the 10 of wands jumped out right away. chan can sometimes feel like he has the entire world on his shoulders. he's the type to make it look easy, but there's sooo much responsibility resting on him. i can really feel the weight of it while reading myself. however, combined with the slow, steady and stable knight of pentacles, i don't see the weight of it crushing him.

he's being patient. from this spread alone, i can tell that he exactly knows how to deal with burdensome periods, he's been through them many times before. he's experienced these type of struggles already, so it's nothing he can't handle.

he's a very wise, mature and assertive guy. he's taking charge of whatever situation is thrown at him, and is currently in the midst of carefully planning out his next steps. he's really saying "okay, this is what we're gonna do, this is what we are not gonna do." i even see his voice overpowering many higher ups. chan is definitely the main guy in not only his career, but also skz's careers.

you notice how i did not say anything about his mental state yet? that's because all the cards i got till later on, only show me his strength dealing with everything. i think, he has the toxic tendency to push everything concerning his own wellbeing to the complete background.

but, inside he's feeling some anxiety. honestly, i think this entire situation with ive made him overthink a lot. he feels like his intentions were misunderstood. he feels like there's this lack of power he has over people from the outside putting words in his mouth, it's causing a sense of hopelessness inside him. like, no matter what he says, he can't really win. chan being a double libra makes him soooo overly focused on being liked by everyone. he hates knowing that there's people who view him in a bad light now.

Me personally, I don’t think that relationships should even be put into categories like that. The relationship shouldn’t be based off of how much romance stuff you do. It should be based off how much genuine love you have for each other. (Not necessarily romantic love, not necessarily sexual love, and not necessarily platonic love. Just love.)

No, I don’t think I would consider myself aplatonic. The amount of platonic love I feel and have felt for some people is honestly unreal to me. I never knew I could love like that but it’s so freeing and it makes me so wonderfully happy. So first of all, I would like to state that alterhumanity doesn’t necessarily stop when it comes to the bedroom or that kind of stuff. This doesn’t make any of it inherently sexual of course, but the identity/connection/etc doesn’t go “oh we’re shaboinking? Welp Imma go and pack my bags see you later!” Genitalia dysphoria is something that can happen to folks, and for some it simply means that such gear genuinely helps them with it.

The second important point is that, even if the gear has NSFW parts, that doesn’t mean they are being used for that purpose. i’m by no means an expert but i’ve researched seroquel before for a friend who was going off it so i’ll share that info in case any of it is helpful! i consulted with my gf on this since she’s currently on her psych rotation at the hospital.

dealing with side effects tends to come down to two options, adding a new med or going off the original med (either tapering off completely or tapering off that med & onto a new one). so i’ll go through those options to the best of my knowledge! obv a lot of this depends on what doctors are willing to do & idk what if any other meds your bf is / has been on but hopefully some of the info is relevant / helpful for him!

i definitely recommend checking out statpearls for thorough info on various medications, especially side effects. mainstream resources intended for patients don’t tell you shit but this is geared towards physicians. for a starting point on layperson advice i use Mad in America. as always i recommend taking both mainstream medical advice & forum responses / articles with as many grains of salt as you feel listed warranted.

1) add a med

for nightmares the go-to medication is prazosin. however according to drugs.com that has moderate interactions with seroquel, particularly wrt lowering blood pressure. so if your bf wants to keep taking seroquel but wants something else to help the nightmares, how much of a risk prazosin is would definitely depend on his particular health situation. my gf says they usually start prazosin off on a low dose so doctors may be fairly comfortable adding that prescription, but imo it’s best for your bf to be aware of the risks etc on his own first

2) switch to a different med

i get more into mainstream vs alternative tapering below. as far as other medications prescribed for bipolar, here are my gf’s quick & dirty summaries:

lithium - eventually fucks your kidneys

lamotrigine - if you don’t get the deadly skin rash not bad

carbamazepine - has multiple black box warnings including deadly skin rash and other shit

valproate - fucks your liver, also most people won’t give valproate if you have a uterus that could at all possibly have a resident ever

obv like, deciding to risk certain potential side effects is totally okay, my concern is when people don’t give informed consent about our medications etc. tapering to a different med is almost always faster than just tapering off a med, but if your bf decides to switch meds he can still use the techniques below if someone tries to taper him faster than he’s comfortable with.

