니키 - ruined make-out sessions -> N.NK
Warning → Kissing / Making out.
Paring → Clingbf!Niki x SoftieGfFem!Reader
Synopsis → Its been two months since he has kissed your lips.
You jumped when you placed your toothbrush back in the holder and looked into the mirror, only to find niki standing there behind you.
He giggled as he put his arms around you, pulling your back against his chest before he laid her chin on your shoulder.
"You scared me."
Your eyes locked in the mirror and he pouted sadly.
"Sorry. I just couldn't stand being away from you for another minute."
You turned around and looped your arms around his neck to pull him closer if that was even possible now.
"It's been two months since I last saw you. Two months without your arms around me, without being able to kiss you." He whispered the last part against your lips as he leaned in to steal another lingering kiss from your lips.
"I love being on tour. Don't get me wrong. You know being on tour. Don't get me wrong. You know how much I love it. But it's not easy being so far away from my girl."
You hooked your fingers under his chin, already craving the taste of his lips again. He breathed out a soft sigh as he gently laid his hand on your cheek, wanting to feel your soft and warm skin against his fingertips.
"I've missed you too, nini. So much."
You quickly melted into his kisses and hid touch as he let his hands roam along your body. He suddenly started to walk backward until he led you out of the bathroom and into the hotel room where you fell onto the mattress, fingers intertwined.
He pulled away to stare at you adoringly for a moment. You were wearing his shirt. It was nothing new. You find yourself stealing them all the time.
He even left his favorites behind for you, spraying his perfume on the fabric to let his smell linger until the day you reunited; which came much sooner than he expected, thanks to your wonderful surprise visit today.
He dropped his forehead onto yours and pecked your lips as he kept his eyes locked with yours.
You looked pulchritudinous, just laying there all smiles while you stared at his endearingly and eagerly awaited the next brush of her lips on your own.
"I'm so happy you're here." He whispered before trailing kisses to your neck.
"Me too, niki. I missed you lots." You mumbled as you tilted your head back and closed your eyes to let more of your skin be kissed lovingly by the sweet brush of his lips.
He put his fingers under your chin a moment later because as much as he loves kissing your neck and hearing those sighs fall from your lips, he loves the taste of your lips and the way they move against his own.
He deepened the kiss and brushed his fingers along your skin. You jumped when he lifted up his shirt you had on and his warm fingers fell to your skin.
But his touch was so calming, so doting, and after two long months without feeling his passionate touch, you basked in every second of his concupiscent caresses.
You held him close, so close that you could feel every swift beat of his heart against your own.
You couldn't help the soft sigh that fell from your lips as he pulled away from your lips once more to kiss and gently bite at your skin.
He’s missed you an inexpressable amount and he planned on showing you just how much; by loving on you and holding you as tight as she could.
But just as his lips brushed against that one special spot on your neck, the door of the hotel room was opening and you both jumped in shock.
Jake stood wide-eyed, looking just as shocked as you and Niki.
Niki cleared her throat awkwardly while you buried your face in his neck. Your cheeks were redder than ever before and niki would usually tease you for that, but his ears were just as red.
"Jake? What's up?"
"Uh," Jake mumbled and shook his head, trying to think of why he walked into the room in the first place.
"You didn't knock?" Niki wondered.
"No, I did. And Sunoo and Heeseung called before that. But neither of you answered and now we know why." He tried to crack a joke, but you were all too shocked and too awkward to laugh.
"Sunghoon wanted to know if you wanted to go out?Y/n's here, it's her first night, and we thought we'd do something fun to celebrate but... I think you found other ways to celebrate." You whined in embarrassment and niki shook his head.
"We'll be down in a few minutes."
Jake never left a room so fast before, simply nodding and slamming the hotel door behind him.
You and Niki stared at each other for a moment before he climbed off of you.
"Well. the next week should be fun. Having to look Jake in the eyes after that."
Niki chuckled and reached for your hand.
"Yeah. But I'll take the teasing. At least I've got you here and that's all that matters to me."
You laid your head on his shoulder and she kissed your head lingeringly.
"I feel the same way, nini."
He turned your cheek and leaned in for another kiss. But you pulled away quickly, taking him by the hand and leading her to the bathroom.
"Come on, we gotta get ready. The boys are waiting for us."
He whined as you dragged him into the bathroom to get ready, already craving your kisses again.

Niki held his breath as he slowly and quietly closed the window of your dorm room.
He closed the curtains so you wouldn't be bothered by the moonlight.
It's late, nearing two in the morning, and he knows after the day you had you've got to be in a deep sleep now.
He didn't want to wake you. At least, not yet.
So he tried to be as quiet and as careful as he possibly could.
But that was a little easier said than done as he walked through your room and had to be careful not to step or trip on anything you might have on the floor.
He soon began to tiptoe to your bed and finally, he reached it.
He breathed out a sigh of relief and then quietly took his shoes off before she crawled under the covers with you.
He wanted to get here much sooner than this but he's been busy since early this morning and just finished everything he had to do today an hour or so ago.
It felt like time had just dragged on today.
He was completely exhausted and felt very stressed.
His day was, honestly, terrible; one of the worst that's one of the reasons why he snuck in so late tonight.
Because until now, he didn't have the chance to see you and he needs cuddles from you more than he ever has before.
He curled up with you and put his arms around you to hold you tight.
But as he did so, his hand fell to your back, and your eyes flew open at the feeling.
At first, you had no idea that it was him.
The only thing you knew was it was late and dark and someone was in your bed.
You almost screamed but Niki felt you jump and was quick to shush you before you made a sound.
"Shh. Baby, it's just me."
"Nini?" You mumbled sleepily and turned over to face him. "What are you doing here? How did you get into my dorm room?"
"I snuck in through your window." He said.
"You climbed all the way up here?"
"Yeah." He answered as he tangled his legs with yours.
"I don't think you've ever done that before. Are you alright? Not that I'm complaining but it's after two am. Why are you here?"
"I had a very bad day." He sighed as you began to brush your fingertips across his skin. "It was just awful. One of the worst I've had in quite some time. I'm exhausted and I'm so stressed out and I just need some cuddles."
"Oh, niki," you cooed and curled up as close as you could, holding onto him tightly. "I'm so sorry to hear that. I know things have been hard for you lately. I'm more than happy to give you all the cuddles you want."
"Thank you." He spoke softly as he kissed your head.
"Do you want to talk about it? You can tell me anything you want to get off your chest. I'll listen to every word."
"I know you will, my love. But no. I'd rather just hold you. I want to try and forget about the entire day if I can and just hope that tomorrow is better."
"Baby, I'm sure it will be." You said as you played with his hair.
"You deserve the world. I have hope that tomorrow will be a much better day. You deserve it."
"Thank you." He said and for the first time all day, he cracked a real and genuine smile.
"Are you warm? Have some of my blanket." You said and covered him up with your blanket, letting her have as much of it as he wanted.
"The day is over, baby. You're okay now. You're here with me. I've got you."
Your words were so sweet and so comforting and they helped to make him feel so much better.
"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me." He softly spoke as he brushed his fingers across your back. "I don't know what I'd ever do without you. You're so sweet and I'm just so in love with you."
"Niki, I'm so in love with you. You don't ever have to wonder what you'd ever do without me because I'm not going anywhere. Not ever. I promise."
He closed his eyes and let out a long sigh.
Sometimes, those worries creep into his brain.
He just needs you to remind him that you're never leaving.
Because you know he isn't ever either.
"I know it was a bad day but you don't have to worry about a thing anymore. It's all over. It's just us now. I'll cuddle you until the sun comes up. I won't let go."
He smiled for a few seconds, until you put your lips on his and gave her a sweet kiss.
"Get some rest. I love you, angel."
"I love you more, sweet girl." He said and held you tighter as you put your head on his chest and closed your eyes, drifting off to sleep together.

JUST FRIENDS — n.rk
albeit the lines of your friendship were quite blurred, it still confused you as to why riki was suddenly adamant on having your hair tie on his wrist at all times. given, you know, that it would be basically telling the world that the two of you were dating.
GENRE— fluff, highschool au, friends to lovers
WARNINGS— lots of touching, jealousy, mutual pining but they are both oblivious idiots, cursing, toxicity (they are huge haters imo), kissing, slight making out (?), let me know if I missed any!
WORDCOUNT— 6.4k
NOTE— fluff is my biggest enemy, so this was quite the challenge for me. bnd ver posted here!
YOU AND RIKI WERE CLOSE. Too close, according to the rest of your friends.
You both had been best friends since kindergarten, the story of your meeting never failing to tear a chuckle out of anyone who heard it.
You were three years old, having arrived at kindergarten a few minutes ago. You were scared to go and talk to the other kids — what if they were mean? What if they laughed at your pretty bows? What if they didn't want to play with you?
You sat in one corner, away from the other kids, playing with a small doll. Amidst your playing, you saw little feet approach you. You looked up, noticing a boy of your age. He stared right back at you, before pointing at you. “You are going to be my best friend!”
The boy had later introduced himself to be Riki, and you both had truly become best friends. The two of you were together through thick and thin, never leaving each other's side. There were no secrets between the two of you, the thought itself incredulous. You both were best friends, why on earth would you both hide something from each other?
Your bond was unbreakable, something that left many writhing in envy. How come you both were so close, never able to leave each other's side?
With a good bond, comes judgement. Judgement by others, assumptions about your true relationship.
While you both were close, not everyone knew that you both were best friends, right? To any stranger, you both were the embodiment of 'siblings, or dating?'.
While you both bickered and were playful enough to be termed as siblings, the way you both acted with each other, often left people confused.
See, your love language was physical touch, while his was acts of service. After spending so much time with each other for all these years, you both were bound to rub off on each other, weren't you?
His hand was almost always on your waist, or your shoulders — didn't matter where you guys were, or what you were doing — it was always there. If somehow he forgot to put his hand around you, you would loop your arm around his, or intertwine your hands. It was cute, definitely very cute, but — the extreme couple energy that you both excluded was insane.
It didn't help that you were often touching him, skinship being basically your second nature. You were always fixing his hair, his clothes, touching him while you were speaking to him, while you were laughing with him — how could you both expect anyone to believe that you weren't dating each other?
Not only that, both of you would often be seen giving each other random gifts, without it being a special occasion. You were often seen giving Riki a chocolate at a random time of the day, while he was often delivering milk to you. If anyone asked, he always had the same excuse: “She doesn't drink enough water, she needs to stay hydrated”, while you always said “he likes chocolates, is it so wrong of me to give chocolates to a friend?” Needless to say, they always backed off after that.
It was only after a certain set of incidents that everyone finally had something to confirm that yes, you both were indeed more than friends.
IT WAS A QUARTER PAST SEVEN IN THE MORNING, fifteen minutes left for the start of the first period. You and Riki had arrived at school just five minutes ago, with his hand around your waist as usual. The two of you were giggling at some tea you were spilling regarding a relationship between a senior and a sophmore, since you were physically incapable of keeping things from him. Just as you were getting to the good part of the gossip, one of Riki’s friends from the football team ran up to the two of you. Jake.
“Hey lovebirds!” Jake cheerily waved to the both of you, his tone teasing. You simply rolled your eyes with a smile, having gotten used to the antics of his friends. “Riki, dude, I'm gonna need a favour — one of our frontiers is absent, and none of the subs are available. Please help us out for today's match — I promise I'll make it up to you, even if we don't win. You will even have a customized jersey for the match, which you can keep with yourself permanently–!”
Riki hesitated, his grip on your waist tightening slightly. “I don't know, I was planning on leaving early with ___ today, to get ice cream and all…”
You immediately pinched his hand that was around your waist. “He means yes, we can always reschedule the hangout.”
Jake's eyes lit up. “Really?! Thank you so much, you have no idea how desperately we needed another player — I'll go tell the others now, you can come and practice with us during recess!”
Just before he could leave, you halted him, getting out of Riki's grasp. “Jake, wait–”
He stopped on the spot, looking at you with a confused gaze. “Something wrong?”
You stepped forward, brushing some hair out of his face gently, smoothing the slightly messy hair on top of head. You took a step back. “There you go, the mess was bothering me.”
He blinked, a faint red coating his cheeks and creeping up his neck. He was well aware of your touchy nature, but this was the first time he was on the receiving end of it, hence his flustered state. “O-Oh, thanks — I- I'll go now–”
He quickly turned on his heel and left, a light jog evident in his retreating figure. You turned back towards Riki, a smile on your face. “Let's go to class, or else we might be late.”
He nodded, his arm looping around your waist once more, guiding you around the busy halls, to class. You couldn't help but notice the slightly tighter grip he had on your waist, or the way his expression was different than his usual when you turned back towards him.
CLASS WAS BORING AS USUAL. The two of you sat at the back of class, messing around as usual instead of studying. Yet, there was something amiss.
Usually, Riki was a lot more playful, a lot more relaxed and free around you. Currently however, there seemed to be an air of hesitation, reluctance around him. His smile didn't exactly reach his eyes, his laughter feeling forced.
‘Maybe he just isn't feeling it today?’ was what you thought, so you didn't bother asking. You knew if something was seriously bothering him, he would have told you already.
Before long, the bell rang, signifying recess. You quickly held Riki's hand, pulling him out of his seat, and racing into the hall. You both had already eaten in class, — how you both never get caught, is a mystery you're both yet to solve — so he would have the entire recess to practice with the rest of the football team for the match that was going to take place later on.
You both quickly navigate your way to the football ground, spotting Jake and the rest of the team doing lazy stretches to warm up first. He spotted the two of you quickly enough, waving and rushing over to where you both were standing.
“Hey,” he began, a grin adorning his face. “I'm so glad you didn't change your mind — ___, you can sit on the benches and watch if you'd like, I'm sure the others won't mind! Also, coach got the customized jersey done already — no idea how he got it done so quickly — it's there in the locker rooms, so you can change into that right now if you'd like!”
You admired his ability to yap continually without stopping, making you smile a little. You nodded in his direction, nudging Riki to go and change already, before quickly walking over to the benches and taking a seat.
Soon enough, Riki was back, adorning the jersey, making your jaw drop. You couldn't take your eyes off him — you had never seen him in attire similar to that before, but damn, he sure did look amazing.
Your face flushed slightly, as you quickly tried to snap out of these thoughts. Nope, that's your best friend, you're not going to think of him in that sense.
You watched as they all played, Riki surprisingly being able to keep pace with them. You never watched him play before, the sight drawing you in like a moth to a flame. His concentration was — were you blushing?!
God, what was wrong with you? Had you been single for so long that the sight of your best friend simply practicing in the field had you all giddy?
The rest of the recess went on smoothly, with you trying not to concentrate on Riki too much, lest someone caught you with your cheeks on fire. God, you really needed to get yourself together.
Once practice was over, Riki quickly went to you, his usual smile back on face. You handed him a bottle of water, quickly wiping his sweat off him. He started babbling while you were doing so. “Did you see that? I did pretty good back there, right? Jake said that he was confident we would win the match today, and said I was better than the guy I'm subbing for! Isn't that great?”
You let out a hum, finishing wiping off his sweat. “Yea, you were amazing. C'mon now, we need to run, or else we will be late for history — you know how ma'am gets when someone is even two seconds late.”
He nodded, seemingly satisfied with your answer. He didn't need to know that you weren't exactly watching much of what he was doing, or that you were only watching him.
AS SOON AS THE BELL FOR THE LAST PERIOD RANG, nearly the whole school raced to the grounds. All the players, including Riki, ran to the locker rooms to change, whereas the rest of the students quickly found the best seats possible.
You sat at the very front, a bottle of water and a towel already in your hands. You were a little tense for the match, since the opponent team seemed to be extremely well prepared. Still, you tried to not let your mind wander, focusing on Riki, as he came out of the locker rooms, into the field.
The match started. The opposing team was putting up a good defense, but Riki’s team was able to keep up. It was hard to watch, the many nearly-goals and nearly-fouls heightening your nerves. You tried to not let them get to your head, focusing instead on cheering for Riki.
Half time arrived soon enough, with both the teams having scored one goal each. Riki came straight to you, quickly taking the bottle from your hand, gulping it all down. He gave you a sheepish grin. “Sorry, I'm really nervous for the match. The opposing team is… starting to get angry. I don't think they expected us to keep up, so they were a little dumbfounded. But now they are simply pissed — they aren't exactly known for being the fairest when it comes to playing football, and winning.”
You bit your lip, wiping off his sweat with the towel. “But they can't use unfair means to win, can they? They will get a foul…”
Your words died down on your tongue once you noticed his grim expression. “If they somehow injured one of us, leaving us incapable of playing, what is one red card going to do? They have subs available, we don't. If one of us is out, the match would already be lost.”
You didn't know what to say in order to encourage or comfort him. You knew that the reputation of their opponents wasn't the best, but there was nothing anyone could do, other than to stay safe and try their best. So that's what you told him.
He gave you an amused smile. A teasing glint appeared in his eyes.“You sound worried. Are you scared that they might hurt me?”
You scowled at him. “This isn't a joke! They could actually injure you, can't you just give me your word that you will at least try to stay safe?”
He let out a small snicker, before giving you a mock salute. “Of course ma'am. Just do me a favour, will you?”
You tilted your head to the side. A favour? Now? You decided not to question it. “Sure I can. But it depends on what it is.”
He grinned at you, before pulling his jersey off him, revealing a plain white t-shirt underneath. That explained why he was sweating more than the others. Who even wears two layers to a football match?
He shoved it in your chest. “Wear it, and cheer for me.”
You gave him an incredulous look. “No way! It's literally drenched in your sweat.”
He pouted, giving you a pleading look. “Please? For me? It's only for an hour and a half, can't you do it? I'll feel a lot more motivated then. C'mon, just do it, please–”
You groaned at his incessant begging. “Fine! I'll wear it — just… ugh, help me out with it–”
The grin on his face grew, as he quickly helped slide the jersey onto you. He proudly made you twirl for him, with you hiding your face in your hands from the utter embarrassment of it — but complying nonetheless. Unbeknownst to you, a smug smirk adorned his face, as he locked eyes with Jake in the process, who quickly looked away, his ears turning red at having been caught looking.
The whistle sounded again, signifying the start of the second half. Riki quickly left, the hurried ‘good luck!’ that you threw at him bringing a smile to his face.
You watched as he advanced into the field with renowned vigour, the determined expression on his face soothing your nerves slightly. You made sure to cheer for him even louder than before, the grin that he threw your way making it worth the looks that were shot in your direction.
But the opposing team did not relent. Eager to match Riki's newfound enthusiasm, they changed their strategies. The brutality in every move that they made caused your anxiety to spike.
Riki's team, however, didn't let it deter them. Everyone was determined to win, to not succumb to the team that always tries to get their way through unfair means.
Speaking of unfair means, the attempts at making foul moves increased ten-fold. Many of the players in Riki's team were almost injured, but somehow they managed to avoid it at the last second. Why the referee wasn't giving any yellow cards, was beyond your imagination.
The clock was ticking down. Not a single goal had been made. The audience was starting to lose hope, the enthusiasm in their cheers starting to fade. You made sure to continue screaming, cheering them on as best as you could. In the midst of it all, Riki glanced at you. Upon seeing the expression on your face, he made it his personal mission to win. He had to, for you. He wasn't going to disappoint you, he swore to himself.
With a determined look, he surged forward, trying to get to the ball. Jake had the ball, and he locked eyes with him. Upon noticing the younger’s determined expression, he managed to pass the ball to him.
Riki caught the ball without any interceptions, quickly racing towards the goal. He skillfully avoided all the attempts to tackle him, running as fast as possible to the goal. The goalkeeper froze, upon noticing the expression on his face.
Taking advantage of his momentary distraction, he struck. With a sudden burst of strength, he kicked the ball, watching as it flew into the goalpost, the goalkeeper just narrowly missing it.
The sudden uproar that erupted was deafening to say the least. His teammates were hugging and whooping, patting him on the back. The exhilarating feeling that came from the win, made him feel lighter, as if he was on cloud nine.
His eyes searched for you, noticing you trying to get past the huge crowd towards him. He quickly navigated his way out of the crowd, making his way towards you. As soon as he was in front of you, he wrapped his arms around your waist, making you squeal, as he picked you up and spun you in the air. His grin was wide, your own grin almost as wide as his. “We won! We actually fucking won! Did you see my last goal? I looked cool right? I still can't believe I actually made the goal–”
In the midst of his yapping, one of your friends was wiping his sweat off for him. While you tried to not let it show, you couldn't help the jealousy that flared inside you at the intimate gesture. You were supposed to do it for him, not her. Riki didn't even seem to notice, too focused on telling you the details — as if you didn't witness it all by yourself.
Unable to bear the sight of her wiping off his sweat with a random towel, you grabbed his hand, pulling him away. You both set into a sprint, away from the people congratulating him.
As soon as you reached a somewhat secluded region of the school, you turned to him, your arms crossed over your chest. But before you could speak, he spoke first, his breathing coming in short pants. “Goddamn woman, I just won a match, you're already making me run again? Cut me some slack, will you?”
You rolled your eyes, ignoring his outburst. “Why did you let her do it?”
He looked at you, confused. “Huh? Let who do what…?”
You gave him an incredulous look. “Her. You let her wipe off your sweat for you — don't tell me that you didn't notice it at all?!”
He still looked confused. “Huh? Someone did that? I didn't even realise — I was talking to you, so I was distracted, I guess. But why does it matter?”
You gave him a pointed look, frustration evident in your eyes. Why wasn't he getting it?! “‘Why does it matter?’ Because I'm your best friend! I always do it for you, so why would you let her do it as well? If I'm your best friend, then shouldn't I get treated as such? Shouldn't I be treated differently from the rest of our friends? Why are you letting her do something that only I do to you?”
His eyes widened, before he frowned. “I didn't even notice her doing it… but if I should treat you differently from the rest of our friends, shouldn't you do the same to me as well? Why should this be a one-sided arrangement?”
Now it was your time to frown. “One-sided? How is this one-sided?! I always treat you differently, how have I ever treated you similar to the rest of our friends?”
He rolled his eyes. “Oh, I don't know, maybe yesterday? When you fixed Jake's hair for him? Since when did you start fixing people's hair other than mine?”
You were at a loss for words. You simply opened and closed your mouth several times, like a fish out of water.
Riki spoke again. “How about this: I pay more attention to my surroundings, while you keep your hands to yourself? Don't go around touching other people's hair, that should be reserved for me only. Do we have a deal?”
You bit the inside of your cheek. “Fine. We have a deal.”
You usually didn't back down from fights that easily. But everything seemed to be different when it involved Riki.
TRUE TO YOUR DEAL, the two of you didn't treat others even remotely similar to how you treated each other anymore. Both of you grew much closer than before. People could easily pick up on the change in the air around the two of you, the shippers going slightly insane. When were the two of you going to announce your relationship officially?
Neither of you paid much attention to those silly rumours, always dismissing the teasing. Friends were allowed to be possessive of each other, were they not? Was it a crime to want some things to be just between you guys, and not for everyone else to know and judge?
Days went by the same, the teasing never stopped. But it was always there from the very beginning of your friendship, not just from classmates, but outsiders and family members as well. Both of you had grown used to it.
Recently, both you and Riki had noticed the trend of wearing hair ties on wrists. While it wasn't an uncommon sight for girls, it certainly was for boys. What do they need a hair tie for, when their hair is so short?
It was quickly discovered that the hair ties were actually of their girlfriends’, them wearing it on their wrists being a sign of commitment — and the general fact that they had a girlfriend.
Of course, it flared jealousy among those who weren't in a relationship — including you and Riki. Both of you glared in resentment at anyone who had a hair tie on their wrist, always greeting them with a bitchy eye roll. Both of you, like every other single person, loved to hate on couples, betting on when they would break up, if they were cheating on their partner, and whatnot. You both were always met with the same responses: ‘Just wait till you get into a relationship.’
Your responses were the same too. The same eye roll, paired with a pissed off comment, either mocking them, or talking about how neither of you would ever bother with dating anyone. Everytime, you both were met with an exchange of amused glances. Neither of you ever understood that they meant when you both would get together.
It started to get unbearable after a while, with almost everyone wearing a hair tie on their wrist. It was frankly starting to annoy Riki a lot, to the point that he snapped at his friends, which was uncharacteristic of him. It was only then that the guys gave him the obvious solution: to wear a hair tie as well.
Wearing a hair tie on his wrist was easier said than done. For Christ’s sake, he didn't have a girlfriend! Why would he wear a hair tie on his wrist, when he didn't have someone's to wear?
But then a crazy thought struck him. He may not have a girlfriend, but he definitely had a girl best friend. You. He could wear your hair tie on his wrist, right?
Turns out, you didn't share the same views as him.
“ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY NOT. Where did you even get this crazy idea from?!”
Riki bit his lip, rubbing his nape sheepishly. “Well — the guys keep teasing me, so I got desperate, and… uhm…”
You pinched the bridge of your nose, closing your eyes, and sighing. “Riki, you're aware that only couples wear hair ties on their wrists, right? We,” You gestured between the two of you. “are not a couple. You wearing my hair tie on your wrist would be indicating that I'm your girlfriend. Which I'm clearly not. Let's not give everyone another incentive to tease us, yea?”
He let out a groan. “Oh, c’mon, who cares what others think? We can just — make an excuse — tell them that I'm wearing it because you keep losing your hair ties, so I'm basically your hair tie holder. How does that sound?”
You gave him an incredulous look. “No one will ever buy that shitty excuse.”
He scowled at you. “Oh, like you could come up with something better.”
You nodded enthusiastically, although it was completely sarcastic. “Of course I can! We forget this conversation! Because we both know what the hair tie would indicate. Not just to others, but between us too.”
He shook his head stubbornly. “I don't care. I'm going to wear one.”
You rolled your eyes. But before you could open your mouth to retort, Riki grabbed the hair tie that you used to meticulously tie your hair into a ponytail and pulled.
You watched in shock, as your hair came undone, your hair tie now in his hand. With a smug smirk, he wore it on his wrist, showing it to you proudly, before going off to his class. “Bye ___! See you after this period!”
