Like the parts with Peach and Mario just seem like they're shoving in references to gameplay elements in a way that feels really forced and unnecessary? An awkward wink wink nudge to people who played the games? Even if it were written with all the heart in the world I'm not gonna be able to forgive it for dropping Charles Martinet, the heart of the character, in favor of someone who sounds like Just Some Guy (and nothing against Anya Taylor-Joy, I like her quite a bit, but her Peach also sounds like Just Some Gal), but so far it doesn't even seem like it has that. It feels SO soulless.
