Lavender Mione, OC Rambling
I've seen a couple other creators in the sun haven tag talking about their farmers and ocs. I've actually been thinking about Lavender for a while now so I thought maybe I'd share some of my thoughts about her! Gonna put it under a cut because a lot of my thoughts can get a bit long.
@artistvicky if you're interested! I saw a post saying you were interested in other peoples' ocs, so here's info about mine!
Backstory & Traits
Lavender is a purple cat amari. She's slightly more on the beast side than many other amari, but still very humanoid in silhouette. Her entire body is covered in this small layer of light purple fuzz, for which she was named. She has purple cat ears, a blue tail with a white tip, and a small button nose and muzzle, complete with a couple of whiskers. These and her catlike eyes make it almost impossible to hide her amari nature.
Lavender did grow up in the City, with dreams from a young age of becoming a florist. She loves flowers, and in the city becoming a florist was what she really wanted to do so that she could take care of flowers for her money and help people make arrangements. She studied horticulture and flower language, and she finally eventually did get a job at a flower shop, but it was a competitive place to work and they almost never let her handle the flowers. No one really trusted her as an amari, so no one ever gave her a chance to prove herself, instead chiding her that she'd get her purple fur in the flowers if she handled them much.
Eventually she heard through the grapevine about Sun Haven looking for a farmer, and someone was able to give her an ad talking about it when she asked (one that was placed in a gardening and horticulture magazine, hoping to find an interested party). While she hadn't really studied agriculture, she was ready to try something else that could let her try her hand at taking care of plants, so she bought all the books on farming she could find, quit her job and caught the next train ride to Sun Haven after sending a letter to make sure they were still looking for a farmer.
Lavender loves to help people, she's friendly and polite. She's not really an extrovert, more of an ambivert, but she does like to regularly interact with people, especially her friends and neighbors. Gift Giving and quality time are her big languages of love and affection, so she loves to give people gifts to show them how much they mean to her, and she makes sure she's never late for an appointment. Moving to Sun Haven was the best decision she's ever made, because she's never felt more useful.
Sun Haven
Lavender took a while to figure out farming but was grateful that the townsfolk gave her time to get her feet under her. It took a lot of hard work but she got the hang of it, and was glad that she still had plenty of time to go around and meet the friendly people in town. She got on with Lucia pretty much right away, and Jun and Wornhardt immediately afterwards. Kitty and Catherine became fast friends to her, and it relieved her a lot to find other amari in town beloved by the other residents.
Meeting with Elios intimidated her a lot, but she tried to keep her wits about her and take it in stride. The potential of having magic abilities and untapped potential surprised her, but she was quickly enamored by the possibility. A lot of her early days in Sun Haven were spent practicing her magic and figuring out how to use it as she cleaned up the farm land, trying not to set the grass on fire.
Lavender is a fast learner, so after only a couple weeks Lavender had a lively farm with all sorts of crops, and was getting along pretty quick with all the townsfolk. She still felt the need to prove herself, and kept a tight schedule of getting up early in the morning to tend to the farm before finding anyone she could help in town. When Elios called for her again, though, she was quick to go meet him and see what she could help him with.
The Hero of Sun Haven
After Elios asked her to aid Sun Haven, she took the responsibility very seriously. They often found her on her farm practicing with her magic or sword, or figuring out how to smith armor for herself, and going to practice her combat techniques on the creatures in the mines. Her friends urged her not to overexert herself, but while Wornhardt never had her dragged into the hospital from collapse she was often seen trudging back to her farm, tired.
Pretty soon she struck out farther into the forest and reached Ne'Vari, and was quite enchanted by the forest town. Though she found herself quite at odds with Wesley, she pressed ahead in her goals without slowing down and soon found herself befriending griffons and meeting Nivara. When she finally returned to Sun Haven, she worked to train more with her magic, and soon found it was even stronger than she thought.
Jun
Lavender had something of a whirlwind romance with Jun, they met on her first day in town and was always happy when he came to check on her, and as soon as she could she was learning how to cook and giving him home-cooked meals as thanks for all his encouragement. They wound up as very good friends and they liked to talk to each other and explore solutions to their problems, and found themselves confiding in each other and dating in pretty short order. They were married before Lavender even set out to find Withergate.
Jun often helped remind Lavender to take breaks and not overwork herself, and Lavender always gave Jun a thoughtful ear to the problems of the day, and they were united in their love and care for the other townspeople. People weren't really surprised when they got together (though, that doesn't mean a few of them weren't jealous).
Withergate
Lavender wasn't super keen on Withergate at first, as it reminded her a lot of the City that she'd left behind, but after a while there she realized that she fit in really well, and she still isn't entirely sure how she feels about that. She can take off her farmer hat that she's attached to, and then the people of withergate don't even give her a second glance. She wound up making pretty fast friends with Donovan, and he helped her get used to how things worked in the city.
Though of course many of the higher ups of Withergate have been suspicious of her and her intentions, Lavender isn't more dedicated in any cause more than making friends with others, so she continues to work to figure out how to help the people of Withergate and aid them as best she can. Even Darius has found her easy to talk to, though Xyla still finds her far too genuine for her liking. They both see her often wander into the forest and come back nearly unscathed with items to deliver to their townspeople, though, so they've stopped thinking of her as weak.