Oh, he was definitely going to see you. Maybe two of you or even more, depending on how hard you punch him.
JUST AS EXPECTED, you both were on the receiving end of everyone’s teasing, becoming the new hot topic of your school. No matter how much you both tried to ignore it, it just didn’t work.
Questions about whether you both were secretly dating or not followed you both left and right, comments assuming the status of your relationship were thrown about casually — it was simply too much. None of your friends believed you either, their cheeky smiles and teasing comments following you both everywhere.
All because of Riki’s obsession with wanting to wear your hair tie.
At some point you both got sick of trying to clear up the accusations, just letting people think what they wanted to. After all, their assumptions and comments weren’t going to magically come true, just because they think a certain way.
Right?
THE TEASING HAD GOTTEN TO A POINT WHERE NEITHER OF YOU COULD STAND IT ANYMORE, causing you both to avoid people as much as possible. Did no one understand the concept of personal space anymore? Or did they forget that minding their own damn business would always be more fruitful than trying to gather tea about other people’s love lives, or lack thereof?
Most of the time, you both hung out in the library or rooftop, sometimes even resorting to taking refuge in the janitor’s closet, that’s how much you both were affected by the constant teasing. How come everyone was so damn invested in the love life of you both, when it didn’t even concern them in the slightest?
Today was no different. From the morning, all you both could hear were comments like ‘So when are you guys planning on making it official?’, ‘When will you both drop the bomb?’, ‘Don’t bother lying, it’s too obvious that you both are super into each other.’, etc., etc. Your fist was clenched tightly by your side, Riki’s grip on your waist also tighter than usual. The urge to punch them in the faces was extremely high. When were they going to get bored of teasing you both?
In order to escape them, Woohak steered you through the crowd, escaping into the stairway. The two of you quickly climbed up the stairs, going to the rooftop. You pushed the door to the terrace open, the cold wind whipping in your faces. Riki slammed the door shut behind him using his foot, his hand never leaving your waist.
You went towards the railing, leaning on top of it. Riki finally let go of your waist, leaning on the railing beside you. Neither of you spoke, simply enjoying the feeling of the cool breeze, and the majestic view of the cityscape beneath. The cars and people looked quite tiny from up there, like ants, which was to be expected, given that your school building was eight stories tall.
Suddenly, Riki cleared his throat. He spoke up, his voice low, eyes facing his front. “Do the rumours and the constant teasing bother you too much?”
You snapped your head towards him, your eyebrows furrowed in surprise. “Where is this coming from?”
He looked at you. “You know, the constant questions and comments that are thrown in our way? It just — it got me thinking: ‘What if it all bothered you too much? What if our friendship isn’t worth all the comments and excessive teasing we face?’ Just stuff like that.”
Your eyes widened in shock. “Oh my god — don’t you ever think like that, you hear me? Just because some people like to be annoying and poke their big ass nose in our goddamn business, doesn’t mean our friendship isn’t worth the trouble. Do you really care about other people’s opinions enough to end our friendship? Just like that?”
He quickly shook his head. “No no no, absolutely not — I just thought… actually, nevermind. I thought the rumours were making you uncomfortable, I’m glad I was wrong.”
A hint of a smile crept up your face, as you looked in front of you again. “A few silly comments can never make me break my friendship with you. You’re my best friend, aren’t you? Best friends are supposed to stick together, no matter what. Through thick and thin, all of our ups and downs Riki.”
He looked in front of him again, letting out a scoff, which was supposed to be an amused one, but it came out more bitter than intended. “Yea, best friends… that’s all we'll ever be…”
The last part was quiet, but you still heard it. The tips of your ears burned, a flush creeping up your neck. You quickly tried to change the subject. “L-Let’s try something.”
He furrowed his brows, looking at you again. “Try what?”
You bit your lip, quickly trying to think of something. “Uhm — let’s climb the railing and sit on it! Sounds fun, right?”
He raised a brow. “Absolutely not. That’s the stupidest, and most dangerous idea you’ve ever had, and that’s saying something.”
You pouted. “Come on, it’s not that bad — the railings are sturdy, we won’t fall.”
Riki firmly shook his head. “Nope. You want to climb it? Be my guest. But don’t tell me I didn’t warn you when you fall off and possibly break your leg. Or an arm. Or crack open your skull. Either way, I will say ‘I told you so’.”
You rolled your eyes, beginning to climb it up. “Oh shut up — I’m sure you would love to goad about it, if I fell off. You revel in my misery after all, don’t you–?”
You got cut off by a yelp of your own, your hand slipping. Riki immediately came to your rescue, pulling you off the railing. In complete and utter fear of the sudden momentary lapse of judgement that almost caused you to fall off the roof, you turned around, hugging him tightly.
He held you close, wrapping his own arms around your waist. He could feel your heart beating erratically in your chest, matching his own. He couldn’t believe how stupid and unaware of your surroundings you were.
He glared down at how you buried your head in his chest, in disbelief of your previous actions. You were shaking slightly in his hands, but he didn’t care. “Are you fucking insane?! You knew that was dangerous, why on earth would you still try to climb the damned railings? For the love of god, you could have fallen off and died!”
You meekly raised your head, preparing to retort, before freezing. He was so, so close. You could make out every single detail on his face, every freckle, every pore, every single blemish. Yet, he was so… mesmerizing.
Riki’s heart skipped a beat as he looked down at you. His voice took a softer edge, a gentle note evident in it. “Promise me that you will never…”
Too lost in his eyes, you didn’t hear him. His voice and every other noise faded to the background, your sole focus being on his eyes. They were pulling you in, drowning you in them. Like a siren luring an unsuspecting victim.
Your lips parted slightly, as you kept staring at him, his warm breath fanning your face. He swallowed hard, realizing exactly how close you were. The adrenaline pumping in his veins was fucking with his head, thoughts of what your lips would feel like against his filling his mind. His eyes flickered down to your parted lips, the urge growing, before they quickly darted back up to your eyes, meeting your gaze once again. “Promise me.”
The words seemed to be stuck in your throat, which suddenly felt parched. “I…”
His breath hitched, eyes fixed on your parted lips once again. His heart was still racing, the world seeming to narrow down to just the two of you, standing flush together on the roof. “You…” He whispered, leaning just a fraction closer without realizing it. “You what?” It came out softer than intended, just a barely audible murmur.
You swiped your tongue over your bottom lip, wetting it with your saliva. The words tumbled out of your mouth, without you even realizing it. “God, you’re so pretty…”
Riki’s world seemed to stop, his mind going blank. His grip on your waist tightened slightly. “What did you say?” He whisper-hissed, leaning just a tad bit closer. His gaze flickered down to your lips again. The shift in the atmosphere around the two of you was becoming impossible to ignore, becoming electric with unsaid words and unacted-upon impulses.
You blinked, biting down on your lip. There was no going back now. “You’re pretty…”
His heart skipped a beat, then another, then another. He could barely believe what he was hearing — no one had ever called him ‘pretty’ before. Sure, he had heard other words: handsome, attractive, stunning, eye-catching — but ‘pretty’? Never did he hear that one before. But damn, he would be lying if he said it didn’t make his heart race — probably more than the other praises ever did. It was a word typically reserved for women, but hearing it from you directed towards him? It made his brain short-circuit.
He asked you again, just to confirm. “Pretty?”
You nodded, no longer scared of his reaction. “Very much so.”
He felt his cheeks flush again at the unusual comment. He was blushing, and he never blushed. But everything seemed to be different when he was around you.
His mind was reeling, as he tried to process this new information. You, his best friend, thought he was pretty. He leaned even closer, his lips just a hair breath away from yours now. “You really think I’m pretty?” He whispered, his voice just barely audible.
You gulped, nodding. “Yea — yea, I do.”
His heart started pounding rapidly in his chest, his breathing shallow. He could feel the heat radiating off your body, the closeness of your lips, the way you were looking up at him. It was starting to all fade out into white noise, the sound of his rapidly beating heart in his ears. His eyes zeroed in on your parted lips, and something in him snapped.
Throwing all rational thought out of the window, he closed the barely there gap between your both, softly pressing his lips to yours. Your lips were as soft as a cloud, feeling pillowy against his. The kiss was brief, barely more than a whisper. It was nothing more than a peck, but it was enough to make his heart jump out of his chest, into his throat. When he pulled back, his eyes were as wide as saucers, surprised by his own boldness. “I–”
You didn’t let him complete his sentence. You grabbed his face, cupping it with both hands, pulling his face towards yours again. You kissed him again, with a lot more vigour, pouring out your pent up feelings into the kiss.
He was caught off guard by the sudden intensity of the kiss, but he melted into it. His hands pulled you even closer, as if trying to meld your body into his. He parted his lips, deepening the kiss, as he felt your arms wrap around his neck, pulling you even closer.
One of his hands came up to your face, cupping it, tilting his own to further deepen the kiss. The lack of air was starting to hurt, despite how addicting your lips were. He pulled back slowly, not before gently biting down on your bottom lip, pulling it between his teeth, before letting go of it with a pop.
You felt a little dazed, but still smiled up at him, your eyes slightly hazy and unfocused. He chuckled at your state, planting a kiss on top of your head. “Pretty, huh?”
Your cheeks grew warmer at the teasing undertone in his voice. “Shut up. I meant it, you know.”
His grin grew wider, as he kissed your cheek. “I know. I hope this is a good time to say that I like you? Like, I really fucking like you, I was just scared to confess because of the recent situation… with the excessive teasing and all… and, well, the fear of rejection.”
You hit his arm. “You silly goose — if I didn’t like you back, do you think I would behave the way I do with you? Absolutely not. You’re lucky I put up with your antics, you know.”
He rolled his eyes, although there was a smile on his face, one which he didn’t bother hiding. “You know, the hair tie was just a ploy? I just wanted any potential suitors to back off of you, but I didn’t expect people to react like… that.”
You let out a giggle. “I figured. It was honestly a really cute, albeit smart move on your part. Certainly made everyone back off… only to approach us with a different reason.”
He smiled down at you, his expression utterly lovesick. His eyes were practically resembling hearts. “D’you think if we announced it officially they would finally stop?”
You shrugged. “Probably not. Hopefully yes. But — in order to make it official, you need to ask me first, you know? Learn to be a gentleman, Riki.” The last bit was just you teasing him, something that he caught on to pretty quickly.
He playfully rolled his eyes, before speaking theatrically. “Fine — would you like to do the honour of becoming my girlfriend, ___? Wait no, scratch that — would you make me the happiest man alive by letting me take the position of your boyfriend?”
You scoffed in amusement at his dramatics, before pretending to think. “Take me out on a date first, then I will think of it.”
He gave you a smug grin, a determined glint in his eyes. “Deal.”

The Encounter
The hallway was its usual self-chaotic and buzzing with the chatter of students heading to their next class. You were walking at your usual pace, headphones in, deep in thought as you mentally prepared for the day ahead. The last thing you expected was to be caught in a collision of bodies in the middle of the hallway.
“Whoa!”
You bumped into someone, sending a few papers flying out of your bag. You quickly bent down to pick them up, not even bothering to glance up at the person you’d collided with. You were more focused on saving your notes than on apologizing for the accidental bump.
“Hey, you good?” came a familiar voice, filled with that cocky tone you knew all too well.
It was Riki, the basketball star everyone fawned over. His voice had this self-assuredness to it, and judging by the reactions of others whenever he walked down the hall, he had a reputation. He was the guy who always had a crowd of people around him, but you couldn’t care less.
You nodded, as you continued picking up the papers. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just, uh, careful next time.”
Riki blinked, clearly thrown off. Most people would’ve been all over him-squealing, apologizing, or even blushing. But you? You just acted like nothing happened. Like he wasn’t some godsend the school adored.
As you finished gathering your papers, you glanced up at him for the first time. And when you did, you gave him a small, casual smile-just enough to acknowledge him without making it anything special.
It wasn’t a flirtatious smile. It wasn’t anything overly friendly either. It was just… a smile. But to Riki, it was as if the world had slowed down. He felt his chest tighten and his mind race.
He swallowed.
“Whoa,” he muttered under his breath, staring at you. “Did she just… smile at me?”
His friends had started walking up behind him, no doubt noticing the intensity in his gaze. They all exchanged a few confused glances as they watched Riki stand there, practically frozen.
“Bro,” Jay called out, breaking his trance. “You alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Riki shook his head, trying to snap out of it, but the image of your smile was burned into his mind. He turned to his friends and said, “No, no. You don’t get it. That smile… it was different. It was the one. It’s-” He paused, trying to get his words together. “It’s like love at first sight.”
His friends stared at him, deadpan.
“What?” Jake asked, narrowing his eyes. “You’re serious? Dude, you’re delusional.”
“No, listen,” Riki continued, now pacing, clearly ignoring their sarcasm. “She didn’t act like every other girl. She didn’t freak out or go all blushy when she saw me. She didn’t act starstruck. She’s different. She gets me.”
Heeseung rubbed his temples. “Bro, you’re definitely on something. You ran into her, and she just gave you a smile. That’s not love at first sight, that’s just you being dramatic.”
Riki wasn’t hearing any of it. “No, you don’t understand. I’m telling you, I’m in love with her. And I’m gonna make her my queen.”
Jay snorted. “My queen? Are we in some medieval romance movie now? C’mon, man, be for real.”
But Riki was unwavering. “I’m serious. I’m going to make her fall for me. I just… I know it. She’s the one.”
Sunoo, leaning against the lockers, smirked. “Dude, you’re acting like you just found the Holy Grail or something. She Doesn't even know you.”
Riki waved off their teasing. “Doesn’t matter. I’m going to win her over. You’ll see.”
Meanwhile, you, in the background, had no clue what was happening. You picked up your bag, checked your papers, and continued walking, headphones back in your ears. It wasn’t that you didn’t notice Riki-he was hard to miss-but honestly? You couldn’t have cared less. To you, he was just another student who thought he was the main character of his own movie.
Riki, however, stood there, still in his thoughts. He felt like he’d just witnessed something cosmic. Your smile had done something to him-made him believe, for the first time, that maybe he wasn’t just the guy who could score three-pointers, but that he was capable of… love.
His friends followed him down the hall, still ribbing him for his newfound “obsession.”
“So, what’s the plan now?” Sunghoon asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Are you going to serenade her in the middle of the cafeteria or what?”
Riki smirked, clearly not phased. “You’ll see. I’m going big. She won’t know what hit her. I’m going full king of hearts mode.”
Jungwon raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, good luck with that. You’re like the least subtle person I know.”
“Hey,” Riki said, “if I’m gonna go for it, I’m going all in. No half-measures.”
Jay sighed, shaking his head. “This is gonna be a disaster, isn’t it?”
“Probably,” Sunoo added, grinning. “But I’ll be here for the show.”
As Riki walked away, a small, satisfied grin spread across his face. He was sure of it. There was no way a girl like you would be able to resist him for long. After all, he had that charm. And if there was one thing Riki knew, it was how to get what he wanted.
Meanwhile, you made your way to your next class, completely unaware of Riki’s newfound mission-a mission he was about to turn into the most entertaining disaster of your high school life.
The Obsession Begins
At school, Riki spotted you by your locker again, headphones on as usual. He adjusted his backpack, ran a hand through his hair, and sauntered over like he hadn’t spent the entire morning rehearsing what to say.
“Hey.”
You didn’t look up.
Riki cleared his throat. “Hey,” he said louder, leaning against the lockers in what he hoped was a cool, casual way.
You finally glanced up, pulling one headphone out. “Do you need something?”
Riki’s brain short-circuited. He had spent hours planning a witty response, but all he managed to say was, “Nice book.”
You blinked, looking at the plain black cover of your notebook. “It’s a math textbook.”
“Oh, uh… yeah, I knew that,” Riki said quickly. “I love math. Big fan.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Really? What’s the quadratic formula?”
Riki froze.
“Exactly,” you said, putting your headphones back in.
From across the hallway, Heeseung and Jake were watching the exchange unfold.
“He’s crashing and burning,” Jake whispered.
“I give him points for effort,” Heeseung said, shaking his head.
Later that day, Riki’s friends gathered around him during lunch to debrief his latest failure.
“You said you were gonna play it cool,” Jungwon said, popping a grape into his mouth.
“I was playing it cool,” Riki insisted.
“You called her math book ‘nice,’” Sunghoon deadpanned.
Jake nearly spit out his drink. “You really told her you’re a math fan? Bro, even I know that’s a red flag.”
“It’s not a red flag!” Riki said defensively. “I just panicked.”
Sunoo smirked. “I think she has the mental upper hand, and you don’t know how to deal with it.”
“What does that even mean?”
“It means you’re whipped, and she doesn’t even know it,” Heeseung said, patting him on the back.
Riki buried his face in his hands. “This is so embarrassing.”
“Oh, we’re way past embarrassing,” Sunoo said. “But don’t worry, we’re here to make sure you keep embarrassing yourself.”
“Supportive as ever,” Riki muttered.
Meanwhile, at your table, your friends were having a very different conversation.
“Riki was staring at you this morning,” Julie said, doodling on her notebook.
“I think he was trying to flirt,” Karina added, scrolling through her phone.
You frowned. “That’s not flirting.”
“Oh, sweetie, it was flirting,” Giselle said, pulling her headphones off. “Awful flirting, but flirting nonetheless.”
“I don’t get it,” you said, biting into your sandwich. “Why would he even bother?”
“Because he’s into you,” Julie said, wiggling her eyebrows.
“Into me? He doesn’t even know me.”
“That’s probably why he’s into you,” Karina said with a grin. “You’re, like, the one person in this school who doesn’t worship the ground he walks on. He’s confused, and now he’s spiraling.”
Giselle snorted. “It’s giving ‘golden retriever chasing a cat.’”
“Exactly!” Julie said, clapping her hands. “And you’re the cat.”
“Great. I’m being compared to an animal,” you said dryly.
Karina leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “But admit it. It’s kinda fun watching him squirm, isn’t it?”
You smirked, not bothering to answer.
Riki wasn’t done for the day.
He had a plan-a bold, risky plan that could either win you over or completely backfire.
“Are you sure about this?” Heeseung asked as they stood outside the library.
“Yes,” Riki said firmly, holding up a small folded note. “This is foolproof.”
“Your definition of foolproof worries me,” Jungwon muttered.
“It’s just a note,” Riki said. “How hard can it be?”
The note in question was a piece of lined paper on which Riki had written a short (and in his opinion, very clever) message:
Hey. You dropped this: 🖤
– Riki
The plan was simple. He would walk past you, drop the note on your desk, and walk away like a cool, mysterious guy.
“You look like you’re delivering a ransom letter,” Sunoo said as they watched him sneak into the library.
“Shut up,” Riki hissed.
You were sitting at a table in the back of the library, headphones on, completely absorbed in your book. Riki took a deep breath, walked up to your table, and slid the note across to you.
Then, instead of walking away like he planned, he froze.
You looked up, noticing him standing there. Slowly, you picked up the note and read it.
“You dropped this?” you said, holding up the paper.
“Uh… yeah,” Riki said.
“I was sitting here the whole time.”
“Oh, uh, right. I meant to say I dropped it. And you… picked it up. Metaphorically.”
You squinted at him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m great,” Riki said, his voice cracking.
You glanced at the note again. “What does this even mean?”
“It means, uh…” Riki paused, searching for an explanation. “It means… you’re cool. Like, you dropped your coolness, and I wanted to give it back to you.”
Your lips twitched as if you were trying not to laugh. “Right.”
“I’ll just… go now,” Riki said, turning on his heel and speed-walking out of the library.
“What happened?” Sunghoon asked when Riki returned to his friends.
“She didn’t laugh me out of the room, so… progress?” Riki said.
Sunoo shook his head. “You’re like a baby giraffe trying to learn how to walk.”
Back in the library, you were still holding the note, a small smile tugging at your lips. You didn’t know what Riki was trying to do, but you had to admit-it was kind of amusing.
And maybe, just maybe, a little endearing.
The Unintended Slip
Riki wasn’t one to give up easily. Sure, you’d shot him down twice now, but in his mind, that just meant he needed to step up his game. If you weren’t going to swoon over his basketball skills or mysterious notes, he’d have to get creative.
Enter: Operation Study Buddy.
Riki barged into the cafeteria, plopping down at the usual table where his friends were mid-meal. “Okay, guys, I need a new strategy.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “You’re talking like this is a business pitch.”
“It is a business pitch-except instead of closing a deal, I’m closing the distance to her heart,” Riki said, dramatically clutching his chest.
Jake nearly choked on his water. “Did you actually just say that?”
“Focus, guys,” Riki said, leaning forward. “She’s smart, right? Always reading or doing something intellectual. So, I’m gonna ask her to help me study for our next math quiz.”
“Bold move, considering you thought the quadratic formula was a type of shampoo,” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Hey, everyone struggles in their own way!” Riki shot back.
Heeseung leaned back in his chair, folding his arms. “You think she’ll buy it?”
“She will,” Riki said confidently. Then, after a pause: “I just need to act dumb enough that she won’t suspect anything.”
Jungwon snorted. “That won’t be acting.”
By the time math class rolled around, Riki was ready. He spotted you sitting in your usual seat by the window, scribbling in your notebook. Taking a deep breath, he walked over and sat down in the desk next to yours.
You glanced up, eyebrows raised. “You’re sitting here now?”
“Yeah,” Riki said casually. “Thought I’d mix it up. Plus, I, uh… need your help.”
You tilted your head. “With?”
“Math,” he said, trying to look as clueless as possible. “You’re good at it, right?”
You stared at him for a moment, as if deciding whether he was serious. “What’s the problem?”
Riki pulled out his textbook, flipping to a random page. “This. I don’t get it.”
You leaned over to look, and Riki suddenly realized how close you were. He could smell the faint hint of your shampoo, something floral and light, and his brain momentarily short-circuited.
“This is literally multiplication,” you said, snapping him out of it.
“Yeah, uh, it’s been a while,” Riki said, scratching the back of his neck. “You know how it is-letters, numbers… it’s confusing.”
You gave him a look. “Riki, the problem is 8 x 9.”
“…Right. And the answer is…” He trailed off, waiting for you to fill in the blank.
You sighed. “72.”
“Of course! That’s what I was gonna say,” Riki said quickly.
You sat back, clearly unimpressed. “Do you actually need help, or is this some kind of elaborate excuse to sit here?”
Riki froze, caught red-handed. “I… uh… well…”
Before he could answer, the teacher walked in, saving him from further embarrassment.
Later that day, Riki regrouped with his friends.
“She saw right through me,” he groaned, slumping against his locker.
“To be fair, your acting skills are about as subtle as a neon sign,” Jake said.
“I’m starting to think she’s too smart for me,” Riki admitted.
Sunoo snickered. “Oh, we’ve all been thinking that.”
“Shut up,” Riki muttered.
“You just need to find something that’ll catch her off guard,” Jungwon suggested.
“Like what?”
Sunghoon smirked. “I don’t know, man. Maybe stop being so obvious. Or at least try to flirt without sounding like a confused toddler.”
“I’m great at flirting!” Riki protested.
“Are you, though?” Heeseung said, raising an eyebrow.
Riki rolled his eyes. “Okay, fine. What do you suggest?”
“Say something bold. Catch her attention,” Jake said. “Like, I don’t know-‘Hey, do you believe in love at first sight, or should I walk by again?’”
“That’s cheesy as hell,” Sunoo said, wrinkling his nose.
“But it’s memorable,” Jake argued.
“I’m not using a pick-up line,” Riki said firmly.
“Then what?” Sunghoon asked.
“I’ll figure it out,” Riki said, though he wasn’t entirely sure he believed himself.
The next day, Riki decided to go for a different approach: casual conversation.
He spotted you in the library during lunch, headphones on as usual. Steeling himself, he walked over and sat across from you.
You looked up, surprised. “Do you not have friends to eat with?”
Riki grinned. “I do, but I figured I’d grace you with my company today.”
“How generous,” you said dryly.
“So, what are you working on?” he asked, leaning forward.
“An essay,” you said simply, turning back to your laptop.
“What’s it about?”
“Why sitting across from loud basketball players is a distraction,” you deadpanned.
Riki laughed, leaning back in his chair. “You’re funny, you know that?”
“I wasn’t joking,” you said, though there was a hint of amusement in your tone.
He rested his chin on his hand, studying you. “Do you ever smile?”
You looked up again, raising an eyebrow. “Do you ever stop talking?”
“Not really,” Riki admitted, grinning.
You sighed, shaking your head. “Why are you even here?”
“I like talking to you,” he said honestly.
You blinked, clearly caught off guard. “Why?”
“Because you’re different,” Riki said with a shrug. “You don’t laugh at my jokes or pretend to be impressed by everything I do. It’s refreshing.”
You stared at him for a moment, then went back to your essay. “Well, if you’re going to sit here, at least be quiet.”
“Can’t promise that,” Riki said, smirking.
When Riki returned to his friends later, he was in a suspiciously good mood.
“Did something happen?” Heeseung asked.
“Yeah,” Riki said, grinning. “I think I made progress.”
Sunoo rolled his eyes. “You mean you annoyed her until she gave up?”
“No, I had a real conversation with her,” Riki said.
“What’d you talk about?” Jake asked.
“Mostly how much I talk,” Riki admitted.
“So… nothing?” Sunghoon said.
“Hey, it’s progress,” Riki said defensively. “She didn’t tell me to leave.”
“That’s the bar now?” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Baby steps,” Riki said, leaning back with a satisfied smile.
Back at your table, your friends were equally curious.
“So, what’s the deal with Riki sitting with you in the library?” Karina asked, leaning across the table.
“Yeah, did he say something dumb again?” Giselle added.
You shrugged. “He said he likes talking to me.”
Julie gasped. “That’s so cute!”
“It’s weird,” you said, though your tone lacked conviction.
“It’s cute,” Julie insisted.
Karina smirked. “I think he’s growing on you.”
“He’s like a mosquito,” you muttered. “Annoying but persistent.”
Giselle snorted. “Yeah, but at least this mosquito is kind of hot.”
