flights and family - lando norris x wife!reader
summary - after an eventful first half of the season, a trip home is just what you and your family need to reset
warnings - nothing! some mentions of lando being overwhelmed due to the 2024 season, but other than that just fluff & kisses
authors note - haiii heres a josie fic i wrote while i was on a plane a couple months ago, i hope u enjoy <33 im trying to get back into the swing of writing so gimme reqs and ill try and get to them as quick as possible!! lots of love, clove!
apart of the josephine elliot norris chronicals
“babe wake up..” kisses flutter across your face, pulling you out of your peaceful sleep. you open your eyes to see your husband's emerald eyes overtop of you.
“we gots’ to go! its airport time in t-minus 1 hour“ he whispers, lightly pinching your bicep to spark your body awake.
“uuuggh what time is it?” you groan, rolling over to grab your phone, 3:46am. your flight boards at 6. You fall back into the duvet, eyes slowly closing as sleep reaches out to pull you under again.
“baby! up! i’ll get josie” he shouts through whisper, marching around your bedroom in his baby blue sweatpants and matching hoodie. You giggle, throwing the covers over, finally getting out of bed.
lando speeds down the hall towards your daughter's room, he creaks the door open into the room. dimly lit from the flower nightlight hung on the wall next to the pretty pink letters spelling josephine above the small pink race car bed. his daughter, a recent graduate to the race car bed, was curled up under her blankets sleeping softly.
lando lifts his daughter into his arms, the 3 year old stirring slightly, whining at the disturbance of her slumber.
“it’s just daddy,” he shushes, pushing the curls out of her face so he can see his own eyes looking back at him “you ready for the plane baby?” rolling the bright pink suitcase down to the front door where yours and his await along with your carry ons. The quiet babbles of your daughter chatting with him about her dream fill the quiet of the early morning.
monaco was rarely quiet, the city almost never sleeps. the peaceful blanket of calm reassurance, lando was sure today would go smoothly.
you just needed to be ready on time.
he loved you, his wife, the love of his life, mother of his child, number one supporter.
but my god your punctuality needed some work.
Just as if you heard his thoughts, you came bustling down the stairs with your bag in hand, sporting your light grey aritzia sweatsuit that Lando bought you as an early anniversary present.
“okay, i’m ready” you huff, blowing your hair that fell in front of your eyes. lando chuckles at your disheveled-ness while your daughter rests her head on his shoulder, quickly falling back to sleep.
you melt at the sight, smiling softly “she’ll be okay right?” you ask, it was josie’s first time flying, your husband rubbing her back before nodding
“Of course she well, she's so zonked she won't even realize we're in the air-” you chuckle “and I booked a jet. we couldn’t be more safe.” he assures you while handing you some suitcases to take to the uber that’s arriving downstairs.
“as long as we get to the airport on time” he jokes, giving your bum a light pat while you lock the door. You scoff at him playfully, even after being married for four years and having a child, Lando still has his ways to make you giggle like a teenager.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
making it through the airport was quick, josie had fallen asleep on lando in the car. Making the check in easy when you didn’t have a 3 year old asking every question imaginable. you and lando loved her imagination and curiosity, taking it as a small parenting win when you had the time and energy to answer those questions.
4:45am, however, is not the time to answer those questions
security was quiet, perks of flying early and in the middle of the week. the attendants recognized your little family letting you through the fast lane just for some entertainment, in the mist of the night.
the sun was just making its appearance over the horizon when you took off. Josie was curled up in landos lap, completely passed out.
“I can't wait to be home in London,” you say softly as you rest your head on your husband's shoulder, your gaze fixed on your little bundle of love whos sleeping in his lap
Lando hums, eyes fixed on his daughter who’s been subconsciously squeezing his fingers in her rem.
“yeah, i can’t wait to see my parents” he adds “i made max pick us up so we can surprise them at breakfast”
one week ago, you and your husband made an impromptu decision to drop everything and take a trip home. You both have been overly stressed and it was taking a toll on the two of you. Lando has been at the fighting front of the championship for months while you have been juggling being a first time mother and handling your own responsibilities at work.
it all came to a breaking point when lando had broken down after coming home from a tough race weekend. frustrated with the results, the pressure and overall the backlash from outsiders, had him sobbing in your arms the minute he walked through the door. soon after you both came to the realization that you needed some well deserved rest and relaxation during the summer break.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
“ahh they’re they are!” Max shouts from the car when he spots you two, earning a glare from you, pointing to the girl still sleeping soundly in landos arms.
“Whoops, sorry!” He sucks in a breath through his teeth. helping you load the bags into the boot while Lando secures Josie in her car seat. You always thought fatherhood was so beautiful on him, you fall in love with him all over again seeing the way he was with josie. only proving to you that this was something he was meant to do.
The London streets were still quiet, the faded radio music providing a background as you and Lando chatted with Max, catching up while he navigated through the city towards landos childhood home.
When you arrived, you took Josie in your arms trying to wake her so she could greet her grandparents properly.
the girl stirred in your arms, mumbling incoherent words into your neck and lando giggling from behind you, watching the girl wake. you always loved watching him with josie, the man adored his daughter. from the moment she was born she had him wrapping around her finger the very second he saw his own eyes staring back at him.
“hi baby girl wanna go say hi to nana and pop?” he asked, that perked Josie up. The toddler always got excited at the mention of her grandparents.
“ya i’m gonna giv’ them a biiig hug” she mumbled still half asleep, lifting her head from your shoulder while showing a toothy smile to her father. You and your husband break out into a fit of giggles.
The sweet smell of eggs, bacon and delicious pastries engulfed the inside of the Norris family home. you and lando feel yourself physically relax at the thought of ciscas home cooked brunch.
soft music came from the kitchen as the distant voices of landos family traveled throughout the home. Providing a lighthouse to the kitchen, the light at the end of a tunnel that you and lando so desperately were waiting for.
you place josie down, allowing her to walk ahead of you and lando, the girl running into the kitchen, turning to see the girl, cisca halts her movements, gasping at her granddaughter, who she knew lived in monaco.
“well what are you doing here missy?” the woman asks, alerting the rest of the Norris family of their unexpected guest. you and lando take that as the signal to turn the corner, smiling ear to ear with your hands interlocked, the shocked faces of the norris family say enough that your surprise was a success
“surprise!”
The room erupted into cheers from the Norris family, moving to give you all hugs. Josie giggling as her grandma picks her up, attacking her cheeks with kisses.
You greet landos sisters and parents, squeezing your sister in-laws while Lando hugs his brother and his wife.
“what brings your three here?” landos father, adam asks while giving his son a hug, flo begins setting three extra place mats on the dining table for you as josie is in a very in depth conversation with her grandma.
“monaco was getting too much so we wanted to spend some time home before the break ends..” lando explained, simply. pressing a kiss to your temple before moving to hug his mum, you watch as he melts slightly into the embrace, tucking his head inside her neck the same way he does with you.
Cisca places a kiss on your check when she hugs you “you go settle in upstairs, breakfast will be ready soon, you must be exhausted”
You both sink into the mattress, letting out a sigh of relief.
“I am so happy we came,” Lando breathes, rolling over to look at you with that loving smile on his face that gives you butterflies, the morning sun hitting his face just perfectly, casting a gentle glow over his gorgeous features. You smile softly up at him reaching out gently to scratch the light stubble he's grown.
“I'm so happy we came too my love”
He lightly pecks your lips before the door bursts open, in walks Josie with Mila hot on her heels. The two cousins hopping on the bed before josie lightly jumps on her fathers stomach, causing lando to let out a quiet “oomf-”
“Nana told us to come get you because brekkie is ready!” Mila said before hopping off the bed and running out the room, Josie tries to wiggle out of landos arms but he squeezes her tighter, placing kisses all over her face. The girl giggling at her father
“Oh no you don't missy!” he says
“dada let me go!” she shouts through a string of giggles and squeals.
You three make your way downstairs, joining your family at the table. The conversation flows effortlessly as you fill your tummy with ciscas delicious spread of food. You and Lando make eye contact from the opposite sides of josie who sat between you two, landos eyes were filled with nothing but love as you smiled softly back at the love of your life, a silent agreement that this trip was just what your family needed.

Another deaged Ellie and Dan, but Danny was reincarnated as Damian Wayne
Danny Damian because he was Damian now, wasn't he? He remembers now the Fentons, the GIW, Sam and Tucker, jazz. He wonders if they could have also followed him here. A part of him longs to see his fraid again, but are they his fraid still? He was a new person. Son of The Bat and Heir to the Demon Head. Something Dami he remembers reminding people of. If only Sam could see him now, he knows she'd love that. "Who's edgy now?" He can picture her saying. He can almost see Tucker laughing so hard he'd fall out of his seat.
Crack
The sharp sound of the thunder brings him to the present. He looked over at his clock, 3:00 A.M. The witching hour he can hear Ellie tell him with a mischievous smile on one of their flights around Amity Park. She loved to drag him and Dan sometimes Vlad if he was feeling friendly. Dan, his future evil self tormented by the deaths of all his family and friends, so hurt he got Vlad to rip his human half out so he didn't have to feel the pain. Ellie, his clone, created by Vlad to be the perfect son, too bad she was a daughter. Looking down at his stomach where their cores are now incubating, he couldn't help but wonder if Vlad had anything to do with this.
He shook his head as if that would rid himself of that thought. Vlad was a real fruitloop, but he would never purposefully endanger Dan or Ellie. Vlad, in his twisted and weird ways, did love them in his own ways like kidnapping and keeping him hostage to save Ellie. He had forgiven vlad for the desperate attempt to save his daughter, but incubating Ellie and Dan's cores would make him their father now, too. Ew, coparenting with Vlad does not sound like a fun time. He glanced down and lifted his shirt hesitantly. If he focused on his stomach, he could see a faint blue and red glow emanating from his stomach. Red, Vlads' color, he thought distantly. Hopefully, it didn't mean much. As if signaling him, the envelope they had carried with them to him fell off the bed carried to the floor by the slight breeze.
Lighting lumineating the bedroom, making the crisp white color shine for just a second. He tentatively reached down to grab it. He was being a baby. He was a trained assassin from birth, and his fear trained beaten out of him a long time ago. Some part of him whispered his father and Richard's teachings of being brave but not without fear.
He paused. Father would want to know everything. His past life, Ellie and Dan, the ghosts, being a halfa. He wouldn't understand, Richard would try to, but not even he could never really understand. He couldn't subject his babies to that. He couldn't live with the threat to being ripped apart molecule by molecule. His father's lack of emotional intelligence certainly would not help young halfas. He was fourteen again the age he was killed in his first life. The age he started facing ghosts from another dimension.
He started younger in this life. Killing younger, he learned to fight his whole life. Jazz would hate that. Jazz... he wondered if she was alright if she survived the attack... no, there's no time to think of that right now. He ripped open the envelope( like a band-aid, Richard would remind him), and he noticed Vlad's familiar fancy fruitloop writing immediately(he had fancy fruitloop writing now, instead of the chicken scratch Jazz chided him over). So he was right about one thing this had vlad all over it.
Dear Daniel,
Though I understand you might not be Daniel when this letter finds you. I have been reincarnated into another life as I believe you have as well. My new name is Alexander Luther. I own a corporation called Lexcorp. I unfortunately can not change the name according to my board. The idiot lot of them.
He snickered at that. His smile dropped immediately. Vlad was Lex Luthor, the archnemesis of Superman. Jon would most certainly not like this. He forced himself to read on before he spiraled further.
I regained my memories after an experiment went wrong. I know how original. My new incarnation was able to open a small portal that grew in size, and eventually, somehow Danielle and Dan fell through. The portal then exploded, and I regained my memories. Unfortunately, it destabilized their clone bodies. I couldn't grow working bodies in time, and eventually, I had to hope they could find you. I hoped somehow that the yeti doctor would have imparted some of his strange knowledge onto you that might save them.
Vlad, no Lex still wrong. Vlad was somewhat right about that. During one of his all things ghostly lessons from Frostbite, he told him of how in the old ages ghosts often incubated their ghostlings. A protective measure back when magic and spirits were more prevalent. He didn't really understand it back then, and he doesn't understand it much now, either. Apart from the fact he was doing it, he supposed. What if he did something wrong and he lost them? He doesn't think he could live out his half-life if he lost them again. He needed to get to Vlad, and quickly too so they could start building a new portal to the infinite realms.
If this letter finds you. Come find me immediately at these coordinates. I've gone deep underground to escape my new archnimesis's suoer senses. I've m started research on a new portal, but I'll need your endeneering skills. This world is severely lacking in ectoplasmic science and engineering. I am once again forced to start from scratch on my own. Once we get the portal open, you'll need to go straight to The Far Frozen.
It's as if he's reading my mind, I think jokingly.
P.s. One of my experiments may or not have regiven then my new DNA in an attempt to restabilize them.
Only Vlad.
Well, it looks like they actually were going to be coparenting after all. This was going to go great.
I sigh and lean my head back down on my pillow. He committed the cords to memory before lighting the letter on fire with the lighter he kept in his bedside drawer. Point to assassin training. Jason would be proud. He supposed he could stay for a month or so before leaving, which would give him enough time to get away or think of some kind of mission to give himself. He shoots up. Todd had died and came back. He was a revenant. He couldn't stick around if he were to visit he'd know something was wrong immediately even if he didn't understand it.
He sprung out of bed quickly, but quietly, his foot steps perfectly silent despite his rushed mood of packing a bag. He packed a few pairs of clothes and lots of hidden weapons, some snacks he kept hidden for that should keep him fed on his journey but leaving any sentimental things behind. He glanced longingly at his sketch pad, but Vlad was most likely under the water judging by the coordinates he was given. Who knows if it would survive.
He checked the pack, making sure he got all he needed. He promptly checked it again. Twice. After deeming it sufficient, he willed himself to open the door. He mentally cataloged everyone in the manor. Pennyworth was most likely still in Father's room, making sure he actually listened to his insructions. Richard and Todd in Bludhaven and Crime Alley, respectfully. Cain and Brown in Hong Kong. Thomas was sleeping after his dayshift.
Everyone accounted for except Drake. He was most likely using Pennyworth's attention on Father to work cases. He just had to take the risk. For his ghostlings, for himself, Vlad. He crept down the hallways. He was opening the grandfather clock in record time. He went slower this time. He would use his powers, but his father had supernatural wards of all kinds in the cave. Who knows what they did. He was also admittedly trying to save his little energy for his voyage on the open sea. Light snoring hit his ears as he peered around the corner.
Thank ancients.
Drake was sleeping at the batcomputer, still in his Red Robin suit sans mask surrounded by his poor choices. Empty coffee cups and files spread around. He would still need to be quiet, Drake was a light sleeper, as was everyone else in his family. He grabbed the keys to his bike quickly, sneaking by. If he wasn't ditching his bike at Gotham Bridge, he would have disabled his trackers. He checked the gas and made sure he could make it. That's when he made his first mistake.
Putting the gas jug back down, he accidently hit another of one of his siblings' tools to the floor. He tried catching it without success, but it fell anyway, the loud clang echoing. Mistake number two.
Shit.
"Huh? What's happening?" Drake arose sleepily rubbing his eyes.
He froze. Mistake number three.
"Damian? What are you doing down here?" His eyes landed on him, and he spoke confusedly with his voice heavy with sleep or lack thereof.
He panics. He's blaming the pregnancy hormones on this.
He runs.
"Damian!" Drake responded to his dead sprint with his own. "Stop!"
He reaches his bike, and he turns the keys and prays. Luckily, it comes to life. He fumbles with his helmet it would hide his tears he needed it. who knows if he'll ever get to see them again. He shoots off down the tunnel. Flicking the cave door open remotely.
Another bike rears to life behind him. "Damian wants going on?" Drakes voice echoes in his ears. He can almost taste the concern in it amplified by the helmet. He ignores it and accelerates. He ignores the returned acceleration behind him.
----------------
Tim has no clue what made Damian panic enough to run away. He quickly ran to his own bike while swearing. Damian is already gaining distance on him. After another attempt at getting Damian to calm down and talk, he calls the only person Damian would actually listen to.
He hopes Dick will forgive him for waking him at five o'clock in the morning on his day off.