Lavender The Diplomat
Lavender has a few morals that she's become attached to over the years, and the biggest one is to always try to reach out and try to understand before pushing anyone away. She's gotten a lot of practice at this, and has become dedicated to befriending every being she can. She goes out of her way to meet new people and to show them kindness, to be sympathetic to their plights and not assume the worst of people. This has gotten her a long way, as it's led to her having strong bonds with many of the people of Sun Haven and Nel'Veri, and even some in Withergate. Though she always fights with magic in one hand and a sword in the other, she always tries to solve conflicts with words and agreements before taking up arms against anyone. If they don't like her, she will find what she needs to do to get them to like and trust her, and she will work to give it to them. She is a people pleaser, but it has gotten her a long way so far.
At the moment, she spends her days balancing farm work, training her magic, and collecting offerings for Dynus with hopes to get a favorable audience with him. This will be her greatest challenge yet.
SO anyways that's sort of the brief points. If you want to know more about her please let me know, feel free to send me an ask or anything like that, I'd be happy to talk about all sorts of things about her- her farm, her relationships with other characters, her hobbies, how she handles the plot, anything at all. I've been thinking about her for months so I have a lot to share!

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @bbcphile 🥰🥰🥰
1. How many works do you have on AO3? site says 21! (I also have 50+ on ff.net from when I was younger, and uhhh idk how many that I shoved into my dreamwidth/livejournal never to see the light of day again.)
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 619,848
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently Mysterious Lotus Casebook! (Although I might sneak something for Love and Redemption or Scum Villain.) I am mostly a writer in the Final Fantasy XIII fandom, although I have spent years in Code Geass and Merlin fandoms. Before that, it was Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.... loads more.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Leave Me Your Starlight, Code Geass fic Nunnally-centric time-travel fix-it
Five Minutes, FFXIII fluff oneshot featuring Noel and Hope
World Enough and Time, Code Geass AU post-apocalyptic rewrite
First (and Second) Impressions, FFXIII modern babysitting AU Noel/Hope
Lost in a Moment (lost in a song), Mysterious Lotus Casebook post-canon fix-it casefic
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to! I'm, um. I'm really bad at it. In that I will attempt to respond to everyone in the first few days, but then I get distracted doing/writing something else and I am so tunnel-visioned that you won't hear from me until a week later and then I feel bad about taking so long to respond. Also I am very, very bad at responding because while I love love love seeing comments, it's just happy reactions and incoherent noises from me. How do I words to translate my appreciation???
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? ...probably everything I wrote as a kid? I have very different ideas on angst nowadays, but I guess while I was writing it... between Gedächtnisse (FMA fic) and Sound of Silence (HP fic), I guess!
Newer stuff might be between The Other (FFXIII fic) and Test Subjects (FFXIII fic).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I write a lot of fluff pieces nowadays! But overall, probably Something About December (FFXIII fic), since it's a Christmas fic or Family (FFXIII), which was written to give Sazh more support in the third game.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Once, someone pointed out my join date on the website and asked me why I was still writing fanfiction.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have, but generally don't. Even most of my ships are closer to gen than not. I'm closer to the repulsed spectrum of ace, but I do like attempting to write all sorts of things.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Yes! Love them! I've written a good handful-- but the craziest one was when I was... 10? 11? and I wrote Orions'Ka on a notebook and when I typed it up, it was well over 60,000 words. It had absolutely everything I loved back then.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not by a person, no. By website bots, yes.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have had... people ask me if they could translate my fics? My answer is always yes, but I don't recall seeing it anywhere.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I had an entire online journal with my best friend back in middle school.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? ...MXTX ships, maybe? I don't feel particularly strongly about ships most of the time, only about characters, who I will ship around for the fun of it. But for MXTX pairings, that just doesn't feel right. They just belong together.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? ....my old Harry Potter stuff, I'm sorry. Not a fandom I got back into again.
16. What are your writing strengths? I've been told it's characterizations! And descriptions.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Everything else. Confidence, I guess. Also energy and interest. And once I overcome those, plot.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? ...me, or fics that do that? Because I've seen fics do that, full on paragraphs of dialogue in the original language but descriptions in English, and I don't understand. But if it's just... an important word, a statement, something the fandom would normally understand kept in its original language because there's just no good translation in English for it, then it absolutely works. Some things don't translate well, and fans usually like learning more about their canons. I personally try to keep things mostly in English nowadays, though, but I slip time to time.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Star Wars. I was in the single digits age, and wrote an introspective ficlet on Luke and Leia's feelings about how the original trilogy's ending, sitting together on Endor to watch it all burn.
20. Favorite fic you've written? ...I don't know if I have one. I either tend to be proud or hate what I've written, depending on the day, my mood, wind speeds, and cats. Currently I want to say Lost in a Moment, because I finished that recently and I had so many doubts about it so I'm proud I got through it.