“Kind of?” Julie said, giggling. “He’s basically everyone’s crush.”
“Not mine,” you said quickly.
“Sure, sure,” Karina said, smirking. “Keep telling yourself that.”
The Art Of Embarrassment
Riki Nishimura was used to being good at things-basketball, charming people, and existing in general. But somehow, you had turned him into a walking disaster. It was like his brain short-circuited every time you were in a five-foot radius.
Today, he decided he would try something new. No elaborate plans. No fake study sessions. Just pure, unfiltered Riki.
Spoiler alert: it was a terrible idea.
It started in the cafeteria during lunch. You were sitting with your friends as usual, laughing at something Julie said. Riki watched from across the room, trying to figure out how to approach you.
“Dude, stop staring,” Jake said, nudging him.
“I’m not staring,” Riki said, not breaking eye contact.
“You’ve been staring so hard I’m surprised she hasn’t felt it and filed a restraining order,” Sunghoon said, biting into his sandwich.
“Okay, here’s the plan,” Riki said, ignoring them. “I’m gonna walk up to her table and just… talk. Like a normal person.”
Sunoo snorted. “You? A normal person? Bold of you to assume.”
Riki stood up, ignoring the chorus of snickers from his friends. He was determined.
But as he crossed the cafeteria, disaster struck.
He was walking past a table when someone stuck their leg out, probably as a joke. Riki didn’t see it until it was too late.
One moment, he was confidently striding toward you. The next, he was flat on the floor, his tray of food flying into the air in a perfect arc.
It all happened in slow motion. His spaghetti landed directly on his head, and his juice spilled all over his shirt. A chorus of gasps and laughter erupted around the cafeteria.
“Oh my God,” Sunoo whispered from their table, already pulling out his phone.
Riki scrambled to his feet, spaghetti dangling off his hair like some cursed garnish. He looked around, his face burning, only to see you staring at him with wide eyes.
For a moment, the entire cafeteria was silent. Then, someone from the back shouted, “Nice save, bro!” and the laughter resumed.
Riki grabbed a napkin, trying to salvage what was left of his dignity. “It’s fine! Totally fine!” he said, though his voice cracked halfway through.
You, to his utter shock, were trying not to laugh. You hid your smile behind your hand, but he caught it. And even though he was mortified, he felt a tiny spark of triumph.
“Legendary,” Heeseung said later, slapping Riki on the back as they regrouped in the locker room.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Riki muttered, throwing his juice-stained shirt into his locker.
“Bro, you’re trending on Snapchat,” Jake said, holding up his phone.
Riki groaned. “I hate all of you.”
“To be fair, it’s not our fault you fell like a cartoon character,” Sunoo said, smirking.
“Shut up,” Riki snapped. “At least she laughed.”
“She laughed at you,” Jungwon corrected.
“Still counts,” Riki said stubbornly.
Meanwhile, you and your friends were dissecting the incident at your table.
“I cannot believe that just happened,” Karina said, wiping tears from her eyes. “He looked like a human spaghetti plate.”
“Poor guy,” Julie said, though she was smiling too. “He’s never gonna live that down.”
Giselle smirked. “He’s got balls, though. I mean, he still tried to act cool after all that.”
You shook your head, still amused. “He’s persistent, I’ll give him that.”
Karina leaned closer, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “You’re kind of enjoying this, aren’t you?”
You shrugged, but you couldn’t deny it. Something about Riki’s clumsy attempts to get your attention was… endearing.
Later that day, Riki decided to try again. He wasn’t going to let one humiliating moment define him. He spotted you by your locker and mustered up all the courage he had left.
“Hey,” he said, leaning casually against the locker next to yours.
You looked up, immediately noticing the faint red stain on his shirt. “You missed a spot.”
Riki glanced down, groaning. “Oh, come on. I thought I got it all.”
You chuckled softly, and he felt his heart skip a beat.
“So, uh, about earlier…” he started, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What about it?” you asked, closing your locker.
“That wasn’t, like, my best moment,” he admitted.
“No kidding,” you said, smirking.
Riki grinned, appreciating your bluntness. “But, you know, I think it’s a sign.”
“A sign of what?”
“That we’re destined to be friends,” he said, winking.
You rolled your eyes. “Destined, huh? Is that what you’re calling it?”
“Absolutely,” Riki said, leaning closer. “You can’t fight fate, you know.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Is that your way of saying you’re going to keep bothering me?”
“Pretty much,” Riki admitted, grinning.
You shook your head, but you couldn’t hide the small smile on your lips. “Fine. But if you trip and fall again, I’m not helping you up.”
“Deal,” Riki said, his grin widening.
Back with his friends, Riki was practically glowing.
“She smiled at me,” he announced, plopping down at their table.
“Are we supposed to clap?” Sunoo said.
“Laugh all you want,” Riki said smugly. “I’m making progress.”
Jake shook his head. “At this rate, you’ll win her over by graduation.”
“That’s the plan,” Riki said, grabbing a fry from Sunghoon’s plate.
Sunghoon smacked his hand away. “If you touch my food again, fate won’t save you.”
“Noted,” Riki said, still smiling.
At your table, Karina was eyeing you suspiciously.
“You’re smiling again,” she said.
“No, I’m not,” you said quickly.
“You totally are,” Julie said. “What did Riki say to you?”
“Nothing important,” you said, though the small smile lingered.
Giselle smirked. “Uh-huh. Sure.”
Karina leaned closer. “Admit it. You think he’s cute.”
“Yeah, like a puppy that keeps running into walls,” you said, but your friends could tell you weren’t entirely joking.
And maybe, just maybe, neither were you.
The Failed Love Letter
Riki Nishimura had a reputation to maintain. Star basketball player, charmingly chaotic, and apparently, a complete disaster when it came to you. After the cafeteria spaghetti fiasco, he decided it was time to go old-school. No elaborate stunts or public humiliation. Just heartfelt honesty in the form of a love letter.
Unfortunately for Riki, heartfelt honesty wasn’t his strong suit.
“‘To the radiant moon of my dull, dark sky…’” Jay read aloud, squinting at the paper in his hand. He looked up, his face scrunched in disbelief. “Riki, what the hell is this?”
“It’s poetic!” Riki said defensively, snatching the paper back.
“It’s something, all right,” Jake chimed in, holding back a laugh. “Are you writing a love letter or auditioning for a Shakespearean play?”
Riki groaned, flopping onto Jay’s bed. “I don’t know, okay? I’m trying to be romantic.”
Jay snorted. “There’s a difference between romantic and… whatever this is.”
“‘The thought of you haunts my every waking moment,’” Jake read over Jay’s shoulder, cackling. “Bro, she’s gonna think you’re a serial killer.”
Riki sat up, glaring at them. “I thought you guys were supposed to be helping me!”
“We are,” Jay said, crossing his arms. “By stopping you from embarrassing yourself even more.”
Jake nodded. “Yeah, no offense, but if you give her this, she’s gonna laugh. Like, a lot.”
Riki groaned again, running a hand through his hair. “Fine. What do you suggest?”
Jay grabbed a pen, sitting down next to him. “For starters, tone it down. You’re not Edward Cullen.”
Jake smirked. “Unless you’re planning to sparkle in the sunlight.”
“Can we focus?” Riki snapped, snatching the pen.
Jay and Jake leaned in, watching as Riki rewrote the letter.
“Okay, how about this: ‘Hey, I just wanted to say you’re really cool, and I like hanging out with you.’”
Jake blinked. “That’s it? That’s boring.”
“Yeah, where’s the charm?” Jay added.
Riki groaned for the third time that afternoon. “I can’t win with you guys!”
The final version of the letter ended up being a mix of dramatic flair and casual sincerity. Riki, satisfied with his work, slipped it into your locker the next morning before anyone could talk him out of it.
Later that day, you found the letter while grabbing your books. The envelope was plain, but your name was written on it in slightly messy handwriting. Curious, you opened it.
“‘To the brightest star in my universe,’” you read quietly to yourself, already stifling a laugh. “‘Every time I see you, my heart does this weird thing-like it’s trying to breakdance but forgot how.’”
You couldn’t help it; a small giggle escaped.
Your friends noticed immediately.
“What’s so funny?” Karina asked, leaning over to look.
You quickly folded the letter and slipped it into your bag. “Nothing.”
“Oh, come on,” Giselle said, smirking. “That smile says it’s definitely something.”
“Who’s it from?” Julie asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“No one important,” you said, trying to sound nonchalant.
But your friends weren’t buying it.
Across the hallway, Riki was watching from a safe distance. He could see you smiling, and though he couldn’t hear what you were saying, he took it as a good sign.
“Dude, she’s laughing,” Sunghoon said, nudging him.
“Yeah, but not in a mean way,” Jake added. “She looks… happy?”
“I told you it was a good idea,” Riki said, grinning.
“Sure, but let’s not forget the part where you almost called her the ‘ethereal goddess of your dreams,’” Jay said, rolling his eyes.
“Details,” Riki said, waving him off.
The next day, Riki was determined to act casual. You hadn’t mentioned the letter, but you didn’t seem mad or weirded out, so he considered that a win.
But of course, his streak of bad luck continued.
During gym class, you and your friends were sitting on the bleachers, watching as the boys played basketball. Riki, eager to impress, decided to show off a little.
Big mistake.
He went for a fancy dunk, leaping high into the air. For a moment, it looked perfect-until his foot slipped on the landing.
He crashed to the floor, arms and legs flailing like a cartoon character. The ball bounced off his head with a loud thunk, and the entire gym erupted into laughter.
From the bleachers, you couldn’t help but laugh too. It was just so… Riki.
He sat up, rubbing his head, and spotted you laughing. Despite the pain and embarrassment, he couldn’t help but smile.
“Smooth,” Sunoo said as he helped Riki up. “Really smooth.”
“Shut up,” Riki muttered, though his cheeks were burning.
Later, you ran into Riki in the hallway.
“Nice fall,” you said, smirking.
Riki groaned. “You saw that, huh?”
“Hard to miss,” you said, your smirk widening. “But it was entertaining.”
He rubbed the back of his neck, looking sheepish. “Glad I could amuse you.”
You hesitated for a moment, then reached into your bag and pulled out the letter. “By the way, this was… sweet. A little dramatic, but sweet.”
Riki’s eyes widened. “You kept it?”
“Yeah,” you said, shrugging. “It made me laugh. In a good way.”
Riki grinned, his confidence returning. “So, does that mean you like me now?”
You rolled your eyes, though you were smiling. “Don’t push your luck, spaghetti boy.”
As you walked away, Riki couldn’t stop smiling.
The Secret Love Potion
After Riki’s very public fall, his confidence had taken a slight hit, but he wasn’t about to let it stop him. He had come too far-he’d written a love letter (okay, a little over the top), he’d made you laugh (even if it was at his expense), and he’d managed to get a bit of a smile out of you. Progress was being made.
But how could he keep it going? He needed a new plan.
Riki sat at the lunch table with his usual crew: Heeseung, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jake, and, of course, Jay, who was doing his best to ignore the absurdity of the situation.
“So, what’s the move today, Riki?” Heeseung asked, tapping his chopsticks against the table.
Riki sighed dramatically. “I need to do something big. Something that’ll make her see that I’m… I’m different.”
“You mean not a disaster?” Jake said, smirking.
Riki shot him a look. “Shut up. No. Something romantic. Something that’ll sweep her off her feet.”
“Like a flash mob?” Sunghoon asked, grinning.
“Not that romantic,” Riki said, shaking his head.
Jay raised an eyebrow. “Well, you did write her a letter. You could always, you know, try talking to her next.”
“Yeah, that worked out so well last time,” Riki muttered, thinking about the spaghetti incident.
“Okay, listen.” Sunoo leaned forward, his voice lowering conspiratorially. “I heard from my sister that girls love stuff like flowers and chocolates. So, why not do that?”
Riki looked at him like he’d just suggested he go skydiving without a parachute. “Flowers and chocolates? You’re joking, right?”
“Not at all, bro,” Sunoo said, shaking his head. “It’s classic. You can’t go wrong with that.”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Jake said, holding up his hands. “We’re in 2025, not the 1950s.”
“I’m not even trying to say I’m in love with her yet. I’m just trying to get her attention without looking like a complete idiot,” Riki said.
“You sure about that?” Sunghoon asked. “Because you’ve pretty much been a walking disaster in front of her so far.”
Riki gave him a look, but Sunghoon was right. He was already overthinking it. He needed something to make you notice him, something that would stand out, something unique.
And then it hit him.
“Wait. Wait, wait, wait,” Riki said, his eyes lighting up. “What if I make a potion?”
Jay stared at him. “A potion? You mean, like, a love potion?”
“Exactly!” Riki said, his face lighting up. “It’s genius! I’ll make this super mysterious drink with all kinds of weird ingredients, like herbs and… I don’t know, whatever sounds romantic. I’ll hand it to her, and she’ll be so intrigued by it, she’ll have to notice me!”
Sunghoon blinked. “Riki, that’s… the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
But the more Riki thought about it, the more it made sense. This wasn’t just any random bottle of juice-it was going to be a potion. A mysterious potion that no one had ever seen before. He’d make it sound like he was a mad scientist in the kitchen.
“Dude, you’re really setting yourself up for failure,” Jake said, shaking his head.
Riki grinned. “Exactly. I’m going big or going home. It’s all part of the plan. She’ll be so fascinated by me that she’ll have no choice but to fall in love.”
“Is that how this works?” Jay asked, eyeing him skeptically.
“Of course it is!” Riki said, standing up with newfound determination. “I’m going to make the most epic, mysterious potion ever.”
And so, with that, Riki set off on his journey to create what he now believed would be the ultimate love potion.
The next day, Riki arrived at school with a bag full of strange, unidentifiable ingredients. His friends watched as he walked past them, a look of excitement on his face.
“What is that?” Heeseung asked, narrowing his eyes.
Riki grinned. “I’m going to make the perfect potion. This is gonna be legendary.”
“Okay, but you’re not trying to drug her, right?” Jake asked, his voice full of concern.
“What? No! No, it’s just gonna be a weird drink that she won’t be able to resist.”
“You’re really digging yourself into a hole here, dude,” Sunghoon muttered.
During lunch, Riki found you at your usual spot. You were sitting with Karina, Giselle, and Julie, talking about something you all found funny.
Riki tried to act casual as he walked over, though the bag in his hand gave him away.
“Hey,” he said, his voice unnervingly loud. “I’ve got something for you.”
You turned, raising an eyebrow. “What’s this?”
“It’s a potion,” Riki said, grinning like a mad scientist. “A love potion. Totally mysterious. You’ll love it.”
You looked at the bag. “A potion? Really?”
“Yeah!” Riki said, pulling out a small glass bottle that looked like it belonged in a mad scientist’s lab. Inside was a bubbling purple liquid, with what appeared to be floating herbs and glitter.
You tried to hide your amusement. “Uh, okay… What’s it supposed to do?”
“It’ll make you… um… fall in love with me,” Riki said, with far too much enthusiasm.
Your eyes widened. “You want me to drink that?”
“Yeah! It’s totally safe,” he said, though it was clear he had no idea what he’d actually made.
You couldn’t help it. You burst out laughing. “Riki, this is insane.”
But you took the bottle from him anyway. “I’ll take it,” you said with a smile, “but don’t expect me to fall in love with you because of this.”
Riki beamed. “It’s worth a shot, right?”
As you walked away, you tried to hold in your giggles. The potion was definitely the most ridiculous thing Riki had ever done, but it was kind of cute. You could tell he’d put a lot of effort into it-even if it was a total failure.
That afternoon, you showed your friends the bottle, and they all had a good laugh at Riki’s expense.
“I swear, he’s got to be delusional,” Karina said, eyeing the potion. “But, like, in the best way.”
“You should definitely keep it as a souvenir,” Giselle said, raising an eyebrow. “It’ll be hilarious to bring up later.”
Julie smirked. “Maybe you can actually drink it and see what happens.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t stop smiling.
Meanwhile, Riki sat with his friends, eagerly waiting for any word from you.
“So, uh, did she drink it?” Jake asked.
“No,” Riki said, deflating a little. “But she took it, so that’s something.”
“You’ve got a better chance with her if you just, you know, talk to her like a normal human being,” Heeseung said.
But Riki wasn’t listening. As far as he was concerned, this potion was his ticket to success.
As the day ended, you threw the potion in your bag, secretly touched by Riki’s effort, but fully aware of how ridiculous the whole thing was.
You couldn’t help but smile to yourself. Maybe Riki was a bit of a disaster, but he was also kind of charming in his own, chaotic way.
The Unintentional Date
Riki’s love potion-while the perfect display of his desperation-wasn’t exactly the magical breakthrough he had hoped for. But that didn’t deter him. If anything, he was more determined to win you over, now that he’d officially made a fool of himself.
The next morning, as Riki was heading to class, he saw you at your locker. You were looking through your bag, completely unaware of the impending chaos that was about to unfold.
Riki decided to make his move.
“Hey, you!” he called out, giving his signature awkward-but-trying-to-be-cool grin.
You turned, raising an eyebrow. “Oh, hey, Riki. What’s up?”
“Uh, not much. Just-” He paused for dramatic effect, trying to look calm, but failing miserably. “Just wanted to see how the potion worked for you last night.”
You blinked at him for a moment. “The potion?”
He nodded, his expression too serious for the situation. “Yeah, you know, the love potion.”
You snorted. “Oh right, the one that looks like it came straight out of a mad scientist’s basement?”
Riki winced. “It’s… it’s a special recipe.”
“Oh, I can tell,” you said, trying not to laugh. “I haven’t drunk it yet, but I did keep it as a reminder of how creative you are.”
He smiled, clearly proud of himself. “I knew you’d keep it. You know, it’s a one-of-a-kind potion. It’s got… uh… special ingredients.”
“What kind of ingredients?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Riki looked around nervously, as if trying to remember what he’d actually put in the potion. “Uh, a secret blend of… um… lavender, honey, and… a dash of, like… magic?”
“Magic,” you repeated, deadpan. “That’s totally reassuring.”
“I mean, yeah. Magic is always part of the equation, right?” Riki shrugged, clearly grasping at straws.
Before you could respond, Heeseung appeared behind him. “Riki, you’ve got a huge glob of chocolate syrup on your shirt,” he said, pointing.
Riki glanced down at his shirt in panic. There, right in the center of his chest, was a sticky blotch of chocolate sauce.
“What?!” he exclaimed. “Where did that-”
You couldn’t hold it in any longer. You burst out laughing, and Heeseung did the same.
“Nice,” you said, still laughing. “Looks like you’re really sweeping me off my feet with that shirt.”
Riki groaned, swiping at the mess with his sleeve, only making it worse.
“Did you steal the chocolate syrup from the cafeteria again?” Heeseung asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Shut up, it’s… I’m not stealing!” Riki said, looking utterly defeated.
As if on cue, Sunghoon walked by, shaking his head. “You’re a walking disaster, man.”
“Thanks for the support, guys,” Riki muttered, still trying to wipe the chocolate off.
“Honestly,” you said, trying to stifle your laughter, “I think I’ll just drink the potion now. Maybe it’ll fix your whole ‘hot mess’ thing.”
Riki stared at you in horror. “Wait, what?!”
You flashed him a mischievous grin. “Just kidding. But you do look like you need some kind of miracle.”
Riki looked like he might die on the spot, but somehow, he managed to give you a crooked grin. “Yeah, guess I do.”
Later that day, Riki, still trying to salvage what little dignity he had left, decided to take a different approach. He’d seen the school was having a “Karaoke Night” for the senior class, and he figured that if he could sing something ridiculous in front of everyone-especially you-it would definitely get your attention.
The problem? Riki couldn’t sing. Not even a little bit.
But did that stop him? Absolutely not.
That afternoon, he spent hours researching “romantic songs” on his phone, hoping to pick the one that would absolutely sweep you off your feet. His friend group, of course, was less than supportive.
“You’re really doing this?” Sunghoon asked, facepalming. “Riki, you’re tone-deaf.”
“I’m not tone-deaf,” Riki argued, crossing his arms. “I have an amazing voice. Trust me.”
Jake raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been singing in the shower for years, and we can still hear you across the hall.”
“Yeah, bro. You sound like a cat being strangled,” Sunghoon added.
“Thanks for the confidence boost, guys,” Riki muttered. “But I’m doing this. For her.”
“Yeah, good luck with that,” Heeseung said, tapping him on the shoulder. “You might need a backup plan… like, a good excuse for why you completely butcher the song.”
Riki grinned. “I’m gonna do this. You’ll see.”
That evening, Karaoke Night arrived, and the gymnasium was buzzing with energy. The lights were dimmed, the stage was set up, and students were taking turns picking songs from the cheesy setlist.
Riki, with a mix of nervousness and determination, stepped up to the mic, the crowd falling silent as he grabbed it with shaky hands. You were sitting with your friends near the back, watching with amused expressions.
“What’s he doing?” Karina asked, eyebrow raised.
“I think he’s about to make a fool of himself,” Giselle said, already bracing for impact.
Julie grinned. “I can’t wait for this.”
Riki adjusted the mic, then announced, “I’m gonna sing ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston.”
The crowd gasped, and you did your best to hold in your laughter.
You could already imagine how this was going to go.
The music started, and Riki-bless his heart-sang the first line with full, unfiltered enthusiasm.
But instead of hitting any of the notes correctly, he sounded like a dying walrus. His voice cracked at all the wrong times, and he missed the high notes entirely. The audience went silent for a moment before everyone burst out laughing.
From the back, you could hear Heeseung shout, “God, Riki, you’ve ruined this song for generations!”
Riki, completely undeterred, kept going. His confidence was through the roof-despite how much of a disaster it was turning into.
“Riki, please,” Sunghoon shouted from the back, “we’re begging you to stop!”
But Riki was in it now. He was not backing down. He finished the song with as much gusto as he could muster, ending with an off-key, completely butchered high note.
The gym erupted into applause-but not for the quality of the performance.
Riki walked off the stage, out of breath, and completely humiliated. He gave a half-hearted wave to the crowd and sat back down at his table.
“I’m going to die,” he muttered, burying his face in his hands.
You couldn’t help yourself. You were laughing so hard that you could barely breathe.
“Nice job, Riki,” you called out, still laughing. “You really… um, sang your heart out.”
He looked up, red-faced and defeated. “Please, just tell me you didn’t think that was horrible.”
You wiped away tears of laughter and gave him a soft smile. “Okay, I’ll be honest. It was awful. But, like, in the best way possible.”
Riki blinked. “What?”
“You know,” you said, shrugging, “it was so bad that it was actually kind of… impressive. Like a car crash you can’t look away from.”
He groaned, slumping in his seat. “I’m never doing that again.”
But you noticed the faintest smile on his face, and for some reason, it made everything feel a little less embarrassing. Maybe there was hope for Riki after all.
Riki's Poetic Disaster
The classroom buzzed with the sound of chairs scraping the floor and low murmurs as your small poetry club prepared for its weekly meeting. You sat in your usual spot, notebook open, fingers lightly tapping your pen as you waited for your turn to present. It was your favorite place, a peaceful escape from the chaos of school.
That peace, however, was shattered when the classroom door burst open.
Riki swaggered in like he was about to perform at a sold-out stadium, not join a poetry club meeting. His varsity jacket was slung over his shoulder, and he looked around the room with a grin that screamed I’m about to change your life.
Giselle leaned over to whisper in your ear, “Oh no. He’s Shakespeare-ing his way into embarrassment, I can feel it.”
You sighed, bracing yourself. “What is he doing here?”
Riki spotted you and immediately lit up like a neon sign. “Yo!” he called, waving with both hands as though you were on opposite ends of a football field. “This the poetry thing?”
The entire room turned to look at him, a mix of amusement and disbelief on their faces. After all, Riki had once loudly declared in English class that “books are just fancy napkins with words” and “poetry is for sad people with nothing better to do.”
“Yep, he’s officially lost it,” Karina muttered from the other side of the room.
Riki walked up to the front of the room, all confident. “Hey, uh, I’m Riki. Some of you might know me as the star of our basketball team-no autographs, please. But today, I’m here to…uh, you know, embrace art and stuff.”
You blinked. “Why are you here?”
He winked. “I’m here to support you, obviously. And, uh, to share my gift with the world.”
“Your…gift?”
“Yeah,” Riki said, completely serious. “Poetry. I wrote a poem. It’s deep. You’re gonna love it.”
The club stared at him, stunned. Finally, the president of the club, a quiet senior named Mina, gestured for him to go ahead. “Well…we’d love to hear it.”
Riki cleared his throat, pulling a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket. He unfolded it with the precision of someone unveiling the Mona Lisa.
“This,” he began, “is called ‘Love is Like Basketball.’”
Giselle buried her face in her hands. Karina groaned audibly.
Riki began, his voice overly dramatic and far too loud for the small room:
“Love is like basketball.
You gotta dribble through life,
but sometimes…
the ball hits you in the face.
And that ball?
That’s you.
You’re the ball.
And I’m…the player.”
Sunoo, who had somehow slipped into the back of the room to spectate, muttered, “This is physically painful.”
Riki continued, oblivious:
“I shoot my shot,
and sometimes I miss.
But then I rebound,
because love is all about…
rebounds.
Also, you’re hot like the sun,
but cool like water.
And that’s why I like you.
End poem.”
The room was dead silent. Somewhere outside, a bird squawked, as if protesting the tragedy that had just unfolded.
Giselle whispered, “I’m in physical pain. I think I’m getting secondhand embarrassment hives.”
Riki, completely unaware, smiled proudly and folded his paper. “What’d you think?” he asked, looking directly at you.
You blinked at him, unsure whether to laugh, cry, or stage an intervention. “Uh…it’s…unique?”
“Right?” He grinned wider. “I’m basically the next Shakespeare.”
“That was worse than the time you tried to rap during gym class,” Karina said, shaking her head.
“Hey, that rap had bars,” Riki shot back.
Giselle smirked. “Bars? That poem had potholes.”