3) go off seroquel without a replacement:

i highly recommend anyone who’s tapering off of any medication to double-check their doctor’s schedule. people may experience negative & potentially debilitating withdrawal effects when following the taper schedule set by their doctor, and some psychiatrists prescribe tapering schedules that are unequivocally dangerous.

on self-tapering forums, people by & large recommend a taper of 10% of the dose per month no matter the drug, going off of the dose you took most recently and not the dose when you started tapering. so for tapering off 100mg seroquel starting the taper in november, for example, a person would take 90mg daily in november, 81mg in december, 73.9mg in january, and so on.

this is obviously a highly cautious route; a lot of people are trying to prevent the maximum possible withdrawal symptoms, whereas people whose priority is getting off the meds sooner choose to taper faster than that. people who are self-tapering often invest in a kitchen scale and various tools for pill cutting to measure more exact tapering doses in smaller increments. some meds come in powder or liquid forms which can allow more precise tapering but afaik seroquel is not one of them.

more mainstream sources suggest a taper of 25% of the previous dose every two weeks, which using the previous example of 100mg and a taper starting in november would be 75mg nov 1, 56.25mg nov 15, 42.19mg nov 29, and so on. obv this is exponentially faster than the “forum schedule,” very roughly eight months versus 3+ years using that example dose. but this kind of thing can be adjusted by each individual depending on what symptoms they’re experiencing, what their priorities are, etc.

honestly it was really hard to find anything, like, operating within the psychiatric system that would give actual numbers. i didn’t see tapering by more than 25% of the dose at a time anywhere, especially on larger doses – for me it’s definitely a red flag if a provider suggests something faster than that. people who plan to tell their doctor about tapering / switch to a different med eventually may decide to start with a self-taper so they’re still being prescribed enough medication to lower it according to their preferences, then talk to the provider about tapering off that med or onto a new med after a few months.

the less elaborate option, which would be a linear rather than exponential decrease & require a physician’s cooperation, would be trying to get his dose prescribed as a multiple of 25mg, the smallest pill they make, & then decreasing by 25mg every month (or two weeks or whatever). this has a higher risk of withdrawal on a lower dose because you’re decreasing by a larger percentage of the dose.

potential withdrawal effects from seroquel include:

dizziness

mood stuff (irritability, anxiety, depression, “rebound” of whatever experiences were being treated)

sleep stuff (insomnia, restlessness)

nausea

headache

possible eye/vision issues (appear to be temporary?)

sweating

high heart rate

vomiting

abdominal pain & gi symptoms

muscle rigidity

generally if people start to experience withdrawal effects they don’t want, they go back to the most recent dose on their taper (eg, 81mg instead of 73.9mg) until the effects subside and then resume tapering more slowly. any withdrawal effects that seem serious or don’t go away, it’s a good idea to consider going to urgent care, a doctor, etc.

I think I’m finally understanding why I don’t like the female characters in outlander as much. It’s obvious and Idek how I didn’t realize it but you can really tell just how much stuff the male characters get to do/adventures they get to go on vs what the female characters get to do. It totally makes sense because of the time period but I never thought to stop and think about how it effects the plot. Jamie/John/any other male character is like the driving part of the plot, the women just go where they go. Jamie gets to lead a wine business, work the printing press, be a laird, go to prison, have a hunt on his head, be in charge of of his Ridge, participate in politics, live as a fucking hobbit you name it. And the female character just get to be housemaids and deal with whatever bullshit Jamie brings them into🥲 like where’s the Claire and Jenny teaming up together saving Jamie from his own stupid mistakes like in the first season! That episode was so fun! I feel like they do less of that now. And DONT GET ME WRONG I completely understand logically why the women don’t get to have as much fun, I’m just simply realizing I think that is why the female characters don’t have a place in my heart in the same way the male characters do. It’s because of their lack of freedom to adventure. The male characters just catch my attention more because they really embody the limitless adventure of Outlander. Like of course Claire goes on the craziest adventure out of all of them, but she’s a package deal from the moment she marries Jamie. It’s only like in season 3 for a couple episodes that’s she separated from him (mainly talking about when they’re headed to Jamaica). And once she reaches Fraser’s ridge she has drama between characters but nothing happens that really that thrilling. And just like “hmm I can’t think of anything else interesting for her to deal with so why not have her get assaulted😀👍” like HUH. That’s just so… like omg, pick something else! I know it’s important for her to understand how Jamie felt but Idek it’s not necessary imo. my thoughts (and these are just observations, not conclusions of guilt or innocence) is that it’s nothing more than polite conversation between a creator and fan that’s never initiated by dream. 18 responses composed of 27 messages over a period of 1 year and 4 months, about patches and content creation and a lot of “hru” “good good hbu”. the only time his responses are more than a sentence or two are once they start talking about music, at which point he also offers the snapchat (explicitly because he doesn’t use instagram much, although in the interest of fairness let’s take that with a grain of salt and not automatically assume he’s being 100% truthful).

either way, that’s…. not grooming. i’m sorry, it’s simply not, certainly not “nothing but fucking predatory” and anyone who calls it that is Severely watering down a very weighty term. even what we have of the snaps (which i think are most likely real, it’s just the nudes/sexts that we don’t have proof of) don’t show evidence of grooming which i wish more people would note, no matter where they stand on this