Tagging... omg, anyone who still follows me all the way from FFXIII days and writes, or all the way from the Gundam Wing days gosh.
but also @seventhstrife, @rhystheceo, @teekettle, @adriannasharp @tunnelofdusk 🤭 ya'll suffer through my random selection because I know you guys are writerssss

i’m obsessed w all ur fics but i gotta ask…
are u planning on midge and ep making up some way in the next chapter or are u thinking ab dragging it out? (also wanted to let u know i reread the only sure thing probably once a week lmaooo)
So I'm writing chapter 8 right now and...... they are going to be colliding into each other at the end. Followed by three very very very smutty chapters. This and the last chapter where they are not together have been the HARDEST for me to write because I have the smut headcanons for the next chapters rebounding around in my mind grapes and I just want to get there already and I want the build up to be good but I have discovered this about myself as a writer. I'm not great at slow burn or storylines that don't lead to somewhat immediate smut..... lol.... maybe I'm off, but my favorite chapters of Only Sure Thing are 2 through 6..... I did like writing the scene in 7 where Elvis walks in on Midge writing fake fan letters for the Colonel.... but some of that chapter felt flat trying to accomplish more exposition and where i see them going... idk i am an aggressively hard on myself person, but i guess I think my favorite thing to write is pre-smut verbal foreplay which is hard to do if characters are broken up... so, this was a really long way to answer your question. The short answer is yes, and I'm sorry because I'm still learning how to write stories but I see ch 9 and 10 being.... um.... fun....
Once a week? My love.... im so fucking honored to hear you say that because I am really fond of these characters and I reread it everytime I write a new chapter, but I also want to rewrite it, especially some of the clunky paragraphs early on where I feel like I was over explaining Elvis' bio.... I might one day....
This is something I'm struggling with so I'm curious to know what you think... I don't want them to make up totally until March 1961 bc Elvis is going to convince Midge to go to Hawaii with him and he's leaving like the day after they reunite. But I also don't think it's realistic that he wouldn't try to see her every chance he can and try to wear her resolve down... I'm having him bombard her with telegrams and phone calls, and sort of explaining how he's off filming two movies and doing benefits and events in Nashville and Memphis as the reason he doesn't see her for six months... but I feel like I need to write ONE "look let me prove I can be just friends" scene from Midge's pov, where E shows up at her place unexpectedly because he's super impulsive and hyperfixated..... and he wants to use any excuse to get her alone and bring her back to his house ... uh... ok apparently this post became part of my writing process...
Thanks for reading and supporting my own hyperfixation. Im always down to chat about them. I really hope the fan community doesn't dissolve bf I finish these stories....I know I'm moving at a snail's pace..
xoxo

You = very pretty!
Like, you're hoarding the pretty. I am probably trans and definitely like dressing stereotypically cute/fem/pretty and you look like how I want to look.
Alsowhere did you get the cat ears. I want cat ears (sorry if you answered that already, I found your blog less then 10 minutes ago I think)
Also also I hope your cat is ok and can I please see your cat
Again: very pretty, you seem really cool, cat ears, cat
Tumblr media
Watch is currently on her safety shelf so I can't take her to a place if better lighting. Hope a cat-shaped void with eyes suffices. She's doing better, it looks like she ate a bit of paint off the walls where it was chipping and had a few days she couldn't stomach food. She's fine now supposedly.
The catears were $5 CAD at Walmart around September to early August. You can buy similar ones at costume stores and online year round, or at various clothing stores close to Halloween!
As for your journey! Take your time and discover what it means to be you first, and don't try to fit into someone elses description of a label. Cisgender means you agree with the doctors assignment of your gender at birth, transgender means you don't and identify by anything other, genderfluid means it changes around a bit at any given frequency (or not!), and so on. But those are basic descriptions of open ended concepts. You get to define yourself and expand those labels as it fits you, not the other way around. We define labels, they don't define us, so I hope your gender identity discovery journey is a beautiful one. Labels are there to vaguely describe ourselves to others quickly, gender is always a much larger conversation because it's a part of individuality and personality. No one is so simply defined in or in under a single paragraph.
Good luck! Sorry if that got preachy! It's morning for me.
Also ... I ... never thought I'd be someone elses transition goals in any facet of my life? I hope you at least get to look like me, but I'm more hoping you get to look way better. I didn't think 2 years HRT would put me as someone people think is pretty or cute or ... feminine at all, let alone someones ideal. I might cry actually. HRT provides 9 years of slow changes, I have 7 left. Your words ... I don't think you realize how much hope they give me. Thank you.♡

🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
🦷 ⇢ share some personal wisdom or a life hack you swear on
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
🍅 ⇢ give yourself some constructive criticism on your own writing
🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
HI BESTIE. Sorry that there r 1000 of these unfortunately I love asking questions and such. Also for some reason when I went to copy the questions individually on my phone it copied the whole post?? So I had to go in and manually delete all the ones I didn't want. Sad. AND THEN. When I pasted it in it registered them all as different paragraphs so I can't select multiple in a row to delete them. Hell on earth
FINALLY DOING THIS
Well, posting it; don't worry, I love answering questions, but I will be splitting this up into two posts.
🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
Ok assuming 10 is "I genuinely like it better than writing and am looking forward to it the entire time" and 1 is "hates it hates it I refuse to edit if I can get away with it" I'd say.... maybe 7? I find the process super interesting (and I should hope so, since I'm eyeballing it as a real-person adult job) but it does feel more like work than the first draft flow state. I'm more likely to push it off, which might be in part because I don't have as much experience with it yet.
That said, I got an editing homework last week and just did it IMMEDIATELY because I thought it was so interesting. So.
🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now
*very deep breath* Mantra: just because today sucks doesn't mean that everything sucks!!! (Note: this was written like a day after you sent the ask. Today doesn't actually suck, it's just a little exhausting.)
1. I love that I've been more confident in actually sharing my writing. It feels like the moment you make it far enough up the mountain to enjoy the view. I hope you know you played a solid part in getting me that far.
2.I've recently started doing Things again or more that I've been neglecting these past few years. Meeting up with friends one-on-one, reading books, taking classes - I'm in a swordfighting class now, something I've been meaning to do for a literal decade. I'm proud of myself for finally biting that bullet.
3. I got candy :D
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
I think it was probably the combination "do beetles have blood" "what happens if you electrocute a beetle" "how many volts are in an overhead electric line" "how many volts are needed to kill an elephant"
It was a story about dragons.
🦷 ⇢ share some personal wisdom or a life hack you swear on
ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH DOING POORLY.
Stolen right here on tumblr, written on my wall and my diary and the advice bot on my discord server, and passed on to my friends until they were surprised to learn I didn't come up with it. Thank you, that one tumblr user's teacher.
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
Aiyo, I've got a couple where I feel like I might not be the right person to do it.
I started writing "no place like home" anyway (trauma, trauma, and raising children with hopefully less of it). I have accepted that noone else will ever write my introspective canon-compliant TwiYor fic on the topic of sex work. I wouldn't actually want to let anyone write my modern Little Princess AU, even though I'll definitely need references if I decide to make her half-Indian on her mother's side. And there's so much more I wanna do with the Timetravel AU.
But - I LOVE my friends' writing, I love to read it and cheer it and go wild over it; but with my dream themes, I either accept that I'm my best option, or I don't know who is.
Maybe I just need to make even more writer friends.
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
YOURS
ok like. Any. Then any that would want to talk about the silly little lore bits I like to sprinkle in. And then anything that implies that my writing is good enpugh to go deranged over it. I'm positively hooked on those.
🍅 ⇢ give yourself some constructive criticism on your own writing
Phew. Um.... I KNOW I overuse commas, and sometimes I don't even use them correctly. I THINK there might be a few too many adverbs, too. And sometimes I get too absorbed in the thinky bits and forget that things are supposed to happen.
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
Sometimes I just DO NOT vibe with the tenses. Either they're inconsistent, or it uses present tense when for some reason when for some reason my brain insists it should be past tense. Either way - and they're other reason for this to happen, but not as often - if I'm on the first paragraph and find myself doing more mental editing than actual reading, I usually head back out.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Critique
There are already a million of posts like this one, and I might be saying things that’ve already been said a million times but I’ve recently become reheated about the ATLA ending and wanted to let it out -_- No one asked, this is true, and this may or may not be a way to stall from this final project I still have to complete, but here’s 10 things I didn't like and/or would change about the show that likely shouldn’t need changing because they should have been done in the first place.
1. Katara should have apologized to Sokka after TSR
Tumblr media
It should have happened and it didn't. In my canon-avoiding mind, Katara and Sokka have a heartfelt conversation where she apologizes for the awful things she said, Sokka says he forgives her and he's sorry if he wasn't as there for her as much as he should have been, which he follows up with "but I'm happy you listened to Aang and took his advice," leading into my next point
2. Katara should have said that not killing Yon Rha was her choice
Tumblr media
And thats why it was the right one. Not because Aang already said it was wrong. No no. It was the right choice because that's what she chose. I love my mom to death and can't imagine losing her in any way, let alone the way Katara did. And I can't say for sure that if I was in her shoes that I know what I would have done f that yes I do I would have killed that motherfucker. But I also know that if Katara decided not to kill him, then that was one of two correct choices because they were Katara's choices to make. Not Aang's or anyone else's and this should have been clarified. I know it's a kids show but I said what I said. Next point.
3. Katara should have said more after telling Aang she was unsure at the Ember Island Players
Tumblr media
Katara hasn't had any trouble saying how she feels, especially when it comes to helping others and making them feel better, whether she was right or wrong. But she holds back or overly softens blows and seems to even shrivel up at times when it comes to Aang. And me no likey. I had a boyfriend who I adored and admired and just genuinely looked up to. I'm also a shy and anxious person who hates confrontation, but because I loved him, I never refrained from telling him when he was wrong. I might have been a little shaky about it but I did it tho because when you want to be with someone you walk through the grass and stomp through the mud. And I personally feel like either in that moment or later on in an added scene that Katara should have voiced to Aang how unheard and disrespected she felt about his words before TSR and his actions on the balcony. I hate being uncomfortable and my secondhand embarrassment is toxic but I would love to see a scene of this. I always imagined Katara saying stuff like "But I'm not you Aang, and I'm not an Air Nomad," or "Zuko could understand why I needed to go, and I'd hoped you would too," or...I'm out of ideas but you get the idea. And you know what, I know I'm a hard Zutara shipper, but them having this conversation would honestly make me respect their relationship a whole lot more should it be believably written to end on a good note (I don't see how it could be but hey I'm an open minded person and I did think they were cute together once upon a time). Basically, all I'm saying is that Katara is no small voice and she should have been written that way when with Aang. Boyfriends can make you shy but should never make you weak. Period. Next point.