Riki ignored her, his confidence unwavering. “I put my heart into that, okay? And I wrote it for you.” He pointed at you, completely serious. “So…what do you think? Be honest.”
You couldn’t help it-you burst out laughing. You laughed so hard your stomach hurt, and tears pricked the corners of your eyes.
Riki’s grin faltered. “Wait, are you laughing at me?”
“Riki,” you said, finally catching your breath, “that was the worst poem I’ve ever heard. But…thank you.”
He perked up. “Wait, so you liked it?”
“No,” you said, still laughing. “But I appreciate the effort.”
Sunoo leaned against the doorframe, shaking his head. “Man, she just told you your love poem is trash, and you’re still smiling. That’s commitment.”
Riki shrugged, his grin returning. “Hey, at least she laughed. That’s a win in my book.”
“You don’t even like books,” Giselle reminded him.
“Shut up, Giselle.”
As the meeting wrapped up, you couldn’t stop smiling. Riki’s poem might’ve been terrible, but his effort wasn’t lost on you.
Maybe, just maybe, there was more to him than his over-the-top confidence. And judging by the way he looked at you, he wasn’t planning on giving up anytime soon.
The Unfortunate Art Class
It was one of those days where everything that could possibly go wrong would go wrong, and for Riki, it was a day where his attempts to woo you went from embarrassing to downright disastrous. It all started in art class.
Riki had been practicing his sketching-well, more like pretending to practice-while thinking about how he could impress you next. He’d tried singing (and failed), created a disastrous potion (also a failure), and now, he figured, it was time to move on to something different: art.
“Yeah, I’m a man of many talents,” Riki muttered to himself, casually flicking his pencil across his notebook. He’d signed up for art class, mostly because it was a “chill” subject and because he knew you would be in there. You were always so effortlessly cool while sketching, and Riki thought that maybe, just maybe, if he could draw something beautiful, you’d finally take him seriously.
It was a flawless plan, in theory.
Except for the fact that he was absolutely terrible at drawing.
As you walked into the room, Riki immediately straightened up, trying to act casual while pretending to concentrate on the absolute mess of a sketch he was working on. It looked like someone had thrown a bunch of spaghetti at the paper and then tried to pass it off as “modern art.”
You glanced over at him. “What’s that supposed to be, Riki?”
Riki froze, his pencil hovering over the page. He glanced at his work and then back at you, trying to cover up the chaos he’d created. “Uh, it’s… it’s a modern interpretation of… love?”
You squinted at the scribbles, unsure whether he was being serious or if this was another one of his random, ridiculous attempts to impress you. “A modern interpretation of love?” you asked, not hiding your amusement. “It looks like a blob of mashed potatoes got into a fight with a pencil.”
“Excuse you,” Riki said, puffing out his chest. “It’s abstract.”
“Oh, I see,” you said, nodding, “I didn’t realize ‘abstract’ meant ‘I-don’t-know-how-to-draw-a-stick-figure’.”
Riki groaned, his face turning bright red. “It’s art, okay? You wouldn’t get it.”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t want to get it,” you said with a teasing smile. “I’ve got better things to do than trying to decode your spaghetti disaster.”
Riki sat back in his seat, sulking, and that’s when his art teacher, Mr. Han, walked up to inspect his work.
“Ah, Riki,” Mr. Han said, adjusting his glasses and peering at the page. “Interesting… piece.”
“Thanks, Mr. Han,” Riki said, looking proud for a second, before Mr. Han continued.
“It’s… very… unique.”
Riki’s smile faltered. “Is that a good thing?”
“Well,” Mr. Han said slowly, “the concept is ambitious, but I think you might want to, you know, work on making things… recognizable?”
Riki’s face fell. “Okay, okay, but it’s modern, Mr. Han. It’s supposed to be about the chaos of love.”
Mr. Han raised an eyebrow. “Sure, but love’s supposed to be nice, not this. I think you’re looking for a different kind of love.”
And with that, he walked off, leaving Riki to stew in his misery.
“See? Told you,” you said from across the room, still chuckling under your breath.
“Shut up,” Riki muttered, throwing his pencil down in frustration. “It’s harder than it looks, okay?”
You shrugged, grinning. “Well, if this is your idea of love, I think I’d rather be single.”
Riki slumped in his chair. “Yeah, well, I’m sure you’d love that.”
As the class went on, Riki couldn’t help but sneak glances at you while pretending to concentrate on his new abstract “art.” He kept thinking of ways to get you to notice him, to actually like him. The potion was a bust, the karaoke disaster still haunted him, and his art was more of a crime scene than anything else.
But then, like a bolt of inspiration, it hit him. He didn’t need to be good at drawing. He didn’t even need to be good at singing. What if he just pretended to be good at something else? Something you liked?
That’s when he saw it-on the shelf near the back of the room. The most perfect thing he’d ever laid eyes on: the class’s art supplies. Specifically, a pack of colored markers. He quickly grabbed one, then another, and another, all while ignoring Mr. Han’s suspicious gaze.
“I’m going to do it,” he whispered to himself, suddenly determined. “I’m going to draw her the most beautiful picture she’s ever seen.”
Thirty minutes later, Riki proudly presented his latest masterpiece to you. He walked over to your desk, a big grin on his face. “Ta-da!”
You looked at the picture, then looked back up at him, and tried to hide your reaction. Riki had drawn what could only be described as… a stick figure of you, holding a giant heart with “I <3 U” scrawled inside it. Around you, Riki had drawn himself, in what he considered a romantic pose, though it mostly looked like he was having a seizure.
You blinked, trying to process what you were looking at. “Riki…”
He watched eagerly, his eyes wide. “What do you think? I’m going to call it ‘Love in Motion’.”
Your eyes flicked from the picture to Riki’s hopeful expression. “It’s… well, it’s certainly… something.”
Riki’s smile faltered. “Something good?”
“No, definitely something,” you said, biting your lip to keep from laughing. “It’s the most abstract thing I’ve ever seen. I didn’t realize you were such an avant-garde artist.”
Riki let out a dramatic sigh. “Great. You don’t get it again.”
“But hey, at least you didn’t include mashed potatoes this time,” you said, still chuckling under your breath.
“That’s it, I’m done!” Riki snapped, storming away from your desk.
“Come back! I’ll keep it!” you called out, still smiling. “You might need to work on the anatomy, though.”
After class, as Riki was leaving with his defeated art supplies, he caught up with his friends.
“Dude, what was that? Did you just draw her a stick figure of you two?” Jake asked, holding his stomach from laughing so hard.
“It’s called art, okay?” Riki muttered. “It’s supposed to be deep.”
Sunghoon, who had been walking behind him, raised an eyebrow. “The only thing deep about that is your delusion.”
Riki groaned, his shoulders sagging. “Why does she have to be so… perfect? I keep trying everything and it’s just not working.”
“You’re trying too hard, man,” Heeseung said, slapping him on the back. “Maybe you should just chill out a bit and be yourself.”
“Yeah, because ‘myself’ is an artless, tone-deaf disaster who can’t draw a stick figure right,” Riki said bitterly.
“You’re a work in progress, that’s for sure,” Sunghoon added.
Meanwhile, you were walking with your friends, holding onto the “art” Riki had given you. You glanced at it one last time and grinned.
“You know what?” Karina said. “That might just be the worst thing I’ve ever seen, but I kinda think it’s sweet.”
“I think it’s cute that he keeps trying,” Giselle agreed. “He’s a mess, but at least he’s trying.”
“Yeah,” you said with a soft smile, “but you’ve got to admit, his failures are kinda entertaining.”
Julie raised an eyebrow. “But what if you did give him a chance?”
You rolled your eyes but smiled. “Maybe. But for now, I’m having too much fun watching him crash and burn.”
The Desperate Measures
Riki had hit rock bottom.
He was no longer just the awkward, cringe-worthy guy trying to impress you with grand gestures. Now, he had become… desperate. Desperate to the point where he was willing to go behind your back and ask your friends for advice-terrible, absolutely terrible advice, which he took way too seriously.
It all started one afternoon during lunch. You were sitting with your friends, Karina, Giselle, and Julie, chatting and laughing about some random school gossip. Riki, seated at a table nearby with his basketball crew, could not stop staring at you. Every time you laughed or smiled, it felt like a small dagger to his heart-but in a good way-because, you know, he was in love.
But this was it. He was done. He couldn’t keep pretending to be casual about it. He needed a real plan. He needed help.
After a few minutes of overthinking, Riki made up his mind. He could already imagine how amazing things could be if he just figured out how to get you to like him back. His friends had tried to help, but every time he took their advice, he ended up making things worse. This time, he was going straight to the source: your friends.
He’d seen Karina, Giselle, and Julie talking to you during lunch, so he mustered up all the courage he had and casually walked over to their table. He cleared his throat dramatically.
“Hey, ladies,” he said with a grin that looked more like a nervous twitch. “What’s up?”
Karina raised an eyebrow, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Oh, hey Riki. Didn’t know you were interested in joining our table.”
“I wasn’t,” Riki replied, a little too quickly. “I just need… uh… some advice. About her.” He nodded towards you, trying to be discreet.
Giselle smirked, clearly knowing exactly what he meant. “Oh, you mean Y/N?”
“Yes,” Riki said, clearly desperate. “How do I… get her to like me?”
There was a moment of silence as the three girls exchanged amused glances. They were all fully aware of Riki’s crush on you, and each one of them had been watching his attempts from the sidelines, laughing and waiting for the inevitable failure. But now that Riki was asking them for help, they were more than ready to give him advice.
Julie leaned forward, her voice low but full of mischief. “Well, Riki,” she began, “the thing is, you’ve gotta show her that you’re different from the other guys. You know, stand out in a way that makes her think you’re… special.”
“Oh, totally,” Riki said, nodding eagerly. “I can do that.”
Karina chimed in next. “Also, be unpredictable. You know, surprise her. Do something she won’t see coming. Maybe like, I don’t know… show up to class with a puppy or something.”
“Wait, a puppy?” Riki asked, confused. “Like, you’re saying I should just-”
“Yeah,” Karina interrupted, leaning back in her seat. “It works every time. Who could resist a cute dog? I mean, think about it. You walk into the room with a puppy, and she’ll melt. Instant win.”
Riki’s eyes lit up. “A puppy… right. Got it.”
“Also,” Giselle added, “don’t forget to be mysterious. Like, when you talk to her, keep it vague. Don’t reveal everything about yourself all at once. Make her curious.”
Riki took notes in his mind. “Mysterious, yes. Vague. Keep her guessing.”
Julie winked. “And don’t forget to compliment her, like, all the time. But make it subtle, you know? Like, I like your vibe or you’re different from everyone else. Keep it casual. Don’t sound desperate, even if you are.”
Riki nodded so furiously he nearly gave himself whiplash. “Right. Keep it casual. Subtle compliments.”
“And most importantly,” Karina said, her voice suddenly turning more serious, “don’t let her see you sweat. Even if everything’s going horribly wrong, just act like it’s no big deal.”
Riki took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. “Okay. Okay, I can do this. I’ll do everything you said. Thanks, guys.”
As he walked away, he was practically glowing with optimism, as if this was the breakthrough he’d been waiting for. What could possibly go wrong?
Later that afternoon, Riki put his plan into action. He had managed to convince his cousin to lend him a tiny puppy (who was far too energetic for Riki’s lack of experience with animals), and he had every intention of marching into your class with that puppy in tow. He had his compliments prepared, his mysterious vibes ready, and his subtle confidence locked and loaded.
He walked to your classroom, puppy in hand, his heart pounding in his chest. The puppy squirmed in his arms, clearly not impressed with Riki’s handling skills, but he was too focused on you to notice. He entered the classroom and immediately caught your attention.
“Hey, Y/N,” he said, trying to sound cool but still managing to squeak a little. “Look what I got.”
You looked up from your seat and blinked. “Uh, what’s that?”
Riki proudly held up the puppy. “A puppy. I thought it’d be a fun surprise.” He flashed a grin, trying to channel his best “mysterious” energy.
You looked at the puppy for a moment before looking back at Riki, your expression unreadable. “Why are you showing me this?”
Riki’s smile faltered for a second, but he quickly recovered. “Because, you know, puppies make people happy. And I thought… I thought you’d like it.”
You raised an eyebrow. “You got a puppy for me?”
“Yeah,” Riki said, still grinning, but now it was starting to feel forced. “Just, you know, to show I care. And that I’m different.”
You stared at him for a moment, clearly confused, before glancing at the puppy again. “Well, it’s cute, I guess. But, uh, where’s the rest of it?”
Riki blinked. “What?”
“You know,” you said, deadpan, “usually when people get puppies, there’s like, a point to it. Like, you’re adopting it. Or… giving it away. Are you just borrowing this puppy for a vibe check or…?”
Riki froze. He hadn’t thought that far ahead. “Uh…” He turned the puppy around and tried to make it do something cute, but the puppy only managed to chew on his sleeve. “Well… yeah, I mean, I just thought I’d bring it by. You know, to impress you.”
“Impress me with a dog?” you asked, looking genuinely perplexed. “That’s… a first.”
Riki’s face turned bright red. He wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out. This was nothing like what he’d imagined. He could hear his friends’ advice echoing in his mind: Make her think you’re special… Keep it mysterious… Compliment her subtly.
Instead, here he was, holding an unruly puppy that was completely sabotaging his “plan.”
“Uh, Riki,” you said, breaking the awkward silence, “I gotta go. Maybe next time you try impressing me, you could leave the puppy with its owner and just, I don’t know, talk to me like a normal person.”
Riki stood there, watching you walk away, the puppy tugging at his sleeve like it, too, was trying to escape.
Later that evening, Riki found himself sitting in his room, utterly defeated. He had tried everything. The puppy was a disaster. His mysterious vibe was nonexistent. And when he’d tried to compliment you earlier, it had come out as awkward rambling.
But what hurt the most? The lies his friends had told him.
“I thought a puppy would be enough to impress her,” he muttered to himself, staring at the ceiling. “I don’t get it.”
The Game-Changing Disaster
Riki had spent the entire week psyching himself up for this moment. It was the biggest basketball game of the season, and everyone was talking about it. The energy in the gymnasium was electric, and the entire school was buzzing with excitement. All eyes were on Riki, the star player of the team, and he was determined to use this opportunity to finally, finally impress you.
He had it all planned out. He wasn’t just going to play well-no, no, no. He was going to dedicate his performance to you, and in doing so, he would show you how much he cared. This would be the moment where everything would fall into place. All those awkward attempts, the puppy fiasco, the art class embarrassment-it would all be worth it once he made you notice him in the most epic way possible.
The game had started, and Riki was already in the zone. He was running up and down the court, weaving between his teammates and opponents, effortlessly sinking shots and making assists. The crowd roared in approval, chanting his name. He was on fire. This was his time to shine. The only thing left was to make sure you saw it all.
As the game went on, Riki began scanning the crowd, looking for you. He spotted Karina and Giselle waving their hands frantically from the bleachers, but that wasn’t what he was focused on. No, his eyes were locked on you-sitting in the third row, looking effortlessly cool with your friends, totally unaware of the storm of emotions Riki was experiencing from the court.
His heart skipped a beat. This was it. This was his big moment. He could feel the weight of the ball in his hands, the adrenaline coursing through his veins. As he dribbled past an opponent and took a quick glance at the crowd to make sure you were watching, he had an epiphany: he would dedicate this final shot to you.
“I’m gonna do it. I’m going to win this for her,” Riki whispered to himself, a smile creeping onto his face. “She’ll see. She’ll finally see how much I care.”
The clock was ticking down, and Riki could feel the heat of the game intensifying. The score was close, and the final seconds were approaching. His teammates passed him the ball, and he was wide open for a shot. This was the moment.
As he dribbled toward the basket, Riki suddenly had the thought of you in his mind. He could almost hear the crowd cheering for him, but all he could focus on was you. This is for you, he thought as he took the jump shot.
And that’s when it happened.
Right as Riki was soaring through the air, preparing to make the perfect shot, his gaze shifted back toward you in the stands-just in time to see you laughing with your friends. Why is she laughing? What’s so funny?
And that was the fatal mistake.
In his distraction, Riki misjudged his footing. He stumbled mid-air, his legs flailing wildly as he lost control of his balance. The crowd went silent for a moment as they watched Riki completely biff it mid-court. In one glorious second, he went from being the hero to the clumsiest guy on the court.
Riki’s foot caught on the floor, and with a loud thud, he crashed onto the hardwood, his body sprawled out in a full-on disaster pose. The ball, meanwhile, ricocheted off the backboard with the precision of a rock skipping across a lake, missing the hoop entirely and landing at the feet of a very confused player from the other team.
For a brief moment, there was a stunned silence in the gym. Everyone, including Riki, seemed to be in shock. His teammates stood frozen, and even the opposing team stopped mid-play.
Riki slowly pushed himself up from the floor, his face redder than a tomato. His heart was pounding, and he felt like crawling into a hole and staying there forever. The gym slowly erupted into laughter, and he couldn’t tell whether they were laughing with him or at him-he suspected the latter.
“Riki!” one of his teammates, Jake, shouted in disbelief. “What the hell was that?!”
Riki just groaned, clutching his forehead in embarrassment. “I… I wasn’t looking where I was going,” he muttered, utterly defeated.
From the bleachers, Karina, Giselle, and Julie burst into laughter. “I knew he’d mess it up,” Karina laughed, nudging Giselle.
“I didn’t think he’d do it this spectacularly, though,” Giselle added. “At least he can’t blame the puppy this time.”
Riki was too mortified to even respond, his mind still stuck on that disastrous fall. He was supposed to be impressing you, not doing an impromptu audition for a slapstick comedy show. He couldn’t even face you, especially after you’d probably seen the entire thing unfold.
But then, as he stood up, trying to salvage some shred of dignity, he heard the sound of someone clicking a camera.
“Hold up,” a voice called out from behind him. It was Sunghoon, his ever-sarcastic teammate. “I think I got a shot.”
Riki turned around, his eyes wide with horror. “Sunghoon, no.”
“Oh yeah, I got this for sure,” Sunghoon said, flipping his phone in his hands. “This is gold.” He held up his phone, showing Riki the photo-an image of Riki in mid-fall, mouth wide open, and arms flailing in a way that could only be described as pure chaos.
Riki’s face went pale. “Are you serious?” he asked, horrified.
“I’m not just serious,” Sunghoon said, grinning. “This is my new favorite thing to pull up whenever you start acting all cocky about your skills.”
“No, Sunghoon, don’t you dare-”
But it was too late. Sunghoon already had a plan in mind. “You can’t be mad at me when this is priceless. If you ever try to pretend you’re a smooth operator again, I’ll be pulling this up on my Instagram story.”
Riki’s stomach dropped. He could already imagine the comments: “Riki the basketball pro, more like Riki the human trampoline”, or “When you try to impress someone but end up impressing the floor instead”.
As the game continued, Riki couldn’t focus. He was too embarrassed to even think straight. His team managed to win the game despite his epic fail, but he couldn’t find any joy in the victory. Instead, he was consumed by one thought: How could he make it up to you after this disaster?
After the game, Riki sulked back to the locker room, avoiding his teammates’ teasing and pretending to focus on changing into his regular clothes. But he couldn’t stop thinking about you. What had you thought when you saw him crash like that? Was he still embarrassing? Was there any chance he could salvage what little dignity he had left?
And then, his phone buzzed.
It was a notification from Instagram. He opened it up, and his heart sank.
There it was-the photo that would haunt him for the rest of his life. Sunghoon had uploaded it, complete with a hilarious caption.
Riki groaned and buried his face in his hands. He knew that he would never live it down.
School Festival Chaos
The school festival was a legendary event every year-one of those days where the entire school came together to put on extravagant booths, games, and performances. The air was thick with the smell of food, the laughter of students, and the constant hum of excitement as people rushed from one event to the next. This was the day Riki had been waiting for.
The day he would finally win you a prize.
Riki had spent the past hour going from one booth to another, determined to prove to you that he was capable of doing something right for once. He had so many chances to impress you-so many games to win, so many prizes to grab. But despite his best efforts, he kept coming up short.
At the first booth, he tried to win a stuffed bear by throwing darts at balloons. Simple, right? Well, apparently not for Riki, whose aim was so off that he might as well have been throwing the darts with his eyes closed. The booth attendant was trying to hide their smirk as they handed him a consolation prize: a tiny rubber spider.
“Great,” Riki muttered, clutching the spider like it was the most embarrassing thing he’d ever touched. “Perfect for impressing Y/N.”
At the next booth, it was a ring toss, and this time, he was determined. The objective was simple-get the ring on the bottle, win a prize. It was foolproof. That is, until Riki threw the first ring, which somehow flew over the booth, narrowly missing someone’s head and landing in the bushes.
He stared at the ring as if it had betrayed him. I swear, I’m getting closer each time, he thought, trying to maintain his optimism.
After several failed attempts, he walked away from the booth defeated, feeling like a man who had lost his dignity in the process. But no! He couldn’t give up now! He had to keep trying. He had to show you he could win something, anything.
Meanwhile, you had been watching from the sidelines with your friends-Karina, Giselle, and Julie-amused by Riki’s increasingly desperate attempts.
“Is Riki… trying to win prizes for you?” Karina asked with a raised eyebrow, a teasing grin on her face.
Giselle snorted. “He’s been at it for, like, an hour. I thought this was supposed to be easy for him.”
Julie chuckled. “I don’t know, I’m just here for the chaos. This is honestly better than the game last week.”
You, however, couldn’t help but feel a little bad for him. Sure, it was funny, but it was also kind of cute in its own way. It wasn’t every day that someone was this determined to impress you.
Riki finally stumbled over to a prize booth that seemed like it was perfect for him: a giant basketball hoop toss. The sign promised a grand prize-an oversized plush lion. And you had mentioned before how much you loved lions.
This is it, Riki thought. This is my moment. She’ll finally be impressed. I can do this.
He stepped up to the booth, the prize looming large in his mind. His hands were shaking with nerves as he grabbed the basketball. It wasn’t a real one, of course, just one of those cheap foam balls you could get at a carnival, but Riki didn’t care. He was already envisioning himself handing you the giant lion, your face lighting up in admiration.
With a deep breath, he tossed the ball.
It missed the hoop entirely.
Riki groaned and let his shoulders slump. He watched in horror as the ball bounced off the edge and rolled across the floor, completely out of his reach.
“Nice try!” the booth attendant called out with forced enthusiasm. “Would you like to try again?”
Riki waved them off, his spirit broken. “No, I think I’ve had enough for today.”
From across the way, you saw Riki standing at the booth, looking absolutely defeated. Despite his continuous failures, you couldn’t help but smile. It was hard not to appreciate his effort. It was like he was trying so hard that it had become almost endearing-almost.
“Riki’s been at this for ages,” Giselle commented, watching him walk away from the booth, dejected. “This is gonna be a disaster if he keeps at it.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at the situation. “It’s like he’s determined to impress me, but in the worst way possible.”
Karina shot you a playful look. “Maybe you should help him out.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Help him? With that? He’s got this.”
But then you thought about it for a second. He was clearly trying so hard. And although he was failing miserably, you could see the genuine intent behind it.
“You know what?” you said, standing up. “Maybe I’ll show him how it’s done.”
You walked over to the same booth Riki had just left, where the attendant gave you a casual smile as you approached.
“Hey, what’s up?” they said. “You looking to win a big prize?”
“Yeah,” you replied with a smile, “I’ll give it a shot.”
Riki, who had been walking in the opposite direction, noticed you standing at the booth, ready to give it a go. His heart immediately started racing. What was this? You? Playing the basketball hoop toss? He couldn’t believe it.
This is going to be embarrassing, he thought. If she wins, it’ll be like rubbing salt in the wound.
But then something surprising happened.
You grabbed the foam basketball and made your first shot. It swooshed perfectly through the hoop.
Riki froze. “No way.”
You grabbed the ball again. Shot two. Swish.
His jaw dropped. “Wait, what?!”
You continued, effortlessly making shot after shot, as if you had been practicing for this exact moment. In just a few seconds, you had hit the required number of successful shots, and the attendant handed you the giant lion plush.
Riki stood there, stunned.
“Uh, well,” you said with a smirk as you approached him, the massive lion in your hands. “Guess you need to work on your aim a little more, huh?”
Riki could only blink, a mix of shock and admiration on his face. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “You… you really just did that.”
You handed him the lion with a grin. “I figured it was the least I could do after watching you fail so many times.”
He took the lion from you, blushing deeply, feeling like the biggest fool on the planet. “I… I thought I could get it for you. You know, so you could be impressed with me.”
You chuckled, shaking your head. “I am impressed, just not for the reasons you think.”
Riki’s blush deepened as he hugged the oversized plush to his chest, too embarrassed to look you in the eye. “Thanks. I don’t deserve this… but thank you.”
You smiled warmly at him. “It’s nothing, really. You were trying so hard, Riki. That counts for something.”
Riki stood there, holding the giant lion in his arms, his mind completely overwhelmed by how much he cared about you-and how much he wanted to make you proud. Maybe he wasn’t perfect, but at least he was trying, and he was getting closer to impressing you, even if it wasn’t the way he expected.
Later that day, as the festival continued, Riki’s friends couldn’t help but tease him about what had happened.
“I knew you were gonna lose,” Jake said, snickering.
But Riki just laughed along with them, holding the giant lion proudly. “Yeah, yeah. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. But hey, at least she won me a prize.”
His friends gave him a knowing look, but he didn’t care. He was content just knowing that you had finally noticed him.
Confessions Gone Wrong
It had been a few days since the school festival disaster, and Riki had barely been able to think of anything else. Despite his epic failures, there was one thing that kept him going-you. He’d been replaying the whole day over and over in his head, and it hit him like a ton of bricks: he had feelings for you. Big, gigantic, overwhelming feelings.
Now, he had to tell you.
It was time to confess.
Riki sat in the cafeteria, fidgeting nervously with his hands. His mind was racing a mile a minute. What if you said no? What if it was super awkward? What if you laughed in his face? He didn’t know why he thought confessing was a good idea in the first place. It was way too risky. But no, he couldn’t chicken out. He had to do this.