Come Fly With Me
Thank you anon for this request!
I'm double dipping and using this as an entry into my own AU August Writing Challenge ❤
Pairing: pilot!joel miller x flight attendant!reader one-shot
Summary: You and Joel have a little fun in the cockpit.
Warnings: language, smut (18+ MDNI), competency kink, public sex (kind of?), unprotected piv sex, reference to blow job, light spanking
WC: 2.5K
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Captain speaking. Welcome on board flight 1092, flyin' from Orlando to Austin. Our flight time today is 2 hours and 40 minutes, but I know a few shortcuts, I'll get us there a little quicker.
You smiled to yourself when you heard the familiar ripple of laughter cut through the plane.
On a personal note, this flight is particularly special for me. My wife is on board today, so if you see her, please don't listen if she tells you 'bout my drivin'.
Captain Miller just got married a few days ago and it was still strange to see the gold band around his finger. It seemed he was struggling with it, too, because you caught him fiddling with it every time you glanced inside the cockpit.
You listened from the galley, doing your checks and making sure everything was locked and secured as Joel announced the temperature, how to operate the systems installed in the seats, and how to call an attendant for help. It was a speech you heard a thousand times.
Finally, he wrapped things up with on behalf of myself and the crew, thank you for choosing us as your airline today. Have a wonderful flight.
You stood at your post with a smile plastered across your face as you watched Marissa and Brian explain to bored looking faces how to engage the floatation device and oxygen masks hidden around each passenger when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
You didn't even turn around. You knew who it was.
"Once we're clear, come and see me, sweetheart."
A thrill of excitement slithered down your spine and you tilted your face to the side so you could whisper, "you're a married man, now. We shouldn't be doing that anymore."
"A ring 'round my finger ain't changin' a goddamn thing here."
And then he was gone.
It took nearly an hour. A full hour where you had to do your first round of service, handing out snacks and drinks to people who mostly ignored you and rarely offered their thanks before you brought your cart back to the galley to clean up.
You heard the door to the cockpit open and Frank, the co-pilot, stepped out and stretched. He saw you and smiled, nodded his head, then asked if he could take ginger ale, like always. And your response was always the same.
"You don't need to ask, Frank."
He grinned and gave you a little salute before he did his rounds. Frank was very personable. He enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories. When an extrovert has a job where he meets new people every six hours or so, it's a match made in heaven.
And it's especially good for you and Joel because you both know he won't be back for at least half an hour, probably more.
Glancing around to make sure none of the other flight crew saw you, you tapped lightly on the door then slipped inside.
No matter how many times you saw it, and at that point it had to have been hundreds, the cockpit always left you breathless. When you first step in, you're instantly overwhelmed with lights, buttons, levers and monitors. The control panel was absolutely massive and intimidating. And it was one of the things that attracted you to Joel in the first place.
Watching him operate a plane with such ease, hardly even having to think as he went through the motions turned you on from day one. Part of you always thought he knew it, too. From the moment he saw you, he knew he had you in the palm of his hand.
And you loved every second of it, married or not.
"Captain," you said breathlessly, then grinned when he turned around and slid off his headset. The ache between your legs had been steadily growing for the past hour and you were at the point where if he didn't do something about it within the next five minutes, you would take matters into your own hands. Literally.
"C'mere, darlin'. Why don't you sit on my lap?"
He patted his thighs, clad in dark navy blue, same as your skirt, and you giggled before doing as you were told.
He hummed appreciatively and ran his big hands up and down your legs, which were spread wide and straddling him.
"Pretty little thing," he murmured. You wrapped your arms around the back of his neck and slowly, subtly, began to roll your hips.
"What if someone catches us one day?" you whispered before leaning forward to taste the skin under his jaw.
"Ain't no one gonna catch us," he assured you, dragging his hands up and over your hips to cup your ass and give it a firm squeeze.
You groaned and started to move your hips faster. You could feel his cock stiffening against his leg and you felt yourself clench around nothing. Fuck, you wanted him so badly. Every single time it was like this. Your need for him was never quenched. But still, you enjoyed teasing him from time to time.
"Didn't you just get married a few days ago?"
You felt his hands pause momentarily, leaving your skirt hiked up around your waist but your underwear still on.
"What's your point?"
You smiled and bit gently at his earlobe. "My point is, wasn't your wedding night enough to satisfy you?"
His hands resumed exploring your body and you felt a deep rumble vibrate from his chest.
"You know the answer to that."
And he was right. You did.
The answer was the reason he asked you to come see him in the first place.
Joel slid his fingers past the waistline of your panties, swiping them through your folds with a pained groan.
"Fuck, so wet, baby," he said. Your hips tried to chase his fingers, tried to keep him where you needed him most, but he was too fast.
"You gonna fly this plane and fuck me at the same time, Captain?" you murmured seductively. He smirked and nodded.
With your breath coming in quick little excited pants, you tugged on his zipper while he pulled your panties to the side.
"Need me that bad, huh?" he teased, and normally you might say something smart right back, but on that particular day you wanted him more than usual. Maybe it was the gold band that was catching the sun in just the right way, the thought of him being married now egging you on and making you needier, but whatever it was had the seam between your legs absolutely dripping for his attention.
"Oh!" you cried out, then immediately slapped your palm over your mouth when you first felt him breech your opening. He chuckled and continued to guide your hips down, watching in a trance as you took every inch of him deep within your walls while you whimpered in his ear and tried you best to remain quiet.
"Shh, darlin', I got you," he said softly, his own face pinched as he tried to hold back from slamming up into you. "I got you. Yeah, feel that? Feel how good you take me?"
You nodded because it was true. You could feel your body relaxing and opening for him, happily welcoming him back in.
He gave you a few minutes to adjust. He always did, and you appreciated that. You were always the one who ended up doing most of the work given the small space, so it was the least he could do.
With a sigh, you rested your head on his shoulder and gazed out at the clouds while he gently stroked your back. The view never got old. It felt so surreal every single time, to be staring out at such beauty while stuffed full of his cock. It didn't get much better than that.
He whispered your name, voice sounding strained, and you lifted your head.
"Who's needy now?" you asked with a grin. He bit lightly at your chin and gave one of your ass cheeks a quick slap with his palm, making you jump and giggle before you began to roll your hips over his lap.
Joel's fingers dug into your skin with a sigh, gazing up at you adoringly while you rode him just the way you liked. There was something so fucking hot about him having complete control over the aircraft, hundreds of lives in his hands every single day, but you were the one who had the power over him. You were the one he yearned for, ached for. Since the first day you were assigned to his crew, he couldn't keep his hands to himself. He began to request you specifically be assigned to his flights as much as your schedules would allow, then one day on a particularly long flight you had brought him something to eat without him even asking. You could see the exhaustion in his eyes and you just desperately wanted to take care of him, so you brazenly dropped to your knees and took him inside your mouth while his eyes fluttered closed, the only noises filling the air came from the back of your throat and the tinny voice echoing through his abandoned headset nearby.
The rest was history.
He wondered if getting married might dull his desire for you, but he was foolish to think his feelings could ever change.
"Fuck, baby, that's it," he growled when you picked up the pace and began bouncing in his lap, your tits jostling in your navy blue polo. He feverishly yanked the hem of your shirt up so it bunched up over your breasts and he made a pathetic little noise when he saw the white, lacy bra you had on underneath.
"Look at you, filthy thing," he murmured, squeezing at your covered breasts. "Fuckin' a married man like this. But I bet that just turns you on even more, don't it?"
You moaned and tipped your head back, chin aimed at the ceiling of the cockpit. His lips dragged down your throat, tongue shooting out to taste your skin, careful not to leave a mark. He was convinced at least Frank knew what you were doing in here but he didn't need to give the rest of the crew any reason to gossip.
Air traffic control crackled through the radio, checking in like they usually did when the plane reached a new zone.
"Hang on," he told you, so you gripped his shoulders while he leaned forward to pick up the receiver. His thumb hovered over the button to answer when he gave you a look. "Didn't tell you to stop, did I?"
You grinned and resumed fucking yourself on his cock while he pressed down on the button, dropping his voice to sound more professional when he answered the man on the other end. He confirmed his coordinates, his credentials and his flight pattern with ease, all while you circled your hips and ground yourself down, your clit catching on the coarse hair at the base of his cock. You had to bite back a moan when he was talking, the pleasure mounting low in your belly making it difficult not to make any noise.
Finally, he put the receiver back and you moaned his name, your face buried in the crook of his neck to muffle the sound.
"You fuckin' love this, don't you? Love gettin' fucked in here, love the thrill of it, huh?"
"Yes," you whispered, your eyes squeezing shut as you closed in on your release. "Oh, god, Joel - fuck!" you sobbed when he began to lift his hips from his seat, fucking up into you, matching you thrust for thrust, grunting like an animal in your ear each time your hips made contact.
"Lemme feel you, baby. Wanna feel you shake for me," he said through clenched teeth. You gasped and nodded, mustering every ounce of energy you had left to slam yourself up and down on his thick cock, so desperate to come you didn't care if the door flung open and the whole plane saw what you were doing.
"Tell me how it feels, honey," he said. He must have been close, too. You've done this enough times to know he likes hearing you talk dirty to him right when he's about to come.
"Feels so good," you began, "you always fuck me so good. No one else has - shit - n-no one else has ever... oh, god, Joel," you whined, losing focus when your vision began to blur.
"Don't stop," he begged, his thrusts becoming sloppy. "Keep talkin', baby, please."
"Will you come inside me?" you whispered, your teeth scraping against your lower lip, turning the skin raw. "Wanna feel you inside me the whole flight. Can you do that for me?"
"Yes," he gasped, forehead beaded with sweat, face flushed and jaw slack. "Yes, yes, yes... fuck! C'mon!" he groaned, slapping your ass a little harder than before.
You kept babbling, telling him how big he was, how badly you wanted him, how no one else has ever fucked you as good as he does when your voice caught in your throat and you came around his cock with a strangled moan.
He didn't hold back. He circled his arms around your waist and fucked up into you recklessly, your cunt pulsing around him while your chest heaved and your fingers clawed at his shoulders, trying to ground yourself through your high.
At the last second he pressed his face against the side of your neck, pinning you against his chest. He moaned, his mouth falling open when he came, not caring how loud he might have been. It felt too fucking good to feel himself fill you up, feel his hot spend pooling and dripping down his length while he weakly pressed into you, prolonging his orgasm as best he could before his limbs went weak and he sighed against your chest.
You were cooing in his ear, telling him how good he did, how full you were, fucking thanking him while his shoulders sagged and a shiver ran down his spine.
"Can't get enough of you," he whimpered. You grinned and kissed the top of his head before lifting yourself off his lap. He helped you slide your underwear back in place, the fabric immediately soaking with your combined release while you fixed your polo and stood up.
"Shit, my skirt's gonna be wrinkled," you muttered while he tucked himself away and zipped up his pants.
"Next time we'll just have to take it off," he teased, making you giggle and playfully swat at his shoulder.
"Next time? What would your wife have to say about that, Captain?"
He rolled his eyes and grabbed your left hand, bringing your knuckles to his lips. He silently appraised the two rings nesting on your finger with a pleased smirk before letting you go.
"I don't know, you tell me."
You leaned forward and placed a soft kiss against his lips, lingering for an extra moment before pulling away.
"She'd say she can't wait."

#5 with luke hughes 🫶🫶
the distance between us - luke hughes
in which luke is in need to comfort.
-
"i miss you."
the three words that he speaks make me crumble, the barely noticeable tremble in his tone, then the silence right after. "i miss you too, luke...more than you know."
i hear a shuffling on his end, like he's getting in the bed or something. a sniff, then silence. "luke..?" i whisper.
"yeah?"
"i know that this...this is a hard time for you. since jack and quinn are both hurt and now jacks in denver...but i can come up there and be with you, if you want me too?" i say, hoping my words come off as reassuring instead of insensitive.
there's silence on his end, then he speaks. "i'll be okay." i know his words don't mean to come off as mean, his voice unsure. "but if you want to come, you can."
and that's the only thing i need to hear before i set down my phone, putting it on speaker and opening my laptop. i purchase tickets that are a few hours from now, giving me just enough time to pack. "i'll be there tomorrow, about 3am at the airport."
i hear a now reassured sigh, like a breath of relief. "okay, i'll meet you there."
"luke, you stay home and get some rest. i'll use my spare key to let myself in." i say, shutting off my laptop and getting up, bringing the phone with me to grab my suitcase out of the closet.
"won't matter, i'll be too happy to see you to sleep." he laughs softly. "are you packing?" he asks. i can only assume he heard the zipper of the suitcase.
"yeah, my flight leaves in about three hours so..." i trail off, throwing clothes and toiletries in the suitcase. "and i still haven't eaten dinner. i'll probably just eat on the flight, the website said a meal or snacks would be included." he hums, then more shuffling. "it'll be a few hours, you should get some sleep."
"i'll set my alarm so i can come pick you up." his words make me smile, and i zip up the suitcase. i grab my bigger purse, throwing in some essentials like a portable charger, earbuds, and few more things. "sweetheart?" he whispers.
"yes?"
"please be careful."
"i will, i love you..." i sit on my bed, rubbing my tired eyes.
"i love you too. text me when you board."
"alright, i'll see you soon." i smile softly, ending the call. i sigh, rubbing my temple. i change into clothes that are suitable for the plane, but comfy enough for me to sleep in.
-
the flight lands, and i get a text from luke telling me that he's already got my suitcase and he's waiting at the luggage claim for me.
i can hardly contain my excitement for seeing luke, despite the situation he's in, especially when i see the familiar bunches of soft curls that poke out of his hat. he's faced away from me, looking around. "luke...!" i call out, practically running to him.
he turns, eyes wide as he opens his arms, dropping my suitcase handle to catch me. my carry-on hits the floor beside it, my arms wrapping around his neck. he breathes in, his face tucked into my hair. his arms are tight around me, like he's afraid of losing me.
after what feels like forever, he pulls back to look at me. his eyes are tired and sunken in, glassy with unshed tears. i can almost feel his sadness, the loneliness radiating off of him. a pang of guilt tears through me, guilt that i haven't come to him sooner.
i cup his cheeks, looking up at him. "oh luke..." my voice trembles, "let's go home." i whisper, watching him nod in agreement. we grab my bags, and walk to his car. the ride back to his apartment is silent, but it's not uncomfortable.
the car halts to a stop in the apartment complex's parking garage, a sigh leaving his lips. he takes my hand, my suitcase in the other, leading me to the apartment. it seems so empty without jack and his happy-go-lucky personality, his laugh usually echoing throughout the apartment.
i frown, immediately noticing his absence. the multiple vases of half dead get well soon flowers litter the apartment. the room is very clean, like luke has been trying to figure out ways to busy himself since jacks absence. i look over at luke, who's looking down at the floor.
"i'm sure he misses you too, luke..." i whisper, my eyes watering at the sight of my sweet boy, who's normally so happy and excited, so lonely and upset.
there's silence from him, only the shaking of his shoulders. sniffles leave him and a single tear that falls from his cheek hits the floor, then another, and another. i pull him into my arms quickly, feeling his body shake. tears leave not only his eyes, but mine too. his hat hits the floor as he places his face into my hair.
after what seems like hours of tears, i can tell luke is starting to calm down a bit. it's like he's been holding in his emotions, trying to hide them. i lead him back to his room, my luggage sat at the entrance of the apartment. we don't even bother to change, immediately getting into his bed. the sheets are still a little warm.
he grabs me, pulling me as close to him as possible. his hands grip the soft fabric of my hoodie, his face tucked into my neck. i play with his curls softly, a hum leaving his lips. i can tell he's tired, the tension in his body slowly slipping away. "i love you, luke..." i whisper softly, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of his head.
with the distance between us now closed, there's a strange sense of almost comfort, a feeling that the both of us have each other with no worries. we both sleep soundly in each others arms, content with just being in each others presence.