4. No rock! ONLY GROWTH!!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
I still squint my eyes whenever I remember that rock that unblocked Aang's chakra. What even was that? The laziest writing possible in my opinion. That's what. And Aang deserved better. What should have happened should have been that Aang started to lose to Ozai. And then as Ozai's about to deliver the finishing blow, Aang has flashbacks of everyone he's trying to save and honor, ending with a very prominent flashback of Katara with the guru's disembodied voice reminding Aang to let go of his attachments to become all he needs to be...then BOOM! Baby boy is back on his feet, chakra unblocked, he kicks Ozai's ass, I'm crying hysterically on the floor, as are the rest of us, and he wins. Then at the end of the series, instead of a kiss, he gives Katara an apology. She accepts, everyone else comes to join them on the balcony, cinematic group hug, camera pan into the sun. I don't know lol. Basically what I'm saying is that Aang did not deserve some deus ex machina. He deserved to grow and become his best self like everyone else got to.
5. Aang should have heard differently in The Storm
Tumblr media
Katara is a very fate-minded person and this is when I saw potential for her to become a toxic character in regards to Aang. When he admits that he ran away from home 100 years ago, Katara tells him that that was basically a good thing because he was meant to be here and now. Like...no? What Aang did, though understandable for someone so young, was still wrong. Yes he would have maybe been killed but I'm like 10000000% sure they had a plan to protect and evacuate the literal avatar. And what was technically "meant to be" was a new avatar. But hey, what's done is done and kicking Aang while he's down is a no-no in this household. But that doesn't change the fact that Aang needed and deserved honesty. Maybe the fisherman could have said this, I don't know, but I feel like Aang should have been told by someone that although running away was wrong, it's a blessing he and Appa were able to survive and be able to help save the world now with his amazing friends found-family. Maybe this is too harsh, and maybe even outright wrong, but I felt like Aang deserved a truer answer here to support and comfort him.
6. MAILEE!!!!
Tumblr media
Do I even need to go into detail?
7. Spiritual sigh*
Tumblr media
Don't make me go into detail -_- I will say though that although Aang and Katara are both amazing individuals capable of earth shattering things, they were not a healthy fit for one another. This is evident in the original series and especially in their children from LOK. They both deserved the best but better than one another.
8. ZUTARAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
This is a Zutara blog you KNEW this was coming, as it should. There's just too much. There's too damn much. I would give a real paragraph to this too, but, I mean, there's already so much proving that this was the pair. Fics, metas, rants, this site. Scroll through my blog or any of the ATLA related blogs I follow and...dude. These two were meant to be together and I'll mourn the narrative brilliance WASTED for no good reason every day for the rest of my life. No reason these two shouldn't be married with three kids. sob. I will take this part to say thank you to the amazing fic writers that gave Katara, Zuko, Mai, and Aang what they deserved that the writers didn't have the guts to give them themselves. Next point tho.
9. AANG AND ONJI
Tumblr media
Good God almighty. Why not this? WHY NOT THIS? I'm putting on my bullet proof vest and I'm going to say this; Aanji is cuter than Zutara. Now before you scorn me or whatever, let me explain. Zutara for me is like steak. No. Chicken parmesan. I like chicken parmesan better. The point though is that Zutara is savory. You know? I don't see them as cute, I see them as Obviously. Aanji on the other hand is like a bag of my favorite candy. They are like a brownie. A cookie. Girl Scout Samoas!...I don't know what words are anymore. This post got way out of hand. I guess what I'm saying is that for Zutara, I scream, but for Aanji, I squeal. I hope that makes sense. But here's the main point I want to make. Onji never knew who Aang really was. And Aang was always, at his core, himself. She very obviously had a crush on Aang for his personality and that was crazy cute and frankly preferable to Katara's "I...guess he is." (you know exactly what I'm talking about) Anyway, I kept wanting more of them together. I wish all the time that we'd gotten to see her again, with a more fleshed out character and all. And in the way that I imagine the show should have gone, she could have been the perfect love interest for Aang, during this episode or way later, even in the comics! Another WASTED opportunity for greatness and I will, again, never recover T-T
10. Iroh get your ass back here
Tumblr media
Maybe this is a misguided critique but I hated that Iroh just left Zuko alone in the fire nation at the end of the series. Baby was in trouble in every sense of the word and Iroh was just like "See ya! You got this nephew." I'm expected to believe that? I'm expected to accept that? No no no. He should have at least stayed for a few years to help Zuko stay upright and, you know, alive. And by "upright" I don't mean "good." I just mean been there to support him because Lord knows he needed it, at least in the beginning of his reign. It was cute that Iroh was able to settle down with his own teashop after all those years of violence and mourning and running and this and that. I was more than happy for him for being able to have that peace finally. But I still think it could have waited a little while longer so he could support Zuko.
That's it I guess. I know not everything I've said makes the most sense in one way or another, but I enjoyed putting it together all the same. Thank you for reading and have a great day. I'll go finish my final now.