His friends, however, seemed to have other ideas.
“You got this, man,” Heeseung said, clapping Riki on the back. “Just be straight with her. Say something like, ‘I like you.’”
“Yeah, man,” Jake added, leaning in from the side. “Don’t overthink it. Just… do it.”
Riki stared at them blankly. “You guys don’t understand. I’m not just telling her I like her, I’m… I’m confessing. This is big. This is… important.”
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow. “Is this like, a romantic confession or more of a ‘I’d like to take you to dinner sometime but also I might die of embarrassment in the process’ type of deal?”
“It’s… both,” Riki mumbled, his mind swirling in confusion. “I don’t know, I just-”
“You know what would really work?” Jay interrupted, his voice suddenly deadly serious. “You gotta be like, ‘I don’t know what’s happening between us, but I just can’t stop thinking about you.’ You know, make it sound deep. Like you’ve been contemplating it.”
“Yeah, like you’re having an existential crisis about it,” Sunghoon chimed in. “Like, ‘I’m not sure if I’m alive or just existing without you.’ It’ll make her swoon for sure.”
Riki’s face turned crimson. “What? No, that’s way too much! I just want to say something simple!”
“Fine, fine, okay,” Heeseung said, shrugging. “Here’s the thing, bro: when in doubt, just make it funny. Humor is everything. You don’t want to come off too serious, like you’re trying too hard, right?”
“That’s true, but also, you gotta act confident,” Jake added. “Like, you’re the catch here, you know? Show her that you are the one who should be adored.”
“Got it,” Riki said, though he was starting to feel more overwhelmed than before. “Just be funny and confident. Easy.”
After what felt like an eternity of pep talks from his friends, Riki finally spotted you sitting at your usual table, chatting with Karina and Giselle. He took a deep breath, straightened his back, and made his way over to your table, trying his hardest to look cool. His heart was pounding, and his palms were sweaty. This was it-he was finally going to confess.
As he approached, your friends gave him a knowing look, but you remained completely unaware of what was coming.
“Hey, Y/N,” Riki greeted, standing awkwardly in front of your table, his fingers twitching nervously. “Can I, uh, talk to you for a sec?”
You looked up, your expression warm and friendly. “Sure, what’s up?”
Riki cleared his throat, trying to appear calm. “Okay, so, um… this is a bit hard for me to say, but… I’ve been thinking about it a lot, and…”
And then, just as he was about to continue, he felt the eyes of his friends boring into him from across the cafeteria.
“Say something smooth!” Heeseung mouthed from behind you, giving him an exaggerated thumbs-up.
“Don’t mess up!” Sunghoon whispered, and Riki swore he saw him holding up a fake phone to his ear like he was recording it for blackmail.
His heart rate picked up, and in the middle of the intense pressure, he completely forgot the smooth, confident line he’d planned. Instead, all that came out of his mouth was:
“Do you wanna, like… hang sometime?”
Your expression didn’t change, and Riki was already bracing himself for the awkward silence when-
“No, wait! I mean, bang…! I mean-!” Riki slapped his hand over his mouth immediately, realizing what he had just said. He blinked, stunned by his own words, and then the horror set in. He had just asked you-asked you to hang-and then he accidentally blurted out bang?!
You stared at him, your eyes wide in shock, and then… you burst out laughing. It was a genuine laugh, the kind that made Riki’s face burn with embarrassment.
“You… you want to-what?!” you gasped between laughs, clutching your stomach. “Did you just-”
“No! No, I meant hang out!” Riki sputtered, shaking his head frantically. “I swear, I didn’t mean to say that! I’m-Oh my God, this is so embarrassing…”
“Did you just..bang?” Karina asked, unable to hold in her laughter, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Riki, are you asking Y/N to… what, exactly?”
Riki wanted to die right there. This was it. This was his confession. He had just managed to make a fool of himself in front of you in the worst way possible.
“Bro, you gotta stop digging,” Jake said, face-palming from across the cafeteria. “This is like watching a slow-motion train wreck.”
Your laughter died down, but you still had a grin on your face as you wiped away the tears from your eyes. “I… okay. You really know how to make a confession memorable, I’ll give you that.”
Riki stared at you, trying to process what had just happened. “I swear, I didn’t mean that. I was just trying to say something simple and-”
“Yeah, you definitely kept it simple,” you teased, giving him a playful wink. “I think this is the most creative confession I’ve ever heard.”
Riki buried his face in his hands. “Oh my God, I’m never living this down, am I?”
“Honestly?” you said, leaning back in your chair, looking far too amused for Riki’s liking. “I think I’d rather hang out with you than bang...”
“You’re killing me here,” Riki groaned, his face bright red. “I swear, I’m going to die from secondhand embarrassment.”
But you just smiled, a mischievous glint in your eyes. “It’s okay, Riki. I get it. You’re nervous. You can always try again… just, you know, without the ‘bang’ part.”
“Yeah, bro,” Sunghoon piped up from behind, clearly enjoying every moment. “You gotta learn how to do this without sounding like a walking disaster.”
You turned to your friends, still chuckling. “Honestly, though, I think this is the best confession I’ve gotten all week.”
Riki raised his head and gave you a weak smile. “Well, at least it’s memorable.”
“You’re telling me,” you quipped. “In fact, this might just go down in history as the most awkward confession of all time. But hey, at least you didn’t say something worse, right?”
Riki wanted to die, but at the same time… he didn’t. Despite the awkwardness, despite his humiliation, there was something about the way you were teasing him-playfully, not mean-spirited-that made him feel like he might actually have a chance.
Later, as Riki trudged back to his friends, who were all practically rolling on the floor in laughter, he couldn’t help but smile through his embarrassment. At least you didn’t hate him. Maybe, just maybe, he had a shot at getting it right next time.
The Panic Panic
It was another regular school day-well, as regular as a school day could be when Riki was still trying to recover from his disastrous confession. He was walking to class, still embarrassed, but at least he was trying to act like nothing happened. His friends kept bringing it up every chance they got, but for the most part, Riki had learned to laugh it off… well, at least he pretended to laugh it off.
You, however, were always on his mind. It was impossible not to think about how cute you were when you laughed at his confession. It wasn’t mean, just funny in a way that made him feel a little less terrible. Plus, he loved how you didn’t seem to mind his blunders, and honestly, that made him want to impress you even more.
That afternoon, as Riki was sitting at lunch with his friends, he noticed Julie staring at him with a mischievous grin on her face. She was sitting with you, Karina, and Giselle at the table, clearly plotting something.
“Hey, Riki,” Julie said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “You know, I’ve been thinking… Y/N really deserves someone special, don’t you think?”
Riki froze, his heart skipping a beat. “Uh… yeah?”
“Yeah!” Julie said enthusiastically. “But you know, she might need a real man, you know? Someone who actually knows how to talk to her and doesn’t mess up their confessions in the most cringe-worthy way possible.” She smirked, raising an eyebrow.
Riki could feel his face heating up. “Oh, come on, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”
Julie winked. “Well, the whole bang thing was a little… memorable. But don’t worry! Maybe I should just set her up with someone else, someone who could actually sweep her off her feet.” She leaned back in her chair, giving Riki a teasing look. “What do you think? Should I hook her up with, like, Sunghoon or someone? He does know how to talk to girls.”
Riki’s eyes widened in panic. No way-he couldn’t let that happen. Not after everything he’d been trying to do. He had to prove he was the better option.
“No! No way, I-I mean, no! I’m totally… totally better than Sunghoon!” Riki blurted out, his words tumbling over each other. “I mean, I’ve got this! I know I messed up last time, but I can fix it! I can prove I’m… I’m a good choice! Way better than Sunghoon. Way better.”
Julie raised an eyebrow. “Really? You? Prove it, then.”
Riki looked over at Sunghoon, who was sitting with his friends across the cafeteria, casually chatting. He had his usual confident smirk on his face, like he could talk to anyone without even trying. Riki felt a spike of jealousy. Of course, Sunghoon was perfect. He was always smooth with the ladies.
But there was no way he was going to lose this.
“I can do it,” Riki muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. “I can… I just need to do something that’ll really impress her. Something big. Like, heroic.”
Giselle, who had been listening to the whole conversation, let out a laugh. “Heroic? Riki, do you even know what that word means? You barely survived your confession last week!”
“Oh, shut up, Giselle,” Riki snapped, puffing out his chest. “I’ve got this. I’m going to do something so impressive, she’ll forget all about the ‘bang’ thing.”
Julie grinned. “Sure, sure. Go ahead, then. I’d like to see how you plan to outdo Sunghoon.”
Riki, determined not to back down, stood up from his seat. “Watch and learn, everybody. Watch and learn.”
After some thought, Riki had what he thought was a brilliant idea: he would impress you with something athletic-something that would highlight his strength and talent. He couldn’t just be the awkward guy who messes up his words. No, he was Riki, the basketball star. Surely that would be enough, right?
Later that afternoon, Riki found you standing near the school gym, talking to Karina and Giselle. His heart skipped a beat. This was it. He had already seen Sunghoon playing basketball earlier, and he knew he could do better. He was definitely better.
“Hey, Y/N!” Riki called, jogging over to you with a grin plastered on his face. “You like basketball, right?”
You turned to him, looking mildly curious but not too interested. “Yeah, I mean, I guess. Why?”
“Well, I was thinking, maybe we could… I don’t know, shoot some hoops together?” He tried to sound casual, but his voice cracked at the end.
Karina raised an eyebrow. “Are you seriously asking her to shoot hoops with you?”
Riki shot her a glare, clearly ignoring her. “I’m totally fine with it, no pressure. I can show you some of my sick tricks.”
You raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained by his sudden enthusiasm. “Sick tricks? Like what?”
Riki grinned, feeling an overwhelming surge of confidence. “Like, watch this!”
Without waiting for a response, he jogged over to the basketball hoop. He grabbed a ball, dribbled it a couple of times, and then made a jump shot from a distance. The ball flew through the air, and… hit the rim.
It bounced off and fell straight to the ground.
Riki’s face immediately turned red. Okay, that wasn’t supposed to happen. He picked up the ball and tried again, only for it to miss the hoop entirely and roll across the gym.
“You got this, bro!” Sunghoon yelled from across the gym, watching with his usual smug grin. “Totally nailed it!”
You and your friends burst out laughing. Even Karina couldn’t hold back.
“You know, you really should’ve stuck with your original plan,” Giselle said, still snickering. “You know, the ‘just talk to her and don’t say anything weird’ plan.”
Riki stood there, trying to recover from his failed attempt, but now he was sweating. This was not going according to plan. This was supposed to be his big moment. Instead, it felt like a huge disaster.
“I-uh, okay, okay!” he said, finally looking back at you. “I can do better. I’ll-wait for it.”
You looked at him with an amused expression, barely holding back another laugh. “You sure you’ve got this, Riki? I’m not sure this is the ‘heroic’ moment you had in mind.”
Riki’s face was so red he could’ve passed for a tomato. “No, no, I’ve got this! Just-just wait!”
Julie, who had been watching from the sidelines, gave him a slow clap. “Oh, look, it’s the basketball star. Never mind, Sunghoon’s got this one, right?”
Riki felt a surge of panic. No, he couldn’t let this happen. He needed to redeem himself, and fast. He looked at you again, the pressure mounting. “Okay, okay, let’s-let’s just hang sometime. Maybe we can… actually do something fun. How about… a movie? Or something?”
You smiled, clearly enjoying watching him flail. “Sure, we can hang. But if you’re going to keep embarrassing yourself like this, I’m definitely going with Sunghoon next time.”
The panic that flooded Riki’s chest was almost unbearable. He was getting crushed by his own nerves and the weight of your expectations. No way was he going to lose to Sunghoon. He had to step up his game… but how?
Karina's Makeover Plan
The school dance was just around the corner. The buzz of excitement and nerves filled the hallways as everyone began preparing for what was sure to be a night full of glitter, lights, and, of course, a lot of questionable dance moves. For some students, the thought of attending the dance was an exciting prospect. For others, like Riki, it was the perfect opportunity to do something incredibly dumb for the sake of impressing you.
“Okay, listen up,” Karina said one afternoon as she pulled you aside after school, a glint of mischief in her eyes. “The dance is coming up, and you need a makeover. No more hiding in the background like some cute but invisible wallflower. It’s time for you to shine, and I-” She gave a dramatic pause, “-am the one who’s going to make that happen.”
You blinked, unsure if Karina was serious or just playing one of her usual pranks. “A makeover? Karina, I’m fine. I don’t need-”
“Nope, not happening,” she interrupted, her arms crossed and a determined look on her face. “You deserve to feel amazing. Plus, I need you to show Riki just how incredible you really are, especially now that he’s been-how do we say it?-failing miserably at everything.” She gave a dramatic roll of her eyes.
You groaned. “You seriously think Riki is the reason for all of this?”
“Well, yes! He’s a mess, and it’s obvious,” Karina said, her tone as blunt as ever. “But a makeover will give you that extra oomph to make him realize that you’re not just some girl who trips over her words. You are a force to be reckoned with.”
Reluctantly, you agreed. It wasn’t like you had a choice in the matter when Karina set her mind to something. You had a feeling she had already gathered a whole team of “makeover” supplies without even asking you for input.
The next day, you found yourself sitting in front of Karina’s full beauty arsenal-a bunch of hair tools, makeup, and the most fashionable clothes she could dig out of her closet. It felt like something straight out of a high school makeover montage, but you couldn’t deny that Karina had a way of making things work.
“You ready for this?” Karina asked, flashing you a grin. “We’re going to take Riki’s mind off every embarrassing thing he’s done. After this, he’ll be so smitten, he won’t know what hit him.”
You raised an eyebrow, skeptical but willing to go along with it. “Do you think this will actually work?”
Karina winked. “Trust me, it’s foolproof.”
Hours later, the transformation was complete. Karina had somehow managed to do her magic, and you looked… well, different. Your hair was perfectly styled, your makeup was subtle yet striking, and your outfit? Stunning. You barely recognized yourself in the mirror. You looked like you belonged in one of those high school romantic comedies where the quiet, shy girl takes off her glasses and suddenly turns into the hottest girl in school.
You turned to Karina, unsure of how to feel. “This… I look like I’m about to star in a drama.”
“Exactly!” Karina replied, her voice filled with pride. “You’re going to slay, trust me. Now, get out there and make Riki wish he had never messed up that confession.”
As you walked down the hall toward the dance, you could feel everyone’s eyes on you. It was like the world had suddenly stopped, and all attention was on you. You spotted Riki in the crowd almost immediately. He was with his friends, standing near the snack table, looking as if he were discussing the most important thing on the planet-most likely how he could redeem himself from his last attempt to impress you.
The moment he saw you, his entire demeanor shifted. His eyes widened, and his jaw went slack. His friends immediately noticed his reaction.
“Dude,” Sunghoon said with a knowing grin, “you’re drooling.”
Riki didn’t even seem to hear him, still staring at you in absolute awe.
“I think he just short-circuited,” Sunoo said, his voice dripping with sass. “Like, seriously, bro. He’s just standing there like a puppy who’s been hit by a bus.”
“Wait for it,” Jay said, eyes glinting with mischief. “He’s gonna try to walk over and make a move. Let’s see how he screws this up.”
Sure enough, Riki started to move toward you, his feet awkwardly shuffling in the most un-Riki-like way possible. His friends exchanged knowing glances.
“Here we go,” Jake muttered, sipping his drink. “This is gonna be good.”
As Riki approached, his face was flushed with excitement-or maybe panic, it was hard to tell. He took a deep breath, trying to act cool. “Hey, Y/N,” he said, his voice coming out slightly higher than usual. “You, uh, look… wow.”
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “What, no bang this time?”
Riki winced, the memory of his previous mistake still fresh in his mind. “I-uh, no. I meant to say you look amazing, like, wow, incredible. Seriously. I mean, you always look good, but tonight-whoa.”
“Thanks,” you said, trying not to laugh at how flustered he was. “It’s Karina’s work, so you know it’s dangerous when she’s involved.”
Riki chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “Karina really knows how to… transform people. You look so-” He paused mid-sentence, clearly struggling to put his thoughts into words.
“Like a goddess?” Sunghoon called out from behind Riki, earning an eye roll from Riki in return.
“Shut up, Sunghoon,” Riki muttered, his face now entirely red.
You couldn’t help but smile. “Don’t worry, Riki. I’m used to people staring at me like I’m a foreign species after a makeover.”
“That’s not the point,” Riki blurted out, finally gaining some semblance of confidence. “I-uh, I think you look amazing. I mean, seriously. Like, wow.” He nodded emphatically, and you could tell he was trying way too hard to not look like a complete disaster.
“You’re killing me here, Riki,” Sunoo said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “You’re acting like you’ve never seen a girl before.”
“Yeah, bro, relax,” Sunghoon added. “She’s just a person, not a whole new species.”
“Shut up, both of you!” Riki snapped, clearly annoyed but still unable to pull his eyes away from you.
You couldn’t help but laugh, feeling a little bit of satisfaction. You had managed to break him in the best way possible, and honestly? It was kind of hilarious. But there was something else, too. Something more than just amusement. You liked that Riki was so flustered by your appearance. Maybe, just maybe, he was starting to realize how much he actually liked you.
“Well, thanks for the compliments, Riki,” you said, a teasing smile on your face. “I’ll take it as a win, considering how awkward you’re being right now.”
“I’m not awkward!” Riki insisted, but even he could tell that his voice had a higher pitch than usual. He was a mess, and he knew it. “I-uh, I just wasn’t expecting you to, you know, look like that. You’re… wow. Really wow.”
“And I think he’s short-circuited again,” Sunoo added with a sly grin, earning laughter from the rest of the group.
Riki buried his face in his hands, embarrassed beyond belief. “I’m never going to live this down, am I?”
As the night wore on, Riki’s attempts to act cool around you only became more ridiculous. But secretly, deep down, you kind of liked it. There was something about his awkward charm that was endearing, even if it made him seem like a nervous wreck every time you were near.
The dance was just beginning, and Riki was clearly trying to muster up the courage to ask you to dance. Would he succeed? Or would he trip over his own feet like usual? The tension was real, but you couldn’t help but feel a little excited to see where this would go.
Mutual Feelings
The days after the school dance were quieter than usual. The whirlwind of awkward moments, and teasing had settled down a bit. But there was something in the air now, something that wasn’t there before-the heavy, palpable feeling of anticipation. You could tell that Riki had changed. He still teased you, still tried to impress you in the silliest ways possible, but now there was a certain realness behind it. It wasn’t just a game anymore. It wasn’t just about winning your attention. No, he was genuinely trying to show you how much he liked you.
And while you pretended not to notice, you couldn’t help but feel the same way. You’d always been the quiet girl, the one who stayed in the background and let things unfold. But the more you saw Riki’s awkward, goofy charm, the more you realized that maybe, just maybe, you weren’t quite as indifferent as you thought.
It was after school one day, and you were walking down the hallway with Karina, Giselle, and Julie. The air felt heavy with the usual chatter of students, but something about today felt different. As you reached the end of the hallway, you saw Riki leaning against the lockers, his friends gathered around him as usual. His eyes locked onto yours immediately, and a slight blush crept onto his cheeks.
Karina nudged you with a teasing smile. “So, are you just gonna keep pretending like you don’t see him, or are you finally gonna admit that he’s been getting to you?” she whispered, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
You rolled your eyes, but your heart skipped a beat when you saw Riki standing there. He wasn’t even trying to hide the way he looked at you anymore-his gaze was open, hopeful, maybe even a little vulnerable.
“Let’s just go,” you muttered, trying to play it cool. But before you could take another step, Riki called out to you.
“Y/N!” His voice was a little too loud, a little too eager. “Can I talk to you for a sec?”
You stopped in your tracks, your heart doing an odd little flip. You glanced at your friends, who were suddenly far too interested in their shoes, and then back at Riki.
“Sure,” you said, trying to sound casual, though you were anything but. You walked over to him, arms crossed, trying not to look too affected by his presence.
Riki shuffled awkwardly, clearly nervous. His usual cocky demeanor had melted away, leaving a more vulnerable version of him. It was almost adorable. He glanced down at the floor before looking back at you, his eyes softer than usual.
“Look,” he started, taking a deep breath. “I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this for a while, but I guess… I just need to say it now.” He ran a hand through his hair, looking ridiculously nervous.
You tilted your head, trying to act like you didn’t already know exactly what was coming. “Riki,” you said, your voice light, “you’re starting to sound like you’re about to give a big speech. Just get to it.”
Riki’s cheeks flushed even deeper, and he shifted from foot to foot like he was trying to find the courage to continue. “I-uh-I’ve liked you for a while. Like, a long while,” he admitted, his words coming out in a rush. “I know I’ve been acting like an idiot. I’ve probably messed up more times than I can count. But I really, really like you, Y/N.”
The air between you two felt thick, like time had slowed to a crawl. You blinked, trying to process what he had just said. You had known, of course, but hearing it out loud? It sent a strange warmth spreading through your chest.
Riki laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. “Well… I really am terrible at this, huh?”
You shook your head, a soft chuckle escaping your lips. “Not terrible. Just… maybe a little too dramatic. But it’s kind of cute.”
Riki’s eyes widened, and for the briefest moment, it looked like he was holding his breath, waiting for you to say something else. “Cute?” he repeated, as if the word had just been a huge revelation.
You gave him a look, suddenly feeling a little more serious than you’d intended. “Yeah. You’re cute, Riki. But you’re also incredibly frustrating. I’ve had to watch you stumble through all of this… and I’ve liked you for a while, too.”
Riki’s mouth dropped open. “You liked me? But-wait, you knew?”
You smirked. “Riki, I’m not blind. I’ve noticed. But I didn’t want to just say it out loud, especially when you were trying so hard to not tell me.”
He grinned, the embarrassment melting away into something much more comfortable. “Well, I guess it’s nice to know I wasn’t just making a fool of myself for nothing.”
“You weren’t,” you replied softly. “But… just so you know, I think you’re the one who’s been making a fool of himself, not me.”
Riki’s face lit up with that stupid, goofy smile of his. “Hey, I’m fine with that. As long as it means we’re, you know, on the same page now.”
You nodded, feeling your heart do a little happy flip. “Yeah. Same page.”
Just then, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and the rest of the gang came walking down the hallway, practically hovering near Riki like they’d been waiting for the moment.
“Finally!” Sunghoon grinned, crossing his arms. “We’ve all been waiting for this.”
“Yeah, seriously, you two are so obvious,” Sunoo added with a smirk. “Took you long enough.”
Riki groaned, but you could see the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “You guys were just as bad as I was, you know?”
Sunghoon laughed. “It was cute seeing you struggle, honestly.”
Riki sighed in defeat. “Alright, alright, I get it. I’m obviously a mess.” He looked at you, his expression softening again. “But at least I’m a mess with you now.”
You grinned back, the tension finally lifting. “Yeah, you are.”
As the group started walking toward the exit, Riki fell in step beside you. And for the first time in a while, it felt like the two of you weren’t just stumbling through this whole “relationship” thing. Maybe, just maybe, you were actually getting it right.
The Big Gesture
It had been a few weeks since the two of you had finally confessed your feelings, and everything felt like it was falling into place. The awkwardness was mostly gone, though Riki still couldn’t help but occasionally embarrass himself in the most hilarious ways. But now, it wasn’t just about the silly moments. It was about the real stuff-the moments where you could finally be yourselves without all the drama. Well, except for the good drama.
But Riki? Riki had been planning something. He wasn’t going to let things just coast along. No, he had to do something big, something memorable. He had been listening to all the advice his friends had been giving him-well, most of it anyway-and he had decided to take action. This time, he was going all out.
It was a Friday afternoon, and you were in your usual spot with Karina, Giselle, and Julie at lunch. You were chatting about the upcoming weekend plans when suddenly, you felt someone’s eyes on you.
You looked up to find Riki standing at the edge of the cafeteria, surrounded by his usual group of friends. But he wasn’t looking at you like usual. No, he was smiling-grinning, even-like he had some kind of secret. And that secret? You were about to find out.
He waved at you, his arms flailing in a way that made you almost roll your eyes. “Y/N! Come over here, I need to talk to you!”
You glanced at your friends. “What’s he doing now?”
Karina snickered. “I have no idea, but I’m ready for the drama. Let’s see what stupid thing he’s pulled this time.”
“Probably something that involves a microphone and a dance-off,” Giselle joked. “You know, classic Riki.”
But you stood up, curiosity getting the better of you. “Alright, alright. I’ll go see what this is about.”
When you reached Riki and his friends, they all looked at you with wide grins, clearly trying to hide something. Sunghoon was the first to speak up, his usual sarcasm oozing out. “Hey, Y/N. How’s it going? You know, Riki’s been planning something for you… and it’s definitely not a disaster. Not at all.”
Sunoo raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, no pressure. Totally foolproof plan here.”
You gave him a skeptical look. “What are you guys up to?”
Before anyone could answer, Riki suddenly stepped forward, his face almost serious-except for the small, nervous twitch in his eye. “So… I’ve been thinking about this for a while. And I figured it was time I did something big. You know, for you. Something that, uh… shows you just how much I like you.”
You blinked. “Wait, what? Are you serious? What are you planning?”
Riki grinned, a little too confidently. “Well, I can’t give everything away. But trust me, you’re gonna love it. Just meet me after school on the rooftop.”
You were about to say something more, but before you could, Sunghoon quickly added, “It’s going to be great. Just-no more questions. Just go.”
“I don’t trust any of you right now,” you muttered, but you agreed to meet him anyway. You were curious, after all.
Later that afternoon, as the school bell rang, you found yourself walking up the steps to the rooftop, your heart pounding a little faster than you’d like to admit. The rooftop was quiet, the sun beginning to set in the distance, casting a golden glow across the school.
As you reached the top, you saw Riki standing near the edge, his back turned to you. The breeze ruffled his hair as he turned to face you, his eyes twinkling with excitement and nervousness all at once.