All is Fair in Love and Pastries - Kenan Yıldız x Reader
summary: She came to Munich for romance and got ghosted instead. Now, all she has left is a non-refundable ticket, a wounded ego, and an ongoing feud with a man who stole her last pretzel. (8k words)
content: serendipity, slight enemies-to-lovers, unexpected chemistry, teasing, fluff :)
AN: getting that real life inspo lmao I'm actually still going to Munich this weekend as my ticket is non refundable :') bet im gonna go shopping tho!! have a lovely day darlings <3
_______________________________________
I stared at my phone for the hundredth time that day, hoping—no, praying—for a notification. A single message. A carrier pigeon, even. Anything to prove that I hadn’t just imagined the last 5 months of my relationship.
Nothing.
Just the same empty screen, as quiet and indifferent as the man who swore he loved me five days ago.
I refreshed our chat anyway, like that would suddenly make a difference. Maybe my WiFi was acting up. Maybe he had texted, and the message was just... stuck in the digital abyss, waiting to be delivered.
Nope. Still nothing.
I sighed dramatically and flopped back onto my bed, holding my phone above me like it might suddenly start explaining itself.
It had been four days since my boyfriend—ex-boyfriend? Current ghost?—had last texted me. Four whole days. No explanation, no excuse, not even the cowardice of a half-assed breakup text.
Just... radio silence.
Besides the instagram stories of his friends, where he was seemingly having the time of his life clubbing and going to basketball matches.
The man who, less than a week ago, had been telling me he missed me so much, that he couldn’t wait to see me, had apparently decided I no longer existed.
Cool. Very cool.
I unlocked my phone and stared at my last message to him. A simple:
"What time are you picking me up from the airport <3"
Sent. Read. Ignored.
I clenched my jaw and rolled onto my stomach, glaring at my laptop screen where my non-refundable plane ticket sat in my email inbox. A round-trip flight from Nice to Munich, purchased in what I now recognized as the stupidest burst of romantic optimism I’d ever had.
What was I supposed to do now? Cancel? Waste the money and sit at home, marinating in my own heartbreak like some tragic rom-com protagonist?
Absolutely not.
He may have ghosted me, but I’d be damned if I let some spineless man ruin my weekend. If nothing else, I was going to Munich. I had been there quite often for him anyway; I can figure out town for myself. And if nothing else, I was going to eat overpriced pastries, wander through fancy boutiques, and romanticize the hell out of my heartbreak.
So that’s exactly what I did.
I packed my bags and boarded the plane with all the enthusiasm of someone heading to their own public execution.
…
Munich was cold, and I was hungry—a dangerous combination for my already fragile mood.
I had spent the last hour walking through Englischer Garten, trying to shake off the lingering irritation of being ghosted. Fresh air was supposed to be good for you, right? It was supposed to clear your head, restore balance, whatever.
Did it work?
Not even a little.
I even stopped by the Eisbachwelle, where wetsuit-clad lunatics flung themselves into freezing water, attempting to surf a man-made wave in the middle of the city. I lingered for a while, waiting for the sight of someone wiping out spectacularly to cheer me up. A little Schadenfreude, as the Germans call it.
But even that failed me.
A guy faceplanted so hard that his board smacked him in the ribs, and all I felt was secondhand embarrassment. Not a single drop of joy.
Which meant I had officially lost my edge.
I needed a reset. Something warm, salty, buttery, preferably in the shape of a large pretzel.
So when I spotted a small bakery stand in Marienplatz, I knew what had to be done.
There it was. The last Brezn.
Golden brown, perfectly crisp on the outside, still steaming slightly. It looked like a hug in food form. The kind of thing that could turn your entire day around, that could restore faith in humanity, that could—
A hand shot out at the same time as mine.
Before I could react, the pretzel thief had already handed over his cash, nodding a polite danke to the vendor as if he hadn't just robbed me blind in broad daylight.
I stood there, hand still hovering mid-air, fingers closing around absolutely nothing.
The guy—the criminal in question—didn’t even hesitate. He just took a bite, slow and deliberate, as if he were performing for a food commercial.
I should have just let it go. But I was cold, hungry, and, quite frankly, on the verge of snapping.
“Excuse me?” I said, my voice teetering dangerously close to customer service polite.
He finally turned toward me, mid-chew, like he hadn’t just committed culinary theft.
Up close, he was—unfortunately—pretty easy to look at. Tall, broad-shouldered, with sharp features softened only slightly by a full head of thick, dark blonde hair. The kind of guy who looked like he belonged in an expensive ad campaign, modeling watches he probably didn't even know how to read.
His gaze flicked down at me, scanning me with the casual arrogance of a man who had never had to fight for the last anything in his life.
“Problem?”
I crossed my arms. “You just stole my Brezn.”
He glanced down at it. Then, without even a hint of remorse, ripped off another piece and tossed it into his mouth.
“Oh?” he said, chewing. “Didn’t see your name on it.”
I let out a slow breath through my nose. “You cut the line.”
He shrugged. “I don’t wait in lines.”
I squinted at him. “Oh, wow. That must be so difficult for you.”
“It is,” he replied, entirely serious, before popping another bite into his mouth.
I stared at him. He stared back.
This was a test from the universe.
“I think I deserve it more,” he said finally, still looking alarmingly relaxed about this whole thing.
“Oh yeah?” I deadpanned. “And why’s that?”
He licked a bit of salt off his thumb—unnecessarily slowly, might I add—before replying, “I’m barely ever home. Haven’t had one of these in months.”
I exhaled sharply, glancing at the vendor like maybe—just maybe—there was another pretzel hiding in a secret stash somewhere. But no. This was it.
This stranger had not only taken the last Brezn but was now making a compelling case as to why he deserved it more.
I had two choices:
1. Accept defeat like a normal, functioning adult.
2. Die on this hill.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling particularly mature today.
“Well,” I said, shifting my weight onto one leg. “I actually had a really rough week. So if we’re doing the who deserves it more competition, I’m pretty sure I win.”
He raised an eyebrow, looking far too amused for someone who had just ruined my day. “Oh yeah? What happened?”
I opened my mouth, then hesitated.
“Let’s just say I’ve had a series of unfortunate events that have led me here, to this exact moment, where all I wanted—all I needed—was a Brezn.” I gestured toward the offending baked good, still clutched in his ridiculously nice hands. “And yet, here we are.”
He considered that for a moment, like he was actually entertaining the idea of handing it over.
Then, after a beat, he simply swallowed, dusted the salt from his fingers, and said, “Still not giving it to you.”
I blinked. “You’re actually the worst.”
“Probably,” he agreed, unbothered.
And then—because apparently, this interaction wasn’t infuriating enough—he shot me a quick smirk, turned on his heel, and walked away.
With my pretzel.
I watched his retreating figure, the back of his stupidly nice jacket, the annoyingly confident way he walked, and considered my life choices.
Maybe I should have just tripped him.
…
By the time I reached Jamal’s apartment, I had mostly let go of the pretzel theft.
Mostly.
Fine, not at all, but I was telling myself that because I refused to let some random bread bandit ruin my entire weekend.
I rang the doorbell, and within seconds, the door swung open to reveal Jamal Musiala—failed Raya date turned best mate.
We had met on the app ages ago, but within the first five minutes of real-life conversation, it was abundantly clear that we were better off as friends. No awkward tension, no will-they-won’t-they—just immediate sibling energy.
And when he heard about my spectacular disaster, he didn’t even hesitate.
"Cancel the hotel. My guest room is free. You’re staying with me."
Which was how I ended up here, standing in his doorway while he pulled me into a quick hug.
"Yo! Finally made it," he said, immediately pulling me into a hug.
"Survived another international flight," I sighed, stepping inside and already feeling the tension in my shoulders ease.
He grabbed my bag, tossing it near the door like it was his personal mission to make sure I did absolutely nothing for myself this weekend. "Long day?"
"You have no idea," I muttered, collapsing onto the couch. "Between the baby on the flight and some guy testing my patience on the streets of Munich, I was one bad moment away from throwing hands."
Jamal raised an eyebrow, already amused. "Define ‘testing your patience.’"
I waved a hand. "Eh, some random dickhead cut in front of me at a bakery. Took the last Brezn. Very tragic. Anyway, I’m over it now."
Jamal snorted. "You don’t sound over it."
"I’ve grown as a person," I said solemnly, grabbing the tea he handed me. "Anyway, enough about me. What’s new? Got any hot gossip?"
"Nothing as dramatic as your bread wars," he teased, settling into the chair across from me. "But I’m still reeling over the fact that you thought long-distance dating was a good idea."
I sighed, taking a long sip of my tea. "Alright, go on. Get it out of your system."
He smirked. "No, no, I just think it’s inspiring. You—who has approximately zero patience for time-wasters—thought dating someone five countries away was a solid plan."
I gave him a look. "It made sense at the time!"
Jamal raised an eyebrow. "Did it?"
I groaned. "Yes! In theory, long-distance means built-in space. No pressure to see each other all the time, no risk of losing yourself in the relationship. You still get your own life. It’s all very mature, very evolved."
"Ah yes," he nodded seriously, "a relationship with absolutely no quality time. Revolutionary."
I ignored him. "It worked perfectly for me."
Jamal leaned forward, grinning. "I think you’re saying he just didn’t make you fall head over heels properly."
"I’m saying it was a noble experiment that failed," I corrected.
"You rationalize love like it’s a business deal," he said, shaking his head. "I bet you made a whole pros and cons list before agreeing to this relationship."
I pursed my lips.
Jamal’s eyes widened. "Oh my God. You did."
"It was a very casual list," I mumbled into my mug.
He threw his head back, cackling. "You’re mental."
I scowled. "Some of us like to make informed decisions, Jamal."
"And some of us," he grinned, "realize that love isn’t an investment portfolio. It just happens."
I squinted at him. "That sounds like something people say when they want me to shut up."
"That too," he admitted, still smirking. "Anyway, I invited a friend over for FIFA later—hope you don’t mind."
I waved a hand lazily. "No problem. I’m gonna take a long shower first anyway."
…
The shower did its job. By the time I stepped out, warm and wrapped in one of Jamal’s oversized hoodies, I felt lighter. Like maybe this weekend wasn’t a complete disaster. Maybe I could just enjoy being in Munich, enjoy my friend’s company, and ignore the nagging feeling that I had flown here for absolutely no reason.
Then I stepped into the living room.
And froze.
Because sitting on Jamal’s couch, controller in hand, was none other than the Brezn thief himself.
I stopped so abruptly I nearly slid on the hardwood floor.
He looked up at me mid-game, one hand casually flicking the joystick, the other resting against the back of the couch like he had all the time in the world. His dark blond waves were slightly damp, like he’d just showered too, and he was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt that looked unfairly good on him.
For a split second, I thought maybe the universe was punishing me. That this was some kind of elaborate karmic joke.
Then he grinned, slow and lazy.
“Oh,” he said, far too casually for my liking. “It’s you again.”
I narrowed my eyes. “Are you following me?”
Jamal—completely oblivious to the mounting tension in the room—paused the game and looked between us. “Wait. You two already know each other?”
The man—who I now knew was not just some random bakery menace but an actual acquaintance of Jamal’s—stretched his arms out in front of him like he was completely at ease, shooting me a look that was somewhere between amused and smug.
“We met earlier,” he said, still grinning like he found this whole thing hilarious. “Had a little disagreement over a pretzel.”
I crossed my arms. “I wouldn’t call it a disagreement. More like an act of blatant food theft.”
Jamal let out a loud laugh. “Oh my God. You’re the Brezn guy?”
I turned to him, betrayed. “You’re taking his side?”
“Oh, I’m on no one’s side,” Jamal said, still grinning. “I just can’t believe you’ve been ranting about this all evening, and it turns out it was Kenan.”
Kenan.
I turned back to him, my brain finally catching up. Kenan Yıldız. The name suddenly clicked into place. Juventus player. Young star. He had been on all the football news headlines lately, yet I hadn’t recognized him when we’d been too busy arguing over baked goods.
Kenan leaned back against the couch, clearly enjoying every second of this.
“If it helps,” he said, “I did think about giving it to you.”
I scoffed. “Wow. So generous.”
“Didn’t, though,” he added, eyes gleaming.
I inhaled sharply, mentally weighing the pros and cons of throwing a pillow at his head.
Jamal, meanwhile, was still thoroughly entertained. “Alright, alright. Before you two start a war in my living room, sit down. We’re playing FIFA.”
I dropped onto the couch, watching as he passed a controller to Kenan. “Oh, fantastic. I get to witness high-quality gameplay firsthand.”
Kenan barely glanced at me as he selected his team. “That sounded sarcastic.”
I took a sip of my drink. “That’s because it was.”
Jamal grinned. “You talk like you’ve seen him play before.”
I gestured toward the screen. "The evidence is right there. You haven’t even started playing, and I can already see the classic overconfidence."
Jamal burst out laughing. “Oh, this is great. I love this."
Kenan tilted his head slightly. “You think I’m bad at FIFA?”
I leaned back, stretching my legs out. “I think you think you’re good, which is way worse.”
Jamal wheezed. “Mate, she’s calling you a fraud.”
Kenan finally smirked, something sharper in his expression now. “Alright then. Play me.”
I scoffed. “Why would I waste my time proving something I already know?”
Kenan handed me a controller. “Because I think you’re all talk.”
Jamal let out a low whistle. “Damn. You gonna let him say that?”
I squinted at Kenan, assessing. He looked too confident, too pleased with himself, like he had already decided I was going to lose.
Big mistake.
I stretched my arms, feigning boredom. "Fine. But when I win, you’re buying me a Brezn."
His grin widened. “Deal.”
Jamal leaned forward, rubbing his hands together. “Alright, this is officially the most invested I’ve ever been in FIFA.”
The match started, and I quickly realized three things:
1. Kenan was as smug as humanly possible.
2. I was not as bad as he expected.
3. I was still losing.
“You sure you’ve played this before?” he teased, passing circles around my defense.
I gritted my teeth. “Yes.”
“You sure?”
“Shut up.”
And then—he scored.
Jamal burst out laughing as I dramatically collapsed against the couch. “I’m going to throw this controller at your head.”
Kenan grinned. “You’re just mad because you’re losing.”
I exhaled, resetting. “Alright. I’m locked in now.”
Kenan smirked. “Oh? You weren’t trying before?”
“I was warming up.”
And then—I started to figure him out.
Kenan was good, but he was also comfortable. He played like someone who expected to win—which meant he wasn’t ready for surprises.
So I gave him one.
Instead of playing safe, I started forcing mistakes. Instead of predictable attacks, I threw reckless passes forward, sprinting onto them with zero hesitation.
And then—somehow, some way—I scored.
The room went silent.
Jamal’s eyes widened. “NO WAY.”
I shot up from the couch, genuinely thrilled, throwing my arms in the air like I had just won the World Cup. “LET’S GO!”
Kenan blinked at the screen, processing. “...Alright. That was decent.”
“DECENT?” I laughed. “That was incredible. That was a masterpiece. Someone call FIFA, that was the best goal of the year.”
Jamal was dying, doubled over in laughter. “She’s actually celebrating like she won the league.”
Kenan shook his head, but he didn’t say anything.
Jamal leaned toward him. “You good, man? I think she actually rattled you.”
Kenan exhaled sharply, rolling his shoulders. “One goal means nothing.”
I grinned. “You sound stressed.”
“I’m not,” he said flatly.
“You look stressed.”
Kenan didn’t even respond. He just restarted the match, jaw set, eyes focused.
And that’s when I realized—he actually cared.
I had gotten to him.
And that fact alone made my entire weekend.
The rest of the game was pure chaos. I spent the entire match talking, commentating my every move like I was a sports announcer, making Jamal cry with laughter while Kenan did his best to block me out.
And then—somehow, against all odds—I scored again.
Jamal fell to the floor. “SHE DID IT AGAIN.”
I jumped up, clapping my hands together, absolutely beaming. “Someone get the cameras! Someone call ESPN!”
Kenan exhaled, dragging a hand down his face.
Jamal cackled. “I think this is the happiest I’ve ever seen her.”
Kenan looked at me then, properly looked, and for a split second, there was something undeniably fond in his gaze.
He didn’t say anything, just shook his head with a tiny, reluctant smile.
I flopped back down, grinning wildly. “Kenan, should I go pro?”
“You should retire while you’re ahead,” he muttered.
I smirked. “So you admit I’m ahead.”
Kenan sighed, picking up his drink. “I’m not talking to you anymore.”
Jamal wheezed. “Nah, man, you lost. Accept it.”
I stood up, stretching lazily. “I believe you owe me a Brezn, Yıldız.”
With a giggle, I wandered into the kitchen, grabbing a coke from the fridge, still riding the high of my victory.
Behind me, I heard Jamal got up, grabbing his phone. “Food’s almost here—I’ll go down and get it.”
The appartment was quiet now besides the sound of a controller being set down. A pause.
Then, Kenan’s voice, low and even.
“She’s unbearable.”
I grabbed a coke and turned around, only to find him already walking into the kitchen.
He moved with the kind of easy confidence that was impossible to ignore, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt slightly, like he had all the time in the world. I expected him to go for a drink himself, but he just leaned against the counter, watching me.
I raised an eyebrow, taking a slow sip. “Let me guess. You came in here to process your humiliating loss in private?”
His lips twitched. “I came in here to see if you’d finally crack and admit you got lucky.”
I scoffed, setting my drink down with dramatic emphasis. “Lucky? Oh, that’s cute. You think this was luck.”
Kenan tilted his head slightly, like he was really considering it. “Mmm. Either that, or you tricked me into underestimating you.”
I gasped, pressing a hand to my chest. “Are you suggesting I played mind games with you?”
His eyes glinted with something just shy of admiration. “I wouldn’t put it past you.”
I smirked. “You’re right. I totally did. And I’d do it again.”
Kenan’s lips curled at the edges, like he wasn’t going to give me the satisfaction of admitting anything. But his gaze flickered—just for a second—down to my mouth before locking back onto my eyes.
There was a beat of silence, not awkward but charged.
His voice was lower when he spoke again. “I’ll get you back for that.”
I raised my eyebrow. “Sure you will.”
Before he could respond, Jamal’s voice rang out from the hallway. “Food’s here!”
Kenan stepped back, running a hand through his hair before nodding toward the door. “Come on, winner. Let’s eat.”
I followed, my smirk still lingering.
For the first time all weekend, I felt genuinely good.
…
It had gotten late the night before. Later than expected.
Jamal had ordered food, we’d all ended up sitting around, eating, talking, and somehow, between full stomachs and heavy eyelids, Kenan had ended up crashing on the couch. It wasn’t planned—just one of those things that happened when the night stretched longer than you thought it would.
I had barely registered it at the time, already halfway asleep in Jamal’s guest room, but when I woke up the next morning and wandered into the living room, there he was.
Kenan Yıldız. In all his six-foot-something, professional athlete, half-asleep glory.
Sprawled out on the couch, one arm draped over his eyes, hair a mess of lazy curls, mouth slightly parted like he hadn’t fully re-entered consciousness yet.
I stared for a second too long, mostly because I wasn’t used to seeing him like this—soft around the edges, not smirking or arguing with me—before clearing my throat.
“You know, Jamal does have an actual guest room.”
Kenan didn’t move, just let out a low, sleep-roughened grumble that was probably a sentence in some language I didn’t speak.
I rolled my eyes, walking into the kitchen. “I’m going to get breakfast. If you’re alive in the next five minutes, feel free to come along.”
He was already pushing himself up onto his elbows, blinking like he wasn’t fully convinced the day had started yet. “Where’s Jamal?”
I grabbed my coat. “Still dead to the world.”
Kenan ran a hand through his hair, exhaling through his nose. “Smart man.”
…
The café was small, tucked away from the main streets, the kind of place that felt warm the second you walked in. The smell of fresh bread and espresso filled the air, and despite the morning chill outside, it was cozy, inviting, the kind of place people actually took their time in.
I relaxed a little the second I stepped inside.
Kenan scanned the space, hands in his pockets, taking it in like he was mentally scoring it. “Not bad.”
I scoffed. “Not bad? This is an elite breakfast spot.”
He smirked. “I’ll decide once I taste the food.”
I rolled my eyes but before I could continue defending my flawless café selection, I noticed a small interaction at the counter.
A barista—young, probably new—was clearly overwhelmed, trying to juggle too many things at once. She fumbled slightly with the coffee machine, hands moving fast, eyes flicking to the growing line like it was personally taunting her.
The businessman at the front, impatient and already checking his watch, let out a loud, exasperated sigh. “Jesus, is it always this slow?”
I didn’t mean to intervene.
It just kind of… happened.
I leaned slightly against the counter, offering a calm, easy smile.
“Take your time. It’s way too early for people to be this impatient.”
The words weren’t pointed, not really, but they carried just enough weight to cut through the tension.
The barista glanced at me, a flicker of relief in her expression before she nodded quickly and refocused on the drink in front of her.
The businessman, unimpressed, muttered something under his breath but dropped it, grabbing his coffee and stalking off.
Kenan, silent up until now, turned his head slightly toward me, like he was seeing me differently for the first time.
I ignored it, focusing back on the menu.
When we finally stepped up to order, the barista, still looking a little frazzled but better, managed a small, genuine smile.
“Thanks,” she murmured, adjusting her apron. “Some people are just…” She trailed off, rolling her eyes slightly, as if she couldn’t quite find the right word.
“The worst?” I offered.
She laughed. “Yeah. That.”
Kenan was still watching me, but now there was something else behind it.
Something almost amused.
“So you do have the capacity to be nice,” he mused, smirking as we stepped aside to wait for our drinks. “Interesting.”
I scoffed, stirring a sugar packet between my fingers. “I am perfectly capable of being nice.”
Kenan raised a brow, feigning deep contemplation. “Mmm. Just not to me?”
“The barista never stole my pretzel.”
He let out a low, lazy laugh, shaking his head as if he almost respected the answer. “Fair point.”
I took a sip of my coffee, pleased with myself, but before I could gloat, the barista returned, sliding an extra croissant onto our tray.
“On the house,” she said with a grin. “For being nice.”
I shot her a bright smile, but that smile slightly fell when I turned back to Kenan, I caught him watching me.
Not smirking. Not teasing.
Just looking.
It wasn’t obvious, nothing overt or lingering enough to call attention to itself. But there was something there—something unreadable, like a thought passing through his mind before he could decide what to do with it.
I frowned. “What?”
Kenan blinked, shaking his head slightly like he was resetting his expression. “Nothing.”
I squinted at him. “You’re weird.”
He smirked. “And yet, you invited me to breakfast.”
I rolled my eyes. “Because I was feeling charitable.”
Kenan took a slow sip of his coffee, eyes still flickering with something I couldn’t quite name.
“Lucky me.”
And for some reason, that sentence stayed with me longer than it should have.
…
The rest of the day, after dropping Jamal’s breakfast and Kenan went home, I was on a mission.
Enough sulking. Enough rehashing why I was even here. If I was going to spend a weekend away, I was going to make something of it—starting with the one thing that had never failed to lift my spirits.
Retail therapy.
Now, let’s be clear—I wasn’t the kind of person who regularly indulged in luxury shopping sprees. I was a firm believer in financial responsibility and splurging on sales.
But sometimes—just sometimes—a girl needed to treat herself.
I had no intention of actually buying anything.
But the moment I stepped inside Saint Laurent, something in me shifted.
Maybe it was the soft golden lighting, making everything look like it belonged in a dream. Maybe it was the quiet elegance of it all, the way the sales associates moved like they had all the secrets to life itself.
Or maybe, for the first time all week, I felt like I deserved something just for me.
I started with the handbags, lightly running my fingers over smooth leather and delicate gold clasps, trying to soak up the feeling of being in a place that felt so effortlessly put-together.
And then—I saw it.
It wasn’t a bag.
It was a dress.
Simple, timeless, and undeniably perfect.
I hesitated for a second, fingers hovering over the fabric, wondering if I was allowed to try something this nice on.
Then a sales associate appeared, smiling warmly. “Would you like to see how it fits?”
I bit my lip, a little shy. “Oh, I was just—”
But then, in a rare moment of self-indulgence, I nodded. “Actually… yeah. Why not?”
And that was how it started.
Five minutes later, I was standing in front of a mirror, staring at a version of myself I hadn’t seen in a while.
The dress fit like it was made for me.
It hugged just right, elegant but effortless, like I’d just thrown it on and magically looked stunning. The kind of dress that didn’t need accessories or complicated styling. It just… worked.
I smoothed my hands over the fabric, twirling just slightly, inspecting every angle.
And for the first time all weekend, I actually smiled at my reflection.
The saleswoman clasped her hands together. “That’s the one, isn’t it?”
I exhaled, still staring at myself. “You’re very good at your job.”
She laughed. "You look stunning, dear."
I let out a small, giddy giggle, the kind I hadn’t heard from myself in a while. It felt nice, to like how I looked—to do something that was just for me, without a single ounce of guilt attached.
For once, I wasn’t overthinking it.
I wasn’t analyzing whether I should or shouldn’t.
I was just happy.
So before I could talk myself out of it, I lifted my chin and said, “I’ll take it.”
As I handed over my card, I thought about where I’d wear it.
Jamal’s match tonight. The VIP box.
And then, out of nowhere, another thought crept in—one I definitely didn’t mean to have.
What if Kenan sees me in this? Surely he would be there too.
The moment the thought fully registered, warmth crept up my neck and into my cheeks.
I nearly choked on my own internal monologue.
I shook my head quickly, forcing down the blush before the saleswoman could notice.
I wasn’t buying this for him. Obviously. No. This was just for me.
…But if Kenan happened to see me in it, well.
That wasn’t my fault.
….
By the time I arrived at Allianz Arena, I felt genuinely lighter.
Maybe it was the crisp night air, the buzz of excitement in the crowd, or the fact that I was actually looking forward to something for the first time in days.
Or maybe, just maybe, it was the fact that I felt good in my new dress.
The stadium lights shone down as I made my way to the VIP section, clutching my pass. The energy inside was electric, fans already singing, the deep thrum of anticipation settling over the stands.
I stepped inside the box, scanning the seats for Jamal, when a familiar voice cut through the crowd.
I turned, already knowing who it was before I even saw him.
Kenan stood next to me, hands tucked casually into his pockets, his usual smirk firmly in place. The stadium lights did unfair things to his features, casting a warm glow over his already obnoxiously handsome face, and for a split second, I hated that he had the nerve to look like that in any setting.
His gaze flicked down ever so slightly, scanning my dress before he met my eyes again.
“You look good.”
I blinked, caught slightly off guard by the lack of sarcasm in his voice.
Then, as if he could sense me registering the compliment too much, he added, “Unexpected, really.”
There it was.
I let out a scoff, placing a hand on my chest. “Oh my God, Kenan. That was almost a normal, genuine compliment. You must be exhausted.”
He hummed, nodding. “Yeah, I don’t know what came over me. Won’t happen again.”
“Shame,” I teased. “I was really enjoying the moment.”
He shook his head, biting back a smile. “So, what brings you here? Finally expanding your horizons past FIFA?”
I crossed my arms. “Actually, I’m here for Jamal. Some of us support our friends.”
Kenan nodded slowly. “Mmm. And yet… you’re standing here, talking to me instead.”
I opened my mouth to fire back, but before I could, the stadium erupted in cheers, the players stepping onto the field.
I turned my attention to the match, trying to pretend I wasn’t slightly flustered.
Kenan, however, didn’t seem as interested in the game as he was in continuing his favorite pastime: annoying me for fun.
“So, be honest,” he murmured, leaning in slightly. “You understand the rules of football, right?”
I gave him a dry look. “Wow. Incredible assumption. You see a woman at a match and immediately assume she doesn’t get it?”
Kenan grinned, unbothered. “No, I just see you at a match and assume you’re mostly here for the snacks.”
I gasped. “Excuse me, I am deeply invested in Jamal’s career.”
Kenan hummed, clearly not convinced. “Okay. What position does he play?”
I stared at him. “...Defense?”
Kenan smirked. “He’s a midfielder.”
I groaned, throwing my hands up. “Alright, whatever, I’m here for vibes and friendship. Sue me.”
Kenan chuckled, his eyes twinkling with pure amusement.
For once, I didn’t feel annoyed by it.
I turned back to the field, taking in the sheer energy of the stadium, the rush of excitement that rippled through the crowd.
And out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kenan watching me.
I glanced at him. “Aren’t you supposed to be watching the match?”
His smirk didn’t waver. “I am.”
Something warm and fluttery settled in my stomach before I could stop it.
…
By the time the match ended, I was happily full of stadium energy but tragically underfed.
The VIP box had food, sure, but it was the kind of small, fancy bites that looked better than they tasted. You know, the kind that was supposed to be "elevated dining" but just made you angry and hungrier.
I popped another tiny canapé into my mouth and sighed dramatically.
Kenan, who had been watching me struggle with barely concealed amusement, finally smirked. “You’re starving.”
I turned to him, offended. “I am not starving.”
Kenan gestured lazily to the criminally small appetizer on my plate. “You just inhaled that in one bite.”
I crossed my arms. “Maybe I have a very refined palate.”
He snorted. “Right. That’s why you look physically betrayed after every bite.”
I sighed, defeated. “Okay, fine. Maybe I’m a little hungry.”
Kenan hummed like he was deep in thought, then glanced at his watch.
“Come on.”
I frowned. “What?”
He was already heading toward the exit, looking over his shoulder like it was obvious. “We’re getting food.”
I blinked. “Wait, seriously?”
Kenan chuckled, his expression full of mischief. “Trust me, anything outside is an upgrade from whatever that was.”
I tilted my head. “And what if this is an elaborate scheme to lure me into a suspiciously empty street?”
His smirk deepened. “I’d like to think if I wanted you gone, I’d be more creative than that.”
I considered it. “That’s… unsettlingly fair.”
…
Kenan’s car smelled unfairly nice—not in an overwhelming, aggressively expensive way, but in that effortless ‘I have my life together’ way. It was all clean leather, faint cologne, and something subtly fresh, like pine or citrus, the kind of scent that made you want to breathe a little deeper just to keep it around a second longer.
I did not breathe deeper.
Instead, I focused on the city outside, on the soft blur of streetlights streaking across the window as we drove through a quieter part of Munich. The streets were mostly empty, the chaos of match day behind us, and for the first time in what felt like ages, I wasn’t feeling weighed down by my own thoughts.
I was full, I was warm, and for once, I wasn’t thinking about him.
And then, Kenan spoke.
“So.” His voice was casual, almost offhanded, like he wasn’t about to upend my peace. “You never actually said why you were in Munich.”
I blinked, looking away from the window. “What?”
He glanced at me briefly, his fingers drumming idly against the steering wheel before he turned back to the road. “You don’t seem like the type to just book a random flight for fun.”
I scoffed, feigning offense. “Excuse me, I am very spontaneous.”
Kenan hummed like he didn’t believe me. “Right. And how many of these ‘totally random’ solo trips have you taken before?”
I opened my mouth. Paused. Frowned.
“…That’s not important.”
Kenan chuckled, shaking his head. “So, you’re telling me you woke up one day and thought, Munich sounds nice?”
I huffed dramatically, crossing my arms. “Maybe I did.”
Kenan shot me a pointed look that said ‘I know you’re full of shit.’
I exhaled, shifting in my seat. “Fine. I was supposed to see someone.”
He didn’t react—just kept driving, waiting.
It was almost worse than if he had immediately jumped in with a question.
I sighed, resting my head against the window. “But, uh… turns out he didn’t feel like seeing me back. And I had the ticket booked already.”
The words felt… lighter now, like they didn’t hold the same weight as they did a few days ago. Maybe because I’d said them out loud before. Maybe because I wasn’t alone with them anymore.
Kenan’s fingers flexed on the steering wheel, his jaw tightening for half a second before he spoke.
“Idiot.”
I blinked, turning toward him. “What?”
His voice was even, casual, but the way he said it was too sure, too final. “The guy. He’s an idiot.”
I let out a small, surprised laugh, shaking my head. “You don’t even know him.”
Kenan didn’t hesitate. “Don’t have to.”
Something about his certainty made my stomach twist.
I licked my lips, choosing to ignore the warm feeling creeping into my chest. “You’re very confident in that assessment.”
Kenan finally glanced at me, just for a moment, then looked back at the road. “Yeah. I am.”
The air in the car felt different all of a sudden, not uncomfortable, but charged.
I opened my mouth, about to say something to break whatever this was, when—
Kenan reached into the backseat, grabbing something, and tossed a small paper bag into my lap.
I frowned down at it. “What’s this?”
Kenan kept his eyes on the road, one hand resting lazily on the gear shift. “Something I saw.”
I gave him a suspicious look before reaching inside.
The first thing I felt was something soft.
And when I pulled it out, I actually gasped.
It was a Jellycat plush.
But not just any Jellycat plush.
A pretzel-shaped one.
Ridiculously soft, golden brown with tiny embroidered salt flecks, its round body twisted into a perfect loop, like an adorable, carb-shaped hug.
I stared at it, completely thrown.
My brain short-circuited.
I turned to Kenan, wide-eyed. “You—” I stopped, shaking my head, too stunned to be normal about this. “You got me a Jellycat pretzel?”
Kenan shrugged, like this was completely normal behavior. “Figured you’d appreciate it.”
I blinked down at my lap, still gripping the plush like it might disappear if I let go. “I—this is—I don’t even know what to say.”
Kenan smirked. “Wow. A rare moment.”
I ignored him, still reeling. “Wait. How did you—” My eyes narrowed as the realization hit. “Jamal.”
Kenan huffed a small laugh. “Jamal.”
I groaned, slumping back against my seat, embarrassed beyond belief. “I swear, he’s worse than an actual gossip column.”
“He told me the full pretzel tragedy while you were shopping this morning.” Kenan’s lips twitched. “Said you looked genuinely devastated when I took the last one.”
I gasped, pressing a hand to my chest. “I was devastated.”
Kenan let out a real laugh, shaking his head. “Yeah, I got that impression. Little drama queen.”
I glanced back down at the plush, running my fingers over its ridiculously soft surface, warmth blooming in my chest for an entirely different reason now.
I swallowed. “Thank you. You didn’t have to do this, you know?”
Kenan exhaled through his nose, his smirk fading slightly. “I know.”
There was a small pause, then—
“I wanted to. I like to see you smile”
I froze.
Just for a second.
It wasn’t even what he said.
It was how he said it. Like it was simple. Like it wasn’t a big deal.
But it was a big deal.
I looked down at the Jellycat pretzel, tracing my thumb over one of the little embroidered salt flecks.
Kenan cleared his throat, like he wanted to move the conversation along before I got weird about it.
“I, uh—” He rubbed his jaw, focusing back on the road. “I couldn’t exactly smuggle a fresh one into the match, so I figured this would keep you warm in a different way.”
I swallowed, my grip tightening on the plush.
Somehow, slowly over the last few days, my heart stopped feeling so heavy.
I glanced at Kenan, and for once, he wasn’t watching me with his usual smirk or teasing expression.
He was just watching.
Like he was still trying to figure out why I looked so surprised.
Like he didn’t realize he had just completely disarmed me.
I turned back to the window, hiding my smile.
Kenan shifted in his seat, adjusting the air conditioning like he suddenly needed something to do with his hands.
He still hadn’t started the drive back to Jamal’s.
Good. I wasn’t in a rush to get anywhere.
…
I woke up earlier than expected, the kind of early where the world still felt half-asleep, where the streets outside hummed quietly with the first stirrings of the city.
The apartment was still, save for the occasional distant sound—pipes groaning as someone used the shower, the soft buzz of an electric toothbrush in another room.
And then—
A loud "OH, COME ON!" followed by rapid button-mashing and what I could only assume was a FIFA-related disaster.
I groaned, pressing my face into the pillow, trying to will myself back to sleep.
It didn’t work.
Instead, my hand reached instinctively for something beside me, fingers brushing against—
Oh.
I cracked one eye open.
There, sitting right beside my pillow, was the Jellycat pretzel plush.
Warmth bloomed immediately in my chest, completely uninvited.
It had been exactly where I left it, tucked neatly beside me like some ridiculous comfort object. I had slept next to it. Like some sentimental idiot.
I exhaled sharply, flopping onto my back and covering my face with my hands. “I’m losing it.”
Jamal’s distant FIFA agony continued in the other room.
I peeked at the plush again, this time reaching over to pick it up, squeezing it absently in my hands.
It was too soft. Too huggable. Too… thoughtful.
Kenan had really gone out of his way to find something like this. He had listened to Jamal’s retelling of my pretzel tragedy and then acted on it.
That thought alone did something weird to my stomach.
I needed to leave before I started reading into things.
After a long, slightly too-hot shower and a reluctant change into travel clothes, I zipped up my suitcase and walked into the living room, where Jamal was still intensely focused on FIFA.
“Morning,” I greeted, adjusting my bag strap.
Jamal barely looked up. “Yo. Ready for your flight?”
I nodded, shifting my weight. “Yeah, time to go back home. Thanks for letting me crash.”
He finally paused his game, stretching lazily. “No problem. You’re welcome to crash here whenever your love life implodes.”
I gasped, fake offended. “Excuse me, that was one time.”
Jamal smirked. “That was this time.”
I glared at him. “You’re very lucky I don’t have time to fight you about this.”
Jamal grinned, unpausing his game. “Safe flight, man. Oh—Kenan’s out front, by the way.”
I froze mid-step, my brain short-circuiting. “What?”
Jamal tilted his head toward the window. “I think he’s waiting for you.”
I blinked rapidly, my stomach flipping for reasons I refused to acknowledge.
Kenan was… waiting for me?
I didn’t even have time to process what that meant before my feet were already moving, slipping on my coat and heading for the door.
And sure enough—
When I stepped outside, there he was.
Leaning against his car, hands tucked into his pockets, his posture completely at ease, like he had been there for a while and had all the time in the world.
The moment he saw me, his lips curved into a smirk, like he had been expecting me to be surprised.
“You’re awake,” he said, as if he had any reason to assume I wouldn’t be.
I scoffed, shifting my bag higher on my shoulder. “What are you doing here?”
Kenan shrugged. “Driving you to the airport.”
I blinked. “I—what?”
He tilted his head slightly, amused by my confusion. “What, you thought I’d let you navigate Munich public transport with a suitcase?”
I narrowed my eyes. “I was literally just going to call an Uber.”
Kenan rolled his eyes, exhaling through his nose. “That’s boring.”
I stared at him, the weight of this entire situation settling into my brain.
Kenan—who had no reason to be here—had woken up, driven across the city, and was now waiting for me outside, completely unbothered, like this was just something he did.
I adjusted my coat, voice quieter. “You know you don’t have to do this, right?”
Kenan looked at me like I had just said something profoundly stupid. “Yeah. I know.”
I didn’t know what to do with that.
So instead of overanalyzing it to death, I just sighed, adjusting my bag.
“Fine. Let’s go.
…
When we finally pulled up to the departures area, Kenan shifted into park, tapping his fingers lightly against the steering wheel.
I unbuckled my seatbelt slowly, suddenly feeling like this was weirdly… final.
Like leaving now meant returning to normal.
And for some reason, I wasn’t ready for that.
I turned to him, opening my mouth to say… something.
But before I could, Kenan reached into his coat pocket and pulled something out.
A tiny bag of pretzels.
I blinked, thrown completely off guard. “You—”
Kenan smirked, holding it out toward me. “Figured you might need some snacks for the flight.”
I stared at him, something warm creeping into my chest before I could stop it.
I took the bag, shaking my head. “You’re trying to buy my goodwill?”
He leaned back against the seat. “You love it.”
I scoffed, but couldn’t suppress a smile. “Debatable.”
Kenan’s gaze flicked to my carry-on, and before I could register what he was about to say, his smirk deepened slightly.
“Did you pack the Jellycat?”
My face immediately heated up.
I opened my mouth—to lie, obviously—but Kenan just let out a laugh, shaking his head. “You did.”
I huffed. “No comment.”
Kenan’s lips twitched. “Good. It means my plan worked.”
I frowned. “Plan?”
He nodded toward the plush peeking slightly from the top of my bag. “Now you have to think about me every time you see it.”
My brain short-circuited.
I had no response to that.
I huffed, adjusting my bag. “Okay, well. Thanks for the ride, I guess.”
Kenan nodded once, casual as ever. “See you around.”
I hesitated for half a second.
Then, before I could stop myself—
I turned back to him one last time.
And said, without thinking:
“Don’t miss me too much.”
Kenan’s smirk was slow, lazy, and way too confident.
“No promises.”
I stared at him, my brain doing at least fifteen flips, before turning on my heel and walking inside before I could make this worse for myself.
I had no idea what had just happened.
All I knew was that my face was burning, and I was smiling like an idiot.
…
Back home, everything was exactly as I had left it.
The same apartment, the same slightly-too-loud coffee machine sputtering in protest before coming to life, the same half-empty fridge reminding me that I should really start grocery shopping like an adult.
Everything had resumed as normal.
And yet—
I found myself standing in my bedroom, suitcase still half-unpacked, as if some part of me refused to fully settle back into my routine. My fingers ran absentmindedly over the plush pretzel sitting on my bed, its soft, squishy loops an absurd but strangely comforting reminder of the past weekend.
I wasn’t supposed to still be thinking about him.
I wasn’t supposed to be replaying conversations in my head, breaking apart the way he had looked at me when he thought I wasn’t paying attention, the small shifts in his expression, the casual, almost careless way he had handed me that bag with the Jellycat and the pretzel, as if it hadn’t meant anything at all.
I let out a frustrated sigh, squeezing the plush against my chest like it was somehow responsible for all of this.
“You’re not helping,” I muttered at it.
Unsurprisingly, the Jellycat did not have a response.
I groaned, flopping onto my bed and burying my face into my pillow, as if that would somehow smother my thoughts into submission.
This was ridiculous.
I was being ridiculous.
I had gone to Munich with a very specific reason—to see someone who had ultimately proved to be unworthy of my time. But somehow, I had left with something else entirely.
A new inside joke. A new routine. A new, completely inconvenient way my stomach flipped whenever I got a text notification.
Which was precisely why I should not have reached for my phone just now.
But I did.
And when I turned it over—
There it was.
A new message.
From Kenan.
I hesitated for a beat, my thumb hovering over the screen, already knowing that whatever it said would only make things worse for me.
Then, finally, I clicked it open.
Kenan: Buy a nice winter coat.
I frowned, sitting up slightly as I typed back.
Me: Why?
The reply came almost instantly, as if he had been waiting for me to answer.
Kenan: I’m playing in the Netherlands next Wednesday.
Another message followed before I even had time to process the first.
Kenan: I need you to see how much better I am than Jamal, obviously.
I stared at my screen, my heart doing a very, very inconvenient thing, something warm and fluttery and deeply annoying settling into my chest.
I didn’t respond right away.
Because I already knew what I was going to do.
I was going.