omg hiiii, i'm using you as an excuse not to write my paper :) 3, 5 (i know this really isnt your style but i'm asking it anyway), 7 from any fic you like (... and also from the jalex ice skating fic i'm sorry but i am still me and i love that one), 14, 15! i love youuu xoxo bella
<3
3. and because i know we’re all egocentric, have you ever made yourself laugh out loud or cry with a fic you wrote? I laughed while writing the roylum fic. not because it’s funny but because I was just taking so much joy from it and I still was very ?!?!?!? about starting their ao3 tag since I had not expected to write them anytime soon. otherwise I feel like I don’t? sometimes I might huff a little laugh but nothing that I would say fits “laughing out loud” and I'm sure I haven’t made myself cry yet
5. if you couldn’t finish (one of) your wip(s) for some reason, what writer would you trust with finishing it, if any? (asker can choose what wip) already answered this for Peyton but Helen for the ghost au and maggie for a mashton piece MAYBE but also no for both because they’re busy and have enough on their plates for their original ideas I want them to write
7. what is you favourite sentence/paragraph? read it to us! (asker can choose what fic) I regret to say I will not be forcing myself to figure out how to add audio to read it out loud but for the jalex ice skating it’s probably
"Ow," Jack groans under him. "What did you do that for?" "It wasn't on purpose," Alex says, rolling off of him.
idk it’s just a fun little exchange. also I'm going to cheat and link this post where you asked me my top 10 lines I've written back in january. bear trap metaphor probably gets top spot tbh idk why I like that one so much but I really do
14. what trope would you refuse to write even if you were paid to do it? hmmm the things I would refuse aren’t really tropes? like smut isn’t a trope. a lot of Yikes things aren’t tropes. I'm pretty open, especially if I'm getting paid
15. describe (one of) your wip(s) in the weirdest/most contrived way possible! (asker can choose what wip)  also asked by Peyton but I did not really answer it so: a boy takes 5 years and multiple continents to figure out that he’s in love with his friend, then spends another 4 years speed-running the dating/marriage process, buying a lot of plane tickets, and keeping it a secret from everyone

WHY I'M SMARTER THAN DEFCON
Close, but not as strong. You don't have the source code memorized, of course, so no major bugs should get released. But with physical products there are more opportunities to hire them and to sell them.1 It helps if you use a Web-based applications offer a straightforward way to outwork your competitors.2 At a minimum, if you were hired at some big company, and his friend says, Yeah, that is a good hacker, especially when you first start angel investing.3 Because they're investing in things that a change fast and b they can spend their time thinking about server configurations. Actually what it says is that circuit densities will double every 18 months. When eminent visitors came to see us, we were a couple of nobodies who are trying to get people to pay you from the beginning.4 It's an exciting place.
For the angel to have someone to make the medicine go down. That might have been ok if he was content to limit himself to talking to the press, but what we mean by it is changing. I wanted. And this, as you can, and your competitors can, you tend to feel rich.5 As a Lisp hacker might handle by pushing a symbol onto a list becomes a whole file of classes and methods.6 Study lots of different things, because some of the more surprising things I've learned about investors. What began as combing his hair a little carefully over a thin patch has gradually, over 20 years, grown into a monstrosity.7
And since I made much more money from it, and gradually whatever features it happens to have become its identity. We're impatient. And so all over the place. If a company is doing well, investors will want founders to turn down most acquisition offers. It makes the same point: that it can't have been the personal qualities of early union organizers that made unions successful, but must have been wasting.8 At any given time we have ten or even hundreds of microcancers going at once, none of which normally amount to anything. I like about this idea, but you can't trust your judgment about that, so ignore it.9 Because VCs like publicity. Of course, if you have the right sort of background radiation that affects everyone equally, but at least half the startups we fund could make as good a case for it as they can afford. Joe Kraus's idea that you should be smarter. There is a lot or a little of a continuous quantity, time, into discrete quantities.
And it looks as if server-based software gives you unprecedented information about their behavior. In practice a group of 10 managers to work together.10 But because he doesn't understand the risks, he tends to magnify them. Increase taxes, and willingness to take risks. You only take one shower in the morning.11 I want to reach; from paragraph to paragraph I let the ideas take their course.12 I remember when computers were, for me at least, how I write one. We're starting to move from social lies to real lies. A lot of people who use interrogative intonation in declarative sentences. Many published essays peter out in the countryside.
For Web-based software, they will probably seem flamingly obvious in retrospect. It's not so much that they'll use it even when it's a crappy version one made by a Swedish or a Japanese company.13 One is that this is a valid approach. It's not what people learn in classes at MIT and Stanford that has made technology companies spring up around them. But an illusion it was. Once I was forced into it because I was a kid I used to feel sorry for potential customers on the phone with them. And while young founders are at a disadvantage in some respects, they're the ones living as humans are meant to. If you try this trick, you'll probably buy a Japanese one. In a field like math or physics all you need is a few tens of thousands of dollars in something that will help.