Personally, and take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I've been in art/fandom spaces for almost 20 years now. Today's art/fandom climate is drastically different than even 6 years ago, if you can believe it (obv there are consistencies, but I'm esp speaking on how I interacted in both fandom and webcomics),

And I hate to be the glass half empty guy, but unless something monumental changes in the internet climate, with multiple variables, I see it getting worse, not better. But that's partially on how corporations influence/run the apps we all utilize. Right now, I'd even go so far as to say an entire generation is being brought up with fast consumerism which is unfortunately resulting in some sense of entitlement. And it's not just gen-z getting influenced, don't get me wrong. I don't buy into that stupid generational war crap, so I’m not meaning to single anyone out. But I think younger gen-z have been raised on an internet vastly different than what I was. Hell, the entitlement in general on the internet is kind of disheartening.

But to get back to the core route, there has been this weird expectation from multiple apps and companies that art needs to be frequent to be relevant. Comics need fast updates, and even still engagement on virtually any form of art, unless you have a huge following, is so little. For example, back before webcomics became such a bloated industry, so let's say 2016 as an example of this, Satan and Me would get hundreds of comments per episode, and on tumblr it would get even upwards of thousands of notes/reblogs. Nowadays, tumblr SaM gets a few hundred notes, and the updates get anywhere between 20-50 comments. The view count has been axed tremendously.

A lot of these sites have an algorithm set up too, and restrictions. Sites like twitter and instagram feel like they actively work against art promotion. I do think the situation could get better, but it would take a loooot of unified artist pushback, as well as some of these apps changing to accommodate their artists who use them. These are big ifs.

With quick consumerism, less engagement, app dissatisfaction of "slow updates" building that expectation of pumping out art faster for audience consumption, and an overall unwillingness to accommodate artists to promote their work, I can't see the internet art environment getting better any time soon.

My best advice would be: unless you're basing income off of the art you produce, try to get more into self-enjoyment rather than outside sources providing you fulfilment in your art. I'm lucky that I've been able to build a pretty hefty following over the last almost decade, but, god forbid (knock on wood), if that were to all fall away and I had to go back to school for a different career path, I assure you I'd never stop drawing. You simply cannot create good art solely for engagement. I don't believe that's possible; there's no heart in completely corporate art.

I do pray for the art community, tho. I hope someday to see some wins in our corners, cuz it's been so bleak the last IDK 5 or so years.

this is such a funny question to me like I have literally never thought about it. The short answer: canonically no. Because the vibe that I get from Tolkien's parameters for Elvish conception is that it takes extreme physical, mental, and spiritual effort to spark life. The way I kind of think of it is that both parties have to be actively working on conception-- almost to the point that you're not really thinking about the sex and how good it feels. The sex is almost secondary. That's just my personal interpretation though!

I also feel like this goes against the nature of Elves purely because conception is SUCH a big (sacred?) deal. Elves celebrate their begetting day rather than their birthday (which is... a little weird at face value because it's like a celebration every year that your parents fucked lmao). I feel like it’s more the secondary characters like Eddie, Murray, Dmitri, etc. IDK why but I’ve always had a very overconfident feeling with this show that the core group was never in any REAL danger of not surviving the series, just a lot of fake outs and narrow escapes. Duffers better not make me eat my words in V2 or S5 or I’m throwing hands.

Okay one more and it’s probably a little more far fetched but IMDB still has Dacre listed on S4E9. Now I know to take this with a grain of salt because he had him listed on S4E6 literally up until it aired but I really like to believe maybe Max has one more encounter with Billy, even if in her own mind, where she can come to terms with her grief and let go of the guilt. I like to think he helps her with that somehow. (Or better yet they find him in the upside down and being him back.)

The final episode of the season is called The Piggyback so I’ve been running through all kinds of scenarios on who is piggybacking what. Like obvs we know what the literal meaning is but there are figurative ones too. But someone or something is going to be brought somewhere along with someone else. Good or bad, idk.

i’m currently celebrating 4/20 rn so forgive me if this doesn’t make sense but. on LSA there’s a woman who posted that she worked with Kurt on season 2 i think?? and she had like 90 pages of notes and she said that 90% of Kurt’s ideas and plot lines were completely scrapped when Elgin took over bc he wanted to make the show his own (obvs take this with a grain of salt)

Elgin’s been trying to steer away from soa, but now they’re the plot line of s4. what if they’re only in the first few episodes for the buildup and the fight? because obviously the mayans are going to come out on top, it’s their fucking show.

so i could see this as Elgin’s way of saying ‘fuck you’ to soa and ‘proving’ that they’re better. mayhaps???

