essentially the only ones left (aside from angela) in the facility (Benjamin had left), so basically, it's just Ayin keeping Garion as a prisoner after the attack. heavily emphasizes how pathetic Ayin has become after his friends and colleagues have died and his abandonment issues are at a all time high. Garion, being the only one around, he essentially latches himself onto her as a source of comfort (horrible idea, but it's ayin so yknow)

Garion finds him pathetic to cry to his very own prisoner, but she does lend an ear. She saw him as an interesting specimen due to how determined he is on a failing cause. How he stood up to her like no one else has. Somehow, this guy had wormed his way into uh...her heart?? Or whatever.

Also, with Angela being added onto the mix, she would essentially see Garion as another parent/mentor figure since Benjamin had left. So her just learning after Garion (ANOTHER TERRIBLE IDEA LMAO). One of the main reasons why Garion keeps her alive is to drive Ayin to a corner. Ayin always comes down crying and begging Garion not to kill or even hurt his daughter angela (which even surprises Angela and Ayin himself) since Angela is the only thing he has left of Carmen and Benjamin. SOOO essentially, Garion does try to force ayin to have a better relationship with angela

Their relationship in this au is a bit fucked up than usual but tbh I love these songs and I thought of them while listening. Basically Garion does take the place of the guy here, but like the guy in the songs, she is actually the one who pulls the strings now. Plus crybaby ayin on this au is a little silly but he deserves to cry... these bitches gay as hell in my heart

:O YES YES!!!! That song is so Jade Leech. OTL Juby's lyrics are really amazing and catchy and I love the cover as much as the original song! Both are wonderful!!! >w< I listened to it and immediately thought of sk!Jade, especially the "I'm creeping into your flesh" line. AAAAAA IT'S TOO GOOD OMG...... funnily enough, I almost titled chapter three in DRU "meat-cute" as a reference to Reader coming home to find Jade in her apartment, but I wanted that chapter to focus more so on her interactions with Azul (hence the title "a warm, stifling sea"). But one of the future chapters will be titled "meat-cute" because I'm much too attached to the word play. (˘ ˘ ˘)

I adore how "loveit" (which can also sound like love-eat) uses cannibalism as a metaphor for toxic/abusive relationships. We all need food to survive, and so when you're stuck in an abusive relationship the world is so warped and everything you know is so twisted; you rely on the abuser because it's been engrained that without them you're nothing, you can't survive, etc. In a way, they are your food and sustenance. I think "loveit" portrays the horror of it very well: how with cannibalism you're losing parts of yourself (they're being devoured), and with abuse you're losing the ability to do things with those parts (you can't use your mouth to speak out, you can't use your legs to just walk away, you can't even use your eyes to cry sometimes).

Aaaaa I just love biz's music!!! It's so clever, and I like how they portray the dynamics of unhealthy relationships in their songs. There is also love eat -Dear Maia- (connected to "loveit") and recently they released another song: love cat! Both are very good!!! :D

Along with English covers, have you heard rachie's cover of "i am addicted"? It's so HBE!Azul vibes... T_T it brings back the pain tenfold... uuuwaaa,,, >_<

And it's ran by a very charismatic woman with extreme desires who isn't afraid to get rid of anyone in her way? And her name is Maya Maia? And there's this guy who is another victim of this club who's kinda fucked up? With a missing eye and a smoking habit? And there's a girl who tries to help the guy escape, and gets killed for it? And eventually the guy escapes by pretending to go along with what Maya Maia wants? Ok.