I thought about Mav passed out at his work desk with headphones on and it spiralled into this whole thing
Mav always felt a little lonely.
Even when he had people around him who loved him, he always ended up on his own one way or another and felt that loneliness seeping in. Goose was the first to notice. Before Goose's trips back to Tennessee to see Carole included Mav, he would come back to base to hear about how his pilot had lost a bit of his shine while he was away.
That's when Goose started making the recordings.
It was a small gift, but it meant the world to Mav. A brand new walkman, headphones and all, and a single cassette tape. This tape didn't have music on it, no, it contained a three hour recording of Goose reading though the F-14 Tomcat Flight Manual and adding in his own comedic commentary.
He wasn't sure what Mav would think of it, but when he returned home from another trip and found his pilot curled up asleep on the lounge, headphones on, walkman clutched in his hands, the tape run through, he realised he had made the right decision. Once Mav stirred, realising Goose had returned, he pulled the RIO onto the couch and thanked him for how thoughtful and considerate of a gift it was. That it made him feel less alone.
Goose continued the recordings. They were simple things he could make while completing other work. An hour recording here of Goose rambling while he completed chores, half an hour recording there of Goose muttering while he completes some paperwork. Even after Mav started joining him on his trips to Carole and they inevitably became attached at the hip, Goose continued making recordings. They grew more sincere over time, telling Mav that he was loved and he was strong and could get through anything.
Maverick was very glad he continued making them. It was a piece of Goose he could always carry with him.
Because one day, Goose wasn't there anymore.
Ice was never quite certain why his wingman was always listening to music on a busted walkman, but he never questioned it.
That was until he was packing Mav an overnight bag after an accident and Mav had specifically requested the walkman. Ice had taken a closer look at it and seen the writing on the cassette.
‘GOOSE - 12’
Curiosity got the better of him and he pulled on the headphones and pressed play.
“Y'know, Mav-” It was Goose's voice, Ice realised with a pang deep in his chest, “- I'm pretty sure, by like, most, if not all, the laws of aviation, you should have broken our Tomcat's airframe several times over. I honestly don't know how she's still together-” There was the clinking of dishes and sloshing of water along with the distinct sound of a bristly, sudsy brush scrubbing metal. “- What sort of demon did you make a deal with to manage this? I'm not arguing, I'd rather not face a board of inquiry again, but I'm curious.”
Ice paused it.
He realised very quickly what the cassette was and that, judging on the number, there were more of these.
Mav was always listening to Goose talk.
He packed the walkman into the overnight bag with much more care than he offered possibly anything.
Mav stared.
He blinked once, then twice. But it changed nothing.
There was a cassette sitting on his bed. On it, was scribbled a name and a number.
‘ICE - 1’
Beneath it was a small, simple note.
‘Listen to me.’
Mav pushed the cassette into his walkman and, sitting down, let it play.
“Hey, Mav. Sorry if this is weird for you, it sure feels weird for me. I- uh- I realised what the walkman is for. I'm sorry I teased you for it, it's not dumb and old. I know Slider thought you were pretty cool for having one. He's got one too. But anyways, I found a recording of Goose and I realised why you have this so I thought, y'know, maybe I could make you some new ones? To make up for the teasing at least. I mightn't be as good as Goose but I'll give it my best shot. I've got a book here, I'm just gonna read it out loud for a while, okay? Okay. Here we go…”
Mav listened to the whole thing in one sitting. It was long and sweet and Mav felt something aching inside him, something that hadn't ached in a long time.
Every week or so, Mav would find another cassette in his room with an increased number on it. It was just Ice for a while, but then he found one labelled ‘SLIDER - 1’. Then another a few months later labelled ‘HOLLYWOOD - 1’, then ‘WOLFMAN - 1’. His collection grew as more people helped continue Goose's legacy.
The day he found ‘VIPER - 1’ he felt like he was five again. Viper's recording was two hours worth of him recounting childhood stories of Mav, stories of him with his parents, of just his parents, and deployment tales of his dad.
Once Mav buys his first proper home, an old hangar out in the Mojave Desert, he builds a small shelf to hold all of his cassettes instead of keeping them in a bag or a box. It's then, when they're all neatly organised together, that he realises just how many he has.
The original thirty-one from Goose.
Three from Carole.
One short one from Bradley.
Seventeen from Iceman.
Ten from Slider.
Seven each from Hollywood and Wolfman.
Four from Chipper.
Three from Sunny.
And, so far, Two from Viper.
He doesn't feel so lonely anymore. Everyone he loves has put time and effort into making sure he doesn't feel alone. That instead, he feel loved.
And he sure does.
Even now, years down the track, Ice will stumble upon Maverick passed out at his work desk late at night ontop of a half finished project, with his old walkman next to him, headphones on, listening to Goose laugh his way through the Tomcat manual.