“Y/N,” he said, his voice more serious than usual. “Thank you for giving me the chance to, well, be me around you. I know I’ve been a total mess… and yeah, I’m still not the best at this whole ‘romance’ thing. But I want you to know that you mean a lot to me.”
You were silent for a moment, your heart swelling at his words. He was so Riki-awkward, goofy, but somehow perfect in his own way.
Riki stepped forward, pulling out a small envelope from his pocket. He handed it to you with a nervous smile. “I wanted to write something for you. I thought maybe if I just, you know… talked about it, it wouldn’t have the same effect. So, um… here.”
You opened the envelope, reading the letter that he had written. It was sweet, surprisingly heartfelt, and completely Riki-filled with awkward metaphors about basketball and weird references. But underneath it all, it was clear that he meant every word.
“Riki,” you said softly, a smile tugging at your lips. “This is… this is sweet. And kind of embarrassing, but mostly really sweet.”
He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. “Well, I mean, I didn’t think you’d want some perfect love letter. I wanted it to be real.”
You set the letter down on the ledge beside you, taking a deep breath. “I’ve always liked you, you know. I just… wasn’t sure if you were serious. But now? I think I get it. You’ve really put yourself out there.”
Riki’s eyes widened, and he took a step closer, a goofy smile spreading across his face. “So, does that mean…?”
You laughed softly. “Yeah, Riki. It means yes.”
There was a brief moment of silence, a beat of nervous energy in the air. Then, almost without thinking, Riki leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a soft, sweet kiss. It was like the entire world paused around you. There was no one else around, no interruptions, just the two of you.
It wasn’t some grand, dramatic kiss like you’d seen in movies. No, it was better. It was the kind of kiss that felt real, warm, and full of promise. The kind of kiss that told you that maybe all the embarrassing moments, the awkwardness, and the goofy gestures were worth it because they led to this moment.
When you pulled back, Riki was grinning like a fool. “So, uh, I guess that means I did the right thing, huh?”
You laughed, your heart still fluttering. “Yeah. You did.”
And just like that, the rooftop, the sunset, and the world seemed to align perfectly for both of you.
As you both made your way down the stairs, the rest of the gang appeared, jumping out from behind corners, from every direction-like they had been waiting for this exact moment.
“FINALLY!” Sunghoon yelled, throwing his hands up. “Took you two long enough!”
Sunoo smirked, crossing his arms. “I told you he’d pull this off. He’s actually not an idiot.”
Jake nodded seriously. “Riki? Actually doing something romantic? Who would’ve thought?”
Riki groaned, clearly embarrassed, but you just smiled, your hand slipping into his as you walked back down the hallway.
“You guys seriously had to follow us, huh?” you said with a playful eye roll.
Karina, Giselle, and Julie were standing nearby, all grinning like fools. “We knew this was coming,” Karina teased. “Just didn’t know it’d be so sweet.”
Julie grinned. “Honestly, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say Riki’s finally got his act together.”
And that was the moment-no big gestures needed, no speeches, just the quiet understanding that, in the end, everything had worked out. You’d both found something real, something worth celebrating.
And even though the teasing and jokes from your friends never stopped, you didn’t mind anymore. This was just the beginning of something amazing.
please comment, like, or reblog! those are highly appreciated

words:225
Goofy ahh boyfriend, Idk why but I think he'd be lowkey brain rot
he would always make fun of you every time he gets
mocks you about your height 24/7
he never fails to make you laugh
hides stuff in the upper shelves so you would need his help
pranks you all the time
once he pranked you so badly that you started crying from how badly he scared you
don't worry though he carried you to the sofa and gave you cuddles and begged you for forgiveness
complains about you stealing his stuff but secretly loves it
he thinks you look so small and cuddable (Grammarly says it's not a word but from now on it is)
sometimes he wants to bite you from cuteness aggression
he likes to pick you up spin you around and throw you on his bed
every time he hugs you he mocks you and says "Where did y/n go?" cuz you look so small around him🤏
he gets you gifts every time he sees something that reminds him of you
even though Ni-ki may not say that he loves you so much, he loves you with all his heart you're his whole world and don't need anything else.

tell my fortune
synopsis ; the story of how you manage to get an attractive waiter's number... in the most unexpected way possible.
pairing ; waiter!nishimura riki x customer!reader genre ; fluff, first encounters wc ; 1100 notes ; to indulge MYSELF, riki will be aged down in this fic. like 16 years old.
When your friend recommended a Chinese restaurant to visit, you were expecting the reason to be exceptional food. Pretty foolish of you, one reason being, you were in Korea – another being, when has Yoo Jungyeong ever suggested visiting somewhere, if not to ogle at attractive boys impossible to pull?
The first thing you notice as she holds open the door for you to step inside is the fact that it’s a pretty modern, fancy restaurant, not typical of a traditional Chinese food chain. What are you expecting though, in Korea of all places? Along the city streets, everything screams modern.
The second thing you notice when a waiter that has her making heart eyes – gross – leads you to a seat, is how young the waitresses and waiters seem. Some seem shy of eighteen, while some look like plain teenagers coming to earn a little extra pocket money during the holidays. You don’t judge them though; you’d do that too if you had the luxury of time.
Today’s an exception from having your nose stuck in piles of homework and assigned reading. After all, within the first week of the holidays you finished almost everything, so you’re free to take a break when you wish. Another reason being, you wanted to catch up with Jungyeong.
But not like this, her eyes shining as she gazes dreamily at a guy whose uniform nametag states, ‘Sim Jaeyun’.
“Will you stop staring?” You hide behind the menus to save yourself the embarrassment. “I think they’re noticing.”
“Fine,” she huffs, but the glaze over her eyes doesn’t dissipate. “He’s really cute, though.”
“Did you bring me here to have a good meal or to stare at delusion three thousand?” You snap, shoving her copy of the menu towards her. She finally rolls her eyes and flips open the menu.
She points to a steamed fish dish, “This. This is good.”
And after she recommends practically the whole menu to you, she looks at you expectantly, pressuring you into making a quick decision. You blink, because it all looks pretty appetising to you, and decide on the first fish dish she showed you. Anyway, you’re too indecisive. If you don’t pick now, you might stay the whole night.
Since Jungyeong has returned to conjuring up fantasies of the waiter Sim Jaeyun across the room, you raise your hand and grab the attention of a young waiter, who seems the same age as you. He appears nervous as he approaches you with a notepad and pen. Is this his first time working here?
“What can I get you?” He grins awkwardly, and you have to admit. He looks pretty cute trying to maintain professionalism though he looks like he’s crumbling internally. Smiling kindly, you guide him through your order as gently as you can. As you read out your order, he seems to relax progressively, nodding along.
Just as he’s about to run off to convey your order to the cooks, he bows and thanks you sincerely. For some reason, your stomach flips in excitement at this, lingering tingles in your chest as he darts off.
Nishimura Riki, read the nametag. He’s Japanese working at a Chinese restaurant in Korea.
“So,” Jungyeong waggles her finger in front of your face teasingly. “He’s cute, huh?” She drawls, obviously trying to prove her point.
You don’t buy it. “He is cute,” — you admit, and your friend raises her eyebrows — “but I’m not going to daydream about him the whole time I’m here. Unlike a certain someone…” You reach out to flick her arm amiably.
Ironically, even though you say this, as Jungyeong starts to ramble about her life recently, your line of vision inevitably travels to the back of the restaurant, where Jaeyun and Riki are chatting. They seem to be quite close, as Jaeyun pats Riki’s back and laughs. Against your will, you’re interested in the way they interact with each other. Scratch that, you’re interested in the way Riki looks when he’s smiling.
Out of the blue, the young waiter glances up and meets your gaze, just as Jungyeong starts to catch on that you’re not paying attention.
“Dude, what a hypocrite,” she scoffs, but you ignore her. Riki quirks an eyebrow at you playfully, as if asking you why you’re casually staring at him. You don’t know why but your heart skips a beat.
For the next five minutes, all you can focus on is the way your cheeks are overwhelmingly warm and probably look a fiery shade of red.
Even when your food arrives, you feel sick to your stomach and can only bear to have a few bites before clocking out. Jungyeong looks at you, half worried and half with a tilt of the head that asks, is she going crazy?
Eventually, you have to ask for a takeout container because your friend clearly can’t finish the whole dish by herself.
You just think that you need to get out of there as soon as possible, so when Riki himself runs over, handing you both a fortune cookie wrapped in plastic, it comes as a shock. His fingers linger over the snack as he passes it to you, and you swear he’s gazing into the depths of your soul.
Oooookay, this is uncomfortable. Does he want me to open it in front of his face or… is he being creepy? Or — this is where you panic — is he telling me he was also uncomfortable when I was staring at him? Should I apologise? Do I say something? What does he want from me?
Luckily for the overthinker emerging from you, he makes an unwrapping gesture and smiles silently, as if affectiona– okay, that’s too much.
You take the cracker out the wrapper, and snap it in half as quick as you can. Anything to get you out of this awkward situation.
A glance over the table shows that Jungyeong has opened hers already, and nothing seems to be out of the blue. So what is Riki trying to get at?
When you tug the slip of paper from the cracker, you don’t know if you go completely pale or grow even redder.
A phone number in black pen ink has been written over the paper in an evidently rushed manner.
You look up at the young waiter, who just shrugs and giggles at how clueless you look. How… did he… huh…?
As you leave the restaurant in a hurry (mostly because Jungyeong is borderline screaming on your behalf), you swear you catch Jaeyun giving Riki a thumbs up in the corner of your eye.

PAIRING: prince niki x lady y/n
WARNING: arranged married, bridgerton au, smut, oral (f receiving), jelaousy.
SYPNOSIS suddenly, your life had been ruined from one moment to the next. after several arguments, you were going to marry Prince Ni-ki, the queen's youngest son. how were you going to deal with this?

it’s not corrected! sorry for the spelling mistakes
tl: @firstclassjaylee
a month has passed. a month since you married ni-ki and became a member of the royal family. surprisingly, you hadn't had such a bad time, you hadn't done anything and you had a boring time on your "honeymoon".
but at least you hadn't seen your husband.
sometimes you wondered what ni-ki was doing that you didn't see, you asked the guards and maids but they didn't answer. or ni-ki was not in the palace, or he was in his quarters.
you were grateful for the space he was giving you, but talking all day with your maids was exhausting.
you looked in the mirror and saw the dress. since you had married the prince you have dresses that you had never seen, at first it was strange to see you with it, but as time passed, you had gotten used to it.
the dress was blue with a little gold around it, the shoulders were bare and a little pompous.
you left your room and went downstairs to get closer to the dining room. you came in and looked around, just as you expected, your husband was not there. you didn't know whether to be happy or sorry.
you sat down and started eating. you could dislike your new life, but you couldn't deny that you loved jewellery and food. it's something you had a hard time accepting, since you didn't want all that luxury to close your eyes, but it was inevitable that you didn't like it.
“your grace” a voice after you said. you heard how his steps were approaching you. “prince ni-ki is here?”
you smile. “i do not know where is he, but you can wait for him here”
the man shook his head nervously. "that is inappropriate, your grace"
“we are not alone, lord key. please, get him a chair” the guards listened to you and immediately did what you said.
you saw how he sat metres away from you, with discomfort.
“tell me, lord, why are you looking for my husband?” you watched him carefully. it was clearly seen that the lord was new in his title, he moved with discomfort and even stuttered.
at first you thought it was because of your invitation, but the lord seemed too young to have years with the title. you assumed he was five years older than you. it was impossible.
“it is something private, your grace”
“i understand” you said, releasing the spoon in anger. “i am very sorry if my invitation bothered you, i just feel a little lonely these days”
the man looked at you with a frown. “but the prince ni-ki?"
you sighed when you heard it. “i need to talk to more people than my husband, lord”
“but you just got married”
“does that matter?” you murmured.
you took the cutlery again and started eating. you tried to enjoy his company, but noticing how the man looked at you sideways was not very comfortable.
“your grace” said the man getting up while bowing. you squeezed the spoon hard, you didn't want to get nervous because of his presence.
“y-your grace invited me to wait for you with h-her”
“accompany him to my office” he ordered while ignoring him to take the chair that the lord was using and put it next to you.
you looked away and put it on the lord, he made several bows while he was leaving, clearly uncomfortable. you couldn't feel anything but pity.
“explain”
you stared at him and you frowned.
“excuse me?”
“why is my wife alone with a lord?”
you rested your back on the back of the chair. what was he talking about? you weren't even alone, the butlers were inside.
“you disappear for a month and the first thing you say is this?”
you saw how ni-ki rested his elbow on the table and touched his temple. you couldn’t believe what you were listening to. he had left you alone, he didn’t even show himself and the first thing he does is ask you why you were in company with someone else.
“i gave you space”
“well, thank you” you said sarcastically.
“i do not know what you want from me” he said touching his hair with anger. “you tell me that this marriage ruined your life, you say that i am a monster. i give you space so that you do not feel uncomfortable for me and the first thing i see is that you are with a man in our dining room”
“you do not understand! i felt alone this last month. you know i did not want this life, i did not want to be a princess. you knew it and the first thing you did was leave me alone. i can not go for a walk, i can not go to the park, i can not go to the dressmaker. i can not do anything i could do before! just being locked in this stupid palace”
you got up from the chair with anger. you looked at Ni-ki’s face. expressionless as always.
sometimes he asked you what was going on in his head. he showed you the worst book you could read, after this he disappeared and he appeared again to ask you the stupidest thing in the world.
yes, you knew that you couldn’t be alone with a man who is not your husband, since it could be treated as infidelity. but your marriage with the prince didn’t even exist after having ignored you for a month.
“if i was chatting with that man it was because i had no choice but to have his company so as not to feel alone” you finished leaving the dining room.
after that little discussion, the days had passed and you had never seen him again. after hearing your complaints, ni-ki disappeared again, caring little.
you didn’t even know how to feel anymore. the only one you had spent time with, ignored you with a bow while running to your husband’s office.
but you didn’t care, your older sister had visited you several times in a row, you hadn’t enjoyed her company and your nephews for a long time.
it reminded you of the old days.
“you should have a party in your palace” you watched how your sister fixed her daughter’s dress before letting her play. sometimes you wondered how you were going to have children with ni-ki. no, you wouldn’t have children with him, you were never going to do that. “your honeymoon is over”
“i know” you said touching your dress nervously. “you will help me organise it, right?”
“of course. mom can help us too”
“if mom helps us, she will choose everything in her own way”
you heard your sister’s laugh, you laughed under your breath when you heard her.
“and how is your marriage going, y/n?”
you looked at her sideways. you didn’t even know what to say.
“what do you mean?”
“your grace does treat you well? are you getting along properly?”
you made a grimace when you heard it. well, if you were honest, ni-ki had treated you better than you expected. despite having disappeared for a month, he had given you space. if it had been another man would have been worse.
“mom has told you to interrogate me?”
“i only worry about my sister”
“ni-ki treats me well. despite having been forced everything is fine between both of us”
“are you sure? the prince looks cold”
because he is cold and distant, you wanted to answer, but you kept quiet. no one should know your relationship with the prince.
“he is fine” you said to get up and get closer to your nephews.
even though you loved them, you wished your sister had never married. that everything was like the old days. that they were a girl agains.
you knew that was impossible, but if you could only come back one day you would be more than happy.
“your grace” you heard behind your back. “prince ni-ki requires your presence in his office”
you stroked your nephew’s cheek while you let out a sigh.
“you should bring me my nephews more often. i want to spend time with them” you approached your sister and hugged her “i will call you to help me”
“of course, y/n”
“please, fix the carriage for my sister and my nephews”
you looked at your sister for the last time and started walking inside the palace. you went up the stairs and saw the door of her office in the background.
you approached slowly and looked at the door nervously. what had he called you for?
you knocked on the door and opened it. you could see ni-ki with his glasses, looking at some papers.
you looked at the office and were surprised by how pretty it was. it was full of books and it was a white colour with blue flashes.
you approached ni-ki and stood in front of him. he didn’t even look up to see you enter, you tried not to roll your eyes.
“your grace”
you looked at how he fully ignored you, wrote on some papers and didn’t look up.
you decided to wait in case he had the decency to look at you and listen to you. but he didn’t.
“your grace?”
you heard how he sighed and pointed out several more things.
you closed your eyes with anger. is that why he had called you? so you’re watching him? he was a monster and a narcissist.
“ni-ki!” you shouted under your breath. when the aforementioned heard you, he looked at you instantly. you frowned when you noticed his gaze and looked down.
you closed your eyes tightly when you remembered that you were not only talking to your husband, but also to a prince. you heard the chair squeak and opened your eyes, but without looking up.
“look at me” he said posing next to you. you looked at the floor nervously.
you had never called him by his name. how could you? after all, he was your husband, you had to respect him.
“we are going to the theatre tonight” you looked at him with a frown.
“do you want to go to the theatre?” you asked confused. he nodded with nervousness. “have you ever been to a theatre?”
you saw how your husband swallowed saliva and looked away from you. you couldn’t help but smile when you saw his uncomfortable face.
“what were you doing when you were little then?”
the prince looked at you with a face that you couldn’t decipher.
“i played with my brothers” he murmured.
you smiled and you bit your lip when you heard it, you were excited to go to the theatre. when you were little, you always went to the theatre with your sisters. you loved to see how they performed, you loved to see the dancers dance ballet, you always wanted to be one of them.
your mother, seeing your enthusiasm, made it clear to you that you couldn’t be one of them, so you just settled for going every weekend to see them.
you were excited because you were going to see the prince what you felt, you wanted to share the love you had for the theatre with someone.
“i will go get ready” you turned around and started running excitedly to the exit.
ni-ki watched as you closed the door without a sound, despite your emotion. the prince didn’t know because suddenly his heart had softened when he saw your smile.
ni-ki closed his eyes as he approached the door to go to his room. you should smile more.
you squeezed your husband’s arm nervously when you saw everyone looking at you. it was the first time they appeared in public since their wedding party.
the times you went to the theatre, people casually ignored you. the only ones who talked to you were your friend or the men who wanted to ask for your hand.
but you weren’t the only one, you could hear ni-ki’s agitated breaths. despite having his expressionless face all the time, if you looked closely at him, you could see how he hid his emotions.
“your grace, we did not expect your visit tonight.”
ni-ki looked at the group of men who landed on his way. you could remember some of their faces, some of them had tried to conquer you months ago. and now you’re his princess.
“i wanted to spend time with my wife outside our palace”
suddenly, all eyes fell on you. you moved uncomfortably and smiled.
“lords.”
“you are as pretty as ever, princess y/n.” you pressed your lips with discomfort and looked at your husband, who was already looking at you. you looked away quickly and bit the inside of your lip. “it is an honour to have the princes in the theatre”
“it is a honor for us too” ni-ki replied. “with your permission”
ni-ki and you walked away from the group and went up the stairs. you felt everyone’s eyes on your back. you were definitely never going to get used to the attention.
once they arrived upstairs, they both approached the terrace and sat down. it was just a terrace for both of them. you bit your lip with nerves.
you looked down in case you saw a familiar face. you could only see lady canella with her daughter. ugh.
“are you excited, your grace?” you said turning to ni-ki. the prince looked at you strangely. “we will see one of the most prestigious works in the country”
“have you already seen it?” you shook your head.
“i never had the opportunity” you looked at the stage and you could see how the actors went up. “i can explain to you what it is about”
you smiled at the end of your sentence and looked at him. you could see a small smile on his lips and how he clenched his fist.
“please”
suddenly, they turned off several lights, almost in the dark. a warning that the play was about to begin. you made a grimace and looked at ni-ki, it was impossible to explain the play out loud, they would bother others.
you crossed your legs and looked ahead, you listened carefully to what the presenter said, who was presenting the protagonists.
you let out a choked scream when you noticed how you moved to your left. you turned around and you could see the prince a few metres from you.
you were too close. very close for your taste, but surprisingly, it didn’t make you uncomfortable, not either his closeness, nor did it bother you how the prince looked down at your lips. and it didn’t surprise you either as you did.
“your grace?” you said looking up him.
“please” your husband said, with a hoarse voice.
you held your breath when you heard it. you had never felt this way with someone, least of all with the prince, whom you hated a few days ago.
you feel weird. it was the first time you felt that, it was uncomfortable and strange.
“it is about love” you said looking away and put it on the dancers.
“about love?” you could feel his gaze sticking in your profile. you looked at him and saw that he had raised his eyebrows.
you bit your lip when you saw it. what was happening to you?
“about a poor ballerina and a rich lord” you whispered in a low voice while looking into his eyes. “the lord was going to see her every weekend. every saturday. he did not miss a single play”
“did he?”
you want to kiss him.
you had never felt that way, you felt weird and wanted to throw yourself on top of him. what was happening to you?
“yes” you let go in a sigh.
“and what happened then?” he said lowering his eyes to your lips.
“he was married.”
“did he?”
you got closer to him, leaning your head in front of his.
“can i? can i touch you?” the prince said with a sigh. you nodded and felt your husband’s hand on your thigh.
you bit your inner lip when you felt his hand under the fabric. you felt weird and uncomfortable. you just wanted to be with him, you wanted...
“ni-ki…”
“riki.” he corrected you. “please, call me riki”
you opened your eyes and you could see that he was already looking at you.
“riki…” you grabbed your husband’s hand and raised it by bringing it closer to your crotch.
suddenly, the sound of applause baffled them both. you separated from the prince and looked at the stage. the protagonist was kissing the dancer.
all that was wrong. you couldn’t do that in public, and even less with him. what was happening to you? a few weeks ago you wanted to hang him.
you swallowed saliva when you noticed his gaze and separated from him
“let’s see the play” you said fixing your dress while watching the play.
“we can not be together!” said the protagonist, moving away from the ballerina. “you are just a poor dancer and i am a lord”
you tried not to grimace yet when you felt your husband’s gaze. you felt that his soul was looking at you, trying to decipher you.
you weren’t going to bear his gaze for so long.
suddenly, you felt ni-ki get up. “i will go to the bathroom” you nodded without looking at him, staring at the work.
“please, my lord! do not you dare leave me alone! i love you”
you closed your eyes tightly when you realised that they were still in the first part of the play.
you weren’t going to be able to be with him for so long.
after an hour and a few minutes of the play, you got up quickly and walked away from your husband in a hurry. you didn’t want to see him, or talk to him. shame consumed you.
now you were in a group of women, listening to their fanciful stories while they choked you with questions about your new life.
you looked at the floor, thinking about what had happened. you had felt just as the book described it, or that’s what you thought. maybe it was a little stomach ache.
you told yourself that you were never going to do that, at least not with ni-ki.
“are you happy with the prince ni-ki, y/n?”
you looked up quickly when you heard his name. you frowned when you saw one of the ladies smile.
“with ni-ki?” you asked in a low voice. the question came to you off guard, even though you had just married him. “yes, we feel comfortable with each other. i mean, we are fine”
“do you love him?” one of them asked, holding your hand with enthusiasm.
“that is a pretty private question”
“well, at least he loves you”
you frowned when you heard it. “excuse me?”
“he has not stopped looking at you”
you looked behind your back and saw the prince staring at you, ignoring the men who were talking to him.
you looked down as you turned around and tried to ignore the women’s questions.
he loves you? did he love you just to look at you? how stupid.
you couldn’t love him and he couldn’t love you. you hated him. you hated him for making you marry him, you hated him from the first day you saw him. you hated him simply for being him.
“i must retire” you walked away from the girls and left the theatre. you went down the stairs while crossing your arms.
it was cold, but you didn’t even feel it. you were too busy thinking about ni-ki.
the scene was only repeated in your mind, what you felt, ni-ki’s voice, your forehead stuck to his, his breathing.
you felt something big covering your shoulders. you didn’t even have to realise it to know who it was.
“it is not necessary”
“please” you looked at him when you heard that word.
you swallowed saliva. “you will catch a cold”
“do not worry”
you pressed your lips while you saw two carriages in front of you.
“i will help you get up”
frunciste el ceño. “won’t you go with me?”
had the scene before made him so uncomfortable that he didn’t even want to be with you?
the prince shook his head while leaving his hand in the air for you to accept it.
“it is a protocol that all members of royalty must follow. for safety.”
you accepted his hand and sighed when you saw the carriage. you hated riding at night in the middle of the trees, and even less alone. you went up the small stairs and sat down, still not letting go of your husband’s hand.
you hated travelling alone. at night. you didn’t trust the driver, you didn’t trust anyone. what if they looted your carriage? what if the driver...?
“riki…”
ni-ki shook your hand in comfort mode.
“i will be right behind you. i promise you”
you shook your head, your eyes were watery. you didn’t want to travel alone. you couldn’t.
ni-ki put your hands on his lips, to give you a little kiss.
“can you trust me? nothing will happen to you. i will not allow it”
you nodded and he gave you a small look before letting go of your hand. you hugged your husband’s jacket more and sighed when you noticed how the carriage was already moving.
you bit the fruit with boredom while looking at the vase in the centre of the table. another day where you ate alone, another day without doing anything, another day locked in the palace.
“your grace, your nephews are on their way”
“thanks” you got up from the table and left the dining room. if you were going to be locked up all day in the palace, at least you were going to bring people to you.
you went up the stairs and approached ni-ki’s office. it had been two days since the incident happened, two days without seeing the prince.
even though you didn’t like being alone for so long, you needed it. you needed to clear your mind about that. and the conclusion you came to is that that shouldn’t happen again.
despite your feelings in between, you were forced to marry him, and from the first day you repudiated him, you should not change that.
you had to keep the formalities in front of him. you won’t let that happen again.
you knocked on the door and waited for him to accept you. seconds later, the door opened and you saw his right hand, taki.
“your grace” he said, bowing. you smiled at him and looked at your husband, he had papers scattered on the table.
“riki” you addressed him as you approached. the named one looked up and you could see that he was frowning. you tried not to smile when you saw his state. “i will do a dance next weekend. it will be the first winter dance and it will be one of the best of these last seasons”
you smiled at the thought of the dance; how luxurious it will be, how perfect, how lively. you really wanted to organise it.
when you were little, your family did many dances, but you didn’t give it importance since for you they were boring. but every time you grew up, your mother gradually let you organise it, but not completely. knowing that you had all the freedom to organise it excited you.