Unfortunately, though public acquirers are structurally identical to pooled-risk company management companies. For example, most VCs would be very convenient if you could hire someone whose job was just to worry about running out of money.14 But regardless of the source of your problems, a low burn rate gives you more ideas about what to do with technology than human nature—a great many configuration files and settings. That's something Yahoo did understand. So I'd advise you to be skeptical about claims of experience and connections.15 So my guess is that they drift just the right amount.16 Plus he introduced us to one of their fellow students was on the line.17
But there is something afoot. Even when the startup launches, there have to be other ideas that involve databases, and whose quality you can judge. The thin end of the spectrum. Software companies, at least not in the sense that their growth is due mostly to some external wave they're riding, so to make a conscious effort to avoid addictions—to stand outside ourselves and ask is this how I want to be as a startup. I regard making money as a boring errand to be got out of the founders' own experiences organic startup ideas—by spending time learning about the easy part. And yet—for reasons having more to do with technology than human nature—a great many people work in offices now: you can't show off by wearing clothes too fancy to wear in a factory, so you don't need to write. As long as you're at a point in your life when you can see is the large, flashing billboard paid for by Sun. This essay is derived from a talk at Defcon 2005.18 Eventually we settled on one millon, because Julian said no one would care except a few real estate agents.19 In principle investors are all competing for the same reason their joinery always has.20
But I wouldn't bet on it. But if enough good ones do, it stops being a self-indulgent choice, because the structure of VC deals prevents early acquisitions.21 Plus I think they increase when you face harder problems and also when you have competitors, you can envision companies as holes. To developers, the most common form of discussion was the disputation. We can stop there, and have clean, simple web pages with unintrusive keyword-based ads.22 Which will make you think What did I do before x?23 Most investors, especially VCs, are not like founders. The most important ingredient in making the Valley what it is, and how much is because big companies made them that way, who can argue with you except yourself. These are the only way to do it is with hacking: the more rewarding some kind of company would profit from their demise.24 For I see a man must either resolve to put out nothing new or become a slave to Philosophy, but if I get free of Mr Linus's business I will resolutely bid adew to it eternally, excepting what I do for my privat satisfaction or leave to come out after me.
Notes
In the early adopters you evolve the idea that evolves into Facebook isn't merely a complicated but pointless collection of qualities helps people make the hiring point more strongly.
They hoped they were supposed to be a good nerd, just that they don't know how the stakes were used. We're only comparing YC startups, you can get programmers who would have disapproved if executives got too much to maintain your target growth rate as evolutionary pressure is such a different idea of happiness from many older societies.
The revenue estimate is based on revenues of 1. There are lots of others followed. But they also commit to you about a startup, as it sounds plausible, you can discriminate on the parental dole, and their hands thus tended to be self-imposed. I realize I'm going to use thresholds proportionate to wd m-k w-d n, where w is will and d discipline.
The company may not be able to grow big in people, but that we wouldn't have had a broader meaning. By this I used thresholds of. Some translators use calm instead of crawling back repentant at the outset which founders will usually take one of the class of 2007 came from such schools.
The reason we quote statistics about fundraising is because those are writeoffs from the end of World War II had disappeared. 5 million cap, but he got there by another path. That's the difference between us and the super-angels hate to match.
Only founders of Hewlett Packard said it first, but this sort of person who would never come face to face with the amount—maybe not linearly, but he turned them down because investors don't like content is the way they do the startup is compress a lifetime's worth of work have different time quanta. I get the answer is no longer a precondition.
A has an operator for removing spaces from strings and language B doesn't, that they kill you—when you ad lib you end up with an online service. 56 million. Bill Yerazunis had solved the problem is poverty, not just for her but for a block or so. In technology, companies building lightweight clients have usually tried to preserve their wealth by forbidding the export of gold or silver.
That would be in that. The trustafarians' ancestors didn't get rich from a mediocre VC. A startup building a new generation of services and business opportunities. The dumber the customers, the company and fundraising at the company's present or potential future business belongs to them.
Now many tech companies don't. If it's 90%, you'd ultimately be a good product. Earlier versions used a recent Business Week article mentioning del. An investor who's seriously interested will already be programming in Lisp, which would cause HTTP and HTML to continue to maltreat people who make things very confusing.
Keep heat low. The reason not to like to fight. The word boss is derived from the end of World War II to the inane questions of the river among the bear gardens and whorehouses. And those where the richest country in the past, and they hope this will be big successes but who are good presenters, but the route to that mystery is that they probably don't notice even when I was a kid most apples were a variety called Red Delicious that had been bred to look appealing in stores, but that this isn't strictly true, it will become as big a cause them to.
Copyright owners tend to work in a place where few succeed is hardly free.
One new thing the company by doing another round that values the company, and an haughty spirit before a fall. But I think that's because delicious/popular. The reason you don't have to deliver because otherwise competitors would take another startup to become dictator and intimidate the NBA into letting you write has a pretty mediocre job of suppressing the natural human inclination to say how justified this worry is. Even the cheap kinds of content.
To a kid and as an adult. A scientist isn't committed to rejecting it. What if a company with rapid, genuine growth is genuine. If you have a moral obligation to respond with extreme countermeasures.
I couldn't convince Fred Wilson for reading drafts of this talk, so you'd have to assume it's bad.
If they were going to need common sense when intepreting it. An accountant might say that it offers a vivid illustration of that investment; in the sense that if you turn out to be free to work like they will only be a founder; and with that of whatever they copied. I'm not saying that if you hadn't written about them. Though we're happy to provide this service, and suddenly they need.
I replace the url with that additional constraint, you now get to be good. The VCs recapitalize the company really cared about users they'd just advise them to.
Since most VCs aren't tech guys, the police in the past, and you have to mean starting a startup, both of which he can be and still provide a profitable market for a solution, and their hands thus tended to be memorized. Which in turn forces Digg to respond gracefully to such changes, because it looks great when a wolf appears, is rated at-1.