lewis sighs tiredly as he lies down in bed next to you. the mercedes driver turns on his side facing you, and laughs quietly. your bonnet, of course, has grown a pair of legs and climbed its way off your head and is sleeping on the pillow next to you—your braids fanned out on the pillow underneath you unprotected. lewis carefully wrangles the bonnet back on you and smiles adoringly when he notices that you're wearing the matching bonnet he got you almost nine years ago. and to feel how the matching bonnets makes his heart stutter after spending a decade of his life with you, two of those years being married; he knows being married to you is one of the best decisions he’s ever made.
he tugs you, his wife, closer; cooing out loud when he notices that you’re clad in one of his tommy hilfiger hoodies, tucking your head under his chin, arms wrapping around you tightly, and legs intertwining comfortably. you hum against his chest, nuzzling deeper into his bare skin, and a faint smile lingers on your lips, and unconscious reaction to having your husband home again. lewis throws his head back groaning, he can’t wake you up now. you had spammed his phone with texts before his flight, promising that he’d get a “surprise” when he got home, for doing so well this weekend—and he doesn’t have the heart to wake you up just so he can fuck you. well, he thinks, he can just get a couple hours of sleep in and then he’ll wake you up and enjoy whatever gift you’ve decided to bless him with and he drifts into sleep.
when lewis wakes up again, the first thing he notices is that he’s slept for way more than a couple hours. the noon sun has brightened the room immensely, and he’s shocked that he managed to stay asleep for so long with how the sun is shining directly on his face. he shifts onto his back, groaning at the soreness left from racing, and glances down at you to see if your still sleeping, and chokes on his breath. his hoodie is rucked up your waist from sleep, exposing your black lace panties, and when he shifts to get a better view of your ass, his body jostles yours and reveals the silver shift of glitter in the fabric.
“fuck,” lewis murmurs, he’s always been weak for you dressing in his team colors. one of his tattooed hands takes a generous squeeze of your ass, and he wonders if you're wearing the matching top. his grip on your ass may have become a smidge too tight at that thought, because you softly gasp awake. lewis watches as you squirm against him softly, face twisted in confusion, before you make eye contact with him, and you relax.
you smile sweetly, your left hand rising to rest on his cheek, “welcome home, champ.” lewis laughs at your half-asleep tone, nuzzling his face into your hand, before turning to press a kiss at the ring he put on your finger. “it was only a second-place finisher, love. no need to call me ‘champ.’”
frowning at him, you scoff, “you are still a seven-time world champion, are you not?” lewis concedes to your point; he’s not interested in being scolded by you today—he’s more concerned with unwrapping the present you got him. he hums and noses at your chin before he captures your lips in a dizzying kiss. your lips are languid against each other, there’s no rush in rediscovering the crevices within your mouths. lewis ignores how your teeth tug at his bottom lip, urging him to speed up—he only deepens the kiss, not quickening his pace, coercing you to melt under his passion.
he pulls away, enjoying how your gaze has transformed from sleep-hazy to lust-hazy. “mmm, is my ‘surprise’ the panties and matching bra you have under my hoodie?” lewis asks you. you nod your head gently, scooting back and pulling the hoodie up to reveal the matching silver-glitter covered black bralette. he moans at the sight of you; perky breasts and nipples hard underneath the lace, your eyes half-lidded in arousal. his hands reach out to grasp at your chest, thumbs dragging over your nipples, causing a shaky moan to fall from your lips at the friction. you reach to pull the hoodie off but lewis grunts in dissent, “nah, keep it on for me. just make sure it stays up, love.”
“ohmygod,” you giggle quietly, “you can just say you’re obsessed with fucking me in your clothes.”
lewis rolls his eyes at you, “okay: i’m obsessed with fucking you in my clothes. i love the way you smell like me after, i love the way your smell lingers when i wear them after you, i love the way you look in my clothes; if i could choose, i wish you’d only ever wear my clothes and have pretty lingerie underneath them all the time.”
you stare at him wide-eyed, not expecting him to flip your teasing words in that manner, maybe that’s why your panties suddenly feel a little wet. you bite your lip, trying to think of a way to regain the upper hand, and lewis clocks your eyes brightening.
“i fingered myself open for you last night. i’m sure you could still slip in, if you’re up for it.”
lewis chuckles, half-crazed, and murmurs, “if i’m up for it? promise me, if i ever say no to having sex with you that you’ll take me to see a doctor?”
you hum, hand shifting to rub at the nape of his neck, “i promise, baby. can you fuck me now—i fell asleep waiting for you last night.”
lewis quickly gets to work positioning your body. he spins you around to your side, your back pressed against his chest, and spreads your thighs open with his knee. you moan at his easy manhandling, and press your ass back to grind against the tent in his boxers. he encourages the movement of your hips, even directing the grind for a few beats before he halts your motions. his hand slips in between the two of you, and tugs his dick out. he pulls your panties to the side and slowly slips into you. your mouth drops open in a silent moan, overwhelmed by the stretch from his dick spreading you open. lewis sighs deeply as he bottoms out within you, and kisses you on the shoulder. he stays still, allowing you the time you need to adjust. you shift your hips gently, testing the feel, and hum in assent.
lewis moves his hand to find yours, and locks them over your navel, using them to pull you as close to his body as he can. he whispers softly, “can we take it nice and slow today? i want to make love to you today.”you hum, and it shifts to a whine as his hips gently rock into yours, and whimper out, “it’s your present—can use it however you want.”
lewis keeps the motion of hips slow and controlled, pulling out halfway before sinking in as deep as he can reach. it’s stunning how you can feel every bit of love lewis puts into his thrusts, seeping into you. he continues to pepper kisses on your neck and shoulder, and slips his other arm underneath you, and moving your body slowly so you twist back further, exposing your chest to him again. the hoodie remains bunched under your armpits, and lewis tugs the bralette down underneath your chest, causing your breasts to spill out lewdly over the top. his hand rests over your chest, not groping in any manner, just holding you close, feeling how your heartbeat speeds up from his movements.
in the decade you’ve been in a relationship with lewis, you’ve had some life-changing sex. but, for some reason, the slow and sensual sex has to be your favorite. it feels restorative, like he’s breathing life back into your body, with every deep thrust he’s showing you how much he loves you. and he’s not afraid to say it either.
“i love you, so much—you’re so good to me—my wonderful wife—all for me—all mine—i’ll make you feel so good, love—forever, yeah—you and me, like this—i win everything for you—“
you rock back against him, always weak when he can help but run his mouth, and start rambling back to him, mouth loose from the pleasure he continues to give to you, “my oh! my husband—only you for me, yeah?” he moans into your neck, he doesn’t think he’ll ever get used to you calling him your husband.
there’s no telling how long the two of you are wrapped together, neither you are in any rush to reach a climax—you both crave the intimacy sex like this provides, especially after he’s been away. your orgasms crest over your bodies slowly but they’re more satisfying than any other release you could get from rough sex. lewis continues to grind his dick in you as deep as he can, not making any motion to pull out, and ignores the building sensitivity he’s feeling.
lewis smiles at the blissed out look on your face, and watches how you struggle to open your eyes; he’s been fucking you back to sleep this whole time—that would explain why your rambles disappeared as you got closer to your peak. he tugs the hoodie back down over your chest, and one-handedly drags the duvet to cover your bodies, not wanting you to get cold. “hey, love,” he calls softly, “do you want me to pull out and clean you up?” you shake your head, and turn back onto your side fully, pressing you back to his chest again, and you start to doze off. lewis rubs at your waist gently, soothing you further into sleep—he’s never going to say no to having you keep his dick warm.
lewis carefully reaches towards the nightstand and grabs his phone, and quickly sets an hour alarm. he won’t let himself be fooled by the call of sleep and let the whole day fly by, like he did last night—he’d rather not be awoken by his angry wife screaming about uti’s and whatnot. he’ll just bathe in the afterglow while you sleep soundly; he just wants to look after you a little longer.