Re: press and promo for movies, do you guys think that on top of his tour dates, the cinema spoke are relying on his star power to draw in the crowds? Genuinely curious idk how these things work. I feel like dwd has a solid enough lineup without him but I just don’t know and I wanna know lol.

Honestly I have no clue. My knowledge on movie industry is limited so WHATEVER I say, take with a grain of salt. But yeah for don’t worry darling, I’m thinking prerecorded things. He’ll be in New York so it’s possible he will do promo there before shows too. Idk what they’re contractually obligated to do but someone was hounding our inbox about the fact that Florence hasn’t like any posts and only just posted it on her Insta story and that’s it so I’m not sure what is required of them with that. I wish we would get a lot bc I do enjoy Florence quite a bit and Harry as well (obv) so I feel like we will know when we know. Promo won’t start for a while anyways, so it’s a guessing game.

Why I think “Last Kiss” is about Emily Poe.

Ok so I get that this is ancient history. This is just my own personal thought process, so come along if you want! I believe this song is about Emily Poe. I’m going to analyze the parts of the song that to me just don’t add up to be about Joe Jonas, the typical/hetsplaining muse for this song.

Ok so I just feel like Taylor & Joe would not have been alone late at night very often? I don’t know, this has more vibes of Taymily being on the tour bus together....late night talks. “Just for us to know”makes it sound like a secret to me. Emily was significantly older than Taylor at the time and Taylor being with her female fiddle player obvs wasn’t good for her image, so it would have needed to be secret. Taylor was young, impressionable, and thought when you say you love someone...that means you stick by them forever. I mean, I guess this could make sense that Joe could have told Taylor he loved her even though they only “dated” for 3 months. But this seems like a deeper hurt than that. Emily left the band and went to law school....and left Taylor behind.

Um, wouldn’t it make more sense for Taylor to maybe still have some of Emily’s clothes? They lived together on Taylor’s tour bus. If this was about Joe, she would have had to borrow some of his clothes/slept in his clothes? I mean I guess it’s possible, but I just don’t feel like Mama Swift would have been all about Taylor having sleepovers with Joe.

Emily was moving on to the next stage in her life. Taylor felt left behind.

Taylor never thought they’d end by Emily basically being forced to leave the band. I think Taylor maybe thought they could still secretly be together, as long as Emily wasn’t in the band anymore. But Emily chose to move on and leave Taylor behind.

Taylor just can’t let Emily go. I honestly don’t think JJ would have had this impact on her. They didn’t have enough time together to build such a strong bond.

This sounds like Emily and Taylor feeding off each other on stage. Maybe Emily brought out her goofy/carefree side. When would Taylor & Joe have been dancing?

When would Taylor have been watching Joe sleep? It makes so much more sense for Taylor to have watched Emily sleep on the tour bus. Plus, this feels like all Taylor had to go on was pictures of Emily on social media in her new life, acting like her & Taylor never happened.

“And I'll keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are”

What old friends would Taylor have with Joe? They wouldn’t have been together long enough to have old friends together.

This just emanates Emily leaving Taylor behind, and Taylor feeling forgotten. Taylor desperately hopes Emily remembers her and what they had, and she wishes Emily the best. I guess Joe could have changed his mind about Taylor...? But it just doesn’t resonate as much.

So yeah this is just my perspective/analysis; take it with a grain of salt. ✌🏻

In general I’m pretty fascinated with both cultural media conventions in (mainland) cn media and the relationship between audiences & media. Like part of it is how cn media has only very recently (comparatively speaking) entered The Global Stage for a fair amount of entertainment mediums (with the sheer volume of webtoons bilibili’s pumping out with… ah… varying quality, by artists and writers who are deffo unfamiliar with the medium they’re working in), part of it is how genres have a different structure and connotation (obv), part of it is how serialized media is much more common (the closest current eng equivalent I can think of are webcomics & fanfiction, there isn’t as much of an established alternative to traditional publishing that is accessible and popular and definitely not one on the scale of jjwxc), part of it is how extensive and strict censorship (😔) can change very easily and definitely impacts the meaning of media to audiences and the limitations + pressured writers have to work with, which is ALSO very interesting since I’m pretty sure there’s a very established practice of media piracy that’s balanced with most media being fairly cheap + accessible (like, as far as I’m aware there’s not necessarily the same issue of distribution of paid content, but literally unless you physically own something it can be locked or erased or changed without any warning AND a lot of foreign media is impossible to access legally) and it’s like. you. absolutely can’t analyze/interpret audience response or writing decisions or how unhinged fandom/entertainment circle can get without considering these factors. take this with a grain of salt I’ve heard folks say the final straw that broke the camel’s back with the ccp banning ao3 (it would’ve inevitably gotten banned no matter what) was mdzs rpf.