“it will not be such a dance”
you stopped smiling when you heard him. what did he just say?
“excuse me?”
“i am not going to allow our house to be filled with strangers. this is our privacy.”
you narrowed your eyes when you heard him. you knew that your husband had been without the eye of society all his life, but that life no longer exists. now it is prince ni-ki that everyone knows.
he can’t drag you into his life.
“i did not come to ask you if you wanted to or not, i came to inform you”
you saw how he got up from the table and approached you, but before, looking at his right hand, telling him to withdraw.
“do not make it more difficult”
you let out an ironic giggle.
“every newly married woman of high rank does a dance at her house. how do you expect i not to do it? what will people say about our marriage, then?”
“y/n-“
“i will do the dance” you said to separate yourself from him.
ni-ki was an insensitive selfish, he wasn’t going to have a woman just to have her doing nothing. you weren’t going to allow that.
your husband grabbed your hand to get closer to him. your head hit his chest, before this, you looked up and for the first time you could notice something in ni-ki’s eyes.
anger.
“i will not allow you to do a dance in our house without my permission”
“i am the lady of this house!” you screamed and hit him in the chest, thus moving him away from you.
you couldn’t do anything with him, not even go out or make decisions in your own house. this marriage was your misfortune.
“and i am your prince! you will do everything i order. i do not want any more complaints from you.”
you pressed your lips when you heard him. he was your prince and you just a subject, he didn’t even take you as a wife. you were his prisoner, you won’t have freedom unless he wants it.
this wasn’t the future you dreamed of.
you nodded and looked down.
“of course, your grace. with your permission” you bowed and left the office with tears on your cheeks.
you watched your nephews play in the garden. you wanted to play with them, but your husband had taken away all the spirit of the day.
you were a few metres from them with an umbrella covering you from the sun.
you drank tea while some tears ran down your cheeks, your ladies-in-waiting had the decency to clean them, even though you had repeatedly told them no.
“do not be sad, mylady. it is normal for newlyweds to argue.”
you sighed when you heard her. “of course it is normal to fight, which is not normal is to deprive myself of my rights as a wife”
“your grace…”
“he ignored me for a whole month, he spends days locked in his office without keeping me company, i can not go out alone without his authorisation and i can not do a dance in my own house either! that is normal for you?”
“everything will get better”
“in addition to all that, he offended me the other day” you said covering your face.
your ladies looked at each other strangely when they heard you. “what did the prince do?”
you looked at your nephews to make sure they weren’t near you. seeing that they weren’t, you approached your ladies and whispered: “he tried to kiss me in the theatre.”
the girls frowned when they heard you. “but he is your husband, mylady”
you rolled your eyes when you heard her. “i know.”
one of them squeaked and got closer to you. “i am sorry for the question, your grace. but have you ever...?” you frowned when you heard her. “have you had sex with your husband?”
you opened your eyes in surprise, you didn’t expect that question.
you looked away from them and put it on your nephews.
“no”
both made a sound of surprise when they heard you. “but you haven’t consumed your marriage! you are not really married”
you got up from the chair, tired of your ladies. “it is better this way”
you walked away from them and started running towards your nephews, you heard their laughter when you caught one of them in the air.
“are you having a good time?”
“yes! are you going to play with us?” said your nephew, matheus. you squeezed his cheek and nodded with happiness. the three of them let out a squeal of happiness and you started running after them.
you were with them for a while, if you wanted to be honest, you needed to run through the garden. you didn’t want to be a poet, but you had felt a little freer than you were, besides spending time with your nephews had loved you.
after several—long—minutes you were sitting on the floor agitated, magically your nephews wanted to play more. but you with your dress and with your little physical training you didn’t have much strength.
“please, please, please, please!” the three of them shouted in chorus in your ear.
te tocaste tu cara con cansancio, ¿cómo es que no se cansaban?
“what do you want to play?” you said, letting out a sigh.
you felt your nephews’ hands on your shoulder and took your hand off your face, you frowned when you felt how they hugged you with fear.
you tried not to curse under your breath when you felt his presence.
“your grace” you said turning around.
ni-ki was wearing a button-up shirt, and the first two unbuttoned, he had dark loose pants and his typical shoes.
you frowned when you saw it, it reminded you the first time you saw it. a person from low society.
“is he the prince?”
the aforementioned knelt down to be at his height. “I am”
“i also want to be a princess!”
you saw ni-ki laugh. for the first time.
you took your eyes off him when you heard him, his laugh was harsh and serious. like that of a man.
“you are the niece of a princess”
you looked at him with your eyes narrowed. “what good is it for me to be a princess if i can’t even make decisions”
you separated your nephews carefully and got up and cleaned your dress. you didn’t want to be near him, or listen to him, or talk to him or see him.
“play with us, pleaseee”
“to hide and seek!”
you sighed and nodded, you expected that to be a sign for your husband to leave. that you were going to be busy playing with your nephews.
“you hide” you sighed tiredly when you heard it, wasn’t I going to leave you alone?
you saw how your nephews screamed as they ran to hide.
“what are you doing? go do what you should do and leave me alone, your grace”
you saw how he made a grimace while shaking his head. “go hide”
you let out a burlesque laugh. “i will not play with you”
this time you didn’t receive an answer from him, you could only hear how he told in a low voice.
“riki!”
“you have one minute left.”
you raised your eyebrows. okay, you were going to play, but he wasn’t going to find you.
you started running in the direction of the forest, he wasn’t going to find you in there, it was big enough. technically it was impossible.
you went into it and pulled up your dress so it wouldn’t get dirty. even though it wasn’t one of your favourites, it made you mark the contortion, which you loved.
even though you wanted to beat him, you couldn’t go into the forest much. after all, you hadn’t had the opportunity to find out. you could find animals, or even men hunting. for this very reason, you decided to hide under some bushes large enough to cover yourself.
you bent down and pressed your lips while you waited.
despite the distance, you could hear the screams of your nephews. they were too obvious.
the minutes passed and you heard how your nephews were found. now ni-ki was going for you.
you covered your mouth so as not to make any more noise. you could hear his footsteps running. walking around the place, although he wasn’t near you yet.
you could hear his footsteps approaching. he was close.
you got up a little so you could look over and you saw him, turning around. you closed your eyes with anger when you realised that he was very close to you, he was going to win.
you looked up again and watched him again. He had his hands resting on his knees, clearly tired.
but you hadn’t noticed that.
his shirt was rolled up on his shoulder, thus asking to see his muscles. his arms were in shape. everything about him was in shape. drops of sweat fell from his forehead, and his black hair was wet.
you bit the inside of your lips while you saw him. you shouldn’t think that way about him, your relationship was a farce, it wasn’t even real!
you opened your eyes in surprise when you saw how he raised his head... and he was looking at you.
were you too obvious?
you didn’t have time to think, you had to remember that you were playing.
you got up and started running into the forest, you heard behind your back how he called you, however, you didn’t stop. you felt his steps behind you, as they approached. He was about to catch you. he was going to win.
suddenly, you stopped short when you saw a puddle of mud in front of you. but you didn’t have much time to think, since you felt how they grabbed your arm and cornered you to a tree.
“i won” you heard your husband’s voice in your ear. he separated more from you to see your face.
you were blushing. you knew it from his smile.
“you cheated” you said by hitting him in the chest, which is not the affection.
he let out an ironic laugh. “if you had not been looking at me, maybe you would have won”
you opened your mouth in surprise—and offended—you hadn’t been so obvious!
you shut your mouth when you realised that he had noticed. he knew you were looking at him in a not very good way.
your cheeks were more than coloured.
“i-i was not looking at you!”
“your look was nailing my soul”
you looked away from him and put her on the floor. you were embarrassed, you were a young lady! how could you look at it like that? with desire? that wasn’t typical of a lady.
ni-ki lifted your chin, forcing you to look at him.
“i want to apologize, y/n. i should not have yelled at you. you are the owner of this house and i should not have interfered in your decisions. i know i hurt your heart and i have not stopped thinking about it since then” you let out a small smile when you heard it. his eyes were crystal clear and his hand wore a fringe behind your ear. “you are my wife and my princess, i should not have disrespected you. could you please forgive me?”
you nodded and couldn’t help but hug him. you were so angry that you couldn’t empathise with him. If it was hard for you to adapt to that life, so did he.
both had completely different lives and both are trying to put the other in the life they had.
“i forgave you” you murmured in his ear. you felt your husband’s hands hugging you by the waist.
you didn’t know how much time had passed. you only liked your husband’s feeling in you, you felt good and safe.
maybe it hadn’t been so bad to marry him, right?
“but i am still a little angry” you said separating from him.
“what can i do to make that anger disappear?”
“what can you do?”
“what can i do?”
you smiled with tight lips and began to think. you looked around until you saw what was behind him. you let out a small laugh.
“throw yourself into the mud”
your husband raised his eyebrows in surprise. “do you want me to throw myself in the mud?” you nodded. “you still won’t have a grudge against that meeting, will you?”
you rolled your eyes when you heard him. “that is the only way for me not to be angry anymore”
“the only way?”
“the only way” you affirmed.
you put a hand on your husband’s chest to separate you from him and crossed your arms. you knew he wasn’t going to do it, he was a prince and he had to maintain his image. besides that you wouldn’t do it.
“only for you” he said throwing himself into the puddle. you let out a scream for what he just did and approached him.
“riki!” you shouted funny.
you laughed several times when you saw your husband full of mud. you weren’t going to lie, it gave you satisfaction to see him so dirty, you still remembered the first meeting with him.
you had to throw away your dress. your favourite dress.
“are you still angry, wife?”
“mmmm, not so much anymore”
you watched him get up from the mud and looked at you mockingly.
“do not you want to give me a hug?”
you frowned and denied as he approached you.
“do not come near”
“pleasee”
you started running when you saw how he almost hugged you. you laughed when you heard Ni-ki’s pleas.
you had to be honest, being married to the prince was not as bad as you thought. he had taken care of being more open with you, thus having breakfast every day and spending every afternoon together.
he has been trying not to make you feel so alone in your new life, and you thanked him. you also understood those days when you didn’t even see him.
your feelings towards him had also blossomed, it took you weeks to understand it, but you had finally accepted it. and you could realise that you were not the only one, seeing how ni-ki looked down at your lips when you spoke, how he looked at you when you were distracted, and how he tried to give you everything you asked him made you understand that you were not the only one in this.
despite that, you had never kissed him, and you were dying to do it. You had to admit it, you were afraid. afraid of what happened after the kisses. according to that book you had sex with him.
and you didn’t see yourself doing that, not yet.
you were afraid that ni-ki wouldn’t understand, you were afraid that he would force you, or that he would look for someone else to give him what you didn’t give him.
you rolled your eyes when you heard riki. “you are doing it wrong”
“i am not doing it wrong!”
you were both sitting on the sidewalk in front of the piano. your husband was trying to teach you one of his favourite songs played by the piano. you weren’t bad with this instrument, but his favourite song seemed like the most difficult thing in the world.
“you touched the LA and it was SOL”
“it is impossible”
“we can try again tomorrow”
you nodded and got up from the sidewalk. “today the decorators will come”
“do not you want me to help you?”
“my sister will help me, do not worry” you separated from him and touched his shoulder amicably. “today we have dinner at my mother’s house, please get ready early. my mother is very punctual”
your husband smiled in response and you left the room.
hours later, you met the decorators telling them your ideas about the dance. the theme was going to be winter, all the guests had to go in blue costumes.
“it is a great idea, your grace”
“thank you, sir”
the gentleman told your idea to his workers and ordered them to bring the material to decorate it.
“we must talk to the prince about the cost, your grace”
“of course, wait a moment, please, let me bring him”
you walked away from the main living room and went up the stairs to get closer to his kitchen. you were so excited! your first dance organised by you, will be the best of the season.
“it is so difficult, your grace” you heard a female voice. you frowned when you heard it.
they were not the voices of your escort ladies, nor of any of the workers. you approached their office and you could see that the door was open.
you hide behind the wall and you poked your head out. ni-ki was with a woman. you tried not to be alarmed when you heard her sobs.
“don’t cry” your husband said approaching her. “it will pass” he said to hug her. you covered your mouth in surprise.
ni-ki was hugging you to another woman, he was cheating on you? being alone with a woman, hugging her? they already knew each other before, that is, why would he hug her?
if they already knew each other, why did he marry you if he had someone else? why did he try to make you fall in love all this time? so those days that you didn’t see him, was he with this woman? you closed your eyes when you imagined it, your tears ran down your cheeks while you tried not to sob.
your fear had become real.
“you look beautiful, my sweetie!” your mother shouted while hugging you. you didn’t smile at her compliment or hug her back.
she was to blame for all this, if she had never accepted that marriage you would never have married riki.
after learning about your husband’s infidelity, you had gone down the stairs and tried to organise everything perfectly, but the tears on your cheek betrayed you.
the gentleman, seeing this, immediately left to let you rest. clearly that was notified to your husband and he tried to enter your room. but you ignored him.
“thanks, mom” you said separating from her and hugging your father, followed by this, you hugged your little sister and they both approached the living room.
“i have missed you. mom won’t let me go to the palace, she always says that you are very busy, that your property is to give birth to princes”
you rolled your eyes when you listened to your sister. blessed be the day your mother stopped talking so much.
“do not pay attention to mom. after the dance you can come as many times as you want”
you heard behind you the fun—boring—conversation that your father and your husband had. you turned to look at them and you could see that your husband was already doing it. you couldn’t help but hold your breath. damn the day you fell in love with him.
you looked away from him quickly and watched as your mother approached you.
“how is your married life, daughter?”
“it is okey, mom”
“really?”
you frowned when you heard her. “why you ask?”
you saw your mother’s nervous smile and felt how your mother touched your belly.
“do you think you will be on tape soon?”
“mama!”
“i am just worry for you, darling” she said caressing your cheek. “it is fundamental in a relationship”
you smiled ironically when you heard her. how dare she talk about that when dhe didn’t even give you an explanation of what sex was?
“do not worry, mom”
“fine” she said separating from you. “let’s come to the table”
you sighed when you heard her and sat at the table, next to your husband and in front of your mother and sister.
you had no appetite, you didn’t want to be there, you just wanted to be in your bed. that’s how the heartbreak felt that the love novels talked about so much? not wanting to do anything.
how could he do this to you? how could he fool you? betray you?
you were right from the beginning, he was a monster, a heartless one. but you decided to ignore those warnings and end up falling in love with him.
your eyes were already watery thinking about that. you wanted to disappear.
“do you feel good?” you heard in your right ear.
you gritted your teeth when you heard him, how can he act like nothing? you ignored him and walked away from him. you looked at your father grimacing.
“i do not feel well, i will lie down a little on my bed” you got up from the table without waiting for an answer from her.
as you entered your room, you slammed the door and let out a sob. how could he betray you? how could he do this to you? you couldn’t live in that marriage, you didn’t want to be with him knowing that he loved someone else.
why…?
the door was abruptly opened, and you quickly wiped the tears from your cheeks.
“are you okay, y/n?”
you let out a sob when you heard him and separated abruptly when you felt his arm on your shoulder. you couldn’t formulate any words. you felt stupid, useless, stupid for having believed in him.
“why did you have to do this to me?” you said turning around. your husband had a sad and confused face when he saw you. “i believed in your dirty words, i believed in your actions, i believed in you!”
“y/n, i do not understand you. please, calm down”
“i saw you with another woman! i saw how you hugged her and comforted her. you had another woman all this time, right? that’s why you disappeared so much. because of her.” 6our husband frowned at seeing you so disconsolate. “why did you do all that for me then? why did you try to make me fall in love? why did you do so much for me?” you let out a sob while you took a few little turns. “i will not live in a marriage where the man i love has another woman. i want to divo-“
“my heart belongs to you, y/n. my breaths, my mind, i belong to you” he said approaching you, this time he too with soaked cheeks. “how could i deceive the woman i think about every morning, every afternoon, every night, throughout the day? how could i deceive the woman who captivated me with her look? how could i deceive the woman who makes me get up every day?” he took you by the cheeks and began to wipe your tears. “i am yours. i have always been from the first day we saw each other, until our last breath. i could never deceive the woman of my life. i am yours”
you looked at his eyes full of tears as you raised your hand to caress his cheek with affection.
“i love you, riki” you murmured.
ni-ki smiled.
“you are the reason for my existence, y/n”
ni-ki brought his lips to your cheeks, kissing your shed tears. you closed your eyes when you felt his lips in contact with your skin. little by little his lips approached yours, until they met.
the kiss was slow and passionate, even though you didn’t know how to kiss, ni-ki guided you, thus avoiding feeling uncomfortable. ni-ki grabbed your waist to get closer to him, to sabotage you more, to feel more by his side. the same thing you felt the other day at the theatre, you began to feel it at that very moment. you wanted it.
you separated from him when you noticed how things were going out of control and you stuck your forehead to his. “i am not ready, i am sorry, riki”
ni-ki smiled when he heard you and stroked your cheek. “i will never pressure you, take your time.”
he himself grabbed your hand and separated from you to guide your bed, stuck his back on the headboard and grabbed your waist so that you could sit on his lap.
“so, do you love me?” he said with a mocking tone.
you rolled your eyes when you heard it and gave him a small blow on his chest.
“you are mine, riki. you even said it yourself.”
“you are right”
you smiled and gave him a little kiss. “i am yours too”
he raised his hand to caress your cheek. “you are mine”
you bit your lip and looked down. “i do not want you to see her again.”
your husband let out a small laugh when he heard you. “you have nothing to worry about”
“likewise”
“trust me. you are the only woman in my life.”
you smiled and approached him to kiss him.
and so they spent the whole night, kissing in your room at your parents’ house.
“how do i look?” you said entering your husband’s office.
you had a white dress, contrary to the dance theme, which were blue outfits. you had a white and pompous dress with blue arrangements around it, while at the top you had a small tight white jacket.
ni-ki looked up and smiled when he saw you. He separated from the table and raised his hands, indicating why you were approaching him. you sat on your lap and gave him a little kiss.
“you are beautiful, my wife”
“do i?” you asked funny, even though you already knew his answer.
“yes”
you bit your lip when you heard him. you were so in love with him, who was going to say that? a few weeks ago you promised that you would never be with him, and now you were sitting on his lap.
“you must prepare yourself. the guests will arrive soon”
“no, you must do it now. clear your mind of those papers, they will not move from here, i assure you.”
“whatever my wife says” you rolled your eyes when you heard it and he lifted you from his lap and they both started walking towards the exit.
“i will wait for you downstairs”
you smiled at her for the last time and went downstairs to see your sister do the final touches. you called her and her face lit up when she saw you.
“it will be the most beautiful dance of the winter season”
“i hope so”
your sister grabbed your hands and looked at you sadly. “i can not believe that my little sister has already become an adult. do you still remember when we slept together?”
you rolled your eyes when you remembered it, as if to forget. you slept with her practically half of your life.
“at least i did not hear your snoring anymore.”
you got hit by your sister. “i am being serious!”
you smiled when you heard her. “maybe we can have a sleepover in the future. with nira this time.”
“yes, we can.”
after the little chat with your sister, they both checked if everything was perfect. and it was.
you saw how your husband went down the stairs and you approached him. ni-ki, like the hunk he is, gave you a kiss on your hand in front of your sister, which made you blush and separate from him.
they opened the doors when they heard the sound of several horses in the distance. you and ni-ki stood at the entrance, greeting the guests. familiar faces—your friends—unknown faces and nasty faces—lady canella and her daughter—that you would rather have avoided seeing. after greeting the guests, the musicians started dancing and there were people dancing on the dance floor and people in the corners.
you looked around, everyone seemed to be satisfied with the dance. the decoration had been fantastic and people seemed to be having fun.
“do you want to dance with me?”
you smiled when you heard him and grabbed his hand while he took you to the centre of the room. both began to dance a slow music, a music familiar to your ears.
“it is the favourite song of the queen”
“i know”
both danced as if they were one, thus attracting people’s attention.
“the last time we danced together you told me you did not want to marry me” you let out a low laugh. “do you regret marrying me?”
“the first month, yes. the second month not so much”
“that day you asked me why I did not cancel the wedding even though i had the power to do it” riki gave you a look and you frowned when you heard him. why did he tell you now? “since i saw you in the park, I fell in love with you. i knew you did not want to marry me, i was selfish in forcing you. but i do not regret it. i told you that day, i have been yours since the first time i saw you.”
those words would have bothered you a month ago, maybe they bother you a little. you would have liked to meet riki in other circumstances, but despite having been forced to marry him. you didn’t regret it. you would have chosen this path many times if that would mean meeting him.
“i do not regret marrying you anymore, riki. that is because it was you i married. i would choose this path millions of times if it is with you”
the music stopped and riki raised his hand to your cheek, caressing it. you smiled even though you were surrounded by people who were looking at you. you didn’t care anymore.
“i love you”
you rolled your eyes while you separated from him playfully. “do not make me blush in front of everyone!”
“your grace” they said behind yours, you turned around and could see your husband’s right hand. “we need to talk with you”
“is it important? i am with my wife right now”
“yes, your grace”
ni-ki turned to you and took your hand to give you a kiss. “i will not be long”
you smiled as you watched as she left and looked around in case you saw someone you knew other than your family. you saw your friend in the distance with a group of women, you approached and your friend’s face smiled when she saw you.
“y/n! i saw you dancing with the prince ni-ki.”
“you are so in love!”
you smiled when you heard her and thanked her. you heard a carraspeo on your left and you saw lady canella’s daughter.
“i am going to marry”
you raised your eyebrows in curiosity. “really?”
“with the duke.”
hou smiled half-heartedly when you heard her, the duke was forty years old while she was barely nineteen, you knew she was being forced. even though you didn’t like her, you knew what it was like to be forced to marry a man you didn’t know.
but you knew what she was like, even though she was being forced, she and her family only cared about the title.
“congratulations,” you murmured.
“not everyone can marry someone with a high-ranking degree, only women like me and y/n understand it.”
you avoided rolling your eyes for the safe of your public image. “what is the use of the title if you do not love the person? we live for love, it doesn’t matter if it is a lord or a duke”
“you say it because you are married with a prince”
“i say it because i know how it feels to marry someone you do not love. fortunately, i was lucky enough to start loving him over time”
you heard the snort of lady canella’s daughter that you decided to ignore. you weren’t going to argue with someone who didn’t care what love is and how it felt.
you disconnected from the conversation when you heard how they talked about handsome lords and dukes of the dance.
your husband was taking a long time, wasn’t he? were they family problems? or something very, very important had occurred to him.
“your grace” said a guard next to you. you looked at him expectantly. “lady whistledown has published in the newspaper right now.”
“lady whistledown?!” you listened to the girls and saw how they took the role. you tried not to curse in a low voice when you saw how that lady had ruined your night.
dear reader
this week has been a little catastrophic if we take into account that this week the long-awaited dance of the new princess y/n is celebrated. birds tell that lady cowl has been insulted in the trail by lady canella for trying to steal her daughter’s dress. my hands automatically write the surname canella, since every week there is always something new from them.
in addition, speaking of the king of rome, we learned that her daughter married the Duke of karingston, a widowed lord who lost his wife ten years ago. will lady anabella be lucky to conquer the heart of this poor man?
and as i have always said, the best is always for the end. Inner birds of prince ni-ki’s palace tell us that the prince and the new princess have not consumed their marriage. it has been three and a half months since their wedding and they have not yet slept together. if we make theory, maybe the princess y/n is in love with another man, since as we all know, she never wanted to marry the prince. or maybe because prince ni-ki really is a monster as they say? we will never know, but what we will be able to know is that soon we will not have a child from them.
you were shaking, what did you just read? how did they get that information?
why just the day you were most looking forward to?
you looked up and could see the group of women looking at you with surprise. you looked around and all eyes were on you. you heard murmurs, insults, even looks of disappointment.
“this is not real! how you can believed that?” you heard your mother scream. however, no one listened to her, no one was paying attention to her, only to you.
they were judging you.
you turned around and began to change to the stairs, you had to tell ni-ki.
“what a disappointment” you heard behind your back.
you went up the stairs quickly and approached your husband’s office, you didn’t even touch, you opened no matter who was inside.
you should have touched.
he was with the woman the other day, at a more considerate distance than the other day. You closed your eyes in anger.
“i need to talk to my husband.” you said approaching him.
“you can leave” the girl bowed and left the office.
“i thought i had told you that i didn’t want you to talk to her anymore”
“you do not understand, love”
“i do not understand, riki? that one of the best nights for me, is my husband in his office with another woman? tell me that i do not understand, then”
“y/n”
“what would you do if you saw me with lord key alone in a room, riki? what would you do if you saw me hugging him?” you let out an ironic laugh and separated from him, but he pulled your arm and kissed your lips.
this was a different kiss from the other day, it was wild and possessive, as if you were going to fade away.
“you are mine, y/n” he said between the kiss. “just mine. only mine”
he grabbed you by the waist and put you on the table, separated from your lips and began to kiss your neck. despite the shame, you couldn’t help but let out a moan.
“are you feel ready?”
you felt quickly and kissed him again. “i want you, riki.”
he lifted your dress and raised his hand through your crotch, touching your private part. he took off your underwear and touched your inside with his finger.
“you are so perfect for me”
riki put two of your fingers penetrating you with these. you closed your eyes with satisfaction and you bit your lips.
your hair was dishevelled and you assured that your face was destroyed, but it didn’t matter anymore.
“riki!”
riki shut you up with a kiss, however, he didn’t stop playing with his fingers.
“they are going to listen to you, do you want them to listen that?” you rested your head on his shoulder. “i am the only privileged one who can listen to you. you are mine, y/n”
“y-yes”
“tell me. tell me that you are mine”
you let out a moan when you noticed how riki increased the speed, you weren’t even able to formulate a word.
“tell me, y/n”
“i am yours. i will always be yours”
“and i will always be yours. my only woman.”