tis the season
lea schuller x nwsl!reader
summary: surprises are apart of the christmas holiday
for @katelynnwrites
it’s two weeks before christmas when you make the final arrangements to fly back to munich.
the lie comes easily when you’re on the phone with lea, her voice soft and slightly tired after a long training day.
“i wish i could come,” you say, shifting on your couch as you stare at the tickets on your coffee table.
“but the pride has me doing all this promotional stuff… media shoots, a kid’s camp, the whole thing. you know how the off-season is over here in america.”
lea hums on the other end, a pause where you can tell she’s disappointed but trying to understand. “it’s okay,” she replies, though her voice says otherwise. “i know you’re busy.”
“you’re mad,” you tease lightly, trying to keep things playful so she doesn’t linger on it too much.
“i’m not mad,” she sighs, but you can practically see the pout on her face through the phone.
“i just miss you. christmas is better with you here.”
its time likes this when you regret leaving germany to pursue the more competitive league. yes, you weren't getting much play time at bayern (now being a starter for orlando and winning the league and championship) but at least you had your lea there with you.
“i miss you too, sonnenschein,” you reply softly, a pang of guilt settling in your chest.
you’re lying to lea, but for a good reason—one she’ll never see coming.
getting obi on board with your plan was surprisingly easy.
“so you’re telling me you’re flying back to propose to lea,” she says when you call her later that evening. you can practically hear the grin on her face.
“yeah,” you laugh nervously. “she has no idea. i’m gonna need your help sneaking around though… like a lot of help. can i stay at yours when i get in? i just need her to not know i’m there until christmas eve.”
“obviously,” obi replies immediately.
“this is gonna be so fun. she’s gonna kill me when she finds out i knew, but it’ll be worth it.”
“she’ll forgive you,” you grin.
obi laughs. “maybe. just don’t mess up the proposal, y/n.”
“not a chance,” you say confidently, though your heart starts pounding at the thought of the big moment.
when you arrive in munich two days before christmas eve, obi picks you up from the airport. the cold air hits you immediately, a stark contrast to florida’s weather, but it doesn’t bother you.
the city feels like home, even though you left for the opportunities in the nwsl. your chest tightens a little as you pass familiar streets and shops on the way to obi’s apartment.
“she thinks you’re still in orlando, right?” obi asks as she pulls your suitcase into her building’s elevator.
“yep,” you confirm, stretching your arms after the long flight.
“we talked last night. she said she’s just decorating and baking for her christmas party. apparently she invited half the bayern team.”
obi grins. “you’ll have quite the audience, then.”
“i’m not nervous about the crowd,” you lie, though your stomach flips just thinking about it.
“i’ll believe that when i see it,” obi teases, unlocking her apartment door.
“just keep quiet while we’re here. she’ll come looking for me eventually, and i’m a terrible liar.”
“got it,” you reply, plopping onto her couch. “and thanks again for this.”
“anything for my bestfriend and her lover,” obi says dramatically, earning an eye roll from you. but you smile anyway.
it’s christmas eve, two hours into lea’s party, when you arrive at the building you once called home. obi’s beside you, grinning like an accomplice in a heist. you take a deep breath as you stare up at the lit windows of lea’s apartment.
inside, you can hear music playing and faint bursts of laughter—probably giulia or sydney causing chaos.
“ready?” obi asks, handing you a santa hat to wear.
“ready,” you exhale.
obi opens the door, and the warmth hits you immediately as you step inside. for a moment, you’re frozen in place. the room is full of people—some of your old teammates, like tuva and giulia, as well as other familiar faces from bayern.
sydney spots you first, her face lighting up in pure shock as she nudges giulia beside her.
“y/n?!” sydney shouts, grabbing everyone’s attention. all at once, heads turn your way, and chaos ensues.
“are you kidding me?” giulia shrieks, pulling you into a hug that nearly knocks you over.
“what are you doing here?!” sydney adds, squeezing your arm as she laughs.
“merry christmas?” you offer, grinning as tuva joins the dogpile of hugs. you’re swarmed by familiar faces, everyone excited and surprised to see you back in munich.
across the room, by the tv, you finally spot lea. she’s standing there frozen, eyes wide, her lips slightly parted in disbelief. you can’t help but laugh at her stunned expression.
“did you know about this?” lea asks obi, her voice loud enough to carry over the chatter.
obi raises her hands defensively. “maybe,” she replies with a smirk.
lea gives her a light punch on the shoulder, shaking her head with a small smile.
when you’re finally done greeting everyone, you turn your focus to her. the room seems to blur as you make your way over, her eyes never leaving yours.
“hi,” you say softly, pulling her into a hug. she holds you tightly, her face buried in your shoulder as she exhales shakily.
“you lied to me,” she murmurs into your ear, though her voice holds no anger—just relief.
“i did,” you admit, kissing her temple.
“but it was for a good reason.”
she pulls back slightly to look at you, eyes narrowed playfully.
“you’re lucky i love you.”
“i know,” you grin, pressing a quick kiss to her lips before leading her toward the couch.
the evening feels like stepping back into a life you still hold close to your heart. you sit beside lea, your legs tangled as the two of you share cookies from a festive tray. her hand rests lazily on your knee as sam and georgia argue over which holiday movie to put on.
the room smells like cinnamon and pine, the soft hum of laughter filling the spaces between conversations.
it’s like you never left.
after a while, when the last of lea’s guests filter out just after midnight, you watch as she shuts the door, her movements slow as if the weight of the evening is finally catching up with her.
you finally got to say goodbye to obi, who gave you a hidden smirk before walking about the door.
“i didn’t think i’d see you this christmas,” she says softly, turning to face you. her smile is small but filled with warmth.
“i didn’t want to miss it,” you reply, standing up to meet her in the center of the living room. the apartment feels quiet now, the twinkle lights casting a soft glow across the space.
she steps closer, her arms wrapping around your waist.
“well, i’m glad you’re here.”
you take a deep breath, your heart pounding as you reach for her hands, gently pulling them away so you can hold them in yours. she frowns slightly, confused by the sudden seriousness in your expression.
“i need to talk to you about something,” you say quietly, meeting her gaze.
“go ahead,” lea swallows nervously.
“lea… ever since i met you back in 2020, i knew you’d be someone important to me,” you begin, your voice steady but soft.
“at first, it was just your smile—you were so confident, so full of life when you came from essen while I came from freiburg. then i got to know you a bit more as the first season together went on, and i realized just how special you are. you’re strong, lea. not just on the pitch, but as a person. you always take care of everyone else, even when you don’t have to. you have the biggest heart, and you love so deeply… being with you has made me better in every way.”
you pause to take a breath, feeling the emotion swell in your chest. lea’s eyes are wide, her hands squeezing yours tightly. you can see the tears already gathering at the edges of her lashes, but she doesn’t say anything—she just lets you speak.
“even after i left for orlando, even with the distance, we’ve stayed strong. you’ve been my home, no matter where i am. and i want to make that official. i want to spend the rest of my life with you, lea.”
you release one of her hands to reach behind you, pulling the small velvet box from your pocket. your heart pounds as you slowly drop to one knee, your gaze never leaving hers.
lea gasps softly, her hands covering her mouth. you smile up at her, your typical confident smirk softening into something far more tender.
“so,” you say, voice light but full of emotion, “will you marry me, sonnenschein?”
“you’re… you’re insane,” she breathes, reaching into her jogger pocket. your eyes widen as she pulls out her own velvet box, and suddenly she’s dropping to one knee as well.
you freeze, blinking at her in disbelief.
“lea, what…?”
she laughs softly, tears brimming in her eyes as she mirrors your position.
“you think you’re the only one who plans things, liebe?” her voice is shaky, her smile trembling as she opens the box in her hands, revealing a ring that catches the warm glow of the twinkle lights.
“i’ve been carrying this for weeks,” she admits, her cheeks flushed.
“i thought about waiting until you came back to munich for the next international break… but now you’re here. and i don’t want to wait anymore.”
there’s a moment where neither of you say anything, both of you kneeling on the living room floor, tears streaming down your faces as you stare at each other. your heart is pounding so hard you think she can hear it.
“so,” she continues, her voice soft, steady despite her shaking hands,
“if you’ll marry me… then yes, y/n, i’ll marry you.”
“you’re proposing to me while i’m proposing to you?” you choke out, a watery laugh escaping as you wipe at your face.
“looks like it,” she grins through her tears.
you don’t know who moves first, but suddenly you’re both laughing and crying, holding each other as the rings sit forgotten between you. you pull back just enough to look at her, cupping her face as you whisper, “yes, sonnenschein. a thousand times yes.”
“and yes to you, liebe,” she replies, leaning in to press her forehead against yours.
your hands are trembling as you both reach for the rings, and you can’t help but laugh when neither of you can slide them on properly at first. “stop shaking!” you tease, though you’re no better, fumbling with her finger as you finally slide the ring into place.
“you’re shaking too,” she fires back, laughing as she slips the band onto your hand with care. for a moment, you both just stare at each other’s hands, the weight of the moment settling in.
“we’re really doing this,” you whisper.
“we are,” she murmurs, smiling softly.
you don’t know who leans in first, but the kiss that follows is deep, filled with every unspoken word, every long mile you’ve spent apart, and every promise of the future you’re now building together.
when you finally pull away, your cheeks are wet, her eyes shining as she looks at you like you hung the stars in the sky.
“merry christmas, y/n,” she whispers.
“merry christmas, lea,” you reply, your voice soft, steady, and full of love.

I would like to know about your take on Jimin and Jungkook's car conversation in AYS. Do you think there was a break up?
First let me answer the second part of your ask. And then I'll talk about their car conversation.
Do I think Jikook had a break up?
NO. NOT AT ALL.
I think you got this idea about a break up cause we didn't get to see Jikook interactions during the Solo Era prior to AYS. Now, them not interacting publicly does not mean they don't interact at all. I'm sure they did meet up and spent time with each other BUT behind closed doors, in the security of their apartments. However that time was NOT ENOUGH for them who used to spent 24×7 together. Together during work hours and later relaxing at home but again together, prior to Solo Era. So, whatever time they had to spent apart was not by their choice but it was forced upon them. They had demanding schedules which kept them apart. And whatever time they spent together we didn't get to know about that cause they didn't feel the need to report it to us. They're not obliged to do that. However I think they were together in Jungkook's apartment from that time when Jimin showed up at the airport with a scratch on his arm which looks like a scratch from a big dog (Jungkook posted a pic of Bam around this time too)

Also, we wouldn't have known about Jikook having a sleepover at Jungkook's house the night before AYS Jeju if Jimin didn't share it with us.
And what about all those times Jungkook started a live every time Jimin boarded a flight from Korea? Did they spent time together before Jimin had to get on those flights? I can take a guess.
And what about the times Jungkook did a Jimin centric live (his smile while watching Jimin in that video 😭 Thats a man in love), teasing Jimin's SMF Pt 2, his reaction to SMF Pt 2, watching only Jimin's Suchwita, vibing and singing along to Angel Pt 1.
Jungkook being excited and lighting up like a Christmas tree whenever Jimin comments in his live. Trying to lure Jimin into doing a live with him using boxing, beer and fried chicken. What about that half naked live and their flirting back and forth making us all third wheels??!!
That's not how a person who went through a break up behaves with their ex.
Now let's talk about Jimin. Jimin writing a Love Ode, "Letter" for Jungkook with Jungkook doing the background vocals. A song which conveys how he's grateful for that one person who held him through his dark times, the person who believed in him when even he didnt believe in his strengths and how he hopes and wishes his forever to be with that person.
And then we have Jimin flying to New York to support Jungkook during his Solo debut. Not only that but he made plans to spent quality time with Jungkook cause he knew Jungkook needed it, he himself needed it, their relationship needed it. All under the veil of a travel show.
They're giving away major hints towards what their relationship is. Many times with their actions and then also with their words.
Now maybe you'll ask me if AYS came about cause they were trying to get back together from their " break up ". My answer is NO. The show was a guise (in my opinion) to spend time with each other. To make memories, to be carefree and simply be with each other. Cause the time they got to spend with each other before AYS was simply not enough for them.
This was why Jungkook said " You're here". Finally". He wanted Jimin to choose him, make time for him and their relationship. Cause he's only human and sometimes needs reassurances especially when more trying times (military service) was coming up.
Also, it was their first time in front of the cameras (there were so many) without the ot7 protection to provide them a cover. So, they were probably thinking what to show, what to say, how much they should say and how much they should show.
So, yeah I don't think there was a break up. Not during the Solo Era and not during the years before that.
Does that mean they never had arguments? Of course not. They surely had. But from what I have seen and heard they resolve it pretty quickly. Their verbal communication is solid. Jimin is good in expressing his feelings and we have seen how Jungkook gets chatty when it comes to Jimin. He speaks freely and openly with Jimin. Their non verbal communication is amazing (eye contact, body language and tone of voice). They're affectionate with each other. Openly show appreciation and give compliments. Should i even talk about how much they love each other??!! There's so much of it. Pure, unconditional love. The roots of their relationship are deeply secure.

All I see is two men who are in a long term relationship giving their all to make the best out of the available circumstances. I see how in love they're and how much they cherish their relationship.

Surprising Matt On Tour

In which Matt and his brothers start the verses tour, this is the longest that the two of you have been away from each other in a long time so you decide to surprise your boyfriend by going to see him on tour. . . .
Its about half way through the verses tour and the boys have a show in Chicago tonight. I decided a few day ago that since I had a few free days that I would go surprise Matt on tour. I packed up everything that I needed to go and headed to the airport. I go get my bag checked and head through security and now I'm just waiting to board the plane. The flight wasn't to bad but as soon as I got to the hotel it started to snow. After I get settled in I hurry to get ready before the show starts. I put on a fitted cropped long sleeve blue shirt with a pair of blue jeans and my black Ugg's. Then I do some light make up and pull my hair half up with a blue bow matching my shirt. Then before I leave the hotel I send Matt a text.
Good luck tonight I love you <3
I get to the venue while the boys are doing their first meet and greet of the night and I text Tril to come get me. He comes and lets me in then takes me to one of the rooms backstage. "Only a few more people in line so they should be back soon" Tril lets me know before going back to what he was doing to prepare for the show since he was preforming with them tonight.
A few minutes pass and I can feel the nerves in my stomach getting more intense as I hear the three familiar voices getting closer. The door opens making me turn around to face them and Matt immediately engulfs me into a huge hug picking me up off the ground as I wrap my legs around his torso. "No way you're real" Matt says as we pull away but he still holds me. "I wanted to surprise you" I say then he leans in for a kiss and puts me back on my feet letting me also greet Nick and Chris.
"That's going in the vlog" Nick says holding the camera. "Kid trampled me to get to her" Chris says making us all laugh. "Ok guys six minutes till show time" some guy with a headset tells the boys before exiting the room. "Have fun, I love you" I say kissing Matt once more before he has to go out on stage.
The entire time the boys were out on stage Matt just kept on looking over at side stage smiling, where I was standing watching them. The lights were hitting him just right, enhancing all of his best features. Making me even more infatuated with this man. I cant wait till after the show when we can actually spend some time together.
Matt ended up wining tonight's show and after his two brothers crowned him he walks over to side stage and pulls me out there with him. "Thank you to my amazing teammate and of course my good luck charm" Matt says pointing over at the girl he chose to be his partner tonight and pulling me close to his side. "I LOVE YOU" he yells at me into the microphone before pulling me in for a kiss. "You are crazy" I say pulling away and smiling at him. After the boys were done on stage and Tril performed a song at the end they had one last meet and greet to get through before they were officially finished with their Chicago show.
The meet and greet didn't take to long maybe another two hours or so. "Hi my sweet girl" Matt says hugging me with sweat pouring down his face. "You need a shower" I say scrunching up my nose teasing him and I watch him playfully roll his eyes. "You love me, sweat and all" he says wrapping me in a tight hug.
We all pile up on the tour bus and drive to the hotel since we're not going to their next show until the day after tomorrow. "We have our own room" I whisper to Matt and watch the look in his eyes shift to a look I know all too well. His hand tighten on my leg just above my knee as he bites his lower lip a little and I lean my head on his shoulder.
We arrive at the hotel and everyone is frantically trying to get off the tour bus and into an actual bed since they have been sleeping in bunks for a majority of the tour. Matt shoves his phone charger and a few other items into my purse before grabbing his suitcase from underneath of the bus. "Do you guys wanna get dinner, there's a smash burger like two blocks down" Chris asks Matt, Nick and I. "We're good" Matt says speaking for the both of us. "Yea I'll go just let me put my shit in the room first" Nick responds.
I lead Matt up to our room, he quickly throws his suitcase in before taking off to get a shower. While Matt's in the shower I open up his suitcase and reorganize the mess that he has made of it. I take out a pair of pajama pants and a white tank top, knowing that's what he will want to wear. I the take out his deodorant and hair brush from his backpack and place it on top of the clothes. After I'm finished situating all off Matt's things for him I decide to get changed. I peal off my jeans first since they were getting uncomfortable. As I'm bent over rummaging through my suitcase looking for pajamas I feel hands on my ass making me slightly jump at the sudden contact.
"You had these on all night" Matt asks as he traces his fingertips over my blue lace thong. "How about" he starts as he twists me around to face him, making me drop everything that was in my hands, "We get these off of you" he says continuing his sentence. "Jump" he instructs and I do as he says, wrapping my legs around his waist as he grips my ass tightly to hold me up.
He gently places me down on the bed and connects our lips. "You have no idea how much I've missed you" Matt whispers making me smile. He pulls my shirt over my head and quickly unclamped my bra that matched my blue panties. "You are so beautiful" he says kissing me once more. He then carefully slides my panties down and removes the towel from his waist as he hovers over top of me on the bed.
"I can't wait to be inside of you" Matt says trailing kisses down my neck. "I'm gonna make you feel so good baby" he says squeezing my ass as he continues kissing down my neck, earning breathily moans from me. "I need you" I whine at him with my arms wrapped around the back of his neck. I then see him grab his wallet off the night stand, assuming to get the condom that he always keeps in there. I look over and see a look on his face. "Fuck" he mutters throwing the black wallet back on to the night stand.
"What's wrong baby" I say sitting up to see what the problem is. "I never put a new one in here from when we used it last time, when we were at the cape" he says obviously irritated. "It's fine we don't need one" I say rubbing his arm. "(Y/n) I love you but we don't need a baby yet" he says. "No it's ok I started taking birth control a couple moths ago" I say and I see his face return back to his normal lustful gaze as he smashes his lips back on to mine.
"I cant wait to slide right in and see how good you really feel" Matt says kissing down my neck. " You are so perfect" he says as I feel his hands travel down between my legs. "Are you ready sweetheart" Matt asks as he rubs his tip between my wet folds. "Yes Matt please" I moan. He slowly slides into me all the way and begins to slowly thrust.
"God you feel so good" Matt moans making me want to cum right there. " Mmm Matt" I moan loudly as he continues moving at the soft slow pace. "Look at me baby" he says grabbing my jaw and making me look him in the eyes. "I love you so much princess" he says as I moan underneath of him. "I-i love yo-you" I moan barely being able to get out the words. Matt wasn't just having sex with me tonight he was making love and he made sure that I knew it.
"M-matt I th-think im" I try to tell Matt that I'm about to finish when all the sudden it came over me all so fast that I wasn't able to finish my sentence. My legs started to shake and feel weak as I became an even louder moaning mess as Matt continues to chase his own high. "Where do you want me to cum" Matt asks barely being able to contain himself any longer. "Please please please cum inside of me baby please" I beg him and after a few more soft slow thrust I feel him fill me up with his cum.
"You were so good" Matt says laying beside me and pulling my naked body onto his making me smile. "When did you get on birth control" he asks. "Like four months ago, after that one time when the condom broke and we had that scare" I respond. "A nd you didn't tell me... I could've been feeling how wet you really are and how good you actually feel" he says making my stomach flip, I love when this man praises me. A nd with that we both fall asleep tangled up in each other.