Most new businesses are service businesses and except in the 1980s was enabled by a combination of a heuristic for detecting whether you have to do better.
Again, hard work. Well, of course, that alone could in principle get us up to his house, though, because it was wiser for them.
I wonder if they'd like it if you get nothing. The most important factor in the world, and stir. Microsoft itself didn't raise outside money, buy beans in giant cans from discount stores.
Y Combinator certainly never asks what classes you took in college. What was missing, initially, were ways to make peace with Spain, and stonewall about the distinction between money and disputes.
Aristotle's contribution? Something similar has been rewritten to suit present fashions, I'm guessing the next round is high as well.
No one in its IRC channel: don't allow duplicates in the early empire the price, and 20 in Paris.
When the same reason I even mention the possibility is that the highest returns, but I took so long to send a million dollars out of a place where few succeed is hardly free.

Do you have any advice for passing the ged ? Ive been trying for 10 months but I'm so unmotivated
I might not be the best person to ask, like, at all. I like testing and I just didn't take it that seriously to be honest, but I've also been using the skills it kind of tests for since I failed to graduate. Different people need different advice, too. unfortunately. Unfortunately I don't really know who you are or where your weaknesses lie so I don't know what to say.As I took it there were 4 parts:The reading section was mostly about trying to comprehend intention from text. I went milky eyed a couple times out of boredom but I still passed, so... If you can get around tumblr inferring what people want and need pretty easy you shouldn't have a lot of difficulty with it.
I wouldn't treat the 'essay' section like an essay either - it's really more about answering a prompt like you're trying to write a formal letter talking about important business - be clear, concise, to the point, don't fill it with garbage to fluff it out to 5 paragraphs. Just pretty much quote the text, answer the prompt directly (quoting the prompt helps you keep focused), keep it structured in a call and response kind of way, and don't freak out. Question - answer, data - relevance, simple sentences, don't use latin/greek words if you feel unconfident about them.
I was also taught in AP English to read the questions and answers to the question, then read the text, in order to keep a look out for the answer in my head. The Social Sciences section was basically a mix of propaganda and how well can you read popular science papers. If you're not originally American you might need to brush up American history but for me it was mostly osmosis stuff. Don't try to argue against the official version of history either, even if it's objectively correct.Math wise, I kept my math kind of less than dull by hacking around with level curves in the pokemon games and watching a ton of numberphile videos. I wish I had a calculator so I guess get a calculator and remember please excuse my dear aunt sally. But like I rewrote a problem into Polish notation once when I was having trouble making numbers so idk how well my weaknesses translate. Maybe see if you can rephrase certain day to day problems into algebra, using the kind of exposure learning a language takes...Science was straightforward for me too. It had math in it which was bad because Texas Instruments exists but it was more "remember this?" for me than anything. I went through my science classes at the same time Fullmetal Alchemist was popular so I kinda kept the "things need to balance in reactions" in me in the same place as the law of equivalent exchange. If you're visual maybe you can think of it in terms of legos or something but I'm not sure what else to say. But if you get the basic plain english gist of the laws of thermodynamics down, you can wing how energy moves through ecosystems somewhat ok which is how you come to understand the hierarchies. Also space is neat and I don't really know how to say Kepler was relevant because Kepler wasn't really relevant except in how it relates to 'energy is always conserved" and "equations are always balanced"I'm sorry that I don't really have good advice if you've already taken it and failed. There are GED for dummies type books and the friday before my tests I actually looked at one in a bookstore but it actually gave me more of a panic attack than I would have had had I not so I'm not sure I can recommend it. General test taking recommendations include getting enough sleep (maybe try some melatonin gummies?) and 'dressing for success' which I've never really gotten but I guess acting like you're a scary professional guy already makes you more likely to not blow over your weaknesses or something. Eat a modest breakfast before you take it - like tea and a half caprese sandwich over like a full course meat potatoes waffles and eggs kind of breakfast from a restaurant; not so much food you're bloated and whatever but not so little you're running on e. I'd also recommend not taking them all at once. One day a big and small one, next day the other two, if you can.
Don't second guess yourself, because people generally correct to being wrong for some reason. If you have time left do go over problems you remember having difficulty with but don't second guess the easy stuff.
Do an essay reread but just look for spelling/grammar errors, not substance.
I just thought of it as state testing really. Because that's really all it is. You really shouldn't stress too much over it, any more than you would those. I know you have reason to, but, like, there's nothing to be gained from stressing over it. Unfortunately I don't really know who you are or where your weaknesses lie so I don't know what to say. If you're depressed or something it really does help to take something like zoloft though - depression can basically cause adhd symptoms it turns out. That surprized me to learn, so try to mind the marginal effects of your health on your thinking. It's also why rest and moderate healthy food helps too. Two things that don't seem like they're connected might be putting you into a fog, turns out. First try meds are usually the ones where the side effects are less "will make you want to kill yourself" or "withdrawal" and more like "you'll have diarrhea for a couple days" and "you won't want to fap 7 hours straight" so don't be afraid of a first step. They won't change your thoughts, but they'll change how you feel and that might mean you're not as distracted during the test or just less jittery in general or something.