“i am cumming!” you screamed under your breath and your boyfriend stared at you, wanting to see your face to this new sensation. you screamed as you came and you rested your forehead on your husband’s forehead while breathing agitated.
riki raised his two fingers full of you and forced you to suck it, you did it while you stared at him and he repeated the same as you.
you grabbed him by the hair forcing him to kiss you and he began to take off his pants, desperate.
ni-ki had wanted so much to be at that moment, he had imagined it so much, that having you as he wanted so much in those last three months drove him crazy. he couldn’t even wait.
you look his dick and you looked him in the eyes again.
“are you ready, love?”
you nodded “yes, riki”
ni-ki entered his member slowly and threw his head back when he noticed your closed walls. instead, you closed your eyes when you felt that new feeling in you. it was strange and uncomfortable.
riki looked at you again and stroked your cheek. “tell me when i can move”
“do it”
riki began to move slowly, so you got used to his size and little by little you stopped feeling uncomfortable to the point of satisfaction.
your husband, seeing how your face began to change, began to accelerate his movements. to the point that you could only hear your bodies moving and the table about to break.
your moans were getting louder, to the point that ni-ki wasn’t sure if you were already listening to each other, for this very reason, he began to kiss you, shutting you up.
“riki…”
“be quiet”
“i am going to cum” you whispered in his ear.
“can i- can i cum inside you?” your husband asked. you nodded quickly and seconds later they both let out a small scream as they came.
riki took your every in his hands and kissed your nose. “do you feel good?”
your husband came out of your interior and helped you get off the table, fixing your dress and your hair, the best he could.
when you finished getting ready for you and your husband, you approached him and gave him a little kiss.
“we have a problem” you said remembering what had happened minutes ago. your husband raised his eyebrows and grabbed you by the waist “lady whistledown. she talkedabout us, about our situation before today.”
“i do not understand”
“they said that we had not consumed marriage. they said it was because you were a monster or because i loved another man”
ni-ki smiled half-heartedly when he heard you. “that is nonsense”
you sighed when you heard him and rested your head on his chest. “i know, but people started looking at me badly. they began to judge me, i don’t know what they said about me, but i can imagine it. it was so uncomfortable. i thought about asking you for help but i forgot you know why.”
ni-ki separated from you and took your hand to leave the office. both went down the stairs and could see the crowd of people looking at them, you noticed their look.
but only towards you.
se quedaron en medio de la escalera y tu esposo te agarró más fuerte de la mano.
“i will not allow any disrespect towards my wife, i will not allow her to be slandered that way in the newspaper. i love my wife and my wife loves me. if some of you believe what that lady said, i invite you to retire. the dance is over.” ni-ki finished to go back up the stairs.
after the dance and that event, you were stroking your husband’s hair while they were both silent.
“do you think they will talk a lot about us?” you said in the middle of a speech.
“they will talk, but the only difference is that you continue to be a princess and they will be your subjects”
rodaste los ojos y tu esposo se levantó de tu regazo para ponerse al lado tuyo, ambos mirando a la nada.
“about the woman of before, y/n. i would never fall in love with her because she is a sister to me” you nodded not very sure of his explanation.
“and how do I know she is not interested in you?”
“because she is no like you” you frowned when you heard it and looked at him. “she do not like boys.”
“what do you mean?”
“she likes girls. all these meetings and paperwork is an option to eliminate the punishment for women over being with other women. since we can not legalise same-sex marriage, i want to remove as much punishments as possible from this. so that she can be with her girlfriend freely.”
did you grimace when you heard him, being with someone of the same sex? it was weird; you had never heard it.
vut you couldn’t admit that it was impressive that riki was doing all that for a friend of his. even though you didn’t understand much, you were relieved that she wasn’t interested in him.
“But i will take these months off”
“why?”
niki looked at you and smiled. “i want us both to travel. i want us to have our moon of the same dream.”
you opened your mouth in surprise. “are you joking?”
“no, my love”
you screamed excitedly and climbed on his lap to kiss him all over his face. “oh my god, riki. i love you so much.”
ni-ki smiled when he heard you. “i love you more.”

A frigid wind nipped at your exposed skin as your smooth, pristine hand clutched the dense material hugging your figure, tightening it as you shivered against the chill.
Positioned just beside you, another figure came into view—a guy, it seemed, seated on the bench you were hunched over, his posture mirroring your own.
The two of you sat there side by side as silence drifted in, dancing freely in the wintry atmosphere, wrapping you both in a sense of comfort and serenity. But just before it could last any longer, a voice broke through, cutting the calmness that said,
"Hey, can I tell you something? But you must promise not to laugh."
Turning your gaze over him, you replied with a teasing smile, "Okay, I promise! but if it's about last year where you fell into the river bank while singing 'Crystal Snow' and pulling off some silly, majestic move, I'm definitely laughing." You beamed at him, eyes naturally curving into a pair of beautiful crescent moons that perfectly enhanced your delicate features.
Riki appeared a bit stunned as he stared at you for a not so long while, a soft pinkish tint bloomed across his cheeks. Perhaps embarrassed that his past actions being brought up? Lucky him, you seemed completely unaware of the sudden change in his demeanor, already adding another playful remark, saying,
"Or… when i caught you sneaking into my bedroom, secretly putting my makeup all over your face and—oh! Maybe that other time when—
"Okay, okay, enough with talking about my dark, embarrassing, yet utterly unforgettable moments that had been long forgotten, but now they’re all flooding back into our memories—and it’s all because of you."
Riki responded, giving you that signature eye smile of his, the one that said, 'Thank you for that,' but beneath it, you could almost sense the quiet storm brewing inside him, making you burst into a soft, cheerful laugh, seemingly satisfied.
Riki groaned, his long, slender fingers working as a comb, running through his smooth, silky locks, muttering, "See? this is why i shouldn't tell you anything serious." He pouted, cute, you thought.
Fixing your gaze on him, you ended up admiring his ethereal features from the side: the sharp, defined slope of his nose, so precise it seemed as though it could cut through the thickest air; his fierce, brown eyes that always gave you a sense of déjà vu, a reminder of that one time he stood out for you—scolding the bullies who tore your favorite doll. And then, there were his wide, soft lips—pillowy enough that you were sure you’d turn into Aurora herself, falling into an eternal slumber the moment your head rested upon them.
For a moment, you found yourself lost in those details—every line, every curve—until his voice pulled you back to reality. "Do you remember last winter, when we had that snowball fight?" he asked, sitting up straighter to face you fully. A faint smile tugged at his lips, though his tone carried a trace of guilt. "And then I accidentally threw that giant snowball, and you fell right into the snowbank," he added, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
You nodded, a smile spreading across your face at the memory. "How could I forget? That same night, I came down with a bad fever, had a red, runny nose, and I almost didn't recognize myself with how much of a complete mess I looked," you said, softly laughing at yourself. "Honestly, it’s my fault for letting you throw it at me first instead of getting you back right away."
He looked at you, his brows furrowing as worry spread across his face, his voice trembling as he began, 'No, it wasn’t your fault—it was mine! I failed to protect you, and instead, I was the one who hurt you. Do you know how much I hated myself for that? I hate that it was me who made you sick, hate that I couldn’t be the one to keep you safe when you needed it the most, and if things had gone worse—if fate had been cruel—I could’ve lost you that day! Do you realize how terrifying that is? Losing you, even just the thought of it, it’s unbearable, because you mean so much to me—more than you know—and I can’t stand thinking about a world without you, because I…'
He froze, his breath puffing in uneven clouds, realizing too late what had slipped out. 'I love you,' he whispered, the words barely audible, but they hung in the cold air between you, undeniable and raw.
Riki kept his gaze fixed downward, his breath uneven as he replayed his words in his head, wondering if he’d said too much. The silence that followed was deafening, the absence of your usual teasing remark or laughter gnawing at his nerves. Slowly, he glanced to his side, only to find you wiping at your cheeks with the edge of your sleeve, quiet sobs muffled as you tried—and failed—to keep your emotions in check.
His eyes widened in alarm. “y/n, why—” but the moment his voice reached you, your head shot up, your teary eyes locking with his. Embarrassment consumed you in an instant, a wave of heat rushing to your cheeks and before he could say another word, you moved in a blur, throwing your arms around his neck and pulling him into a tight embrace. The sudden warmth of your hold left him frozen for a moment, his breath hitching at the unexpected gesture.
“You idiot,” you choked out softly, your voice trembling but laced with so much affection it made his chest tighten. “You didn’t lose me then, and you’re never going to. Do you hear me? Never.”
Riki's arms slowly wrapped around you, tentative at first, before tightening it as if he were afraid of losing you. “I—” His voice cracked, his usual confidence nowhere to be found. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you cry…”
You pulled back just enough to look at him, your tear-streaked face breaking into a watery smile. “Don’t apologize, you idiot. I’m crying because…" you paused, but just enough to gather up the courage you needed to say,
"Because I love you too.”

니키 - Empty classroom’s -> N.KI
Synopsis -> Sex, sex in school bathroom, Jelousy, over 18! Sex without protection, daddy kink, dirty talk.
Paring -> BadBoyBf!Niki x SoftieGfFem!Reader
Synopsis -> He’s jealous of another boy talking to his girl.
You were talking to one of your male classmates, Leehan, you guys were talking about the project that your science teacher set that was due in two weeks.
It was about doing some research and writing an essay. Lucky for you, you got a nerd to work with so it would be more easier.
As you were talking, you felt a tap on your shoulder as you turned you saw that it was your boyfriend, Niki. Niki was a bad-boy, well that what people call him as he’s either in trouble or causing fights with someone.
He glared at Leehan then at you, “Why are you talking to him..?” He asks the obvious jealousy shown on his face.
You looked him in the eyes, “We were just talking about a science project we have to do..” you said, trying to explain to him why you were talking and walking with leehan in the first place.
He took your hand and pulled you behind him. He then looked at leehan.. “I don’t want to see you ever talk to my girlfriend again.. you hear me..?”
Leehan pushed up his glasses, “Well then how are me and Y/n supposed to get the project done..?”
“I don’t know and I don’t care..” Niki said rolling his eyes and walking off, dragging you into an empty classroom.
You gulped, you knew how niki could get when he was being jealous.
He pinned you against the wall as he stared into your eyes, “You got anything to say about what happened back there..?” He asked, gritting his teeth.
You spoke up, “W-well I—” but before you could finish, Niki kissed you.
You hummed into the kiss, you felt as his tongue entered your mouth and started to explode it. Which made you whimper and go weak in the knees.
The kiss broke as you pulled back for air, gasping as you feel his lips kissing your neck.
He left wet kisses before stopping and giving you a Hickey on the right side on your neck. “Ah.. N-niki w-wait..!” You tired to stop him, but it was too late.
He already was gonna mark you, showing everyone that you’re his and only his.
You let out a whimper, your neck leaning back to give him more space. You had your eyes closed as you tried to concentrate on the pleasure he was giving you.
He groaned, moving his head from your neck to look down at you. As you guys locked eyes he moved his hands to your sides. “You mine and only mine.. got that sweetie?”
He gripped your waist causing you to whimper. He leaned back in and kissed you, you wrapped your arms around his neck as he moved one on his hands between your legs.
Causing you to let out a small moan, “Hmm you like that, huh?” He chuckled as he continued to rub up and down your wet folds through your underwear.
He continued to rub your cunt as he whispered dirty talk into your ears, “Hmm just getting all worked up over my fingers baby..”
You felt as his fingers started to pump in and out of your cunt, “Hmm my baby’s hole is tight.. no matter how much times I fuck you..huh..? I wonder if you really take me..”
“H-hmpf.. fuck.. niki..” you moaned as he chuckled as you state before pulling away his hand from inside you.
“Nuh huh, we’re not done yet..” he turned you around and held your hips, “I know you can take it..” You look behind you to see him unzipping his jeans and pulling out his huge girthy dick.
You gulped, well you’ve taken him funny before but he was always big. He then lifted your skirt and moved your panties to the side, he then rubbed his tip all over your folds to gather all your slick to use as lube.
You whined, “Impatient are we now?..” he stopped the teasing and he alined the tip of his cock to your hole.
“Hmm now gonna get what you want princess..” he mumbled as he slowly pushed inside you.
“A-ah fuck..” Your brows frowned as you had your mouth in an ‘o’ shape.
He started pounding into your tight little cunt as you whimpered about it ‘being too big’ and that ‘Its making you feel so full’.
He pulled up your top and let your tits hang out as her massaged them and praised them for how ‘they perfectly fitted his hands’ and that he ‘loved your perky pink breasts’.
He grunted, “hmm so you like that? Huh? You like my big fucking cock pounding deep into your tight little pussy eh?” He muttered as he continued to thrust into you.
“..yes..ahmm..”
“Yes.. who?” He took your arms and held them behind your back as he pounded into you.
“Ye.. yes.. daddy..” You whimpered as you felt yourself coming closer and closer to the edge.
“Haa.. fuck.. who’s pussy does this belong to?...” her groaned as he picked up his pace.
“All.. ah hunggg Yours..daddy haa all yours~” you couldn’t even think straight. All that could be heard was your moans and his grunts.
“I-im.. hmpff close d-.. daddy..” you whimpered as you started to clench around him.
“Hmm cum for me baby… I’m close too.. daddy’s close...” His thrusts came sloppy indicating that he was close to cuming as well as you are.
After a few more thrusts you felt his seed fill you up, “Oh shit i’m cumin, I’m cumin..” He grunted as he held you close.
“Oh.. niki.. i’n f-fxck..” You also came all over his cock, so as he pulled out of you. Your and his cum dripped out of your aching hole as you held onto the wall for support.
He pulled your underwear back then let down your skirt, he pulled back your shirt down and fixed you up. As if he didn’t just take you here in one of the empty classrooms.
He then tucked away his cock before zipping back up his trousers and putting back on his belt.
Niki then kissed your cheek before walking out and leaving you there in the empty classroom all by yourself.
Your legs shaking and now you fulled with his cum.

Being the president of the student council means everyone has high expectations of you. It also means that you’re constantly under pressure, having to deal with many events. Currently, you are preparing for the upcoming prom that will be held in four months time. Thankfully, your fellow club members were generous enough to lend a helping hand. You were grateful for their support, making a mental note to treat them bubble tea once the prom was over.
“...And that’s it for today. Does anyone have any questions?” You asked, turning to face the audience but everyone shook their heads, you nodded.
“Alright, then you can go. Enjoy your weekend!” You bid them farewell, staying behind as you packed your things, switching off the projector while waiting for your laptop to shut down.
“I knew I’d find you here.”
You sighed, not bothering to raise your head at the familiar smug voice interrupting the silence. “Why are you here, Riki?”
“I’m here to bless my girlfriend with my presence. What else would I be here for?” He replied, acting innocent despite how he had already locked the door behind him, approaching you with intent.
This time, you raised your head, ready to reprimand him, only for you to yelp when Riki easily pinned you against the desk, pushing the stack of papers aside, moving them dangerously close to the edge. Your breath hitched in your throat when he leaned in, engulfing your senses in his cologne—woody and citrus. His eyes darkened, flickering down to your parted lips and he took the leap of faith, sliding your lips together. You wasted no time in returning the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck as Riki made you sit on the desk.
You parted your legs, allowing him to situate himself between them. An involuntary shiver ran down your spine when you felt his hand trailing up your thighs, snaking its way underneath your knee-length skirt. Your legs instinctively shut when Riki teasingly dragged his hand across your soaked panties, locking his hand in place.
“Riki, not here,” you whimpered, allowing him to spread you apart as you were being pushed back until you were laying on the desk.
“Shh, it’s fine. No one’s around anymore. It’s just you and me but try to be quiet,” he hushed you, flipping your skirt up, revealing your cute white lacy panties. His eyes were fixated on how the thin fabric was soaked with your arousal, the sight sending heat straight down to his cock.
“Look at you, you’re soaking wet. Did it turn you on that you’re doing this in the council room?” He grins, pulling down your panties and tossed it to the ground, not caring where it landed.
“Riki, please!” You pleaded, slightly raising your head to look at him, giving him your best puppy eyes.
“Fuck, you’ve no idea what you do to me, princess,” he cursed, wasting no time in diving in, as if he had been starved for a month.
You barely remembered to muffle the moans that crawled its way up to your throat, slapping a hand over your mouth. Riki was ruthless and it shows in the way he eats you out. He parted your puffy lips apart with his fingers, slipping a finger in and his tongue at the same time. Your back arched off the desk at the long and slow glide of the wet muscle. The first time you’ve done this, Riki was awkward and shy but as time went on, he soon learnt what he can do to make you fall apart, reducing you to a whimpering and moaning mess.
He glanced up, only to pause his ministrations when he saw how you were holding back your noises. Riki moved away, eliciting a shaky whine of protest from you.
“Riki, why?” You sniffled, frustrated tears pricking your eyes, blurring your vision.
“Aw, does my sweet angel want to come?” He coos in a faux sweet tone. The desire to see you cry grew stronger and stronger.
“P-Please,” you pleaded, making grabby hands at him with your lips curling down in a pout, trying to make yourself as appealing as possible to your boyfriend.
Riki smirks, leaning down again to kiss your clit, savoring the way you bucked your hips; craving for more. “Of course, who am I to deny you, princess?”
He didn’t wait for your response, now full-on attacking your poor cunt with short and quick flicks of his tongue. This time, he added another finger, easily sliding in until he was knuckles deep. Riki skillfully angled his long, thick fingers, brushing them against the spot that made you see stars exploding in your vision.
“Oh god, R-Riki, I’m gonna—!” You panted, feeling the familiar ache between your thighs and how your muscles tightened. Riki merely hums; the vibration is enough to tip you over the edge. Your eyes rolled back and your boyfriend eagerly drank in what you had to offer, not wanting to waste a single drop.
You calmed down after reaching your climax, panting heavily to catch your breath. You were only granted three seconds of temporary peace before your ears registered the sound of Riki pulling down his pants. You squeaked when he pushed your legs up onto his shoulders.
“W-Wait—” You protested, only for the words to die in your throat when he stuffed you full of his cock, splitting you open for him. Your insides were practically rearranged and made to take him with no difficulty.
“You’re still so tight even after I prep you,” he groans, already sounding ragged and out of breath. Riki leans down, one hand grabbing your chin so he could crush his lips against yours in a messy and filthy kiss, allowing you to taste yourself.
You were struggling to keep up with him, feeling the breath getting knocked out of your lungs when he started moving, hips snapping against yours at a frantic pace. If you were in the comfort and privacy of your home, Riki would love to take his time with you but since you were in a public setting, he had to be quick. His lips eagerly swallowed your angelic sounds. Breaking the kiss, he moved down your neck, clumsily pulling down your blouse to leave hickeys on your unblemished skin.
“S-So good, ngh! M-More,” you groaned, unable to get enough of the delirious sensation of his cock sliding in and out, hitting the deepest parts of your cervix.
“Yeah? You like that, princess? How would everyone think if they were to see you like this? Drunk on a bad boy’s cock, like the cockslut you are,” he sneers, his degrading words making you mewled.
“Maybe I should fuck you in front of everyone and show them your true self,” he continues, voice lowering an octave with the right amount of raspiness, enough to drive you crazy.
“Riki, hah, don’t stop,” you moaned, getting drunk on the intoxicating feeling.
You faintly heard him cursed under his breath and he quickened his pace, driving the both of you to your climaxes. You squirmed when he emptied his load inside of you, feeling full of his come. Riki pulls out, quickly swiping your panties off the floor and pulls them up.
“We don’t want to let it go to waste, do we?” He grins at your noise of discomfort.
You glared at him, slowly pushing yourself off the desk, only for your legs to buckle. Seeing this, Riki steadied you with one hand on your waist while the other rested on your back.
“Whoops.”
“This is your fault, so you better take responsibility,” you retorted, already regretting what you said when he grins.
Riki leans in so he could whisper into your ears. “Oh I will, princess, don’t worry. I think you should worry more about whether you can handle it or not.”
Looks like you might have to take a sick leave for tomorrow…

. . . Riki as a sub!
smut | explicit | nsfw
sub! riki x gn! reader
Warning : handjob, blowjob, dacryphilia, riki is a brat, riki begging, cum in the mouth.
Riki is a shy sub... he tries not to show that he loves being under your control, but fails miserably.
You were still in foreplay so you decided to give him a little massage.
He loves it when you masturbate him, because your hand is soft. His hand is not capable of giving him as much pleasure as yours.
but as much as he was loving it, he's still shy... so instead of moaning, he was biting his lips, swallowing his own moans and letting out small grunts of pleasure.
Realizing this, you decided to slow down your movements, making your touch very very slow, almost being a great torture for your little boy.
"please" he asked through a grumble.
"please what hm?..." "I need to hear your words love"
"pleease, f-faster" he begged impatiently
"Faster? hum, i dont know if i should. You know how much I love listen to your moans... but you've been this whole time hiding them. I'll go fast when I hear them..."
After that, oh... his face will be SO red, but he'll still comply with your request. Moaning loudly and gripping the bed sheet tightly because he's not allowed to touch you. You, on other hand, were excited to see that he was following your order, even though you knew he would never deny a thing you say. You'd even say he's a brat, always doing something "wrong" to be reproached.
Well, you got so fucking excited when you heard his moans getting louder and his hips almost shaking, that you finally increased the speed of your hands, you were in a good mood so you decided to please him a little more by sucking his cock with your hot mouth.
The boy has never moaned so loudly before, he was undoubtedly feeling a lot of pleasure, just you made him feel like that, his body was warm, some tears were already dry and others were still running down his beautiful face, he came quickly, with just one more lift of his hips to feel more of the warmth of your mouth on his already sensitive cock and a loud moan -which you neighbors certainly heard-, he released his dense white stripes down your throat.
The boy seemed out of breath, his chest was rising and falling quickly, his body was still training and he had some spasms due to the pleasure he had just received.
After swallowing his cum -since your boy's taste is too good to be wasted-, you caressed him on his thighs and waist, repeating softly how much of a good boy he had been to you. You sneaked up his body, moving up until you reached his lips and gave him a little peck.
Your night wasn't over, this was just your love's first orgasm, you still had the whole night to take care of him and he certainly couldn't wait for the next few hours.

My Love, Mine All Mine
Genre : Comfort, fluff 🙈
Summary : You had a terrible day at work/school. Everyone treated you like shit and as soon as you got home, you began to cry and vent to your boyfriend.
Warnings : none honey this is good Fr 🐺 #baddie
a/n : bois I saw Niki listening to this fkn song on Weverse and freaked the fuck out so here I am🐺.. my ass is also not gonna edit so v sorry for mistakes🧑🏻🦲..
Niki held you in his arms, rocking you gently. You were crying, venting to him about your shitty day. Snot, drool, and tears cascaded down your face, smudging your mascara and leaving you feeling terrified of how you must look to your boyfriend. His gentle touch caressed your face. “Look at me.” He whispered. “No.. my makeup is… it’s messed up and I look scary.” You said through sniffles. “Please Angel?” He pleaded softly. His voice was so soft snd smooth, how could you resist? You slowly looked up at him. Your eyes met with his and he gave you a warm smile. “Hi pretty girl..” he cooed. His thumbs tenderly wiped away your warm tears. “I look scary don’t I? Like a raccoon.. or something..” you said. “A cute raccoon.” Niki gently laughed. He continued to caress your face with admiration and love in his eyes.
"Y/N," he whispered, his voice soft and soothing. "Go sit in front of your vanity. I'll be back, okay? I’m gonna go to the kitchen really quick.” He pressed a chaste kiss to your wet cheeks before you reluctantly nodded, your pout and teary eyes melted his heart. "Okay," you murmured softly.
When he returned, his hands were filled with your favorite snacks.🩷
"Alright, here. Eat some snacks," he said, placing them on your wide vanity. You eagerly grabbed a bag of your favorite chips and some candies, feeling a bit more comfortable. You grabbed some makeup wipes and wipes away all of your smudged makeup.
"Where are your hair ties?" he asked, rummaging through your drawer. "They're here on my vanity... why?" you inquired. "Gimme," he replied with a smile, and you handed them to him. He then took out a couple and put them around his wrists.
"Can I connect to your speaker?" he questioned. "Yeah, sure," you replied.
The familiar melody of your favorite song, "My Love, Mine All Mine" by Mitski, filled the room, making you smile. “How’d you know I like this song?” You asked. "I've heard you sing this in the shower a couple of times... you have a beautiful voice, Y/N," he said, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and kissing your forehead. You blushed at the compliment, feeling a rush of warmth.
"Okay... let me know if I'm hurting you... I'm not the best with this stuff," he said, picking up your hairbrush.
Niki began to brush through your hair slowly and gently, his touch soothing and comforting. The tension began to melt away as the gentle strokes of the brush untangled knots and smoothed out your hair. The music played softly in the background, creating a comforting atmosphere in the room.
“Close your eyes. I wanna surprise you.” He smiled. You closed your eyes, allowing yourself to get lost in the moment.
You felt Niki's movements around you, a sense of anticipation building in your chest. His touch remained gentle as he worked, his hands moving with practiced ease through your hair. You could faintly hear him singing the song, your favorite🩷 his voice was so pretty , it made you feel so warm inside.
Slowly, you blinked your eyes open, greeted by the sight of yourself in the mirror. Your hair was styled in a cute single braid.
“You look so pretty..” he whispered as he bent down to place a kiss to your cheek. “Say it..” he said. “Huh..? Say what?” You asked. “Say you’re pretty.. look at yourself my love..” he tucked a couple strands of hair behind your ear. “I’m pretty..” you softly smiled at yourself in the mirror. Niki let out a little chuckle. “You should take a picture and post your hair style on your insta.. show it off though that I did it.. I wanna make your exes and secret admirers jealous lowkey..” he laughed.
You rolled your eyes at him. “Is that why you did my hair.. and played my favorite song?…” you questioned with a hint of sass. “No.. I just wanna show my girl how much I love her..you’re mine.. mine all mine..” he said caressing your bottom lip with his thumb before bringing your soft lips to his.