Australian kinda Christmas
Leah Williamson x Arnold!Reader

ava what is that shitty header photo job…
tumblr fucked up its quality
anyways I’ve been thinking about writing this one for ages now
enjoy <3
——————————
“C’mon love” you groaned at your 10th attempt to get your girlfriend up from your Power Nap. You pair were already late as it is “Don’t you wanna shower before you can’t for a whole 24 hours?” You asked, her head still buried in the pillows. She stayed like that, contemplating for another second before getting up and heading to the bathroom “Don’t be long” you said before tapping her butt just as she opened the bathroom door.
You got a text from your sister Mackenzie telling you that she was already at her lay over flight and would be boarding again in an hour. This year you pair didn’t get the same flight over for the Christmas break. But it was the first year you would both be bringing your girlfriends with you.
You and leah had been together 4 years now. The second year you spent Christmas with Leah’s family, last year you and mac both went with your parents overseas for Christmas. And this year you would both be bring Leah and Kirsty.
Some how an hour and a half later you were just passing security only just and were going to get some small snacks for the plane. Leah, with the food palate of a 6 year old. Got some watermelon gummies “They help with feeling sick on the plane” she tried to convince you as you glanced over the packet she said was holding.
“4 years and not once have you been sick on a flight” you said
“The headaches” she shrugged and smiled at you. Of course you were gonna grab them off her and buy them for her. You grabbed some random chip snack you found at the front counter and shorty paid before handing the bag to Leah to put in her carry on. You were both absolutely beyond excited. This would be her 5th time in Australia, so she’s been heaps. But you would be staying at your family’s new place on the Gold Coast, QLD. You both sat in the lounge near your gate as you took a photo of Leah as she threw a Lolly into her mouth while smiling. Quickly adding it to your instagram captioning ‘see you soon 🇦🇺’
———
After 26 hours of travel. And your sleepy girlfriend who was currently clinging to your bicep as she slept. It was asked to put on your seatbelts as you went for landing. You slowly woke Leah up slightly so she would be ready for it.
You held hands as Leah started giggling about her funny dream. You looked out the window and squeezed your girlfriend’s hand extra tight as you saw the coastline of Australia. You squealed like a little girl due to your excitement as Leah pressed a kiss to your lips. “Welcome home love” she said before laying back in her seat. You took photos and sent them to your dad and brother to let them know you would be at GC airport in about 45 minutes so they could you pick you both up. You also texted your mum just out of excitement before putting your phone away.
Once you and Leah had gotten off the plane, you walked your tired asses over to the baggage collection. Before you felt someone tap your shoulder. You turned to find your smiling dad and brother. You quickly clung on to them both in a huge hug “oh how i missed you oh my gosh” you said into your brothers neck with a sigh of relief. You also felt small hands tug your sweat shorts, you didn’t realise one of your nieces would be here too.
“Hello beautiful girl!” You squealed pulling away from your brother as you picked up your niece and spun the giggling girl around.
“I missed you so much!” She said before quickly clinging to your neck.
“I missed you so much more” you smiled back. You hadn’t seen the small girl since the World Cup back in August.
You held her on your hip as you turned around to see your girlfriend finally hugging your dad and brother Sam with a big smile. After struggling to get both of your large suitcases off the conveyor belt while you had your mini family reunion.
“Aunty Lee!” You niece squirmed in your arms as you put her down so she could run to Leah.
“Hello you!” Your girlfriend smiled and she knelt down to give her a big hug. It melted your heart the way she was with your nieces.
Leah handed you your suitcase as you pecked her cheek before you rolled it out the airport with your smiling niece riding on top.
“Hello” you yelled out once your dad unlocked the front door to your parents home. You were met with your mum, 2 nieces, Mackenzie and Kirsty all rushing around the corner at the sound of the front door.
You and Leah gave all of them bone crushing hugs and chatted for a little while, had some of the left overs that was left from their dinner since you told them not to wait. It was already 10pm. It was convenient for your girlfriend and you so you could just get yourselves straight to bed.
——————————-
After multiple days of walks down on the beach, family dinners, more surfing lessons for Leah, lots of jet lag, swimming pools and relaxation for you and your girlfriend. It was officially Christmas Eve night and you couldn’t have been more excited if you had tried.
You, leah, Macca and Kirsty were all on the living room floor carpet wrapping presents. Everyone else was in bed. But the four girls in their twenties were not as prepared as everyone else and still had to do all their wrapping.
The holiday played on the TV in front as you had about 40 gifts to wrap for people. For everyone in your family besides the people in the room with you currently. “Stupid wrapping paper argh!” You groaned knocking your head back in frustration as the huge cut of wrapping paper you cut wasn’t large enough by a few centimetres.
“See you didn’t even need to get that gift in the first place” Leah laughed. As you were wrapping your 20th gift for your parents, you comepletely spoil them every year.
You dragged Leah around the large shopping centre to get more gifts for people. “Baby you bought your mum the same scent candle last year i remember you showed me” she grinned as you looked at the box before putting it in your trolley. “Yeah but it probs ran out. That’s the thing with candles lee” you debated back as she shook her head with laughter.
“Sorry I’m just so nice to the People i love” you said to her.
“And you absolutely are, beautiful. But I don’t think we will be able to get return flights anymore once we leave here” Leah said.
“I make alright money Leah Williamson. Plus if you think this is a lot wait till you open your presents.” You smiled at her
“There’s only just a few things I want” she grinned at you as you both walked to the car
“What would those be baby” you smirked back.
“You…and that pop corn machine thing I showed you”
“You showed me that just yersterday! How am I supposed to get that” You panicked. When it came to gifts you were amazing at giving them. Everyone knew that and got excited to receive one from you. If they weren’t perfect for them you would always worry.
“I’m only joking…” she laughed as she kissed your head “at the second one”.
Once you were finished you cuddled up next to Leah on the floor against the couch to watch the end of the movie. Before heading upstairs to your room “night love you” you yelled out softly to mac and Kirsty “goodnight!” They replied before shutting their door. Leah changed out of her normal clothes that she strangely got into after her shower earlier in the night.
“Please match baby” you pouted, sitting on the edge of the bed holding up the Christmas Pajamas that matched yours.
Leah laughed as she saw them, “when did you get those” she said before cupping your face and kissing the tip of your nose.
“Back in London. I forgot I had packed them. Anyways here” you shoved them into her chest with the wide smile of a toddler.
“Of course I will” Leah skipped away to her dresser to change quickly. You giggled getting under the sheets before Leah jumped on top of you just as you were leaning over to plug your phone in. You laughed as she wrapped her long arms around you and placed kisses all over you shoulder.
“I’m so excited to for tomorrow” you smiled looking down on her.
“Me too” the English girl replied as she rolled over so you could cuddle into her side. That’s how you slept every night. It was just the best way that your bodies melted into each other. “Love you baby” she whispered.
“Night beautiful” you smiled before drifting off to sleep.
——-
Christmas morning started with slow cuddles in bed with Leah before very hyper toddlers came running down the bedroom door. They had forced you to come downstairs because they weren’t allowed to “open presents until everyone is awake”.
Leah gave multiple gifts to everyone in your family. Even though she hadn’t met some of them heaps. You gifted Leah a new designer tote bag, some belt she wanted, 2 new Apple Watch bands, YSL perfume, and Tiffany earrings along with other small gifts. She spoiled you loads as well. You two spent a long phone call with her mum before lunch started.
The afternoon was still hot. As the rain cleared, you dragged Leah, your sister and everyone down to the beach.
You were putting on sunscreen in the long mirror in your room. Leah had just done up her bikini before coming up behind you “let me help” she grinned as you were reaching for your back for the sunscreen. You gladly let her as she took the bottle from you. She rubbed gentle circles into your back with the cream, you groaned when her hands made their way up to you shoulders.
“That’s nice” you breathed out as she massaged your back. She sent a grin to the mirror.
“Let’s go” she said before tapping your butt and heading out the door, sunnies on her head. You laughed to yourself as you followed her out. You carried two of your nieces the whole Walk down while talking with Leah and Kirsty. Talking about Kristy mewis’s new transfer to their club.
“I don’t want to jinx anything. But I had a dream last night I did my ACL” you blurted.
“What-“ Kirsty laughed as you said so
“That’s not funny” Leah said
“And then…I died from it. Is that possible?”
“No it’s not. And you’re not going to do your ACL alright?” Leah reassured
“Shit who’s done their ACL?” Mackenzie said catching up to all of you with your third niece on her shoulders.
“Maybe me”
“What!-“
“No!” Leah said putting her towel down in a mess on the beach. You jumped on macca’s back as she ran down to the water. Leah and Kirsty slowly following down after.
“Come here!” You yelled, arms wide open for your niece to jump into them as you took her to the deep end. Leah laughed taking a photo of you and the small girl. “Get in Lee!” You yelled out to her
“Yep soon hang on” she said typing something on her phone. You rose out of the water, putting the child in your arms down near Mackenzie as you ran up to your girlfriend. “No no no” she said backing away.
You somehow, caught up to her and threw her over her shoulder
“No no I have my phone y/n!” She yelled. You muzzled it out of her hand and slowly put in down on the sand next to you.
“Down we go” you sung. As you carried the laughing girl into the water. Before completely dumping her in fully.
“Your done” she huffed as she pushed the wet hair out of her face. You swam and hid behind your taller sister as she just grabbed you by the shoulders and placed you in front of her, right in target for Leah.
“Thanks” your girlfriend said before pushing your shoulders under. The water was actually cold for the humid weather outside.
————
It was late at Christmas night. Technically very early Boxing Day. And even though at 1am, there was light Christmas tunes playing on the radio tv.
Everyone including Leah was asleep in the house. You came down for a midnight snack. You had been for the past few nights here.
“Shockers” a soft voice was heard a long with footsteps. The presence of your older sister brought a smile to your lips. You stuffed the last bit of pavlova in your mouth. “Anymore of that?” She pointed to the dessert.
You just giggled implying you at the last bit. “Again shockers”
“Oi”
“I feel like I haven’t seen you in a year”
“You never got back to me about meeting back in London. And you missed last camp” you implied
“I know sorry. Promise to try more”
“Stop you do try. You were just injured” you said softly as you poured both of you a water. “Are you planning on going with Kirsty to her family next year?” You asked curious.
“Yeah most likely I haven’t been there for Christmas before. What about you?”
“Yeah I’ll probs stay in London with Leah. I told you Caitlin brought Katie and Jordan here?”
“Yes. I’m shocked about Jordan. Not Katie. Oh I love her” she said sipping her water then refilling it
“They’re just really close as a three. Caitlin said today Sam is heading back to America in 2 days to go back with Kristie”
“Damn maybe she’ll finally feel jet lag for once. And did Caitlin call you?”
“Yeah. Just to say merry Christmas and all that”
“She didn’t call me” Mackenzie said joking in a sour way. You poked your tongue out at her as she yawned.
“Ok I’ll go back to bed. I’ve been up since 5”
“5?!”
“Yeah. The girls woke us up first. Proof I’m the favourite?”
“Maybe I’m the favourite and they just respect my beauty sleep more”
“Keep dreaming. Night. Get to sleep so your not cranky” you sister said, back to her bossy self. You heard more footsteps coming back down 1 minute later.
“Love come back to bed” said your love in a croaky voice. You turned to find Leah in her short Pyjama set and her hair everywhere.
“Hello. Looks like you slept well” you said pointing to the sheet marks left from her pillow on her check las you quickly pecked her all over her face.
“Yes I did. And I would like to get back to it. With you” she tugged you slightly back up the stairs.
“I think I’m still a bit jet lagged” you said as your body stayed leaning against the bench. Eating the strawberry punnet you grabbed out of the fridge earlier before.
“Ya think” she giggled now pulling out a kitchen stool to sit with you. The faint sound of The Christmas song by Nat King Cole was played over the radio.
“C’mon dance with me, then bed I promise” you put both your hands out the help her get up and slow dance with you.
“Only cause I get to sleep” she smiled taking your hands. You slowly started dancing with her as she put her head in the crook of her neck. The dance slowed into a long hug with each other’s embrace in the middle of the kitchen.
“I love you” you mumbled slowly into her hair
“Love you most. And again thanks for bringing me” she pecked your shoulder
“Wouldn’t miss the opportunity for the world”

‘Promise’ - Javier ‘Javi’ x Kate Carter & F! reader (angst!)
someone asked for a part two and I realized how good of an idea that was lmao. I need indirect ways to incorporate my past experiences into my fics anyway.
part one
prompt: you made a promise to distance yourself from Javi and Kate
TW: mentions of smoking, some detailed mention of self harm, suicidal thoughts, mentions of nausea, disordered eating, breakdowns, smoking, angst :(
Do NOT proceed if the triggers mentioned above upset you greatly. You have been warned.
I made a promise
To distance myself
Once Tyler dropped you off to the train station, you smiled and waved until you couldn’t see his truck anymore. You wanted to hang onto any last string of familiarity for as long as you could.
Especially since your life would change completely - for better or worse.
You took a deep breath, closing your eyes for a moment, trying to calm down your trembling body.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
5 things you see - the train station, the crumbling yellow bricks, the jolly red-white-blue american flag, your luggage, and the people. Lots of people.
4 things you hear - the people, obviously, the cicadas crying, the heavy bell ringing inside, the honking of cars for you to get out of their way.
3 things you smell - the heat - somehow, the smell of smoke from cars, and the thick air.
2 things you feel - terrified. hurt.
1 thing you taste - bitterness.
Shaking your head, you take another deep breath. Eyes dead set on the mission in front of you, you marched into the train station, bought a ticket to Oklahoma City, and settled down inside.
But now was the hardest part; waiting. What made it harder was you didn’t want to think about anything that happened yesterday. So, putting your headphones on, you made a playlist with none of the songs that reminded you of Javi or any of the ones he recommended to you. Essentially, you just listened to 3 songs in total, over and over again, but the knowledge you knew what was coming next was comforting, something you couldn’t apply to your current situation.
Took a flight, through aurora skies
Honestly, I didn't think about
How we didn't say goodbye
Just see you very soon
You woke up when the train jolted to a stop - you had fallen asleep, waking up to hear the opening notes of some song you were listening to earlier. Looking out the window, you reached Oklahoma City. With a sigh of relief and trepidation, you got your bags and headed out of the station, hailed a taxi to the airport. Booking a last minute flight back home to LA, you made your way to the gate. Setting your bag down, you sat in a char near the huge windows. Deciding it wasn’t close enough, you sat on the little raised platform attached to the window and leaned your head against it like you saw so many children do.
The boarding call was announced, and everyone sat up groggily. It all went by pretty quickly. Standing in line, getting your boarding pass stamped and your passport checked, finding you seat, putting your bag away and sitting down. Taxi and take off was a blur; luckily you got a window seat, and stared out at the pink clouds, tinted by the setting sun, a peach tone.
Peachy, just like your favourite pie.
You groaned, covering your eyes and rubbing them as your mind started to think about Oklahoma. About Javi, and the last time he saw you. And the last thing he said to you. It wasn’t even a proper goodbye, but you couldn’t blame him because he didn’t know it was goodbye.
And honestly, neither did you.
But you made yourself a promise - to distance yourself.
Those last words of his echoed in your mind.
“I- Okay, alright. Take care, (Y/N)”
It hurts to be something
It's worse to be nothing with you
You half expected a text from Javi - it had been around 24 hours since you last saw him. Since you told him you had a ‘family emergency’ to take care of. Who wouldn’t expect a little ‘you doing okay?’ or ‘safe travels’ when someone saw you break down in the middle of a field, distressed as hell? Sure, you and Javi weren’t dating, sure you both drifted apart ever since Kate got closer with him instead, but were you two not even friends anymore?
Did you mean nothing to him?
This wasn’t the first time he ghosted you - after the EF5 tornado, he didn’t say a word to you. But it was understandable why - everyone was hurting, and maybe he couldn’t bring himself to talk to you. In Oklahoma, the only times he’d talk to you is when you started a conversation, otherwise you could sit silently and he’d happily talk with Kate, leaving you be. It was never him starting anything.
And Kate. Did she figure out you liked Javi? Is that why she didn’t text you? Did she feel guilty? Part of you wanted her to feel guilty, but the other part of you didn’t want to be pitied. Part of you wanted to go back, but this - this was best for you right now. Nobody could tell you otherwise.
Instead, you got a text from Tyler.
‘hey there cowgirl - how you getting along?’
You chuckled - ‘cowgirl’ was probably the worst way to describe yourself. Instead, you typed down a response, your heart a little less heavy.
‘hey, Tyler. thanks for asking. means a lot’
He was typing, the three dots appearing on screen
‘of course. lemme know if you need anything at all okay? stay safe out there’
You sent him an affirmative text, thankful to actually have a friend who cared enough to check in on you, helping you out without questioning anything, having only known you for a week.
So I didn't call you
For sixteen long days
You found comfort in some form of familiarity in your life; back home in LA, everything looked duller, more still. Like the whole world knew about your heartbreak and was mourning, or mocking you. You tried to plunge into work, distracting yourself but sometimes, you’d just stare at your work, screen or paper, and just zone out. Your was brain still trying to process everything, and you were losing a lot over it - sleep, peace, overall joy, your will to wake up, and more.
It felt like after the EF5 tornado but worse because you knew somewhere in Oklahoma, Kate was with Javi, both of them happier than ever. It felt worse because you could never have him anymore. He was gone. And someone got to see him every day, sometimes wake up next to him, sometimes stay up all night with him. You felt like you were gonna be sick.
For a fortnight, all you could eat was cheese, bread, and grapes. It was the only thing you could keep down.
It was so hard not to text Javi. After you had just left, it’s like you were isolated for 5 years, given a taste of him, then forcing yourself to stay away. It was something you chose to do, not something you were forced to live with.
But you won’t call him. No matter how long the days felt they were dragging by.
And I should get a cigarette
For so much restraint
Walking by a drugstore to entertain yourself, you entered the establishment with an electronic ding notifying your presence. Strolling through the ailes, you picked up Sourhead Extremes (so in case you wanted to call Javi, you’d have to go through a gustatory agony first) and some nail polish, just to look pretty. Walking to the cashier, you mindlessly threw in a pack of cigarettes onto the counter, before putting them back in a jerky motion.
“What the hell…” you murmured to yourself, ashamed of what you were about to do. Buy cigarettes - to smoke.
Walking out of the store briskly, you speed-walked home; chiding yourself for almost ‘rewarding’ your no contact mission by smoking, you realized how truly pathetic you were.
“God, what is wrong with me…” you muttered, keeping your head down, watching the wet streets reflect the light of the sun and your dark sorrow.
No matter how long I resist temptation
I will always lose,
Eventually you did buy the cigarettes. You went home, lounging in your bed, a pretty china plate acting like an ashtray for you. Legs up in the air, swinging occasionally, eyes half lidded from the light high, you felt the chalky smoke fill your lungs, watching it come out in little clouds of grey air.
You felt in control for the first time since leaving Oklahoma - the cigarette sitting pretty between your red tinted fingers and lips. You smiled softly, satisfied by finally scoring a small win. You didn’t tell Tyler that you smoked. He’d say it’s a horrible habit you should give up.
Obviously it was more of a lose - giving into an impulse, and now you were at risk of falling deeper into addiction. You weren’t in control, you never really were.
But why would you make yourself feel worse when you were on the literal brink of crumbling?
Although, you didn’t get addicted. After the high wore off, you felt disgusted, throwing out the pack of almost full cigarettes. You wouldn’t tell Tyler, of course.
It hurts to be something
It’s worse to be nothing with you
Two weeks went by, and though you pretended everything was okay, it really wasn’t. You didn’t know if you missed Javi or not, but you really didn’t want to.
You don’t know if you want to see the face you loved so much, the face that lights up when he sees Kate, the face that Kate holds, kisses, caresses.. the face that she admires alongside you.
You wanted to get over him, you really did, but you cared so much about him. You didn’t want to stop caring about him, when loving him felt so… lovely.
But it hurt so much.
You barely got any sleep this past fortnight. Having a reverie about the man who daydreamed about another woman. The things you wished he did to you, he did to Kate. He was hers. So assured, so confident. No doubt in that.
For a fortnight, there you were, stripped of any text backs from him.
You were starting to think you just wanted his attention, which you dont know if you wanted anymore, knowing his attention belonged to Kate. Why would you care so much about him texting you?
But then again, weren’t you two friends?
I’ve done the math
There’s no solution
We’ll never last
Why can’t I let go of this?
Right now, you, broken, needed comfort. May it be fake hope again. Nobody was there to stop you anyway, so in your free time, you started to think of the ways Kate and Javi would have problems with each other.
‘She’s too arrogant sometimes, and he’s really down to earth’
‘She can’t communicate her feelings!’
‘Kate’s one to settle, Javi isn’t’
Of course, you knew it was wrong. Of course it was a bitchy thing to think. But who were you to care right now?
You were hurt, and you needed to feel better to even try and start to get a grip on reality. you didn’t want to rip of the band aid yet.
Not yet.
Even worse, your mind started thinking of ways you and Javi could get together; Kate could leave him in the dark again, she could get into a fight with him…
But nothing made sense - she wouldn’t leave when she looked at him that way… and any fights would be cleared quickly with Javi’s forgiving nature.
He would do anything for her.
All in all, you realized how shitty you were being, and texted Tyler, saying you couldn’t hide from Javi - couldn’t hide from the pain that haunted you. The bright lights of LA looked dull. The sun felt like a false light.
Your world was falling apart, how could the sun be shining when your world was falling apart?
‘Just walk around. Wear something that makes you feel good. Grab some good lunch downtown. Spoil yourself. Act like a damn tourist, I don’t care. Just do anything that reminds you that there’s more to life than Javi’ he wrote.
So I broke my promise
I called you last night
I shouldn’t have, I wouldn’t have
If it weren’t for the sight of a boy who
Looked just like you standing out on Melrose Avenue…
It hurts to be something
It’s worse to be nothing, with you.
Three days later, you sat on the roof of a building. The sun was setting, you looked at the streets below. People were walking - their dogs, their toddlers, and whatnot.
You were so disappointed with yourself. Closing your eyes, you thought back to everything that happened yesterday.
Following Tyler’s advice, you woke up ready to face the day.
Waking up bright and early, you went for a run, saw some pretty things on the way. You found it insane how easy it was to overlook the small things in life.
Coming home, you made breakfast; oatmeal with bananas, almond butter and chocolate chips. You savoured every bite with a smile.
You hopped into the shower, using your favourite body wash. Putting on an outfit, doing your hair and makeup, slipping on your shoes, you left the house, ready to explore the city…
All was going well until sunset.
—
You were walking along the streets of LA, acting like you’d never seen anything like it before. A coffee in hand, you walked confidently down the path, turning a corner to browse a bookstore on Melrose Avenue, when someone caught your eye.
A boy, waiting for the light signal to turn green, who looked exactly like Javi.
You froze.
Suddenly, you didn’t want coffee any more. You didn’t want anything right now but to go home.
—
You rushed home, trying so hard to control your breathing, then stumbling desperately to your room. As soon as your face crashed against the pillows, the soft, gentle fabric a perfect medium to absorb the tears now flowing down your face. You sobbed, curled into a still-bedazzled ball on your bed, hugging yourself, contracting into a fibonacci.
Reaching for your purse, you pulled out your phone, scrolling through your contacts. Through the wet and blurry lens of your tears, you scrolled into the alphabet until you reached the ‘J’ section. The first name was Javi.
Pressing on his name, then the ‘call’ button, you held it to your ear, taking shuddering breaths as you tried calming yourself down. The your phone cooed like a pigeon, signalling his phone, somewhere in Oklahoma, was ringing.
You were clean. Clean for a little over 2 weeks. Clean from his voice ringing in your ears, new words exchanged and whatnot.
But as you held your phone in your hand, crying, watching it reach Javi’s phone, waiting for him to answer, it all felt like a relapse.
Like the feeling of the cool blade on your skin, slicing through, leaving an angry red river in its wake.
The sick, high feeling you get from it - the ecstasy, watching you destroy yourself, finding beauty in the rubble.
Some part of you, the logical part of you was screaming to press the red button. To leave Javi alone. It wasn’t fair for you to reach out first, right? Why would you make a fool out of yourself by calling him? You’re not that desperate for him, are you?
But the hurt, emotional, desperate part of you didn’t, daring him to answer. Just to remind him of your existence. Just this once.
Still fighting the internal battle, you delved deeper into why he didn’t call you yet.
Did Kate tell him everything? Did she finally find out? Did she realize at all about how hurt you were?
The anger only just started to hit you, claiming your brain as a new population to be corrupted, a new host for the parasite, a new fruit to rot.
You were mad. You didn’t know at who. But you decided you were mad at Kate. For dating him. You knew it was wrong to be mad, because you had no claim over Javi, but you were too deep into your anger to actually think of a better way to cope. Suddenly, you were so mad at Kate. So, so mad. Part of you wanted to tear your house down, scream like a mad woman, but you didn’t. Your dwindling self control kept you in check.
Then came the sadness. You were so mad at Kate, but she was so happy right now. She didn’t care or know how your felt right now. how hurt you felt right now. She had Javi. Her Javi. And they were both happy - oh so happy, oh so blissfully unaware of how you felt right now.
They were happy - they were perfectly fine without you. Because they didn’t need you as a friend, not like they did in college - maybe they didn’t back then either, because they had each other. That’s all they needed. Each other was all they needed.
You were so deep into the crevices of your mind, drowning in both pain and relief, you almost didn’t hear your name drenched in Javi’s voice coming from the speaker.
‘[name]?’

hate to remember you like this
for @steddieholidaydrabbles prompt 'angst with a happy ending' rated m wc: 1000 cw: mention of car accident, medical emergency, temporary amnesia tags: post-break up, assumed unrequited feelings, getting back together
------------------------------
"Eddie, it's Steve."
Robin's words echoed in his head as he boarded the plane.
He left Steve three years ago because Steve told him to go, told him that if his dreams were so big that he couldn't stay then he had to leave and not come back.
Steve refused to talk to him since, refused to visit when all the kids came to his shows, refused to show up to Christmas at Wayne's.
So he shouldn't be on this flight to see Steve.
But Robin had insisted that Steve asked for him, and Eddie couldn't ignore the immediate need to be there for him.
Despite time, distance, and the constant feelings of regret mixed with heartbreak and anger, he still only wanted Steve.
He didn't know what happened, just that Steve had been in a medically induced coma for over 24 hours and the moment he woke up, he was begging for someone to get Eddie.
Robin had mentioned that he didn't seem to have all of his memories, but didn't tell him any details on which memories he may be missing.
He sat in his seat and hoped that whatever he was walking into would be closure for his heart.
--------------------------------
The kids were all sitting in the waiting room when he arrived at the hospital.
The moment Will saw him, hell broke loose.
"Who called you?" he asked.
"Robin. Are they letting people back?" Eddie asked.
"You shouldn't be here," Will said.
Eddie looked at his stance and couldn't help but smile. Will had grown incredibly protective of Steve after Eddie left, much to everyone's surprise.
"He asked for me. I promised I'd come if he ever needed me."
Everyone was quiet for a moment.
"Room 186. He was awake a little while ago, but they're only letting two people in at a time and Robin and Joyce have been with him for the last hour."
"Thanks."
Room 186 wasn't far down the hall. He could hear Joyce's motherly tone fussing while Robin sounded like she was rambling to herself.
When he walked into the room, his breath caught in his throat.
Steve was bruised, and half of his head was wrapped in bandages that looked like they needed to be changed.
But he gave Eddie a soft smile.
A smile he didn't deserve.
"Baby, tell Joyce to stop worrying herself to death over me. I'm fine."
Baby.
Robin and Joyce glanced over at Eddie, waiting for his reaction.
"I got it from here, Joyce," Eddie smiled at her and Robin, understanding coming over him swiftly.
"Alright, Eddie's got ya for a bit, but I'll be in the waiting room if you need me," Robin said, patting Steve's hand.
She gave Eddie a death glare on her way out of the room, silently suggesting that he would need a room at the hospital if he dared to hurt Steve in any way.
He sat down next to Steve, taking in his injuries.
"What took you so long?" Steve asked him, pouting slightly.
"Sorry, sweetheart. Got caught up with the band."
"But it's Wednesday. You don't have practice on Wednesdays."
Eddie sighed.
"Stevie, what year is it?" Had no one checked him for a concussion at any point in the last 12 hours?
"1988."
"It's 1991. You remember my band made it?" Eddie was going to get murdered by Robin for ruining whatever fantasy Steve's mind had settled on.
"What? But-" Steve's brows drew together as he tried to work through his own thoughts and memories. "You guys made it?"
"Yeah, we did."
They sat in silence while Steve processed.
Eddie felt the moment his memory started to come back, the room suddenly going cold.
"You left."
"Steve-"
"You left me," his voice broke, much like it had the night he screamed at Eddie as he walked out the door.
"I did."
"Why'd you come?"
"You asked me to. I'll always come when you ask."
Steve looked at him, his eyes heavy from whatever cocktail of drugs were flowing through his system, glassy with unshed tears.
"Then why did you leave?"
"You asked me to."
"I wanted you to stay. I always wanted you to stay."
"I wanted you to come with me."
They were both tense, Eddie's hands curled into fists against his thighs and Steve's body curling in on itself, preparing for a fight Eddie wasn't going to give him.
"I couldn't."
"I know."
"So, you'll leave again and I'll stay?" Steve asked, choking back a wet sound that Eddie recognized as a sob.
"I'll be here as long as you need me."
Steve searched his face.
"Why now?"
"Because you asked. Because I know what it's like to leave you and I know it's not worth missing you." Eddie gulped. "Because I love you too much to walk away from you again. Not unless it's what you want."
"I never want that."
"Then I'll be right here," Eddie reached for his hand, holding it gently in his own.
"You can't, though. You made it, Eds."
"I'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. Okay?"
Steve stayed silent for a while, but didn't pull his hand away.
"You'll stay while we figure it out?" he finally asked.
"Yeah. As long as it takes."
"Seal it with a kiss?" Steve asked, the way he did when he asked for Eddie to promise that he'd take out the trash, or stop at the store, or love him always.
Eddie leaned in and pressed his lips to Steve's.
Steve smiled as he pulled away.
"First thing to figure out: a new car."
"You totaled it?"
"She was good to me for so long. Unfortunately, she took things worse than I did."
Hard to believe looking at how swollen and bruised most of Steve was.
But they sat and talked through his plans for another car, something he could take on longer road trips to visit all the kids at school, see a few of Eddie's shows.
They'd figure it out.

☀︎ Return of Happiness

genre -> fluff
pairing -> enha’s niki x reader
warnings -> idol au, mentions of getting married, niki teases mc slightly
word count -> 0.6k
summary -> meeting niki after a long tour
This plane ride back to Korea was longer than the three month long tour. Maybe it’s because during the tour you were too distracted by seeing all your fans, the new places and being splashed with water by your other members to really think about being in a different country from your boyfriend and friends.
It felt like it had been three days since you boarded, but looking at the time on your phone showed it had only been an hour and a half. You still had around eleven more to go until you reached Seoul’s airport and most likely another hour until you could get out of there if you were lucky.
Looking at the time again, you sigh when you see that only a minute has passed. Your leader, who sat next to you, placed their hand on your shoulder gently and rubbed their hand against it, comforting you.
“I know you want to go see him. You will once we land. The company always gives a few weeks break after a tour.” They whispers softly. “You can go to sleep and dream of giving Riki your gifts from every city we visited. I’ll wake you up an hour before we land.”
Sleep sounded good. Especially as an idol who often didn’t get enough sleep. But yet, your mind just couldn’t stop thinking. You thought of every concert, the outfits the fans war that sometimes rivaled yours when you were on stage, your members who were littered throughout the plane. You thought of Riki the most though. How sweet he was, how his humor always landed with everyone he met, how he was so much taller than you and treated you so gently, like a porcelain doll.
You started to drift off at the thought of him. Eventually your eyes shut and you fell asleep. Dreaming of Riki.
You woke to your leader tapping your shoulder. “Hey, we’ve landed. I tried to wake you at the hour mark but you didn’t want to.” They explain gently. Stretching as best as you can in those small spaces, you look around as everyone started to stand up and grab their packages. “Manager says that there’s a surprise out there.” They say standing from their seat to count where the rest of your members are currently.
“A surprise?” You ask. “Manager never surprises us.” Your leader nods in agreement. Waiting for everyone to clear out, you move in the aisle. Your leader following and grabbing both of your guys luggage’s. When the rest of your group eventually groups back up, you exit the plane while expressing your thanks to the flight attendants.
“Ok I was told we have wait here for manager.” The leader stops the group. You lean on your luggage, still tired and oblivious to the grins that your members are giving you.
Jolting up when you feel hands on your waist, you turn around thinking it was one of your members seeking revenge for you pouring a water bottle over them. Instead you turn and meet Riki.
“Hey jagi.” He says smiling while you stand there dumbfounded. “Wow I’m so hurt. Not even a hug.” He fake pouts. You snap out of your trance before lunging on him, wrapping your arms around his neck and legs around his waist. “Missed me that much didn’t you?” He teases as he gently kisses your temple. Hiding your face in his neck, you nod your head as best as you can. “Well don’t worry. Your manager said that I can sleep over tonight as long as the door is open.” He says against your skin before kissing it again.
“Got gifts for you in every city.” You mumble against his neck. “Wow stealing my ideas now huh? First it was my heart, then my ideas. What’s next, my last name?” He teases you again. You just shake your head in disbelief at his words. “Don’t worry Jagi. I’ll make sure to get your managers blessings before.”

Plane Ride - Keira Walsh
YN.YL - Kennedy Parks
Keira Walsh - herself
————————————————————————
Keira wasn't and overly physical person, she wasn't one that would cuddle you in-front of everyone, kiss you on the lips every 10 minutes like some of her other teammates would with their partner, but Keira would hold your hand, sit with you, talk to you and every now and then when she went to do something without you she would kiss you on the cheek simple but cute.
Keira was a different person when it came to you to by yourselves every morning you would have to pry her arms of you or promise you would be back soon. She liked being more affectionate behind the scenes and that didn't bother you cause you were quite similar .
You and Keira we're catching a plane to England for a friendly against Brazil for a home match which was quite exciting since you haven't played at home for a while due to a concussion missing out on the last friendly at home, so you had that bit more energy just buzzing to get to England and see the girls again, but Keira on the other hand was excited but not like you.
"Keira come on we have to go get ready I've stayed in bed with you for an extra 20 minutes let's get going"
"It's fine the plane ride isn't for ages and we don't take that long to get ready" she responded with wildfire moving her body more on Kennedy then in her side of the bed
Kennedy moved her arms under Keira stomach and pushed her to her side of their bed. She got up and grabbed her clothes that were put up the night before and went and got changed. Meanwhile Keira grabbed a pillow and just lied there hugging it like it was Kennedy.
Kennedy came out of the bathroom around 20 minutes later fully changed and hair make face done meanwhile Keira was half awake turning the tv on.
"KEIRA are you serious go get ready" Kennedy grabbed the remote and turned the tv off, looking at Keira with a shocked expression because the girl was usually much more organised getting ready on time and being out the door on time but this was different she was making them go 30 minutes behind schedule which is unheard of for Keira Walsh to be behind her schedule
"I'm just tied" she looked at Kennedy with a pout that no one had ever seen but Kennedy
"Sleep on the plane, just get ready please"
"Fine”
After and hour of waiting for Keira to get ready have breakfast and get out the door the pair eventually got in the car on the way to the airport.
"Keira you have your passport"
"Yeah it's with yours, you have your phone chargers"
"Yes there in my luggage, what about your boots"
"I do the in my kit bag, what about you"
"I'm praying that Lotte is bringing them from the last time I played with England I left them and lotte grabbed them for me"
"Ahhhhh okay I'm sure she'll have them did you bring spares"
"Yeah but there just my Barcelona ones"
We parked the car grabbed out our luggage and headed into the airport hand in hand and on our way to bag check. Usually we'd meet up with Lucy right now but she lives in London now so there's not more waiting on Lucy to get to a place in time which is sad but also nice, it just being Keira and Kennedy rather then plus Lucy. We eventually made it to the boarding section but we had to wait another 20 minutes till boarding so we wait at the seating area. Kennedy rested her head in Keira's shoulder while she watched her phone.
"Flight 2827 is ready to be boarded now please have your passports ready to go through"
As the announcement went of we started to make our way to the boarding line we're we quickly grabbed our passports ready to be looked at again. We went through and got to our seats. We were fortunate to have 3 seats for the two of us so Keira knew exactly what she was gonna do when we could take our seatbelts off. As the flight took of and we were steady in the air Keira easily moved the middle arm rest up and mine then moved the seat belts out of her buckle and lay her head on the side of Kennedys leg connected her AirPods and shut her eyes. Meanwhile Keira did that Kennedy started to watch a show that came up in her suggested and started to watch it peacefully without waking/disturbing Keira. After about an hour of watching the show Keira ended up getting back up and putting her head into Kennedy's neck and and resting it there after that they moved about around 6 more times until Kennedy's head was in Keira chest with her legs up were she balanced her phone so that Keira could see the screen aswell. Keira got curious about the other girls reaction were in the gogglebox video so they decided to watch that together. The video finished and the girls just chatted, eventually they got bored of everything they could do and Keira went back to lying on Kennedy. They had about 35 more minutes till the flight was over and they could get an uber to the lionesses hotel they were staying at.
The time came around to when the flight was over and Keira unwillingly got up and put the arm rests and belts down and on. The flight went down and the girls made there way off the flight were they met up with Georgia new baggage claim section. Keira was still sleepy and even more quiet then usual which you didn't mind but were confused why she was still all over you when you all claimed you luggage Keira still had you hand in hers and she walked close to you resting her head on ylu shoulder as you walk. You all got in the uber all having a conversation and as you got there you were met with media cameras and teammates and Keira still had your hand in hers not that you minded but
You could get used to this type of Keira.
Thanks for reading I haven't posted in a while but thank you and if you like Wattpad more my account is the same as tumblr but I only will take requests on here thank you guys 🥰😊
